Hi, I'm Iris Palmer, host of the Against All Odds podcast.
Every week, I'm sitting down with exceptional people who have broken barriers,
even when the odds were stacked against them.
Like chef Victor Villa of Villas Tacos.
You know the taquero from the Bad Bunny halftime show?
It was great.
It was a big moment.
It was special.
And I felt like I was really representing my family, you know, my brand, my city.
I was representing all taqueros, not only of like,
you know, the U.S., but of Mexico, and beyond, all the taqueros of the world.

On paper, the three hosts of the Nick Dick and Poll show are geniuses.
We can explain how AI works, data centers, but there are certain things that we don't necessarily understand.
Better version of Play Stupid Games win Stupid Prizes.
Yes.
Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift, who said that for the first time.
I actually, I thought it was.
I got that wrong.
But hey, no one's perfect.
We're pretty close, though.

The best bits of the week with Morgan.
Part one.
Behind the scenes with a member of the show.
What's up, everybody?
Happy weekend, or should I say,
happy holidays and Merry Christmas because it is time.
It is.
I'm so excited.
You already have your stuff up, don't you?
Oh, heck yeah, I do.
I have my stuff up the day before Halloween.
What?
Oh my gosh.
Yeah, I was just excited.
I need to.
Yeah, I haven't yet.
You have it yet, but that brings an interesting point because I want to talk about Halloween first, though, because did you do anything different for Halloween this year, given you're in a newer situation?
Not really, no, because my boyfriend, his, he didn't have the kids this year, so.
Okay, gotcha.
So did you two dress up or do anything fun for Halloween?
Oh my gosh, we really didn't.
Like, this is the first year we haven't done anything.
We, like, just walked around the neighborhood.
Oh, you guys walked around, but you didn't have any kids.
We dressed up, but we just, like, walked.
Yeah.
It just kind of walked.
and I don't know.
Just check out all the kids.
Yeah, basically.
Feels a little weird.
We went to a different neighborhood.
We went to 12 South, and it's like cute, so.
Oh, okay.
Not like his neighborhood.
What were you guys dressed up as?
We put on astronaut costumes.
You say that like so chill, but that's a costume.
Well, we did it last year.
I don't know.
I just feel like this year was like lame.
Oh, so you guys were outfit repeaters for this year's Halloween?
Yeah.
Did you bop around bars or anything?
We did.
Yeah, yeah.
We went in now at bar.
The way I said that at the beginning sounded really creepy.
I really thought you guys were walking around a neighborhood.
We just walked around the neighborhood and watched the children.
No, we went to like 12 South and like Embers was open.
Wayday.
So we just went out of ours.
Okay, that's a lot more than just, you know, typical walk.
So that is cool.
You didn't do nothing for Halloween.
That's true.
Yeah.
I truly, we did nothing.
I put on my dinosaur onesie.
My boyfriend put on a cape that I had from one year and we handed out candy to trick-or-treaters.
awesome. Did you have a lot of kids? I nearly got rid of all my candy, which is a first.
I think all the kids in my neighborhood, because when I had first moved in several years ago,
there was no kids, and then there were babies, and now the babies are turning four and five.
So it's like, they've now grown, so now I'm starting to have kids in the neighborhood.
That's fun. Yeah. So it was really fun. We have one kid show up. That was an inflatable baseball bat,
and he couldn't even come on the porch. That's so cute. What a good idea. That was like my favorite part.
like is seeing all the costumes. It's so cute. People are so clever. They really are. I'm like,
how did I not think of that? Let me tell you the best one, though, was somebody came up.
Obviously, Wicked's huge right now, but somebody came dressed up. Their whole family was
wicked, but the little boy was a tornado. And so they put all this like white, I don't know what the,
it's like, it looks like cotton. Yeah. And wrapped it all around and created like put lights in it. So he's
like this little twisty tornado. Kidding me? That's so cute. That's so cute.
I know. See, I guess that's why I was like, we were just astronauts because people go like all out. And I'm like, dang it, why didn't I? Every year I'm like, I want next year, I'm going to go all out.
But in all fairness, some people don't even dress up. So at least you did dress up. Yeah. You know, you had something going. Yeah.
There was a really cute kid that was nervous and they were dressed as a dinosaur. I was like, oh my gosh, a fellow dino. And the kid got so excited. I was like, heck yeah, I won one. That is really cute.
Yeah. I know. I love Halloween. And then we came home and just watched scary movies.
You love scary movies.
Yes.
Is that your favorite part of Halloween?
Yes.
Absolutely.
There were so many options.
Because usually you know me, like I'd already seen Halloween like 10 times in October.
And we didn't watch any scary movies until Halloween.
Dang.
I know.
Isn't that crazy?
Who are you?
A new person.
I know.
I don't really like it because I love my scary movies.
You do.
But they're also hard to watch if there's kids around and stuff too.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's true.
You have to be a little bit more careful about what's being on.
Yes.
There's like the kids scary movies on Netflix, but that's about it.
I know. We watch K-pop demon hunters. That's the go-to.
I am obsessed with that movie. I'm fine with it. Yeah, we listened. We were talking about this
the other day, but we listen, like, in the car. To the soundtrack? Yes, the soundtrack. I'll listen
in the car to the soundtrack and I don't have kids. And the gym? Like, it's so good. It is a great. I love
K-pop music. I've always, yeah, I've been a fan of K-pop music. There's Black Pink was one that I've
listened to for a while and B-T, be, I wanted to say B-TK and that was not a correct.
I'm from Kansas.
So VTK is very prevalent in my life.
BTS, yes.
Yeah.
So I've listened to both of them and then love the movie.
And I am obsessed.
Listen, Netflix has been killing with the soundtracks because not only was K-pop Demon Hunter's bomb, but nobody wants this soundtrack is also bomb.
Is it?
Yes.
I haven't watched it yet.
But the soundtrack's good?
Yeah, they have songs from Chris Tableton, Ella Langley.
They did one from Selena Gomez.
They have one from Alicia Cara.
And they have a lot.
even songs on there from artists that they don't know what I'm obsessed with. That's awesome.
I love, oh, I remember the first one. Yes, like the first season. Yeah, it had good music too.
See, I think Netflix is just killing it with the soundtracks lately. They're finally bringing it back and it's a big deal.
I feel like they really, movies in general, I've just not paid attention to the soundtrack.
And I'm such a huge fan of a movie more so if I really like the music. Yeah. Attached to it.
I just want to know how like the K-pop, the movie, how it became so big. Like how? Because I,
that would never catch my eye. I was like,
K-pop demon hunters? What is that?
Mm-hmm. K-pop music in general, I think.
Oh, I guess. Yeah.
Yeah, I mean, and just that culture, anime culture,
K-pop, all of that culture is really massive.
They have such a huge fan base already.
So then you take anime, K-pop, and, like, create an animated movie.
You know, you're going to automatically get people who like those things.
And then it becomes this big pop culture moment,
and everybody starts watching it.
I think it was a combination of all those things combined.
But yeah, it wasn't one, like, I started to watch it.
What's so funny about this is I started to watch it when my boyfriend was still at work.
And I was like, I don't think he's going to like this.
It was like 15 minutes in and he gets home.
And he's like, sits on the couch.
I'm hanging out like watching it.
And he's like into it.
We didn't leave the couch to watch the rest of this movie.
And now he listens to the soundtrack just like I do.
Oh, my gosh.
We're both obsessed with it.
That is amazing.
It's so catchy though.
It is.
Maybe, you know, there's a purpose and really, you know, demon is in the soundtrack and they're taking our souls. That's the whole purpose. That's what it is. That's what it, oh my gosh. No wonder. We're addicted to it. They're putting something. Oh, my gosh. And for anybody who doesn't know, that's kind of the storyline of the show. It's like they're demon hunters and they're trying to stop the demons. So maybe that's what they're trying to do with us in the real world. It's just really good. I love the songs. Yeah. I got to go listen right after this. I love Golden. I saw a lot of people. See? It's so good. I saw a lot of. I saw a lot of.
of people dressed up as them too for Halloween.
Really? My boyfriend's kids, they were.
They did it. They did the Cape Hot demon hers.
She was like the pop star and then he was a demon.
That's funny. It's the funniest thing ever. It's so cute. She had like the purple hair.
Yep. And I saw so many moms trying to recreate the purple hair and it was like this whole big ordeal because it's pretty intense like combining hair like purple hair with your normal hair and doing the braid.
Right. That's what they did.
Yeah.
Funny. Man.
See, I'm, you know, I'm with the kids right now.
You are. Wow. Look at that.
It's such a good movie.
Anybody who says it's not lying.
I know.
It is.
Like you would never think if you're not in the anime, which I never was or K-pop.
And I'm like, okay, I love it.
See, and you also don't even really like movies in general.
Exactly.
Not really.
It's a joke.
I'm getting better.
I like movies.
Abby doesn't watch a lot of movies.
I should say you don't like them.
Yeah.
But now that it's like getting cold out, I'm better at that, like sitting on the couch.
I'd rather just be curled up on the couch.
When it's nice out, I want to be outside.
Are you becoming a little bit of a homebody?
I think so. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah? This new season of life? Yeah, I think I am. I'm more content with just like sitting there, you know, next to somebody watching something. It's okay to me. And it's more fun. When you're watching with someone up to like, oh, what's going to happen? And you're like, oh, should we watch tonight? And he's like, oh, I can't. Like, I'm going to bed. I'm like, no, I really want to watch it. So we don't watch without each other.
What show are you guys watching right now? Well, we're watching Love is Blind. Funny. I love it. Yes. It's just so entertaining.
It's just crazy.
You gotta have some trash TV every now and again.
Yeah.
What else are we watching?
We're about to watch.
Nobody wants this.
Okay.
It's good.
I'm all caught up on all of it now.
And it's a great show.
Really?
Yeah.
We watched We watched Weapons.
Okay.
It's a scary movie.
That is a scary.
Like thriller movie?
Yes.
Loved that.
Oh.
Okay.
Look at you go.
I know.
I'm proud of you because it wasn't, you know,
maybe a year and a half ago we were sitting in the same room
doing this podcast and you were saying how you always had to be doing stuff and you were outgoing.
Like you'd shop a lot because you'd always be wanting to be out and doing things.
Yeah.
It's weird.
You're in a new season of your life.
Look at me.
I'm realizing, yeah, you don't have to be doing something all the time.
It's a learning lesson.
Yeah, but also you're just in a new season of your life too in general.
You have a lot of new things happening.
Yeah.
Not new in the sense of like new new, but newer.
than you five years ago knew what was going to happen. Maybe I'm just always tired. That's why. Now you're
exhausted. No, but I did go out on a school night, went to Ernest at the Ryman, and that was really good.
How was it? It was amazing. Oh my gosh. Like he's so entertaining and so good. And it's just so
country, you know, because he like had his like vest and boots and cowboy hat and his whole band like
dresses, super country. Very Western. Yeah, very Western. Yeah, yeah. And I loved it. He did
like a Toby Keith tribute. He brought out like a whole bunch of songwriters like Billy Dean. He brought out
he sent dust on the bottle. David Lee Murphy. Yep. That was cool. It was awesome. He brought out Hardy.
Oh, nice. That's fun. Yeah. And I was at the Ryman. Uh-huh, which is the Ryman's always. I try not to
pass up the Ryman show, you know, because I don't get to go that much. Yeah, Rhyman shows are really good.
Yeah. And we were both at Keith Urban not long ago. Uh-huh. He's so good. He's, he's so good.
He's my favorite entertainer.
He really is.
I don't know how he hasn't just won a million awards for that specifically, but he is so good.
I know.
I don't understand.
He knows how to work a crowd.
He can sing incredibly well.
He has a huge catalog.
He knows how to play instruments like crazy.
It's like there's no, he's the triple threat when it comes to an entertainer.
How does he have that much energy?
I never see him drinking water or anything.
Like the whole time.
I'm like, I would need an energy drink because he,
goes all out. And then he just like walks to the back and just let people are like grabbing him.
Like that kind of annoyed me for him. Oh, watching him walk to the back. And he does this every show.
Every show I've been to him. I think I've seen Keith Urban seven times now in my entire life.
And every single show he does this where he walks in the crowd. And man, just watching people just like,
they like grab his chest. Just like nothing is off limits. And I get people having their hands out because
they're trying to get him to like touch it. And if they audit like he walks and they
kind of brist him fine. But man, when you see the hand grab, you know what I mean? Like just
full grab. Full, like, fingers are out. And you're like, what? Did you see someone like grab his
head and like hugged him? I'm like, he's playing guitar right now. Yeah. Or like, what are you doing?
It's so, it's interesting to watch. But yes, he is, gosh, like anytime I get a chance to go to a show,
I will be there in a heartbeat. Me too. He's the all-time best. Oh my gosh. Back in Wichita,
when I was probably in middle school, they did a contest. And they had you like make a music video
to like, I want to kiss a girl. I want to kiss a girl. I want to hold her tight. And like my mom
recorded me and I like found it the other day. And it is the funny, like the worst thing ever.
Did you win? No, I didn't win. I think I was in the top three. But you win like concert tickets.
I didn't get it. But you make a music video and it was me like looking in the mirror like putting on
makeup and then I walk over and I grab a guitar like and singing a mic. It was actually.
actually like creative, but it was, it was just funny. I feel like you need to post that. I should. I
should. I feel like that's a great throwback. I really do. So like every time I hear that song,
I think of that moment. That's hilarious. Because I tried so hard. Like it was like a whole theatrical
thing. You're trying to get tickets. Yeah. Back, I remember that. Like before I ever worked in radio,
I would call. I was like one of those people who'd try and win tickets. I won tickets. One of the years,
I did win tickets to Keith Urban. Oh my gosh, really? On 102 on the Bull
Yeah. That's so funny. Yeah, I did like a karaoke contest and I won three concert tickets. See, that's incredible. One was like just a more. Carioki, look at you. Like, but that's when they did like fun like contests. Yeah. I mean, they probably still do. They made you be really interactive. Yeah. Now it's more social media driven. Social media is part of it. It's also funny too because one year when Keith Urban was in Witchraught, he always brings people up on stage like one of the somebody in the audience and some former version. And one year he
brought my sister up. Oh, that's cool. And she was on stage and sang with him. How? Like, he just
picked her out. We were in the pit area and we just happened to be right by the stage and he was
looking and I think it was her birthday or somewhere around there and we were like pointing at her
and she went up there and dance and sang with him and hilarious. Oh my gosh. That is really cool.
Yeah. And then do you remember after shows they do like the after concert concert on the radio?
Yes. You would get in and you could call in. I would always call in and be like, the concert was awesome.
And then I'd hear myself.
That's so weird.
That was like in middle school.
No, that was so much fun because you were on such a high from the concert.
And then they're playing all of their music.
Yes.
And you're listening to all the songs again and you're still viving in.
And then you call and give your review of the show or whatever.
That is so crazy.
It's just very interesting because like when we lived in Kansas, like concert, that was like a big deal.
Like they didn't happen that often.
Yeah.
You know?
And that was like a birthday present to me.
Exactly.
And there wasn't a whole lot of people.
coming to town in general. Yeah. Like for a famous celebrity or artist to come to town,
like Tim McGar or Keith Urban was like, everybody in town was trying to go. Yes. And I remember like
going to Dillens, you know, it's like a Kroger or whatever, grocery store. And you would like pick
out your select a seat. Like you'd pick it out in front of them. You're like, I want these right when
they go on sale. You're there at 10 a.m. I remember my mom would go. She's like, oh, I just want
best available. And we get them like the day they go on sale. And then the concert's like next year.
Yep.
Mm-hmm.
That's...
Or you would call, that was like the next phase was when you'd call select a seat.
Yes.
And you'd have to wait on hold or like get in the line.
Yeah.
You're like, they're like, what price range or whatever?
And I'm like, I just want best available or 300 level.
Oh my gosh.
That's so weird.
Because like we always talk about how tickets go on sale and it's like...
Well, now it's like you just go online.
You know, kids will never know.
They'll never know.
We are kids.
We are.
But it's crazy how much it changed.
It has.
It has changed a lot.
And I did go see a comedian and his whole thing is like talking about this nostalgia.
I kind of remember his name because he was hilarious.
And I was dying laughing.
But it was about this.
Like you were talking about all the past things.
Yeah.
And you're in a room with a bunch of people who also had that experience.
So it was funny.
Oh, that would be.
Mm-hmm.
It was a good one.
I'll have to remember his name.
Okay.
We're going to take a quick break and we'll be right back.
Hey, Ernest, what's up?
Look, money is something we all deal with.
But financial literacy is what has.
helps turn income into real wealth.
On each episode of the podcast, Earned Your Leisure, we break down the conversations
you need to understand money, investing, and entrepreneurship.
From stocks and real estate to credit, business, and generational wealth, we translate complex
financial topics into real conversations everyone can understand.
Because the truth is, most people will never talk how money really works.
But once you understand the system, you can start to build within it.
That means ownership, smarter investing, and create.
opportunities not just for yourself, but for the next generation.
If you want to learn how to build wealth, understand the markets, and think like an owner,
earn your leisure is the podcast for you.

American soccer is about to explode.
The World Cup is coming.
Ramos sending on to Ernie.
I'm Tom Ramos.
I'm Tom Boe.
On our podcast, Inside American Soccer, you'll get the real storylines.
I'm not worried about Polisic. I'm not worried about Balagan. I'm not worried about McKinney.
My only concern is what happens in the back.
The biggest decisions.
If you're going to look at stats and numbers, he has no shot at making this World Cup team.
And the truth about the U.S. national team.
It wouldn't be a huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals or potentially a great run into the semifinals.
The World Cup is almost here. Experience it all with us.

Hello, gorgeous, it's Lala Kent, host of Untraditionally Lala.
My days of filling up cups at Sir may be over, but I'm still loving life in the valley.
Life on the other side of the hill is giving grown-up vibes,
but over here on my podcast, Untraditionally Lala, I'm still that Lala you either love or love to hate.
I've been full on over-sharing with fans, family, and former frenemies like Tom Shue.
I had a little bone to pick with Schwartzie when he came on the pod.
You don't feel bad that you told me I was a bootleg housewife?
I almost flipped a pizza in your lap.
Oh my God, I literally forgot about that until just now.
Sorry, I don't want to blame alcohol.
I got to blame that one on the alcohol.
This is about laughing and learning when life just keeps on life in.
Because I make mistakes so that you guys don't have to.
We're growing, we're thriving.
And yes, sometimes we're barely surviving.
But we do it all with love.
It's unruly.
It's unafraid.
It's Untraditionally Lala.

or the friend who always says,
hey, you know what, what if I started that?
This is for you.
I'm telling you, I had nothing to my name.
I didn't know a single person in New York.
And somehow I'm dressed by Oscar de Lorenta
walking down that red carpet.
This month, we sit down with entrepreneurs and creators
who actually did it,
who turned the scary leave into a business,
a paycheck and a life they are proud of.
Direct center of our happiness or our regrets is whether or not we're taking action on the things that matter to us.
They're not selfish. They're so important. They actually lead to our greatest contributions
because when we're living fulfilled, we actually show up better everywhere.
We lead better. We're better friends. We're better relationships and collaborators and all those things
because we have passion about the things we're doing.
If you're trying to build something of your own this year, join us in these conversations that will make you braver

I went and sat on the little ottoman in front of him.
I said, hi, Dad.
And just when I said that, my mom comes out of the kitchen,
and she says, I have some cookies and milk.
This is a badass convict.
Right.
Just finished five years.
I'm going to have cookies and milk.
Yeah, mom.
Yeah.
On the Ceno Show podcast, each episode invites you into a raw, unfiltered conversations about recovery, resilience, and redemption.

I'm an alcoholic.
And without this trouble, I'm going to die.

And listen now.
All right.
So we are in the holiday season.
Very exciting.
And I want to know if you're looking forward to this year because you're living with your boyfriend.
You're decorate for Christmas.
Yes.
All the exciting things.
I am looking forward to it.
Yeah.
It's really weird, like, for us, because he's going to be here Christmas.
and because his like mom and brother are coming into town and he's going to have the kids.
But I always go home for Wichita.
For Wichita.
I always go home for Christmas.
Same same.
And I don't know.
He's kind of bummed that I'm not going to be here and I'm kind of bummed.
But I don't, it's like tradition.
I wouldn't be with my family too.
It's hard.
Yeah.
And that's something that we're going to have to think about in the future, you know.
And work through.
So are you going to try and potentially stay here a little bit and then like
maneuver that time a little differently than before. Yeah, probably. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's just,
I know he really wants me to be here like Christmas Day, you know, because he has the kids.
He has them every other year. And so he has been Christmas Day this year. But yeah, so we're
trying to navigate that. But yeah, we're going to decorate. We're going to do all the things.
That's what's fun about when, you know, he has kids. So we get to do all the, like, everything.
Well, and like, especially at this point in Christmas celebrating, everything starts happening mid-November.
Oh, yeah.
So you can do things for a whole month long.
And I know it's hard because when it's attached to that specific day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day.
But when you can spend the entire month doing all kinds of Christmas things, it makes it a little bit easier for that day to be more fluctuating.
Yes.
If that makes sense.
I know it doesn't feel that way, especially because if you go on social media and everybody's with their people for the specific day and they post.
But the reality is you have the entire month to celebrate.
however you can make it work and get all your things in and it will be just as special and
exciting so you guys can do all the things still even though it may not specifically fall on that
one coveted day that's true yeah and it's just crazy because it doesn't I don't know it doesn't
feel like Christmas to me how can it already be November I know so I'm very like thrown off
there's like oh it's time to start doing like holiday things mm-hmm it is listen I've been
ready to do it since before Halloween and I know
There's haters out there of that.
But I have never decorated for Thanksgiving.
And mind you, what's really interesting is they like stop doing pumpkin stuff and everything right after October.
So pumpkin are part of Thanksgiving, but there's no longer really any pumpkins.
Yeah.
See, that's weird.
Yeah.
It's like it's associated just Halloween for pumpkins.
Exactly.
And it's like, no, it's also like Thanksgiving.
Like even Trader Joe's only does their pumpkin stuff in September.
They're like gone.
It's one month and it's September.
not even in October or November.
Oh my God.
So how the heck am I going to be in the holly jolly spirit for all the holidays if there's
not even like decorations and options?
I know.
I don't know.
And also I just like love, you know I love shopping and I love looking at Christmas decorations.
Me too.
But then I'm like, where do I put it?
That looks like it's up at two months and then where do you put it?
Okay.
Let me tell you my situation this year.
So obviously my boyfriend's living with me now.
And so I am excited.
We both really love Christmas, both like big favorite holiday.
And it's funny because I was like, I want my house to look like Christmas threw up in here.
It's very much what I want to look like.
And I've never really wanted to do it by myself because I've already decorated.
I already have my own traditions and stuff that I would do.
And I already did all of those.
But I was like, okay, well, you're new.
So like we have to add some new things to make this different.
And so I started, oh, man, we spent like seven.
seven hours shopping the other day. We just went to all different kinds of stores and I was just
looking at all the different Christmas decorations, seeing what's out there, what's available,
new ideas I could do. And we did come up with doing a Harry Potter tree. Oh, cute. And it's
amazing. We're obsessed with it. And now I'm like on the hunt always for Harry Potter ornaments.
I've found a bunch. Is that your main tree, like a big, your big tree or you're doing like a little
side? It's this side. So currently in my living room, there's two Christmas trees.
There's one out on the deck and there's one in the big tree. And there's one in the big tree. You're
bedroom.
Nice.
Oh, that's cool.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We weigh a little all out.
But one of the, the one on the deck is his that we added lights to.
The one up in my room is my old one from my apartment that I've had and I've always kind
of done that tree.
But the one and the main one is still the one I've done.
We just added, he had a few ornaments to add.
And we like added a few little new details to it.
But the main new one for both of us is the Harry Potter tree.
That's cute.
So you're going to have a different one every year?
Like a different theme or just you're in...
Just continue to evolve Harry Potter.
That's cute. I love that.
That's fun to do different trees.
It was so much fun to decorate.
But now I'm like, okay, now I want to add on.
How can I add?
And I went a little crazy buying different things.
So I've gone.
And now I have even have candy cane knobs.
And pose on my cabinets.
Oh my gosh.
I got those too.
I got the jingle bells.
Did you put on door knobs?
And when you open the door at jane.
jingles. Okay, that's going to be annoying about a weekend. Not going to lie there. I'll put it on one that's
not used very much. So it can just look pretty. Yeah. Stay there. Because that will be a lot.
Every time somebody goes to the bathroom, that's what I originally was going to do was Reese with
bells that had them on all my cabinets. And then I got annoyed already. I did like one and I was over it.
So then I turned them into little presents. Oh, that's cute. Yes. And then I put candy cane knobs on all the
little knobbies. They're like knob covers.
I don't know. I was seen on truck tank. I've gone out a little bit too hard. Oh my gosh. Yeah, I don't know if we're going to go that hard this year because we're still with his house, my house, I'm trying to get rid of stuff. So like buying more stuff right now, it's a lot. Are you working to get rid of your house or have you made a decision on any of that? I'm going to rent it out. Okay. Yeah. But so you could leave a bunch of your furniture. It's just getting rid of all your personal stuff, right? That's true. Yeah, well, you mean like furnished if I rented it? Yeah, you can rent it furnished.
if you just didn't want to deal with getting rid of your furniture.
I know.
Yeah, I just need, some of it I've just had forever.
That it just needs to go.
You know, I have an old futon that was my first, like, couch when I moved here,
because I didn't know if I was going to stay.
I was just getting, like, temporary.
Like, I got a small table and then a futon.
And I still have it.
Living like a little college girl.
Basically.
It's been, like, in the office in my house.
And I'm just like, do I really need this still?
So, yeah.
Well, at least the things that you want to keep you,
could and offer it up. Otherwise, you could put it in a storage unit. Yeah. If you wanted to
keep it or just sell it all. That's true. But yeah, he loves getting real trees. He tried last
year to do just the artificial kind, which I like, I think they're pretty. But he was like,
I can't do it. And he took it down. He had to get it. He was like, he just always had that
tradition, like the smell and just having a real tree. So. Okay. So see, here's my thing on
real tree versus artificial tree. One, I love the, the economy friendly.
You know, good for the environment, good for me to have my artificial tree and I use it for 10 years.
Yeah, not cutting down a tree every year.
And I never get them pre-lit because so then that's where the tradeoff is, right?
Because I'm buying lights every year.
But I never get a pre-lit.
So then those trees last for like 10, 15 years, which is awesome.
And also, I can't because one year growing up, we had a real tree.
It was the last year we ever had a real tree because we had a cat name.
die and she thought the tree was her personal climbing tree. So she jumped up on it one day
towards the top and then the whole thing came crashing down. Oh my gosh. This is kind of like
Christmas vacation. Very much so. Hopefully didn't end that way. No fires. Thankfully,
there was no fires around but broke a bunch of the ornaments. Still to this day, my parents,
they were called snow babies. Do you ever know the snow baby ornaments? No. Maybe I've seen them.
Very popular thing back in, I would say, 90s, early 2000s, and my mom still has them.
But some very small pieces, you can tell, like a tip broken off and they were glued back together in this whole incident.
It's called snow babies?
Snow babies.
Like those?
Snow babies, yep.
Why did I never?
We never had those.
Yeah, they were very popular back in the day.
I don't know that most places even do them now or if they're the same, if they've changed quality over the years.
I've never seen those.
You've never seen snow babies?
No, look at that one.
Are they so cute?
Yeah, and the ones that we have are just all white.
Now they've obviously evolved to include some color on them.
Wow, I can't believe it.
Yeah.
Snow babies.
And yeah, some of the snow babies have some damage from that one incident.
Oh, my God.
Yeah, so we don't do real trees in my house ever since that moment.
I've had an artificial tree my entire life.
Wow.
And then obviously I have a cat now.
So when I bought one, even before I had Hazel, I went with the intention of like,
there's probably going to be a cat in my life someday.
Let's probably not do real trees.
And I hate bugs.
I don't even like having plants in my house because bugs.
I don't want to talk about bugs.
Wait, no.
Ignorance is bliss.
I don't want to know.
I scroll past those videos where they show.
I don't want to know.
Yeah.
Lots of things can burrow in trees.
No.
No.
I don't do bugs.
Why?
Why did you do that?
New Fear unlocked.
I'm telling you why.
I do artificial trees.
Oh, no.
No.
Lots of reasons.
And bugs are really the main culprit, more than anything else.
But they smell so good, the trees.
Smell delicious.
You could put a fake evergreen scent.
You could put things in a pot on your oven every day and make the smell.
There's fake everything now.
You don't like vacuuming up the pine needles?
There's another fun part.
Of the big trees?
Yeah.
Once they die, they fall.
No, no, no, no.
The real ones.
I was kidding.
Because that is, that's another, that's a con of a real tree.
Because, like, once it starts dying, there's, like, pine needles everywhere.
Yeah, there is.
You need to water it.
Can't forget to water it.
Oh, see, mine would die in a week.
I can't keep plants alive to save my life.
Oh, same.
I have tried.
I have tried to baby these things and move them to the certain sunlight that they need.
And I swear, it's like, my.
house is a grave yard for plants. Yeah, I just Google like most, the easiest ones, like the least
amount of care that they need. I get those. And what are those? I think like the snake plant.
Okay. I had a snake plant. I killed it. Uh-huh. Please, please give me others. Succulents?
I had succulents also killed those. How do you kill succulents? I don't know. Those like are,
those are invincible. I don't know, man. I don't know. You know what I have kept alive? My
My sister gave it to me when she asked me to be her maid of honors in my little, like, package she gave me.
And they're these little moss balls.
What are they?
They're little moss balls.
Moss ball.
Does it sound like a moth ball?
Moth ball.
Moss ball.
So it's like a little green covered ball, essentially.
And you have it in this little jar, and it floats on the top of water.
So it's really funny is mine's still alive because it's still green.
But I went to my sister's house when she had her baby a few months ago.
I was looking at her moss ball that she got at the same time.
This thing's huge.
It's grown.
five inches, you know, which is a lot for this little mothball. And mine hasn't grown at all.
So you haven't opened it? You don't do anything? You just let it sit there? I change out its water every month.
But apparently that's still not enough for it to grow. Is it getting sunlight? I don't know. My house is a really weird location for different sunlight. So yeah, you should find it more than anything.
Find a sunlight spot
A moss spot
You can't even keep a moss spot
I can't
But you know what
I can keep pets alive
So hey that's most important
We can't all be green thumbs
It was really funny because my boyfriend
When he moved in he had a bunch of plants
That he brought with him because he loves plants
Yeah
And they all died
No surprisingly his are still alive
But they had to go outside
Because we were figuring out a bunch of like
where to put things and some of them were toxic to hazel.
So we had to be careful about what was inside the house.
So we put them outside and they all started to thrive.
And they're all seemed to be doing well.
But he's worried they're all going to die over the winter.
And I was like, well, they now have bugs.
I know.
See, that's the thing.
No, I'm with you on that one.
I want to put like the front porch ones.
I want to bring them in.
But I'm like, no, there's bugs.
And that's their home now.
Exactly.
But I love them.
But I can't bring them in.
So then they die.
Exactly.
Well, and this is why my dad in his garage, he puts, we call it his little weed plant, but it's not.
It's like this little tent that he brings all of his outdoor plants inside and puts him in there like a little greenhouse.
Oh, that's cute.
But we jokingly call it his weed tent because it looks like that.
Like straight up.
That's what it looks like.
Wait, where does he keep it?
In the garage?
And then they live?
Yeah, because he puts heat lamps and stuff on everything.
I'm telling you, it's like a little operation happening in there.
But so my dad's like, do that.
I'm like, dad, I have a one car garage.
I don't have room for that.
That one car garage is holding most of my storage.
I don't have room for my own little weed tint.
I know.
That's dedication right there.
That actually is a good idea.
But you could do that.
If you guys have space in your garage, you could create your little area.
Yeah, I should do that.
Yeah, I don't want to throw my plants away.
Don't throw them away.
Don't be like me.
They all die at my house.
Get a heat lamp for inside.
They just need light, I think.
I don't know.
They do need light.
They need heat.
And they need to not be out in the cold.
They need all the things that you are not providing inside.
I know.
My brother's like, well, we could give away a like marketplace to like give them another
life.
And I'm like, yeah, but that's so sad.
I don't want to give away your plants.
He's like, it's fine.
Can you watch it for me?
Just keep it alive over the winter and I'll get it back.
Looking for storage for plants.
Yeah.
They'll be like, ma'am, just get like a storage unit.
I want to pay for that.
Yeah, a storage unit just for plant.
Oh my gosh.
That would be hilarious.
I would never.
But yeah, that's what's going on in my house right now.
Oh, that's so fun.
I love it.
One day, I'm going to go all out.
I want like 10 trees.
I think you should go all out.
This year, I think you should do it.
Okay, yeah.
It's your guys, wait, you were living together last Christmas.
Yeah.
I know you haven't shared on the show until this year.
But were you guys living together last Christmas?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Right?
Uh-huh.
Did I make that up in my head?
But I just didn't get much stuff out.
I don't know.
Last year.
I don't know what happened.
It was newish.
Yeah.
Maybe right around that time it was newish.
Am I making that up?
Oh my go.
No, I think I was.
I know it is my timeline.
What is it?
No, we definitely were.
Okay.
Yeah, yeah.
Yes.
Okay.
I just get confused at what I say.
What I, yeah.
Yeah, you shared on the show this year.
You shared it like this summer.
No, we were.
Yeah, yeah.
Okay.
I just had all my stuff at my house and I didn't want to like lug it all the way over to his.
Well, now you have plenty of time.
Yes.
I do.
You can lug it all over.
Yeah.
I mean, we're at the beginning of November.
Let lug this.
Yeah.
We are.
Okay.
Anything else to add for Christmas holiday stuff before we jump to a break?
No.
I think I'm good.
You feel good?
Yeah, I do.
I'm excited.
You got me really excited because I was still kind of in my like pumpkin spice phase.
Here's the thing.
There are no rules.
I'm still making pumpkin stuff while having my Christmas decorations.
I'm still having big Thanksgiving when my family's in town.
I'm just decorated for the holidays.
Yeah.
It's all together as one for me. I still celebrate Thanksgiving.
It is. I think it just confuses me. You're like eating a turkey and like stuffing and then you got the Christmas tree. I'm just like, is it Christmas or Thanksgiving?
It's the vibes because otherwise there's no decorations and then there's no vibes. You know? Yeah, that's true.
Unless you want like a giant turkey head on your wall and that feels weird.
And just like leaves and pumpkins.
Leaves sponge is in a giant turkey head.
That's what Thanksgiving is.
All right.
We're going to take a quick break.
We'll be right back.

All right, I got a really good sign,
and I want you to think if you've had any signs in your life recently
that maybe you just haven't thought of until this moment.
Uh-huh.
But I was finishing painting my front door, which has been a project all in itself.
Really?
Sanding, staining, restaining, putting coat in.
Oh, yeah.
That's a lot.
It has been a not fun job, but I am happy to say it's finally completed and my life is returning back to normal.
Yay.
But when I was doing the finishing touches on this coat, I got swarmed by ladybugs.
I had at one point ten different ladybugs that had landed on me.
And I was standing there like, what is happening and what does this mean?
And so I looked it up.
What do you think 10 ladybugs landing on somebody means?
You're about to have good luck.
Oh.
Like a big thing of good luck.
You're right.
Really?
I know they're good luck.
Okay.
And I love a ladybug, but like just bugs in general gross me out.
So I was a little like, okay, what's happening?
There's a lot of lady bugs.
But it's a sign of good luck or good fortune to come.
The symbol of it also represents protection, love, prosperity, or the start of a new positive phase in your life.
It can also signify that your wishes will come true or that your hardships will be lifted.
Oh my gosh, I love this.
Yeah.
I hate this for myself, though.
Why?
Why?
Because I'm not kidding.
I've been finding dead ladybugs everywhere.
And I'm like, what's happening?
I love ladybugs.
What?
And they're just like in the garage.
Okay.
So obviously also ladybug, there's something happening with the reduction.
of ladybugs right now, clearly?
Wait. Wait. Oh my gosh. Let me see. What does
dead ladybugs mean?
I don't want them to die. Okay. Okay, okay, okay.
Here we go. Finding dead ladybugs can mean that a cycle is ending, symbolizing rebirth
and change. You are in a new season of change. We just talked about that. Or it could
simply be the result of them overwintering in your house and dying from old age or the inability
to escape in the spring. They're dying of old age. They live.
long, happy, great life.
True.
Spring is coming.
Spiritually, it can symbolize the end of a cycle or the need to forgive yourself and move on.
Oh my gosh.
Abby, forgive yourself for everything you've done and move on.
Do you have anything you need to forgive yourself for?
No, just being dumb in the past.
First of all, you're not dumb.
Dating dumb people.
Okay.
You know, I don't know.
One thing, you're not dumb.
Two, none of your decisions are text.
technically dumb because they led you to where you are now.
That's, yeah.
Okay.
Accurate.
But you can forgive yourself for not trusting yourself to make good decisions all the time.
It's probably the more accurate way if you should say that and not the fact that you're dumb.
Because you're not.
Doing dumb things sometimes.
Okay.
Fair.
So that's what we're working on forgiving ourselves for?
Is that what you're in?
Yeah.
You know what I want to work on is how to make a decision.
easily. I struggle with that so much. I don't know why. I've always been that way. It's so annoying.
Give me examples of situations. I mean, it can just be the most simple thing. Like, do you want to go to
this restaurant or this restaurant? Oh my God. I don't know. I don't know. Do you think I should?
And then like even going to the earnest concert. Like I was like, oh, should we go or oh, I need,
probably should stay home and work. Like, we're going to get home late. But I really want to go.
but what if, you know, it's just like a never-ending thing in my head.
I'm like, why can you not just like easily make a decision?
You're an overthinker.
Yeah.
Correct.
So you're over-analyzing a lot of things.
You have to, I would imagine, start putting yourself more in the present moment.
Are you good at doing that?
Do you know how to like bring yourself to a present moment?
Yeah.
Do you feel like when you're in?
Actually, no, no, no, no.
No, no, no, no, I'm better at like,
what if? Like, I'm always like, what if this happens? What if I choose this, then this is going to
happen? Ooh, worst case scenario person? Yes. You, it's like, have you ever done the Enneagram?
Yeah, I forget what mine is. Are you a six? I don't think so. I thought I was like a one or a two.
Okay, seven. The two is the helper. Oh, you just threw out like five. So, okay, we're not going down that.
I think I'm helper. Helper. One. You are a helper. That's number two.
Okay. I should redo it. Or yep. You should probably redo it for.
the space of your life. But yeah, I would say like something that I've realized about my life. And if I can
speak from my experience to maybe help you with yours is that I really struggled with always
being in the past or in the future. I was ever thinking about yesterday and something that happened
or I was always thinking about what's to come or what I need to get done or what's happening.
And I was really bad about keeping myself in this here and now moment. And today is the day I'm
focusing on. And I've had to really like buckle down and do that because a lot of my health stuff
is related to a lot of stress that I've allowed my body to kind of be under because I don't handle
my body doesn't handle stress well. And I give my body a lot of stress all the time.
Like I hurry things all the time. I fit stuff in throughout my day like so jam packed so I don't
have any time to breathe. I'm very notorious for that. So I've had to really start.
pulling back and learning to say no to things, learning to say, hey, you know, what about this day
instead? And in trying to create a day for me that isn't full of stressful factors. So then I can
then experience the day in a little bit more of a present headspace of like, this is all I have
to get done today. I have three things that have to be done today. And then the rest of the day
is mine. And I can live it how I need to live it. And it took me a really long time. It's still something
that I'm working on. Honestly, there's still days that I get caught up in my cycle and I'll be like,
I don't know what's happening. I even had like a freak out the other day because we had had
so many moments of like the, we had ordered a projector screen and it took seven tries to
finally get one that was indented. And then I got this Christmas tree and when we opened it up,
it was all the wrong pieces. And I just was like everything felt like everything that could go wrong
was going wrong. Was one of those days. One of those weeks, really. And I had to,
to literally like my boyfriend sat me down and he looked at me he said Morgan
Remy and Hazel are doing really well right now and I was like yeah they are and he's like
isn't that really all that matters right now and I was like it is honestly yes like all the rest
of this doesn't matter everything that I'm freaking out about everything I'm spiraling about
it doesn't actually matter yeah and like took me back to here right now to this day
and I feel like that's what helps a lot of us not do this where you're overthinking, over analyzing.
It's just like here and now.
What do I want to do right now?
Yeah.
So like when you go to a restaurant, what do you want to do right now in that moment?
What sounds good?
Soup.
Okay.
This one's probably going to have it.
I know.
It's so annoying.
You have to actively do that though.
Yeah, you do.
It's not something I'm afraid that like, you know, I can just be like, yeah, here's all these things.
You have to like actively choose to not do that.
Uh-huh.
I mean, I've always been this way.
My grandpa used to be like, Abby, just make a decision and don't look back because I would make one.
And then I'd be like, oh, wait, was that the right one?
Shoot.
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
I don't know.
I don't know if that was right.
Maybe I should switch.
I'm going to just move forward.
And it's like, that is such a small thing.
It is a dinner decision.
Like that is in the grand scheme of things, that is the smallest decision ever.
But for some reason, it just feels so like.
heavy. Every decision I make just feels like. Why do you feel like it feels heavy? I don't know.
I mean, dinner might be a little extreme. But like if there's two things happen, two events happening at once,
you know, I don't know, or something. Do you feel like it has described or think of like an exact moment where I'm like,
oh my gosh, what do I do? Do you feel like it has any attachment to what people might think?
Yeah, probably. Yeah. I would say. Okay.
we're in therapy right now
we're in a deep therapy session
we don't have to stay in therapy ever
I don't have to stay in therapy ever
I don't even know how did we even get on this
you say it was something you're wanting to change
oh yeah yeah decision making just becoming more like quick
I think you can but you have to actively choose it
anything in life it feels like
is you have to actively choose to make a change
to do something different you have to
genuinely be like it's like looking at all my diet stuff
like five years ago, I'd been like, you can't do that. There's no possibility of that happening.
But one day I woke up and I said, no, I have to. And it did. You know what I mean? Like,
but you have to like turn that switch to say I'm going to do differently.
Mm-hmm. So. That's true. But that's up to you. If you want to. You don't ever have to.
You can just keep contemplating different restaurants. No, I'd love to not be an overthinker.
It's actually, yeah, it's the worst. It's not the worst. There's much worse. There's much worse.
things in life as I've learned. True. That's true. So, but if it's something you want to work on,
you can. You're capable of it. Yeah, you just have to be, you definitely do have to be active.
And just be like, okay, Abby, in this moment, it's not a big deal. Just pick one and go. Like,
that's what I need to start putting, you know, just getting through my head. Yes. And you can.
I believe this can happen. Okay, I want to end with something that we're both currently obsessed with.
It can be anything. And the reason I'm bringing this to you, speaking of my diet and cleanse,
I've obviously, I'm gluten-free and I can't eat dairy and stuff, so I've been trying to find just my new way of life.
And I'm obsessed. There is these siate chips that are Mexican street corn tortilla chips. And they taste like cool ranch Doritos.
Oh, my gosh. And they're my favorite thing ever.
Oh, that sounds so good. Right. Now, I won't say that they're healthy because it's still like it's a snack item and you're eating chips. Those not necessarily the best whole food for you in general.
But it's my good, like, option when I need a little chip and I can't have the other chips and taste like a cool ranch Dorido.
Oh, my.
That's, well, I love cool ranch.
I love white cheddar and cheddar in general.
White cheddar, cheddar, cheddar, cheddar, yellow, green.
But those sound good.
I didn't know.
They had, like, different flavors.
They have a bunch of different flavors.
Big fan of shopping at sprouts.
That's where I've been going lately.
That's really been helping me through my whole experience lately because I can.
can find different options. It's hard to find other options. I used to be a Kroger or a public shopper,
and now I can't. So really? Oh. You can find options. It's just harder. It's harder to find
clean ingredients and clean things. Sprouts is a little bit easier. It's supposed to be this like
farmer's market vibe. Uh-huh. Yeah. But yeah, they have, Siette has a bunch. I even bought
some cinnamon ones. Cinnamon. Simmen. They kind of taste like cinnamon twist from Taco Bell.
Oh, that sounds good. That were also Siette. Oh, my gosh.
So I have an obsession.
I've been obsessed with lately.
It's food too.
Okay.
But it is Granny Smith apples.
Okay.
Dipped in almond butter.
Yeah.
And then you add some vanilla yogurt and it just tastes like the most delicious.
It's like whipped cream.
It tastes like whipped cream kind of.
Oh, okay.
Like a healthy version.
Yeah.
And it's just like the most delicious thing ever.
That combo.
I don't know why.
So almond butter with Greek yogurt.
Uh-huh.
And then.
Just kind of, what I do is I just cut up the, um, the,
apple in slices and then I just put like a dollop, a spoonful of the butter, the almond butter,
and then a spoonful of the vanilla and I just kind of like dip each one.
Okay.
Like back and forth or you can dip one and then dip a little of the other.
I don't know why.
It's just such a good like dessert, but it's healthy.
I have a way for you to make this even a step up.
Okay.
So almond butter put in a bowl, heat it up, so it's a little bit more milty.
Add the Greek yogurt to it because you get it all mixed in really good together.
and then dip your apple, kind of like a chocolate covered apple, in this, like cover it.
Put them on parchment paper on a pan and put them in the freezer or fridge.
Probably fridge.
It's probably better with apples.
In the fridge for like 20 minutes.
Oh my gosh.
My mind is blown.
I'm so excited.
And then you have it almond butter, Greek yogurt covered apple.
That's so cute.
What a good idea.
Yeah.
Have you done it?
No, it's your idea.
But that's such a good idea.
It's just like taking it like.
another step further. Oh my gosh. Yeah. Wow. Wow. And then you could always prep them early so you can always
have them and it'd probably preserve them a little bit because the apples are covered. You probably only could do that like one day in
advance though because apples just go bad so quickly. I don't know if being covered. I'd have to play with it.
Yeah. Oh my gosh. I need to try that. Wow. I feel like you should. I'm like kind of obsessed. I have it every day.
Like I was like I need that. I need that right now. And I like went to the store. I was like,
Abby, you are.
You went to the store for it.
Yes.
I just, I had to have it.
The craving was so.
I don't know.
But that's a good snack.
That's a good little balance.
So you got protein in there.
You got a fruit.
You got some little butter stuff.
I know.
Yeah.
It's like, it is really good.
Okay.
Wow.
That's such a good.
That's cute too.
Yeah.
I don't know if it'll turn out cute.
Well,
but I feel like.
The idea.
I mean, I love, I love covered apples of different kinds.
And I feel like you could easily make that a covered apple situation.
Oh my gosh. Great idea. And then you could always add like toppings to it before you put it in the thing. Like you could put little broken up nuts on it or little like to like raleigh spice it up. But oh wow. This is awesome. Thank you.
Something to try. I could be totally wrong. I could go really wrong. No, I think it's a great idea. Half of cooking is just honestly playing with stuff and I've been doing a lot of cooking lately. So yeah. Whoa. Well, thanks.

On paper, the three hosts of the Nick Dick and Poll show are geniuses.
We can explain how AI works, data centers, but there are certain things that we don't necessarily
understand.
Better version of Play Stupid Games, win stupid prizes.
Yes.
Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift, who said that for the first time.
I actually thought it was.
I got that wrong.
But hey, no one's perfect.
We're pretty close, though.
