And we've had some incredible guests so far. And now our good friend, Nile Horn, is joining the show. How's it going, boys? Hey, Niall.
Starting point is 00:01:30 It's the same thing with Slow Hands. Slow Hands is not about anything else, really, is it? You know, or taste so good can't be about food. I'm Javier El Chichariot Hernandez and live. to learning to be human on iHard radio, Apple Podcasts, or whatever you get your podcast. The Best Bits of the Week with Morgan. Part one. Behind the scenes with a member of the show. What's up, everybody?
Starting point is 00:02:29 Happy Weekend. Lunchbox is joining the star of Price is Right from this week. Thank you for taking the time to join us, Lunchbox. You're welcome, and once again, you miss an opportunity to say, come on down. Like, you didn't say it, but that's okay. That's It feels too iconic for me to just blatantly say it. No, you should have said, oh, you know who our guest is.
Starting point is 00:02:51 We're going to tell him to come on down or something, you know, something. You could have, you know, easily done that. But instead, you just went with the boring old, hey, man, this guy was on prices right. And he's here on a Saturday. And that's what I'm doing. Again, but it's so special. Come on down. It's a special moment.
Starting point is 00:03:07 If you would have heard that all the time, it would not be the same as the moment where you did actually come on down. You're right. And what's still crazy is, I see. still never heard come on down because you didn't hear. I didn't hear it in the thing. I didn't hear my name called. It was bananas. It was so loud that I still don't remember them calling my name. Okay. So you don't remember them calling your name to come on down. But do you remember when you got it right and you heard things or it was still loud then too? Like when you got to come on down to Drew Carey. Oh, when I got to go up there
Starting point is 00:03:37 and all the contestants row, I didn't, I'll be honest, I didn't remember what I bid. And I didn't know what everybody else bid. So when he says the actual retail price is, and he tells you, I'm like, I don't know who won. So that's why he looked a little lost. Like, oh, oh, wait, that's me. Yeah. And then it starts dinging. Your little thing starts dinging.
Starting point is 00:03:56 And that's how you know. Because there's no way I kept up with those other people's bids. Like, I was just like, all right, uh, did I win? Yeah. And you were just so hype the whole time. Listen. And people, I love it. I mean, that is so.
Starting point is 00:04:11 I didn't realize when I watched it back, like this first, you know, actually I lived it and then I watched it, right? I did not realize that I jumped up and down that much. You were like a jumping bean, honestly. I don't think I've ever even seen you jump to that extent out of excitement. That's what I'm saying. I didn't even remember that I jumped that much. Like I had no recollection of jumping that much.
Starting point is 00:04:34 I knew that I was like, oh my gosh, like this is crazy and I was moving my body around. But the jumping, don't know where that came from, didn't realize I did it. And I do not remember. I have no recollection of my girl Marilyn grabbing my hand and telling me to calm down. I had no recollection of that. I don't remember that happening ever. That was never part of the thing. So do you feel like you blacked out a little bit throughout the whole process?
Starting point is 00:05:01 Maybe a little bit. Yeah. Like you knew it happened and then watching it back is when it kind of reminded you of what happened. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. You definitely blacked out a little bit. Yeah. What?
Starting point is 00:05:11 Do you think that was from adrenaline? Because it wasn't from, you weren't nervous. I wasn't nervous. It was straight adrenaline. Just like pumping through your veins. I was nervous because I was, I was nervous like when we got in the studio and we sat in when they put you in your seat, I was like, man, what if they don't call me? What if they don't call me?
Starting point is 00:05:29 That's when I was nervous. But I was like, they got to call me. But then I was like, man, I'm right here. Like, I can see the little dingers. Like, get me up there. Like, come on. And Marilyn sat right in front of me. And she was on a row where there's a little.
Starting point is 00:05:44 only two people. Yeah. And then I was a row of three people, me. And then it was a mom and daughter that were there for a birthday trip from Northern California. They had driven down. I just met them as we, after I sat down, they came and sat by me. And I was like, huh, this is weird.
Starting point is 00:05:58 I don't know them. And the girl that I was with all day that I met in the parking lot, the blonde from Dallas, she was, she was on a momcation because she was divorced. And it was, her husband had taken her son. somewhere so she's like you know what I'm going to go on a vacation for myself and so she came to California she visiting friends and she came to the prices right and on Sundays she works at Cowboy Stadium and she is a bartender in the suite a suite on the 50 yard line and so we had walked up together and so people thought we were a couple that's funny and I was like no I don't know
Starting point is 00:06:36 that girl like I don't know and so we talked all day and she was in the group and everything but when we went into the stage, like to go sit, she was in front of me and they walked up and they said, what's your name? She tells them. And they look on their little iPad, okay, you're going to sit over, go see Barbara over there. And so she went on the opposite side of me and I went and saw Samantha on the right side. So I thought that was interesting. I was like, why wouldn't they?
Starting point is 00:07:01 Well, did she get called up? No. That's how. They were separating you guys from the beginning. But why separate is even if she's not getting called up. We were together all day. It felt like we would have sat next to each other. but I understand they have to put people in different spots so people get called from every section
Starting point is 00:07:16 so everybody can be excited and the camera can pan and all that. So that was an interesting little tidbit. I was just like, huh, I wonder why they didn't want me to sit next to her or they have their reasons. You know, maybe they wanted me next to a, you know, a younger person or an older person. I don't know. Yeah, splitting you guys all up in different ways. Yes. It is interesting if you, if the Valentine's Day plot would have been truthful in what you were telling us that like you needed a partner, you did have one.
Starting point is 00:07:45 You technically did find somebody. I did. But it was on a different day. I know. So what did you do? Okay, hold on. How did you even decide that this was going to be a secret and you were going to do what you were going to do? Like at what moment did you have that thought?
Starting point is 00:08:03 The moment after the taping ended, I was just like. I'm not telling anybody. I'm not going to tell a soul. Was that because obviously you weren't allowed to. There is an NDA you have to sign. Yes, but I could have told you guys off air. Like, no problem. Yeah, I was just telling on air would have been the problem.
Starting point is 00:08:20 Yeah, I want it. Really, it was more of a, it was also a, man, I'm going to shove it in a lot of people's faces. Because I knew a lot of the listeners would call them and be like, oh, you're such a loser. Of course they wouldn't want you. You're such a bum. Why would the game show pick you? You suck. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:08:35 Did that ever happen? It did happen. Okay. It did. I'm sorry. Everything's been a blur. Yeah, you know why? Karma, because you're not a good person.
Starting point is 00:08:42 Well, I wanted it to them. I wanted everybody to pile on. And then to feel so stupid when March 31st came around and your boy was on the freaking show. I think, listen, at one point I think I said, I think you're capable of it. When we were discussing if it was a possibility, like I knew you were capable of it. I just didn't know if it actually like logistically would have happened that way. Right.
Starting point is 00:09:08 But then also I was thinking back to the cruise. I was like, we were hanging out the whole cruise. How did you not tell me the entire time on the cruise? I didn't tell anybody. My brother and sister didn't even know. I know, but like we were together so much on the cruise. That's right. And you know what's funny?
Starting point is 00:09:21 I'm surprised you didn't slip up even in some short way or form. You know what's funny is Ray and I, we do the Soul Losers podcast. Never slipped up with him. Never. And we were in that, when we're in that room and we talked before the podcast or after the podcast or never never not even a mention okay so why well why did you want it to be a seeer besides the listeners i know the shock the shock of it happening like if you know then it's already like okay you know what i mean like it's not as you don't anticipate it as much if you
Starting point is 00:09:50 are in the unknown you don't know what's going to happen that's when the anticipation builds and you're just like what what what if you knew you'd be like i already knew that was going to happen Yeah, that's true. It's all about the shock and anticipation. You just really wanted that value. Heck yeah, I wanted that moment. I wanted the icing on the top. It was fantastic.
Starting point is 00:10:13 So are you like just on a high from now? Everybody knows that you can talk about it? Oh, I'm on a high. On a high. Because you obviously did news stories. I did news. I did. I mean, I've done a lot of press tour.
Starting point is 00:10:28 And what's funny is like my friend Andrea that I went to college with. I had taken a station visit down to San Antonio, and I had like two hours before my plane left, and I was just like, she didn't know I was in San Antonio, and I was like, hey, you work from home, right? And she's like, yeah, and I was like, all right, I'll be right there. And I went to her house. And she's like, what are you doing? And then we talked about Price is Right. And I was like, yeah, man, I didn't get on.
Starting point is 00:10:52 You know, I just sucked. And so then I texted her the night before. I was like, hey, tomorrow, you know, you can look for me on the Price's Right in the crowd. And she goes, but you didn't get up, right? This is the same one you told me about? And I was like, yeah. And she goes, I'm not watching. So did she text you after?
Starting point is 00:11:06 No, she didn't watch. So she still doesn't know. She still doesn't know. It is hard. Unless you listen to the show and we've talked about it. Yeah. Or you just watch prices right as a normal viewer. Correct.
Starting point is 00:11:17 Yeah, you'd have no idea. And I told her, I said, well, at least your husband Earl wants to see my face. And she's like, oh my gosh, the lies you tell yourself. That's funny. Yeah. So she didn't see it. Did your phone blow up after the episode? or after it was on social.
Starting point is 00:11:33 It blew up. Like people like, oh my God. You lied to us. You sneaky little, oh my gosh. Like, why didn't you tell me? Like, you could at least just said like, wink, wink, I didn't get on. Like your friends, people in your life. And I'm like, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:11:47 What about your wife and kids? Oh, they knew. I assume they knew. But like your kids knew. Yeah. And they were keeping that secret that whole time. They didn't understand it. They don't know what's going on.
Starting point is 00:11:57 They don't really get it. Yeah. Now, I will say that one of the dads, at the watch party, he came up to me and he goes, man, because my son, my oldest son is seven, he goes, my kid told me that you made it to the end. And I said, oh, did he win? And he goes, oh, I didn't ask that. So I guess my son had been telling some of his friends at school about the watch party.
Starting point is 00:12:21 Like, oh, my dad makes it to the end. And he told him, I win some shiny shoes. Wait, but he didn't even say anything up until the watch party was happening. Because it was out of their mind by then. Like, you know what I mean? It comes and goes. Like, they, I told them about the experience. And then they didn't understand.
Starting point is 00:12:37 They didn't get it because it was never on TV. But then when we started planning the watch party, they're like, what? And I was like, remember when I went to California and I did this thing? And they're like, oh, yeah, you're going to be on that TV show. And so I think they started telling everybody. And they have a running club at school. And I went to pick up my boy, my oldest one, Baby Box 1. And the running coach was like, so I hear you.
Starting point is 00:12:59 your own prices right. I'm like, I don't think he goes, I mean, that's what a bunch of seven and eight-year-olds are saying, so I don't know if I should believe them. So how did you manage that? Were you just like that? But that was the day it aired. Oh, so you're like, ah. I was like, yeah, that's the rumor, man.
Starting point is 00:13:12 That's the rumor that I was on there this morning, you know. That's so funny. Yeah, I lied to everybody. People on the cruise cornering me. People at Coaches Convention for the Sour Losers Nation cornering me. I mean, it was crazy. Lying to everybody. How many times did you almost give it up?
Starting point is 00:13:28 Never. Never. Just really committed to the bit. Never. That's impressive. Like there wasn't a moment in time that I was going to be like, oh, you know what, all right, guys, I want to come clean. Heck no. Because every time we talked about it, my tummy was smiling like, oh, these fools and I have no idea.
Starting point is 00:13:45 You're just holding on to it. I was hold on to it. It was great. It was so fun to lie to everybody. Do you feel like this is potentially your greatest bit you've ever done? Oh, man. Oh, that's tough. because back in Austin before we were here, I ran a marathon without training.
Starting point is 00:14:03 Yeah. On four days notice, that's pretty freaking unbelievable. Like, I, like, that is like heart, soul, spirit. Like, that is, I don't know. That is perseverance. That's tough. So I think the marathon might be, might be bigger. Okay.
Starting point is 00:14:22 I want to debate this. We're going to come back. And I want you to kind of rank where Price is Right might fall. and maybe your top five bits of all time. Oh, it's one or two no matter what. I know, but let's talk about it. We'll talk it out, okay? We'll take a break.
Starting point is 00:14:34 We'll take a break. We'll be our back. Pride is like love. You feel it in your heart. IR. Radio. Canada's number one streaming app for radio and podcasts, including IHart Pride Canada, your favorite hits and must have party bangers,

Starting point is 00:15:07 In the moment, it felt like it was going on forever. I didn't think I was going to live. I was terrified. There was no anything inside those eyes. They turned black. It scared the hell out of me. That was your first murder case? Yes, sir.
Starting point is 00:15:27 Fear to say this was the biggest case of your career? Yes, sir. Rape a murder for children, 12-year-old. She's as bad as it gets. I would think so. People wake up. I'm the one that saw the murder take place by Crevent and DePippo. Anthony DePippo showed no signs of remorse,
Starting point is 00:15:44 appearing unfazed after being sentenced to the maximum. I said, I'm not guilty. I'll take it to the grief. Starting point is 00:16:17 Hey, I'm Hoda Kotby, host of the podcast, Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby. Together, we're going to have meaningful conversations with the world's most fascinating people. Like when actress Olivia Munn shared how she overcame fierce health challenges. I've gone through breast cancer and then helped my mother through breast cancer, and that was more difficult. There's a lot of people who understand postpartner depression. I was not prepared for postpartum anxiety. Listen to Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:16:47 All right, listen up. The Jonas Brothers here. Our podcast is called, Hey Jonas. We've here, since everyone has a podcast, we want it to as well. And we've had some incredible guests so far. And now our good friend, Nile Horn, is joining the show. How's it going, boys? Hey, Niall.
Starting point is 00:16:58 It's the same thing with Slow Hands. Slow Hands is not about anything else, really, is it? You know, or taste so good can't be about food. You do the same, Nick, with some of the stuff that you've done. You too, Joe. Drop what you're doing and listen to Hey Jonas on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to your podcasts. All right. So what would even be on your top five bits of all time? You've been on the show for how long now? What year is it?
Starting point is 00:17:29 26. So over 20 years? October, this October will be 23 years. Dang, that's wild. So in 23 years, you got the marathon that you got the marathon that you. He ran in four days with no notice. Yeah. You've got now the Price is Right. You've got going to jail, which you mention on Price is Right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:52 What else do you feel like would hit the top five? We did an April Fool's joke when we were early on. And we had a co-host of the time named Jill. And she had just gotten a new puppy. And so we were like, oh, let's see how many balloons it'll take to, you know, get the puppy to float off the ground. So we tied a bunch of balloons and sent it up.
Starting point is 00:18:16 And I was like, oh my God, it's getting away from me. Oh my gosh, I can't reach it. Oh, the puppy's gone. Was she not around you while this was happening? Oh, no, she was in the studio. And you were like out somewhere doing it? Yeah, I was out in the parking lot. And we had tied to stuffed animal to it and set it up. So she had no idea.
Starting point is 00:18:34 She thought it was her puppy this whole time. Not her. The entire city started calling 911. and we started getting people calling, hey man, I'm out here in Maynard, and I can shoot that sucker down. I got a gun. I see it.
Starting point is 00:18:47 I see it from the farm. And 911 was getting so many calls that we had to like, all right, guys, like April fools, April fools. That's funny. I've never heard of that bit. It was un-bill-I mean, it was like an hour and a half. We just went on and on about how the puppy,
Starting point is 00:19:05 call us if you see the balloons. Like, let us know where the dog is. At what point did Jill start having suspicions that? No, no, she was in on it. She knew that what was happening. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I was to say, I would be shocked that she committed her puppy to that bit. No, no, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:19:22 It was all about, like, because we had talked to. The show was in on it. Yes, 100%. Yeah, you just prank the whole city. Yeah, that one was pretty good. That was pretty amazing. Okay, so that's up there. One more, one more spot.
Starting point is 00:19:35 Oh, man, I don't even know. I mean, that's tough. I really, there's so many good ones that I don't even know. I don't know what. And maybe something will come to mind at a different point. I would like to hear what other people think. Like if they have one that sticks out. But another one that stuck out in Austin, we gave away free gas because gas prices were up really high.
Starting point is 00:19:57 Yeah. And so we were doing free gas at a gas station right there at 183 and breaker. And so people were pulling up and they were. I mean, the line was miles long, and we gave my can of refried beans. Instead of gas. That's free gas. Beans give you gas. And then we put our picture on it, and that was it.
Starting point is 00:20:22 We were handing out cans of beans. Were you guys all there, or were you the only one there? I was the only one there. And you were handing them out. So you were dealing with the fallout. Oh, yeah. That's bad. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:34 I mean, I'm trying to think what else? Those are pretty tough. Okay, so. So would you put them in those that order then? So you'd say Marathon at 1, prices right at 2. Yeah, yeah, probably. Kind of how he did a manor. Yeah, I think that's about right.
Starting point is 00:20:53 I mean, we've done a lot of solid bits. And I can't even remember all of them. That's the whole thing. I mean. I just didn't know if there were any that come to mind, especially with this happening, because I do feel like it really takes one of those top spots. Oh, it has to.
Starting point is 00:21:05 I mean, it was phenomenal. Like, it was just so great. Like just the whole execution of everything and not knowing like that unknown of going out there and it could have been a complete failure. Could have been a complete failure. Absolute disaster. But it wasn't. But it wasn't. And that was just like I cannot believe it.
Starting point is 00:21:26 Do you feel like any part of you that really wishes you would have won the showcase to like for the cherry on top? Oh, for sure. I mean, I wish I'd have won the showcase no matter what. I mean, the cherry on top would have been amazing. But in the grand scheme of things, it sucks to lose. Like, that sucked. It did suck. Like, it hit me right in the gut.
Starting point is 00:21:46 Like, dang, I was that close. But the fact. And to be that as close as you were. Right. It's not like I was off by thousands of dollars. I mean, I was right on it. But I still don't understand it because earlier in the show, a lady that won the thing, she won a trip to Banff, Canada.
Starting point is 00:22:05 jealous, yes. And the price was like $12,000. Yeah, BAMP, pretty expensive. But so is Greece and Thailand. That's what I'm saying. So I looked at that and I'm like Greece, Thailand, New Orleans, I mean, 12, 12, 8,000. Yeah. You know, I thought New Orleans probably made about $8,000 because it's cheaper because it's in the United States.
Starting point is 00:22:27 Yeah, it probably would have been more like five. So maybe that's where I messed up. Yeah. You know, I don't know. And so that's what I'm saying. Like it was, yes, I wish I would have won. Absolutely. Of course you wish you would have won.
Starting point is 00:22:41 But the fact that I got to play the whole game. Spin the wheel. Spin the wheel. And then be there and I mean, because in the little green room or whatever, the waiting room, they have a mock set up and you take a picture of the showcase showdown. And only two people out of 220 people get to stand at those showcase show, the real one. Two. and I was one of those two
Starting point is 00:23:04 that's unfreaking believable. It truly is. You could have writ that better because you got to not only come on down beyond contestant road, then you got to further go and be on Drew Carey,
Starting point is 00:23:16 play a game, you win the game, then you get to spin the wheel, you win the wheel. Like really so many things had to happen for all of that to go. There were a lot of things had to happen for you to get to the end.
Starting point is 00:23:26 Like the spinning of the wheel is absolutely pure luck. Pure luck. You have no control over that wheel. Yeah. Like nothing you do. And the wheel still confuses me a little bit. Like, how many times did you spend?
Starting point is 00:23:39 Two. You only spend two. I swore, I saw one of those ladies spend like eight times. No, you were drunk. It was at your watch party where I was watching it. I know, but that means you were drunk. And I was sober because there were so many children. I needed to be sober.
Starting point is 00:23:55 But it seemed like she spent it. And maybe I just didn't because I was kind of watching from the side. Well, one lady. one lady, okay, okay, okay. The first, you're talking about the first set. Yeah. That's because she got one dollar. When you get it equal to one dollar, you get a thousand dollars and you get a bonus
Starting point is 00:24:13 spin. So she did spin it a third time. Okay, so she did spend more than I thought. And I was, when I was trying to watch the calculations because it was like 60, 60, and then it would be like 80 would show up. I'm like, what? And I don't know if I just wasn't watching close enough to actually keep the math going, but It was confusing me.
Starting point is 00:24:32 The wheel spin confused me a little bit. Yeah, when those two ladies set it off and they had 80 each, Maryland and another lady, I was like, oh my gosh, I'm in deep trouble. I was like, this is a very slim. What did you end up getting on the wheel? 90 cents. Yeah. I got 30 and 60. And my first spin was almost 85.
Starting point is 00:24:51 Like it was right there and then clicked over to 30. I'm like, oh my gosh, now I need a perfect spin. And I got the perfect spin. And so when they hit $1. or that's bad or that's good? Good, because you want the closest to $1 without going over. Okay. And when you get $1,000, you get $1,000.
Starting point is 00:25:09 So that was the first groups. How many people ultimately spun the wheel? Six. But, so the person that won $1,000, is that the one you were competing again? Yes. Got it. I never watched hers. I didn't see her compete.
Starting point is 00:25:23 Yeah, she was the one that won. So they do it in groups of three. Yeah. Three? the first three and then they spin the wheel and then the next three they spin the wheel and the two people that out of those three go and meet in the finals
Starting point is 00:25:38 so then there was four of you guys and then you and that girl were the two finalists and all of that crazy it's crazy and what's crazy is how many people around me in line are the ones they got called down in contestant row
Starting point is 00:25:54 well Maryland Maryland the lady that won it Yeah. The girl that won the first game, she was doing the punch game, she was like number two or three in line. Who else was it? The guy that he got called up right at the beginning, he never got off contestants row. He was around us in line. I mean, so it was like a lot of us right there.
Starting point is 00:26:18 And you were sitting by each other in the audience or no? No, no. We weren't sitting. But in line just all day, we had been around each other. That was our group. Yeah. And I think maybe because we all talked to each other. other or I don't know. And personalities like that I feel like attract to each other in that type of setting.
Starting point is 00:26:33 You guys are all excited. You all want to talk about it. You want it. You know what I mean? Yeah. Maybe all of you guys actively wanting to be on just kind of gravitated your. And I think maybe they and this is total speculation is we were all the ones that got there early, like real early. So they know, oh my gosh, these people are hyped. But it could that could have nothing to do with it. How early were you? I mean, it was supposed to. Well, I wanted to get there at 10. 30. No, I wanted to get there at 10.
Starting point is 00:27:05 But then I found out the tuxedo place didn't open until 10. So you had to go get the tuxedo. So then I had to go to the tuxedo. I had to go get the tuxedo. I was like, oh my gosh, oh my gosh. And I was stressed out. Or was it? They went open to 11.
Starting point is 00:27:17 You got to look at up. Burbank. You have to look up the mall. See what time the tuxedo shop open. So I got there like 30 minutes after the hour, whatever. If it was 10.30 or 11.30. And we were supposed to film at 1.30. And we didn't film until like three.
Starting point is 00:27:30 So how long were you standing in line for before all of that? I got there, whatever, 1130. So by the time I got into the, I didn't bring a snack, water, anything. Yeah, you were open. So I'm outside talking. So basically you fasted. Maybe that was like your big thing. You fasted while you were winning.
Starting point is 00:27:47 And then once we got in the break room, Oh, you're. He's exhausted. Saturday, man, Saturdays. Once we got into the room, I had. water and snacks or whatever. And then you go over to the set and there's no water. You're not allowed to have water.
Starting point is 00:28:04 And so we were in there for like an hour and a half because, you know, they're getting everybody seated and then I'm jumping around and going crazy once I get called up. And then there's no water. It's probably a good thing you didn't have to have water though because I don't know that you could have held your pee for an hour and a half. That's a great point. Like I think you would have had to pee that whole time and then you might not have made it on the show.
Starting point is 00:28:23 And that's why they probably don't want you to have drinks because then someone has to get to go to the bathroom. and they get up out of the audience. It looks weird. On TV, you spill. Oh, no, it's slippery. Someone slips and falls. They've got all sorts of reasons.
Starting point is 00:28:34 They don't want someone in the background drinking a Coke. You know what I mean? Like in the back of the camera. I get it. I'm not saying it's bad. It was just like, oh my gosh. So pro tip for anybody who chooses to go. Make sure you eat before.
Starting point is 00:28:45 Yeah, bring snacks. Because you're going to wait outside for a while before you get in the room with actual snacks. Yeah. That's crazy, man. I still can't believe it. And I can't believe it was six months ago. Like when it first had. happened? I was like, oh man, that is so far away. This is going to be ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:29:03 Smash cut. Here we are. We're already there. Yeah, I probably felt like time was moving really slow. But then now that it's here, it's like, oh, that happened really quickly. But as each day was passing, our moments would happen where maybe you'd want to share it. Yeah. It was probably when it felt really slow. Oh, I never wanted to share it. I wanted to wait until March 31st so bad. And then I didn't even realize April 2nd when I said April 2nd, I mean, I wasn't even thinking it was Bobby's birthday. I was just like, oh yeah, and then the other one's April 2nd, guys, April 2nd's the next one, just because it was a couple days later. And just to clarify, you weren't on another one, because once you're on one, you can't be on.
Starting point is 00:29:36 You can't be on for 10 years. Dang. Is that any games that are around there, or is it just price is right? I don't know. I know that it's price is right. That's just what they were telling it's like, if you get on, you can't come back for 10 years. You can go sit in the audience, but you can't get called down. Oh, so you still can go and watch and be a part of the audience. Yeah, you can be a part of the crowd. That's interesting. I assumed you just couldn't go altogether. No, no, they don't mind your face being in there to fill up the seats and, you know, bring the energy, but you cannot.
Starting point is 00:30:06 Would you go back and just hang out in the crowd? I'll go back. And then whoever's with me, I'll get them on. That would be your plan. What was your story that you told them? Because, you know, you told us a bunch of stories. Yeah. Like, and at one point it was talking about making up a lie to try and get on.
Starting point is 00:30:23 Like, what was your story? Oh, my story was easy. What's up? I'm from Nashville, Tennessee. And man, I raised three boys. That's what I do for a living. But how do I make money? I'm on a morning radio show and I entertain America every morning and I'm here to entertain you today.
Starting point is 00:30:40 And that's all you had to say. That's what I said. Did you mention the going to jail thing? No. Until the moment that you met Drew Carey? No. That's funny. No, no.
Starting point is 00:30:50 They only talk to you for like 10 seconds. They ask you your name, where you're from. why are you here? Did you have your high energy that you had in the show? I had it all day. From the day, the moment I got out of the Uber. You're just hype. I talked to every single person I saw.
Starting point is 00:31:11 I didn't know who they were, didn't care, maybe they were a producer because this dude was direct in traffic. I'm like, what if he's seeing how people act? I got out of that Uber, started talking to him, hey, man, what book you're reading? He's reading some book. Oh, man, sounds very interesting, dude. Oh man, well, you have a great day, man.
Starting point is 00:31:24 He's like, you know your Uber can take you up there. Oh, don't worry about it, man. I'll just walk. I'm here and just enjoy the experience. Oh, so you just anticipated cameras being on you from the moment you had a lot. Okay. And I was just in a random parking lot and there was a daycare, so I don't think there was cameras out there. And that's where I met the chick when I was walking.
Starting point is 00:31:41 I met the girl from Dallas. She looked lost and bewildered. And I'm like, oh, you try to buy prices right. Come on, let's go. We'll find it together. You know, just I'll put you under my wing. I thought to everybody. every single person.
Starting point is 00:31:54 You were thriving. Yes. I feel like that day you were thriving. I'm telling you, I did not get back to the hotel to like 630 and I was exhausted. Okay. I have more questions. It was like a day on the cruise. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:09 I could imagine. You know what I mean? Like you're on the whole day trying to talk and like make sure whoever is picking people, you don't know who they are because I don't know who a producer is. I don't know who's what. make sure they see you as someone they want on that show. And I was working it. That was a pro tip.
Starting point is 00:32:27 I have more questions. We're going to take a break. Good. I'm going to get into this more. We'll be right back. Pride is like love. You feel it in your heart. IR. Radio.

Starting point is 00:32:58 Or listen now at iHeartRadio.ca. In the moment, it felt like it was going on forever. I didn't think I was going to live. I was terrified. There was no anything inside those eyes. They turned black. It scared the hell out of me. That was your first murder case?
Starting point is 00:33:23 Yes, sir. Fear to say this was the biggest case of your career? Yes, sir. Rape a murder for a child. Just as bad as it gets. I would think so. Evil, wake up. I'm the one that saw the murder take place by Crevette and DePippo.
Starting point is 00:33:38 Anthony DePippo showed no signs of remorse, appearing unfazed after being sentenced to the maximum. I said I'm not guilty. I'll take it to the grief. Listen to the devil's quarry on the Iheart radio app. Apple Podcast. or wherever you get your podcasts. And to hear the devil's quarry ad free with exclusive content,
Starting point is 00:34:04 subscribe to Love for Good Plus on Apple Podcasts. Hey, I'm Hoda Kotby, host of the podcast, Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby. Together, we're going to have meaningful conversations with the world's most fascinating people, like when actress Olivia Munn shared how she overcame fierce health challenges. I've gone through breast cancer and then helped my mother through breast cancer, and that was more difficult. There's a lot of people who understand postpartner depression. I was not prepared for postpartum anxiety.
Starting point is 00:34:37 Listen to Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. All right, listen up. The Jonas Brothers here. Our podcast is called, Hey Jonas. We've here since everyone has a podcast, we want it to as well. And we've had some incredible guests so far. And now our good friend, Nile Horn is joining the show. How's it going, boys?
Starting point is 00:34:55 Hey, Niall. It's the same thing with Slow Hands. Slow Hands is not about anything else, really, is it? You know, or taste so good can be about food. You do the same, Nick, with some of the stuff that you've done. You too, Joe. Drop what you're doing and listen to Hey Jonas on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to your podcasts. All right, of course I have to ask, was it worth it that your name is now out there?
Starting point is 00:35:23 Yes. You're fine. What are you talking about? Was it worth it? Did you see what I got to do? I do. But also, you've been very. protective over your name for so many years.
Starting point is 00:35:36 No, I really haven't. All you do is hit Google. It's not hard. But people bring it up, you're like, no, don't say it. It feels weird. It feels weird. But look, to get on that show, I had to do certain things. Sometimes you had to compromise your morals.
Starting point is 00:35:51 Did you try and say? No, there's no chance. Like, there's no. Because you just hand your ID. You hand your ID and they write it down. It's not like, hey, actually, I'm lunchbox. Like, Lisa can't be like, Actually, I go by Birdie.
Starting point is 00:36:05 No, that's not how it works. Bertie, you're leased it today. I'm sorry. And so, yeah, you just write your name down. Put my name down and we'll be good to go. So completely worth it. Completely worth it. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:36:17 Put the name tag on. I mean, woo. Dang. Will you go buy your real name now or stay with lunchbox? Don't be stupid. I'm not. That's a dumbest question. No, no.
Starting point is 00:36:28 That's the dumbest question you've ever asked. I'm asking questions that people want to know. That's the dumbest question anybody's ever asked. It will be lunchbox. A lot of listeners assumed you just never wanted your name out there. So now that it's out there, they're like, oh, well, maybe. No, we ain't, eh-uh. We didn't build this name for the last 23 years to just exit out.
Starting point is 00:36:47 No, we don't do that. And people do want to know, too. Like, do we call you by that? I have not called him that name the entire time that I've known. And you never will. No one does. That's why we will call by Lunchbox. That's it.
Starting point is 00:37:00 Period. End the story. Yeah, everybody at the studio. everybody at work. Nobody calls you by your real name. No. A lot of people didn't even know my real name. Some of the salespeople don't. But your friends in real life and stuff, they call you by your real name. Yeah. Or they call me idiot and dumbass. That's different terminology. Your kids obviously know your name too, I don't imagine.
Starting point is 00:37:22 Yeah. It's called Dad. Yeah, I was going to say Dad. And your wife called you by your name. She calls me stud. Okay. You're just now making up nicknames. No, I'm not. I'm, guys. Speaking of kids, though, and your wife, the watch party was wild. That was awesome.
Starting point is 00:37:40 The ratio of children to adults was insane. Well, yeah, you have to understand. There was only about 20 to 25 couples. Yeah. So I was going to say ratio was 60 kids, 40 adults. And every couple has at least two or three kids. So, I mean, you just got to imagine. My wife invited anybody that she had said hi to since we have moved to Nashville.
Starting point is 00:38:02 Like it was like, oh, I invited these people. I'm like, what? We haven't seen them in 10 years. I know, but I felt like they should be here. I did talk to your neighbor. She loves you. Oh, yeah, the older lady? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:14 Yeah. She loves you. She's very excited to be there. She's great. And she was pretty funny at one point because she was like, I love, I love kids. This is so awesome. But then the show started playing, right? Like the, we started to play.
Starting point is 00:38:27 Oh, I bet she got mad. I bet she got mad. And the kids were so loud, mind you. The kids don't understand a watch party. I didn't think kids would be that interested and want to watch it. I thought they would be there for about 10 seconds and give up, go back outside. But a lot of them stayed and a lot of them didn't shut up. Yeah, and they didn't.
Starting point is 00:38:46 But some did start to migrate outside. And she's like, yeah, go, go. And she just kept saying go. I was like, I don't know where any of these children's parents are. I don't know that we should be saying that. Why? They're just going outside. It's not like they're going out in the middle of the road.
Starting point is 00:39:00 No, but it was just funny. She was like, yes, all of you leave. Like, it was first she loved them and then she was like, yeah, get out. Because she wanted to hear. Yeah, everybody wanted to hear. She wanted to hear the drama. It was fun to watch your kids because they were very much like very invested. Your kids didn't leave.
Starting point is 00:39:13 No, they didn't leave for a second. And I think if I heard correctly, the oldest was like, hey, why are we fast forward? And I want to watch the whole thing. Yeah. He was very mad. Yeah, he was not to understand. I was like, bud, because this doesn't matter. This is just fluff.
Starting point is 00:39:25 We don't need to see these other people. And these people need to get home and get to bed because you guys have school in the morning. And so, yes. we did fast forward the other people's game so we could just get to the meats and potatoes. Yeah, it was fun to watch. It was fun to watch you in your element, dad, contestant, now kind of famous person. Yeah, I was. I was kind of famous person, you know, but nothing, my life hadn't changed much. I haven't got any deals or anything. I don't know when the sponsorships start rolling in, but hopefully soon. Are you going to
Starting point is 00:39:56 try and capitalize on this moment now and get on other game shows? I would love to. I would love to get on another game show, but I would, I mean, it depends what it is? I was going to say, what would you try and go on? I don't know. I'd have to look at all the game shows, because I don't want to be on one that's just, like, weird and no one cares about. Yeah, so, like, top ones? Yeah. Which ones would you be good at? Do you feel like you'd be really good at? There's not a lot left that I'd be good at. Price's Right was your life. The Price's Right was my, I mean, and that's what's funny. I was like, did you study? I'm like, what are you going to study? Like, how would I study that stuff?
Starting point is 00:40:30 Because you have no idea what game you're going to play. You have no idea what... I would say how many games are there? A lot. Because you only see five or six of them really in there. Yeah, and I was going to watch old episodes and stuff. And I kept telling me, I said, yeah, I'm going to watch some episodes leading into that and watch crap. I almost feel like, too, if you overstudy...
Starting point is 00:40:51 You overthink. Yeah. It makes it worse. Gosh, if I'd have just been had 31,300. Just think. I don't want both showcases. Okay, so here's some of the top ones. You've already been on Family Food.
Starting point is 00:41:04 So now you've been on two. Yeah, but I'd go on Family Feud again. Okay. But you've been on two. You've been on Price's Right and Family Feud, which is the top four. Yeah. I mean, the other one's Wheel of Fortune, obviously. Yep.
Starting point is 00:41:14 Another one is Jeopardy. Yep. I would never go on Jeopardy in my life. Really? I wouldn't get it. I would just stay. I wouldn't get a single question. Is Jeopardy the...
Starting point is 00:41:24 It's impossible. What is... Yeah. What do you mean? What is Jeopardy that? What are you talking about? You have a lot of these games, like the only game show that I really watched growing up was how to, how to be a millionaire. Who wants to be a millionaire?
Starting point is 00:41:40 Who wants to be a millionaire? Jeopardy is the most impossible thing you have ever witnessed in your life. I don't know where they find enough smart people to go on that game. Okay. Because they're the most random subjects and they're like, oh yeah. Names in the dictionary with the letter Q that were born on a Wednesday. Oh, my favorite subject. And it's like, what? Yeah, but have you ever been to a random trivia night? People have all kinds of interesting information in their brains. So crazy. I don't personally have terrible trivia. I'm going to tell you what.
Starting point is 00:42:12 It's really funny when they do that on Jeopardy and then they do a sports category and they don't get a single one right. That's hilarious. You don't have time to watch sports if you're intaking all the rest of the information. That's what I'm saying. That's why it's so funny. It's like, oh my gosh, these are the ones that, you know, you don't get right. You're crazy. but you name mountain ranges that have one vowel in it that are on the eastern coast that get snow 3% of the year.
Starting point is 00:42:35 Oh, yeah, I love those mountains. What? So no jeopardy. No. Wheel of Fortune? I'd go on that in a heartbeat. Okay. So maybe that's your next one.
Starting point is 00:42:43 Other popular ones include Survivor. It's not a game show. I mean, aren't you winning something at the end of it? Yeah, I guess. But, yeah, I'd go on Survivor tomorrow. That would be your really... That would be my number one. I'd be my number one.
Starting point is 00:42:58 Mass singer. I don't feel like that one is your lane. Press your luck. I'd go on that. The $100,000 pyramid? I would go on that. I don't think I know that one. That's where you give clues and you can't say certain words.
Starting point is 00:43:10 They've got to get it. Then you work your way at the pyramid to get $100,000. Okay. It's freaking awesome. And then the chase. I don't know what that is. I don't know that one. Let's see.
Starting point is 00:43:21 High stakes trivia against experts is what that one's called. Again, back to trivia. Back to trivia. The floor. seen how that goes Friday morning trivia or whatever it's called what is it called easy trivia yeah all the time you can't remember that name well it was Friday morning dance party Friday morning trivia and I can't get them right uh yeah so I wouldn't do trivia is not really my uh strong suit I don't really pay attention to the world so I don't think that would be where I need to be yeah
Starting point is 00:43:46 yeah man it's great what a week man I'm just glad it's out there now is there anything else that you're like I really want to share about this and you haven't I feel like I asked you all the questions but oh man I have no idea what do you how did you make up the storylines the next following days because you were still calling us yeah obviously you get on the first time the first day and then you had two more days out there yeah so how are you making up stories I don't know just I just had to come up with something hoping and rolling with it yeah I was just like let's try to make something that sounds believable yeah like I had to rack my brain like how am I going to do this how am I going to show them that, oh yeah, I'm here and it's not going well.
Starting point is 00:44:30 Like, what stories can I tell? Were you consulting with your wife at all? Because obviously she knew. No, she didn't. She's not the, she, no. She's just like, nah. But scuba knew. Scoba knew.
Starting point is 00:44:41 So did you consult with him to try and figure out how to navigate it? Or were you just by yourself? I think I was just flying by the seat of my pants, really just like talk a little bit. Because if you talk too much, then you poke holes in stories. That's true. And so I was just like, man, I went It was Valentine's Day And I got to the ID place
Starting point is 00:44:59 And I'm like, oh, which one's your plus one? I was like, I didn't have one. So they told me they had to, radio. We got one that I didn't have one. I see a lot. No, okay. Sorry, sir, you're not going to be able to go in today.
Starting point is 00:45:11 So that took care of one day. I took care of one day. What was your storyline the other day? That I was going to be a little bit more calm. The first day I was up in people's faces. So I'm not going to be taking as many pictures. I'm just going to, you know, have a few. Did you wear the tucks that day?
Starting point is 00:45:24 Yeah. Okay. I don't know. I don't remember if I said I wore the tucks that day. But I said, you know, so I'm not going to be, I'm going to be a little bit more reserved, just kind of chill, talk to the people around me, not work the room as much. Because maybe my phone in their faces was too much. Guys, that didn't work either.
Starting point is 00:45:39 I don't know. That was them. Oh, crazy. Pretty good acting. Yeah, feels good. And I shouldn't say pretty good. That's good acting. You pulled it over on everybody.
Starting point is 00:45:51 I know. And that's why it feels good. That's what I'm saying. It was a great, it was a just overall amazing win for me. 10 out of 10. I give you a 10 out of 10. Yeah, you have to give me a 10 out of 10 because I pulled it off. And you know what?
Starting point is 00:46:04 You're number one this week. Oh, wow, surprising. I thought we'd do it number one where Morgan went to the washer and dryer. You know what I mean? Like, wow. No, I went to the dentist. That's the number two. No, you're a number one.
Starting point is 00:46:18 I'm like, I should be a number one, number two, number three, number four, and number five. I don't think we did anything else good this week. It never typically falls on the week that you're here, and it just so happened to line up this way. This was not planned. Like, it was planned in advance as far as we always do for best bits, but I had no idea that it was going to line up. Oh, I was on the schedule this week already. I mean, I should have talked to my agent. He should have got me some more money for this.
Starting point is 00:46:40 Yeah, he should have. Yeah, it's wild. Well, thanks for talking about it. Thanks for being here. And if there wasn't anything covered in this, you can go to the Store Losers podcast. We did a recap on Wednesday. Bray gave his feelings and thoughts and his view from the outside as someone looking in clues that he was like, I can't believe I didn't pick up on that.
Starting point is 00:47:03 You know, because we do a crime pod and he was like, as a detective, I should have been better. So you can go listen to that. You do a crime pod within Thorleazers? Yeah. We're the number 10 crime pod in America. In your eyes' heads? No, no, in the rankings. Or we're about to be.
Starting point is 00:47:18 We're about to eat. Sure, sure. Okay. So, and you can watch your episodes of Price is Right. Paramount Plus. Is that where they're at? Yeah. Okay, I'll have to go back and watch.
Starting point is 00:47:26 I was trying, people were hitting up trying to watch it. And they're like, when does it air? I was like, well, it already aired. Yeah, now it's up there forever. And maybe CBS. Can you watch it on CBS? Oh, I assume. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:47:37 I've never checked. But Paramount, you, for sure. For sure, Paramount. Okay. Of course, I'm like Googling it and that's the one thing that doesn't show up. Yeah. For some reason. Okay, well, go watch it.
Starting point is 00:47:48 Lunchbox. Thanks for being here and all your newfound fame. Oh, you want to know another little tidbit that I found out? Yeah. That I was going to be the thumbnail, but then I would have given it away. Oh, on the recording or whatever. Yeah, that would have given it away. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:07 So did you, were you like, no? No, I didn't know that until after. And you're like, oh, well, I want to be the thumbnail now. No, no, let Marilyn have it. It's great. Maryland's it. I like it. I'm happy for her because she's my girl.
Starting point is 00:48:21 Yeah, and she loved that. Yeah, she did comment on one of the posts like, can you be my son? You guys basically are related in some way. I would believe it. And the guy that I jumped in his lap, he commented on something. He was like, oh my gosh, I finally get to say congratulations. Been waiting to say congrats to you.
