Starting point is 00:02:48 Everybody else is... Just to explain, we don't want to spend a lot of time in this on the air, but I think it'd be cool to explain to our listeners again how we do shows when I travel. I sit in a studio, and right now I'm in New York.
Starting point is 00:02:57 And with technology, you can pretty much go anywhere. I can go anywhere. Amy goes places, lunchbox, you know, ghost places sometimes. And you can sit in a room. And as long as you have a visual and a good connection, you almost can't tell the difference, right? Yeah, that good connection is crucial, though. Yeah, once a couple weeks ago, they put me in a bad room.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Oh, once Amy was in a bad room. It's the worst. And I kind of had to shut it down and be like, Amy, don't talk. I know. But we don't really bring that up on the air. But I'm sitting in a room in New York. in some tall building. What part town are we in?
Starting point is 00:03:30 And Tribeca in Manhattan, New York. New York City, the big D. No, that's not the big D. Oh, that's Dallas. Oh, oh, oh. The city of brotherly love. No, that's Philly. Oh, my bad, my bad.
Starting point is 00:03:43 So, and then I'm looking at Amy on an iPad. And so we visually see each other. I don't see the rest of the room, but what Amy does is she works is my signal caller. So if Ramundo's playing a clip, like Ramundo play that My Maria clip that I see appear on my wall. just the song that Brooks and Dunn version I can take my hand and move my hand down and Amy will do the motion I'm doing to Ray Mundo
Starting point is 00:04:05 to pull the clip down so I'll do this and Amy will take it to Ray and Ray pulls it down and that's how we do the show when I'm gone sometimes if we lose connection I just got to guess I listen to the song
Starting point is 00:04:17 I feel it I try to channel my inner Bobby and I turn Ray down and I just hope that it was right the reason I think that we do this pretty well is because for five years, Amy lived in another state while we did the show. Yeah, I did the show from my garage. And we've talked about that, but it was just, like, I wanted Amy to be on this show.
Starting point is 00:04:38 She was leaving. We threw a going to go away party. I was like, nope, I'm not going to resign my contract unless Amy stays. So built our studio. We learned how to do it. And sometimes if our connections are not good, we won't even see each other the whole show. We'll sit here and do it. But anyway, that's what's happening today. Also, today it's Reba McIntyre's birthday. Had birthday to Reba. She's 64. years old. She was born today. 195. Yeah. Reba was born. In Oklahoma, she has sold more than 70 million albums worldwide.
Starting point is 00:05:06 Big for Reba, the TV show, won all these awards. 32 number one song. Some of her biggest number ones are, You Lie. First number one was Can't Even Get the Blues. What's that, Eddie? Listen to that. That sounds so cool. Yeah. And old. That's our first ever number one.
Starting point is 00:05:36 Obviously, Little Rock, which I love, when she came out, talked to her by this one. And here you go. Fun fact, fancy from Riba not only is a cover, which we talked about. Right? Didn't we talk about that? It only peaked at number eight. And I think a lot of people would assume that's her biggest song. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:01 Because it's lasted and is famous. But yeah, love Riba. You know, when Riba was getting her award, in D.C. at the Kennedy Honors. And that's like the biggest award you can get as a creative. They give it to Riba and share and, you know, a couple of other people who have been doing music for a long, long time. Like an actress.
Starting point is 00:06:24 Remember who? But they said, will you come and be the first person on the show on CBS and intro Riba? And I thought, first I thought when they invited me, Amy, honestly got that they wanted me to sit in the crowd. They were like, will you come to Rivas' introduction? And I said, sure. our support. I don't know Riva so well that I could call her or text her, but we always talk when we see each other, which is crazy to say. But then they were like, no, no, we want you to actually
Starting point is 00:06:50 come and introduce her. And so I was like, great. So I was just like writing the speech and these jokes. And I remember going up, I don't think I've ever shared this. And I was nervous because again, there are Supreme Court justices and senators all sitting out there. And it's not really a crowd that is there to laugh yet at the very first of a show. And they're not going to know who I am. So I have two strikes against me already. And I think Reba's awesome. And so I don't mess this up. And I go out and I start with some serious stuff about how much like Reba was a part of my childhood listening for music. And then I tell a couple jokes. And I get some moderate laughs. They told one, I got a really good laugh. Told a couple that you got low laughs. I don't say,
Starting point is 00:07:31 got it. I made a bad joke. That's a bad joke anyway. If somebody doesn't get it. And I watched it back on TV and they cut it down. They cut everyone's down because they just kind of let you go as long as you wanted and they cut it down from that. Amy, I think they added laugh tracks at two of my jokes. Really? Oh. And I didn't hate that by the way.
Starting point is 00:07:50 No. Of course. Because the jokes did okay in the room but I think they added some, unless I was just funnier than I thought I was, but I don't think so. Like I watched it back on TV and I was like that's pretty funny, but I remember the audience laughing that hard. So shout out. Shout out.
Starting point is 00:08:06 Shout out. Love it. Like, add laugh tracks. If I'm ever on TV show, if I'm ever on like a fitness magazine, add abs. You know, you can airbrush me like crazy. You're okay with that? Of course. I want you to be comfortable with your body and who you are.
Starting point is 00:08:23 I am, but I'm even more comfortable when they made me better. I know. But you want other men to look up to you, embracing your body. That's what we have to do is women. We have to stop the whole, the airbrushing on the magazines. it's not attainable. There you go. That's right.
Starting point is 00:08:39 It sucks for you guys. Me? Airbrushed the crap out of me, man. I want an eight pack. Yeah. Like, I'll take it. I'll take every bit of it. See?
Starting point is 00:08:51 That sounded normal. Yeah. What sounded normal? The laugh track? There was all of us. Oh, there was a laugh track? You didn't hear it? I thought that was all you guys just like loving a joke.
Starting point is 00:09:01 Yeah. Okay. Eddie, are you that slow that you thought I really didn't hear the laugh track? We spent all that time talking about technology. It's so good. Oh my gosh. Bobby can't hear that laugh. Whatever.
Starting point is 00:09:11 I was reading this story. There's a pair of college friends. They spent three weeks living off bugs as they wandered naked around a Malaysian jungle because they wanted to be like Bear Grills on TV. Their names were Daniel and James. They were like, hey, let's go to the rainforest and see if they could be done. But they gave up after 16 days when Daniel cut his hand on a machete. They lost 46 pounds.
Starting point is 00:09:36 Wow. And they just ate bugs? They ran out of water on the first day. Well, that's not good. They regularly blacked out from hunger. I'd be out like day two. If I'm blacking out. How many days do you?
Starting point is 00:09:46 And it's voluntarily, I'm out. 16. How many of what? A whole, what? They were going a month. I think a month. So I can say this now is that I was a pro. Let me just say.
Starting point is 00:10:01 I was talking about going on that show, Bear Girls, Survivor, that Survivor show? Yeah. Not Survivor the Game Show, but Bear Girls, where you go on, you survive with him and you go to some crazy part of the world and you for like three days you have to like rough it and they documented it all and we were talking about me doing that show but because of all of my schedule now I couldn't do it and he tapes right in the middle of me doing all this and I said yeah I would love to do it if we can work it out and it was in like a South American country but in my heart I was like oh my God what if I die and a little bit of me like one percent of me
Starting point is 00:10:33 is like thank goodness because I was going to go do it I know I thought you were too and I told Amy I think I'm going to do this show because I thought it would be, like, I thought it'd be cool to talk about once it was over. Yeah. Like once it was going?
Starting point is 00:10:44 Yeah. It would be an amazing experience once in a lifetime. If you don't die. I don't understand about those shows, though, is that someone's filming them, right? They set the camera up,
Starting point is 00:10:54 I think. Obert does all of it or there's a camera crew with him? I think, listen, I'm not sure. You may look this up,
Starting point is 00:11:00 but I thought he took a camera with him and set it up. Okay. Yeah, that's what he does. Yeah. Because I always think like, oh, man, this survivor.
Starting point is 00:11:07 or buy himself, wait a minute. How are five cameras shooting this dude? Well, it's never like a five camera shot. They could maybe take one person with them because I was watching one with him and Marshawn Lynch, the football player. Oh, cool. And it's just one bad camera. So it could be one person with them or he could set the camera up one of the ways. But I was going to do that show. I thought that would be pretty cool after it was over. Not while it was happening because I'd be miserable and scared. But I thought it'd be fun, but I'm not able to do that. So what else do I have here that I want to talk about? Amy's podcast is up today.
Starting point is 00:11:37 Yeah. Four things with Amy Brown. What's on the agenda this week? Well, so I brought Carrie on my face girl, and we talk about over-the-counter things that are really good for you, like stuff that you can just get at the grocery store. It's nothing crazy or expensive. And then I have another friend that is on talking with me about, you know, if you want to say hi to someone or send an email, like it could change your life because that's how I met him five years ago. He's the one that emailed me about us doing the food packing event for Haiti where we broke a Guinness World Record. And he, I mean, he had no idea if I would reply to that.
Starting point is 00:12:11 And like, he's gone to Haiti with me since then. We're friends now. So it's like, just send that email and make me think about how I said hi to you at a restaurant. And it changed my life. So you may hear back nothing or nothing may come of it or your life could totally change. You know, that's interesting that you bring that up because I was, I'm really, I'm thinking about a third book right now. I don't want to just write one for the sake of writing one, but I kind of have an idea and a premise. and a story that I have about that same thing
Starting point is 00:12:38 I was I was going into ABC this is a year and a half ago and in my first book I talked about how I was up I did a pilot and I got Dionne Sanders and I were cast for the pilot and we had the show we did all of it and then at the last minute the pilot didn't go through
Starting point is 00:12:54 and so I'd remained and I had this I was doing all these meetings and for years and years I would just fly back and forth Los Angeles and do all these and just beg for people to have meetings with me for years I'm going to talk about on the show just go and just be like, give me 15 minutes. And that would turn into people going, giving me 30 minutes.
Starting point is 00:13:09 And years later, I'm in other meetings. So none of this stuff happened overnight. But what did happen was I'm in a meeting at ABC. And I'm sitting in the lobby and there's another lady sitting in the lobby. And she's British. And I was like, oh, where are you from? We start talking. And we kind of hit it off just like having a conversation.
Starting point is 00:13:27 I didn't know much about her. I knew she was there to have a meeting with that dude that I was going to meet with too. and she goes first. I'm just sitting there. And then I got called in a few minutes later. And I walk in and she's the freaking executive producer of American Idol. I didn't know that. She's the showrunner, executive producer, everything.
Starting point is 00:13:47 And we had just spent 20 minutes talking just as humans. And that was when I do think that's what kind of convinced her. Because I just did a couple. I was only brought up for like one episode at very first last year. I do think that's what convinced her to put me on the show. Like, doesn't think she was borderline. She's like, what, this guy? He does radio.
Starting point is 00:14:07 Okay, so what? He's running a book. Yeah. Like, a lot of people, you know, he's kind of funny, but not super funny. But we sat and talked, and when I went to the meeting, it was like, oh. And then she put me on one episode, turned into two, turned into four, turned into this season of full time. All because of a freaking conversation we were having a lobby. It was crazy.
Starting point is 00:14:28 It's awesome. Yeah. Have ever told that story? You haven't. I don't think so. Well, in case my third bullet comes out, it will be much better than that when I write it. Okay. Can't wait. But that's cool. There's, oh yeah. Mike D says they take a two people camera crew now.
Starting point is 00:14:44 The show's gotten bigger. I guess he's broke at first. Oh, okay. Oh, okay. He just has to do it with himself. Are you seeing these stories about all these restraining orders people are getting? No, my. What they do. Okay. Okay, so first, Taylor Swift. You remember this one from a few weeks ago? the guy that got out of jail
Starting point is 00:15:01 went back to Taylor Swift's house and they arrested him again Oh yeah Yeah He had a restraining order He's like a stalker And so he gets out of jail And goes right to Taylor's house
Starting point is 00:15:09 And so then Chris Martin of Cole play He's gotten a restraining order Against a woman who believes She's dating him I saw this one Martin also claims The police have approached the woman
Starting point is 00:15:22 Told her stay away to no avail She keeps coming back The letters at his home Are referencing children Suicide death and Delusions A Romantic Or relationship. There's another one. Natalie Portman, I'm just reading these. These are all happening recently. A 23-year-old man, police say was stalking Natalie Portman was arrested outside
Starting point is 00:15:38 her house on Tuesday, so two days ago, 3.30 p.m. He's not even doing it at like 30.m. Come on, dude. Doing the dark. I mean, if you're going to do it, don't do it. No, do it in a day. But you know what I mean? Like, I want to do it at 3.30 p.m. Yeah, Bobby, don't give people tips. I'm telling. Nobody's listening to this right now going, I'm on the borderline of stalking. But here's the thing about these weirdo stalkers. Do they really think if they go hang around these people enough, they're going to fall in love with them?
Starting point is 00:16:07 Yeah, I don't know. The answer is yes. The answer is yes. Yes, they do. I mean, they're delusional. Yes. Yes, which is why. Which is scary.
Starting point is 00:16:16 Absolutely. It takes one person, one time, one stab, and it's all over. So, yeah, these celebrities are, like, that's why they can't be around a mass group of people. it's a numbers game. If like a million people love you and get to be around you all the time, one of them are going to want to stab you and eat your liver. That's all the Chris Martin.
Starting point is 00:16:37 Remember the girl that was watching David Letterman and thinking that he was talking her through the TV? Do you remember that one? Vaguely. I feel like I remember you telling you something about it, but that is, that's weird. That's weird. You have to be so like psychologically just a hot- Yeah, well, yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:55 There's lots going on. Imbalanced. Yeah. Mike, Deep. the whole minute or stuff in the Howard Stern show club. Do you want to hear that? Have you heard that? Yeah, I want to hear it. I'm a big Howard Stern fan. I've been my whole life. It's a minute and a half or so.
Starting point is 00:17:09 And he's, what I'm told was he was talking about Marin and he was watching me interview her. And he starts playing her song. Well, I like this song. And this is like a bit of it. Here you go. But she was on the, who's the guy who is on dancing with the stars? And he evidently's on like 640 radio stations. A country guy. Country D. DJ.
Starting point is 00:17:29 Oh, I don't know that. Bobby Bones. She was on the Bobby Bones show for years doing country songs. I kind of know everything about her now. I never even heard of Bobby Bones still dancing with his stars, but evidently, he's like the biggest thing in radio. He's like
Starting point is 00:17:46 Ryan Seacrest of country. Yeah. He talked about you in his book, hell? He has a book? Yeah, he's just about how much he loves you and how he kind of modeled his career after you. Bobby? Bobby, Bones.
Starting point is 00:18:02 If you did Dancing with the Stars, you don't f*** your career for me. But I'll take that as a very nice compliment. Thank you, Bobby. Well, I mean, he can't be you, so he has to do dancing with the stars. Well, that's how I became aware of him. I became, like, I still get, he seems like a nice guy, I mean. But I'm a scumbag. That's how I rose to the top.
Starting point is 00:18:28 Well, everybody's trying to figure out how to be you with. Without all that. Yeah. That's what a guy asked me once. How do you do it? But without all the stuff you guys went through. Just be yourself. That's all.
Starting point is 00:18:41 No, don't be yourself. Yeah, through yourself, you're going nowhere. I know on all these kids shows, they're like, you know, the Nickelode shows. All the actors, all the young actors could say, hey, kids. There you go. So I thought that's pretty cool. I love that. I want to hear, yeah, that's awesome.
Starting point is 00:18:58 Yeah, that's awesome for me. that movie that he what's that movie private parks yeah I've never seen it should I watch it great yeah it's really good like I I love Howard Stern so and there's a story so if you Google hey Google that Rolling Stone interview they did with me about being like the best interviewer and I was like no no do not say that I think I said like I'm the second best interviewer in radio and I was like because I would never say that I'm better than Howard's turn. And so it was a couple years ago. And I said something else. It was kind of controversial at the time. Here's
Starting point is 00:19:33 let me, I'm a little hazy here. Mike D's handing me this story. Uh, it's from Rolling Stone. The headline is Bobby Bones on country beefs, death threats, and the state of radio. Is this the one? No, I don't think this is it. This is about me getting death threats. Anyway, whatever. Inside of that, I was like, hey, you can't say I'm the best interviewer. I said, I'm the second best interviewer behind Howard's turn. So anyway, I thought that was pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:20:02 Mike D pulled the whole clip. Hey, but how does that feel, bones? Like, this is stuff that... It feels freaking great. It feels freaking great. It goes back to, this goes back to like your teenage years. Yes. Like, to me, regardless of how you feel about his content,
Starting point is 00:20:17 he's the greatest to ever do it because he was really the one that was like, I could go, oh, he's just being himself or when he's saying how he feels, even if people don't like it, they at least appreciate that he's telling his truth. like and that's with me I don't think people
Starting point is 00:20:30 have to agree with me all the time they rarely don't I mean I can't post I'll read it in a second I'm an idiot and I say things sometimes that are really obnoxious
Starting point is 00:20:39 and as long as people know I'm being for real about my obnoxiousness then I'm good like it's so hard to find honesty and I try to be as honest as I can and sometimes I'm just wrong
Starting point is 00:20:50 but here let me see the headline but it feels great Eddie that's like the only thing that could be on parts of David Letterman was talking about me yeah Oh my gosh, you would die
Starting point is 00:21:01 I mean that's like trifecta is amazing Yeah, like I love and I thanked in both of my books Letterman Howard Stern And then my second book Jimmy Kimmel So here it is This is from the Washington Post Why Country Radio host Bobby Bones doesn't regret
Starting point is 00:21:16 Saying he's the best interviewer Next to Howard Stern That's what it was So there you go Speaking of that There's a new interview with Jana Kramer On the Bobbycast If you want to hear that
Starting point is 00:21:26 the show's over. Check out some of our podcast. If you like sports, the guys have a sports show they do every day. It's called The Soar Losers Show. What are you guys talking about? What's the big topic now, lunchbox with you guys?
Starting point is 00:21:40 The new football league is going bye-bye. It's already over. It didn't last very long. Wait. What? The AAF is already putting out the things that they're probably going to fold after this season.
Starting point is 00:21:54 Really? Yeah. Johnny Manzell did. didn't save the league? Nope, and needed of that guy that put $250 million into it. Did that money actually ever go, though?
Starting point is 00:22:03 Or did he just say it was going? Because I don't think it went. Well, he's now the owner of the league. Like, he's the majority owner. Really? Yeah. Well, you can hear that.
Starting point is 00:22:13 That sucks for them. I mean, there were like 200 people going to those games, bones. They look pretty sad. Yeah. But that's how it starts. You've got to build. Like, when you open a business,
Starting point is 00:22:24 100 people don't come the first day, 10, then 20. They don't go for the grand opening? It's all, it's, well, yes. They actually, they should. It should be big at first, really big at first. Especially people know about the, you try to get the products as known as possible.
Starting point is 00:22:38 However, it's all about where the growth is they see in five years and if they don't see it. Yeah. No, well. Anything else, Amy? Nah. We want to mention here. I see you're kind of nodding off when Amy starts to lean back in a chair and be over it. Oh, no, but I don't know anything about American League football or what Johnny
Starting point is 00:22:55 Mansell's doing. You would take his A&M. I know. Oh, let me run this by you guys. Okay. So I mentioned that I had said, hey, there's this girl, not even dating her, not even, never been on a date with her, know her as a friend. And I was like, you know what?
Starting point is 00:23:12 She'd be fun as a date to this wedding. It's also pretty cute. And I was like, hey, do you want to go to this wedding? And her response was, Amy? Oh, I can. I'm going to a bachelorette party in Iceland. Right. Which is like the most random response ever.
Starting point is 00:23:29 Apparently she really is. Well, yeah, I hope so. Oh, she is? Okay, good. Well, listen, I didn't know. I thought maybe just a funny answer, like, to say no. Yeah. Amy was my first choice to go, and she can't, because she has some stuff with her kids, can't find a sitter.
Starting point is 00:23:41 Then I went to this other girl and was like, no. And my question is, I've already reserved that, is it, do she have me to show up if I've RSVPed? And they're like, we need a name plate for whomever is coming with you. Oh, I don't think they're having name plates. I think as long as you just text Sarah and Cody and let them know, it's not a big deal. Let me read this. What are you going to say, lunch, wrong?
Starting point is 00:24:04 I was going to say your fallback could be Morgan number two. Interesting, but here's the thing with that. Is that your girl? Here it is, Amy. It says, hi, here you bring into the wedding so we can add them to the seating chart. Oh. Oh, the chart. Oh.
Starting point is 00:24:19 Oh. Yeah. Sign seats. I would take Morgan number two. But then after come in here and deal with lunch, Watch box. Oh, yeah. What is you so immature?
Starting point is 00:24:33 I'm just saying it's wedding. Bajikawa. What? Like, you think that that's happening? Right. You're done. You ever taking a girl to a wedding? No.
Starting point is 00:24:46 Oh, well. Have you? Yeah. And then what happened? Let's just say we went back to the little cabin and we had some fun. The cabin? Yeah. Isn't that your wife?
Starting point is 00:24:56 Was it Abe Lincoln's farm? No, I'm just saying the wedding was in Salado, Texas. Okay. Why did you say Salado is so sexy? Because it's a little small town. We rented a little cabin and... Again, is this your wife? Nope.
Starting point is 00:25:16 Was it this year? That was pre-wife. Okay, y'all were dating. I mean, the wife, the woman you married, this is when y'all were dating? No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I said this is pre-wife. So this only happened once. You have one wedding example with one person.
Starting point is 00:25:32 No, I'm just telling you that's one example. Like, come on, guys. Well, I wouldn't hear more. You do? Okay, go ahead. I really don't. But I don't get me either. Like, a little bit of me went,
Starting point is 00:25:42 Buh. That's just how. It's funny where he's like, have you ever taken a girl to a wedding? And then he's got like a one example. Or a girl invites you to a wedding. 10 years ago. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:54 That's what she wants. because you get free alcohol at a wedding and the whole love environment. I don't drink. I'm just saying the women wants to get frisky after a wedding. Oh, that's how it works. Amy, since there's a seating chart,
Starting point is 00:26:09 here's the question. Is it bad form if I go by myself? I mean, you should give them a heads up. But yeah, if you wanted to take somebody, then. I don't know. What is the answer? I'm not, the etiquette queen. I think that if you decide you're going alone,
Starting point is 00:26:24 You 100% should text Sarah and Cody. If you feel like you need to fill that seat, then, yeah, see if Morgan number two or somebody else is available. So that way the guilt can be gone and you have, you know, nothing's wasted. And should I feel guilty that I go to Morgan number two and always go, hey, if these first two don't work out? Because that's happened a few times. You should ask her. Oh, you guys got a relationship like that, you know. Morgan number two, how do you feel about all this?
Starting point is 00:26:51 Yeah, I feel a little B-team. player right now. It's fine. But I can't go anyway. I have tickets to the Kelly Clarkson show. Bachelor party in Iceland. I love Kelly Clarkson. Oh, man. Your girls. Can you see Kelly Clarkson in Mexico? Yeah. Your BFF can't even go. That's wrong. I know. I know. I just have to, because I had some other people reach out, Amy, that were like, I don't have a bachelor at party in Iceland. Like, people that I just kind of know. But it's like, if I don't know them really, and I don't want to, That's probably not a good thing, right? I mean, it was very, I love that you were thinking positively, like you would have a date.
Starting point is 00:27:33 Sort of like the destination wedding that we're all going to, sort of. Did you RSVP for a date to that one? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I love that you're like, optimistic. That's the word. Like you're putting it out there that you're going to have someone. It just didn't quite work out this time, and this one was probably way easier to find a date to than a destination. wedding, but.
Starting point is 00:27:55 Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know. Amy, this girl just said, so it's like, hey, I'll go with you. I sent your Instagram page. Oh, she's very pretty. Oh, my. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:06 Dang, you move on quick from Morgan number two. This is for the wedding this weekend? Yeah. Is she a model? Yeah, bring her bones. Oh, yeah, bring that. No, don't say that. Don't say that.
Starting point is 00:28:19 Make everything creepy. No, I'd bring that girl. Wait, stop that girl. That girl, he said. Wait, what? How do you know this person? Yeah, how do you know her? How do you know her?
Starting point is 00:28:30 You need to know her better. I'm looking at a picture of her and a boy. I know that's just a... Who is that? Is that her brother? Yep. Who cares who it is? If she wants to go to a wedding with him, bring it.
Starting point is 00:28:41 He's in one picture, Amy. Don't matter. Yep. He's irrelevant. What do you think about that, Amy? Yeah. Is she a model? Or does she just model on her Instagram?
Starting point is 00:28:52 She's a model, I think. I mean, she's pretty enough. to be a model. She should be a model. She's not sign her. She likes the beach, too. Yeah, she likes bikinis. What's her regimen? Get your hand off my computer. I got a seat over there.
Starting point is 00:29:06 Oh, this is cute. Yeah, it is. Which outfit are you looking at? Which bikini? I think it's an outdoor voices outfit. Oh, my God. I recognize it because I think I have the same sports for all. It does not look like that on me. So hold it. So lunchbox, if Bones takes her to the wedding, you think Bown chika psal. Wait, Bobby. Are you? Oh, I have these boots.
Starting point is 00:29:24 Oh my gosh, I can be friends with her. Oh, boy. So she's one of the people that message you saying I don't have a bachelor party in Iceland that weekend. Yeah, like being funny. Yeah. Hold on. Well, first of all, that's funny, which is a good sign. This is what she said.
Starting point is 00:29:39 Hold on. She said. Now, this is what she said. Hold on. She said, I'm free Friday at four. And you reply. Lock it in. Do you want to know what I replied, really?
Starting point is 00:29:54 Oh, don't tell me you blew it. Yeah, I want to know. Did you make a joke? No, I just asked a real question. I said, do you dance, though? Oh, that's a good one, actually. Not well, but I can give him my best shot. Oh, and there's flirting going on, guys.
Starting point is 00:30:11 Why are you play by playing? Yeah, the conversation. He's doing play by play. Okay, I mean, is it not flirting back and play? So you don't know her other than this, like, direct message? or something? No, no, I've met her a few times. Oh. Oh, I missed that part. Sorry. I mean, I don't know her, nowhere. We've never hung out, but I know her from the gym.
Starting point is 00:30:34 Like, the boxing gym? Yeah. Well. Is that she boxes? Is that what she does? It's about time you get to nowhere outside of the gym. It's so funny you say that. Like, right when you said that, I just got to this page on her Instagram where she's a title. Like, literally. She's doing jump, big jump-up thingies on a... Yeah, she's very fit. Look at this one.
Starting point is 00:30:56 Oh, my God. Oh, yes. Stop. Yeah. She's chilling in Orlando there. What are we thinking? Amy. Is she like a trainer?
Starting point is 00:31:09 She's a model. Amy, who cares what she is? I'm trying to figure out what she does. It doesn't matter. Should I, what do you think? Amy, I don't know. Is it weird to take someone you just really don't know it all? I think you should do it.
Starting point is 00:31:19 Take her as your date to the wedding. Tell them, Amy. Tell them. Yeah, do it. Not because of what these guys are saying. But she seems cool. And, I mean, I think it would be fun and good for you. Yeah, good for you.
Starting point is 00:31:30 And I'll do some recon for you. I'll ask her some hidden questions. How, do we know how old she is? Doesn't matter. We don't. She's old enough to drink. What are you thinking about? Is she?
Starting point is 00:31:40 Double check. No, she looks. Is this the problem? Like, I'm not sure I have that bag. Should I really ask her to go? I like her. We have a lot of things in common. Why would you not?
Starting point is 00:31:56 I mean, because I don't want to get stuck with somebody. I don't know. Okay. If you're stuck with that, that's a pretty good stuff. With her. If you're stuck with her,
Starting point is 00:32:04 not that. That girl. Oh, you got another one. Yep. Yep. Yeah. I love Jackson Falls.
Starting point is 00:32:21 Okay, so are you messaging her right now? Yeah, I've done it right now. It's been quiet. What are you doing? He's messaging. her. What are you saying? Amy said to do it.
Starting point is 00:32:29 I trust Amy. Yeah, you should do it. Yeah, of course. Trust Amy. Yep. All right. You guys shut up. You guys are going to be there, right?
Starting point is 00:32:37 Yes. All right. Can't wait to talk to her. If this works out, maybe she can go to the destination wedding. We're getting way ahead of ourselves. I'm going to ask her if she's free in November. Oh, my. Lunchbox.
Starting point is 00:32:47 Look at this one. Oh, my goodness. You guys have to stop. I'm done with this. Oh, that's the best one for sure. Which one? Bo show. Seaside.
Starting point is 00:32:55 She's in Seaside. Wow Ray Enough Like Ray Wants me to take the computer Of the glass room Enough
Starting point is 00:33:03 All right All right Hey Close that one on your Instagram She uses his vital proteins too Okay She's very pretty Bones
Starting point is 00:33:13 So whatever you want to do man I'm sure Yeah she's got a great personality too I don't even notice she was pretty I just noticed Stop it shut up Stop That's the dumbest thing you've ever said
Starting point is 00:33:24 All right Oh my back hurts. Your neck, your back? My back. My neck. Say my neck. My back.
Starting point is 00:33:33 Is it hot in here? All right, you two, perms. We're going to go. That's Eddie. That's not me. Why are you going to want but me in that category? Because you were saying that and, oh. All right, we're done.
Starting point is 00:33:44 We spent a lot of time here just hanging out. I hope you guys have a good day. Everybody here. We're going to start today's show. And tell that girl. Tell your girl. I'll see your Friday. I will not.
Starting point is 00:33:53 I will not. And I don't even know that it's going to work out. But we'll see it. We'll see it happens. All right. Thank you all. And here's today's show. Away we go.

And once you play, you're going to love it. One of the reasons we love it on the show is because it's just so much fun. You don't even need Wi-Fi to play,

Starting point is 00:34:59 Friends Without the R. Best Fiends. Folks, it's your buddy and mine. Mr. Bobby Bones. Good morning. Well, well, here we are. I think we have a good show today because Dustin Lynch will be by and we're a few hours out, but
Starting point is 00:35:22 I like that dude. He's got that Yep, yep song. He's got I got a good girl. He got, yeah. He got Small Town Boy, which is a jam. The question is, Is he hot? Or is he
Starting point is 00:35:40 Classically good looking Or we'll talk about that later. Okay. Because I know how you girls like to gossip. And by you girls, I mean me. Exactly. Morning Studio. Morning!
Starting point is 00:35:50 Sorry. Listen, I came across the story before I came on the air. A woman gave birth to twins, which isn't super crazy, right? No, it happens. A lot of twins. And each one has a different father.
Starting point is 00:36:01 One from her husband and one from a guy she was cheating with. Oh. How? She has two uteruses? And that's possible. it's a rare medical phenomenon called Busted
Starting point is 00:36:12 Heterio paternal super festidation She gave her up the twin boys Her husband goes One of them looks a lot like me The other one does not So he did a DNA test Oh wow
Starting point is 00:36:29 What? I mean why would you even think I would just think okay wow that's just crazy Because they're twins They're born at the same time Yeah, what about the timing of that too? He found out that he was the father of one of them, but not the other. So he goes to his wife and he's like, uh, DNA don't match. 23 of me, nope, nope, says it don't match.
Starting point is 00:36:50 And she said, yeah, I had an affair. And so it's all possible. The woman releases two eggs at the same time. The sperm from one man fertilizes while sperm from a different man fertilizes the other egg. So you got two eggs both getting rocked. And they both made it into the universe. What are the odds of that? I'm glad you asked.
Starting point is 00:37:08 Scientists say the odds of it happening are extremely low. One study found happens in less than 3% of paternity suits involving twins. That being said, that's a lot. Wow. I know. I feel like that's high. I feel like this should be the first case ever known demand. But, I mean, they have a name for it.
Starting point is 00:37:24 So, I mean, it's happened. The guy is not happy he beat the odds. Which one? Yeah. Well, I would assume both of them are loy irritated. but the guy only wants to raise his kid and not the one that's not his kid. Such a bummer. Well, let me say this, Amy.
Starting point is 00:37:42 Okay. Fair to have that visceral reaction. Well, because the kids didn't do anything wrong. Exactly. But, I mean, I guess does that kid go live with the other guy? Here's the thing. I don't know that I'm staying with her anymore. And if you're not staying with her, why would you be raising the other kid?
Starting point is 00:37:55 So then they're both. I don't know. Exactly. Jerry. Jayree. Exactly. A lot of thinking to do about this one. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:02 Yeah. So I saw that this morning. morning. I mean, they were they like, they must have looked really different, like different races or something. That's when you know. For two babies to come out as twins and for someone to go, that don't look like me. Right.
Starting point is 00:38:16 That's what I'm saying. It was like totally different color. Yeah. That's good. Or like. Yeah. Yeah. All right.
Starting point is 00:38:26 One comes out, Eddie. One comes out, Bobby. Okay. But Eddie and aren't that different. No. We're actually very alike. Eddie, our video producer's Mexican. and I'm super white, but do we not all bleed the same red blood?
Starting point is 00:38:39 No, we do. And if you put a picture of both of us side to side, you can't tell the difference. Well, I think if baby Eddie came out with a beard like Eddie has, that'd be trouble. Everyone's going to start the show. We've got a good one today. I don't say that every day, but today I mean it. Good. Glad you feel it.
Starting point is 00:38:56 Thank you. Here's the Bobby Bones Show podcast, highlight segment of the day. Lunchbox, what kind of event did you have yesterday? It was a grand opening for a planet fitness. And so you gave away a big prize? Yeah, there was a 55-inch TV was the grand prize that you won at the end. How'd they win it? They just had to fill out a little ticket at the front, put it in the bucket, and we draw your name.
Starting point is 00:39:19 So then do you do the drawing? I do the drawing. And so we've given it away small prizes like, oh, here's a shirt. Here's an autographed shirt from the Nashville Predators, things like that. and so this lady won an autographed shirt. Yay! And then I draw the grand prize, 55-inch TV, and I go, Marriola is the winner.
Starting point is 00:39:43 And this lady, she screams, and she comes running up there. And it's the same lady that won the autographed shirt. I'm not supposed to put her name back in the bucket. I put it back in the bucket instead of the trash. No. And I was just like, uh-oh. Uh-oh. So did you try to just play it off and give her the TV?
Starting point is 00:40:04 No, because the planet fitness employees were like, the head people were like, she can't win again. She can't win again. They can only win once. And I was like, actually, Mariela, you don't win the TV. I can give you a CD as a prize. And so how, how was she feeling about that? I mean, I think she was pretty down.
Starting point is 00:40:27 She was pretty down, but she didn't yell and scream. like I probably would have, but she was like, okay, okay, I got an autographed shirt earlier, that's okay, but I don't win the TV and I was like, you don't win the TV. And so I gave her a CD, I gave her a Jared Neiman CD and a Marin Moore CD and said, sorry. Was it the new one? Was it at least a new one. A hero. The old one. It's still a good CD though.
Starting point is 00:41:00 I mean, you have to think, like, Jared Neiman has to put out new music in years, and then a Marin Morris from three years ago either. That's all I had. That's all I had. That's all I could go to. When you from your car? No, they were on the table. They were prizes. I mean, that's all I had.
Starting point is 00:41:19 And I just, I felt so bad. I felt like Steve Harvey felt when he announced the wrong winner of that Miss America pageant. Okay, drama. Wait, so what happened with the next person? You draw another name? Yes, I drew another name in some way. Lady won. She goes, oh, yay!
Starting point is 00:41:34 She was so excited. And she walked out with the TV in front of the other lady. Oh. Oh, that hurts. That's brutal. But, I mean, if she knows she only put her name in there once and that her name was drawn and she knows lunchbox accidentally put it back in. I mean, she knows she didn't win.
Starting point is 00:41:49 The lunchbox's life rule is if somebody messes up, you should still get it. Remember if, like, a casino mess up a slot machine or, like, lunchbox in the bank? So it sounds like lunchbox owes her a TV. I think so, too. Whoa! Like you messed up. You give it to her. Right.
Starting point is 00:42:03 I did mess up. I did mess up. It was my fault. But, boy, I was ready to get out of there. I was like, woo! Let's hurry up and go. Let's wrap this up. Has the bank, by the way,
Starting point is 00:42:14 asked for that money back they gave you to the extra money? No, $700 still in my account, boys and girls. Actually, it's not my count. It's spent on plane tickets. Money's gone. Sorry. He set them up. I know.
Starting point is 00:42:26 The Bobby Bones show. Big three stories. Our producer Raimundo from the glass room with news. Ramundo, what you got? In Washington State, that teen who is video chubbing her friend off a bridge into the water below is going to spend two days in jail and served 38 days on a work crew. In sports, March Madness gets back underway tonight. Games started around 6 p.m. Central.
Starting point is 00:42:47 And finally, in lottery news, that $768 million winning ticket was sold in Wisconsin, 20 minutes outside of Milwaukee. The Bobby Bone Show. I get to know the Bobby Bone Show. The question is, What's your favorite smell? All the smells and all the world. What's your favorite smell?
Starting point is 00:43:06 Because I was reading this. I was debating. And it's, here are my two, as I talk it out. It was either a fried chicken. Oh, that's a good smell. Like frying? Yeah. Yeah, because my grandmother used to fry chicken.
Starting point is 00:43:17 Yeah. It was so good. I smell it right now. Right? Oh, it's so good. Or, like, fresh leather on a baseball glove. It's a good smell, too. Because both of those were, like, resonated with me.
Starting point is 00:43:29 A lot of ball growing up. Yeah. But I think I'd go, just because my favorite smell is probably because my grandmother raised me and adopted me and was that really strong influence on my life. I think I'd go fried chicken because of my grandmother. She would get all the, she'd lay all the flour out. I mean, and it would just sizzle. In this frying pan, she had the same frying pan for like 100 years. So I'm going to go with my grandma frying chicken.
Starting point is 00:43:54 So any fried chicken, I think, is my favorite smell. Hmm, interesting. Get to know the Bobby Bowen Show, Amy, your favorite smell. Mine is freshly baked cookies. It's delicious. And it can either be like cookies that are baking right now in my house or I buy like a cookie candle. Like whatever.
Starting point is 00:44:09 Whatever that smell is, I love it. So good. Why is, what does that have to do with, do you know? I don't know. I mean, we used to always have stuff baking at my house. I mean, both my parents, like, cooked it a lot and baked a lot. But it could be that or just I love it. Like, if I get cookie candles on sale or Yankee or whatever, I'm all in.
Starting point is 00:44:30 Would you call me? No, Yankee candle. Lunchbox, your favorite smell? Oh, man, this is easy. This is a man thing. You get the lawnmower out, you cut the grass, and when you get done, that fresh cut grass smell in your nose is just like heaven on earth. Woo, I love that smell.
Starting point is 00:44:48 It reminds me, I used to mow yards. I'd walk around hustle yards and mow yards. That smell to me is kind of like, reminds me of that. Oh, it reminds you a work. Yeah. It reminds you of your hustle. Like you started out? No, no, I'm running that every morning.
Starting point is 00:44:58 I'm like, I'm like, get over, Bobby. Take a break. But it's a good smell. It reminds me of like summer. Yeah. But for me, it reminds me of like mowing yards. Oh, I'm sorry, man. No, no, no, not a bad thing.
Starting point is 00:45:09 I didn't mean to bring up a bathroom. It doesn't smell good though. Yeah, okay. Eddie, what do you about you? Are video producer Eddie? When I'm in the backyard and I smell someone starting up a barbecue pit, like, oh, someone's cooking out. I can smell it.
Starting point is 00:45:22 Oh, that is the best smell ever. And I think it goes back to my. My dad, that's all he did. He barbecued. And when he'd start up that grill, it's like, all right. So our smells are, me fried chicken, Amy, cookies, lunchbox, freshly-mowed grass. I think the grass was a big one for a lot of people, though. And gasoline.
Starting point is 00:45:41 No one would mention that, but top three gasoline. Eddie, starting up the grill. There you have it. Gasoline. You don't like to smell a gas? No. It does oddly smell really good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:51 Like, I, yeah. You sniff it? I'd be like, I used to work in a marina. and I pump gas on boats all the time and always smelled like gas. And I like that smell. I do not. I don't want gas on me
Starting point is 00:46:03 when it gets on me and I smell it. I don't like the smell of freshly cut grass. What about coffee? Ew. Oh, my God. Oh, Hater. I know. I know.
Starting point is 00:46:11 Dang. All right, there you go. That is good to know the Bobby Bone show here. On the Bobby Bone show now. Cassie Ashton. Hey, Cassie. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:46:20 What's happening with you? Oh, I'm at home. What time do you wake up in the morning? normally? Like seven without an alarm. Wow. Okay, so you're early. What's up with that? I would wake up at noon if I could. What's up with 7 a.m.?
Starting point is 00:46:37 I just have a lot of energy and I can only sleep so long, I guess. I don't know. You know, I have you on because I think your new song is so good. I was instant storing about it. I was sharing it with all my people. So Cassie has this song. It's called Pretty Shiny Things. I'm going to play a little over here. shiny things Mama loves Pretty shiny things As long as they look good
Starting point is 00:47:04 On the outstile Tell me about this song Cassie This song It was like kind of A middle of the night You wake up from something And you just like can't go back to sleep And you have to get it out
Starting point is 00:47:17 And I went to the piano At the end of my bed And wrote part of it And then was obviously You know all in my field And I sent it to my best friend At the time Emily Landis and she sent it back to me finished.
Starting point is 00:47:30 And it's kind of the song that's like a very rare piece of me and it got me my publishing deal. And it just since I wrote it has always taught me that like I should be honest and it's okay to share a piece of myself with everyone because everyone goes through kind of rough things that they wish that they could talk about this way. And do you write it, you know, the story, I guess, from like your mom's perspective a bit?
Starting point is 00:47:55 Yeah, a bit or me just kind of thing. what she used to say. That's good. I'm going to play it here. I just wanted to get you on and kind of hear the story about the song and tell everybody how big a fan I am of it. And I like when people say they woke up and wrote things in the middle of the night too. Like for some reason, I love those stories where someone wakes up it goes, I just woke up, next thing you know, I wrote Hamilton. I'm like, what crazy? You wrote Hamilton?
Starting point is 00:48:18 It's from waking up from a nap. But this is at Cassie Ashton, K-A-S-S-I-A-Shton on Instagram. This is pretty shiny things. and I want to play it for you now, and I'm glad that she woke up and talked to us. And Cassie, we will see you around here real soon, okay? Yes, thank you for having me. All right, there's she. The latest from Nashville and Hollywood.
Starting point is 00:48:38 Morgan No. 2's 32nd Skinny. Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher shared a cute photo of their son, Isaiah, on social media. He snuck out of bed and fell asleep under a table while he was spying on his mom and dad. Amy, your kid spy on you? I don't think so. But, yeah, I mean, I guess I wouldn't know. I guess they've stayed awake and then gone back to their room before they got busted. Or are they just over it already?
Starting point is 00:49:03 They're just like, I've seen enough of mom. Yeah, probably. I mean, my door is shut. They can't come in until unless they knock, especially in the mornings. If Stevenson wakes up before we do, he has to stay in his room and play with toys until mom and dad wake. He's like morning jail. Well, yeah, Bobby. Because then, otherwise, if he has free rain, he'll show up at 5 a.m.
Starting point is 00:49:23 And be like, good morning. I mean, on a Saturday, which is not cool. When Mike D was living with me, that's what is our rule too. Mike, do you stay in your room? Good morning. Until daddy wakes up. Morgan number two, what else you got? After two decades together, Eli Young Band is releasing an album featuring all of their
Starting point is 00:49:40 greatest hits called This Is Eli Young Band. It will feature fan favorites and two newer songs, not on any previous albums. Greatest hits things are always weird to me now because you can already get all the songs pretty easily. You know, if you stream or download. You can make your own playlist. Easily. I understood greatest tits in like 1997. And you know. That's basically the year I had my George Strait box set.
Starting point is 00:50:06 Yeah. And you needed them all at the same time. I don't know. I wonder if anything's happening with them because when Jake Owen did it, he was just putting out a record to get out of his record deal. His last one? Because he owed them one more record because he wanted to go to his new record label. So he's like, okay, fine.
Starting point is 00:50:18 Here's my greatest hits. I don't know that they're doing that. But greatest hits are always weird to me. What else, Morgan number two? Well, speaking of Jake Owen, he said that his six-year-old daughter, Pearl, is starting to realize that her dad is famous, but he's trying to educate her on what's real. She's understanding and watching everything I do a lot more. And it's really important for me to teach her as a father that, you know, that life that dad's living out here on the road and this whole, like, celebrity thing isn't, that's not reality. There you go.
Starting point is 00:50:48 All right. Is that it, Morgan number two? Yep, I'm Morgan number two. That's your skin. It's time for the good. news. With Amy. Tell me something good. So thanks to mandatory CPR training, a teacher was able to save a student's life. Like a couple years ago, she wouldn't have known CPR because it wouldn't have been mandatory.
Starting point is 00:51:05 But I guess a couple years ago, a student collapsed on the track, like practicing while running, and his life was saved. So then boom, everyone at school had to get the training. It's because she teaches, like, family and consumer sciences. Which you wouldn't normally need CPR. She would not like the PE coach or anything. Well, one of her students started. choking and it took nearly 20 attempts at the Heinleck maneuver.
Starting point is 00:51:29 Wow, they stayed on it. But the food finally dislodged, which made me think, okay, like if I ever have to do the Heinlech, you don't give up. Don't give up, you know? Because you might feel like, ugh, like, okay. I tried it once. Not once. That's a wrap.
Starting point is 00:51:45 20 times. I'm tired. Those CPR stores, they go for like two hours, they save them. Those are always crazy to me too. Yeah. Yeah, good for her. Keep going. And then shout out for that school for, you know, in 2015 implementing it.
Starting point is 00:51:58 Yeah, that's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. Bobid Bones Show. Bonehead. Norrie of the day. This story comes to us from Pennsylvania. A man really wanted two beers, but the gas station was closed. He's like, what am I going to do?
Starting point is 00:52:14 Got it. Rebs the car up, boom, crashes it into the store. Causes $15,000 of damage, goes in, gets his two beers, and leaves. The only problem is he left his license plate behind Well probably he's on camera too, right? Yeah. All the above. Not the only problem.
Starting point is 00:52:31 I don't like there are a lot of problems. But he literally only took two beers. He had to be drunk, right? Yeah, they think alcohol was a factor. In many ways. Most of the time, boneheads have been drinking. Yeah, I think so. What do you think the ratio is of boneheads
Starting point is 00:52:43 where they've been drinking? I hope they've been drinking because in other times I'm just like, well, I don't know. Something's not right. I'm lunchbox. That's your bonehead story of the day. So, Amy, who played Dr. Derek Shepard in Grey's Anatomy? Well, that's Dr. McDreamy, and it was played by Patrick Dempsey.
Starting point is 00:53:12 He's not on the show anymore. Okay, so that role wasn't offered to him at first. It was actually offered and turned down by Rob Lowe. Oh, okay. Which I think would have worked. I think so. Yeah, I think you're right. It's hard to picture it now because Dr. McDreamy is Patrick Dempsey, but I can see it working.
Starting point is 00:53:32 These are all TV and movie roles rejected by other actors. So I mean, Roblo was like, nah, pass. Yes, that's exactly what happened. Wow, because, I mean, Gray's Anatomy is still on the air. I mean, they killed Dr. Medriamie off, but... He said that... Yeah, but those shows still air, you're right. He said, I turned down Graze Anatomy to play McDreamy.
Starting point is 00:53:50 He said that probably cost me $70 million. Wow. Because of all the money that Patrick Dempsey made. Wow. Here's another one. Before the movie went to Engley to direct Brokeback Mountain, because that's who ended up doing it. The old director had been working on the project in its early stages, and they offered the Heath Ledger role to Leonardo DiCaprio. I could totally see that.
Starting point is 00:54:11 Which would have worked. Totally would have worked. Yeah. Yeah. That made me want to go to the mountains, oddly. So Leonardo DiCaprio turned it down? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:23 Like, I'll watch that and I was like, I like to go up to mountains. Mm-hmm. and go camping? Just sometimes you see a movie. Like a lot of my life vacations, because I've been, you know, I've been single for a long time. I just went to places I would see in TV shows and movies. Like when I went to Hawaii the first time,
Starting point is 00:54:38 it was because the Brady Bunch went to Hawaii. I was like, I got to go there. That time I went to London, first time I ever left America, I went because friends went to London. So I saw Brokeback Mountain, not because of the love affair. I was like, that looks fun to go hang out up there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:53 Get on a horse. Yeah, there you go. Legally blonde. Who would they have offered it to besides Reese Witherspoon? They actually offered it to another blonde who played kind of a dumb blonde on a TV show. I don't think you know the TV show. That was Christina Applegate, Married with Children. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:14 I didn't really watch that, but of course I know Christina Applegate. Oh, wow. Okay, but that would work, I think. The Matrix with Keanu Reeves. Okay. They offered it to Will Smith. What it worked. Totally.
Starting point is 00:55:27 And I love Keanu Reeves. I love the John Wick movies. I love Bill and Ted. But they offered it to Will Smith. What it worked. And here you go. Can I get a drum roll please on this one? This is Forrest Gump.
Starting point is 00:55:36 Ooh, I want to hear this. This person was offered the role of Forrest Gump before Tom Hanks. But he turned it down to make another movie. Then the two movies went against each other at the 1995 Oscars where Forrest Gump won six awards compared to this other movie's one award. Now, when I give you those clues and hints, who do you think it is? I, um, Denzel Washington. Okay. Eddie, are you changing?
Starting point is 00:56:06 Are you staying with, who'd you guess, Eddie? Well, I said John Travolta, but after saying that, I'm thinking Shawshank Redemption was the big, like, movie that was together with Forrest Gump. So I'm going to, what's Tim Robbins? Okay, you're changing from John Travolta and Tim Robbins? Amy's going to Denzel Washington. I forgot who I guess way earlier, but, yeah. Well, originally off for the role of Forrest Gump? was John Travolta.
Starting point is 00:56:27 Oh, I'm so dumb! That would not have worked. Yes, it would have. No. We only know it because Tom Hanks was masterful in it, but just because we know him as they both would have done a great job. What was the other movie that went against Forrest Gump? Pulp Fiction.
Starting point is 00:56:43 Oh, wow. Anyway, I like that segment, right? Yeah. That's pretty good. Starting point is 01:01:07 And she has this new song out, and I'll talk about that in a second. But it's all about her husband cheating on her. And she talks about how he, like, admitted to it right before she went on stage to do a show. This is that clip. This is the really sucky part, Bobby, is I had to go play a show. 20 minutes after I found out everything, I had to go freaking play a show in Orlando, Florida. Like, I'll never forget that because I was just like, how do I wrap up all these emotions and then go play a show? She found out because one of her friends was like, you should probably check his phone bill because he was acting.
Starting point is 01:01:39 And she did. And then she confronted them. Yeah, and then she had to go work. Yeah, well, she got online and saw the numbers. It's all in the Bobbycasts And they're together now And they've been through a lot And they're on the good side of it
Starting point is 01:01:53 But she put out that song Beautiful Lies And then Because I know Jana well And by the end of it She's talking about me dating And this is her telling me What I need to do
Starting point is 01:02:02 In order to find a girl Here you go You gotta lower your standards Why would I lower my standards You're out of your mind You think you're gonna find The perfect person No there's not a such thing
Starting point is 01:02:11 But I think I can find The perfect person for me Fine I can agree with that But I just think You need to be more aggressive event because if not you're going to constantly be on Twitter being like hey slide into my DM.
Starting point is 01:02:22 Okay. Is that you on Twitter? No, it's not. Then we go into the whole thing. She's like, you're just not aggressive enough with girls. Like you're always like, oh, do maybe you like me? She was like, you just have to go and be like, hey, you. I like you.
Starting point is 01:02:37 Let's go on a date. Does she know that you texted that one girl and you're like, look, I'm going to be pretty busy coming up, so are we dating or nah? That's not what happened exactly. and she doesn't know that. Anyway, that's up. Search for episode 168 of the Bobbycast with Jana Kramer
Starting point is 01:02:54 and play me a little bit of beautiful eyes. Her new song, Raimundo. There you go. Amy, that's a boyfriend's cheated on you, huh? Yeah. High school, oh, no, college freshman year. One. Oh, just one?
Starting point is 01:03:20 Yeah. How'd you find out? Oh, he called me. When he was leaving my house, he called her, but accidentally called me and then asked for her and then my mom was like, and you're so dumb. Oh, well, that was the same guy,
Starting point is 01:03:33 but different girl. The other time was when I went over to his house to get something and I left something over there and then I went back, but I was friends with his roommates, like, actually grew up with his roommates. So like, I would just walk in and be like, hey, guys, whatever.
Starting point is 01:03:46 And then they were kind of like, and then the other girl was there. But, I mean, but I don't know. I mean, maybe in his mind we weren't really, No, we were together. I need to stop, like, making excuses. I just always found a way to justify it. Why are you making excuses right now?
Starting point is 01:04:03 I know, but that's why I was, I know, because, no, I'm going back to my brain then because it happened to me twice with him. And that's why it happened two different times because it was, I let it happen. And so I don't want to prod too much if you're not comfortable, Morgan number two, but how did you find out your last boyfriend cheated on you? Well, I don't have confirmation on my last, but I have a situation that I had already kind of assumed something happened and a mutual friend of ours kind of confirmed that for me. I don't have a confirmation from him though. You don't have video? No, I don't have video. I didn't see
Starting point is 01:04:36 it with my own two eyes, but I do have a pretty good idea that something happened. Guys are shady. Time now for our game of riddles we call riddle me this. They're kids riddles. How many can you get? Amy, you're up first. Okay. Riddle me this. What is always in front of you, but can't be seen. Just Amy here. What is always in front of you. Amen. Wow, but can't be seen.
Starting point is 01:05:12 Amy, riddle me this. Your future. Got it. Wow, she's on the door. She's good. Lunchbox. Yeah. Riddle me this.
Starting point is 01:05:23 What has a tongue but cannot talk? What gets around a lot but cannot walk? What has a tongue but cannot talk? What gets around the lot but cannot walk? Riddle me this lunchbox. Oh yeah, it's your shoe. You almost have that. I know, but then I remember.
Starting point is 01:05:48 Eddie, come on. Our video producer Eddie over there. Riddle me this. I am an ancient invention that allows people to see through walls. When am I? I'm an ancient invention that allows people to see through walls. An ancient invention. What am I?
Starting point is 01:06:13 Oh my gosh. An x-ray machine. Oh. It's so dumb. Anybody know? I got a guess. A people. No, a window.
Starting point is 01:06:23 Oh, I'm sorry. Oh, goodness. Back around we go to Amy Riddleby, this. What connects two people, but touches only one. Amy, I'm coming over to you. What connects two people but touches only one. What connects two people but touches only one? Your answer?
Starting point is 01:06:57 What connects two people? Yep. What connects two people? Incorrect. Telephone. No. A wedding ring. Oh.
Starting point is 01:07:07 You both have to be on telephone. Yeah. It's on one day. There you go. All right. Sorry. Huh? I still don't get it.
Starting point is 01:07:13 The ring connects people. Like, you are the ring because you're married. You're married. Oh, okay. But it only touches one. Okay, I was thinking one, okay, but two, okay. These are hard. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:22 Lunchbox. Yeah. Three eyes have I all in a row. When the red one opens, no one can go. What am I? What? Wait. What?
Starting point is 01:07:38 Three eyes have I? All in a row. When the red one opens, no one can go. The red one? What am I? The red one. Three eyes have I? Three eyes.
Starting point is 01:07:54 All in a row. But when the red one opens, no one can go. Just give up lunchbox. Riddle me this. But a red one opens, no one can go. Stop light. What? Wow.
Starting point is 01:08:14 I don't you understand it. What are the eyes? Nailed it. Red, yellow, green on top of each other. Oh my gosh. I was trying to spell stoplight in my head. I'm going, well, there's no three eyes in rows at Mississippi. That doesn't have three eyes in a row.
Starting point is 01:08:26 Wow. Good guess. Eddie. Come on. What goes up, but never comes back down. You riddle me this. What goes up? But never comes back down.
Starting point is 01:08:43 Can you get that riddle? Yeah, it goes up. I got it. It's your age. I'm sorry. Amy. Not doing very well. Oh, I mean, I'm doing better than Eddie.
Starting point is 01:09:12 Thank you, Amy. Yeah, but he's got none. Are you ready? Yeah. When I point up, it's bright. When I point down, it's dark. What am I? Riddle me this, boom.
Starting point is 01:09:30 When I point up, it's bright. When I point down, it's dark. What am I? Paint up. I point up. The end of the clock, no. That can be all kinds of days. Headlights.
Starting point is 01:09:51 When I point up. When I point up, it's what? Five seconds. Say it again, say it again. When I point up, it's bright. When I point down, it's dark. Flashlight? A light switch.
Starting point is 01:10:06 Oh, gosh. Down. That was a good one. Lunchbox, if you get this one, you are the winner. That can I catch you, you'll have clenched. Are you ready? Oh, I like clenching. For riddle me this.
Starting point is 01:10:19 Yeah. What tire does not move when a car turns right? You got a car, you're driving? What tire doesn't move when a car turns right? What tire... For the wind. Does not move right. Wait, say it again.
Starting point is 01:10:41 What tire does not move when a car turns right. I mean, the spare tire. He's good. He's good. Yeah! He's ready. Yeah. That's his game.
Starting point is 01:10:55 That guy. You're good at this game, dude. Yeah, he is. He is, he is. And they stay there! And they stay there! I'm ready. I'm ready.
Starting point is 01:11:12 I'm ready. You get to do your victory song. I'm ready. You get to do your victory song. Go ahead. Man, guys, that is riddle me there. He is the best of this game. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:29 You're good at kids riddles, dude. He's good. He's good. Eddie, you got none right. Nothing. Oh, my gosh. Bobby Bones show. The Bavit Bones show.
Starting point is 01:11:39 Here's Amy's pile of stories. So Mozart may make ibuprofen more effective. Pain pills worked better when taken while listening to music, this study set. So I'm like, if you're a lot of pain and your headache's not going away, you might as well try this. Because, yeah, it could help reduce the amount of time you're dealing with pain. Okay.
Starting point is 01:12:00 I would say. that it's pretty much any music that would take your heart rate down. Because think about this. Your heart rate pounds when you have a headache, your head pounds. Like that's where it's coming from. Oh. So any sort of meditation type sound, I do believe Advil or not, is going to help you if it's a headache, if it's whatever you're dealing with.
Starting point is 01:12:22 Because it's slowing down your heart. Like if you have an injury, you can get your heart to slow down? It's going to stop pumping blood of that injury too if it just happens. Really? I mean, I guess that makes sense. Especially if it's like a new injury. So when I cut my finger, if I listen to Mozart, the blood's going to stop gushing out. I mean, good luck.
Starting point is 01:12:40 I dealt with that the other day. It would not stop bleeding. What happened to your hand? I was just in the kitchen. Oh, that's your story? So how'd you cut yourself? You know, me, I'm in the kitchen. I was chopping up.
Starting point is 01:12:52 I don't know if it's an apple or a bell pepper, one of those two. And I always tell the kids to be so careful when they're doing stuff. And then I did it. And I screamed to grab my hand. and the kids were like, oh, mom, you're supposed to be careful when you're chopping stuff. I would even go to say any sort of pain, emotional pain, physical pain, if you can take some music or anything, even sounds. Yeah, it'll help. Yeah, what else you got, Amy?
Starting point is 01:13:19 So KFC, they have their secret recipe and it's been on lockdown for decades, but they are opening up 300 people to this open kitchen event that they're having. and they're going to teach people how to make their KFC fried chicken. So I don't know. People are saying that you better head to the internet right after this goes down because those 300 people might be able to share it. Or do you think they have to sign a non-disclosure agreement or something? One of two things are happening. One, either they kind of want it to get out at this point.
Starting point is 01:13:47 Yeah, because I mean. Right. Or two, if it is a secret, they will have everybody so locked down legally that if they do share something, it's over. Like they'll just, they probably put something inside of them that if they tell, they die immediately. Oh, yeah, 11 herbs and spices. Hey, Eddie, did you go to the Taco Bell test kitchen with me?
Starting point is 01:14:05 I did. That was amazing. We went, speaking of this, Eddie and I went, because, listen, I love Taco Bell. Don't eat it every day, obviously, but I love crunchy tacos from Taco Bell. And we go to the Taco Bell test kitchen, and you're basically sitting there, and there's a little thing that opens, like a slide, and this food comes through that no one has yet, they're just testing it, and you just testing it. and you sit and you eat all the new food. And then you go into this other room and it's like the slushy room. And it's all the flavors of slushy that don't exist yet. It's amazing.
Starting point is 01:14:36 Yeah, that's cool. We tried all the slushes before they even came out. Yeah, we're cool. Did you feel like you, did you all have to sign something? No. They didn't chip you? They didn't know. This is pre-chip.
Starting point is 01:14:48 All right, what else? So of all the online movie services, who do you think came out on top with having the best selection? I'm talking like, let's just go with H-R-Tip. HBO, Hulu, Amazon, Netflix. Movies. Movies they made themselves or movies they have from? Movies available.
Starting point is 01:15:06 I think Netflix is the easy answer, so it's not Netflix. I'm going to just play the game where I walk it back. Am I right about that, Amy? You're wrong. Oh. Is it Netflix? Yeah, Netflix came out on top. And I actually have some friends that still don't have a Netflix account.
Starting point is 01:15:24 And I thought, what? Yeah, I have a lot of friends that don't have Netflix account. I know. I guess we just, we live in this place. It reminded me that you and I, like on the show, we talk about Netflix so much that it reminded me that maybe there's a lot of people there that don't have it. But if you're looking for like who has quality movies, they don't have the most movies. But when it comes to quality, Netflix wins. I would say that our job requires us to be up to date on pop culture. So we have to have and watch things on Netflix.
Starting point is 01:15:54 And consume media so we can talk about it. recommend things to our listeners that maybe they don't have yet. Yeah, like I recommend you get Netflix. Yeah, there you go. All right, there it is, Amy. Yeah, that's my pile. That was Amy's pile of stories. It's time for the good news.
Starting point is 01:16:12 With lunchbox. Tell me something good. Anthony is 15 years old. He lives in New Jersey. He's walking home from school. Probably singing, it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. And he hears something. He's like, where's that coming from?
Starting point is 01:16:27 That's down in the sewer. pulls off the lid, jumps down in the sewer, and what's he fine down there? Peanut, a 16-year-old blind chihuahua had fallen down into the sewer, and the owner had been looking for three days. Couldn't find peanut, but Anthony, the hero, saved peanut. Wow. A lot of good parts of the story.
Starting point is 01:16:47 One, I love that kids are still walking down the street singing Mr. Rogers. Oh, is that Mr. Rogers? Yeah. Oh, you made that part up? Yeah. Oh. I just said he was probably singing it's a beautiful day in the name. How about that dog?
Starting point is 01:16:59 You probably think he's gone. He's old, he's blind. Blind. He finds him. That's a good one. That's what it's all about right there. That was tell me something good. Folks, it's your buddy and my...
Starting point is 01:17:08 Mr. Bobby Bones. Let's go. Transmitting across America. It's not time for Amy's corny, the morning corny, but it's the investigative morning corny where we as a team, Lunchbox, Eddie and myself, try to figure out the joke live on the radio. Now, you get to hear blemishes and all. Like, we say everything. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:33 We've got three in a row. They said it couldn't be done. I was watching the critics. They said it couldn't be done. We proved them wrong. We proved them wrong. Yeah. The joke eaters are back.
Starting point is 01:17:43 To eat another one of your jokes, Amy. Yeah. Is that our name? Num, num, numb, numb. Are we in the joke eaters? I guess we are now. All right, Amy, are you ready? It's now time for the morning corny investigative.
Starting point is 01:17:56 The morning corny! Do you know the least spoken language in the world? Okay, do we know the least spoken language? in the world. Let's get the music up. Wait, that's the joke? Yeah, the least. So it'd be like none, quiet, silent, silent English. The least spoken? Mumglish. The least spoken. Sign language. I think that's a riddle, but I don't know if that's a joke. That's got to be it. That's it. Sign language so you don't speak it. I mean, that's the only thing I can come up with. But in the world. That fits. That nails it, but is it funny? Now we have to look at Amy here because that's not
Starting point is 01:18:30 that funny. I got to be honest with you. Yeah, it's not really that funny. That's a perfect answer. Perfect answer. It's funny if you say it right. Okay. So we got it. Saigon language. No, not no, no. It's a delivery.
Starting point is 01:18:43 Wait, are you telling us? It was more of a riddle. Was it a riddle, not a joke? Oh, man. Because, of course, lunchbox got it because he's so good at riddles. Don't give this guy riddle. But if you say, Amy, do you know the least... Here we go.
Starting point is 01:18:58 The morning corny. Do you know the least spoken language in the world? I don't know the least spoken language in the world. Sign language. There we go. That's right. Kiss my grits and call me Charlie. We got four in a row.
Starting point is 01:19:13 There we go. Kiss my grits. What? Don't worry about what the joke eaters do. That's our celebration. We got four in a row. Nice work. Nice work in a riddle.
Starting point is 01:19:23 Don't bring our boy a riddle. I know. Hey, clear eyes, full hearts. We can't lose. Oh, we're four in a row, Amy. Yeah! Wow. Eat those jokes.
Starting point is 01:19:37 Nom, num, num, num, num, num, num, num, num, num, giggle. Giggle, giggle. Yeah, yeah. Good job, guys. Now, does it get a clap for being funny? No, because it's a terrible joke. No offense. It's a terrible joke.
Starting point is 01:19:48 I still don't really get it. This is when I am wanting to test out, and since we're just kind of shooting the jokes. Go ahead. Go ahead. I don't even know the saying. We're just kind of, you know, messing around here with some jokes. Right. Tell me what you think of this one.
Starting point is 01:20:02 Go ahead. for giggles. Go ahead. Why did the magician have a sticky bicep? Why did the magician have a sticky bicep? He had a couple of twicks up his sleeve. Twicks. A sticky.
Starting point is 01:20:19 Sticky bicep. No, sticky. I was thinking candy bars. No, no. It is candy bars. Twicks. He had a couple of twicks up his sleeve. Like it's a play on tricks, but it's twigs.
Starting point is 01:20:28 No, it's twigs. No, it's twigs. A couple of twigs. No, it's twigs. No, Twix is candy because it's... Hey, regardless of what... We got throwing you off. Okay, yeah.
Starting point is 01:20:38 Come on. So I'm going to delete that one. Yeah, please do. All right. I'm looking at a picture of Trisha Yearwood wearing a Pimp and Joy shirt on Entertainment Tonight. Which is crazy. Love it.
Starting point is 01:20:51 So Pimp and Joy is, you know, that's something that means, you know, trying to find the joy wherever you are in your life. When things are good, what things are bad, within yourself for others. And we've been able to be. do a lot of good with our listeners with that. And we have these shirts, we don't keep a single scent from these shirts. And Trish Yearwood's wearing one of them on entertainment tonight, which was really cool. Amy, she's the coolest.
Starting point is 01:21:12 She came over to the house and did a Bobbycast, and you can search that up. And then I was with her in Garth in Vegas, you know, before and after the show. Yeah. And I don't think she would care if I tell the story. We were sitting back there and we're talking about something and she like hit her coffee and it spilled all over her. right? Like one of those where it's like it goes up in the air and comes down on you. And she goes, oh man, at least I smell good.
Starting point is 01:21:39 Takes paper towel, wiped a couple things off and just kept about her. She's the coolest. She's the coolest. She's the coolest. No big deal. Yeah. Like I want to be her friend. Mm-hmm. It's cool. It's good. The Bobby Bone Show is proud to be supported by Grand Canyon University, an affordable, private, non-profit Christian

Starting point is 01:25:38 of me in my entire life. I didn't talk a lot about it the last couple days and I've only ever spoken at one funeral and that was my mom's and when I was asked to speak I said yes
Starting point is 01:25:51 because this guy was very important in my life. So much I wrote about him in my first book his name was Jerry McGrew and I'm on the way there and, you know, Amy's my best friend. Amy sends me this really nice text. And it says, I would like to read it to you verbatim.
Starting point is 01:26:08 Says, hope things go well today. I know hard. Then the emoji that's laughing so hard that tears are coming out of the eyes. The laughing face emoji. That normally you say if you're LOL or ha ha ha ha. Or you say something funny. And then she goes, um, that was supposed to be a heart. Dang it.
Starting point is 01:26:26 Oh, okay. Like the heart and the smiling face, they were in my moose used and they were right next to each other. So I clicked the smiling, the laughing face. It just was awkward. Like, because I know Bobby was fine. Right. So it added humor. But it was like, I was sending a text to someone I didn't know very well and you send the wrong emoji.
Starting point is 01:26:44 It's like, ooh. She was like, I know this is hard. And that face is crying so hard he's laughing. He's laughing so hard he's crying. I'm like, sorry you're going to a funeral. Ha ha ha ha ha. I went and it was. So get this, Amy.
Starting point is 01:26:56 I go to this funeral, right? and not just going, but I'm speaking. And I thought I was going to be okay, because I was okay. And the one thing that I'm good at is talking, not just here on the show, but I do comedy. I do motivational talk. Like, I'm a speaker by trade. And I'm like, I can do this. And I go into, there are lots of rooms.
Starting point is 01:27:21 It was already kind of weird because that's where my mom's funeral was, same place. There are a lot of rooms where you can have the funeral. It was the same room as my mom's funeral. it was the same exact spot that I had to speak at my mom's funeral. Oh, wow. And so I was like, oh, so that hit. An extra layer. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:38 And then I walked up and I had written this speechish thing where I wanted to really tell some loving stories, but also some stories to make people appreciate and even laugh a little bit. Because I like that at funerals whenever there's a real warm. story. And so I was like, remember how awesome they were and there's, you know, and I can usually walk that line pretty well and go back and forth from, hey, this is very important, sad, and oh, this is funny, sad, but this is funny. And so I get up and I have my piece of paper. And I don't normally go with the paper, but my advice to anyone that's speaking, it's something that really matters is even if you think you can wing it, and I can't, I can wing like
Starting point is 01:28:24 crazy. I won't do it at a funeral because if you start to emotionally lose it, you can't wing while you're emotional. If you're emotional, you can look at that paper and try to drive through it. But if you're your head spinning, it's hard for you to catch where you're going. So I have this paper down and I open my mouth and I'm about to go and I lose it. I couldn't talk. And like I started crying as I was talking and I had to stop and take big breaths. And Evan, who was my best friend in high school, I looked at him and he was, I mean, I was not good. I was the trained speaker that they asked to come speak because I was very close to him and because I could do a good job and I couldn't talk.
Starting point is 01:29:04 I was so emotional I couldn't talk. I got through the speech and I had a couple really good stories but I was just rawly emotional the whole time and a little bit I was embarrassed not because I was emotional but because I didn't I wasn't that good. I don't think people had. put any expectations on you because you speak for a living. And I think it was real and authentic. And everybody was probably feeling what you were feeling.
Starting point is 01:29:35 And it's okay. They probably weren't thinking anything of it other than that you're up there just going through the same thing they're going through. And I bet like having to look at your friend, the son, like the guy that died, that would probably make me lose it. And then I wouldn't be able to finish. But I'm sure you did good. in people's minds
Starting point is 01:29:54 not in your mind I know you're hating on yourself but it was really tough the only way you made it through your mom's funeral was because that guy's cell phone rang the cell phone went off
Starting point is 01:30:05 yeah and so loud and it was like some song yeah and I just I can compartmentalize so well I'm so I can't I can go
Starting point is 01:30:18 I can shut it all down when things happen but I couldn't do it with my mom and I couldn't do it with him and yeah it was pretty brutal. I think it's actually good that you weren't able to compartmentalize and shut it all down.
Starting point is 01:30:30 I think it's good. I think it's healthy. Well, I was very appreciative of your laughing emoji. Yeah, no problem. As I was going to the funeral. Yeah, it was also good to see everybody. You know, it shouldn't be
Starting point is 01:30:43 that a funeral brings everybody back together. But that's how, and the life part of it is that's really what happens a lot of times. you have a hundred people and it's hard to get everybody together unless it's some big life circumstance but it was good to see everyone yesterday like from high school and old teachers
Starting point is 01:31:00 and um you know my high school is so small we don't do a class reunion so it was that part of it was pretty nice and I was glad everybody was there for for Evan and the few you can hardly get into the funeral of so packed and so yeah that was that's tough yesterday but I'm so glad I went and
Starting point is 01:31:18 I just didn't do a very good job but I try a hard as I could and I can't be that mad at myself if I tried hard as I can't. Exactly. Like I gave all I could give but I was a man I couldn't even see,
Starting point is 01:31:29 I had tears in my eyes so hard I couldn't even see the people and then when I did I'd look and I would see Evan crying and I would start crying again and I'd be like what's wrong with me I'm supposed to be a take but you know what I bet afterwards Evan came up and thanked you
Starting point is 01:31:41 and appreciated you and it was perfect. I think everybody was just kind of like dang Bobby sucked We thought it's going to be good I bought tickets to this and what I bought tickets Oh, oh. No, stop.
Starting point is 01:31:50 Now you're trying to make jokes. I know, guess what I do? Did you tell a joke from up there? Oh, I had some good ones. Great stories. I had some great stories with some great jokes. I got some big laughs whenever I can maintain myself. Okay.
Starting point is 01:32:01 See? Now we're getting somewhere, talking about the positives of it. We were going up before, and his sister was speaking before me because they had a family and they had like a speaker, me, and who was very close to him. And so she goes up, and she's like, I don't think I can talk. I'm so emotional. She goes up and nails it. It doesn't even crack.
Starting point is 01:32:17 And then I was before and I was like, I was like, I'm good. I'm pretty, I can do this. And then I go up and I'm like, I'm baa! It's a mess. I was a mess. Yeah. That was a mess. It's time for the good news.
Starting point is 01:32:31 With Bobby. Tell me something good. I always like these stories where something happens to someone and then it's real personal to them. So they like go in their life mission is to help people who have had the same kind of thing. I'm always drawn to these kind of stories. A woman in Indiana was in a bad car accident 18 years ago. And so they come and they save her life. And now she's working for the EMT department that actually saved her life.
Starting point is 01:32:57 Oh, that's cool. Right? And then pretty neat. Yeah. Yeah. Her and her two-year-old niece were passengers in the car during the accident. She suffered a compound fracture on a broken pelvis. They saved both of their lives.
Starting point is 01:33:08 And 20 years after the crash, she's now saving. You ready for the big one? Get the to-da already, folks. The person who saved her is now her partner. That's going to be cool for that partner. Yeah, so. Like, life partner? No, like, working together.
Starting point is 01:33:26 Oh, that's weird. Sorry. Well, the age. Age is the number. That's right. Love is love. Love is love. All right, there you go.
Starting point is 01:33:33 That's good news. That's Tell Me Something Good. Thank you. That was Tell Me Something Good. On the Bobby Bones show now. Dustin Lynch. Here he is. Come on.
Starting point is 01:33:43 Look at this guy. Look at this guy. What up, buddy? Not much. Good to see you, man. Put those headphones on. Look at you. Hey, I have a question for you, Dustin Lynch,
Starting point is 01:33:52 because I follow you on Instagram. I like to write little comments on your, on your interviews. Let's talk about these comments. Well, no, here's the thing. This is what I like. Like, you'll post a picture. You're a good-looking dude, right? And this is my question to you.
Starting point is 01:34:03 When you post, there was a picture of you were like, you had like a body of water. You didn't have a shirt on. You look pretty good. I'm like to you look pretty good, right? Oh, well, thank you. And you get a lot of likes. Like a lot.
Starting point is 01:34:12 Does it make you want to take your shirt off and more pictures? because that was pretty popular post. Because you know you get messed with by your dude friends, but people... Sorry, I broke the mic. No, not really. You don't? No. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:34:30 I mean, that was such... I was in love with that picture, not because it wasn't like, hey, I have my shirt office was posted. That was a trip, a guy's trip, we did to Bali. And when we went to a couple waterfalls and this waterfall was like, I did like a 20 minute just stand under it and breathe and just awesome kind of thing. Look at everybody thinking about that. I'm super hot.
Starting point is 01:34:52 Come on. Come on. Bobby, why are you trying to like pressure him into that? I know. You're not scared to be like, you go shirtless often. Yeah, you do. But I do it for comedy. There's no vanity in comedy.
Starting point is 01:35:04 So I'll do it if I'm being funny for the most part. Wait, what is this picture? I'm so insecure of being shirtless in front of anybody. Look at this picture. Oh, you have it printed out. Yeah, yeah. Don't worry. Bobby has it. I was just going to Google it. The plot thickens.
Starting point is 01:35:17 I'm a big fan. I'm a big fan of this guy. You see, right, that gets a lot of likes. So I do more of those. I'm just speaking from my listening. Are you saying I should do more of those? Yeah, I am. What if we did one together? We found a waterfall. We got in. We took her shirt. Only if it's in Hawaii. I mean, because I've never been to Hawaii. I want to do that.
Starting point is 01:35:34 Dustin Lynch is here. Look at this guy. We're going to talk about new music in a second. I got lots because I printed out a lot of stuff about you, man. Good. Bring it. This one. I commented on this picture where you're cutting the tree down. Yes. Now, there was controversy with this picture. I don't know if I got around to you. He didn't, no, no, no.
Starting point is 01:35:49 Raimundo, who's a lumberjack, you know, our producer, Raimundo, said that you were going to injure yourself because you were cutting the tree the wrong way. Probably so. I don't know what the hell I'm doing. Raymondo, what do you think about this? Yeah, you just always got to make sure. Hold on me look at it. Okay. Let me look at it. It's right there. It's right there. It's right there's is in the air. It's got to be on the ground, because then it can
Starting point is 01:36:05 kick back and hit you in the face. Gotcha. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Do you... So how do I get the tree on the ground? How does he get the train in the ground? I don't know. Did you knock it down in the first place? No. It fell over my road, so I was trying to get through.
Starting point is 01:36:18 Wait, really? What I would suggest is to cut it near the base and have it fall and then cut it on the ground. Gotcha. But the better picture is what you did. I like that one, too. I commented on it. I was like, look at him. Come on.
Starting point is 01:36:28 Wait, there was a tree in your way so you needed to drive so you just got a chainsaw. And I thought, I mean, I know I saw it because we talked about on the show, but I thought you were just out chopping trees for fun. But you were blocking the road? It was across my road at my place. And so, yeah, we had to cut my way through. That's awesome. Don't even question Dustin Lynch.
Starting point is 01:36:47 Oh, not. Did you have to burn a much property, a bunch of land? I did, yeah. 90 acres, we did. Why did you have to burn 90 acres? So this piece of property I bought, they select cut it, which is where they just take, like, all the good trees for lumber, and they leave all the tree tops.
Starting point is 01:37:02 And I've learned so much in the past few months after I got this farm. But so now there's birch trees that are bad. for wood so they just shade everything out so nothing else can grow no good stuff can grow for the forest so you go in and you burn and you kill the birch trees so shay can get in and rejuvenate the forest when i bought i bought my mom a trailer before she passed away because i was like hey i'm going to buy you some land and there was a bunch we got a bunch of timber up there and we sold the timber because it was pretty good you know you did you get to sell any of that stuff or did you no no the guys i bought it from bought the land to log and then i bought it from them
Starting point is 01:37:35 after they had logged it somebody actually told on you they were like hey doesn't let's tell you we burned his property are you see you Seriously? Yeah, and I was like, no. That's crazy. So you had to hire someone? So you had some listeners call in? No, they just saw me out. And I guess they think that we're best friends. I love it. Yeah, because we are, right?
Starting point is 01:37:51 Cool. That's so random. Dustin Lynch is here. He's got a new song here. You like this one or no? I love this one, yeah. It's a good one, huh? It feels good, man. Called Riding Roads. What's this about? What if I said no? Yeah, it's like this song. I keep waiting for somebody to say no.
Starting point is 01:38:18 I'm always like, you like this one or no. It'll probably happen. There'll be like some label riff where they have to put a song out they don't like. That does happen sometimes. I forgot. You asked me another question. What was it? No, that's all right.
Starting point is 01:38:26 Let's pivot for a second. Sometimes an artist will come in and they don't even want to, they don't even want to promote that song. Yeah. And I know it too. It's like when an actor goes on a late night TV show and you can tell they think the movie sucks. Right.
Starting point is 01:38:36 And they don't want to talk about the movie. I won't say who. There have been a couple artists that come in and they're like. Are they older? Are they young artists that don't have a say yet? One of each, I would say. Where a young artist would come in that doesn't have a say or an older artist would come in where they've said, hey, you need to cut a younger sounding song.
Starting point is 01:38:53 And they're like, this is don't ask me about the song. Yeah, yeah. So it's a weird thing you bring that up. But yeah, tell me about the song. About that ride a new song. So this song actually came about because one of my buddies, I was going into write. It was last April. And one of my buddies had had a pretty wild night on his Snapchat story.
Starting point is 01:39:12 He had just a truck full of girls and guys. And they were just, it was multiple posts. And they were just riding these backcountry roads up. in Bollinger in Kentucky having a good time. And I'm like, there's a song in here somewhere. I've got to capture this moment. And it took us, I don't know, we just started from scratch that day, and it took us probably five or six hours to finally get bits and pieces of what is now riding roads.
Starting point is 01:39:36 And then we ended up working on all summer and then finished it in August. So it was one of those songs that didn't come easy, but we knew we had something special even with just a scrap. So we kept on at it. Talk to me about this. Because I'm going to play in a second. You walk into a room and you're like, all right, we're going to do this song. Who comes up with, maybe not who.
Starting point is 01:39:51 comes up, but how does an idea get suggested like that? One person goes, I have an idea. Yeah. So I did that. And I said, look, my buddy told him exactly what I just said, that you had a great night last night. There's got to, but we got to capture that feeling and that emotion because I miss that. I don't get to do that anymore and I want to get to do that. And so I said, what about just riding roads? How has that not been a hit yet? How is like, you know, and so we were like, all right, let's riff on that. We just started trying to get, for me, it's all about melody. So that takes a long time. Amy, so let me explain.
Starting point is 01:40:22 From melody would be not the words, but it'd be more like if you're in a room going, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, bo, boo, do do. Like that, like you're trying to find the music. Exactly. Then you assign words to it. That's it. So do the melody of riding roads. So he's doing that in the room.
Starting point is 01:40:41 No words yet. For probably five hours. Wow. Wow. And then, yeah, really how I do it, I kind of work backwards. Like, how do I get riding roads to sound cool and fun and sexy? And you just go around and round and around. And finally, we found a vibe that fit it.
Starting point is 01:40:57 And I was with two really good songwriters. Who did you write it with? Ashley Goreley and Zach Crowell. I know Zach's been on your podcast. They both have. Yeah, I know both those guys. So are you a melody writer first? I am, yeah.
Starting point is 01:41:11 So, because I've written with both, melody writers and lyric writers. Lyrics are coming out with, you know, I got to exclude the words. Yeah. And you go with the words. and other people will be like, they create the whole song with no words. They'll be like, all right, we got the whole song. Skibbitty boop, boop, boop, boop, let's assign some words.
Starting point is 01:41:24 I'm all about vibe and melody, yeah. Look at this guy. On the Bobby Bones show now. Dustin Lynch. Put together a little game for you. Okay. Well, I just feel like our listeners sometimes need to re-know you. Because you're going right before our eyes, Dustin Lynch.
Starting point is 01:41:39 Yeah. You went from this young guy starting out to, like, you're really on the precipice of superstar. You're already a star. Almost superstar. are. Ready? Yes, I'm ready. I don't know what's coming.
Starting point is 01:41:50 Current. Is there all current? Current answers here, okay? So not your all times, but your current. Cut. Favorite song right now. Just think about it. Current favorite song. Thick and thin, Laney. Oh, you're a Lainty fan, huh? Big time.
Starting point is 01:42:02 You're playing the rhyming coming up. I'll be there. Oh, are you? All right. Current TV show right now. Center. Oh, yeah, with Jessica Biel, or you're on season two? Season two? One, I'm on one.
Starting point is 01:42:13 Okay. I'm just starting. Favorite movie right now. Something you've seen recently. Gosh. Well, no, I just did a trip to UK, so I watched a bunch of movies. I'm trying to think of what I dug the most. You've seen Green Book?
Starting point is 01:42:30 No, I want to see that one. You've seen Creed 2? You know what? No, I haven't. But I guess I'll just go to like, I realize I haven't been to the movie theaters in, I don't know, seven, eight years. And I went about a month ago. And I watched, um, um, she, It's not panic room.
Starting point is 01:42:50 It's, what's the room? Escape room. Is that it? You watch that? It's a real movie? I think it's a movie for that. Is that good? It was pretty good, yeah.
Starting point is 01:42:57 And I've never done one of those in real life. Yeah, I don't want to do one of those. That's like, they might die in that movie, right? I saw a preview for that. It's like, yeah, it's legit. Oh, so it's scary? Yeah, it's pretty. They're in a room that's figuring out to get out and they could die.
Starting point is 01:43:10 You haven't gone to the movies theaters in a long, and that's what you went to see? Well, there wasn't, honestly, there wasn't really. Was it like a date? You were on a date? I was. There wasn't really any, yeah, there wasn't really anything else to watch at the time. Not like a superhero movie's been out for a while. No, there wasn't, you know, there wasn't any. Interesting. I don't know. Some pickets. What do you do to pass? What's a hobby? Pass the time. Right now, honestly, it's being outside on my land.
Starting point is 01:43:38 I'm obsessed. And honestly, I'm scared that it's going to start cutting into my songwriting time. Because if I have a day in Nashville, it's harder to get me in town to work in the studio because I'm always wanting to be outside working out there. Is it a tan real or no? It's real, yeah. I've been to California. Who's your favorite current follow on social media?
Starting point is 01:43:56 My current follow on social media? Yeah. Gosh. Who am I digging right now? Man, DJ Callet's got an album coming up, and he's always hilarious when he gets hype on something. So I'm actually, I fell out of love with him, and now I'm back in for some reason. Because he has something to promote and he's being really good again. I guess so, yeah.
Starting point is 01:44:15 Let's do one more podcast. You listen to any podcasts? I do. What do you got? Man, I'm listening right now, and it takes forever because the interviews are long for me. But I listen when I'm in the shower at home, the Joe Rogan experience, and I'm listening to... Like three and four hours long? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:44:31 How on are your showers? David, right? David Lee Roth. And I'm probably about two hours in right now. I think it's a three-hour interview. So that's a lot of showers. I'm kind of getting bored with the guy because it's like, man. But he's so intriguing. As soon as I want to give up and move on, he goes into something else.
Starting point is 01:44:49 And honestly, he's making me feel bad about my life. Because I don't know if you've listened to that one yet. I haven't. Anyways, David Lee Roth is like, he speaks Spanish. He speaks Japanese. He moved to Japan to learn Japanese. He learned how to write calligraphy over there And he was an EMT at 50
Starting point is 01:45:06 Just because he wanted to be an EMT And just like Has climbed all these mountains and all this stuff And it's like man, what a minute? Like the dude's done it all You're going into cardiac arrest And the Van Halen Leitzinger comes his debut I know right
Starting point is 01:45:18 Unbelievable Dustin Lynch is here You haven't been to the house And do a bobby cash yet have you I haven't. Oh man I don't know if you could take that Really? That's a grilling.
Starting point is 01:45:26 Dude I'd love to dive deep Come on Right in Do we dive deep? Or what? Sometimes people cry. Wow, okay. He's like Barbara Walters.
Starting point is 01:45:35 Most, not all, not most of the time. Just sometimes people cry. But it's good. It's like. Cry how? Are you like? Sometimes good. Yeah, sometimes people are like, oh, I haven't thought about that in a long time.
Starting point is 01:45:43 And they start talking about something. And, you know, because it's just an hour long. Like, it's like a, I'm basically Oprah. I'll be honest with you. I'm country music. Yeah. Right, Amy? Sure.
Starting point is 01:45:52 You know I saw on somebody's Instagram the other day? What? The top of Runyon Canyon, which is a hiking trail in L.A. I've never done. But apparently it's famous. There's a guy that does five-minute interviews for a podcast of just whoever wants to jump in. I thought that was an awesome idea for a podcast. Have you done that?
Starting point is 01:46:07 Runyon? Yeah. I love it. Have you seen that interview dude up there? No, but now I'm like, oh, shoot, I need to go. That would be so cool, right? He knows nothing about you. Just jump in the chair and go out of it.
Starting point is 01:46:16 I think that's really cool. You mentioned you're on a date. Anything you want to say about that? Life is good. Okay. You know what? I'll accept it. I'll settle with it.
Starting point is 01:46:25 Life is good. Did you pick a scary movie because you're on a date and she might get scared? Well, she loves scary movies So that maybe was her pick No, honestly it was after dinner And it was a late dinner And so we didn't have any, it was like That or a couple other things
Starting point is 01:46:42 So escape room it was This is one of those situations where I just know too much To continue the interview myself about this You know? You know what I mean? Dustin Lynch I'm just going to let you say life is good Life is good I like it when life's good
Starting point is 01:46:56 You want to hang out for a little more or no Yeah All right cool If you like to Go. On the Bobby Bones show now. Dustin Lynch. So what's happened with you?
Starting point is 01:47:05 You put out three songs. I'm going to play a little bit of this one here. Here's Little Town Living. That's cool. I like to buy that song. Thank you. I wrote that at Thomas Rett's farm. With Thomas Rett?
Starting point is 01:47:21 No, it was his... Obviously, he was out there with Lauren celebrating an anniversary or something. It was me and his dad and a couple other guys. Here's red dirt blue eyes. What's that one about? Man, it's just about being out in the wide open with what the girl you're digging and, yeah, getting out of the mess of downtown, you know. What, Amy? No, what, me?
Starting point is 01:47:52 No, Bobby, when you know, because when you said that, did you hear Mommy go, yeah? I was just feeling the song. Can the guy not feel a song? Once the last time you've taken the girl out into the middle of nowhere, Bobby? Middle of nowhere, not long. I've been dating a little bit, but not mill in nowhere. No? No, because then I'll get lost.
Starting point is 01:48:07 It's not very high if it's like, let me take you out in the middle of nowhere. Then I go, Yeah, but you have enough friends that have, you know, middle of nowhere places you could go to. Yeah, you can borrow one. Then it's like creepy. I'm like, hey, let's go out. No, I just, that's not my, that's not my scene.
Starting point is 01:48:23 You still got a Jeep? Yeah. I could go back to Arkansas and go middle of nowhere because that's, I know that area. But if I'm driving around some property down in Nashville and then I get lost, I look like the biggest tool. And like, baby, I would. Is that like a thing? What?
Starting point is 01:48:36 Like to go, I mean, is that? Getting lost? Yeah. No, in the middle of nowhere, but is that because I'm like thinking. Yes. Oh, my God, yeah. Oh, I don't. You need to try this out.
Starting point is 01:48:48 I'm missing out. Come on, hud. 12 years and I don't know if these ever taken me to the nowhere. What's the move? Let's just say hypothetically, just meet a girl, right? You're new in this hypothetical relationship-ish thing. And you go, hey, let's go for a drive. And then you just drive into the woods?
Starting point is 01:49:06 That's it. Well, not. No. You can. just back roads, yeah. But it's back roads. But how do you know the back roads? You don't.
Starting point is 01:49:13 Oh. And now with phones, it's like after you've had like enough, you're like, okay, let's head back into town. Then you can just plug in and go. Okay. But it's cool just to just start winding through, yeah. That sounds cute and all, but I'm going to lose signal. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:49:28 I'm going to be a total good because I'm like, I don't know. Are you going to get it out of here? Are you going to get on someone's property and they're going to come out? Yeah. Does that ever happen? You can kind of tell where, you know, you can tell where not to go. If it were where I grew up, I would know all the backroads or at least know where, and I'd be cool with that, but I'm not doing that here. I feel like I write songs
Starting point is 01:49:47 like this so often because I miss that and that's what we did growing up a lot. That's all you have to do. Getting to do this song is so rare for me that I think I'd just go there in my headspace when I write because I wish I was that guy still. Getting to do the song is so rare for you. What do you mean? I just don't have, you know, I don't have an every weekend type of let's go kick it in the middle of nowhere of friends or hang out with friends at all, really. This is, right. It's funny. You bring the note.
Starting point is 01:50:15 I have the same problem because I'm on the road pretty much every weekend or I'm doing. So I don't have a built-in set of friends here. So when I come back home, I'm like, what do I even do? So instead of sitting here being lonely, I just go work some more. Yeah. And so, yeah, it sounds like you are struggling from that as well. Big time. Yeah, I haven't gone out and done anything with friends since the new year.
Starting point is 01:50:39 and here we are in the March so yeah same with me I don't know it's bad you just lose that connection I honestly don't know
Starting point is 01:50:48 what to do I wouldn't even know how to start that conversation hey dude I know I don't know it's bad
Starting point is 01:50:54 and we start and me I go man this stinks I'm just I'm hit at home and nobody wants to ask me to hang out but no one is
Starting point is 01:50:59 even used to me being here so it's not that's the problem yes that's the problem is you're y'all are gone
Starting point is 01:51:04 so much are people that are on the road that when you are back in town friends you're not Friends just assume you're gone.
Starting point is 01:51:10 Yeah. So we don't reach out. Or now they probably assume we just don't want to hang out. Yeah. Or you're like resting because you're so tired. But then at the same time, I'm always having to be outgoing and on it, you know, that when I get home a lot of times I just want to veg out on the couch anyway. Do you feel, and again, I'm going to project a bit of me onto you here, do you feel, though,
Starting point is 01:51:28 if you go out and you have to meet new people, they expect you to be big, big, fun, Dustin Lynch all the time. And sometimes you just don't want to be big, fun Dustin Lynch, who's the singer on stage. You just kind of want to hang out. And if you just hang out and you're quiet, they go, but what a jerk. He doesn't even talk. Exactly. And I've had that happen. Me too. Why are you mad? Why aren't you so fun? You're so funny on the radio.
Starting point is 01:51:45 I didn't want to hang out. Yeah. Let me ask you this. Birthday parties. Okay. I hate you. What? Go ahead. Ask him.
Starting point is 01:51:53 Would you rather have a big birthday party with like four or five of your closest friends and then like those six through 12 get a little offended? They didn't get invited. Or just have one where like a hundred people show up and you have to like talk to everybody. A hundred. Calm down. That'd be work. A hundred would be work. Well, okay.
Starting point is 01:52:07 Sorry. How many do you want to say 30? No. No. Okay. Go ahead. Answer the question. Like 30.
Starting point is 01:52:13 We'll say the number's 30. 30? 30 people. Make it 15. That's not true. I don't know. I think 30 is manageable. At your house?
Starting point is 01:52:20 No. Easy. No. Hypothetically speaking on top of Dirk. Yeah. Hypothetically. Still easy. 30's easy.
Starting point is 01:52:26 But you have to talk to every single person. I mean, there's 30 people in this room. I don't even like all these people in here. I'm just kidding. I do. I don't know. I get what you're saying, but I don't know. I do understand that it's your birthday, so the spotlight is on you.
Starting point is 01:52:41 Yeah. I don't love that. Me, I struggle with that a lot. I get weird when people sing me happy birthday because I'm emotional and I'm like, am I really getting emotional? I don't know. Oh, Bobby, we don't have to sing. Are you a cryer? Big time.
Starting point is 01:52:53 Really? I'm going to cry today a lot, most likely. Why? I'll be shocked if I don't. We're celebrating Good Girl going number one this evening. Well, that's a thing you should cry about. I don't know why, but I get so emotional still. It's good.
Starting point is 01:53:06 Let's watch him. Watch his eyes, everybody. Staring at him. But yeah, I'm a crier. I think that's what I don't know if I ever do win, and I've cried, you know, when I got asked to be a member of the operating all, but if I ever do get nominated and win an award, they're going to hate that.
Starting point is 01:53:24 I've won that award because I'm just going to ball and be a mess on stage. Have you always been a crier? Yeah. Oh, have you? Yeah, since day one. And I used to be so bad at giving speeches, like right out of college given, you know, rehearsal dinner speeches or whatever for friends weddings. I was so nervous and just bad at it.
Starting point is 01:53:42 And I guess just repetition, you get used to it and better at it. And I'm fine now. I can speak in front of anybody. But yeah, I've always cried, even back then. I'm having a rehearsal dinner. Why am I crying? I don't know. Just programmed that way.
Starting point is 01:53:57 You're pretty emo. I guess so, right? That's what it all comes down to. I've been crying a lot lately and I'm not really a cryer. I'm kind of a hider. Hide my emotions. Yeah. But, yeah, like, does that mean you're getting better?
Starting point is 01:54:10 I don't know or worse. And I go to therapy. Sometimes my therapist will be like, it's okay to be emotional, but I'd be like, am I losing my edge? Right. If I have feelings, then I have my edge. Yeah. What you think, Amy?
Starting point is 01:54:23 I mean, I think something's going on. Something's changed. Something's up. Something's up because you're not a cry. Do you have, like, have you identified what it is or no? Like, what's changed in your life? I mean, you're still as busy as always, but. Okay.
Starting point is 01:54:36 Yes. Maybe even busier. but what I think what I've done is maybe a bit what you've done is you've said to yourself again I'm projecting onto you I think we're similar in a lot of ways that you go you know what what's the use of all this good stuff I can't share it with somebody yeah and then you start to go let me reprioritize a little bit just a little bit because if I don't change nothing will change so I've had to make some changes in my life personally I'm dating a little bit you know just opening my and when you open it up then you freaking open it up and everything
Starting point is 01:55:07 You're barreling out of there, man. I watched Creed 2. I cried four times. You're not supposed to cry during that movie. Guys like going to Russia. Russia. I don't know what's wrong. I watched Green Book I cried at the end of.
Starting point is 01:55:21 It's good. Greenbrook, you should cry. Green Book, I for sure should watch. Have you, shut us. Why are you judging Creed 2? I'm not saying that shouldn't evoke tears. What's your relationship like with your dad? Because I don't have a dad.
Starting point is 01:55:32 Because that was the good part. It's good, yeah. You probably like Creed then because I think that, is a lot with Creed and Rocky in their relationship. And I didn't have a dad. So for me, I was like, man, I really want that. But I can also see if you have a good relationship
Starting point is 01:55:45 with your dad, you're going to ball your eyes out too because that's what it's all about. It's like that male, like I got you type stuff. Oh, wow. I'm just worried. Watch, doesn't do this for me. Watch Creed too. Just send me a message.
Starting point is 01:55:56 Okay. And let me know if you cry at all. But don't lie. Okay. Because I know you. All right. You probably lie. I'd be like, I didn't cry.
Starting point is 01:56:03 No, I'll see on vlog three seconds. 73's crying. He really wanted to put it in this vlog. Which, by the way, the vlog is pretty good, man. We're having fun. It's like a new movie every week. New Dustin Lynch movie coming out. It's a good time.
Starting point is 01:56:17 Look at you. I got three songs out. I'll ask the question of, not that I'm not happy, there are just three songs, but are you putting out a full record? Is this just part of it? Yeah, we've got a few more in the works right now
Starting point is 01:56:28 and chipping away at it. So I've got to, I'm like, I don't want to finish an album unless I know it's something I'm really proud of I'm two or three songs away from being really proud of an album. So I don't know if I'll honestly like since December I've been writing. I haven't been happy with how I've been writing. I don't know why that is.
Starting point is 01:56:52 Spanish? I don't know what's up, man. Like it's just, it's part of it. You know, you write stuff and you're like, eh. And I've been doing that for months. So I'm hoping I get out of that funk and we can finish this album. Let me ask you this question. Because things in your.
Starting point is 01:57:07 life are changing. It's back to the edge question I was saying about myself. Like, let's say you get married. Are you worried that you're not going to have that writing, like that void in you that makes you write a certain way that you used to have? Man, I've thought about that. And it's funny that, you know, I started out with song Cowboys and Angels. And I was talking to a guy yesterday out at my farm.
Starting point is 01:57:28 And he goes, man, that's my favorite song. And this girl I was dating's favorite song. I said, man, what's cool about that is we kind of got away from that thing. but as I get out of this stage of my life where I can sing about right in the middle of the country and, you know, the new love thing will be able to go back
Starting point is 01:57:47 to more meatyer Cowboys and Angels type of themes and that's fun to look forward to I look forward to writing those songs again. We're going to play you out with that one. Oh, wow. Yeah. Throw it back. Yeah, I think that's, and that's the first song
Starting point is 01:57:59 you ever came in and played on our show too, first time we ever met. Dustin Lynch at Dustin Lynch Music. That's his Instagram. The EP's called riding roads that songs a jam and it's good to see you my friend thanks for having me ma'am and uh come over the house sometime we'll get into it I'd love to I'll make you cry Brank it yeah okay sometimes I just chop onions into the table and I'm like how's your day
Starting point is 01:58:18 I don't know you're pumping something through the through the H-rack I get it all right Dustin Lynch we'll see you soon bye Bobby Bonds I don't like people talking about their dreams because right who cares right Amy honestly well I mean yeah sometimes it's interesting but I get it but let me tell about my dream last night oh okay I had to dream what I like it's interesting right now. Tell me more. Just this one point. Somebody came up and offered me a dog. They were like, will you take this dog? And I was like, I can't. I got to go away for a couple days.
Starting point is 01:58:45 And they were like, okay, I'll talk to you soon. And my dream was over. Okay. Do you think it was like a premonition? I don't know. I'm totally dialed into the dog stuff right now. And I didn't have a nightmare. I went to the doctor. And because I, you know, I've been messing with this anxiety. So I'm trying to find the right. Because I don't like taking medicine. But sometimes I just can't sleep and have crazy like PTSD nightmares.
Starting point is 01:59:06 My doctor gave me this medicine. It doesn't help you fall asleep, but it does help you with nightmares. So if you can fall asleep, you apparently don't have crazy nightmares. I've taken it two nights. I've had the loveliest dreams. I had a dog dream. I had another dream where we were like hanging out on the beach, playing golf on the beach. You don't even play golf on a beach.
Starting point is 01:59:27 But I know. You don't dream of that. What do you mean? You don't. You've never heard you dream about that. I know. That's lovely. You're right.
Starting point is 01:59:35 These are the loveliest dreams Yeah, what are you taking? Let me grab my pill bottle, I'll tell you. I feel like you're in some movie. Do you want to know the name? I'll grab my pill bottle. Well, I mean, I'm not going to take them, but sure, I guess out of curiosity. Hit me that bag.
Starting point is 01:59:50 I brought them with me because I'm in New York. I'm about to do this crazy press tour. But, all right, the pills I'm taking, because I know our listeners love my medical. It's called Prazosin. I'm sure you said that right. Prozossus. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:00:11 Prezosen, maybe? Prozosen. You may Google that, but I'm going to tell you, I've had two nights, and it's given me just delightful dreams. Somebody to Google that, tell me what that's all about. Because obviously I did. We'll spell it. P-R-A-Z-O-S-I-N.
Starting point is 02:00:25 Prazosin. There you go. Oh, because that's not how I was spelling it. Well, I probably wasn't saying it, right. Wait, do you have a urinary retention problem? I do not. Are you running the bed? No.
Starting point is 02:00:42 Sometimes I dribble still, but that's not for that. I think medicine does a few things at once. Anyway, what if my doctor, though, has tricked me and he knows I'm dribbling, and he doesn't want to give me that? It is increasingly being used as an off-label thing to treat nightmares with patients that have PTSD. Insomnia and hallucinations are listed as some of the rare side effects.
Starting point is 02:01:05 Oh my gosh, you were hallucinating the Iraq. on a beach playing off. That's awesome. I'll take it. Yeah. I'll take it. So anyway, it stopped my dribble and I'm having great dreams.
Starting point is 02:01:13 It's amazing. There you go. Let's see what's happening today, Amy. Oh, man. I have to see my chiropractor today. So that is like top of my list. Never got to the chiropractor game so much. Well, she's going to do some of that stuff you got done,
Starting point is 02:01:28 the dry needling. Okay, which is not a chiropractic thing. It's just a, you know. But she's a chiropractor that also does that. So she's going to adjust me because I have some major issues and then she's going to target the pain with some of those needles. Yeah. I felt pretty good.
Starting point is 02:01:46 Morgan number two and I box that talked about and my shoulder just a little bit I could feel the next day and I went hard on purpose to see if it would hurt. Yeah. And my shoulder was getting a little better. Oh, that's good. Yeah. Well, what threw me off, my back was doing better. But when we went to Disneyland and I rode those roller coasters,
Starting point is 02:02:01 that stuff jerked me around like crazy. And now I just, I feel like I need to get. get back into alignment. What about you? Well, I have a TV, what they call a TV satellite tour for American Idol, because we go to Hawaii this week. We already went. But I'm on American Idol as the full-time mentor. And so they have me, and I was talking about this earlier. I sit in a chair and they just patched me to all these cities. Amy, look at all these cities that I have. Can you see my phone? Is it too bright? Too bright. Well. Oh, no, I just saw a glance. That's a lot. Yep. Yep. You're busy. I mean, it's down to the. I mean, it's down to the
Starting point is 02:02:36 minute. They're like 10.54. 10 a.m. Grand Rapids, Michigan. 10.06.O.N.6, Buffalo, New York. 1012. 12, Nashville, Tennessee. 1018, Baltimore, Maryland. 1024, Indianapolis, Indiana. It goes all the way until 1 p.m. Oh, my gosh. For every six minutes. But you're happy to, you be happy to know that at 1054, I get a break for three minutes. That's the only break. I feel like you're going to be parched. Well, you get water. You get free water while you do this. Okay. So I'm going to do this, and I'm going to go to a show tonight. So.
Starting point is 02:03:05 Like what kind of show? Like a Broadway show. Oh, interesting. Thank you very much. With who? What show? Well, I'm going with someone who's here with PR for doing an idol. We're going together.
Starting point is 02:03:18 Not a date. So all you guys can kiss my grids. Which I'm going to start saying a whole lot more. Maybe you'll meet somebody that works on Broadway. That would be cool. That would be cool. There are two broadways. One in Nashville, one in New York.
Starting point is 02:03:30 Maybe I don't want of them. All right. We're done. Have a great day. Lunchbox left the room, so we can't tell him have a great day. But we'll tell him that everybody said it when he comes back in in a minute. Thank you so much. We'll see you tomorrow.
Starting point is 02:03:42 On tomorrow's show, low cash. They have a record coming out tomorrow, so they're going to come into Friday morning conversation. Thanks to Dustin Lynch.
