I was listening to Scott and McCurry talk about his wife getting on to him because the two things that she's annoyed with him for are leaving the cap off the toothpaste and leaving the toilet seat up. For me, I'm good on those, but I just, we just constantly are having a hot air, cold air thing. Like I need it to be freezing. And to me, it's not freezing, it's normal.

But she's just constantly just cold, cold, cold. And if it's normal, for me, I need, I like 68, 60, 6. 69. You do. I mean, this studio is 65. Yep, and we hate it. So cool. All of us. Everyone. I start to realize it's not her.

Because everywhere I go, people are upset at me for the temperature. I think it could just be you, man. You like it really cold. I like it cold because I got to be quick. I got to think. You got to be sharp when you're cold. Because when I'm hot, I'm like this. So that's what we kind of argue about. If we argue, but there's a whole story about thermostat wars. But I think the reason it was a great birthday is because I didn't put a lot of expectation into it. Amy had a quarantine birthday. This is going to happen, especially if your husband is in the military. So there's going to be,

I think, a handful of special occasions that you're going to have to go through alone. But it doesn't mean you can't make them special and memorable. I mean, I guess technically you could, but Starbucks says that they're aiming to

shift their coffee shops and focus more on. mobile ordering and takeout only. They're going to be closing 400 stores and opening up more of like grab and go locations with drive-through options. So they're encouraging people to get your coffee and go somewhere else. Don't linger here. Well, the one near my house, people are still chilling. Yeah, there's a lot of chillers in there.

You know, it reminds me of Pizza Hut. I love Pizza Hut. But there aren't many Pizza Hut you can go into anymore. And you used to be able to. Used to be. I live there. Salad bars. I would salad bar hard.

At salad bar, we get our pizza. Getting a booth. And there are still a few. There are still some. You know, I'm from very rural America. And I think there are still some there because the same owners have them. But not as many anymore. When there's a new one that goes up, it's one of those little poppers.

Yeah. What else you got, Amy? So I have the top lifestyle changes that people make when they become parents. And then I really feel like this story stood out to me about. because I feel like you and Caitlin are progressing. I don't know exactly what's going to happen in your relationship. We have two kids now. It's happened so quickly.

Yeah, it was a whole. No, but it's probably in the next year or two. I don't know. Oh, yeah. We're not even, we're... I know, but there's like a few steps before that. I know. I'm still a virgin.

Well, this is what you have to look forward to changing your eyes. I haven't got a smile at a rabbi saying that. He doesn't smile at anything ever. Go ahead. Well, first of all, once you become a... parent, you cut out irresponsible friends. Okay, I've already done that anyway. Oh, okay.

Or I've changed my irresponsible friends to being responsible. Look at you. Eddie's as responsible as it gets. He shows up on time. It's a great example. And I used to be very irresponsible, even though I've had kids for 12 years. Okay. They started saving to buy a house.

Okay. That happens. Get a more steady job once you got kids. Make an actual serious effort to save money and then stopped going out late. Yeah, a lot of that. That just sounds like being an adult. I've been like 16. I had to grow up early, but yeah, yeah.

All right, is that it? Yeah, I made me thoughts on my pile. That was Amy's pile of stories. It's time for the good news. With Bobby. Tell me something good. You know what's odd is carbon monoxide poisoning? Because people don't really, you don't see it.

Yeah, no, yeah. It just happens. I've thought of that often because I have a gas stove. And sometimes I have to tell my kids, do not ever turn this knob, ever. Yeah, right? Because you won't know until you get sick. And that's what the story is. He just won't wake up. A mom and her three kids are lucky to be alive and can thank their teenage brother for saving them from a carbon monoxide leak. He's 14. He got to his sister's house before school. He found her and her kids were all really sick. And he's like, well, this is weird. So he calls 911. His sister was so ill that she couldn't move her children. So he grabs him, once three, once five, one's 11. He gets them all out of the house. And the ambulance gets there and it's like, oh, he's a hero. Like they were so close. to really being caught by carbon monoxide,

because they already had it and were poisoned. But in the fact that apparently it was a faulty heater because you mentioned your stove. Uh-huh. Yeah, wow. I don't even have carbon monoxide things in my house. I always felt like that was a... You don't have a gas stove? No. I'm talking about like sensors.

Oh, okay. I thought you meant like anything in your house that could leak anything. Oh, I'll probably have lots of that. I probably got asbestos, carbon monoxide. I'm probably good. All caught up on that. Lead. Yeah, just eating it up.

I kind of never get too high, never get too low for the most part. And most of my breakups have been like, well, just logically looking at our relationship, I can't see how this is going to be long term.

Now, the one I'm in now, that is not the case. The ones that I've been in and we've broken it off, it's always been pretty good. It's never fun, but we've all remained cool afterward, and if they ever need it alone or their tire fix, I'd be right there. No bad blood anywhere. You ever have a crazy breakup or you're just like upset? devastated and bawling and can't eat and don't want to leave my house for days yeah more than one yeah explain to me how that works so you break up it sucks what do you mean what do you mean i'm

jealous how i'm like super my heart was totally broken like i'm jealous because i think if you can't feel the lows you can't feel the highs right agree so that's why i'm jealous is is you break up and then what happens to your body are you i've never lost my appetite because of an emotion in my life Have you ever go not eating? One time I spent a lot of time just in the shower on the floor of the shower with the water running over me. You sat in the shower? And I would spend a lot of time there. I would get out and then I'd go get back in.

And I would play a great day to be alive. Try a shit, yeah. To remind myself that it's a great day. But now I hear that song. It's one of my favorite songs. But I instantly go back to the shower on the floor. But yeah, that's one example. When you check out of a devastation like that, because I have a story I'm going to read you.

But is it a gradual climb out or do you just go, okay, not devastated anymore, Pilgrim? No, it's gradual. Oh, it is? And then the one after that was really, really hard. I think it took me a very, very, very long time. I cried a lot. And then months had passed, like months. And then I ran into him and I cried again in front of him.

You know, like that kind of stuff. It was bad. Well, the story says never break up with someone on an airplane. Oh, well, yeah. An airline passenger has been detained after attempting to smash a plane window at 30,000 feet after she got dumped. Oh, I never wanted to smash anything. The 29-year-old woman had been drinking heavily due to her boyfriend breaking up with her. Footage shows the flight attendants trying to comfort the crying woman who suddenly started hitting the cabin window until it cracked at 30,000 feet.

Oh, my goodness. The plane had to make an emergency landing. By the way, if I'm Googling, because we would all Google, we still will. If we're dating somebody, we Google them. They've been on the local news, right? If I Google and I'm dating this girl later on, and I see that she got so upset, she cracked a plane window. That's probably a red flag to not hop in. Would it be for you?

Yes. So she could go to jail because you can't break a window. We can't get emotional and break a window in an airplane. If you would have been in an airplane suffering how you were starting. Do you think you to try to bust the window? No. I never was trying to, no, I just was suffering from a broken heart. Yeah.

I wasn't like angry or mad or wanting to punch things. There was no rage, but there was just sadness. Yeah. Sucks. I'm jealous. I know. Yeah, not because of the sadness, but because too hot, you know, can't experience low, can't spread a lot.

Right. I can appreciate that. I know that my joys can be really amazing because I also know my pains. Where does he learn? Oh, Mom, I'd rather not. That's embarrassing. I was depressed. And learned it from me. I don't know why you're looking at me. Dang. I don't know where he's picking up.

He's also... Maybe his older sister? She's never wanted to really hold my hand. Actually, though, you know what's funny about siblings? Is she was with me. And again, I don't ever... expect her to hold her hand, but she wants to get under his skin so bad that the minute he says that, she goes, Mom, I'll hold your hand. And she, I just remember that part of the story. Like,

she held my hand, but I was just more devastated by the fact that he didn't want to. But, and I would think that it's special. She wouldn't hold mine, but I knew she was just doing it because suddenly he didn't want to. That's how kids work. So he also said something the other day, and I thought, where did you learn that? I think I asked him something. And his response was, am I supposed to know? And I was like, I know you're getting good at English, but what? Where? That's not an answer to me. That's unacceptable answer. You don't ever respond to anybody with, how am I supposed to know? What did you tell him about the hand holding? Well, I mean, I can't force him to hold my hand, but I just said, oh, well, I didn't know I was such an

embarrassment to you. Eddie, your oldest son, is he embarrassed of you? Big time. Like, he's 12? He's 12, and I love putting my arms around him you know like come over here, little guy, whatever. Cannot do that anymore. He does a little move where he just ducks his head under and he's out. He won't do it or he gets my hand says, don't do that. And it's only in public.

In the house, like, whatever. He's like, yeah, what up, dad? Well, hang. The little ones, I mean, I can totally do, I mean, they're cool with everything right now, but I know that time's coming. At what age did your oldest go? I don't want to be all handsy in public.

I would say maybe three years ago, two years ago, I think just school. Something about school, whenever we're at school, I would go to the school to go, you know, eat lunch with him, whatever and be like, hey, I'd sneak up behind him, put my arm around it. He's like, nope, uh-uh, not here. You're not doing that. What advice do you give Amy? Just deal with it. It just happens. It happens, Amy. It's so sad.

Deal with it. All right. That's another parenting advice segment. It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. So there's this nurse that noticed a baby at the hospital that didn't get any visitors for five months. The baby was there being treated for neonatal abstinence syndrome. It's a result of her mom using drugs during the pregnancy. Social services was trying to place the baby.

Her name was Giselle. They were trying to put her in foster care. But it hadn't worked out yet. And she's got all these health challenges. Well, the nurse just decided, you know what? I think I'm going to adopt this baby. Wow. So she took it upon herself to like do what she needed to do.

And now she's the mom of baby Jazeel. Yeah, the parents had their rights terminated. No other family members were found. And it's official. Her name is Liz Smith. So shout out Nurse Liz for paying attention to this baby. Wow, what a story. That was Tell Me Something Good.

expired or something. I buy most of my milk from the gas station. Oh, my gosh. I do most of them. When I go grocery shopping, Caitlin does most of the, stuff and now she orders it on an app. I go and I go to the gas. I have to pick something like that. Gas station. I'm not going to go. I don't want to park

and walk all through the grocery store. I get it. I get it. I get it. I can park and walk to get it back out. Just like that. And it's what convenient? Yeah. So here's the thing. Me at a grocery store. Got to find a place to park. Got to walk, walk, walk. Got to go in. Got to get a walk. That's it. Done. Amy, go ahead. Like a tuna sandwich or something?

Oh, the sandwiches like the come in the little. Yeah. Eddie? My mom's milk. I'm telling you the last time bones, I got milk at a convenience store. I mean, it was not. Did you check the expiration date? No, I just took a sip and I'm like, oh.

What did you want to be as a kid but seems really stupid right now? I go first. Radio TV. No job security here. Amy? I mean, it's stupid because there's no way I would have made it through the school for it. But a veterinarian, that's what I wanted to be. Eddie?

I wanted to be a, like, chemistry guy. Just because I like the whole... What do you mean a chemistry guy? What does that mean? Someone that just mixed stuff in tubes and made things blow up. I had no idea what chemistry was, but it looked cool when I saw it on TV. What did a teacher do at your school with no backlash that you can't believe they got away with? Add a teacher once.

Who we all knew this teacher was making out with students. What? And nobody didn't think about it. In high school or college? High school. High school. High school and this teacher was young for a high school teacher. and it was like 17 to 18 year olds,

but still if you're 17, 18 in high school and they're 23, 24, you still can't do that. And nobody really cared because it wasn't 12, which was weird. You? Yeah, I don't know that I can think of anything

a teacher did. Oh, yeah. I had a teacher in high school. Senior year, we would party at her house. Like me and like five dudes. Really? Like party or party? Oh.

Just part, no, like we would just drink. And she would make his drinks? Well, is this weird? In third grade, one of my teachers, if you got good enough behavior and good enough grade, you got to spend the night at our house. I never got to, but other people did.

I don't think that's weird. It would be weird now. I don't even know that it would be weird now, but we would say you can't do it now. Or if it was a guy teacher with girls, it would be weird. But she was cool. I know she meant well, but it just different times. What's something you would love to do but can't justify the cost?

Love to do, love to buy. I'll go first. Oh, yeah. I was going to buy these shoes. They retail for about $100. or the Ben and Jerry, the dunks, they're the Nike dunks. It's like ice cream off. But right now, if you go and buy them off a website, they're $2,200.

Oh, yeah. I'd buy them for retail. There is zero, but I can't justify the cost. It's still not as crazy is where my brain went for just buying the cost. Well, my husband loves to fly airplanes, so I've always wanted to buy a plane. But I can't justify the cost. Yeah, it's a little ridiculous. But to be fair, your husband was in the Air Force for a long time.

He does, he's not like a guy who just likes to fly. No, but I mean, I wish, yeah, there's a lot of pilots, especially Air Force ones. Like, they get together. Sometimes they can get a plane, like, but there's like 10 people and that, but we just, yeah, we don't have that. Eddie? I want a boat, man. Yeah? Like, I want a boat really bad, but I can't, I can't do that.

And I was on the lake, too, like, you know. I go shoes and Amy goes airplane. It's like, Eddie's right in the middle. Yeah. Like, that's a normal. Well, I was just, I went extreme, of course. Maybe it's like a castle. A castle in Ireland.

No, that's something. I guess I was just looking at the question a little differently. What would you need to get a boat? What do you mean? What do I need? Like what would happen in your life so you could get a boat? My kids would have to stop taking money from me. Is that going to happen?

Like when they leave at the house? I don't know when that's going to be. But boats are just such a, aren't they just a money pit? That's what they say. What, bring another thousand, B-O-A-T? They say the best two days of owning a boat or when you buy and when you sell it. They say a lot of things, suppose. All right.

I think some of it is hormones mixed with not knowing how to handle some stuff that's going on. Like new hormones? Oh, yeah. I'm almost 40. I have stuff hormones, stuff changing in my body.

That's weird. So I think some of it is hormonal, but it is. a combination of me not processing some of my emotions properly. Hmm. So do you have a new... Or my stress. Do you have a newfound empathy for people that do things in rage now? Hmm.

Interesting. Because I wouldn't want to use... Well, it depends on what their rage causes them to do, because I... I don't ever want to hurt anybody. So, no, I don't have... for somebody that uses their rage in that way. But yeah, if they want to throw a water bottle across the room. Like smash a car.

No, I don't want to hurt anybody. I mean, I guess they could smash it as long as nobody gets hurt. Their own car. You're like, oh, I get it. No, I don't think I have the, I don't want to smash my car. The only thing I'm telling you I want to do or that I have done is throw a water bottle. I want to throw the fruit bowl, slam stuff, slam the milk down on the. the counter like really hard and yell. And what is your therapist? Because you're going to

therapist, right? Yeah. What do they say? Well, she thinks some, well, and then sometimes I just can't let it go. So I picture myself doing the action and then I'm like, oh, it feels so good. But I don't. I have control. So I don't do it. Again, nobody would be harmed. But I still resist the action because I don't feel like it's right anyways. Like I need to get control. And so, but then I have trouble letting it go and I'm still stressed and worked up and feeling anxious and having all these different feelings so she has told me when I need to reset like that I'm I may need to dunk my face in ice water have you tried that yet no I haven't yet it's just but it's part of my assignment you ever get rage at me no no if I see you over there in your heads in a bucket of water I'm like

oh boy she needs a minute no but I promise you if you were to see it you would think because I even think, I'm not joking. I think, who am I right now? You would be wondering who is this person? Well, sometimes since you said, do you have rage now that comes, I sit next to you and wonder oh boy.

It's not like that. Is this how it is? You just start stabbing you with a pin. No, no, I don't ever stop. Don't put me in that category. I don't ever want to hurt anybody. I just have an extreme desire to crush a ball and then throw it against the wall. smash. My husband and I were having an argument one day and that's when I threw the water bottle.

At him? And it was awesome. No, I threw it across the room. All right. If you ever get rage filled in here, just wiggle your ear and I'll just shut it down. It doesn't. I don't, I can't predict it. I've been looking for three days for those. All right. So Lunchbox went out to the park to ask random people this question. So people are walking around. Basically, here harass people who were trying to get their day of fresh air, but he asked them couples that blank together stay together.

What is it about to communicate? I don't know, man. You got to make sure that, even if they're different, you've got to make sure you're sharing your hopes and your dreams and your life together, you know? Totally understand. What I mean? Together. Okay. Communication, working together and encouragement. Encouragement. Okay, what about encouragement? You know, you gotta, so if they have goals that aren't necessarily yours, you can't. And if they're doing better than you, you gotta, you gotta, you gotta, you gotta,

You want them always to be better than you. And then you want them to tell you to be better than them. I'm just struck by all the things happening in the background. Where are you? What is that? What is that music? What is that music? What is that music?

They were two skateboarders and they had a little music player and they were just hanging out. They were standing around. They weren't skating at that point. Did people think it was weird that you were coming up to them? Yes. In a time of social distancing? I mean, I was six feet away. I kind of, hey, and I'd hold it.

the phone out to record them. But yeah, they kind of looked at me a little weird. Like, I stopped that one guy. The first guy, he was running. I waved at him and flagged him down. Tell me something good. The owner of us 7-Eleven in Toledo, Ohio took a slightly different approach to dealing with a shoplifter. Jay Singh watched on surveillance as a teenager pushed up in his pockets. He then went up to teen and was like, hey man, why are you stealing? So the boy said this, I'm stealing for myself. I'm hungry. I'm also doing it from my younger brother. And it really wasn't what he expected when he confronted the kid. Either you think the kid runs or maybe fights back or something. Yeah. And so he said, hey, I'm not going to press charges.

And he said, hey, take this, take some other pizzas, give him some sandwiches. He said, you're not going to be charged. And this is from the owner of the 7-Eleven. It's not going to make any difference to me if I give him some food, because we make a lot of food, we sell a lot of food. If he goes to jail, he's definitely not going to be able to do anything good in life, and that's why I decided to help him. Oh, I love that. So I thought that was a good story.
