All right, let's go. We're going to start this one a little different. I'm just going to ask you a simple question and then you can do your thing here.
Starting point is 00:01:54 But at first, he's a producer of the videos. He's got four kids. Eddie, what would you say your favorite TV show is right now of all the TV shows? Current shows. Right now it's the White Lotus. Oh, yeah, season two, huh? I'm right in the middle of it. So, yeah, I'm loving it. Here he is. Produce ready, everybody.
Starting point is 00:02:07 Hey, guys, I have a huge update. My Instagram account, we've been trying to get that blue check mark. Yeah, I've tried forever. I know. We've tried so hard. I've been just stressing about it. You have not been trying. But what did they say?
Starting point is 00:02:18 Oh, I'm not famous enough. I'm not on the news enough. Well, somebody from the company called me yesterday and said, hey, I have them on the line. We think we can figure it out. There's one change you need to make to your account. Apparently, when I open Instagram, I just have my name Eddie. Oh, that's why they can't find. So you can't verify an Eddie?
Starting point is 00:02:38 So she said, just add your last name to it and we think that we can get it verified. That's probably why you're not famous because you're just Eddie. I'm just Eddie. There's millions of Eddie. And you don't have to be famous. You just have to be somebody that's somebody we want to impersonate. And you do get impersonated. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:51 And I guess it's easy to impersonate an Eddie because it's just Eddie. Wow. Okay. I changed my, I put my last name on there. So now I'm official. They said hopefully it works and I will get verified. I can't wait to get that blue check mark. That can't wait to get that blue check mark.
Starting point is 00:03:03 Come on. That is a big deal. That is a big deal. They retire as soon as you get it. No, no, no. Leave your boots on the floor and walk off. Just like wrestling. Wow.
Starting point is 00:03:10 Okay, lunchbox, your favorite TV show right now. The challenge is challenge ride or dies, man. It is awesome. You got to pick. That's not a new show. Here he is. Lunchbox, everybody. Go ahead, buddy.
Starting point is 00:03:21 Guys, well, six months ago, there was a big storm that rolled through. A big old tree branch fell on my roof, left three holes. Is this an update too? Yeah, this huge update. Update, two updates. Let's go. I was going to be on Amy's sister, stupid, TV show. They ghosted me, gave me the cold shoulder, never heard from them again.
Starting point is 00:03:40 And so I finally did it. I called insurance and I said, hey, I got a tree branch that fell on my roof. I need to file an insurance claim. What you're like, it was the great storm of 2019. And they're like, oh, no, what happened? I was like, yeah, about a week ago, a storm came through. Oh, fraud, insurance fraud. Flag it. You're lying. And they came out. The guy came out and he's going to give me, I'm supposed to be getting an estimate in the next couple days of how much it's going to cost to fix my roof. Daddy, Daddy, it's warm in the house again.
Starting point is 00:04:06 Thank you. Ready for that? Yeah, I mean, so the tarps will be coming down. There's going to be work, construction. I mean, we may have to move. Move? I mean, while they construct, right? They're just patching up a couple holes.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Yeah. It's good that you're doing that, though, finally. But I finally did it, so there will be no TV show. I mean... Did your wife make you do it? Yep. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:29 Right now, it's Yellowstone. It is good right now. It is good. It could go either. way, though, right now. Really? Well. Bobby said he thought he jumped the shark. I said it's definitely at a place now where it can jump the shark because now
Starting point is 00:04:41 Kossner is the governor of a state. And so that's such a big change from how the show started that it could either be tumbling downhill or it could give it another four seasons. And, you know, I know he's new to being governor or whatever, but he does a lot of standing around and just looking at land. And I'm like... He goes to his place and still just looks at it. Really?
Starting point is 00:05:01 All right, what is yours? Okay, so I thought that Bobby Bones and the Raging Idiots were playing a festival. And it was a three-night festival. Which we done before? Yeah, totally made sense. The headliner of the night y'all were playing was George Strait. Is it a dream? No.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Eddie posted it on Instagram. It was a whole flyer. And I was a little bit irritated at first. Like, is this the announcement? Maybe why would they not tell me this is George Strait? I need to go to this. Oh. And then I'm like, what is?
Starting point is 00:05:32 Rachel Fest. That was the name of the festival. And I'm like, who's Rachel? And I say it out loud to a friend that was with me. And she said, oh. Bob Day is playing Rachel Fest? Rachel Fest, baby? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And she said, oh, no, that's a thing that's going around on socials right now where it takes your playlist and it creates your dream festival for you. Based on the songs you've listened to the most. I think Pink Floyd was on there too. I'm like, that's awesome. It's like Elvis. Elvis is doing Night 2. I mean, but all I saw was George and big letters and then Eddie saying like, oh my gosh, can't wait. Rachel Fest, 2022. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:06:07 Let's get that thing going. Let's go. Rachel sounds as right would say lit. Yeah, so some girl, Rachel, posted it, and then Eddie reposted her and it got me. Rachel Fest, that sounds pretty good. It does sound awesome. I think it's a Spotify and Apple thing, right? They make that up.
Starting point is 00:06:19 Yeah. That's pretty cool. Okay, my favorite TV show right now is peripheral. The finale was Friday. I love it. It's about a, I want to say this, it's about virtual reality. At least you think it is. Like the Oculus?
Starting point is 00:06:32 Yeah, it is. I mean, it's just a newer version of it. And going, I love it. It's on Amazon Prime, so that's it for me. Okay, here's my Mount Rushmore of Gas Station snacks. And I say this because we traveled during the holiday and someone had asked, hey, you're on the road, what is your Mount Rushmore of gas station snacks? So I spent a lot of time with this.
Starting point is 00:06:49 And I feel like it's important enough to share right now. Number one, the bag of Rolos. The bag. The bag. The bag. The bag. The bag. Like 50 count?
Starting point is 00:06:57 Like the bag that you don't have to open the package of the stick. bag that they're not all individually wrapped. Okay. I love a rollo. One of the most underrated candies. Who doesn't love chocolate? Caramel. Carmel's a little overrated.
Starting point is 00:07:09 It is not. Rolos number one. Number two, funnions. Now, I don't ever get run. I don't ever get Rolos unless I'm driving on the road for some reason. Like, I guess they don't taste good to me when I'm driving my own town. But funnions, same thing. Never will buy funnions at the grocery store.
Starting point is 00:07:25 But if I'm stopping at a gas station, for some reason, I got to have some funnions. That's number two. Number three, atomic fireballs. Oh, really? Yeah, I don't like hot stuff either, but I get the big real name brand ones if they're there, but if not, I'll get one of those little packages for 99 cents. Of the bag? Yes, of like cinnamon fireballs, like the generic kind.
Starting point is 00:07:45 So I get those, and it keeps me like awake. I like those. It hurts my teeth, though, sometimes. And then finally, I love a chocolate pretzel. And in second layer, it would be the yogurt pretzels. I don't like those as much, but I love a chocolate cover pretzel, And even in the bag, they make, they have different kind of chocolate of pretzels. Like Hershey's makes one.
Starting point is 00:08:04 Wow. I love the chocolate and the sweet. And so that's usually dinner if I'm on the road. The salty sweet. I got all that. All the food groups. That's my road food group. But isn't it weird that I don't even want a funnier ever unless I'm seven counties over?
Starting point is 00:08:16 And I'm like, turn about the hankering for a funnion. You're right about that, though. Even if you're in the grocery store and you see Funnier, you're like, no, I don't need that. But gas station, that's mine. It sounds like when you're on the road, you go back to, like, you turn to a sixth grade. Sixth grader or something. Yeah. You have a great boy.
Starting point is 00:08:33 Atomic. That's it. Fireball. That's it. That's how we're doing the show. We're starting it right now. Thank you very much. We got a big hour, not this hour, but next hour.
Starting point is 00:08:41 Joey Lugano's coming in. Yes. Champ's here. Yeah, man. NASCAR. And so he's going to come in and sit with us for a while and talk. We're going to talk about fights and going fast. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:08:51 But here's the thing. I don't know a whole lot about NASCAR, but Morgan number one does, who used to work on this show. Now she works with me, another. park, but she's massive NASCAR fan, so she's going to do the interview with me. So when I ask something like, do you pee in your suit that she's like, hey, this race, you know, got it? It's the balance. It's a balance.
Starting point is 00:09:09 Hey, thanks for hanging out with us. It's time for the mailbag. You send an email and we read it on the air. It's something we call Bobby's Mailbag. Hello, Bobby Bones. I know, you've raised three puppies and Amy has a doodle of some sort, but I got a question. And my husband and I just got a 10-week-old mini golden doodle. What is that?
Starting point is 00:09:32 A golden duttle. A golden retriever with a doodle, but somehow... What was a doodle? A poodle. A poodle. Sorry, poodle. But a miniature poodle comes from. Got it.
Starting point is 00:09:41 Miniature, yeah. And we're wondering if the show could give any tips and tricks for raising and training puppies, especially in the winter months. We live in a apartment complex, and we're looking into group puppy training at a pet store because it's more affordable. I think it's a good effort, and it can be exhausting. but a little encouragement and advice would be appreciated. Thanks. Golden Doodle Holly. Well, here's my first bit of advice is that it's normal when you want to pull your hair out
Starting point is 00:10:06 and you have an emotional breakdown. That's normal because you have a puppy and they're very, very hard. It's also very hard if you're trying to crate train your dog to not use the bathroom in the house, which we did, to leave them in the crate because they whine and you feel sad and that you're a new puppy. That's hard, but you got to do it. You got to be strong because being strong for them then is actually more love because of what they will get from it overall and later. So it's very hard. Puppies are very hard.
Starting point is 00:10:31 As long as you know that going in, you're fine. You just have to have consistency with the puppy from whatever it is that you have to be consistent with your rules. You have to be consistent with if you're training them, making sure they get their rewards. So consistency and knowing that it's okay that you want to pull your hair out because that's kind of the agreement you sign when you get a puppy because they're very hard. Amy? Well, eventually you'll get there to the other side and you won't even remember those hard days because my doodles are rescue and
Starting point is 00:11:03 she was an adult when we got her but she was not potty trained because she was tied up outside for most of her life and it was like we have this adult dog that is not potty trained and was using the, I mean it was the worst and I'm like what have we done? And then finally she caught on and we did some training with her but Bobby's right.
Starting point is 00:11:23 Consistency is key because I am not consistent and she's a hot mess. Still, yeah. But that's big case. But she's potty trade. And here's the other practical advice I would give you. Have the pee cleaner. The spray. Yeah, urine be gone or something like that.
Starting point is 00:11:37 There's urine gone. Yeah. Get a few bottles of that and just have it because you will use it. And it's just going to happen. And there's going to be furniture that gets chewed. There's a be collateral damage in this. Yeah. What do you do with that?
Starting point is 00:11:46 Like, they're chewing the furniture. Oh, I bought this stuff that tastes really hot. You order it's for dogs and you can spray it on things. you don't want them to chew, and it's supposed to be a really bad taste in their mouth, so they won't lick it. That's cool. Yeah, I didn't do that.
Starting point is 00:11:57 Mostly, if I see Ella, because Ella occasionally will chew on some bottom piece of furniture, if she's really bored, or it's just restless, and I'll just leave the room. And it'd be like, Caitlin is, you seen Eller? You act like you didn't see anything. Okay. I said what I said?
Starting point is 00:12:14 That's messed up, man. I said what I said, and I'll never say it again. Good luck with the puppy. It's going to be hard, but it's going to be worth it. Thank you for emailing. Close it up. We've got your email and we read it on your air. Now it's about to close Bobby's mailbag.
Starting point is 00:12:28 Yeah. Champ, Joey Lugano will be in in about 20 minutes. If you love NASCAR, or if you love me, not knowing much about NASCAR and sound like an idiot, this is the interview for you. So Joey Lugano coming up in just a few minutes, which is why we're going to do Amy's Pile early. Yes.
Starting point is 00:12:46 I know it feels odd, but let's do it now. The Bible Bowl show. Here's Amy's Pile of Stories. I have the top TV shows of 2022, the most watched. Are they all new? So is it new shows or is it like The Office? Again, wins. Oh, yeah, they're new. Okay. Top.
Starting point is 00:13:02 Oh, we'll just go over the top five. Well, you just move off of them so quick. They're great and they come and they go. And you're like, this is the greatest show onto the next year. You kind of forget you even watched it. Yep. I think one of the ones that I loved the most this year was the one on Apple about they had the split work and home life.
Starting point is 00:13:16 Severance. Loved it. Does that make the list? Yes, it's at number 13. Out of 25. That's down there, man. No, that's still top 13. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:24 But there's a lot, I mean, okay. Of all, the shows. Already grinching me up. That's not my style of show. All right, go ahead, five, four, three, two, one, go. Five is never, have I ever. I mean, we used to play that game. No, I only used to watch the cool kids play the game.
Starting point is 00:13:37 I never got invited. But I didn't watch the show. Number four. You watch this one, the bear. It's a good one. Yeah, the chef one. The cooking show, yeah. Well, it's not, yeah, the chef.
Starting point is 00:13:47 The fictional show about a chef who's brother dies. Yes. Not a cooking show. I said that wrong. Go ahead. Yellowstone at three House of Dragons House of Be Dragons
Starting point is 00:13:56 Two Don't be insulting with your tone It's Game of Thrones It's a prequel It's excellent Yeah I'm sure it is And at number one It's the number two show haters
Starting point is 00:14:05 Say whatever you want It's the number two show It doesn't make it good Hey scoreboard Look at the scoreboard Yeah oh yeah look at it Go ahead Well I don't watch number one either
Starting point is 00:14:12 Star Wars and or Oh it's number one I start making fun of that one Morgan did you watch that one Yeah I did It was really good I believe her. I know Morgan likes upload, and that's at number 10.
Starting point is 00:14:24 Ball don't lie. You know, number one, it must be good. Ball don't lie. All right, what else you got? Okay, KFC is testing out funnel cake fries. Are they sweet? Yeah, funnel cake is sweet. They've got the sugar powder, but it's just like a funnel cake,
Starting point is 00:14:38 but in the shape of a fry. And if they roll this out to every KFC, for now it's in select ones, they say that you should pair it with, like, chicken strips, and it's kind of that salty, sweet chicken wreaths. waffle type thing, but with a funnel. I mean, I'm a sucker for a funnel cake. You know what I had that was really good? I paired it together. What?
Starting point is 00:14:57 We have these orange drinks. They're like probiotic, sodas. My stomach's always really messed up. But it's like any orange work, sun kissed, whatever. I was eating some crackers. Again, the stomach issue. And I put the cracker on mouth and I was rushing. So I poured the orange drink over the cracker because I was just trying to get it. And I was like, oh, I didn't mean to do this.
Starting point is 00:15:16 It's grow. Oh. It was really good. Like a tangy. It's like salty. Yeah. Okay. So the combo is put a cracker in your mouth and take a swig of the orange drink.
Starting point is 00:15:28 Sunny D. This drink that I have is called Poppy, P-O-P-P-I. And it's a probiotic soda. Ooh, I want to try that. It's not like a dessert. It's fine. I like that burn, which is why I was drinking sparkling water. And I try to fix my stomach issues different ways or like at least, you know, trim some corners.
Starting point is 00:15:45 But don't drink it going, oh, Bobby really recommends the taste of it. Okay, what else? Well, I want to talk about some country songs They're almost done by other people And speaking of fried chicken Chicken fried is by Zach Brown band But that almost went to Alan Jackson Oh yeah
Starting point is 00:16:02 Didn't he not want to do it because he had already done the baloney song That's right What's the song that he said? I like fried I still like baloney Yeah I still like baloney Oh you have this He did a bunch of food song
Starting point is 00:16:13 And then where I come from Corn, bread and chicken That one's interesting because Zach Brown wrote that one and offered it to him as a songwriter and he said no but then Zach Brown did it. A lot of these were offered to people and they said no
Starting point is 00:16:25 that somebody else cut it because a songwriter had written it. All right, what else? Big Green Tractor. Jake Owen passed on that and ended up being a number one for Al Bean. I talked to him about this and he was like,
Starting point is 00:16:36 it just didn't feel like it was authentic to me. He goes, I didn't have a tractor. I'm like from Florida. And I don't think he's angry he didn't cut the song because I was like, bro, That's a lot of money.
Starting point is 00:16:49 But eight second ride was him? Yeah. But he's in a truck. He's in a truck. Oh, that's right. It's about a bull. Big old truck. I was going to say, Jake, you're Florida.
Starting point is 00:16:59 He never got a bull. Yeah, exactly. That's a great question. But it's about a truck. Got it. He does have a big truck. And that album, though, that whole album of his was definitely a different vibe from Jake. Yeah, I like I like, I like, y'ah.
Starting point is 00:17:11 Yeah. Heelaw. Whiskey Lollaby, Dirk's Bentley could have done it, but he thought it was too depressing. sing, so it was a huge hit for Brad Paisley and Allison Cross instead. I love it. One of my favorite country songs of all time. I'm Amy. That's my pile. That was Amy's Pile of Stories. It's time for the good news. With Bobby. Tanya Ragsdale and 11 of her friends went to the Walpole House in their town and they had 100 bucks each. Their bill after they all eight was about 80 bucks. So everybody just put their hundred down and left the waitress a tip of 1100.
Starting point is 00:17:47 And that was their plan all along to eat and just basically pimp some joy. The kind gesture brought the waitress to tears. She was talking to the TV station about it. Look at this lunchbox. It made the news for this tip. I know. I tried to- You know.
Starting point is 00:18:02 When I tip people, no one does anything about it. You didn't tip $1,100. I don't have $1,100 to give. And she didn't either, but she got with her friends and they all. It's a significant amount, obviously, $100. Okay, guys, you guys want to give me some money? No, no, they all did it together. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:18:16 I'll tip somebody. Do you think if we were all eating together, which is what happened was, they would want to talk to you or probably Amy before you? Probably Amy. Because she's. But then I would say, oh, no, no, no, no, talk to my friend lunchbox. And then they would say, oh, here's Bobby. It's Bobby Bones.
Starting point is 00:18:28 I wouldn't do it. That's right. And so I'm talking about it. I'd give it to you. She says they always do some kind of gift, some kind of gesture. And this was the thing they wanted to do this year. And they went in, had some waffles, a little sausage and tipped her. And that's awesome that they made, like made it a priority to do that.
Starting point is 00:18:42 And I hope you guys do as well. And, you know, coming up soon, our St. Jude Radioathon. That's a way for you to give back as well. And that's coming up. It's 19 bucks a month. Be a partner in Hope. Wait for that show. The date of that. Hey, Scoob, what's the date of our St. Jude. That's this week Thursday and Friday. Oh, it is. It's... Yeah, it's having this week. I should prepare better. It's Thursday and Friday. I thought it was that this week, this week or next week. Okay, St. Jude Radiothon. This week, Thursday and Friday. We hope you can be a partner in hope. All right. Thank you. That is what

Starting point is 00:20:50 People who switch their car insurance to Geico save about $900 a year. Experts are calling that nice to know. Also, plants can hear when bees buzz. My phycas just heard that. And finally, animal experts have confirmed that goats have regional accents. I'm getting a hint of Irish there. It feels good to get good news. It feels good to Geico.
Starting point is 00:21:12 On the Bobby Bones show now. Joey Lugano. Joey, good to see you, man. Thank you. It's happening. Joey walked in and dropped a helmet off, and he said something snide, then sat down and laughed.
Starting point is 00:21:22 So you brought this helmet. You're not an Arkansas Razorback football fan, I assume? I mean, I just thought a race car helmet looked better. That's all. It does. It actually looks really cool. I'm going to leave it up here, so I appreciate that.
Starting point is 00:21:34 This is my stupid question here. How much does a helmet like that cost? By the time you're all said and done, like the actual race helmets, They're, you know, probably five, six grand by the time you're all sudden done with the radios on them. They're all carbon fiber. They're really nice and light. They got all the stuff.
Starting point is 00:21:48 It's my head, okay? I don't want to cut any corners with my head. I guess my real question is, how much can I pawn that for? Yeah. Well, I'm being honest, that's a replica, so you probably can get a couple hundred bucks for. Yeah, I'll take it. I'm super pumped you here. And so I also, so one, the people who works closest with me and she's been a part of my show in my life for a long time.
Starting point is 00:22:07 Morgan, come over here and have a seat. Morgan is a massive fan of NASCAR. Awesome. She's going to make sure that I ask all the good questions that hardcore fans want to know, because most of my questions are stupid. For example, you're really tall. How do you fit in a car? I do.
Starting point is 00:22:23 My car is, I mean, it's made for me. How tall are you? I'm 6-2. I'm one of the taller guys out there. But your seat, you know, it's a carbon fiber bucket, and then they pour an insert for you. So it's a foam. They build your seat around you, basically?
Starting point is 00:22:38 to fit you like perfectly. Do you do that in your real car though? Can you be like, I wish. Because it is the most comfortable thing in the world. You would never want to leave your car if you said. If you had a seat molded directly to your body the way we do, you would, it's awesome. Yeah, I'd like that. Garth Brooks has made this chair.
Starting point is 00:22:54 That's what you need. You need a custom molded chair here. I got one from Garth Brooks is way better than yours because Garth Brooks gave it to me. Well, it's probably right. Yeah, yeah. That's probably right. I can't compete with that. Okay, Morgan, that's my stupid question.
Starting point is 00:23:06 What is a great, what's a great Joey Logano? question here that fans would want to know. Well, this is just a nosy question I have. So you, you won the clash, the first race of the season, but you kind of had to decide, am I going to potentially miss the birth of my daughter? How does that conversation go down? I know we saw a little bit of it in the USA show Race for the Championship, but off-camera, like how do you actually decide you may miss the birth of a child?
Starting point is 00:23:35 It was hard because, I mean, it's like the worst. spot like it's good and bad right because you're about to have you know a great moment with a birth of your of your third child our first daughter and we're racing in l.A. We live in north Carolina. So you're all the way across the country. It's our third kid. Everyone says a third one pops out like a slip and slide. So you're like, all right, this is going to happen pretty quick. And you don't know if you're going to get home in time. I'm going to be all the way out in the other side of the country. It's going to take me at least at least eight hours by the time I get on a plane, fly all the way home, drive to the hospital.
Starting point is 00:24:10 I do the whole thing, and I may miss that. And then I'm going to miss the race, too. And so I did what any smart husband would do and said, honey, you tell me what to do. And so that's what worked out. And she said, you know what? When you leave to go out there, you're there. You're full committed, go racing.
Starting point is 00:24:28 And then she goes, I'll be fine. What about if it had been the first kid? You said this. What about it had been in the first kid, Joey, different situation? Gosh, I don't know. We were fortunate enough that he was born in January when we're not racing, so it was okay. I mean, it was a tough decision for sure because it's kind of the what if something goes wrong, right? Like, what if you need to be there for something?
Starting point is 00:24:51 And thank God everything went smooth. And the way it all worked out was perfectly. It's exactly the way we had it planned up was go out there when the race come home, we'll have the baby. How long until you had the baby once you got back home? It was two days later. Did you get on a plane right after the race? Yep. After the race, I flew home.
Starting point is 00:25:06 it was the next day we went into the hospital and she popped out. I'm telling you she wouldn't have been so happy if all of a sudden he's on like turn eight and all of a sudden the baby starts coming out. What are you going to do? It's such a, it's a tough spot. It's a part of, it's the life we live too,
Starting point is 00:25:21 because you're put in a spot whether are you letting your family down, your wife down by not being there or you're letting your team down by not being there, right? They have a lot that's committed to our race team as well, right? There's a lot of bonuses and their families rely on you as well
Starting point is 00:25:35 to go do your job. So now you're like, you're stuck in the middle. And it's a, I mean, like I said, it's a great spot to be because you're assuming the birth of your child, it's great. But it's also a tough spot to be. If the baby would have started, let's say she wanted to labor, would they have told you in your ear during the race?
Starting point is 00:25:51 So I said, you tell me, like, a rate after the race, like if we cross the start finish line, if she's having the baby, I am driving straight out of the racetrack. We're not doing media. I am driving the race car to the airport. I'm going. So I didn't have to do that, which was good, though. Joey Legano is here. We're talking, first of all, congrats on such a successful season.
Starting point is 00:26:10 I mean, when you were coming in, there's a passion with college football fans and NASCAR fans, and there are a lot of parallels between the two, but I said Joy Legano's coming in, and some people, you would have thought I just slapped their grandma. Now, I had not met you. You are extremely warm. You walk in the room, you're smiling, you said hi to everybody. You're a kind guy. But why? would people not like you? What? Like, what did you do to them, Joey? Well, nothing to them particularly, like directly. So here's the thing. I think this is true in probably all sports. And it's really hard for, I think, a lot of people to understand is that when you get in a
Starting point is 00:26:52 competitive environment, like driving a race car or playing football or basketball or whatever it may be, you have to flip a switch and become very selfish. Because you have to win. It's not about being nice. It's not about doing the right thing. It's about winning the race. That's all that matters in those moments. So you become a different person. And I think it's really hard for people to understand how you can do one thing on the racetrack and then get out, take your helmet off, and be a normal person, right? And be actually kind to people, right? But that's what it is, though. Like, my job is to go out there and win and kick everyone's butt. Like, that is the job. So I get how that's kind of hard to understand.
Starting point is 00:27:35 understand, but I've also tried to explain that for years that, like, we're all like that. I may be one of the more aggressive guys on the racetrack, and I think that's where a lot of this all comes from, is that I don't get, I don't like getting pushed around. I always push back every time someone pushes me. So I think that aggressive nature is kind of shown a lot on the track. And when you don't get to explain yourself after the race very well, it looks like people can interpret it however they want, right? And so you kind of, you get kind of both sides.
Starting point is 00:28:06 Not everybody hates me. I agree. There was a lot of love. There's some love in there, too. But people are passionate and with passion. Listen, I would like to take every Alabama football fan and shake them because I, you know, market. But as individual people, I probably like most every one of them.
Starting point is 00:28:20 But the groups, we don't like each other because we almost, it's like a respect of hatred. Because we love our people and we respect how good they are. We don't want them to beat our people. So all of a sudden, we don't like that fan base. But what's great about it is passion, right? that's a build sports, is that you're passionate about your team or your driver or whoever that is. And a lot of times when you're very passionate about the person, there's a team you like, you naturally just don't like the others because they're trying to beat that person.
Starting point is 00:28:46 They're trying to take your team down. Right. You know, it's funny you say that when, so I do this show, five days a week, I have a couple TV shows, and I tour doing stand-up, but when I'm not working, I don't talk. Like, I live my life, look at me, I'm the center of attention, but then when I'm not, I'm a complete introvert. And so when you're saying that, like you're super aggressive when you're driving and you're like the nicest dude when you walk in,
Starting point is 00:29:10 there's a switch. I kind of have to flip off. You have to flip one on. I got to flip, but it's like almost two different people. Do you, when you're driving in the, are you aggressive when you're driving on, you know, Main Street? No, not as much. Maybe I used to be more than I should be. Kids changed all that for me, okay?
Starting point is 00:29:27 Like, you kind of like, all of a kid in the backseat, you know, you got to be a little smarter now. And now when someone goes flying by me down on the highway, I'm like, you know. Do you like cars outside of racing? Oh, absolutely. I am a huge car guy. Antique cars, old cars. That's my thing, more than anything.
Starting point is 00:29:42 Do you have a garage? Do you have a car problem? Oh, how many. I like shoes? He likes cars. That's his shoes. Morgan, what is your next educated question for Joy Legano? I want to go back to like the drama of it all because that's one of my favorite parts.
Starting point is 00:29:57 So obviously you're going to get into altercations. with other drivers. It's happened. Sometimes you get into physical fights with other drivers. But then you have to race alongside them for sometimes like years and years to come. So what's the process of making amends? Because NASCAR fans never forget. They never forget.
Starting point is 00:30:16 Neither are the drivers. They remember everything too. And it's going to happen, right? Because we compete against, it's the same drivers every week. It's a traveling circus, as I call it, is that you're going from racetrack to racetrack racing the same cars, same drivers, same teams. And you think about other sports football, we keep making references to football, so we'll do that.
Starting point is 00:30:36 You compete against a team, and then you may not compete against them again all year, or maybe it's three or four months before you see him again. There's time to, like, kind of let it settle. But when, like, something happens one week, and then next week, there he is again, right in front of you. You're like, oh, what am I going to do, right? Like, it hasn't died off yet. Like, it's still that feeling of anger.
Starting point is 00:30:55 It's all still there. So you react in different ways. and I did a lot of it the wrong way earlier in my career. And part of that is just coming into sports so young. I've been doing this for 15 years now, and I started when I was 18. And so just like probably everyone in this room, you did some stupid things when you're 18. Yeah, I don't know. I did it in front of everyone on TV.
Starting point is 00:31:15 And so they remember that. And that's part of the reason why they don't like me now is another piece of that. There's only a small group, but there's a very passionate group. That's right. That's right. But it's kind of how you do it, right? And you have to earn respect out there. a lot of times the best way to earn respect is by giving respect.
Starting point is 00:31:31 But you also have to stay in your ground, right? You can't get pushed around either. So there's just a balance between all that. So when I'm driving sometimes, I'll get in the car and I'll drive somewhere and I'll be like, dang, I'm already here. I guess I zoned out. You ever like daydream and zone out while you're driving? No.
Starting point is 00:31:45 No, it's different. Like, I mean, yes. When I'm driving down the road, yes. I'm like, how did I get here? I'm already at the mall? Or you take a wrong turn and you're like, oh. Or all of a sudden you wake up to you're like, why am I pouring milk on my head, is? Right.
Starting point is 00:31:57 In the race car, I mean, it's very intense, right? Because you're pushing yourself, your vehicle at the absolute limit. And if you lose focus for a second, you hit the wall, right? And then your race is over. And so your heart rate is high. It's very intense. You're focused in, like this ultra focus. And so it can't really, you can't really compare it very well to drive in a car.
Starting point is 00:32:20 Okay. Let me make this comparison because you do race a lot. So I hosted American Idol once when C C Crest was out. and I was on the show anyway and they say, hey, we need you to host because Ryan's sick. So I go up and I didn't feel like the moment was too big for me and I'd done a lot of hosting things. And as I'm doing it, we're on camera, whatever.
Starting point is 00:32:36 I find myself wondering what the score of the football game is that I'm missing because of this. Because I'm comfortable. I'm still doing a plus job, but I find myself, are you ever driving in your race and you're like, man, I wonder what's that? We're cooking for dinner tonight. Now.
Starting point is 00:32:50 Dang. Now. I mean, I don't know if every driver will answer that the same as I do. but I don't. Like I literally zone into something where it takes all my focus where I can't, I can't, maybe you're smarter than me to where you can handle more than one thing. No, but you're greater than me.
Starting point is 00:33:06 That's what it is. You're a champion. I can't do it. Morgan, next question. Okay. So rookies, they have to have like stripes on their car, right? Right, yeah. Is there any spoken or unspoken, like initiation process as a rookie?
Starting point is 00:33:22 And I know you're no longer one, obviously, but when you were a rookie, did you ever have any moments with veteran drivers where you're like, wow, they're ruthless. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I mean, so when you're a rookie in the cup series, they put a stripe on the back bumper. It's called a rookie stripe. So everybody knows this is the new guy, right?
Starting point is 00:33:40 Like this guy may not know what he's good. It's like driver's dead, the magnet on the car. That's what it is. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, be patient with me, please. It's like one of those things. And, I mean, it definitely is like a lot of the, you know, the drivers that have been around for a while,
Starting point is 00:33:56 it's almost like they set the tone pretty aggressively with that driver, right? They try to take control of like, hey, welcome to the big league moments, right? Like, here we are, you know, this is how we race. We're not standing up for this or whatever it may be. And I went through this, like, a lot. And it's funny. So I went through this a lot with Kevin Harbick earlier in my career.
Starting point is 00:34:16 And we had a couple pushing, shoving matches and back and forth on the racetrack. And it's just like a, it's really hard to deal with. And it's funny because now looking back at it, and I was talking to them last night, we were eating dinner together. And we were talking about some of the stuff. And I get it now. Like now that I've been around for a long time, I realized where I was screwing up and what I was doing wrong and how I came into the sport the wrong way. And I understand why he did what he did. But I didn't when I was 18 years old.
Starting point is 00:34:45 So it's funny that you can go through all that. And then you can have a friendship kind of away from the racetrack and talking about it, you know, Here we are 10, 12 years later after that, but kind of funny how that all works out. Are you familiar with the band ACDC? I am. Okay. They're still here, a little before my time, a little before yours, obviously. So they have a lead guitarist named Angus Young, and he goes out, and he says every night
Starting point is 00:35:07 he loses like five to six pounds because he goes so hard. Now there's a lot of intensity in what you do for hours at a time in a full body suit. Do you lose weight from the time you get in the car to the time you get out? And does it affect what you eat that day or how much you drink that day? Yes. Yes. So our race car is like we don't have air conditioning. We don't have like a lot of the creature comforts that you guys have in your car while you're driving down the road.
Starting point is 00:35:33 Because it weighs a lot. It robs horsepower from the car. So it gets really hot, right? So now our engines are running at, you know, 8700 RPM and we don't have air conditioning. So it's quite the water heater in front of us. And you can imagine that the water temps are, you know, 250, 2.000. 160 degrees like it's it's hot well all that that that temperature from the headers the engine all that stuff gets just put throughout the whole car so a good rule of thumb it's 40 degrees warmer
Starting point is 00:36:02 inside the car than the outside air temp so if it's a 90 degree day it's 130 degrees inside the car you're in there for three three and a half hours throughout a 500 mile race so yeah you're going to sweat a lot and you're working the whole time right you have to stay focus you have to do all this but we train for it right it's not like it's it's it's it's sounds like you guys are all looking at me like oh my god it sounds miserable and sometimes it is but you train for it you do it every week you hydrate you eat
Starting point is 00:36:28 correctly you do all the things just like any other athlete before they prepare for a game it's the same for us before I was prepared for a race dang that's hot but do you have like a little fan I mean he's got one on I was like low it's like they make them on Amazon you put them around your neck and it's a great idea
Starting point is 00:36:45 I do have a top of the helmet you see there is a little air duct on the top. And mine or the real one? Well, and both. But on the top and the back. They plug in and that's where you get outside air blown into your helmet so you can breathe fresh air. And it goes to like a CO filter so where you don't get sick and all that from the fumes. So that's pretty much all you got. Dang. That's hardcore. Morgan, next question. Okay. So you mentioned race preparation. A lot goes into it before you actually make it to the track. I want to know what area you think most drivers, like, they slack the most in if it's the SIM or what part they look
Starting point is 00:37:25 forward to the least? I think probably every driver finds their own way to prepare, right? Like, everybody finds their own way and what works for them. And you have to realize what your weaknesses are and what your strengths are and try to play to those. And, you know, for me, the only way I'm going to feel confident is if I do all the prep work. So it's really like a lot of film review for me, a lot of meetings with the engineers and going through a lot of to set up stuff. That's where I really feel like I can impact a team the most and where I can help myself be prepared the most when it gets to race time. But like others go to the simulator a lot. I don't believe in the sim. You don't believe in the sim? I don't. I don't go there. There's like
Starting point is 00:38:02 this racing like simulator you get in and it's like the coolest video game of all time. But it's pretty realistic, but not all the way realistic. And so you can like to me, I think I can form a lot of bad habits and steer the team down the wrong direction. And so I don't believe in it 100%. So I, I don't go there a lot. It worked for Ross Chastain this season. He did a video game move, yes. I don't know if that's correct or not, but he did it. Classic Ross, right?
Starting point is 00:38:29 Classic Ross, right? Yeah, classic Ross. But, yeah, I mean, that's just, everyone finds their way. Can you guys prepare for the show in different ways? I'm sure everybody has a different role in different jobs and do it differently. It's the same for us. So some of my athlete friends and some that I just know of in their contracts say they can't ski or they can't bungee jump because they have obligations to their sponsor or their team. Are those in your deals with them too?
Starting point is 00:41:30 Because you are an athlete for sure and you don't want to hurt yourself so you can't drive. Can you snow ski? It says in there just don't be an idiot basically. Don't go do something and get yourself hurt. you, you're out. Do you make decisions based on that, though? Like if you went to Colorado, you'd be like, I'm not going to ski. I'm probably not going to do that.
Starting point is 00:41:51 I mean, I went skiing with my son actually this week, but he's four, and we stayed on the bunny hill, and I was teaching him how to ski, and we were kind of going on the gate. But no, I didn't not go to the top and try to go down because I just know, I don't want to take that risk. Motorcycles? Would you ride a motor? I don't do my, I mean, I ride a quad a lot. Like, I've ride a lot of stuff off road, because that's, to me, that's how I grew up.
Starting point is 00:42:11 And in a way, it kind of keeps me sharp when we're not. the race car. Like, there's just, thinking about it, it's not easy to just go practice. Like, I can't pick up a ball and go shoot hoops. I can't just go get in a race car and drive it in my front yard and, right, I think that, that I'm getting somewhere with it. Like, it's not that simple or easy for us. So, video game. There's, there's that. There's also, to me, it's just driving something at its edge, whatever it is, whether it's a go car or a, oh, I love this stuff. I love driving cars. No, I would never do that. Never, ever. I don't like heights. Stay on the ground.
Starting point is 00:42:45 But I do think anytime you can push yourself to the limit inside a vehicle, I think, helps you on race day. Morgan? Okay. I'm curious about the Nashville Fairgrounds because there's going to be a vote early next year that's basically going to help determine if NASCAR is going to race there again. And you'll have not race there since the 80s. Why is this a track like Dale Jr. and other current drivers are so vocal about wanting to get back on the series? I think, you know, it's a great question.
Starting point is 00:43:11 That's how you know she's into this. She knows about the fairgrounds up to road here. And Ross. She knows that too. Yes, very educated. I would say the main reason for the fairground, I think, is it's a very historic facility. It's not far from downtown, which is really good. I think we learned that a lot this year is if we bring the races to the people, it is a whole different experience. When we raced at the L.A. Calcium, right, we're racing downtown.
Starting point is 00:43:35 The place was packed, and I think it was close to 70% of the people there were first-time racers, race fans. Like never been to the racetrack before. 70% of the people there have never been to one before. So you think about the people that we haven't really reached out to yet. So I think a lot of times bringing the racetrack to the people, the fairgrounds kind of accomplishes that. It's an old facility that has a historic vibe, right? That throwback vibe.
Starting point is 00:44:00 It's kind of cool. So I look forward to it. Hopefully we can all make it work, right? We're doing that at North Wilkesboro this year at the All-Star race. It's been shut down for years. It's been shut down for, shoot, I don't know how long, 30 years. Yeah, long time. And Dell Jr. has also been really big about that one.
Starting point is 00:44:16 Well, he's a big throwback guy, so it makes sense. But it's cool that, like, you know, Dale Jr. was our most popular driver for years. And, you know, now that he's retired and he's doing TV stuff, but he still cares so much about the sport that he's always looking for ways to, you know, keep things going along and doing different things. And he has that throwback, you know, passion that he's always pushing, which is great. Joey Lugano is here and not talking about anyone specifically or even yourself at all. But sometimes when guys will hop out of the car and they'll start swinging it, he just. other. Why would you take your helmet off when you, not you, but I, like, if you're going to fight, why take off protection in any world? I see them take their helmet off and then go to
Starting point is 00:44:51 town. Football players do it too. Like, why would you take your helmet off? Well, I mean, you kind of, well, you have to. Like, I don't know, I feel like you have to. Like that's the code of ethics? Yeah, I think like, yeah, you got to take it off. Like the Roman warriors didn't go, okay, time to battle. Pull your helmets off, guys. No, you leave it on in case. It's not about being smart in that moment. Okay, like you're already doing something stupid. You're fighting. It's already dumb in the first place. So we might also go all out and take your helmet off while you're doing it. Okay. The extra dumb. Do you feel it if you get hit or you adrenaline? What? If you get punched? Like at a race. Oh, like in the car? No, let's say you and me were running beside each other and I'm like
Starting point is 00:45:31 pull over. Is that what you do point at the side? That's it. Pull over. I put my blinker on after that. Let's say you get in a fight. Wherever you, wherever you guys fight, like on the side after the race. are you your adrenaline up so much that you don't really feel it then it's really not that many fights it doesn't happen that often it's not a hockey game and and honestly I haven't been involved in one in quite some time now because mainly my son can watch YouTube now that's good you're dad you're a dad now it lives forever that's why I don't fight hey right like um there's better ways to handle it like I said I made a lot of dumb mistakes when I was a kid so there it is if it happens anytime soon yeah or just handle it differently. I want to see you rocking in a helmet and be like, I told them. I told them.
Starting point is 00:46:13 All right, Morgan, last question. Okay, last question. I try and convert all my friends into NASCAR fans because I just feel like it's so slept on. Morgan over their nose. Oh, she's darned. What's your best elevator pitch for the people listening that have never watched a race or given NASCAR chance? I think you got to go to one to really get the full experience, right? Like just like most sports, like on TV is great, right, to watch and it has all that. But when you go to a race in person and you feel all the cars come by the first time, right? You have 40 cars going, you know, 150 to 200 miles an hour by you. That feeling, you can't replicate it anywhere. Like there's no like, think about like if you've ever been sitting on the side of the road when you have a flat tire or something like that while you're waiting for AAA.
Starting point is 00:47:00 And you see all the cars going by. go at 70 miles an hour and they look like they're hauling the mail right like they look like they're going fast at 70 well like triple that you know what i mean like or more than double at least how much faster we're going and they're allowed and they're bumping and banging and doing it it's awesome like i fell in love with this when i was a kid when i was six or seven years old and and i haven't changed a bit since then like i'm always going to be a race fan first um but like the feeling of the adrenaline all that stuff going is cool and then as you start to learn to detail the technical side of the sport, the strategy side of the sport. It just keeps getting deeper, just like every other sport,
Starting point is 00:47:35 right? Like, there's a casual way of watching it, and then you can just fully immerse yourself into all the details. What are you involved in, Joey, that brings purpose to why you race cars, meaning you get to do this, you get a platform. So with that platform, you like to do blank. Yeah, that's a great question. And that's what I say, what's the why? Like, why do you do this? And, you know, my wife said it best to me one time. Once we were married a few years ago, she just been, oh, that's almost eight, eight years ago. Don't say it wrong. This isn't live right now.
Starting point is 00:48:07 And she said to me, she goes, when you're on your deathbed, do you want people or trophies? And that was kind of like the eye-opening experience for me. And I said I want both. And I think I could do that because I think you could take a trophy and do something with it, right? Like, no one's going to remember we won the championship this year 15 years from now. No one's going to care. No one's going to know. It's just going to be a stat in a history book that someone's going to look at and it's going to move on.
Starting point is 00:48:28 But if you take the platform that God's given me here to do something that impacts people for a long period of time, that's something that lasts for generations. And that's why we started at Joey Lugano Foundation. We give second chances of children and young adults in times of crisis, a lot of foster kids, foster families, kids that just haven't been dealt maybe the best of hands. And they just need some loving, right? They just need somebody to support them, help them, you know, become a contributing member of society. And we work with a lot of organizations that do that. And basically, we use our race fans, our platform and all that to pour a little bit of fuel on the sparks that these other organizations are doing, right?
Starting point is 00:49:08 We're trying to bring some light to what they're doing. And that's the why. That's the whole reason why we really do what we do. If not, these trophies, they're empty cups. Like, it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. So that's the main reason here. My last, not even a real question, but you have a ring on that is a monster. What is that?
Starting point is 00:49:26 That's the championship ring from this year. So they gave this to me. Is that the real one? That's the one right there. It's a little big and gaudy. It's a little flashier than I typically am. This is a pretty flashy thing to do. What is it?
Starting point is 00:49:40 I felt like we're here for the banquet. It's probably like the only time that I can wear it without like feeling like I'm a, it's a bell buckle, you know? It's a bell buckle. It's a bell buckle. We headlined the, in Wyoming Yeah, it's
Starting point is 00:49:54 Freedom Frontier Day It's a big deal So Eddie We headlined that show And they gave us These big belt buckles In it
Starting point is 00:50:00 It's not as big as ring It's not as big as that ring It's heavy It's a little much But hey you know what If we won the whole thing I might as well I agree
Starting point is 00:50:11 I agree Right Well I'm gonna say this You are my favorite Driver Am I the only one You ever met though? No
Starting point is 00:50:17 No? All right No not at all I We've met a few Tony Stewart likes her feet. It was weird. Do you know him?
Starting point is 00:50:23 Do you know Tony? I know Tony. Did you know he's maybe, maybe has a foot fetish? I did not know this. Yeah, he was talking to her about her feet. Yeah, he kept staring at him. Like on the air or like afterwards? No, no, we were at a,
Starting point is 00:50:34 creepy conversation about your feet. Race and maybe interviewing him for something and he kept looking at them. And then, I don't know. Like he walked away. So we don't have to spend a lot of time on this. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I feel like I got to know more about it, though. Okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:50:46 He just said, he said, you have nice feet. Nice favorite driver. Morgan, who did I just do the TV show with? Kyle Busch. Oh. You know what? That guy. You know, here's the thing.
Starting point is 00:51:00 I'll be honest with you, Joey. I get on this, and I'm not supposed to say what show it was yet, but we did a show together. And I didn't know who he was. And I thought they brought on, like, a fan to, like, be a part. That would over well. And I was just confused. And I said, because his house was in the background, and I said, dang, whatever you do. must pay well. I didn't know it was. And I think
Starting point is 00:51:23 he thought I was kidding, but I wasn't because I didn't know who he was. And then later I realized he was a driver. And I said, oh, this is Kyle Bush. And I remember somebody was like, oh, yeah, that's Kyle Bush. And what's he known for? Because the reaction wasn't positive when I said that to who I was with. They were like, oh, yeah, that's Kyle Bush. He's a love him or hate him type of person.
Starting point is 00:51:43 He's a big personality. He's a big personality. He's very emotional and really speaks his mind a lot. And he's character. He's a character in our sport for sure He's a very talented race car driver He's one of the best on the racetrack I ended up liking him just fine I just didn't know who he was at first
Starting point is 00:52:03 And I thought he thought I was joking But I wasn't I don't know I just thought I was a dude who I was team to I didn't, it was a whole thing But in the end look at us You're my favorite I met him I met Bush I met Denny Hamlin
Starting point is 00:52:14 You met Hamlin And you know this guy Ross now Ross Justane Bro Marmilla man Yeah Joey, you're awesome, man. You know, sometimes I'm a little hesitant
Starting point is 00:52:25 or a little apprehensive, but yeah, you're the guy. You're my guy. All right, well, thank you. I gave you at home, I kind of bought your love, but that's okay. You know, it actually put you a quarter step back because I was like, he's trying to buy my love. Oh, but then... Now, I should have gave it to you afterwards. No, no, it's still good. I like it. I like it.
Starting point is 00:52:42 I like it. Okay, listen, you guys follow Joey at Joey Legano. That's my new favorite driver. I'm going to be watching. Thank you. You get on the track. do you shift your gears, win some stuff. That's what we do? That's it, right? So what do we look for to make sure it's your car?
Starting point is 00:52:55 Number 22. That's it. It's bright, shell, penzoil, bright, yellow and red car. You can't miss it. It's the one that stands out the most. Yeah, he's the guy. I like that. He's a guy winning.
Starting point is 00:53:06 Okay, but once they start going in circles, you can't tell. Well, they don't show the people in the back. I mean, you'll see it's a yellow one. It stands out. It's one of the only yellow cars out there. Okay, got you. Yeah. Big fan here.
Starting point is 00:53:17 Thank you. Here he is. Our friend. Joey Ligano. All right, guys. Thank you. It's time for the good news. With Amy.
Starting point is 00:53:24 Tell me something good. Lauren Summi just turned 105 years old. She lives at an assisted living home in Cherryville, North Carolina. And the people that work there, they treated her to a big old party because 105 years on this earth. And she'd never had a big party before. Wait, what? And I'm ones like, oh, poor me, I never had a party.
Starting point is 00:53:49 birthday party. She's 105 and never had one? Yeah. So one of the staff members... At 100? They didn't give her a party? That's crazy. At 100. If I don't know somebody and I know they're 100, I give them a party. That's epic. Okay. So special shout out to Jody Langford, who works there and she put on social media and asked others in the community to, you know, help celebrate Lauren. And 1,200 birthday cards arrived from people all over the country. And then they had a big party. There was square dancing, line dancing, and miniseries. And your pony named Daniel Jackson. All those cards, though, is too much.
Starting point is 00:54:23 But it's thoughtful. It is, but it's like, what are you going to open all of them? She can die for you and get to all thousands of them. No, but just seeing the stack. Yes, it is great. I love to see that. I love to see people do it. But there's got to be a way, like that's a go fund meet.
Starting point is 00:54:35 Everybody put it in a dollar that's going to buy. I don't know. I like it. I love the effort. I think we could channel it a little differently. Like everybody sign something online, write a nice message, then donate to like her favorite thing or something. But she's 105.
Starting point is 00:54:46 That's awesome. I would love to be 105. As long as you're still... Exactly. You've got to be fully... I'd rather be half and alive at 105. Really? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:55 Even if I had to change you? Yes. Have you? You've had to at 33. You've changed an old person before? Not in the last week or so. But it's okay, Amy. He'd be the one getting changed.
Starting point is 00:55:05 He's cool with that. He gives a crap. Me, and then they change it. There you go. That's a great story. I love the people stood up and sent a card. That's really sweet. And shout out to all caregivers out there because you are the heroes.
Starting point is 00:55:16 Great and small. Caregivers great and small. Good tidings to you all. All right, that's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. Here's a voicemail from Forrest in Harrisburg, PA. Morning Studio! I wanted to know if you guys agree with me,
Starting point is 00:55:31 but at the end of the song, that one where half of me wants a beer and the other half wants two, at the very end, the talking, that sounds like the nasely, Hispanic voice of Eddie. Just wanted if any of you think the same thing. Let me know.
Starting point is 00:55:47 I'll be listening. All right, Forrest, appreciate that. He is talking about the song from Thomas Wrett and Riley Green called Half of Me. Here's a hook of the song so you know the song. Half of me wants to cool me. And at the end, they're talking, and let's see if we hear Eddie. That sounds good because I can't tell if you're in it or not. Yeah, that sounds nothing like Eddie.
Starting point is 00:56:12 My nasally Hispanic voice? Is that? A little too masculine. It's Riley Green. That's funny, though. That is funny. All right, thank you for that. Maybe other listeners have wondered that.
Starting point is 00:56:21 Wow, man. They also think I'm the Home Depot guy. What do you mean? More deep, what is it saying more doing? I've never, ever, ever thought that. People DM me on the time. Are you the voice in the Home Depot commercials? Yes.
Starting point is 00:56:32 So have you wondered if you wanted planks for your wood floor? That's it. They think that's you? Yeah, maybe that's another nasally Hispanic. No, no way to whatsoever does that sound like you. That's what people say. That's like lunchbox thinking people think he Tom Brady. People message me this though.
Starting point is 00:56:44 I've never thought this. Okay, you guys are out of your skulls this morning. Okay, let's go and bring it in the morning corny. The morning corny. What are the best Christmas sweaters made from? What are the best Christmas sweaters made from? Fleece Navidad. I love it.
Starting point is 00:57:01 Fleece Navidaz. You have to bring a guitar because every year you play Felice Navidon guitar. I have been doing that, haven't I? It's an accidental tradition, but we've got to get it again. Let's go. I'll find some tamales too. We'll celebrate. I love tamales on Christmas.
Starting point is 00:57:15 That's what we do. I don't understand that. That's our... Texas thing. Tradition. Let me check in here as a generic white male, not from Texas who doesn't know. Hispanic tradition. Why? That's just what mom cooks. You know, the family gets together. They make tamales and that's what we eat during Christmas. Because Mike D, who's also Hispanic, said that they
Starting point is 00:57:34 made tamales during Thanksgiving. So is it every holiday you guys make tamales? That's fun. It's awesome. I don't know what the... Can you make it on non-holidays? Is it like cranberry sauce where you really only have it on Thanksgiving? Usually what happens if you don't make them, you order them from a special place or whatever, but you order so much that you have them all the way till March. You freeze them. Yeah. That's exactly right. That's a great tradition. I've ever heard. It's cool, man. Of all of them.
Starting point is 00:57:57 A couple things I want to introduce. First of all, this wheel, on this wheel, there are a lot of slow, sad country songs. Now, you may ask, why is that on the wheel? Play the voicemail from the listener, Ray. I just wanted to suggest maybe doing sad country songs for flying karaoke.
Starting point is 00:58:13 Think it would be hilarious. Let me know what y'all think. The second thing I want to introduce is, I mean, platinum superstar. Jordan Davis is here to judge. Yeah. Wow. Look at that.
Starting point is 00:58:23 This is the fact of the time. By dirt, greatest song of all time. That's facts. But you don't get at least the last year. He's bribing. Yeah, that's a good one. What about, they ever singles you up
Starting point is 00:58:34 if he's ever stupid enough? My dirt's better. Oh, okay. I just did a thing where, you know, they asked me what my breakout moment was when Bobby Bone Show played singles you up. Really? And it like blew up my social media.
Starting point is 00:58:49 Is that a real story? Social media. If someone asked me to anybody lately, who's my favorite artist interview and I said Jordan Davis. That's a lot. That's cool. That's a lot. I prove it's a lie. I can't prove yours. It's truth either. No, it's coming out. It's going to be in... Mine's coming out too. Watch for it.
Starting point is 00:59:01 It's going to be in variety. Yeah. Yeah, it's in Vogue or whatever. So, yeah. He's making crap up too. So Mike D, myself, and Jordan Davis will be the judges. Jordan, you have your phone on you over there? I do. Okay, so just text Mike your score.
Starting point is 00:59:14 Oh, wow. Scuba's out? He's not judge anymore? Not today because celebrity judges here. That's fine, yeah. Scoba's sad. That's fine. Whatever. Wait, I'm texting Mike D. a store? Your score. Okay.
Starting point is 00:59:25 But no one's saying yet, buddy. I know. I'm just pulling his number up. Oh, okay. He's like, I don't have it. He's like, I don't know what to put him. I don't know. He's not saying. It's awkward. Okay. Up first, we rolled the dice. Up first, singing blind karaoke, meaning she'll land on a song on the wheel and have to perform it whatever it is with no words in front of her.
Starting point is 00:59:43 Which means she has to guess words. She has to guess everything unless she knows it. It's Morgan number two. Wow. Morgan, you go to the stage and we'll spin the wheel. On the wheel are songs like whiskey lullaby, drink a beer. Some of these songs I've never heard of. The dance.
Starting point is 00:59:58 I mean, hurt. That's gonna be tough. Is that Johnny Cash? Johnny Cash. All right, here we go. Let's spin that wheel. Oh, give her hurt. Please don't.
Starting point is 01:00:11 Give her hurt. I don't even know. Oregon, you will do, he stopped loving her today. George Jones. Oh, the saddest song of all times. He stopped loving her today. I don't think I know anything. He stopped loving hard today.
Starting point is 01:00:26 So, and Jordan, here's the thing, they usually don't know all the words. Sometimes they know none. So you can base your criteria on anything. It can be words known. It can be passion. How good they sing. All that together. I mean, not knowing the words of this song is, that's bad.
Starting point is 01:00:41 She's also like 12. That's true. That is true. And she's also not a country artist. I don't know. But this is some say the best country song of all time. I think I only know it because Bobby sings it sometimes. Every day about my wife.
Starting point is 01:00:53 I'm like, I messed up last night. She stopped loving me. today. Oh, man. Morgan, good luck. I feel bad for her. This is going to be really hard. I can already tell, too, that Jordan's going to be a tough judge.
Starting point is 01:01:03 Yeah. Well, when you have an expert and a CMA, you better come in here. I love Bobby's introductions. Uh-huh. Ready, Ray. Can you help me come in? Love her today. It's a beautiful day.
Starting point is 01:01:20 And Bobby really loves his wife, Caitlin, and he sings the song to her every single day. Because he wants to make sure he never forgets her. And this is an important moment in their relationship because he can never stop loving her. And he prays every morning day. It's still. Oh, my. I have to stop together.
Starting point is 01:01:44 I'm crazy. I don't know this song at all. And I just say, I'm safe. I'm going to make a lot. Yeah, guys, I don't know. We're good. Maybe she was doing spoken words. Yeah, I was trying spoken word.
Starting point is 01:01:55 But also, he died. Yeah. That's why he stopped loving. Your new song is? I got nothing, guys. Blame me, that's a great time. Oh, that's a jam.
Starting point is 01:02:05 Okay, Morgan, she's out of here, everybody. Good job, Morgan. Take your scores in there. This should be easy, guys. Don't even worry about it. Don't even worry about scoring. Let's just move on.
Starting point is 01:02:15 That's a tough one. Hey, bad luck of the draw. And also, she didn't really try. I mean, why could I be in at a time when that happens? Then I wouldn't lose. Exactly. Well, you'll be back in,
Starting point is 01:02:25 I thought it started out strong. I thought like maybe she was just waiting for the chorus doing a spoken word thing. Yeah, but you know, the chorus never came. And she never went there. But you make the chorus come. Do you like watch. She started singing something. I don't.
Starting point is 01:02:35 The only chorus I knew is he stopped loving her today. Like you should have just started with that. Hey, Jordan, I saw your score. You gave her 1.7. I did. We don't really do points, but okay. Okay, okay. I'll run up to her two.
Starting point is 01:02:46 Jordan gave her 1.7 and a banana. And also an orange and a smiley face. So he's doing a whole system I'm not sure with. Yeah, you got it. I'll take the sympathy. You have to decode it. Okay, I'll go two. I'll round up to two.
Starting point is 01:02:59 Okay, thank you. We won't tell your score every time. It's supposed to be anonymous, but... But that's too funny. When I saw 1.7, I was like, okay, next up, as we rolled the dice, Eddie, you're up.
Starting point is 01:03:09 Let's go. Let's go. Blind karaoke, Eddie to the stage. Bring it home, Eddie. I like Eddie. I don't even bring his headphones. Is there Eddie a song on this wheel that you'd like?
Starting point is 01:03:19 Absolutely. Because there's a lot of good ones on here. Burning House. That's Cam. Don't take the girl. Yeah, I mean, Tim McGreg. You can't go wrong with that. Drink a beer?
Starting point is 01:03:27 Yeah, I want to sit right here. All right. But I want hurt. You do? By Johnny Cash. Oh. Oh my God. I hurt myself today.
Starting point is 01:03:37 Come on. That's all right. That's plus two right there. That's what I'm saying. Here we go. Well, he doesn't even have that song yet. Let's spin my wheel. I couldn't see what that was.
Starting point is 01:03:45 Anything but hurt. I hurt myself. Come on, come on. Eddie, you'll be doing. Don't take the girl. Tim McGraw. Okay. Johnny's daddy.
Starting point is 01:03:54 Wow. Let's go. Wow. For our listeners, and maybe aren't familiar. Take Jimmy Johnson. Take Tommy Thompson. Yeah, dude.
Starting point is 01:04:03 Feel good about it? Take my best friend, bow. Higher standards, too. Jordan, I'll judge him hard on this one. Okay, yeah. He's tired up about it, too. He gets very cocky. Jordan, you know what you're going to like here.
Starting point is 01:04:13 Bring the heat, dude. Why are you doing your hips at Jordan? No, no. Why are you probably thrust into him? He's getting to live. But he's getting the Tim McGrawlough. What does Tim McGrath do? He emits sex.
Starting point is 01:04:24 What? Is that what you were trying to do? So now I am doing that. Feel free to do that. Guys, that's fast. Should I take my shirt off? Jordan, please. Jordan Davis is here to judge. Here's Eddie. We all just vomited. Eddie, Eddie, focus up. I want to see some, I want to see some passion here. Don't take the girl. Let's go.
Starting point is 01:04:41 Faith, this is for you. I can't even look at him. I can't. John's daddy was taking and fishing when he was a years old. They were walking down the street and he had a fishing pole.
Starting point is 01:05:08 Then the corner of his eyes he sees a girl with another fishing pole and he said, Daddy, you know I can't fish with another girl.
Starting point is 01:05:26 So Johnny said, Take Jimmy Johnson. Take Tommy Thompson. Take my best friend, bow. Take any phone that ain't before me. And hold my fishing pole. God day take anyone in the world. Don't take the girl.
Starting point is 01:05:55 Yeah. Okay, okay. Wow. He said he was going to nail it, guys. I'm sure you hit it every word, but... Was that sexy? It was. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 01:06:05 It was. I'm not going to stand up right now. Okay. So, guys, write your scores down. Eddie, where did you feel about that? Kind of messed up the chorus there a little bit. So I would deduct maybe one point for that. No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:06:18 A little bit. There was four fishing poles in there. Was one of them a fishing hole? No. I think there's only one, I think there's only one fishing pole. But there's a couple, that, chorus is pretty iconic. Is it?
Starting point is 01:06:32 Yeah, it's tough. I can't, I can't be in too much. But I got Tommy Thompson, Johnny Johnson. Yeah. And Bo. We got part of the chorus, though, too. I like what you did, though. I had to do a little run.
Starting point is 01:06:44 I got to say, the passion was good, though. Thank you, man. I like the. Mike, you're in? Okay. Eddie, you can go sit down. Oh, you're going to sit down? Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:52 Okay. There's Eddie sitting down. Good job, Eddie, though. Now, we have two people left. We have Abby. and our returning champion lunchbox. The champ is here. What did you win on?
Starting point is 01:07:06 I don't remember. But he nailed it. I crushed it. Whatever was. We're going to come back right after this. More Blind Karaoke. Then Eddie. Yeah. Came on. You did Tim McGraw, don't take the girl. That's right. And we'll go over your scores in a minute. You felt pretty good, though.
Starting point is 01:09:59 Oh, I did sexy Tim. I mean. I don't know that that's true. Yeah, I did. You may attempt it too. I think it was an attempt, but it was there. Jordan Davis, Mr. Bydirt, Mr. CMA, Mr. A lot of his hormones are working pretty good.
Starting point is 01:10:13 Look at his beard. Do you dye your beard at all? Yeah. There's the little patches maybe. I'm starting to go gray. Yeah. So I got to get it. I agree in that.
Starting point is 01:10:25 until it gets like all, like strongly gray, you just don't want patches. If I just have like one, there's one little patch over here that used to be red, now it's gray. Same up here on the top. You can't just have one patch. You dye your hair? Oh, boy. I don't want to say. Wow.
Starting point is 01:10:40 That's your story. Wow. I don't want to come on on radio and say it down my hair, but there's a few touch-ups. We like that. Jordan Davis is here. I bring honesty here, folks. I love that. Abby.
Starting point is 01:10:52 Own it. Yes. How are you feeling? Very intimidated. What song would you put? prefer. Oh, what hurts the most or Miranda. And why are you intimidated because you're sitting next to Mr. CMA? Mr. Bluebird Days coming out next year. The date of that album is my favorite day in the whole world.
Starting point is 01:11:05 What's that album date? February 17. There it is. There it is. Andy's judging really hardcore today. Yeah. I even went points. He did. He went one point. I'm Morgan, which I was told I can't do.
Starting point is 01:11:16 All right. I was tough on you too, Eddie, but I love you. Thank you, man. Abby, we're going to spin it. You're going to sing it. Let's spin that wheel. Now, Abby has no words in front of her. She has to go, and she gets Miranda Lambert at the house that built me. Damn.
Starting point is 01:11:33 Oh, I got lucky. I love this. But you got, yes. Beautiful lyric. If you know it, great. If you don't, just act like you do. Thought if I could touch this place, so feeling. Now, here's Abby singing the house that built me.
Starting point is 01:11:46 I'm going to make sure I come in at the right time. So they say, you can't go home again. I just had to come back one last time. Ma'am, I know you don't know me from Adam, but these handprints on the front steps are mine, up those stairs through that little back bedroom, is where I did my homework and I learned to play guitar. And I bet you didn't know under that live oak,
Starting point is 01:12:48 my favorite dog, It's buried in the yard. I could touch this place, so I'll feel it. It's broken there since I might start healing. Out here is like I'm someone else. Thought me. I could just come in, I swear I'll leave. Won't take nothing but a memo from the house that built me.
Starting point is 01:13:28 She is, Abby. She's got the words for sure. You got the words. I was a little nervous. You can tell. The category is sad country songs. Jordan has his fist in the air. That was fantastic.
Starting point is 01:13:39 Well, thank you. Save it, Jordan. Save it, dude. Put it in the score, buddy. Hey, I mean, she's not going to sound like Miranda lunch. Exactly. Exactly. Jordan just scored her a hang loose emoji.
Starting point is 01:13:50 What do you mean, go for it? Lunchbox is like she didn't even go for it. He just heard that an idol. Like he says it. Those are words they're saying. I mean, right when Miranda started and the chorus came in. I thought that was you. You thought that was me.
Starting point is 01:14:02 I thought that was me. I thought Amy was jumping in. I thought of five. I was like, wow. Okay, well, either way, she matched up with her, like, so perfectly. I thought that was fantastic. Yeah. Nobody's ever been that spot on.
Starting point is 01:14:13 Okay, Abby, great job. You did not hear her. She was not. One thing, a little more passion, a little more go for. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. That's a good point, Jordan. That's a great point. Abby, Jordan Davis said she should have gone for it.
Starting point is 01:14:25 But other than, I agree with that. I just said that. I'm okay when he's good. You guys, I'm like I was great. That's so good, Jordan. That's a good point. That's what you got you're an expert. I know.
Starting point is 01:14:32 I just said that. Did you guys not hear me say it? John Jordan. Thank you for your expertise, buddy, in your insight. Lunch, when I have great points, don't try to jump on this game. Oh my goodness. Mr. J.D. Jordan Davis, CMA, J.D. Jeez.
Starting point is 01:14:44 All right, Abby, thank you. Yeah, thanks. Let's go. All right, up next, here he is. Our returning champion. The champ is back! And a controversial win, here he is. How are you doing, buddy?
Starting point is 01:14:57 Feel good? I feel real good. You always have on the big pants. You always have on the big pants. This is where every day. what you wear every day. Hey, you wonder how much I got these for? 12 bucks. In what year? Probably 2004.
Starting point is 01:15:10 There you go. That's a deal, baby. I do like how he's already standing up. Let's go. He's got a little passion. I don't understand it. It's a sad country song, man. Okay, he's sad and staying. Listen, I'll be honest, I don't know any of those. You don't know a single song on there? Nope. You don't know the dance.
Starting point is 01:15:24 I know that I couldn't have missed the pain. Yeah. But I would have had to miss the dance. What hurts the most? You know, I'm still a little hurt from whatever. No, I don't know who. Lunch bash. He did buy dirt. No, I said it was the greatest song ever.
Starting point is 01:15:36 No, you didn't. I don't know who, what hurts the most. You said it's all. I think Rascal Flats maybe. Okay, here we go. Let's spin the wheel. Let's spin the wheel! Let's go!
Starting point is 01:15:46 The final performer. The champ! Lunchbox, you will do drink a beer. Oh, drink a beer. I've done that before. You have? You have? Chris Stapleton.
Starting point is 01:15:54 Yeah. Oh, Luke Bryan sings this, okay. Chris Staplein's background vocals and wrote it. Oh, he did? Mm-hmm. Okay. Do you want to hear a little sample? Yeah, I do.
Starting point is 01:16:01 So I'm gonna Set right here On the edge of this pier That's stable in the background Okay Watch the sunset It's legit All right you ready
Starting point is 01:16:12 Yeah man Ladies and gentlemen Our returning champion Blind karaoke No words are in front of him He's just got to go With his heart and his gut And what he remembers
Starting point is 01:16:20 Here is Lunchbox everyone Let's go It's going out to all the dead people Wait no wait what Yeah That's what this is for All dead people man
Starting point is 01:16:30 Wow Got to say It's a sad day Because you passed away We had so many plans To go out and party And make memories But now you're gone
Starting point is 01:16:47 My heart is breaking And I'm crying some tears But that's okay Because I'm gonna sit right here On this pier And drink a beer a beer because you're now dead
Starting point is 01:17:05 and it's sad but it's alright I always have those memories up here in my head you know like when we sat right here on this beer
Starting point is 01:17:17 and we drank that beer oh it's so it's so hard it's so hard it's so awkward
Starting point is 01:17:29 and it's sad He's got a coffee game. It's so hard. This log has been disgusting. You're gone, but that's okay, because I'm going to see him. This is crying solo. That's how you do it, folks. Passion.
Starting point is 01:17:56 New every word. Okay. Yeah, you guys thought I was really crying. No, man. You went for it. He's crying again. 10 out of 10 if I ever seen him. He's got a cough and he starts acting like he's crying when he starts coughing.
Starting point is 01:18:10 Man, the emotions come out when you see a song like that. He's had a cough for like a month and a half. those that won't leave him. Yeah. Hang off. Okay. Lunch. I mean, that was, that was fantastic.
Starting point is 01:18:20 Thank you, man. That's how I won last time. That's how you bring it. You can go sit down, buddy. That's how you go for it. Yeah, that's it. That's what you wanted Abby to do. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 01:18:30 Go for, okay. Jordan, if you'll text Mike, your score. Mike, if you'll put your score down. That should be easy, Jordan. Got my score. Yeah, that was a... Run away with her. I got to say, I didn't know the verse on that either.
Starting point is 01:18:41 That's one that I don't... I don't know the verse on drink of beer, but chorus I was pretty versed on. Well, we had four people, Morgan, Eddie, Abby, and Lunchbox is the defending champion. Yeah, yeah. And he's saying verse and course don't know the difference. The course is what's repeated in the song. Yeah, but you did say the course. You sang the course and ended it when the course was supposed to start.
Starting point is 01:19:02 Oh, really? Yeah, he doesn't hear any music in his ears. I don't hear that. I don't hear the music. We could have given him kid toy headphones with no music and he would have sang the same thing. He would have said the exact same thing. In last place. Oh, there's no doubt.
Starting point is 01:19:14 With a combined score of three. Dang, that's rough. With three judges. That's Morgan. Wow. I'm going to take that out on the oldest. It's like you got one point for just writing your name down. I mean, yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:27 That was kind of where I was going on. I did some spoken word. You did. And it is weird. Okay. Wow. The next person who didn't win. With 15 combined, excuse me.
Starting point is 01:19:40 Well, that's a lot of points. No, no. 22 combined points. Wow, Eddie. And didn't win. Wow, that's lunchbox. No way. Eddie.
Starting point is 01:19:49 Yeah. Win the second. You're out of your 22. That ain't good enough for Eddie. That's good, though. That's a good, that's a good score. I think so. You guys just don't like Tim McGraw.
Starting point is 01:19:59 I get it. All right. That means it's either Abby or our defending champion lunchbox. Oh, back to back. No, we know who it is. What do you mean? You know who it is. Who, nasal?
Starting point is 01:20:08 Abby nailed it. So rude. You're so rude. Abby's here at Bob Ballin. The winner has 27 points. Wow. See how mean he is to me? That's what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 01:20:20 It can't be much. When an artist loses it on stage, you feel that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You started coughing and then he covered up a crime. Before we announced the winner, Jordan, thank you very much. Thank you. Jordan Davis, our celebrity judge, Mike D, great job. About to figure out of where I'm ever going to listen to Buy Dirt again.
Starting point is 01:20:40 He's probably good on that one. Okay. song. Bluebird cafe. No, no, it's the money isn't real. That's like that song, stupid. Which, that went into my score. Oh, that's just money isn't real. That's right.
Starting point is 01:20:51 Yeah. The winner is, 27 points? Abby. Yeah. Lunchbox, uh, total. You only got 12 points. But I... Twelve!
Starting point is 01:21:03 Yeah. You actually finished next to last. What? He wanted to draw it out a little bit. Yeah, I just wanted you to feel like you're in it, you know? You had a lot of passion, though. I don't realize it did that bad. Are you guys?
Starting point is 01:21:13 Follow Jordan on a social. What was it, Jordan? Kate, Jordan W. Davis, something? No one cares. It's Jordan Davis official. It's officially me. Hey, does Jordan want to do one? I don't want to put him on the spot because he messes it up.
Starting point is 01:21:29 If he weren't an artist, I would be like, do it. But if he gets up and tries to sing what hurts the most and crush it but messes up for worse, they'll kill him on the internet. Okay. It's not worth it. No, it's worth it. You know why? Because he said it's the greatest country song of all time.
Starting point is 01:21:41 No, he said that was about George Jones. He stopped. loving her today. Let's hear it. Let's hear that one. I want to play a new one. It's called Money Isn't Real. Okay. Just for you. I'm just saying. Just for you. Abby, good job. We'll be back in a minute. Now, let's do the news.
Starting point is 01:22:00 Bobby's Big. Stories. Children who spend just two hours in front of the TV per day are more likely to be addicted to gambling, cigarettes, cannabis, and alcohol when they grow up. Oh, man. But what's TV now? That could be any screen. Yeah. Anything. Because I don't even watch TV that much, but I watch screens.
Starting point is 01:22:20 But if they do, I mean, that's it. That's everything. Yeah. I feel like I'm in trouble with my kids. What do they like to watch? Do they like to watch the same show at all? No, not at all. Because he's a young boy.
Starting point is 01:22:33 Yes. And she's an older girl, 15, 16, 15? Yeah. She likes things like stranger things and even the newest show, like Wednesday, all that kind of stuff. and he likes, you know, Diary of the Wompe Kid. So they took a thousand kids and they had them watch a bunch of TV
Starting point is 01:22:51 and then they checked back in and the ones they couldn't find they said those are the ones. They were in the casino? Yeah, they were smoking cigarettes out in front. Dogs prefer electric cars to diesel vehicles. Researchers took 20 dogs on journeys in electric and diesel vehicles.
Starting point is 01:23:08 They were more restless in the gas mobiles breaking their lying position more often. Their heart rates were, a lot higher while riding in a car in a gasmobile than in an electric car. So I don't know the reason they would do that. What a weird study. My dog, when I'm walking at her in a big truck comes by, she tries to attack the truck. So I guess the muffler, the big sound.
Starting point is 01:23:29 Yeah, but I don't know what they're trying to prove here. Maybe they're going to market electric cars toward people with animals now. If they can prove this, it's like, hey, you want to. If you love your animals, they're always with you, an electric car will actually be easier on the animal. People will do anything for their animal. Sure. And one of them. that is from the Daily Mail.
Starting point is 01:23:44 The most popular slang words of 2022, ghosted and salty make the top of the list. Now, they weren't invented, and these words have been around for a long time. But I guess they were the most popular. 94% of the respondents of this use slang, and a lot of them, especially if you were under 45,
Starting point is 01:24:01 use it ghosted and salty. I would say I use ghosted a decent amount. Salty occasionally. Bay was named the most annoying slang word of 2020. Oh, man. Now, that's what we call Ray's wife because Ray and Bay, but that's just because it rhymes. Right. And Bay used to be a cool word for before all else.
Starting point is 01:24:20 Is that what it stood for? Yeah. Right? Yeah, this person becomes, is before anything else. Before anything else? Well, whatever, however you want to say. Yeah, I don't know, man. That's from USA Today.
Starting point is 01:24:31 Who knows? Eddie's was like groovy. No, no, far out. Cool. Yeah. Cool is lasted through generations. Oh, I mean, forever. It's the ultimate word.
Starting point is 01:24:41 Yeah, cool. Cool was cool in the 50s and cool is cool now. Yeah. I was watching a black and white movie and they said cool in there. I'm like, that's crazy. Okay, but stop acting like when we say you're old and you're like, I can't believe you think I'm old and you're like, man, I was up all night.
Starting point is 01:24:52 Last night watching Turner Home Classics. I'm not old. You like to watch the movies from your childhood. They make you feel comfortable. Seattle is the most expensive city for food delivery. While Lubbock is the least expensive. But no matter where you are, what service you use, you're paying about 50% more to a delivery app
Starting point is 01:25:07 than if you're ordering directly from the restaurant. Wow. Thanks to fees, surcharges and tips. and then you imagine that versus what you'd go to the grocery store and get. Yeah. It's just so easy. They have made things so easy to buy. That Apple, like, poop-boop, double-click.
Starting point is 01:25:20 Apple Pay. Gosh. I get you buy anything. It's just like, you know, oh, Apple Bay? Okay, did it. Easy as pie. It's too easy. It is too easy.
Starting point is 01:25:31 Why experts say you should buy yourself a holiday gift, which, by the way, do you guys plan on getting yourself something for the holidays? No. Maybe. No, I'm waiting for an angel. Stop. If you buy something for yourself special during the holiday season, about 60% of Americans do that, down a little this year, but they say you should because one, it's a reward for your hard work if you felt like you've done a good job.
Starting point is 01:25:52 It helps refresh and recharge, especially if you get yourself like something that is like a workout piece of equipment or a trip, like something that's going to make you feel better. But be aware of ongoing expenses and scams. Anything that you buy that is something to pay every month. Oh, subscription. Yes. And not a scam, but I have a pellet. Peloton. That dang thing comes on my, like, in my email, because I pay it through Apple. Everything's Apple.
Starting point is 01:26:16 And it's like, you got to pay, and I don't run my Peloton, my bike much anymore right now. And I'm like, I'm still paying for this. You can cancel your monthly. I know, but then as soon as I don't be like, I want to go ride the bike. You got to start it up again. I think Caitlin's still ride at some. If you want to be more productive at work, go out to lunch on your lunch break every day. Even if you bring a lunch and you go sit in your car, it's still better than staying at your desk.
Starting point is 01:26:37 Study show the workers who go out for their lunch break, not out to eat, but just if you just get out of the office, they're twice as productive as those who stay in it that spot the whole time. Research shows that to work at peak efficiency, the brain needs time to recharge the end of the day and just get out of the place where it's been working. So that's why I let you guys twice a day for 30 seconds go to the bathroom.
Starting point is 01:26:56 Thank you so much for that, man. We appreciate that. Peak performance here. That's from women's world. This guy was convinced he was living in his own version of the Truman Show. One of the greatest movies ever. Just top three movie for me of all time. The Truman Show is where Jim Kim,
Starting point is 01:27:10 He doesn't know he's part of a show. The cameras around him. Everybody's put in his life. It's all a show. He's in a bubble? He doesn't know it. A big, big one. Yeah, like a dome.
Starting point is 01:27:20 Never seen it. You've never seen the Truman Show? No. It changed my life. I've never seen it either. I'm not sure I'm not in one. Like right now? You never know. He didn't know.
Starting point is 01:27:28 He didn't know cameras and the people were all set up actors. He was living his life, but they were just watching him. A man who thought he was living in it. Explain the signs that convinced him of it. His name was Johnny Benjamin. He said he knew he was different as a child. And he said, he watched the movie, but he had watched it and go,
Starting point is 01:27:45 this kind of feels like my life. He said, I didn't fit in. I felt like a complete loser. So the thought of me being in this TV show and people watching me, people liking me, I was like, okay, maybe. And then he started to convince himself because he, I mean, he was sad. So he started to convince himself something that would make him not as sad. And he would do things and mean it, like in the Truman show where he just talked to something,
Starting point is 01:28:01 it could be a camera. I'd be like, hey, I know you guys are watching me. But he's doing this all the time until finally he got help. And he was like, he's like, he's not a show. man. It's really, this is real life. Are you serious when you say... Unless I hired a good actor to tell him it's not the show. When you say like you could be living in it, you believe that?
Starting point is 01:28:19 Like real? I can't prove anything. No, no, no. You say that, but do you truly believe it? I can't prove this not a simulation. Oh my gosh. I don't think it is, but I can't prove it. There's no way to prove it.
Starting point is 01:28:30 So how do you live your life? Not knowing or believe in it? As hard as I can. Okay. I live it. I live it hard. You know what I mean? No.
Starting point is 01:28:40 I don't know what you mean I just go You know what I mean? Hey, you know what I mean? No And just try hard And if it is it is Who knows if we're dreaming right now
Starting point is 01:28:49 I mean, I get it But I wonder how you are in your mind Like if you're truly thinking I don't think it's a dream I don't think it's a simulation Although that would be It's proven it definitely could be You're not ruling it out
Starting point is 01:29:00 I'm not ruling it out But I don't think it is Well sometimes Amy does glitch a little bit Yeah She'll be like So today she goes into a foreign language And then comes back in English And we're like what was that
Starting point is 01:29:08 She goes what do you mean? and I'm like somebody's up to the... That's always weird. I start looking at cameras in the wall. I know you guys are watching. And then finally, is it okay to use a sick day when you're not actually sick? Using it for what?
Starting point is 01:29:20 Yes. Did you just yawn? Are you that sleepy? Do you need to go home? You okay? What? You just yawn on the air? I tried not to.
Starting point is 01:29:28 I think he just finished his crossword puzzle. That's it. You need to go take a break, buddy? He perks up when you say sick day. Yeah, sick day. I was like, oh, man, you know, I can take a day off. You have a rough night last night? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:29:40 His cough. So you didn't think turn the mic off, though, before? The yawn came mid-talk. Like, I couldn't help it. Like, it was just like, ugh. Do you need some time off? No, I mean, I would take a sick day just for a day off. If you have just a cold, would you take a sick day?
Starting point is 01:29:55 Yeah. You don't, though. I know. You had a cough, like, malaria or something. You've been dying the last 10 days. The flu. Yes, you take a sick day. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:05 COVID. You have to. You guys made me take two months off when I had COVID. You never test a negative. It's just way early in it, too. That was way early. A doctor's appointment. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:15 No. I try to move mine to after the show. Exactly. Oh, well, yeah, we try not to have them during the show. Feeling mutually or emotionally overwhelmed. That's your mental health. What does that mean? That'd be every day. Mental health.
Starting point is 01:30:25 Yeah, I don't get that. You don't get that. No, I don't get overwhelmed. Huh. Yeah. Amy, you? I get overwhelmed. Would you take a sick day if you were overwhelmed?
Starting point is 01:30:36 I have had to. I've tried to come in and you've sent me home. I think if you even have a cold, I'm like, don't come in because I'll come in, but I sit farther away from you guys that can't get you sick, but the show doesn't run unless I'm here, but we're fine if anybody else misses for a little bit. Well, that makes us feel good. No, I want you to feel good because you need to be healthy
Starting point is 01:30:54 because you can't get Eddie sick. You owe it to the team to be here and be healthy and to get healthy fast as possible. Yeah, I agree. Yeah, thank you. To have surgery? Oh, yeah, for sure. To go to a funeral?
Starting point is 01:31:03 Yes. Okay, just checking with you guys. All that's fine with me. Any of that stuff you got to have to do? If you have the yawns. Oh, see you can't stop it. You can take a day off, buddy. You got to go.
Starting point is 01:31:13 Man, we all yawn before. All right. Not on the air. It's kind of an unspoken rule here. I don't think I yon on the air. You did. You did. You went like this.
Starting point is 01:31:21 Yeah. You go, I'll do it. All right, that's the news. Thank you. Those were Bobby's big. Stories. Christmas time. It's Christmas time.
Starting point is 01:31:32 Are you guys kind of feeling a little bit? Yeah. Have you guys done any shopping for other people? Yeah. Oh. You have? Yes. How much percentage-wise have you done?
Starting point is 01:31:42 50%? Pretty good. I have deemed this practical Christmas. So I'm going to get the people that I get gifts in my life. Good gifts, but they're going to be very practical. And that doesn't mean they're not going to be good, but there's some of stuff you use. I do my hand, like the stars. A practical Christmas.
Starting point is 01:31:58 So I've been, you know, and more gift cards this year than ever before. And I'm not a big gift card guy, but I can just dial in and know exactly the gift card that you will use. And so we're doing, and I'm getting. Morgan a gift in our gift exchange here. But it's a practical Christmas. But even for her? Yeah. For the show? It's a theme this year. Practical Christmas.
Starting point is 01:32:18 Okay. For me. Ray, how do you know a gift I bought somebody? Yeah, I mean, through the grapevine, I heard of a gift that you've already given. It's not even Christmas yet to somebody. Like, a crazy gift. It's practical.
Starting point is 01:32:33 It fits the theme. Don't say who it is. What is it? A mode of transportation? Oh, oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah, Ray, I saw that. I was like, dang. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Dang.
Starting point is 01:32:47 Someone posted their scooter online. No, that wasn't Chris. Yes, yeah. So, yeah, I mean, you were right. No, I don't think that's what people are getting. I was like, dang, that means it's going to be a good Christmas around here. I didn't buy any way a scooter. That's what it was.
Starting point is 01:33:04 Okay, that wasn't really a Christmas gift. I guess it could. You know what? I did say, let's count this as a Christmas present. So does that count? Yes. And it's very magical. Better.
Starting point is 01:33:12 You don't even know what it is. I do. Hey, a motor transportation. What? What? Red. Okay. He knows.
Starting point is 01:33:19 Is it a car. Is a car? That's very practical. That's very practical. That's very practical. I mean, I'm just thinking 05 Ultima. Anyway, moving on. Amy needed a car.
Starting point is 01:33:31 So I got a one. Yeah, you know. There is a Christmas market selling $265 hot dogs. What's in it? You have to wait 40 minutes to get it. At Rudolph's Christmas Market, the high-end hot dog cost anywhere from $250 to $270.70. Taking 40 minutes to prep, the hot dog has Kobe beef sausage, white all the truffles,
Starting point is 01:33:50 some sort of champagne foam, gilded peppercorn, and chocolate crumble. Customers called the hot dog dramatic. Anyone who orders it, had best chew slowly and enjoy the moment. Wow. Okay. I mean, it looks awesome. It does. $265.
Starting point is 01:34:03 I just can't imagine paying, I can't imagine paying any, that amount of anything to eat. Unless there's like a souvenir of a gold bar. on the table with it. But that's from Ladd Bible. But it does look really, really good. How big is it? About yay big. Okay.
Starting point is 01:34:20 It's like a foot long hot dog. So like you could get it going on with friends and you each get a bite. Yeah, but then you're fighting over who got the biggest bite and you've all paid so much money. Yeah. Ain't no way. This woman, she was drunk. She ordered 160 McNuggets speaking of food. Celebrating the World Cup.
Starting point is 01:34:33 She was so drunk, but short 160 McNuggets. Wow. Obviously she couldn't eat them all. And she didn't even know she ordered so many and they all get there. She's just hammered. That's from the New York Post. You ever order anything? Drunk?
Starting point is 01:34:42 Like you don't, maybe you're drunk when you order it and you do remember it, or maybe you're not drunk. I've never been drunk. I wish I had been a lot. That'd be fun. Drunk is fun. Drunk is fun. You ever order anything drunk? Morgan, ever anything drunk?
Starting point is 01:34:56 I have. I've ordered clothes and they always come back and show up and they do not look the same when I order. Do you like, do you usually like them? No, I've sent most of them back and I'm mad at myself when I do it. What does drunk Morgan like to order? Bold clothes? Yeah. A lot of leather. I don't really know why.
Starting point is 01:35:13 I know what. All right. You told us enough. Any of ever ordered anything drunk? Does Danix count? Sure. On earth. Because yeah, I shopped on that.
Starting point is 01:35:24 In a difference. Yeah. I mean, I didn't mean to, but I. That's kind of the point. Yeah. Yeah. So I'm with Morgan. Close.
Starting point is 01:35:32 Close. Oh my goodness. Close. One time it was a lot. And I'm glad I was able to return them. Eddie? Not Xanax You ever order anything drunk?
Starting point is 01:35:44 Does pizza count? Like when you're drunk, dude, a hot slice of pizza sounds great. Okay. No, but that's something you want. And when you're there, it arrives, you're happy. You're like, oh, I want some food. It's the best feeling in the world, isn't it? It is. It's great.
Starting point is 01:35:56 So you order pizza? Pizza and more beer, probably. More alcohol? If you're drunk, you're like, give me some more. Yeah, dinner for the whole table. That's happened. You've done that? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:36:06 You've had too much drink and you just bought... Well, you just maybe not even, you just get, you have one or two drinks and you're like, you know what? It's all on me. Wow. You're very generous with your wallet. Shots at the bar. Shots, a whole round of shots for people.
Starting point is 01:36:21 It's fun. Try it, Bo. Merry Christmas, everybody. Food real quick. I want to help Amy out here. If any of our listeners out there have plumpy nut. Excuse me? Plumpy nut.
Starting point is 01:36:34 If any of the listeners out there have plumpy nut. One nut? Well, that's a plumpy nut. If you know what it is, if you know it, if you know it, If you've got it, then you know it. Plumpy Nut is something that was served to my daughter at the orphanage in Haiti. And it's for kids that have malnutrition. And it's this peanut butter paste.
Starting point is 01:36:54 But she brought it up the other day. And she asked for it. And I want to put some in her stocking for Christmas as a surprise because I feel like it would, it's like nostalgic for her. And she's like, oh my gosh, it was my favorite. I loved getting Plumpy Nut. So you can't. It would be for me if I was like, I loved. government cheese as a kid,
Starting point is 01:37:13 because we had it all the time. It's how we ate cheese. We'd stand in line and we eat government cheese and government pudding. I love the taste of government cheese because I had it as a kid. Right. Now, it'd be like me going,
Starting point is 01:37:20 I can't buy government cheese, but if anybody knows where I can get the government cheese, I'd like it. And like, you'll pay for it. And I'm not asking for it for free, but I try to go to the website, and it's distributed to relief organizations and different nonprofits that work
Starting point is 01:37:33 and distribute the plumping nut. Oh, yeah. And they give it out. And I'm not looking for free, but I want to buy some, but I also am not going to buy pallets. So I just, I didn't know if anybody could get their hands on some plumy nut.
Starting point is 01:37:43 I'm asking me what my project is. Well, my friend's kid wants some... A practical Christmas, plumpy nut. Ooh, that's not bad. It's crazy because plumpy nut, you can eat that. And also, my nickname in college. Oh, boy. On the phone, we have Kimberly in Tennessee.

And if they can name five, seven famous sounds, you will win the prize. I'm really good at sounds. For example, I'm playing an example here. Go ahead. What's that? Email message.
Starting point is 01:38:26 Text message. That's not an email. Oh, you would have gotten it wrong. See ya. I count that as email. No, that would have been wrong. So Kimberly, don't let that affect you maybe. But who would you like to play for you, Amy or Eddie?

Starting point is 01:40:29 It's a whistle. No, but what's it from? Well, you could have said, what's the other sound? A man saying you got me. No, it's from AOL. Amy, do you know this one? I think so. I also, too, if I'm right,

Starting point is 01:41:49 Shocked. Do you want to come back to it? Yeah. No. Why would you let him come back to it? That's crazy. Yep. He's got a new rule.
Starting point is 01:41:57 Come back to it. It's fun. I mean, I have no idea. Okay, next one. Oh, yeah. That's ESPN. Sports Center. Correct.
Starting point is 01:42:07 Well, you need this one for the win. Oh, we're back to it. Oh, and let's go back to that little one. Let's go back. He set you guys up like the chumps you are. Oh, my God. Oh, no. He really doesn't know it.

Starting point is 01:42:34 Don't count me down. Let's see if she knows it. I'm counting you down because she doesn't get to guess. I don't know. I just want to know if she knows it. If she knows it, if she knows it. If she yells it out. She won't yell it out. Okay, Kimberly. Yes. Do you know that one? Yes. What? Everyone might know that one. Like everyone.
Starting point is 01:42:50 Everyone knows that one? Everyone right now screaming at you listening to their, on their phone or a car. I don't think I've ever heard that sound in my life. That's not true. My kids know this one. All right. Let me hear. Now you're on the clock. Oh, that is a commercial. Stay far!
Starting point is 01:43:11 Correct. Give him his price. Are you crying? Are you crying? Are you crying? Hey, you deserve that. Can we yell? Are you crying? No, I was coughing.
Starting point is 01:43:32 But yeah, Eddie, eat that. Eat it. Yeah, no one likes you. Well, that was a place we didn't plan. You know, that was not a part of the neighborhood. I thought we start by. Let's on my girl! Let's sign to my girl!
Starting point is 01:43:43 Kimberly, you won. Congratulations. Thank you, Bobby. Thank you, Bobby. Y'all remember I was in the studio when y'all first came. It was awesome. Well, I'm glad.
Starting point is 01:43:51 You're the greatest, Kimberly. Let's go! You're a winner! Let's go. National Soccer Club. Woo! Kimberly has won some crap from the back. Scoobo, what did she win over there?
Starting point is 01:44:01 I wish I had something as exciting as lunchbox, but it is a Blake Shelton T-shirt. Love it. I've got a Super Pets DVD. Oh, yeah. I've got Singing in the Rain. Heck yeah. Yeah, Gene Kelly.
Starting point is 01:44:11 And blank slate. Oh, that's a bad. That's some crap right there. From the back. All right. Bobby Bones show. Bonehead. Story of the day.
Starting point is 01:44:21 This story comes to us from Columbia. A 34-year-old judge was doing a Zoom meeting from her house. She had the prosecutor, the defense on the camera, and she was in bed smoking a cigarette, no pants on. And they were like, ah, ma'am, you know the camera's on right? She's like, oh, oh. Hit camera off. They reported her. She's been suspended three months.
Starting point is 01:44:41 Dang. You know what? I think it's weird that somebody smokes inside. Yeah. In their bed. Yeah. That's very comfortable.
Starting point is 01:44:47 That's like smoking in a restaurant. All that sounds in 1980s except for the computer part. Yeah. And so, yeah, that's weird. Ha-ha. You don't sure I can't. But she smokes inside. Her walls have to smell like.
Starting point is 01:44:58 Oh, yeah, everything. Stained kind of yellow because of smoke. Don't like that at all. She is a bonehead. I have a friend. Oh, Eddie and I's a very close friend. Who watches court cases? All day.
Starting point is 01:45:11 All day on Zoom. They have them and you can watch them. It's like a live stream of a court case. Because you can go into courts and just watch when they have real courts, but they live stream for the same access on the online zooms. Like any particular. Are they exciting? Are they really boring?
Starting point is 01:45:26 I clicked and they're terrible. Yeah, all kinds. I mean, from parking tickets to domestic violence. Because on TV they make them seem like court is so fun and it's action-packed. Yeah, I'm talking about like law and order. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're seeing, like, the drama. This is not dramatic.
Starting point is 01:45:41 But he watches it all day long, like in the background why he's working. Does he want to be a lawyer? No, no, no, no, no. He's our buddy Steve. Shout out, Steve Ortiz. Shout out. What up. Okay, Lunchbox.
Starting point is 01:45:50 I'm Lunchbox. That's your bonehead story of the day. Now it's time for the good news countdown. It's the good news countdown. Counting down the biggest good news stories across the lab. Number three. Number three. 16 dolphins got stranded on a beach.
Starting point is 01:46:08 beach last Friday, people in the area heard about it or they saw it on social media and everybody just ran to the beach with shovels and tarps and sleds and they saved all 16 of the dolphins. Wow. They literally just saw it and they were like, they're going to need a bunch of people, let's go. So one report said there were 100 people that showed up, even high school students and kids were there because school let them out to go help the doffin. That's so cool. But you know there were kids that were like, yeah, we'll say this.
Starting point is 01:46:30 And not go ahead of the dolphin. All right, let's go to the next one. Number two. An NYPD cop named Michael just got to meet 59-year-old Ruth. the woman he gave a kidney to in 2018. It was anonymous, but they've been writing letters over the years, and finally he got to meet her. You give somebody a kidney, you're A plus a mile.
Starting point is 01:46:47 You get to commit one free crime. I'm going to say it right now. Okay. You give somebody a kid. It can't be one of those if you do it and you didn't have the free pass, it can't be a death penalty crime. Gotcha. Not too bad.
Starting point is 01:46:58 You can't harm anybody. You can't hurt anybody. Other than that, you get one free shot at a crime. Wow, like you can try to rob a bank. Well, yeah, the problem is gun. Oh, okay. There are a lot of kids. I haven't really done the contract yet with this.
Starting point is 01:47:09 But right now, if you give somebody a kidney, you get to commit one free crime. That's awesome. Thank you. No, no, no, no. Giving the kidney. Oh, oh, oh, okay. All right, number one.
Starting point is 01:47:18 Number one. A cop on Long Island just delivered his fifth baby in five years. A woman gave birth in her living room on Saturday, and he helped coach her through it. Now people call him the baby whisperer. Lunchbox delivered a baby once. Yes, I was at the post office, and a lady in line went into labor,
Starting point is 01:47:33 and I held her hand as she pushed the baby out at the post office. Yeah. And you can tell you're lying because he added at the post office again at the end. I got that. Well, it's just he said this story forever and there's never been any proof whatsoever this happened. First, he helped her, had the baby, then we pushed him on it because we're like, what happened when this happened? He goes, well, I just held her hand. That is. That's what I did. I helped. Without me, she would have had no one to squeeze her and comfort her. Now, you've told us her name before. What was her name? Jackie. That was nothing. Is different name? I know. Why have we never heard from this woman? Jackie. She wants to remain anonymous.
