Starting point is 00:02:41 All right. The Bobby Bones Post Show pre-show. We just finished Monday's show. Some new stories that I got handed to me for the post show. Tony Romo scores the largest sports analyst contract in TV history. He's making $17 million a year. Wow. To call games.
Starting point is 00:03:00 Good for him. Yeah, great for him. Because if they're paying you that, that means they're making more than that off of you. And that's, and some people are like, you shouldn't do it. Is the work going into it worth $17 million as compared to someone like somebody who worked at the mill? No, but the physical work isn't. But what people are paid are worth on what they make the person above them. That's what all of them.
Starting point is 00:03:24 And sometimes the person above you has to take a risk. For example, when you buy the Olympics or the Super Bowl, it costs so much money more than it made the year before. But you have to figure out ways to make more money than you did before. So you're like, wow, five bucks for the Super Bowl? I got to pay five bucks. But the year before, they only made four. You're like, wow. But you buy that knowing that you can probably make six.
Starting point is 00:03:45 Yeah. If you do things right. So whenever you hear like even an athlete that makes $25 million, just know they get paid that because they're making the person that's hiring them. them more 30 to 40 million dollars like that's what worth is even with our contracts even with me like they pay me a good amount of money but it's because of what they can make off of me and you know it's through the years been able to go up because I've been able to go oh well we can make more with sponsors and clients and so but yeah I would see people just like ragging on Tony Romo for making 17 million but I go you would yeah I saw like would you stop watching it?
Starting point is 00:04:26 If it wasn't Tony Romo, like, that's a dumb argument because, I mean, I enjoy listening to Tony Romo. Like, I truly do. I like it when he calls games. I think he's really good at it. And there are people that have been on there that aren't very good at it. And it's just like, ugh, sometimes they ruin a game. I think ESPN's going after Peyton Manning now. Those are the two big ones.
Starting point is 00:04:44 But anyway, he's making $17 million a year. And my only point with this is, worry about your own money. That's not what other people are making. And be happy for him. And ever since Jessica Simpson's book, now I'm just like, I want to he even cashes those checks. Yeah, because Amy said in that book that there were a bunch of checks just laying around. Yeah, she said when she was dating Tony Romo, she'd be like in the bathroom and like on the sink, there'd be like a check for hundreds of thousands of dollars just sitting there uncashed.
Starting point is 00:05:06 Tony Romo's net worth, according to this website, is $70 million. These things aren't super accurate. They make guesses there, but it says Tony Romo's net worth $70 million. A man of Pennsylvania was busted for stealing $42,000 worth of stuff from his job and selling it on eBay for $8,000. Come on. expensive cameras, he's an industrial robotics distributor,
Starting point is 00:05:33 and he was selling stuff. It's just, these things that are expensive or are going to have serial numbers on them. Like eventually they're probably going to be able to track it back if stuff's missing and it's being sold publicly. If you go to the dark web, we did a fun segment on the dark web
Starting point is 00:05:46 on Friday show, Thursday show, Thursday show, maybe you don't get caught. Mike's been in that dark web. A woman dined and dashed. but accidentally left her ID on the table. Oh, that's just... Let me tell you what happened to me this weekend. I go, Kaelin and I go to, it's late on Saturday night,
Starting point is 00:06:08 it's 9 p.m., and True Food, a place here locally that we go, was open. It's open until 10. So we go into True Food at 9. It places still packed, so it didn't feel weird hopping in and making a waiter stay. And we only, it takes like 30 minutes to eat anyway. So we go in and water mellow drink, I get like a kale aid.
Starting point is 00:06:25 It's actually pretty good. I know the word kale is in it can sound gross, but pretty good. Give them a kale, get me, get me, order our food. Got a little pokey bowl. She got a little thing. And the waiter comes over and goes, hey, this table over there wants to buy your dinner. I was like, well, that's nice. I don't feel super comfortable with that.
Starting point is 00:06:41 So I say, okay, why don't we flip that up? And I'll just pay for their dinner. Ooh. And so he's like, okay, sure? I was like, yeah, cool, cool. And I said, where are they? And he goes right over there. And there was six people.
Starting point is 00:06:50 Now, I've already committed. You're like, can I pay for two? I can't quite go. What are they having? What's their order? A third of the bill. And so, yeah, I paid for eight people. And I don't say this, and I look at me, way, I was like, oh, man, when he said six, I couldn't really walk backward out of it.
Starting point is 00:07:08 So it was nice to them to do that. And I did that with my own free will. I was like, I just thought it was two people there. So I got caught up with an eight-person tab. We were going in for a 30-minute, quick dinner. And I had an eight-person tab. Don't you remember the days, like, in college, where if your computer shut down in the middle of a paper, you lost the paper? Oh, gosh.
Starting point is 00:07:27 Like, people don't know that. Like, that, that sucked. Yeah. I still feel like that would happen now, though. No, everything's saved. Yeah. A woman accidentally takes too much LSD and it helps her Lyme disease. One woman came back from a very bad trip to some great physical benefits.
Starting point is 00:07:45 A case study in the Journal of Studies of Alcohol and Drug Reports that a woman snorted 55 milligrams of pure LSD. Snorted? She thought it was cocaine. Oh, my goodness. The amount is more than five hundred. 150 times the typical recreational dose of LSD. She went into a crazy 24-hour trip. However, after it ended, she went to the doctors and said,
Starting point is 00:08:05 hey, I can no longer feel the chronic pain in my feet or ankles from Lyme disease. Within two years, she was able to completely get off of the morphine she used for the pain to begin with. And it's fixed that pain completely. Wow. I have friends that will do what they call my, I have good acquaintances that they do microdosing. Oh, yeah. In a doctor's office of LSD. for depression.
Starting point is 00:08:28 Do they go on like on a trip? I don't think, I don't know. I don't think so. I don't know. With a microdose, you may not get there, right? It's in your system, but you might not.
Starting point is 00:08:37 I would assume you don't. And they don't live here. I've talked to them about it. And they're like, it works wonders for my brain. And I don't think it's like, they're going on, it's like, oh,
Starting point is 00:08:44 if it took a drug. Like I saw Elvis. And, you know, Steve Jobs was a big LSD guy. It was like open my mind up. I was able to think about things in different ways in order to create and market like Apple.
Starting point is 00:08:53 but this she took it. If you were suffering from chronic pain, I bet you would try anything to get it to go away. Yeah, you're right. Just the idea though, not suffering through anything, just the idea of my mind going somewhere else
Starting point is 00:09:08 without me controlling it. Well, you get drunk. Yeah, I know, but I mean, I still know what's going on. LSD, dude, you see like Jimmy Hendrickson stuff. You've never done it, first of all. That's what I hear. But it's all relative. Like when you talk about LSD,
Starting point is 00:09:20 I think about being blackout drunk. Same thing. I've never been blackout drunk. drunk and I'm like, that's what I hear, like you pee all over yourself and you wake up and you're making out with a cow. That happened one time, right? But my point is like, that to you is that to me, what you do. Yeah. I mean, I don't know. I just now in my age, I can't even, I don't even think about getting blackout drunk. Like, that's not an option anymore. And just the idea of taking something and you don't even know where it's going to take you, scary. I would, I would risk it though.
Starting point is 00:09:48 For something like this. If I had chronic pain or, you know, experimental drugs used for a bunch of diseases. I would imagine if you come to your wits in and ropes in both, you're probably like, I'll try whatever. Like, if I can get through this, I'll try whatever. The most frequently reported motives and effects of microdosing are stimulating productivity. For example, increasing focus, energy levels and creativity and inducing positive moods. This is from one of those doctor's books. Sounds amazing. Yeah. How can I get learning? Sounds amazing. Adam Levine apologizes for Unprofessional Maroon 5 show in Chile
Starting point is 00:10:24 What do they do? Fans in South America flocked social media including direct messages to page six accounts To voice their displeasure with the band set At a festival and his attitude towards the proceedings What's the clip? I guess he's apologizing Is he apologizing on stage or just
Starting point is 00:10:42 On his Instagram live? Okay, here you go There were some things holding me back sonically last night And I let them get to me and it impacted how I was behaving on stage, which was unprofessional, and I apologize for that. How can this guy be angry on stage? I wonder what was wrong Sonically.
Starting point is 00:11:02 They probably weren't getting a keyboard in the ear or not getting, you know. All of our shows Sonically are screwed up. It's like if it's not screwed up, we'd be in a bad mood. It'd be normal for it to be screwed up. We played Strawberry Festival yesterday in Tampa, and it was great. It was daytime. They do two shows. On weekends, they do a big show in the daytime.
Starting point is 00:11:24 They shut it all down. You have to buy another ticket. They do a big show at night. But I think they had like 15 shows or so. They told us we were the third highest selling one. Amazing. Behind Rascal Flats and Riba. Sonically everything fine?
Starting point is 00:11:34 It's never super sonically everything fine because our band, we have a large band and a lot of instruments to kind of cover for the fact that I can't really sing. And so, no, it's never perfect. No, but it's fine. Because you just, you have these, monitors like what I'm wearing here and every instrument is in them. You're trying to find that mix. Some people want, you know, more drum, no bass. Some people want only drum, no symbols.
Starting point is 00:11:59 Some people don't want acoustic. It's just all depending on. So everybody, there's like eight of us. Everybody wants a different mix in their ears. And so, and I kind of walk on at the end after they've been doing that for an hour. And I was like, let me hear what I'm going to deal with. Just get used to that and then we go. But it was a good. We had a good time yesterday. A lot of great people. What stinks now? And I say this. And hopefully, like a respectful way and also not, hopefully not an arrogant way. But because, like, the crowds that wait for us after the shows are so big, they won't let us stay and hang out with them because it's near a gate. Even lobbies of theaters.
Starting point is 00:12:37 They're like, we can't have everybody sit in a theater and there'll be four or five hundred people that stayed from a show of 2,000 people. And we have no control over them. And so even yesterday, we were able to, before the show, hang out with a couple of hundred people. and after the show we met some, but we couldn't go out into just the fairgrounds because security was like, we can't keep track of everyone because it starts to be like a push of people.
Starting point is 00:13:00 And so we did say, I'm like Adam Levine right now. I don't even apologize. Nobody cared. But people were great about it and I always feel so bad. We were driving out and I had my window down and they were like, hey, you can't go out there,
Starting point is 00:13:11 but I had my window and had them drive real slow and try to talk with people. And you can see people were super nice about it, but I always feel bad that we can't talk to everyone. everybody. People make shirts and make hats and, you know, it just stinks that I can't, like, hang out with every single person. I guess that's a good thing. Yeah, it's a great thing. A lot of people are coming to shows. And it's kind of our fault, too, because we've, we've, for years,
Starting point is 00:13:33 we've met every single person. Oh, yeah. That was the thing. Like, regardless, if you come to a show, we're going to come out and meet you. Sometimes we would spend two hours after a show meeting people when we just spent an hour and ten minutes on stage, and it was great to us because we were just so appreciative. We loved it. But then it was them coming to us going, you can't do this anymore, because it's not safe for us and not safe for the people that are all out there, because we can't get them in lines, there are fights, there's, so I always hate that. But very grateful. It was a great show. We had a great time. A lot of strawberries. A lot of pimping joy shirts out there, Amy, a lot of people with signs. I saw the coolest sign ever.
Starting point is 00:14:12 Some guy really, I guess, you know, like, I've never seen anything like this for, but instead of a poster board sign, he had a dry erase board, a big one. And so he kept changing the message on it. So it started off with, I love you, Bobby. Then he would erase that one and be like,
Starting point is 00:14:26 Eddie, I love your shoes, race that one, like drummer rocks. You know, it's pretty funny. That's clever. Yeah, it's good.
Starting point is 00:14:32 So shout out to everybody. We have some shows because we're not playing a bunch of full band shows, but we are going to play some, which we haven't talked about yet, and I can't really announce them, but we're going to do,
Starting point is 00:14:44 we're going to be in, we'll say this, upstate New York, North Dakota, which I'm so excited about. Oklahoma. That's what I can say for now. We're not doing a bunch of them, but like special places
Starting point is 00:14:59 where I really, like, can feel the love and just people just love the show so much. Like, I want to make a point to get up to them. So, yeah. And we have the Boston one too, but that's, is that sold out? First of all, Boston is sold out. Okay.
Starting point is 00:15:13 But that happens in like two or three weeks. but then we're going to do because that show sold out so fast we're going to do a show in Springfield which hasn't been announced yet because it's also that too where if we do a show and people can't get in
Starting point is 00:15:32 I'm like dang I wish more people could come we are softly quietly announcing that we're going to do Springfield not even going to say when but not in the next few weeks and only the people listening to this post show pre-show. Which is like eight people yeah so we got eight tickets
Starting point is 00:15:46 There's more than eight people. There's like 10. You know what I see? How many people are on right this second? 1,600. Wow. That's more than eight. That's just live.
Starting point is 00:15:55 I do go back and watch and say many people watch this. And then we have like top fans on Facebook. Like it's like people that comment the most or like the most. Yeah. So like Facebook has their algorithm and certain people will become top fans. And it's like half of the people's goal on there to become a top fan for our page. But is it ever mean people? It has been, and then I just have to block them, and then it opens up.
Starting point is 00:16:19 You get top fan and then blocked? Some of them, we've had some top fans that have, like, come on because they comment on everything, and then their comments turn aggressive. And I'm like, well, you don't really deserve to be a top fan. She takes their badge away. I kind of, like, block them and let somebody else do that. I'll say this real quick before we jump out of this. John Langston came by my house and did a bobby cast with me.
Starting point is 00:16:42 I'm going to play two clips. the first one he played fullback and linebacker in college he had six concussions overall and this is what happened with his sixth concussion i literally went blind for like 20 minutes i remember getting hit and like i just fell to my knees i could feel my eyes were open i couldn't well you could feel your eyes were open but i could just you know when like you close your eyes and you can see like shapes and stuff that's what it felt like and i was just screaming and just like crying because i thought it just hit myself blind forever oh that crazy i hate seeing stuff like like that. And he talked about his full circle moment with Luke Bryan because he signed to Luke
Starting point is 00:17:19 Brian's record label and he was in the crowd at one of his farm tour dates and then he got to perform on stage at one of them and, you know, then Luke surprised him telling him he got a record deal. I was in the crowd and hanging out and with my buddies in Athens and I was like, man, I would love to be on that stage one day. Like this is such a cool environment and got the opportunity and was out there and it was a full circle moment. It was really cool. I saw the video where he came and surprised you. I guess you were in the recording studio,
Starting point is 00:17:47 and he was like... Yeah, we were at on Music Row. The door opens up. He's got a ball of champagne. Carrie's like, we got to celebrate the dude. He's like, you got a record deal, you know? So check out the John Langston Bobbycast. Here's a clip of his song called Now You Know,
Starting point is 00:18:00 which is currently number 37 on the chart. I'm a cold beer drinking every Friday night singing them songs about the girl I love. And I'm a small town running that son. down till I get downtown tearing it up I just go with coal With a whiskey and cold Give you every water now I'll roll
Starting point is 00:18:21 Well now you know You go John Langston New artist John Langston Stop by the House for a Bobbycast Check it out Search Bobbycast One word Wherever you listen to your podcasts
Starting point is 00:18:32 On IHare Radio Whatever else you listen on Check it out I just got texted a fun fact Fun fact January 14th episode With 5 minutes and 13 seconds left is when Eddie said rock and bob about your girlfriend.
Starting point is 00:18:45 I did ask your girlfriend that if I said it and she said you said it. She said it's kind of off mic. Yeah, she said it was, yeah. Does that mean I was just thinking it and didn't know I said it all that? I don't know. Maybe. It's just, that's not in my vocabulary. I don't ever remember saying rock and bot.
Starting point is 00:19:01 We were talking about. It's me, Eddie. Caitlin, I'm odd. We were just talking yesterday after the show on the airplane flying back. and Eddie brought up Amad's Bachelor Party which he doesn't have one planned yet but Amad's I've never been to a bachelor party never been in but Ray Mundo has one coming up and then Amad is going to have one
Starting point is 00:19:21 and Eddie goes hey there's this place Oh gosh we're not talking about this Ray knows Eddie goes hey there's this shop in Vegas this place you go in and you can have sex with these rubber dolls Oh my gosh! I know And then he goes would you guys want to go kidding
Starting point is 00:19:40 and then it turned into him hitting Caitlin on it like would you let Bobby go Amy what do you think she said She was not happy She said no She was like ugh no That's disgusting no Why?
Starting point is 00:19:52 She said Bobby don't want to go I don't have to worry about it That's what I would say I don't even have to say he can't go because he wouldn't want to go I wouldn't want to go Right but what did she say She was like well I don't think it's cheating
Starting point is 00:20:06 But I don't want to be with anybody who wants to grossly go have sex with a rubber doll. Yeah, sick. And we don't know how much it costs. No. And it's a whole place you go and you rent a doll. We saw the article. We were doing the Sourleu's podcast and we saw an article and we were talking about it.
Starting point is 00:20:21 Like it's just crazy. It's brand new. You rent a doll and do whatever you want. No, no, no, no. Apparently, the Las Vegas sex dolls experience prized itself on going where no one else has been before, but we're not a brothel, they say. Okay. Apparently you go before they sell them.
Starting point is 00:20:36 you can go and try them out. Oh, okay. That answers a question. That's just... And then it was, then it turned into, would you go to a strip club? Yeah, can he dance with someone? And then even like a club, can he dance?
Starting point is 00:20:52 I've never been to a strip club. Right. And she was like, you know what? I wouldn't like... And what Eddie was doing was funny because he would be like, come on, I can't believe you wouldn't let him or you wouldn't want him to go.
Starting point is 00:21:00 And he'd be like, my wife would let me go either. So he'd like guilt her. And then be like, don't worry, my wife would kill me to. So... Like with all of these Bachelor parties, like Amad's and then Ray's, my wife is all just like, you know, you're not going to strip clubs. Like, you're not going to do that. And I was like, I wouldn't want to do that.
Starting point is 00:21:16 Yeah, but I don't think Ray and Amad would want to do that either. Ray? Yeah, we'll probably hit up a strip club. We even talked about the blow up dolls. No, you did not! See, that's what I'm talking about. I won't go to that. I won't have to bow out of that.
Starting point is 00:21:30 Just for my own personal reason. And they said they only had a certain amount of dolls, so some guys might have to double up. No, no, no. The Las Vegas experience does allow for customers to purchase dolls, and they're even allowed to give them a test run, experiences that it costs roughly 150 bucks. What's what wrong with this guy? Who found that article?
Starting point is 00:21:48 Either Lunchbox or Ray, I don't remember. Who was it, Ray? Did you find it? Though, you guys brought it to my attention of something we could possibly do in Vegas. That's probably Eddie found out. Would you really do that, right? Because it's so outrageous, yes, because it would be something we could talk about with our kids forever. What? You never want to talk about with your kids.
Starting point is 00:22:06 No, never. All right. No. Here, we're going to get into Monday's show now. Appreciate you guys for being here hanging out. All our top fans. We appreciate them over on Facebook too. That's it.

Starting point is 00:26:35 Fight. Congrats Bobby Bowen. Your ACM win. Grime. ACM. Congrats Bobby bombs. Repeat. National air personality of the year, baby.
Starting point is 00:26:44 Come on. Win. Love you. Hey, welcome with the show. Morning studio. Morning. I was reading the story this morning about the drive-thru pharmacy because I go through the drive-thru most of the time.
Starting point is 00:27:09 It's easier. Go give a doctor note or I get a text to go, hey, your doctor sent in your prescription and just drive over through. And I'm like, hey, I'm here. I do wavy hands too. Experts say not to. The whole story this morning was most pharmacists, one, don't like them, are rushed on work in your order because the drive-through feels like the fast food expectation and
Starting point is 00:27:30 that kind of feeling. And it's also where the most prescription errors happen. Wow. Because people are trying to rush it because you're sitting there in a car, just the whole thing. But I am probably a 90%er. I mostly go through. Unless I have to go in and get other things.
Starting point is 00:27:46 Or ask a lot of questions because I don't want to ask questions about real private stuff yelling at a speaker. I don't want to have to ask about my behole through a sonic speaker. Good point. Because when I tore my butt, I went in. Because I want to be like, hey, so how long will this last? I didn't want to act like I was ordering it while I was ordering Coney. Like, Coney.
Starting point is 00:28:06 Anyway, I thought that was interesting. I wanted to share that with you guys. Everybody good? Yeah. What's happening today is obviously lunchbox is not here again. he won't be here this week. He's doing paternity leave and Caroline Bryan. Super funny. Luke Bryan's wife, she will be in later this morning to be the guest host for an hour or so. So that's cool. Let's see what's happening with everybody now in our segment that we call What's the Haps?
Starting point is 00:28:27 Hey, what's the Haps? Amy. Okay, so I was like picking up food with the kids and I was parked in this parking spot and like a legit spot and I go inside and I come back out and there's a car just parked behind me like blocking me in. not legit spot. Was someone in the car? No. So you're parked and someone just parks behind you and gets out of the car and leaves it there? Locks it. There's no keys.
Starting point is 00:28:50 It's not on. I kind of thought, is it running? Did they just run in somewhere? Nothing. I start looking around. My kids are like, Mom, what are we going to do? We're stuck. I look around.
Starting point is 00:28:58 I see other people on the sidewalk and I'm like, do you, did you see who's driving this car? And they're like, no, we don't see. I mean, there's a couple of different restaurants. So I was like, surely they just went in to get food. But we had to wait several minutes. And finally, this woman comes out. She's picking up food. and she looks at us waiting.
Starting point is 00:29:15 She saw you waiting. She saw us waiting. And she just had her food and went and got in her car and drove off. She didn't say anything like, oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. I didn't think I was just, you know, crossing my fingers that, you know, I wouldn't block anybody in. Because that's what I would do? First of all, I'm going to do that. But if I were to, I would think, what are the odds that someone's going to come to their car right when I park here?
Starting point is 00:29:35 She didn't even acknowledge it. She got her car and drove off. And I'm like, what is happening with this here? Well, why I'm not surprised is the same kind of person that would park behind you. you the same kind of person that wouldn't say sorry. I think that's the similar type person. Yeah. Unless there's a death or you're running into the hospital,
Starting point is 00:29:51 I just don't see most people just put on out of the park. Who cares what happened? So that would be my thing. It's the same kind of person that also does the other thing. Weird though, huh? You're probably right. Weird. I mean, it just was like, even, yeah, the people on the sidewalk,
Starting point is 00:30:03 they were like, are you blocked in? I was like, yeah. Like, we were all just perplexed. Yeah, it's weird. Hey. What's the hat? So last week on the show, Eddie was like, hey man, not American Idol, you look good, look skinny.
Starting point is 00:30:17 And I was like, wait, so I don't look skinny anymore? And I had this whole week-long spiral, right? Minor spiral. Like out of control spiral? No, no, no, not a control, but I definitely thought about it. So, which led me to this. Instead of saying, hey, you look great, have you lost weight, or something like that? Because sometimes compliments can be taken in a weird way.
Starting point is 00:30:40 I have some of these compliments of what people say and then, what you should say. Oh, okay. All right. So instead of saying like, hey, you look great, if you lost weight, you say, hey, you look great, what's new with you? Oh, okay. Because people will go, I lost weight.
Starting point is 00:30:53 Oh, I didn't. You still look good? That kind of thing. All right. I'll do a few of these. So instead of you look great, you lost weight, it's, hey, you look great. What's new with you forward instead of backward? Number two, you look amazing for your age.
Starting point is 00:31:07 Something that they say is a backhand compliment you shouldn't say. And what would you say instead of that? Well, you should say, wow, what are you doing to stay so fresh? Great. I'm into that. That's great. They say, just to say, hey, you look fantastic. Okay.
Starting point is 00:31:23 Do you have any tips? Don't even say for your age. Oh, yeah, for your age is about it. How about this one? Your skin looks so much better. Yikes. Which is saying your skin looks good, but it didn't used to look good. Maybe you just say, wow, you're glowing.
Starting point is 00:31:38 That's exactly what they're right. Really? Really? Yes. Because that's what I would want to hear. Think about what you would want to hear, I guess. And then that's what you can say to other people. Eddie, I was thinking about what you told me, a lot of the past week.
Starting point is 00:31:49 I think I've just been working out very heavy with weights. I would like to rephrase what I said. Go ahead. Okay. I would just like to say, Bones, you look good. What's new in your life? And then Bobby, you could go. You cheated.
Starting point is 00:32:02 I just did that. I know. I want to take back what I said. And then Bobby might say, thanks, dude, the weights. I have like totally changed my workout. But I don't, I'm only like two pounds different. Bobby, you look. You look great.
Starting point is 00:32:14 Ossitude, you're glowing. Let's do one more. You look great. Fit, but not too muscular. What would you say instead? Wow, you look good. I don't know. It's like, hey, wow, you look at what do you do at the gym?
Starting point is 00:32:30 What are you doing? Oh, yeah. What's your workout? Anyway, there's a whole article. Eddie put me in a room place all one. Sorry, I'll write notes. I'm sensitive about that. Eddie, yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:37 We need to stop commenting on people's weight. Okay. Let's go over it. Hey. What's the hat? Eddie, I'm coming over to you. Speaking of, man, I have just been wasting a lot of time on my phone lately because my kids have been downloading games. Like, nonstop.
Starting point is 00:32:53 And the phone's great for kids. But they download so many games. I've been playing, it's like a ping pong game, you know, with a basketball. There's a field goal kicking game, a golf game. When are you finding time to do this? Anytime. Like when I'm eating lunch by myself, I'm playing a little game. before my nap playing a little game before I get a prize can you win are you competing against other people
Starting point is 00:33:12 oh yeah you compete you compete with people online but of course there there are prizes and you want to collect as many coins as you want as you can get and when you do you get to like be a pro level but do you win like any no I would play if I can compete against you guys and like we wagered money or we got super competitive you know my son is playing now that we used to play trivia crack yeah there it's fun to think about the games that were really cool for a second yeah trivia Q was big. We talked about that going away, maybe even last week. Trivia crack, where you hit the, I was really good at that. You hit it quick and you get more points for getting it right and quickly.
Starting point is 00:33:46 What are some of those other apps? Did you all ever do Farmville? No, not really, but Facebook, that was a big one. There was the drawing one where you had to guess what each other drew. Oh, what was that? It was like pitching around your phone. Yes, you and I used to do it all the time. Those are fun.
Starting point is 00:34:00 But anyway, it's such a time waste trip. I don't have any phone games. You don't play games at all on your phone? I don't either. Phones, I'm going to send you golf classes. You'll like that one. I don't want that because I'll probably do it and then get obsessed with it. I go to my, when I have a minute, I go to my notes and then I write, I'll show you.
Starting point is 00:34:16 I get on my notes and I write book ideas. So it's just things to write about. That's your time waste. That's a fun game. You get points for that one? In my heart. The game was called Draw Something. I get coins later in my bank account.
Starting point is 00:34:30 How about that? Good boy. Take that. Take that. You have sticks that and your pipe and smoke it. All right, there you go. Hey. Hey, what's the hat?
Starting point is 00:34:38 All right, glad everybody's here. We've got a good, good, fun show today. Here's the Bobby Bones Show podcast, highlight segment of the day. You guys send us a lot of questions. We appreciate that. We're happy to lend our advice. Let's open up the mailbag. Bobby's Mailbag.
Starting point is 00:34:55 Hey, Bobby, really enjoy what you have to tell listeners. My question is for you, and it's about tipping. I try to follow your lead and be as generous as I can with waiters and waitresses. but I don't know what to do when I have pickup orders. No matter how fancy the location, if I'm not sitting down, I don't tip. I recently came across a friend who was surprised by this and questioned my tipping etiquette. My logic is that no one is serving me, but I recently noticed more than half of my friends do tip on takeout. Have I been a bad tipper the whole time?
Starting point is 00:35:27 What do I tip on it to go order? Appreciate your help. Love you all. Janet. Well, first I would say that just because you don't, tip because you're not sitting down. I would say that logic is a bit wrong because it's usually a waiter, a waitress who's preparing your order. And they're having to take the time away from their tables and spend it getting your order ready. Not saying they deserve 20% by any means.
Starting point is 00:35:48 But I'm saying just because you're not sitting down doesn't mean that someone who's not working with people sitting down aren't putting the time into it. So if your logic and your reasoning is, if I'm sitting down, then the people who are serving me get tips. Well, the same people are serving you quicker, but I don't feel like that's a fair thing to hold against them. I don't think it's 20%. I don't think you have to tip if you don't want to, as a matter of fact. I do because I've been in this situation where if you have a job waiting tables, for the most part, you're depending on each and every tip that you get. And just in general, this is just a philosophical thing with me. If I can give a little bit, I do. I would encourage you to try to tip a dollar or $2 if you can.
Starting point is 00:36:31 whatever won't affect you but will affect someone else. Think about that. It won't affect you to tip somebody a dollar. It will affect them to get a dollar or two. You're not wrong for not tipping to go, but you could be more right. Just in general, helping people is a good thing. That's my advice. I don't shame you for this because I don't think it's a known culture thing where you have to tip to go and you don't have to tip to go.
Starting point is 00:37:01 That's my thing. So you're not wrong, but if you could improve it by 8% of good for you, a couple bucks. Amy? I totally agree. And I think by, you know, sending an email like that or asking anybody for advice on that or what they think, that means something in you is saying, maybe I should do this. This might be the right thing to do.
Starting point is 00:37:20 And yeah, it doesn't make you wrong or a bad person if you don't do it. But if you are able to, I kind of, I love the way you put that. Like, it won't affect you, but it could totally affect them. When I was, you know, working a lot of jobs at the marina, when I was helping people when I was doing maintenance of the golf course, and I would help out with their golf clubs and cars. When I was working in a hobby lobby and I would take people's stuff out to them, when they would give me a dollar, it would change my day because a few people would give you a dollar. Then all of a sudden you can almost buy lunch because of a few people just giving you a buck or so. So I say that not from somebody who's being judgmental, but from someone who has been in the situation and had their life changed by it. So Janet, appreciate the email.
Starting point is 00:38:01 Do not feel bad, but you can feel better. There you go. Close that out. Close that out there. And that was Bobby's mailbag. Thank you very much, everybody. Bobby Bones Show. Big three stories.
Starting point is 00:38:12 Let's go over to our producer, Ramundo. Ramundo, what you got over there? In health news, a man in his 70s from Seattle has become the second person in the U.S. to die from the coronavirus. And in New York City, they confirmed their first infected patient. In other news, at least 3,000 Amazon delivery driver. are going to be laid off by the end of April. And finally, in entertainment news, Oprah Winfrey,
Starting point is 00:38:34 she took a pretty hard fall on stage during a speech. She thanked fans for their support revealed she isn't seriously injured. That's awesome news. On the Bobby Bones show now. Abby Anderson. Here she is. Abby, how are you? Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 00:38:48 What's up? I just sent Abby a message on Instagram a couple days ago because on her Instagram stories, she was in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I'm still here. Oh, you are? That's why I woke up. I'm not going to lie. I woke up like 20 minutes ago, and I swear I set my alarm for earlier,
Starting point is 00:39:07 so you guys wouldn't hear like the morning voice, but I can tell it's still there, so I'm sorry. But it is beautiful here. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, I was so moved by the pictures that I said, I have to go there. I've never been to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. What about Jackson Hall's awesome?
Starting point is 00:39:24 The mountain, and it's the snow. The snow is in. saying I'm looking out the window right now and there's still fresh powder coming down. So I think I'm going to go snowboard here and just a little bit. But it's awesome. I've never been skiing or snowboarding. Are you serious? No, yeah, never.
Starting point is 00:39:42 So, wait, you have, though? Yes. Oh. Well, I will say Jacksonville is probably not like the best place to go for the first time. I've been doing the greens the whole time because even the blues here are like blacks. I don't know what that means. Level. Easy to hard.
Starting point is 00:39:57 Oh, levels. Exactly. I would say hi to everyone else. Hi. Hi, Abby. Hey. Abby Anderson is on. One of my favorite new artists.
Starting point is 00:40:06 Hey, let me ask you this question, Abby. Is your boyfriend, new boyfriend providing inspiration for your music lately? Yes. Can you tell? I feel like I went from writing sassy songs to love songs all of a sudden. But, I mean, you guys know in Nashville, they say write what you know. and this 22-year-old knows what it is to be loved. So I'm writing all the love songs right now.
Starting point is 00:40:32 Abby, how old is he? 27. And we're around the same birthday, so he's about to be 28, too. And your parents, they're down with him? They like him? They love him. Yeah, no, he passed the whole Anderson family test because there's six kids in my family, five of which are girls.
Starting point is 00:40:50 Oh, wow. Yeah, he had to get past all the Anderson sisters, which is a tough feat, but he did it. I'm going to read this. This was in Abby's bio and take it for what it's worth. It says Abby Anderson has had the privilege to open up for some of country's brightest stars, including Bobby Bones, Billy Currington, Brett Eldridge, walking. Who wrote?
Starting point is 00:41:11 Abby, did someone on your team write that? Because I'm honored to be in the description there. You are, so, I don't know if you knew this, but people know who you are. But am I one of country's brightest stars? I don't think so, folks. I don't know, you're selling out some theaters that I know a lot of artists don't. So, I'd say so. That's true.
Starting point is 00:41:31 Whatever you do. Okay. She got a great point. Keep me on the list. All right, Abby Anderson is on. Follow her on Instagram at Abby Anderson Music. And we're going to play I Still Love You. Abby, tell me about this song.
Starting point is 00:41:43 Yeah, I wrote this. Actually, I was on tour with Brett Eldridge. This was, golly, I think a year and a half ago. And I just started dating my boyfriend, but I was also thinking about all the relationships. I really look up to, like the marriages that are going on 25 years, and you just know they've gone through crap. You know what I mean? But, like, they're still making it through, and they just decide to love each other and just stay. And so I was thinking about that, and that's something I really want from my future and my relationship.
Starting point is 00:42:14 And that's where the songs came from. You just choose to keep on loving each other. Abby, good to talk to you, friend. Hey, thank you guys. Y'all have a good one. All right, bye, Abby. Bye. The Bobby Bone Show is proud to be supported by Grand Canyon University,

Ray Mundo, who does the news, who is in the glass room, is getting married October 24th. Mm-hmm. After basically seven years of being together.
Starting point is 00:46:00 Are you excited? Very excited. Lots still to do, but looking forward to it. It's something you really dream about a majority of your life, I would imagine. Are you guys doing the engagement photos? We are. Those are coming up. We got a little over a week, I'd say.
Starting point is 00:46:15 Until you do them? Yeah, we're doing them. How expensive is that? Uh, grand. Really? Wow. Yeah. That's one of the more pricier things. It's just shocking when you hear the price tag on it.
Starting point is 00:46:27 Why does it cost so much? Like, what do you have to do? You have to get a pony? Apparently she takes thousands of them. There's so many different outfits, stuff to choose from. Oh, you're doing outfit changes. Yeah, she suggested that. I asked if I could just do a t-shirt, white one, do a black one.
Starting point is 00:46:41 Keep it pretty relaxed, but she goes, no, need full outfit, multiple. My girlfriend, fiancee is doing the same as me. Nice catch. Yeah. My girlfriend, fiance, yeah. Get catch. Are you wearing a suit in these pictures? No, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:46:53 It's like a relaxed setting. And you already have this paid for. Like, you've already committed to this photographer. Yeah, we committed. I asked her, I said, you want me to cut the check? And she goes, Bay's dad already did. And I go, that's what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 00:47:06 Cool. Your girl's dad paid for the pictures. Yeah. Where are you guys doing the shooting of the pictures? So that's the thing. We've been throwing around some ideas, either at our apartment complex because you got the bluff behind us.
Starting point is 00:47:17 And then also we were thinking, near the chapel. But then something that just came up to me was, what if we did them at your crib? Oh. Wait, where at my house? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:26 No, no, I didn't say, no, I said, where at my house? You're kidding me? You got the pool, the waterfall,
Starting point is 00:47:32 the backyard, trees, shrubbery. Dude, and the rooftop, you got that whole patio on top of a garage or whatever that is. Those are picture-esque spots.
Starting point is 00:47:41 It is pretty. Really? I mean, I think it, yeah. By the way, waterfall, it's like,
Starting point is 00:47:49 It's tiny. Nine inches. That's like a foot long. I don't want listeners to get the wrong idea that I have Niagara Falls behind my house. That's true. It's like nine inches or a foot and it just rolls. I do have a pool, which is pretty nice. I never get in.
Starting point is 00:48:01 And that's just the outdoor photos. We can go inside. You've got a lot of chill areas and there's so many different dimensions to your house. We have so many options. If we're paying this chick, why not do it at a crib like that? Amy, would my house be good? I don't think so, right? I mean, I can see certain parts that would look good.
Starting point is 00:48:17 and if it would save the money on a venue, I don't know if you pay to take pictures somewhere, but... I'll tell you what, if you really want to use it, you can. Yeah! Just let me know and I'll be gone. You can have it for a couple hours. I don't know where you would shoot
Starting point is 00:48:29 because it's not like I have a crazy fancy house. I have a nice house, but it's not fancy or anything. You can have it. That's what I'm talking about. Honestly, I just need the permission. Okay. There is the fire pit. That could be cool.
Starting point is 00:48:41 Thank you. Which I've never used. There's no wood in it. The previous owners, didn't they have a garden or something? dead. I know it's dead. You killed the garden? I didn't kill it.
Starting point is 00:48:50 Who cares? But if they go back in that area, it could look like they're in the wilderness. You know, and be dodging dog poop the whole time in the backyard. The engagement pictures I've ever seen is just like the girls
Starting point is 00:48:59 I got a hand on the bark of a tree and the dude's behind it. That's a senior picture, Eddie. Oh, okay. Wrong one, though. You're gonna let a senior pictures. Ray, you can have my yard if you want. Perfect.
Starting point is 00:49:08 And indoors for the sectional couch and then I'll show the spiral staircase. That stuff that we can do pictures on? Is my staircase? No, it's a staircase? No. I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:49:17 You've been to my house, right? I have. I thought they twisted a little bit. They're straight stairs. They go down and there's one turn. But you know what? You can have it, Ray. Thank you so much.
Starting point is 00:49:26 Are you and your girl deciding on, are you sharing accounts now? She wants to do that. She's pushing towards that. I guess the day we were married. That's when we share the accounts. I'm a little bit, there's some trepidation with me right now.
Starting point is 00:49:38 Nice word. And secondly, you're going to combine accounts for the first time ever, right? Yeah. And I mean, that's when, so that's almost like double the money. You just open up.
Starting point is 00:49:45 the account. Whoa. Heyo. Spending money's free. So get two incomes coming into that thing. At the same. It's cool. It's double the money. It's cool, but I'm always used to where money's going. And then all of a sudden you get some weird stuff coming up on your account. Then I got to investigate. So yeah, we're still, I would say we're 50-50. She wants the accounts. It sounds good to have two incomes. I'm kind of maybe up in the air. She wants to join. He doesn't. They'll join. Yeah, join. Right. It's so much easier to just join. Like, it'll make a lot. life just more simple. Don't you agree, Eddie? Oh, yeah. Why, why complicate something that, I mean, y'all are sharing life together? It seems like a natural step. When do you have to make
Starting point is 00:50:25 this decision? I guess by the wedding day and I told her I'm trying to pay off some stuff. Let's get that credit score up and then let's join away. He's got some bets to settle. What does that mean? Gotta get bovada their money. A lot of people ask about your Donald Trump bet. Yeah. Ray bet a thousand dollars for Donald Trump to win the presidency, basically four years ago, three and a half years ago when he was more than that because he was not even the favorite on the Republican side at the time correct he was at 50 to one so they should owe you 50,000 dollars yep you still don't have it coming up probably in the next couple months you've said that for three and a half years though I know but he's still in office and they said it had to be a full term whenever that term when does
Starting point is 00:51:03 the term end well the elections in November and the inauguration is in January I think that's when I'm getting the money then so in like a year yes okay all right well there's a couple months A nice catch-up with our producer Raimundo. All right, Ramundo. The latest from Nashville and Hollywood. Morgan No. 2 is 32nd Skinny. Luke Combs says the reason he didn't graduate college was because he wasn't committed enough.
Starting point is 00:51:28 That was the thing I honestly struggled with a long time because I did want to graduate. I just don't know honestly if I could have, you know? Maybe I'm dumb for saying this, but I don't think I wasn't smart enough to graduate. I just don't think I was committed. on. Jake Owen sometimes doesn't understand how he got so lucky with his life.
Starting point is 00:51:47 There's so much great stuff going on that I think my hardest thing sometimes is struggling to appreciate every individual thing and every person that has helped that thing come along. Like, I find it interesting that I sometimes am the guy at the end of the table with microphones in front of his face explaining a life that I can't really explain. Miranda Lambert's husband has retired from the New York Police Department and is now reportedly acting as security for Miranda during her meet and greet's on tour. I'm Morgan number two. That's your skinny. It's time for the good news with Amy. Tell me something good. This is so genius. I think every hotel needs to do this, but there's a hotel
Starting point is 00:52:25 in Mississippi, home to suites by Hilton and Biloxi. And they have created this fostering hope program where when you check into a room, you can also have a puppy delivered that you can hang out with from a local shelter. And the puppy can stay with you in your hotel room. And then if you decide you want to adopt the puppy, you can do so when you check out. I like to cover my incidentals. I got the cookies from the minibar. I got the Red Bull. And I'll take the lab.
Starting point is 00:52:54 It's basically like you're fostering a puppy while you're staying somewhere. I mean, but a lot of times, I guess, if you're in a hotel, you're pretty busy because you're there for some reason. But you can have them at night and hang out with you. And then, yeah, what if you adopt one? On the contrary, when we tour? Oh, yeah, that's true. We sit in a hotel all the time.
Starting point is 00:53:11 We just like twill on our thumb. We could totally use a puppy around. I like anytime anybody can go, here's a way to adopt a dog. Regardless of whatever it is, because you don't have to have that puppy. It'd be different if you checked in your room and there was a bunch of puppies.
Starting point is 00:53:22 You're like, I don't want them in my room. So far, 33 people have gone home with a puppy from the Fostering Hope Hotel plan. Really? Yeah, so it's working. And I mean, how cool it would it be if you check in and be like, you want a puppy delivered to your room later? Yes.
Starting point is 00:53:38 Yeah, that's good. That's what it's all about right there. That was Tell Me Something. Good. Bobby Bones Show. Bonehead. Story of the day. Eddie's filling in for lunchbox. Eddie, what you got? A teacher in Florida was having trouble with a student and said,
Starting point is 00:53:51 you know what? You keep that mouth up. I'm going to wash it out with a bar of soap. Just like the old school days. Except she didn't have soap, so she used hand sanitizer. Oh, gosh. Is one worse than the other? I just feel like that's, I don't know, toxic. First of all, you shouldn't do that at school.
Starting point is 00:54:07 Like, that's where the bonehead comes in, I'm assuming. Or is it crazy that she would use hands? hand sanitizer over soap. I feel like they're both disgusting and you shouldn't do it. They're both pretty bad, but you know we've seen like in movies and stuff of people like using soap, put a bar of soap in their mouth and that washes their mouth out. Also, sanitizer can get kids drunk. Has alcohol in it. Yeah. But just a little bit. But I actually forgot about this tactic and maybe I had to do it once when I was like six. My grandmother put on a toothbrush. Put soap on a toothbrush. It may brush my teeth with it. Yeah. So it's not so bad except she used hand sanitizer.
Starting point is 00:54:40 But is it not acceptable? Is it not acceptable anymore? Yeah, they're both pretty bad. You probably shouldn't do that. And she works where? She works in a middle school. Okay, that's the issue right there. You can't do that to kids that aren't yours. Can't do that. Could you get in trouble doing that to your kids, though, if they told on you? These days, that's what I want to know, because I feel like it was effective for me as a kid.
Starting point is 00:54:59 Well, then I'm going to jail because I've done it. Not hand sanitizer, it's a bar soapbone. But your wife used to be a CPS officer. Yeah, a caseworker. And she worries about stuff like that too. But at this point, we're like, we have to do it. There's no, I mean, we got to learn from the movies. That's what they do in the movies, so it's got to be good parenting.
Starting point is 00:55:14 So you do it. So that's, we've done it. All right. To that teacher, though, she's the bonehead. She's the bonehead, and that's your bonehead story of the day. Bobby Bones. I'm reading this story about people who make plans and then never plan to keep them. I almost wanted to make this of what's wrong with people.
Starting point is 00:55:30 I would never make a plan without intention to keep it. More than one or four people admit they make plans with no intention of keeping the plans. And most commonly that make excuses of a family thing came up. I'm feeling sick or there's a crisis at work. If I have a plan with somebody and they say they're sick, though, I never questioned it. I'm like, good for you. You should stay home. Yeah, you should stay home.
Starting point is 00:55:49 Be honest, ever make a plan and go, you know, I probably won't go through with this, but I'll make the plan with them anyway. No, I don't make the plan. Like I may say, well, let's see if we can make that work. I guess if I'm on the fence, if I'm going to do it. But I don't ever fully go in like Friday, 6 o'clock, this restaurant, I'm all in. And then come up with some reason. I guess you can make a plan because someone's like,
Starting point is 00:56:10 hey, we need to do this. And you're like, okay, go ahead and put it down. But really, you know you're never going to go through with it. Okay. That bothered me. That bothers me that people would do that. I'm such a calendar person. I'm such a right down to the minute.
Starting point is 00:56:22 So if someone says like, hey, Bones, let's get dinner sometime. Bobby doesn't even say that anymore unless he means it. What's your response to that? Well, it depends if I want to go to the dinner with it. They just go sometime. I'm like, yeah, whatever. Sure, we'll set it up, I guess. But then you never do.
Starting point is 00:56:36 It's up to them to come at me and then I'll go no. But if someone's like, for example, Leslie, who works at Garth Brooks, Garth was here last week. I don't get to see her very often. I'm not even friends with a bunch of record people, but her and I've known each other for a long time. And she was like, hey, let's get dinner. And I wanted to get dinner, but I went right to it. All right, Wednesday, 6 o'clock, True Foods Kitchen, right here, boom, boom. Put in my calendar right then, and we will go.
Starting point is 00:56:57 Yeah, that'll happen. I'll dedicate it right to it. So, but I also don't tell people, hey, let's get together if I don't mean it. Never. I'd do that a lot. Yeah, never. I did see a story, too, where if you exercise late at night, it actually, does not affect your sleep, which there'll be times where it's after 6 o'clock and I go to bed at 8, 8.30,
Starting point is 00:57:14 where I'm like, oh, I should and I won't be able to go to go to sleep. Yeah, because I thought if you got like your heart rate all up and you're all ready to go, it gives you energy. I thought that too. Hitting the gym at night won't keep you tossing and turning all night. Contrary to popular belief, they did this study where they had them do high-intensity workouts at night and they did not sleep worse. As a matter of fact, they slept better and had more energy the next day.
Starting point is 00:57:37 It's like eating late. people, and I'm a big, I've been told if you eat late, your body digests it all night, and you don't sleep as well. So that I don't really do. I'm still doing Fit 33. Caitlin's still in town, but I, you know, I hit it hard before she got here because I wanted to like be in good shape, be skinny. I only see her for like half a week and then she's gone for half a week or so.
Starting point is 00:57:57 So I didn't eat dinner for, what? I'm worried about you. Why? Don't say anything about us waiting at me. I'm still in peacock mode. You still got to impress. Okay. But I think that she, I don't know,
Starting point is 00:58:08 if y'all love each other, but I was going to say loves you for who you are. I think she's into you for who you are. And like, you don't need to not. Oh, you want to hear, you want to hear the truth? You want to hear a meal? Because they're going to see their girlfriend or their boyfriend or their boyfriend. No, I eat way earlier than don't eat at night at all. Okay.
Starting point is 00:58:22 What's the truth? I don't, I don't sleep shirtless in the same bed with her right now. Why? Because I don't, like, I don't feel good. Mm-hmm. I'm not that. Jessica Simpson talked about that in her book with her husband. After she had babies, she felt so.
Starting point is 00:58:38 uncomfortable, she would shower with a shirt on. Wow. She didn't want him to see her naked. Seems crazy, but I get it. Yes. I mean, I, yeah, I don't, but. I would not swim with a shirt off for a lot of my life. I'm embarrassed how skinny I was. And now, and I sleep with my shirt off every night, but when she's
Starting point is 00:58:54 in, I don't, I'll sleep with a shirt on. Wow. I feel like some of the stuff you say because you're a guy, it's... You guys laugh at it. Yeah, a little bit. And I'm not saying it's right. Because it's a guy, we kind of ride it off as like, okay, Bobby Hall. But if a girl was saying that, my heart would hurt for her.
Starting point is 00:59:11 Give me a little heart hurt then. I know, and I should. Maybe it should be a little easier on you. Thank you. Right. It's my only goal. Like I would never want a girl to feel like. I'm fine. Because that's also too, I know that you're fine, but then I wonder, are you really not?
Starting point is 00:59:27 Well, thank you for caring. See, here's the thing about this room. It's either not safe at all or too safe. We're too safe right now. We never just right on. It's either like, yeah, yeah. But I'm just sharing with you guys. I don't sleep without a shirt on.
Starting point is 00:59:43 Right now. That may change. We'll see. Yeah. We'll see. The Bobby Bone Show is proud to be supported by Grand Canyon University, an affordable, private, nonprofit Christian University based in beautiful Phoenix, Arizona.

Starting point is 01:03:33 So auditions for American An Idol continued last night, and I got two people that I want to talk about. First is Dylan James, and he had a tattoo of Jesus on his chest, and Katie Perry ended up calling him a country post-Malone, and he performed Make You Feel My Love by Bob Dylan. To make you feel my love. I don't know that, I know him. He's from Bakersfield. I don't know that he felt like country post-Malone. He dresses country, but he's not really that country.
Starting point is 01:04:02 Good, good kid, good dude He's tattooed his whole body He was homeless living in his car for a while Had some huge drug problems And cleaned himself up completely So more than... And he's good, you can turn him back up for a second, Ray? Okay, cool.
Starting point is 01:04:18 I guess the clip ended right there But he's good. What else you got? Well, Lauren Musetti She was one of the country artists last night And she auditioned with an original song Her fiancee played the guitar for her And his name is Sean Camp
Starting point is 01:04:31 He's also a country artist He's a songwriter in town Okay. And he's 58 and she's 28. Just fun fact. Here you go. Here's a club for her. Yeah, she's good. And again, he's written some songs. I don't know which songs he's written like that have been on the radio. Oh, songs that we'd know. And she's good. And she made it through, huh? I know she made it through because I've been working with her. Yeah. Those were the best from last night. He's 58. She's 28.
Starting point is 01:05:08 Fun fact. Yeah, pretty fun. Yeah, just fun fact. Real quick. All right. What else? So CBS has suspended Amazing Race over the coronavirus. Wow. They had a crew. They had the teams.
Starting point is 01:05:20 They had the contestants. They were all out and about. They had started filming the 33rd season and now they had pressed pause and everyone has been sent home like has been told to just go home or done right now. And how crazy.
Starting point is 01:05:31 You probably try to meet on an amazing race forever and you finally get picked and then... I mean, I'm sure that they would still keep these people though once it picks back up, right? I would think so. Yeah. I would think that if we were to say, hey, we're going to take a break from our show because of coronavirus. We'd still pick back, back up.
Starting point is 01:05:48 Well, do you think they'd go for that? I mean, how do you say no? Right. We're like, I don't know. I'm just not feeling good about coronavirus. We're not going to go in today. So like 80,000 people worldwide have had it. So they're just like, with Amazing Race and we travel the world.
Starting point is 01:05:59 It's probably best to not go out and about. All right. What else? And lastly, I have the biggest cause of arguments between couples. So you and Caitlin have been dating what? How many months now? three, four? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:12 Have you even had a fight yet? Uh-huh. Yeah? Do you want me to go over these? I'm going to go over them real quick and see. Well, we don't argue about money because we're not in each other's money business yet. That's not even on here. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:06:24 Surprisingly. So, not showing enough love or affection. No, we're okay there. We're still new. So that's all like, let me lick your neck. Lack of communication. Lack of communication. I've been really over-in.
Starting point is 01:06:41 emphasizing trying to communicate. No, we haven't thought about, I don't think you should run those bias, because we haven't really fought that much. Just what are they? Okay. Not being appreciated. Feelings, jealousy,
Starting point is 01:06:53 talking to an ex-girlfriend or ex-boyfriend, being possessive, and friends, like, if you hang out with your friends, like, way too much, or you want your friends with y'all, like, all the time. I don't have, I have two friends. You're both here, so we're all good. Here are some songs by Sean Kant that he wrote. Okay.
Starting point is 01:07:10 He wrote two Pina coladas, Garth Brooks. Oh wow, cool. He wrote, would you go with me, Josh Turner, nobody but me, Blake Shelton, River of Love, George Strait. So he's got some songs. Yeah. Yeah, so I don't know he was on the show. I didn't get to watch the cut of the show last night.
Starting point is 01:07:25 We were flying back from Tampa from Strawberry Festival. Like, I know all of them because I've been with them, but I don't even know who got through. I mean, I didn't know who got shown last night. So, okay, is that it? Yeah, maybe that's my pile. That was Amy's pile of stories. It's time for the good news.
Starting point is 01:07:40 With Bobby. Tell me something good. In Fort Valley, Georgia, a police officer is getting a new kidney thanks to a teacher that he barely knew. Captain Gerald Smith's been working with the Fort Valley Police Department for 27 years. But for the last five, he's been on dialysis just waiting for a new kidney. So upon hearing about his situation, this sixth grade teacher, Tara Craig, felt inspired to help. They didn't know each other, but she said she felt like God was calling her to help. Now, they weren't an exact match.
Starting point is 01:08:09 She's type B blood. He's type O. Instead of Tara giving her kidney directly to the captain, they signed up for this donor pairing program. That moved them to the top of the list. And just a few weeks later, they found a match for the police officer in Utah. So because she said she was going to give a kidney,
Starting point is 01:08:28 she still gave a kidney and went to someone else, and they found him a kidney quicker too. Wow. So it took a few weeks because of this program, because of her saying, I'm stepping in. they moved up. Captain Smith is excited, a little nervous. She's also a little nervous, but they're going to both benefit from this. I want to give someone a kidney. Do you? Like, it just sounds cool. And it's just something already in your body anyway.
Starting point is 01:08:53 It's still got to be scary, even for the people doing it. I think that this kidney donation sharing the positive stories is affecting people on a great way for you to even go, I like to give a kidney. It feels like it cool. Like that's popular culture, kidney giving popular culture. popular culture working. That's right. I'd never thought about it. I'd like to give somebody, I don't know. A lock of hair.
Starting point is 01:09:16 A fingernail. I know, but it is, like, that's why I was saying. Like, it is, we get all the feels when it came down to it. Are you going to go sign yourself up? I don't know. It's still a little scary. I think I would if it was somebody that, like if I was moved to do it. If it was close to me, I think I would.
Starting point is 01:09:29 That's cool, man. For sure. All right, there you go. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. The latest from Nashville and Hollywood. Morgan, number two. 30 Second Skinny.
Starting point is 01:09:39 Luke Combs says the reason he didn't graduate college was because he wasn't committed enough. That was the thing I honestly struggled with a long time because I did want to graduate. I just don't know honestly if I could have, you know? Yeah. Maybe I'm done for saying this, but I don't think I wasn't smart enough to graduate.
Starting point is 01:09:57 I just don't think I was committed enough. You know, I talked to him about this in my podcast, and he said that he had like one year left, but he had like, of his one year left, he had like three intro classes he needed to take and he couldn't actually fit them all in. It was going to take him over a year to take one year for the classes. He was like, you know what?
Starting point is 01:10:14 No need. And he was already starting to feel the music bug. So yeah, and good for us that he did. Jake Owen sometimes doesn't really understand how he got to be so lucky with his life. There's so much great stuff going on that I think my hardest thing sometimes is struggling to appreciate every individual thing
Starting point is 01:10:32 and every person that has helped that thing come along. Like, I find it interesting that I sometimes am the guy at the end of the table with microphones in front of his face explaining a life that I can't really explain. You know, I often feel that way about Jake's life too. Nice. Like I said about my life. Yeah, yeah, what else? And Miranda Lambert's husband has retired from the New York Police Department and is now reportedly acting as security for Miranda during her meeting greet on tour. Well, I would say I bet it's more than just meeting greets.
Starting point is 01:11:00 I bet he's like running that show. I saw a story too that's like Miranda's husband now running meet and greets and I was like stop it he's like real deal I'm sure he's running security detail for her sure and part of that is overseeing meeting greet and greets so he's not just working 30 minutes a day yeah he's like click click click bait all right Morgan number two is that up yep Morgan number two that's your skinny here we go over to Amy with the morning corny here we go the morning corny Man, what do you get when you cross a lemon and a cat? What do you get when you cross a lemon and a cat?
Starting point is 01:11:50 A sourpuss. All right, there you go. That was the morning corny. Let's go to Josh in Florida. Josh, what's up, dude? Oh, all right, a morning studio. Morning. So what did you think of the strawberry festival?
Starting point is 01:12:08 And did anyone have an Amish donut or strawberry shortcake? We played Strawberry Festival in Tampa yesterday. This is what happened. So we get out there and it's about 10 minutes before we go on stage. And so we have our little uniforms that we wear as the raging idiots. And mine was in the car and they drove off. The car drove off and left and I had no clothes to wear. And so it's time for us to go on stage and I have no clothes.
Starting point is 01:12:37 And I'm like, well, they're like, okay, the car be back in five minutes. So I run over to the side of the stage and I keep waiting for the car to drive back. and I'm like Eddie you guys got to go on stage and stall until like I was going to have to go on shorts and no shirt and I just didn't want to do that right and so I would have loved it but you didn't want to do it I don't know they would have loved it I think that so I hear the band go
Starting point is 01:12:55 and they're just playing there's no singing and it's like four minutes of nothing but the band going and then Eddie I hear Eddie go oh boy and then he goes alright let me introduce the band I'm not even on stage at this point I have no clothes on I'm I'm like so they're right that finally the car
Starting point is 01:13:11 drives up it's 15 minutes after the show should have started. I'm looking at Instagram's going, Bobby's late. And I'm like, I know. There's nothing I could do. They ran off on my clothes. And so Eddie's like, and here's our drummer. Great egg. Drum solo. Here's our bait. And the
Starting point is 01:13:27 crowd had to be like, what is happening? Usually they do this in the middle of a show if they do it at all. So finally we went on. We played for about an hour and a half. It was great. There was so many people to show up. So shout out to Plant City, Tampa because that was a lot of fun yesterday. I did not eat an Amish donut, did you?
Starting point is 01:13:46 No, I didn't either. What is that? What is that, Josh, an Amish donut? So think of a glazed donut the size of your head, and you can either get it just as a glazed donut, or they do put the strawberries, and you can get chocolate over top of it. It's a calorie nightmare.
Starting point is 01:14:02 Bobby, I know it's probably not up your alley, but I was hoping Eddie might have tried it. Sounds delicious, but no, I didn't even know what existed. The only thing was Kayla went over and got ice cream It said we have 18 flavors of ice cream And she came back with a chocolate and a vanilla And I was like, then 18 flavors And you came back with a chocolate and a vanilla
Starting point is 01:14:18 And not even that, it's strawberry festival And one wasn't a strawberry So I did have a little ice cream When we left We did a bunch of listeners before the show We did like three different meet and greets And so, but I'm not trying to get coronavirus Why?
Starting point is 01:14:35 You're not, and I can tell Because I was like Let's just do daps And so we just did. dapped. And I think the crew went and told them all, hey, listen, Bobby's not trying to get coronavirus. So we're just going to do daps and pictures. So I think everyone was cool with it. Like everyone that came by was like, respect. Let's do daps. Let's all not get sick. I want to get stuff easier. Listen, it's not even about coronavirus. I don't even want to touch
Starting point is 01:14:56 anybody's hand anyway. True. But I could use that being in the news as a reason to not have to touch people's hands. So that was, but it was good. We had a really, really great time yesterday. And then got back and Idol was on last night. Watch that. Caitlin and Amad are, Amad's our background dancer, singer, a really good friend, but he's going to stay in Nashville for a couple days. He's going to stay here to Wednesday now and go to the opera with his tour. Yeah. So it was a real fun, real fun Sunday. Did you go to the show, Josh, or no?
Starting point is 01:15:24 I actually double-booked a guy ski trip. My wife and her whole family were there, and there's actually a really cute photo that my wife tagged you in Instagram on of my five-month-old daughter at your concert with her little pink headphones on. So they had a blast They said it was awesome And I'm really bummed I missed it Some kid was showing his cattle Dressed as me in a raging idiot
Starting point is 01:15:47 And dressed Eddie up as the green Raging Idiot The cow was dressed as me Yeah the cow was Eddie That was awesome Yeah so it was a lot of fun We appreciate everybody who came out And hope they had fun
Starting point is 01:15:57 It's good The Bobby Bone Show Okay let's welcome in Our guest host for the day She is a friend of the show Here she is Luke Brian's wife And our friend Caroline Bryant
Starting point is 01:16:08 There she is Hi Caroline, good morning Good morning Amy said she walked in the green room a second ago and she said hey what's up and you're like I just need to be myself
Starting point is 01:16:17 but tone it down no need to tone anything down around here I have to I have to behave how are you this morning I'm good how are y'all
Starting point is 01:16:24 what do you do when you wake up in the morning with all the kids there like what's the morning routine? Typically my alarm goes off at 5.30 I get up
Starting point is 01:16:32 I have about 30 minutes alone I get to have my coffee watch the news or golden girls and then I get the kids up at six breakfast time.
Starting point is 01:16:41 They get to chill. 6.30 is showers. 7 o'clock is... Showers. It's like a team. All right. Hit the showers, boys and girls. They do it. Yeah, they have to have a shower every morning.
Starting point is 01:16:50 They're just accustomed to it. That's their routine. And then we're off by seven. Yep. Do you take them to school? Any of them? Are they now old enough to forge their own Ubers? Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:17:00 They Uber to the house. They all older their Ubers? Till is the oldest. Till's 18, so he drives. But they go to separate schools. So I carpool with a friend who's a neighbor. So we'll switch off.
Starting point is 01:17:09 She'll drive them. I'll pick them up or I'll drive them and she'll pick them up. So that's kind of how it is. Man, that's a lot. It is. I was looking at that video of you riding the cooler around the house. Oh, yeah. When you guys, what was that cooler? It's a cooler, but it's a scooter.
Starting point is 01:17:25 So you can put anything in there and just ride around. But did you ever use that other than that video? This is probably, that's probably my fourth cooler scooter. I use it for tennis matches with my team. I'll just fill it up with anything. and we'll just, I'll take it to wherever we're playing. It's been wrecked by almost every girl on my team, so this is my fourth one, and they sent me a free one this time.
Starting point is 01:17:50 So yeah, she used that. What do you mean tennis matches? Are you a tennis player? Yes. Are you good? I mean, I'm, I guess, better than average, but nothing's spectacular. I mean, it's just a bunch of moms. It's our outlet, so.
Starting point is 01:18:03 Did you play tennis in high school or college or anything? No, I didn't. I played one year in high school, just to honestly, get out of doing hurdles and track because I hated it, but I had no idea what I was doing. And then I picked it up again when my son, who's almost 12, when he was about nine months old, because I just had to get out of the house. Luke was never home. So I had to hit something that couldn't be a child or Luke. So you went to college at Georgia Southern. Yep. And that's where you and Luke met? I did when I was 18. First week of college, met him in a bar.
Starting point is 01:18:35 So was he playing or just hanging out? was just hanging out and I was just in the bar and he sent a buddy over to talk to me and I looked across the bar and I just see this person with the biggest, whitest teeth smiling and waving. And so we spoke and but nothing happened for a couple of weeks. What does his buddy say? I know this is a long time ago. All of us, it's been a while for all of us. We've been 18.
Starting point is 01:19:01 Yeah. But what does his buddy, if Luke sends his buddy over, what does his buddy say? He just, he walked up and he had this really, really. deep voice and he's our neighbor now, which is so weird. We had no idea this was going to happen, but he said, hey, because everybody, you can always spot a freshman and everybody calls him fresh meat and he was like, hey, you know, I'm so-and-so, are you new? I was like, yeah, of course. And I was terrified because I'd never been to a bar. He goes, my friend over there would like to buy you a drink. And I didn't let anybody buy me drinks. I still don't. And I looked over and
Starting point is 01:19:38 Luke's waving with these just big white teeth and I'm like, oh, God, what is this? But then we spoke and he's so funny that I just was instantly like, yeah. It said that you guys dated for a while and broke up for a while. We did. How long did you break up? Almost five years. Oh, that's like, apart for almost five years. We were apart apart.
Starting point is 01:19:57 We were on a break. Yes. Almost five years. And where were you living whenever you were, you guys were apart? Were you in Nashville? I was in Georgia. So I stayed in Georgia, finished school, had a couple jobs. and then just by some, I mean, it was fate.
Starting point is 01:20:11 I was working in a town and had to stay overnight, and Luke was playing at the bar there. And so I went with a couple of friends, and we saw each other, and it was like, I knew it was different, because we were apart for five years, but when we saw each other, it was just, we knew it was something different,
Starting point is 01:20:31 and we've been in touch, and we just kind of picked up and never looked back. At what part of his, music career was that? Because if he's playing in a bar, it's obviously not big, Luke Bryan, at that point. He had just signed his deal. And I sent him an email, because this was before texting, really ever picked up. So I sent him an email and told him, congrats, because we always would stay in touch a little bit. But I sent him an email, told him, congrats. I was proud, never thought twice about it, saw him in the bar. And I almost did not pursue getting back together because I was so scared of what people would
Starting point is 01:21:05 think if they would think that we were getting back together because he got a record deal, which everybody in this town knows, that means nothing. Right. It could just fail at any moment. But we got back together anyway and spent, that was, I guess, 16 years ago. He just texted me. Let's see what he's saying here. I think he's reviewing the conversation.
Starting point is 01:21:25 He's like, actually. He said she's a great tennis player. Well, he's being very nice. So you're pretty good, huh? I mean, I enjoy it. I've met some of my best friends playing. and I mean, I play a good bit. I think phenomenal, no.
Starting point is 01:21:39 I hear a challenge. Wimbledon. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Caroline Bryant is here. So we're going to do the 90s TV draft coming up. Are you familiar with how this works? Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 01:21:48 So I'll go first and I'll pick my favorite 90s TV show, then Amy, then you. Then we make a team and then we see which team does the best as voted by our listeners. Okay, you got, so Caroline Bryant's here. All right. Amy's here. Here. Yeah, I'm here. Eddie's here.
Starting point is 01:22:04 Everybody's here. We're all here. you guys want to hop on you can our phone number is 87777 bobbie 877 777 bobby what's georgia southern like to go to college oh so much fine oh how do you get a bar at 18 by the way i know you said a drink you're 18 what's happening there i had my older sister's ID so do you guys look a lot of like we do we do i don't look like my older sister i don't have an older sister did you ever go to a bar before you were 21 but i was working in radio
Starting point is 01:22:35 at 17, and so I got in because I was always working. Okay. It's different. Yeah, but I didn't drink, so it didn't matter. I didn't know, because some bars... I still want to go to bars and have it put an X on my hand, just because it makes me feel all at home. Yeah. There's some that are,
Starting point is 01:22:51 I remember, I think, like, well, in college station, because I would text A&M, there was one bar across the street where you could be 18 and up and get in, but I don't know what the heck you would be doing there if you weren't drinking. And then the one across the street, it'd be 21 and up. And, like, yeah, people would have to use fake IDs to get in. Starting point is 01:26:54 Did you drink a bunch of coffee this morning or do you wake up ready to go? No, I had two cups, so I need to chill out a little bit. Do you just drink coffee straight? You do... Ugh, no. I... I, cream, just a little bit of cream. That's it. I can't, you know, I was getting made fun of this weekend.
Starting point is 01:27:09 I went by and got a coffee, but I don't like coffee. So, but I get a dirty chai latte with almond milk and two shots of espresso with two pumps of vanilla. It's just like, it's a very extra order. And I'm just trying to cover up for the fact that I don't like coffee. And my girlfriend will just do coffee. Like dark roast. It's simple and easy. Just dark roast, like manly.
Starting point is 01:27:30 And I'm like, can I get a flip? Can I get some sprinkles in a fru-fru? Can you kiss the cup, please? We're going to do our 90s TV show draft. So how this works is we try to draft teams. So I'll go first. I have the first pick in the 90s TV show draft, and I will draft with my first pick, the show Friends.
Starting point is 01:27:50 Oh, of course. I know. I know. I expected that. Yeah. And so what happens is as we go around the room, each of us get three picks, and you go to Bobbybones.com and vote on the team that you think is the best,
Starting point is 01:28:01 like fantasy football. So I have Friends is my first pick. Amy, that's so good. What is your first pick? First round pick. I'm going to go 90s full house. Oh, that's a good one. Taking all the good ones.
Starting point is 01:28:15 All right, Caroline, you have pick number three. The theme is 90s TV shows. What are you thinking about? My all-time favorite show, I don't know if this will get vetoed because it started in the 80s but went off in the 90s. Then you're fine. As long as it was on in the 90s. Golden girls.
Starting point is 01:28:31 Oh, and down. Wow. She didn't, you watch the Golden Girls in the morning? I watch it. If it's on, I'm watching it. What channel was it on early in the morning? Sometimes, I know numbers on the TVs. I don't really know.
Starting point is 01:28:44 Like TV land or all that stuff. Eddie, your first pick in the 90s draft. You all took some really good ones, but you left a good one on the board too. Seinfeld. Come on. That's a good one. Woo! All right, all right.
Starting point is 01:28:57 Friends is off the list. Steinfeld, full house is off the list. Golden Girls. All right, Morgan number two, you are the final pick of this round. What 90s TV show are you taking? I got to go with the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Great. Solid.
Starting point is 01:29:13 Really good. All right, Friends Full House, Golden Girl, Seinfeld, Fresh Prince. Those are all first round picks. Now we go backward for the second round. Morgan, number two, you get the first pick of the second round. Go ahead. I got to stay strong with sex in the city. Interesting.
Starting point is 01:29:28 I didn't even have that on my list here. Wow. All right. Eddie? I'm going to go with Zach Slater, the crew, saved by the bell. That's a good one. That was my next one if you didn't pick it. All right, Caroline.
Starting point is 01:29:43 Okay. One of my next favorites, Will and Grace. Oh, I didn't have that on my list. Oh, good one. Amy? I'm going to go 90210. Ooh. Rest in peace, Luke Perry.
Starting point is 01:29:57 Seriously, though. For real. Okay. All right, by the way, Steve is a referee in this? Correct, yes. How much time do we have? In this round, you'll have 10 seconds. That's it?
Starting point is 01:30:08 That's it. Who made that rule? You did. You went 30, 2010. I love that rule. That's a great rule. Oh, my gosh. Go ahead and start the timer.
Starting point is 01:30:17 All right, let's do it. Hmm. I like mine. Mine's going to be diverse. You have five seconds. I'm going to go with everybody loves Raymond. Oh, my good one. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 01:30:30 Oh, my gosh. All right. Everybody's got two picks in. I have Friends and Raymond. Amy has Full House in 90210. Caroline Bryan has Golden Girls and Will and Grace. Eddie has Seinfeld and Saved by the Bell. And Morgan number two has fresh prints and sex in the city.
Starting point is 01:30:47 We each have one more pick. How long do we have in this round? It's 10 seconds for the final round. Oh, my gosh. We need to have a challenge on these rules. Oh, I'm sorry. That's my fault. It was 20 seconds in the last round and 10 this one.
Starting point is 01:30:59 That is my fault. So we get 20 on this round. Make up right. I'll give it to you. Okay, yes. All right, go ahead and start the timer. Okay, cool, let's do it. I'm thinking about
Starting point is 01:31:07 those you gotta take it. You gotta go. Time clocks a tick. Hey, hey, hey, relax over there. Five seconds. Oh my gosh. I'm gonna go with Roseanne. Ooh.
Starting point is 01:31:24 Oh. Thought so. Okay. Amy? I'm in with Family Matters. Oh, why did you judge Roseanne? I didn't. You like Time Matters over Roseanne?
Starting point is 01:31:36 No, I didn't judge Roseanne. I know, but I saw your face. No, my face was okay. Okay, you took everybody loves Raymond for me, first of all. Second of all, when I picked 902.1,0, you had no comment. I felt very judged. Caroline? All right.
Starting point is 01:31:50 I'm going with Melrose Place. Good one. Eddie? Guys, come on. Home improvement. Let's go. Final pig, Morgan. This is a big one on Disney.
Starting point is 01:32:04 Boy Meets World. Okay, we have our teams here. I have friends Raymond and Roseanne. Amy has full house 90210 and family matters. Caroline Bryan has Golden Girls, Will & Grace, and Melrose Place. Eddie's got Seinfeld, Saved by the Bell and Home Improvement. So good. And Morgan number two has fresh prints, sex in the city, and boy meets world.
Starting point is 01:32:24 You can go vote to bobbybones.com. We'll put our teams up. Caroline, how do you feel about your team? It's strong. Strong like it. I'd watch all. Strong like bull. Let me put Dan on.
Starting point is 01:32:34 Dan in Boston. You're on the phone. Caroline Bryan isn't with us. What's happening? Good morning, Caroline. I was hoping that you could talk a little bit about Brett Barne. I think the audience would really love to hear all about it. The little bit I know about it is just, it's a really fascinating story.
Starting point is 01:32:57 And although I'm calling from way up here in Still Cold Boston, my closest friend is Mark Lance. Oh, yes. and his wife Margaret and obviously the daughter Caroline. And that's how I heard of Brett the Barn and Caroline for a visit there. And so if you could maybe talk a little bit about that, I think that would be great. So what's Brett's Barn? Brett's Barn is, it's on our farm at our home.
Starting point is 01:33:26 It's a rescue barn for rescue animals. It was started when my niece Brett passed away at seven months old. When she was first born, I was kidding around. and I told her that I would buy her whatever she wanted. I was going to buy her white pony. Well, when Brett passed away, it was kind of my way of coping and dealing with another loss in our family because our families had so many.
Starting point is 01:33:50 Well, ironically enough, a friend of mine who volunteers at a rescue shelter called me and said, we just got a miniature white pony that's been rescued. I'm saving it for you. So I turned one of Luke's old barns into something called I painted Brett's barn. on there. And two ponies turned into like 23 animals. And we just got two more rescue ponies in Saturday. So right now it's not open to the public, but that is my ultimate goal is to build
Starting point is 01:34:19 a public Brett's barn. And we've had all kinds of special needs kids, heart babies, just a lot of people come out and they can play with the animals because almost every animal out there is a mini. And they're almost all our rescue animals who have some crazy, crazy stories. But that's kind of Brett's barn, and it's very therapeutic for anybody who goes out there, because the kids get to go and have a good time, and the parents feel like they can breathe for a minute. Because some of these families have been in the hospital for over 100 days. And so when they finally get the okay to come see and play the animals,
Starting point is 01:34:55 it's just, it's good for everybody. On your Instagram, you're able to highlight a lot of the philanthropy that you do. Yes. Is that for you the biggest part about being on Instagram? because I know for a long time you were private. Yes, that's why I spent a lot of time talking because I am by nature a private person and our life is pretty public because of what Luke does.
Starting point is 01:35:15 But I figured you've got to take the good with the bad, but if I put it out there, any awareness for what our family is trying to do is worth it. So, I mean, I'm glad I did it because it's sent over so much traffic to my sister-in-law's page, which is at Bright for Brett. And we're trying to, we've been a foundation for about three years now, and we've raised almost $4 million for heart babies and families
Starting point is 01:35:44 and various charities for rescue animals. So it's going well. So I'll take the bad stuff any day. Do you ever get weird comments on your Instagram and you're like, why do they say this? Oh, people are weird. Some people are so kind, but some people are just stupid. Like telling me I have wrinkly knees and not to wear short.
Starting point is 01:36:04 dress and or just weird comments but but everybody gets them so I don't care I just usually say something smarter just to not reply at all isn't it weird to how we we'll get 95% positive comments but we all we tend to focus on that those few and it's a character flaw of me I will dial in and go oh I can't believe everybody hates me it's like there are two comments and I I focus on them and I and I try not to but I let them kind of bring me down at times yeah yeah I mean but But I hardly ever respond to those comments, but there have been a couple of times when, I mean, honestly, I'll just tell somebody to go eat a fart. Just because I can't deal with it. I mean, I don't do that to anybody.
Starting point is 01:36:50 So, right. I don't know why people will do that. And I think your knees are great. Yeah. We were doing a list before. We drafted Best Knees earlier, and you were the first non-picking best knees. Trust me, my knees are not the best knees. Our guest host today is Caroline Bryan.
Starting point is 01:37:06 Do you watch American Idol with Luke? Oh, yeah, every Sunday. You watched last night? We did. And does he make comments about himself? Yeah, he'll be like, oh, I look fat sitting there. I mean, he'll say stuff like that. I'm like, you're such a girl.
Starting point is 01:37:21 But he laughs through it. I mean, because it's always entertaining to see them, like, those three interact because they're just, they're hilarious. You know, what's fun to me is that, and unexpected to me is I've become so invested in those people's performances and then lives. And I know Luke does too, you start to actually care for them. And you don't expect going on a show like American Idol that you're like, okay, it's a factory. People will come. But you don't.
Starting point is 01:37:47 You actually bond to them and root for them and get sad. He has to cut people. Yeah, he doesn't like that part. Which I am glad I don't have to do. But he has to go no to people. Does he ever go, oh, man, I shouldn't have cut them or I should have cut them while watching it? He's said a couple of times, we should have cut them,
Starting point is 01:38:04 but we let them through for a certain reason. But he's never said, I shouldn't have cut them. So he's, they're usually pretty spot on with it. And they do allow people through who they know is not going to make it to the top, but, you know, just got to do it. Yeah. Caroline Bryan is here.
Starting point is 01:38:24 We asked her before the break to give us her Mount Rushmore favorite musical artist. It was up to you to put Luke on there or not. Well, he's always the top, but I was scrolling through my music just to see, oh my God, I can't believe I'm going to say this, my sister-in-law was going to love it. I may have to say
Starting point is 01:38:40 Yin-Yang twins. I mean, I've listened to them oh my God for years. Yeah. It's just good. Do you have a favorite yin-yang twin song? Shake it like a salt shaker? I love shake. I love shake. Oh, God. To the window! To the wall!
Starting point is 01:38:54 Oh, yes. We can't say the rest of it. that sentence. I learned the lyrics. Everybody's singing it in their cars right now. Does that remind you going to bars when you were younger? Yes. Dancing at college. I mean, I still listen to it. It's still on a couple of playlists. And my sister-in-law, she can wrap every word, every song. Okay, Ying-Ying twins are one of your Mount Rushmore. Go ahead. Who else do you have? Probably my all-time favorite song and people, they think it's stupid, but I love it, is jump by the point of sisters. Okay. I love that song. I like the list. We're diverse here. We have I have yin-yang twins, the pointer sisters.
Starting point is 01:39:28 Go ahead. I mean, Adele is amazing. Ad-Di- She just is. And then, oh, my gosh, there's just... One more. One more. Who do I just love?
Starting point is 01:39:38 And I know it's... I mean, I've always been a big fan of Carrie Underwood. Always have been. Nice list. I think she's great. And then your one alternate will be Luke, your husband. Absolutely. Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:39:53 If I were to give you the first line of Luke Bryan's song, could you name the song? Yes, I'm pretty positive. Okay, let's try it out. Here we go. If I can make a living, walking in the woods, you could bet I'd be sitting pretty good. Hunting, Fish, and Lovin every day.
Starting point is 01:40:11 There it is. Wow. You're really sure about this. I like the... Well, now you're scaring me. Okay. I'm going to find something random. These are all the first lines of Luke Bryan's songs.
Starting point is 01:40:21 Here's the next one. I got that real good, feel good stuff. Mm-hmm. Up under the seed in my big black jacked. truck. That's my kind of night. That's my... That's my... I had real good, feel, good stuff.
Starting point is 01:40:35 Up under the seat of my big black jacked-up truck. Hmm, let's go back in time. Baby, what are we becoming? It feels like we're always running. Do I? Nice. Okay. Would you ever get on stage and sing with him?
Starting point is 01:40:48 Oh, God, nobody wants to do that. But you never went by the... Hey, baby, let me just get up with you at Farm Tour of this show, just for fun. Now, I've, like, run out on stage before, especially when he... sings Sweet Caroline, but that's something nobody should ever see or hear. It's awful. Awful.
Starting point is 01:41:06 Not even for fun one time you want to get the microphone and have a little something. I mean, I probably would if I had a couple of drinks in me. Nice. That's what we're working on the duet here. She was sitting all alone over on the tailgate, tan leg swinging by a Georgia plate. Play it again. Nice.
Starting point is 01:41:22 She was sitting all alone over a row. What's your favorite Luke song? My favorite Luke song. Do do, do, do. What comes to mind first? You don't have to stay committed to it forever. You know, this was not a single, but I loved beer in the headlights. And I loved way, way back.
Starting point is 01:41:41 Those are two good ones that he never singled. So I love those two. Were there any songs that he has that turned in? You're like, I'm just not a big fan of it. That he singled? Or that he's singled, yeah. Which, my least favorite. Do you hear and you go, oh, not my favorite?
Starting point is 01:41:59 You know what? My least favorite is probably raining. is a good thing. People love it, but yeah, I don't know. That may be my least favorite. He's going to kill me for saying. I love you. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:42:12 How dialed in are you with helping the kids study when they come home with homework and stuff? Oh, we do. Oh, God, it's a nightmare. My 12-year-old is great. He'll come in and knock it out and I'll check it. But my nine-year-old, it's like wrestling cats. And I cannot do math.
Starting point is 01:42:30 I don't know, I don't know how Amy. Oh, I'm not doing that. I mean, I'm, I'm, my daughter and son have their math out and I'm Googling it and I'm going to Instagram. There's a lot of teachers on Instagram and they, you can send them a screenshot and they'll give you back how to do it. It's awful because we're, how they're taught now is not how we were taught. So we just get into a fight. I cannot do third grade math or fifth grade math. I can't.
Starting point is 01:42:56 Wait to you get to sixth grade. It's, it just, it's not fun. So. Do they have such different personalities? They do. Bo is almost 12. He'll be 12 in a couple weeks. He is Luke made over.
Starting point is 01:43:08 The way his body looks, the way he talks, the way he acts. Bo, he could walk into any room and he's ready to entertain. Tate is more like me. He's a little more reserved and shy, and he's fine being in the background. But then he has this really funny side to him, too. So they're pretty different, but they're awesome. Let's do one call here from Debbie in Florida. Hey, Debbie, you're on with Caroline Bryan.
Starting point is 01:43:32 What do you want to know? I want to know about LaClair. I love Leclair. I want to be Leclair when I grow up. So Leclair's Luke's mom. Yes. Yeah. She's a handful.
Starting point is 01:43:44 She is crazy. She has zero filters. So you don't know what's going to come out of her mouth. But she loves hard. But I do make a joke. When people meet her and if they walk off and she wants to go talk to them, I mean, sometimes I'll be like, do you have a heart condition? Because I don't know what you're about to get into.
Starting point is 01:44:05 And they'll stare at me like, is she going to kill me? But you just never know what's going to happen with his mom. Like his mom is just, she's so much fun. And she's gone through some of the worst things a mother can ever go through. But she still chooses to have fun with life. But yeah, you never know what she was about to happen with her or what she's going to do or say. The prank on the golf course. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:44:29 Where it looked like a super fan was attacking Luke, and she ran over and just went berserk, because she thought it was real. She did. How did you guys line that up? We set her up so well, because the day that the prank happened was the day of our big annual charity.
Starting point is 01:44:44 So we were going to have, like, 400 people on our farm, and the gates were open. And that morning, we kept saying, you know, Luke was telling her, hey, there's this crazy girl out there, and she's been stalking me, and she's been threatening Caroline, and I'm worried about her coming here. And I was like, oh, it's going to be fine.
Starting point is 01:45:01 We have security at the gates. So we'd prepped her that there was a crazy girl out there. So Luke set his mom up outside. And then when Chelsea rounded the corner, Luke goes, Mom, that's that girl. And she just, his mom seriously thought this girl. And then when she tackled Luke, it was just, it was just so good. And Chelsea did such a good job.
Starting point is 01:45:26 I mean, she's so amazing. It was just, it was priceless. That's the funniest prank. That's number one on the list I've seen. That's number one. That's number one. In case you guys are wondering what hard-hitting gossip we talk about behind the scenes, Caroline Bryan is here, Amy, and we're talking about how they don't carry the one in math anymore.
Starting point is 01:45:46 What do you mean they don't carry the one? How we were taught as kids, you know, how you can add numbers and you carry the one and then add it. They don't do that anymore. Like, my kids are using these bars. Like, each bar could be 10 or, I don't know. It's awful, awful, awful. And my kids get so mad at me because that's not how I was taught. I didn't know they didn't carry the one.
Starting point is 01:46:10 What's next? Easter bunny, you can tell me Easter bunny? Caroline Bryan is here. Have you had fun so far? Yeah, it's been great. Yeah. Do you cook at all? I will.
Starting point is 01:46:22 I don't enjoy it. I truly don't enjoy cooking, but I will, but I don't enjoy it. What makes you cook? Hungry kids. Okay, so if they want something to eat? Yeah, I mean, and sometimes I'll just do, I mean, we always do homemade chicken and rice. That's like our thing. And so I'll do that, and I'll, I will cook, but it's, I just, Luke loves to cook.
Starting point is 01:46:45 So we have an agreement. He loves to cook. He's great. So I would rather clean, and he can cook. I don't mind that at all. How crazy is your life now? because it seems like, extremely. Like you've managed to stay normal while living in an abnormal world.
Starting point is 01:47:01 Yes, we are extremely normal, but with an abnormal life. Is that something that you try to make sure your kids experience because you experience it, you want them to grow up and actually have some value, some normality, so what do you do in order to kind of prioritize that with them? Well, you know, they don't know any different. Like, they don't, they know that daddy has to leave a lot. and, you know, Daddy sometimes tours on a tour bus. And they know that that's not normal,
Starting point is 01:47:29 but they don't know any other life, so it's their normal. But we're, I'm most strict on manners. I, you know, I tell them all the time, you could come home with a failing grade. But if you're trying, as long as you are a good person with just impeccable manners, I think that will take you further in life. So, but, you know, we've always been super humble
Starting point is 01:47:51 because, I mean, life will do it for you. So you better be humble because it's going to, life will bite you in the butt at some point and bring you back down. You and Luke will be married for how long? 13 years. And what would you tell somebody who's just getting married? Like their new marriage, they're like, what, Caroline, what in the world is the key to being happy? I think just talking.
Starting point is 01:48:12 You have to talk, talk, talk, because small problems can turn into big problems. And we've always been good at talking things out. So that's, I think that's key. Just don't ignore. a problem because it'll be like a snowball effect. Favorite thing about Luke? Oh, I love his laugh. He has the best heart.
Starting point is 01:48:31 He's the funniest person I've ever met. And what is the most annoying thing about Luke? He slurps his coffee. I hate that. Oh my gosh, he does? You guys are both acting like that. What's the problem? What's wrong with that?
Starting point is 01:48:46 It's like this. It's like, yes, I hate that. That's fine. No, that is not. I hate that. Oh wow. That's every morning for the rest of her life.
Starting point is 01:48:56 I have to tell him to stop. And what's funny was, when she was talking about the good things about him, she like took a breath and was like, you know, like, when I said what's the, she, he slurps his coffee. And he knows that. He knows that.
Starting point is 01:49:07 He would say the exact same things. He knows that it drives me nuts. Yes, Bobby Bones. A big moment in Bobby Bones show history about to happen. For years, Amy, lunchbox myself, I've been the only ones to consistently do tell me something good. But now we're bringing him in full time.
Starting point is 01:49:28 He's filled in for lunchbox and now he's going to be part of it. There's and be four of us to do it now. Clap your hands. Your friend in mine, the video producer from South Texas. Producer Eddie, everybody, Eddie. Speech, speech, speech, speech, speech, speech. Wow, wow. I never thought this day would come, but man, I'm so honored to be here and do this.
Starting point is 01:49:44 What, forever? Forever. Let's do this. He's not filling in anymore. You're going to hear his name on the actual big voice guy thing here. Here we go. For the first time ever, officially a tell me something gooder. Here's producer Eddie.
Starting point is 01:49:55 It's time for the good news. With Eddie. Tell me something good. Bobby Floyd, she lost her husband in 2014, and she wanted to do something with foster kids. So she got certified, decided to be a foster mom. She got three siblings. But then found out, it's kind of a lot like my story. She found out that these siblings have three other brothers and sisters.
Starting point is 01:50:18 Then the only way that she can get them all together is by adopting these three, and now hopefully she's trying to adopt the other three and keep the family all at her house. All six of them. Yeah, that is huge. For producer Eddie's story, he and his wife were fostering a baby, and then you found out later that he had a brother. Two days later, they found out he had a half brother staying at home.
Starting point is 01:50:40 So they're like, if you want to keep the baby, you can, but you have to take this half brother. If not, we've got to take the baby back and keep him together. Yeah, so all of a sudden, my family of four became family of six. Isn't it crazy at that time you're like, I don't know, dude? And now you're like, I am so happy. It's the greatest decision ever made. Yes. Yes, for a long time, I was like, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:51:01 I don't even. Even sometimes, like, in the last couple weeks, I'm like, I just can't believe that this is my life. Never saw this coming, but it is, and I'm happy to do it. I remember ready going, I got a baby now? And I was like, it's okay if you're 10 minutes late. That's all I gave them. I was like, you know what? If you have a baby, you can be 10 minutes late.
Starting point is 01:51:20 I'm 40 years old and I have a baby. What are I? All right, there you go. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. Starting point is 01:55:09 tell us about the tattoo Luke has for you. He has a couple. He's probably talking about the one on his butt. He has my initials on his butt, and I've got his initials. And then we both have a ring finger tattooed. What was the butt thing? Like, what, why did y'all do that?
Starting point is 01:55:28 Oh, God. Well, first of all, I'm petrified of a needle. Petrified. After Luke's sister passed, we took a big family trip down to Panama City. And I don't know what we were thinking about seven of us were like, let's just go get a tattoo. Let's just do it. So I go to this tattoo place and I got Luke's initials on my butt. And he couldn't believe I did it because I'm so scared of needles.
Starting point is 01:55:55 Within like six months afterwards, he came home and he pulled his pants down and he had gotten my initials on his butt. I love that. How did Luke propose to you? He blindfolded me, and now we laugh because we're like, why did he do that? He blindfolded me and took me into town to the Parthenon and took me to the top of the steps and he did it there. I don't know why the Parthenon, but it was really sweet. Does he ever sit around the house and like sing songs to you? Or is that so all the time that that kind of stuff?
Starting point is 01:56:25 stays out on the road. Yeah, I mean, he walks around the house singing, but he never, like, serenades me. I mean, he'll play a song for me that he's thinking about cutting and we'll do that, but he never just sits around his things to me. I don't know. My favorite thing about when we do American Idol is when he just starts singing. Like, when he just walks to a piano, because I've been lucky enough to see him do it a bunch of times and know that he is just a pure artist. I think sometimes people just see, like, little clips and are like, oh, he's a guy that dances and sing. But, like, he's a real artist. Like the writing, the singing, the instrument, of it. And when he does that, I think it really highlights him in a great way that people aren't
Starting point is 01:56:59 able to see. And I think when he gets on Idol, like a couple episodes ago, he sat down with the garbage man and he was playing Rascal Flats. And I was like, that's my favorite Luke. But it shows, too, he'll sit down and play piano. But people don't put that on Instagram as much because it's, but that's like the Luke that is the real country artist that, that, you know, I like to see. And that's what he does at home. He'll just sit down and start playing. Does he ever play in the nude? That's the kind of Luke I'd like to see. Oh, oh, oh. No, because he would probably sit down wrong and hurt himself, so no, he didn't do that.
Starting point is 01:57:32 Does everyone do a Luke impression to you? Not many people. Some of my friends do it as a joke, but not many people, no. If you were to close your eyes, let's do an experiment here, close your eyes. Eddie, you will now be Luke, and let's see how well you fare against her. Hey, Caroline. I need toilet paper. Can you run down and get me some toilet paper? I heard that yesterday, actually. I heard those exact words yesterday.
Starting point is 01:58:01 I was trying to do a Luke scenario. Like, what would work? That's exactly. Or he also said, baby, well, you bring me some toenail clippers? He said that yesterday. Yeah. So I hear the toilet paper one all the time. Great. We have a segment that we do called Tell Me Something Good, where we highlight things that are happening positive in the world. And do you have one? Did you bring one with you? Yeah. Okay, so we're going to hit this clip, and I'll point at you when it's time to go.
Starting point is 01:58:26 Okay. Here she is. Let's go. It's time for the good news. Tell me something good. All right, Caroline. Okay, so has anybody heard of the crawlside cat? No.
Starting point is 01:58:38 So there's this crawlside cat in California, and this lady goes in to adopt an animal. When she sees this crawlside cat, let's truly like, it's the most adorable cat. So she adopts this cross side cat, falls. in love with this cat, obviously, and starts an Instagram page. Well, this lady now has like 300,000 followers. So she decided to do merch with the cat's little, cute little cross-eyed face. And so she's now donated all the money to various animal charities and shelters. So she's given thousands of dollars to animals in need.
Starting point is 01:59:13 Check it out. The cat is very cross-eyed, too, and it's awesome. I'm looking at a picture of it now. You love animals. Yes, very much. Big part of what you do. Yes. That's great.
Starting point is 01:59:21 Tell me about the Redbird games because I see that with you guys. What's happening there? So we've had two of these. It happens every October and we sell these big packages for like big companies and we usually have about 300 people there
Starting point is 01:59:37 and we have anything from skeet shooting putting for purses, which is my baby. And then we do a duck race. We have all kinds of stuff and it supports and celebrates the heart babies and families, and we also celebrate families
Starting point is 01:59:54 who have Down syndrome children because my niece Brett was a Down syndrome baby, but that's not what took her life. What took her life was her heart defect. So we're just trying to raise all, just money just to help these families and celebrate these wonderful kids
Starting point is 02:00:11 with Down syndrome and special needs too because they are our heart, just the greatest kids in the world. Well, we've had a wonderful time with you over the last hour. Thank you for having me. I hope you had fun. We love you. Thank you. Yeah. And wait, putting for purses, so it's like a putting green, you put and you have the chance to like win an amazing handbag or something? Yes, we have amazing. Our value in handbags this past year was about $30,000, if not more.
Starting point is 02:00:36 Oh. And everybody gets to putt, one free putt, and then each other put costs $100. So we've just racked up. And then it's pretty good because you can hit a put and go get you a Gucci bag. Nice. Yeah. Quickly, is Caroline planning to do more Instagram pranks? Yes, absolutely. A lot of pressure to keep them going. Yeah, but I have a few things I'm thinking about doing, so we'll see. I like you already thinking about it.
Starting point is 02:01:03 Yeah. Caroline, what's the last concert you attended as a fan? You cannot include one of Luke shows. As a fan. The last one as a fan was Justin Timberlake. That was the less one. Finally, what is Caroline Bryan's favorite thing to do in our free time? Um, free time, honestly, it sounds cheesy, but if, if my whole family gets to hang out, like, with all five kids and Luke, that's the best thing. That's when we're all at better, happiest point. And what will you do today once you leave the show? I've got to go actually running Aaron from my friend. She needs hangers. She just texted me. And then I am, I'm playing tennis for a little while at about 11. And then I have to meet my sister-in-law to talk about some Brett's barn stuff. And then I'll be picking up kids.
Starting point is 02:01:47 And if you want to follow Caroline, share your Instagram with everybody. It is at Lana Brian 3. Lina Brian 3. Everybody says Lena. It's Lina. That's my nickname. Lina Brian 3. We have a parting gift for her.
Starting point is 02:02:00 If we can bring it on in here. Let's bring in Caroline's parting gift because you love pranks. And one of the most famous pranks in American history is from my favorite TV show, The Office. We have a stapler in Jello on a plate. Yes. Oh, my God. That's awesome. Thank you, guys.
Starting point is 02:02:15 I love that show. know what you're going to do with it, but we made it just for you. I'm taking it home. And thank you so much for coming in. Thank you, thank you guys. It's been awesome, get to know you, and that you would come in and spend the morning with us. It means a lot to us. No, thank you guys for having me.
Starting point is 02:02:29 I love this. Tell your husband, we said hello, and all our listeners are loving you on Twitter and text. So Caroline, Brian, there she is. So Garth Brooks posted a photo of himself wearing a football jersey with Sanders on the back of it. He said, hey, Detroit. You carry me all night long. Love you. And he's wearing Sanders on the back.
Starting point is 02:02:53 And the idiots on the internet thought he was endorsing Bernie Sanders. And we're just lighting him up. First of all, if that, it's not. But if that were his person, okay. You don't have to light somebody up for their beliefs. Secondly, it wasn't. It's Barry Sanders. Football player.
Starting point is 02:03:11 The greatest running back in Detroit Lions history. One of the greatest running backs in the NFL history. Yeah. He's wearing his Sanders jersey. And all these goobers. on the internet, just don't be that goober. Anytime you want to get on the internet and write something mean or judgmental, just take three seconds and go one, two, three.
Starting point is 02:03:30 And if you still want to write it, okay, that's on you. But I do believe if we just take a second and go, do I really want to put this? That you won't. I second guess myself a lot now in responding to people, and I'm so glad that I do. Because someone will hit me and say the meanest thing and I'm like, I'll show you son of it. But I go, one, two, three. And most of the time I go, you know what, it's not even worth my time. So two things.
Starting point is 02:03:57 One, it's a Barry Sanders, not a Bernie Sanders jersey. It's also in Detroit. Two, even if you disagree or you want to make a smart aleck remark, just don't. There's no benefit in it. No, you never have changed anyone's mind by sniping at someone on the internet. That's correct. Ever. Right.
Starting point is 02:04:17 No. I don't know that a mind is at. never been changed by the internet. So laughed out loud at that. There's a lot that happened this weekend in the news. Trader Joe died. I saw that. And I posted, I just got to know him.
Starting point is 02:04:29 No, I know. I've been four times now. I know, never stingy on the samples from all I know he was a good dude. The original trader Joe has died. The national supermarket chain founder died Friday at his Pasadena, California home. He was 89. We were going to go by Trader Joe's to get Pop-Tarts to do butter on Pop-Tarts, but they don't make Pop-Tarts. They do all their own brand.
Starting point is 02:04:56 But we did that this weekend. Caitlin was like, we're finally going to do it. We're going to do butter Pop-Tarts. Not something I would normally eat, but we made it a big deal. And we got strawberry. We got the brown sugar ones. We toasted them at like 75%, not burnt, but really toasted. And then she took the butter and salt.
Starting point is 02:05:16 Salted butter. Didn't know there was a difference, but salted butter. And what you do is you don't put it on the top because it falls off. You put it on the bread side. Oh, okay. And that bread tastes so good. It's icing. Pop-tarts are great anyway.
Starting point is 02:05:29 It's like a 60% increase in how flavorful and awesome it is. Really? That's interesting. Butter Pop-Tarts, probably not the healthiest thing. Probably not on the Fit 33 diet. And I laughed and I was like, that's probably not going to make a big difference. Yeah, it does. And then sadly, I saw like a hundred.
Starting point is 02:05:46 100 Instagram comments and stories that were tagging me or they were all going to do it too. One place, the grocery store was sold out of Pop-Tarts because people kept going in because they were watching us on Instagram eat these Pop-Tarts. Oh, that's hilarious. Awesome. So I do review out of five Pop-Tarts, I give it four and a half Pop-Tarts is how good it was. It tastes like Cracker Barrel, like the apple butter on the good bread they have. It's kind of what it tastes like.
Starting point is 02:06:10 Well, now that I know how to properly apply the butter, it makes more sense. I might need to try it. A lot of people were judging me too. Like, how did you not know about this stupid? I'd never know about that. I'm like, you said Barry Sanders was Bernie's and her stupid. So, yeah, that was a thing. There's a mom who went viral for making her kids do push-ups as punishment.
Starting point is 02:06:31 Which I thought of all the punishments. That's that was pretty good. Yeah, what's wrong with that? Like push-ups and go do 20 push-ups or go read a book. Those are good punishments. You physically or... Yeah. Go do something that you don't normally want to do.
Starting point is 02:06:44 Like, what kid wants to do. push-ups. Mom of two Molly Wooden took her kids to Hobby Lobby. And when she was in there, she noticed another mom giving a 10-year-old, a 10-year-old giving her mom attitude. And the mom was like, all right, push-ups, 10, go. I mean, the public thing throws me a little bit, but there's nothing wrong with push-ups. Well, the internet was mad about this, too.
Starting point is 02:07:05 What about, but in public, let me say this. I don't have kids, but if you don't punish them in a timely manner, do they lose, the reason they kind of were punished. Yeah, and I think it's a bummer for parents because it does interrupt what you're doing, but you have to stop, like go to the car, which I guess with push-ups, that wouldn't work, but maybe find an alternate thing
Starting point is 02:07:30 or take something away immediately or let them know this is going to be the punishment immediately or take them to the bathroom if it's private in there to go over whatever you need to go over because I'm just not into public shaming. I feel like there's something to that. Like some kids might be able to handle it, but like my daughter, if she's called out in front of people, it's a way worse deal to her. Like she'll shut down.
Starting point is 02:07:54 And it's like she does need to be corrected. But if I do it when we're other, it's like an embarrassment that's not, that shouldn't be part of her punishment. Like I don't want her to feel that. That's something I feel like later in life as adults, you can come back. I'm like, my parents used to shame me in front of people. And so I try to do everything in private. So. What about your son?
Starting point is 02:08:13 Is he different? I still just try to do it in private out of respect to him. But I don't notice him shut down as much. But like she's older and I'll see her. Like if I correct her, like we even had friends over and she got corrected. And it's like her, she was in the best mood and her demeanor, but she kind of did something. It was saying something she shouldn't.
Starting point is 02:08:30 And she got corrected. And I think it would have been better if him like, hey, you know, let's talk about that later or come in my room and let's talk real quick instead of doing it in front of guests. I think I needed it in public. Yeah. Oh, wow. Yeah. I'm not a football coach just to make us do pushups during a game.
Starting point is 02:08:46 Wow, that's embarrassing. Yeah. He's like, oh yeah? You didn't do that stupid penalty? Push-ups on the sideline in front of everybody. It's embarrassing. But embarrassment was good for me. I was like, all right, I'll learn from this.
Starting point is 02:08:57 I don't want to be embarrassed again. But did you ever get spanked or anything in public by your grandma or your mom in public? Oh, wow. I just like, I don't want that to happen again. That was embarrassing. Yeah. So it wasn't good. But for me, that was, well, I don't want that to happen again.
Starting point is 02:09:09 So I'm going to not get in trouble. So, yeah, but it was never a deal. I'm embarrassed myself every day in public. See, that's what I've turned it to. I'm fine. We're just embarrassing myself every day out here. I do want to mention the coronavirus. By the way, we've been experts before anybody was experts.
Starting point is 02:09:23 Just so we know. I'm like someone who claims an artist once they get big. Like, I knew Colplay when they were playing clubs. I was talking about coronavirus and it was just starting. You were, though. And so they're starting to now go, we're going to have to shut things down if it gets worse. We don't want groups of people to gather.
Starting point is 02:09:41 I was reading a story about the NCAA tournament. They're like, if it gets worse, we may have to play the games with no crowd. That's crazy. The Olympics, we may have to have the events with nobody there, where they've spent five or six billion dollars. They've built things. So this isn't some conspiracy. This isn't some hoax.
Starting point is 02:10:01 Now, it's not to the point where they have to do that, but if they don't plan for that and it happens, then you're kind of caught with your pee-pee in your hands. Yeah, no, that's true. And people, and like, they're not, they're saying, don't go to Italy because it's spread and people are dying there. South Korea, we had two deaths now in the States, both of them believe in Washington State, and now there are people that have it that don't know how they got it, meaning they didn't travel. It's not to the point to where we're going, wow, it's all over the place. And here's the difference. If someone goes, what about the flu?
Starting point is 02:10:29 This is more deadly than the flu per each person that gets it, and they really don't know how to combat this. So what's scary about it is, we don't know. That's what's scary. It could go away tomorrow. Like all of a sudden the temperature hits 75 and it's like, well, they're with the coronavirus, but it's that we don't know where it's going. I watched a hole and Eddie was making fun of me. I watched this guy, this Korean guy, give me a full dissertation on droplets and how the coronavirus is like a doctor. He was speaking in front of their government.
Starting point is 02:11:00 Droplets. I made fun of you because you watched it multiple times. It's almost like you didn't want to miss a single detail. I did go back over a few times. I'm a germy, weird guy anyway. You want to tell him why I did yesterday? the festival? Sure. You're giving everyone what's it called, DAPs? Well,
Starting point is 02:11:13 it's not that, but it was like, hey, we did three meet and greets and I requested, like, the Beyonce that I am, I was like, hey, I don't want to touch people's hands, honestly. It's Corona a little bit, but mostly this gives me a reason. I give everybody daps, even side hugs. I'm all for that.
Starting point is 02:11:31 The inside of people's hands are, I've never been fun to me, so I just didn't want to do it. And everybody was awesome about it yesterday. They were cool about it. We probably met 150 people. Yep. And everybody was. was like, great. Side hugs and daps all day long.
Starting point is 02:11:42 It's weird that we shake hands in a culture anyway. The grossest thing that we can have on us, we're touching with the other person's grossest thing. And we rub them together. Like, great to see you. Let me put them in our mouths. Yeah. Touch our eyes with them.
Starting point is 02:11:54 So, but the second person in the U.S. died of coronavirus. The surgeon general is telling people stop buying face masks because it's not helping, but what it's doing is it's hurting our medical staff that's trying to take care of people. So the surgeon general, Over the weekend said, guys, America, stop buying all the masks up because it won't help against the spread of coronavirus. But it will take away important resources from health care professionals.
Starting point is 02:12:20 Quote, seriously, people, stop buying masks. The Surgeon General Droman Adam said in a tweet. Hey, Scoobie, can you get the Surgeon General on our show? He can basically book anyone, which is one of the great things about Scoobo Steve, our new executive producer. I'll do my best through some research and I'll get them off for you. I've met him before. We have, okay. I don't know if you would know who I am.
Starting point is 02:12:42 But Jerome M. Adams, the Surgeon General, I would love to talk to him. We have millions of people to listen to our show. I think we can give some good tips here. We totally could I agree. Let's do it. I only know like 68% of what I'm talking about anyway. Yeah, okay. Just hear stuff and say it.
Starting point is 02:12:56 But I did watch that Korean doctor talk over and over again. Droplets and such. And then I watched it. I watched it and just tried to, and then I watched it and watched it with the Subtitle. titles too. Even though he was speaking in English, I was like, I don't want to miss anything because he has accent. All right. So, okay. But right now, here's the truth of it. You don't, it, no reason to freak out right now. But if it does get worse, they're just precautioning it because they don't, they know what the flu's going to do.
Starting point is 02:13:28 They know, we've had it for years and years and years and years. They know. They just don't know what Corona is going to do. And I saw where Corona the beer down 46%. I told you guys, people will be so dumb. Why did people do that? It's a beer. It has nothing to do with it. It's so not even related. That's terrible, actually, for that company. But it just happens.
Starting point is 02:13:47 Like, I used to drink Herpies milk, and I stopped once I found out that it was a brand. It just was. Yeah, herpes milk was never going to last. Yeah, they're no longer in business. It didn't work. We're going to play What's That Racket? Or as we say, we're going to play, what's that racket? So we started at five.
Starting point is 02:14:07 And we play a sound And we see if you can name the sound It was inspired by a lot of my Radio show friends who have like a thousand dollars To give away to their listeners if they get a secret sound We don't So I had five bucks in my wallet And so and every time I misses it it goes up a dollar
Starting point is 02:14:23 And $8 is what it's up for now And let's go to Brittany in Texas Who's on the phone is going to play the game Hey Brittany, how are you today? Hey, I'm good, hurry off We're pretty good Would you like to play? What's that racket?
Starting point is 02:14:37 Please. Okay. Listen closely. Here is the sound. You're trying to name what the sound is. Okay, so that is the sound from a viral video. Can you name what's making all that racket? Brittany, for $8.
Starting point is 02:14:58 Is it a woman sneezing? Is it a woman sneezing? I'm sorry. It's not a woman sneezing. Dang. Okay. Thank you. $8, she won't be getting.
Starting point is 02:15:11 But tomorrow, it'll be $9. Wow, wow, wow. We're going to have to play this game 900 times to be equal to some of my friends. What's That Rackett? Raymond, do you play one more time for those listening at home? Nice. As we play, What's That Racket? Play basketball over the weekend.
Starting point is 02:15:37 Caitlin and I went to the Y and played. Played one-on-one. She's a really good basketball player. She's good, huh? Yeah, she's annoyingly good to the point where I have to guard her outside. Mostly you like people take outside shots. She hit three threes in a row, and I was like, all right. So I just guard her as hard as I can.
Starting point is 02:15:51 And then we played three on three, and she was the only girl playing. So it was five dudes and one girl. And so, yeah, she goes pretty hard. She's a better athlete than I'm bigger and stronger than she is because I'm taller than six foot. But she's a better athlete than I am. Yeah, she said that towards you, she said she remains loving towards you. And she's like, yeah, you're my boyfriend. Like, I'm just playing basketball with you.
Starting point is 02:16:14 Not true. This is what she said. Not true. Go ahead. That she can remain that with you, but that you instantly, the, minute you'll get on the court, you can't even look at her. No, no, it's competition. She gets super competitive and like she just...
Starting point is 02:16:28 She's the same way. Don't fall for that. She's just another person on the court. She's the same way. We go, we play hard against each other. At one point, she had the ball down low and I hit the ball and she goes, foul. That wasn't a foul? You touch your hand?
Starting point is 02:16:44 No, I just thought the ball. No foul. She goes, okay, she goes, if that wasn't a foul, fine. You can have the ball. I said, okay, give me the ball. She goes, no. And then she walks it back out and then drains a three. So no, don't fall for that She's super competitive
Starting point is 02:16:54 We did go to lunch though Me, her, Amy Amy's husband And our friend Mary Went to a Mexican restaurant I was proud of myself I had the grilled chicken And a little bit
Starting point is 02:17:03 Saladty lettuce-y stuff I knew I was having a buttered pop tart That night Right before we sat down Like we are sitting at this round table And Bobby's like Hey guys I heard this place has carbs
Starting point is 02:17:14 Mexican food dude I was kind of funny I know I laughed at loud Like it, I was like, yeah, you don't have to eat the tortilla. And I love tortillas. But I knew we were having butter pop tarts that night. I finished love is blind.
Starting point is 02:17:29 I'm so jealous. I'm about halfway. And it's so good. The reunion is Friday. I got it. Okay. Well, then I needed to be caught up by Friday. And it's so, it's so bad sometimes that it's so good.
Starting point is 02:17:42 No spoilers. No. So what they do, what I figured out is they pitched all these people. They're all from Atlanta, by the way. They all live in Atlanta. Thank you. I was like, wait, why are they all? Okay, that makes sense.
Starting point is 02:17:52 And they pitch them going, hey, this is a science experiment more than a reality show. And so they put all these people, half guys, half girls, and they just date each other in pods without seeing each other. And then it follows them
Starting point is 02:18:03 through, if they, some of them get engaged in the pods, some of them say, I love you. And they haven't even seen the person's face. And then they see each other for the first time. That's crazy. Then they go on like a pre-honeymoon.
Starting point is 02:18:15 They go meet the parents. Then they go to the altar. The crazy thing is... Oh, I don't know that part yet. Well, there's no spoiler here. I know you're not spoiling, but I'm just excited for it. You go to the altar and you have to say, I do or I don't. Oh.
Starting point is 02:18:29 Oh, and that's when they're finding out? Oh, man. Hmm. I kind of wonder if there's going to be like a plot twist with some of the people. Just watch. Keep watching. Okay. I don't think I want to watch it without Caitlin saying, hey, let's watch Love is Blind. But we watched all of it.
Starting point is 02:18:44 We've binge watched it over the weekend. It's good for that. It's a good couples show. I think so, but it was bringing up a lot of questions with us. Oh. It was like things that they were talking about. We were like, great, now we got to talk about this. I didn't think about that.
Starting point is 02:18:56 But I think it was a great couple show. Sure. Why you did it? Well, my husband was, it was torture for him. But he powered through, you know. I mean, me and Mary, our friend, she was way, we were way more into it. My husband was like, oh, my gosh. Now you know what it's like when I watch football.
Starting point is 02:19:09 This is what it's like. Well, we enjoyed it, though. I liked it. She loved it. I really liked it. My dad liked it. Oh, yeah? He wants to start this at his assisted living home.
Starting point is 02:19:18 pod dating at the old folks home? Yeah. Nice. He says, he's like at our age, it looks don't matter anyway. He's like, Martha, is that you? Hey, Morgan, do you watch it yet? No, I haven't started watching it. Oh, you have to start, though.
Starting point is 02:19:33 Well, it starts off you're just thinking it's going to be a pod dating show. And it's only like two and a half episodes where they're in the pods. And like the other seven and a half are them seeing if they can stay together. And then I'm like, these people are watching it. They're watching back right now. it's probably similar to the Bachelor and Bachelorette, maybe how do you act, and like you're in this scenario
Starting point is 02:19:54 and you're probably going a little bit crazy, and then it's on camera forever. Like some people that are on those types of shows, is it hard for them to get a boyfriend after all that? Because if that person's seen how they've acted, maybe like a stable boyfriend or girlfriend. Maybe not somebody who just want somebody famous. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 02:20:12 I mean, because I have moments like that, but it's not on tape, you know? Like, nobody's going to know. So it's fine. Until now. The Bobby Bone Show. You missed a lot if you missed today's show. That's the bad news.
Starting point is 02:20:25 The good news is you can go back and listen to it today. It goes up on the podcast in like an hour or so. So search Bobby Bone Show on Demand, on IHart Radio, or wherever you listen to your podcast. Morgan No. 2 said we have five today. At number five. Abby Anderson called in and talked about how her boyfriend is inspiring her recent songs. At number four. We drafted 90s TV shows.
Starting point is 02:20:50 And you can go and look at each person's team at bobbybones.com and vote for the ones that you like. Number three. In your mailbag, we talked about the best practices for tipping on-to-go orders. Number two. Ray Mundo wants to take his engagement photos at someone on the show's house. And finally at number one. Luke Bryan's wife, Caroline, was our guest host today, and she told us the one thing he does that she hates. And Amy also was like, I hate that too.
Starting point is 02:21:17 And I were like, how is this something that people even, right? Oh, yeah, no. Not hate, but think about it's not even a big deal. It's all up on the podcast. Amy, what's going on today? Today I have, Kelsey Ballerini is going to be on my podcast this week. So I have a recording with her and then we're doing some stuff because International Women's Day is this weekend. Okay, she didn't know.
Starting point is 02:21:37 So that, what about you? Well, I have two friends in town. Yeah? Well, one girlfriend and one really good friend. So Caitlin was going to leave and head back to California today, but she's going to stand and go to the Opry with me tomorrow. And also, we're going to play basketball. Yeah. So me, Ahmad, who's my friend, Eddie and Caitlin,
Starting point is 02:21:53 are going to play two on two today. Ooh, nice. That was the real thing to get them to stay. And then they're both going to stand and go to the Opry on Tuesday night. Basketball was the first. Do y'all need an alternate? Okay, fine. I'm busy.
Starting point is 02:22:08 And then also Chris Kirkpatrick, who was a guest host for us on the show, is going to actually do the Bobbycast. We're really going to dig into the Insync stuff. So we record a bobbycast there tonight. So, yeah, that's the deal. Thank you very much. I did get a draft suggestion. Someone said a song suggestion for the draft.
Starting point is 02:22:25 Songs that give you the chills. That's interesting. Oh, yeah. Because when I was a kid, you know what gave me the chills? Don't take the girl. Oh, okay. Chills in a good way. I was thinking bad.
Starting point is 02:22:35 Or bad. It doesn't matter. Chills can just happen. But like, don't take the girl. And also. Tears in heaven. Cowboys don't cry. Cow girls don't cry.
Starting point is 02:22:43 Cow girls don't cry. And then she finds out it's her dad talking to her. Good stuff. Oh. So, yeah, thank you guys. Appreciate you. We'll see you on Tuesday's show. Robert Deaton, television producer of award shows like CMA Fest and the Billboard Music Awards will be in tomorrow. So that'll be fun too. All right. See you guys in. Bye. Fight.
