Two reality television shows are in the works that will give contestants a chance to head into space. Space
Starting point is 00:02:59 Space. How far? I don't care. I mean, that sounds miserable to me. Who wants to be an astronaut will give us winners all expenses paid trip to the International Space Station
Starting point is 00:03:11 for eight days and Space Hero has secured a seat into space with Axiom Space Schedule for 2023. Who wants to be an astronaut has taken applications while Space Hero
Starting point is 00:03:22 won't even open applications until December 21st. I mean, it's kind of cool, though. I can't believe you guys don't want, not an ounce of you wants to go to space. Then sign up for the show, Eddie. 1% maybe. I don't, I can't because I have kids. I don't want to die
Starting point is 00:03:35 up there. But look at all the people that have gone and haven't died yet. I would assume most astronauts had kids. Yeah. But they dedicated their whole life to that. Those astronauts, they were going to be astronauts and they were astronauts. If they came to me at Net, Gio, and said, breaking bobby bones, we want
Starting point is 00:03:51 to send you to space. Yeah. Space edition. You would have to do it. I'd do it. For sure. Why would you do it then? because it's for his TV show basically I don't want to do it for any personal reason but I didn't want to do half that crap I did right I hated hanging over the Grand Canyon on a rope
Starting point is 00:04:07 like I don't know if you guys could tell from that first episode which you can watch on Disney Plus right now that's the most scared I think I've ever been in my life physically and it's not even close I couldn't think of another time when I was more scared to where I had a whole internal dialogue
Starting point is 00:04:25 of okay are you going to do do this. Yes. Okay. Well, if you are going to do it, just do it and get it over with. Because at some point, you're going to do it. And at some point, it's going to suck. So why not do it now and have more of your day? Because, and a little bit, it's like working out. Much different. I don't fear for my life while working out. But if I'm like, am I going to work out today? Yep. Okay, well, I can spend the next two hours going, God, dread working out. And that two hours sucks. And so does the hour I spend working out. or I can just go work out right now and I say myself two hours of dread
Starting point is 00:04:59 and so after a while I was like you just have to get out there just go and when I let myself go and the first time it hangs me over the cliff and they shoot me to the other side is awful and then what you didn't see on the show which I don't know if I've said this I may have on the air Mike the guy was with his camera broke
Starting point is 00:05:15 on his helmet his GoPro goes soo breaks off and falls into the canyon oh I don't know that you've said that that would be scary to watch oh it wasn't scary to watch It was, we've got to put a new camera on Mike's helmet. It's going to take about 40 minutes. So I'm hanging up there.
Starting point is 00:05:31 And I'm not dramatic. I'm the easiest guy to work with. I just want efficiency, especially when I feel like I'm going to die. In about 10 minutes of me just hanging there, I was like, guys, let's go. I'm not waiting for an hour hanging here. And they can't hear me and me yelling
Starting point is 00:05:47 because I'm over off this thing, but I do have a mic. I'm like, guys, if we don't go in like the next 20 minutes, I'm coming down. Like you heard me say it. I'm coming down. and so somehow they got that camera to them and fixed up pretty quickly but yeah if you guys
Starting point is 00:06:01 want to go to space good for you I don't want to but I would if NetGio said hey let's do that I don't even know if we're getting a season two yet now that COVID's fluttering back up remember last year when COVID hit they just started canceling productions yes that is a concern they are not even going to evaluate
Starting point is 00:06:21 until after the second drop of episodes which comes out on the 11th So it's like, please don't like COVID get worse. Hopefully people watch it streaming on Disney Plus. It's just a whole thing where you hope the timing isn't wrong. But yeah, it's up now. We love if you guys watched it on Disney Plus. There's another TV show, Cobra Kai, the season four trailer has been released.
Starting point is 00:06:43 I do like Cobra Kai a lot. Are you all caught up on that? And it's extremely cheesy. But it's a show that it's so cheesy that I'm still into it. I can get past the cheese. I don't even remember seeing the karate kid, movie. What do you mean? I think I have, but sometimes they show throwback clips and I'm like, I don't remember
Starting point is 00:06:58 that. Really? Yeah, I feel like I saw parts of it as a kid. Wax on, wax off. I remember that. I remember that. And I must have watched it when I was very young, but I don't have, you know, for me, it's not nostalgia just dripping over me as I watch it. I just kind of like the show. Again, pretty dopey at times. Who's watched it? I've seen. All three? Who's watched all of it? No, not me. No, no. Am I the only one? Mike of you? Yeah. All of it? You like it? Yeah. Me too.
Starting point is 00:07:24 Do you realize that's really cheesy? It's cheesy, yeah. I was watching a trailer for the new Suicide Squad. Can you help me? Because one's called Suicide Squad. One's called The Suicide Squad. Yeah. It's basically them redoing the first one.
Starting point is 00:07:40 But isn't the girl? Harley Quinn, yes. She's in both. She's in both. They brought her back, but all the other characters are new. But do we know that they had it? When we watched the second one, do we know they had a first one? No, it stands on its own.
Starting point is 00:07:52 But they do have one same character. That's weird. Yeah, it is weird. Them remaking it not so weird. Them remaking it that quick is weird. Them remaking it that quick with one character the same, but not the rest. Because she's the best character. That's odd.
Starting point is 00:08:05 Yeah. But it's on HBO Plus now. Max now and at theaters. HBO Plus. Oh, boy. It's hard to keep up. John Deere is investing in self-driving tractors, which is interesting. I'm going to get John Pardy on, talk about that.
Starting point is 00:08:20 That's pretty cool, though. I mean, everything's going to be self-driving. I've said this before on the show. that once the government can figure out how to save money or make money, it's over. And so everything will be self-driving 10 to 15 years. Once cars start to be built with them, it's kind of over. Because people get a new car, I think I read this morning, every five to seven years. So once cars start to be built on the front end of it, you go and go about 10 years, and that's what's going to be.
Starting point is 00:08:50 So John Deere's putting out self-driving tractors. I mean, I like the tractors because what are they going to? run into another field but what's like but they're gonna be cars with self-driving is gonna be safer than cars with human drivers i know but for a while there there's gonna be self-driving cars with human driving cars at the same time yes and in california it's already happening yeah so that's what's what you're like worst nightmare scenarios already happening yeah but i'm not living it yeah i agree it is weird and that's why people look at me side-eye when i say that i'm like yeah but it's going to be what happens it's like movie theaters i mean listen a few years ago i was like give a 10 years
Starting point is 00:09:23 movie theaters aren't even going to be really a thing like you're going to go it's going to be for the novelty of it but most people are going to be watching it from their house it had to be COVID to make that happen a little earlier but do we ever see movie theaters going back to what they were probably what do you mean like what they were well you'd have to go watch a new movie at a theater yeah well that's done and now people release it both ways you have to pay more at home but maybe but not as much as you would have paid at the theater probably you have to pay more at home if for the one single purchase but if you're going to the theater with a couple people. Yeah. It's actually cheaper. For sure. Especially if you have to make it a, because of food too. Yes. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:10:00 Speaking of movies, The Weekends Take My Breath is pulled from IMAX screenings over seizure concerns, which. Strobe lighting? Yes, and it makes me want to see it now. Like, I didn't even know what it was. Is this a song? Yeah. Came out today.
Starting point is 00:10:15 The weekend's newest music video is being pulled from IMAX screens over seizure concerns. The video project for his new hit, Take My Breath, was set to play before screenings of the Suicide Squad. You're watching Suicide Squad tonight? I am. In theater? Yep. Oh, not at HBO Max? No. I want to see it in theaters. He likes the cinema.
Starting point is 00:10:33 Yeah, he's a movie Mike. I get it, but I like movie Mike at home. That's probably me. But yeah, now I'm interested to see this the weekend, like more than ever. I'd like to see this now. Like when they do those anime movies in anime, doesn't that give kids seizures sometimes?
Starting point is 00:10:50 Yeah, I think that happened with the Pokemon episode. Pokemon is what it is. That's not the same thing. Well, it's technically anime. It is, right? Yeah. Guys cope with stress by playing video games. That's the news story.
Starting point is 00:11:02 And I think this is medicine we're talking about here. Everybody has a different way of coping with stress. Sure. Research shows that video games are among the most popular ways that guys cope with relationship or life stress. It has shown to be the biggest distractor for men, which is great when you're trying to take your mind off other issues. Other ways guys cope, watching sports,
Starting point is 00:11:22 or going to the bar. Going to the bar, probably not. I'm not, I mean, alcohol probably is used for stress management. For sure. But probably isn't the healthiest. Yeah. But I can, if I had a weird, clunky day or even a bad day, and I don't let a lot of those, even if they're bad, I can find usually something in it that has happened.
Starting point is 00:11:41 How they're positive where I can learn from? But if it's just a bad day, I'll go and fire up the PlayStation. I've got two games. I'll play NBA 2K, some. But if I know if I do that, I'm going to be back on it for a month. It's kind of like gateway back in. But I've got a fishing game that I play You do?
Starting point is 00:11:56 Where you go to the lake, get your lure, and you just go out and you try to catch fish. Fun. I'm not very good at it. But I get it and I play it. Is this the one where you, like, the tension could get too high
Starting point is 00:12:06 and the line can pop if you don't control it right? Yes, with the fish. Put the fish on, yeah. So. My kids play that one, but... I think video games get a bad rap. But if it's a stress reliever, your doctor just wrote you a note,
Starting point is 00:12:20 basically, about me telling you this story. Yeah, but if you're... No, you're doing stress reliever. for six hours in a row. Well, that means you're really stressed out in life. Yes. Or you're numbing out. And you must release.
Starting point is 00:12:29 And you must release the stress. That is correct. Amy, how's your new cat doing? She's doing okay. What do you mean? I don't know. She's, well, we love her. And she's just been a great addition,
Starting point is 00:12:41 but I'm just eager to kind of get things normal around the house with the dog and the cat and maybe integrated, you know. But she's trapped up in Stasheera's room. And she's a little diva because we ran out of cat litter So just went to the pet store and got a different kind of cat litter that I thought would be okay. And then I guess she didn't like it.
Starting point is 00:12:59 So she was no longer going in her litter box and decided she used a bathroom all over Stasheera's room. Oh. Which was awesome. So went back to the store, got the cat litter she was used to, which was a little bit pricier. Put it in and voila, problem solved. She went back in the litter box. And I'm like, you little diva, I didn't know cats could tell the difference in litter. All looks the same to me.
Starting point is 00:13:21 Once that cat gets good, you'll forget the litter. bad times. It's like Stanley. He was out of control for two years. A year and a half. Had a bunch of surgeries. Couldn't get him right because he couldn't put any discipline on him. He would run and just he loved to like chew on things, even feet of humans. Eddie would come
Starting point is 00:13:37 over. He'd try to bite your feet. Oh yeah. I remember that. He's great now. He's like, but we don't, now it's like we don't even remember all the drama we had with them. But it sucks to get through that part. With Ella, we're still getting through it. She poop in the shower a couple days ago. Oh. At least it was in the shower. You can just rinse it off.
Starting point is 00:13:53 Yeah. I had to pick it up. Okay. Yeah, no, you can't, it wasn't rents. Okay. But Stanley had those issues, too. And as I'm getting irritated with the elder sometimes, Caitlin's like, hey, let's not forget. Stanley was the Tasmanian devil for 18 months.
Starting point is 00:14:07 So that stuff, it'll pass and then it'll just be awesome and fine. We do all that with kids too, guys. Oh, I know. It's always like, you know, oh, my gosh, why is he acting like? Don't forget. That one did the same thing. Really? Or he was worse with that.
Starting point is 00:14:18 What's happening at school now? Are you guys doing, like, Zoom teacher meetings? Are you going up there now? No, everything's in person. It is? Yeah, everything's in person. We went, even last night, there was a teacher meet the teacher night or whatever. And it was all mad.
Starting point is 00:14:33 I would say 70% of the people were masked. Really? And then other people weren't. It's just kind of whatever you wanted to do. But it was fun. You got to meet the teacher. The kids got to meet their new teacher, which we didn't do when I grew up. When I was growing up, I didn't really go before the first day of school to meet the teacher.
Starting point is 00:14:51 Yeah, but when you grew up, you took a cover wagon to school. But that's what it seems like to the kids now And even us, we're getting older Yeah, we are getting way older But how'd I go It was good I think I may have gone a little too far with it Because I thought it was more of like
Starting point is 00:15:05 All right, I'm going to meet the teacher Let me give him a heads up Of like my kid comes with a little bit of problems Like this one this one over here He thinks he knows what he's talking about He's a no it all He really doesn't So watch out with that
Starting point is 00:15:17 And then my wife's like nudging me like You just why are you saying all this stuff And I'm like I'm just giving the teacher heads up. This one, he gets distracted easy. Make sure he's focused. But I don't know. I thought I was helping the teacher out. And I think they appreciated it. All of, I guess, three of your four kids are in school?
Starting point is 00:15:35 Three of them, yes. Oh, and the baby's going to like a pre-pre-prischool. Is that cool for your wife now? Because she's going to have some time for just herself? Yeah. It's cool for us. Or is she sad? A little bit of both. A little bit of both because she loves having the baby around all day.
Starting point is 00:15:50 But at the same time, man, I'm going to get off at 11. maybe noon, and then we'll have a little date two hours, you know, maybe go out to lunch to her and I. You know you'll do that once and then sleep every other time. Probably. Morgan says that naturally because it's Facebook, we have a lot of people mad at us or just being mean in recent days. Here's some of the trolls commenting at us. And so she has gathered a list of troll comments. We cannot do this segment.
Starting point is 00:16:21 or I can just read them to you a Morgan curated troll list. Up to you guys. Is it Mental Health Friday and we pass on it? I mean, whatever. Number one. Taking home leftovers is not stealing with the exclamation port
Starting point is 00:16:37 in regards to Shira's food situation at the wedding. This is an instance where people don't know that we're talking about it in a somewhat lighthearted way. That's somewhat like 100%. Did I ever accuse your daughter of stealing? The only thing I ever said was she stole something as a tease to get into the bit.
Starting point is 00:16:51 Then when we did the bit, she did, but it was funny because it was steak. Because she thought the steak at our wedding was the best steak ever. Yeah, she took a cloth napkin, and I'm sure, in my mind, I was like, more worried about the napkin than the steak, because it was from probably a rental company, and I'm like, oh, gosh. But she needed a way to transport steak. Another one. Pub subs are Florida's food in regards to stupid scuba steve saying they weren't.
Starting point is 00:17:12 Oh. I don't know what that means. I just said a bunch of words. Pub. That's public subs. The pub is like a short for Publix. Oh, got it. Got it.
Starting point is 00:17:21 And I didn't feel like... They're good. They're good. And I feel like, yes, at one point in time, they were synonymous for Florida, but they've expanded outside Florida. So I feel like it's more than that. I feel like it's Gator. Gator's unique to Florida.
Starting point is 00:17:32 In regards to Ronnie Dunn playing Neon Moon at our wedding. You're so stupid. This is not a wedding song. We know. We said that. And it wasn't a first dance song. It's like, and Rascal Flats did Pass Cars and Freedom. I'm not a wedding song either.
Starting point is 00:17:47 That's just a song that made everybody have a good time. People play YMCA at their wedding. That's not a wedding song? Dan and Shea played our wedding song, our first dance song, forever. And then it was like friends had volunteered to play, and then what he was going to play? Well, we like to slow dance to Neon Moon.
Starting point is 00:18:02 And this is probably the greatest Brooks and Dunn song ever. And so I was like, yeah, no problem. I'll sing it. And then Gary was like, I should probably sing Bless the Broken Road at the wedding. And then Caitlin's like, yeah, my favorite song is Fast Carls on Freedom. He's like, well, I'll do both. And so he did.
Starting point is 00:18:17 And so shut up. Bones, we never talked about, did you watch the band when they were playing with Ronnie Dunn? Because it was just a wedding band that you hired, right? Yeah, really good wedding band. Like great musicians from Nashville. But then Ronnie Dunn is singing with them. And I don't know if they've ever done that before, but you could just see in their eyes like, this is cool. We're the band playing to Ronnie Dunn's music.
Starting point is 00:18:39 We've experienced that with Ronnie Doe. He came to practice and we're like, holy crap. Greatest Brooks and Dunn's song, though, in your opinion? I'm still going to go with Neal Moon. neon moon. Oh yeah, neon moon. Oh, everybody feels same? Although my Maria's pretty good. My Maria's the gym. Yeah. Why does it matter so much? Let the person remain
Starting point is 00:19:01 anonymous. Good grief in regards to the $1,000 tip. Yeah, I know. We just chase it down because we like to investigate stuff. It's fun. Yeah. No other reason. We figured out who it is. It's in this show today. If you go back and hear the show. So there's some stuff there. I think Morgan, we should like hire a counselor for Morgan to talk to just because she has to stay on the Facebook page. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:20 And look at comments. It's like a prison counselor. Yeah, right? Someone that has to be in the prisons all the time. I might go over there twice a year. I'm saying that to our own Facebook page, I might go twice a year. I look at the B-Team page every day. They get after us a little bit now.
Starting point is 00:19:37 Sometimes they get after us a little bit. Yeah. But that's okay. Whatever. But that, just Facebook is not the place for me in general. It is not good. It is not good. There's a new Bobby cast up today with Shy Carter and Lisa Loeb, which is super cool.
Starting point is 00:19:56 For example, if you want to know about Lisa Loeb, she was huge in the 90s, but she did stay. Here's a clip of stay. She also had a big hit in 1995 called Do You Sleep? So it's a great talk where she does talk. I'm not going to play the clip here, but she talks about why she was never invited back to play David Letterman again. Something happened on the show, and she was like, they were wrong, but they never invited us back even though I told him this did not happen. Wow.
Starting point is 00:20:34 So it's in there. So check out the Bobbycast. We talk about new music. It's not done yet because we haven't done the new music for today, have we? We haven't. We'll do that when this is over and then we'll upload it. At least a lobe, shy Carter today. On the bobbycast. So there is that. See if there's anything else. I think next week a lot of people are asking, we never talked about the Bachelor Party.
Starting point is 00:20:53 We may bring that up next week. Eddie suggested a good bit too. And I think we'll end on this bit because I'll like it. he said, do we like this new artist or nah? And at first I was like, oh, that's rough, because a lot of new artists, a lot of songs in general now, I just don't care about.
Starting point is 00:21:11 It's the same stuff, feels regurgitated. I did text Scott Borchetta yesterday, who is wildly powerful in Nashville because he owns record labels, just a big deal. But they just signed Tierra to a deal. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:21:27 And I haven't talked to Scott in a year, maybe pre-pandemic. It's not like Scott and our buddies or anything. We know each other. But I text him and I was like, hey, I don't give crap about people. It's all the same stuff coming out right now. I said, but you sign a Tierra?
Starting point is 00:21:40 Like, she's awesome. And everything about her feels different and fresh. And so I said, and he was like, hey, man, thanks. We're really, really pumped about that. So she's been on this show. She did the talk show I do from the house. On time?
Starting point is 00:21:52 On time with Bobby Bones. She's just fantastic. We tried to get her to come to Bobby Fest, but she's on her bachelor's party. Oh. I know. I reached out to her. I was like,
Starting point is 00:21:58 We will pay you. Come do these shows with us, but she was on her bachelor's party. So congratulations to Tierra. She got a record deal. Pretty cool. But Eddie said, did we like this new artist or not?
Starting point is 00:22:08 And his name is Sam Riggs. And the reason you saw it, I saw it too. He bought billboards in town. Yeah. Yeah. So I saw the billboard, and then I did research,
Starting point is 00:22:16 and he doesn't have a label. He's not a big major label guy. I think, I mean, I don't know the story behind it, but it seems like this guy is just making that extra leap and saying,
Starting point is 00:22:25 I'm going to get billboards. And I think he's only promoting a show, Not even like an album. Is that right? Yeah. So, I mean, I think it's so bold of him. I mean, definitely got his name out. I've seen these billboards before, too, from people.
Starting point is 00:22:37 And it just kind of am like, all right, spend some good money on that. I hope it works out for you. How much, on average, are they paying for a billboard? Is it digital? No, it's just a regular one. This is a static billboard for a month, if I'm just guessing where it is, $7,000, $8,000.
Starting point is 00:22:54 Wow, that's quite the investment. That's so much. Digital, two, maybe. I mean, they did a bunch of breaking-a-b-bill-billard buys. Some were static, some were digital. And I could be wrong on that, depending on the placement of the billboard. Well, I also felt, too, like, if he's buying himself a billboard
Starting point is 00:23:08 or if whatever, his little company's buying a billboard, they believe in this music. Okay, here is Sam Riggs. I haven't heard this yet. His first song is, I don't listen to the radio. Wait, what? I don't listen to the radio. All right, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:23:59 Better enough I thought it was going to be pretty good, huh? The production's good. A lot of the independent artists, They can't really pay for a good producer because it's expensive. Yeah. You know, to get a song cut with somebody good, it's like six grand. Like to go in and that sounds pretty good. Yeah, I agree.
Starting point is 00:24:14 Nice job, Sam Riggs. I don't listen to the radio. Let's hear Wasteland from Sam Riggs. Pretty good, pretty rocking. Very rocking. I mean, it makes Al Dine's rocking sound like JV. Right. Yeah, he's rocking hard and still country.
Starting point is 00:24:51 You imagine this with Piro? Oh, no. I'm looking at an image of Sam on, like, I don't know, Google images right now, and he's on stage with a guitar that's on fire. Oh, he's that guy. Yeah. His Instagram says singer-songwriter, Aviator, looks like he flies planes,
Starting point is 00:25:06 adventurer, Rook's dad, I get things off the top shelf for, I guess it's his wife, new album, Dark Sky Out Now. He does not follow me, I'm slightly offended. Oh, man. Just slightly.
Starting point is 00:25:19 He needs to do that. No, no, just slightly, not fully, just slightly. But, uh, He kind of looks like... Is Rook a kid or is Rook a dog? I would imagine it's a... Oh, I don't know, it's a good question. He's got a lot of tattoos.
Starting point is 00:25:33 He's got a kid on his back. Okay. I'm just scrolling through. I don't know who he looks like. He sounds like he'd have a good storyline. He looks kind of like... He looks like Parker... Oh, yeah?
Starting point is 00:25:44 Oh, I feel like in one shot where he had this trucker hat thing on, he looked like Parker McCollum. Nobody looks like Parker McCollum. Don't offend Parker McCollum. Well, they're both very... They look like good-looking guys. He is really cool.
Starting point is 00:25:55 I like Parker McColl. Yeah, he's a ripped up dude. You guys check out Sam Riggs. Maybe stream it up a little bit today. Pretty cool. Yeah, it's good. I don't listen to the radio and wasteland of the two songs that we played there.
Starting point is 00:26:06 I had the idea, too, because I don't know, like a few months back I saw a girl that was on the same billboard, and I drove by too fast and I couldn't get her name. And when I drove back the next day, it was gone. So I had to wait for Sam Riggs to do a billboard. I think that's cool. I think, you know, we don't do it a lot,
Starting point is 00:26:22 but I found a waiter. It was like, hey, let me listen to you. You're good? Oh, come and play the show.
