Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Hey, I'm Dr. Maya Shunker, a cognitive scientist and hosts of the podcast, a slight change of plans, a show about who we are and who we become when life makes other plans. I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change. We have to be willing to live with a kind of uncertainty that none of us likes. You can have opinions. You can have like a strong stance.
Starting point is 00:00:30 And then there's your body having its own program. Listen to a slight change of plans on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On a recent episode of the podcast Money and Wealth with John Ho'Brien, I sit down with Tiffany the budgetista Aliche to talk about what it really takes to take control of your money. What would that look like in our families if everyone was able to pass on wealth to the people when they're no longer here? We break down budgeting, financial discipline, and how to build real wealth, starting with the mindset shifts. Too many of us were never, ever taught. If you've ever felt you didn't get the memo on money, this conversation is for you to hear more. Listen to Money and Wealth with John Hope Bryant from the Black Effect Network on the I'd Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:01:24 Will Ferrell's Big Money Players and IHeart Podcasts presents Soccer moms. So I'm Leanne. Yeah. This is my best friend, Janet. Hey. And we have been joined at the hips since high school. Absolutely. A redacted amount of years later, we're still joined at the hip.
Starting point is 00:01:37 Just a little bit bigger hips. This is a podcast. We're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey. With all the snacks and drinks. Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer? Oh, they hit a bogo. Well, then you got it. Listen to soccer moms on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:01:56 American soccer is about to explode. The World Cup is coming. Ramos sending on to Ernie Stewart, the chip. Score! I'm Tab Ramos. I'm Tom Boca. On our podcast, Inside American Soccer, you'll get the real storylines,
Starting point is 00:02:13 the biggest decisions, and the truth about the U.S. national team. It wouldn't be a huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals or potentially a great run into the semifinals. Listen, Inside American Soccer with Tom Bogart and Tab Ramos on the IHeart Radio app,
Starting point is 00:02:28 Apple Podcast, wherever, Get your podcast. I'm Miles Turner. And I'm Brianna Stewart. And our podcast, Game Recognized Game, has never been done before. Two active players giving you a real look at our lives and what we actually think, on and off the court. Nothing's off the limits.
Starting point is 00:02:45 We talk tanking. I might get in trouble for this answer, but I think it's, like, definitely happening in the WBA. We talk about our mistakes, too. They pulled me to the side and was like, hey, man, we got a call last night, man. You can't be rolling around the city like this tonight before games. Check out Game Recognized game with Stoian Miles on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome to Friday show. We got a big one. Morning studio. Morning.
Starting point is 00:03:24 Let's go around the room with the get-to-know-you question. I'll ask it, but I'll answer it first since you guys have no idea what the question is. Who is your favorite TV couple of all time? Oh, think about it. Your favorite TV couple of all time. Now I've had a little time to think about this. And I'm going to go, Zach Morris, Kelly Kapowski. Oh.
Starting point is 00:03:51 Just because it was such, that's such an important part of my life. That show, that time of my life, had the biggest crush on Kelly Kapowski. I thought Zach Morris was the coolest guy ever. That Jim and Pam were a close second. Older version, favorite show. But I'm going, Zach Morris, Kelly Kapowski,
Starting point is 00:04:09 my favorite TV couple ever. And you look like you're thinking hard. Yeah, because I'm debating between two as well. Hey, you know what? Go. Okay, Ross and Rachel from Friends. And then Meredith Gray and Dr. McDreamy on Grey's Anatomy. You liked Ross and Rachel more than Monica Chandler?
Starting point is 00:04:27 Yeah, I always thought the Monica Chandler thing was weird. It was only weird because she was way hotter than he was, but I think that's why I liked it. Because he was like the wisecracking goofy guy. And I was like, man, I guess if Chandler can do it. It gave you hope. Yeah. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:04:42 I don't know if it was like a looks thing for me. I guess Ross and Rachel were the OG. Yeah, but I feel like Rachel is so much harder than Ross. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. But yes, Ross and Rachel, big couple of our lifetime. Eddie?
Starting point is 00:04:55 That's funny. I went with married couple. Tim and Jill Taylor. Is it Jill? I just loved the way that they were like in love. I mean, they had all these three boys, their life, was crazy, but they always handled things great, and they were always, like, just learning with each other even when they were old.
Starting point is 00:05:11 That's how I felt about the Huxstables. Oh, yeah. It would, like, still be in love and dance. You can't think that now, though. Bill and. I can't think about that. Bill. It wasn't Bill Huxable.
Starting point is 00:05:26 Was it? Cliff. Cliff and Claire Huxstable. Oh, man. No, they can still exist. No, it's hard. It's just Bill Cosby can't. That's hard to visualize that.
Starting point is 00:05:38 Okay. Lunchbox. Man, I got, this is tough. I got nine. Survivor, season three. It's going to be a real world couple. Go ahead. Well, I mean, that's the problem is they end up getting, I'm going to say Amber and Rob from Survivor.
Starting point is 00:05:53 They met. Boston Rob. Yeah, Boston Rob met his wife on Survivor and they became a duo and they went all the way to the final. She won and on stage he got down and proposed. I mean, that's all together. Yeah, they're still together. Yeah, they're still together. Got kids.
Starting point is 00:06:05 You just say that? No, I don't say that. They're still together. Who's the couple from The Bachelor, Still Together, the Fireman? Oh, yeah, yeah. What's her name? Tristan. Are they still together?
Starting point is 00:06:16 And Ryan, yeah. She was the Bachelorette. That's where they got together. Got it. That's cool. Okay, so you have Rob and Amber. Okay. And I also liked Riggins and Lila Garrity on Friday Night Lights.
Starting point is 00:06:27 Oh, yeah. Which two were there? The mom and dad? No, no. Oh, they're kids. She was the cheerleader, hot cheerleader, and then he was like the crazy one, like partier and they got together. Minka Kelly. Yeah. Minka Kelly.
Starting point is 00:06:37 Yeah. I saw her once at John Mayer ACL Live taping when that was taped in the U.T. building and there were like 60 people there and she was there and they were dating. She's pretty, huh? She's pretty hot in person, huh? Yeah, she's pretty. Were you there? No.
Starting point is 00:06:51 Really? You're on the show. Yeah, I was on the show but she didn't invite me that. And then another one, Eric and Donna from that 70s show, they were pretty good. They were cool. They were fun. That's a good one. On the phone right now is Ron, who lives in South Carolina. Hey Ron, what's happening?
Starting point is 00:07:07 Hey, Bob, good morning. Good morning. Morning. So we talk, I hear we talk a lot about running into celebrities and how to react and whether to approach them or not. So I find out, yes, on Sunday, my daughter lives in an adjacent state to where I live. Chris Stapleton is going to be staying next to her in the house like 20 feet away from her for a month recording an album. I'm curious. as to the studio's thoughts on how they would react to Chris Stapleton, staying in the house literally next to them. Do you just let him stay there and hang out and not make it public?
Starting point is 00:07:48 Or do you go over and introduce yourself and welcome him to the town that you're in? It's an interesting question. It's all you. Yeah. Oh, man. So, this is what I would say, mostly knowing Chris is a very private person just to begin with. So I think a lot of what I'm going to say reflects not only celebrity culture, but also Chris himself. It would be very kind to offer anyone, any sort of help, period.
Starting point is 00:08:21 Okay? So I'm going to lead with that. What I would do, I wouldn't go over to the house and knock on the door and be like, hey, it's my favorite song. What I would do, first of all, is nothing. I would respect the privacy of whomever was in that house. Chris Stapleton or Amy's cousin. Doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:08:43 At your place inside those walls, that is your private area. Next up, if I were to see at a time that I was out, maybe getting in the driveway, the car in the driveway, and they were, Chris, somebody from his team, you could just say, hey, guys, I know Ron, you're not living next door. Be like, hey, I'm Ron, I'm the neighbor. If you guys need anything, feel free to come. knock on the door. I would offer your services at a time when it wasn't weird to offer your services.
Starting point is 00:09:11 That's nice. I just don't think for anyone I would go up and knock on the door and go, what's going on in there? Okay. I don't even like people do that to me. Right. Like as a normal person, whenever I just move into a place. Oh. So like, but if you would normally be that person that welcomes someone into the neighborhood, so you just set that aside. If you're really... Because you know the situation. Bread and cookies, something like that. Because you know the situation and you know, because I'm telling you now, that Chris is a very private person. I would say that you do not, you'll knock on the door, that if you do see them out in an organic circumstance, you can go, hey, I'm wrong.
Starting point is 00:09:54 If you guys need anything, let me know. You know what? They're probably not going to need anything. You're right. Or they're good. Like the second or third time, if you do kind of develop some sort of, you know, relationship. Like you talk, you know, you're picking up the paper and your underwear outside. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:10:08 They're like, hey, we'd love to make dinner for you guys. You could do that. Oh. But that needs to be like third or fourth once you have a conversation and you have this super-substancy relationship. But at least you have that. So I would say veer to the side of leave him alone. But it's pretty cool. Would you tell the whole town?
Starting point is 00:10:26 No. I wouldn't because I wouldn't want to told on me. Right. That's my advice, Ron. That's good advice. If it were John Party, I'd go over with the keg. Be like, what up, John Party? Different for everybody.
Starting point is 00:10:36 Yes, different for everybody. All right, Ron, have a great day. Good morning, buddy. I hope you have an awesome rest of the day. Thank you, you too. I just confusing myself with that sentence. All right. The Bobby Bones Show.
Starting point is 00:10:45 Happy New Year. All right, let's do it. What's wrong with people? What's wrong with people? A guy in St. Louis helped free a stranger's car after I got stuck in the snow on Sunday. And then, once it was unstuck, you pulled out a gun and demanded their keys to steal their car. Car jacked him. So basically, he didn't even help.
Starting point is 00:11:03 He helped him steal the car. Gosh. That's great. Because a lot of places nailed by the snow. It's always nice to see people helping people. Because this is the time when that 32-year-old guy got his car stuck in St. Louis trying to get out of parking garage. A guy in an SUV showed up to help him. And that same guy immediately robbed him as soon as he helped him.
Starting point is 00:11:26 That's crazy. That's terrible. That's from KSDK. What's wrong with people? What's wrong with people? Are you going to say something there? Yeah, just I can't believe it. might be one of the worst what's wrong with people's ever.
Starting point is 00:11:37 Here's another one. That's pretty bad. This one's from TikTok and I saw that Lexi was on TikTok and she was talking about this person who was like, hey, I'm raising money to go buy clothes for kids at Christmas and he'd go to Walmart buy out of clothes and then give the kids except he didn't. She ended up seeing him take the clothes back to get all the money back. So this is from TikTok and here she is talking about what happened according to the Walmart employee.
Starting point is 00:12:02 And she told me that two days ago. go, a gentleman came in and purchased all of these and made a TikTok video about purchasing them for his community. And two days later, she was outside having lunch and she saw the same gentleman sent an older gentleman in to return them. So I just want to give you guys a heads up. Some of these videos and some of these influencers that you're following, seriously. So he said, I need money. I'm going to buy this stuff. He proved you. bought the stuff, did a video of him buying it, and then after the video,
Starting point is 00:12:39 took it back, returned the money, kept all the money that people gave him. Wow. There's a place for people like that. Who's worse? St. Louis. Because they all live, they're robbing people with cars. What's wrong with people? What's wrong with people? Next one up. The woman in Ohio with the last name Gamble
Starting point is 00:12:54 is facing charges after she allegedly left two children alone in a car below freezing temperatures to go in a casino. Gambling. That a real last name? Yeah. A Toledo woman faces charges after police say she left two kids alone in a car that was not running or locked and below freezing temperatures in a casino parking lot. Oh, well, she's the worst. Yeah. That's the worst. We have to vote on who's the worst here.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Wasn't going to vote, but okay, we'll do it. She's definitely the worst. She's definitely the worst. Carjacker number two. Terrible. Terrible. Yeah. And TikToker. Yeah, I didn't really plan to rank them and tear them. I'm like that we can tear them. 22 years old and charged with like real life stuff, endangering children. But the reason it's a story, a big story is because she went to a casino and Last name is Gamble. That's from WTVG. What's wrong with people?
Starting point is 00:13:38 What's wrong with people? What's wrong with people? What's wrong with people? What's wrong with people? Thank you. A win is a win. A win is a win. I don't care what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:13:51 Yep, that's me. Cliver Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football, or my career in sports media. Well, somewhere along the way, this platform became bigger than I ever imagined. And now I'm bringing all of that excitement
Starting point is 00:14:06 to my brand new podcast, The Clifford Show. This is a place for raw, unfiltered conversations with some of your favorite athletes, creators, and voices that not only deserve to be heard, but celebrated. So if you've ever supported me or you're just chasing down a dream, this is right where you need to be. Listen to the Clifford show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more behind the scenes, follow at Clifford and at TikTok Podcast Network on TikTok.
Starting point is 00:14:49 You can have opinions. You can have like a strong stance. And then there's your body having its own program. I'm Dr. Maya Shunker, a cognitive scientist and host of a podcast. the podcast, a slight change of plans, a show about who we are and who we become when life makes other plans. We share stories and scientific insights to help us all better navigate these periods of turbulence and transformation. There is one finding that is consistent, and that is that our resilience rests on our relationships. I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change. We have to be willing to live with a kind of uncertainty.
Starting point is 00:15:33 that none of us likes. Listen to a slight change of plans on the I-HeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On a recent episode of the podcast, Money and Wealth with John Hobriant, I sit down with Tiffany the budgetista Aliche to talk about what it really takes to take control of your money. What would that look like in our families if everyone was able to pass on wealth to the people when they're no longer here?
Starting point is 00:16:02 We break down budgeting, financial discipline, and how to build real wealth, starting with the mindset shifts. Too many of us were never, ever taught. Financial education is not always about, like, I'm going to get rich. That's great. It's about creating an atmosphere for you to be able to take care of yourself and leave a strong financial legacy for your family. If you've ever felt you didn't get the memo on money,
Starting point is 00:16:29 this conversation is for you to hear more. Listen to Money and Wealth with John, Brian from the Black Effect Network on the I'd Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hi, everyone. I'm Cheryl Stray, author of Wild and Tiny Beautiful Things. I'm excited to share that I have a new podcast called Mind Over Mountain. In each episode, I interview athletes, adventurers, and adrenaline seekers to discuss the
Starting point is 00:16:58 inner landscapes and life experiences that informed and inspired their extraordinary feats. I also bring a bit of advice into the mix so we too can better understand how to face our own seemingly insurmountable challenges. Do you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to pull out what you already have inside. We're coming into this world, fighting for our lives.
Starting point is 00:17:18 All I'm going to do is pull out what you already got inside. We're there to support and celebrate each other. And that's not like your story versus my story. You're going to walk up and over that dang mountain. You're not just going to put your mind over it. Yep, yep, exactly. And if I can't walk up and over it, I'm going to go through it.
Starting point is 00:17:35 Listen to Mind Over Mountain every Thursday on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. American soccer is about to explode. The World Cup is coming. Ramers sending on to Ernie Stewart the chip. I'm Todd Ramos. I'm Tom Boke. On our podcast, inside American soccer, you'll get the real storylines. I'm not worried about Policic.
Starting point is 00:18:04 I'm not worried about Balagan. I'm not worried about McKinney. My only concern is what happens in the United. back. The biggest decisions. If you're going to look at stats and numbers, he has no shot at making this World Cup team. And the truth about the U.S. national team. It wouldn't be a huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals or potentially a great
Starting point is 00:18:26 run into the semifinals. The World Cup is almost here. Experience it all with us. Listen, Inside American Soccer with Tom Bogart and Tab Ramos on the IHeart Radio app, Apple podcast, wherever you get your podcast. It's time for the good news. for lunchbox. Tell me something good.
Starting point is 00:18:50 Jared Morrissey is driving home in Rock Island, Illinois around midnight. He sees some flames in the distance. He's like, oh, someone's having a bonfire. And as he gets closer, he's like, oh, no, that's no bonfire. A garage is on fire. And he pulls his car over, goes up. Bang, bang, bang, bang. No one's answering.
Starting point is 00:19:11 Bang, bang, bang. No one's answering. Bang, bang, bang. Finally, a lady comes up. Can I help you? And she's like, your house is on fire. She grabs her dog and gets out of there safely. Wow.
Starting point is 00:19:23 What happened? The house burned down. Oh, yeah. Well, yeah. But everybody got out. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Lots of banging. Glad he kept banging.
Starting point is 00:19:30 I mean, you would think he was just going to give up after once, but he's like, no. I didn't think that because you kept banging real loud here. Yeah, yeah. Well, you had to bang and he got tired so he'd stop and see if he hear anything. So keep banging. Always quite a commitment when you got to keep banging on a door to get somebody to come out. It is. It really is.
Starting point is 00:19:44 I mean, he had to decide, am I going to break a window? What do I do? but on the third sets of bangs, she answered the door. And those are loud bangs. How'd I'd go again? Bang, bang, bang, bang! I'd been there at one. Those are allowed.
Starting point is 00:19:54 With a gun, who's banging on my door. Great job. He saved her and her dog. Sucks about the house, but human life always more valuable. That is what it's all about. That was tell me something good. My first fun fact, presidents get free postage for life. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:20:14 They never have to pay for a stamp or postage stamp. They got it. You're president. You get free postage. So lucky because it's like 50, sense to mail a letter now. It's ridiculous. It's just crazy. That's part of the things. That's part of the... What if they have to, like, ship packages? Like, they can ship a couch for free?
Starting point is 00:20:27 Hey, bro. No problem. Wow, that's cool. Oh, I don't know about a couch because I don't know if the Postal Service does that. They will. Well, UPS does. That's different, different entity. Interesting. If you're a president, I bet you just ship the couch and nobody cares. I was going to bet on that one. Fun fact, Friday, Amy. So, farmers sometimes feed cows skittles because they're a cheap source of carbohydrates. No way. That feels like it would be... Like animal, like, brutal?
Starting point is 00:20:53 Sure, they love the skittles. Oh, I bet they love it. I don't know if they have to worry about the red dye or whatever that is. Can't they feed them a million things other than skittles? Like bread? Well, I mean, I feel like sugar might be bad for their gut. Is their poop colored? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:21:06 Another digestive. Good question. It says that sometimes they eat skittles and other sweets as part of their feed. Me too. Lunchbox, Fun Fact Friday. Anybody going to Cornell University can get a degree in wine making. It's called Viticulture in a North. It's the cultivation of grapes and the science of wine making.
Starting point is 00:21:24 That is so cool. That's a lot of words. Hey, I didn't follow. Do you all know how many grapes are in a bottle of wine? 12. I want to go 70. 380. No, anywhere from 600 to 800 grapes per bottle.
Starting point is 00:21:38 You upstage his stuff. Fun fact. We didn't even get to talk about his fact. I didn't understand his. Me either. No, this is easy. You can go to school to make wine. At Cornell.
Starting point is 00:21:45 I thought Cornell is like, you know. That sounds on bar. You can go to school to be an engineer. Hey, at A&M, can you get a degree in winemaking? With agriculture, probably, something. I don't hate your fun fact. I just didn't understand it. I just thought it was cool that you could go to Cornell, which is like Ivy League.
Starting point is 00:22:01 You're saying Cornell. And my friend Andy went to Cornell. Yeah, well, Ivy League is very sophisticated. I didn't realize they had a major in winemaking. I would think an Ivy League would be happy if anybody did. I don't want to walk down this trail. I thought it would be like you had to go to Italy to find out how to make wine. You don't got to go to France make fries, bro.
Starting point is 00:22:18 Guys, from Texas A&M, you can get a viticulture and analogy certificate, which is about wine making processes. Okay, guys, I'm fine about something I have no opinion on. But you'll never forget how many grapes are in a bottle of. I already forgot. I thought it was funny that you trumped his, though, but so all good. Morgan. Yeah, so astronaut Chris Hadfield would call his wife from the International Space Station, but she thought he was a telemarketer.
Starting point is 00:22:43 So there was this three-second delay, and she would always hang up on him. So NASA had to come, give her the phone number, and write space for every time he called. That's pretty funny. Yeah, what's the caller ID on that? Like from space? Moon 100. Another area code. There's an old clip of Joe Montana on the sideline in the 80s when he figured out that little phone that you could talk to your offensive coordinator up in the booth could actually call out and he'd call his wife from the game.
Starting point is 00:23:05 Yeah, that's cool. Pretty funny. That's a funny one. Yeah, that's for you. So if you leave a party without saying goodbye, you can save up to two days a year of your life. Dude, I got like three months free then. What? How many parties are people going to? Well, maybe just any social event.
Starting point is 00:23:20 Yeah. Because it takes forever. I got to say about it, everyone in the room. I have a, at my house, I have a strategy. When it's time for everybody to go, I don't yell. Okay, time for everybody to go. I go to my room. I put on shorts and a cutoff and I reenter the party where everybody's dressed up
Starting point is 00:23:34 and a cut off shirt. And everybody goes, oh, I think it's time to go. Oh, he's ready for bed. Even in my wife's party, it went, it was Sunday night. It went kind of long. I was just, you know, and I felt like everybody got there safe. and everybody was ready to go. So you stood up.
Starting point is 00:23:46 I just stood up. I was like, all right, everybody, thank you for coming. And if I'd had to cut off, I'd have put it on the bathroom. Do you remember one time you texted me and said, it's time for you to go? So will you lead everyone out? So I was like, oh, oh, yeah, so I left. And then once I left, you're a leader. Yeah, everyone else left.
Starting point is 00:24:00 Yeah, I'll text and be like, hey, you should go. And then people will follow. Yeah, that's how I have parties. In California, you can only get the number 69 on a license plate if your car's model year is 69 because people want to have 69. Of course. And if someone says you're eating like a whale, don't worry because they're exaggerating because a blue whale eats 20 million calories a day. 20 million.
Starting point is 00:24:24 Dang, that's a lot. That's like a blooming onion. Don't they just like open their mouth and just swallow whatever comes? Yeah, probably. But 20 million. Is that fish for like a low cow food? Well, yeah, a lot of fish. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:37 Like the Mediterranean diet, you think it'd be a little lighter? Amy, I want you to explain this. to me, I don't have a theory. Researchers have found that you might want to watch your waiters wait when you're eating out because it can affect the bill. In the latest study of environmental cues to overeating, researchers have identified a new indulgence trigger a pleasingly server who is overweight. In a study of about 500 diners at over 60 restaurants in America of all different kinds of
Starting point is 00:25:11 restaurants as far as price and kind of food. And they said most of them are casual like an apple bees or a chilis. Customers who were served by waiters who were heavier ordered more food, ordered more drinks. They were also four times more likely to order dessert than those served by skinnier waiters. They also drank 20% more alcoholic beverages. It's from Cornell's Food and Brand Lab at Cornell University. Amy, what is your theory? Why do we order more food when the waiter weighs more?
Starting point is 00:25:45 Well, the first theory that comes to mind is maybe they eat more and they recommend more or what they're recommending isn't necessarily like, you know, the friendliness when it comes to your health. So they might be like, oh, you got to get this appetizer and you got to get this fried thing and get this that. They're more passionate about the calamari? Maybe. Okay. Maybe.
Starting point is 00:26:05 I mean, my dad always carried a little extra rate and he loved food and was very passionate. and I feel like he would have recommended so much on the menu. So that's just, I mean, that's where my brain goes. I would believe somebody fatter when they're talking about eating. And they know what they're talking about. Yeah, I'd be like, that's an expert. Yeah. Like, if somebody comes and they're all ripped up in their tight shirt and they're like, hey, the cheesecake to die for, I'd be like, you're full crap.
Starting point is 00:26:26 Yeah, you lie. You've never tried it. Think you may be on to something here. What a weird study, though, to go like, let's just see about fat waiters versus skinny waiter. It's weird. But when I see an influencer, I want to know that they're an expert in the area they influence. and maybe they're just our table influencers. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:45 Yeah. And maybe. Which good for them because the more people spend, the bigger their tip. What if you think that, like, they eat the food there so much that they're fat and that it must be good? That's kind. That's a child of what Amy's saying. Yes. No, I just, I think we trust them.
Starting point is 00:27:02 Yeah. Like, probably saying, like, yeah, we try. It may not even be that they know everything from that restaurant. I think they'd be on the menu for sure. Right, right, right. In general, they know. also. Because I would also think somebody that's in shape at
Starting point is 00:27:14 let's just say in Applebee's and as like recommending all the I'd be like you're lying. You're passing the company line here. Yeah, you didn't eat that. I don't know. I'm just thinking like at times that I've been out to eat and I've asked the server and when they don't answer directly with confidence, I don't believe
Starting point is 00:27:30 what they're saying. Like there was one time where we were asking and he was like, oh yeah this is my favorite. And then he had to look down at this piece of paper and he's like there's much And there's cheese, like he was trying to explain it, but he acted like it was his favorite dish ever. And I was like, instantly, I don't believe you. So unfair to go.
Starting point is 00:27:49 Skinny waiter doesn't know, but I can understand why. It'd be like if you go and you want to become a bodybuilder or learn how to get in real big shape, you'd probably want to go to somebody that is in shape. Whenever you eat, you probably want to go to someone that does eat. Whenever you want to learn how to fly, you go to pilot. Maybe that's what it is. I thought that was so interesting. And also who thought to do that study?
Starting point is 00:28:12 Let's go and see if the fat waiters know more. So random. Sometimes when we go over certain studies, I'm like, we really invested time and money into this research. Cornell did, dude. But it makes me think, too, like, wow, that's what everyone else is doing in the world. Like, somebody's doing that right now. That's when they say I'm going to work.
Starting point is 00:28:27 A stupid study? That's them going to work. It's time for the good news. With producer Eddie. Yeah, home it's not been good. Alvin is a mailman from Dallas, Texas, and he's been doing this for 20 years, but he's also a Marine Corps veteran. So he's at work, he's going through his mail bag, and at the very bottom, he finds these old letters.
Starting point is 00:28:46 He's like, what is this? It's a Christmas card from 1942, which is World War II. Do we think that no one had gotten to the bottom of the bag? I guess there are like so many hamptors in like the mail room or whatever that sometimes mail just gets lost in those things. Would you call them a hamter? Hamper. Hamper. But from 1942?
Starting point is 00:29:07 What? And he's like reaching the box. Jeez. So he finds that and a bunch of. other letters from that same time. He's like, this is crazy. He looks at them. They're addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lamb of Jacksonville, Arkansas.
Starting point is 00:29:19 He's like, these are World War II letters from a soldier. So he got in his own car on his day off, drove 379 miles, found the people that it was addressed to and delivered to them themselves. Were they still alive? They're still alive. Yeah. I mean, the family, somebody of the family, whoever owned that house, whether it's like a daughter or a son or whatever, yeah. They were still there. In their 80s?
Starting point is 00:29:40 I'm going to be willing to bet that if that mailman wasn't a former veteran. He's a veteran now, but a former military member, he wouldn't have done that. I don't know. Some mailman are good, but I bet that meant extra to him because he had also served. And also I hear that, like, you can get a job as a mailman, that's like the greatest job. Why? Benefits. It's like a government job.
Starting point is 00:30:00 You get all the holidays off. Yeah, but they all seem like they're in a bad mood. Not my mailman. My mailman's, like, always nice. But people at the post office don't seem very happy. But that's not a mailman. But also sometimes people in line at the postoff, the customers can be equally as rude. And the lighting in there is just weird.
Starting point is 00:30:14 But also not a mailman. Those are postal worker. There's a distinct difference there. I'm always weirded out by the mailman or male woman, whatever, with the steering wheel on the wrong side. Yeah. You can't think and go to London and just like kill it. I don't think about that. Just like drive like awesome.
Starting point is 00:30:30 They feel better driving in the UK. That's a great story. That's what it's all about. That was tell me something good. A win is a win. A win is a win. I don't care what I'm saying. Yep, that's me, Clivert Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football, or my career in sports media.

Starting point is 00:31:55 a slight change of plans, a show about who we are and who we become when life makes other plans. We share stories and scientific insights to help us all better navigate these periods of turbulence and transformation. There is one finding that is consistent, and that is that our resilience rests on our relationships. I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change. We have to be willing to live with a kind of uncertainty that none of us likes. Listen to a slight change of plans on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On a recent episode of the podcast, Money and Wealth with John Hope Bryant, I sit down with Tiffany the budgetista Aliche to talk about what it really takes to take control of your money.
Starting point is 00:32:46 What would that look like in our families if everyone was able to pass on wealth to the people when they're no longer here? We break down budgeting, financial discipline, and how to build real wealth, starting with the mindset shifts. Too many of us were never, ever taught. Financial education is not always about, like, I'm going to get rich. That's great. It's about creating an atmosphere for you to be able to take care of yourself and leave a strong financial legacy for your family. If you've ever felt you didn't get the memo on money,
Starting point is 00:33:20 this conversation is for you to hear more. Listen to Money and Wealth with John O'Brien from the Black Effect Network on the I'd Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. American soccer is about to explode. The World Cup is free. coming. Ramos sending on to Ernie Stewart the chip.
Starting point is 00:33:47 I'm Tad Ramos. I'm Tom Boe. On our podcast, Inside American Soccer, you'll get the real storylines. I'm not worried about Policic. I'm not worried about Balagan. I'm not worried about McKinney. My only concern is what happens in the back. The biggest decisions.
Starting point is 00:34:05 If you're going to look at stats and numbers, he has no shot at making this World Cup team. And the truth about the U.S. national team. It wouldn't be a huge. huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals or potentially a great run into the semifinals. The World Cup is almost here. Experience it all with us. Listen to Inside American Soccer with Tom Bogart and Tab Ramos on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:34:35 Hey, Ernest, what's up? Look, money is something we all deal with, but financial literacy is what helps turn income into real wealth. On each episode of the podcast, Earn Your Leisure, we break down the conversations you need to understand money, investing, and... entrepreneurship. From stocks and real estate to credit, business, and generational wealth, we translate complex financial topics into real conversations
Starting point is 00:34:56 everyone can understand. Because the truth is, most people will never taught how money really works. But once you understand the system, you can start to build within it. That means ownership, smarter investing, and creating opportunities not just for yourself, but for the next
Starting point is 00:35:12 generation. If you want to learn how to build wealth, understand the markets, and think like an owner, earn your Leisure is the podcast for you. Listen to Earn Your Leisure on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Morning Corny?
Starting point is 00:36:01 The Morning Corny. Two artists had an art contest. It ended in a drawl. That's pretty cool. That was the morning corny. We can use our phone as a request line too. Excuse me, advice line. I know we take emails, but if you have any advice that you'd like to ask of us and say,
Starting point is 00:36:24 hey, just change my voice. We will do that. You can call 877-Bobby. Here's one. Hit this. I wanted to ask you what you guys thought about your husband or spouse subscribing to only fans. Happily married. Found out that he had an only fan subscription over a year ago.
Starting point is 00:36:43 Confredited him about it. He was bored. He might have to see what it was about. We got over it, moved on. It still lingers in my mind. Is that cheating? What is that? What do you guys think?
Starting point is 00:36:53 First, I'm going to say he didn't sign up because he was bored and why. wanted to see what was going on. That is not accurate. If you're bored, you play a video game, you go and shoot stuff. Maybe you're bored of the marriage. Well, yeah. Or maybe not even that. Maybe he just wants to look at naked girls, right?
Starting point is 00:37:10 There can be that you cannot be bored of the marriage and still want to go look at the P word. I'm not talking about four letters. They're kids listening. They're kids listening. So I'm not going to assign him to that, but it's all the definite. Is it cheating? I'm going to go, no. Is it lying and dishonest? Yes. There's a very fine line. Cheating would be, in my opinion, with another human. But lying is awful too, and it's so close to that.
Starting point is 00:37:36 He was not bored. That's not why he did it because he was bored and just wanted to see what was going on. No, he wanted to see what he was signing up for. Because you sign up and subscribe to specific people on that. It's great. You confront him. If you believe him, you are allowed to move on. He did not cheat because it wasn't. like a relationship with that person. Because again, even if you're not meeting and touching, if you have an online relationship with somebody, that could be considered cheating because you're having an emotional relationship with somebody. This is somebody that has
Starting point is 00:38:05 tons of subscribers and they're sending them pictures, right? Is Only Fans only that kind of stuff? Or could you like pay to watch someone eat? So at a time OnlyFans started to market toward things that weren't that stuff, but they realized it wasn't happening. Oh, okay. So yes. They tried to clean it up, but the clean version was not.
Starting point is 00:38:24 So is it cheating? I'm going to go with no. Is it lying? Absolutely. Oh, does it fall under that category of microcheating? That's stupid. Oh, yeah, I didn't make it up. I know.
Starting point is 00:38:35 It's stupid. Either you cheated or you didn't. You can be dishonest, you can lie. But again, it's all you guys' interpretation. If you guys have had a rule and if you're doing this, it's cheating, then it's cheating. If you're asking me my opinion, I would say he did not cheat, but he did lie. And that's really bad. And if you believe him from now on, you move forward and make him build the trust.
Starting point is 00:38:55 But I don't think that's cheating, but I think it's a symptom of something else. What is it? That's what I say. Lunchbox? I don't think it's cheating at all, man. I mean, it's just like if you had a subscription to that magazine back in the day, you know, P-boy. Uh-huh. Well, you can say playboy. That's not, that's a different, okay.
Starting point is 00:39:12 Peboy. It's a different magazine, too. Yeah, I just think it's looking at pictures. It's looking at videos. It's sort of like looking at someone in a swimsuit at the beach. But if you have to hide it, then you have to hide it, it's dishonest. And that's not the same. It wasn't dishonest, but it's not cheating.
Starting point is 00:39:27 He shouldn't be in trouble. Let him be... No, he should be in trouble if that's a... But... I guess it is the same thing, but it doesn't mean everybody was okay with that subscription to that magazine. Which one? P-boy. P-boy. For some reason, you couldn't say the word play.
Starting point is 00:39:43 Bobby Bone Show. Happy New Year. Bobby Bone Show. Bonehead. Norrie of the day. This story comes us from Portland, Oregon. Police pulled over a stolen vehicle with a man and woman inside. They pull up and they...
Starting point is 00:39:56 Hey, is there anything in the car we need to know about? They said, we got this bag right here, but it has nothing in it. Wait, they bring attention to the bag that has nothing in it? Yeah, and the bag on it says definitely not a bag of drugs. So on the bag, it also says definitely. So nothing in this bag that says not a bag of drugs. Yeah, and it turns out a lot of drugs. Yeah, so dumb.
