It's Matt Castle. I'm Bobby, and I'm going to start us off with my power rankings. Yes, I love power rankings. It's about time. And last year, I got a lot of crap because I kept the chiefs in it pretty much every year until they died. I think they lost.

They were about at six or seven losses. They're still, I think, ranked number one. Yeah, even until they were, mathematically eliminated. I was like, they may change math. Maths might alter it. Something may happen where they make the playoffs. Okay, after week one, let's start with the power rankings at number five, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Kansas City Chiefs, deservedly so. Yeah. That was a statement when last night, or then two nights ago. Three nights ago? Well, when we record this, it was last night, but when people hear this, it'll be two nights, but yeah, you get it. Yeah, two nights ago. Yeah.

Kenneth Walker looked great. Man, do you just never know how it's going to work out, especially we, within an Andy Reed offense because they haven't had that type of dominant runner before, man, did he impress me? Because he carried that a whole entire offense and they needed it because they're protecting

Mahomes as well. He had 1951 total yards and two touchdowns. And I also was curious as to how he would do being the guy. We saw how he did as the guy once Charbonnet got hurt. But you got to think when Seattle was playing the entire

season, it was Kenneth Walker was RB1 but Sherbourne was already one and a half. But it's exciting to see Kansas City with a weapon because obviously they have Mahomes and obviously they got Papov playing tight end. He did end up with a second catch, which allowed me to beat you a fantasy, by the way.

Yeah, what the hell? It was that one catch that the guy missed on him and everybody was playing man and just run down the field. That was the difference of Kevin and I's game. Wasn't that like a 60-yard? Yeah. That's exactly what it was. And Jaylon Waddled did nothing.

He did nothing. He did absolutely nothing. Same. The entire receiving corps for the Broncos did absolutely nothing. So it's nice to see the chiefs with a weapon you know,

because wide receiver-wise, they've either had Xavier Worthy who runs real fast but can only run real fast. Only vertical. Or they got receivers

that are good but get suspended. And so then that it's just nice to have a weapon. So if I have Kansas City, I hope they do well. I'd love to see them win the Super Bowl.

I'm not a Kansas City fan. but I like when people are counted out. I love Caitlin Clark for that reason. I don't think Kansas City was counted out. You don't think Kansas City has already looked at as it has been? When they were listing all the teams to win the championship this year, Kent City's never mentioned. One, because Mahomes was coming off injury,

and two, because they haven't done it in a couple years. And also the whole entire secondary was depleted through free agency. They made the trade. They've got a lot of youth back there. There's a ton of reasons why people are speculating, but you still have Patrick Mahomes, and now you've got a run game to go with it. That's a dangerous combination.

At number five, the Kansas City Chiefs. Yes. At number four, I think they still might be scoring touchdowns right now, the Chicago Bears. What the heck? That was a good game. And I had a shout out to the Carolina Panthers because they actually look pretty good. Bryce Young looked good. Those receivers, they have three giant receivers.

Carolina does. They're all 6-2-6-3. I think Carolina is going to be good. Bryce Young threw for 369 yards in that game. They scored 37 points. There was no defense being. played in that game whatsoever. That being said, the bear scored 59 points. Yes. The bears had weapons everywhere. So I'm putting the bears at four. The bears feel like when the Bengals had no

defense, but they were scored, they just had to beat you by one. They were trying to win games 61 to 60, 52 to 51, like those like two seasons ago. That's what the bears felt like. And again, I know it's only week one, but there are so many weapons that they have offensively. I mean, Luther Burden is a dude for sure. Colston Lovell as a dude. And also, Caleb Williams, I don't even get scared when he's stolen off his back foot across his body. I'm just like, that's just a normal.

He's taken to a new level, right? We always knew he was a playmaker and had that, but he's playing within the system. But he'll extend plays, and you saw the one back across the field for 25 yards. He's just, his talent and skill set is uniquely special. It's maybe one or two other guys in the entire league that you can compare that to maybe Lamar Jackson,

Josh Allen, but he also can take off and run in Scamper for yards there too. And then you've got a running game with it with Swift and Kyle Minangai. Hey, he just looking... Swift was breaking off 15, 20, 25-yard runs constantly. I know. They score a lot of points.

I'm going to say right now, so premature, but top three offense in the NFL. Right. The concern is absolutely going to be the defense right now because they've got to prove it because they won a lot of close games last year. We're talking about one-score games in which the defense did not do them any favors. You go back to even the Cincinnati game last year, where they went right down

the field and scored, and then they scored with no time on the clock. There were so many of those instances that you just get worried that that could be their Achilles heel. And number three, I have the Buffalo Bills. Game of the week. I think the Texans and Bills was the game of the week, and it was a game that we thought, well, the Texans arguably have the best defense in the NFL. and Buffalo has Josh Allen and it really was not a defensive game by any means and CJ Stroud was doing his thing a little bit and he decided not to even, I say he decided,

they both decided not to move forward with trying to finish that contract is like I'm just going to bet on myself and so if it continues to roll like that for the Texans even though they lost, I think Stroud will be heavily compensated but I'm going to put the bills at number three because they played really well

against a really great defense. Josh Allen is the dude, no doubt about it. He threw for two touchdowns. He ran two, did he run two as well? Yes. He's Superman. That guy's unbelievable. As long as Superman is able to exist on that field

within the game clock running, Buffalo is going to be really good. But it all rests on Josh Allen. What do you think of DJ Moore? DJ Moore. I mean, he had over 100 yards He was everything that they anticipated when they brought him in. Obviously, the DB tried to get that interception on the sideline, completely took a bad angle,

goes for what, 60 on that? But then he had a 46-yard pass interference call where they had to go up and tackle him basically so he didn't. But really impress and another weapon for Josh Allen at his disposal, I think that he's going to have a huge year. It just gets cold. It's going to get cold. You know, I cry about the cold. I would hate being a wide receiver in Chicago because every time I catch a ball, you'd hear this.

Ow! That would be me. It'd be so, ow! Ow! I never thought so hard. Chicago, bills, there's so many different. Buffalo, too, yeah. Buffalo's brutal.

New England can be at times. I mean, those outdoor stadiums in those type of situations are just brutal. I don't feel any worse about the Texans, though. I don't know if you guys do. This is not a game where Buffalo wins, and I go, oh, the Texans aren't what I thought they were. I think you had two really great teams playing each other,

and they played a really great game. And you're encouraged about what you saw from C.J. Stroud. Yeah, because with C.J. Stroud, to me, I felt like a defense is so good that he's just going to be a slightly elevated game manager. But I think from what we saw, well, because Buffalo also kept scoring.

So they're going to have to score. And he has the ability to do that. I think we saw both those quarterbacks, both in losses, Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud, one and two, the quarterback's drafted. I guess it's a flip, though, because Bryce went one. Have good games and hopefully good careers, because what a weird draft that whole situation-wise. But that's it. I got the bills. Yeah, I like that a lot. I just think week one is always such an outlier for every team, both offensively and defensively. And what you see in week one, everybody has these overreactions and this, that, and the other.

But because of how you have to prepare for week one as you're preparing for the unexpected, because you really don't know what they're going to be when you get on that field and you have to make in-game adjustments, that so many radical things come out of this, like all these stats that we saw, the offensive production, but hopefully by week two, you start to see everybody settle in and understand

what they need to do to play better defense. And number two, I've got the Baltimore Ravens. They just looked good. And I think the Colts might be a little better than we thought. But Baltimore just looked good offensively first because Lamar looked great. Derek Henry was a guy dang train. Oh, my God. It's King Henry, baby.

He's coming downhill. Don't stand on the tracks when the Choochoo's coming through. But the Choochoo's not 25. The Choochoo's like 32 or 33 now. He still looks like he was 25. The Ravens looked great. And they hired the offensive coordinator. He was 29 when they hired him.

I think he's 30 years old. Now he's 30, yeah. He had a birthday since I hired him. Yeah, that was saying. Yeah, that's what he hired him at 29. 29 and then he's 30. He's 30. Yeah, yeah.

Thanks for telling us how old he was when they hired him. Well, that was the story. That was super important. But he's 30. They had hired, what, Declan Doyle, I think is his name. That he was 29 when they hired him to be the coordinator, which, you know, kids do the darndest things. Yeah, but they knew he was going to turn 30.

That's a good point. I think about that. They knew he was going to turn 30 before week one. Dang. You know what the interesting part, though, about Baltimore. They lose A Flowers in the first half. Who went off for, what, $150 and just one half of football? And he looked apart. When they decided to pay him this offseason,

they were definitely seen as somebody that made the right decision after that first half. But then also Jacoby Lane, their other receiver that they drafted from USC, he has a fracture to theirs. He'll be out for multiple weeks. So you're down here with your top two wide receivers. What's the status with Aflowers? They're going to say day to day. Okay, if they say day to day, that feels pretty good. Because even if he misses a game, I think they're playing the Saints next week.

Not that the Saints are bad, because the Saints are going to be really good in the second half of every game, and they're going to be really good in the second half of the season. That's kind of how they do. Yeah, I get that. Tyler Shuck, though. It is day to day. Okay, so he probably plays in this weekend. He probably just got tired.

Don't be a hater. He just got tired. He's like, dude, he had 150. He's like, dude, what more can I do for you right now? I mean, let's let some of these other guys play. I got the Ravens at two. They had 506 yards of offense. Pretty good performance.

Man. And when they're good, their uniforms look great. It's like Jacksonville. When Jacksonville plays good, like I vibe with their uniforms. When they're bad, they're the worst uniforms in the NFL. They're just ugly, green, like Wizard of Oz, Emerald. It's just awful. Unless they're good, then you're like, I like the originality.

I can roll with this for sure. The other interesting part about Baltimore was they put Lamar under. center a lot more than what he's been in the past. And so that really opened up because you don't allow anybody to get a tail on which way you're going to run the football, but it also opened up the play action passing game. I think we're going to see more of it, but I was really intrigued by that because you haven't seen Lamar under center for an extended period of time during a game. And that was a big adjustment. Number one, the San Francisco 49ers. They beat the Rams 27 to seven. I think they played on the moon. There's a long trip. I'm not sure they're back yet,

and their NASA space shuttle. Here's the thing. When they're healthy. Oh, my God. How many Hall of Famers do you think they have on that team? Which side of the ball? Trent Williams, Kittle, McAfree, Fred Warner. Yeah, go defense now.

Bosa? Potential, Bosa, if he stays healthy. But they've got dudes. And nobody ever talked about them in the offseason because the splash was the L.A. Rams. But they were always hurt last year. Like defensively, half their team would show up in those full body casts. Yeah.

Can't get into the game right now. And so, yeah, we just kind of forgot what they are when they are whole. And so there was also like so much off-season drama. Coach gets in a car crash. Oh, yeah. All the stuff with Ayuk. Yeah. All that drama.

The aging roster. Like, how old are they going to? But man, they were so good. And Rahim Morris is. Great calling the defense. We, you know, we have Salah here now. He was great calling the defense there, but he didn't have the personnel

because they were all in the freaking hospital laid up. Yeah, and we didn't even talk about Mike Evans what a lift that is on the outside. He had six receptions, one touchdown. He looked good. Every one of his catches other than the touchdown went for a first down. He looked legit.

What about stripling, though? Somebody did get hurt already. Their rookie receiver. And he was the fantasy darling. Yeah. Like everyone... How hard? They said he's out at least a month.

Oh, really? Yeah. So the two that made honorable mention, and the only reason the Seahawks didn't make the top five is because they don't have a quarterback for a minute. For a minute. They've said it's not going to be as long as they thought with Sam Darnold, from what I understand.

Those are the reports I hear coming out of the camps. What I saw this morning is plenty is still unknown about what's happening with Sam Darnold. But I'm not going to put him in the top five, although, I mean, they're really good and they will be. But what, you... You don't believe in Drew Locke. No, I don't believe in Drew Locke.

And just his personality? Yeah, yeah, just personality. Okay. I don't know. A little cockiness and all that. But see, you don't have to go all the tag? It's not that because I enjoy a good amount of swag. But...

Yes, you do. You don't have to do it all the time. Like, we... It screams insecurity. Trust me, I have a lot of insecurity, and I show it in different ways, too. and he's fine. He's probably a top five backup in the NFL, and I think that works for Seattle.

I would have put them honorable mention. And the same thing with the Rams, I would have honorable mentioned, I will honorable mention the Rams, but... They didn't win. You don't have to win if you're playing... If you're playing...

They play the 49ers. And you went 14 hours a day before the game. And not only that, they lose their crown jewel of the off season in week one in Miles Garrett. That was wild. Four weeks? Four weeks, yeah. It feels very Aaron Rogers-esque.

And four weeks, too, you're talking about a scope, and then it's talking about getting him back in football shape because you've got to heal from the scope. You're not doing much for the first two weeks. That's a good point. So when he does come back and play, you know, that four-week mark? When they take him off IR and everything like that, is he the same guy that he was before the season started?

I don't know that. Maybe he is because we've seen miraculous recoveries. We saw Kittle out there who tore his Achilles' heel in January. We saw Mahomes last night. You said it tore as Achilles heel? Achilles. Yeah. Heel.

Not his heel. His Achilles heel. The Achilles heel. It was the Achilles heel of the heel, but the Achilles who's attached to the heel. So technically it tore off his heel. Yeah. But, I mean, you've seen some remarkable people come back from injury already. So if Miles Garrett were still playing, I probably would have put him around five or so.

But that is very unfortunate. If he would have just carried out the American flag and run it out, it had totally been Aaron Rogers. Do you know the actual story of the Achilles' hill? No, please. So it is Greek mythology, and it's basically when she dipped him in, the only thing she couldn't dip in the water is his heel. And so that was the... When she dipped him in?

So Achilles' mother, as an infant, was trying to make him immortal. And so what she did is she dipped him into the magical river, and the magical river that would keep him immortal. Obviously, every part of him that gets wet and touched by the water is able to keep him immortal, but she had to hold him by the heel, which is that the Achilles. Wow.

And so that's the part that couldn't get wet, because she couldn't get her hand wet. And so that's how he died. They shot him, according to the pathologist, shot him in the hill. That was just Achilles. No, these are all real stories.

You know, some people would say that's true. They're actually fascinating. I do love Greek mythology. But that is why he was shot by a poisoned arrow in his Achilles, the one spot he was vulnerable. Wow. They finally figured him out, huh?

Or just got very, there was just 10,000. It was coming out. It's very lucky. It's very lucky. Everyone's going, boom, boom, boom. He got hit 150 times. One of them just got him in the heel.

Okay, I want to hear your quarterback watch list. Quarterback watch list. It is Castle's quarterback watch list. Cackackackack. Cattles, quarterback watch list. Cassels. It's based off of the first week performance or every week's performance in what you're looking for the next week.

I'm going to pick three quarterbacks, maybe four quarterbacks, every week, figure it out, see what happens. But my watch list this week, it actually, you get a two-for-one this first game, but the first quarterback I'm going to go with is Carson Wentz, starting for the Vikings against the Bears. Why? Because of the performance they had last week, he had no turnovers, he threw three touchdown passes,

he brought them back and scored 22 points in the fourth quarter against Green Bay, who had the lead. There was no reason Minnesota should have won that game, especially with where Green Bay was in the third quarter. I think they were up 10 with five minutes left in the third quarter, but they exploded offensively. Justin Jefferson went off, and he just came in,

and that's why you have a veteran quarterback that has over 100 starts to his name, and Carson Winston, you don't go with JJ McCarthy because of performances like that. However, he does have another divisional game against the Bears this week. The Bears did not look good, but I would anticipate him having another big day

looking at what the Bears' defense did last week. So I'm putting him on the watch us, because this is a divisional game, and they could be up two in the division after this week. Here's the thing about Carson wins. He's Nick Foles. Any game could come out, throw for 3.50 and three touchdowns.

The next game against a lesser defense, 125 and two picks. Could. That's what most guys. No, yeah, and there's a lot of guys. The Matt Castle, I know, was not doing that. No, Matt Castle, I have a few hours. And, again, top five backup,

top three backup. glad they had him. I was so disappointed to see Kyle Murray have to leave the game. Oh my gosh. I was watching that clip and as he started running

I'm like, get down, get down and then the two guys converge on him and as soon as that hit I was like, oh no. I felt so bad. I'm so curious about Kyle Murray and the Minnesota offense, but yeah, Carson Wince is able to do it.

I just wouldn't be surprised if he was totally unable to do it the next week, not because of the defense, but because there's a reason Carson Wins is a backup and has been a backup for 11 teams at this point.

But I like your watch. I'll be watching. Hey, I'll be watching. Hey, why not? All right. Okay, on the other side of that, you've got to watch Caleb Williams against this spiking defense. Brian Flores, I think, is a masterful defensive coordinator. He's going to bring a lot of looks.

You saw him last week against Jordan Love and Green Bay. He brought almost 80% of the time he was bringing pressure. So he's going to get heated up this game. Obviously, last week, we saw Caleb William go out there and absolutely dominate four TDs, scored 59 points, 552 yards of offense. So will this offense look as explosive as they did last week first, I think a better and more of a quality defensive play caller? I am rooting for Caleb Williams,

and I feel like I'm rooting educationally because I do believe in his coaching staff now. And I do believe that his head coach is going to put him in a position to actually win games. Remember last year, whenever it was, I guess it was maybe can't, and Caleb Williams looked terrible.

And they were showing all the videos. Yeah. Of scrambling out to the right and throwing it up over. Just terrible. Just terrible, terrible, terrible. And everyone's like, it's processed, trust, trust, trust. I trust.

And I think the bears are going to be good. But I think about, I don't want to play wide receiver for the bear. They'd be like, ow. Ow, it's too cold. It's not cold yet. I'm a hand. I bet it's just 90 degrees up there

just like it is here. All right. All right, finally, we have Trevor Lawrence. We got Jagger. The guy, big Trevor Lawrence guy. Big Trapper Lawrence guy. The Broncos, he went 18 for 23 for 245. Four TDs, no interceptions.

They dominated the game, 34 to 10. So my big question with Lawrence is can he do it again and to create that consistency? Because you know that he has rapport. He probably had his best season of his career last year with Liam Cohn. This is now year two. He looked outstanding. He looked like he was in complete control of this offense.

He is going on the road against the Broncos defense. That is going to be really tough about their performance this last week. They're going to have something to prove, but can you go do it against another quality opponent? And not only tough, but really good. I mean, they're a top two or three NFL defense. I know. The two top defenses, like we've always said, is Houston and Broncos. Both those guys played awful this weekend for that.

Both of them gave up a bunch of points. So statistically, they're not the best. Yeah, not right now. Yeah, I would love to see Jacksonville do well because I want to like their uniforms. Because again, as soon as they don't, I hate their green. Didn't Jacksonville go out to the Broncos last year and play them and win on the road? Who are you asking? I don't know. I mean, he can look it up, I guess. I don't remember everybody's casual. Well, you know, they're not too scared.

I think the Giants were better than we thought. Yes. Like, you talk about the youth, but it's not the type of youth that doesn't seem like they can handle it. And now that Harbaugh's come in, they have this identity. They're going to come hit you.

How about is they likely? That was a great pickup this off season. but Jackson Dart looks apart Scataboo running between the tackles and that defense, did you see Abdul Karra come around the edge and blow up that counter to start the game and set the tone? Yeah, not only did I see that, I saw him

kill a couple screens. One, as it happened, and one, just keep it from happening. He's scary. He's scary. That defensive line and that defensive front is scary. And that's what the prediction was, because, again, they have invested a lot of draft picks and a lot of money into their defense. But,

It's a lot of youth as well, first and second year guys that they've drafted. But, man, they might really be good. They might really be good. And I like that because I've just bet so much money on the Cowboys to win. Why? What do you mean? Why did you do that? I would have told you the Giants were going to win.

No, I'm talking about to win the whole thing. To win the whole thing? Yeah, I put a solid future on the Cowboys. They won seven games last year. You know that right. But do you know where if Jacksonville went to Denver to play the Broncos? Do you know? Do you ever find that out?

If we're going to just cherry picks down? They did go and win, by the way. But the most important part about this is this is a seven-win team, and we're talking about Super Bowl aspirations. Everybody has Super Bowl aspirations. But let's just talk about trying to win the division, which they're not off to a good start there, in making the playoffs and winning a playoff game.

Super Bowl, I mean, that would be great for you in your pocket, especially because you bet them to win the Super Bowl. But the real thing. Realistically, I would have to say, we've got a little ways to go. I would agree with that, but I don't, if I'm betting on Buffalo or San Francisco or the Rams, the odds are not good enough. So I pick a- Oh, you need a little bang for your buck. Yeah, I pick a team that I think has some ceiling. Go with Jacksonville.

I don't like their uniforms. They won in Broncos last year. I know, I heard. I heard from Kevin that they won last year. So I think the Giants can be really good, and this is for everyone, but it's especially going to be the Giants because of the personnel we're talking about if they can stay healthy, especially, quarterback and running back because they just owned a time of possession. That's how they won that game. They just kept the ball. And Dallas could not stop Cam Skaboo from running four, five, six yards every time. They could not stop it. So the Giants just said drip clock, drip clock, drip clock. That was it.

And so if those two can stay healthy and not do backflips. Yeah, don't do any more back. I don't know. I know you're athletic enough to do it. Just crazy. But change the backflip. Do a cartwheel. Kurtwills are a little less violent. Don't do car flips. Hartwell, do nothing. Cam, Scadterbury, do nothing. Just run the ball. Just stay healthy. Yes. And I think those two who are known for the blue tent coming up over the top of them, if they can stay healthy, I think the Giants have a real shot, especially with the consistency that is a hard ball. And they've got a really good offensive line, and that's a big part of it as well. It's fun to have football back. I watched, it was a great noon slate

or central time, so you guys insert your own time here. Here's a great noon slate, and it will The 3 o'clock slates will be better moving forward, but we had a couple really good games that were on Wednesday and Thursday. It was a powerful noon slate. I thought the 3 o'clock slate was pretty weak. Mostly because there's only three games. Right.

And so if you weren't... Well, they ran out of teams. I know. I know. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Yeah. But it's exciting. I like week 1 through 3

because we kind of find out who everybody is. I'm curious about the Saints. I am too, because I think that they're a talent the team. Tyler Shuck has shown that he continues to get better. I thought the resilience he had last week of coming back and playing the way he did and bringing them back and going to

OT with a team that's beating them up gives everybody belief inside that building. The Buffalo Detroit game is pretty exciting this week. Oh yeah, it's going to kick off. It's at the new stadium. I know some people that are going to the game might not be able to see, but that's okay. You bought tickets

behind a poll. You should have looked at the map. That's right. But that's be a good game. And it's also, this is the first Thursday night game. It will officially be a short week. So in those short weeks, it's a scramble session to get ready and prepared for these games. Neither one of these defenses played really well. I think it's going to be a shootout. Dallas has to be the Washington commander of football team Redskins. They have to. Again, a divisional opponent. The divisional games are the most important, right? You can lose an out-of-conference game and still be in complete control of your division at some point. but if you go 0 and 2 to start the year,

you're already facing an uphill battle. And the commanders look good. Jane Daniels look great. Yeah, he's small. Small? Yeah. He looks too skinny. Skinny.

I'm frail? Yeah. Yeah, but do you see him move? He's like a cat. Yeah, but I saw him get hurt last year. Like a skinny cat. He did get hurt last year. Yeah, I like Jane Daniels fine.

I like it when he fights with LSU because I don't like LSU. What did he sue him over? Stop using my number. You said you were going to retire it. Yeah. And if they told him that, but speaking of that, Joe Burrow, they don't wear his number. They didn't officially retire it, but they, like, unofficially retired Joe Burroughs number at LSU? That's kind of weird.

But they haven't been wearing his number. But Joe Burrow also won a national championship. That's true, too. But also, they told him, if they told him that, he won the Heisman, though. He did win the Heisman. Yeah. Joe Burrow did. He didn't win the Heisman too, right?

But if you win the Heisman, you should get your number retired. If you're retiring, if you're retiring numbers, you should get your number retired. True. Or especially if they say no one's going to wear your number, but we're not going to retire, but no one's going to wear it, then don't let anybody wear the number. But there was also Brian Kelly. Yeah, I'm sorry. It's one of those things. Do they have it in writing? Or he just said, hey, we told them that we weren't going to do it, but we changed your mind. Speaking to Joe Burrow, hey, the Bengals could be good. We know they're going to be good on offense. It just feels like the last couple years either Burroughs been hurt or they've been playing eight-man defense.

and that's hard to do in the NFL against 11 offensive players. If they can just somewhat be a C-plus defensive team, I think they can really threaten the AFC. They look better on the defense side of the ball. They forced three turnovers. They were all over Baker. All over him, all game long, which is such an improvement from what we've seen from this defensive unit.

And they normally start super slow. And I wouldn't say it was the best day for Joe Burrow. Jamar Chase didn't have any catches. but, I mean, he did have a few catches, but two, and it was really quiet day for him, they're going to, I think that they've got a chance to be really good as well. Let's knock out a couple situational awarenesses. Okay. Number one, you are the starting quarterback.

Your team scores in overtime, and the coach immediately says, you're going for two to win it. Do you want input in the play call, or do you just trust the coach to handle it? I trust the coach to handle it at that point. I mean, we're going for two. What if the coach is Todd Haley? No, I'm going to. going to fight back a little bit. I'm going to fight back.

Coach, somehow I'm not trusting your instincts. Let's fist fight now. Yeah, but I think that everybody's talking on the comms, right? We're going to come over to the sideline. Everybody will have a little bit of input. Ultimately, it's a head coach's decision. You've got to go out there with the belief that you can go and get the two-point conversion to win the game.

But I know offense coordinator will have input, the head coach will have input. And at the same time, I'll have a little bit of input as well. it's a chance to go win the game it's either that or you put it in the hands and a lot of times when you're going for two in that type of situation it's because the other team

went down, scored and now the clock's kind of run down it's 10 minutes and you really, there's not enough time for you to kick a field goal get a stop and end in a tie. I've had games

where we've ended in a tie it's the weirdest sensation ever because you're like yeah we didn't lose but we definitely didn't win and so there's just this weird feeling in the locker room. Did you want the Saints to get the two-pointed version against the Lions?

Yeah. I did too. That would have been a huge upset in one of the greatest comebacks ever. Yeah, that would have. I said ever, but probably not the bareiest comeback. You can say ever this day. Ever in the first week of the 2020s season. There you have it.

There you go. Your Cowboys friends say this is our year all season, right? This is our year we're never going to lose. Then lose week one and they say the season's over. Are you calling them out on it? I say, Eddie, you do this every year. This is actually what I said this week. Shut up.

Give it more than one week. After about four weeks, I'll allow you to cry. But stop it. But that's them every year. Did you jump off the wagon already? Immediately. Yeah. Immediately.

Week one, he's like, no, we're done. I thought we were going to be good. We're done. All my friends, you know, because you know I'm Mexican, right? Come again? So, yeah, thank you for asking. So I... Do you like Mexican food or you're actually...

I'm Latino. So I am actually quite Caucasian. However, all my friends are Hispanic or Mexican and like my close friends. And so we have a group chat called Latinos for the Dallas Cowboys. I'm not a Cowboys fan. I'm also not Latino. But for some reason, they won't let me out of the chat. Every time I try to get out, they put you back in.

And so I'm on, I'm an honorary Latino. And so it's all Cowboys. They're all Cowboys. They're all from Texas. And it's nonstop. This is our year. This is our year. This is our year.

Meme winning. The world's over. It's amazing. I mean, fans are pretty crazy like that. had my buddy call me the other day after the Titans game, which was a disaster. Don't get me wrong. But he calls and goes, dude, I don't think Saul is going to make it through the year. I think they're probably going to have to fire the GM, Sala.

I was like, bro, it's week one. Yes, it did not look good. There's not a lot to go off of here. But he's not getting fired at all week. Week one or probably throughout this entire season. We're going to give it a little time to start to go in the right direction. Your team scores 37 points. Hell yeah.

But you still lose by 22. Hell no. Are the offensive guys allowed to be mad at the defensive guys? That's a good question. I guarantee there will be players on the offensive side of the ball. Probably not to the defense the guy's face

because you've got to try to keep the unity and everybody respecting each other in the locker room because you're going to need those guys at some point. But there are definitely going to be guys to each other about how the defense played. There's no doubt about that. Who would win in a fight, an offensive squad, or a de, do you?

defensive squad straight up. Like Anchorman style, when everybody's got their teams. Just generally speaking. I'd probably venture to say the defensive side. I'd venture too, but you know more than me about that. Yeah, you know, they're just aggressive and violent by nature. Now, offensive linemen are violent by nature, but for the most part, they're big cuddly bears off the field.

They're not super aggressive all the time, where defensive guys just have a different mentality. Final question for me. All right. Your baby is falling asleep on your chest during the fourth quarter of a close Arkansas game. This question does not exist because there will be no close Arkansas games. Nothing will be close. This is the stupidest question I've ever heard, not because of the answer, because there will be no close games.

We're miserable. I'm miserable. Go ahead. So you're not handing her over to your wife because it's not going to be close, so you're just going to let her sleep. In this world, because it's so fictional, I don't have a baby and I live in Washington, D.C. We don't make all this spot because none of that's real. Well, none of these are real, actually.

No, the Panthers lost the time, 37 of the Bears. Yeah, but... And then there was a two-point conversion that cost, it was the game, the Lions and the Saints. And the first one who asked me did happen, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. Do you know if the Broncos went to Jacksonville or... Do they? I think they did. Yeah. I'll humor your question. Go ahead. Oh, no, that's...

Now that you blow it. I didn't write the damn question, body. No, ask it again. I'll humor the question. Your baby's falling asleep on your chest. in the fourth quarter of a close game. Are you handing her over to your wife? Are you trying to stay still?

Or are you trying to feed her? If the game is close, she's not going, I'm not going to have her falling asleep on me anyway because if it's close, I'm already pretty up and moving around. However, if that is the case, and she's falling asleep on me and the game is on, my wife must be gone. Yeah, I was going to say she's probably gone.

Because, no, you take baby games on. You take baby. Yeah, you take baby game. But they're awful. This is the only thing I want to say about Arkansas football. How did you guys do last week? We won. It was awesome.

Yeah, yeah, it was great. Little chafe of the next day. I'm used to having seasons where Arkansas is not good. We've had some seasons where we've been real good. Some we've been pretty good. We've had some bad seasons. I've never in my life been the worst. We're the worst.

I've never in my life been the absolute worst team in the conference. ever. There's always been Kentucky. There's always been Vanderbilt. There's always been Mississippi State. There's only been multiple teams. We are the absolute worst. It's foreign to me. It's a very competitive conference. You guys have never been really good, though. We've been besty championship game. We will. Bobby Petrino took it, had us 11 to 1. Clint Sterner fumbled against Tennessee. We were 10 and 1 with one game to go for the national championship. We've had seasons where we've been good, even made really good bowls with 9-10 wins. We've had a lot of bad seasons, but I've never been the worst. We're the worst. And I don't know how to feel about it.

Because I can hear that you're pretty upended about the whole situation. You're not a loser, right, Bobby? Almost though, if we're going to be bad. If you're not first, you're last. No, it's like if we're going to be 10th, it might as well be 12th so I can complain about it more. Oh my God. Because I'm trying, I would love the first on draft pick. I want the first overall pick next year. So for the worst. You better put into that in Iowa.

First pick, right? In the hour's a pellet? I'm done. In the portal. I just gave them. You say that every single. I'm done. I gave him a bunch of money to name that room after me.

I've given them money for all kinds of stuff. We can't stay this bad in me. I'm pumping money into something. There's no return. You just need to put your name on a building. I did. Oh, well, that's on you. Yeah.

Well, in a building. Okay. We got to stop asking Bobby questions and situational awareness about Arkansas, because it always goes down this rabbit hole where he then gets slightly. angry. Oh, now we're the worst. No, we're literally the worst. I've never been literally the worst. It's been two games. If you were to rank them now, we'd be the worst.

Yeah, but that's like preseason rankings. We're going to possibly be Tulsa, possibly, and I don't think we win another game all year. Wow. Like that. Yeah. And I'm not Mr. Parade Rainer. If we're good, I say we're good. If we have a chance, I say we have a chance. I hate it. Anyway, stupid.

Coach Mentor, what's he been about so far? Man, Coach Bennett has been about his business, man. Ever since he got here, since he stepped foot in the building,

one goal of mine, obviously, is to win. And I see him being a good culture shifter. I feel like that's another big thing. Seeing us draw closer together, he's implementing that in the program, making sure we're on the sense and the detail, like all the little things, man, bouncing around meeting the meetings, you know, asking people about more than just football, about their lives, what's going on. I like what we got going, man.

And he's been a real good, real good coach. Now, I know you were in New England last year, but when you made the switch and came over to Baltimore, how different was that scheme from what you did last year and what you were accustomed to? Well, that was pretty different. I mean, obviously in this scheme, I'm pretty sure you guys see what we do.

We are basically running with three safeties and do all type of stuff. And that scheme was a little bit different, more, I would say, just a little more matchy, I would say, in the sense. Those were some of the different things that we did. But they kind of are similar in certain ways, though, man. It's just obviously two different play callers. So in different situations, we'll do certain things differently than what we do here.

The game, it felt like it was just you guys just pushing the gas as soon as the game started. And so, you know, you guys end up, I feel like the score was closer than the game was. But is that kind of how you envisioned that game going into it? Like you knew you guys were for real and it turns out you are? I mean, we came into prepare, man. I mean, practice, you know what I'm saying? I feel like that's the biggest thing in certain practice on a day-to-day basis. The way we were executing and locked in, we came in it confident.

Obviously, you know, the outcome is the outcome. You can't really predict the outcome, but like we played the win, obviously. It's the league, too, so, you know, we respect everybody. So it's like everybody's good. So you don't, you know what I'm saying? You go into it expecting, you know, we plan to win. But, you know, we took off and, you know, we had a good game. man, we just got to keep it going

and build from that week to week. Is preparation for week one always super chaotic? Because you don't really have film on previous games. And so are you running more your general defense and adjusting as the game goes on, or do you

go in with a specific game plan? I feel like week one is kind of so tricky. I mean, just from being in the league for a minute. Week one, that helps if the team has the same coordinator, same quarterback, same personnel. So you kind of get an idea of what's going to happen. but then like, you know, like going into it, you get that script.

So it's like the script can be completely off of what they usually do can kind of throw you off. So I would say like we won just in general is always about playing your rules. Like always about playing your rules and fundamentals and like your identity. Like, you know what I'm saying? Everything we did in the camp, all the work we didn't put in, like that's going towards week one. And then obviously when the weeks go on, it's like, okay, we get an idea of what we're playing, who we're playing, tendencies.

And we can be more tendency very. So, yeah. Do you watch Derek Henry and go, what is happening? I watch DeHen and be like, yes, sir, like, be on my squad. Like, let's go. Man, the dude is amazing. It's crazy. It's crazy watching the offense, man.

Especially, like, coming to the sideline, I have to get into three-in-hour stop. And you can see just how fast we can score. You know what I'm saying? We got so many players, so many weapons. It's cool, man. It's cool. And we're all connected, man. So, but yeah, C&DN is crazy.

How about your, you're just safety room in general. You guys are obviously one of the most talented groups in all the NFL. But you've got Kyle Hamilton back there who obviously is an established vet and a really good player. What are some of the characteristics that he brings that you've kind of picked up on? Man, Cam was like one of those guys you could put anywhere. Like, you can put them on the back end. You can put him on a D-Line, lineback, he can go cover for you.

So, like, he's a crazy test fees to have, but, like, he's also very smart. So, like, as we've been, you know, going to camp and everything like that, I've been able to see, like, more than just his natural, God-given talent attributes in the game, you know what I'm saying,

of making plays, but, like, he also can break down our exes and knows. He knows what the front end is doing, and the D-Limon all the way to the back end. And it's pretty cool to see that, man. and see that someone with that stature and that ability, you have that understanding and plays the way he plays. You know, it's very cool, and it's dope to be alongside of that.

Obviously, your position, you're scanning sideline to sideline. Like, you've got to watch everything. But are you able to see at all moments of Trey Hendrickson doing his thing? Or do you just have to watch on tape once Monday comes around? I mean, I feel like, he and in the back end, I can, you, I'm reading the quarterback. So like, but I feel you can feel a quarterback. You see the quarterback panty. You know what I'm saying?

Just makes up the rest. So like in the sense, I mean, I'm looking at everything else, but you can see him kind of getting hurt just based off, you know, it's past restability, obviously to do it as elite. And then when obviously you come in Monday and you guys watch it and you guys, and we watch it as a team and you see what the pressure is doing. It's like, oh yeah, this is for real. Like, my dog is on there.

Like, they hunt into like everybody's just hunting, you know? That's it, playing free and playing fast. I feel like a lot of young DBs that come in the league. Obviously, you guys are playmakers, right? You want the interception. You want to create the phone down and do that. But it's, they kind of concentrate more on the individual side than seeing the bigger picture. And as you get a little bit older, the good ones, and I'm talking about it at the safety position, can kind of see the entire picture.

Is that something that you've experienced? Yeah, I would say as I got an older. It's funny you said that because, like, coming in, it's like, man, I want pigs. I want that ball. I want to figure out a way to make plays. And, like, you know, obviously you still have that. Just as a player competitor, you still have that, like, inside of you. But then the order you get, like, you start to realize doing your job and doing what you're supposed to be doing,

letting the plays come to you and making those plays. And being a part of the piece of the whole puzzle and allowing that to operate, it's so much more beneficial than just being an individual, you know. and like I've seen that as I got older help us like that's what wins games you know like that's what helps playing winning football is like us all playing together me doing my job like whenever I don't do my job because I go rogue or I see myself like trying to make a play I'm like dang like I left my dog out there hanging you know it happened to me this week actually this past weekend like there's one player I was like man I just thought I had to get rid on the quarterback so I'm like man I'm just going to go

Like, you know, but then I was like, I kind of left my dog hanging out to dry. As I got older, I was a million. I'm like, yeah, I can't do that, man. Like, I feel bad. Like, you know, we all let us together. Like, you feel me? Like, we all in this together, man. So, yeah, man, to answer your question, yes, I feel like that's very important.

what you're looking at, and how that all goes through your process before the ball's even snapped. Oh, man, just my priest's not routine, man. I'm just obviously getting a call, communicating. You got to communicate to my corner, is linewriters, whoever, my side of the ball. I've seen a full formation. I feel like formations tell you everything,

where people are aligned, tells you everything, communicating out with my other safety about what I'm seeing, watch this, watch that. And then depending on the time-to-time basis, you made the skies, you know, try to throw a quarterback off, reading the snap count, all the type of stuff, timing the blitz or whatever. And this is all going on in a span of like 25 seconds. Like, you know, and I'm processing it quick.

And then when the ball snap, I'm just looking at my keys and then anticipating and then letting my keys take me to, you know, doing my job. Do you feel like Coach Mentor wants you guys to be a defensive identity team? I just think Coach Minter wants us to win and wants us to be a good team as a whole. I think he wants us to be not just one side of the ball is good, not the other side of the ball, just a good unit as a whole. I feel like that's important, you know. Like that's the message and to go where we want to go, you got to be that, you know?

So obviously we know he's a defensive mind of course, but he's also caring about what we do. both sides of the ball. So I think the identity is Ravens, the Ravens, us outside. Do you guys talk about the expectation? Because on the outside, it feels like it's Super Bowl bus every year with the Baltimore Ravens. Right. Inside of that building, what is the messaging? I mean, the messaging is just really, obviously, like, you, outside noise is outside

notice, so you can ignore it to a certain extent. Obviously, people hear it. But I think the message is just, like, week to week, man, be your best. Like week to week, improve and be your best. Be your best version. Be the best version of your soul. When the day, day and the day out, you know, one week out of the time, just stacking. You know, I feel like that's been the message from, and that's been what I've been take.

Obviously, we got dreams and aspirations of going to the Super Bowl. That's every team. All the 32 teams, all want to play in February, you know, at the end of the season. That's everybody. But I feel like his message is like, yeah, we have that in hindsight. But, like, what are we doing now to get to that? When you're deciding where you're going to play, do you put on every uniform just to see

what you look like, just to see? You're saying as far as like going. If there's a uniform that is ugly, like, I don't even like green. Like, I wouldn't play. I'm probably not going to play for the Jets.

I don't like green. Like, you put, if you're considering playing for a few tunes, do you go and you have, you know, you have some meetings, do you put on the jersey to see what it looks like? I mean, it's like,

I'm not really thinking about that. Just me for us, like, because if you, thinking about it, it's like coming out college, I'm getting drafted. Like, it's like, I can't do. You know what I'm saying? Like, that's not really important. I feel like the blessing is obviously being on whatever team you want. And obviously you have your favorite teams and be like, dang, I'll look better in this

or in this uniform or another uniform. But like, it's just a blessing in the honor to, you know, play this game. And, you know, wherever you get the chance to continue our play this game is a blessing. So that's how I look about it. Yeah, and I'm wearing green, so I live bad in green, so I just have to say no thank you to Seattle and the Jets. Seattle's got some sweet colors, though. If I like the blues.

Nice. Yeah, yeah. Last year was, I was going to say, that was pretty sweet. I don't know why you wouldn't win Seattle, but last year was really your breakout season with the Patriots, and it was a special season. What can you say was the main reason for that breakout season, and why were you guys so successful? you know, we just are connected, I would say.

You know, God was at the forefront. Everybody's connected. Everybody had one goal. And we all worked really hard, you know, and we all played team ball. I feel like, you know, when you do those things, special things happen. You know, on a continual basis, we worked hard day and day out. And, you know, it just showed, man. And I would say that was special, man.

Just how connected we were in the work we put in. You like blitzing? Yeah, for sure. I mean, who don't like blitzing? I wouldn't. I don't want to get hit, and I don't want to wear green, so I wouldn't. But yeah, like you... You don't like football, man.

No, I'm good. That's why I get paid to talk. I'm being honest, if I get paid to talk, knock it in. I'll be on that. Yeah. If your number's called, though, do you have a preferred side to blitz from? No, I just go. You know, whenever I can get the opportunity,

yeah, I just try to go as far as I can and get to the quarterbread. I got to ask you, what's your most memorable interception and most memorable big hit? Big hit? Big hit is kind of tough. I can give you the interception, though. I would say, obviously, last year we played Cleveland. That for sure is my most memorable one. That was very cool.

It was dope. Cut her one hand. So, yeah, I'll say that's my favorite one. So far, you know, God was in the making worse. Final question then let's do memorable. Do sack. You got a memorable sack? We got Josh Allen.

I got 5.5 last year. That's a big deal right there. That's a big deal. That's a big deal. I heard on. I was solid. I'll take that. That was a good sack.

yet, but I'm reading through the different articles, trying to understand what the feel is of the team, listen to the coaches and their press conferences that they've given. I've watched each of their games from the last week, and I'll probably do one more. So just kind of getting a feel for the teams themselves and what kind of they run schematically. Do they send you edited down games? No, it's actually full games. Or you can go to PFF Ultimate, which we do have an account for, and you can watch actual game film on them. So if I want to go and just watch the offense side of the ball, I can go watch the offensive side of the ball or the defense side of the ball.

So I'll do a little bit of that so it's not as lengthy as watching a full game on the television cast. but that's all I'm excited for you I'll be in Vegas this weekend but I will be watching it on Peacock on my phone okay fair who's your play by play guy that's a good question

for the first time. But he's really good. Tell Dave, I say hi and see him a long time. I will. I never met him, so he's going to be like, who's Bobby Bones? Okay, I was like, wow, how do you know him? And did you do a game with him? Did you know he's the lead broadcaster for the professional pickleball association tour?

Fleming in the first as sportscaster, play-by-play guy for the Giants. Okay, then that would be him. Okay, well, it gives me a few lists here. He started in the 2003 season, and right under that is his Dave Fleming pickleball announcer. I believe they're different because one has two M's and one has one. Oh, well, that wouldn't be a thing.

Correction. My friend's pickleball, Dave. So this guy, your Dave won't know me. Yeah, no, okay. Well, if you're running a pickleball, Dave. Tau? I'll say what's up to him, too. I'll look forward to it. So your game's around noon, central time? I'm Peacock? Yes, 1230.
