Starting point is 00:02:08 And I asked that because there's a guy who's working on an ATM. The thing shuts on them, and he's trapped inside the ATM. And so people will come up, and he passes out through the receipt hole notes. They're like, help me! How crazy. You're trying to get cash, and then you're like, what? And they're screaming at people. So where have you been trapped?
Starting point is 00:02:26 Hey, Timmy! What's happening, buddy? and I was going on. Tell me where you were trapped. Well, I was working on my car. I was like 18, and it was like 12 years ago. And I was working on my car, and I had it jacked up. And where I had it jacked up, it was real soft.
Starting point is 00:02:44 And the jack fell. And the car come down and pinned me under the car. Oh. And I couldn't. I was in the dirt. It wasn't a concrete or asphalt, but I couldn't get my shoulders around to, like, dig out from under myself. so I could get out because my shoulders were pinned back. But my cousin came by, and she jacked the car up,
Starting point is 00:03:06 and I was able to get out from under it. It was about two hours. Dude, you're lucky you're not dead. Yeah. Wow. Demi. That's crazy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:15 Yes, sir. Do you ever dream about that? Because that's a traumatic experience. Yes, sir. Yeah. Ooh, man. Jerry Clower, you say, who...
Starting point is 00:03:27 Once at work, I got trapped in the storage closet where all the prizes are for two hours. I went in and the door shut and I couldn't get out and the doors were really thick wood and I was banging nobody could hear me. It's the back of the building. And luckily I get to work hours early
Starting point is 00:03:41 and finally when everybody else showed up they were like where's Bobby? And I was like, Help me! And finally someone was like, what's that noise? It was me. Stuck in the equipment closet.
Starting point is 00:03:52 Yeah, I was stuck in there with all the free CDs and coosies. It was like prize galore. All right. Amy, where were you trapped? In an elevator. Yeah. When I was coming to work once.
Starting point is 00:04:03 But I got out. I wasn't like trapped forever. No one had to rescue me. But I did have to press the button and like it calls someone. Remember I brought in audio? That's a thing. It's almost like calling 911 even if you need it. It still feels weird.
Starting point is 00:04:15 Yeah, because you're in the elevator and then they're like, hello? And it was so, it was on my way to work. And it was so early in the morning. I feel like it had been transferred to someone who was working from home. Like you know how calls get transferred to maybe someone that's at home. And they're like, hello. I'm like, I'm trapped in an elevator. They're like, Kenneth, why are you calling you this hour?
Starting point is 00:04:32 They're like, no, no, no, it's not Kenneth. It's Damien and I'm an elevator. Yes, help me. Okay, hey, Brittany. Hey, good morning, guys. Talking about getting trapped. What do you think? Yeah, so my husband and I moved into a new apartment complex that has a gated parking deck.
Starting point is 00:04:48 So I drive into the parking deck and my husband's outside bringing in groceries and I parked my car on the eighth floor and I get out and I cannot find the exit anywhere. like to get out of the parking deck or to get into the apartment, I can't find any doors anywhere. So I'm walking up and down and I look out over and I see my husband walking on the sidewalk. So I yell out to him, can you help me? I'm stuck in this parking deck and he just looks up and starts laughing. He doesn't even try and help me for at least 15 minutes. And how did you get out?
Starting point is 00:05:23 He finally found the door, but I was just stuck walking up and down this parking deck, trying to find an exit and I couldn't get out. That Seinfeld episode where they can't find the car. They're just walking. Hey, thank you, Brittany. I appreciate you for calling. We appreciate you. Yeah, thank you very much.
Starting point is 00:05:40 Brittany and Richmond, Virginia. Let me do another one. Hey, Lauren and Iowa City. And Lauren, let me tell you about Iowa. I love it. I went to Iowa. I only been one time. That's one of my favorite places.
Starting point is 00:05:50 I love it. It was amazing. Anyway, enough about me. How about you? So I got stuck in a walk-in freezer at work at Kinnick Stadium, the football stadium in the Iowa City. I was catering there. We were doing catering for the suites upstairs, and I went down to go get something from
Starting point is 00:06:12 the freezer, and it steals. It's like that Brady Bunch episode where they get stuck in the meat locker, the freezer. So wait, did you worry you were going to die? Yeah, you know that like flight or you know, fight thing I definitely like went into like I'm gonna, this is it
Starting point is 00:06:33 like I'm gonna die here I kind of just like gave up it had been kind of a while and I had my phone but my boss upstairs wasn't answering so I just assumed that this was how I was gonna go You couldn't call anybody else? Yeah, like in retrospect
Starting point is 00:06:48 I could have called anybody in the world That's my thought was Okay, the Boston, Nancy I call anybody. I just hit numbers. Maybe the elevator guy from Amy's elevator answered. Kenneth, what? No, no, no. I'm trapped in the ice machine. Thank you for your call. Hey, Lauren, appreciate you. Appreciate you. All right. Somebody left this note on my desk. The benefits of being single during the holidays.
Starting point is 00:07:14 The person did not leave their name. As one of you folks, it's fine. Number one, you can decide and decorate any way you want. which means no decorations in my house. In the past, she's decorated. This year, number two,
Starting point is 00:07:35 you have fewer gifts to buy. True. I do like buying gifts, though. Like, I like really putting in the effort. But yeah, okay. Number three, you can do exactly what you want. I mean, I do that anyway.
Starting point is 00:07:50 Right. Let's do that. So far not a lot of benefits here. Everyone's in a celebratory mood, so there are tons of parties and activities to go to. Okay. Yeah, I'm not really an activity person. And then it's a great time to meet people. Oh, that's true.
Starting point is 00:08:09 That's cool. A lot of people are off work and are out and about with tons of free time. Go spark up conversation. See, I'm not much into sparking up conversation. But, yeah, whoever left me that note, I appreciate that. I know you're looking out for me. Science is spoken as to why we love McDonald's French fries. I think McDonald's has the best French fries.
Starting point is 00:08:33 Do tell us. What are they doing? What are they putting in there? Beef flavoring. They're coated in beef flavoring. That makes them activate your umami taste buds. Those umami taste buds. Oh, umami.
Starting point is 00:08:45 Those and your salt taste buds working together are what hooks you. By the way, that means the fries aren't vegan-friendly. I was just about to say, are vegans thinking they're just like eating some potatoes and salt and they're not? And beef flavor comes from milk. Did you know that, not from beef? No, I didn't know for sure if it came from beef, but yeah, milk would make it not vegan. So there's a science as to why those are so good.
Starting point is 00:09:07 Okay, you don't have to pick them. I pick McDonald's fries and have for years. My favorite french fries. Best French fries that exists, Amy. Well, I think your answer is solid. I'm going to go with a Chick-fil-A waffle fry. That's a good one. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:19 I do enjoy a good waffle fry. I just can't do it. I'm stumbling because I just can't see how anyone would not pick McDonald's. Well, hey, you do you. I know. Lunchbox? I'm going to have to say Bobby's the smartest man in the room on this one. It's McDonald's fries.
Starting point is 00:09:34 Could you imagine if McDonald's took their formula and made it into a waffle? I would never want them to do that. Why I messed up a greatness. I'm saying. I like Waterburger's fries. They're good. But the fact that Waterburger, if it depends on where you are regionally, like in Texas and in South Wales, you have water burgers. They have the ketchup that are in the hard packs.
Starting point is 00:09:51 The fancy. The ketchup makes that fry amazing. Best hamburger period Who is it? Amy Chain You're asking a wrong person Come on you're eating meat again I was talking to her friend the other day
Starting point is 00:10:02 And she was like I was with Amy And Amy was ordering meat And it was so weird Yeah Best hamburger I will go with McDonald's So you really haven't
Starting point is 00:10:13 Had many hamburgers I really have From chains Honestly I really haven't Lunchbox I would say Waterburger But they're not
Starting point is 00:10:21 National Yeah it's a chain though It's a chain I'd chain it up. Okay. Man, I used to get, when I was a kid, quarter pounder with cheese, especially when it would come with a free VHS tape if you got the meal pack. A VHS?
Starting point is 00:10:32 Yeah, I got dirty rotten scounders on VHS. I don't know what, my mom and I would go there all the time. We'd order whatever combo you had to order to get the VHS tape for free. Wow, they would give you like VCR tapes. That's, I'm telling you. And I remember the day we got dirty rotten scounders on VHS, and we were like, this is amazing. I'm going to say this one, and I still think it's overrated, but it's still the best.
Starting point is 00:10:54 If that's possible. I think the best hamburger is in and out. Oh, I don't know. I've never had a burger from that. I think the whole in-and-out experience is a bit overrated because everybody just talks that it's the greatest thing ever. And I don't think it's the greatest thing ever, but I think it's the best hamburger.
Starting point is 00:11:07 Okay. The only thing I've had from there was when I went with y'all and I got the veggie burger, which doesn't exist. They basically gave me buns with a piece of cheese and some lettuce. Yeah, they're being funny. And they're like, here you go. Here you're a veggie burger. Robby Bones Show
Starting point is 00:11:25 Bonehead Norrie of the day This story comes to us from Auburn, California. Two men went into a gas station and said, give me all the money, took some money, stole some candy and drove away. Police responded, found them a mile and a half away from the gas station. Their car ran out of gas.
Starting point is 00:11:43 So dumb. So dumb. And they had a bunch of stolen purses and stuff. They'd been breaking into cars in the area, so they got busted for a lot more than just robbing the gas station. So dumb. All right. Thank you, Lunchbox.

Starting point is 00:14:53 Luther Younger is 98 years old, lives in Rochester, New York. He walks six miles a day to see his wife in the hospital. Aw. He says, I ain't nothing without my wife. It's been a rough pull. Luther, a Korean war veteran, has been married to his wife Waverly for 50 years. Their daughters take care of their aging parents. She says, hey, listen, I can drive him.
Starting point is 00:15:21 He doesn't want to wait for me to get home from work. So he just walks. And he walks six miles a day at 98 years old this year. A GoFundMe page has been created for the couple to raise money for medical expenses and rides to and from the hospital. It's raised $33,000. Wow. That's awesome. It's awesome that he's 98 and it's still like in love.
Starting point is 00:15:38 Getting us steps in. Oh, okay. Oh, yeah, that too different things. There you have it. That's Tell Me Something Good. That was Tell Me Something Good. The Bobby Bones. Bobby Bowler show.
Starting point is 00:15:49 So you get an Uber and he's texting and driving? Yes. So you know how Uber drivers have to have. their phone up on the dash for the map or whatever. Well, he has like some extra phone that he like had down below and he was like, I guess having a conversation with someone. He's trying to sneak him in because obviously he doesn't want me to see that he's texting, but I can see that he's doing it while he's driving.
Starting point is 00:16:08 And I'm like, rude. This is my life in your hands. So one star, no tip. Boom. You know what? I agree. Yeah, I know. I don't ever hand out one star, but I just thought that was completely unprofessional
Starting point is 00:16:21 because I'm sure it's not part of his employee. And it's not safe. He's putting, again, we have to say this 100 times in a row. They will test people out drinking and driving and texting and driving. And the people that text and drive fare worse than drinking and driving. He's driving you around and risking your life. If you're doing to other people? Yeah, and like that's his job.
Starting point is 00:16:39 Amy was trying to be sneaky about it. Do you say anything to him? No, I'm not that cool. That's what I was going to say. Amy, we busted her on her phone texting and driving. So for her to give one star and no tip without even saying anything, maybe say something and he quits. If he doesn't, then. but you were a little harsh on the one star.
Starting point is 00:16:55 But I'm not driving someone around for my job. And I shouldn't be texting and driving. So one star for me. No tip. Yeah. I would do it to myself. That stinks. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:04 And I agree with you all the way around and all that. Yeah. But Lunchbox doesn't. He thinks you should Uber and quit, right? No, I said just say something and quit. Oh, okay. There you go. Quit Ubering about it.
Starting point is 00:17:18 Thomas and Delaware. Good morning. Good morning. What's up, dude? Is this Bobby? Yeah, this is Thomas? Yeah, this is Thomas from Clarksville living in Delaware. And I'm getting ready to, I'm actually an hour and a half early from my job interview, doing some notes and stuff.
Starting point is 00:17:38 Love that. Love that you're early. So you're a little nervous? You sound like a little nervous. Yeah, of course. I'm a little nervous. This is a game changer for the family and myself. So nervous and a good way.
Starting point is 00:17:50 I put myself in a good position to get this interview. so I'm ready to knock it out the part. I just wanted some of that little music, motivational music that you always play for your listeners. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Remember this. Let me hit you for some motivational words first.
Starting point is 00:18:03 Remember, you're nervous because it means something. It means something because you worked hard to get it. Now, the key to impressing someone when you're talking to them is your alert rate is up, but your heart rate is down. Okay? So what I've found is that you play the song, Seven Nation Army by the White. drives. And this song comes on. And you're like, all right. And it's pumping you up. You're like,
Starting point is 00:18:27 I can do this. I can do this. But your heart stays solid, solid, solid. That's your heartbeat right there. That's your heartbeat right there. Your mind up, your heart down. You're thinking. You're thinking at a high level. But you're not acting crazy. So I take a second. I just play this song. I just play Seven Nation Army. Listen to the whole song. All right, I will. Yeah. Take deep breaths.
Starting point is 00:18:58 Know that you are in this spot. And even if you don't get this one, there'll be another one. There'll be three more. There'll be seven more because you're not going to stop until you get it. You know, it's hard to beat somebody who doesn't quit. Are you going to quit, Thomas? Never. That's what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 00:19:15 You can't beat somebody who don't quit. Are you going to quit, Thomas? Never. Never! All right, knock them dead, dude. You get an hour and 25 minutes. But still, in an hour or 25 minutes, knock them dead. Remember, alert up, heart down.
Starting point is 00:19:31 Got it? Alert up, heart down. That's right. Keep the heart rate down. All right, buddy, good luck. Let us know how it goes. Hey, I appreciate you. I appreciate you.
Starting point is 00:19:41 Dang. I'm on to something there with that alert. That's really not the idea. That's not the words exactly. I've been working on the phrasing. But the heart rate down is the thing. Yes. It's like mind frame up, heart frame, something.
Starting point is 00:19:54 I'm not quite there yet. Yeah. I'm tinkering with it. You got time. That's how you know this in the scripted show. Because that wasn't not good. Like the idea was good. You'll get there.
Starting point is 00:20:01 But the words weren't exactly there. Talk it out. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Everything I said, though, I stand behind. I think. Yeah, yeah. I'll go listen back. Get your bones on.
Starting point is 00:20:11 The Bobby Bones show. It's a Bobby Bones show. Lunchbox's calling a hotel saying he's a social media influencer and he wants a free hotel room because he's going to give him a, Shout out. Yeah. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:20:27 Listen, I am a celebrity that travels the world. I am worldwide famous 200,000 followers on Instagram. So I'm trying to barter for a free hotel room. I'll post a picture on my Instagram and that way my listeners will be like, wow, I need to stay there when they come up there. All right. We don't have that here, sir. No, no. We don't have free rooms here.
Starting point is 00:20:46 No, no. I post a picture on Instagram. That's what us celebrities and social media influencers. do. No, you'd have to pay for the room, sir. How many pictures do I have to take for a free room? I'll put it on Twitter, too, where I have to... You have a great day, sir. You have a great day. All right. Didn't look too good for them. Well, a couple things. One, you have to learn how to say influencer.
Starting point is 00:21:05 Yeah. And then two, don't say your listeners because you're not selling a radio show. Yeah, I'm not used to that. I'm... But I messed up. Okay. Influencer. No, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Record? He was recording? Are you recording this voice? Gordon? Keep that. I help you.
Starting point is 00:21:24 Uh, yeah, social media influencer here. 200,000 followers on Instagram. I go to locations like your golf club, and I will post pictures of me out there playing and saying like, oh, come look at this beautiful course. In exchange, you give me free golf. Oh, that's probably not going to happen. Picture me a hole 18 sinking a birdie putt, and they'll be like, wow, we got to go there. And then that's going to get people to join our golf club?
Starting point is 00:21:49 Absolutely, ma'am. That's what I do. I put things on... Thanks anyway. I don't want to buy that. I don't think they get the concept. Really? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:00 Yeah, I think I'm talking to older people. They don't get it. But he explained that if he takes a picture on the 18th hole, that people will come. Good morning. I'm happy. Yes, man. How are you doing today? My name is Lunchbox.
Starting point is 00:22:13 I'm going to be in New York in about a month. And I am just trying to say I'm a social media influencer. And I post pictures on Instagram. And so I'm wondering if I can get a. a free breakfast so my 200,000 followers will come to your establishment? I cannot do that, sir. If I can guarantee 200 people would come in your establishment, can I have a free breakfast? I cannot do this, sir.
Starting point is 00:22:34 Okay, so when I come, I want the fried chicken and waffles and the smoked salmon eggs Benedict. That is so awesome. I really appreciate you working with me, man. Excuse me? I did not say it was good to go, sir. All right. Thank you. Okay.
Starting point is 00:22:46 I did not say it was good to go, sir. Hello? You Gordon? Roll on this, boys. It does seem easy when people write stories about it. I know. They're like, yeah, social media influencers. Most of them aren't anything.
Starting point is 00:23:00 I mean, I see some people that I follow, and I see them staying at these hotel. The hotel one, for example, I see them staying hotels. People I know, and I see them tag. And then also, I'm like, are they getting a hook up here that I'm not realizing? Because then there would be a card, like, sitting on the nightstand welcoming that person to the hotel. They probably wrote it themselves to look cool. It's time for the good news. In Rhode Island, a silver alert was issued for a 76-year-old man.
Starting point is 00:23:30 That's when an older person goes missing. He has dementia. They couldn't find him. So this officer, he's on his off day. He grabs his canine, goes looking, finds him in the woods. Oh, wow. Yeah, the dog picked up the scent, found the 76-year-old man all on his day off. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:23:45 Yeah, how about that? That was Tell Me Something Good. Starting point is 00:26:57 in herself over there it's now time for the morning corny which she's built up in the room here we go the morning corny how did DEA agents start all of their jokes How do D-E-A agents start all of their jokes?
Starting point is 00:27:14 Nark-nark. That's very funny. I know. That was the morning corny. That's very funny. It makes me. Bobby bones. Bobby bones.
Starting point is 00:27:30 He thinks happier. Parents are people that don't have kids? Man, it can be a toss-up. I've been both. You've been happier with that and happier with? I mean, I feel like I felt both feelings in the last. year or two. So I feel like it could be a toss-up.
Starting point is 00:27:46 People without kids, you always think you want kids, great, and then you get the kids, and you're like, whoa, this is a little of their level. Well, life is a constant grass is greener. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Life is just battling the grass is greener because everything you do, you want the other thing. And I think that's where, like, regardless of kids or this story, like I think that's where genuine happiness comes from is when you can finally go the
Starting point is 00:28:06 grass isn't greener for whatever reason. Because even if you have the best situation, there's always something where you're like, oh, what if I did this? Like that's always going to happen. And I think that's where real happiness comes from when you stop doing that. But science says that non-parents are happier than parents. Really? Okay, because I was going to say, having said that and lived both, my kids bring so much joy and randomness my life that we would have never had that I would choose having them.
Starting point is 00:28:32 I would hope you would say that. Well, Eddie has kids. What do you think? Yeah, like grasses greener aside, I think that people without kids are probably happier. Because you think about like Oh, you're having a bad day or whatever And then you go home It's like, oh, God, go the kids
Starting point is 00:28:46 But if you're single, you're like, Well, let me go out with the friends And we'll make it all better, you know But like sometimes you go home and the house is a wreck And the kids are yelling And you're like, this is my life This is it? So yeah, I'm going with no kids
Starting point is 00:28:59 Wow, okay Listen, I don't have Not that I change anything in my life I don't have kids but I often go Because I just sit at home I don't call my friends and go out Yeah, you should When I get down
Starting point is 00:29:09 I just take a nap And you listen to sad music. I don't listen to that music all the time anyway. I don't even like upbeat songs for the most part. If it's got some sort of tempo to it, I'm just like, meh. What do I need it? I've been listening to a lot of, like, old school, like Aretha Franklin. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:24 Like the really slow, just depressing stuff. Why? Are you good? I don't know. I think so. I think I'm good. You don't know? I'm not bad.
Starting point is 00:29:35 Unless I've always been bad and don't know that I'm good. But here's the thing. You've always liked that kind of music. It's my whole life. I don't think fast. Right. Just give me the slowest, saddest songs you can give me. Like, that's my jam.
Starting point is 00:29:46 That's why I like. I love ballads. You do. Just rip their heart out. Rit my heart out. You do. And most people, like, they're sad. They listen to sad music to get sad.
Starting point is 00:29:56 You just listen to sad music all the time. If you look at my, like, just pulling up my I-Hart radio streaming playlist. You want to hear the last songs I have up here? Yeah. Oh, boy. Well, I don't know. I'm just going to read them straight up. Because I have, I read the Franklin, do right woman.
Starting point is 00:30:09 And this is the last one that I've heard. See ya, California Dreaming. Have you heard her version of that? No, that's not sad, though, is it? It's slow, sure. Do you want to hear it? Yeah. If I play this, will it play on my Alexa at home?
Starting point is 00:30:20 No. No, no. Right now? No, I mean, it's connected. I wonder if it'll play. Here, this is California Dreaming from Sia. Off your laptop. Yeah, off my laptop.
Starting point is 00:30:30 Pretty slow. It is, but that sounds cool. Oh, it's super cool. Here you go. I said it home and listen to that. Oh, my gosh. Like, if I'm... What?
Starting point is 00:30:43 I would just be in a depressed state if all this is what I'll listen to. Do you turn all your lights on and at the house? No. Off. All the time. Dark house. Dark in my bedroom with this music. And then I have this one.
Starting point is 00:30:54 This is Chet Faker. No diggedy. That's like a slower version of the bike street. You take all these upbeat jams and make it. Navigita. Yeah, I do that. Lark and Poe, Jillian Jacqueline. Yeah, it's all slow, man.
Starting point is 00:31:09 Looking to all of it. Mr. Sandman. Oh, that's the one you dance to. Yeah. jam. Yeah, I'm a slow music listener. When that comes on, does that automatically take you to dancing and triggers and I don't like it?
Starting point is 00:31:21 Because I have dancing as D. Yeah. Yeah. Because it's just a constant pressure. Yeah, what are we talking about? Being happy with kids. Happiness. Happiness. And then you don't have kids, but then you're just dark and... I don't think I'm dark.
Starting point is 00:31:37 No, no, I mean, physically your house is dark and then... Oh, yeah. Sad music. Some of my lights, they break. I don't even fix them. I'm like, who needs them? Bobby bones. So Lunchbox called businesses yesterday and said, hey, I can't come in. I'm sick. They doesn't work there.
Starting point is 00:31:58 So what's the first place? Like what kind of place is it? Just a restaurant. Like a sit-down restaurant or a fast food restaurant? I sit down. Okay, here he is. Calling into a restaurant said, I can't come into work today. Except he doesn't work there.
Starting point is 00:32:11 How can I help you? Oh, yeah. Who's this? This is Jason. How are you doing? Hi, I'm good. This is... Hey, girl.
Starting point is 00:32:17 You sound constipated. No, no, I'm sick. I'm sick. Yeah, yeah. It's being at 3 o'clock, and I'm just, I'm not, I'm feeling under the weather. I don't think I'm going to be able to make it. Okay, and I'm sorry, what was your name again? Jason, Jason Gible, yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:29 Oh, okay. I came down with something this morning. I don't know, and I'm supposed to work 3 to 11. I just can't make it. Are you, are you a cook? No, no, I do the, I'm the waiter. He stumbles. I'm the gate, no, get that.
Starting point is 00:32:43 I don't know what they're called. It's in the waiter, yeah. I didn't know anybody. He, he, he stumbles. was a server by that name. Yeah, but I was just hoping you could cover my shift or, you know, get Alyssa to cover my shift. Wrong place. I'm hearing a lot of names that I don't recognize.
Starting point is 00:33:04 No, I said if you could get Melissa to cover my shift. No, you said Alyssa. You said Alyssa, not Melissa. Shift. Oh, wow. She does not have time for you anymore. Wow. She didn't even, like, mess around.
Starting point is 00:33:19 You want to hear him cough? And I'm sorry, what was your name again? Jason, Jason Gible, yeah. Oh, okay. It's like you broke a rib. Like you're coughing with a broken rib. Yeah. That's funny.

Starting point is 00:36:31 Bobby bones. So lunchbox calls places he doesn't work and tells him he's sick. Here we go. Call two is what? Another restaurant. Sit down or a fast food. Sit down.
Starting point is 00:36:44 Okay. Oh yeah, this is Jason. I'm supposed to be in at three and I just don't think I can make it. I'm sick. Supposed to be in at three? What do you do here, sir? I'm a server.
Starting point is 00:37:01 I wait tables. Um, he waits tables. You know, I do a little bit of this, a little bit of that, you know, like, yeah. Uh, uh, uh, we, we don't have a Jason here, sir. Yeah, yes, ma'am. I'm supposed to work three to 11, though. I'm just, I don't want to leave you short-handed, but do you think you can cover? What restaurant? What restaurant are you calling?
Starting point is 00:37:20 I'm calling. No, you don't work here, sir. Yes, ma'am, ma'am. No. I, am I getting fired? Have a good day. I'm getting fire for being sick. Oh, wow
Starting point is 00:37:30 Got fired It's funny you knew what a server was that call Like one call later He knows what he does exactly Here we go What's number three? Another sit-down restaurant Thanks for calling
Starting point is 00:37:42 So may I serve you This is Jason You know, I work later today And boy's dying now Yeah It went from him It was quick It went from him not feeling great
Starting point is 00:37:52 To he's struggling now He may not make it through this call Thanks for calling So may I serve you This is Jason and, you know, I work later today, and I'm just, I'm under the weather. I woke up, and I just don't think I'm going to be able to make it. Jake?
Starting point is 00:38:10 No, Jason is. I don't have anyone who worked here by the name of Jason. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm new, but. I'm the manager. I would know if there's a Jason that worked here. No, no, I've done two shifts. I mean, I got him paycheck on the 15th.
Starting point is 00:38:25 And your name is Jason? Yeah, well, that's my nickname. Yeah, Chase, my real name's Chase, but you guys call me Jason. Oh, now you've pivoted. Okay. And like, right now, like, I'm on the toilet and I'm hukin and trash can right now. Okay. And what job do you perform here?
Starting point is 00:38:43 I'm a server, but sometimes I cook too. I mean, I'm a... Wow. He does everything. He does everything. I never did both. I never served and cooked. No.
Starting point is 00:38:51 No. No. No. You know, like when the order's ready, I'll grab it and take it out for people. Oh, okay. Yeah, I know exactly who you are. Thanks for calling. Yeah, thank you.
Starting point is 00:39:01 I shouldn't know you were. I guess they gave you the day off, huh? Yeah, at least I don't get fired. True. You are on the toilet and peeping into a bucket. It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good.
Starting point is 00:39:22 A library in Missouri has turned an old newspaper dispenser into something much more useful. It's filled with school supplies, non-perishable food, and personal care items that are free for anyone in need to take. And they're calling it the kindness cupboard. And, yeah, it's painted really bright, happy colors. And people can just go walk up to it. Whatever they need, they can grab it. That's good. Lunchbox, how would you feel with that?
Starting point is 00:39:48 Man, I can get some free stuff. What if you didn't need it, though? I mean, you can always use something. There's always something you could use. I love it because there are people that really need. If we do have someone that takes advantage of it a little bit like Lunchbox, that's okay. But Lunchbox is adult enough to know he shouldn't be doing it. Like, one of my neighbors has one of these.
Starting point is 00:40:07 old newspaper dispensers. And this is exactly what they use it for. And sometimes my kids think they can go in and grab a snack. Your neighbor has one? Yes. I'll swing by. Okay, great. I mean, but kids, they can learn. But lunchbox, you know better. Hey, I do love that. Yeah. I love your honesty lunchbox. What can I say?
Starting point is 00:40:26 Thank you. What can I say? That was Tell Me Something Good. The Bobby Bones Show, Bobby Bones. One more had to refund somebody who bought an iPad, but when they got home and they opened the box the box is full of flour Wow You know how people still stuff and then replace the boxes
Starting point is 00:40:43 That's great Yeah Walmart refunded the money She said she bought an iPad And then what she got in there It's full of flour Can you imagine you get home Being so excited? Because I know it's like
Starting point is 00:40:54 You know you open that box I'm like oh my goodness it's time And then you probably go They're not going to believe me Yeah there's no way Like there you go There's no way they're going to believe me And so she says
Starting point is 00:41:04 It looks like someone cut in the the packaging and Walmart I gave with the $400 bucks and they say if this happens to you as a general let them know immediately okay because don't doubt don't think they're going to doubt you just go for it just go for it yeah that one person
Starting point is 00:41:20 remember not so long ago though bought that big old vacuum from Target and they opened it up and it was like trash and oh yeah it was all just garbage yeah garbage like just filled with stuff so someone's going into the store and stealing it and then replacing it are they taking it home and bringing it back I think they're taking it home, filling it up or taking it to their cart, filling it up, and then taping it back up and returning it, right?
Starting point is 00:41:39 I would say you steal it at the store. I would, too, because I would think when you bring it back in the box and look inside of it. Yeah, when I worked at the store, you would always look in the box when someone returns something. How do you walk out with a vacuum? How do you steal anything? People are good. Okay. There was a baby that weighs 62 pounds, right?
Starting point is 00:41:54 It's 10 months old. Oh, wow. It's a 62-pound baby. That's a big baby. It's a right. And they can't stop the baby from getting fatter. Whoa. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:42:02 And so doctors are like, they don't know why he continues to put on weight. Has he been exposed to mold toxins? No, stop with this mold toxins. I'm serious. It's a thing. I watch a documentary. At birth, he weighed 7.7 pounds. At two months of age, he weighed 22 pounds.
Starting point is 00:42:19 That's a big jump. Is it? Because I don't know much about it. Yes. It's a huge jump. Like, my son's seven. He doesn't even weigh that. 20 weight you like 22 pounds?
Starting point is 00:42:28 Sure he does. Oh, I hope he doesn't. Oh, yeah, he does. For sure. Then over the next eight months. he gained a staggering 39 pounds. So at 10 months all they weigh he weighs 62 pounds. I wonder what that is.
Starting point is 00:42:37 That is crazy. They're trading them for like some sort of childhood diabetes. Wow. Now? But I don't know. Like when a baby's, how big were your babies, Eddie? Born at one was seven, five or something. And the other one was almost eight.
Starting point is 00:42:52 So they were around, they're high sevens. And normal is that? Yeah, pretty normal. Do you see the guy, he went into a liquor store and he was like, give me all your money. and the person working the counter took a bottle of Bayleys and busted it over their head. No, man. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:08 I was at the register here and I was counting it down and a guy walked in, he had on hat and sunglasses, and he said, give me the money. I didn't think much of it and I kept counting the money down and he came closer and he came at the register and he was like, no, give it to me. He was pulling on the register that way and she was pulling on it this way. and I just grabbed a bottle of Bailey's Pumpkin Spice, and I looked at Sarah, and she just said, hit him, so I hit him over the head with it,
Starting point is 00:43:37 and he just stopped, and he backed up, and he turned around and walked out the door. Oh, I wouldn't be afraid to hit him again, though. Wow. It sounded like a plug. Yeah, there's a good job by Sarah. I got Bailey's Pumpkin Spice. Oh, like $7.99.

Starting point is 00:46:38 So I went to a stop sign and kind of rolled a little bit too ahead of the stop sign. I stopped fully. I was obeying the law. But I was ahead of the stop sign and the white marks that would cause if anyone was crossing the street to have to go around me a little bit. And there was a person jogging. And he was really irritated that I was a little bit ahead of the line. and...
Starting point is 00:46:59 So he had to run and then run around the car, then get back into the line. Yeah, but you know what I do when cars are at stop signs and I'm trying to cross? I just go ahead and go behind them.
Starting point is 00:47:07 So it's like not a thing. It's not a thing. That's what I do. And it's not like I did it on purpose. And it's not like I knew he was about to jog up there
Starting point is 00:47:15 because he was moving fast. He wasn't there when I got there but then boom, there he was. And he had to go around me, gave me the death look through my windshield. And I was like, I even looked at him like, I'm so sorry.
Starting point is 00:47:26 Like that. Then I'm watching him. And as he, passes me, he stops on his run, turns all the way back around while running and flits me off. Wow. Nothing wrong with that. Wow. That's really aggressive.
Starting point is 00:47:41 It was like a, it was like a, he wasn't like flip off. Yes. He pulsed his hand at you. It was like brer, like I'm not seeing it. And he just looked at me like I ruined this guy's day because of this one thing. Like it was so much that that I wanted to roll down my window once I turned. right because then I could pull up beside him while he's jogging
Starting point is 00:48:02 I was going to roll down and be like Are you having a bad day? That seems like a lot to flip someone off over Yeah Because you have to go around the car just a little bit I just want to be like I hope Whatever is going on with you Like you just feel better
Starting point is 00:48:15 I am so sorry if I contributed to your bad day But I mean obviously I didn't But I was tempted because Homeboy it was rude I've done it before when I'm out running And someone rolls through the stop sign like that Not rolls through she stopped No, no, but you are putting their life at risk because you're not paying attention to stopping before the stop sign.
Starting point is 00:48:33 I've hit the hook. The life at risk, he's already stopped when he runs up to her. I, no. I didn't roll into him running. I was already there. He was annoyed he had to go around. She was stopped. No one's life was at risk.
Starting point is 00:48:43 I've banged on the hood of cars before, giving him the bird, cursed at him. And the reason he doesn't go behind you is because if he goes behind you, there could be cars coming the other direction. He doesn't see them. And you need to go in front of the car. It's easier to see cars coming from the other. I can see cars. I can see cars when I go. It had to be a small part of the neighborhood.
Starting point is 00:49:01 Yeah. I was not. I was not in a busy area. Y'all, it was quiet. There was nobody else around. Listen, if a skinny dude like lunchbox flips off another dude, you'd probably get beat up. If it's like a man, like it also has a short temper or a gun, all it takes is you to get irritated. Like me, I'm not.
Starting point is 00:49:19 I'm just going to be like, sorry. Yeah. But like if it's a big dude, they'll whoop lunchbox. I should have just yelled out. Have you ever heard of Grace? I didn't mean to do it. You didn't do it. anything wrong that he hasn't done either. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:29 I've never flipped anybody off of my life, I don't think. Me either. Oh my goodness, guys. Careful with that. Not as far as, like as a joke maybe years ago. But never like in my car, do I flip someone? It just doesn't happen with me. Oh, I've been flipped up a lot. What's because you can't drive? Especially, I mean, and all
Starting point is 00:49:45 over, I got flipped off a lot in Houston. That was probably a rough summer for me. My mom was there in D. Anderson and I, we lived there for six weeks and I didn't know where I was going. That's where I know some of the most hardcore drivers are. I won't classify them as rude people, but I just feel like in Houston,
Starting point is 00:50:01 they got places to be, and if you don't know where you're going and you're messing up their drive, they will flip you off. Do you say flip off or flick off? You say flip off. Lunchbox flip them off. Does anyone say flick on the show? No. I think I probably have. Flip. Yeah, like, y'all taught me a long time ago, I think, to start saying flip. Well, it's like
Starting point is 00:50:19 Coke and soda. You know, it's like where you're from. Regionally is wherever you're from. Get your bones on. Get your bobby, bono. All right, worst advice you ever got. Let's go to Nikki in Massachusetts. Hey, Nikki.
Starting point is 00:50:34 Hello. Hey, share with me the advice you got and you look at it now and go, that was wrong. Expect the worst and you'll never be disappointed. It's such a pessimistic way of thinking. It is very pessimistic, yes. And I don't expect the worst, but I also don't expect the best. I just put my best effort out and then I just see where the chips fall. But you expect the worst you're going to get the worst, really.
Starting point is 00:50:56 because we're very much built on our expectations. If you don't think you're going to, if you don't believe in you, nobody else will. You know what I mean? Yep. Nikki, who told you that? I'm going to see they get fired today. Give me their number.
Starting point is 00:51:06 It was my uncle. All right, let me talk. Let me get that uncle. Well, you don't live by that, right? No. All right, that's good. Yeah, I don't like that one very much. That's so pessimistic.
Starting point is 00:51:16 Amy, what's yours? Mine was, don't have a big airport welcome party when you bring your adopted kids home from another country. Like, because it could be overwhelming and while it was like good advice probably for them, but I heard it from multiple people, they adamantly thought you should not do it. I read it in books.
Starting point is 00:51:34 I saw it online. I heard it in podcasts. And we had it anyway. And it was the most amazing day ever. My kids loved it. So Amy's adopted two children. And I mean, you have set this up a little bit
Starting point is 00:51:44 for people that have no idea what you're talking about. Okay. Well, yes, we adopted two kids from Haiti and they're older. And so they have a lot going on and it can be, you know, oversimulating, a lot, you know,
Starting point is 00:51:54 happening if you have this huge, airport greeting. And I think you just have to take it, know your kids, especially if they're a little bit older and you've gotten to know them and know your circumstances and then make the best decision for your family instead of just like taking the advice of people that were pretty adamant about it. I had heard both things, but I think I heard more so not to have the party and the big airport welcome. And we did and y'all were all there and it was amazing and awesome and I do not regret it. Worst advice you've ever received? Lunchbox. Oh, my dad in my 20s. Don't worry about saving money now.
Starting point is 00:52:27 You're young. You've got plenty of time to start saving. Well, should have started saving. Your dad told you to not worry about saving money at all. He said, you're young. Right now, you don't need to worry about savings. You don't need to have a fallback because you're so young. You have time to build that later.
Starting point is 00:52:43 And so you just spent like crazy? So I just spent like crazy. Do you blame him now for being broke? Yeah, because he set me up for failure way back when because I was just out having fun and not thinking about, oh, in 10 years, if I have a kid or something, I should have fallback money. No, dad, I'm not young anymore. And so when do I start?
Starting point is 00:53:02 Have you started? Trying. But no? I mean, it's hard. It is hard. And if it was easy, everybody would be doing it. And everybody would have huge accounts. And once you get in the habit, it's hard to go the reverse way.
Starting point is 00:53:16 You mean once you're in the habit of spending, spending spending, spending, spending. It's hard to be like, ooh, I'm not going to spend, I'm not going to spend. So shout out pops The worst advice I ever received When I was first doing morning radio Uh oh I was probably like 22 or 23
Starting point is 00:53:31 And I think this goes for just about Any sort of job or profession I had another morning guest sent me down And say I want to give you some advice I said what's that I said you should really just try to lay low all the time Just try to keep your job and lay low Don't ruffle any feathers
Starting point is 00:53:44 And I was like okay I'm just gonna lay low How long did you listen to that About four days Yeah But I look back and I go that was the worst advice I could have got. Because you're never going to be
Starting point is 00:53:56 you're never going to be great or fantastic at something if you're just doing the status quo. You're never going to be dynamic if you're just doing what everybody else does. Now there's risk involved and you could actually also kind of peter out. But had I listened to him, there's no way I would be here. I'd still be chilling. Probably nothing.
Starting point is 00:54:15 I'd probably be cut by now. But my advice to everybody else is if you want to be different and you want to be dynamic, You have to actually ruffle some feathers at times. You got to pick your crazies. Pick your crazies. So that's my advice. Eddie?
Starting point is 00:54:30 Mine's kind of like lunchboxes. My dad once told me, if you ain't got debt, you ain't living. And wow. Like now, like my goal of 2019 is to get rid of all my debt I've had in my entire life because of that advice. It's like, Dad, come on. Yeah, it's crazy they would tell you that. But is he was serious? He's joking.
Starting point is 00:54:50 He just meant. Like, don't like... Did he mean like mortgage? No, he meant like, don't, you know, stress yourself out over debt. Like, if you ain't got debt, you ain't living. Like, live your life and then you take care of your debt later. Woo! Here I am.
Starting point is 00:55:02 Take care of my debt later and it's rough. Yeah. Yeah, I was never that way. And no one ever gave me money advice. I have no idea, right, what to do with money. Grow up super poor. So I never had that talk with anyone. So no one said, hey, this is what you should do if you ever make money. So I've always been scared to go into debt.
Starting point is 00:55:17 So I don't have any debt. So smart. So it's been like, I don't buy it unless I can pay for it. God, that sounds like such a good life. But I never had anything for a long time. Like, there was, I never had a credit card to buy cool stuff. I took out one loan, one time of college for $1,000.
Starting point is 00:55:34 And I bought clothes and a PlayStation. And then I paid it back like three weeks later. And wasn't it supposed to be a student loan? Yeah. Well, I didn't need it for a student loan. I need a close for work. Oh, I guess you could use it forever, whatever you wanted. I didn't know how it worked.
Starting point is 00:55:45 I need to close for like work events. So I went and bought clothes with it. It's kind of an investment even. Sure. Yeah. And then a little PlayStation for you. A little bit more me. Just a little something.
Starting point is 00:55:54 Jamie and Virginia, worst advice you ever got. Oh, they tell me at work all the time to under promise and overperform. And I just think that that sets your bar
Starting point is 00:56:05 so low right off the bat. My advice would be to normal promise and then overperform. Right. I mean, I'm going to tell you what I can do for you
Starting point is 00:56:14 and I want to perform. You know, I want you to be proud of me. So why would I, yeah. I think kind of the basis of that is always surprise people with the extra that you're doing. You know, I think the under promise is a little misleading, but it's really like, say what you're going to do and then always do more than that.
Starting point is 00:56:34 You know what I mean? Right. Yeah, what do you do for living? I'm a banker. Interesting. Do you ever get to go in the vault? I get to go in the vault all the time, yeah, and I have a secret code that only I know, and it's full of money, you know, all those things you see on TV.
Starting point is 00:56:50 So the vault is full of money? Yes. And is it like a pharmacy where they have every dollar accounting for, where they have every pill accounted for? I mean, not in terms of like serial numbers or anything, but, you know, yes, we count every dollar every day to make per it's all there. How much is in your vault? You know, it varies.
Starting point is 00:57:11 It depends on how busy you are. So if you wanted 10 bucks, is there any way you could skim $10 without someone noticing? Just $10? No way. There's cameras everywhere, and that would be dishonest. That would be my job. You couldn't throw some of those poppers and fireworks over in the corner and the camera looks over there and then you grab 10 bucks. Like a little handwritten I owe you for tomorrow when I get it back. Yeah, it doesn't work like that. Well, thank you for the call. Appreciate you sharing that with us. Hope you have a good morning. For everything you guys do. You too. All right. See you later.
Starting point is 00:57:42 So Eddie, I'd like to say Mary Save Ms. to everyone. Yeah, you're pronouncing it wrong. Oh. Save my. Oh, who saved a lot? As in like save more in Spanish. Oh. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He wants to tell our listeners how to save money. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:57:55 So Dave Ramsey has his ways of saving money or whatever, and I've tried all of his techniques, and I feel like I have a couple better ones. Okay, here's Eddie telling you how to save money for Christmas presents here in the holiday. And it's nothing crazy, and you've probably heard of it before, but I'm telling you it works. This weekend, last weekend, I bought a Christmas treat, and I used the price comparison technique where I got another store that had the same tree and found a lower price. And I bought the tree and I said, but this store has it for $35. You're trying to sell it to me for $50.
Starting point is 00:58:25 And they fell for it. I got the tree for $35. How cool is that? I've never done that before. And it totally worked. And the lady goes, you got us. And I was like, yes, Merry Christmas. And I was like, yeah, that's good.
Starting point is 00:58:39 Yeah, save moss. Yeah, save moss. And then another one that always works is I tell him, I order whatever. I say, do you have a coupon for that? Because the days of going to the newspaper, cutting out coupons, those are no more. Now you go and you tell them right there, do you have a coupon for this or any promo deals? Wow.
Starting point is 00:58:57 Guys, I'm telling you, like four times out of five, they say, actually we do. And they pull it out and scan it? They don't even pull it out. They just say, yeah, it's 25% off this. If you ask for it. If you ask for it, I'm telling you, and that is how you save Moss. Merry Christmas. We get it.
Starting point is 00:59:13 Got it. If I'm working at a store, if I'm working at a store, And you do the thing to me where you're like, this is the thing at the store, it's this price. Yeah, yeah. Like this other store has it for this much. Then go to the other store. That's what I say. I totally thought they were going to say that.
Starting point is 00:59:26 But they didn't. They did it. They said, you got us. You win, sir. You win. We'll lower the price for you. Wow. There you go.

Starting point is 01:04:54 Name this one. Name the baseline by the song. Got it. Trying to sing it. Is that loud? Hey, see you louder. Is it? Yeah, it's hard because it's not like the main melody of the song.
Starting point is 01:05:33 But if, she's on it. I mean, she's on it. Sing it. No, don't, Amy. Well, hold on. No, because I don't know it, so I need you to sing it. Anything? No, another than what's in my head right now.
