Starting point is 00:02:13 It's Monday after the radio show is over. We turn our mics on and just keep talking. Thank you. My nose is bleeding today because it's so dry out here. Did that happen to you, Amy? I get a little of that happening when I go to, like, Colorado or different places. driving up here. My nose is...
Starting point is 00:02:31 I can feel it. It just feels like a waterfall starting to come out of your nose. And I'm like, oh, that's for sure blood. And I stick my finger under it and it's just covered in blood. Yeah, you have more bloody nose issues than I do. Well, when I was a kid, I used to wake up
Starting point is 00:02:43 and my pillow was covered in blood. Because it would get so humid. And trust me, I already... I would say wasn't Mr. Casanova. Add bloody noses all the time. Yeah. Doesn't help. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:54 Nosebleed bones. He can get many ladies. Nope. Although I wasn't bones then. bones inhabit's almost like 17 Um, okay Amy, I read the story and thought about your husband Okay, what is it?
Starting point is 00:03:09 Your husband has beard, right? Yes. Yeah, uh, if you know a man with a pretty full beard, he's probably got small testicles. Oh, interesting. What? Okay. That's what it says.
Starting point is 00:03:22 Okay. Well, I mean, he's had a beard only the last like six years, seven years. Well, Oh my goodness Why are we talking about this? What is this? Look, what does that say?
Starting point is 00:03:36 Yeah. Men with beard has small testicles. It's why keep mine shaving. I want to wait anybody getting the wrong ideas. Okay, let's just move on. I want him to be surprised by the small testicles. I don't want them to know. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:03:54 It's like, Amy, let me ask you a question. If we see a guy in a really big truck. I know. Like super big. What do you think? Honestly, what do you think? I give a super big try. No, I mean, that's the saying. It's like he's trying to compensate or something. No, I don't think that. I don't think because they're, it's just because it's a saying. I don't think that. And what do you think when you see a guy with a beard?
Starting point is 00:04:13 Small testicles. No, well, no, I have never thought that in my life. Do you know who wrote this story? I just saw it. Amy wrote it. Wow. Do you all know those cars? Like, what is up with those people that at the nut, like, those are hilarious. Those are hilarious. Those are so funny. Every time you pull it behind one, you laugh.
Starting point is 00:04:31 No, whenever I pull it behind one, I'm like... I'm like disgusting. Yeah, I'm like... Who are you? Put testicles, like nuts. And then you have a girlfriend or a wife and she's cool with you having balls hanging down from your... Amy just took it to a new level with balls. Every time I see that, it's funny.
Starting point is 00:04:48 Why am I snorting so much? I don't know. So I would say, just ranking up in the grossness of those terms, testicles is at the bottom. Nuts is at the bottom. in the middle and Amy went full balls which is at the top. Like balls is like... Yeah, okay, fine. Testicles.
Starting point is 00:05:06 You can change your Alexa setting so you won't be recorded. You see that story where Alexa has people go and listen to our recordings? Oh. I mean, I guess that's good because some people, that's why they don't want the Alexa and going on because she's spying. It probably would be smart of Amazon
Starting point is 00:05:24 and make an option to turn the on feature, but for now you must turn the on feature. But for now you must turn the off option that allows eavesdropping. So if you want to block that, here's how you go to the Alexa account, you choose Alexa privacy, then manage how your data improves Alexa, turn off, turn, I mean, they make it possible. Oh my gosh, yeah, that's too much already. I'm like, okay, fine, just spy on me. Me too. You know what? I kind of gave up on that too. I have an Alexa in my bedroom and my living room. And I was like, do I even care? At this point, no. I got nothing happening that.
Starting point is 00:05:55 Wait, in your bedroom? What have you got a lady over and you're saying something? And Alexa goes, oh, what is that? That's a great point. I just never have ladies over. Yeah, it's fine, right? Maybe it'll change if that happens. But, yeah, no ladies over.
Starting point is 00:06:14 I guess anything you want to say, Amy? No, but do you have anything you want to say? I don't know. About why? I don't know. This is the time to share it. I know. This is a safe space.
Starting point is 00:06:25 It's not safe around here. I learned a long time ago. It's not safe around here. I'm done with the show. I gotta go to American Idol. And I fly back home overnight. That red eye, fly, they called a red eye. I don't even know why they called a red eye because you wake up and your eyes are red
Starting point is 00:06:38 because you didn't get any sleep and you're cranky. I think that's why, isn't it? It's the worst. It's the worst. I tried every way to get out of it. I tried every way to get out of it and I couldn't. So as soon as the show is over tonight, I go to the airport, I fly overnight and you lose the two hours and then you land at like four o'clock in the morning.
Starting point is 00:06:56 You do the show again. I'm almost burnt Almost I'm almost burnt I got about another month in me Before I'm fully burnt And then I'm done Then I'm done with Idol Well when does I don't end
Starting point is 00:07:08 Well the end of May But I love I love this out here I just wish it wasn't so far away So far away I just wish American Idol was at my house Like we just shoot it like in my living room Oh wouldn't that be nice
Starting point is 00:07:25 It would be nice No, I wish we did this show from my house. I know. Well, you did for years, so you need to start that. But it was amazing. Talking about how to go back. Yeah. I mean, I was doing it.
Starting point is 00:07:36 Not only was I doing it from my house and my pajamas, but I was also on the East Coast and y'all were on Central, so I was an hour later. You wake up hour later. Which means I'm West Coast. I got to wake up two hours earlier when I'm out here. And I'm not even complaining. I'm just saying.
Starting point is 00:07:49 But, yeah, I'll fly back. All right. Enjoyed this. Let me say that Caroline Hobby has a new podcast. It's really good. it's called what's it called Amy? I'm going to ask you again. Get Real. Get Real with Caroline Hobby.
Starting point is 00:08:02 She's talked to a lot of the wives of country music stars, which is so fascinating because you get to hear about another side of not only the country star, because who cares, but really about them and all the cool things they're doing. There's one up with Jana Kramer right now, but there's also one with Caroline Bryan, Luke Brian's wife that's up, and check it out.
Starting point is 00:08:20 I'd suggest you give it a listen. You can search over on your iHeartRadio or wherever you listen to podcasts. And yeah, I think that's it. You can check out Amy's podcast, Four Things with Amy Ground. You can check out Lunchbox, Eddie and Raymundo's podcast, the sore losers, which I believe Lunchbox said Tiger Woods would not have a chance to win the Masters. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:08:40 You predicted that on your sports show. Ouch. Hey, that's what sports are about. You make predictions. Sometimes you're right. Sometimes you're wrong. There you go. Yeah, you want to tell me, lose some.
Starting point is 00:08:49 Check it out. We'll start today's show. Enjoy. Away we go. Folks, it's your buddy and mine. Mr. Bobby Bowles. And we're transmitting across America. This is a Bobby Ball.
Starting point is 00:09:05 Hey, welcome to the show. Fun Monday, because, well, what a big weekend for me as far as I had a lot to do. Oh, by the way, more studio. Morning. Thank you. Just shot out of a canon here this morning. American Idol was last night, and holy crap. I think that was the best show I've ever seen as far as America.
Starting point is 00:09:24 And not just me watching it, but ever with that many good people. So that was last night. The Raging Idiots played in Bakersfield. Game of Thrones was on. Taylor Swift put out a teaser about music coming out April 26th. That's what we think it is, right? Music. Like, we're almost sure it's music.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Because on our Insta story, Taylor Swift has a thing up because of this many days. And so, April 26th was a little countdown. You know, the Insta Story countdown where you put like a little clock? Yeah. You familiar with that? Mm-hmm. Yeah. So Taylor Swift put that up.
Starting point is 00:09:57 So the whole world was freaking out about that. the Masters and Tiger Woods wins. It's just like, holy baloney, man. It was a big weekend. There was a lot. There was a lot. What'd you do? I had a friend in town, her and her husband, so I was pretty, we just stayed busy with them.
Starting point is 00:10:14 And then yesterday took the kids to the park and practiced soccer. I don't know. I forget my husband played soccer, but apparently played for like eight years when he was a kid. Like he quit by the time he got to high school, but I forget. And I am always like, yeah, yeah, yeah. You don't really know what you're talking about. But he went out there with them and he was like helping them and stuff. And I was like, oh my gosh, he does know what he's talking about.
Starting point is 00:10:34 Are they getting better? Yes, they're getting better. I really think Stasheera needs to, if she's all in, like she wants to get better, she's got to focus. Lunchbox, what's up to you, buddy? How'd you do? Oh, man, I just hung out at the house and watched a lot of sports this weekend. The NBA playoffs started the Masters and hung out with the wife and kid. I mowed the lawn, you know, just doing man stuff.
Starting point is 00:10:57 Do you watch hockey playoffs? I watched a little bit of hockey playoffs. I watched the Preds and I watched, who did I watch, the Calgary Flames versus the Colorado Avalanche. So yeah, I watched a little NHL. Yeah, I was a lot. I feel like I did a lot too. What did you do? Well, I just told you like a hundred things in a row before I went over to Amy.
Starting point is 00:11:15 Well, I know, but I'm just trying to make you sound like I was busy and like I didn't, never mind. Cool. I was reading this before I came on, Am. What is it? I was reading this. Well, you know me. I like to read a lot of these self-help guys. and it's kind of motivational speeches.
Starting point is 00:11:33 And this guy named Napoleon Hill, who is a self-help guy, he said this. If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way. What do you think about that? I love it. I think it's really great. Here's the thing. I don't think people really do big, great things. I think we do a lot of little things that turn into great things.
Starting point is 00:11:54 Like, no one just goes, I'm going to do something great and on a large level. I mean, look at you, for example, if you don't mind me putting it on you for a second. Okay. You do a lot for people. You do a lot for the orphanage in Haiti. You didn't just go, hey, I'm just going to do something big for the orphanage. No, what did you do? You started by doing very tiny things.
Starting point is 00:12:15 Yeah. I mean, we showed that, too, like a long time ago. Like, even our listeners, like, it was awesome. Like, the nannies that the orphanage needed, they weren't getting paid or something. And we literally set it at a dollar. Like, I don't think you could donate more than one or two. dollars or something and we saw the listeners all come together and donate a dollar and then it all added up to where we were able to pay the nannies. But that makes me think of a mother Teresa
Starting point is 00:12:36 quote that I love and it's not all of us can do great things but we can do small things with great love. Yeah, so I guess my point, as I was reading this this morning, I was just thinking about it. I think a lot of us feel like we can't do anything because we are coming from, our platform isn't so big. And you got to even think about the show. The show now, frankly, it's a massive platform, but it wasn't. For a long time, we were a show with no ratings in one city. And we were like, hey, we want to help out in a little bitty ways. And so I just encourage everybody out there. You're listening to this and you're like, I'd like to give back. I just call it the nickel theory. Find a place to give a nickel because nickels help. And nickels
Starting point is 00:13:10 turned into dimes once they're combined with another nickel. Next thing you know, you're, you got a dollar. And so I just made that up, the nickel theory. Got to go quite, put that in there. I'm writing right on my next book. Another one that's like really legit would be like the starfish story. No, the nickel theory. That's going to be a thing. thing Amy. Okay, okay, okay. If everybody just gives it, if everybody just gives a nickel, eventually you have $1,000. Yes.
Starting point is 00:13:31 There you go. If you can't do a great thing, do small things in a great way. I saw that this morning. I thought I wanted to share that here. Here's the thing. If I'm home and I'm in my own bed, it just feels so good. I get good sleep. I feel better.
Starting point is 00:13:43 And a big part of that is my sleep number bed. Like, that's how I know I'm home. You know, I talk. I travel a lot. That's part of the deal with my job. But everybody doesn't have sleep numbers. I love my sleep number. My sleep number setting is 30.
Starting point is 00:13:54 And it's all about. the mattress for me and my mattress firmness. The sleep number 360 smart beds are so smart. They sense your every move. They automatically adjust to you, keeping you sleeping comfortably throughout the night. When you add a flex-fit smart adjustable base, you can also raise the head or foot of your bed

Starting point is 00:14:21 Go and now, save up to $1,000 bucks on select sleep number 360 smart beds. when you add a smart, adjustable base, only for a limited time. Here's the Bobby Bones Show podcast, highlight segment of the day. So something shady was happening in your neighborhood?
Starting point is 00:14:43 Yeah. Yeah, a little side hustle going down with the crossing guard. So tell me what would happen, what you would see with your eyes. Well, I've witnessed it on multiple occasions and months apart. So I was like, well, this must be happening way more than I think. But the car, well, we're going slow anyway. It's a school zone. So you're 15 miles or less.
Starting point is 00:15:03 And so the cars are already creeping. And then she's kind of in the middle of the road doing her thing. And then every once in a while or when I've seen it, she's giving something to someone that's driving by and they exchange. But I don't know what's being exchanged. In your mind, it's possibly money and drugs. Maybe. Oh. But something's going on, though.
Starting point is 00:15:25 Some oxy. Oh, maybe it could be pills. It looks like a little bit. I mean, I don't know. I don't know that she doesn't look like the type where she's like a hardcore drug dealer. Those are the hardest core. She could maybe have back pain. And so she's got access to pills that she shares with people.
Starting point is 00:15:44 And you think there's something happening in your neighborhood. Cars are going by and there's transactions happening right in front of your face. I mean, the first time I saw it, I thought, oh, she must know that person. and she's giving them a little something. Or like, come I give them the business card. You're doing a good job. Have it made my card. The third time I saw it, again, months apart.
Starting point is 00:15:59 I'm like, what is going down? Like, I'm missing all kinds of transactions. Well, lunchbox decided to go to your neighborhood. You guys already live close. And what in your mind are you doing? Well, what I did is I did recon first. I watched how it went down. And so I did it happen.
Starting point is 00:16:13 I saw it happen. What? You did? And so I was like, Yeah. I was like, this is crazy. Like, I thought Amy was just seeing things. Maybe Amy blinked at the long time.
Starting point is 00:16:23 How did you go see it? Like, where did you go stand? I just parked and I parked on the side of the road. Like, because it's a street. So you just parked like you're in front of a house and you just sit in the car for a while. It's like an undercover cop. You're on stakeout? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:34 And you watch it happen. And so I was like, okay, this is a real deal. So the next day, I went back and I gave it a shot. So by giving it a shot, what did you do? I just rolled down the window as I'm rolling by and hollered at her. Give me some of that stuff. Give me some of that stuff. Did you have money in your hand?
Starting point is 00:16:54 I have a clap here. Were you nervous? I was really nervous because I was like, what if this is an undercover coverage of my aesthetic? Like reverse undercover when I'm trying to do undercover. Like she's undercover. Yeah, because we're not like trying to bust her, but like something's going on.
Starting point is 00:17:08 We're trying to do a radio bit. Yeah. Like they pulled me over and be like, no, I was undercovering you. No, like, oh. It's like that Spider-Man meme where they're pointing at each other. Love that one. Okay. Morgan and number two and Mike D got that joke.
Starting point is 00:17:21 Thank you. Hey, Amy, as millennials only got that. I didn't hear you. It doesn't matter. It's a Spider-Man joke. I didn't get it. Here we go. Too much in disbelief that, I mean, I know it's happening with the fact that he saw it too means it's really happening all the time.
Starting point is 00:17:32 And you did see her handing for me? Oh, yeah. More than once? More than once. That's why I was like, it's real. That's why I was like, I got to get out. I got to go in. I got to try it.
Starting point is 00:17:40 Or you by yourself? Or was a baby with you? No, no, baby was not with me. You can't do that with the baby. The whole family. All right. All right. So, here's lunchbox.
Starting point is 00:17:46 driving to the crossing guard who Amy thinks is... Wait, you know what? Now I think of it, baby was in the back seat. It was? Oh, my God. I didn't even think about that. Oh, my gosh. I'm a terrible dad.
Starting point is 00:17:57 Wait, why were you doing with the baby in the back? I didn't even think about it right now. I just talking about it right now. I was. He was in the back seat. Oh, no. Oh, no. I want to hear these clips.
Starting point is 00:18:06 You brought a baby to a stakeout? No, no, no. Detectives don't do that. Oh, no. Okay, here we go. Here's lunchbox. Driving by the crossing guard, who you think is probably selling something.
Starting point is 00:18:15 Oh, yeah. All right here we got. What we got? What we got? What we got? High five. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. What we got?
Starting point is 00:18:25 What we got? That's what I'm talking about. The goods. The goods. Thank you. Okay, now... Did you not hear the crinkle? He got it.
Starting point is 00:18:37 Did she give you something? Yeah! No! Oh my God. You didn't hear the crinkle? Let me hear it again. Hold on. What did she give you?
Starting point is 00:18:45 Listen to the crinkle. Let me hear it again. Before I play back, do you promise that you got something? I swear to you, I got something. What did I tell you? You're my friends even heard the bitch. She's like, you're just making stuff up. And I'm like, we don't make stuff up.
Starting point is 00:18:59 Listen to the crinkle. Here's why we can't make stuff up because we couldn't remember it. To all of our listeners who think we're going to make stuff up. We can't because then we can't remember it. And Lentworks has kept all of this from me. He did text me the other day saying, hey, where, what crossroads? He did text me and go, I need bell down. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:19:13 He did text me asking which street she worked on and she has two spots that I see her work. and so I gave him both locations. All right, here we go again. Let's listen to the same clip and listen for the crinkle. What we got, what we got? What we got? High five.
Starting point is 00:19:30 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. What we got? What we got? That's what I'm talking about. The good. The good. That's the crinkle. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:19:38 Wait. How a good one. Okay, okay. Here's what we're going to do. I don't know. I feel, I don't know. You didn't hear the crinkle? I heard the crinkle.
Starting point is 00:19:44 I don't know what to expect. When I played the clip from my wife, she goes, oh my God, you hear the crinkle. Yeah, no, I hear the people. But also, are you playing rap music or somebody else? Like, right, I mean, it seems like lunchbox is like rolling up. Like, listen, listen. There's no, there's no music.
Starting point is 00:19:58 I have everything off because I'm recording, so I can't have anything in the background. True. Okay. You may hear my car rattle. No, no, no. And she handed you something. Oh, she handed me something, guys. This is real deal. Listen.
Starting point is 00:20:11 I don't know what it is. I'm like, I'm so nervous. I don't know if it's drugs or like a note that says, have a good day. Lunchbox, do you promise she handed you something? I promise. Were you shocked about what she handed you? Yes! I was like, oh my gosh!
Starting point is 00:20:29 And I was so, no. I was like, get out here, get out of here, get out of here. Do you want to reveal? Do you have it with you? I got it. You have it with you? Oh, you want me to bring it in? It's in the car.
Starting point is 00:20:40 Can we all try it? Wait, what is it? Okay, tell us. Okay, tell us. I got the picture of it. Okay, tell us. what it is and let me see the picture not telling me show me okay okay okay okay let me let me know okay okay okay okay yeah yeah y'all did I uncover a drug dealer oh my
Starting point is 00:21:08 god oh my is it you have that in your car I do I go get it why I saw I'll go get it okay okay okay I'll hand it to let me know I need to hand it to Amy I don't I don't I don't know if Amy wants to touch it I don't know if Amy wants to touch it I wouldn't I'll touch it That's what she said You can't do it to yourself Well then do it to me That's what she said
Starting point is 00:21:37 The Bobby Bones show Hey so There's a crossing guard in Amy's neighborhood Amy feels like the crossing guard is up to something Yeah I've just seen multiple transactions With other cars that are going really slow Because it's a school zone And I see they exchange something
Starting point is 00:21:53 And I don't know what So lunchbox went on the stakeout A day ahead of time watched her and watch transactions go down and I was like, okay, I got to get it on the action so I went back the next day. Now listen to the clip again because you will hear a crinkle. What we got, what we got?
Starting point is 00:22:11 What we got? High five. Yeah, yeah, yeah, what we got, what we got? That's what I'm talking about, the goods. That was a crinkle right there. Now you show me the picture of it. I have so many questions. Hey, let's show Morgan number two.
Starting point is 00:22:24 How did you know how much money to give her? Amy, I just had it in my hand. First time's free. Okay. Okay. Morgan number two is now looking at it. What is it? I don't even know what to say.
Starting point is 00:22:41 I know. Okay. Are you ready? Amy, are you ready to see it? Yeah, what is? You got to close your eyes. Close your eyes. Close your eyes.
Starting point is 00:22:49 Oh, yeah. She's going to get it. It's going to get a baggie. For sure in a baggie. No, I don't want you touching it. Oh. You can hold it in your hand, hold your hand open. If you can just look.
Starting point is 00:22:59 And we don't open your eyes yet. You don't need to touch it. And three. Close your eyes. Two. One, go. It's a peppermint. Are you serious?
Starting point is 00:23:11 This nice old lady is getting pissed to the neighbors. This nice old lady is trying to get her present. What is, are you serious? In recall news, pre-cut melon sold at Whole Foods, Kroger, and other stores has been recalled in nine states. 93 people have gotten sick so far. In other news, today's tax day. Your taxes are due today. Make sure you get them done or you could get a penalty.
Starting point is 00:28:07 And finally, congrats to Tiger Woods on winning the Masters. Bobby Boom, come on. We're talking about internet acronyms and how you say them in real life. Like if someone writes the letter L and the letter O, then the letter L. Laugh out loud. But you're saying L-O-L. Yes. Do you say it L-O-L or do you say at L-L?
Starting point is 00:28:28 Oh, I say L-O-L. 55% of people say L-O-L. There are people that go, I l-L. L-L, like, l-L. Yeah, L-O-L, they go, l-L. Have you said that, Bones? I feel like I've heard you say that. No, no, no, I don't.
Starting point is 00:28:40 What about W-T-F? Oh. What do you say? I say W-T-H. What the heck? Oh, my goodness. Oh, stop it. What?
Starting point is 00:28:54 It's an acronym. I know, but I still don't say. Only 14. percent of people actually say WTF. What do they say? What's the really one? Oh. Yeah. Left. Yeah. What to f. What to f. How about BRB? Yeah, be right back. B.R. B.R. Do you say B R back? No, BRB. 69% say BRB. 23% say B right back. Seven, seven percent say burb. Burb. Burb. Oh, you're going to give me these to hold up? Oh, that's a better idea. Okay, how about this one? this one.
Starting point is 00:29:29 Mike D's writing it down so I don't spoil it. Say what I would say. Oh. Id gaff. That's what you'd say? Do you know what that means? I don't say that one.
Starting point is 00:29:38 I don't know. Now I know what it means. Yes. I don't give a care. Well, it's IDGAF. Oh, the F again. And I would say IDGAF. 75% of people actually say it.
Starting point is 00:29:49 Like, I don't give a blank. 9% say IDGAF. That's what I would say. What do you, Morgan, number two, what would you say? If you were saying it out loud. ID GAF. ID GAF. Wow, weirdo.
Starting point is 00:30:00 That is strange. Like in a conversation, y'all say that? Yeah. What about this one? Oh, I don't even know what that stands for. To be honest, TBH. Oh. I was like, to be determined.
Starting point is 00:30:12 If you don't say it, you don't say it. I don't say it. Yeah, TBH. I would say to be honest. I would say to be h. I'd say to be honest. All right, one more. How do you say this one?
Starting point is 00:30:21 GIF. Morgan number two? Yeah, GIF. You know, I think I do too, but the real way is Jiff. I know. I know, but I say GIF too. It's GIF. I can't bring myself to say GIF because then it would have to be a J.
Starting point is 00:30:33 One more. How do you say this one? Oh, LMAO. You would say that? Morgan number two? I think I actually say the full thing of that one. Like laugh my butt off. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:46 77% of people say LMAO and 11% say LMAO. Who's saying it weird like that? I don't think I've ever said those words ever. LMAO? Or laugh my off. Yeah, that's a good point, Eddie. I guess don't really say it. I do say LOL.
Starting point is 00:31:00 You ever typed that though? Oh yeah, like that. Acronoms. All right. What's your most acronym? Amy, that you type.
Starting point is 00:31:06 I guess LOL. Yeah, and I did too. And I started to go just the smiley face with the laughing eyes with the tears. And then I was like, I want to keep it old school sometimes.
Starting point is 00:31:13 So I do LOLS. I do LOLs if it's multiple. Yeah. I like LOLs is funny. Do you guys capitalize when you're really LOLA? I always make my LOL capital. Oh.
Starting point is 00:31:24 My husband and I are most things. that we text back and forth is just see. What do you mean? Or copy. I would, oh, you know what? I was texting with your husband and he hit me with the C. And I was like, and I tried to tell him not every.
Starting point is 00:31:37 You can't just hit people with the C because they're going to think like, oh, what's the rest of your text? You just mean to send me that C? But no, he means like, he saw what you sent and copy. Roger that or whatever. I don't know. I thought he was picking an option. I was like, I didn't send you three options.
Starting point is 00:31:50 Polter pull choice. Yeah, I know what is this. Denny. How are you? Just listening to you guys from a. Australia, a long-time listener and absolutely love your show. So, yay. Thanks a lot.
Starting point is 00:32:06 You like country music out there? Oh, love it. Going to Nashville was actually one more bucket list, and I managed to achieve that in May last year. Over to the Opry, saw Trace and Garrius in action and just floated home. So, yeah, absolutely love it. You know, I'm going to name drop for a second, Amy, if you don't mind. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:28 Name drop! I was in Australia. with Keith Urban. Have you ever heard of him, Denny, Keith Urban? Yes. Okay. And I was like, hey, how big is country music over here? And he goes, is this not really?
Starting point is 00:32:40 He goes, it's kind of just on AM stations. And that he had to put out a pop song to really go up the charts. And I think Keith Urban got big on the voice or one of those shows. Like, maybe it's Australia's got talent or something. Is that what Keith Urban was on over there? Yeah, yeah. Look, country music generally on AM. There's very few FM stations, which is why.
Starting point is 00:33:01 go through I heart, so. Yeah, I was so surprised that he said that because he's freaking Keith Urban, but they put him on the pop channel. Like, he's so big over there. Yeah. He was like, yeah, and he said in most of the country that they play here is like banjo, like stuff we think about being 1940s. It's like Australian country country.
Starting point is 00:33:19 So, yeah, I thought that was pretty cool. But a lot of the newer artists go to Australia once a year and play and kind of bring that over. Denny, I appreciate that call. So you listen on AHA Radio? Yeah, definitely. Thanks a lot. Wait, and what time, is it tomorrow there?
Starting point is 00:33:34 Is it, what time, what time is it there right now? It's still today. Oh, good, good, good. What time is it over there? Quarter past 10. Okay, so. It's nighttime. Nighttime over there.
Starting point is 00:33:47 Okay. There you have it. Hey, well, thanks for that call. I appreciate that. Thanks for calling and thanks for listening. And, yeah, keep on. Keeping on. Okay, or that, or that.
Starting point is 00:33:57 Tony in Connecticut. Tony, how are you, bud? Good, man. What do you want to say? How you doing, Bobby? Good. We lost you a little bit. What do you want to say, Tony? I just want to say, I really appreciate what you guys are doing. I've been all over the world with the military and coming back home and finally I was listening to a country station and you came on.
Starting point is 00:34:22 And ever since then, I've always listened to you everywhere I go. I drive a truck all over the country and I try to always get you on the radio. But I'm very, my day goes out. lot better when I listen to you guys. I don't stress out on the road or anything like that. You guys, funny is all heck. Someday I'd love to go see you in concert. But, and then it's just I'm really thrilled.
Starting point is 00:34:47 But thanks, man. So how long were you in the military? I was 27 years. Wow. Whoa. And what branch were you in? I was in the Army. Come on.
Starting point is 00:34:58 Look at this. Look at Tony here. 27 years. Hey, so how was life after Surveillance? serving 27 years. When you go back to being a civilian. It was a little difficult because I was always used to getting up so early and doing the routine, you know, and when I got out, I was like, okay, what am I going to do?
Starting point is 00:35:18 Because I really didn't have a job. So it was a little on the boring side at home, so I just went back to what I did before. I just drive a truck. But at the beginning, it was a little cumbersome, but I got used to it. Man. I love my job now. Look at this guy. Tony served 27 years.
Starting point is 00:35:38 Now listen as he drives. Hey, I'm going to send you, I get some signed books up here that the book company sent me. You mind if I signed a book and put your name in it? Oh, I'd love it. All right, cool. Well, stay on the phone, Tony. Hey, we appreciate you for serving, appreciate you for listening. And I'm going to send you an autograph copy of my latest book, okay?
Starting point is 00:35:54 I appreciate. Thank you very much. You're welcome, Tony. Appreciate you, bud. My book is called Fail Until You Don't if you're looking for some light reading, light beach reading. Yeah. What would it be called light? Would it be considered light?
Starting point is 00:36:04 I think so light and... Heavy indeed. Not heavy. Light and inspirational. Thank you. Thank you very much. Well, there you have. I like that called.

Hadd his mat, the lad, got the booze is black to match. It's right. You can whip your porch. I've been in the valley. It's so good. Good for Keith Irvin. Listen, I'm totally on board of it being a country song because I believe if you say your country and your message is country, what are we just say you're not. And it, whatever. I'm not getting back into this. All right, Morgan number two, what else he got?
Starting point is 00:37:13 Thomas Rett had a super special moment with his daughter, Willa, after he got done sound checking one night on the road. Here's clip. We were in Australia the last month playing some shows, and I just got done doing sound check, and Willa gets out of the car, and she's like, Daddy, I'm so proud of you. The owner of us 7-Eleven in Toledo, Ohio, took a slightly different approach to dealing with a shoplifter. Jay Singh watched on surveillance as a teenager pushed up in his pockets.
Starting point is 00:41:53 He then went up to teen and was like, hey, man, why are you stealing? So the boy said this, I'm stealing for myself, I'm hungry. I'm also doing it from my younger brother. And it really wasn't what he expected when he confronted the kid. Either you think the kid runs or maybe fights back or something. Yeah. And so he said, hey, I'm not going to press charges. and he said, hey, take this, take some other pizzas,
Starting point is 00:42:13 give him some sandwiches, he said, you're not going to be charged, and this is from the owner of the 7-Eleven. It's not going to make any difference to me if I give him some food because we make a lot of food, we sell a lot of food. If he goes to jail, he's definitely not going to be able to do anything good in life,
Starting point is 00:42:27 and that's why I decided to help him. Oh, I love that. So I thought that was a good story. Yeah, and I wanted to share it. That's my Tell Me Something Good. That was Tell Me Something Good. Bobby Bone Show. Bored.
Starting point is 00:42:38 No hurry up the day. This story comes on us Pennsylvania. One thing you don't want to do is taunt police when you're a wanted woman. They put a picture of Chloe Jones on Facebook and said, we are looking for her. She is wanted. And she commented, do you guys do pick up in delivery? Ha, ha, ha. Oh, no. Wow, good for her. Someone else commented on the picture and they started arguing back and forth. And Chloe goes, they're never going to find me. I'm in West Virginia. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:43:06 And guess what? They called the police in West Virginia. Mortgantown picked her up. That's funny. Her first response was what again? Do you guys do pickup and delivery? Uh-huh. And then she told them where she was. Yeah, and then she goes, they're not going to find me. I'm in Morgantown, even.
Starting point is 00:43:22 Not Pennsylvania. Founder. There you go. I'm Lunchbox at your Bonehead story of the day. Folks, it's your buddy and mine. Mr. Bobby Bones. Let me. All right, welcome to another season of Amy versus Lunchbox.

Starting point is 00:45:11 Now make sure I'm saying this works right. String trimmer, hand trowel, errator, are types of what? String trimmer, aerator. I feel like you errate your yard, so yard things. Things for your yard? Yard tools? Yes, yard tools is the answer. There you go.
Starting point is 00:45:37 You got it the whole time. I would have consistently had to say, be more specific. My husband loves when our yard gets aerated. He gets really excited. I wasn't even sure to say it. I was like air. I just kind of mumble it out sometimes.
Starting point is 00:45:47 Everybody, you know. All right. Last one. This is the end. Pineapple Express and Neighbors are all movies starring what actor? Read it again. There's a question that's usually guys who know the answer to. This is the end.
Starting point is 00:46:08 Pineapple Express and Neighbors are all movies starring what actor? Ah! I don't want to give away things that I'm thinking because if Lunchbox doesn't know it, it can help him. But I feel like I need to say it. You have three seconds? Yeah, I know. I'm sorry, that's incorrect. Lunchbox, you can steal the point.
Starting point is 00:46:36 His name is Seth Rogan. There you go. Okay, good. I was for saying Jonah Hill. There you go. Oh, I wouldn't have known it anyway. It is now one to one as we go over to lunchbox. Bum, bum, bum.

Starting point is 00:49:35 On this day in country music. Today in 1999, which is 20 years ago, Vince Gill was involved in a fender bender. Vince's Volvo was rear-ended on West End Avenue in Nashville. The crash caused a three-car collision. luckily no one was hurt. However, while handling the paperwork, the driver who hit Vince Gill's car
Starting point is 00:49:59 gave him a tape, hoping Gil would record one of his songs. And that artist was John Party. What? Really? No. Actually, in case you're wondering, Vince Gill didn't record the song and he's like,
Starting point is 00:50:15 why are you giving me this right now? But I thought that'd be fun to throw in there. Oh, okay. All right, play me a love, Vince Gil, please. On this day, 20 years ago, Vince Gill got involved in a fender bender where someone tried to give them a tape. People will do that to me. Like, I was in Bakersfield this weekend with raging idiots, my band played a show.
Starting point is 00:50:41 And I'm just standing there meeting people. And someone comes up and puts their hands in my pocket and puts like a little hard drive in my pocket. Like, like, almost touch my manly man. You can't do that. You can't just put things in people's pockets. Yeah, because you're getting close to touching my stuff. And you can't do that anyway. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:59 I'm like Vince Gill in a lot of ways. Totally. Yeah. Starting point is 00:54:33 APUS. Dot E-D-U-S-Military. Today's National Titanic Remembrance Day. The boat sank on this day in 1912. If you ever look at that boat next to like a real big boat now, it looks like a tiny little boaty boat. Yeah. You ever see that where they show like a cruise liner next to the Titanic?
Starting point is 00:54:53 I have a four, and yeah, it doesn't seem that impressive. So here's some stuff about the Titanic. In the picture of the Titanic, there are four smokestores. stacks, only three of them worked. One of them was built just to make the ship look bigger. So a little bit of it. They were faking. A little bit of that fire fest syndrome going on. But they're like, let's just make this look cooler than it really is. Yeah. It collided with an iceberg and sank April 15th, 1912. While the Titanic carried over 2,200 people, there were only enough lifeboats for 1,200 of them if something were to go wrong.
Starting point is 00:55:30 Wow. So they didn't have a chance to begin with if something happened. So 2,200 could come on, but God forbid something goes wrong because only 1,200 you are getting off. The musicians on the ship were expected to know all 352 songs listed in a songbook, and that book was given to first class passengers so they can make requests for the music they wanted to hear. Every musician lost their live on the ship because they continued to play as the ship went down. because they were trying to call them the guests. Oh, yeah, that's right.
Starting point is 00:56:03 I remember that from the movie. You know what the most requested song on the ship was as the boat was going down? This one right here, Raymondo. Yeah. That's crazy. Yep. Like, that's just so crazy. I think he believes you.
Starting point is 00:56:28 What do you mean? With this 1912? Yeah, Saline Dion covered this later. Oh, she did? Yeah, see? They're lying. Then I almost believed you No lunchbox
Starting point is 00:56:40 It was not a real song I mean it is a real song But not from 1912 Listen to this So Milton Hershey The guy from Hershey Was supposed to be a passenger On the boat
Starting point is 00:56:53 But he was like I got to get to New York a bit earlier So last minute He bought an other ticket For another boat And got there earlier For business meetings There'd have been no Hershey Candy
Starting point is 00:57:04 Wow I feel like Wow Finally the remains of the Titanic Still are 12,000 feet beneath the surface Still sitting down there And if people go down they can see it Sometimes they'll go down and look and stuff
Starting point is 00:57:18 Oh wow Are that crazy? Anyway The boat sank On this day in 1912 There you go Titanic Remembrance Day Saw that
Starting point is 00:57:27 You know what I want to mention too There was this baby born with three parents Did you see this story? I didn't How is this possible That's why I thought too And I was like, am I going to click this? It's some sort of joke.
Starting point is 00:57:38 Fertility doctors said they've produced a baby from three people in order to overcome a woman's infertility. The baby was born away in six pounds last Tuesday. The doctors said they're making medical history. And then it's a whole ethical thing. But it uses egg from the mother, sperm from the father, and another egg from a donor woman. Because her egg couldn't work all the way,
Starting point is 00:57:58 but she was hoping that some of her egg can be involved so it'd kind of be genetically her baby. So they did it. It was developed to help families affected by a deadly mitochondrial disease, which is passed out from mother to baby. Wow. So they didn't just do it as an experiment. They were literally trying to help her.
Starting point is 00:58:13 Yeah. But the baby has three parents. Interesting. I thought that too. No other words? Yeah. I mean, was the other, so her egg just was there for, just to be there. Just chill.
Starting point is 00:58:27 It's just watching. Yes. Okay. Hmm, interesting. Amy's pile of stories. So custody disputes over pets have become so common in divorce negotiations that it's led to arise in pet nups. It's a type of prenuptial agreement that specifically details what would happen to a
Starting point is 00:58:47 couple's pet if they were to break up. You know, yeah. You know, earlier you had teased that we talked about this and I thought, what kind of ridiculous is it? But it's not because pets are a really big part of our life. And it makes me want to get a pet. before I get a girlfriend now because Then it's yours.
Starting point is 00:59:06 Then it's mine, mine. Mm-hmm. There's no... Not just mine, but mine mine. Yeah, like yours, yours. Then there's no like her trying to get it when you all break up. Because she probably would do that. I know her and that's exactly what she'd do.
Starting point is 00:59:19 Yeah. She's so shady like that. She doesn't exist yet, but I bet she'd be up to something like that. I was looking at Dalmatians over the weekend. Oh my gosh. Just online. I wasn't looking in person, but there were some rescues that have Dalmatians. I'm still trying to settle on what kind of dog I want.
Starting point is 00:59:36 Because here's my conundrum, okay? I'm struggling with, do I want a big dog that can keep the house? I have a backyard. He can run around. Or do I want a dog, not a paracilin's small dog, but a dog that's pretty small enough because I travel so much that I could take with me when I travel. Yeah, that is quite the predicament.
Starting point is 00:59:58 That's right. So what do you think about that? Because, again, I'm not starting to get a little peony pie. boo-boo-boo. But if you get a dog that's 22 pounds, you can probably travel with them. Right. Well, you never traveled with Dusty, really. He was a little too big. And I did later on the tour bus,
Starting point is 01:00:18 but... Did you wish that you could, or was it... Absolutely. Okay, well, then maybe that answers. But also, but my jobs weren't the same than either. I would just go do one-off days of doing, you know, little to, you know, small things. Now actually I'm on, you know, legitimate shows on the West Coast. So it's like I'm gone for, like, I haven't gone for five days at this point.
Starting point is 01:00:37 So taking your dog with you would be, otherwise you're not going to have a connection with your dog. He's going to be like, who's this guy that comes in and pets me sometimes and leaves again? I don't want to be that guy. Maybe you need to find some sort of like a pocket Dalmatian. Well, Dalmatian was just what I looked at. Lunchbox, before you think about this. Oh, I say you get one of each.
Starting point is 01:00:56 That way you have one at home and then you also have a road dog. But the one on the road gets all the attention. Yeah, I can't. And I'm not getting two dogs. But that's... I mean, yeah. You could get, like, the big version of one and then the smaller version. Yes, that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:01:09 Same exact dog, we get the mini kind. Like, I have a lapardoodle and they make mini ones. But then only one's getting all the love. And I'm not doing that. Like, I got one dog. All right? I don't have it yet. But I can tell he'd be sad if I left him home.
Starting point is 01:01:24 And I took his brother with me. That's true. That's all. That's my dog. I think the petting up thing, more so than just getting a petting up. I think you can put it inside in the agreement. if you are doing a pre-up that so-and-so gets that dog. Right.
Starting point is 01:01:36 All right. What else you got? So Life Serial is looking for its next Mikey and your kid could audition. Quakers, Mikey likes it ad for Life Serial. It was one of the longest running ads in history. It came out in 1972 and ran for more than 12 years. It's one of the most famous ads ever. I definitely remember seeing it as a kid.
Starting point is 01:01:54 So Mikey was just like this little kid who would eat the cereal and like, Mikey likes it? I mean, it was a long time ago. Oh, long. What other ads had last, like Jared, the subway guy? But that lasts at a long time. We don't talk about that anymore. I mean, but I mean, who felt a whole career off of that? Yeah, I wonder, where's Mikey now?
Starting point is 01:02:16 Hmm. Probably not with Jared. Hopefully not. So anyway, Quaker is looking for some sort of a Mikey commercial reboot. And again, like I said, your kid could be the next Mikey. They're looking for kids between ages 4 and 8, boys and girls. and they posted a four-line script to audition with. Do you have it?
Starting point is 01:02:36 Well, yeah, I have the script. Let Lunchbox read it because I think Lunchbox could be a candidate for this. Oh, yeah. And just so you know, Mikey is now working for MSG Network. Whatever they did. Is it on TV? Matt, it's in New York. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:49 He's not on TV, but he's behind the scenes. You'll see this script like bottom of the page-ish. Okay. Here's Lunchbox auditioning for the Mikey commercial. Shake's head. I won't like it. I don't like anything. Looks mad, stares at bowl, picks up spoon and sighs.
Starting point is 01:03:05 Okay, fine, I'll try it. Looks apathetic and then pretends to eat cereal out of bowl. Suddenly smiles. Mmm. I like it. I really like it. I really like life. And seen.
Starting point is 01:03:22 I mean, not bad, not bad. What do you mean? That was pretty good. But. You're also an adult man. Who here actually really? likes life cereal. No, I do. I do. Oh, my gosh, so good.
Starting point is 01:03:35 Not me. Bobby, what about cinnamon life? I can do that. I like it. I really, really like it. It sounds like, life. It sounds like you're reading from a script. Well, I mean, it was the first time I was been put in front of me. Sometimes you got a rip and read, man. I did. If you're going to be a real actor, you just got to go. What does rip and read mean? It means like in the old days, you would rip it out of a book, like a, like a,
Starting point is 01:03:57 like a script. No, yeah, sure. A script or like a binder. Like the news would go, okay, here's the news. And they're like, you need to do the story. They rip it out and then they would just read it. Like, there's no time to look at it. You just got to go on camera and do it.
Starting point is 01:04:09 Oh. Yeah. Rip and read. I thought you did good, lunchbox. Thank you. I thought you did good, too. Okay, fine. I thought you did good too, lunchbox.
Starting point is 01:04:18 Oh, man. I really liked it. I really liked your read. All right, what else, Amy? So, new survey valid that the person who's most likely to derailed your attempt to be healthy is? Oh, let me get. it's got to be your spouse. That's a really good one.
Starting point is 01:04:37 Yeah, whoever your significant other is. Definitely, I could see that being at top of the list, but really, it's yourself. Oh, that doesn't count. Of course it's yourself. Yourself's what's wrong with everything. Oh, yeah, you were talking about that. Well, I thought maybe you could have, no, some people, like you have impressive willpower, Bobby. You are not the one that derails yourself.
Starting point is 01:04:58 If somebody's derailing you, I don't know. Whatever. Do you ever derail? Yeah, of course I do. When I'm out of my, my strength is putting myself in situations where I can thrive. Like right now I'm on the road. I'm not thriving and I'm not in these similar environments every day.
Starting point is 01:05:17 I need to be in a pattern, in a pattern. I put myself in patterns. And so my food's not right. Well, one of the biggest things they say right now is an excuse for people is that we have this like, treat yourself mentality. Which we shouldn't. Stop treating yourself. You're treated just fine.
Starting point is 01:05:31 But it's like, oh, okay, you know, I did this good, so I should treat myself. And then you get like all the, you know, the pancakes, the waffles, the whatever, buy whatever. This is my, it's how I live my life. How? Wow, you did good. You know what your treat is? Is that if you don't go eat a waffle, you're going to feel better tomorrow. Like, you've been working hard.
Starting point is 01:05:51 If you don't eat that cookie, you're going to feel even better tomorrow and all that work's going to really pay off. That's how I feel. Yeah. And then I do math on everything. You know that. Like, I go, I can eat this piece of cake. and feel good for 40 minutes. Or I cannot eat this piece of cake
Starting point is 01:06:04 and kind of be like, dang, I wish you had that cake for 20 to 30 minutes, but then for eight hours ago, I'm so proud of myself for not eating that cake. And so I just weigh time. Yeah, which I think is a good,
Starting point is 01:06:14 like people could pick up on that and use it for themselves. I think it's a good. And there's a whole book about it called Fail until you don't. I wrote it. Check it out. New York Times bestseller.
Starting point is 01:06:22 Yeah, there you go. All right, I'm Amy. That's my pile. That was Amy's Pile of Stories. Starting point is 01:10:04 It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. So there's this girl, Rebecca, and she's got this sweet little dog. They go on a walk every morning. But she lives near a golf course. And without her knowing it, her dog had started to eat golf balls. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 01:10:22 Yeah. But again, she had no idea. Then all of a sudden, the golf ball. started to take a toll on his body and started becoming lethargic. So she was like, I got to take him to the vet. Well, an x-ray showed five golf balls right there in his belly. And the vet had to perform this super special surgery to remove them all. Wow.
Starting point is 01:10:40 And now the dog is expected to make a full recovery. That's crazy. Those x-rays sometimes when you see things in their both. Even humans. Yeah. Those are crazy. Like, say a pair of scissors inside someone's like, like, wait. It's like, how did I get there?
Starting point is 01:10:52 Yeah. Ah, good for that vet. Good for that dog. Good for her. That's what it's all about. was tell me something good. Folks, it's your buddy and mine. Mr. Bobby Bones.
Starting point is 01:11:01 Let me. Translid. Over to Amy with a joke. Here we go. The morning corny. What famous person can fix a suit really fast. What famous person can fix a suit really fast? Taylor Swift.
Starting point is 01:11:27 That's good. I clap at that one. There we go. Nice job. There it is. That was the morning corny. Did you see any of the news about Disney Plus over the weekend? Oh, I saw some headlines about it, yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:43 It really is going to be fantastic. And so this is just a start of it. So, and by the way, it comes out in November, which people, and I can tell you this, I work for ABC now, and I was even hearing it was until 2020. And so Disney Plus is not just Disney moot, not just Disney Disney, but they own ABC, right? So Disney's all that, ESPN, ABC. all Disney. And so what they've announced so far, Disney
Starting point is 01:12:07 Plus will include access to all the Marvel movies. A lot of new Marvel shows that are like side shows of a lot of the movies. That's stuff that I like. You know how they would have like The Punisher and Jessica Jones? Yeah. They have all these new ones that are coming out. Star Wars, the entire Disney animation vault,
Starting point is 01:12:24 National Geographic, the Simpsons, and this is just a start. This means no other streaming company will have the rights to air any of these shows that Disney has whatsoever other than Disney Plus and it's $6.99 a month about 60 to 90 million subscribers are expected it's so much bigger than I thought it was going to be and it's not even really to where it's going to be. Yeah I think that's something our family will do and get out of for $699 a month
Starting point is 01:12:54 because the kids and Disney just the Disney stuff. Yeah. But I can tell you they're talking to me about shows that have nothing to do with what's here now when they possibly relaunch other things. You know, they're like, oh, this would be a great show for Disney Plus later down the line. Oh, cool. So I don't think anything's going to be a Netflix killer. No, if anything, I see it as like just an addition to Netflix and then getting rid of like our massive cable bill and then just paying like little subscriptions here and there that don't even add up to what we pay for cable. For now. You're going to see, like I mentioned NBC Universal, I think it's going to launch one.
Starting point is 01:13:33 You're going to have, it's going to be all subscription services, and you can pick which ones you want. And I agree, it's not going to be what the cable bill is now for us that are paying, what just seems like too much for cable. Because it is. You look at your cable and you're like, what am I paying for? I don't even watch most of these channels. Yeah. So, yeah, I saw that over the weekend. I thought it's pretty cool.
Starting point is 01:13:57 You know what show there? I don't know if I should talk about that. well there's a well there's a I turn down a show that doesn't have to do at Disney that's a pretty good show idea and I'm kind of like oh man it's gonna be a good show but I had to turn it down to host it
Starting point is 01:14:12 you ever watch Hollywood Squares? Yeah so good they're not doing like a country version oh why did you have turned it down I just I have it's gonna be I know it's gonna be a good show but my I just can't do it
Starting point is 01:14:26 I can't do it but like I'm pretty excited about the show even if I'm not on it because I used to love Hollywood squares. We had a big meeting and it was like, I don't think I can do it. I had to pass on it which hurt me a little bit. So it's going to be just country people? I think they're going to do hip-hop squares too.
Starting point is 01:14:41 Like a different one. I think on these on cable networks. Yeah. I think it's a pretty good idea. I like it. I wish I could do it. But I cannot do it. But you know what I watched? I watched Queer Eye, another episode over the weekend. Yeah, did this one make you cry? No, but it was good. It didn't make me cry. They're all good and heartwarming.
Starting point is 01:14:58 I cried when Tiger Woods one that masters. You did? Well, I guess because he's hugged his dad and then he hugged his son. His dad is dead, but they showed a clip of him hugging his dad back 20 years ago. I saw him not his mom. Well, then he hugged a son who wasn't alive whenever
Starting point is 01:15:13 it was just a whole thing. And then also I'm like, why am I rooting for Tiger? Like, notoriously he's not that good of a dude. Like, just from talking to other friends at no tie. But, like, everybody rooos for Tiger. For some reason, I love Tiger. My husband was like yelling at the TV and then anytime he would say anything. He would like only say Tiger Woods. And I was like, I get it. You can
Starting point is 01:15:33 just say Tiger Woods. He's like, no, it just rolls off the tongue. He's like Tiger Woods this, Tiger Woods is that. Oh my gosh. Like everything. We were rewinding. Like, oh, it was so much. And I was like, also, can we talk about how Tiger just needs to shave his head? Oh, because he's kind of bald on top of like awkwardly a little bit bald? It's just awkward. Like, why doesn't he just embrace it and shave his head? Like when
Starting point is 01:15:51 everybody live their own life. Oh, I know. But like, I just, you know, he takes his head off and I'm like, what? What? Well, I oddly cried when he won. I was watching, and I was like, good for him. He's been through a lot. It just shows you, because this dude hurt. He's had, I think, four back surgeries, four knee surgeries.
Starting point is 01:16:09 I thought he's going to quit golf. Just freaking kept, just hung in there. Anyway. So what's the, like, I get it. It's just like he's really, really good. Like, I get that he's really, really good. And he came back. Like, he was really good.
Starting point is 01:16:23 And then he was really bad. And then he got hurt. And then he had to take time off. And then now he's like, it's crazy that he came back and won again. Well, because of the gap. It was 11 years. 11 years. He won his last major.
Starting point is 01:16:33 And he's chasing, you know, the greatest of all time. But people said he'd never win. And so it's like, okay. Yeah, I mean, you can't. I was into it. I was crying. I was like, you know what else I cried? I watched a Ted Williams documentary on Nat Geo on Netflix.
Starting point is 01:16:46 Cried at that. Ted Waste played baseball for the Red Sox back in the day. I was going to ask, who's Ted? He's a bad dude, too. He's just like a jerk. He wasn't a bad dude. But he was a jerk, and you realize people that are jerks are jerks because they had it so tough growing up.
Starting point is 01:16:58 up as kids and they had to develop this hardcore. I was crying like a bell. All I do is cry. What's wrong with me? Yeah, what's happening? I mean, I like it because you're like in touch with another side of yourself these days. Yeah, I need to stop. Starting point is 01:21:00 How did you do that? Well, I didn't do anything. Well, I know. Here's why they like me an American Idol, not because of any special skill set that I have, but I'll just be honest. And they came up to me and said, hey, you always have opinions. Do you want to predict who's going home? And I was like, well, why not?
Starting point is 01:21:21 Okay. Which could be awkward if they don't go home and have to mentor them the next week, because I do spend a lot of time with these contestants off the key. camera and off the mic. Talking about things like when the camera swooping around and if your eyes don't catch it, don't struggle to find it because then you look awkward. Or just little things like that, even song choice and how to arrange songs sometimes. So I'm working with them on a lot of stuff, but they were like, hey, why don't you? Because all the judges are nice. They're super nice. And I think, honestly, I'm nicer than all the judges. But I also am not afraid to put myself out
Starting point is 01:21:51 there and just have an opinion. And so they approached me and said, hey, would you mind? and I said, no, I'll say, I don't care. Okay. So anyway, tonight on America. Unless they're like running so late on time, which I don't think so, it'll be a live show tonight on American Idol. They want me to predict who's going to go home.
Starting point is 01:22:09 Wow. There are 14 people and they're cutting four people tonight. So it goes to 10. Okay. So, yeah, that's going to happen tonight. American Idol. Hope you watch that, which is tomorrow on the show, Lunchbox reveals his income tax returns.
Starting point is 01:22:25 You have your last five years of taxes? I got three because I don't want to give away too much because if the IRS is listening, I don't want to give the exact dates and mounts. They can go back and research. Well, they can research it anyway. But okay. Three years ago, how much was your refund? It was 11,000. Okay.
Starting point is 01:22:45 Two years ago, how much was your refund? 9,364. And then last year, your IRS refund was? 11,234. Was that a record? That was the highest, I believe, that I've ever gotten, yes. So the guy's getting $11,000 back from his taxes last year, and tomorrow he'll tell us how much he's getting back this year.
Starting point is 01:23:06 And, I mean, guys, I had a kid this year, so it should be going up, but they've been making changes on the laws, so I'm just letting you know, it's going to be awesome. I'm working the corners, you know, trimming some hedges and dotting some eyes and changing some numbers. It's going to be fun. I don't think trimming some hedges is really an expression, but I can appreciate your attempt at that. To each their own.
Starting point is 01:23:28 Yeah. Tomorrow morning at this time lunchbox reveals his taxes. By the way, we've been saying for years he'll go to jail for this. But every year he comes back with a really high number and every year he stays out of the big house, right, him? Yep. And guys, if you don't get your taxes done today, you need to file an extension or else you're going to the big house. Is that true? Yeah, you got to get it done today or else you get in trouble.
Starting point is 01:23:47 Yeah, today's tax day. I did mine so long ago. I'm just, as soon as I got my stuff, tax is done. that's how I live my life though you know nobody's surprised by that yeah no one's surprised no one Mr. Bobby doesn't leave it to the last minute like as soon as that W2 came out Bobby's like done 20 minutes later done
Starting point is 01:24:05 submitted haters I had a good weekend the raging idiots played in Bakersfield the raging idiots are my band and we have this song called Chick-fil-A but it's Sunday wrote it a long time ago and we play it and I forget that people know the words our song sometimes and it goes I want Chick-fil-A
Starting point is 01:24:24 but it's Sunday. I want the fries that are made a waffle, but now I'm feeling awful. And the whole story is that you go to Chick-fil-A on a Sunday, and it's just not there for you. It's the one day you want it. Anyway, I want to play a little clip from it. We can't even hear ourselves sing because everybody's like singing it
Starting point is 01:24:36 so loud back to us. That's cool. And it's just from someone's iPhone. Here's a clip. It's so weird because we have these ear monitors that seal off the outside so you can hear the mix in your ear. We don't hear people singing our songs. I just think nobody's singing going, what's happening?
Starting point is 01:25:03 But, man, they were singing them. It was fun. Shout out to everybody in Bakersfield. So did that over the weekend. Game of Thrones was on last night. You know what annoys me the most? People don't want to brag about them not watching Game of Thrones. Because they're so counterculture.
Starting point is 01:25:18 I don't watch Game of Thrones. I'm counterculture. Yeah. As you get on your iPhone and then you're surrounded by all your Amazon packages. You're so counterculture. You know, you can just not make a fuss about what you don't watch. I got to tell you, I don't know I've ever made a fuss about something I don't do. Yeah, I don't watch it, but I wasn't, I don't feel cool because I don't watch it.
Starting point is 01:25:37 Actually, I feel kind of like, man, I wish a long time ago I had gotten into it. And now it's just too much. It's too much. I can't go back. But like, I have friends that are really, really into it, including you, Bobby. And I'm like, I just, and my husband, he's into it. But I just, I'm like the, I feel like the odd one out. It's the most annoying thing with someone brags about not doing something that everybody does.
Starting point is 01:26:01 It doesn't make you cooler. I'm too cool for it. If you don't do it, just don't talk about it. Yeah, Lunchbox is, he actually probably doesn't order from Amazon either. Yeah, I bet he does. Yeah, I do it every once a while. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Everyone's a while.
Starting point is 01:26:16 I picture him being like. And Lunchbox, are you on, do you have Netflix? Yeah, I use an account. Okay, yeah. My point is everybody's always like, I'm not for it. Stop. You just want to be heard. Anyway, so watch that last night.
Starting point is 01:26:29 They're good. Everything's good. Everything's good. Game of Thrones. Yay, it's back. Winter is coming. You watch teen mom, like nobody. I've ever seen in my life.
Starting point is 01:26:38 That's right. Loves it. But you know what you do? You make fun of me for it because your counterculture. Everybody's watching it. I don't know the teen moms ever set like viewing records. And I make fun of it not because people watch that show, but because you're an adult man obsessed with teenage girls having babies.
Starting point is 01:26:54 But they're not teenagers anymore. But they were. They were. Now they're in their mid-20s. And they got like three kids or four kids. But I'm saying you like fell in love with them as teenagers, right? And you like know all this stuff about giving birth because of that show. And you like waited in line for how long to meet one of them?
Starting point is 01:27:11 Probably an hour. Macy book out. She was in town for a book signing and I went to Barnes & Noble and I sat in line and I got to meet her and have a conversation with her and it was so awesome. And she's famous because why? She was on 16 and pregnant and then she became a teen mom. Because she's famous because she was a teenager and had a baby. Yeah. Cool.
Starting point is 01:27:29 All right. Anyway, I think that's pretty much it. Tomorrow morning lunchbox reveals his taxes. Bones show. It's time for another round of And Lunchbox, guess your weight. This is Rosa in Alabama. Hey, Rosa.
Starting point is 01:27:48 Hey. Good morning to you. Good morning to you, Bobby. Now, you've heard this segment before where Lunchbox can talk to you and get your weight within five pounds, right? Yes. It's a little nutty, but we love it, and here he is.
Starting point is 01:28:00 Welcome back to Losea. He's ready to go. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, Rosa, Lunchbox has 30 seconds to talk to you. Have we ever met Rosa, by the way? No. Okay, good. So there's that.
Starting point is 01:28:10 You're not related to lunchbox. You and I haven't met. No way to tip anybody off. Lunchbox, you have 30 seconds and begin. Rosa, how do you like your eggs? I don't eat eggs. What do you put on your pizza? Cheese and pepperoni and sausage.
Starting point is 01:28:25 Okay. Are you a yes watermelon person or no watermelon person? Yes. And what is your favorite thing? Chicken fried steak. What's your favorite dinner? My favorite dinner is going to have a lot of. dinner is going to have to be chicken
Starting point is 01:28:38 Alfredo. Okay, and how many times a week do you go to the gym? None. Oh, sorry, there you go. Lunchbox, you got to guess what? How do you feel? Rosa, you feel like you're pretty good? You're going to get him? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:51 Yeah. If you get him, you get a prize. Lunchbox? Listen, Rosa, you're a beautiful lady. I like you a lot. You're from Alabama. And you jump on the scale and you see 137. He says 137.
Starting point is 01:29:02 1037. Rosa, what do you weigh? Within 5 pounds, what do you weigh? I weigh 134 Oh One for one The guy hasn't missed in like two months Which is crazy
Starting point is 01:29:16 Let's go over and talk to Amanda in Florida Amanda this is like the circus in the 20s You'd go up to the guy And he'd be like, I'll guess you wait If I can't get you wait I'll eat a hat Or whatever he would do back then Lunchboxes won't eat a hat But he will eat some crow
Starting point is 01:29:28 Because he claims to be the best Are you ready to play this? Amanda in Florida She's so ready You've heard this And now, do we know you by any chance? Not at all. First time of color.
Starting point is 01:29:38 All right, lunchtime caller. Amanda? Amanda from Florida. Amanda, who's your favorite country artist? Martina McBride. And when's the last concert you've been to? Um, oh, shoot. Good one.
Starting point is 01:29:53 Oh, gosh. I'm stuck. Okay, favorite TV show of all time. Right now it's last man on earth. Hilarious. What did she say? Hey, man. What is your favorite cereal?
Starting point is 01:30:04 Let's say Captain Crunch And what is your favorite fast food restaurant? I'm sorry, that's time Why are you looking so frustrated? I mean, she was avoiding the questions. Oh, you think she's icing you out. Yeah, she was like Amanda, how do you feel about it?
Starting point is 01:30:20 Come on. There's an accusation. No, no, no. Whoa. Go ahead. Amanda. But can I tell him the concert one because I just had totally forgotten?
Starting point is 01:30:28 All I know is there's an accusation of you freezing him out. And we don't like the game to be tainted, Amanda. Oh, I tainted. Yeah, yeah, a little tainted. That's okay, lunchbox, you know what? But you know what? When there's, what is it called, adversity?
Starting point is 01:30:42 Yeah. You got to rise above it. Oh, okay. You got to go down to Florida. Wow. You got to say Amanda get on the scale. Oh, whoa. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:50 And I bet you you weigh 128. He says 128. Amanda, what do you weigh? 130. Yeah! Let's get a Brittany in Kansas. Brittany. Let's play a guest.
Starting point is 01:31:12 You're away with lunchbox. Are you ready? I'm ready. Um, lunchbox. Are you ready? Yeah, I'm ready. You have 30 seconds and... Action.
Starting point is 01:31:24 What's your name? Brittany. Brittany. How many kids do you have? He's off his game right now. Five. Five kids? Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:31:32 What's your best friend's name? Selby and Allie. And what is your husband's name? Scott. What do you do for a living? I work at a bank. I'm sorry. It's time.
Starting point is 01:31:45 I know. I know. Go ahead, lunchbox. She's got five kids, guys. Yeah. What does that mean? I don't know if you can recover after five kids. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 01:31:54 That's kind of rude. I mean, I just don't know if you can recover. She lives in Kansas. How rude? Shelby's her best friend. Yeah, I forgot the other one. Her husband Scott. Ah. Yeah, her cousin Wilber.
Starting point is 01:32:05 Has to be 121. 121. What are you way, Brittany? Oh, that's 120. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Three, three, three, three, three, three.
Starting point is 01:32:15 Three, four, three, three, three, three four three. It's time for the good news. With lunchbox. Tell me something good. A doctor in Tampa was at work one day when she starts talking to the office manager says, oh, how are you doing today? And the office manager just says, you know, I'm not really feeling very well. My kidneys are bad.
Starting point is 01:32:37 I need a kidney transplant. I've been on the waiting list for a year, and I haven't really told anybody. The doctor goes and gets tested. Wow. is a match and donates a kidney to the office manager and they are both recovering well. That's crazy. Crazy, first of all, that that discussion led to the doctor going, let me see if I. But then the match, it's also a really big deal.
Starting point is 01:32:58 Yeah. Wow, that's a good one. That was Tell Me Something Good. On the Bobby Bone Show now. Caroline Hobby is. Come on over here. Sit right over here, Caroline. Nobody clapped.
Starting point is 01:33:11 Why is that the only one he's clapped? Oh, hey, Caroline. Thank you. Thank you. That's some headphones for you. Caroline Hobbies here, which, by the way, she has a new podcast that is out today. Yes. Called Get Real with Caroline Hobby.
Starting point is 01:33:23 Honest Women, Honest Talk. And you can get it wherever you listen to your podcast. What do you have? This is for you? I already got Amy one. Straight greens. Oh, is that where you got yours? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:33:32 You know what? I got to be honest. And we're friends so I can say this. I don't really like all green. Wait. That was an Amy recommendation. I thought that you wouldn't want the sugar from the fruit. But I like greens if there's like a dab of like orange or apple.
Starting point is 01:33:45 No, you miss a fruit. This clean juice one, it's good, trust me. Let me say who Caroline Hobby is, by the way. You have a lot. There's a lot to your resume. Oh, good. Okay, good. By the way, country artists used to be in the band Stealing Angels.
Starting point is 01:33:58 And so here's a clip of... He better be dead. Oh, God. You're on Amazing Race twice. Yes, we almost won. We got second place the second time we were on it. We lost by four seconds. With June from Runaway June.
Starting point is 01:34:10 Lunchbox, did you like her on that show? Oh, amazing. I was ready to marry her. Amazing. Actually, I think we met because of Amazing Race because you watched it and then you like said hide him in an airport. Yes.
Starting point is 01:34:20 And then all y'all were there. Then that's how it's like I got to meet the whole fam family. Now I remember when Lunchbox saw Carolina at the airport and he was like freaking out. He's like, I have to go say how to her. I have to go say how to her. I have to go talk to her. And so we did.
Starting point is 01:34:31 I know. So you're in a country group. Yeah. Stealing Angels. Then you're on Amazing Race twice. Mm-hmm. You're also married to Michael Hobby, the lead singer of 1,000 Horses.
Starting point is 01:34:40 Now you have this show called Get Real with Caroline Hobby. I want to play a clip first. This is you and Caroline Bryan. You talked to a lot of country singer's wives. Yeah. What's that angle about? Why that?
Starting point is 01:34:57 Okay, so it kind of just started because a lot of them are my friends because I'm married to a country singer. And so we sort of have this network of women that get together and hang out and just like literally when our husbands are gone and we like just do white nights and chill and watch The Bachelor and all sorts of stuff.
Starting point is 01:35:14 And so I was like, The people from my podcast that I interview are just sort of people that I do life with. And so I was like, I'm going to do a series on all these wives that I'm friends with. And then it just sort of grew. And now that's when I really decided to focus on women. Because all these women are married to these great men. But you don't really hear so much about the women as you do the men. And they're so interesting.
Starting point is 01:35:38 So I was like, let's focus on them. Here's a clip where she's talking to Caroline Bryan, Luke Bryan's wife. So I go off to college and he and I dated since we were in the eighth grade. Oh my gosh. So we agreed to We agreed to go our separate ways and just see what was out there. So that's terrifying in itself.
Starting point is 01:35:55 Yeah, so I didn't know. Luke was the second guy I'd ever kissed him in my life. So this is a whole podcast of you and Caroline Brian. And it is Luke care. It's Luke like, Caroline. He came in in the beginning and before we started recording it. And the thing I also really have loved about this podcast
Starting point is 01:36:13 with the wives is there's so. vulnerable and honest because I'm just like baby stuff. I'm pregnant right now. And we were going through like baby struggles and miscarriages. And Caroline wanted to share all her information about her struggles too. And Luke was like, oh yeah,
Starting point is 01:36:30 you got to talk about that because Caroline had a miscarriage. She's like, you got to talk about that. You got to share that information. And then he was like so funny. He took pictures of us and was just hanging out. Just fixing his truck outside. Didn't care. Just chilling. The new episode that's out today, by the is with Jana Kramer. And you guys talk
Starting point is 01:36:45 about babies and miscarriages and navigating marriage and career. I'm going to play a clip real quick. This is Caroline Hobby with Jana Kramer on her first marriage. I got my anxiety post a bad relationship. Okay, early on. I was 20. It was abusive relationship. So I became really like, I had really bad PTSD. Well, long story short, he was the one that I married in Vegas when I was 19 years old. I did a drive-thru. I knew him for two weeks. Super classic Jana Kramer love story. So I'm going to say this again. We're going to come back in a second. It's called Get Real with Caroline Hobby, honest women, honest talk.
Starting point is 01:37:20 So whenever our show's over today, I suggest you go and subscribe to this and listen to them. On the Bobby Bone Show now, Caroline Hobby. All right, Caroline Hobbies here. She has a new show called Get Real with Caroline Hobby, honest women, honest talk. We talked about you're on Amazing Race. We talked about you were in Stealing Angels, your husband's Michael Hobby from A Thousand Horses. What we haven't talked about is your dad also did my teeth. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 01:37:44 Yes. And Amy's. Yes. Yeah. Yes. Oh, yeah. Who went first? Me or you?
Starting point is 01:37:50 You. Oh, did I? Yeah. And they look so good, you guys. I get a lot of compliments on my teeth. Well, thank gosh. You got them done before you became this big old TV star. Well, I don't know about big old or star.
Starting point is 01:38:00 But, yeah, her dad did my teeth. The crazy thing about Carolyn Harvey's dad is, like, he was attacked in the water. A shark. A shark. A shark. A shark. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 01:38:09 And you would think that that would be like a very traumatizing. one of those events that you were, like, you weren't excited that happened to you. But my dad is such an adrenaline junkie that he was, once he, like, lived through it all, he was so stoked that he got this, like, shark attack because it got on his face, but his leg. How does a shark attack a human? Okay. Like, what happened to him? You shouldn't really be afraid because really there's a little human error involved with this.
Starting point is 01:38:36 So we go spear fishing. We go to the Bahamas every summer. We've been doing it since I was, like, five. It's like our family tradition. Michael and I actually loped in Bahamas. So, like, we've been doing there for as long as I can remember. And we always go spear fishing, and we have a guide that goes with us. And, okay, so my brother-in-law and my, in the guide, are very much all about following protocol.
Starting point is 01:38:55 Like, when you stick together as a team and when you spear, like, two fish, you get out of the water because sharks come immediately. But my dad always likes to be the lone ranger, and he doesn't want to be with the group because he wants to have his own little area to get his own fish. He doesn't want to have to be, like, competing with everyone else. So Willie and Marcus saw the shark, and they immediately got out of the water. No one could find my dad, though, because he's like yards away on his own, and he didn't know the shark was coming. And so the shark was like looking for blood and basically was hit my dad on accident trying to get the fish. So he like bit your dad? Yeah, and the face and the leg.
Starting point is 01:39:34 The face? How was your dad so low? I mean, I don't understand how you're standing up or was the water up to his neck? There's all the way in, right? Yeah, you're kind of just like floating on top of the water, but these sharks go in like 20 feet water and they'll like swim up to get the fish. They're not scared of the surface. Dad was attacked by a shark. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:39:51 You got to be kidding me. Yeah. Caroline Hobbies here. Check out her podcast. Get Real with Caroline Hobby. What was that amazing race like the first time that you did it? It was so much fun. It was probably the most adrenaline, like constant adrenaline I've ever had because you can't turn it off.
Starting point is 01:40:09 you have to be in race mode 24 hours of the day. Like you're sleeping, eating, breathing this race mentality. And you don't know who's forming alliances. You don't know who's like on your side. And so you kind of always just have to be so on that it was, I had like PTSD. Is that how you say PTSD afterwards for like a month? Just like coming down off this adrenaline. But it was so cool traveling the world.
Starting point is 01:40:33 And Jen and I had made an agreement before we started that we were always going to assume the best in each other. and we weren't going to fight and we weren't going to be like those people that get together and just like tear each other apart because if you self-combust within your own team
Starting point is 01:40:44 that's hurting yourself so much more against the rest of the other teams out there so we're like okay we're always going to support each other we're always going to believe that we tried our best and we're just going to like do as best we can
Starting point is 01:40:55 because we're two girls and there's like all these strong guys so we already had the odds against us but I think our positivity really got us far and we just like laugh the whole time always had a blast with each other never took it too seriously
Starting point is 01:41:07 but worked our butts off and traveled the world. It was amazing. And your partner was Jen Wayne who's in Runaway June. Yeah. And so how long is the tape, how long is the actual race on Amazing Race? You're gone for three weeks. And you're just gone.
Starting point is 01:41:20 It's like, go, you take off running. When they did that thing, like go. Yeah. You run. And then even if you kicked off, they put you in a hotel and you have to stay there until everyone's done. Sequester.
Starting point is 01:41:28 Uh-huh. And what kind of money did they pay you for that? Well, it really is dramatic based on what place you get. Oh, they pay you tiered? It's tiered. Wow. So when you finish second though, you had to make some decent money. You would think because first place is a million dollars. So we were four seconds away from first place and a million dollars, which would have been so sweet.
Starting point is 01:41:46 Second place is $25,000 and you split this two ways. So it's like $12,000 after taxes, we got like $9,000. It went from a million to $25,000. Uh-huh. Man, second place. Wow, I was about, can you believe that? I honestly thought you'd be like, $1,000. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:42:02 You would think it wouldn't be so dramatically different. That's dramatic. It's way dramatic. Wow. Caroline Hobby is here. She has a new show called Get Real with Caroline Hobby. Honest women, honest talk. Go! On the Bobby Bone Show now, Caroline Hobby. Caroline Hobby's here. New podcast called Get Real with Caroline Hobby. I launched today. Yay.
Starting point is 01:42:23 Big deal. Yeah, yeah. I'm looking at some of these people you've talked to. Luke Bryan's wife, obviously Caroline, which we played earlier. Janet Kramer's up today. But you have upcoming episodes with Tatiana Hauser, who is... Randy Hauser's wife. You have Cassie Williams. who is? She is newly engaged to Chuck Wicks
Starting point is 01:42:39 and she's Jason Audie and sister. And then you have Nicole Hawking. Luke Colmes' his fiance. Luke Colmes, who was beautiful, crazy he was written about. I know. Six Week number one. It's so interesting this concept
Starting point is 01:42:49 because I remember the first time that Eddie came in and was like, have you heard Caroline's podcast with, right, Eddie, we did. Organically. Faves Eddie. Yeah, loved it. I appreciate the support.
Starting point is 01:42:58 Eddie goes, have you heard Caroline talk to Luke Bryan's Caroline? And I was like, I have not. He goes, dude, it's so good. And I was like, really? He goes, I'm not even just saying it because we kind of know. And that, you know, kind of spawned this relationship here. Not we already knew each other, but to like work together on this podcast stuff.
Starting point is 01:43:18 But, I mean, Eddie was the one who brought it to me and was like, this is so good. Eddie, thanks. You're the best. It's awesome. What other episodes are up already? Do you have Kane Brown's wife up? Yep, Caitlin. She's up.
Starting point is 01:43:29 I have Haley Hubbard. He's married to Tyler Hubbard from Florida, Georgia, Lange. It's good. Brittany. I know, Haley's the sweetest. Yeah. What do you feel like is to comment through? read with all these wives of these country stars?
Starting point is 01:43:39 Like what do you have to, because you yourself, your husband's lead singer with a thousand horses. And they have a new album coming out soon. I just want to tell y'all, because I know y'all have all been so excited about new music coming out for them. Absolutely. Everybody's waiting. Can't wait.
Starting point is 01:43:51 I know. I love that. You got to love a good wife plug? Absolutely. I can't not plug it. I'm so proud of them. I agree. I agree.
Starting point is 01:43:58 But what, like, what is it that you guys have to all, like, go through as the wife of like a lead singer or country star? I think you have to, if you're going to enjoy this life, I think you have to have a big appreciation for the music of who you're married to. And I think that you have to, I personally think that you have to be okay with just a very gypsy lifestyle. Like, that's pretty much why we eloped when we got married because there was never time to plan a wedding. And I think all these women are so supportive of their husbands and they definitely go with their flow. but they also have so much to offer on their own and they're using the platforms that they have
Starting point is 01:44:37 for their own individual causes that mean something to them. And I just think that that's really awesome. So I think that what they have in common is they're so supportive of their spouses but also they have their own thing that they are using their platform to spread good in their own way. That makes me think of you have a good one with Abby Smyers.
Starting point is 01:44:58 Yes, like Abby. Dan from Dan and Shea's wife. Oh my God, they just cleaned house at the A-Sams. Oh, yeah. And he just came up around to clean my house as a house. So it was awesome. I was so close.
Starting point is 01:45:07 Dan just came over. No, but that makes me think of how like she's so involved with, they're both involved with dogs and saving dogs. And like she uses that for like, yeah. Yes. It uses it to like get dogs adopted. I think Dan's completely vegan. Like he doesn't do anything animal products, even close.
Starting point is 01:45:28 How do most of you guys meet these, these, husband, these lead singer, superstar husbands? Michael and I met at a bar at Tin Roof and drinking when he was 21 and I was 24. So we started way back in the day. But like, see, where did the other ones meet? I don't know. Like, how do you, I guess my question is for a lot of the ladies who are listening out there, how do they meet a country star and date them?
Starting point is 01:45:53 Well, I know Nicole. I actually, I just interviewed her, and she and Luke, they met before Luke had anything going on. he was just a singer-songwriter. They were in Key West, and they were kind of like running in the same circle of friends because she worked at BMI, I think.
Starting point is 01:46:08 And she had a boyfriend at the time. He had a girlfriend, and they broke up and they were friends. And then she saw him like at Key West just walking down the road by himself, and she was like, come hang out with us. And then they started becoming like besties and then realized there was a connection
Starting point is 01:46:22 and fell in love. Then he wrote beautiful. And then he wrote a huge song about it. Crazy! Ah, look at this. Yeah, yeah. Carolina and Luke met in college. I mean, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:46:32 You got to invest early, it sounds like. I think you got to invest early. I feel like a lot of them, they were together before it all kicked off. You think most of these wives now have pre-nups? If they met early, probably not, right? Yeah, I don't think so. Would you advise someone, let's just go, let's talk about me, for example. If I started to date somebody now, I don't have a girlfriend.
Starting point is 01:46:54 I don't meet someone in college. Would you say, hey, you should probably get a pre-nup? Or are you against pre-nups? I mean, I don't know. I think it would be totally... Me specifically? Maybe if you were to date someone that you had known for a while that, like, you had trusted or something. But if you met someone brand new, maybe, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:47:13 I guess it would just depend. I would ask Amy. Amy's a good judge. Have her... Well, I just don't think prenupts are very romantic. Like, there's nothing that says... But all marriage isn't romantic. Would you agree that all marriage isn't romantic?
Starting point is 01:47:22 I get it. And I'm not the most romantic person either, but it's kind of like, here I am willing to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you live with me? But also, I kind of don't trust you to sign this. Okay. I do think that, I think personally, I wouldn't want to do a pre-up just because you can always make more money. I mean, I know that sounds terrible.
Starting point is 01:47:42 I can't. Yes, you can. You have like an empire going. You can always add something else to you. Which is why now I think maybe someone should sign one if they meet him now. Oh, now you're switched to eyes. I know. No, I'm saying for me, like, I'm not into pre-ups.
Starting point is 01:47:54 But for you at this point in our life, like, and I can admit. that I've matured a little bit. If you were talking to 24 year old Amy when we first started, I would be like absolutely never pre-nups should not exist. Yes. Don't be stupid. But like now I see the ways of the world.
Starting point is 01:48:11 Unless you met someone who's like kind of on the same like career level as you, who has their own money going on. She might want you to sign a pre-nup. I would sign one absolutely. I would sign one in a heartbeat. I think it depends. Like I know people who have separate bank accounts who are married and they like separately live their life. So it just depends on what fits. Just a question. Caroline
Starting point is 01:48:28 Just a question. That's all. The new podcast, Get Real with Caroline Hobby. Honest Women, Honest Talk. Your goal of this podcast is what? My goal of this podcast is just to really talk about real issues with women who are career women, who are married to men who are kicking butt, who have families, who are navigating. Just navigating this season of life, I feel like, that is, I mean, like, Amy, you're in it
Starting point is 01:48:58 with kids, career, husbands. Like, I feel like this is just a big middle of life. And there's so many amazing things that are happening, but there's so many real things that are happening. And I'm always looking for support myself. And so it's just like sort of like a big support system. Like, okay, here's what's really happening and we're going to talk about it. It's like great, but it's also, there's some really hard stuff too.
Starting point is 01:49:16 You've done it all, Carolyn, hobby. Country singer, reality star. World traveler. An amazing race. A podcaster. And you walk in the most famous walking group in national. Phil. I know. Which is Amy's walking group. And
Starting point is 01:49:32 I saw you on Amy's Insta story. And I saw you with a dog. And I was like, is that Carolina with a dog? Because we're not, well, now, actually we just announced that we're pregnant with a little girl. So I'm joining. I officially have kids now. So now I really get to be, hopefully, an official member. We have some, it's like a stroller club
Starting point is 01:49:49 slash. Stevenson leads the way. Yeah, Stevenson leads the way. It's more Stevenson's walking through. We follow him. And then he's on his scooter thing. And then we It's Amy. It's Gracie Mokler, who's Steve Mokler's wife. She's got a stroller. And it's you. Natalie Pasley. Natalie, Eric Pasley's life. And Jackie's coming in.
Starting point is 01:50:07 Yeah. Man, it's like the most famous walking crew in all the country music. That's right. It is. It's pretty hard call it that. That's what I'm calling it. All right, Caroline Hobby. Check out of your podcast. We take up the whole road. Yeah, that's right. Get Real with Caroline Hobby. I'm a big fan of your work. Obviously, you know that. And I can't wait for people to start hearing your podcast and hearing all of these awesome stories.
Starting point is 01:50:28 And again, it was brought to me organically because I was told it was so good. Yay. Much the way I get music a lot of times that I trust. We'll be like, this is so good, I'll hear it. Okay, well, just so you know, 1,000 horses is so good
Starting point is 01:50:39 and it's coming out so soon. Hey, Ann, she's got a baby. Yeah, yeah. So we need to really play some 1,000 horses. Baby got to eat. Baby got to eat. Caroline's great to see you. Great to you.
Starting point is 01:50:55 Congratulations on the podcast launching today. Thank you. Check it out. Get Real with Caroline Hobby. Your daughter turns 12 in the next couple weeks, huh? Yeah, April 25th, kind of crazy. What, 12 years? I mean, that's like you're starting to get, like, adulty. Well, yeah, she almost a teenager.
Starting point is 01:51:15 I mean, yeah, she's already, yeah, things are happening with her as a girl. Does she ask a lot of questions? Yeah, she asks questions. There's, you know, girl stuff happening. She wants to know how babies are made. Oh, yeah. I feel like we probably would have addressed this with her way sooner if she had grown up in our home, but she's only lived with us for a year and four months.
Starting point is 01:51:38 So it's like we never got to slowly introduce like the birds and the bees and like explain it. And I want to be very matter of fact about it. Like I wanted to be like, yeah, there's a guy, there's a girl, there's eggs, there's sperm. And then so I started to have that conversation that I thought. What does she ask? How does she ask it? Well, someone at the orphanage told her that everybody had. a baby inside of them already. It just hasn't grown yet. So she was like asking about the baby
Starting point is 01:52:05 inside of me and when it was going to grow. And I was like, oh, well, you know, I, we've talked about this. Like, I haven't been able to have kids, but I have you and Stevenson. Y'all are a gift to me and dad. And like, we, y'all are our kids now. And then she has this whole weird thing that she also learned at the orphanage too, that I must have done something really bad to deserve not to have a baby, which is so not true. So we've had to switch that thinking of like, just because people can't get pregnant doesn't mean it's because they did something wrong. God's not punishing anybody for that.
Starting point is 01:52:36 She thinks that, huh? That's the thing. She was told that. Yeah. So by somebody. And so then she was asking about the babies in our belly and that all people, women have babies in their bellies. They just don't grow.
Starting point is 01:52:48 And I said, well, maybe someone was trying to explain to you that all women have eggs. We all are born with eggs, but they have to be fertilized. with sperm. I said, which comes from a man. And I thought, wow, I'm him handling this well. Like, I'm going to really dive into this conversation and just tell her how it's done. And then right about then I was like, peace out. I'm done.
Starting point is 01:53:08 Why? What was it? Because I didn't want to get into like. Mostly I just want to know. Because then she's like, because then she asks, well, but how? So then that's when that's when you have to explain the other parts, the other body parts. And I wanted to like just say them. Like, and I think in our house we should be comfortable.
Starting point is 01:53:25 I don't know how comfortable with people on the radio are, so I'm just not going to say the words. But I just want to say the body parts. The P and the V. The P and the V. Yeah. Like, I just want to say them because I don't want them to ever grow up shy to talk about their body. So I just thought I'd bust out, well, the P and the V and then blah. And then I couldn't.
Starting point is 01:53:45 Like I was like, I'm done. Let's talk about this later. I got a book. We'll figure it out. Like, so I halted the conversation. So I need help. What are you going to do? well I'm gonna have to address it I mean I guess
Starting point is 01:53:59 but I mean are you gonna do it soon and just go back in and just go this is what I should this is or are you gonna like look for a tamer way to describe it I think I need to do it soon and I wonder to hear it from me and and my husband like and be oh does he take part in the conversation with her? Oh my gosh he would die he can barely talk to her about periods or anything like and whenever that came up I wanted him to have a conversation with her
Starting point is 01:54:22 and our friend like his best friend your friend our friend that's a doctor Kevin, Dr. Lewis, he's like, Ben, you need to have open and honest conversations with your daughter. Like, she needs to feel comfortable to talk with all of you about your body. Like, you need to be there for her when it comes to any of that. And he's just struggling. I'm like, he can barely be there for me when it comes to that. Not his wife. So I think, yeah, we just have to figure out like a good, we got to have a good talk. Because I think that's important. Just hell, have a question for you. So what Does the P and the V do?
Starting point is 01:54:55 Oh, geez. Wait, what? I don't even know what you guys are talking about. But look, like, we all are born. We're all here today because of the P and the V. And the V is there for the P and the P goes in the V. And then the eggs are fertilized by the sperm. I'm so bad.
Starting point is 01:55:15 It is a thing. It's a thing. It's awkward because then it's like, she's like, well, yeah. So she talks about the order of like, well, well, so. then you got to get a boyfriend and then you get married and then you have babies and then you know it's like a whole thing but then she says she doesn't ever want to have kids and I'm like well she's 11 I know she's 11 I'm like that's fine but even some kids are like oh yeah I want kids but she's like it's fine with me if she's not into boys right now that's totally cool when are you doing this
Starting point is 01:55:42 tonight I don't know should I do it tonight I don't know it just like one of the you got to rip the bandaid off yeah I do but I didn't I didn't know if y'all would give me tips yes here's my tip not just for this, because I don't have any kids. But I never had a sex talk with anyone. I still haven't, like an adult. That's why you needed me to tell you. Yeah. Like, as I joke, but my, sex was so taboo.
Starting point is 01:56:05 It wasn't even, it didn't exist. Right, and I don't want it to be taboo because I want her to come to me. It always seemed so dirty. Even within Mary couples, I was like, I mean, forever. It was in my ingrained into me, you know, talk about it. You don't say it. The word is a bad word. and because of that,
Starting point is 01:56:24 I had to find out in a lot of other ways that really you wouldn't want a kid to find out about because I'd be like, oh, let me see some more of that. Like I wouldn't know. And I mean that, so I would just say, as someone more in her situation than being a parent, you just got to talk about it and talk about it like it's not a big deal.
Starting point is 01:56:45 Because if you talk about it, and this is anything, this or any struggle that someone's trying to, trying to empathize, relate, sympathize even. You have to talk about it like, hey, let's just talk about it. I'm not really going to make a big deal about it, but let's talk about how we feel about it together. Go at it, talk about it, this does this, this, this does this. You have any questions?
Starting point is 01:57:07 Like, it's not a thing. You don't make it a thing to her? She won't make it a thing back as much. Right. That would be my, because to me it was never a thing. And then when I finally got brought up, I was like, 26. And I was like, wait, what? That's also why I was a virgin until I was my 20s.
Starting point is 01:57:20 Well, but that's okay. I know, but I just never knew what was up. Yeah. And I also thought babies came out of bellies until I told you that. See, that part is more weird to me. Because you don't know stuff. You learn stuff. Anyway, you just need to sit down and go, this is how to do it.
Starting point is 01:57:34 Yeah. Maybe she's listening right now. Well, the P. Uncle Bobby want to step in and help out. No, not to her. It's a hard stuff. Anyway, that's not a right answer to it. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:57:46 But I would just say if you don't act like it's a big deal, she won't think it's a big, like a bad deal. or a weird deal. And she's smart. That's why I want to talk to her like she's smart and respect her brain. Tell her if she does that before
Starting point is 01:57:57 she's 18, she grows a tail. Oh no, like 30. Oh, okay. 30. She'll figure it out though at 8 by 18. I don't know. It's a Bobby Bones show.
Starting point is 01:58:08 I love when Keith Urban posted him playing the banjo and at first you just think it's Keith playing the banjo and then all of a sudden he goes in I want to take this down to the old town road and you're like oh that's so cool.
Starting point is 01:58:19 here's this clip I'm gonna take my love that here play some more there's there's got there's mad the bag got the booze's back to match
Starting point is 01:58:48 riding on a horse you can with your porch I've been in the valley you have been up off that poach now can't nobody tell me nothing can't tell me there you go that was Keith Irman
Starting point is 01:59:00 I posted that on my Twitter and answered the story and thought I thought it was so cool of Keith Urban to do and it just sounds good too. Here, turn it up again. Here we go. Pretty cool, man. It's so cool.
Starting point is 01:59:26 Amy, what's going on today? Not a lot. Today's hip-off dance day. So I guess find out if Stevenson's going to see that girl he has a crush on. See what happens. That's always what I look forward to most on Mondays. And see how he'll react. Yeah, see how he reacts.
Starting point is 01:59:44 You know, last time we had the run-in with the mom. And you think a bit that she didn't want her daughter hanging out with Stephen. because he's black and her daughter's white? I don't know. I didn't know what that was concerned. Oh, I guess that was me who thought that. That was you. You kind of brought that to like.
Starting point is 01:59:56 But I mean, that's a legit thing. Or it could be that he's a boy and she's a girl. It would just be like. Her reaction. Maybe she just doesn't do play dates. I don't know. I don't know. So I got that to look forward to.
Starting point is 02:00:11 And then I'll work on my four things podcast, my Q&A that needs to go up for tomorrow. Lunchbox. What's up? Oh, man. Let me see my Monday. Nap. Nap.
Starting point is 02:00:24 Taxes. Finish the taxes. Make sure it's all correct. And, man, just enjoy that paycheck coming in. Yeah. What about you? Tomorrow. Tomorrow, we find out lunchbox's tax return, by the way.
Starting point is 02:00:35 Yeah. Yeah, the big day. Big day. Have American Idol tonight live. And so, yeah, they're asking me to do something pretty crazy tonight. So, that being said, well, yeah, we'll see what happens tonight. Watch American Idol. It'll be on at 8-7 Central on ABC. And then I'm taking a flight as soon as American Idol's over.
Starting point is 02:00:58 The old red eye, I landed town at like 3.30. Can fly all through the night and then we get up and do the show again. Wow. That's right. Six-five, wait, five, six central. Wait, wait, what time's show start? Six, six Eastern? Five Central?
Starting point is 02:01:13 How do you say it? Six-five Central? No, five-six Central. Wait, what? No, that's not right. It's not five-s Central. Six East Central. Six-East Central.
Starting point is 02:01:21 Six East, no, you don't say six Eastern. You go six, five, yeah, six five Central. You're on your morning radio show. That's what it is. It just sounds weird. It does. Yeah. All right, that's it.
