Starting point is 00:02:14 Why do you think that is? I don't know. I thought you had that follicolitis. Maybe that's it. That's right. I get weird ones. It's so sore, and I lay on my back, and it hurts to lay there. But it's only one. But I can eat anything, right? Food, you eat. Right, hormones.
Starting point is 00:02:30 I'm always hormonal. no difference there. It's killing me. Some people get back pain and they do this thing I'm doing right now where they put their hand on their back like like real back pain. Yeah, yeah, with me it's a pimple.
Starting point is 00:02:41 It's your pimple. I'm like, oh. I'm fine, it's just my pimple. I kind of am, I stuffed up a little bit this morning and I take allergy medicine every single morning. It's to the point where it's annoying because I got to get up and go
Starting point is 00:02:51 then I go, and then I take this one pill, a while the pill, then I take another pill, and then I got to wait, I come home and take another one. That put a sublingle. It's just a whole process
Starting point is 00:03:00 with my allergies. Yeah. Not that I have to do it, but I just don't want to get crushed with allergies. So I'm constantly doing things that maybe improve my odds by 12% that I don't get an allergy attack. It's preventative. So I'm rocking all this stuff. I had a good point. Oh, I got it.
Starting point is 00:03:18 I'm all clogged up. It's not allergies. I was swimming yesterday at the pool, went to the Y and was swimming. And you guys were making fun of me a little bit because I don't do those flips underwater that well. Yeah, yeah, like the pros. Yeah. and so I was practicing and I got
Starting point is 00:03:33 I mean I think water's in my brain like it went out my nose I kept because the problem is when you flip like you take your head and you flip down into the water all that water goes right up your nose hole
Starting point is 00:03:43 right and about eight times in a row it's still kind of in my nose and in my throat right now and sometimes I can't get out of my ears I go to the dressing room and the locker room and I'm shaking
Starting point is 00:03:53 and it just didn't come out of my ears and then like an hour and a half later or I go and you hear it just kind of oh yeah I love that feeling I don't because it takes an hour and a half to get it out. But when it releases. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:05 You should get one of those clips for your noses, bones, like the... Swimmers don't... If I had one of those on, I go with a close pen. I get a close pen on my nose. But I swim yesterday, and I swam the same amount, a little bit more than I did the last time, like about a half mile. But I swam it so much better than the time before. Good. You're already making improvement.
Starting point is 00:04:23 Gross. I'm about ready for the Olympics, I think. Although there was this one guy, this old guy's probably like 80, next to me. large, really large old man and probably too small of shorts. And he was crushing me. Just, like, no effort at all.
Starting point is 00:04:39 Just swam. Well, you can't have the shorts, bog him down. No, but I'm just telling you, all of them. He was way older, way larger, and in tiny little shorts, and just crushing it. So, I guess that's kind of my new fascination. Swimming with old people.
Starting point is 00:04:55 It's just swimming. All the people are older than why. Yeah. Not like... I'm not all. we go there. My kids swim. They're young. I don't, not my why. Do you go to the downtown one?
Starting point is 00:05:05 They do go to that way. I didn't see them there. Because they haven't been the two times that you've gone. I've been twice. I ain't seen anybody there except old people that were. Sorry. I told you almost got to fight with some old lady. Yeah. Oh, someone's watching on the post show, pre-show, and they go, you got to blow air out as you do a flip turn. I did. I went. And then I turn over, and I'm underwater, and I've already blown it out. And you can't bring it back in?
Starting point is 00:05:28 You can't breathe in a water. Because then I can't There's like an hour with no breath And then I'll die Do you want me to die? No That's what I did Yeah, I swam
Starting point is 00:05:36 And then we had band practice last night For our We're playing A headlining of fare In Hutchinson Kansas Which is right by Wichita And it's Kansas State Fair And so we are
Starting point is 00:05:46 The band The full band Has been together in a while So we practiced last night And kind of went over some songs For about Three hours we did Oh wow
Starting point is 00:05:54 Well we just have to run through everything And Morgan number two says she's going to the fair But you're not going with us Yeah, I'm gonna be at the show Just flying separately I was like you can ride the bus with this She's like I can't
Starting point is 00:06:09 Dog So Is that the reason you're not riding with us on the bus? Yeah Because the dog She got to fly home with me So Do they let her sit in your lap?
Starting point is 00:06:20 She is an emotional support animal Almost a train therapy dog Did you see the horse They got on the plane? Yeah Because it was an emotional support. Yeah. Emotional support, a horse.
Starting point is 00:06:30 Really? Yeah. So, yeah. Anyway, so, oh, I got a pasta pass in my office there? Oh, you got it? I have two. Yeah, they sent him one. Give it over.
Starting point is 00:06:40 You can have mine, Eddie, if you want. Yeah. It says Bobby Bones on it. So I bought a pasta pass, and I got online and lunchbox got one, too. Did you get yours in the mail? Yeah, I got mine in the mail. So I think mine's at home from, but they also sent me a free one, but it says Bobby Bones on it.
Starting point is 00:06:56 So Eddie, if you can use that one? I'm texting the wife right now. Baby, we're going to Olive Garden tonight. I don't know if the, how do they, why don't work lunchbox? They check your name? Yeah, well, I mean, when you have a name Bobby Bones, you can just tell them it's your radio name. There's no way they can check your ID because mine says lunchbox.
Starting point is 00:07:10 Oh, and you say it's my radio name. Yeah. Why would you do lunchbox if it's like a private? Because I like to, I don't like people. Like when I call to go orders, I say a fake name also because I don't want people to know my name. Bones, he introduces himself as a fake name. Like, and I don't understand why. lunchbox is a fake name or is? No, no, no, a Jason. Jason Gible. No, no, that's my real name,
Starting point is 00:07:31 but I use a fake name. No. Okay. He's been saying Jason Gible for about 15 years. And I don't understand why. I've been saying Jason Gibble since I was eight years old. Okay. If you, Eddie, if you go to my office, you can have that pasta pass. So how does it work? Eddie, you can take your whole family and eat for free? No, only one person. Oh. Oh, but what I can get a, here's the thing. I can get a lot of pasta and we can all split it. So I'll order a real big thing and be like, I'll take five plates. That's true. You can do that. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:07:57 You can. And they did change the rules. You can't take it to go anymore. Oh, you used to do that. Yeah, I used to take it to go just every day. Just calling it to go order. I didn't know you can do that anymore. Boom, boom, boom.
Starting point is 00:08:06 Yeah, now you have to eat there. Did you get the lifetime pass? No. Did they give those away already? Yeah, I think so. I was not, I did not win if I... But do you know they gave them away already? No, I don't.
Starting point is 00:08:16 But I'm saying I didn't, if I did, I didn't get it. Well, because I signed up too, but you have to pay again for it. Yeah, you got to pay some big money. Oh, so you get drawn and then you have to pay if you get? Yeah. I mean, it's like a few hundred bucks. And for life, though. For life, you get free pasta for life.
Starting point is 00:08:32 Wow. Forever. But don't forget, there's a pasta pass. Because I walked in and said Bobby Bones on it. And Bones is in my real last name. And I was like, I don't order things with the name Bones. Like, I don't, Bones unless it's like, I'll get open table. Like I'll, because it's connected.
Starting point is 00:08:47 Oh, you got to put your name Bones so people know. Yeah. And so I just do open table through Facebook. And so Bones pops up. Other than that, I don't ever book anything under Bobby Bones. That's what I use on Open Table, too, is Bobby Bones, so people give you a better service. Wait, so my card's going to save Bobby Bones on it? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:00 Pasta passed, I just said that. So what do I do? Have you been listening? No, I was dreaming about pasta for the rest of the year. Sometimes I wonder, because we were talking about something this morning, and lunchbox jumped into the same thing later on too, by the sunglasses. I was doing this whole thing about sunglasses, and you'll hear it later, and lunchbox comes out, what about sunglasses?
Starting point is 00:09:17 Eddie, you just did that too. I did it because honestly in my mind, I went to Olive Garden. I was like, okay, so we got to go tonight. But I didn't realize, so what do I do? Do I just tell him Bobby's my friend? No, you say you're me. There's no chance they're going to believe on Bobby Bones. They're not going to know who.
Starting point is 00:09:30 You're under the assumption that people know who I am. They watch Dancing with the Stars, American Idol. No, they didn't. Watch a small fraction. Listen to the radio. Has any idea who I am. You could probably get away with it very easily. We'll see.
Starting point is 00:09:43 If I do get busted though, I'll let you know right away. Yeah. I'll call you and be like put you on speaker or FaceTime. Will you please tell him you gave me the pass? We'll do that. And then put me up and I'll be like, it's me. my name's not even Vi-Bones for life. Well, they're like, show us your ID over face.
Starting point is 00:09:58 Oh, you got me. You got me. Here's an award with my name on it. Okay. Yeah, your real name lunchbox, someone just pointed out is on the Wikipedia page. In CMA when we get. Yeah, I don't understand that. I don't really get that.
Starting point is 00:10:14 Yours, mine is, but. Well, it's the Bobby Bone show. No, no, I know. But it says, Bobby Bones, Amy, and then Lunchbox. Then it puts my real name. In parentheses. Yeah, it was just weird. Like, why not just leave it as lunchbox?
Starting point is 00:10:28 I don't know the answer to that. I don't ever fill that stuff out. I don't have anything to do with that stuff. Yeah. Ray Mundo has an idea for my very first drink of alcohol, apparently. Is that right, Ramundo? Yeah. Did you think I was going to come back from Ireland having a drink?
Starting point is 00:10:41 Well, I thought maybe you're going to be a little bit more culture and realize that it is a part of American life to have some alcohol and it makes it more socially, you know, normal. Like, situations aren't as awkward. That's what I would like to have alcohol. all for. And if you do in moderation, anything's great. I agree. I just don't do moderation well. But I have the drink for you. Go ahead. So it's called a Pappy Van Winkle and a whole bottle of it. A Pappy Van Winkle? Oh yeah. Oh gosh. Dude, if you buy this, the bottle's 10 grand. A single shot is
Starting point is 00:11:06 $350 and I have a local place that says they'll do it with a shot and they'll bring it up here. One, I'm not paying $350. That's what I'm saying. They'll do it for free and it can also maybe be a bit idea where the shot just sits on the table and every day you have it there as a temptation, maybe this segment, Bones is going to do the $350 shot. It's just right in front of you. That's actually not a bad idea for like a living bit. Temptation. Yeah, and then like, you know, I mean, sometimes we party up here. You know that thing's getting here. You guys don't party up here anymore. You're going to have to lock the studio because someone in the building will come drink a $350 shop. What's the place?
Starting point is 00:11:41 It's in the encore building. It's called Etch. I mean, it's a very, very five-star fine dining. That's not true because I've been to Etch and it's not. five star five dynes it's a good place it's a michelin type place okay this that's not etch because etch is right we're next to farmhouse right that's it same place it's nice it's not a michelin are you just saying words i'm no no no no just saying words to me when when i went there and they're doing uh 10,000 dollar shots and stuff like that I was like this is five star but you just said michelin and I believe they have cooks that are michelin people like work at used to work at michelon they change tires no michelin means you're the top we pull that maybe so I'm looking
Starting point is 00:12:20 I have been to Edge a couple times. It's not super... It's not even... It's good. Anytime they have octopus on the menu, it's five-star Michelin. It has a Michelin Star. It does. Thank you!
Starting point is 00:12:29 Four and a half. Yes! Hold on. Wow, it's one of the ten best Michelin Star restaurants in Nashville. In Nashville. Hold on. They have ten Michelin restaurants in Nashville.
Starting point is 00:12:38 Wipe your nose, right? Hold on. Let me say this. I'm looking at restaurants here in town. Scroll up, Mike. Edge, it's only... It's three dollar signs. Where, like, a place underneath...
Starting point is 00:12:48 The cat bird seat is four-dollar signs. Yeah. What's the most? I don't know. I think four's the most. I never been in the catbird seat. Oh, it's so good. What's chilies?
Starting point is 00:12:59 What is chilies? That's a good question. Two maybe? One or two? I would think two. Yeah. Because I think one is like a fast food place. You're right.
Starting point is 00:13:08 So one, two. Fast food, like home diet, like, you know, chilies to sort of fancies three. Like Etch, I go to work. Dinner is at Etch? Yeah, I think that's the last time we were there. But I never have thought about going there and it being fancy schmancy.
Starting point is 00:13:27 Mike is it? It's two. Chili's two? So there's your basis. So what's so special about this Prairie Van Winkle? Oh, Pappy Van Winkle. Dude, people will rob for that sucker. Will you look up Pappy Van Winkle, Mike D?
Starting point is 00:13:40 Raymondo, do you know somebody over there? Do you have a contact? No. Oh, I thought you said they would, you just said they would bring up for free. They will, but we dropped $5,000 and I was talking to him about the show and they're like, yeah, yeah, we'll definitely break. Who dropped $5,000? It was this girl's birthday dinner and that's a prereq.
Starting point is 00:13:56 So to get a room, we had to spend that much money for this birthday party. How many people? It was probably 10. That's why at the very end of it, we were still short on the 5,000, so they started bringing around the shots of pappy. They were short. Who pays for that? It's a husband. He's loaded.
Starting point is 00:14:11 Did you? I didn't even have to pay for me and Bay's meal. It was all free. I was like, hey. So the husband rented the private room. invited everybody, but there was a minimum. Correct. So then at the end, you're like, everybody, order, order, order.
Starting point is 00:14:24 Yeah, or we're giving them like $1,000 to it. Right, yeah. Amy got me a room at the magic place. House of Cards. You know, that was $100,000. It was? It was not $100,000. How much was that?
Starting point is 00:14:36 Because that was a legit dinner. Yeah. Yeah, it was legit. I don't know. I tried, and Amy was like, don't even look. So I didn't. I'll remember that dinner for a while. Yay.
Starting point is 00:14:46 Then that makes it worth it. I was talking to somebody about it the other night. About the, we figured out the magician's trick? Yes, yes, we did. Bobby was... I don't know if, I want to say we, because I don't think it was just me, but I'm obsessed with figuring things out. And we reverse engineered his trick.
Starting point is 00:15:05 Probably collectively. I don't think I was part of it. Yeah, let's be easy on there. I think me and Nikita reverse engineered the trick. But Bobby was interrogating this magician the whole time. Yeah, that's true. I didn't want to do tricks. I don't want to ask some questions.
Starting point is 00:15:19 about how things worked. Yeah. That was a good one. Then Amy and I got into a weird fight about something. I don't remember. Oh, it was about you inviting just Amy and Eddie. That's what the weird fight was. No, no. It was at dinner. There was no fight about that. Oh, I know. I wish you could remember it because then it got awkward and I'm like, well, happy
Starting point is 00:15:35 birthday. Oh, at the table. Yeah. Oh, what was it? I don't know. I don't know. It's why it doesn't matter. See, I don't even think about that. I'm so glad that I don't even remember because then that means I probably had been still stressing over it since April. What was it? Oh, man. Was it about dressing?
Starting point is 00:15:50 You didn't tell him he had to dress up? No, because I went once and I dressed wrong. And you even dressed wrong and you turned around and had to go back. That's true. And then you were still on time. That's true. I was early still. I think it had been something I said.
Starting point is 00:16:05 Oh, what was it? It'll come to me. I don't want it to, but I don't have to relive it. Pappy Van Winkle. A bottle of Pappy Van Winkle, 13-year, family reserve, rye whiskey $2,100. How much you say it was, right?
Starting point is 00:16:23 $10,000? I think you just inflate things without knowing. Well, for the purpose of a story, it makes it a lot better. $10,000. You just lied? Yeah, for the purpose of the story.
Starting point is 00:16:33 That said it was aging. Yes, I know. Oh, here's a seven. Oh, Raymond, hold on. Oh, never mind. That's five bottles. Okay, Ramundo. Here you go, Raymondo.
Starting point is 00:16:42 You're on to something. All right. Pappy Van Winkle, $9,399. Yes. A six bottle. Six bottles. He's so full of it. He's so full of it.
Starting point is 00:16:53 And then he's like, for the story, it's okay. Eddie, what if your kids came to you and were like, dad, for the story?
Starting point is 00:16:58 Yeah, guys, that's called lying is what I would tell them. For the story. All right. I don't hate that idea, though, did Bobby have this happy today? Bones,
Starting point is 00:17:08 the temptation of liquor on your desk every day? Oh, I wouldn't. I've had liquor in my whole life in front of me and I haven't. No, no, no. Every day. Like,
Starting point is 00:17:16 you're just looking at it. You can even smell. smell it all day. And it's also bigger now with the cameras. It's going to be a visual element. It'll be better in MC Hammer. Oh, you mean to sell it? Yeah. Don't hate on MC Hammer. He's chilling. Yeah. But I'm saying that right now that's the number one visual on your desk. That Pappy is going to be pretty tops when it goes on your desk. The MC Hammer is here because I danced as MC Hammer on Dancing with the Stars and a listener gave it to me. And so I got a, I don't think it's on my phone anymore, but I got an Insta story, DM, video message yesterday.
Starting point is 00:17:48 From? Let me see if it's on here still. Oh, is it the one I saw? Yeah, it only got to play once. Yeah. It's pretty cool. Mm-hmm. Sorry, I mean, can't tell you.
Starting point is 00:18:02 No, it's the girl from the office who's on the show. What's her name? Kate Flannery. Her, what's her character name? How'd I guess a real name, her character names? Yeah, that's crazy. I don't know. Pam?
Starting point is 00:18:19 No, is she the blonde or the red head? No, the red hair. Yeah, red hair is grotchy. The one that's always drunk. Yes. Meredith. Meredith.
Starting point is 00:18:26 Meredith. So she messaged me yesterday. And it self-destructs? Yeah, well, you can just send it once. Yeah. Like, anytime I send my negative picks, it's at one time. Can't do that anymore. That's now a felony.
Starting point is 00:18:38 If they don't want them. They don't want them. It is against a law. I thought you said it's a felony. No, it's now against the law. I didn't say felon. I heard felony. Is it a felony?
Starting point is 00:18:49 I wouldn't think it'd be a felony. That's where you go to jail, jail. Yeah, yeah. It stays on your record jail. Yeah. You can't be doing... If you flash someone in public, is that a felony? I think it depends.
Starting point is 00:19:00 Mike's looking it up. Mike typed in Texas nude bumble. I have a screen here. You can see what he's doing. Okay, okay, okay. Sometimes he'll put his screen over to... What's up? Yeah, here it is.
Starting point is 00:19:12 As states push to criminalize the sharing of intimate photos, to get revenge. Texas is teaming, you get fined. $500 fine. That's it. That is not a felony. You don't go to prison? That's it.
Starting point is 00:19:23 You get fined? Well, that's not going to keep you from doing that. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway. You need to be a convicted felon. What?
Starting point is 00:19:34 Eddie, it's not okay to send your penis to people. They don't want it. It's just not. I agree with that. Nobody wants that. Yeah. Like, no girl wants that, guys. But guys are doing it, unsolicited.
Starting point is 00:19:49 Are they? Do you know that? Are you just reading it on the internet? I don't know. I haven't. I get dudes sending me their ding-dongs. Really? Eddie F showed you before, I'm like, oh my God.
Starting point is 00:19:59 No, why? There's that, what's that game, roulette? I mean, I do a whole bit about this. A whole comedy bit. You've heard me do it, so now you're reciting my... No, we've talked about it before. I know, because it's a whole comedy joke. I don't remember the joke.
Starting point is 00:20:11 Yes, ding-dong roulette. Okay. What is it? I don't remember the joke, so Is it from this tour? No, it's from an old... No, because I don't heard it. So you can tell it now.
Starting point is 00:20:22 Still may use it, who knows? The whole bit. Ding dong roulette. And my stand-up was, dude just send me their penises. I don't say penises. I don't say their... I don't say ding-dongs.
Starting point is 00:20:31 You have to use that in the second one. You don't want to say ding-dongs again the second time. Got it because that's the punchline? Yeah. So I was like, dude just send me their weaners. It's like, yeah, I get on Instagram. I talk about Instagram and stories. And I'm like, listen, I love game shows,
Starting point is 00:20:41 but I'm not a fan of ding-dong roulette. And it's like, dude, no whammy, no, it's the whole thing. But I've talked about that before on the year. Is today Tuesday? No, Wednesday. No. We said we should do Tuesday song. Yesterday was Tuesday.
Starting point is 00:20:52 H-O-A. Tuesday. Housewives gone boozee. Just talking about Tuesday. Except it's Wednesday. Mike D. saw the peanut butter falcon, which, by the way, when I said what's a movie, you would recommend people after the past 10 years,
Starting point is 00:21:11 You can me that, Mike, Mike. I got a bunch of people. Abby Anderson, who is an artist, send me a message to watch Peanut Butter Falcon. I know what it was. I thought it was maybe a Cadbury thing. You eat it on Easter. That's what it sounds like.
Starting point is 00:21:23 But the peanut butter falcon, I looked it up on Rotten Tomatoes, like 97% positive. Yeah, it's really good. What is the peanut butter falcon? So it's Shia LaBuff and this kid who escapes from, he's living in a retirement home, and he has Down syndrome.
Starting point is 00:21:35 He's like parents can't take care of him, so they placed him there. He escapes, runs into Shia LaBuff, and they like run away together. And it's great. Yeah, it's really good. When did it come out? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:46 Huh. You have to watch it. Peanut Butter Falcon? Yeah. I had a buddy go see and said it was amazingly good. Wow. Like 97% positive rotten tomatoes. I never have heard of it.
Starting point is 00:21:55 Me either. That gives me hope for all the things that we've never heard of. Reesas is peanut butter falcons. Because sometimes you think we're out of things to watch. You know you have those moments. Oh, I don't think that. There's a lot of stuff. There's a new season of Ballers that I haven't even started on on HBO.
Starting point is 00:22:10 There's the Handmaid's Tale. Okay, so see, I forget, I'm caught up on that. If you've been struggling to get through Big Little Lies, you're going to struggle getting through this season, The Handmaid's Tale, I'm just saying. Really? Yeah. But I love Handmaids' Tale way more than Big Little Lies.
Starting point is 00:22:23 Okay, well, then maybe not. And Bones, I meant to tell you that I stopped watching the boys. Yes. Why? Because it's not good, right? There was a part. There are a couple parts, and just like back to back, and I was like, all right, I think I'm done.
Starting point is 00:22:36 You're out of your mind. It gets really gross. Well, yeah. It's really gritty. Dude, and this one was like, whoa, after it happened, I'm like, okay, I think I'm done. You're out of your mind. It was 82% positive of rotten tomatoes. What the boys?
Starting point is 00:22:50 Audience scored 94% positive of rotten tomatoes. I loved the storyline. It was great. And then this happened. I was like, yeah, I can probably do without that in my head. Mind Hunter's 98% positive. Have you caught up on that? It gets great.
Starting point is 00:23:01 Not caught up, but still watching. Where am I? It's slow the first couple, but gets great, like a third of the way through all the way to the end. Because it's the literal story of them trying to track down. the Atlanta child murderer. Right. Who had killed all those kids in the 70s. So every episode is them.
Starting point is 00:23:17 Nope, not every episode. Okay, because I watched one, but so how does, is this storyline that continues or okay? And so while the storyline is continuing, so it's these detectives who have kind of discovered the idea of going to serial killers and talking to them and trying to find out why they do what they do, right? Right. Like it's what it's called Mind Hunter. So they're trying to find what they all do similarly
Starting point is 00:23:42 so they can then find other serial killers. So the whole first season is them meeting all these different serial killers and trying to put the plan together to... And is there an overarching in the first season or is it just their story of finding all them? It's a story, right? Because in the second one, there's an overarching theme of they're trying to catch the Atlanta Child Murderer
Starting point is 00:24:02 while they're still figuring this out, you know, talking a serial... And the BTK guy is actually sprinkled into both seasons. and all of this is real. And you can look at the people they're based on. It's crazy. Yeah. And so what happened, I'm not going to say,
Starting point is 00:24:18 but what happened with one of the main detective's son, that really happened? I would assume yes, because they're based on real people. Mike, can you look that up? You know, the older, thicker guy? With the high and tight haircut?
Starting point is 00:24:34 Yeah. See, that really, I would assume yes, because they're so right on with everything else. Wow, wow, wow, wow. Yeah. Crazy.
Starting point is 00:24:46 Oh, where am I with that? I forgot about it. I don't have to go back to it because I got involved with Yellowstone. You know, you just... Yeah, there's a lot. There's so much. Are you putting it up? The Queen's coming back.
Starting point is 00:25:02 When? The crown. The crown. And like a week or two weeks or something. Okay. Isn't it? No, no, but that's a good show. So good.
Starting point is 00:25:11 And that comes up to my mind, because it's so factually accurate. Yeah. Right. Now, here's the thing. The big points of the queen, they're all, but some of those conversations
Starting point is 00:25:20 in hidden rooms, you don't know if that's real or not. Correct. You just kind of have to know historically what they're accurate on and the stuff they just have to fill in with. Mm-hmm. So, um,
Starting point is 00:25:31 the Crown, season three. Someone's coming out, Mike. Cool. I'm looking on the screen here. Do you ever, hmm? What are you looking at? there, buddy. Whatever Mike's scrolling through real quick. All right, that's going to, we'll wrap it up.
Starting point is 00:25:55 Two things we need. One, is that story true from Mind Hunter? And then two, the day of the crown. Mike, as we're doing some promo stuff, let me know of those two, please. Amy, what would you like to say? Hope everyone has a great day. Rock and roll. And our, go ahead. Okay, I have, yesterday was Tuesday, which is also my Q&A podcast release day. Okay, so it's up. A new one up now. A new one's up. And then, yeah, so every Tuesday.
Starting point is 00:26:23 But since everyone's week's a little bit off, maybe today's like your Tuesday, so you'll actually listen to it. Morgan number two found it. There was a similar real life case in San Francisco in 1971. Two brothers. I don't want to say what it is. I think it's rough, loosely based on something. But I don't think on the sun of that mind hunter.
Starting point is 00:26:40 Don't say what it is. Yeah. But it does look like the case. Right. Is. Right. Yes. Got it.
Starting point is 00:26:45 So yes, it's based on it, but it's not specifically tied to the kid. Correct. Okay. Got it. And then, oh, perfect. The crown does come out in two weeks if two weeks is November 17th. Okay, here's my thing on that. If and if.
Starting point is 00:26:59 What was the date? Sorry. November 17th. Okay. So here's my thing on, but that character is real. The mind, that mine hunter. He is a real dude. So like, if he has kids, now one of his kids, people might think his kids that that really happened.
Starting point is 00:27:18 But he, I don't know. I'm just saying when you start getting loose. Like if somebody did a show about my dad and then they sprinkled in a story about his kid that wasn't true and I was his kid, I'd be like, whoa, whoa, whoa. Unless you get in bade and you be like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Luke Combs is set to come over to the house tonight and do a Bobbycast. So subscribe to the Bobbycast and hopefully this will be a pretty good one. I like Luke. No, Luke okay.
Starting point is 00:27:43 And I think it'll be pretty good. You guys doing Shore Losers today? Yeah, we are. And he's in a really good. mood. Why do you say that? I am a good mood. I thought you've been
Starting point is 00:27:51 a good mood. I've had a bad couple of days just working with technical stuff but I'm a good mood. Talking about because the Cowboys, that's why I was trying to talk about the park. Oh, got to. He's trying to tease that
Starting point is 00:28:00 Ezekiel Elliott's signed a deal now. Oh, he's not the highest paid running back in the NFL. Cool. Thanks, Amy. Do y'all need me to join in on soy losers? Sure, if you'd like to? You just see Dirk,
Starting point is 00:28:09 uh, uh, Dirk came in and was like, oh, look, all the cameras are here for me because he was like in China playing basketball and, Then he realized it wasn't for him. It was for Zeke. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:28:22 It was funny. At the Dallas airport, they all went right past him. Dirk Novitsky? No. I was like Dirk's Bentley? I did it was like, really Dirk? I was like, oh. I make sure they're not Dirk's.
Starting point is 00:28:33 All right. Funny. We're done. Check it. Anything else, Mike, I've missed. I need to go over. Are we good? All right, here's today's show.

Starting point is 00:31:15 Your buddy and mine. Mr. Bobby Bones. Let me know. Transmitting across America. This is the Bobby Bones show. That's right. Now, here I am. Turn it up.
Starting point is 00:31:26 Come, buddy. Yeah, here I am. Hey, what's happening, everybody? Thanks for hanging out with us here on Wednesday's show. Morning studio. Morning. Well, let's go over and talk to Kim in Indiana. Kim.
Starting point is 00:31:38 Hey, guys. Good morning to you. What's happening? Oh, man, just waiting to go into work. Well, what can we do for you? What would you like us to talk about? I was just curious what the studio's biggest pet peeves are. Like around the room?
Starting point is 00:31:55 Yeah. In life? Or like... In general. Okay, I like that. Biggest pet peeves will go around the room. Just pick one. And the one that comes to my mind first is late people.
Starting point is 00:32:06 And not so much because you're late, but because you are disrespecting the other person's time. It's not even about you being late and what you have to... And I'm pointing at you, Amy, not because you're late, but because you're just right behind me. Thank you. Because you've done a better job as of late. As of years. Yeah. So late people, sometimes you're late, but you should never be late.
Starting point is 00:32:28 Right. Like occasionally sometimes life happens and you're late, but you should never be late. Late people, because again, it's not about you not getting there on time. It's about the person. You just don't care about the other person's time. Chronically late people drive me absolutely bonkers because you're allowing yourself to be late. If you're late all the time, you're allowing yourself to be late. Why would you do that?
Starting point is 00:32:45 If you're disrespecting the people that you're... All right, that's mine. Okay. You're going to be fired up. Talk about late people. Mine doesn't have to do with other people. It just has to do with I've always been annoyed by wire hangers. And you know you come back from the dry cleaners or whatever and there's wire hangers
Starting point is 00:33:00 and my husband will put them in our closet. And if I walk in and I see one, I can't. I got to get rid of it. I just do not like it. I've heard people say that before, yourself included. I just don't understand why that would be a pet pee. Like, I don't understand why you get so worked out about people being late. Because that's people making a decision to disrespect you.
Starting point is 00:33:16 Wirehangers have done nothing to you. They just exist. Yeah, I don't like them. Interesting. They got to go. Lunchbox. When I run into someone, let's say I'm at the grocery store and you run into someone you know and they go, hey, what are you doing here?
Starting point is 00:33:28 Like, it's the stupidest question in the world. Like, I'm obviously buying groceries just like you're buying groceries. Why do people say it drives me nuts? Just say, hey, how's it going? Not what are you doing here? Isn't that, though, just something you say. It doesn't really mean what are you doing here. It's like, hey, what's up?
Starting point is 00:33:43 I don't know. What are you doing here? Something you say. Eddie, yours? Mine's when people don't say thank you. They hold the door for them and they just walk through and don't say thank you. You wait for it. You're like, why don't you say thank you?
Starting point is 00:33:54 Somebody sneezes. You say bless you. No thank you. I blessed you. Wait, so I have to. Yeah. So you sneeze, I say bless you. And then I have to say thank you.
Starting point is 00:34:01 Yeah, you're welcome. For sneezing, I have. Well, I did something nice for you. I blessed you. That's a pet peeve. All of a sudden, you're the blesser? You think you're so good? I have that power.
Starting point is 00:34:12 It's some pet peeve of mine for people not to thank you when you do something nice for them. Thank you for sharing that, Eddie. No problem. Well, Amy, your wire hanger was probably the weirdest one. Because that's not really an action by anyone. But it's a pet peeve. I don't want to move my closet. Nobody's wrong with their pet peeves.
Starting point is 00:34:26 Oh, I know. I also don't like stickers on fruit, but. You know, I was reading about fruit flies. I did a whole wormhole. Because fruit flies will, like, pop up in my house when there's like food, like fruit, obviously. Yeah, like a banana. Do you know why fruit flies exist? Two theories.
Starting point is 00:34:40 One, because the eggs are actually on. the fruit. And so that's why you should wash your fruit especially. A little bitty eggs on them. And then two, that they are already in your house anyway, but they're not all together. You just don't see them because they're by themselves flying around. And there's a little. And once the fruit is
Starting point is 00:34:56 actually exposed, they kind of gather around the top of it. Those are the two theories of fruit flies. You're welcome for your knowledge. Thank you. Yeah. Well, because they all come together. Yeah. It's like a concert. A fruit concert. Everybody's going to the concert. Here's the Bobby Bones show podcast. Highlight segment of the day. What do you think?
Starting point is 00:35:13 If you're married or in a relationship, what's the rules on looking at someone from the opposite sex? Amy, go ahead. Oh, did you say, does it matter if they're with you or not? Because either way, I have an answer. But didn't you say first if they're right next to you or no? No, in your head, I think you're developing some weird scenario. But go ahead. I'm going to say no.
Starting point is 00:35:32 Try not to. Obviously, you can acknowledge if someone's attractive or not, but you don't need to be checking somebody out. You're like, oh, dang, give me a piece of that. What? You're escalating it way quicker than it is. Yeah, what's the difference? Give me a piece of that. If you eye them up and down, because there's sometimes, you said checking out.
Starting point is 00:35:48 You're also eyeing up and down. Okay, what was the word you used checking out? Sure. Okay. No. You can respectfully say, wow, that person's distracted, but not check them out. But how are you going to know if you're not looking at them up and down? You don't have to look at them up and down.
Starting point is 00:36:05 You can look at people's face or, like, you can look at people and, you know, appreciate if they're, If you're attracted to them, you don't have to check them out. The question is, if you're married, is it okay to check out an attractive person that walks by you? That was just a generic question. I just wanted to see what I said exactly. And Amy's like, well, if you got your hands all over, oh, my head's. No, no, all I asked was that. Is it?
Starting point is 00:36:27 Let me go talk to Teresa and Virginia. Teresa, thank you for calling the Bobby Bone Show. What do you think about this? I would say absolutely not. It's about the respect of the person you're with. if you're by yourself, it's okay. But if you're with somebody, it's respecting that other person. You don't need to check somebody else out.
Starting point is 00:36:47 Amy, if you're by yourself, are you looking? No. You're not looking at all. Checking out? Like, you can... Amy, let me show you checking out. Okay. Walk through.
Starting point is 00:36:55 You want me to get up? Just walk through. I want to show you what checking out is. I don't know what your warped mind is saying about checking out. But this is me checking you out. Ready? And Amy's walking through. Watch my face, though.
Starting point is 00:37:05 You don't have to look it. Just look forward. I'm here, I'm here. I'm here. Okay, cool. That's it. Yeah, you checked her out. That's it.
Starting point is 00:37:11 Okay. I thought checking out is like... I'm not giving you a full eyeball massage. I thought it was like, up, down. Oh, whistle at them too? Whistling at them too? Whistling site. Checking out is just looking and going, all right, check it out.
Starting point is 00:37:27 Like if you were to check out a car, if you're driving by. Like, oh, check that car out. That's cool. It doesn't have to be whatever weird thing you're doing with your mind. Okay. I thought it was like checking them out, you know? I'm going to hear what you're saying. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:41 According to psychologists, looking is natural, and it's not even unhealthy as long as it's just looking. Right. Okay. Just looking. Let's go over to Eric and Georgia. Eric, how are you, bud? Thanks for calling the Bobby Owen show. What do you think about this? Man, I'm doing great this morning. How are you, Bobby?
Starting point is 00:37:57 Pretty good. Now, you're with your girl, your wife, and someone walks by. She's pretty. What's up with you? What are you going to look? Me and my wife have discussed this openly before, and we both agree you're going to see attractive qualities and other people. Now, as long as those minimal interactions or if you see an attractive quality in a person of the opposite sex, but you keep it at that and you stick to
Starting point is 00:38:25 your business, that's okay. So I don't, my wife and I both don't feel like that's a bad thing because everybody's going to see somebody that has an attractive quality. But as long as you keep it at that and you go on about your business, that's how we both seem to feel equally about it, but it does also come down to respecting your spouse. You're not going to go out of your way to gawk at a woman who you think is attractive or a man in her case. Especially with your spouse sitting there,
Starting point is 00:38:55 that's very disrespectful. Anytime you go extra physical with it, like a lean or a drool or a gamy thing every checkout is. Yeah, but just to look and check it. Again, that's the most honest thing because I would compare it to going, well, I'm never,
Starting point is 00:39:11 I'm not going to dream about other people because that's not respectful. You can't control a dream. You can't control if you feel like someone's attractive. So why not be open and honest and be like, oh, yeah, it's pretty. I think it's, he brought up a good point. If they've talked about it, I think it's healthy if you're in a relationship and you can't, can,
Starting point is 00:39:28 just talk about it. We were at the beach and this girl. Oh, boy. That's always trouble. Go ahead. Yeah, I'm going to take a half step back at the beach. Go ahead. No, I mean, there is no.
Starting point is 00:39:41 This girl came by. I mean, her body was insane. Like, every head on the beach was like, where did she come from? What is this body? I mean, it was amazing. So we all, me, my husband, another couple we were with. We all acknowledge like, oh my gosh, look at her body.
Starting point is 00:40:00 It's amazing. You know, the guys were like, you guys acknowledge first. We're going to wait on you guys to walk through the road before we do. I thought you would appreciate that being healthy, like just being able to talk about it together. Yeah. But then we were like, ooh, how old is she, I wonder? And I was like, I hope she's saying. And the guys are like, we did not acknowledge anything.
Starting point is 00:40:17 I don't know. Yeah. But then we, I don't even know. I don't even think she was from America. It was one of the, yeah, her body. Well, I will say this. Guys are looking even if we don't think they are. So to anyone who thinks that their husband or boyfriend isn't checking someone out,
Starting point is 00:40:34 you're wrong. They're just doing it where you're not seeing them. Again, you know, it's been 10 seconds doing it. but for someone that goes, no, we just don't do that. No, you're just not catching them. You're just not seeing them. Well, what about if you, yeah,
Starting point is 00:40:47 you said no lingering with the looking. Absolutely. And then you can stop your, like, you shouldn't, you don't think about that person. So, I'm not. Dark, dark sunglasses. Everywhere. Chelsea and Kansas, you're on the Bobby Bone show.
Starting point is 00:41:02 Good morning, Chelsea. Hey, morning studio. Morning. Morning. I was going to say that I think it's a hard no and you definitely shouldn't I don't know I just think it comes down to respect and I just I don't know I feel like you should only have eyes
Starting point is 00:41:20 for the one you're real I guess I know that sounds probably stupid and naive but I don't know I don't think it sounds stupid it sounds like a nice wish it does like you you pick up the little weed and you blow it and you go I wish my boyfriend husband look at other girls. Oh, good a look.
Starting point is 00:41:37 A little dandelions. Good luck, dandelion. Do your job. I don't think it's stupid at all. But I think having eyes for someone that you're with is more than just seeing the physical part of them. It's having eyes that means you're only going to be with them and only going to invest emotionally, intellectually, physically.
Starting point is 00:41:57 That's all. I'll leave it there. If I were with somebody, she was like, that dude's a good looking. I'd be like, that dude is a good looking. Yeah. Who cares? Yeah. Humans are attracted to other attractive humans.
Starting point is 00:42:08 You'd probably notice it first. It'd be like, dead dude's hot, look at him. Let me do one more. Let me go to, is it Yadira in Austin? Yes, it's Yadira. Hey, what's happening? Hey, so I just wanted to call in and say, I think it's completely okay.
Starting point is 00:42:25 My husband and I sometimes will even look together for fun and just compare like, wow, you're attracted to that. I look nothing like that. Craigslist. So I think it's completely. okay. I mean, as long as you don't act upon it, it's just flicking. That's how I feel too. Thank you, you dear. Appreciate that call. Yeah, thanks.
Starting point is 00:42:43 All right. Amy, you say the question was, do you need the question again? Is it okay to check somebody out? Yes or no? You can say, if you've been shifted a bit, that's okay. I haven't shifted. Go ahead. What is your answer? My definition of checking out, I guess I'll just stick with no. Okay. Lunchbox? Listen, there is nothing wrong with window shopping. We all do it. You walk by a nice store. You look in and say, oh, I wish I could have that maybe one day.
Starting point is 00:43:06 No, no, no. Yes, you dream about things. So window shopping is absolutely okay. You're talking about. Eddie? Well, here's the thing. Like, it's okay. It's fine.
Starting point is 00:43:17 It happens. You've got to be discreet about it. I think what everyone said, respect the person you're with. Be discreet about it. My trick is to walk behind my wife a little bit. That way I have free range. It's hard. And also wear sunglasses.
Starting point is 00:43:32 It is really hard to have control. and not look again if you find someone real attractive and you have to try really, really hard, but it's worth the effort. No, no, you don't have to try really, really hard, Eddie, you're calculated about it and you walk a few paces behind your wife. Just to see, I'm not doing anything, I just look
Starting point is 00:43:49 and I'm like, she's really pretty. And then I'll walk away will take a few more steps. Then I'll let me see again. So you drop back again. Honey, I'll drop again. You downshift. You fall back about five pages now. No, Eddie, Bobby's approach to it is way more
Starting point is 00:44:04 respectful to your wife if you walk with her and then say, oh, hey, whoa, that, that girl's been looking. Yeah, we've had that conversation. It doesn't go very well. Not a good one. Now he has to walk five paces back. He leaves half an hour early. See, here's what you do. You get in the car, the Bobby Bones show. Big Three Stories. Remundo's got the news here on Wednesday. What you got, Remundo? In weather news, Hurricane Dorian's outer bands have started to hit Florida. It's currently a category two. In the Bahamas, at least eight people died from the hurricane. The damage is catastrophic. You You can see drone footage online. And finally, Walmart has ended ammo sales for some of their guns,
Starting point is 00:44:39 and they're also asking customers not to carry guns into their stores, even if you have a carry permit. The Bobby Bone Show. Let's go over and talk to Emily. Emily, what's happening? Thanks for calling the Bobby Bone Show. Hi, yes. This is Emily.
Starting point is 00:44:53 Hey, Emily, what do you want to say? I was just going to say hi to the studio and call in. I listen every morning on my way to work from Mercer's Grove to Nashville. So I just wanted to call in and say hi. and how much I love listening to y'all. I appreciate that. Is there any segment that you love that we do when you're like, I can't wait for that to come up?
Starting point is 00:45:10 I'm loving the holes right now or the draft between different things because my roommate and I, since we listen, we kind of talk it out to ourselves in the morning. Yeah, so we did an emoji draft, and before we give the results on that one, what would have been your first pick in the emoji draft overall? I would have gone with you with the cry and laughing. I use that the most.
Starting point is 00:45:33 Very smart caller. It's gone. Very smart caller. Well, Emily, thanks. We appreciate that. Yeah, of course. Have a good day. Tell your roommate we say hello too.
Starting point is 00:45:42 I will. Thank you so much. All right. See you later. Hey, today, Luke Combs just come over to the house for a Bobbycast. That'll be good. Yeah. That should be good, right?
Starting point is 00:45:51 Yeah. I have dinner tonight. But what I have tomorrow, I'm going to a new therapist tomorrow. Oh. I know. And for the first time ever, I'm going to a therapist that is not like an all-around therapist. it's what they do normally, and I kind of got into a bad accident,
Starting point is 00:46:06 is they usually work with couples on relationships, or they work with couples individually about their relationships. So let's say you and your husband would go in, but separately. Gotcha, yeah. But I'm going in just as a guy that's not dating anybody, not at least not seriously, and no girlfriend. So I'm going to go into that and just see if I can kind of fix some stuff. for relationships specifically or just in life?
Starting point is 00:46:33 Mostly, I think a lot of, yeah, relationships. So I'm going to go today or tomorrow. Wow, that's very proactive of you. Getting therapy for your future girl. Well, I'm just trying to have a, they send you that sheet that's like, you fill it out in your office, but now you can do it online. Yeah. And it's like, why are you coming in?
Starting point is 00:46:51 And I was like, well, been single for way too long. And then it's like, well, what do you want to fix? And I write, not being single for way too much longer. I know. And it's not even about the last couple of years, but like, I'm 39. I've never been engaged. No.
Starting point is 00:47:04 I never even talked about marriage with a girl. Like I never even got to that point. So, yeah, I get a new therapist tomorrow around 3 o'clock. And the therapist I'm going to is nearish my house. Oh, that's so convenient. I know. My last therapist was like 45 minutes away. It won't last.
Starting point is 00:47:21 It's a long-distance relationship. It's not going to last. It's not going to last. I know. If you want to keep it working, got to be convenient. So we'll see how that goes. Okay, we'll look forward to the update on that. You okay with sharing some stuff from it?
Starting point is 00:47:35 Yeah, I don't care. I always do. Give us the tips. Well, I go till tomorrow. Yeah, I know. So it probably won't be to like Friday show or something. But again, it's the first time you go in. So it's mostly feeling each other out.
Starting point is 00:47:47 Yeah. But my last one was a man. I didn't like going to a man. I was raised by all women. I just feel more comfortable talking to women. Yeah. I think wherever you're going to feel the most comfortable is what you got to do. And I always do it naked.
Starting point is 00:47:59 And that was the issue for you. Whatever makes you feel more comfortable. Let it all out. I'm the host of Earsay, the Audible and IHeart Audio Book Club. This week on the podcast, I'm sitting down with Ray Porter, the narrator of Andy Weir's audiobook Project Hail Mary. Massive sci-fi adventure about survival and science. And what happens when you wake up? alone very far from earth.
Starting point is 00:50:28 I really had to make a decision because I caught myself getting that frog in my throat and starting to get teary as I'm narrating some of these sections. And it's like, okay, yo, yeah, yo, is this indulgent? And I really thought about it. I was like, no, at this point it would kind of be betraying the trust the author and the listener have in telling this story if I don't go through it. But there's places in this book that deeply emotionally affected me and I left it on the mic.
Starting point is 00:50:54 That's great. because it served the story. People will say like, oh my God, I cried at the end. It's like, yeah, dude, me too. Listen to Earsay, the Audible and IHeart Audio Book Club on the IHeart Radio app or wherever you get your podcasts. It's a Bobby Bone Show. I love country music.
Starting point is 00:51:12 You know, I started watching the documentary, the history of country music. The Ken Burns documentary. It's like 11 hours long. Oh, wow. Yeah, I've only watched a couple hours of it. And it's on DVDs. I don't own a disc drive. And it doesn't come out for another couple weeks.
Starting point is 00:51:25 It's on PBS. but they sent me all the DVDs and a disc drive to plug in on my computer. Oh. Because I was like, I don't have a disc drive. So they mailed me a disc drive. That's legit. But it's pretty good. The first one's a little slow because it's like from the beginning to 1933.
Starting point is 00:51:39 And did you know that it wasn't called country music forever? They started calling the hillbilly music. And not even because Hillbilly was a bad term is because this band was like, hey, we need the name. And it's like, well, we're known. We're the Hillbillies. And they named the band the Hillbillies. And they were the first people to start that music.
Starting point is 00:51:54 And so they started calling it all hillbillie. building music based up for that one band. Oh, wow. It's crazy. It's fantastic so far if you're way into like documentary and learning. I'm really excited about the 80s and 90s, and that's later on in the documentary. But like I said, a little slow if you're like into the glitter. Right. But I'm a nerd and I'm liking, you know, how indebt it is. But like Kathy Matea's been on it, talking, dolly's been on it a bit. And Dolly's like, you know, to Hillbillies, it's really not an insult to call me hillbilly. It's if somebody's not a hillbilly calling you that in a bad way, or if you're not a hillbilly and someone calls you. It's just wild how the country music came about.
Starting point is 00:52:34 The banjo is from Africa, the fiddles from Europe, and it was all these immigrants that came. It was immigrants that started country music, immigrants and slaves. Wow. So, yeah, pretty crazy. But I love country music and the history of it. And so now here we go. On this day in country music. Elvis Presley played the Opry for the first time in 1954, and he played the opera for the last time on this day in 1954. So he only played it once. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:53:06 Because it didn't go well. Have you heard this story? I don't know. He showed off his new high-energy rockabilly song Blue Moon in Kentucky, and the crowd was not impressed. Oh. Here is Elvis performing Blue Moon of Kentucky in 1954. We'd like to introduce Elvis Presley.
Starting point is 00:53:21 And the crowd Blue moon to keep on the shining bride And the crowd's going to bring me back on my And the crowd's like, what's happening? So when he got off stage, and I mentioned this in my TED talk that I did, they were like, hey, you should just go back to driving trucks. This maybe isn't for you, Elvis. And so he didn't.
Starting point is 00:53:43 So he goes, I'm never going back to the opera. And that was the first and last time he performed at the Grand Ole Opry. Oh, gotcha. Not, but he was probably invited back, but he just chose not to. You know, I didn't see his invitation email list. Well, because I was like, what? Why wouldn't they invite him back? Especially after all the later, but yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:54:01 Maybe he was, he's, that experience was so bad. He's like, forget it. So today in 1954, 65 years ago, Elvis's first and last time at the Grand Ole Opry. Oh. Playing blue moot. Here we go. And the crowd's like, like eight of them were like, no! And the rest are like, what is happening?
Starting point is 00:54:20 Is that not one of his hits? Not that I. I know. Blue mooh. One ass gone had who left me blue. He's called progressive. It's almost like you can hear their faces going,
Starting point is 00:54:38 what is happening? That emoji like the mouth open. All right, there you go. On This Day in Country Music. That was. On This Day in Country Music. The latest from Nashville and Hollywood. Morgan No. 2's 32nd Skinny.
Starting point is 00:54:53 Kelsey Ballerini announced her next single and it's called Homecoming Queen. It will drop this Friday. Here's a teaser of the song. Oh, you've started showing what Sunday your skin. Congratulations to Maddie's Taylor Dye. She announced on social media that she's engaged to her boyfriend, Josh Kerr. Jason Aldine and his wife, Brittany, showed off sneak peeks into their dream home on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:55:30 They were sharing videos of a teaky bar being put in as well as a 60-foot water slide. I'm Morgan number two. That's your skin. It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. So there's a group of kindergartners, and they are participating in the kindness challenge, and one of them noticed that the school crossing guards picked up coffee from the same coffee shop every day. So the class decided to get together and pay for the coffee for at least a few months.
Starting point is 00:55:59 So every time the crossing guard goes in to get coffee, they're like, it's covered your kindergartner class paid for it. That's pretty cool. Isn't that so sweet? Yeah, that is pretty good. I mean, that really is what this whole thing's about right here. Good. Bobby Bone Show. Boney up the day.
Starting point is 00:56:13 This story comes with us from Detroit, Michigan. Hey, DJ was at a club Saturday night. You know, he's mixing on the ones and twos. And then boom. The gun in his waistband shot himself in the leg. I was DJing with a gun, huh? And he had to call his buddy over and go, hey, man, hey, I just shot myself in the leg. Oh, thank.
Starting point is 00:56:32 And so his buddy drove him to the hospital. Do they keep the party going, though? Like, do they? They have to. I mean, do they have a backup DJ? Or do you just keep, just push spacebar like you're doing anyway? It's what he would have wanted. That's true.
Starting point is 00:56:45 Well, he didn't die. I know, but I mean, while he's away, he's like, keep it going. Okay, yeah. Where is this? In Detroit, Michigan. All right, all right. All right, there you go. I'm Lunchbox.
Starting point is 00:56:54 That's your Bonehead story of the day. On the Bobby Bone show now. Trisha Herewood. Hey, there she is. Hi. There she is. How are you? Oh, good.
Starting point is 00:57:03 How are you? I'm good. I was watching your tweets. I like following you on Twitter. saw that you were doing this, we on a bus for a while? I was. So I always think that tension
Starting point is 00:57:13 when superstars go out and kind of re-grind it out again on a bus. Well, that's how we've always toured. I mean, other than the Garth tour, which is a whole different thing. But on my tours, I've always busted because it's like the best way to get from A to B. This was a little different
Starting point is 00:57:27 because we went to my hometown in Monticello, Georgia. We started there on the album release date and we retraced my route that I drove from my hometown to here when I was 19 to, like, come to Nashville. make all my dreams come true. So we kind of retraced the route
Starting point is 00:57:40 and stopped along the way and did some signings and stuff and it was cool. That's so cool. What does it like when you go back to Monticella, Georgia? You know, if you could picture sort of like Mayberry,
Starting point is 00:57:50 it's kind of one of those towns. My cousin Benny was filming in my hometown. So the square and the courthouse and all that, if you've ever seen that movie, that's my hometown. When they know you're coming home,
Starting point is 00:57:58 they paint in the windows, welcome home, Trisha. It's very, I mean, it's really like a thing. And it's the best, it was the best place to grow up. And I still, they're still family. You're not just raised in a small town by your parents.
Starting point is 00:58:09 You're raised by the whole town. And they're all still there. And so, you know, I knew almost everybody in line, you know, that stood there for an autograph. So it was a long day. Is there a Trisha Yearwood Street? There is. It's called the Trishy Wood Parkway. It's very small.
Starting point is 00:58:22 The sign's almost bigger than the street, actually. It should be Trishy Wood Lane or something, but it's the parkway. When did they dedicate that to you? About 15 years ago. Yeah, something like that. Did you go for that? I did. Just go, let me know when it's done.
Starting point is 00:58:36 No, there was a big celebration. on the square, there's a declaration by the mayor, the whole bit, you know. That's so cool. Do you find when you go home, because this happens to me a little bit where I have all these cousins I didn't know I had all of a sudden, we're like, oh, you know what? Your aunt Nancy has a cousin, and I'm his kid, and I'm
Starting point is 00:58:51 your cousin. Yep. It's like a 23 in me, but in real life. Right, and you really can't say, I don't think that's right, because it could be, you know, it's possible, you know, especially I met a couple of Yearwoods, and my dad was an only child, so I don't know much about his side of the family, and I'm not going to say, if your last name is Yearwood, you're probably related to
Starting point is 00:59:07 so I'm just going to let that one go. That's awesome that you go back home and you did it that way. Yeah, it was really cool. I got to say, I mean, it was the kind of town where you go in and they've, you know, they've had a barbecue on the square so that everybody can eat while they're waiting in line. They're passing out water and pizza and there's a girl that I went to school with who won Cupcake Wars. She'd make cupcakes for everybody.
Starting point is 00:59:28 Someone you went to school with won Cupcake Wars? Does she have Elaine? Yeah, Parkway. She should. She totally should. She was like, when I was a kid, she was the youngest daughter. She was way younger than me. And her last name was Kelly.
Starting point is 00:59:45 And her first, Susan was the sister I knew. She was a little girl. And I saw her and I'm like, I recognize her. I'm like, yes, she won Coke Break Wars. I'm like, that's so cool. And I wonder if she has beef with you since you have a cooking show. I wonder if she's like, I can. Probably.
Starting point is 00:59:58 She's really cute too. She looks better than me. She's younger than me. She won Coke Cake Wars. I mean. Put out a disc track. That's fun, huh? Tricia's got a new record out, by the way.
Starting point is 01:00:06 It's called Every Girl. It came out on Friday. So we're still in the cycle here. So what I'm saying is people need to stream it, download it, buy it. Please, please, please, thank you. Yeah, we're still in that first week cycle. That's exciting for you because it's been a while. She put out a country record.
Starting point is 01:00:19 Yeah, it has been. And it's also been a while, I mean, every girl in this town, you know, the first time I heard on the radio was you playing it. We talked, I called you. There's been excitement about this song, which has kind of created this whole energy around the album release that I wasn't necessarily, expecting. So it's been really
Starting point is 01:00:36 like just everything's been icing on the cake. It's been so fun and the reaction's been cool. This was the first weekend getting out to see people to really hear people's stories of that song and how it's just been pretty powerful to hear people talk about how they see themselves in the song and how it makes them feel and
Starting point is 01:00:53 it's just been cool. And it's a cool way for me to play it. Tricia's going to be here. We're going to come back and talk a little more and then surprise for all of us. She brought a guitar player and she's going to sing for us. Which I wouldn't have even fast. It's early in the morning and I was just happy you were coming and then you show up with a guitar and a player. I mean, I don't have to sing. No, no, no. Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Starting point is 01:01:14 On the Bobby Bones show now. Tricia Herewood. Right, back here. By the way, Tricia has her new record. Every Girl, it's out now. That song's Every Girl in this town. I hope you like it. I like it. I like you. Thank you. I'll tell you, I went to ACM honors, which you were there. Yes. And I, you weren't there when I was, because I had me do like 15 minutes to stand up to open the show. And I did a joke about you. How'd you call me out about some kind of country fried steak or something? Sort of. It's my only joke. Here's my joke. Okay, I don't hear it.
Starting point is 01:01:41 It wasn't about you. I heard a second hand. Okay. I said, hey, I've grown a lot since moving in Nashville. I've not always seen eye to eye with every artist. There's one artist in particular. And the room's like, ooh, who's he going to go after? Right?
Starting point is 01:01:53 Because I have history back in the day. And I said, I'm looking at you, Trisha Yearwood. And they're all going, oh. And I said, you never gave me credit for using my chicken fried steak recipe on your cooking show. And it did moderately well. It wasn't my best joke. Well, I almost, they told me about that. And when I came out, I almost like called you out.
Starting point is 01:02:09 And then I thought, I'm honoring somebody else. I probably shouldn't be like bantering with Bobby Bones right now. But I wanted to. That's the kind of beef I want to be in. Literal. Right. Literal beef. Is there a such thing as plagiarizing recipes, though? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:22 Yeah. I mean, yes, you have to be careful. But something like that, actually don't have a chicken fried steak recipe in my cookbooks because we didn't make that growing up. But yes, I mean, there's some things like fried toast. chicken basically. Every southern woman I know makes it basically the same way. So there's, you know, we most of us have some of those similar recipes. But you have to be really careful. You know, you have to, we test everything, we vet everything to make sure there's not anything out
Starting point is 01:02:47 there like it. Because a lot of those, especially those basic Southern recipes, there's going to be 100 versions of those. So you got to make sure that you don't accidentally have the same recipe as so and so. And you really have to change a process or an amount in the recipe. And you can tweak a recipe very a little bit and get away with it but you have to be careful um anyone ever stolen yours and you've been like that's my recipe they're saying it oh yeah i've totally seen it oh really yeah because you know how people always post on social media you'll see on facebook or twitter you'll see like the like my my blah blah blah i'm like that is mine i didn't know that was a thing i let it go because the whole concept for me of sharing recipes in a cookbook is because i want everybody to make the
Starting point is 01:03:28 recipes. So I don't really care. Like, if you, if, like when people go, I make your blah, blah, and take it to my covered dish every Sunday, but I always credit you. I'm like, it's yours now. You tell them it's yours. So I'm okay with that. But what if they're on Instagram one? This is my recipe and I'm a food blogger and it's your exact recipe. Do you cease and desist them? I haven't ceased and desist, but I'm going to go home and do that right now. But if someone put it in there, they published it or something, they used it and they're like, I'm coming out with a cookbook and they, yeah, I'm sure that's happened. She knows it's happened. That makes you think of the, Friends episode. Do you watch Friends Trisha? Yeah, I did back in the day.
Starting point is 01:04:02 Phoebe has this awesome chocolate chip cookie recipe from her grandma, and it's really just the back of the Nestle's. Yes. It's Nestle's chocolate chips, but Phoebe never really put two to do together, but yeah. But I feel, and also if you have a recipe that's great and I want to use it or I just want to make it. I don't need to put it in a book if you don't, if it's your family, blah, blah, blah. But if you won't give it to me, then I'm really determined to figure out how to make it. And then I'm going to make it. And then I'm going to put it in a book. Reverse engineer it. Yeah. Yes, and I have done that many times.
Starting point is 01:04:30 Your first solo tour in five years. Yes. Every girl on tour kicks off October 3rd with a special three-night engagement with the Nashville Symphony at the Shermerhorn Symphony Center. I'm amazed by this because whenever someone like yourself plays with the symphony, that is all about the people coming to the show because it's expensive to hire an orchestra. And that's you going, I just want to have this a special show more than anything else. Yeah, and I'm excited about it. It's an amazing venue to play. The sound is incredible.
Starting point is 01:04:58 it's going to give me a really cool opportunity to do the Sinatra stuff and then, you know, do a changeover and do, and we have a lot of cool arrangements for, we have a really cool symphony arrangement for Walkaway Joe. Even for like Rungs out of Memphis, because we did some symphony shows back in the day. And so I think it's going to be really fun. So cool. 22 cities on this tour, a lot of our cities that listen here. So if you're in Boston or Chicago or St. Louis, New York, Cleveland, it's weren't so many of our cities. Tricia's going to be there. Tricia Yearwood.com slash tour.
Starting point is 01:05:28 And by the way, Amy, you and Trish will be out Thursday, huh? Yeah. Doing the theater in L.A. That's right. Yep. We are. I'm going to be seeing Amy. Look at you guys.
Starting point is 01:05:36 You're going to watch it at Live X Live, which is Live by Live. Okay. What we're going to do is, I'm going to remind people one more time that the album, every girl is out now. We play the single, but you're going to come back and you're going to play for us, which we've never had to come back before. And we didn't even know you were doing that. You really haven't had this happen before? Yeah, that's true. We've had people come out and play before.
Starting point is 01:05:53 What if nobody's ever played? And this is the first performance ever on our show. I'm like, because I'm pretty sure my daughter did, but I'm not going to call you out on it, but I think. I mean, even guard has. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But for you, you've never played for us. Well, I'm excited. I'm honored.
Starting point is 01:06:06 On the Bobby Bones show now. Tricia Herewood. Had to have some live music. Pretty cool, huh? Yes. Love it. Let me say this. In honor of their 50th anniversary, Cracker Barrel, is celebrating women in country music through their five
Starting point is 01:06:17 decades one voice campaign. Cracker Barrel has partnered with legendary female country music to empower the next generation of women in country music. Each artist has selected emerging female artists or songwriters that they want to lift up and mentor. And so what about you? Who did you team up with? I teamed up with the writers of every girl in this town. So Connie Harrington, Caitlin Smith, and Eric Dillon, who became the honorary chick songwriter for the song. You know, I'm often an honorary chick, so I get it.
Starting point is 01:06:42 You get it. Yeah. So, yeah, I wanted to showcase them because this was a song that was written and was in town for about five years. And so I think everything kind of happens when it's supposed to. I love Caitlin, too. She's his friend. Yeah, she's awesome. That's what, you know, this song is not easy to say.
Starting point is 01:06:55 And that's partly because she's got such a range that a lot of people just are like, we love the song, but we can't record it because we can't sing it. Yeah, that's a thing, huh? It is a thing. It's saying so, so tough. Yeah. Like Natalie, Natalie Hemby and Hillary, Hillary. Hillary Lindsay, her songs are hard to sing for people too.
Starting point is 01:07:13 Yeah. I mean, there's some, like, when I was listening to songs for this album, just the demos, the singer-songwriters in this town, the females, it's fierce. There's some amazing talent. The five decades one voice campaign looks back at five-decade. of women in country music. Tricia, I'll ask you, who's been, like, a personal influence to you?
Starting point is 01:07:30 Well, my biggest musical influence was Linda Ronstat and still is, and she and I become friends, which is surreal to me, just the power in her voice. I'm really honored. Loretta Linn has been a big part of this crackerbrow thing,
Starting point is 01:07:41 and Loretta is like, you know, when we talk today about women and country music and how hard to just get played on the radio and all that stuff, Loretta's got to be sitting there going, girl, like, you guys have no idea. Like, just, just be quiet and sing. Like, she, you know,
Starting point is 01:07:55 traveling, touring, talking about touring on a bus, touring in a car, and they're just a handful of girls on the radio. Most of them that didn't even get last names. So she's amazing. Tricia, you're what is here. Her album is out called Every Girl. I suggest you. You give it a listen. We played every girl in this town. You know a song that I love? And I don't, I don't know if you play this or not, but Bible in a 44. Like, tell me about that song. Ashley McBride wrote this song about her dad. And what I think is amazing, what shows the true talent of a songwriter, is Most people who've heard this song see their dads in it, especially girls, like their daddy's little girl. And so to be able to it to be so personal to me, even though I didn't write it, is the mark I think of a great songwriter.
Starting point is 01:08:36 Now, do you play this? Can you guys play this? Yeah, we do. I mean, I did. I actually, I'm not going to play it. Johnny's going to play it. Johnny Garcy. My new guitar player has been with me since 91. So, you know, your new guitar player. Okay, Johnny, how are you good? Yeah. We have not ever done this live. So we've rehearsed it once, I think, for the tour. We haven't even, we're just getting started rehearsing. bear with us, but we'll do a little piece of it for you if you want. I love this song. It's called Bible and a 44. Trisha Yearwood. Yeah, please do. Here we go. Trish Yearwood, everybody. Hey, guys, so because of licensing roles, we can't play anything with music on this IHeartRadio
Starting point is 01:09:09 channel or podcast anymore, but you can go to Bobbybones.com to see it. We hate that we had to take it down. It wasn't our decision, but I just wanted to keep you up, and we wanted to keep up as much as possible. So go to bobbybones.com to watch or hear whatever you're missing right now, and thank you for listening to the show. And sorry about all the legal stuff. You know what other song? I love this. It's the first track on the record. Working on Whiskey. I want to play some of this here. Listen to this. This is Working on Whiskey. Tell me about that one. Working on Whiskey.
Starting point is 01:09:49 So Jessica Mitchell, Canadian artist, writer, I just, I don't know. I just thought it was powerful. Talking about Ronstadt, to me, it sounds like that kind of song, like something she might have recorded back in the day. And I don't know, Garth Fund is my producer, was the guy who said, this should be the first cut. Like, we'll set it up, like, hang on. Here's what's coming. because it's just a powerful song. And it's depressing, which I like. And it's powerful and it's the first song. I like that because you hit it and it's like, oh, okay, this is what we're going to do here.
Starting point is 01:10:16 Yeah, that's how we felt like it's like, okay, just keep listening because this is, if this is how we're starting. Yeah. That's how I felt with it. Cool. I always wonder, too, because I know you have Garth on one of your songs, what gave me away. How do you, how does that conversation come up? Like, hey, will you sing on this record? What is that conversation?
Starting point is 01:10:33 Well, we've sung on each other's records for a long time. and it just depends on if the song merits it. I think people assume because we live together that I can make him sing on my record. And I guess I can, you know, but I don't want to use him and abuse that relationship if it's not right. What gave me away is a song about the person that just has your number and he's got my number. So it's like I can't imagine doing it with anybody else. But I guess he could have said, I don't, you know, I don't think that's for me. And he would if he didn't feel like it was.
Starting point is 01:10:59 But he loved that song. And he was like, yeah, I'd love to give it a shot. Did you ever be like, guards, I need a little more out of you. Let's go a little higher. Oh, yeah. Absolutely. Because he does that to me. We have a famous story from when he recorded Shameless and I was doing this wailing thing at the end and he asked me to go sing this high note. And I was like, I got this.
Starting point is 01:11:14 Like, you know, and I go and I hit it and I'm thinking that was awesome. And he's like, yeah, I need more. I need you to give me more. You're like, you know, you're just making it look effortless. I need you to really push. And I'm like, okay. So I'm, you know, all right. So I did it again.
Starting point is 01:11:26 And I'm like, that was it. And he's like, yeah, you need to. And I was so mad by the time I hit it. I was like, okay, here you go. And it was like, ah. He's like, there it is. So when you hear shameless again at the end, you hear that wailing thing,
Starting point is 01:11:37 just know I was really, really, really pissed off of him. Because that's you going, ha, like the big female high. Yes, yes. I'm wanting to strangle him in that moment. Oh, wow. I just thought that was hard. And that's her.
Starting point is 01:11:50 Yeah. I know. I think the next time he would have just said, I'll just do it. Tricia Yearwood's here. Every girl is the record. Would you do something, you know, one of the big hits you do during the show?
Starting point is 01:12:03 Yeah. People ask me all the time about She's in Love with the Boy. We should do a little piece of that. I would love it. Because people think that you must get really sick of singing that. And I love the story of this song. I never get tired of singing it because people know it and sing along and it's really cool. You're not required to sing along by the way this morning. We'll run it.
Starting point is 01:12:18 Tricia Yearwood's here. All right, whenever you guys are ready. Let me do a couple of plugs here. Every girl, the record, and also she's going out on tour. She's doing 22 cities. Tricia Yearwood.com slash tour. And then this Thursday night, which is just, September 5th. Amy's going out to LA to do this. I am. Look at you. You're taking her out of the show.
Starting point is 01:12:37 I know. I'll bring her back. It's worth it. Okay. Take care of her. I will. I promise. I got her. At 10 Eastern, 7 Pacific, I Heart Country with Amy hosts a very special Every Girl album release party and it'll be streamed at Live X Live. So you can watch it. It'll be good, huh? You tell me. Oh, yes. Of course. We're going to have a great time. Let me run this by you. What's the last concert you've had to buy tickets for, Trisha? Oh, my. You're pretty cool. Cool. Cool. You don't buy tickets very often. I know. I'm pretty cool. I didn't buy tickets to Lizzo.
Starting point is 01:13:07 I didn't buy tickets to go see Michelle Obama. I bought tickets to, I don't know. Oh. Well, she didn't even have to buy tickets to Lizzo. Yeah, she's cool. But I would. She's cool. I know.
Starting point is 01:13:18 Last movie you saw in a theater, Trisha. A star is born. Okay. And you thought it was? I loved it. But like you go to the movie theater with everybody else or you and Garth just rent it. No, no. That's that a crazy question.
Starting point is 01:13:31 Yeah. I know. You just buy it. You just drive him and be like, I'll buy that one. Did you go see it? I'd like to go to a movie, buy the Cinemark. Would you go, do you go with Garth? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:40 What? I'm not going to tell you where we go, but we go to a thing. I mean, yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, well, no, we go in, you buy your ticket, you get your popcorn, you go sit in this. Oh, we're familiar with the process. We just, we paid for our tickets. We bought our tickets. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:55 Okay. Tricia Yearwood, check out the record, check out the song, check out the tour. I'm so thankful that you came and played. I'm so thankful to see your. face. Same here. Starting point is 01:16:34 Hey, everyone. It's Cal Penn. I'm the host of Earsay, the Audible and I Heart Audio Book Club. This week on the podcast, I am sitting down with Ray Porter, the narrator of Andy Weir's
Starting point is 01:16:47 audiobook Project Hail Mary, massive sci-fi adventure about survival and science, and what happens when you wake up alone very far from Earth? I really had to make a decision because I caught myself getting that frog in my throat
Starting point is 01:17:02 and starting to get teet as I'm narrating some of these sections, and it's like, okay, yo, yeah, yo, is this indulgent? And I really thought about it. I was like, no, at this point, it would kind of be betraying the trust the author and the listener have in telling this story if I don't go through it. But there's places in this book that deeply emotionally affected me, and I left it on the mic. That's great. Because it served the story. People will say like, oh my God, I cried at the end. It's like, yeah, dude, me too. Listen to Earsay, the audible and I heart audio. Book Club on the I Heart Radio app or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 01:17:41 Here's Amy's pile of stories. So did you see the story about the 80-year-old woman that fell asleep in her car? And then she woke up and she was left in the driveway, but her car was gone. Wait, what? Yeah. Apparently someone took her out of her car, stole it, and she didn't wake up through the entire thing. They picked her up, like scooped her up and laid her down. Cops are trying to track down the thief.
Starting point is 01:18:02 So, I mean, they found the car abandoned, like, later, like a day later, but they still don't know who took it and what happened, but maybe they were opportunistic. You see someone asleep. Take it for a joy ride. I can't believe she didn't wake up. And you know what? Can I help raise them by those guys to grab her and think we can get away with this?
Starting point is 01:18:21 Because what if she wakes up? Then what do you do? Right. Well, she was 80. Oh, just taking you to your bed. 80's not that old. I know 80's old, but 80's not 100. Wow.
Starting point is 01:18:31 How old's your dad? Well, 78. And had he not got sick? Right. He was basically 60. So, yeah, it depends on her health, the condition of her health. But she needed a nap, but they were able to pick her up, lay her in the driveway without waking her. And as far as they know, nobody was knocked out or drugged or anything.
Starting point is 01:18:52 She was just taking a nap. So if you're going to nap in your car, lock it. Okay. Thank you for that tip. We'll remember that. All right. What else? So posting too many selfies can make you look like, well, a loser.
Starting point is 01:19:04 For a couple reasons. It's a study done at Washington State, and it found that people who posted a ton of them were viewed as lonelier, less confident, less dependable, less successful, and less likable overall. I'm not a big selfie guy. I almost never take them except I took two when I was on vacation
Starting point is 01:19:22 because I was by myself. I took one with ice cream, one with the castle. And even then I was like, I'm not going to take too many selfies because when people post much selfies, I'm like, they look very vain. Okay. You post posies. That's the new word.
Starting point is 01:19:36 So there's selfies where you're taking the picture of yourself. And then you have posies, which are people, like you are just... I don't have a lot of posies either. Oh, really? You do posies hard. I don't do many posies. By myself? I don't have any posies on my page.
Starting point is 01:19:49 What are you talking about? No, but you do like, okay, I'm going to pose and act like I'm not posing. That's not what a posy is. Okay, so, and I was going to say people that do posies are seen more likable. Oh, I don't do posies either, really. Okay. Because I'm looking at my pictures. Like they're all
Starting point is 01:20:05 What happened to someone I'm just like hey take a picture I mean there's like a hundred pictures I just choose the best one I'm not posing for it Right it's just what they're calling it Bobby It's terrible term You like you got defensive real fast
Starting point is 01:20:16 No I'm just telling you I don't take posy hard You posey hard I don't have posing Because Amy you'll take like 100 pictures Like you just act like I'm not taking Mine I know they're being taken And you can tell I know they're being taken Okay
Starting point is 01:20:26 But you'll be like I'm gonna do all these movements And act like I'm not looking at the camera That's a posy to me That's what I like to do But anyway, okay, so do you bite or suck on these foods? Go ahead. This is kind of the, we're getting to know you. Orange slices, bite them or suck them?
Starting point is 01:20:43 I chew, buy it, chew. Ice cubes. I don't chew till after, I mean, I'll like it down and then chew it after a breaking point. Gummy bears. Chew. Chocolate. Chew. Who would suck chocolate, you weirdo?
Starting point is 01:20:59 Psycho killer. Oh, sometimes. She would be good. So good. And lastly, popsicles, bite or suck. Suck on it until it gets to the point where it's breaking and then chew it. Okay. Fair enough.
Starting point is 01:21:11 Is it like what most people do? Yeah, I mean, you went with the, you had a lot of dancers that most people do. You're basically America. Basically, uh, yes, I am. All right, thank you. It's time for the good news. With lunchbox. Tell me something good.
Starting point is 01:21:28 Miss Williams of Shreveport, Louisiana realizes some kids don't get to eat breakfast before they go to school. She's like, I'm going to do something about it. So she goes every Wednesday morning to the bus stop and hands out free breakfast to kids and parents that's standing at the bus stop. Rain or shine, she's there. She says, hey, the kids need a boost in the morning so they get to eat for free.
Starting point is 01:21:47 Good for her. Volunteering time, most importantly, and a little bit of money too. That's what's all about right there. That was Tell Me Something Good. Folks, it's your buddy and mine. Mr. Bobby Bones. Let know. Transmating.
Starting point is 01:22:08 All right, Amy's got the morning. Corny, let's go. The morning corny! What did the wolf say when it stubbed its toe? What did the wolf say when it stubbed its toe? Ouch! Are we going crickets? I mean, it's a corn, yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:29 Are you kidding? That one is so good. Y'all, stop. And the delivery was perfect. I mean, you did deliver it well. Thank you. Ow. What do you say when you stub your toe?
Starting point is 01:22:41 Ouch, but when a wolf stout. Yeah, we have a good. All right, there you go. She didn't hit it today. There it is. That was the morning corny. All right. My dog had been away for a week.
Starting point is 01:22:57 I went away for a week instead of putting him in a doggy daycare or instead of putting them, you know, like somebody just coming hanging at my house for a week, I sent him to training. And so he comes back and he's just real sick. He's super sick. I take him to the vet. throwing up all day, he's got snot coming out of his nose. Like really sick.
Starting point is 01:23:16 So I'm just kind of dealing with that. So I don't know how trained he is. I just know he's tired. Tired and sick. I took him this morning and because he was, so he could hold it, he would be in his kennel through the night. Now he's not anymore.
Starting point is 01:23:29 It just hangs out in his room. It's fine. But I went this morning and he's just throwing up everywhere. It was almost hard to leave this morning. Oh, man. Because he didn't want to leave a sick dog. But I called a friend. So, yeah, people are asking how he is.
Starting point is 01:23:44 I don't know. I don't know if he's trained yet. He's acting a lot better, but probably because he's sick. He's like too tired to be all rowdy. He's not chewing on stuff. Right. But yeah, a lot of update questions about that. I don't quite know yet.
Starting point is 01:23:56 I just know he's pretty ill. Well, do you ask the other people, were there other dogs at camp or training or whatever? Could he've caught something from a friend? I don't know. That's what happened to my kids. They catch something from dogs? No, from friends.
Starting point is 01:24:09 They both came home from school. Our throats hurt. Last night I had to give him. NyQuil before bed. I was like, sorry kids. I know. I said, sorry kids, guess we're going to have to take medicine at 7 p.m. It's time to go to bed. Like a little bit you sent on to bed earlier than yeah, well they really do need the rest. They really did have something going on. But the fact that they legit needed the medicine, they were going to bed early and it was going to knock them out. Kind of was pretty awesome. Not going to lie. And then what did you do after 7 p.m. last night?
Starting point is 01:24:38 I watched Yellowstone. Oh, yeah. Yeah. We should do that in a second. Let's all share what we're watching because I've started a new show too and I'm a whole season through it and it's pretty good. Okay. And so, oh, I'm curious. I'm anxious to hear about Yellowstone because I've heard so many people talk about that show. And for me, those Westerns just, that's just not for me. But hold off on any anything you're going to say about it. I'm holding off. Because I just, it's not even Westerns. It's the colors of shows. I'm pretty bad colorblind. And those greens and browns, those kind of shows, I'm just like, I don't know. It all looks the same. Yeah. And that show, and I think that's what gets me with the Western stuff, they're all colored like that.
Starting point is 01:25:14 Yeah. And so in those colonial pieces where it's like Marie Antoinette as a colorblind guy, where a lot of those colors look the same, I hate those colors look the same. I hate those shows and they come out. I don't even want to watch them. Am I still supposed to hold what I'm going to say? Yeah, because we're going to do it. It's a whole segment coming up. Well, I have a question for you. Go ahead.
Starting point is 01:25:29 So what period of time do you think Yellowstone takes place? The Western? When the Great Western happened? I'm like you. I'm like you. I thought that too, but I was wrong. Back in the Great Western days of Western. of westernist stuff. I was wrong. We'll come back.
Starting point is 01:25:45 We'll do those. I do want to hit you with the never going to get it here that'll take us through the break. I'll give you the answer on the other side. Ready? Ready? The average person will use 57 of these today.
Starting point is 01:26:00 What is it? Like. Today. Okay, think about it. I'm going to answer it again in a second. Let me read it again. The average person will use 57 of these today. Okay.
Starting point is 01:26:11 What is it? What did you say it? Likes. I said likes. Okay, that's your answer. Mine's probably more at 500. I'm working on it. Mine's like one.
Starting point is 01:26:19 I have to remind myself to like things on Instagram. No, not like. Like saying the word like. Oh, yeah, you do say it a lot. Oh, that's like $5,700 for you. Not liking. That's funny that that's what you thought of. I thought that that was your, I thought you were.
Starting point is 01:26:34 I know. In one of days, a lot better than zero a week, which used to be. Sometimes I'll just go, you know what I haven't got my likes in today, so I'll just go and like everything on my Instagram feed. Oh, when you like my stuff, I really think you like it. I do. That's because I've thought about it. It's made me go, oh, I should like things again.
Starting point is 01:26:47 Oh, okay. So, yeah, I don't just throw out like. It's like hugs. I know. We're over hugging so much that hugs don't even matter anymore. Like if we would stop hugging everybody, hugs would be worth a lot more. And so that's why I don't hug many people.
Starting point is 01:27:00 If I hug you, that means from a heart is hugging you. If I like your stuff, that means I like your stuff. But I always appreciate people like my stuff, so I should like theirs more. Let's go over to Erica in New Orleans. Erica, you're on the Bobby Bone Show. Here's your question. The average person will use 57 of these today. What are they?
Starting point is 01:27:21 I was going to say pieces of ice. Pretty good guess. It is not pieces of ice. Dorn. And Amy, what was yours? Saying the word like. It's squares of toilet paper. I don't.
Starting point is 01:27:36 I haven't used a bathroom in like four days. Oh, wow. I got something going on. Or nothing going on. So it's like, I got something in there. It's not. But, um, 57 pieces of toilet paper. That seems like a lot.
Starting point is 01:27:49 I don't seem like very many, I think. 57 square is a, no, I mean, I just like five and that's it. If you go one. Five? Five? Yeah. A square? 57. I'm sorry, that's incorrect. Erica, you did not win.
Starting point is 01:28:03 We didn't even have a prize for you. So you get the same thing either way. Well, thank you. Anything you want to say. You didn't get through. What would you like to say? Nothing. I love your show.
Starting point is 01:28:13 Love listening. I've never called in before, so. Oh, hey, there she is. Look at this. What a great first appearance in the morning. It's fantastic. All right. Hey, thank you for calling.
Starting point is 01:28:21 Wish we'd got it right. Awesome. We all have a good day. All right. See you later. Amy, I'll give you one more. According to Mincea, nearly one and four people
Starting point is 01:28:28 with a genius level IQ is born with what trait. Just one for fun. Ray Mundo, if you can give me a little music. According to Mincea, nearly one of four people with a genius level IQ are born with what trait? Left-handed.
Starting point is 01:28:43 That's correct. Which is you. You would have got that one. Right. I think Mike Dia wrote that one out because he knew I'd use it. Yeah, the way you said it was like... I was smiling when I said it. I happened to be this person.
Starting point is 01:28:53 Left-handers make up about a large percentage of the regular heavy IQ population. Wow. There you have it. I was reading the story about the student. A beginner student pilot, it says, was taking his first Cessna lesson. And so he's up and he has an instructor with him. His first lesson in the Cessna, and the instructor passed out cold in the Codagh. pit.
Starting point is 01:29:16 Like, so here he is up there flying the plane. The instructor's out. And do I have the audio from the plane? Ramundo? Here you go.
Starting point is 01:29:23 And leaning over my shoulder. I'm trying to keep him out but he keeps falling down. That's when I'd pee. Yeah. Everywhere. So he's up and his plane and he's like, my guy's out.
Starting point is 01:29:54 The guy's teaching me. He's out. And they walk him through it. And so I text this message over to Amy and I'm like, Amy, this pilot had to land a plane
Starting point is 01:30:03 on his first ever lesson. What does your husband think about this? because your husband in the Air Force, was in the Air Force, is still a pilot today? Right. He's also an instructor. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:12 So here is Amy's husband, and is he with a flight instructor? He's with another instructor. When I sent it to him, he happened to be getting checked out. All pilots have to get checked out in certain planes at certain times, day, night. So my husband was getting checked out
Starting point is 01:30:25 in a particular plane at night. And so I said, well, why don't you talk about this? Well, here is Amy's husband Ben asking the flight instructor if a person without training can land a plane. Kind of depends on what kind of runaway he's going to, whether or not he's got a visual approach slope indicator. Yeah. And if he does, he can put himself on that glide path. So pretty much anybody could do it?
Starting point is 01:30:48 I think him having been in the airplane, you know, one or two flights, gave him a comfort level that the average person would not have. But it's certainly something that he should have been able to do safely. See, I guess it was not a big deal. Yeah, right. all the liquid in my body will be out. Fomit mouth, pee-pee, everywhere. I'd be like, what? Like, wake up, man.
Starting point is 01:31:11 And to clarify that, I think a lot of that means a person should be able to be talked through it. Like with air traffic control or an instructor or someone, the instructor my husband was with even said, you know, I would hop up. If I was nearby, I'd get in a plane, go get next to him, talking through the whole thing next to him
Starting point is 01:31:26 and say, okay, right now this is the move you need to make. This is the button you need to put. Somebody eyes up next to me. I think they're going to try to dog fight me. and top gun. What do I do now? Yeah. So here's Amy's husband.
Starting point is 01:31:37 He says the guy was able to do it because pretty much he stayed calm. And he stayed calm the whole time and listened to instructor. And that's the biggest thing I think was him staying calm and being able to process instead of just losing his mind. Now, if he was going to a runway that had no glide path information, with his experience, that's going to be pretty hard for him to do. Right. And had I been around in a Cirrus or a 172, I would have gotten on his wing and talked to
Starting point is 01:32:02 down. Block four mission. Yeah, just. I don't know what a lot of that means. Not me either. Talking about Pats. But that's pretty cool that guy was able to land the plane. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:32:11 My husband said it was super impressive. All you have to do is be calm. Stay calm. All you have to do. Okay. Sit back and relax. As long as you take deep breaths and land this thing, you'll be, okay. Watch me be calm.
Starting point is 01:32:23 Right. I would freak out. We did mention Amy was going to review Yellowstone. Yes. Okay, go ahead. Five stars. five bulls, cattle, five cattle.
Starting point is 01:32:36 What channel is this on? Amazon Prime. Okay. So Kevin Costner owns this ranch or whatever property called Yellowstone. It's not National Park.
Starting point is 01:32:47 Yelston National Park? No, it's in Montana. And he, he, there, it's modern day. I thought for a long time. Yeah, 1800s. No, no, no. Everyone was raving about Yellowstone
Starting point is 01:32:59 and me like you, Bobby, I'm not really into a Western you know, back in 1930 or whatever year this took place. No, it's now. And it's really interesting. There's so many layers. It's very good.
Starting point is 01:33:13 And it's now, the color, everything about it is modern. Don't worry about that. It's not a Western. They fool you with the intro. It looks very westerny, but it's not. I won't even watch that show
Starting point is 01:33:23 with Ashton Coucher because, oh, the ranch. Right. I agree. Because it's in the Western area. I was wrong. I was wrong about this show for a long time. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:33:34 Okay, so you love... Yellowstone. Weird that it's not about the National Park. That's like going, you know what? We're going to do a show called Wrigley Field, but it's not actually about where they're playing baseball. It's about just a field name rig. It's kind of a big name to pick.
Starting point is 01:33:47 What's the name of the, they brand? You could get branded on your chest with the Yellowstone brand. I've been watching because Mike D. Reviewed on his Instagram story. I started watching Barry. Do you guys watch Barry? No. It's really good.
Starting point is 01:34:00 He's a hitman who had come out of the military. He's a Marine. And then he becomes a hitman after. He doesn't have a lot of options after. But one of his hits is in L.A. And he's going to go and do a hit on somebody in an acting class. And so he's in the acting class. And he's like, oh, I kind of like this.
Starting point is 01:34:16 And so he becomes an actor while he's being a hitman. It's funny? It's pretty funny. I mean, it's not a straightforward comedy, meaning it's not just all laughs. There's no laugh track. What channels is it on normally? HBO. I watch it on my.
Starting point is 01:34:29 on my computer. So, yeah, Barry's pretty good. I've watched one season of two, and they're only 30-minute episodes. Oh, that's good. I'm watching Glow on Netflix, too. You watch that at all? No, you told me I wouldn't really like it.
Starting point is 01:34:41 A long time ago when you first started. It's the girl wrestlers? Yeah, it's about roughly based on literally the gorgeous ladies of wrestling, which was an 80s wrestling thing, so it's based on that. Being told Yellowstone is on the Paramount Network. Okay, well, I watch it on Amazon Prime.
Starting point is 01:34:57 Yeah, no, me too. I'll hit that button. My TV has a thing called apps on it. Well, one of them does. My TV doesn't. Paramount Network is a thing. I don't even know. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:35:08 I just try to find it. And it is, man, I had to buy it on Amazon Prime, but it's worth it. Oh, so you're buying it on Amazon Prime. It's not just if you have an Amazon account. Correct. Great. Well, I don't know. You can maybe get it.
Starting point is 01:35:20 Maybe your cable, because we canceled our cable stuff. All we have is Hulu Live and Amazon Prime's. That's where our money goes now. Did you, same amount of money going out, because you're just buying all these shows? Yeah, right, yeah, yeah. This week on the podcast, I am sitting down with Ray Porter, the narrator of Andy Weir's audiobook Project Hail Mary, massive sci-fi adventure about survival and science, and what happens when you wake up alone very far from Earth?
Starting point is 01:37:56 I really had to make a decision because I caught myself getting that frog in my throat and starting to get teary as I'm narrating some of these sections. And it's like, okay, yo, yeah, yo, is this indulgent? And I really thought about it. I was like, no, at this point, it would kind of be betraying the trust the author and the listener have in telling this story if I don't go through it. But there's places in this book that deeply emotionally affected me and I left it on the mic. That's great. Because it served the story. People will say like, oh my God, I cried at the end.
Starting point is 01:38:28 It's like, yeah, dude, me too. Listen to Earsay, the Audible and IHeart Audio Club. On the IHeart Radio app or wherever you get your podcasts. Lunchbox has a lottery story that you found yesterday. What's happening over there? Oh my gosh, this guy back in May, he won a million dollars in the lottery. So you think, okay, he's rich. He's going to walk away and quit playing.
Starting point is 01:38:50 Then this weekend he goes and buys a $25 scratch off, and he won $100,000. Wow. If you won a million dollars, How much are you putting back into lottery tickets? I'll probably the same amount that I've been putting in because it obviously is a good system because I put in $100 a paycheck
Starting point is 01:39:06 and I win a million. So that means, hey, that $100 is doing a good thing. But because now you have more money or you're not putting more money into it? No, because then you get reckless. That's the problem. As people get greedy is once you win, you think, oh, you start chasing that high again of that win.
Starting point is 01:39:23 If you just stay consistent, that's how gamblers win. They always say in Vegas, don't, like, If you lose them. Gamblers don't really win, right? Like for the most part, you don't win. Odds are you're not going to win. There's a reason why they are able to make these casinos really nice. They're able to offer free stuff to gamblers.
Starting point is 01:39:41 It's because the odds are against you. Right. And more times than not, people lose. Right. That's what I'm saying. You can't get reckless. Like if you're playing blackjack, you can't lose a $20 hand and be like, oh, got to double up to catch up, put $40 out there.
Starting point is 01:39:53 That's how the casino gets you. So you got to stay consistent. So keep the $100. but man, if I won a million dollars, I'd be on a nice vacation. As you're giving this advice about gambling, though, and all this casino winnings, have you ever won the lottery? I've won $250 on a scratch off. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 01:40:10 That's the most you've ever won? That's the most I've ever won. And then you pay how much a month? Well, $100 each paycheck, so that's $200. And then if I'm at the gas station and I just feel like there's someone calling my name, if I'm checking out, and it just shines right off the light, I'll buy it. So you spend about $250 a month? Probably.
Starting point is 01:40:28 But the most you've ever won is $250. Yeah. But it just takes once. That's what I'm saying. You guys don't understand. It takes one big hit for all that to be like, whoo, come to daddy. Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 01:40:41 And I dream about it all the time. Like, I play. I hope he wins one day because he's the most passionate person about the lottery that I know. He's who they look for. Right. But I... He's their demo. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:40:54 I hope... What do you mean? People that want to be rich? Yeah, absolutely. People they won't, no, okay, yeah. People that will buy the ticket. If you're doing it for entertainment, I think it's great. Right.
Starting point is 01:41:03 But you're doing it because you think it's an investment. It is an investment. You can't win if you don't play. You guys are, oh, you have better odds to do it. No, no, no. You have to play to win. And listen, if you don't win, sit on the sideline. If you want to live your life sitting on the sideline all the time.
Starting point is 01:41:18 I sit on the sideline at the lottery. Okay, that's how you want to play your life, sit on the sideline. I want to be in the game. Been playing. Have you done the math on the thousands of dollars? Thousands and thousands of dollars. Trust me. Guess what?
Starting point is 01:41:27 It ain't adding up to a million. So when I hit a million, payday, I'll profit. But you know it doesn't make your odds any better when you lose and go to the next one. Like, it's not like you have a better chance of winning now because you've been playing all that time. I understand that. But if I stop playing now, then I have no chance to win. That's what I'm saying. You have to keep playing until you win.
Starting point is 01:41:44 If I win $100 million, all those thousands of dollars, it's just like whatever. Right. That's true. But if you don't win $100 million. What about all those thousands of dollars? Then it's a little sad. At the end of my life, if I haven't won, then I'll look back and be like, man, I could have done something cool with that money.
Starting point is 01:41:58 Had a lot of money. There's a couple that won $500,000, and now they're accused of a burglary spree, too. What? This lottery, apparently, as soon as you win it, you turn into a bad person. Wow. Just a couple of Michigan that won $500,000
Starting point is 01:42:12 bucks were just arrested for a two-month burglary spree. They're facing charges of home invasion and the burglary of tools. Those tools are expensive. Yeah. It's like supermarket sweep. Going for the big turkey, you go for the tools when you rob the place.
Starting point is 01:42:23 Yeah, there you go. It's time for the good news. With Bobby. Tell me something good. So when Hurricane Dorian arrived in the Bahamas, this woman Chella sprang into action, and she opened her home and she rescued 100 dogs. Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 01:42:38 A hundred dogs. That's amazing. And protecting them from the dangerous storm, she runs an animal rescue in the city of Nassau and knows firsthand just how many homeless dogs there are and dogs that people maybe have left behind if they knew it was coming and they were able to get off the island. She estimates that she saved about 100 dogs during this
Starting point is 01:42:57 and maybe a thousand dogs in efforts before the storm even hit, like putting the animals in places. And I think that's fantastic. So I love dogs. I love people to save dogs. And I guess I'm in love with her. I'll just say it. I'm in love with her.
Starting point is 01:43:09 She's single? Yeah, I'm in love. I'm in love with Chella Phillips. I said it. I said it. All right, that's what it's all about right there. That was tell me something good. Folks, it's your buddy and mine.
Starting point is 01:43:21 Mr. Bobby Bones. I was thinking about you, Amy. I read this story. There's a vegan who had. I've taken her neighbors to court because the smell of meat from their barbecues is bothering her so much that she's like, we're going to court. I'm taking you in. Oh, wow. The court and the state's body had included that cooking smells, cigarette smoke, reflective light, and at the sounds of children, she just sounds like a terrible neighbor.
Starting point is 01:44:04 Right. Regardless of the vegan part, the headline was all about her being a vegan and smelling meat. was the real reason she took them in? Right. What's up with your meat to intake? Oh, I'm eating meat now. Are you? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:44:14 I eat all kinds of protein now. I don't discriminate, which I only went vegan because a long time ago because I was trying to get pregnant. I went vegan, gluten-free, organic, like all the things. And I didn't get pregnant, but I kept going because I did feel good. For me at the time, that's what worked and I felt good. And then now I feel better eating meat. And so I was, but I felt bad about it for a while because I was vegan for so long, or like 70% vegan.
Starting point is 01:44:43 And now I'm like, who cares? Like just eat what you feel like if that's what you want. So your advice would be? Listen to your body. I felt like I put a certain amount of pressure on myself to not eat that much fish or meat or protein because I wasn't eating that before. Why? What made you think that that was? I read a book.
Starting point is 01:45:01 Because most people that I know they got pregnant were eating a lot of meat. Right. Well, I was eating meat and not getting pregnant. So then this girl told me she started doing this plan and she cut out meat and gluten all this stuff and she got pregnant. So she gave me the book. Did she think that got her pregnant?
Starting point is 01:45:16 Yes, a lot of people did. And she also, in the book, it talked about getting the colonics. Remember when I went to do that? Yeah. And the acupuncture and I did that. So I did all these things. And I do think at the time I needed to clean up my diet. I think ultimately what that did,
Starting point is 01:45:31 it wasn't that I went vegan. It's that I learned how to really eat clean because it promoted that. I was trying to keep my body, like get my body functioning at a high rate so that I could ovulate, get pregnant and do all the things. So I think it...
Starting point is 01:45:45 You never got pregnant. I never got pregnant. But it taught me how to eat clean, so I thought that that's what was making me feel better. But I really lost weight and started feeling better because of that. Are you still... Trying to get pregnant?
Starting point is 01:45:56 Yeah. Yeah. I mean, now I'm eating meat again. I don't... No, we're not trying, but we're not. It came up when we were at the beach. somebody said something about more kids and I said we're not right
Starting point is 01:46:09 oh you can get this thing done now we're with our friend that's a doctor and he was talking about this thing women can have done where it I don't even know so don't email me that I'm wrong about this but just paraphrasing you burn the uterus or something it's something you go in you're not getting a hysterectomy
Starting point is 01:46:24 or anything you still have all the stuff but it takes away your period and does something and I was like that sounds amazing you don't have to have a period but you still have all your organs and stuff so and then you can't get pregnant and so I might do a little more research and then my husband kind of looked at me
Starting point is 01:46:41 like are we done? I said yes, I think we're done. With babies. Are you going to adopt another? I could see us doing that possibly but at this point getting pregnant right now I'm going through a pregnancy and a newborn if we adopted would probably be older. A newborn, could you imagine?
Starting point is 01:46:58 Yeah, I could. I think you always... I know people do it all the time. Just in general with life. You always think that things a little too much, a little too intense, a little too large, until it happens to you, and you can handle so much more than you think you can. So I can imagine.
Starting point is 01:47:10 Like Eddie, for example, he's got two foster kids. Exactly. Never thought he could take two foster kids with his other kids. He's got a house of four kids right now. I'm 40 years old, and I have a newborn. Right. The house. So, yes, it would be a shift, but I can imagine because we, as humans,
Starting point is 01:47:25 we're so much stronger than we think we are. Right. And we've been tested in so many ways, and we're still here. We're still here. Well put, dude. It's perfect. That's exactly right. So, yeah, I think you need a newborn. Matter of fact, open the door. Bring it in. Surprise.
Starting point is 01:47:41 Here it is. It's a newborn. Maybe. Maybe. I could see us adopting. Maybe. At some point, I'm going to have to have a baby. Yeah. I don't, like, I want kids. And I don't look and go, man, I wish I had a kid right now. But I do go, I wish I was like seven or eight years invested into a kid already so I could have that nine or ten year old. That'd be nice.
Starting point is 01:48:01 Yeah. That's kind of what I feel like. I've missed on. I had to pick early, like, am I going to dedicate myself to my career? Or am I going to dedicate myself to my relationships and a baby? And I chose career. And so, not that I'm not choosing career, but at least I'm kind of, my eyeballs are opening up a little bit. I talked about early this morning. I'm going to new therapist tomorrow. And she's a relationship therapist. And it's just me going, okay, I know that I'm a common denominator of all these failures and relationships. I'm a wonderful boyfriend. As far, as like being kind, but I'm not a wonderful boyfriend as far as like being vulnerable.
Starting point is 01:48:38 Like I'm a great giver, but I'm not a great, I'm a great giver of the easy things, but not of the hard things. And so like I'm a good person, but I'm not just, once it starts to get into that really deep emotional vulnerable, I'm like, you know, I'm probably going to get out of here. I'll tell you guys tomorrow. So I'm going to go and for the first time I'm going to go to a relationship therapist who she normally just deals with couples or couples that come in individually. But I was like, hey, let's switch it up. I'm telling her, let's switch it up. How about?
Starting point is 01:49:12 How about I come in and I'm dating nobody? Check it out. And let's figure out what's wrong with me. All right, let me run this by you. You're half the couple of the couples. Yeah, except there's no other half. Right. So I'm going to go and see what's up.
Starting point is 01:49:25 And maybe it's just a one session, you know, hit or quitter and I'm out and it doesn't work. But maybe I've got to find new ways to, get into my own head. Yeah, I'm super curious to see how it goes. Yeah, me too. I got a message from her. We talked about it this morning.
Starting point is 01:49:38 She didn't hear it, but I got a message like, hey, just confirming the appointment for tomorrow. And I was like, yep, we're in. And it's, again, close to my house, which I was like, my other one was 45 minutes away. What am I going to do? You don't have time for that. No, you have time.
Starting point is 01:49:51 You do, again. Priorities. But really, you don't. I do, but I do. Amy, I agree. It's easy to make an excuse. But again, if I can just go full life here, we are only our priorities.
Starting point is 01:50:04 That's it. And if I'm not getting 45 minutes away to my old therapist, it wasn't my priority to get there. We are only our priorities. That's it. If we don't, we didn't get there or we're not doing it, it's because it's not a high enough priority for us with anything in life, not just this,
Starting point is 01:50:20 with work, with kids, with eating right, whatever it is. If you're not doing it, it's because it's not enough of a priority to you to do it right. And that's okay. If it's okay and that's how it shakes out for you, great. But excuses, those aren't things. Don't make excuses.
Starting point is 01:50:38 Because if you aren't doing it, it's just, it's not a priority enough to do it. Yeah. Just not a big excuse guy. I don't use them myself. But it is convenient to have a therapist closer to you. But it's my fault. That's it.
Starting point is 01:50:52 What do you want to do? I feel like you were just lecturing me because you're looking at me, but I know you're speaking to everybody. I know. I know you're talking to everybody. Ghost of Trisha Yearwood that was here this morning. I know.
Starting point is 01:51:02 In my mind, you're looking at me talking and in my head I'm going, okay, okay, fine, okay. I'm having a conversation with you. I'll make stuff a priority. No, it's just, we only have a few place in our life for the most important things. You can't have 11D 100's number one priorities. You can have one or two or three. Things that really mean a lot to you. And those are the ones you should really invest your time in.
Starting point is 01:51:24 You can have secondaries. I have secondaries. But I got to, it's just relationships got to be up at least to my second. right now. It's not right now. It hasn't been ever. They've been like relationship? Nah, I'd be all right. I'm 39 years old. Eddie's got like 94 kids and I'm like, dang, that's cool. I think when you start having kids, that's because we always talk about, oh, Bobby needs to, you know, enjoy life a little bit. I think when you start having kids, you're going to really enjoy life. Yeah, I don't really enjoy the spoils of my labor. Because I've been crushing it. And it's been a
Starting point is 01:51:56 couple good years for me career-wise too and it's all the same to me i'm just like what's next where can i go next where's the work where can i put it in the work so eddie you think that a kid will change that he still won't try to work because a lot of people have kids and they still work like crazy no because when you have kids it just changes your whole outlook on life he's just like this isn't no longer about me this is about them like i'm going to start living my life but here's what i think i'll do is i go oh it's about them i got to make sure they're taking care of their whole life right i grew up super poor i got to make sure that they're not that way right so i don't think it's that what you're You'll just take them with you.
Starting point is 01:52:26 All right, kids. We're going to go to the set. We're going to hate it. We're going to do a $13 American Idol shoot. Hang out here. Yeah. Everybody feel Tony Robbins? Yeah.

By the way, let me update the fantasy draft yesterday, which we did emojis. And so we drafted our favorite emojis.
Starting point is 01:56:20 This wasn't a good look for the whole show here Only two of us had decent points at all I mean there are a lot of emojis I know but I'm telling you And Eddie you have to sit out you lost you know I lost Yeah by a lot At seven for no not by a lot because all you lunchbox and Morgan number two
Starting point is 01:56:41 A one percentage away It was 8% 8% 7% So all the loser I was the second with 28% and Ray Mundo gets his first win. They crushed it. What do you want to say, Raymondo? Oh, man, start the Dynasty, baby.
Starting point is 01:57:00 Get that trophy ready for me. Well, you got one. That's a good start. You got to get one before you get 10. I was feeling like a loser, though. I kind of feel like I got my groove right now, though. Yeah? That was a dominant performance right there.
Starting point is 01:57:12 With the smiling face, with the hearts with eyes, a great first round pick, the I don't know girl, and then the one with the hand on their face, like, oh. That's a mage. Those are his picks. So between Ray and up. almost 80% of the votes. You?
Starting point is 01:57:27 What did you have? Laughing with tears in the eyes. The eye roll on the fire. Yeah, that's a good. But Ray, Moly, you won. You dominated, bud. Nice work. That's what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 01:57:37 That's real good. Tomorrow, Eddie sits out. Amy comes in. Got it. I'm ready. Yeah, all right. The scoreboard. Morgan number two with four wins.
Starting point is 01:57:47 I have two. Amy has two. Lunchbox has two. Eddie has two. Ray has one. Yeah. We're playing to 10. By the way, we're getting raised.
Starting point is 01:57:54 camera for his room. You know, if you watch us, you can watch us live on Facebook as we do the show. We're putting his own little camera in that room. Oh. Instead of looking to the glass. Yeah, I would hope. If you look at it, I'm smoking cigarettes back here. I'm in a bar. The film,
Starting point is 01:58:07 the glass isn't even cleaned. It looks like it hasn't been windexed. But it's still camera ready, baby. Put us on Facebook. By the way. Ray does not smoke cigarettes. He may have thought. He meant that the glass is dirty. I know what he meant, but for the listeners. And then we always do... Has Ray talked about dipping during the show? I used to
Starting point is 01:58:23 dip during the show, they'd be like, here he is, using tobacco again. Well, that was back in the day, and that was smokeless. It was like six months ago. Nobody smokes in radio studios nowadays. I think people get that. Tomorrow, the draft, will be first dance songs at weddings. And Amy will have the first pick. Oh, wow. Ray will. Because he's
Starting point is 01:58:39 in Amy's spot. Yeah, we can't shift it. Ray just has to be the moving guy. Amy, you got the first pick. Ray will sit in Eddie's spot. Now, you're talking about first dance with a couple or the dad? First dance at the wedding. That's the first dance song at weddings. That's the category. Whatever you decide to put it in is what it is.
Starting point is 01:58:56 Oh, interesting. So, all right, there you go. That's it. Debbie and Franklin is on the phone. I want to hang out with us. Debbie, thanks for calling the show. What's happening? Hi, thank you.
Starting point is 01:59:05 I just wanted to let you know how much, like, your show really impacts people. I was in several airports this past weekend, Nashville, Amarillo, and Dallas. And when you guys talked last week, Amy talked about using the handicapped restrooms, and that was a conversation that you guys had. And like now when I go into Walmart or when I was in the airports, I consciously say, oh, do I need to be using that bigger stall, the bigger handicap breastroom? So I just want to let you know that your shows really do impact people because now I consciously think about it. Oh, thanks. Okay, can't use that one.
Starting point is 01:59:42 So, yeah, I've been listening way back when you guys were in Austin and now I live in outside of Nashville and you guys are awesome. But, yeah, your shows really do impact people because I think of that. those things now. I appreciate that. Yeah. The whole thing was, can you use the big bathroom with the rail on it for handicapped? And the answer is yes. But if there are two, go to the other one.
Starting point is 02:00:06 Because what if someone comes in that actually is handicapped? Right. And they need that open. So it is there for you. You can use it. It's not only for handicapped people, but it is the handicapped stall. So if you can, chill and go to another one. It's like the movie theater, the handicapped seats.
Starting point is 02:00:21 Like you Once I sat in one accidentally Oh boy And then someone rolled up And they were just like looking at me And they were in a wheelchair And I was like what's up I didn't know I was in the handicapped seat
Starting point is 02:00:32 And I felt like the biggest goober And I was like oh my bad I didn't even realize So I appreciate their call You want to take another run at the What do we call in this game The 60 Second Showdown Our station in Chicago does this game
Starting point is 02:00:45 Where they give you a thousand bucks If you can get 10 questions right in 60 seconds I mean, you know, I'll take one more run in it. We can start getting listeners on to do this too. And the questions aren't like really, really hard. They're not hard. Yeah, it's kind of cool. I think it's a fun game.
Starting point is 02:00:59 I like doing it as a category. Amy, are you ready? You want to play? Ready. All right, the category would be U.S. States. Oh, wonderful. Oh, good. Or would you rather get a listener?
Starting point is 02:01:09 I can get a listener on. We can play a song. Amy, you're good at States. Okay. Okay, thank you. You want to get a listener on? For the encouragement. I'll go.
Starting point is 02:01:15 Or if the listener would rather play, I don't want to take it away from them, but I'll play. Hey, Ray, who's on line for? If they're good, just put them on hold. All right now. We'll give them a chance to, I'll tell you what, if they win, I'll give them money at my own pocket. How much? $100. I'm not giving them $1,000.
Starting point is 02:01:30 That's the station's paying for that. Just checking. Just checking. Oh, wait, hold on. What do I get if I win? You're not playing. The caller's going to play. You were going to play, Amy.
Starting point is 02:01:37 We were going to play for a thousand. No, no, no. For a million. No. $100 is what's up for grabs right now. Shit. Bobby Blum. All right, we have Jen on that's going to play the game.
Starting point is 02:01:50 Hey, Jen, you good? Hey. How are you today? You're pretty good, or not? I'm good. Yeah, we're real good. Glad you want to play this game. You have a chance to want $100.
Starting point is 02:01:58 Now, this is not radio station money. They don't give us any money to play games with, which is kind of weird. Sometimes I'll be listening to a podcast, and, like, a podcast, like, 80 people will be like, we've got $1,000 to give away as a gift. And I'm like, I have to use my own money for games. What is it wrong with the system? Well, I appreciate you. Good.
Starting point is 02:02:16 All right, good. Giving me a chance to win your money. Thank you. All right, are you ready to play out? You have 10 questions in 60 seconds. If you can get it all right, you win. Okay. Ready with the timer.
Starting point is 02:02:27 As soon as the first question is over, the timer starts. Question number one. What's the capital of California? San Diego. Incorrect. We'll come back to it. What state is Mount Rushmore in? Oh, gosh.
Starting point is 02:02:44 You can pass. Arizona? Incorrect. What state is known as the land of 10,000 lakes? Oh, Michigan. Incorrect. What state is the Grand Canyon? Arizona.
Starting point is 02:03:01 That's correct. There she is with a big answer. There she is. What state is shaped like a mitten and made up of two parts? Oh, my. Pass. I mean, you got one of five. Let's make the game worth $1,000.
Starting point is 02:03:20 Why not? Let's make it worth $1,000. All right, here we go. What's the postal abbreviation for Arkansas? A.K. Incorrect. Let's make it worth $10,000. Let's make it more $10,000.
Starting point is 02:03:33 Hawaii is located in what ocean? Pacific. Correct. I'm sorry, times up. You did not win $10,000. Clearly, geography is my forte. Mount Rushmore is in South Dakota. The capital of California is.
Starting point is 02:03:50 Sacramento. Correct. 10,000 lakes. The land of 10,000 lakes is? I don't know. Michigan. Minnesota. Minnesota.
Starting point is 02:04:01 You know, I think you guessed Michigan twice and it wasn't right either time. It started with an M. It didn't change. Yeah. I'm like, you know what? She has a point. The Grand Canyon's in Arizona.
Starting point is 02:04:11 The mitten shape is where Raymundo is from. Michigan. Michigan. Oh, man. Everglades National Parks in Florida. The postal abbreviation for Arkansas is AR. Hawaii is in the Pacific Ocean. What's the largest state about population?
Starting point is 02:04:24 Does that count? Amy, largest state about population. By population, New York? California. And finally, what state is known as the land of Lincoln? We're Pennsylvania. Illinois. Sorry.
Starting point is 02:04:41 Hey, you did not win, Jen. How do you feel about your performance today? It's a pretty cool study. Yeah, but you have a lot of heart. You know, you can't really, you can't really understand somebody hard in someone so they get on the air and give it a run. Perfect. What do you do for a living, Jen?
Starting point is 02:04:56 Thank you guys so much. I'm a nurse at an elementary school. Oh, wow, really? When you first start that job, do you get sick every day for a while? Well, you know, I was a nurse at a children's hospital before I started here, so I feel like I was pretty strong on the immune system. I guess now clearly I'm sick at the start of school. Oh, are you sick? Is that why you're a little congested there?
Starting point is 02:05:19 Sound a little raspy, yeah. And so what do you do for yourself when you're a start of school? you're sick? Can you take a needle? Can you do yourself a needle? Can you hold your arm out and go, psh? Oh my gosh, no. I just push through.
Starting point is 02:05:33 My kids are funny because they were asking me telling me I couldn't go to school with my voice sounding like this. And I was like, this is real life. We still have to go to work. Got to pay the bills, kids. That's right. You got bad kids, huh? No, I'm just kidding.
Starting point is 02:05:47 I'm totally kidding. Hey, thank you, Jen, for playing. I would have loved to get you in the million-dollar game. We had a million dollars secretly up to grab you. She didn't win it. Maybe next time. All right. Bye,
Starting point is 02:05:58 bye. Bye, thank you. Have a great day. Hope you feel better. Bye. Bye-bye. She sounds like my dog. My dog's all stufffully and like that.
Starting point is 02:06:05 Came back from training. Sick. He worked too hard. Yeah. I was excited to see how training he was. He was probably like, this is the most work I've ever done in my life. He's like, what's having in here? This is a Bobby Bones show.
Starting point is 02:06:18 Bobby Bonds. There's a new Vinny. machine and including in its vending machine, you can get an engagement ring. Oh, wow. At Rockefeller Center, you can get anything from sandwiches to cookies to a Brooks Brothers shirt, even an engagement ring. Wow. The vending machine ring costs $800, so there have been no takers.
Starting point is 02:06:36 But sometimes I go to the airport and they get headphones or an iPhone. Who would spend that kind of money in a vending machine? Right. You can't even, like, touch it. And I got to touch it. To know what you're going to get. Just in general. I got to touch everything.
Starting point is 02:06:49 I need to touch it. So the vending machine are there to serve people who may need something early in the morning like a shirt or a ring, not just a sandwich. That's pretty fun, huh? You never know when you might be at Rockefeller Center and want to propose. Yeah, I want to get a pair of red wing shoes. An Ohio college student who tried to prank her mom is now recovering from a gunshot wound. Oh my gosh. Did you see this story when she went to the house?
Starting point is 02:07:11 What? Police say the 18-year-old daughter came home from college around 9 p.m. last Friday and tried to surprise her mom. Well, that surprise turned into horror when her mom thinks an intruder's in the house and shoots her. By the way, before I'm a further, she's like, she's okay. Well, yeah. Yeah. Unfortunately, the mother was so frightened that she fired a single shot from her revolver when her daughter ran into the room. Oh, my goodness. The mother obviously freaked out.
Starting point is 02:07:38 And then even more so when she realized she shot her daughter, she hit her in the elbow. Thank goodness. Oh, yeah. Thank goodness she was a horrible shot. sometimes you don't want to hurt the person you just want to scare them so you purposefully aim for... If you're going to shoot. I know. If you're going to shoot, shoot, shoot. Go for it. Okay, if that's your thing,
Starting point is 02:08:00 I'd rather shoot to injure, not shoot to kill. Then they'll pull a gun on you. If you're going to shoot, you've got to shoot to kill. If you're going to shoot. Listen, I'm probably running. I got guns, but I'm probably like, I'm out the window. Out the window. Grab my dog and we're out. Do you see the kid that ate all that french fries and pringles and white bread and went blind?
Starting point is 02:08:18 Yeah. What did you think about that? that? I mean, obviously that's a really poor diet, but there's something going on. I mean, there's probably plenty of people that are living off of stuff like that. It reminds me of me ages 12 through 24. Right. I think he has other things going. Pretty much all eight. Admon due to that. That's you. A teenager in the UK hated vegetables and went years only eating fries, chips, and junk food. And now he's partially blind because of a lack of nutrients and his optic nerves needed those nutrients. And so instead of developing, they kind of
Starting point is 02:08:49 regressed and you can't see now. Tell your kids, you can go blind. I mean, now I can. It is an actual story. That doctor published the case as a 17 year old kid who had permanent vision loss after only eating junk food, vitamin deficiency. And they list pringles by name, which I think is a low blow. Could have been any chip. Right. I love a pringle. Could have been any chip. Right. Because now they're associated with causing. You know, if someone will read that headline, well, you can't have pringles anymore because I'm going to go fine. You know what was so good as a kid was white bread. And it was super cheap. and then that's why we would buy a lot of white bread.
Starting point is 02:09:22 But white bread was, like, you would just take the crust off and make like a white bread donut? Would you ever do that? Tell us more, no. What's the donut? You just make a hole in the middle? What do you mean? You smush it together? I don't know what you're...
Starting point is 02:09:32 And you fry it? No. You just rolled up in a ball. You just take it and you take the crust off and you smash it all together. Oh, like a donut hole? No, well, then you can make a hole in if you want to fake it's a donut. We didn't have a whole lot of money. I'm really trying to understand this donut thing.
Starting point is 02:09:45 It just looks like a white donut. Okay. But white bread was so good. Yeah. Did you put anything on it? You just ate it. Sometimes you just ate it. That's a yummy donut.
Starting point is 02:09:55 We had to eat her, okay? We had to do things. We had to do things with our minds and make a scene. I didn't know if you sprinkled some cinnamon on top or something. Who has cinnamon? When you're broke, you ain't buying cinnamon in the store. It's on the grocery list. No.
Starting point is 02:10:07 Cinnamon. Mustard. Crazy. I give you one more. Hundreds flee the Newark Airport Terminal. Chaos erupted. Because an Alaska Airlines' gate agent became so concerned about two passengers and started shouting to everyone to evacuate.
Starting point is 02:10:22 200 travelers left their bags and ran out of the terminal. By the way, I'm probably to grab my bag. I'm just letting you know about me. I'm probably grabbing my bag. According, and you shouldn't by the way. Save yourself. Just go. But for me, I'm probably going to go to bag.
Starting point is 02:10:37 According to police, the gate agent approached two men who ran away from her. Okay, so she goes up or he, I don't know if the guy or girl, walks up and they ran away. She became concerned and started shouting, evacuate, evacuate, evacuate. wait, it's unclear why the two men ran away from the gate. But all they know is that she went up to them and they took off running. So she's like, okay, something fishy is going on air. Everybody needs to run. So the airline is
Starting point is 02:10:59 apologizing. It was a false alarm. Well, why did they run? That's a weird thing, but it's not against the law to run. Right. Sometimes when people come and ask me a question, I just run to see what they do with their face. Collie. I need to know more. I need to talk to them. Passengers who left the terminal
Starting point is 02:11:17 were rescreened and allowed to return to the gate. and the police were there at the airport, so it was pretty quick. Hopefully to get their luggage. Hopefully, yeah. The Bobby Boneshow. Tracy Morgan went to a restaurant. You know Tracy Morgan.
Starting point is 02:11:28 Yeah. I'm going to get you pregnant. That was good, definitely. That was real good. Tracy Morgan paid a restaurant employee to watch his new Bugatti while he ate. He gave the off-of-duty bartender $100. And then left a generous tip on top of that.
Starting point is 02:11:41 How awesome of that be you getting off work? It's like, I'm going to need you to watch my car. And then gives you 100 and then probably hit you another 50 on the way out. Nice. Just sit there and watch it. A Bugatti. It's a $2 million car. You should have somebody watching that.
Starting point is 02:11:55 You should have a car trailing you the whole time. Like a all the time watcher. Like bumpers. $2 million? Where do you even put that? I don't know. And have two buddies drive up in both door cars beside you to make sure nobody parks beside you.
Starting point is 02:12:06 Protection. I mean, he's got a lot of money from that wreck that almost killed him. Oh, yeah. That was so horrible. Kevin Hart was in a wreck. Tore's back up completely. He's going to be okay, right, Mike? Yeah.
Starting point is 02:12:17 But yeah, Tracy Morgan paid someone $100. there. We're going to wrap it up. Amy, what's going on today? Oh, what is going on today? I feel like yesterday was such a busy day. Did you notice my hair? Oh, I mean, yeah, we have to talk about it. When you left the room, we were like, oh, yeah. You went the whole show and didn't say anything. It's more, it's lighter. It's it. So I feel like I have a workout today and then I've, like, oh, I have some people coming over to my house tonight for like a meeting and that'll be fun. About what? I didn't get invited. You didn't. I know. You can come. Come. Do you want to?
Starting point is 02:12:50 Is it about minstrel stuff? Yes, your favorite topic. I'm out. I'm out. No. What do you have? What's your meeting? Oh, well, Elizabeth Fosio, she's in town, so she's going to come over.
Starting point is 02:13:01 I guess she took the last, she was here last week. She took the guys out to lunch or lunchbox or somebody. I guess just hanging out. Nobody takes me anywhere. Yeah, I didn't take me either. I don't know. Y'all didn't? Nope.
