Starting point is 00:02:24 All right, hit that song there. Let's do it. We've been told we can't keep doing it the way we're doing it with all the clips because we'll go to, like, music jail. Oh, we don't want that. Yeah, we don't want to go to music jail.
Starting point is 00:02:34 All right, up first. Producer Eddie. Yeah. Guys, look, people are going to hate me for this, But black coffee is not that bad. And I'll tell you why. It happened this morning. I went and I made my coffee.
Starting point is 00:02:46 I went to the refrigerator. No milk. I'm like, oh, my gosh. I have to have milk with my coffee. I don't have milk. Dude, it's not bad. I'm drinking it today. I'll take it.
Starting point is 00:02:55 You know what they call that? Cowboy coffee. Yeah. You know what? I feel like a cowboy right now. Because that's how Cowboys get. They just got a black. They just do it.
Starting point is 00:03:02 All right, up next, lunch box. Don't knock it before you try it. For years, I've said, oh, big brother, so stupid. It looks so dumb. watched a couple seasons. It was okay. A couple seasons? Well, I watched it.
Starting point is 00:03:13 Two seasons. I was like, this isn't very good. This season is excellent. Why'd you watch another season of the first one? Like season? Why'd you come in you? I don't know because my wife wanted to keep going. And I said, okay, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:03:25 Out of love and dedication to you, I will watch it again. I am so glad. Don't knock it before you try it because Big Brother is a great show. You tried it, then knocked it and tried it again. Well, I know. You get what I'm saying, right? All right. Amy.
Starting point is 00:03:39 The Christmas movie I'm going to be in has unofficial release date. Unofficial or un-officed? That's how I say, and. It has an official release date. Yes. That's confusing. Go ahead. Thanksgiving Day.
Starting point is 00:03:55 So November 24th on HBO Max and it's called Holiday Harmony. And it's kind of exciting. Have you seen the final product? No, the whole thing? Yeah. No, no, no. Have you seen your final product? final part. I have seen a few clips because I had to do some voiceover work and they needed me
Starting point is 00:04:13 to match my tone. Do you know how many lines of yours they left in? Oh, I think, I think it's all good. I think my part, especially in the bathroom, still there. Yeah, that was the scene I had to do a little voiceover work for because they had the camera on the back of my head and they wanted to, I don't know. Like in the bathroom, we guys at a club? No, we're at the eye heart. No, she was coming out of us all. She ran to the bathroom. She's an artist and she's performing at our I-heart radio. Christmas Spectacular, and she runs into the bathroom and I go after her. I'm excited to see this. That's exciting.
Starting point is 00:04:46 And then I have a few scenes with Sissony. A few scenes. Wow. Yeah, I have some scenes with Sissony from Ryan Sechrest Show. So anyway, official release date, November 24th. So if you don't have HBO Max, you can get it by then. For this only. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:00 Well, there's tons of other good stuff on HBO Max too. All right, I finally I'll go, my TV remote doesn't work, so the volume stays at, I'm not going say 100%, but it's very loud. Oh, man. And it won't go, I don't know what's wrong. It won't go down. We can't do anything to make it go down. And so we've had to watch games blaring loud. Like so loud that it's uncomfortable. So we've scooted, chairs back farther than the living room so it doesn't blow us out. Wow. That's how we spent the weekend. That's a real problem. It's awful. Like, you can't control the volume? There's a TV in another room we went to watch. Blaring.
Starting point is 00:05:33 Couldn't get the remote to work. All the remotes are like linked together. I don't know, man, technology. Wow. When it all happens and it all goes out and we don't have any technology, we're just going to be lost. Yeah. Because I just can fix a remote in my weekend. Yeah. So, all right, we're here.
Starting point is 00:05:44 Hope you guys are ready to go. We got a really good show for you. Time to open up the mailbag. You send an email and we read it all the air. It's something we call Bobby's mailbag. Yeah. Hello, Bobby Bones. I really start to resent my husband every time football season rolls around.
Starting point is 00:06:04 It takes over and eliminates any chance. at a social life on the weekend. Saturday, college football all day. Sunday, he has to get home to watch 12 o'clock game, then 3 o'clock game, then 7 o'clock game. Then you factor in Thursday and Monday. This sounds like something Amy's talked about before. Then you factor in Thursday and Monday games.
Starting point is 00:06:20 Serious commitment. I don't want to put our life on pause because it's football season. I like to go out and continue to do things that we both enjoy that do not revolve around the football schedule. The season has started. What advice do you have for how I can get my husband to spend time doing things we both want to do during this football season? signed.
Starting point is 00:06:36 Wife in Wisconsin. I feel this husband on a level. For sure. Because it's all I want to do. Saturdays, all I want to do is watch. For sure, the Arkansas game, then other SEC games, and other just big games.
Starting point is 00:06:49 I don't need to find the Toledo Air Force game. I'm good on that. I don't. I'm not that, but I will need to watch all day because I've got something all day. In the NFL, it's all about fantasy. And if you have Drag Kings and you're betting, but it's mostly about fantasy.
Starting point is 00:07:05 And so you want to watch all. your players and all the games. It starts at noon. It's all day. Yeah. We got to watch ESPN before it starts, though. Pre-show. Get you ready.
Starting point is 00:07:14 That's true. Yeah. So what do you do, wife in Wisconsin? I think you just chill. Let him do a thing. Yeah, don't know. Yeah, let him do a sting. Actually, I encourage him to do more.
Starting point is 00:07:24 Just be like, I love this version of you. Cook them, cooking dinner and cookies and stuff, why he's watching. So my wife does. Give him massages? No, she didn't do that. Just surrender to the football season. Surrender. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:34 Does it make him happy? Of course it does. That's what we should do. Make them happy. That's right. Man, this is a great email. Wife in Wisconsin, me, Eddie, launch a box. Yeah, we all think you're doing a good job at emailing us and we would just say just chill out.
Starting point is 00:07:47 Yeah. Find you some stuff to do. And wait for what? Like February? Yeah, after the Super Bowl. That's about right. You're crazy. No.
Starting point is 00:07:55 What are you? Okay. I mean, you go ahead. What do you say? I just think that there's room for some compromise. Bobby, you talk about it all the time. Not in this situation, though. No compromise.
Starting point is 00:08:03 No, you literally use it all the time. like, hey, if you want this, then like I'm going to need a little bit more attention over here for something I would like for us to do together. Like a trade. And I do think, for whatever reason, I mean, and women are into football too, but in this case, I assume it's just not her thing. She doesn't want to do that all the time. So she's got to find some things that she can do with him, not during that time, but he has to commit. He has to go and he has to do it. Okay, so this is the real answer.
Starting point is 00:08:32 I'm sure he has a team, a college football team that he loves. okay, when's your game? Okay, you can have that, absolutely. But you got to give me the same exact amount of time on that day where you're not watching a game. Well, how long are games? Three hours. Three hours.
Starting point is 00:08:45 I don't need three hours. But still, make them commit because you can pick anything to do in the middle of that. Even if it's hanging out, watching shows, it doesn't matter. Yeah. I'm going to give you three hours. Let's just say he's an Arkansas fan like me. I'm going to give you three hours to watch the Arkansas game. Okay, you got it.
Starting point is 00:08:57 I will not bother you, do your deal. But you got to give me three hours. Now, Sunday's a different monster because it's games all day long. There's a break. There's a break. And I tell my, for like 40 minutes. I tell my wife, I'm free at 6 from 6.30 to about 8. And that's night.
Starting point is 00:09:11 What about, parenting and stuff? Oh, my wife's got that. This is, on Sunday, this is how you do that. If you go to church, we're going to church. Yes. Right, we're going to church. So stop. We're going to church.
Starting point is 00:09:26 And then you can watch the noon to 3 game. Now, you get your choice. You can do that 3 to 6-ish game. Or you can watch the 1-9. game. Oh, no, no, no, no. Yeah. It's tough.
Starting point is 00:09:36 I know it's tough. Yeah, yeah, you're putting a lot of. Yeah, yeah, you're putting a lot of restrictions. And once a week, they have to pick a day not to watch any football. Yeah, Tuesday. Yeah, Tuesday. No, no, no. On the days that it's available.
Starting point is 00:09:48 But here's why it's good to him, because there won't be any nagging if they agree to this. Even if you're watching football all day, if there's nagging, it takes away the fun of it. Yeah, and if you nag, there's a punishment. Yeah, so you give them noon to three, and he can pick either the three to six set of games or the night game. Otherwise, he's what's what's doing your deal. But you promise you won't nag him. And then you can get him to commit to something else later at the same time.
Starting point is 00:10:08 I like that. Better than week. Okay? It stinks. For all season's complicated. It is what it is. We love it. Yeah, we love it.
Starting point is 00:10:15 It's our thing. It's too much. Yeah, it's not enough, actually. I'll say it. That's all we say, White from Wisconsin. Thank you for email on the show. Good luck. And I think your husband's a real cool guy.
Starting point is 00:10:25 I think he deserves to have some time to watch football. For sure. All right, close it up. We've got your email and we've read it on your air. Now it's about to close. Bobby's mail. Yeah. The question Eddie has asked to me is, is he being a bad influence on his kids?
Starting point is 00:10:40 Right? I think as a parent, you always want to set the right foot forward, right? Exactly. What happened? Well, I was taking me to go practice some baseball because baseball season's coming up, and I got the bucket of balls and the gloves and everything. And I said, all right, let's go to the baseball part. Well, all the fields were locked.
Starting point is 00:10:55 So I didn't think twice. I mean, I did what I would normally do. I just threw all the stuff over the fence and I started jumping over the fence. And all the kids were like, whoa, whoa, dad, what are you doing? Like, the chains are locked. We can't be on the field. I said, guys, that's not how it works. These fields are here for us.
Starting point is 00:11:07 That's not how it works. We're practicing. They want us to practice. Guys, kids, the stores, I don't care if it's locked and the arms on. Go get whatever you want. That's different. That's different. This is the baseball field.
Starting point is 00:11:16 So they were very hesitant. And I was proud of them in a weird way for being like, yeah, this is wrong. I shouldn't do this. But at the same time, guys, we don't have a lot of time. Jump the fence. Let's go. So you did play on the field? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:27 Why do you think they shut it down? It just was closed. I mean, there's no game. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but why do you think it was closed and not just left open all the time? Because there are no games going on right now. It's offseason. Then why not just leave it open if anybody's free to play on it? It's a good question. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:39 But I feel like, you know, the fuels were taken care of. Everything was nice. The bases were out. Yeah. They wanted it to be used. They locked it? Yeah. They wanted it to be used.
Starting point is 00:11:48 They locked it? Yeah, I guess not. Is he a bad influence on his kids around the room, Amy? I mean, you could run into an issue of like, there's locks on it for reason for protection and safety. Like, they just sprayed it for some bugs or whatnot. You're not supposed to be on the, poisoned lawn for 24 hours. Ooh, I didn't think about that.
Starting point is 00:12:04 Good point there. I don't know. It's just like... But aside from that. Aside, I guess if they're with Eddie, I guess it's okay, but then it's teaching them that it doesn't matter if things are locked or that they can trespass. And then they could get in trouble down the line. So, bad influence.
Starting point is 00:12:18 Lunchbox? No, a baseball field is meant to be played on. They just forgot to unlock the gate. That's what it is. They forgot to unlock it? Yeah, they forgot to unlock it. They never let's play locked it. That is the whole point of a baseball field.
Starting point is 00:12:29 It's out. You're outside playing a sports. They want those. They put the bases out for you. If they didn't want you to use it, the bases wouldn't be out there. The pitchers' mouth would be covered. I'm just telling you, you are not a bad influence.
Starting point is 00:12:42 You're a good dad showing them, hey, let's go play ball. Did you jump and they go, kids, don't do this unless I'm with you. Did you say that? No, no, no. I just basically, they didn't want to jump. They didn't want to jump over. I was basically telling them, hey, guys, hurry up. We only have about an hour.
Starting point is 00:12:54 This is not the only time Eddie's shown his kids. You can break it. He broke into the Dallas Cowboys Stadium and let them run around. That's true. Let's get to that. Hold on one second. That's true. Eddie, bad influence, two to one. You're bad influence. You lose. I don't think this is the worst influence. Oh, no. You could be way worse. But you didn't even have the conversation like, this is the only time. You just jump and you're like it's meant to be used. You're like, chop, kids. We got to play. Bones. How many times did you go to an empty field and play ball? If it was open, a lot. If it was locked, never. You never jumped the fence to play? No, I always felt like I get in trouble. Oh, there you go. I was scared of trouble, man. You also broke into the Dallas Cowboys Football Stadium.
Starting point is 00:13:26 Yeah, it was awesome. Like, if they leave a door open, If your kids go to jail for breaking and entering or... They're like, our dad always said it's okay. Judge, he's right there. He told me it's cool. Do you want to know the funny part of that story? When we went in, we spent like 30 minutes, the door was open. We ran on the field.
Starting point is 00:13:42 Had a great time. We go back to the car. My wife's like, what took you guys so long? And I told it. It was crazy. We ran the whole field. She was like, oh, good. I got to go to the bathroom.
Starting point is 00:13:48 Let me go. They didn't let her in. She goes to the door and knocks in there. Like, no, man, we're closed. You cannot come in here. I think as long as you tell your kids, this is not cool. you can only do this if dad's with you. It's still bad, but not as bad.
Starting point is 00:13:59 So I have to be there. They can do whatever they want. No, that's what I said. You can't really allow them to break the law. We're going bad influence, but there could be worse things. Yes, thank you. That you do that we don't talk about on the show. No, no, that's not that's not sure.
Starting point is 00:14:12 All right. It's time for the good news. Tell me something good. Jeremiah Armstead, 19 years old, had a pretty rough last few years. He's been homeless on and off. He spent the last three years in California, sleeping in cars and shelters with his mom, his brother, and his sister. But he has used that to push himself to be better. And so Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee has said, hey, come to school here and be a part of the basketball team, which is pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:14:43 He was staying with a friend the morning he learned. He got into college, which is the most amazing part of it. And not only will he be accepted and going to Fisk University, he will also be playing on their basketball team, which is something he loves to do in practice. all the time. It's awesome. So, yeah, hopefully he can, you know, break that cycle, which is a really, really hard thing to do. And hopefully he can inspire his brother and sister and maybe take care of his mom. Yeah, and it sometimes just takes some people believing in you. And it sounds like that's what Fist did. That's it. All right, Jeremiah, good luck, buddy. That's awesome. That is what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. Amy's son is playing football for the first time,
Starting point is 00:15:22 which is awesome. He's really small. Yeah, he's one of the smallest on the team. Yeah. It's not the. Yeah. But I admire that he's out there. But he's got hustle. He does.
Starting point is 00:15:33 And so how's it going? I mean, it's going. He loves it so much. And it's not like he's getting tons and tons of playing time, but he doesn't have any expectations for it. So it's awesome. I love his team. I love his coaches. What's his team's name?
Starting point is 00:15:47 It's Navy. Like they're the Navy? They have colors. Oh, they're a color. They don't have a mascot? Well, he's part of a league and the league. league has a name and then inside the league you're on a color each team has a color oh because they could even get like an animal that is really weird I haven't seen an animal
Starting point is 00:16:02 oh they could be like the the navy what's the animal starts the end then Navy nipper nippers what's a nipper I don't know that beats called the color than a nipper have there any animals that start with in no that or anything that starts with is that have we found the animal that interesting the the Neanderthal I mean, that's not an animal, but I can't believe they don't have a mascot. So have they won last weekend? I mean, I think that they're on a winning streak. I don't have the full total.
Starting point is 00:16:37 He hasn't scored anything. He's played safety, but also another position that I can't remember. I love it. He's always waiting on the sideline. The coach, even the last game we were at, the coach had to yell at him to step back, step back, because coaches get into it. They're really into it. They're yelling.
Starting point is 00:16:53 and I just thought, oh, he just got yelled at to step back, but I love that he was eager to be on the line watching the game. Has he been hit hard? Yeah, and he's very scared of that. Yeah, me too. I was always scared. I don't know that I should publicly say that. Why?
Starting point is 00:17:06 I say it. Now I hate it getting hit. It's not fun. Well, so if he ever hears this, I just don't want someone to be like, oh, so you're, because I guess kids at school sometimes listen and they might be like, who heard you're scared to get hit. I would like to say, I was scared. It still am scared to get hit as an adult man.
Starting point is 00:17:20 No, that's a big fear. Like he gets in the car and he's like, oh, man. I was really scared to get tackled. But he's been reminded by everybody that knows football, like just go all full force. Like, you'll get hurt if you don't go all in. And are you watching any, like, game tape of him?
Starting point is 00:17:36 Yeah, they have a website you can go to where you can watch the end of everything. They load it up. Dad films it. It's a little shaky. But he could watch it. And he's watching other, he's watching college and the other. NFL?
Starting point is 00:17:50 Yeah. He's watching all the. Oh, boy. Listen, that hadn't started first. College game started first, so he started with college, and then NFL came, and he sits down and wants to learn from the pros. I saw the picture you posted of him on your Instagram, and you just wrote dead on it. Yeah. It's a good picture.
Starting point is 00:18:07 Yeah, except for that was confusing to some older people, I guess, in our family that followed. They thought he was dead? What? I thought he died playing football. Oh, my goodness. Oh, my gosh. I got a text message that, and it was very serious. It was not a joke.
Starting point is 00:18:21 It's just from older people that did. understand quite what dead meant and so they were confused by the post and I thought could you imagine if that is how I announced our child died? She just says dead and it's like a football picture was looking tough yeah like this is how we lost our son I mean there's that that picture is pretty legit too it's an awesome picture. It's an awesome picture. All that's Photoshop by the way so will you explain to our listeners what dead means in case dead means he looks so stinking cute in this picture that I die like It's so cute and awesome that I'm dead.
Starting point is 00:18:56 It's a saying. It's an expression. It doesn't mean... You've been moved with so much emotion or feeling or reaction that it has caused you to die in a figurative sense. Yes. There you go. Okay, well, good luck to him.
Starting point is 00:19:07 I'm excited for him. Yeah. Can you catch? Yeah, he can catch. And he can throw. I mean, it doesn't have much opportunity to do it, but when we throw in the... I mean, I can throw too.
Starting point is 00:19:17 Okay, she made about her. Okay, we're going to get the song now. It's very basic with their car. What is it? Now, it's up to you. You can actually win it right now, if you know the answer. What do you think it is? Change the windshield wipers. Okay. Did anybody else have changed the windshield wipers? No. I did. You did? Wow. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:51 Do you know how to? Nope. But I don't know how to do probably anything that anybody's going to say. Oh, okay. Because I went through a list of things. Change their winch of wipers is incorrect. Okay, okay. That's one.
Starting point is 00:23:05 That's level one. Okay. That's it. Good. Okay. Now, we're going to let you pick Callie between one of the four people here on the show. You have Amy. You can change your answer.
Starting point is 00:23:14 Okay. Lunchbox, Eddie, or Morgan. And if you pick the right person and they get it, you win the lunchbox is itching to say something. Oh man, I feel good about this one. I nailed this one. You always do. You want to go to Sonic? You got to pick me. Say the question again. Okay, the question is, over half
Starting point is 00:23:30 of Americans admit, they don't know how to do this basic thing with their car. Okay. Basic thing. Basic thing. That's right. All right, Callie, who you like? Who you want to team up with? I know Eddie has never got it. Oh, I won one. Recently, one. Recently, yes. Okay. I'll tell you what. I'm going to give you two. I'm in a good mood, Callie.
Starting point is 00:23:46 Take two people here on the show. Yeah. I'm going to go with Amy. And Elby. Oh, she walked all down Eddie Road and then didn't even stop. Interesting. Wow. I don't like that. Eddie, what did you have?
Starting point is 00:23:57 Man, I think I have the answer. What do you think? What is it? Open the hood. I struggle with it. It's the easiest thing. Where is that button where you push and the hood opens? Never find it.
Starting point is 00:24:06 Not bad. It is hard to find. Yeah. So your answer is. Open the hood. Okay. So if you would have picked Eddie, that would have been your answer. How would you have felt about that answer, Callie?
Starting point is 00:24:16 I mean, it's a very, very good answer because I don't know how to do that. There you go. Let's sit on that. Hey, we'll put a pen in it. I like it. Okay. Amy. Okay. Well, I think, originally I was thinking things you do your car like that or tire or wind you wipers, but you also parallel park your car and nobody knows how to do that. Okay, I'll read the question again. Half of Americans admit they don't know how to do this basic thing with their car. Yeah, pretty basic. Parallel park. Nobody wants to do it. Yeah, I'm not very good at parallel park. I'm okay, but I'm not very good. Lunchbox. Amy, you took the words out of my mouth when he, when I heard he, when I heard him. him say it again when he said with your car.
Starting point is 00:24:52 It doesn't have to say, like, the objects in your car. How do you do this with your car? He's got no words in that amount. And so I was like parallel park, but since you took that, I'm not going to go there. Well, no, if you have it down, that's your answer. You're lucky. I don't have that written down. Oh, yeah, right. I don't. Show the other side of the paper.
Starting point is 00:25:09 I mean, he has something else written down, but I don't know what it says. It's illegible. Maybe he just scribbles and then just claims that's what it is. Air filter. What do you have? Sure, they change the air filter. What? Is that basic? That's not basic. I don't even know where the air filter is.
Starting point is 00:25:22 I don't know there was an Elphilis. I just know. Morgan, what do you have? I have a very basic thing. Check or change the oil because I don't know how to do that. Yeah, I don't know that's basic either. It could be, maybe we're just all idiots, right? We could be the half-in-no.
Starting point is 00:25:34 No, people don't do that. I mean, Morgan could be right if it seems basic, because I bet some people do it. Okay, so here's what we're going to do. Lunchbox, you have, air filter. Amy, you have. Parallel Park. Parallel Park. Eddie?
Starting point is 00:25:45 I have Open the hood. And you have. Change your oil. So, Callie. I will let you change teams if you want to go to Eddie and Morgan. You can stay with Amy and Lunchbox. You'll stay with us. You're going to win. He does this as a trick.
Starting point is 00:25:56 Well, sometimes. You guys do. You never know. You never know what I'm doing. Exactly. So you can stay with Amy and Lunchbox who you've selected, or you can go over to Eddie or Morgan. Eddie does have a really good answer.
Starting point is 00:26:08 No, he doesn't. Callie, let me tell you something. I'm a little worried, though, because I said open the hood. What if it's the trunk? That would be wrong. Well, yes, obviously, Eddie, because we're too obvious. I know, but I kind of messed up there.
Starting point is 00:26:18 I should have said open something. Okay, so Callie, you're going to stay with your original, or are you going to switch it over? I'm just going to stay. Okay. Lunchbox, air filter, not right at all. Parallel parking is right. Amy, parallel parking. Not right, wrong.
Starting point is 00:26:33 What? Let's go! Wait, I didn't say you guys are right. Well, but we're still in it. I just said, okay, you're still in it. Yeah. So, Callie, I can give you two options here for the final. You can either flip a coin or you can pick Eddie or Morgan.
Starting point is 00:26:46 Now, flip a coin, you're 50-50. There's a winner on that coin. Morgan might both be wrong. I'm going to pick Eddie. Oh, you are going to go with Eddie. More than the 50-50. Oh, check the coin. See if she had won on the coin real quick.
Starting point is 00:26:58 Callie, what would you have called? Hells never failed. Tails? And it was Tails. Oh, no. Come on. Do you taste that burger? Oh, it's just taken out of your mouth.
Starting point is 00:27:08 Morgan, what was your answer again? Change the oil. That's wrong. Eddie, you said Pop the Hood. That could be the real winner here. Come on a hundred bucks. You feel good about it, Eddie? I still feel good about it.
Starting point is 00:27:17 Yeah, yeah. The answer is, Pop the hood. No, it is not. Let's go. What? Pop the hood. What? Pop the hood.
Starting point is 00:27:27 Guys, I'm getting good at this game. People don't know how to pop the hood. I mean, I get some people might, but 50% of people. Callie wins. Yes, that's the headline. That's the headline. Eddie got it right. Everybody hated on Eddie, but he got it.
Starting point is 00:27:40 Callie, congratulations. Thank you. I'm so excited. Sounds like it. I'm so excited. I'm trying not to cry in the middle of Target. Okay. Well, we're going to get you at this prize.
Starting point is 00:27:50 Thank you for listening. Hold on one second. This is Jaina from Nevada. I just got my tickets to see you in Vegas. See you on December 3rd. Can't wait. Then I was going to end that quick. I was thinking a little drink of water over here.
Starting point is 00:28:04 Yeah, over the weekend tickets when I sold on my Vegas show at the win, bobbybones.com. A little later today, I'm doing only one more show this whole year. I'm doing one more in Nashville. I'm not announcing it yet, but I'll be announcing them doing another show in Nashville on October 22nd coming up in just a little bit. But it's not announced. I mean, I just did the whole, but it's not officially announced yet.
Starting point is 00:28:22 Okay. But one more show. The Babo show. Here's Amy's pile of stories. Readers Digest posted a list of things that you cannot take from hotel rooms. The big headline here is Reader's Digest still exists. I'm being honest with you. Okay, things you can't take from hotel rooms.
Starting point is 00:28:39 Go ahead. Yeah, these are things you can't take, but believe it or not, some people still do. Go ahead. The sheets off the bed. Yeah. Why would someone think? Wow. You don't get to walk into the room and you own it.
Starting point is 00:28:48 all. You're paying $59 bucks a night. You're not paying to own everything in that room. But sometimes the hotel collection sheets are nice. That's why you can't take them. Yeah, they're not yours. They'll charge you for them, and along with sheets, you can't take pillows and towels either. Electronics like alarm clocks, universal remotes, and complementary phone chargers. The only thing that I think people would take would be pillows. Oh, towels. Oh, towel. You've never taken towels? No, I haven't taken anything from this list. I've left towels down at like the pool? Yeah, but that's all part of the pool.
Starting point is 00:29:23 Yeah, but how they're going to know? My point is how they're going to know. That's exactly how you do it. Or you ask the maid, hey, can I get some extra towels? She doesn't know what room you're in. Boom, you got three free towels. Next headline. Lunchbox still uses the word made. Oh, yeah. Come on. Housekeeper. Move on. The stewardess. The secretary. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I get it, though. What else? The awesome wooden hangers from the closets. Those are not.
Starting point is 00:29:48 I'm totally guilty of hanging stuff up and then taking it to a place from the hotel if I'm there to do work and just leaving the hangers there. Yeah. Have you noticed how some of them started to use that anti-theft type hanger? Yeah, it's a circle you can't get it out. You can't get it off. You're like, ah, come on, get it out. You haven't seen those? Oh, yeah, dude. I bend it off and then take it with me. Yeah, and then bath robes. Some people think they get to take those, but if you happen to walk off with one, you were going to find that it ends up on your hotel bill. Okay, so cup of noodles, or cup noodles, they're bringing back pumpkin spice ramen again. It debuted last year and it was so popular that they're bringing in a second run of it this year. And it just got me thinking about your pumpkin food reviews, Bobby.
Starting point is 00:30:31 Like, will you be doing another segment this year? Well, two things I want to say. First of all, back in the day in college, cup of noodle saved my life because you could get one of those packs. There were four packs or eight packs. And that was lunch for me for many, many days. I was broke as a joke. It was cup of noodles every day. And you take the little pack, tear it off, dumps them in there.
Starting point is 00:30:51 Ramen has the same deal with the seasoning. Yeah. So, and yeah, I probably will do, because last year I did about a month of eating everything pumpkin. The thing is, for like three months after I hated anything pumpkin. I was just like, so yeah, I think we're going to get going pretty soon. All right, what else? This is a Walmart exclusive, by the way, if you want the pumpkin-flavored cup of noodles and it'll hit shelves in October. Right.
Starting point is 00:31:10 Lainie Wilson's Yellowstone character is basically Lainie Wilson. She's going to be on season five, and she says that her character's name is Abby, but she feels like she's really just playing herself. And Yellowstone Season 5 is premiering Sunday, November 13th at 8.7 Central and Paramount Network, and I can't wait. I'm so excited for Lainey, Abby. I'm going to say Abby, for Lainey because I've known Lainey for a long, long time. And to see her get all the CMA nominations and to see her get on Yellowstone, it's just she is exactly who she portrays her. self to be and I love it for. I don't want to spoil anything, but there's maybe a little little something, maybe doing a little something with Lainey soon. That's all I'm going to say now.
Starting point is 00:31:54 That's all I'm going to say. Eddie, don't act like you don't know. Oh, what is this? Yeah, yeah. Eddie's like, I have no idea. All right, is that it, Amy? Yep, I mean, Amy, that's my pile. That was Amy's pile of stories. It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. There's this guy, Brian, and he's turning 30 this year. and as he's reflected on the past 29 years of his life, he's just super grateful for everyone that's been kind to him.
Starting point is 00:32:22 So he wants to spread kindness for his 30th birthday, and he has started a handle on Instagram and TikTok 30 acts by 30, and it's 30 random acts of kindness, but he's doing big things like dessert for 400 firefighters, school supplies for a bunch of teachers, $12,000 worth of supplies to donate to Oakland schools. So he's going above and beyond, and a lot of people are hopping on board
Starting point is 00:32:46 because it's addictive and contagious and here's Brian talking about it. Kindness is interesting because it has that thing of being very addictive. Once you do one act of kindness, you want to do another. So I would say, I would encourage others to keep doing acts of kindness
Starting point is 00:33:00 because one act can lead to hundreds and it really can make this world a brighter place. I think his voice just sounds happy. Yeah, it's a pretty cool project. So 30 acts by 30, and maybe it'll encourage some of you if you have a birthday coming up. Like, you know, you have, what are you,
Starting point is 00:33:14 42. You can do 42 by 42. See, now it's complicated. We just like 30 by 30. All right, nice job. Good story. That is what it's all about. That was tell me something good. Let's go over to Amy and get the morning corny. A morning corny. What kind of tree does a math teacher climb? What kind of treat is a math teacher climb?
Starting point is 00:33:39 Geomotree. Geometry. Okay. There you go. That was the morning corning. I was reading this article about possums. Do you know when they play dead? That's just a myth. They don't actually play dead. That's not what they're doing.
Starting point is 00:33:54 They're like, okay, here's my defense mechanisms to act dead. They actually get scared and then over excited and they fall over. Like they faint? Like basically, which is kind of the worst. That's funny. Yeah. I grew up in Arkansas. I had possums all over the place.
Starting point is 00:34:12 And they play dead. But no, they just get so freaked out, they fall over. That makes me love them even more. Like, they're sad for them now. Because they do look nasty. They do look nasty. So there you go. So don't hate opossum.
Starting point is 00:34:24 Breaking news. Breaking news. Breaking news. I'm going to do one more show. One more comedically inspirational show. October 22nd in Nashville. You want to come? It's Saturday night.
Starting point is 00:34:37 Tickets go on sell Friday. And then I'm doing no more shows. I got Nashville, October 22nd and Las Vegas, December 3rd. Then no more shows. But this is it. And then I'm retiring. No, they say indefinitely, right? Isn't that the word?
Starting point is 00:34:49 Oh, is that what it? They say indefinitely. I don't know what that means. So, you want to come? Tickets on sale Friday. Bobbybones.com, Ticketmaster.com. Still get the Vegas tickets if you want. But Eddie will be showing up.
Starting point is 00:34:59 Mike D. will be showing up. George Burge will be opening. It's going to be awesome. But Nashville, you guys can come in from the east. Or Nashville. Or anywhere. Anywhere. Midwest.
Starting point is 00:35:08 Tickets go on sell Friday. October 22nd is the show. It's my comedically inspirational show. No more shows after this. This is Alberta from Central New York who left his voicemail. A lot of people are upset at Lunchbox on a couple things that he said recently. Here's the first one. On Tuesday's show, Lunchbox had made the comment about his wife being passed a prime after three or four kids.
Starting point is 00:35:32 Is Lunchbox trying to tell us that his wife is pregnant with number four? Lunchy? No, no, I said if, you know, if she is pregnant or she does get pregnant with number four, I mean, she knows that she's prostitute her prime. Like, you don't know. We don't know if we're having a fourth. We have three right now. But I'm saying if she does get pregnant with her fourth, then, yeah, she's going to be way past her prime. Oh, then way.
Starting point is 00:35:52 Yeah. And people were upset. You said your wife was past your prime. That was basically. Why? Because you said your wife is pastor prime. That's the answer. I mean, but that's what happens in life, guys.
Starting point is 00:36:01 Are you past your prime? I haven't had any kids. Oh, so it has to do with having kids. Are you crazy? We're an idiot. You are so crazy. You are an idiot. I can't even.
Starting point is 00:36:12 I just looked at him and I have to look away. I can't. I mean, it's just the truth. No, it's not the truth. Most women's bodies don't bounce back after having kids. Why should there have to be a bounce back? Why should there have to be a bounce back? But, Amy, that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:36:25 You're in your prime before that. Your body goes through wear and tear. How's your body? I mean, it's... It's some wear and tear. Has it been better? Yeah. So you passed your prime too?
Starting point is 00:36:35 I don't know. I can still get back to my prime if I needed to. You think if you... Well, anyway, thank you everyone. Well, this is just going to start the new avalanche here. Let me do another one here. This is a call. She's on live right now.
Starting point is 00:36:47 This is Ashley in Huntsville, Alabama, and Ashley is irritated at lunchbox for a whole different reason. Okay. Ashley, good morning. Good morning. Good morning, Bobby. Morning, see you. Morning. What's up?
Starting point is 00:36:58 So I'm a podcast listener, and I was listening, I think it was a couple days ago. I was actually driving back from one of my education classes down in the woodland, and I heard about the segment about lunchbox and clearing the list. And I think that it is absolutely ridiculous. Okay, let me let our listeners know what's going on. So Lunchbox, like a lot of our America's great hidden jewels, teachers. Yeah. Right?
Starting point is 00:37:23 They shouldn't be so hidden. They should be rewarded and paid more. But they're not. So they go, I got a list. Will you please help me? Will you please help me clear the list? And so Lunchbox is like, this is awesome. Let me try it.
Starting point is 00:37:33 And he did his grocery list. And listeners cleared his list. Yeah. Like what, what stuff did they get you again? Ah, beef jerky. They got me toothpaste. Someone sent me some tied laundry detergent. They cleared his list.
Starting point is 00:37:45 And so here's Ashley, studying education or in education. Ashley, I don't know what exactly you're doing, but you heard this and now you have an issue with him doing that. Yes, sir. I'm actually studying education. I'm a pre-K third major at St. Houston State University. Shout out Eddie. Got it out.
Starting point is 00:38:04 Yeah, eat him up cats. That's a big deal. Why? I'm just kidding. Why are you upset with lunchbox? Because shenanigans, I've been a listener since I was a junior in high school, and I think this is just the over-the-top. I'm not going to stop listening, but this is ridiculous because it was a slap in the face to educators. Because as an educator major, I'm going into a field where there's no money, absolutely no money.
Starting point is 00:38:29 Teachers pay out of their pocket for every single thing because their students are maybe not able to afford, glue sticks, pencils, paper, and it comes out of our salary. And this man probably makes five times more than an average public school teacher. And he's so greedy that he is just asking listeners, listeners who are faithful to the show to clear his list. When he's able, he's able-bodied just to go to the store, he's able-bodied to swipe his credit card because I know he makes money. And I think it's ridiculous. And it's just a slap in the face. Hallelujah.
Starting point is 00:39:01 Hallelujah. We agree. Hey, come on, sir. I quit listening. I'd be so mad. But don't. But don't, please don't. Her name is Ashley in Huntsville, Texas.
Starting point is 00:39:08 Ashley sounds like she's able-bodied so she can able-bodily go to the store and able-bodied swipe her card like I can. No, but you're missing the point. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, you're not. Because you don't... No, no, no, no. She's saying that you make more money, therefore... When I go to these lists, these teachers,
Starting point is 00:39:23 when they send them to me, I click on them and it's like, I need two beanbag chairs. No, you don't need beanbag chairs. How do you know what they need? You've never taught. Guess what? I've been to school, and guess what? I didn't have in my class. You went to school in like 63. And they didn't have beanbag chairs. so I don't know why you need a beanbag here. Oh, I need fluorescent lights to make the kids feel welcome.
Starting point is 00:39:41 Get out of here with that crap. You don't understand. And when your kids go to school, you're going to understand. But you're going to be the parent that when they ask for two packs of pencils, you're going to be the parent who's like, no, my kids will not be bringing supplies. And you know what? They're going to end up using the teacher's supplies because you're so greedy. Oh, we can do that.
Starting point is 00:40:01 Wait, wait. She makes me want to stop the show. Hold on the show. So if I send my kid without supplies, the teacher will give him to me. them. Sweet. Thanks for the tip. She just gave us all a tip. Ashley, I'm glad you said what you said. I think I said initially, I thought it was a terrible idea. I hated that he did it. I came on to say, please support our teachers. There's some lists that I cleared myself. I'm a big supporter that you guys need to be paid more and given
Starting point is 00:40:25 more resources. And that starts with a lot of the folks that are elected in the office and are not taking care of you guys. And I'm sorry the lunchbox puts a broccoli out there to get paid for. Ashley, no, not broccoli. It was two bushels of bananas. Ashley, if you'd give me your Twitter, I'll send you my list. Maybe you can send me something. I'd rather choke. Yeah, got him. That's probably a bad life decision there.
Starting point is 00:40:45 Ashley, you talked about what you do. Do you have kids in a classroom right now, or, again, are you studying to have kids in a classroom? I currently work at the Huntsville, YMCA. So I work with children as well as I'm going to school to work with children. Okay, well, I'm going to send you a few. This is what I can do right now. I can send you a few Stanley the Dog Books, the first day at school. That's perfect.
Starting point is 00:41:03 Is that okay? And I'll sign them to whomever. and it'll be a little contribution. And then when you get into your own class, if you ever get that, you let us know, and I'm happy to help, okay? Yes, sir. Thank you so much.
Starting point is 00:41:13 All right, keep Ashley on the phone. She's fired up. We love it. We need people like Ashley. Oh, my goodness. I hope my kids never in her class. Why? She's like an awesome teacher.

Starting point is 00:44:24 And my answer is no. Yeah. I wouldn't sleep at all. I would just keep going. You know how much stuff I could do? Oh, lots. Oh, this would be an eight-hour show. Wow.
Starting point is 00:44:31 Yeah. Oh, man, I'd have to quit. So you would never feel tired? Would you still sleep if your body didn't need it? Lunchbox. Yes. I love sleeping. It is so amazing.
Starting point is 00:44:42 But because it feels good, though. Right, because your body needs it, right? No, just because I'm sitting there. I'm like, what else am I going to do? I'll take a nap. It feels great. So you like naps for the sake of naps. Yes, just for to do it.
Starting point is 00:44:53 Yeah. Eddie? No. I think I would stay up all hours of the day. I mean, I would find something to do. Go out for walks. Oh, I'd play a lot of golf. I definitely play a lot of golf.
Starting point is 00:45:03 I'd definitely play a lot of golf. I'm 36 holes. 36 holes. It still gets dark outside. Yeah, what would you do? What would you do with the extra, we'll just say eight hours if you had an extra eight hours, Amy? I probably would still want to sleep a little bit.
Starting point is 00:45:17 Oh, you're a sleeper, okay. Really? If I bought it, I already didn't need it, but I feel like I would benefit from it somehow. Lunchbox? If I had eight hours, golly. I mean, my wife and I can have some more one-on-one time. That's true. But that's 30 seconds, and it's over.
Starting point is 00:45:31 They have another seven hours and 59 minutes. 30 seconds. Oh, man. Then you wait about 20 minutes? 30 more seconds. Eddie, you play golf? Play golf, go fishing. Go for walks.
Starting point is 00:45:44 Yeah, I would probably... Well, you know what. Go for walks. I'd probably say all eight hours I would be working and writing stuff. But then my wife would say, hey, life's not all about work. And then the other four,
Starting point is 00:45:54 we'd probably go and do something with the dogs. Oh, basically, a long time. One-on-one time. Well, that would be a part of it. For sure. But that's four hours or so. But most people said they don't. They wouldn't sleep.
Starting point is 00:46:05 But why would you... If you don't have to sleep, Bob would you sleep? I guess not. We wouldn't know any different. We'd know any difference. Eddie has a dilemma. Eddie, so what's happening in your life right now?
Starting point is 00:46:14 There's a schedule conflict, and I had no idea I didn't put two and two together. I've been waiting for this for a whole year. When Pearl Jam, my favorite band, announced that they were coming to Nashville. I'm like, oh my gosh, this is it. They're coming to my town. For those that aren't 100, here's a clip of Pearl Jam.
Starting point is 00:46:28 Stop. They know who it is. I do. I like Pearl Jam, but if we have... If you're 25 to listen to the show, you don't know Pearl Jam. Oh, they know Pearl Jam. Okay, Eddie, no, Eddie loves Pearl Jam. They're coming to town.
Starting point is 00:46:41 It's my favorite band. And they're finally coming to town. So I, man, this was like months ago. I called a bunch of people, say, hey, you have connections. Can I get tickets? I've already got it all lined up. So I was so excited. And then about, I don't know what, three, four months ago,
Starting point is 00:46:55 our friend Steve decides to get married. He says, hey, I'm getting married this date. I said, great, dude, I'm so happy for you. I will be there. I didn't realize that these are both on the same weekend. I've been waiting for Pearl Jam for so, so long. I've got the tickets lined up, ready to go, and now I'm thinking this wedding is happening.
Starting point is 00:47:13 Do I really need to go to this wedding? Oh my gosh. Do you really need to go to the wedding? I don't know. Like, it's about them, right? Are you coming to us for advice? Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:47:21 Amy? Yeah, my, oh my gosh, wasn't like, oh, wow, go to the concert. It's a tough. It was like, no, oh my goodness, your friend gets married, what hopefully maybe wants. By twice or three times. You never know. You never know. But Steve is a special person in your life.
Starting point is 00:47:35 You can see Pearl Jam a completely different time. Figure it out. They've never come to Nashville, guys. Okay, go to another city where they are. Yeah, look at their tour schedule. Lunchbox. Hey, are you a groomsman? No.
Starting point is 00:47:48 I don't think there are. No, so I'm not. I'm just a person attending the wedding. That's it. He's just a person attending the wedding. Guess what? It's a very, very, very small wedding. I'm going to.
Starting point is 00:47:56 Guess what? Even smaller now. Go to Pearl Jam. That is so crazy. I mean, Steve would understand. I'm like, he's a big Cowboys fan. If the Cowboys were playing in the Super Bowl and it was Eddie's wedding, guess what he would do? He'd go to the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:48:08 That would make me so sad. You have to go to the wedding. You have to put Steve and your buddy's relationship in one hand and put Pearl Jam in your relationship with them and the other. Which one's going to be there for you in times are tough times? Well, they've been there. Their music has been there in tough times. You've paid for it. They're playing in Louisville the next day.
Starting point is 00:48:24 St. Louis. Go to St. Louis. Oklahoma City. St. Denver? Easy. Denver. That's far.
Starting point is 00:48:29 Whoa. It's a slight. You have to go to the wedding. Okay. You're right. That probably is the right thing to do. But now what do I do? I have to tell the people that I don't want the tickets anymore. That's going to be a tough one. That stinks. Or you can just get them and sell them. Oh, that's not a bad idea.
Starting point is 00:48:43 You can give them to somebody that would want them. Yeah, speaking of shows, I'm doing my very final show. I'm announcing it. We just announced it 15 minutes ago. In Nashville, October 22nd, it's my final comedically inspirational show. It's going to be awesome. I can't wait for you to come. Tickets, go and sell this Friday. My final comedically inspirational show, Nashville, October 22. And if there's a wedding of a close friend you need to go to instead of it, go to that wedding. Don't even come to my show. No, come to the show. No, go to that wedding, okay?
Starting point is 00:49:08 Tickets on sale Friday at bobbybones.com. All right, let's get over and do the news. Bobby's Big. Stories. An elementary school in Baltimore replaced suspension with meditation, and the results after six months have been so amazing that they want to continue at higher levels. In the trial, if a kid acts out, they don't go to the principal's office. instead, they head to the meditation room.
Starting point is 00:49:32 There, they do deep breathing exercises and learn how to release their stress and their anger by meditating. In all, repeated detention, decreased, kids acted out less, and less fights were reported compared to previous years. And I know, and that's stories from CNN,
Starting point is 00:49:51 and I know that sounds a little hippie-dippy, and I would go, man, they send me to meditation. I would just, like, make jokes and make cracks. but this is probably a metaphor for our justice system now where we're finding people that aren't doing crazy things, sticking them in jail for a long time and going, you know, you're just going to serve time. And we're like, why are the jails overcrowded?
Starting point is 00:50:13 Why are people coming out not changed at all when there are probably way more effective means? I don't know if we throw everybody in meditation, but it is a testament to the system that we have now for punishment isn't universally working. And so I like it. I think meditation's great if you can do it. I've struggled with it.
Starting point is 00:50:37 I've tried it a couple times. And it's not where you go home. I just try to turn the lights off and focus on me going, okay, I'm not going to think about anything. Oh, crap, gum. Think about everything. Oh, no, toenails.
Starting point is 00:50:49 Oh, remember in eighth grade? And I just struggle with that. But if you can do it, it's great. But this is, instead of going, oh, that never worked with my kid, how do you know? You probably never tried it. Oh yeah, no. And if you haven't tried it, you should try it at home because we do the breathing and there is something about it that helps reset the brain.
Starting point is 00:51:06 I can only imagine there would be people like lunchbox though to go to meditation and nobody can meditate. Oh, I'd be talking and you know what I would do? Fall asleep. Like once you turn on. That's great though. Because that's what you need then, then that is what should happen. Because like when you said you go, oh, you do it in the dark, I'd be asleep in two seconds. Like there's no, I'm going to sit here and concentrate on my breathing. I'm going to concentrate on the back of my eyelids.
Starting point is 00:51:27 Good night. Well, it doesn't have to be done in the dark, but for me, I focus on, oh, sunlight. Well, I wonder if the sun, if there's actually a kid. It's from my mind does. Also, Instagram's confirming it's testing a repost feature that will enable users to share other people's posts in their own feeds. Instagram is testing this. It was spotted by one of these riders when they were looking at the guy who's ahead of Instagram. And so it's basically a retweet, but for Instagram feed.
Starting point is 00:51:55 I don't know if I'll ever use it. I think it's probably an effective thing if you just want to share some ones. Yeah, I've downloaded an other app called the repost app that you have to go to in order to repost in Instagram. And it's a pain. So if they would just make it easier, that'd be great. I used to do that a long time ago. But now I don't repost anything from anybody. I'm cool.
Starting point is 00:52:14 Sometimes I'll repost an Instagram story and my story. Yeah. If it's something super cool. But in the feed, I don't think so. Airlines will now allow travelers to purchase a seat next to them for a small fee. This is from travel and leisure. Quantas, the airline, has launched a pilot program dubbed neighbor-free seating option, which allows passengers to pay to keep the seat next to them wide open.
Starting point is 00:52:37 Oh, I like that. And while this may sound like a way for airlines to get a whole bunch more money, it's like $20 to $35. Now, you can't on a super popular populated flight go and paying $35 bucks, that seat's free. Yeah. It's for mostly flights where there is, where it's really. and they go, this qualifies for that. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:52:59 So instead of they're just being in a bunch of empty seats in the back, you can make sure a seat is empty next to you. They make a little more, you get a little more privacy. Got it. You can look at whatever you want to look out on your iPad without somebody staring over your shoulder. Experts say a horrible flu season's coming. This is from prevention.com. So the flu sucks. If you get the real flu, it sucks.
Starting point is 00:53:23 It's terrible. I mean, it hurts. You don't eat for a long time. It takes forever to bounce back from. The real flu is really bad. I'm big flu shot guy. I know some of you aren't. I'm big flu shot guy.
Starting point is 00:53:39 The U.S. flu season generally starts in October and peaks between December and February. They say this one could be really bad. And that a lot of people haven't been doing their flu shots because either they're now full anti-shot everything. They don't want any shot at all because they're like, no shot. I don't care what it is. I'm not taking it. Or they've been so covered in the got to get your vaccine shots for COVID, they kind of forgotten about the flu shot. So they do say this one will be really severe, though. Finally, your friends want you to call them more, a new study finds.
Starting point is 00:54:12 They didn't ask me. The answer is? I don't mind being texted. I never answer a phone call. Right. Almost never do I answer a phone call. But nobody ever calls because I first. friends know I almost never answer a phone call.
Starting point is 00:54:27 But that's why I feel like you do answer because you're thinking, is this an emergency? I better, no? Like if Bobby calls, you know it's an emergency. Like, yes. Yeah. Because I don't call. You don't call. Now, if I FaceTime, it doesn't have to be an emergency.
Starting point is 00:54:42 Right. Because I would much rather FaceTime because FaceTime, you don't sit around and just hang out. Like you say your stuff and then you get off because you have to also look and be looked at. Yeah. If you're on the phone, you can move around and do things where they can't. see what you're doing. Yeah. So that doesn't stop, Eddie. He'll answer on the toilet, which is always weird. If you FaceTime, I'm assuming you really want to talk. From CNBC, people consistently underestimate how much their friends want to hear from them.
Starting point is 00:55:04 According to a new study published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, an out-of-the-blue phone call is actually very appreciated by the receiver, and the more surprising, the better. I'm not saying the study is wrong. I'm saying, I'm awed. That's mostly what I'm saying. But I think this is great. Maybe you just call up a friend today. And if they don't answer, leave them a message. I don't know. I don't understand this at all. The whole talking on the phone thing is weird to me now.
Starting point is 00:55:28 I like texting the occasional FaceTime, but they say reach out to somebody, just check in, have a phone call because most people like that. All right, there you go. Thank you very much. I'll say this. We, again, are putting on one more Nashville show. We announced it earlier, comedically inspirational.
Starting point is 00:55:45 Tickets go on sale Friday. It's happening here in town. It's the last one. The show is October 22nd. And the Vegas show at The Win in December is almost sold out this weekend. I mean, there's just a few tickets in each corner of the theater. So don't buy the ones that have been jacked up.
Starting point is 00:56:00 Don't buy the red ones because people have bought those and they're reselling them for like triple the price. It ain't worth it. I'm going to tell you right now. I do a good show, but it ain't worth paying $400 to come to the show. That's crazy. I don't do that good a show, you know? Go see Garf.
Starting point is 00:56:14 I think there are other people, so carrot top if you're in Vegas. Don't spend $400. It's going to be a good show, but it ain't worth that. Don't buy resale tickets. So, but there are, go to, uh, Bobby Bellens.com for both tickets. But those should be the final two shows of the year, but very excited about it. But do not buy resale tickets. I would rather you just not come and buy you a nice crock pot, maybe a pair of pants.
Starting point is 00:56:35 Oh, that's nice. Things you could use for a long time. Yeah, air fire. Yes. So Netflix is really going to stop putting out shows all at once. So no more binge watching. Oh. Which for the consumer, binge watching is awesome because you get to watch it.
Starting point is 00:56:51 You get to watch it. as many as you want, but it's been a pretty bad model for shows that want to catch on because, and I'm guilty of this, I'll watch an entire show in, let's just say even a week and a half, eight episodes. If like I really love it, I'll get in two at a time, I'll stay up late, I'll wake up early, I'll watch it. And only for that week and a half is it in my mind to talk about how good it is, and I move on, where if it's on week to week to week, sometimes I forget about it, though.
Starting point is 00:57:17 I forget. You still forget. Yeah, I'm like, oh no, I forgot it was watching the show. But when I'm talking to friends, like, what are you watching? Well, right now we're in the middle of succession or we're in the middle of right now it's the new Game of Thrones. So Netflix is saying, we're probably going to stop doing that now, which is in their best interest, I think, but it's not in ours. Because if we wanted to watch a week to week, we could. We could just go, okay, we'll do one this week.
Starting point is 00:57:40 And we'll do one. But we don't. We do because we're Americans and we like to have everything at once. And we're really, oh, give me more. They were completely changing the relationship with us. They gave us that. they, yeah, they did. They did, now they're taking it away.
Starting point is 00:57:51 But, you know, we're already kind of used to it because every other service does week to week. Yeah. So the binge watching now when they put out an entire season does feel even unfamiliar when Netflix does it. I'm like, oh yeah, I forgot. They put up 12 at a time. I'll see you in a week, everybody. So that's happening. There's also a story about getting your best sleep.
Starting point is 00:58:11 And they say, if you want the absolute best sleep, you should put your thermostat on 65. That's what I'm talking about. No. No way. You're freezing. That's too cold. Not for me. Not for me.
Starting point is 00:58:22 I love it. I hate being cold except when I'm sleeping because I can put blankets over or when I'm performing. And then cold me up. Make me cold. I'm thinking better. I'm sleeping better. Your whole theory in here, though, is to have it on, you would put it on 65 if you
Starting point is 00:58:37 could. I don't know. You guys complain. We're getting close. You start shivering at 66. It's like a car that shimmies. She shimmies at 83. You guys all start shivering at about 66, 67.
Starting point is 00:58:47 Yeah. So I can't get. get any colder. I know, but now you're creating an environment for us to go to sleep. After several sleep studies testing hours, logged quality sleep. They logged times people woke up. But it's about it being cold on the outside, but you're having
Starting point is 00:58:59 enough covers. And here you don't get covers, because you would go to sleep. Right, right. But we have like jacket and I'd pray to have less cloth. If we'd all go in our swimsuits and just be really on it. But if it was above 70 degrees, the people in the study tossed and turned and sweated while they slept. Below 63 became too cold.
Starting point is 00:59:16 Now, we should factor in. the electric bill. Yeah. That could be an issue too, if I'm just being honest. But I'm just telling you like premier prime time, if they're like, hey, you can set it whatever, and it's going to be an amount, 50 bucks a month regardless. I push it all the way down. But my wife does not like it cold.
Starting point is 00:59:36 I love it freezing. And so we settle at about 68, usually. Wow. You still win on that. Yeah, I think so, too. Here's how you do a negotiation. If you want a whole lot, you want a whole lot. You ask for even more than you want.
Starting point is 00:59:49 Oh, exaggerate a little bit. Yeah, yeah. So I was like, have I like to have 59. Is that possible? We settle on 68. So that story is from CNET. All right, let's go over to Joy and talk to her in North Carolina, who's on the phone. Hey, Joy, welcome to the show.
Starting point is 01:00:03 What's going on? Hey, morning studio. Morning. That's so cool. So I got your book, Bear Bones, and I noticed there are curse words in it. And I know you don't curse in your personal, like, verbal life. I was wondering how that came about or why you made that choice for your book to include curse words. Well, I haven't cursed in about four years.
Starting point is 01:00:26 I think I wrote the book about seven years ago, seven or eight years ago. But there are no F or S words, if I remember. I can't go back and read that. I won't go back and listen to the show. You know, I put it out there and I'm done. There are no bad words. There are these smaller curse words, but I don't even say those now. But I think that was just a different time.
Starting point is 01:00:47 I wrote that eight years ago and I stopped cussing about four but I like to say cursing because I sound more mature cursing. Cursing. No, cursing. Cursing. Yeah, sounds more mature. So how does that answer suit you, Joy?
Starting point is 01:01:03 Did you like the book? So I'm very early in the book kind of reading it when I can but I love it so far, a lot of insight. I love it and yeah, that answer makes sense. I forgot it was. It's kind of an older one. I just kind of just made the purchase.
Starting point is 01:01:20 Yeah. But I love it so far. Moby Dick and Bear Bones came out the same day. It's older. It's way back in the day. Well, I appreciate that, Joy. Thank you very. Do we have any of those books here?
Starting point is 01:01:30 Scoobo Steve or Ray, do we know? Because I'd love to send Joy assigned one, but I don't know if we haven't. We have the second one. I'll send you, Joy, my second one, fail until you don't, which is more of a motivational, pretty cool book, too. No cursing. I actually have that one too And I was gonna, yeah, I haven't broken into that one
Starting point is 01:01:51 But I have that one too Okay, well I'll send you a sign Okay, how about Stanley the dog? Wait, do you have any kids? I do and she just started first grade this month Okay, perfect. We found it. I'm gonna send you Stanley the dog The First Day of School about
Starting point is 01:02:05 Fitting in and why it's not so important to fit in As long as you be yourself. There's no cursing in that one though, right? Well, hey, no, I'm kidding. It's a kid's book. Joy, can I send you one of those? That'd be amazing. Okay, I'm going to put you on hold and get your name and sign it for your first grader.
Starting point is 01:02:21 Okay, thank you, Joy. Put her on hold, please. Visit Redfin.com to start finding and start owning. Redfin.com. Let's talk about tipping for a second. Amy, what do you got? Well, this came up because we were at Sonic and we were tipping our car hop
Starting point is 01:05:23 and then my daughter said, does she have to share that with everybody else that's out here car hopping? And I said, I don't think so. I assume she may be tips to the cooks but then she gets to keep whatever she earns unless another server helps her in some way. And she was like, oh, I always thought that,
Starting point is 01:05:39 you know, for some reason someone had told her she saw on a show that everybody put tips in the bucket at the end. of the night and they were divided equally amongst the entire staff. I don't even think it's Sonic you tip your cook. I think that's at a restaurant we didn't tip our chefs or cooks either because they get a real salary. And I'm sure every situation's different.
Starting point is 01:05:59 But what we would do, well first, when I used to bus tables, you'd work really hard and you'd try to help the wait staff because they would tip you out at the end of the night. So you don't really make tips unless somebody goes, hey, you're over there grinding. Let me give you an extra five. Almost never happened. But if you worked really hard and you had a good server that you're working with, they'd give you $15,20 bucks depending on how their night went. Because you're just trying to make it easier for them so they can get more work done
Starting point is 01:06:25 so they can make more tips. So, but no, you almost never pull. There are situations where people pull where individually it doesn't matter as much. But if you're like grinding and doing your own customer service and being prompt, Those tips are usually for you. Yeah. Okay. So, I mean, I figured.
Starting point is 01:06:47 I never made it to server. I only made it to hostess. Did you ever try to be a server, though? It terrified me, to be honest. So, I mean, and I grew up in the restaurant business, and I figured I was pretty good at hostessing, and that's about where I left it. If you work a buffet, sometimes they would split those tips.
Starting point is 01:07:04 Oh, yeah. Because, again, the people are doing their thing, and they're leaving a tip. So there are situations in certain kinds of restaurants to where my friends would split tips. Yeah. But mostly if you're basing your, your liability on your customer service to people,
Starting point is 01:07:18 you don't want to have to go split it with other folks. Unless you sucked, it's like a group project in high school. Somebody else pulled all that. Yeah, where you're like, I'm not good at this. I'm going to go with somebody who's smart. So I can, you know, just kind of draft off of them. So, but that's cool. She's talking about it.
Starting point is 01:07:31 Does she want to work at all? Yes. Sonic is on the list. And then this clothing store called Francescas is on the list, but you have to be 16 to work there. And I was telling her about how my friend, highly in high school worked at Sonic and brought in all kinds of cash. Lots of money.
Starting point is 01:07:45 She roller skated. So like if you elevate it. Well, that is true. Even one of the Sonic owners, franchise owners we had on the show, and he said that the people who roller skate, they don't say, hey, you owe me more. Because they come out and they're doing something different, usually they just get a couple bucks extra. Yeah, it's like, ooh, okay.
Starting point is 01:08:04 At Sonic, you also make minimum wage. You don't make lesser like at a restaurant. where I would make way less than minimum wage because I was getting all these tips. So, yeah, Sonic would be good. Those are the two on her list. I just know I'd wreck into a car. I know it.
Starting point is 01:08:20 Even if I was a good skater, like law of average is eventually going to hit and I'm going to crash and someone's food going in somebody's window. Just even the best, even the best fall down sometime. So, but that would be awesome if she went to Sonic. I would go. I would go and get a water and then tip the crap out of her.
Starting point is 01:08:37 Okay. Yeah, I bet you would. She took her to, Sonic once where y'all tipped somebody like, what did you tip her $100 or something? It doesn't matter why they'll tips. That's probably why she wants to work at Sonic now. Yeah, that's why, exactly. Wasn't it her own birthday?
Starting point is 01:08:52 No, it was my birthday. No, Bobby came over to my house for my birthday and Bobby disappeared with Stashear for like 45 minutes. Well, that disappeared. No, well, that doesn't sound weird. I said, hey, we're going because she wanted a fanta from the gas station. Yeah. So I said, hey, I'm going to take her to get a fanta.
Starting point is 01:09:08 But then we went by Sonic as well. And I was like, hey, when you tip, like, tip what you can if you can. No, it was a cool memory for her. I think, yeah, she remembers it and thought it was really cool. So, yes, that's... She thinks that's every tip, now? Like, why aren't more people doing this? Ramundo, let's update because our IHard Radio Music Festival is, okay, it's not this weekend, but it's next weekend?
Starting point is 01:09:33 The next weekend, yeah, so a week and a half away, two weeks away. Not this, but next. Got it. And there was a contest in our company. You don't get to go as part of the show, which I do think is weird because you are as valuable as anybody else here. Even myself, I'll say it. And I think it's why. Why is everybody laughing?
Starting point is 01:09:50 No, he laughed. He laughed. That's why I'm laughing. I think it's wild that you don't get to go. But okay, it's not a fun trip, meaning they're not bringing people just to reward them. Like, we have to go and work the whole time. Maybe they didn't see a job for you. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:10:01 I wish you could go. But you're not going. So you're trying to go a different route, which is have the company award you because people have nominated you. Correct. I got like 10 to 15 nominations. They had five VIP trips that they're giving out. Do you know now? Yeah. You do know.
Starting point is 01:10:15 Yes. If you go, okay. Oh my gosh. Come on. Okay. Ray, we voted for you. We voted right. Did I vote?
Starting point is 01:10:22 I did? I don't remember if I voted. Well, I don't know my law again, so Mike D voted for me for Ray. I said, hey, Mike, I don't know my law again. Would you vote for Ray for me? Okay. So, Scova, do you know if Ray got it? I do not.
Starting point is 01:10:34 You don't know. Okay. I don't know, no. When did you find out if you did or didn't get it? Friday. Wow. Who thinks he got it? I do.
Starting point is 01:10:44 You do? Yeah, because I'm going to keep that hope alive. I don't think so. I think they're going to give to someone in like accounting just because they feel like on-air people get enough as it is. That's a good point. That is a good point. That's what I think they're not going to reward on-air people. I would think sales.
Starting point is 01:10:57 Yeah. Like people that... Ray. What do you know? So five VIP trips? I... He didn't get it. He sent it up in the bad way.
Starting point is 01:11:06 Did not get the free trip. Dang it. I did get a gift card though. gift card, though. For how much? $100. To where? That's pretty good. Is that to Sonic? American Express. You can use it wherever you want.
Starting point is 01:11:17 From us to Sonic. Scoot. I slid him one instead of us from the company. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. So our vote did count. Our vote got him $100. Yep. Are you sad? I don't know. Bays are at the hysterectomy, so I really don't know if I can fly over to Vegas and gamble for an entire weekend. It's probably not responsible. So she couldn't go regardless. No, definitely not. Okay, so I shouldn't just pay for you to go and send you my money. Oh, that would be sick, but that would not be a good. boyfriend. A husband.
Starting point is 01:11:43 Ray, Ray, right, right, right, right, right. Before you turn it down. That's not a good husband. Because literally that's what I was going to do, Ray. I was to say, I'll get, but. Ray, before you turn it down, you might want to text your wife and see if she's okay with you going. Like, don't turn it down. Don't be dumb. I already know that answer.
Starting point is 01:11:56 Yeah, you can't. It's two weeks away. She'll be fine by then. Oh my gosh. Yeah, you try getting your womb and your uterus removed. Yeah, please. He doesn't have one. Please. I'm telling you, two weeks, she'll be back going to the bars. You have been quite the good husband as far as taking care of her.
Starting point is 01:12:13 Oh, my goodness. We went by Ray's place Saturday? Friday? Friday? Friday after Bay had had her surgery, Ray's wife. And, you know, we don't want to bother them, but we dropped off some stuff. And we were going to walk up and Ray met us at the car. And just talked to her.
Starting point is 01:12:29 She was like, Ray's been so attentive. So great job, buddy. Yeah, I mean, I made that promise on the altar, so I think I pretty much have to, right? Oh, insignis and help? No, you want to. You didn't sign anything. You do, actually. But not that.
Starting point is 01:12:41 You sign a marriage license, not that promise. I mean, she can stay with her parents for the weekend, Ray. That's really good, Ray. I like it. Good job. You're responsible. You're growing up, Ray. Who knew it would be?
Starting point is 01:12:50 Wow. But if he had won the trip, what would you have done because of her surgery? We've all lost. That's right. Ray, what would you have done? That's the predicament I'm glad I don't have to decide on this. There you go. I like that.
Starting point is 01:13:04 Bobby Bones show. Bonehead. Story of the day. This story comes us from Lovejoy, George. A man's walking through Walmart, marking things off his list, got the milk, got the provolone cheese, oh, got to go get the Cheerios. He's walking. He has a gun in his waistband.
Starting point is 01:13:21 Starts to slide down. It's falling. He goes to catch it. Boom! Shoots himself in the leg. But the bullet doesn't stop there. Rickshades off the floor hits not one. Not two, but three other customers.
Starting point is 01:13:34 Oh, no. How did the bullet hit so many customers? It's all here. He went through his leg off the floor. Boom, boom, boom. Poor jar of spaghetti sauce. Just like in the movie. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:46 Determined bullets. So what happened? So he was arrested for having a gun, firing it in public. Can I guess if he probably wasn't supposed to have a gun? It says he was not supposed to have a gun in the Walmart. Doesn't say if he wasn't supposed to have a gun, period. I feel like a person that would happen to probably shouldn't have a gun anyway.
Starting point is 01:14:04 And also you got to the kick save. Oh, well, you break the fall? I draw on my phone all the time. I draw on my phone. I'm like, kick save, because then it, even though it still hits the ground, it isn't falling as hard. It's a softer hit. Yeah, like breakups and the momentum. You've got to kick save that gun.
Starting point is 01:14:19 I'm lunchbox. That's your bonehead story of the day. Let's go over and do the good news countdown. It's the good news countdown.
