Starting point is 00:03:57 The Bobby Bones post show pre-show. We've been neglecting this. I mean, not on purpose, but it's just we do the show and I got to go to dance practice. So I just ask for your forgiveness that we don't get the podcast of every day. We do the show and then sometimes I'm in California
Starting point is 00:04:12 and they don't like us in that studio longer because like eight shows need it. So we haven't forgot about this part of it, but I just want to acknowledge that we're acknowledging that we suck. Is that good? That's fair enough. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:23 All right. And that's it. You're forgiven. That's it. Amy, anything you want to say to everybody? I just hope everybody has a great day. It's Joy Week. Which, by the way, we really can't play the music from Joy Week, which stinks.
Starting point is 00:04:35 Oh, no. You have to listen live. John Party was today, and let me tell you, it was the greatest live performance ever heard in my life. Ooh. I know. Amy, want you to have a good day. Lunchbox, want you listen to Soar Losers podcast. And I'm going to say, away we go, because I got to go.
Starting point is 00:04:46 All right. And away we go. Here's show. The Bobby Bones Show. Folks, it's your buddy and mine. The five and bones. Welcome, welcome, welcome, everybody. Another week.
Starting point is 00:05:08 I'm super excited about this week. Let me say good morning to all my friends here in the studio. Good morning, studio. Morning. Amies to my left, lunchboxes to my right. I kind of like Monday. I think I like Mondays better than any day but Friday. Don't like Tuesdays.
Starting point is 00:05:22 You're right in the middle of it. Wednesday, you're right in the middle of it. Thursday, you're right in the middle of it. But Monday's new fresh. Friday it's ending. I see that. Have dancing with stars tonight? Joy Week today.
Starting point is 00:05:34 You're just not live. Pretty solid. Yeah. So, are you good? Yeah, I'm doing good. Yeah, today's the first day of Joy Week. Whoop. John Party will come in and perform live for an hour, him and his full band.
Starting point is 00:05:45 And I think he's going to do, did some time he's doing it, a Ruth Franklin song? Is that the rumor, the John Party rumor? So it should be good. I love a good John Party rumor. Let's go over and talk to Holly. Hi, Holly in Nashville. Hey. What's happening?
Starting point is 00:06:01 Oh, nothing much. I'm just going to call and just see how everything's going and ask about since you started dancing, what's been your most memorable moment? Hmm. My favorite moment on dancing with the stars. Well, first of all, when you go into that room and you actually see, probably walking into that room the first time ever, because I'd never seen the stage until the day of the show. And walking, it's like, whoa, Amy saw it. You sat in there. It's crazy, huh?
Starting point is 00:06:27 Yeah. It makes it real. You're like, what? This is crazy. Before the song starts, it, the most terrible. The terrifying moment and still the realest moment is you're on stage and there's a timer going, and it's like 18 seconds, 13 seconds. And you see you're about to start dancing because as soon as that timer stops, what you don't hear on TV is what's called a click track.
Starting point is 00:06:46 And it goes, four beats and your song starts. When that click track hits, your guts jump. And you're like, oh my goodness, oh, my goodness. And it's this skydiving-like feeling. You might die. You might land and maybe awesome on the other side, but you just got to jump. and you hope that all the work you put in all week, all the tiny moves, and you're with a professional,
Starting point is 00:07:07 and you don't want to let them down. But it really makes you feel like, oh, this is a real life, like, experience. That's cool. When that click track hits, it's an awful and awesome feeling at the same time because you're just like, oh, here goes nothing. You got one shot.
Starting point is 00:07:23 You've been working all week for it. I try to put myself in the best spot for the show, for anything. But then once it's time to go, you do your best effort, the end you look at it and go well did I work hard enough you know considering um but probably that click track because it's awful and awesome and that's what life is it's a mixture of awesome things and terrible things and everything in the middle and really trying to find the good out of it when it's while it's happening when it's over yeah so i think that's my metaphor there that's good i like that
Starting point is 00:07:52 that click that click that goes and then right then the music starts and it's got to be a real thing for all of you you're not the only dancer that referenced that click track on the first night. I think that, because a couple of the other dancers mentioned it. And so it's got it's like a legit real thing that freaks y'all out. It freaks us out. It's like if you're an astronaut and they're like, seven. Yeah. Six. You're like, oh my goodness. It's only three. I mean, the people are awesome. Like, there's some good folks that are, listen. No, you're walking away. You're going to walk away no matter what with the cool experience. Yeah. Like DeMarcus, the football player? That's like my friend over there. We text all the time because we're both, he's a
Starting point is 00:08:32 better dancer than I am, more of an athlete. Does he still play football? No. Oh, okay. He's a, tired? Yeah, recently. But one of the greatest of our lifetime defensively. Would you guys agree with that lunchbox? Yes. Absolutely. I mean, at super early and the nicest, he picked me above his head. I saw that. He's that picture where he, yeah. He just, he's like six, six, five, six six six, six, six, he just took me and lifted me above his head. Were his arm shaking when he was out there? No, no, he was going to start pumping me, like, up and down. No way. Yeah, but I was a little too long, so I'm six foot tall. He just, he was. He was a little too long. He
Starting point is 00:09:02 He was like, I was going to start pumping you because I can take, you know, that weight and just shove it up. It's on my Instagram. It's crazy. What do you weigh now? I'm a little light right now. Well, yeah, I know. I didn't know if you, you know. I've been, but I've been, when I eat, I just gorge myself.
Starting point is 00:09:16 But I don't know. My healthiest, I'm about 160. I'm probably 150 right now. 149, 150 around in there. My waist is down like a 30, 1.30. I'm so small. I know. I've been lifted weight in a month.
Starting point is 00:09:28 But anyway, let's get going here to the show. It's joy week. Appreciate your call. Thank you, Holly, for that question, and thanks for hanging out. The Lobby Bowles Show. Big three stories. The age producer, Ramundo, in UFC news, Connor McGregor lost. There also was a brawl after the fight ended.
Starting point is 00:09:43 Kabeve and McGregor are most likely going to have a rematch next year. In other news, Tropical Storm Michael is predicted to become a category two hurricane. It's headed for the Gulf Coast. Watch out Florida. And finally, tonight, Bones is on Dancing with the Stars again on ABC. Make sure you vote. Call 1-800-868-38-3-302. Vote for Bones
Starting point is 00:10:03 The Bobby Bones show People love it When we talk about Disney movies I had no idea They were so loved We've been talking about it for a week or so Because I hadn't seen really anything But Coco and that was recently
Starting point is 00:10:15 As a kid I just didn't watch movies We didn't have a VCR There was no DVD player So you kind of just watch what was on TV Sometimes we didn't name of cable But here's some Disney movie songs Ready? See if you can name the movie
Starting point is 00:10:27 I think most of these I could get Anyway just from pop culture Yeah Like whenever we were playing the song last week, the snow white one. And I knew Aladdin from all the covers on YouTube. Okay, ready, hey? Ready. Name the Disney movie.
Starting point is 00:10:48 Saladalajadul, a metricaboola, biblitaboo. Put it together and what if you got, bibbitty bambitie bobitie boob. See, I know this bippity boppity boob. But what movie is that? Yeah, I know this song too. Give it will do magic, believe it or not. Bipiti Bopety booboo. Now, sarah good to me.
Starting point is 00:11:09 But I can't name the movie. No? No. Cinderella. Okay. Yeah. Shoot. That came to my brain.
Starting point is 00:11:16 What's Cinderella about? Girl, the slipper? Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But that might be when they're, like, making her dress or something? She's the fairy godmother with a wand. Yes, okay, you're right. Here's the one.
Starting point is 00:11:27 Remember me. I'm going to cry right now. Coco. Coco. No, I have to say goodbye. Remember. me listen to the vulnerability let it make you cry
Starting point is 00:11:40 for even if I'm far away come on it's so good and Eddie was our video producer who's Mexican dude who's like gotta watch it because it's a story of my life but I was like it's not Eddie Eddie because he has an abuelo
Starting point is 00:11:57 that's my point he has an abuelo abuelita okay so do I but it's English like he's got brown skin I thought because Eddie was like story of my life it was really going to be only something that Hispanics or Mexicans would understand. And I was like, no, this is... No. It's perfect.
Starting point is 00:12:12 Okay, here you go. Look for the bare necessities, the simple bare necessities. Forget about worries and your strides. Yes. Come on. I mean the bare necessities are mother. What did I think of this? Wherever I want.
Starting point is 00:12:34 I don't know. I have a break. Yeah. That's a good one. These are easy. I'll give you a couple more here. Well, not that easy. I'm not getting them.
Starting point is 00:12:41 I think I would have got all those, though, without seeing the movies. Wow. Okay. But you see so many of them because of your kids and I think they may get jumbled up. Actually, they've never, I don't know that they've ever seen Jungle Book, which now I need to maybe introduce them to that. Yeah, that's old school. That's like Looney Tune-style cartoon. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:54 Be our guest. Be our guest. Put our service to the test. Tie your napkin round your neck, sherry, and we'll provide the rest. Is this Little Marade? Beauty and the Beast. I thought that was the lobster. Sebastian.
Starting point is 00:13:13 Acuna Matata. It means no worries. What a wonderful phrase. Acuna Matata. What's you got in? Ain't no pears and craze. It means no worries for the rest of your days. It's our problem free.
Starting point is 00:13:31 Okay. Philosophy. Lion King. Lion King. Hacuna Matata? Yeah, it's our motto. But you knew this and you didn't see the movie? Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:13:43 Wow. I know Hakuna Matata. Weird. That's crazy. Yeah, man, you too. It wasn't even a hit. Yeah, kind of. Was it really?
Starting point is 00:13:49 Yeah. I feel like if you really get into these movies after Little Mermaid, you should give Lion King a shot. Maybe I should just have kids. Oh, they were. That's an idea. It escalates super quick. It goes from much. You want Disney movies to say, I need children, guys.
Starting point is 00:14:03 Amy, how long have you and I have been friends? Friends? Like, I don't know, 13, 14 years? Long time. Amy's my dearest friend. And we've grown a lot together. She got married, she had kids. She has two kids now, 11 and 8.
Starting point is 00:14:20 And it took her five years to get her kids from the orphanage in Haiti to America. And what's been cool is to watch these kids kind of become American and see the things that we do. And we take for granted and we don't understand how weird it is until you get a new set of eyeballs on it. And then one of those things is like a valet because what happens is you drive your car up and you just give it to somebody and they drive away in your car. And if you don't know any better, you may think they're still in your car, right, Amy? Yeah. Well, our kids had never done a valet before, but we were going to an event as a family and the event had valet. So we rolled up, my husband and I got out of the car, no problem.
Starting point is 00:14:59 The kids got out and they're like, okay, I guess we're parking here. and then the valet hops in the car and speeds away and our son's like mom mom that guy's driving off in our car I mean he like did not understand even our daughter was like what is happening where's our car going why does nobody care they just didn't understand the concept of ballet and we had never been in a scenario to explain it to them
Starting point is 00:15:23 so they were very confused it's funny too the lunchbox didn't valet until a few years ago he was like what is happening with this Oh, man, I was so scared to valet, and I didn't understand you could pay when you left. So I drove around for 30 minutes looking for a parking spot because I didn't have any money to pay the valet. I was calling them going, guys, I'm going to be late. I can't valet. I don't have any money.
Starting point is 00:15:44 That was the first time I'd ever valet in my life. It was such a weird concept that you just pull up and they take your car for you and find a parking spot. Like, it's just so weird to me. Well, they don't really find a parking spot. They've already paid for parking, and they pull it into one of the spots or a garage. they've already paid for. Oh, so they pay... They've already paid for somewhere?
Starting point is 00:16:07 Yeah, they already have spots ready. They don't just take your car and go searching around town for a spot. I didn't know that. Yeah, which is why it costs a little extra, too, because they have prepared spots ready to go. Okay. See, that, you are teaching... I thought they literally went and found somewhere to park my car for me, and that's why you tip them is because they found a spot for you.
Starting point is 00:16:27 Do what if they couldn't find a spot? They just drive around and burn your gas. or it's far away and they have to, where we used to live, like homeless guys would stand in open spots on the side of the road. Yes. And you couldn't get in them
Starting point is 00:16:40 unless you gave them money. Right, and they would point you in and then once you pull in, they'd expect money and it's like, well, what did you do for me? No, they held the spot. They put the flag in there. There we go.
Starting point is 00:16:50 The latest from that. It's skinny. Cole Swindell created a peppermint moonshine just in time for the holidays. It's available online starting October 15. peppermint moonshine. Talk to me about moonshine for a second lunchbox. Oh, man, that'll put some hair on your chest.
Starting point is 00:17:07 But it seems like everybody's making it now that it's probably not that hardcore. Like moonshine would be back in the day. You go and make it secretly. It'd be super hardcore. Now it seems like you're walking to Walgreens and there's moonshine. Is that even moonshine? Yeah, I guess it's sort of the draw of it is the name. I guess now that it's more legal, it's not as strong.
Starting point is 00:17:27 But it goes back to the roots like, ooh, I'm drinking moonshine. I'm crazy. How about peppermint moonshine? Does it sound good? Yeah, that sounds good. Flavored moonshine can be real good. Like, apple moonshine, apple pie moonshine. Woo, I got a guy in Austin.
Starting point is 00:17:40 You got a guy. He's the moonshine guy. And he gave me a bottle of apple pie moonshine. Best stuff I've ever had in my life. Morgan, number two, what else? Lauren Elena released her new single, Ladies in the 90s. She says it's her favorite song she's ever released. Here's a clip of it.
Starting point is 00:18:02 It's funny. Her and Walker Wides both have songs that are very, very, very similar. And they didn't write them knowing about it. Because Walker's this is called, 90s country. And Lauren Elena's ladies in the 90s and they both just
Starting point is 00:18:12 name check all the 90s stuff and they both have to secretly be like going oh, come on. Like they both pick a really novel approach at a song and it comes out at the same time.
Starting point is 00:18:20 For real. I know, right? What else Morgan number two? Jason Aldeen held his concert for the cure at his bar in Nashville this year and handed over a $459,000
Starting point is 00:18:30 check to Susan G. G. Komen of Tennessee. There you go. Good for that dude. All right. Is that it in Morgan number two? Yep. I'm Morgan number two.
Starting point is 00:18:36 That's the skinny. It's time for the good news. with lunchbox Say I'll make something good. New Beginnings Animal Rescue took in a little kitten named Hazel, meow, meow, and they found out Hazel had a heart murmur and needed an open heart surgery and it was going to cost $5,000. So they put a note up on their Facebook page and the donations come pouring in from the
Starting point is 00:18:59 community and they raised $5,000 so little Hazel meow, meow, meow, can have her heart fixed. It's been a minute since he's made sound effects. Yeah, the sound effects sold it. And then also, hey, it would say heart fixed. Yeah. Like, he really used, he used tone and texture and sound effects. Like, that's a storyteller over there.
Starting point is 00:19:15 Mm-hmm. And the cat lived. Miao. Miao. Miao. His little heart got big. What happened to his heart lunchbox? His heart got fixed.
Starting point is 00:19:23 There is. Bobby Bones show. Bonehead. Norrie of the day. This story comes up to us from Salt Lake City, Utah. A dad thought it would be cool to teach his two-year-old son how to use the shredder. So teach him to shred paper. Oh, so cool.
Starting point is 00:19:38 Only problem is the kid. found the dad's emergency fund of $1,000 in cash, and stuck it in the shredder. No. That's just like, oh my gosh. There's nothing you can do. That's what a thousand dollar shredded looks like. Oh, my gosh. Okay, let's just back up.
Starting point is 00:19:58 He taught a two-year-old how you use a shredder. Well, yeah, I could see how that would be a good activity. Like, sometimes you're looking for ways to entertain your kids. And if you have to have things that need to be shredded, why not teach the two-year-old? Okay, let's take a half step forward How does a two-year-old get access to the Money Fund? He just found it.
Starting point is 00:20:15 Accident. I guess it was in the closet. Found it. And then does the kid get in trouble? No. Because I remember my dog would eat a pen or something, but I'd be like, you're a dog. It's a pen, and you didn't do it on purpose.
Starting point is 00:20:28 But, man, all that shredded money looks... That makes my stomach hurt. I'm Lunchbox. That's your bonehead story of the day. Folks, it's your buddy and my... Mr. Bobby Bowles. Joy Week. starts in an hour.
Starting point is 00:20:51 John Party comes in a place. It's all about just kind of acknowledging the reason that you feel good. The reason things are right. The reason you want to choose joy. There's so many ways that you can interpret what we call pimping joy. It could be toward other people. It could be within yourself that in the end influences other people. So John Party comes in and brings his joy in for an hour today.
Starting point is 00:21:16 I think Kelsey Ballerini is tomorrow. Amazing. Yeah, for an hour they're just going to play songs. And then our Pimp and Joy shirts, which we don't keep anymore. money from, which we're helping our service members when they come back get adjusted to life. Those shirts go up at 9 central today at bobby bones.com. So all that's happening. Glad that you're here.
Starting point is 00:21:33 Why don't we do now? Again, Amy versus Lunchbox. We're getting close to the end of the season, by the way. Okay. We're playing to 10, and Amy's up 8 to 6. Yeah. I'll ask Amy three questions that are normally meant for dudes. Lunchbox three questions that are normally meant for females.
Starting point is 00:21:50 And we'll see how we do. Amy, you're up first. What does UFC stand for? Un- Fight Club. Universal. United. Universal Fight Club. Universal Fight Club.
Starting point is 00:22:13 It is the fighting sport, but that's wrong. Lunchbox, you can steal. UFC. Ultimate Fighting Championship. Oh, dang it. That's so it. Lunchbox gets the point, gets this deal. Amy.
Starting point is 00:22:29 Yeah. Goodrich. Who? Goodrich. Dunlop. Continental. Our brands of what? Goodrich.
Starting point is 00:22:41 Dunlop. Continental. Tires. Tires. Tires. Show me tires. Tires. Tires.
Starting point is 00:22:52 Amy. Monday night footballs tonight at the Mercedes Ben's Superdome. Yeah. Who plays at home there? Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The Mercedes Mustings. The Mercedes-Benz Bengals. The, okay, where would Mercedes,
Starting point is 00:23:17 flashy, Florida? Incorrect. I don't even know. The New Orleans Saints. Correct. No, not of course. You went through everything except that. You can't go of course when you don't even get close to it.
Starting point is 00:23:30 Not, I meant, of course, he would get it. He has a sports show. That is true, he does. And you also have done podcasts about lots of things, too. Including sports. And you used to do the Sports Minute sometimes. That's true. Lunchbox, you ready for your three questions?
Starting point is 00:23:44 Oh, yeah, I'm ready. All right, here we go. What do you call part of the sewing machine on which the thread is wound? Spool? The spool. I don't know. Amy, you can steal. It's a tough one, though.
Starting point is 00:24:00 I mean, and I even sell. But what? The part of the neat, I don't know, the needle. Oh, it's called the bobbin. Oh, the bobbin. Okay, you're right. I knew that. Duh.
Starting point is 00:24:13 What score? The bobbin. Lunchbox, if you get this one right, you win. Okay. That's all I want to do. Just give it to me then. Okay. Which Real Housewives edition was the first to air?
Starting point is 00:24:25 Orange County. Wow. He's good. He knew that quick, too. Yeah, I used to watch that one. With a mighty force he laid that one out. Wow, and now it's 8 to 7. Lunchbox takes the win.
Starting point is 00:24:36 There he is. He was wagging his finger at Amy while he was doing that. So wait, he's 8 and I'm 7? No, you're 8 and I'm 7. Although both of you would say at times you act 5. Oh, don't. Thank you very much. Okay, so top of the hour next hour, John parties in as we start Joy Week.
Starting point is 00:25:09 It's all about being kind, choosing joy, laughing a lot, eat cake. Right, Aim? Yes. How did you do that? You remember that? Yeah. I care about you. I remember things about you.
Starting point is 00:25:20 That's good. Yeah, there you go. What was that? I don't get it. That's my Amy's four things. Four things. Yeah. Be kind, choose, joy, laugh a lot, eat cake.
Starting point is 00:25:28 And then all my friends are like, stop, you don't eat cake. I'm like, yeah, I do. Do you like it? I like it. And sometimes you just need a reminder to eat it. That's right. There you go. Bobby, boom.
Starting point is 00:25:37 Come on. Kaylee, what's going on? Hey, Bobby. You good? Yeah, I'm honestly shocked. I'm even talking to you. Oh, come on. Come on.
Starting point is 00:25:48 You call, answer, we talk, we're friends. What are you talking about? I know. It's just shocking to me. Like I said, I'm shaking right now. Oh, take a breath. Are you driving or are you just sitting? I'm just sitting.
Starting point is 00:26:00 Okay, good. Take a breath. Do it with me. There you go. All right. What do you want to say, Kaylee? I was going to say, I just wanted to thank you for making my morning. I had to get up like 5.30 every morning because I got to college.
Starting point is 00:26:14 So, and you're the, you're the way. only reason I want to get up early. Like, if I get up late, I'll have to miss the Bobby Bound show. Well, I think that's good, right? Like, we motivate you to get your day going. You can go and get more. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 00:26:28 Come on. Come on. Come on, come on, everybody. Come on. Well, anything you'd like to say, you have all of our listeners' attention right now, Kaylee. What do you want to say to the world? Put it out there.
Starting point is 00:26:38 Oh, jeez. I just want to thank you all. I love you, Bobby. I love your Amy. I love you lunchbox. I love every one of you. I don't think there's enough words to say how grateful I am. Well, thanks a lot.
Starting point is 00:26:50 There are a lot of new listeners right now listening because we have a lot of new people that are coming and they're new to the show. What would you tell them about our show? Like at first, when you heard us, you thought blank. The first I heard it, it's very real. It's not like some scripted thing that comes from a paper. It's something that's very raw, in my opinion. And at times can be a bit annoying, right? I think annoying is good sometimes.
Starting point is 00:27:15 You don't need all serious. Okay, okay, okay. And then what does the show end up turning into in your mind for the new listeners? Do they give us a shot for a little bit? Almost a sign of hope a little bit because sometimes I have those rough days. Like, I'll sound terrible, but I'll cry myself to sleep. But it's nice to know that there's people like me that, especially you, Bobby, I relate to you a lot. Well, thanks.
Starting point is 00:27:38 Well, come on. This is a great call. I love this. Well, thank you, Kaylee. I hope you have a wonderful day. And I appreciate you. you and give you that. Thanks for calling. And today actually starts Joy Week. So that's such a good call. Our Pimp and Joy shorts. Amy, just kind of tell people what Pimp and Joy is. Well, it all started in a nutshell when my mom had cancer.
Starting point is 00:27:59 And she had a motto, though. She was like, okay, I'm not going to let this get me down. I'm going to choose joy. And from that, she had a Twitter handle, Judy B. Pimp and Joy. And then from that, the hashtag Pimp and Joy was born. and it was just a way for us to connect with listeners, follow her story, but then use the hashtag to share with us how they were spreading joy. And then from that, we decided to do Pimp and Joy hats and T-shirts and do 100% of the proceeds to, at first, cancer-related events, we did St. Jude or cancer-related causes because my mom had cancer. And then it's since spread,
Starting point is 00:28:32 and we've been able to donate over $1.5 million, even since my mom passed away. And she would be freaking out knowing that something like this, started with her wanting to choose joy and not let cancer get her down. And ultimately, and that was her prayer. Like her third or fourth diagnosis, her prayer in the chapel at the hospital was, Lord, just use this cancer for good. And so for me personally, Pimpin' Joy is an answer to her prayer. And then Joy Week, the fact that we get to use that whole week to just spread joy with listeners is amazing.
Starting point is 00:29:08 And for me, it's seeing Amy's mom have this story of it, making it something to watch someone go, hey, I want this to be greater than me. That's what she said. She wanted this to be greater than her. And it's turned into our listeners helping listeners. We've had listeners out and go, hey, they see someone that needs car tires and they help them buy car tires. And all of a sudden, they were both listeners of the show.
Starting point is 00:29:28 Like, it's turned into a choose joy to help others, choose joy to help yourself. And it's just a reset. That's why it's called Joy Week. We start over and we go, hey, let's all take a second and appreciate what we have and appreciate what we can do and appreciate what people have done for us. And artists come in and share their music. And so John Party will be in just a little bit And he'll play for an hour
Starting point is 00:29:46 And we're so grateful to him Because he doesn't have to do that I have to wake up early in the morning And bring his band in here No way And music is joy And the whole thing is just It's a good, like I love that it's a re-
Starting point is 00:29:55 Every year we have the week to reset Yeah And write down Even like three things today That make you happy That'd be cool Just this week, just reset It won't last all year
Starting point is 00:30:05 Meaning you won't always everyday wake up And go like here's why I'm going to be joyful But it is good to reset And really be practical about You know why it's good Why, things are good. Because you can always find the bad. But man, find that good.
Starting point is 00:30:17 The Bobby Bone Show. I had my dinner party on Friday night, Amy. How'd it go? Good. They got the music up. Welcome people over to the house. There are only a handful of us, seven, eight of us. It was my...
Starting point is 00:30:34 So who all came? Well, my dance partner, Sharna, and my producer for Dancing with the Stars, came. And that's really why I was doing it, because they were in Nashville for a couple of days. He says, hey, just come over to the house, we'll have some dinner. And then Eddie, our video producer and his wife came over. Ray Mundo and his girlfriend came over, and I'd never use my kitchen table.
Starting point is 00:30:55 Is it a kitchen table? It's a dining table. Raymundo's laughing. Why are you laughing? Well, I mean, I always ate dinners growing up. It's a dining room. So I never ate in a dining room. I never had a dining room.
Starting point is 00:31:08 I didn't even eat in the kitchen table. I eat in my bed every meal at my house now or the bar. So, yeah, we eat dining room table, right? Yeah, and you even asked. You said, guys, should we eat at the dining room table or just at the couches? No, you eat it at dining room table. You act like I'm fancy. I don't know what's going on.
Starting point is 00:31:22 I didn't even have this music playing. First, I had on a 90s hip-hop channel on IHart Radio. It was a little too cursy for me. So then I put on, Raymond, it turned on the baseball game. It was the Red Sox and Yankees. Yeah. And so, I was like, where do we sit? And so I had it set nicely.
Starting point is 00:31:40 So I had like spoons and forks and stuff on the table. Oh, nice. Yeah. And then I had that. the food like laid out on the bar. That was good. It was like, you just go and get your own. No, there was not like a server or anything. Yeah, it was like cafeteria style.
Starting point is 00:31:54 Cafeteria. Like, you go up and there's like there's your entree right there, a little bit of sides right there, and you have the spoon you can serve, whatever you want, however you want. It was quite delightful Amy. Sounds like it. And he offered everyone drinks. Like, guys, the refrigerator is yours and it was stocked with whatever you wanted. Did he offer
Starting point is 00:32:13 in the first seven minutes? Yeah, as soon as you got there. When I did it the way that I would do it, I just opened the door and was like, have that out of folks. Like, I don't really know how to have a, I don't know the rules of doing something classy. Like, what's the classy rule? What do you do? Have everything out?
Starting point is 00:32:26 You weren't, what do you mean classy? You were just having people for dinner. I never, I never done that. Okay. And then we ate and we talked and what do we talk about mostly? I mean, just life. Like, it was quite, you know, like conversational. You know, everyone was, I felt like an adult.
Starting point is 00:32:44 You did? There were no kids there, by the way. No kids. We were around the table talking about, you know, a little bit of dancing with the stars, a little bit just about how everyone's doing. Went kind of down, like, where are you from? We talked to the producer. Where are you from?
Starting point is 00:32:56 He told us where he's from. Yeah, my producer, because he's with Sharnah and I the whole time. He records everything we do. He was on Deadliest Catch. He lived on the boat for... Wow! Great stories. Yeah, tell stories.
Starting point is 00:33:07 And then we would talk to Sharnah and my partner, about our ex-partners, on that show. Eddie and his wife, what did you guys talk about? I would told stories about, you know, us growing up and just, just personal stories. Like, I mean, we all don't really know each other. You know, obviously Bobby and I do and Ray, but everyone else really doesn't. So it was just kind of getting to know everyone. And the party started at eight, and no one got there at eight. But I knew that would happen.
Starting point is 00:33:31 But Ray Mundo showed up almost perfectly on time. First people there. Did it feel awkward being the first people there or no? No, I knew everybody was going to come fashionably late, but my girl said, hey, you know Bones is really serious about being on time. I was like, but it's a dinner party. you can be a couple minutes late. And they...
Starting point is 00:33:45 Okay, so, and then what time did you kick everybody out? Well, Raymond, I was trying to kick everybody out, like with my eyes. And they wouldn't listen. I know. Because I would just start looking at the door and nobody would go. And finally, Raymundo looks at his girlfriend and does... He puts his hands together, like in prayer position. And then puts his head on it like a pillow.
Starting point is 00:34:01 But he does it where everybody can see it. And so I was like, yep, you guys, you're tired. You got to go. And then that kind of opened the door. But yeah, it was fun. And then I was ready for everybody to be done. I was like, okay. I figured.
Starting point is 00:34:11 but it was two hours Right? That's good Oh that's good Yeah Solid timing And I had alcohol I don't drink But everybody else had some wine
Starting point is 00:34:21 I asked Ramundo I said what do you want to drink He said a cup of Micheloblites I'm good That's really all I need I'm not trying to get hammered Yeah So that's what we did on Friday evening
Starting point is 00:34:30 That's cool I probably do it again I feel better I feel pretty good about how it went down So I think we can do it again I think you've got it down Like that it was just perfectly done But you're right
Starting point is 00:34:40 At the end he was just like All right. We're done. Yeah, I was like, okay, that's it, folks. Wrap it up. Yeah, and we all went out. And everybody left. No lingering. It's not a fart. No.
Starting point is 00:34:51 Hanging out. We're just going to get out of it. Our tommies were full. We hadn't enough to drink. We're ready to leave. And I did it kind of Thanksgiving-e food-wise. I had just a hint of Thanksgiving in it. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:35:00 Yeah, right? Like what? Well, it was like cranberry sauce? Cranberry sauce. Pumpkin dessert. There was pumpkin stuff. There was some turkey. Oh, because it's fall.
Starting point is 00:35:08 Yeah. You had fall. It was a fall dinner. Maybe fall Maybe fall Dang, dude Where'd you learn all this stuff? I didn't
Starting point is 00:35:15 I just got on the internet Dude I did not on the internet YouTube has everything Yeah Yeah sorry you missed Dan Yeah I know
Starting point is 00:35:22 I really wanted to be there Would you have come? Of course I would have come Oh song's over Parties over All right That's how I happened At the night
Starting point is 00:35:29 So yeah I had a dinner party It was quite magical If I do say so Myself Got a little sleep Hey John party's coming in Full band will be in too
Starting point is 00:35:42 Joy week These artists are bringing in their music We're reminding you as we start today Do something good for somebody Do something nice for somebody It's time for the good news I got a good one here And I do love our police officers
Starting point is 00:36:02 A California sheriff's deputy is being recognized Because what happened is he's out And they get a call And this woman's in a motorized wheelchair And it's broken So it's in the middle of the road Like she gets stuck in the middle of road And he's like hey are you all right
Starting point is 00:36:14 She was like, my wheelchair's broken. So he gets out of his patrol car and pushes her a mile. Point three back to her house. I saw video of this. Did you see it? Pretty legit. Mm-hmm. Yeah, he says full uniform of boots pushing her in a wheelchair over a mile to get home.
Starting point is 00:36:31 How about that? And that's the place your wheelchair breaks down in the middle of road. Like, you're just trying to cross. Miao. So a big shout out to law enforcement, just in general. And a big shout out to, yeah, Deputy Montanis. I said that right. Yeah, you said it right.
Starting point is 00:36:42 Man, that's what it's all about. out right there. That was Tell Me Something Good. Bobby Bung. Come on. We're going to hit the Morning Corny a little bit early because John Party and his band are setting up in studio. Amy, you ready? Ready.
Starting point is 00:36:58 The Morning Corny! Why was the canon all hot and jobless? Why was the canon all hot and jobless? He was recently fired. No? No? It's just... Broome?
Starting point is 00:37:17 Hot and jobless? Fired? You fire a cannon. Hot and jobless? Fire the cannon. No? That's not even doing it today. Okay.
Starting point is 00:37:31 Hey, it's Bobby Bones here. With another Best Fiends announcement, you need this game in your life, folks. It's the mobile game that everyone's talking about. Starting point is 00:38:34 With John Party. Yeah, here we go. It's party time. Joy Week. One of my favorite people in all of, not even just music, but in all in Nashville. John Parties here. Clap again, five. My play, John Party. This guy.
Starting point is 00:38:46 He's standing up. He's got his whole band here. It's the first time for the whole band, so. Is this first time you guys been in here? Mm-hmm. Come on, come on. Yeah. John's breaking things.
Starting point is 00:38:58 You know how, Role. Lee and Terry came one time, but I thought it'd be cool for doing like a hour-long special to kind of have more sound and it would be fun. Wow, look at this. John's standing beside me right now.
Starting point is 00:39:10 And how big old boy are you? How tall are you? Six-four. Yeah. I mean, he is a bit... Listen, he's big when he stands next to me, but when I'm sitting, holy cow, six foot.
Starting point is 00:39:19 When did you grow? When did I grow? Get on the microphone right there. He said I got to talk to this one. They know more than I do. When did you start growing? I was always tall. I think I was 6-2 in high school, and then when I got,
Starting point is 00:39:33 to be a senior, I was about 6'3. 6.3 and a half, kind of what my measurement is. You're always a big boy? Yeah, but you know what? You know what? Coordination came later. Let's put it that way. Has it come yet, though, John Party?
Starting point is 00:39:45 Never. Fully? Has it come fully? Man, I'm such a big John Party fan. So what we're going to do over the next hour. And again, if you go to Bobby Bones.com, You can see our Pimp and Joy shirts and all the things. And as we try to help our military and do what we can because that is such an important cause to us.
Starting point is 00:40:00 And we remind people to find the real positive elements of your life and focus on them. And this is, you know, year after year we do this. And we only ask a few artists that we feel make us happy. So thank you for coming in. And giving your time to us and giving your time to our listeners and giving your time to the causes that we support. So I'll say it at the beginning. Thank you for coming in. I'm going to say it again later.
Starting point is 00:40:19 But then we're going to get the party on. You good? I'm ready. That's not even a pun. His name's John Party, but it's a real party. John Party is here. What are we going to start with, boys? What's the first song?
Starting point is 00:40:27 We're going to kick it off with the one that brought us in in 2016 with Head Over Boots. I like that one. That's a good one. Here we are. It's Joy Week, and here is John Party live in the studio. Hey, guys, so because of licensing roles, we can't play anything with music on this IHeartRadio channel or podcast anymore. But you can go to bobbybones.com to see it. We hate that we had to take it down.
Starting point is 00:40:49 It wasn't our decision. But I just wanted to keep you up, and we wanted to keep up as much. much as possible. So go to bobbybones.com to watch or hear whatever you're missing right now. And thank you for listening to the show. And sorry about all the legal stuff. John Pardy is here. It is Joy Week. Do you ever see people two-stepping or doing like the line dancing at your shows? I haven't seen much line dancing one time. But I'll look up into the stadium seats and I'll see them in the stairway up and also in the pit just kind of dancing. And there's a lot of couples that use that as their wedding
Starting point is 00:41:24 or just kind of like brought them together. And so it's fun to see him dancing in that. But it's got a good dance to swing to it. So it's fun to dance with anybody. Made me want to dance. Listen, I went and took country line dancing in college because I learned a bit. And my fan, I know that a two-step.
Starting point is 00:41:39 My grandma told me a two-step. Yeah. I'm from Arkansas. But I took country line dancing and I thought, I want to get all the girls. That was my goal. Spend him my goal my whole life is to get a girl. So I took country line dancing.
Starting point is 00:41:47 And I went and I was like, I'm going to be the only dude. And I went and I was the only dude. but all the women were like 50. Yeah. I was like 19 and, yeah. Usually we, I wasn't going to say that, but like usually we see a line dancer. It's like my grandma. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:59 Grandma's very fluent in line dancing. And I tried to date them too, but they weren't having it. They're like, no. John Parties here. So these guys here, these are your band. We got one, two, three. You have five members plus you in the band. How do you get a band?
Starting point is 00:42:11 How do you put them together? What's the story there? Well, we met through a friend back in a day. I mean, there's a long time ago. We talked about the band stuff. I met Lee eight or nine years ago, and he was band leader, and he's like, I got a bunch of guys. And we started doing showcases. And, of course, I could barely pay him, but I pay him a little bit, you know.
Starting point is 00:42:32 You want a band, I better pay him. So is it for you. In Nashville. For the band guys, is it kind of an investment with you guys early, too? Like you go, okay, we think there's some real, there's something to this guy. And if we maybe take less early, because you probably broke anyway, maybe it'll turn into something later. Is that a thing for you guys, too? or it's an investment to an artist?
Starting point is 00:42:51 Terry and Lee had been with me for a long time like through the van days and flying around we all went on radio tour together Oh you guys been the whole time huh? Look at that. Billy left us
Starting point is 00:43:03 for greener pastures but came back and then Andy moved to town when did you move town? Four years ago funny stories And you play the steel by the way You know they're sitting down playing the steel
Starting point is 00:43:16 It's funny like we were hanging at losers out in the deck back in the day and Andy walks up to he's like hey man like I play Bill Steele, I love your stuff I'd love to show you what I do and at the time we were kind of on the fence with one of our steel players and I showed Lee I was like
Starting point is 00:43:34 man look at this video this kid is just nailing all these steel parts and after a while so on so on we hired Andy and it's been fun and we got our new guy Mr. Kevin Murphy Hey new guy Kevin good to see you buddy Look at all you guys. He just started, but, you know, he's great.
Starting point is 00:43:54 He brought the band tight. Let me hear a little bit of that still. Just play a little stony. I want to listen to hear what you're doing. Come on. You ever go, you ever pop into that summer? Just, bha-e-d-me-h. I mean, oh, that's what I would do.
Starting point is 00:44:12 I'd learn it just to play that summer from Garth. That would be like, all right, boys, I'm done. I've mastered the instrument. John Parties here's band's here. Let's do another song. It's Joy Week. You got another joyful song for us? Which one you want to do?
Starting point is 00:44:25 You got all the options. We got Hardick on dance floor. That's a good one. We like that one too. All right, John Party's here. Bobby Bones. It's an hour long in studio concert. With John Party.
Starting point is 00:44:34 Yeah, our buddy. Joy week. John Party is here. Played Head Over Boots, played Hardick on the dance floor. And you can still go to Bobby Bones.com and check out our Pimp and Joy stuff. We don't keep any of that money. And we always encourage you to find the positivity in your life. That's the reset.
Starting point is 00:44:48 We've done this week many years now with our favorite artists. And John Party is no exception. one of our favorite artists. I may. Why don't we do something? I know you said you want to do a cover. I'm into that. What do you have here for us?
Starting point is 00:45:00 Well, we were thinking, since one of my favorites has passed, we do an Aretha Franklin song. All right. Now, I like the sound of this. What are we going to do here? It's going to be country, but it's very civil.
Starting point is 00:45:14 One of my favorites is called Do Right Woman. Oh, it's a good one. Yeah, here we go. John Pardis here. Everybody, clap your hands. Listen, boys, I want to tell you this. I may say this about once a year. Maybe a little.
Starting point is 00:45:26 That's one of the best performances of us song, period, we've ever had in the studio. Oh, thank you. That was so even... And I don't think our listeners, they can't see what I see, so I try to describe to this. John's standing up beside me, and to my right, and he's got his band, we're all surrounded here. If you guys will do the back, the do, just throw that in there so our listeners can hear that by itself, just so they don't think it's something. If you want to do it.
Starting point is 00:45:48 If you want to do right, do right. Oh. That's in the studio. That's not even a computer. Come on, man. You ought to be a do-rack, do-rat, do-rat. Oh, hallelujah, baby. Aretha, baby.
Starting point is 00:46:09 That, dude, that was amazing. Thank you. I don't know if you could, I know that I love the song. I was feeling that. Holy cow. Which had to keep a soulful for the queen of soul. Man, all right. I don't even know what to do after that.
Starting point is 00:46:23 I don't even smoke. I don't even smoke. You know what I mean? Holy crap, man. All right, well, I have a drink water for a second, John. Yeah, feel good. How it sound, mate? Sound guy says it's awesome.
Starting point is 00:46:36 Yeah. I say it's awesome. I know. I know. I forgot you had headphones on. Yeah. I'm just... John's going, do I sound good on my guitar on?
Starting point is 00:46:44 We're like, yeah, dude. What's my guitar on? Let's do something new. You have to do something new? You might do something new? I think our audience will like to hear something new? You want to do a new song? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:53 Yeah, I figure we... dust this one off and play a new song that it's kind of a it's about a girl leaving a guy so uh but it's got a cool hook so you say dusting it off this is a this is a new song right yeah but it's been record for a while we've been we've been waiting you know so we're almost done with the new record and um by next year we'll have it i love this jump parties here what's this what's what's been called john this one's called ain't always a cowboy. I love it.
Starting point is 00:47:25 All right, boys. So, you give you a breath here. We're going to come back. If I can make a request, I'd like in the next segment for you to play dirt on my boots. Can I do requests? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:34 Give a 20 to the band, get it played earlier. Is that how it works? Okay. Did you ever do that? Back in the day, people would tip you a little more and you play their cover song?
Starting point is 00:47:40 Oh, yeah. I watched Terry get a $100 tip to sing any more by Travis Trit. And at first he was like, man, I don't know that song. And a guy gave me a hundred bucks. He's like, I don't have a lot of shit.
Starting point is 00:47:54 We're all playing in bars, you know. It's an hour long in studio concert. With John Party. Joy week. Yes, and we've got the whole band here. If you just turning the radio on, let us remind you that once a week, we invite some of our favorite people, some of our favorite artists that bring us joy. We work with the military and help out specific causes that help us. John Party has volunteered his time and brought his band in.
Starting point is 00:48:22 And first of all, thank you again for doing that. I know it's in the morning. This is not when you normally sing. These guys probably ain't even awake until noon, and they're in here this morning. Say, I appreciate all you. Look at this. Come on.
Starting point is 00:48:31 Come on. Kevin, the drummer's like, that's your guy, he's like, you're right, I don't wake up right now. I just saw the look. I saw the look. So let's play that new single night shift.
Starting point is 00:48:43 I haven't heard that one live, John, yet. I haven't heard it live. Oh, man. You like playing this one? This is a fun one. This is a rock and one. Okay.
Starting point is 00:48:50 I usually, this is one of, I put the guitar down, walk around the catwalk, but I'm back on the guitar. I was watching you on... I get up on the desk. Like Instagram Live walk around. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:59 And somebody was doing Instagram Live of you and you were walking around. And I got to say, a lot of energy. I try. You're bouncing around pretty good out there. I was tired there too. And your jeans were super tight and you were still moving like a cat.
Starting point is 00:49:09 I know. Stretchy pants. It was stretching pants. John Parties here. Here is night shift. Hey guys, so because of licensing roles, we can't play anything with music on this I-heart radio channel
Starting point is 00:49:22 or podcast anymore. but you can go to bobbybones.com to see it. We hate that we had to take it down. It wasn't our decision, but I just wanted to keep you up and we wanted to keep up as much as possible. So go to bobbybones.com to watch or hear whatever you're missing right now,
Starting point is 00:49:35 and thank you for listen to the show, and sorry about all the legal stuff. Night shift. That's a single from John Party right now. Man, that's a jam, huh? That's a fun one to do. Found myself singing along. You see me playing air drums over here? Can you notice me?
Starting point is 00:49:50 I saw you. I'm trying to get you noticed me. You have to maybe recruit me to the band. Tamborine guy. Hey, by the way, did your family get Marin, her dog, Marim Morris Pancake? Yeah. Was that, so how'd that happen? Well, I was talking to Marin, and she said Ryan was looking for a bulldog,
Starting point is 00:50:08 and he showed me a picture of, like, what he was interested, and I was like, and since my mom loves bulldogs, I was like, oh, no, no, you don't want to get that. Like, I can already tell, like, you know, my mom's puppies are way cuter, and so she had another batch, and I sent, uh, I sent a video to my manager I said, hey, get to Samaritan and show, you know, that Dolly, my mom's like best dog is pregnant.
Starting point is 00:50:33 And after that, it was like they kept, then it was my mom and Ryan going back and forth and then they got pancake. Oh, look at that. Yeah. Friendship. I had pancake for 15 hours and I kept calling,
Starting point is 00:50:43 you're going to come pick up this puppy? When are you going to be able to pick this puppy up? John party. Listen, before break, I hope it wasn't rude. I requested dirt on my boo. And I think that if you guys don't mind, we could wrap this thing up with that. Do you guys know that one?
Starting point is 00:50:59 A little bit. A little bit. Hey. We're going to need a hundred bucks. You got it. You got it. But John Party is here. He's going to play darn-all-a-boots, and we're going to run out on the end of this song. But let me just say, all of you guys, I appreciate you so much.
Starting point is 00:51:12 My listeners appreciate you so much. Lots of fun. Whenever you need us, man, you let me know. We're here for you. Live and Joy Week on the Bobby Bone Show. It's time for the good news. With Amy. So I love it when I see celebrities using their influence for good.
Starting point is 00:51:30 And shout out Kristen Bell, because she's participating in the 10 featured teachers challenge. Have you seen that? What is the 10 featured teachers? It's hard to say. 10 featured teachers challenge. A lot of celebs on Instagram are participating in it, and they're picking 10 different teachers to feature on their Instagram that need different school supplies or things. And think of how many followers Kristen Bell has. So she posts something.
Starting point is 00:51:53 And in particular, this one teacher in Baltimore got help after Kristen Bell, you know, posted about her situation in some of her students. Like, one of her students wasn't coming to school on rainy days because they had to walk to school and they straight up just didn't have a raincoat and an umbrella. Well, that's not necessarily a school supply, but for a teacher, that's part of her kids, like, getting to class and being there. So people rallied together and have been sending supplies even such as that to her classroom, all because Kristen Bell posted. That's cool That even inspires me to go We should pick something I know
Starting point is 00:52:27 Yeah I'm gonna sit on this for a minute I know we're in the middle of Joy Week Yeah but Like it starts today And our Pimp and Joy shirts are going up And they're up Bobby Bowens.com And it's helping military So let's do this week for military
Starting point is 00:52:40 But I like that I do too I like military And we love teachers And teachers and puppies And police And police And St. Jude
Starting point is 00:52:49 Yeah All the peoples Yeah We're just a pretty loving bunch. I'll be honest. It's hard. You know, we do. We do.
Starting point is 00:52:56 We do. Thank you for that. That was tell me something good. Folks, it's your buddy and mind. Mr. Bobby Bones. Well, I posted on my Insta story over the weekend, but on Saturday morning I was driving to dance practice. And I'm sitting at a traffic light. I'm really minding my own business.
Starting point is 00:53:26 And boom! Getting nailed from behind. And so I'm like, it scared the crap out of me, right? And I didn't know if it hurt at first And I was like, what? And so I looked back in the window And their face was like, oh no Because you know when you hit somebody
Starting point is 00:53:42 You're like, uh-oh. So I'm like, what do I do? Because it knocked me in the middle of the road And it was a pretty busy road. And so I didn't know if I was supposed to just sit there Because my car had just been bam nailed Or if I was supposed to drive up And get out of the road.
Starting point is 00:53:58 Now my first instinct was I wasn't hurt at least not then I'm hurting a little bit now but it could be from all the dancing I'm not sure but listen I got hit hard and so my car's kind of pointed to where the front of the car is in the middle of the road
Starting point is 00:54:16 and I think I don't want to shut down the whole road so I'm just going to move up like if you're getting pulled over by a cop you get up and you go to the side road and you pull over because my car could drop I got hit from behind not the front didn't mess up the front wheels so I pull up I take a right and I just pull over the side of the road.
Starting point is 00:54:32 And the person that hit me got so mad. He was like, you don't move after you've been hit because that can insurance. Oh, yeah, that's true. But, but. I was right in the middle of the road. Yeah, because I see cars pull over to the side of the road all the time to exchange info and whatnot. I don't really know that that's true. What do you think, Amy?
Starting point is 00:54:54 Gosh, I don't know. What would you have done? It knocked me in the middle of the road. I would have pulled over. At first, when you said that he said that about insurance, I was like, oh, yeah, good point. You should stay put. But I don't know what the right thing to do is because I think I would have done what you did. Lunchbox?
Starting point is 00:55:12 Oh, I think the cops say, if you can move your vehicle, you move your vehicle out of the roadway. That is what I felt. So I think you did the right thing and that guy needs to calm down a little bit. Well, so I'm there and I'm taking pictures of his car. I'm taking pictures of things. And he's like getting irritated with me as I'm taking, can I get my phone? phone out and I'm just like, we have phones now. We're supposed to take pictures of these things. Back in the day, they would say keep a camera like a disposable in your glove box and then you
Starting point is 00:55:37 take pictures and you have the camera. So I'm taking pictures and I'm like, hey man, I need your insurance and I'm taking pictures of his insurance and he's really snippy with me. He hit me. I think he was texting. If I'm being for real. Oh, oh, that's when you say, can I see your phone and you check his text log and you take a picture of that and then you have evidence going to court. I didn't think about that. I did not do that. What? But finish your sentence. You said, if I'm being for real, like, what makes you think he was texting? Because I was just sitting at a light.
Starting point is 00:56:06 And I was the first person at the light. How do you drive up and hit somebody from behind if you're not focused on something else? If you're just playing the odds, you're probably focused on your phone. Right? Yeah. And he was, and I bet you this person never texting their phone again. That's why I would say don't text and drive because when you do text and drive and you hit something, you'll go, oh, I shouldn't have done that. My opinion was he was texting and driving, hits me.
Starting point is 00:56:29 scares the crap out of me I text my dance partner I'm like hey I was in an accident and it might be a few minutes late guess what I wasn't late I'm never late You can still get in a wreck and be on time That's right
Starting point is 00:56:41 That's what I always say You should be able to have a flat tire Fix it and get to your place on time And got hit Got to dance practice And have all the insurance Whatever And what happened was
Starting point is 00:56:54 Then the dude Who's probably You know 30s I was like trying to calm him down to? I was like, hey man, don't worry about it. Like, this happens. And then I'm going, why do we? I think I'm my answer to him. I was like, who am I, Tony Robbins? Like, trying to give this guy a motivational speech.
Starting point is 00:57:10 Because he was obviously distri- We've all made mistakes. And we take that sadness or anger or frustration and we kind of put it on to another person. And he was putting that on to me, but then I realized I'd be upset too if I'd done something boneheaded. And I was like, hey, man, like, don't worry about it. Like, nobody seriously hurt.
Starting point is 00:57:28 Like, our cars are just, They're just pieces of machinery. Mine's got some stuff. Yours has got some stuff. Nothing's crazy. We can both drive away from here. We're good. And I think he was going to the airport.
Starting point is 00:57:38 And I was like, you can still catch. No, no. I said, you can still catch your flight. Like, I was totally giving him a speech like a coach. I was like, you've got this, buddy. You go have a good day now. And so, yeah, that happens Saturday morning. I never get into accidents.
Starting point is 00:57:51 I guess I did. Is this count of me getting into an accident? Yes, that's an accident. I didn't do it. But you're involved, but you're involved in an accident. So how should I proceed? because my neck's hurting. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:01 No. Settle out of court, though. I'll give him the options and say, hey, man, we can settle this under the table or we can... Under the table? What does that mean? He passes me a suitcase full of cash. That's right.
Starting point is 00:58:12 Or a duffel bag, either one. He can leave it behind the toilet. Here's my thing with getting in a wreck is that you have to report it, right? And then you have to... You have to make sure, even though if there's no damage, it looks like it, because there's a little damage of mine. But I've been in a wreck before where someone hit me and then like a week later my car starts to fall apart a week later,
Starting point is 00:58:30 and I didn't have any information. It's like, oh, we're good. Don't worry about it. You didn't hit anything. You don't break anything. So you should always exchange insurance and information, even if it looks like nothing has happened because something could have happened and you may not know it yet.
Starting point is 00:58:41 Yeah. And if you get into a wreck and maybe there wasn't any damage, take a hammer under your bumper and put a couple of dids. That way, you make sure they have to go and look at it a little closer. And think about that. Yeah. Would you really do that? I mean, let's say, let's say.
Starting point is 00:58:55 Oh boy, let's say. Now he's doing let's say. Well, behind me, a nice car hits me. Yeah. I'm going to say they got the money to afford it, so maybe they can fix my car. If it's a hunk of junk, I'm probably not going to do it because they're probably not going to be able to afford to fix my car. Well, that's what happened to me Saturday morning. You got into an accident.
Starting point is 00:59:10 Man. So tonight, just know that when I'm dancing with the stars, I'm dancing with a heart of her back. All that. Wow, a damaged car. Yeah, yeah, that stinks. Tonight on Dancing with the Stars, I will be dancing to a million dreams. from the greatest showman. And that movie is about P.T. Barnum.
Starting point is 00:59:37 You may know from Barnum and Bailey Circus, P.T. Barnum. But when he was a kid, he grew up super poor, and he had all these dreams, and this song, him as a kid. And we were trying to find a song that related to my story, because tonight is supposed to be the greatest year of your life. And for me, I picked my high school graduation, because no one had ever graduated high school before. So it was not so much about that year to me,
Starting point is 00:59:58 but just the idea of, it doesn't matter where you come from, It's where you go. And no one really had an education in my family, but I thought, man, if I can graduate high school, then I can go to college. And if I graduate college, then I can get started. It was just that first domino for me. And after I graduated high school, my mom, who had me, she was a teenager, went back to school and got her GED.
Starting point is 01:00:19 She's since passed, but that was a really big thing for me. And so I'm going to dance to the song because the song even feels like me. I close my eyes and I can see a world that's waiting. And I'm doing it barefoot, and my feet are killing me because I've been practicing barefoot. I have no skin on my feet on my feet. So I'm hoping just pure emotion takes me through my feet hurting because I'm like, ow, ow, ow. It feels like when you walk on like something hot. Right now, just when I walk.
Starting point is 01:00:51 Yeah. They can say, they can say it all sounds crazy. I got a book. I'll start with a book. I start reading a book. I showed Eddie pretty much the whole video of practice. Looks so good. It's all...
Starting point is 01:01:04 Can I say it's magical? Like, is that weird to say? Because that's what I felt when I watched it. I don't know if it's magical. You probably just know me. I don't know if the audience is going to feel anything. I don't know if the package is going to be like. I will say that...
Starting point is 01:01:16 I don't know. I don't know if it's going to be terrible or awesome. But it's hard because my... It's not just like jive jumping around. It's like expressive dancing and, like, bending. That's called contemporary. Yeah, that's what the style is called, contemporary. Whatever that means.
Starting point is 01:01:29 I was like Drake. But she was like... We're going to do contemporary. I was like, oh, all right. Start up one to bottom, now we're here. Or maybe something new. Contemporary means what's happening currently, but apparently it's a style of dance
Starting point is 01:01:40 and you move a certain way. So tonight on Dancing with the Stars, I will be doing a million dreams from the greatest showman, which is pretty cool. I'm pretty excited. I think I'm less nervous about this one than the others because it feels
Starting point is 01:01:51 a little bit personal. Like, I feel like I need to do it well for me instead of just do it well for the cameras. And then our listeners that vote are so awesome. If you guys would vote for me, that would be awesome. You don't have to, but that's the only way I'm staying on this show, because I'm not the best dancer. I'm not even one of the best three or four dancers. But we were at my house on Saturday night having like a dinner party, and Reimundo, we all predicted the top three.
Starting point is 01:02:13 And Raymondo picked me in the top three of his. Easily. That's what I bet on you. He bet, but Eddie did not. Eddie did not put me in his top three. I did not. Oh, wow. I put you in the top five.
Starting point is 01:02:22 But that's not a thing. As of right now, if what I see, I'm acting like a TV judge. As of right now, I don't see top five. You only see top of. It doesn't mean you can't get better, bones. It's not just about dancing, though. Right. No, I know.
Starting point is 01:02:34 Oh, yeah. But it is a dancing show. Half of it's dancing. Half of it's, if you can get America to like you. Hey, let's see what you do tonight. Okay, I like that. I like that. But yeah, that's an honest conversation where we're having.
Starting point is 01:02:47 Eddie's like, nah. And Sharna, my dance partner was there, and she's like, all right, all right. She's like, you don't put us a little. But it's honest. I love honesty. So there we go. Tonight. Nice.
Starting point is 01:02:57 I'll be on Dancing with the Stars. Get my dance on. It's me, your friend Bobby, here to dance. I'm ready, America, and I want you to love me. Let's dance. That music's awesome. If that doesn't pump you up, I don't know what will. That's the greatest showman.
Starting point is 01:03:26 That's awesome. That's the first song they're doing that show. The Bobby Bone Show. Amy, are you a lawnmower parent? No, I don't think so. A lawnmower parent. mows over any problems for their kid. A helicopter parent
Starting point is 01:03:41 hovers above the kid all the time. Amy, what piece of machinery type parent are you if you, like, talk us through this? Yeah, I don't know. What kind of parenting style do you have? I just like to come alongside my kids, so I'm like a,
Starting point is 01:03:56 I'm like one of those motorcycles that has a little cart next to it. Oh yeah? You're a side car parent? Yeah, I'm a side cart parent. Like, come on, kids, let's go. Like, I'm going to try to get. you through this life, be your guide, if you will, and try to go through things with you.
Starting point is 01:04:13 But I don't want to hover and I don't want to mow over problems because they need to go through things in life to learn and grow. But I also don't want to hover because I want them to, like, grow into their own people. Do you talk with them about them being at the orphanage? Yeah, of course. Like conversations, like tell me about this. Not therapy-ish, but just so they can continue to talk. and somewhat process those feelings now that they're not living at the orphanage anymore?
Starting point is 01:04:42 Yes, we talk about all kinds of things. They're friends that are still there, experiences they had there, what nights were like. Stories come up all the time because that was their life. It would be like, yeah, I mean, they're still, we've only been here nine months. So they lived there for so many years. So yeah, it's just part of natural conversation. Again, to answer your question that it's not the therapeutic part or getting things out, but just talking through it.
Starting point is 01:05:07 And I don't want them to ever forget some of the stuff there too because it is part of their story, part of their life. And we pray for their friends there every night. Oh, really? And your prayers? Mm-hmm. Like specific friends? They do.
Starting point is 01:05:19 Specific friends. Sometimes it's by name. Sometimes just like all the kids at the orphanage. Sometimes it's Papa Pierre. Sometimes it's my mom Haiti, which is their biological moms. Whenever they pray for mom, they pray for dad, which would be me and my husband. and then they say, and then my mom Haiti, my aunt Haiti, yeah. So.
Starting point is 01:05:42 That's interesting. I always wondered what you guys did with that, like if it was a constant, like, piece of communication. Probably healthiest for them, huh? Did you read the podcast or a book or did you just feel that way? I think it's just what's happening organically. That's, you know, I mean, some of the stuff I don't want them to lose. I even don't want them to lose their creole.
Starting point is 01:06:03 So some stuff, my son, like, he won't really speak it as much. And I know that with my daughter, it can. But I also want them to keep that part alive, too, even though we're just, like, focused on English right now because that's how they're going to get an education. And how is their English? I feel like it's getting better. But some people are like, I don't really think so. And I'm like, are you for real? I mean, I can have full-blown.
Starting point is 01:06:31 It just amazes me when they first got here. I was so confused sometimes I could not talk to them. I had no idea what they were saying. And then now I can survive an entire day with really knowing exactly everything they're trying to tell me. But do you know more Creole? No, it's not because I know Creole. It's just I understand what they're trying to say in their choice of English. They're just not choosing the right word sometimes, but I know what they're trying to say.
Starting point is 01:06:55 Yeah. All right. Well, I just wondered about that stuff. That's cool talking about, right? Like me to ask you about on the air? I mean, sure. I hope so. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:02 Any questions for Amy and a better kids? Tutoring. Are they accepting the tutoring more? You said they were kind of struggling with, oh, more work, more work. Yes, they're accepting it more and it's cool. Like they're starting to get, I can tell a difference with that. But yeah, one of the things we have to get down is him, her, and them, and they. Like, Bobby, if they're talking about you.
Starting point is 01:07:26 Well, no, they will be like, oh, she's on TV, she's on TV. Oh, wow. Who's on TV? They're like, Bobby. I'm like, Bobby's a he. Well, lunchbox six times I'm a she, too. Just to be fair. They're on to something.
Starting point is 01:07:38 And then they'll be talking about something. And be like, well, he did this to me at school. And I'm like, who? Linda. I'm like, okay, Linda's a girl. That's funny. Yeah, he, she. Then they.
Starting point is 01:07:51 I'm like, who gave that to you? Them did. I'm like, no, they did. Again, I'm not too good to have those problems still, too. All right. The Bobby Bone Show. We're going to play guess that sound? Amy's good at this game.
Starting point is 01:08:04 Yeah, I am. What I'll do is, I'll play a sound. You have to name it. The theme is all these things are found on a farm. So, yeah, I mean, it's easy as pot. Are you walking a farm? Come on. You hear all these things.
Starting point is 01:08:17 Okay, Amy, you ready for the first one? Ready. Name the sound. Okay. Now, I took that from this farm. My friend's farm. Can you name that sound? I'll do it one more time.
Starting point is 01:08:30 Go ahead. The sheep? Mm. Lunchbox, you want a shot at that? Go ahead. Yeah, I got a goat. He has a goat. Let me hear it again.
Starting point is 01:08:42 Is that a goat? Yeah. Yes, I know. Amy. Lunchbox, it's your turn. Here we go. And name the sound. Things found on a farm.
Starting point is 01:09:00 Oh, yeah. That's a saw. Oh, a saw. Yeah. Show me a saw. Yeah. Yeah. Good.
Starting point is 01:09:07 All right. Okay, good. All right. Amy, back to you. Name the sound. You hear that, right? Yeah. Can you name that sound?
Starting point is 01:09:23 Starting the truck. The truck. Oh, my gosh. Okay. Lunchbox? I'd be starting my tractor if I made that noise. Let's see, let's hear it. Is that a tractor?
Starting point is 01:09:40 You guys on fire. All right, lunchbox, name this one. I walk around the farm. It's all this happened. happening to sound out? Oh, yeah. Go ahead? Oh, that's old Miss Piggy.
Starting point is 01:09:55 Miss Piggy, he said. Yeah, that's the piggy, Miss Piggy. The pig. Show me, Pig? Yeah. Hey, here we get dominated. I know. One more, Ann.
Starting point is 01:10:06 Here you go. Name this sound. Chainsaw. There we go. She gets a walkout. There is. Bletchbox, I believe you're the winner. Would you like to walk down
Starting point is 01:10:19 sound effect row? Yeah. All right, how fast can you name this one? Oh, that's a shovel. That's correct, boom. How fast can you name this one? Sprinkler. Nailed it.
Starting point is 01:10:30 How fast can you name this one? Blower. Wheat eater. Ooh. Yeah, if you didn't give it in a second, you got a little cocky on that way. I want to get a little cocky, sorry. All right, one more.
Starting point is 01:10:40 All right. Oh, that's a horse trotting. That's right. Wow. This guy knows this farm. You ever even been on a farm? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:48 Yeah, I've been to a couple farms in my life. Yeah. Well, do you want your song or no? Yeah. All that's doing with wheat. Amy, how do you feel? You didn't do very... Yeah, I did not do good at all.
Starting point is 01:11:13 I feel like I just, out the gate, bad start, thinking the goat was a sheep. Yeah, it's tough to get started. Or lamb. I know. And weren't you like FFA? Future Farmers of America? Yeah. No.
Starting point is 01:11:26 Wasn't that your major in college? No, I have an agricultural-related degree. So, yeah, I took animal science. Some of my labs were out on a farm. No. I probably weren't listening much around, though, were you? I guess not. Here's Amy's Pile of Stories.
Starting point is 01:11:47 So you know that movie A Star is Born that came out this last weekend? Okay, so Bradley Cooper, his character, has a dog in the movie, and guess who he hired to play his dog? Hold on. Let me think about this. Who would he hired to play his dog? Matt Damon. No, it was actually really a dog, but he hired his own dog because they already are. had good chemistry and he knew his dog would listen to him and so boom his dog got the job
Starting point is 01:12:13 and that's who played the role so i thought that was really good also one of my best friends saw the movie i didn't get to see it but she said it it's she's like obsessed with it really like one of the greatest movies yeah hmm i've i used to do some of my dog i used to get my dog parts does your dog how would you pay your animal do they pay the animal's owner they just pay the animal in kibbles and bits all right here's your day's Skibbles and bits. Yeah, they pay the owner. That's awesome.
Starting point is 01:12:39 All right, what else, Amy? Well, there's a class action lawsuit against LaCroix right now, the sparkling water, you know? And they're saying that it's not all natural. The suit is against national beverage, which is the parent company of LaCroi, and it says that the drinks contain ingredients found in incesticide and in certain cancer treatments. What? Wait, so let me get this straight. So there are no bugs inside of meat because of intestinide. And it's fighting cancer?
Starting point is 01:13:06 Sounds good to you? Yeah. So you're fine with that? Well, I'm just saying... And it tastes like strawberry? It's a little peach. Yeah, I know. I get it.
Starting point is 01:13:17 I'm just saying there's stuff in everything we have. There's all kinds of stuff. We don't even know we're eating and consuming. Those LaCroix memes crack me up. They're like, if you're drinking the strawberry one, they say stuff like, ew, it tastes like my LaCroy truck drove past a strawberry field. Like the sparkling water. It's just such a... hint of strawberries. It's not even like a lot.
Starting point is 01:13:38 Oh. Okay. So. Okay. Fine. All right. All right. Go ahead. Maybe I'm not recalling the meme correctly. You always love when someone, like, quote the joke and doesn't get it right on. You know, they went to like a comedy show and they want to tell you the joke. And it's only like 68% there.
Starting point is 01:13:57 And you're like, ugh. No, that's the story of my life. Go ahead. Like not retelling stories the best way possible. So this is kind of creepy. There's a nail trend that might be catching on, and it's like basically trolls on the end of your finger. Like, picture a little troll hair. Oh, that's gross.
Starting point is 01:14:16 They're gluing hair onto the nail bed, and so your nails are furry. And then the hair is just like hanging out like a troll on each finger. Yeah, that's weird. No, they get to go your back. It's like hair, though. Who wants that? Who knows if it will really catch on, but there's definitely people trying to gain traction on Instagram online to get it going. All right, there you have it.

Starting point is 01:15:32 Like I just love that song and I've been practicing hard. I know. I mean, I've seen the dance move. I think the dance routine, some of it. And I really think it's going to be, I say amazing, like the whole thing, the whole package, like everything. People are going to be super impressed. I've been putting fake skin on the bottom of my feet. I've had to put that because I've been practicing with that shoes for three days.
Starting point is 01:15:54 You don't, apparently this dance style called contemporary, you don't put, we don't wear shoes. I'll talk contemporary would be like Jordans. No, it's apparently barefoot. And so all week long, I've been practicing barefoot. barefoot and you have to, what's this stuff? Second skin, I think is what it's called. Oh yeah. And you have to pay, when you tear the skin off, you just put on plastic skin. Oh. And it still hurts. And you put on alcohol, my feet are dead at this point.
Starting point is 01:16:15 Um, that's for me. Amy, what are you doing today? I'm just hanging out with my dad. Yeah? How's that going? Good. Yeah. Just trying to keep him entertained and visit with him and hang out with him and just be like, okay, made it another day. Let's get on. Just get this over with. Yeah. And so what's he going through right now? Chemo radiation, but now he's finishing out the rest of his treatment at, like, in a hospital.
Starting point is 01:16:41 Because he just can't be at home alone. And, well, we would be there with him, but it's just too much for, like, one person like me or my sister to handle. So we need help, like nurses and stuff. But I am excited to have him watch you tonight. I don't think he's seen any of your dancing with the stars yet. So I'm going to be watching it with you. him. Lunchbox, anything going on today? Oh, yeah. My cousin's in town, so I got to take him and out to dinner, and we got to watch you with dancing with the stars and get them to vote.
Starting point is 01:17:11 Yeah, I need those. By the way, I need those votes. Yeah. I think it's 11 votes tonight. You can call vote 11 times. Oh, it goes down every time. It's for every contestant. Every, what do you mean? Because it's usually 12. Yeah, because there's only 11 people tonight competing. Oh, that, I was wondering how they came up with those numbers. Yeah, it was 13, 13, and there's 12, 11. Yeah, that's what it is. Yeah, so yeah, if you vote, that'd be awesome. We'll see you tomorrow.
