Starting point is 00:02:55 Morning. Coming up, Kane Brown. Coming up, the Friday morning dance party. The last couple of days, lunchbox has not only said, but reinforced the fact that he thinks he's one of the top 25 most famous people in country. music. Yeah, my new nickname is top 25. You gave yourself that nickname. Yeah, and you guys are going to start calling me that. Okay. I have some voicemails. This is Mandy in North Dakota. Hey, studio morning. And I was just listening to lunchbox saying that he is in the top 25 people of Nashville. And I think he is ridiculous. Like seriously, like you think you and Marina Lamberts
Starting point is 00:03:36 are on the same page. You get real Punchbacks. Love everybody else on the show. You guys are amazing. Lunchbox, you're fucking idiot. Oh, that was a little far. No, I like it. It was okay. I was fine. Let me tell you how famous Miranda Lambert is. She called her Miranda Lambert's.
Starting point is 00:03:53 She didn't even know her name. She gave her an extra S. So, I mean, she can't be that famous if you don't even know her name, lady. Okay. She went hard. Yeah, so bleep you, too. Oh, okay. You know what? That's fine. You know what? All right, here is the next voicemail. Hey, Bobby. I got a way to figure out if Lunchbox really
Starting point is 00:04:08 is part of the top 25 in Nashville, which, by the way, he's not, check out Instagram follower numbers. And if he's so famous and popular, where's that blue check mark? Oh, do you have a blue check on Instagram? No, I can't get it. Okay. I've tried numerous times,
Starting point is 00:04:24 and they deny me every time, and I don't understand how. When you have as many followers I do, there's obviously, there's something behind that, and they just reject it, reject it, reject it, reject it. Politics, you think? Yeah, it's politics. You have 308,000 followers. But you're following zero people. Maybe they think you're some kind of weird.
Starting point is 00:04:39 Yeah. But I mean, I apply. They say upload all this stuff and they send me emails. Oh, you need to apply. And I apply and then they never, they don't approve it. Then I even had someone on the inside that was supposed to hook me up. Never hooked me up. Amy has 634,000 followers and a blue check mark.
Starting point is 00:04:56 Yeah. Yeah, but I. That's famous. No. I don't not put myself in that category at all. I'm staying far, far away from what lunchbox is saying. Eddie has 237,000 followers. and just added a blue check mark.
Starting point is 00:05:08 No, stop it. I'm just kidding. Oh, my gosh. I was like, I'm about to get my phone right now. I was about to lose it. I was about to lose. Oh, you got my blood. I was hot.
Starting point is 00:05:19 Dylan in Washington State. Oh, Scuba Steve has a check mark. Did you know that? No. At 19,000 followers. Which is so stupid. It makes no sense. What happened?
Starting point is 00:05:27 Scoo Steve, how'd you get a blue check? I just woke up one morning and I got an email saying I've been verified. Really? And yeah, that's just how it happened. You don't know anybody at Instagram? I know one person, but I don't. They didn't reach out to her and ask her. Because I don't,
Starting point is 00:05:38 and that's not something I would do. Well, it's something I've done. That's not me. Scuba Steve Radio has 19.3,000 followers with a blue check marks. How is that possible? Just screaming at us. Here is Dylan in Washington
Starting point is 00:05:51 State. Dylan, thank you for calling the show. What's going on? So I just, I'm in Washington so I'm a little bit behind, but I want to talk about lunchbox in the top 25. Yeah. So one time my wife and I were driving through Nashville
Starting point is 00:06:03 and we had saw him, or we saw lunchbox running down the street. He was just running on the sidewalk, and I told my wife, I said, hey, turn the car around. We've got to go get lunchbox. Got to go get a picture with him. Flip the entire car around. Found him wherever he was running at because he took off running the opposite direction. I was screaming out the window, lunchbox, lunchbox, hey, can I get a picture with you?
Starting point is 00:06:26 And he ran over to the car, stuck his entire head in the window and took the picture with me and my wife. I don't know if he's going to remember that or not. But I think lunchbox is definitely top 25. What do you remember about that? I remember it happens all the time. Like, I'll be running down the road. People yell at me and honk and turn their car around. Like, oh, my gosh, I can't believe it's you.
Starting point is 00:06:47 And they want pictures. I mean, it's just a normal day of my life. That's just the stuff you deal with being this famous. Top 25, that happens. Top 25, yeah. Hey, thanks for that story, Dylan. Appreciate you calling. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:07:00 Thank you all. I mean, famous relative, too. So yes, I'm sure to some people, you are super famous-ish. Yeah, I mean, he flipped the car around. If you're 25, I don't know, just throw a number on it. What would Amy be? Amy just looks like a Burnett girl. I mean, she's probably top 100.
Starting point is 00:07:20 Even hundreds good. Yeah, I'll take it. I mean, I don't really care, so never mind. You put her in the top 100? Yeah, I mean, because I couldn't name 100 people that are that. You just can't name 100 people, period. Right, that's why Amy would get in the top 100. Boy, do we got a good one today.
Starting point is 00:07:36 Cain Brown will be in later. If you love Cain Brown, this is the show for you. Time to open up the mailbag. You send an email and we read it on the air. It's something we call Bobby's Mailbag. Yeah. Dear Bobby, I've been really kicking butt at work. I work as an airline ticket counter agent, gate agent,
Starting point is 00:07:55 bagged service agent, and my boss gave me a $300 bonus today in the form of a Visa gift card. My husband and I aren't hurting for money, but my husband does most of the bills. He's a military officer. My question, should I tell my husband and use it on a nice night out for both of us? Or not tell my husband and use it on stuff for me and just enjoy the fruits of my labor. Sincerely, hard work paying off. First of all, congratulations on that bonus.
Starting point is 00:08:24 That's awesome. Yeah. Yeah. That's $300 for you. Yeah. What does she do, Amy? Well, I mean, it is for you. I mean, I don't think you need to keep.
Starting point is 00:08:32 from your husband. And it's up to you if you want to do it on a nice night out. But also, if you want to spend it all on yourself, he's got to be okay with that. This is what I would suggest. I would suggest you go to him. I would be honest about it because you don't want him finding out later. Yeah. But I would say, hey, I got a $300 bonus. And I already have in mind what you want to buy with that bonus and pitch it as that. Let's say there's a dress that you want to buy that's $120 from the internet. You go, I just got a $300 bonus. And I really want to buy this $120 dress that I found yesterday. Is that, is that cool?
Starting point is 00:09:04 As long as you're not open-ended, like, I got a bonus. Oh, I want to do something just for me. That feels different than I got a bonus. This is what I'd like to get with it. So I say, know what you want. Say, hey, I got a bonus. Is it cool if I get this? And I think that'll be accepted a little more.
Starting point is 00:09:20 But I think you should spend it on yourself if you want to. But just know what you want to spend it on. An open-ended, I want to just buy me something, feels a bit more selfish than. I've been looking at this for a while. now that I have this bonus, would it be cool if I use it on this? That would be my suggestion there. Well, hopefully he's cool with it.
Starting point is 00:09:38 Look, you never want to lie in your marriage, so that's not a good thing, but it's her money 100%. She deserved it. She earned it. Like, it's her money, and I think her husband would be just okay, spending it however she wanted to.
Starting point is 00:09:50 My only question is my only pushback on that. That's her money. Does that mean that all the money he makes is his money? No, this is a bonus though. It's not her paycheck. Paycheck is cool. But she got bonus. I say it's both.
Starting point is 00:09:59 both of the people's money. If they share funds. If they share funds. Interesting. I mean, it's a tough, it's a tough thing because I think the paycheck, sure, it depends how your family's all structured, whatever, financially.
Starting point is 00:10:11 But with a bonus like that, it's almost treat yourself, you know? Like, hey, we could really use this bonus to pay the four-wheeler payment. Who knows? I don't know. My only point is, if you go into it with this going,
Starting point is 00:10:22 I got this bonus, I've been really looking at this. I think I want to get it. Is that cool with you? He's more likely going to say yes to that. He probably will. Then just to go generically like, I got a bonus, I want to just spend it on me. Who knows what I want, but I want to do me.
Starting point is 00:10:35 So we all think it should be for you. You just said you're not hurting for money. So go, pitch. Maybe you have a hundred bucks left on it. Then you go to a nice dinner or something. If she wants. Yes, if she wants. If you want.
Starting point is 00:10:45 I was with a friend last weekend that used to have a stack-o cash, she would call it. And it's because she would do side jobs where she would get paid in cash. And she would just kind of keep that cash until it stacked up. And then she would, that's what she would. she would use to like go shopping. I don't know. I've heard a side job to Staxe-Cash. But it's what she would call money
Starting point is 00:11:06 that she didn't need to report necessarily to her husband as to what she was doing with her Staxe-O-Cash. And he never knew. Well, I don't think so. Yeah, that business, what she was doing has gone away. He never knew about how it came up.
Starting point is 00:11:20 No, it was totally legit. Thank you for your email. Have at it. Let us know what happens. Give us the update. We've got your email, When we read it on the air Now it's time to close
Starting point is 00:11:31 Bobby's mailbag Yeah Mailbag at bobbybones.com If you want to send us an email Fun fact Friday Let's go It's time for the five Most Fun Facts of the Week
Starting point is 00:11:44 As Found and curated by Amy Number five So the black lines on the side of school buses They show where the floor line is And where the seat lines are inside So that way if there's an accident firefighters know where to cut in.
Starting point is 00:12:00 Wow. Isn't that wild? I had no idea. It's like the Red Solo Cup. There's a line to show you where to put a shot, and there's a line where to show you where to fill up a beer. No way. Didn't know that either.
Starting point is 00:12:11 I mean, not exactly the same. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But still something I learned and was like, well, how about that? Mm-hmm. One ounce, five ounce, 12 ounce. Very cool. I didn't know the bus thing, though. That's cool.
Starting point is 00:12:20 Number four. So the voices of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, they got married in real life. Isn't that cool? I would have assumed maybe that was the same voice. Hi, I'm Mickey. Hi, I'm Minnie. Oh, yeah. Oh, no. It's two people that were the voices, and then they got married.
Starting point is 00:12:36 Is that how they met? Or are they going together as a boyfriend and girlfriend? Do they dress as Mickey and Minnie at their wedding? Well, I don't know, guys. Don't ask me too many questions. Are they dead now? I just think it's super cute. Yeah, they are, Mike. Amy knows no follow-ups. She hates my head her with follow-ups. No, one of them died in 2009, and the other one died in 2019. So these were the originals. So I actually do know when they died.
Starting point is 00:12:55 I heard she, after he died, she married Donald Ducks. No. Or goofy? Jerry. Number three. You can hear a blue whale's heartbeat from more than two miles away. Wow. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:13:11 Are you short? Like normal humans can? Boom, bum. No, I know what do it sound like. Why? Thanks, Amy. I don't even know that's accurate. I don't like a human heart.
Starting point is 00:13:19 I bought it. All right, next. Number two. Bobby, you're not going to like this. Kissing someone on the cheek makes you less likely to get sick than shaking their hand. Let's do it. So it's actually... Kissing someone on the cheek.
Starting point is 00:13:32 Let me think about this. Let me think of kissing someone on the cheek makes you less likely. I get that because all the germs aren't on the cheek as it would be hand. That's probably why the French do that. We laugh at them, but they're probably cleaner and healthier than we are. That does make sense. I don't like a handshake. I know now the big thing is I still shake hands.
Starting point is 00:13:50 I don't care about COVID. I hate a shaking hands before COVID. Let's start kissing. No? Lunchbox kisses his parents on the mouth still. I did. I kissed my parents on the mouth. No problem.
Starting point is 00:13:59 Not a big deal. All right. Here we go. Number one. Number one. So there's a scientist in Antarctica and he tried to murder one of his coworkers because he kept spoiling the ends of books that he wanted to read.
Starting point is 00:14:10 It's the first arrest for attempted murder ever in Antarctica. People live in Antarctica? Well, they weren't there. Scientists. Oh, wow. Yeah. What books? Dude, like, if they were hungry,
Starting point is 00:14:25 I'd be ticked about your hunger games. And if they don't have cable, all they have's books. Yeah, no, I mean, this is, like, important stuff to him. And you bet this. It's not. They shouldn't be murdering. We're trying to, like, go, you know, I get it. Right, you shouldn't be trying to murder.
Starting point is 00:14:35 Well, some reports suggest alcohol, well, it's involved. Yeah, I think so. How do they get stuff down there anyway? Ship it. Airplane? Same way humans get there. They put in their backpack and they take it with them. Fun Fat Friday.
Starting point is 00:14:49 Yay! It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me. Something good. So this mom is at the grocery store with her baby, and all of a sudden her baby's nose starts bleeding, like gushing, and she starts freaking out.
Starting point is 00:15:05 She doesn't know what to do. So she just went up to some random woman at the bakery part because she was the closest and was like, I need help. Well, guess what? That woman happened to be an ICU nurse. So they called 911, got EMS coming, but she was smart. She was like, we need to go do CPR and things. Let's go to the front of the store so that if EMS,
Starting point is 00:15:23 arrives, boom, we're right there waiting for them. And the nurse was able to do some CPR. The baby opened their eyes and EMTs arrived. They took over and everyone's going to be fine. How lucky are you that a nurse is there in the grocery store right next to when a baby's bleeding? No, and that's who you choose to go up to. Yeah, it's crazy. I wouldn't have had that sort of control.
Starting point is 00:15:42 I would have just started screaming. Can anybody help me? I wouldn't have went up to one single person. My baby's bleeding. And then I'd have taken my hands and took, you know, they had the orange pyramid of all the orange is built and had to put them all. pushed them all into the ground. You would have just made a mess of the whole produce.
Starting point is 00:15:55 Well, I need people to pay attention to me. Grab the watermelon, smash them. I'd have set up bunch of milk crates. I'd do a milk crate challenge. Anything to get people to watch me because my baby was hurting. Yeah, and I want to shout out the nurse. Her name is Binta Diallo.
Starting point is 00:16:07 Love it. That's what it's all about right there. That was Tell Me Something Good. I got a couple of voicemails and a caller I want to get to. Up first, hit number one. Hey, Bobby. My girlfriend, we recently have problems where She says that she needed to talk to me.
Starting point is 00:16:27 It's like she don't even want to talk to me. She don't want to hear from me or anything. The center takes messages to see how she's going, but she don't even reply. You know, she's not interested. Let her have her own time. I don't know why she wants to be alone, but the worst thing you can do when someone wants to be alone is not let them be alone. Because who knows, she may have to figure some stuff out and come back to? Probably not.
Starting point is 00:16:51 Sometimes she just wants to go be alone. Say, hey, I'm going to let you be alone. I'm going to check back with you in a week. And then we'll decide our fate. Heck, it may drive her crazy that you're like, yeah, go be alone. I think you need it. That's true, too. Let her be alone.
Starting point is 00:17:04 It's probably not going to work out. I'm going to give you, I don't know you, so it's easy for me to give you the hard truth. It's probably not going to work out. What do we all agree there? Yeah, probably. But let her be alone. It's hard to do, but chase that. All right, here we go.
Starting point is 00:17:17 Next voicemail. I work as a pizza delivery driver, and I need some advice. So one of my coworkers has been honestly slacking lately. As a driver, we're supposed to get the pizza from point A to point B. But then when we get back, we are still a pizza maker. We do the dishes. We make the dough. But he's doing none of it.
Starting point is 00:17:35 So basically, he's just making me and my other coworkers do it while he sits there on his phone. And I brought this up to management. They've told him about it. And he still hasn't done it. I need to know what to do. Should I go to him directly and tell him that's bothering us? Or should I just go back to management who, once again, already told him something. And he's still not doing it.
Starting point is 00:17:51 It's weird because it's now it's hard to fire people. Yeah, because help is hard to find. Not only that, it's also hard to fire people for HR reasons, right? Oh, I thought you know. It's just harder to fire people these days, period. Yeah, but then having people actually show up to work is difficult. That's the second part of it too. This is what I would do.
Starting point is 00:18:10 If your whole group is upset, you approach them as your group now. Because it didn't work when you said what up. If you and Frankie and, you know, Willie Boy, Tonka Truck, all you guys get together. Oh, wow. Tonka truck's a big dude. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All the drivers. You all get together and go, hey, stop.
Starting point is 00:18:25 you're killing us here. And then if he doesn't, still, you go back to management again. And if they do nothing, you can do nothing. You just have to understand that it now sucks for you. That's life. There's a cookie. And that's the way it crumbles. I was wondering where you're going with that.
Starting point is 00:18:40 It's good. I like that. That's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. Sometimes in life you just have to do more work than other people. Eventually, he'll phase himself out. Let's be real. We do that here sometimes. There's a cookie.
Starting point is 00:18:50 What? Let's go over to Sierra in which is. who was on the phone. Hi, Sierra, thank you for calling. Hi, hi, good morning studio. Morning. What's going on? Yeah, I just wanted to call and tell you all. I'm super excited for Bobby Fest next weekend. This will technically be my second time seeing you guys, and I'll be at the Wichita show at Wave, about seven months pregnant, and my boyfriend and I absolutely can't wait.
Starting point is 00:19:16 Thank you. So that's next Sunday, but Monday's a holiday. It's Labor Day, so don't worry about Sunday being out late. But we're doing two shows, Saturday in New Brambles, Texas, Sunday in Wichita, Kansas. We have like 10 acts, two stages. We've never done anything like this before. We're risking it. I'm risking money on this because I wanted to put on a festival. But I made sure it was outside.
Starting point is 00:19:34 You can be safe. Raging Idiots are playing. Get tickets at Raging Idiots.com. Now, you say you've seen me before or the Raging Idiots before? So I saw, I think it was the Raging Idiots. I was at the Dam Music Festival about four years ago in El Dorado, Kansas. Yeah. Did you have fun?
Starting point is 00:19:52 Oh, yeah. Well, at that time, I wasn't pregnant. So it was a great. Well, hold on to your pregnancy pants because you're about to see a show. It's us and Russell Dickerson and Maddie and Tay. And it's just going to be great. Oh, I can't wait to see you. I'll look for the pregnant lady in the crowd.
Starting point is 00:20:08 Awesome. Thank you for calling. We're very nervous. We're very nervous. We've sold a lot of tickets, but they keep going, hey, because the pandemic, ticket sells it. Nowhere are good. And we're doing pretty good, actually.
Starting point is 00:20:18 But we still have some more to sell. So we'd love for you guys to come. Get them at Ragingidiotes.com. I'll play one of our hits. It went to number 13 in Bangladesh. Oh, yeah. This is the Target song. It's live.
Starting point is 00:20:28 It's about something that happened unfortunate in my life. Check it out. Yesterday's show, we talked about Eddie who saw an accident, but he saw both people get out. And he went, well, they looked fine.
Starting point is 00:20:39 Right? Yeah, they seemed fine. They walked out, looked at their cars. You just drove off. Yeah, and I felt like I didn't need to call the cops. And so just talking in the room, we were like, hey, you could have been a witness,
Starting point is 00:20:47 if they were arguing about whose fault it was, maybe somebody was hurt and scared. Who knows? We do have on the phone right now, Trooper Martin, Oh, is he calling to give Eddie a ticket? For being a coward? Coward of the county.
Starting point is 00:21:01 Trooper Martin. You're on the air, Trooper Martin. What would you like to say about this situation? If you witness the crash, you don't want to put yourself for others in danger as far as, like, running across traffic, you know, checking on, making, or trying to check on someone. Yes, if you need, if it's a pretty bad crash, pull over when it's safe and do so by all means. And go check on the parties and then call, you know, 9-1-1 or do it. do it in the process of while you're doing that, kind of all in one thing. But as far as like a small fender bender where no one's really heard,
Starting point is 00:21:32 and I've heard of the story of, you know, you got out there walking around, if you're pressed for time or you're going to work and you're like, hey, I can't stick around 30, 45 minutes to wait on the police to get here. There's nothing wrong with leaving your name and your number. Giving it to both parties, though, in case, you know, one at fault wants to get rid of your information, give it to both parties. That way they can give that to the law enforcement when they get there. And then they're A, they can call you on the phone, ask, hey, what did you see?
Starting point is 00:22:00 Or number two, they can just go by your call you and say, hey, are you at work? Can I come talk to you for about five minutes and get, you know, what you saw in the crash? Because oftentimes, if there's no skid marks or douch marks or anything like that, sometimes it is a he-said she-smith thing. And it's very unfortunate because there are, you know, people that lie out there, obviously. and it's up to us to figure out the truth. And that's what we want to do. We want to know what truth happened, or I guess, what really happens.
Starting point is 00:22:29 Is there any chance you can ticket Eddie for not? I'm just asking him. Lunchbox that should suggest that Eddie should get a ticket as a way for the rest of our listeners to know if they do this, it's wrong. A coward citation. Yeah, yeah. You're talking about if they leave the same? We're talking about Eddie specifically. Is there a coward of the county ticket?
Starting point is 00:22:48 No, I'm sure you can try to figure out something. You know, Cesar's taggers' poders. Wait, what? Officer, we appreciate you. Thank you because I think that's good for a lot of people just to know straight up. So appreciate your time. Thank you for what you do. Like, we, for sure, back to blue here.
Starting point is 00:23:07 So thank you. And I hope you have a great day. Thanks. I appreciate you guys. All right, there he is. Trooper Martin dropping the knowledge. Man, I just never even thought about the whole being a witness thing. I just was calling the cops to get ambulance.
Starting point is 00:23:18 there. I mean, so that opens my eyes to that. I think it opens a lot of people's eyes. Yeah, it's good to know. Here's Amy's pile of stories. So I've got the highest paid TV stars, and I thought this story could also just maybe give us some shows we need to check out, because the people that are making a ton of money,
Starting point is 00:23:34 I don't watch these shows. Are they making a per season or per episode? Per episode. Oh, I like these. Okay, give me the top five. Okay. In it number five, Steve Martin is making $600,000 per episode for a show called Only Murders in the Building. Have seen previews? It has like one of Salina Gomez people in it? Okay.
Starting point is 00:23:50 Is it Selena Gomez that's in it or is it the other one? Who's the other Selena Gomez? There's like Victoria Justice. There's a lot of them that I get confused. It's Selena Gomez. It's the actual one. Go ahead. And then Sex and the City stars are making 750K per episode.
Starting point is 00:24:06 Brian Cranston is making $750,000 for your honor, which I've seen a few people post about this. I don't know what that is. Me neither. Does you do meth? We might need to check it out. No, but if not, I don't want to want to. Okay.
Starting point is 00:24:18 Bridges is making $1 million for Fox or FX on Hulu's the Old Man. He makes a million bucks an episode for? Yes. Wow. All right. And then Chris Pratt is making $1.4 million per episode for the terminal list on Amazon. I don't know what that. Maybe it's not out yet.
Starting point is 00:24:36 Maybe those shows aren't out yet. No, no, your honor's out because I've seen people post about it and I've seen Brian Cranston's face. Well, are they making any of that money off me because I don't know any of those shows, really. Yeah. All right, what else? Okay, so this is just a PSA friendly reminder. to carry bear spray with you
Starting point is 00:24:50 because this man was attacked by a grizzly bear. Where was he though? He couldn't have been in Austin, Texas. Denali National Park. What state is that? Denali National, where's Denali National Park? Probably like Alaska. Wyoming. Where is it?
Starting point is 00:25:04 Alaska. Well, there you go. Because the Denali, I think the mountain is there. But a little, two cubs are the ones that charged after him. But luckily he had the bear spray and then he was able to get away, then had to hike 1.5 miles to safety. But I just think it's a good reminder.
Starting point is 00:25:19 Keep that with you if you're out in the wild. And you don't shoot it in the bear's face. You shoot it at the ground and the bear doesn't run through it. That's good advice. I learned that in Wyoming. Breaking Bobby Bones, the episode where I'm hunting off people from these animals from sheep. You see that.
Starting point is 00:25:31 All right, and? Okay, what food would you like to come back, like, at a certain restaurant that maybe you loved and it disappeared? Because, simply because of Walker Hayes' fancy, like, Applebee's brought back the Oreo shake. Um, nothing I can think of. I just stopped going places, so I don't ever wish it would come back.
Starting point is 00:25:50 I don't know. Do you guys have anything you want to bring back? I miss Grandies, fried chicken. Remember Grandies? Oh, is that like a specific place? It was a place that just went out of business, probably like 20 years ago. Their fried chicken was great. I mean, I missed the yum yum shop being open to Mountain Pine.
Starting point is 00:26:03 Oh, the other is that. That's what I did. Good for Walker Hayes making some money off Appleby's. I know. It's so amazing. And Lachfoy still thinks he's more famous than Walker Hayes and can be... Yes, absolutely. Just because he has one...
Starting point is 00:26:13 I mean, just because you have one song doesn't mean people know who you are. You always tell me that. Yeah, but your face is viral on the internet. And you're on TV commercials. And the news? Yeah. You're all over the place. Samsung has blown people's minds with foldable phones.
Starting point is 00:26:25 I don't know if you guys have seen this. Samsung is the leader in innovation. These phones are next level. First, there's the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3.5G. It folds into a sleek phone. Unfolds into a slim tablet. Yeah, that's right. It even has two screens.

There's also the ultra-compact Galaxy Z Flip 3-5G, flashy design, cool colors. It is a flip phone reimagined. It closes perfectly. Put it in your pocket, palm of your hand.
Starting point is 00:26:55 Both phones, flip, flex, and stand on their own. You'll be able to take hands-free selfies, group shots, or videos. Now, the best part they're officially out, you can order your Galaxy Z Fold 3-5G. And your Galaxy Z Flip 3-5G right now. Go to Samsung.com. 5G connection and availability. May vary. Check with Carrier.
Starting point is 00:27:11 Those things do look pretty cool, though. All right, that's it. I'm Amy. That's my file. That was Amy's pile of stories. Starting point is 00:31:30 It's time for the good news. With lunchbox. Tell me something good. Johnny Garcia was in his New Mexico home watching some TV when he hears police running by yelling. Police freeze! And then all of a sudden he hears, five, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam. 20 gunshots ring out. And one cop runs back.
Starting point is 00:31:52 And he's like, well, where's the other cop? And he looks over the wall behind his house. And the cop had been shot. And he needed a tourniquet. So Johnny jumps over the wall, puts a tourniquet, and drags him out to the street. Wow. So the ambulance arrives and scoops him up. So dude was just chilling.
Starting point is 00:32:08 Just chilling watching TV. And he said, man, I couldn't just leave him there. So he hopped the wall, saved him. Here's him talking about it. I couldn't leave him there. He's an officer of the law. And I could not do that. So I had to assist him to make sure he was okay.
Starting point is 00:32:25 Did he have any experience in tourniquets? Because that's not something. I mean, I think I go, okay, I'm going to call 911. But unless I know how to do the tourniquet, I probably don't immediately go to that unless the cop goes, hey, will you tie me off? Yeah. I mean, the other cop was yelling, I need a tourniquet, so he just went out there.
Starting point is 00:32:40 Dang. That's a great story. That's, like, heavy good. I keep tourniquets in my car, you guys? Who what? On my belt. Oh, I have, like, actual... Sure.
Starting point is 00:32:50 Like, legit tourniquets in my glove box. That's cool. What is a legit tourniquet? Like, what do you mean by it? I don't know what that means. I don't know. It's like a... It's what's made for.
Starting point is 00:32:59 It's not, like, using an item, like, a tie or a belt. It's like a rope-type thing, and it's made to just latch on... and turnicit, whatever needs to be tourniqueted. I got like three Laffy Taffy's in my car right now. I got a lot of things on my car. I don't have a tourniquet, though. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:14 That's a good story. That is what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. Cain Brown, coming up in about 10 minutes here on the Bobby Bone show. Let's go over to Amy and get in The Morning Corny. The Morning Corny! I've started telling people about the benefits of dried grapes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:33:33 Yeah. It's all about raisin awareness. Raisin. Raisin. Raisin. That was the morning corny. I heard lunchbox talking because I guess you had got on the IHeart radio app.
Starting point is 00:33:48 Yeah, got on on the Iheart radio app. And he's on, he goes, it blew my mind. What? What blew your mind? He hadn't been on it? No, I'd been on it before. But I learned that you can now, if you just type in like Zach Brown band,
Starting point is 00:34:02 you don't have to only listen to Zach Brown music. They'll play you, Zach Brown, and then they'll play artists similar to him, and then they'll go back to Zach Brown, instead of just listening to Zach Brown. I had no idea. So whenever I go on there, I always just play, like, Zach Brown, Chris Stapleton.
Starting point is 00:34:17 So I listen to a whole album or just that artist. But now you can do different artists. It's like, what do you call that, a shuffle? Incredible. I got a text. It's from 2016. They say, it says Lunchbox just heard about us?
Starting point is 00:34:32 No, no. I've known about I Heart Radio app, but I know. But that's been happening for a while. That's what they do. I mean, guys, pretty cool. So you're not stuck on one artist just for hours and hours. You can just, it'll shuffle it.
Starting point is 00:34:45 So what would you like to say to our listeners? Listen, guys, if you want to just a variety of music, go to the IHeart radio app and whatever artist you like. Like if it's Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Casey Musgraze, Kelsey Ballerini, I mean. Any of them, we get it. It'll give you to buy. Anybody over you in the top 25.
Starting point is 00:35:01 Keith Irvin, yeah. You just type in their name and you get, boom. A playlist. Incredible. You heard it here? Wow. Wow, wow, wow. Maybe some people didn't know. No, I think some people don't, but I think people who work here. Should know.
Starting point is 00:35:14 Yeah. Because we've been kind of... No, no, I understand we promote the app, but I thought you had to listen to that artist just over and over and over. There you go. Nice. Good job, Lime. Pretty cool. All right. I saw this meme.
Starting point is 00:35:29 It said, you're on a first date with someone. And they tell you the name of their favorite show. You immediately leave. What was the show that made you leave? Lunchbox. The Big Bang Theory. Really? It's not funny.
Starting point is 00:35:44 I watch it and the jokes aren't funny. I've sat there for three episodes in a row and they are just so corny and dumb. It's like I'm listening to the morning corny over and over and over again. I'm like, this is it. If you like that show, I'm out. I like it.
Starting point is 00:35:57 I think I was a hater at first, but the more I watched it, I laugh. I laugh a little bit. Yeah, I don't hate that. Big Bang Theory. I don't search it out. Sometimes if I'm on a plane and I'm flying,
Starting point is 00:36:08 they have a little TV on, that'll be one of the only shows I can watch. I don't want to stab myself in the eyes. I watch it. But okay, Big Bang Theory. Amy? Beavis and Butthead. Did you ever watch that show?
Starting point is 00:36:18 No. Oh, it's so good. It's awesome. Beavis and But it's one of the greatest ones. I mean, it's got to be good because it's like the longest running whatever. But if they were like, oh, this is my favorite show and I had to like...
Starting point is 00:36:27 Are you thinking about the Simpsons? Because Beavis and Butthead didn't run a long time. Oh, then I'm thinking about symptoms. Either way, Beavis and Butthead probably, because I don't, if that's what they want to watch every night, like before bed, I can't see myself having to deal with that. I would go 16 a pregnant or teen mom. Dang, that was mine too. That's tough.
Starting point is 00:36:43 And I watched 16 to pregnant. I was like, I don't feel good about this, enjoying this. But what does it say about a person that likes that kind of show? Well, it's Lunchbox's favorite show. Let's ask him. It says that I'm a well-rounded human that likes to see people, you know, overcome adversity and see what life is like at 16 and struggling when you're pregnant. It's weird to me. I try.
Starting point is 00:37:02 You're not your good show. Who's watching Lost? Oh, I am. Yeah. Are you still going? Well, we are, we're, it's like something we're doing as a family activity, so it's going to take a while. But we made it four episodes, and like, I need to know what happens. I'll give up.
Starting point is 00:37:15 Yeah. That would be one of those shows you walk out. No. What? I've heard it's so good. So you're going to keep watching Lost. TBD, but yeah, the plan is to keep going. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:27 Okay, so making sure. Let us know. Yeah, I will. Update us. I will. Ray, you have a show. You don't like, you hate. Malcolm in the middle.
Starting point is 00:37:34 Oh, that was so good. That's good. That's good. Such a funny show. You're walking out on a girl that says Malcolm in the middle. Yeah, it's a weird sense of humor. Oh, Frankie Munez, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:43 It's creepy, too. You're not the boss of me. He was a kid. Who likes a show like that? I did. I thought it was good. The Friday morning conversation with King Brown. How you doing, man?
Starting point is 00:37:54 I don't know. Great. How are you doing? Good. I was watching you this past weekend. I was watching the New York show where artists got on stage. It was like, welcome back New York. And they were like, Kane Brown, you walk out and you had some kind of wolves, some like wolves on the back of your shirt.
Starting point is 00:38:07 Yeah, it's a Kaiser Clark. It was bad because I was so late for the airplane that I just grabbed my show suitcase. And all I had was cut off T-shirts. I like the shirt. That was my point. I was like, hey, I like the shirt you're wearing up there. Kaiser Clark. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:21 Was that a pretty cool event? Because it seemed like there are a lot of, like, massive stars backstage just hanging out. Yeah. But we stayed in a tent with like six other artists. and then I forgot the guy's name, but the huge opera singer. Oh, yeah. He's blind? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:39 What's his name? Andrew. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Andrew Pricelli. Yeah. So you met him? Well, I didn't meet him, but we heard him from, you know, like five tents over, and then he loves to warm up and warm weather.
Starting point is 00:38:53 It was already like 90 degrees outside, so they turned off all the air conditioning for the tent. So you had so many artists complaining, and they were just, just like, well, he's the first one that goes on. So it was like 105 degrees in there. So Bichelli made everybody else sweat. Yeah, it was bad. That dude gets up. I saw Cainel was going to be out.
Starting point is 00:39:11 So we're watching the concert. And he, Bacheli then pulls out a flute. Yeah. And he starts playing the, he's like, oh! And he pulls out a flute. Like, what does this guy not do? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:22 And then, well, it's good to see you again. I see, I also saw you had that new family hat on. Is that like a new color? Yeah, we got like six or seven different colors. and we went with a corduroy. I felt like it was more like designer. But I see you rocking the miracle hats and my boy's the same one that does all of it.
Starting point is 00:39:39 He sent... Oh, you're right over there, Amy? Fine, thank you. Yeah, he sent me Miracle and he sent a couple family hats and I was going to wear the family one, but I was like, I don't want Kane thinking I'm like stealing his brand.
Starting point is 00:39:51 No, I would have posted you. I'd been like, hey, Bobby's rocking it. I was going to bring you one today, but I only had the samples. I was like, I could give him a sample. Next time. Yeah, I got you. We have a kid on now. Ray, can you turn this kid off for a second?
Starting point is 00:40:03 I don't have a name. What's the kid's name? Lexi. Lexi, are you there? Yes. How are you? Good. You're on with Kane Brown. Would you like to say hi to Kane? Yes.
Starting point is 00:40:18 Do that. Say hi to him. Hi. Hi, Lexi. How you doing? Good. Lexi, do you feel like you know a lot about Kane Brown? Yes. Your mom called and said you're Kane's biggest fan,
Starting point is 00:40:34 so I thought we'd ask you some questions and ask Kane the same questions about Kane, and we see who knows the most, okay? Okay. Okay. What color hat is Kane Brown wearing in his Heaven music video? Okay, you can't Google it right now, Lexie. Can you repeat that?
Starting point is 00:40:52 Sure. What color hat is Kane wearing in the Heaven music video? Black. That is incorrect. I was going to say it was right Okay The answer is why That's okay
Starting point is 00:41:06 Let's try another one What is Kane's most streamed song Heaven You know I like Lexi But she's wrong again Yeah I know I gotta tell a nine year old She's wrong over and over again
Starting point is 00:41:15 Okay okay What is Kane's wedding anniversary October 12th That's correct right Look at this alright That's good That's good all right Okay
Starting point is 00:41:29 If you get this next one We'll give you a prize okay. Kane Brown won a talent show in the 11th grade by singing what country song. All right, Lexi, we try, we try, we're getting it. That's all right. She called us and said she was your biggest fan,
Starting point is 00:41:49 and she may be, but these may be tough questions for her. He's saying, getting you home by Chris Young. Did you know that, Lexi? Yes. Or her mom. All right, Lexi, we're going to get you something anyway, okay? So thank you for, thanks for calling in, all right? Okay.
Starting point is 00:42:06 All right, we tried. We tried, Lexi, we tried hard. I was talking to Shy Carter recently, and he said that, you know, you guys had, like, done a writer's house, and you guys were all hanging out. Yeah. And that they were downstairs, and they were riding heaven, and you were upstairs, and you came down. And he was like, we finished it. And I said, and it was a compliment to you. I said, and Kane didn't ask to, like, hop in and write a line, even to get credit.
Starting point is 00:42:32 And he said, no, he didn't. He said, you guys wrote that song, you know, that's a song we're going to do. I thought that was really cool of you not to go down because a lot of artists would actually do that. Yeah, well, I found out that you could do that after. But it's something for me. I try to be nice because that's their job. So I don't want to take, you know, you're taking a percentage of that.
Starting point is 00:42:52 So that's why I started a publishing company. So now if I'm not in the room, still get a piece. Yeah, he said that you were upstairs writing a different song. You guys had all been, you gathered some really good writers together. Yeah. It's all right. And then you came down and you were like, oh, cool, I like that song. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:06 And so, dang. Is there, when you cut that song, when you cut a song that you don't write because you do write so much, are you ever, do you ever just want to write songs that you cut? Is it ever 50-50? And you're like, well, since I wrote this one, I think I'm going to go with that. No, to me it's just the better, whatever the song, the better the song. It is harder to talk about it because you just got to talk about how it takes you away as a song. But, I mean, I would prefer to be a writer, you know. You still writing a lot?
Starting point is 00:43:34 Yeah, we've been. I've got so many songs for the album that I was supposed to be releasing. And I just keep second guessing myself and keep trying to outright what I've already had. It's been brutal. I think I credit everyone posting their snippets of songs on Instagram now because everybody does it. But I credit that culture to you. Oh, thank you. Do you credit that culture to you?
Starting point is 00:43:57 I don't take credit. Okay, I'm going to credit you. And here's why you were the first one to openly go. We just wrote this song on posted here. Yeah. Work tape. Check it out. Well, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:44:05 It's just, I don't know. I don't ever pat myself on the back. I'll do some padding for you because everybody does that and I like it. And sometimes the songs don't make, heck, most of the times the songs don't make a record. But people are still putting them out. You ever do one of those and people go up and request it? Like, Kane, play this song.
Starting point is 00:44:23 You're like, well, I never actually released it. No, people, they'll ask me, like, when are you going to release this song? And I feel bad sometimes because I'm like, that song's never getting released. But, like, I have one song that I released five years. years ago that I know I'm going to release it. It's going to be the opening of our new tour. And like I said, I teased it five years ago and it's about to come out.
Starting point is 00:44:43 You've been holding a song for five years? Why haven't you cut it yet? We just didn't think it was, I mean, I just didn't think that it was going to make it. It blew up on my Facebook whenever I was doing all the Facebook stuff. It was a huge song for my Facebook. I just never released it. How many songs are you sitting on right now for this new album? We have nine that's cut. I want to do like 15 or 16 songs for that album. How many written?
Starting point is 00:45:11 45 or 50. But then what happens to all those songs? They just sit there. Maybe five years from now or at least one. But they just sit there. Do you make them available to other people? Like will you pitch them out to other artists? Yeah, if another artist came and cut it.
Starting point is 00:45:27 But usually the industry is kind of weird because if you come in as an artist but you're already a writer, then people will usually be like, okay, I'm going to take the song because they know you as a writer. If you're not considered as a writer before and you don't have many cuts, they're usually like, well, if he didn't want to cut this song, then why should I cut this song?
Starting point is 00:45:50 Isn't there a little bit of clout, though, to go, like somebody comes in for an interview? They're like, you know, I didn't write it, but Kane Brown wrote it. Like, doesn't that kind of make the song cooler? What do you think? I don't know. What do you think?
Starting point is 00:46:03 I was, no. Yeah, I mean, I think it's a talking point. point. This song won Mississippi. So tell me the story about the guy that you kind of brought in to write it with you. Yeah. So I felt like this kind of just like it was cool. His name's LeVon Gray. Lived down in Alabama. He drives seven hours here every time he comes now. But he messes me on Instagram. He tagged me, Blanco, and Jimmy Allen of him singing. And he reminds me a lot of Blanco Brown, his voice. And so I told him, I was like, hey man I'm starting a publishing company would you want to come up and just write a song with me and see if you could fit in and
Starting point is 00:46:41 he was like yeah I love it so we got him up I text jesse frazier and earnest to see if they wanted to write and jump in the room with me and I told him I was like man I'm going to let you kind of take the reins and just see how you would do in the room so he came in he brought the title him and earnest just started going back and forth they were just getting my opinion yes or no and we got the song and then after uh sony heard it and we showed it to a few radio people that were like this should be your next single. For me, I was kind of nervous because I was like, this is my third album that's about to come out. Like I want to pick the song that represents it, which I had a song called, what was, is it, leave you, don't, my love won't leave you alone. That's the one I wanted to release as my first
Starting point is 00:47:27 single, but it's kind of a slow ballad. So when we heard that radio loved it, I just thought to myself was like, man, I could possibly change this dude's life by just putting this one single out there. And then everybody just started telling me they loved it. And then now me performing it for our rehearsals, I've grown to love it even more. It's huge life, so I can't wait for them to hear it. So did you like the guy as a writer? Yeah, yeah. Is it going to work with you anymore? Yeah, we signed him. You did sign them? Yeah. I don't want to ask that straight up, and you'd be like, nah, we didn't sign them. Yeah. That's so cool. For our listeners, what does that mean to own a publishing company?
Starting point is 00:48:05 It just means that I can give other opportunities to people. Like, if you like to write songs or if you can tell stories, especially in country music, you have a chance to move to Nashville and you just get paid to write songs. I saw you on the Home Edit Show. Those are our friends that do Home Edid. Yeah. You know, we know both of them. Is your house still that organized?
Starting point is 00:48:27 Only because Caitlin. Without me, it wouldn't have been. I know I look so, I'm so thrilled that they came out to our house because that was like her dream. But it was the pantry, so I know I look thrilled in the Netflix show. I was trying to be happy. But I was like, if you come back and do our closet, like you'll get some more enthusiasm out of me. You have a lot of shoes? I have a good amount of shoes, but I have more clothes than anything.
Starting point is 00:48:52 You do? Do you have to, my problem after, because some of the shows that I would work on would provide a wardrobe. And then I just got to keep it. I would never wear the stuff again, but it would stay in a closet. And so now I'm trying to kind of move some through and donate some of it. Do you have to move clothes in and out, or are you just keeping it all right now? Man, honestly, when I get something, it's hard for me to let it go. Are you a pack ride in general?
Starting point is 00:49:17 I am. My wife makes me, like, throw stuff away, and it's hard because, like, even yesterday, like, I have a, I wore a hogward shirt to a band rehearsal that I got from Universal. and everybody was surprised to see me in it, but I was like, it was cool with these pants and the shoes, but it's like, I don't know, I just find it eventually and throw it with something. Are you a Harry Potter guy?
Starting point is 00:49:39 No. Oh. No. No. I saw recently you had a kid up on stage with you. I think she was six at the North Dakota State Fair show. And when you do that, do you already know that they're going to be able to pull that off?
Starting point is 00:49:55 Or is that just kind of luck of the dice? I kind of trust them. And if they can, I just let them dance. I don't know, it's just something about kids. I can't say no to them. When I walked out, she was like second row with a big sign that said, let me sing what is with you. And it was, you know, 10 songs later.
Starting point is 00:50:09 But I was just like, okay. And then we started the song, and I remember it. I was like, oh, yeah. I pulled her up there. So she killed it. And she nailed it. Do you ever do that in the kid doesn't nail it? A couple of times.
Starting point is 00:50:19 You know, they'll be all talking there. And then when you get them on stage, they kind of just shrivel up. But I feel like I've kind of learned how to open them up a little. bit. I want to ask you, but when you walked in, I compared you to Captain America, because in Captain America, you have seen the movie? Yeah. Where he gets shot and then he gets huge, and then he's a nerd, you know, a little, little guy, and he's a massive suit. But you were never as small as that guy, but now you're massive. Like, you're completely ripped. So what was this
Starting point is 00:50:46 body transformation? Like, was it just, you got bored or were you just, like, what's, what's the deal here? I'm actually asking for just a friend. That's me. Yeah, I keep saying it, I keep, it's not throwing under the bus, but it was just a funny conversation because y'all know Granger Smith. When he comes out with Earl Dibbles and he takes his shirt off on stage, he's shredded. So we were at, it was the 4th of July,
Starting point is 00:51:11 and I was on my back porch with my wife and Ray Lynn, and we're all drinking, having a good time. We started talking about tour, and I don't know if you ever met Ray's mom, but she's as redneck as can get. And so she's sitting there and she's like, yeah when Granger would come out and he took his shirt off my mom was like oh loudie and then uh she was like and then you would come out and you would lift your shirt off and
Starting point is 00:51:36 I would just kind of laugh and my my wife kind of giggled and I was like oh no I was like just wait I'm gonna get I'm gonna get ripped for you so uh this whole whole year I've literally worked out six days a week with my security guard um and I just just been doing it and gator gator's been helping me out too every time we go play basketball. He's like, man, you're getting bigger. I was like, thanks. Are you doing like protein stuff or are you just working it? I was. I was doing that weight protein. Comes with like 1,800 calories for each shake.
Starting point is 00:52:08 But I just got tired of making it. So I started eating whatever. Are you going to let this, are you going to keep this physique or now that you've done it? No. I'm cool. So I started out at 180 and now I'm at like 195, 198. I'm trying to get to like 215. you're going to put on another 18 pounds I'm trying to geez
Starting point is 00:52:27 I don't like even Granger Smith is not so do if Raylin's mom goes All righty to you Will you stop Like is that what we need
Starting point is 00:52:38 Do we just need her to come in And go Oh Lordy And no No no I just I don't know It's just a thing That I like to do now
Starting point is 00:52:44 But I got my security guard That goes with me Every day too And I'm some of my best friends So it's just It's easy to go When you have people To go with you
Starting point is 00:52:51 You have a place At your house You work out you go to a gym? We used to, and then now we go to Planet Fitness of all places. I'm putting a gym in at the house, though. People don't bother you at Planet Fitness? I go so much, they're used to it.
Starting point is 00:53:04 They just say, what's up, Kane? I'm like, what's up, man? So I had one girl, when I was wearing my converse is on the ACM, she came up and just told me my whole outfit. And she was like, you got to take those converts off and put on some cowboy boots. Well, listen, man, it's good to see you again. Amy, anything for Kane?
Starting point is 00:53:21 I'm still trying to understand how he's going to get to 2.15. he's going to. I got to eat. I don't eat at all. Like, I was, I was in bed yesterday thinking of, like, what I ate, and I had a bowl of cereal. And then I went, um, and got dinner last night because we were at rehearsals. They messed up my burger. So I literally had cereal, french fries and macaron. Yeah. Because like the, the rock, or you hear of these people and what they have to consume to maintain that muscle mass. Like you're going to have to. I can eat it if it's in front of me, but if it's not in front of me, I don't have to eat. Like I just, you know. When you're doing these rehearsals, you're showing. You're showing. You're is so big now, it's not just songs you're rehearsing, it's stage too, right? Like with lights and Yeah, yeah. So for me though, like when I watch other artists, they're doing a full show like there's people out there. I cannot do it. Like I can't turn it on. Like I have to have the fans out there and then I just kind of wing it. But I know where not to go if the fire comes up and things like that. So that's just why I try and focus on it. So that's what you're doing is fire comes up here at this song. Don't stand over here. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:24 That's got to be a pretty cool moment in your career, though, when you can start to afford fire, though. Yeah, this is the biggest show that we've had. Like, I'm so excited for this tour. I've never been excited as I am right now for a tour. And you haven't accidentally been over near the fire. You're not too worried that you're going to be so caught up, like grabbing a six-year-old offstage that she gets caught in the fire. I'm just where I'm just seeing, okay. Yeah, just got to remember not to wear too much hair spray.
Starting point is 00:54:48 All right, Kane Brown. New song, One, Mississippi. It's good to see you as always. Yes, sir. Yeah, keep killing it. And we'll see you soon. We'll talk to you soon. Yeah, man, thanks for having me.

Tell me something good. All right, this will make you feel good. A retired World War II vet who had worked every day up until COVID was honored on his
Starting point is 00:58:38 100th birthday by his former employer, Stop and Shop. By the way, just to live to 100? Amazing. And to also serve and still be alive, the company wanted to thank Benny, not only for a service to the country, but for his dedication to their store because he worked there for over a decade. He was driven to his former store safely, and there was a humongous surprise party, family members, friends, former associates that had worked with him the entire time, a patriotic singing group, and even a cake. They even had a veteran's only parking spot put up in his honor.
Starting point is 00:59:11 That's awesome. Benny's spot will give veterans easy access to the store. It says, in honor of Benny for a service to this store in the country. That's a pretty good one, huh? Yeah. Benny Spots pretty cool, too. It'll always be up there. That's awesome. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. A guy who's 61 has played the same lottery numbers for 30 years, same exact one.
Starting point is 00:59:34 30 years hasn't won until he hit it for $18 million. Oh, yes. That is awesome. He hit it for $18 million. And you guys say that it's a bad investment. Well, it is. No, he paid. Listen, he probably lost in that 18 years, he probably lost maybe $100,000.
Starting point is 00:59:50 But guess what? But you understand one doesn't affect the other. This could have happened to him day one. Fones, how many times you told him this? It doesn't matter. A 61-year-old man won $18.4 million. He's played the same numbers for 30 years. 0305, 10, 20, 28, and 31.
Starting point is 01:00:07 He says, quote, I've been playing the same number since 1991. Wow. That's amazing. Almost never missed a drawing. Lunchbox, do you, what is your strategy? Because you love the, but what is it? It's just random. I just do quick picks because if I do.
Starting point is 01:00:20 do miss a drawing and those numbers hit, then I'd have to find a bridge. And so I don't want to go to that level. Bridge. To jump off of. Oh, Oh, my gosh. Wow.
Starting point is 01:00:30 Is that what he meant? Yeah, that's exactly what I meant. To buy it? Well, I don't know. I was like, is there like some... No, that's exactly what would happen. If you play the same numbers over and over and over again,
Starting point is 01:00:40 and then you forget one day and it would have hit for 50 million, you're going to find the nearest bridge. Scuba Steve also plays the lottery. Yeah. Has he won? I have won like a hundred bucks max is the most of every one But you're different than lunchbox or he does quick picks Yes I don't do that I've been playing the same numbers to the last five or six years
Starting point is 01:00:57 Reliiously twice a week Do you play scratch-offs? Not really I mean every once in a while for doing road trips I might do it But I'm pretty big on Powerball and Mega Millions You know Scoobes Steve's gonna win right? We all know Scoobes Steve's gonna win That's why I thought he was gonna come to the mic and be like yeah one time I won $500,000 because like he always just has these crazy stories
Starting point is 01:01:16 But like, how do you go to like the sit? To play weekly, I have to go to the gas station and pay cash for my ticket. Yeah. Every week. Yeah. Twice a week. I don't know. I mean, these guys make it sound fun.
Starting point is 01:01:29 It is. That's what it's supposed to be, only fun. You're not supposed to be winning. I know. I don't see it as an investment. A Kansas woman who decided to play one time to the mega millions. It was like, I'm going to be the first time ever playing. She won $20,000 bucks.
Starting point is 01:01:39 First time ever in. Boom. One time in? That is so ridiculous. Grand opening? It's great. closing. $20,000. And now she's got money to play with. She's going to keep playing.
Starting point is 01:01:50 Well, she'll probably get about $13,000 of that, and that pays a good set of bills. Gosh. That's not, it changes your life forever. It's like it digs you out of the hole a little bit. Yeah. When Eddie was talking about his debt, because you guys spent years getting out of debt. Yes, yes, yes. Your debt was more than that. My debt was way more than that. That probably would have covered less than half of our debt.
Starting point is 01:02:10 Did you say on the air what your debt was? I don't know if I ever did. I feel like... I feel like he did. I feel like he did. But you know what? Now, now I don't. I don't really even remember. It was so big and crazy and unreachable that I don't even remember. I'll say this. It was over $20,000. Yes. Of credit card debt, of every kind of debt. Yes. And you and your wife said, we're now focused on getting rid of this debt. And they did. And it took a couple years? A couple years. No, it took like 15 years. No, to really settle in. Like to focus. Oh, yes, yes. But I mean, really from the time when we started that credit card to when we paid it off, it was, what, 13 years, I think.
Starting point is 01:02:44 Here's what it said. You tweeted this on January 9th, 2020. At the start of last year, we were 20K in credit card debt. At the start of last year, you said that. At the start of last year, we were 20K in credit card. We made our final payment right before Christmas. We were debt-free. Crazy, crazy, crazy.
Starting point is 01:03:00 And then he kissed Dave Ramsey on the lips, and it was an amazing day for everybody. My wife just told you recently how much that interest was. Remember that? Yeah. It was like 20% interest. They were at the house and she was like her credit card was 20% interest. And all they were doing was pay. So they found a credit card that did.
Starting point is 01:03:14 zero percent, they could transfer it? Yeah. They did some smart stuff and they paid it all off. Man. Should have hit the lottery. Oh well. That wasn't an option. It was. It is always an option. It's a bad one.
Starting point is 01:03:27 Let's play Pick the Bit. Do you want Ray Mundo asking for advice? This bit's been passed over a day's. A week, basically. Or do you want Ramundo's been offered $200
Starting point is 01:03:39 to promote a product on Instagram, but there's a big problem. You get either one of those. It's tough. Yeah. Amy. Oh, Instagram. $200. What's the problem? I kind of want Ray's advice. I want to see what kind of advice he needs from us. It's not from you. Oh, it's not from you. No, what he wrote me, he said he wants to ask me. Oh, just you specifically. But it'll be helpful to a lot of people. I think it will be. I mean, easily, the $200 on Instagram and you say it's a big problem, but I bet it's price small.
Starting point is 01:04:09 Let's hear, Ramundo, we have selected, as we play Select a Bit, your Instagram issue. What? I have a guess on what the product was. Okay, go ahead. All right, so I got approached just, they found my email or something like that, and they said, hey, we'll give you $200 to promote this sleepy bit or product. And so it's a drink. It looks really just like a five-hour energy, but it's not. It's actually the opposite of energy.
Starting point is 01:04:32 It makes you go to sleep. So they sent it to me, me and my wife tried it, and it smells really bad. So I go, okay, no worries. I mean, it probably works awesome. I mean, who cares about the smell, even though it really smells like sewage. So we tried the product, and we, went to sleep that night. It was the worst night's sleep we've ever had both collectively. Oh, wow. And I go, but I'm getting $200 for it. I could probably just still do the advertisement
Starting point is 01:04:57 posted on my Instagram and everything would be fine. But then the listeners are probably going to be upset because they're not going to sleep great either. What do I do? This is a common problem, especially for us, we do commercials. We have a rule on this show. We won't do your dang commercial. if either we don't use it, we don't believe in it, or somebody we know doesn't believe in it. They've been trying to get me to get low testosterone stuff forever, and I'm like, I don't have low T guys, I can't do this. In your mind, you don't.
Starting point is 01:05:25 Have you been checked? No, he hasn't. Okay, well, you might. That's not my point. But I mean, you just don't want to do that commercial. You don't want to do it for $200. Because how many followers do you have? Over $100,000.
Starting point is 01:05:37 You should be making at least $1,000, Ray, if you're going to post that to your followers. Wait, but, on a product that you really like, because I think we've all worked really hard to build that good rapport with our listeners and followers. So, like, don't ruin it for us. Yeah. And because we don't want to influence, if we influence in a way on radio or on Instagram, and then what happens is somebody goes, well, I don't, that's not a good product. And they lied about that. We may make $200 right now, but they're never going to believe anything we say later.
Starting point is 01:06:08 So we're forfeiting tons of other, you know, opportunities. So don't do it, Ray. Yeah, I mean, I could have been convincing in the ads, but I just felt like, man, it's so dishonest. How would you have done the ad? Like, tell us about the ad. I don't want to say the product, but... Just call it Sleepy Drinky. So Sleepy Drinky approached me and said, do you want a better night's sleep?
Starting point is 01:06:26 And I said, yes. And you know how I can do that with Sleepy Drinky? Me and Beezer drink it. It's very simply every night. And when we wake up in the morning, oh, oh, we've never felt better after we drink sleepy be drinky. You guys should try it too. Disclaimer, this may smell really terrible and not give you a great night's sleep.
Starting point is 01:06:46 You made the right call. I turn on crap all the time. You'll only see me really on my Instagram doing dogs because I work with Purina a lot with service dogs for our vets. Meta Musil once because literally I had in the background and they reached out and they were like, do you really use this? I was like all the time. I have
Starting point is 01:07:03 I was figuring out stomach issues. So we want to be honest for our audience. So when we do say something, that's it. Yeah. Why'd you give me that face? Oh, no, I was just thinking of, I've only gotten paid from someone from my Instagram once, which was Netflix, and I should have charged so much more. Oh, yeah? You undercharged? Well, I mean, once I realized, once I started to think about it, I think that they were probably like,
Starting point is 01:07:25 sweet, we got this. And then I was like, it's Netflix. They're probably willing to pay. A nickel and a washerags, they paid Amy. Who knows what? I mean, but I really was a fan of what I was talking about, but still, I was like, dang, I didn't handle that well. Sorry about that. Sorry. Ray, you made the right call, buddy.

Starting point is 01:11:27 This story comes to us from Redwood, Pennsylvania. A man was arrested after he accidentally broke into jail. He was out, had a few drinks, and then he's walking home, and he sees a fence, climbs it, another fence, climbs up on a balcony. Turns out it was the local jail. Which is crazy. Crazy that no one stopped him or didn't see him climbing fences. Right. That's the one thing. And the guard said, then he saw him on a camera and he's like, that guy's in streetclose. He's going to try to break out. And so they went and got him. He's like,
Starting point is 01:11:57 no, no, no, I'm just a civilian. I didn't realize I was breaking into jail. So do they just walk him out of prison then? Or is then he's arrested. And then he just stays in jail. Yeah, they just close the door behind him. But that's crazy. They didn't see him going into jail. Yeah, no one was watching.
Starting point is 01:12:11 He got over two fences and up one balcony before he got caught. And aren't there barbed wire? You would think. Like razor blades on top of those fences? Maybe that's just in the movies. Maybe that's just a federal pen. Maybe he just broke into, like, a county. Not that I know anything about that.
Starting point is 01:12:26 Maybe he's in the Martha Stewart prison where it's real lax. On Lunchbox, that's your bonehead story of the day. It's now time for four. Flashback Friday, the year is 2001. Flashback Friday. 2001, I was in junior in college. The world was still in front of me. I thought I could do it all.
Starting point is 01:12:44 Little did I know I couldn't. You did a lot. Hey, yeah. Well, then there's more to do. You just made it seem like, well, you did a lot. You just made it seem like, oh, you did a lot. But you were so far in your life, you've done pretty darn well. Yeah, but, you know, my eyeballs were wide open.
Starting point is 01:12:57 I was like, I'm going to take over the world. I'm going to be the president. Oh. What did you think by this age that was going to happen? That's dumb. Yeah. Do you really want to be the president? I don't think you do.
Starting point is 01:13:07 Gosh, you age so quickly. But even like when you were in college, 2001, did you want to be president? Yeah. Really? But I didn't want to do it the traditional way. I don't want to be a politician because politicians are not good people for the most part. They're all people who grew up in privileged and don't understand what it's like to not be privileged. So I never wanted to do it like that.
Starting point is 01:13:25 Who knows? Maybe I still can. I'm only 73 right now. Man, I was thinking about what to drink 2001 in college, not president at all. Well, that was what I wanted to do later. Yeah. Like, I was, you know, when I'm on TV show, wanted to be a stand-up comic, wanted to have a huge radio show. And then after 35.
Starting point is 01:13:40 Wait a second. Wait a minute. Nothing a lot of that. All right, let's go. Flashback Friday, 2001, the biggest country song, Alan Jackson, where I come from. It ain't like Mama fixed it. That's where I come from. It's corn bread and chicken.
Starting point is 01:13:56 Yeah, it's a good one. That one gets overlooked as one of his better ones. Yeah, true. But definitely it's one of his best, but definitely one of his best. but definitely one of us better ones. The biggest pop song. Now, this song, this is where I'm going to play it. It's going to make you feel good.
Starting point is 01:14:09 And you probably haven't even to remember it how good you felt when this song played. It's just, it's one of those songs, man. Hit it. I mean, it's fine. I'm not taken back. You are. And you're lying. You're lying right now.
Starting point is 01:14:24 You're lying to me in America. Listen, this nickelback song, you guys act like you hated it. No, I don't hate it. When it came out, it was great. And we loved it. We loved it together. and we didn't even know each other. Yeah, yeah, I know.
Starting point is 01:14:35 We met a few years later, but no, this song is fine to me, but it hasn't taken me nowhere in my head. That's not true. Right now, I know you're in a great place. Yeah. You just don't want to admit it because people have stigmatized nickelback. I don't even remember listening to this song ever. Can you hear it right now?
Starting point is 01:14:51 Nah. No, I hear nothing. You think it's dead air? It's like white noise. Eddie's freaking out because it's dead air. Ray, get something on. The biggest news story is Alia's plane crash in the Bahamas. Oh my God.
Starting point is 01:15:04 It happened in a small plane that was to carry her and eight others back to the U.S. after it crashed after takeoff the 22-year-old singer had gone to the Bahamas
