It's a Tuesday. No, it's a Wednesday when the show comes out. Oh, that's what I meant. Yeah, we do this. So you confused everybody already listening. Sorry. We record this late Tuesday afternoon. So you have to be like, it's a Wednesday.

We won't edit that out. So don't edit it out, but do that again. But say it's a Wednesday. It's a Wednesday. That it is, my friend. I love it. A couple things, I do want to get to the golf trip that you totally missed out on. That was freaking awesome.

Was it incredible? It was the best. Because I went and looked online and looked at all the pictures. I'm sitting there. I'm looking at your Instagram feed, just drooling, going, how about that part three? A big winner, 19th hole? A plus. A plus. A plus all the way around.

What I want to do first, I am wearing a Paines Valley hat. You are. It looks great. You have a little something on yourself. Oh, a little master's. Is that Augusta? Yeah. Yeah. Never been there, but my brother, thank you so much. Birthday present. So speaking of hats, I do want to start this show with something we've been talking about over the past, maybe two months.

I grew up not having a favorite NFL team. Like love the NFL. And fantasy football makes you care about every NFL team. team. True. But being in Arkansas, we didn't have a team and the Cowboys were everybody's team. So the Cowboys weren't my team because they were everybody's team. Got it. And also they were so good. I refuse to jump on a team that's already good. I kind of lucked into it. My dad was from, as I told you, Texas. You didn't jump. No, I didn't jump. You were brought in. I was brought in naturally. For sure. So I have whittled it down to four teams. Yes. Do you really? I have. I'm pretty

impressed by this. So, and I have four hats. Four hats. Let's see which one looks best on you. So I don't have my one team yet, but I have the four teams that I'm going to be a massive fan of. And I think what that means this year is, I'm going to follow, I'm going to promote, we'll go to a game, maybe we go interview the coach. I love this. I'm just going to be hyper-invested into this team. I have chosen, and I haven't chosen the one, but I have chosen whomever this is purposefully with intent and they're going to be my team all year. And I'm guessing this is not a team that's already there. Who knows?

Because I know you. What do you know about me? I can't jump on the bandwagon for a team that's already good. So it's not going to be the Eagles. It won't be Kansas City. Won't be probably Buffalo. I'm interested and intrigued by this. If you had to pick a team or two,

who would you think I pull out of that? Jacksonville, potentially. Maybe Tampa Bay, even though they won a Super Bowl a few years ago. But still, Tom Brady's gone. Yeah. Let's see. Those two are fine. Yeah.

Arizona potentially. Okay. Solid picks. All right. I don't know the order of these hats are on my hand. So I'm just going to go first. The first hat that I... I feel like you're kind of at the...

You know when they're announcing the college kids or announcing their school and they've got all the hats up there and they're like put one on? I'm going to go... No, I'm not. I'm going to go to Columbia. I'm going to go to Ohio State. And then I rip my jersey. Yes.

None of the hats. And you just completely blew up all the coaches that recruited you. The first hat I'm going to put on? Oh. The Dallas Cowboys. The Dallas Cowboys. So I kind of like it. It's close to Arkansas.

I mean, a lot of my friends are massive fans. They haven't won since the 90s. They have been a, yeah, a perennial. Good team. Not meet expectations. I won't say loser because they've made the playoffs

and had some winning records, but they have not met their expectations for, I don't know, 25 years. 25 years. And this is a chance for you to now, be part of a team and an organization that might take it to the next level this year. And Jerry Jones was super cool to us. Took us up in his chopper,

let us sit in his suite. I did not get that experience. That's true. He did fly your family down there. He did. That was clutch. I love Jerry Jones for that forever. So Dallas Cowboys.

Kevin, how do you feel about the Cowboys? If I were to select the Cowboys. I think it's kind of a cop-out, not going to lie. It's America's team. Wow, but they've sucked. 25 years and the Cowboys suck. And a lot of his friends love them. Yeah.

I know. Maybe that's why, because I'm already surrounded by it so much. And there's so many fans. It's like being a Steelers fan. But what if I pulled out of Patriots hat? Then, yeah, come on board. He would be the same thing. He would be so fired after that. Yes, of course he would. He's a massive patch fan. Come on. Yeah, but America, I mean, Dallas is like they are known as America's team.

So I just feel like that's like, you know, it's everyone's team. I feel like, you're also asking it from a guy from Boston who believes that his team for the last 20 years is been America's team. Yeah. I mean, their name are the Patriots. I know, it's pretty apropos. The only people that call Dallas, America's team, are a Cowboys fans. Let's be fair. Nobody that's not a Cowboys fan is like America's team, the Dallas Cowboys.

True. I do kind of feel like you're a bit of a hidden Cowboy fan, though. I am a fan of people who are nice to me. Fair. And that organization has been super kind to me. I've gone above and beyond in many ways. So I bet a thousand bucks on them to win the Super Bowl as the season started last year. because the odds were good, like $14,000 or something like that.

It's not a bad bet. I didn't win, so it was a bad bet. But at the time, yes. At the time, it had potential. How do I look in the colors? You look great. Yeah. You can't go wrong with the Dallas Cowboys just overall.

That's cool hat. Uniform hat. Our guy Brandon over here is a massive Cowboys fan. Grew up in Texas. Would you like me to be a Cowboys fan? I mean, absolutely. Yes. All right.

He understands if I don't go out of the Cowboys fan. Cowboys very nice. Okay, this is hat number one. Okay, hat number one. I like it. Cowboys hat going off. The star, babe. The star.

All right, let's go to... Choice number two. Hat number two. Now, don't look while I put it on. Okay. Okay, good, good, good. Hat number two is now on. Minnesota Vikings.

Let's go. Kevin O. Now, how would I be as a Minnesota Vikings fan? Oh, dude. Skull Viking. That's all you have to know. Skull. It's so great.

Yeah, that's it. What I like about that, it's very similar to being from Arkansas. We have a chant and we have a mascot that nobody else has. We have, ooh, pigs, we have people like, that's so weird. But we're the only one that has it. It's so different, you know. Same thing with the Vikings. Oh, it's pretty unique.

When you go to that game, and like I said, the Viking comes out of the tunnel on the Harley Davidson. You might even have to get a Harley Davidson. That happens? I've not seen that. Oh, dude. So as you start, as the teams get called out, They go brr-dr-th. And then they roll out, the Viking rolls out on a big Harley-Davidson. It's badass.

The pro to being a Vikings fan is, it's been a while to save one. It has, and they're a really good team. They've got a great coach, and they've got tremendous upside. Tremendous. Now, do they have a rookie quarterback? Absolutely.

I like that because it's not yelling, for sure, this is the top team this year. No, but Justin Jefferson, Addison, and all the different weapons that they have. I mean, they're going to be pretty good. Now, if JJ, he's the outlier. He's the guy that you have to discover whether or not he can play.

But if he's anything what they thought he was going to be become, they'll be a really good football team. The con is pretty far. And the con is cold weather. The pro is dome. But it's only an hour flight from here, right? Dome, though, you know?

It's a dome. Dome. And Minnesota is actually a really cool city. And they've got all the water. You can walkways. You can walk around the city. You mean Minneapolis? Minneapolis. What did I say? Minnesota was a cool city. I got it.

You got it. You got it. You know what I'm saying. We're talking about the Vikings. So how do we feel about the Vikings? I love that one. Love it. Why do you love that one, Kevin? I mean, first of all, head coach, Kevin O'Connell. What up? He's our boy. Same name, you know, ex-patriot.

And I just, I've always been like a hidden fan of the Vikings. I think it's because Randy Moss was my first, like, favorite NFL player. So I've always rooted for him. And I think he looked good in purple. I know. And I think I like, Just the Midwest attitude because it's very similar, like the hardworking, blue collar, go to work, but have a high octana offense. It's the opposite of blue collar.

But other than that, we're going to spread around the yard. Okay, so that's number two. Number two. We've got two solid picks up at this point. All right. Eyes closed. Number three is going on now. Do not look.

All right. Number three is on. The Denver Broncos. Let's go. The Denver Broncos. Now, why would this be appealing? Why do you think it'd be good to be a Broncos fan now? Well, Colorado's fantastic.

I do like Bow Nicks and what he brings to the table. I think under Sean Payton and what they did last year with a rookie quarterback to go out there, go to the playoffs. Look, they lost with the Buffalo Bills. Buffalo Bills was a powerhouse last year, but they're building something there and they've got a rookie quarterback still on a rookie contract

for the next three years, which means they can add a lot of people. pieces around about bow necks, I think they're going to be good. Do you feel like if I were a Broncos fan that would match my personality for what I'm looking for?

Yes, because they're a team that has great history, but still hasn't got it done in a long time, but a team that has a lot of promise. And at the same time, have you ever been to a game at Broncos Stadium? I have not, but it's outside. That's a little scary.

It's awesome. It is. It's awesome. And those fans rage. They love their team. So when they're good, it's a pretty lively environment. Kevin, your thoughts? Yeah, I don't love it.

I'm not going to lie, the hat's cool though. This is an old school logo for those not watching, just listening. This is the old school, the D logo with the horse through it. Yeah, that's cool. Why don't you love it as me as the Broncos fan? I think as a Patriots fan, as I always speak from, they've given us trouble in the years past for 20 years. I don't care about the Patriots.

I know, but wait, you're asking. Everything that he associates with your teams is how the Patriots feel about that. how you as a human feel about me being a fan of this team as a human. That's, yeah, I could see that fit. It looks like a good fit. The colors look good. And you seem like the Broncos guy. Because?

Because Denver just seemed like a city where it's kind of a hidden gem. It's very clean, doesn't go crazy over there, kind of like you. You know, you don't drink. You don't do anything crazy. But you look at the past and you look at the accomplishments and the quarterbacks and all the history. And you're like, dang, they actually got a lot. Yeah, we can trip up. out there, good golf courses, then maybe get up to Aspen, maybe a little getaway with the wife,

make it all make sense. I've never been skiing before. Oh. Have you? I went once. I used to snowboard in high school before I thought, oh, gosh, I don't want to hurt myself. And then two years ago, we took the kids for the first time, and all the kids are getting on their skis or getting ready to get the instructor to come out and show them how to do.

I'm the only guy there with us. I was going to snowboard. I'm like, I've snowboarded before. And then I get there. I'm like, what am I doing? I get on skis, greatest thing ever. Really? Oh, so much easier to get off the lift.

I mean, because normally you're unstrapped in the boot when you're coming off on a snowboard. Here, you got both feet in. You just kind of get off, you glide. And as soon as you learn how to just do this, you're golden. Kids rage. It's awesome. I'm just afraid I would tear ACLs, MCLs, PCLs, GCLs, LCLs, anything that's my fear as an adult man. Well, I mean, you're not going to go down and hit like the double black diamond or anything like that.

No, I plan to start with that. You know what? You know what? Just full on helmet on. Let's go. Parachute. full body armor like looks good okay just get stuck in the woods it looks good it looks good on you broncos okay yeah one more it is cold there though it is cold yeah all right last one uh eyes closed

but um bum and for the final reveal let's go you're up the carolina panthers baby Bryce young your believer I'm asking you I mean it's close I know that I'm not a firm believer that they're there yet. But I can see you being a Carolina Panther fan. I don't need them to be there yet. I just need whomever the team is to know where there is. Like to know that there is a way to get to a certain point. I needed them to own a GPS.

I don't care if they get there on their road trip tomorrow. I just need them to have a GPS. Well, I'm super encouraged by what you saw with Bryce Young last year because obviously he went through his struggles. He got bench. He went back in but played so much better. And it was just that moment in time. where sometimes young quarterbacks go through it,

he's played to the level that they thought he was going to play. And if he comes along and starts to perform like he did in college, this team could be in a really good position, especially in that division to compete. Kevin? Yeah, I mean, Panthers are cool, but I just don't see you as a Panthers guy. I think they're just kind of boring. Everyone kind of likes some team, and I think that's boring to you.

And also they think everybody what? Likes them. Like, no one really has any, like, hard feelings towards the Panthers. I don't think anybody likes them, but I think nobody hates them. And I think people having no interest is worse than people having a bad interest. Exactly. Well, I think part of it, too, is they haven't been one of those teams that frequently have won. So nobody hates them because they're never threatened by them.

Exactly. I wish people hated Arkansas, but we're not good enough for people to hate us. People don't like us. They don't hate us. Yeah, see, I think they're just too boring for you. Yeah, and I don't know if they're fan base is as dedicated as some of these other fan base. that we just talked about. Pound it, baby?

How does that sound if I say that? Just like that. Is that what they say? Pound it, right? Pound it. It'll say baby, but they do say found it, baby. So those are the four teams that I decided. It's going to be one of those four teams.

So if you had to pick one, though, based on what you know about me and those four teams, I'm not holding it to it because you can change it whenever we come back and announce it. I think you're leaning toward Dallas. One, you've got a relationship with the owner. They treat you well. You've got a lot of friends. And like you said, that growing up is probably the closest franchise to you

that you had any affiliation with. So I think you're leaning toward Dallas. Kevin? Yeah, I'm going to go to Minnesota still. I think we had some connections with them in the past. We haven't really gone through, but maybe this will be the last leap and get you to finally make that final leap of being a fan with the Vikings.

We've had Kevin O'Connell on here before, obviously. Yeah. One cowboy, one Viking. Brandon, from the side, just throw your team out there. Who is it? I can see Vikings. Viking. So we got two Vikings.

we got one cowboy. Now, I'm 95% sure you already know who it is. So I'm not going to change it based on what you guys have said here today. But next week, I'll be able to reveal who it is. This is fun. This is fun game. I can't wait to bring my hats next week. You only get to wear like three or four anyway.

You have to be a Patriot or chief. Yeah, that's exactly right. That's exactly right. I mean, Minnesota for two years. That was great. Yeah, we don't know you from that, though. No, no, not a lot of people do. We want you to wear a hat that's like when a mom has,

two sons on opposing teams and the jersey's cut in half. Oh, yeah. And they do. We want you to have that hat. Chief Patriot. Chapatriot. Chapetriot. Chapetriot.

That's on the dinner item for the night. Chapetriot. We'll have a chetriot, please. Okay. There we go. So next week I'll be able to tell you that. I thought it'd be fun if we did a goats from each team through history. We don't have to do every team today, but we could do some of them.

And I thought we'd just go alphabetical and do. Hopefully you've written all these down 18. I do, yeah, I have the alphabetical order. Now, I've spent no time thinking about any of them except for the one we talked about, which was first up alphabetically, which was Arizona, which we talked about it before we came on. That's it. So I haven't done in research.

But I think it's the best place to come from. Yes, it's the best place. And I haven't either because I literally... Well, when I texted you, we were going to do this, I just thought of it. I like it. So about the same time. Yeah, about the same time. Okay, let's go.

Goat of the Arizona Cardinals. We'll take turns going first. Okay. There's two that come to mind, both offensive players, but I have to go with Larry Fitzgerald. Me too. I mean, he's... I was really...

He is... I was drawn to Kurt Warner at first. I was too, but he was only... He was there for a significant period of time, but not... I mean, would Larry play 18 years? Yeah. And I think quarterback is often where our brains go because that's the face of the franchise.

For sure. So we agree. We agree. I mean, it's hard to argue that one. Falcons. Atlanta Falcons. We're standing the A's. How long was Dion there for?

I don't have the answer to your question because I didn't research this. Kevin, I bet Kevin could tell us. But now you're going to lean. I don't think I would consider. Michael Vic? I mean, Michael Vic is legendary, obviously. Five years?

Five years. Okay, I know who I have. You know who you have? Yeah, I have, do you have yours locked in? Because I don't want us changing each other's minds. We can agree we were wrong, but I don't want us changing each other's minds. All right, for me, the first thing that comes in mind is Michael Vick. I have Matt Ryan.

Oh, good call. I think both, though, are arguably correct because Matt Ryan won more. Michael Vick brought more eyeballs to the team. Right, he's such a polarizing figure. And when he came in, he played the position unlike any other question. quarterback to ever play the position. And just his skill set and elite

athleticism was just remarkable to watch. I don't know why I'm fighting for yours. That's just fight for mine. Yeah, and now you've got to fight for yours. Yeah, no, I just think, I mean, other than losing this 23. Oh my gosh, I can't believe.

He won an MVP too. Yeah, he's an absolute. But I definitely, if someone argued Mike Vic, I can't say you're wrong because he brought more eyeballs. I mean, he was the guy that, TV commercials wanted. Matt Ryan really wasn't.

He was a different type of personality, but you talk about a professional in every sense of the word and a guy that could come out and perform on Sundays. Matt Ryan was as consistent of a quarterback in the NFL as anybody. Let's go to B's, Baltimore, the Ravens. Oh, Baltimore Ravens. I'm going to write my down since you're going first. I'm torn between two.

I got one. I mean, there's two guys I think of, and I think that you're going to lean one way. I'm going to go with Ed Reed. Ed Reed is my second, but we had the same two with Ray Lewis. Yes, 100%. Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, that defense, what was it, the 2001 Ravens or 2000 Ravens with the best defense ever?

Do you mean the Trent Dillfer Ravens? Trent Dillfer Ravens. Hey, they were an offensive juggernaut, but that defense was real. Did you play against Ray? I sure did, and Ed, and they were as advertised. I remember you telling us about Ed and how advanced he was. But what was Ray Lewis like?

Not to play against, but to look across. Because that's what I think of, like how he must have been so intimidating. But again, that's just television talking to me. No, but it's the intensity of which he played the game. And every time you looked across the line of scrimmage, he was the guy that was making calls, calling everything out, getting the defense set. But his eyes, when you looked at him, he'd like stare through your soul.

And it was one of those that you knew that you'd have to bring your egg. game. And then he also was a savvy guy. He's known for coming up and making the big hits. But when he dropped into pass protection, he tried to bait you, he tried to act like he's going way but fall back in. He was just an all-around outstanding player. But in addition to that, it was his leadership qualities that you saw every single game and the intensity of which he played the game made him special. Do you think, and this is meant completely complimentary, that his cartoon-like attributes, meaning when he comes out and he does the stomp coming out of the tunnel, and Ray Lewis behind the line.

Do you think that overshadowed how smart of a player he was because he was just seen as the big brute guy who does the big cartoon-like movements? I don't believe so. If anybody ever played against him or you can speak to probably any of his teammates, they'd say that that guy brought it each and every day. And while there's the antics of when he'd come out,

but that kind of set the tone for the entire team because when you're on defense, your mentality is to go up and deliver violence. And so you've got to come out with a source, certain energy and he was the aura of that defense right the way that he played the game and it started as soon as they did introductions you knew okay we're playing baltimore today because i always remember getting ready for baltimore and you're like gosh they don't have a lot of holes they're very sophisticated and how that in complex and the different looks that they give you and the different

schemes and the personnel units so you always did had to be ready for that but in addition to that they had the players to back it up which made it even more intimidating so he was a real cerebral player. For sure. He'd see things, call things out. Probably not to the extent of like a Luke Keekeley, who we've talked about before. But at the same time, he was a guy that played so much football that he'd recognize formation and be able to watch the film and understand what we're trying to get accomplished.

Buffalo bills. Buffalo, Jim Kelly. See, I would have went Bruce Smith. Not, hey, he's right up there. I think we go quarterback and Kelly did leave him before Super Bowl. Bowls with Bruce Smith also was one of the most dominant defensive players possibly ever. But I would have gone Bruce Smith. You could convince me it was Jim Kelly, though.

Yeah, and Thurman Thomas too on that team. I mean, was a legendary running back in an absolute stud as well. But I'd have to go with Jim Kelly. Because even when you go back there and when I was playing, one of the things that make me think Jim Kelly is so after the game, he was like an ambassador. He'd come to the game, sign autographs, do all that. And so we'd come in the tunnel and he'd have a bunch of, Papp's blue ribbons, a bunch of beers waiting for the quarterbacks.

And we'd spend 25, 30 minutes telling old stories. With the quarterbacks of the other team? From the other team. Like, Bray – well, let's be honest. He didn't want to hang out with me. He wanted to hang out with Brady. But at the end of the day, he was a guy that was just so cool and authentic and real. And even when I got to Buffalo, one of the cool parts was he brought all the quarterbacks over to his place because he still lived there.

And we went out and shot skeet. And he had a big barbecue and brought a bunch of them. people over and he's just one of those really incredible ambassadors of the game. That's cool to hear. Let's do three more. The not alive for long and compared

to the other teams and possibly my favorite new team is Carolina Panthers. Well, I have mine. I know. Are you going quarterback? Yeah. Mark Brunel. Mark Brunel was more of a jaguar as a jaguar. Well, who are we talking about? Carolina Panthers.

Sorry, I take that all back. They do. They did exist at the same time. Oh, they'll home. Oh, I was going to Cam Newton. Oh, yeah. What am I talking about? Cam Newton's for sure the figure of that.

I'm sorry. He went to a Super Bowl, though. Cam Newton, dude. Huh? Both of them did. Yeah. Yeah, I'm definitely going Cam Newton. Okay, I flipped you on that one.

Yeah, sorry. I was all over the map there. Sorry, everybody. Two more. The Bears. Bears? Ooh. Butkus.

Interesting. that's not who I would go with, but I could be convinced. It's just weird to compare offensive defense, and it's also weird to compare eras because it's like how the NBA always fights over who is better. Mostly you just have to compare eras with the people in them versus the people in them.

Yeah, Walter Payton. That's who I have. Yeah, Walter Payton's all-time great, for sure. Absolutely incredible. And also watching those videos of him running the hills in the off-season doing all that stuff that he did. He was a special, special player. So, yeah, Walter Payton.

I was listening to Jeff Pearlman who wrote a book on Walter Payton, talk about Walter Payton and how he would take the souls out of his shoes and play with soulless shoes because he felt like he could feel the ground better. And that it was a little painful, obviously, but he felt like he could feel the ground so much better and it helped him cut, move, run, jump, that he played soulless. And then run through people's faces. Yeah.

Yeah. Or around their faces. Or around them. Finally. Cincinnati Bengals. Cincinnati Bengals. Ooh. There's about five here that I feel like we could go with

because I feel like, in my opinion, my humble opinion, Cincinnati doesn't have a guy. True. So I think we should talk this one out as our final one. Okay. Well, I think you have to put... Boomer? Boomer.

I think you have to put Burrow in there. Boomer went to two Super Bowler. So Boomer over Burrow. Right. But Burrow is way more dynamic. but again, we're comparing Erez. That's not fair. It's not fair. I think you have to,

Jamar Chase has to be in it because he has been for multiple years the number one or won a best receiver in the NFL. Oh, for sure. And then Chad Ochosinko was a stud. Great point. I didn't even think about Ocho Cinco. Yeah, Ocho Cinco was the fate. Didn't win, though. Didn't win. I mean, Carson Palmer, my buddy was there for a long time. And he was an absolute stud.

That's a good one. And they were going, the first game of the playoffs that year, He just re-signed a new deal, and he got rolled up on Tours ACL in the first game of playoffs. But those teams were good teams with Chattotosenko, T.J. Husman Zada, and Carson obviously pulling the trigger. They had some good teams back then. The only other person I could think of to put in the running, and I can't pick him because it's a position that you're unable to pick because it isn't focused on enough, but it's only because of the accolades he's gotten is Anthony Munoz. Anthony Munoz was an absolute U.S.C. product. You know?

That means nothing to me. Nothing. Nothing. Corey Dylan was really good, too, the running back. Too brief. I know. No, he was there for a while, is it? Too brief at, like, being, I don't think he was a top-five back for more than...

Well, he's a monster. But I'm just saying, amongst those other names, I do. Okay. I felt like you were fighting for somebody at a personal relationship with him? Yeah, he played with me when I was in a new game. Six years? Six, seven years. Yeah, maybe not long enough.

And to historians who watched the, offensive line. Munoo's probably the guy. But I would probably, I think I would go with Boomer. Yes, I'd go with Boomer. Lost two Super Bowls, but got to two Super Bowls. And was playing the 49ers in their heyday. So, yes, I'm going to go with Boomer. Hey, that's fun.

I've been, we've been hard on catching up on righteous Jimstones. Have you seen that? All of it. Danny McBride, have you? We just started season four. I mean, solid. We have a friend that's in the show. And so we love it.

Who's the friend? Come on. What season are they on now? I'm in season four. Is that the final season? I think so. I have no idea. Because we've seen every episode.

We're done with the show, but I'm not sure how many seasons they've had. I think four total. So we're starting four. Not really sure. Four, yeah. So his name's Tim. He plays the husband of the daughter.

He's a pole dancer this season. Yeah. So I know Tim. He's hilarious. Yeah. He's hilarious. But I didn't know him. We started watching the show and loving it before we got to know him.

But he's super funny and super nice. But that's, yeah, it's an excellent show. It's an excellent show. I mean, it's one of those that you. You just have to embrace the awkwardness. The absurdity of it. It's so absurd. Another one that's been out for a while that somebody recommended, White Lotus.

Yeah. Where are you on that? Season two. I did not get into White Lotus at all until my wife was about to finish this last season. She had two episodes left. I had not watched a single episode of any season. Right. And I was like, I'll catch up with you.

I didn't know that she was on, I thought she had just started. And she was like, you can't. Well, I take that as a challenge. I realized I'd watch four seasons. So I watched all four seasons. And about six days, just on a treadmill, wherever I was. I was watching us flying a lot. And I finished all four seasons.

And I think the reason I liked it more than even the person I know that likes it is because I don't have to wait episode to episode. Because I think that could be a slow cooker if you're waiting week to week. Yeah. And that's one of those. You can pick it up anywhere and kind of find a theme. Now, they did a great job with the characters and all that stuff and building the relationships.

But it's also one of those shows to expect the unexpected. You never know which way they're going with any of it. You're on season two? Season two. There's four? Three or four? Everybody I've talked to about it, they're like, season two is the best. But I'm midway through.

And there's some slow parts, too. Like anything, it drags a little bit. How many seasons? Three. Okay, I've seen all three seasons. Have you? Yeah, I had to catch up my wife. Okay, which one's your favorite season?

I watched them all together. I don't know the difference. You don't even remember. Yeah. Season two is great. Is it? Yeah. That's one you're watching.

It's what like the two couples are there together. Uh-huh. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, like that dude who's like the rich guy in the couple, the good-looking dude. Yes. Like, rarely am I, like, attracted to dudes, but that's a really good-looking guy. Well, I can't say that I had the same sentiment toward him.

I can't. I was like, that's a good-looking dude. Yeah, they're good-looking dudes. Yeah, I'll go with you down that back. Sure. We just finished a show called Department Q. on Netflix that just came out. It's British, but it's very American,

but it's British. It's really freaking good. It's about a guy who gets shot and he gets put on leave as a cop, but he comes back to do cold cases. It's great. Like mystery? Yeah, it's a who-done-it type thing,

but it's nine episodes, which is kind of long now, but yeah, it's excellent. It's called Department of Q. It just came out, so that's new. And then we finished Last of Us, which is HBO Max. Anybody watching that?

No. Man, it is awesome. I didn't play the video game, but it's based off a video game. And it has Pedro Pascal in it, who I didn't know he was in Narcos. Oh, yeah. He's so good in Narcos. I've seen Narcos, and I've seen other Pedro Pascal things. I didn't realize because I've seen Narcos, but it was so long ago.

And then on Netflix on the front it says, hey, go back and watching the show you've already seen Narcos. I was like, Pedro Paso was in Narcos? That's crazy. Did you go back and watch it? No, I just looked at the picture. It was crazy. So those would be the two that I'd recommend. What's you and your wife's like watching schedule?

Because I know you have five kids, so. It's really late at night as we get in and finally all the kids go to bed. And it's usually around 10.30 as my wife's done her facial routine and all that stuff. And we finally get to sit down and watch a show for ourselves. It's no daytime watching unless I get on the treadmill or something like that. But now with the kids out for school, they're around all the time. So we're just always going. Let's power rank that NFL teams going into 2026.

Okay. It's 25, but they'll call it. the 26th because that's when it ends. Let's power rank the NFL teams. And we can go 1 to 5 or 5 to 1. Are you going to go from your brain? So you're going to go 1 to 5 then from your brain. 1 to 5.

Okay, go ahead. You can do 1 through 5. Okay, I have to go with the Eagles is number 1. I know they lost some defensive personnel, but Howie Roseman, he knows how to reload, and they still have A.J. Brown. They've still got Smith. They've got Dallas Goddard coming back in. Guess what? Saquan Barkley and hurts?

I mean, they've got the best offensive line. So to me, they're primed to go do it again. Number two? Number two, I'm going to go, I'm a believer still in the Baltimore Ravens. Like, I just think they re-signed Derek Henry. You've got Lamar Jackson. They got weapons both at the wide receiver in tight-end position. I know that their defense, there's more to be desired last year, but they addressed it.

And so I think that they're going to be better defensively. And they're just a difficult team to go up against because of the physicality and the way that they play often. I think that Baltimore is going to be in a great position to battle for it again. Number three, I really like the Buffalo Bills again. I mean, reigning MVP, Josh Allen. I think the offensive line, all five starters are returning. They've got a good nucleus of players at the wide receiver position. And defensively, they drafted defensive help and brought in Bosa as well, Joey Bosa,

to help on the defensive end. I believe that they're going to compete again for a championship. Let's see, where am I going from here, guys? I mean, you've got to put Kansas City in the mix. They just were in the Super Bowl. They've been in, what, four Super Bowls in the past six years or something like that. So I'm going to go Kansas City, firm believer in Patrick Mahomes. I think that they've put some investment into the offensive line.

Defense kind of has been more of the biggest reason. why they've been winning these last few years because offense, they kind of fell down statistically, but just give it a year and give motivation to Patrick Mahomes. And I think that he'll be back in the mix. And the final one that I'm going with, I like Tampa Bay. How about Tampa Bay? Baker Mayfield, Chris Godwin's coming back. You get a Mecca, Bucca, you got Mike Evans defensively. I like Todd Bowles and what he does defensively, and they're in a division, which I think that they're going to be

the top dog in the division. How about that? Yeah, fine. All that's fine. Fine. I don't have the Ravens in my top five. Typical. Why is that typical?

I don't know, because you're probably going to put Dallas in your top five. I don't disrespect the Ravens. They'd probably be at six, and I like the Ravens, but I'll go, number one, mostly based off his recent pictures, because, golly, he looks jacked, and he looks motivated.

secondarily because they just win. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. You don't think somebody is coming out of a single game, which was the Super Bowl. He was embarrassed, more motivated all offseason than he's ever been his entire life. Or Patrick Mahomes used to get, oh, look at that dad bod.

Dude, he is chiseled now. I don't think I've seen the pictures. He looks like a different dude. Really? Yeah, it was like a different. Just change his diet. I'm putting the chief. Chiefs at one.

Chiefs at one. Which is not anything crazy to say. Not far fetch. Yeah. And Eagles are two. Okay. Which is not anything crazy to say. Nope.

They just played each other's Super Bowl. All good. I don't bet against the Chiefs ever. Yeah. Ever. And the Eagles have been in the Super Bowl, you know, twice in the past three years. Yeah. So it's hard to say.

It's hard to say that those teams are going to have a dramatic fall off. So there we go. So that's one and two. Number three. the Lions. If Aiden Hutchinson, and I watched this video of him running,

cutting, doing the cone drills, and it looks fine. And I think he was just trying to show, hey, look, I'm kind of back. I don't think he was trying

to show him all the way back because I don't think he's all the way back. I don't think he even thinks anybody thinks he's all the way back. If he gets right, and I think had he been right in the postseason, I think the lion's season would have ended different.

I'm not saying they would have won the Super Bowl. I'm not saying they would have beat the Eagles, but I do think that storybook has a different ending with that season last year. Well, they had how many starters? Like 10 starters out on the defense side of the ball. They were playing with a makeshift defense last year, plug and play guys that they're bringing in off the street because of the amount of injuries that they sustained. The only issue I have sometimes at Detroit is you look at, they lost both their coordinators. That's a big adjustment. But when you look at the offense side of the ball, they got their dudes coming back.

And when you think about Gibbs and Montgomery, the way that they run the ball behind that offensive line, I mean, they're going to be really good. And golf is playing at a really high level. Yeah, golf, here's what's wrong with golf, is that golf didn't, although he did make a Super Bowl with the Rams. Golf wasn't dynamic in Los Angeles. So now we just assumed golf is just, meh, fine, find a pretty good. But actually, he's a really good quarterback. And he's a perfect system fit for what they're trying to do. with run the ball, hard play action, push the ball down the field,

the Amman, Ron St. Brown, there you go. Williams, those guys. I mean, and he's accurate, right? He's accurate. Now, he's not going to be the dynamic player outside with his athleticism, but that's not what they're asking him to do. They know their personality and their identity, and they're going to go out and stick to that.

And he's perfect for that for the Detroit Lions. And number four, the Buffalo Bills. Everything you said. At number five, I didn't put the Raven. there. And the reason I put the lions above the next two teams that are AFC teams is because I think the NFC is a little easier to come out of.

Because the AFC is so stacked that I think the lions have the edge and my ranking over the bills and my number five team, but just simply because they're from the NFC. And there are less teams to kind of weed through to get there. Where you do have Baltimore, Kansas City, Buffalo, who's at four with me, and the Bengals,

who's at five? And you never know what Pittsburgh's going to do once. Yeah, we do. They're going to go 9 and 8. We do know what they're going to be. They'll have a winning record. Yeah, they're going to have a winning record. If they can get the Trey Hendrickton deal done,

I have the Bengals at 5. I like that. I mean, they got two absolute number one alphas on the outside. Joe Burroughs is as good as it gets. If their offensive line can protect him and do what they do, but Trey Hendrickson is going to be the most important aspect of that defense because he's the leader of that defense. Well, it's the only one that actually plays defense.

I think they have one guy. It's like 11 versus one, and he's like the one that's got to beat all 11 to get back to it. And he usually does. And he does, yes. So let's sign that guy. Yeah, so that's my five. Baltimore's obviously, arguably, in that mix as well.

But the AFC is so much harder to get out of. They're stacked. Because of the quarterbacks. Mm-hmm. I mean, the quarterbacks and just the physicality that some of these conferences have, particularly the North. I mean, when you think about Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Cincinnati, and who am I missing?

That whole group right there, they just beat each other up. Kansas City? Kansas City's in the West. Oh, I thought you mentioned with the AFC. Oh, well, yeah, just AFC in general, for sure. I mean, quarterback play, AFC. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Joe Burrow. I mean, those are, you could argue those are the top four quarterbacks.

Franchise quarterbacks in the league right now. in the NFL. So, yeah, let's go Lions. Let's go Lions. I didn't even entertain the Lions as my team because they've been good the last couple years. Traditionally been terrible forever, but I feel like that would be a bandwagoner,

like I'm seeing a stock already go up, and the stock can have already peaked. Yes, but you also, you've got to love the personality of the head coach, Dan Campbell. Yeah, and what's weird to me about Dan Campbell. The weirdest thing about Dan Campbell is he's an offensive guy. He seems, he looks, he sounds like a defensive guy.

Just like an interior defensive line. And just meathead. We're going to take your kneecaps off. We're going to eat your caps for lunch type guy. But he is an offensive-minded dude. He has nothing about him that says, I am an offensive guy. Yet he's awesome.

But I think that's what makes him so intriguing. Because he's got that grit And he's rough around the edges, but he also, he's honest, right? He tells it as it is. And I love that about them. So I guess the official cutoff was a few days ago. Okay. So one year ago from just a couple days ago. Highest paid athletes. There's only for the whole year, for 2024 May to May 2025. Okay. So one year. There's only one football.

player on the list. I was going to say. Who do you think it is? Top 10 Patrick Mahomes. No. Really? And when you learn why? Travis Kelsey? No. You'll go. I thought because he sold his podcast for $100 million. That didn't work. Well, he had to split that also with his brother. Well, well, it's still $50 million. Sure. And then I'm sure there are other investors. But listen, we're just. Okay. So that wasn't it. That's not it. I'll read you down the list. I'm going to skip the one football player. Okay. Number one. This is in one year. Here, Ronaldo, $275 million. Oh, my gosh.

Holler at me, Ronaldo. The 40-year-old soccer icon tops the list for the third consecutive year, $275 million. Mostly that's because he went to Saudi and played for a club over there, and they just paid him a whole bunch of extra money to come over there. Not a bad idea. Number two. Oh, question. Who do you think the highest paid?

This is overall. This is endorsements. This is salary, basketball, NBA. because this is the number two person on the list overall. It's not LeBron. And I will, if you're floating. Steph Curry. What's your answer?

Steph Curry. 156 million. Steph Curry. Nice job. Boom. Thank you. The Golden State Warriors became the first NBA player to reach 4,000 career three-pointers. He made 156 million bucks last year.

It's a good year. Number three is a boxer. A boxer? Mm-hmm. It's not Canelo. You do the game where you say what it's not to see if you'll get a reaction. I will not give you a reaction. Because you've tried it twice now.

I'm on to you. You're on to me. You're sniffing me out, man. You're too smart for me. You're a little lure down there. Here comes to fish. Not taking it. Who's the one boxer?

and signed a 15-year contract. Does they help at all? No. Wonsetto. Oh, he didn't sign a massive contract. 15 years. You need that. If you're going to play for the Mets,

you better give me a lot of money for a lot. A lot of money. to leave the Yankees. Yeah. I'm going to tell you this is a soccer player. I can give you 100 guesses. And I'm not going to get it. Nor would I.

in terms of advertisement and all that stuff? Yes. You'd think that he'd make a lot more than one set out. I also theorize, if I shall theorize with really limited knowledge

that they don't know all the money. money everybody makes. True. So they're just assuming, or they're basing it on the money they know people make, because they don't know if people own restaurants

or houses or flip, you know. True. Number 10, the third basketball player, this is the final person on the list. Can you nail number 10? The only basketball player that is on the list other than Steph and LeBron, and he made $101.1.4 million,

name that basketball player. Name that basketball player. You want to say Canelo, don't you? I so do right now. Um, Grant. Yeah. Yeah.

Look at me. Look at me coming out of the one. That was your throwaway answer and you were, you wanted to say nothing. But I nailed it. No, but you were like, I don't know, just what is it? Then you went, Durant. I'm not even sure you said Durant.

You might have just grunted. But yes, Kevin Durant made $101.1.4 million. The Sun's forward rounded up to top 10 with $101.1.4 million. So now we're back to the football player at number four. So Tyson Fury made $146 million at number three. Lionel Messi made $1. 135 million at number five. Who is the only NFL player?

It's not Patrick Mahomes. It's not Travis Kelsey. He's at number four on the list. Jalen Hertz. Same division. Dak Prescott. Correct. Wow.

Good for him. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback secured $137 million because his signing bonus. No deal. Yep. So next year won't be near that because he won't have a signing bonus. obviously he's not signing a new contract but because of his signing bonus and then his

contract extension obviously getting paid more of the 60 million or whatever those numbers are absurd yeah I was gonna ask you about money because there's some similarities to our jobs especially and I'll just speak open and honest and a bit candid here especially at the level that we both done them to do my job there's a fraction of people that make a enough to be comfortable and even smaller fraction enough to be wealthy. True. At this point in my life, I'm in that fraction of a fraction. And it's pretty cool.

I'm not going to lie to you, especially growing up how I grew up. It's awesome. My shelf life can be as long as I produce and stay ahead. But that's a lot of brain. Yes. So I started probably making really good money. I like my first years, I'll just kind of walk through it so I can get right in my head. My first year's, I mean, I started as a teenager.

I was making $6 an hour. My first contract I ever signed was for $23,000 a year. And that was when I was 21 years old. My first ever morning show contract when I thought I was rich was $50,000 a year. In Austin, I was 23. You're moving up the ladder quick. Dude, I thought I was rich as crap at $50,000 a year. Like I was like I don't have to like look and see if I how much I have that I can spend on groceries after bills.

Yes. I started to really kill it about 13 years ago before I moved here because they paid me a lot to leave what I was because I owned my company. I built my own company, my own syndication company with my own money. And my shelf life can be 25 years, 30 years if I play it right. As an athlete, you generally don't have that, even at the most elite level. Right. It's finite. If you're getting paid a lot at times, you were getting paid a lot.

After your rookie deal was over, like, let's say we went to Kansas City, you signed your big deal. Like, do you, how does money affect you when you know it's not going to last? When there is, you don't know what it is, but you kind of know when that window's closing. Right. Well, you've got to have some kind of financial literacy, and they try to educate you when you come into the league. They have all these different platforms and speakers come in. But at the same time, it's up to the individual and the person to understand. And they try to hit home to every player.

Look, guys, this job that you do, if you're lucky, you know, five, 10 years, you're considered a true veteran at that point and hopefully have put away some of your cash. But I was lucky enough to play 14 years. A lot of guys aren't that lucky. So you have to understand that there is an end game and you try to prepare for that. But when you're making that type of money, you also have to put the right people around you in terms of financial advisors and people that can help you along the way to understand the long game. Because say you don't make another dollar from this point on, and I've retired at 35, 36.

Did you think about that when you're 31? Like, I'm going to have to retire in the next few years just because of age? Well, you know that you're closer to the end than you are to the beginning. So when you get to your 10, 11, you start just kind of investigating different things that you could do after you're done with football. And that's the hard part for every football player. You have to come to grips with that because you're used to competing. You're used to the scheduling. You're used to all those things and making damn good money.

The checks. The checks. And they come in frequently. And then all of a sudden, that abruptly ends. And they have all the different programs. It's the 401k and the annuity program and all those things that you've had throughout your career. But that's not going to have the longevity of what you just made over those 14 years. So you have to be smart and be able to calculate out.

And then at the same time, for me, it was I needed to go find something else to do because I couldn't just sit around. And I'm lucky and blessed that I'm around my kids while they're growing up a lot. While football season and college football, I'm traveling a little bit more, but still it's weekends versus being gone all week and working that nine to five and doing those things. So I've been pretty blessed in that sense. Did you worry about checks drying up, though? Like, what are you going to do when the checks don't come anymore? I'm going to come talk to you, obviously. I'm going to try to use my brain a little bit more, I guess.

Because I think that would freak me out. It does every day. I mean, I think for every individual, especially when you're a father and your husband, you're taking care of a family and you're doing all those things, you look at that and worry about it, but you can't become so consumed by it. You just have to be smart with your money and understand where you're at. And at the same time, try to go out and make a living doing something different than what you did before. Did you feel, even though you didn't know it was the last few years of your playing career,

that you were already putting in roots in other areas to work, meaning media or, you know, business venture capital. I'm just saying words. I don't know rich people use. I don't know. But did you start, like, thinking about other things that you could do once it ended? You do to a certain extent. And at the same time, if you don't go in and have complete focus on what you're doing in the NFL and the NFL,

then you're not going to be there for long, even when you're a veteran quarterback. So you've got to put 100% in it. But you start investigating because a lot of times people come to you while you're playing to invest in this, to put money in this. And everybody's got a great idea. And so then you start looking, okay, more so from just an investor standpoint, what can I do to keep my mind occupied? Because it's one thing to stroke a check.

It's another thing to have to prepare for something to go out and work at it, try to get better, get good feedback, whether it's public speaking, whether it's doing a podcast or doing media. So it's all these different things that are starting to come to the mind, but it's starting from coaching. Coaching. Coaching is another one. But you're starting from zero, right?

A lot of people. Kind of. You have good connections. You are former Pro Bowl quarterback, freaking Matt Gassel. Right, but you also have people that have been in, if you wanted to go into finance, so to speak, or something like that. You've had somebody that's been there since they were 22 grind away, and you're coming in trying to learn just the lay of the land.

And so you're kind of already behind in that sense. And so you've got to play catch-up. But again, it's another option for you to go out and work hard and find something that you're passionate about. Another bonus that I have in my contract is minor guaranteed deals. And now baseball and basketball have that NFL doesn't. That's why you want to fix. But you didn't have that luxury.

No, we didn't have that luxury. So if you get hurt, you break a freaking femur. Right. And you're 32. You'll have an injury settlement and they'll say, thank you, but you can't help us anymore. And the next person will roll right up and take your position. That's just, you know, and the nature of the NFL for so long was, as I said, they would give you those bonuses for year one or year two of a four to six year contract. But as soon as year three hit, it was at the discretion of the team whether or not they thought one you could play, whether you fit in the salary cap, and they could cut you for any reason.

So that money that they talk about after year two, that really was just if you made the team. Whereas now you're seeing guys sign four-year deals and really start with Kurt Cousins. I mean, he was the trailblazer for the NFL and getting that first guaranteed contract. And now you're starting to see guys get a 100 million guaranteed. Kurt Cousins also just did that with Hedlin. Sean Watson, best investment ever. Best investment ever, poor guy. Yeah, except not really.

Except just the opposite of poor guy. Yeah. I just felt bad about the Achilles. I was sticking to that. Yeah. Yeah. Some would say that's a karma Achilles. Yeah, a lot of those fans thought that.

Do you think NIL money for these college kids is bad for rookie motivation? No, because if this is something that you want to do for a living, you've got to be all in, like I said, and you have to be self-motivated. You don't make it in the NFL unless you're self-motivated. So you could make all the money for playing collegiate sports right now, but now you start as a rookie and you got to go earn it. And I don't think it takes away from rookie motivation. I just think it's one of those, all these guys, if they've gone through the process, played in college, and now they're at the level that they finally want to get to,

this is their profession. And in order to make it, they got to go out and grind. I think my presentation would be similar to yours, where I think the answer is it does, not hurt rookie motivation but I think where it actually helps let's use Caleb Williams let's use let's even go to the NBA like Cooper Flagg according to sources now made about 23 million dollars his freshman year at Duke and just NIL made 23 million that's amazing so what you can do though as a scout or personnel of an NFL team a lot of these kids come from very little and they are dumped into money as a first-round draft pick.

And it's almost like a homeschool kid going to a public school or to college. Because I had some friends who were that, and that's not all. But my friends that went to homeschool and went to college went freaking crazy when they got to college for a year. That's right.

For a year. For a year. Yes. And some of them never came back and some of them adjusted well. But there was a wild period. Yeah. I think with these athletes that are 18, 19 years old

that are making this money in college and they have that money, they're able to have that period of having money for the first time. And as personnel, you can see how they acted and reacted to money. Right. And it will not be new to them once they are in the NFL. Heck, it's going to be less for a bit.

For sure. And you're seeing these kids grow up so much earlier because these contracts are not just happening when they come in as a freshman. These are starting to get negotiated when they're 16, 17, 18, if you're a big time recruit. So they have to have more financial literacy than ever before. And they also have agents and all those things. that go in, it used to be one of those,

when you get to a senior and you're finally draft eligible, that's when it all starts. And then you get some money when you come in as a rookie now. They have money and they've had representation and they understand just the entirety of how the process works. So they're a little bit more educated and smart in terms of how to use that money. And it's less new, so it's less something else they have to learn

while they're learning everything else. Right, and they already got their Bentley. So that's good. That's pretty cool. That's pretty cool. Okay, three other things. I want to do my list. I'm going to do my Bobby's big list.

I made a list this week of NFL players that could have been dropped in any era and they'd have still been awesome. Great. I was talking earlier about how it's hard to compare players from the 50s to the 90s, from the 60s, the 2000s, because you really can only compare

against who they played against because styles, because science, because education, knowledge, was all different. Right. So at number seven, regardless of what era he played in,

Before I say that, I'll tell you who I did not put on the list, a Patrick Mahomes. Because I think a guy like Mahomes thrives because, one, the offensive system he's in, the offensive coordinator that he has, and his style of ball that he played at Texas Tech, which is why he even played at Texas Tech. Right. Like he needs, and had he played in like the 60s, they would not have run. Under center, play action pass, two receiving routes, just absolutely mailed. Yes.

Yes, I agree. It's different errors. So at number seven, Calvin Johnson. Oh, yeah. He just was such a specimen, 6-5, 4-3-speed. Megatron. Even if they have one receiver and a leather helmet,

you just throw it up to the guy. It doesn't matter. Or line him up in the backfield, I'm sure he'd run through everybody in the 60s. He was phenomenal. At number six, and I'm saying he could be dropped into today, because this is an older player,

Lawrence Taylor. Oh, yeah. He fits the mold of, that hybrid outside linebacker defensive end can move them around so versatile. But his first step in the violence that he played with, oh my gosh. Eraproof is what I was called. The thing he would have to adjust is not killing people, though, because he get flagged a lot at first. Yes.

Like, hey, stop taking their heads off, man. Coach Belichick, that was his favorite player. When he came in and spoke to us, he'd do the history lessons, they'd call it, basically, and he'd go and go from the wingtie. and then how the modern offense is evolved over the years. But then he'd go back and show us old clips of people from when he coached with the Giants. And LT was his dude.

He told the greatest story ever one time. He said they were getting ready for a game. It was like a walk through the day before. LT is like running a little wheel route messing around, sprains his ankle. They don't think he's going to be able to go. And it's a big game the next day. And I forget what game he talked about.

Well, there's a horse track, right there in the metal lands where they were playing. He went across. Supposedly, the story goes that he got shot up with like a horse tranquilizer in his ankle comes out, has like six sacks, goes off, doesn't miss a snap. LT's like, yeah, coach, I'm ready to go. It was a phenomenal story. That's awesome.

Yeah. Number five, Rob Grinkowski. Now, think about him, and I would drop him in depending on the era in different places. So a tied in in the era he was in, tied in now. But he also, 60 to 70s, would have been a massive linebacker, a defensive end, a defensive tackle. Like I think Grant could have played anywhere because of his size and athleticism. So I think Gronk is era proof, but I think he probably would have played different positions because that tied in position was much more of a blocker until the last 25 years.

Right, which he's a heck of a blocker too. But like you said, he could line up on offensive. line. He could line up on the defensive side of the ball. He was just that type of unique talent, especially because of how physical he was. Deon Sanders at four, you take him, you put him now, he's still one of the greatest to ever do it. True. He is like a Travis Hunter before Travis Hunter. Yeah, untouchable. Number three, Trent Williams. Oh, gosh, he's so good. I love watching that guy play. And you love having him on the offense inside of the ball, because a lot of times you talk about those guys that are super gritty and

tough and all those things and you talk about defense alignment, but he's one of those guys that sets the tone for the offensive alignment. Any young offensive lineman coming up, I would watch Trent Williams because he plays the game in such a way that he is an intimidating figure. When they drop Trent William's stats

regardless of if it's micro, macro, macro, like career or year, it's like Trent Williams, the guy lined up, hasn't even seen the quarterback since 1941. You're like, dang, he hasn't even seen. the quarterback. That's awesome. Pretty good. Number two, Derek Henry.

Yeah. I mean, Derek, could you imagine him back in the day? It wouldn't have mattered. He'd have played both sides of the ball. He would easily play both sides. He could play nose tackle back in the day. Because he's so fast. And this is where I think he has the advantage over Gronk as being one of those you can put anywhere. Is he's just faster, too. He's a massive guy,

but he's also faster. Oh, when he gets to open field, he's like a 22 mile per hour guy. Like in this... Nobody catches. In the 70s, he can play defensive back. He could have played everything. Yes. And he looks like a defensive end. I'm not lying to you.

He looks exactly like a defensive end. At number one, players you could drop in any era and they would still be freaking amazing. And I'm not going to ask you to guess mine because, again, I made the list. But is there anybody you think of that comes to your mind where you're, I'm kind of putting you on the spot here where you go, man, it didn't matter when you put them in.

40s, 50s, 20, 25. They'd have been awesome. Reggie White. Good one. Reggie White was one of those guys. guys. I love to watch it. Athleticism, fast, strong. Oh, just would club people. Yeah, that was good. Absolutely club people. Mine is not Reggie. That's a great one. I probably would have put around the list if I thought of him. Aaron Donald. Aaron Donald. He was. Did you play against him?

We did. And I did. And he is just an absolute harassment each and every snap because he would line up in different positions. And you're trying to create double teams or slide the protection to him to get some help from the center to give the guard. But because they would move him around and he was smaller in terms of just stature, but he was so strong and quick off the ball that it was a mismatch versus those interior offense alignment all the time. You have to give help to him, which would free up other people. He's like, this term is used in other ways and, you know, not meaning in that way, but he's like an

illegal alien, meaning he should be illegal and he plays like an alien because he's like a little small. Right. But he's so freaking, let me find the perfect word. Substantial. Ooh. He is a substantial human being.

He's so, it's almost illegal how much he dominated or had to take sometimes double teams or the occasional double team with a chip. I would see that. All the time. If you're an offensive unit, you're coming in a game playing the L.A. Rams, you're sitting there, and the first thing that you talk about is Aaron. How do we block him?

How are we going to handle him? them. In the run game, we're going to try to run right at him. We're not going to try to run away from him because he's going to track you down from behind. In the past game, how are we going to turn protection? Even though we know that they've got some other dudes out there, but this is the guy we have to block because wreaking havoc on the interior part of the offensive line, that's the biggest issue for quarterbacks because you feel that push in your face. And that's what's so disruptive. If you can step up in the pocket, it's one thing. But when you feel that right now, it's really difficult to go out there and perform at a high level. Well, the guy like Aaron Donald, even though, did you feel him even if he wasn't close because you always had to have an eye or an ear to know where he was coming from? Well, you try not to chase ghost. And you always know that that's the game record coming in. And so when you're dropping back, you're like, oh, is he coming? Is he not?

But you just try to put that out of your mind and keep going. But like I said, we are always very cautious when we'd go up and turn protection opposite of him because we never wanted to leave him one-on-one. So you're always thinking about them. Yeah, I feel like that would be getting chased by ghosts. That's what I would be doing. I'd be running from a ghost. They're like, he's not even playing today.

It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. I'm out of here. It doesn't matter. Okay, so here's what we have. Last week we said if you go to, and Spotify was where you could put a comment under the podcast. And we said, right, Matt Castle is my daddy. And we would send somebody a sign Matt Castle jersey.

and we'll end on this I invited my friend Matt here to go on a golf trip we just went for a day 24 hours and we went over to we stayed at so the owner of vast pro shops Johnny Morris has so much in this area

of Missouri near Branson that's what's hometown so he like wants it to be amazing like his legacy is this area and so he has this place called Big Cedar Lodge it's just part of what he owns which by the way they just built an arena Rolling Stones just played there really and then they yeah yes and then they stayed at Big Cedar Lodge for like five days on vacation that's pretty big deal The Rolling Stones.

That's crazy. They came from Europe. Is that big Jagger play minigoff? I don't even know if they have minigoff. But, yes, so they play there. I think Garth opened it up. Wow. So he has made this town culturally relevant to all of America,

but sometimes it is so hidden because it is in the middle. It's right in the middle of Missouri. Is it hard to get there? No, it's very easy to get there. It's like near Springfield. Okay. So we flew from here by 45 minute flight, pretty easy. We get there 24 hours.

We stay in a cabin that was so sick. It's on my Instagram, Mr. Bobby Bones. And there were four of as me, brother-in-law, father-in-law, Eddie, the four that played Brandon and went and Brandon shot a bunch of content. And they have this course called Paines Valley. And I've been lucky enough to play Pebble Beach,

like Pebble Beach Pro Am and Spyglass. And a lot of these courses that I probably have no right to play, it's that. It's easily comparable. It's that. The only thing Pebble Beach has is the history of watching on television.

Right, for sure. And like the fame. And it's right on the, but I'm telling you, this pain, they have four or five courses there. Some of them have PGA tournaments. They got four or five courses

at this one spot. And Mac, I'm talking about if you're a golfer, this is where you want to go. And some people don't know about it. And they didn't pay me, by the way, because it was such a last minute thing.

I was like, right. That's what I come and play. We went to Payne's Valley and played and it was A plus. So then after, they say, hey, we're building this place called cliffhangers.

It's a par three. The whole course is a par three. It's not done, but you can play the 11 holes that are finished. It's going to be an 18 part three. It might be the most fun golf experience I've ever had. Really? Why? Because first of all, it's a plus as far as the niceness of the course.

Right. But it's so it is Premier, right? Yeah. We actually played 13 holes. They opened two of the holes for the very first time ever for us. You got to be the first ones to play them? Two different holes. holes, yeah. There's one you're in a cave and there's water coming down and you have to hit it through the water onto the...

Come on. Oh, through the water, over the water on a green. It is crazy. It opens in like a few months. On that one, good. I don't remember. We played a whole tournament. I won the whole tournament because there are only four of us. Yeah. But I think I shot. The greens, though, are difficult because the greens are, some of them are shelved. Oh, yeah. That's really difficult. And they're not doing like really hard greens. They're doing obnoxiously hard parts of the greens that are like hilarious.

That you like it's just ridiculous unless you really know what you're doing. Even if you know what you're doing. No, not on the part three because it's there's no reason. No, that was part three. Okay. Oh, but we didn't take caddy for either one. Either one. Okay.

When Cliffhangers is done and they only took us like an hour and 15 minutes to play that because it's a part. The course is A plus nice like any course I've ever been on. But it's all part three's island greens. I'm telling you it was the best. 24-hour golf experience I've ever had. We would have stayed three or four days if we could have. I'm glad that you guys had so much fun. I was in Elizabeth Town.

Kentucky? Yes, for baseball tournament. That's okay. That's okay. No, it was much better than what you experienced. It was a plus. And it's hard for me to be impressed because I'm very jaded at this point.

I'm sure. People will call and be like, come and do this, hoping I talk about it. They did not call me. I called and was like, it was all me, like, begging. That's incredible. It was awesome. We'll go back up sometime.

I definitely don't want to hit them back up and be like, can we come up again in three weeks? Is it okay if we come up? Can I bring me from Matt? Matt wants to play. Matt didn't get to play. Have you seen my golf ball? But maybe on like a weekday or something, we go up there.

Yes. Dude, I'm telling you, it, I don't even know what to say. It was like the best golf experience I've ever had in my life. Sounds. Like you really felt it. You felt every part of that course. And I didn't, and I'm not like a great golfer.

I'm a 12. But still, just the experience itself. Absolutely. Plus it had to be cool to have brother-in-law, father-in-law there. How are they at golfing? Brother-in-law is a little better than I am. Oh, that pisses you. I beat him in the par three tournament, though.

He beat me in the par four. I beat him in the part three, but par four was a little more valuable. I would say par four is a little bit more valuable. Yeah. So he's a little bit better than I am. but he probably plays a little more than me. Yeah. He's more of a natural athlete than I am too.

So I think if we played the exact amount, he'd still be a little better than me. Are you just saying that? No, because he's a college baseball player. No, I would outgrind him. I'd outwork him. I'd out work him. Like, if I was focused, I'd out work him and take him. Yeah.

And it hurts for me to say he's a little better than me. I'm surprised. It really hurts. I was shocked. I thought he'd be like, look, if I just played a little bit more, I hit a few more balls. But I do think that's true. I do think that's true.

But I don't think right now I'm better than him. Okay, right now. So as irrational and disillusioned as I can be, at times in my own confidence, or in my own abilities, because I think I have to be irrational about what I can do or I'll never be able to do it. I still am a tick lower than he is. But you're there. You're close. If I put a little at work into it, I take him.

I like it for sure. See, that's where I was getting to. It was A plus. Maybe we'll do it again. Maybe I hit him out. I would hate to ask on a weekend again anytime soon. No. That would be difficult.

Because I know they kind of pulled some strings. Were you guys the first group out? They offered that to us because we had a drone. Oh. And we flew a drone. We shot footage on the drone. Helped the drone go. Well, terrible until, I mean, no, excellent until Brandon crashed into the water.

He crashed into the river. How did you crash the drone? Battery died. Oh, yeah. Okay, so it wasn't your fault. Well, yeah, it wasn't his fault. It's my drone. We never used it before.
