Morning studio.
Morning.
Amy, you good?
Yeah, you?
Yeah, good.
I was looking at some voicemails last night.
This is Patty from Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Hi, Bobby. Morning video. I'm calling, hoping that she'll wish my mother a happy birthday. She's in Phoenix. I'm going to go in and surprise her for her birthday, and she's turning 69. She doesn't know anything about broadcasting, and I tried to explain it to her. So when I'm out there, I'm going to introduce her to the Bobby Bowman Show, and I'm hoping that the first episode she hears is the one where you're wishing her a happy birthday. Thanks so much for everything you do. Love you. Have a good day.
Thank you very much. Happy 16.
9th birthday. That's pretty cool.
All right, so thank you for the call.
We'll have Russell Dickerson coming in later.
Heath Sanders comes up this hour to perform.
He's fantastic.
Friday morning dance party coming up as well.
Also, Amy has created a game that we're going to play here.
Oh.
What does I have?
So you just said, hey, have a game. Can we play it?
Okay.
So am I playing?
Yeah, you can.
Okay.
And Amy's going to be the game show host?
Amy's going to host it.
You're going to ask me the questions.
The game is called famous spin-off shows.
and I'm going to say the spin-off show
and then Bobby, you guess the original show.
Okay.
Yeah.
I have a feeling Amy doesn't really have.
Scuba Steve just did Face Palm as well.
What?
Scoobo Steve, what's the problem here?
We said this email to her hours ago to be ready
and it's like, she doesn't get what's going on.
But I made this game.
How do I not? Wait, how do you?
I'm confused.
I know exactly what's going on.
It doesn't sound like it.
Okay.
I was a little confused by you not knowing what was going on either.
That's okay.
We got it. We're good.
Okay.
Thumbs up.
It just says that if you go five for five, a caller wins a prize.
Nice.
Okay.
We have a caller.
It is Tish in Texas.
Hey, Tish, how are you?
Good.
How are you?
Doing pretty good.
Okay.
If I go five for five on this game, you win a prize.
Okay.
We're figuring out as we go.
I've got an example for you.
Go ahead.
Better call Saul.
Breaking bed.
Boom.
Nailed it.
Bobby's going to be good.
Okay.
Okay.
Laverne and Shirley.
What?
Happy days.
Nice.
Really?
Yeah.
Frazier.
Cheers.
The Jefferson's.
You got to tell me if I'm right, though.
Oh, yeah, you're right.
Duh.
Don't forget that.
Sorry.
Go ahead.
To me, I'm just like, yes, of course he's right.
The Jeffersons.
Jeffersons.
All in the family.
Right.
Spinoffs?
Wow, dude, you're good.
This one, I don't know.
Darya.
You got this, Bones.
Do you know it, Eddie?
Yeah, I do.
Okay.
I feel like, yes, you definitely should know it.
but it is hard. Daria.
Let me come back to that one.
What's the fifth one?
Because I want to put it down to the end
to see if I can win a prize.
Scoop of Steve, is that allowed?
Oh.
Oh.
I want the color to win, so it is allowed.
I will let it pass.
All right.
I'll come back to it, though.
Okay.
Family Matters.
Oh, yeah, you're not.
Family Matters.
Perfect strangers.
Yes.
Good job.
Larry worked at the New York.
newspaper company that in Chicago that Harriet may have.
Yeah.
Crazy.
Okay, so what's the other one?
You want me to go back?
No, just the one I missed.
I didn't get to.
Yeah, Dari.
Yeah, that's the one I'm going to do, Dari.
Hey, Tish, are you still there?
Yeah.
Okay, Doria, let me talk this out.
Darya was the show that was a cartoon on MTV with a girl Darya.
And she came on, was very dry.
So if she were a cartoon on MTV and it was a spinoff, it had to be a cartoon show that she spun off from.
There were only a couple cartoon shows, but there was one that was massive.
There was a little before that, it was Beavis and Butthead.
I'm going to go with, for the prize.
How do you feel about that answer, Tish, Beavis and Butthead?
Yes.
Are you sure about it, or you just trusted me?
No, I'm sure.
Okay, we're going Beavis and Butthead.
Winner, winner!
Nice.
Thank you very much.
Good job.
Eddie, you know that?
I did.
And I also appreciate how good you are at hosting games now.
Okay.
Dang.
I'm going to say, Amy.
Also, I have a fun one that I wasn't for sure if you would get, but teen mom.
16 are pregnant.
Oh, look at you.
Yeah.
You have any other ones?
Yes.
Go ahead.
Mama's family.
Mama's family.
Mama Harper.
Vinton.
Naomi.
The lead character.
on the show won a Carol Burnett look-alike contest,
which I believe was what got her on Carol Burnett show.
It's from Carol Burnett.
It was a sketch.
Nice.
That's right.
Cleveland Show.
Family guy.
The Facts of Life.
Tootie.
Just nodded all over myself.
Why?
Why?
Hold on.
Let me think of the characters.
Tudie, Blair, Joe,
Mrs. Garrett.
Mrs. Garrett also worked in the house at different strokes.
So it had be different strokes
You got it
Crazy
Any other ones?
No, that concludes our game for the day
Thank you for coming
I should say that's the end of when I'm hosting shows
That concludes our game for the day
Good
Tish
How wait, we play my winning song please
Tish, how do you feel?
I feel I'm so confused
If I'm like, was I supposed to do something?
Nope, you just won if I won
Tish
You just called in
This whole segment's been a little bit confusing
But you know what
We got through it
We feel good
Also, Amy wants to kill most all of us in the studio right now.
The Bobby Bones Show.
Happy New Year.
Join me and my co-host Rachel Smith with music's biggest stars.
Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Brooks & Dunn, Sam Hunt,
and a ton more as we ring in the new year on New Year's Eve Live,
Nashville's Big Bash, only on CBS.
On the Bobby Bones Show now.
Heath Sanders.
I'm such a big fan of this guy.
He's going to play for us in just one second.
But you may remember Heath from back in the day.
He put a video up on Facebook.
And it was a Chris Stapleton cover of Either Way.
And here's a clip of that.
So that goes up on Facebook.
Everybody's like, look how good this guy is.
He moves in Nashville, gets a record deal.
You're working in the oil field when you put that video up, right?
Yeah, man.
Well, so I know you're working every day in the oil fields,
but when were you playing music?
Like at night, on Saturdays?
Yeah, I really just started to make lunch money, man.
Started playing shows around Central Arkansas, just little bars and stuff.
Man, making a couple hundred bucks a weekend just to kind of help me buy groceries, you know?
Was that fun for you, meaning would you work in the field all week and just look forward to being able to play in a bar on the weekend?
Sure, you always look, you know, look forward to cutting loose a little bit.
And, you know, there's a lot of stress in the old field to take out on a guitar and a mic.
So, yeah, it was always looking forward to it.
Do you remember your last day on the job because you knew this was it for me, like the next day I'm a full-time music man?
Yeah.
What was that last day like?
Man, it was a little bittersweet, to be honest.
You know, you're walking away from a lot of camaraderie out there in the field and a lot of good guys.
And, you know, there's always that side of you that's going to miss clocking in and out and being a part of that out there.
You know, you make brothers out there and sisters out there.
So it was a little sad, but on the other side it was a little free.
too, man. I definitely slept in the next morning. It was the first time. In years, I didn't have to be up at five.
How cool is that that you get to go and make music? You're just a kid growing up a small town in Arkansas,
and you're moving to Nashville, and you're going to pay your bills by doing something you love.
It's unbelievable, man. I still, three years later, I still wake up every day, just in disbelief that I get to do this for a living,
and that the people have, you know, have supported me through this, and, you know, because it's really them doing it.
You know, I'm just writing words, and it's really them that's building this thing,
supporting it and so just to have that many people behind you and helping you out and giving you
another way of life is amazing man are you going to play a song for us what are you going to do here
this is old schools in brother this is track one of the four songs the whole thing is the whole thing's
called common ground this is heat sanders i introduce your guitar player over here yeah this is my guitar player
gasey periday we actually met at a crawfish bull in northwest arkansas so he's been with he's been
with me since the beginning of this thing so all right here is a heat sanders doing old schools in
ring class led out a long time ago when the world ain't ever going back to the way we know it
will call me crazy but I wouldn't buy that lie even if they paid me I think we got a pretty damn good thing
going oh we're time still crawls a flag still flies mom still cooks you
God won't die
Dog still hunt
Me and man up
A little bit of red
Just rungs in your blood
Yes sir, yes ma'am
Handshake deals
Rock steel rules
Keeping it real
And three cords
And the truth
I ain't going nowhere
Oh still still in out here
Come on
Look at that
Heath Sanders
Look what you started Bobby
Come on
It's so good, man.
I'd tell you once, I've been a fan of Heath for a long time.
And I was playing a show in Arkansas.
I was doing stand-up at a theater there, and I said,
Heath come out and play.
I said, just come out.
We won't really make a big deal about you being there.
But Heath's like me, grew up in a small town in Arkansas,
and man, we get no proud of them we get to play in front of our own people, you know?
And Heath comes out and he plays,
and the whole crowd stands up and gives him a standing ovation.
I knew I wasn't going to stand an ovation.
He, like, stole the show before I went on.
But I was happy for it.
Look at you.
You made me smile.
You're so good.
You made me proud, man.
I didn't have anything to do with it.
I'm still proud.
You've got a lot to do with it, Bob.
No, no, no.
Thanks for everything, brother.
I really mean that, man.
Congratulations, by the way, dude.
I want to tell you congratulations, man.
You got you an amazing woman there.
I appreciate that.
Thanks, man.
At Heath Sanders Music, that is his Instagram.
And you're starting to be discovered now,
but you're truly that undiscovered gem
that this town has no idea
what's about to hit him in the face.
Oh, man.
So when you make it, you know, don't forget me.
All right, buddy.
I got you really.
I'll probably be out of work.
that show.
Fun fact Friday.
The most fun facts of the week.
Amy, are you ready?
Ready.
Here we go.
Number five.
So Benjamin Harris, he was an elected president in 1888, and he was actually the first president
to have electricity in the White House, but he never wanted to turn lights on in the
room because he was so scared he was going to get electrocuted.
Wouldn't you be, though?
Of course.
I mean, we're freaking out about cell phones, but imagine the first time electricity comes
on. I ain't touching it. You're like, is this thing coming down on me?
It sounds crazy, but yeah, flip a button and all of a sudden,
it makes sense. I would be scared too.
Yeah, good.
Number four.
So a Yale study discovered that kids who watched Mr. Rogers' neighborhood retained more
knowledge than kids who watched Sesame Street, and these kids were also more patient.
Do they have any reason as to why?
I don't have all those details, but I would assume it's because Mr. Rogers taught a lot of patience.
And as a human, maybe?
Maybe that connection because it's not
I mean Mr. Rogers did have his little puppets
But not it's not like a big bird talking to you
Yeah with Big Bird maybe you think it's more fun
Then you do educational
Okay
I'm just
That's a good theory
Making stuff up here
Yeah
I would like to go on Sesame Street at some point
Oh that'd be awesome
Because I watch
You gonna play music?
No
Because sometimes though
I'm not there to the level
Well they would invite me on
Yet maybe
Who knows if this new TV show does well
There's a chance
But like Dan and She went on
And I was like, that's so cool.
Pretty cool.
To get so, that would be a goal.
And maybe I just wait until I have kids.
But then Sesame Street's going to be all hovertrons and whatever they, the holograms.
Number three.
The founder of Timex watches picked the name in honor of his father because his father loved to read Time Magazine.
And he also used a lot of Kleenex.
So he combined Time Magazine and CleanX for Timex.
Boom, that's his name.
Well, it also just makes sense because it's a watch.
Yeah, that's what I thought.
It tells time.
But the X comes from his, he wanted it to be all in honor of his dad.
Look at my watch.
Is that time X?
Is that a G-shock?
Yeah, they're the greatest.
And as far as watches go, this one was like $80.
And it looks really cool.
Oh, I remember when I was 18.
I got a G-shock for graduation or something, and I thought I was the coolest.
G-shocks are so many cool ones now.
And they don't break.
And this one's red, and I love red.
All right, next up.
Number two.
The T-shirt was invented in 1904 and was marketed to bachelors who couldn't sew to replace the buttons on their shirts.
So was the idiot shirt.
Yeah, basically, yeah.
It was like, okay, you can't figure out a sew.
Here's a shirt without buttons.
Number one.
And then keep this in mind.
If you find a lost wallet with an ID in it, you can drop it off in any USPS mailbox.
and they're going to mail it to the owner for free.
Sure they are.
Wink.
Yeah, right.
Hey, and leave the cash in too and not be sure.
Or you can take it to your local police station.
That's what someone did once when they found my wallet.
And luckily, I thought to call the police to see if anyone had turned anything in.
And they had it at the front desk.
So if you just drop a wallet in there, they look through it, find the ID.
Yes.
I think they're, obviously this is part of their USPS training manual, I assume.
If you find a wallet in the big mailbox, make sure.
you check it out. We're going to mail it to the person for free.
I found a couple IDs. Where? In my day?
Oh, you have. And I just posted it on Instagram. I block out the address. I'm like,
who's is this? And then I mail it to them. That's what I did with that purse I found
the other day. Because people are like, just mail it to the address on there. Sometimes you move.
And you don't change your address on your ID. And then every time I've done that, people,
someone's been connected to someone has been connected to someone. The world is very small
whenever you pull out social media.
Fun fact Friday.
It's time for the good news
With producer Eddie
Tell me something good
Ashley and her five-year-old son
are taking the dog out in the backyard
When they hear an old man saying
Help me, help me, they look out
And it's 79-year-old Dick
He's the neighbor
And they're like, oh my gosh
The 5-year-old's like, Dick's in the water, mom
And
I'm so immature
Guys, this is a good story, listen
So then the son goes inside
The 5-year-old
He's like he gets two swords from his bedroom
And he's like, I'm going to go save Dick.
He runs to the pond.
Dick's been in the water for 40 minutes, guys, by the way.
And so he gets the swords and helps Dick out of the water.
He gets out.
And they save Dick.
And they're like, oh, my gosh, Oliver, you are a hero.
And he says, no, no, no, I am not a hero because I thought that Dick was being taken over by villains.
And I would have fought the villains, but I didn't.
I just saved him.
So I'm not a hero.
Can you help me?
What?
What's up?
I don't know what you were saying because I was laughing too hard.
The neighbor.
His name's Richard, but they call him Dick.
Well, Amy turned into an eight-year-old in the middle of that.
I started laughing at her.
Just give me the quick recap of that.
Don't say his name.
Okay, guys.
Say he's drowning, blah, blah, blah.
There's a mom and a five-year-old son, and they go outside, and they hear an old man screaming for help.
And so they look, and it's the neighbor, and his name's Richard, but they call him something else.
And so the son's like, I'm going to help him.
He gets his swords.
He thinks that Richard is getting, like, taken by villains.
He's not.
Richard's just been in the water for about 40 minutes.
He's drowning.
But they save him with the swords that Oliver got.
and then they interview Oliver afterwards.
Like, Oliver, you're a hero.
And he said, no, no, no, no, I'm not a hero because I really wanted to save the villains.
Beat the villains.
Beat the villains.
Instead, he just saved Richard.
Does this count as to Tell Me Something Good?
Yes.
Absolutely.
It was the funniest tell me something good ever.
That's what it's all about.
That was Tell Me Something Good.

On the Bobby Bones show now.
Robert Deaton.
All right, Robert Deaton is producing New Year's Eve Live, Nashville's Big Bash, which is tonight
on CBS and also on Paramount Plus.
Robert, does it matter where they watch it?
Will we prefer them to watch it on CBS if we got to pick?
Yeah, we would.
Yeah.
Yeah, that'd be great if they would, absolutely.
So if you only have Paramount Plus, you've completely cut the corridor.
watch it there. Otherwise, watching on CBS for our sake.
You know, you know what? We don't care where they watch it as long as they watch.
It's a five-hour show, and there are nearly 50 performances. How in the world do you make 50
calls, and how do you line up these performances?
Well, there actually, there are 50 performances. So, and something like 25 artists,
it takes all year. I mean, I've been booking, working on the show for seven months,
eight months. So we have to figure out, you know, what they're singing and what's the, what the band looks like and where, you know, everything. It's just the logistics are incredible.
Buddy, I hope you're ready because we're sending you all over town. I mean, we're hitting every, you know, we're going to Miranda's bar, Dirk's bar, Blake's bar. We've got a huge stage at bicentennial mall at downtown Nashville.
We're approximately 50,000 people are going to be. We've got another stage at fifth in my second.
Broadway. I mean, we're just all over the city. So you can watch tonight from, I'm going to talk on
central terms first, seven to ten, and then the news happens, then we come back right after the news,
and then we go until 1230 central time, right? Boy, yeah, you do that better than I do. I tried.
But we're also doing an East Coast countdown and a central countdown, right? Yeah, I mean, I think
that is something that, well, first of all, we're going to do it. We're going to do it. We're
going to be all about country music. That is in Nashville, Tennessee. But the other thing I think
that makes us different is that we are doing, we're counting down the New Year's twice. We're
counting down the New Year's countdown for all of our friends on the East Coast. And then we're
also counting it down for all of us that live in the Central Time Zone. What performance do you
think people will remember and go, holy crap, I can't believe that happened? You know what? I can only
say what I'm looking forward to, but I've got Darius Rucker and Jack Brown.
are going to do hoodies, I only want to be with you.
I can't.
I mean, just putting the Zach Brown band in that sound with Darius, for me as a fan,
I'm so looking forward to that, so much.
Two of my favorite people, Brooks and Dunn are also playing.
Now, when that happens, when you get an act like Brooks and Dunn,
do these guys ever go, I want to play a new song, even though we really want, like,
the massive hits?
No, not in this particular situation.
on this.
They know what, this is a party.
You know, this is a party.
And for this particular show, we didn't have any of that.
They just, you know, they want to get out there.
And plus, Bricks and Duns performing two songs in the show.
Darius is performing three songs.
Zach Browns performing five songs.
So we just wanted to go back and have the hits.
I mean, Miranda Lambert's doing Kerosene, Jason Aldein.
Jason Aldeen is going to do, he's performing, she's country.
So, yeah, they're pulling back in their catalog, which I think is a lot of fun.
So Aldine, Jimmy Allen, Kelsey Ballerini, Gabby Barrett, Dirk's, Brooks and Dunn, Luke
Brian, Miranda, Blake, Zach Brown.
And that's just, I mean, I have an entire list here of people that are playing.
It's going to be a fantastic show tonight on CBS.
So starting at 8 Eastern, 7 Central on CBS and also Paramount Plus, if you want to watch it
over there as well.
You can, you know, I'll be doing my thing, and Robert will be with me.
So if I'm doing good, Robert gets the credit.
If I'm doing bad, it's my fault.
Right, Robert?
I am sticking with you all night.
Show.
So we're going to have fun, man.
All right, big party tonight in Nashville.
It is New Year's Eve Live, Nashville's Big Bash on CBS produced by Robert Deaton.
He's the guy.
He does the CMAs as well.
He does, what's the pop show you do?
You have been doing the American music?
Which one is that?
I do the Billboard Music Award.
That's it.
Yeah.
Good one. The good pop one. Yeah. All right. Robert, we'll see it tonight. Everybody,
please watch on CBS tonight. The other shows hate you. I'll say that. We don't.
The other shows hate it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Sure. All right, Robert, good to talk to you, buddy.
Thank you, buddy. Bye-bye. Bye-bye.

Oh, wow, that's so good, Amy.
That's a tough one, huh?
Yeah, it's really hard.
Eddie.
Come on.
Who is the winner of American Idol season one in 2002?
Oh, season one, the very first.

How many planets are there not including Pluto?
I think with Pluto it's not.
Pluto, it's nine.
So without Pluto, I think it's eight.
Correct.
Nice job.
All right, easy trivia.
Let's go another round.
Amy, what bird?
You don't like that?
Well, I just feel like now I need to get this because I'm an avid bird watcher.
Oh, it's a new hobby.
Go.
Maybe you've seen this happen.
What bird is often associated with delivering babies?
Oh, a stork.
Nice.
Do you ever see that in your bird watching?

Okay
Morgan you're up
What year was the Declaration
of Independence created
Oh boy
18
Am I far enough back
18
It's a very famous year
What year was the
Declaration of Independence created
1843?
1843
Is that your answer?
Yeah, 1843.
Why would you go with 1843?
I don't know.
It's in my head.
Don't know why.
Let's me some famous dates in American history, just period that you know.
The Pilgrims, for example.
When do they come to town?
Oh, gosh, no idea.
1492?
No, that's Christopher Columbus.
Pilgrims, we don't know.
Thanksgiving.
I'm an idiot, yeah.
The only thing I know is like Pearl Harbor, December 4th, but I don't even know that year.
1941.
December 7th.
Nice.
We're just yelling number, though.
The Declaration of Independence was created 1776.
Correct.
Morgan was wrong.
Morgan, you have been...
You've been Bow.
So, that leaves one winner.
Amy's already celebrating herself.
There's a winner.
On the Bobby Bone Show.
Happy New Year.
It's time for the good news.
With lunchbox.
Tell me something good.
Las Vegas fire got a call of an injured hiker.
They're like, oh, no big deal.
Routine, go get the hiker off the mountain.
This would be easy.
They show up, and he's up a 300-foot incline.
They're like, oh, we'll just bring the helicopter in.
Oh, no, it's starting to snow.
It's white out conditions.
No helicopter.
So they had to go old school.
They had to get ropes and pulleys and climb up the mountain,
strap this dude in who had broken his ankle
and bring him down the old-fashioned way.
Think about 300 feet, right?
That is basically a 30-story building.
Yeah.
That's how high it was up there.
Yeah.
And a straight incline, folks.
But these guys, they said, hey, don't worry about the snow.
We can't see anything.
We got this.
Got him down safely.
There it is.
I bet that guy's so thankful.
Mm-hmm.
He probably thought he's going to die.
Yeah, for sure.
That's what it's all about.
That was Tell Me Something Good.

Right before we came on the air in this segment, Amy goes, hey, if you guys will just
Just laugh. It'll go a lot better.
Yeah.
I'll tell the joke and then you just laugh.
And then it'll be fine.
We're not giving you laugh.
Yeah, she's begging for laughs off the air here.
I'm not begging. It's just laughter creates more laughter.
And then other people think, oh, yeah, that's funny.
And bones, what do we say?
We'll see.
Yeah, it was rude.
We'll play by ear.
All right, it's time for the morning corny.
Here we go.
The morning corny.
What New Year's resolution should a basketball player never make?
What New Year's resolution should a basketball player never make?
To travel more.
Okay.
That's pretty funny.
That's Amy clapping, by the way.
We didn't break.
That was the morning corny.
Let's talk to Valerie and Missouri, who's on the phone right now.
Hey, Valerie.
Thank you for calling.
What's going on?
Hey, Bobby.
So I'm getting ready to get on a plane to Florida because it's 11 degrees here with my girlfriend.
and my husband tends to get a little jealous
and I feel bad.
He doesn't go on trips like this.
You know, we need our girls' trips,
but I don't want to make him...
I feel bad most of the time,
but then I don't.
And I don't know what I should do.
Well, I think you should go on the girls' trip
if that's good for your mental health
and as long as you're not spending your grocery money
on going on the trip.
And I think you could do a couple things with him.
One, you could explain to him why it's good for you
and he still may be like, I'm jealous.
Or you could encourage him to go do something with his guys.
I mean, he doesn't think you're going to, like,
Rino's banana ham.
Hammock Club, right?
Right. No, I hope not.
Yeah. They may be going, though.
Well, my only encouragement to you is to go, hey, yeah, I know I'm going on this.
Let's plan something for you and Tom.
You and Trent and Tom can go off and play golf and just as something that he needs to do as well.
That's what I would encourage you to do.
I encourage him to do that, but he never, he's not a, he doesn't jump into things like I do with my friends.
like we're kind of like life is short go have fun and he's more reserved and you know well then can
I ask of you to set something up for him that he then feels obligated to do but then we'll have a lot
of fun doing it because I'm the same way if someone does something for me I'm like oh man
please don't do anything for me I don't want to burden you but when they do it and they're like no
I got this for you this is it go get it I'm like okay well since you've already paid for it
I'm gonna go do it like if you can do that I think you can do that I think you can do that I
think that would probably get him a bit out of that
shell that he's in? Yeah, that makes sense.
What are you guys doing on this trip anyway?
It's a girls' trip in Florida?
Yeah, we're going to go to Tampa and do what we do.
We shop and we like to do the escape rooms.
Those are always fun and go to the beach and we just hang out.
We talk inappropriate and have a good time.
Oh, nice.
So record that, send it over to Ray.
I'll play that back on the show Monday.
Okay.
I'm just kidding.
All right.
Have a good day, Valerie.
Good luck with that husband.
All right.
with Russell Dickerson.
You know, Russell, I was thinking, as you came in and here you have, what, four number ones in a row?
That's right, right.
You walk in, you have nobody with you.
You have no record label person.
You have no manager.
And I'm saying this in the most loving, like, respectful way.
You have no crew.
You showed up and I was like, hey, I see Russell in the green room.
Where's his people?
And they're like, no, no, he just rolled up by himself.
That's it, bro.
That's amazing.
Yeah.
I don't know that anybody's done that.
No.
Really?
I don't know.
It feels weird to bring people.
like, hey, man, come on.
Like, we all got to roll deep.
Your labels, though, would be like, hey, we need to go with you and make sure Bobby doesn't do anything stupid.
Right.
You know, that happens.
We've done this enough times, though, you know?
I'm just saying, I find it oddly refreshing that you walked in here all alone.
And I was like, is Russell already?
I don't see his people there.
And they're like, he's by himself.
Also, let me say this in the most respectful way.
You're jacked.
What?
Really?
Look at him.
Isn't he huge?
Yeah.
I'm serious.
It's like, it's pressing against it.
It's like when you push it up, you know?
I see you.
on Instagram and you do your dad bod workout whatever you call him.
Dad bod wad.
He did a show.
He was doing some.
A workout of the day.
Some kind of Instagram showerhead thing.
He was selling a shower head or something.
And he had a shirt off and I hit him up.
I'm not about the shower head.
I was like, dude.
Who knew you had those abs?
Am I going a little too hard on his body right now?
No.
I mean, I'm sure he enjoys it.
Oh, just bring it.
Is there a shower head we need in our lives?
Is a speaker or something, right?
Yeah.
The Kohler.
It's like Kohler.
And legit, like within the showerhead as a Bluetooth speaker, that sounds fantastic.
And then when you're done, pop it out, take it over to the sink.
It's legit.
Interesting.
Yeah.
The guy's 6'4 and he's ripped up.
I'm just amazed.
I want to play a couple clips here.
He's got a bunch of number ones in a row.
You guys may know yours.
Here you go.
Blue Tacoma.
Every little thing.
Love you like I used to
I don't love you like I used to
This kid
You're still a morning person
With the baby?
It's made me more of a morning person
This guy wakes up and he's like
You know in Oklahoma
Oh, what a beautiful morning
Like that?
That's literally him every day of his life
He wakes up like SpongeBob
He's like this is the greatest day ever
He's always in a good mood
Russell brought his guitar
So we're going to play some song
As we interview here
Russell Dickerson doing a little bit of
Love You like I used to
Girl, I've always loved you.
But something's changed.
Blame it on time, the road will the ride, but it ain't the same.
Because it's a different kind of feeling.
Not the one I knew.
From the sweet on your lips to how your hand of mind fits.
Girl, I've always loved you, but I don't love you like I used to.
This gets better every time you kiss me like this.
It's stronger the longer I'm with you.
More than every single day before.
Did you know I could ever love you more than I did?
Baby, I do.
I don't love you like I used to.
Russell Dickerson here, all six foot four of them.
You know, I was thinking, because we had this doctor.
on who can extend height.
What?
Now, what happens, why he originally studied it because people get an accident, so they're
born with something, and they can fix that by equalling things.
But then it's turned into a cosmetic surgery where there was a guy who was 5-11 went in,
paid $75,000, he's $6.1 now.
For two inches?
For two inches.
Now, the doctor told me I could get six inches, didn't he?
Five.
And that would be taller than you.
Yeah.
For how much, though?
Is it like 75?
Oh, no.
It starts at 75.
Right.
So that would be 75 times three.
Yeah, so, oh, he's going to do the math. Go ahead.
No, I don't have it.
I don't have that.
The Friday morning conversation with Russell Dickerson.
He's here. He's playing songs for us.
We're talking about new music.
He's got four number ones in a row.
You're just killing it.
Do you feel like that it took forever to kill it?
Because, again, you're one of the guys that had no money and were grinding, no label.
I mean, or do you feel like it was like a climb that you kind of felt momentum
them the entire time. No, dude, there were, there were moments, like, early on. Like, I started off
like 2010, 11, and, uh, man, playing for any, I mean, $250 to drive to Omaha, Nebraska and play
a dorm room lobby that only the RAs are there because they have to be there. And then,
and then, but not just that random, but that happening like time after time after time again,
like you pull up to a show, you're like, all right, maybe this one will be different.
Maybe there'll be some people there.
And then they're like, oh, yeah, you're actually playing in the cafeteria today.
And so, like, in a concrete cafeteria with, like, there's a giant brick building.
And everybody's like, dear, please stop.
Full band.
Like, drums, everything.
They're like, just please.
Like, we're trying to eat lunchday, please.
I'll pay you to not play.
So there have been times like that along the way.
You know the song I like to hear when it comes on the radio is that Blue Tacoma.
That's a good one, huh?
Yep.
What if Amy said no?
How hilarious would that be?
She was like,
No, not my favorite.
She's like, I've heard better, honestly.
Blue Tacoma.
I don't get it.
Let's do a little bit of Blue Tacoma.
Why is it blue?
Wheels rolling on an old Toyota,
twist top on a sun kiss soda.
Your brown hair in that West Coast win.
If heaven is anywhere,
90s hit's at the top of our lungs.
Shuffling and I'll steal the one.
Missing turns because that's our star.
song. If heaven is anywhere, it's in a blue Tacoma, California, white magnolia in your hair, raise the gold is shining on you.
Ooh, if heaven is anywhere, he's never running out of golden road. Are we having your handle hold in a blue Tacoma, California.
Ooh, if heaven is anywhere, it's right here. Nice. He held it.
it out too for us.
It's a small crowd, but you played it hard.
That's what I like.
You went fully in.
Dude, you got to envision.
Small crowd.
You know, I like every little thing,
because it's the most upbeat of your hits, I think, is it?
Oh, yeah, for sure.
Have a little, heavy, right?
Yeah.
Yeah, that's a good one.
Where do you put that in the set list?
Oh, man.
Usually, that's like the bring it back up kind of thing, you know?
So you knock them down, then you take them back up with that one.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
All right.
You want to play a little bit of that for us?
Absolutely.
Here is Russell Dickerson.
Another number one.
Another one.
Another one.
Another one.
My baby, b'bibiu.
My baby, she's Alabama.
My Dixieland delight.
She kissing me like molasses.
Slow and sweet.
Uh-huh.
Just right.
Endless all year summer.
Sunshine 365.
But when she forgets the punchline,
it still gets me every time.
Sing it.
Because I love every little, every little, every little,
Every little thing about her love
And just a little, just a little, just a little
Ain't enough
I gotta get her, gotta get a little more
about she does
I'm all hung up yeah
Cause I love
Every little, every little
Every little thing about her love
Yeah, there he is, Russell Dickerson
You know, here's why we didn't sing it
When you said sing it
because this is the problem we have on this show.
Sometimes artists come in and inside their natural repertoire
of things they say in the middle of songs, they'll go,
okay, you do it.
They don't really mean for us to do it.
And then we start doing it, and they're shocked
that somebody's yelling back.
So we just don't.
So when you're like, sing it, we didn't know if you normally say that then
or if you wanted us to sing it.
Both, but also the listeners too, you know, wherever.
Oh, in their car.
Okay, fair enough.
Let's do it again.
And we sing it.
And this time we'll sing it with him.
We're allowed.
We're allowed.
Have at it.
Every mic up.
All of them.
All of them.
All of them.
One, two, three.
Because I love.
Every little, every little, every little thing about your love.
Just a little, just a little.
Got to get it, got to get it.
Got a little more love she does.
I don't know these words.
Because I love.
Because I love.
Every little.
Every little, every little, every little, every little thing about us.
I knew 90% of them.
I just know melodies.
When songs come on the radio, I'm like,
Gabel-a-loop.
So that's another reason why we don't sing along?
We don't know every word.
Okay.
At Russell E.D.
Russell D was taken, so I just put my middle initial in there, too.
Russell E.D.
What's he being funny?
Well, I asked him that, too.
I was like, what medical condition are you referring to here, Russell?
Oh, I saw some article that said,
If you put your middle initial when you are announcing your name that you instantly are perceived as more intellectual.
Or we hear erectile dysfunction.
It's one of those.
Either I'm smart or have trouble.
No, if you were to be like, hi, I'm Russell E. Dickerson.
Absolutely.
Right?
You sound smarter.
What's your middle initial?
E. Amy E. Brown.
I just got smarter.
But it's like, wait, I was like, did you just stutter or was that?
Amy E. Amy E.
Elizabeth.
That's funny.
All right.
Russell Dickerson is here.
Let me encourage you guys, check out Southern Symphony.
You know I love you.
Russell Dickerson.
I love you, bro.
Good to see you, buddy.
Yes, thanks for having me.
Let's clap them out and sing without the guitar, every little thing.
Here we go.
And I love every little, every little, every little thing about your love.
Just a little, just a little.
Just a little damn for that some money.

It's time for the good news.
Man, this is a good one.
Three nights a week, you will find North Charleston High School principal, Henry Darby, hard at work at his local Walmart Supercenter.
The South Carolina School Administrator and County Councilman has another job working from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. stocking shelves, and it gets off with just enough time to get to campus before the morning bell.
But he didn't take that job for himself. He's doing it to help low-income students at his school and their families.
The principal says the kids will need help, and that's part of the reason he works so hard,
is, you know, he wants to help provide for them some financial.
He wants to lead by example.
They also started to go fund me campaign to add to his efforts.
So he's like, hey, I'm doing this.
And it's inspire people to help out with the same idea in mind.
That's awesome.
Isn't that crazy?
This guy goes to work three nights a week, stocking shelves overnight.
By the way, I used to stock shelves of Hobby Lobby.
In the middle of the day, and it stunk.
Yeah.
People were there.
Yeah.
This guy's doing it overnight and going to school.
Yeah.
So Henry Darby, that's amazing, and that is what it's all about.

So he got on his tractor, and he went out and started trying to flip their vehicles with the tractor.
Oh, oh yeah.
And police arrived, gave him a test.
Alcohol was involved.
vehicle flipping?
He tried with the...
What kind of tractor was that?
It was a skid steer.
It's the one with the forks on the front.
He's trying to flip the car over.
