Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Hey, what's up, everybody? Welcome to Monday show. Morning, studio. Morning. Hope you guys had a great weekend. I do have a couple voicemails I want to start with.
Starting point is 00:00:20 Let's go with the first one. I want to know how much you tip your beautician. Probably lunchbox wouldn't tip them anything, but I always get a haircut every six weeks, and I take my beautician. I buy a $5 gift card from Starbucks. She can really buy something, but I want to know if that's good enough or not.
Starting point is 00:00:37 I think part of it depends on how much the haircut. is, I would assume that's plenty. And part of it too is you don't have to tip. It's, they hope for it. They expect it. But it's not like a job where you're waiting tables and you get $2 an hour and you depend on tips. So I would say tip, yes. But if you can't and you can only tip five bucks, I think that's fine. I do think it's fine. You? Yeah, I think that that's sweet too. He's making it a gift and he's consistent and that stuff will add up. I mean, that'll pay for her to get close to. After a month, she gets one drink. Maybe a grande latte. That's more of a Starbuck shot.
Starting point is 00:01:11 Yeah, you're a consistent customer, and I think that that's thoughtful and sweet. And $5, if you're going that often, your haircut, that actually probably is about right. And you could also not buy the gift card and just give her five bucks. That might even be a little more helpful if I'm being honest. True. But I think you're fine. It's different than going, should I tip my waiter? Yeah, you have to tip your waiter.
Starting point is 00:01:32 And I hope you tip your hairstylist, but they do make a wage. Okay, next up. I just got my first pair of Jordan. I'm 37 and my wife thinks I am too old to be wearing Jordans. And I want to know how I can wear these the right way or convince her that I'm not too old to wear these Jordans. Rob, you do you, buddy. I mean, the shoes they have one today are Jordans. I mean, they're Travis Scott like low top Jordans.
Starting point is 00:02:01 They're even yellow. So they scream. Yeah, it's fine. I don't feel weird at all. The Jordan, there's like the Jordan ones, which are the classics. They're almost like dress shoes. They're like casual dress shoes. Meaning I'm not going to wear them if I have to go some fancy event.
Starting point is 00:02:18 But if I'm in like nice jeans and a butt, you can wear those shoes with it. And I don't feel weird about it at all. And a bigger part of the story is if it makes you feel good and it doesn't make your wife feel completely ridiculous, you should wear them. If you're not with your wife, wear them all you want. You're not too old for Jordans. I think it could be 70 and wear it like the Jordan one. There are some crazy version of the Jordan's different,
Starting point is 00:02:41 but the Jordan ones especially, which is what he's probably talking about. Yeah, I think they're awesome. Yes. Yeah, wear them. I mean, what's the rest of the outfit? If you're doing the Jordans with like a sleeveless jersey.
Starting point is 00:02:54 It just sounds like he's wearing them. Yeah. You wear them, whatever it is. If it makes you feel good, wear it, don't worry about what other people think. Now, you do have to worry about that with your wife, though, sometimes if you're with her. I've learned the hard way.
Starting point is 00:03:06 I'm colorblind, so I can't just grab splotches anymore. Because I don't know what colors I'm wearing. She's like, did you ask anyone? And I'm like, is this not the same? She's like, no, that's orange, that's maroon, and that's red. I'm like, oh. So I do go to her and say, hey, can you help me pick out colors? Jordans, you're all good, buddy.
Starting point is 00:03:25 Appreciate you calling them. All right, that's it. Let's go. You guys, have a good show? Yeah. Good, because I'm not. I'm going to need you guys today. Come on, man.
Starting point is 00:03:32 We got this. Something we call Bobby Mailbag. Hello, Bobby Bones. I'm fresh out of college. I just applied for a job. Since I don't have the most experience they are looking for, I might have stretched the truth a bit on my previous employment and roles at those previous jobs. I'm a fast learner.
Starting point is 00:03:54 I just want to break into my field, and I felt like my resume needs a little padding. Is it wrong to lie on your resume? Or do employers expect that a bit? Should I correct those inaccuracies so it doesn't bite me in the butt? Sign, jobless Joe. jobless show here's the thing if your resume isn't good enough you're not going to get the interview once you get to the interview it's all based on if they like you or not you don't get to an interview without being qualified because they're not going to interview somebody that they're just not going to
Starting point is 00:04:22 hire i'm going to this process right now i'm hiring somebody new and i've done six interviews anybody i'm talking to has the credentials or resume or experience to have the job but i know in the first 30 seconds if i like the person i can tell been doing this a long time long time attitude, vibe. That's what I'm looking for. Communication. Don't lie on your resume. Because if they catch you, you will be fired.
Starting point is 00:04:50 You will lose your job. If you do lie, make sure it's something that can or can't be proved. For example, I once died and came back to life. They can't prove you didn't. Oh, that's a good one. That should get you the job. Yeah, that should. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:05:02 They can't argue with that. They can't argue with that. This is a special person because that doesn't happen to everybody. am known to have psychic abilities Whoa, prove I don't That might be too much No, that may freak them out But you can't prove them
Starting point is 00:05:14 You can't prove you shouldn't You shouldn't Because you may end up losing a job that maybe you'd have got anyway If they find out you were lying on it Right, you don't have to like make up this whole team Where you let them through this and that And then they put you in charge of leading a team And you're like, okay
Starting point is 00:05:31 I don't know how to manage it. Do employers really call and check like your No. References, yes. Not really. What? Not really. They don't?
Starting point is 00:05:40 For certain jobs, I'm sure they do. I never do. Oh, why? Because it doesn't matter to me. Like, I'm looking at the resume. I have a conversation with them. If I know somebody, I might, every, like, I interview somebody that Morgan knows, and I haven't talked to her about them. But I know Morgan, and I know she'll tell me what's up.
Starting point is 00:05:59 But if I'm just calling somebody from a list, that's already preset that if they get a call, they're going to give a good review. Yeah. Gotcha. So I don't really trust that. But what about past employers? Like, oh, you used to work at this company. You call them up. Like, what do you know about Joe?
Starting point is 00:06:13 They legally can't say Joe sucks. They legally can only say, I don't have anything to say right now. But no one's ever done that. Anybody I've ever called? They only list places. I know people that haven't listed jobs because it went so bad. So you wouldn't call that job. Yeah, I got a friend of mine that does that.
Starting point is 00:06:29 That job. You got fired from a lot of jobs. Prison. Don't call them. So if you're using. getting interviews you've already got there. Don't lie. Just build your resume. Literally, build your resume with little cool things that you can add that get you to an interview. And then once you get into an interview, keep eye contact, smile and let it rip.
Starting point is 00:06:51 People just want to be with people they like in personal life and professional life. That's it. People want to be with people that they like, that make them feel better, and that are qualified to be there, personal and professional. The whole key to life and business is relationships. Business, for sure. So, be honest about this one, unless it's I died and came back to life. That's a good one, man. Or I'm psychic.
Starting point is 00:07:19 Yeah, all that. They can't prove it's not true. Good job. Thanks for the email. Go get you a job. All right, jobless show. Close it up. We got your email and we have to close Bobby's mail bag.
Starting point is 00:07:33 It's like bizarro world with the ladies of this show because forever. Morgan and Abby were single and they were like, will we ever get a man? Now they have men and Amy was married and Amy's like, now it's the inside out. And now Amy's single and she's on the apps and Abby and Morgan are like married each other or something. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:07:52 They all have guys. But Amy's on Hinge. Is that your app of choice? Yeah, it's the only one I'm on. It's the only one I've ever been on. Is that the hookup one? No, that's Tinder. Yeah, you get the blender on Tinder.
Starting point is 00:08:04 You know what I'm saying? Yeah. No, Morgan told me if I was going to, going to do one, do Hinge. What's Hinge about? Well, that's where Morgan met her boyfriend. I think. My friend Kat met her husband on it. So it seems to be like a cool place.
Starting point is 00:08:18 The most normal? The most normal people. Hinge or Bumble, I think those are the two that I hear from people that are the most. You're not going to get what Eddie was alluding to. The hookup people. Blender from Tinder? Yeah. Morgan, Hinge is blank?
Starting point is 00:08:31 Hinge is just a better quality of people. Okay. So what's your goal on? And Jamie? I guess to just meet people, I haven't met anybody yet. But you're not looking like looking for friends, right? Because I always felt it was so lame when people did that.
Starting point is 00:08:44 No, no. You're looking, okay. No, I'm looking for, to date. I'm not even going to say, you don't want the blender, but you're looking to date.
Starting point is 00:08:51 Boyfriend. You know, I don't know. It feels weird still, even though I should be over it and I'm in my 40s, I get it. Like, people date. But I just haven't dated in so long that it does feel odd. I mean, I have gone out with people.
Starting point is 00:09:06 people from hinge. Has anybody hinged fished you? No, I don't think I've been fished. Well, as they don't really look like their hinge profile or they're not as they lie. No. No, the guy I went out with like he looks exactly like his profile. Like exactly. Wow. Like exactly. Oh, he's showing you on his profile. He did a good job like hey, it looks the same. Yeah. So but there's lots of like they they send you a mess like there's a different section, you know, sort of like in Instagram. You can go to DMs. So you're on hinge and you can look through people. I've never reached out to anyone, but I have.
Starting point is 00:09:41 No need to brag. No, I just am too. I'm not bragging. I'm saying, I've never reached out to anyone. They reach out to me. Sorry. Actually, then I'll rephrase that. I'm too nervous to.
Starting point is 00:09:53 We're giving you hard time. We're messing with you. Hey, it's a little messy mess. I guess I'm too nervous to be the first person to reach out. So. So I don't send anything. What's the weirdest part about it to you? I guess just the first interaction and like even going.
Starting point is 00:10:06 of their pages and seeing what they have on there. Like the voice recordings, I've told you all about that. Those are weird. But then you do get to hear their voice. And it's either cringy or it's kind of like, okay. Is it ever okay? Do you ever hear their voice and go, oh, that's pretty normal?
Starting point is 00:10:22 Because I feel like if somebody recorded like eight seconds into a thing, it's like, I'm names, Kristen, I like candles. Like that's just weird. I don't know that that can be a win. Right. So like I said, it's normally cringe. the one guy that did it where I was like, oh, this is actually kind of funny, there's prompts on him to read answer a question and it said,
Starting point is 00:10:43 what is your love language? And he decided to do a voice recording for that. And he said, well, my love language is, he's like, and he went on acting like, this might not seem very original, but it's English. Now, was he being funny? Because that's funny. That's funny. If it's funny, or is he stupid?
Starting point is 00:11:03 No, I think he was being started. And there's a very fine line between funny and stupid. Yeah. If he's doing that, that's funny. I like him, give him the blender. Okay. Do it, Amy. The blender.
Starting point is 00:11:14 Blend them. You know what I'm saying? Blender on Tinder. Yeah, that's what you do on Tinder, but you can blend them on. I'm not doing that, but I kind of thought. No. No. Well, that's a good voice.
Starting point is 00:11:23 That's a good voice. That's funny. It was funny. Was he ugly? Okay, so here's the thing. No, no, no, no. He's ugly. No, he was cute.
Starting point is 00:11:30 Here's the thing, though. He wasn't in my, like, DM part where he had reached out to me. He was just one I came across. I know. And I see I could comment. But don't, just write poke. Write poke with parentheses around it. No.
Starting point is 00:11:43 It's going to be taken differently. But what I would do, this is being an example, is if I like that, I could reply to that that he posted and say, oh, that's funny. I've never heard that before. Because I don't want to reach out first. That's my problem. No, no, no. You're using traditional values. You're using traditional values in a non-traditional means.
Starting point is 00:12:04 I don't think that I'm doing it because I'm like, oh, the man should speak first. Oh, okay. That's what I felt like. I know. You're doing it because he's ugly. No, I'm doing it because I feel like, oh, what if I reach out and then I don't get anything back? And that's just the risk you got to take, I know. I know. If you think it's funny and it looks like he hasn't been beaten with that stick, the ugly stick, then what's up?
Starting point is 00:12:28 Okay. Do you do like how much they need to make on there? No. You don't? I don't think that's an obvious. You need to get taken care of. You don't go with anybody on Hinge unless they're taking care of you. I have my own.
Starting point is 00:12:43 I take care of myself. Exactly. You want him to get to that burkin. Exactly. Baby wants a burking. She messaged me on Hinge last night. Yeah, no. Okay, well, I want to hear more about whatever this date was in a little bit.
Starting point is 00:12:55 We haven't gone on a date yet. No, not that guy, but you want to met with somebody else. Oh, yeah. You want to know about him? Oh, yeah. A little bit. Okay. And also, do you like, do you, what?
Starting point is 00:13:04 You go out with the guy if he's bald? I mean, and he clears his throat. Not about him specifically. He speaks for bald guys everywhere. Yeah, I just have questions. I'm not. I'm not.
Starting point is 00:13:14 We'll get back to it. Okay. What would you call that? Ball chain. Yeah. Discriminating. Against. Hair scrimining.
Starting point is 00:13:20 Hair scrimening. Yeah. It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me it's not been good. So there's a woman, Jess Haas, and she was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure. Late last year.
Starting point is 00:13:35 she was put on dialysis and then she started sharing on social media that she would need a kidney donation. She was shocked how many people were willing to get tested. A few weeks later, she gets a message from a former sorority sister named Megan Schultz. Megan was a match and is willing to donate her kidney. They haven't seen each other in over 10 years. But I just think it's so special that a decision she made back in college to be in a sorority allowed her to meet somebody. that her future self would end up having such a bond with and need.
Starting point is 00:14:09 And yeah, the fact that that girl just saw it and was like, yeah, I don't really know her that well anymore, but let's give her a part of my body. Yeah. They've had an emotional reunion. The journey has started and the transplant is scheduled for later this year. There is a writer. I'm a big fan of him, sports writer, and we had him on 25 whistles, our sports podcast. His name is Jeff Perlman. His wife was at a coffee shop, saw on it like a flyer somebody needed a kidney, gave him the kidney.
Starting point is 00:14:34 No. Didn't know the person. Just saw her just on a flyer. Gave him the kidney. And he's like, we didn't know them. We didn't meet them for years. But now we know them really well. But she just saw it on a flyer.
Starting point is 00:14:44 I think she's a very giving person anyway because she, I think she works in like helping kids. Okay. Like, what do you? Social worker? Social worker. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:56 Yeah. Yeah. So Eddie wants to do it. I wasn't going to say anything, but God, that'd be so awesome. Yeah. You'd something like that. It would be. I'd like to do it someday.
Starting point is 00:15:04 I mean, you can do it like, I mean, but these girls, once a sister are always a sister, Delta, Delta for life. I don't know this sorority, but. Right, anyway, there you go. That's what it's all about. That was tell me something good. No, you're not going to get it. No, never, never going to get it. Nothing. It's impossible to get this right.
Starting point is 00:15:25 Here's the question. 42% of Americans say they've never received one of these. That's the question. You're never going to get it. 42% of Americans say they've never received one. of these. You're not going to get it. Never, never going to get it.
Starting point is 00:15:39 Derek's on the phone right now. You're not going to give a chance to win some prizes. Derek, how's your day going, buddy? You know what? It's going. It's a great day today. Oh, I felt that too. So the question is, Derek, and you get a chance to answer it first, no pressure to get it
Starting point is 00:15:53 right. You have multiple avenues to travel down to try to get it right. But 42% of Americans say they've never received one of these. What is it? 42% of Americans says they have not. never receive all of these. You know, the first thing that comes to my mind
Starting point is 00:16:11 is a love letter. That's pretty good. Okay. Wow. It's pretty good. I wouldn't have thought that. I'd be one of the... I guess I got like a note for my wife later, but a full love letter. That's old school. That's old school. That's like Bridgerton stuff.
Starting point is 00:16:26 That is not correct, although that is a good guess. Now the show's writing their answers down. You're never, never going to get it. No, you're not going to get it. No, you're not going to get it. You're never, never going to get it. Not this time. No, you're not going to get it.
Starting point is 00:16:38 So I'm going to let you pick one of the show members, Derek. And if they get it right, you win the prizes. We have Amy. How do you feel? I feel good. Yeah, not great. I never try to say it feels super great. But I mean, I feel good.
Starting point is 00:16:49 I am good at this game. Boom. That's all I needed to hear in lunchbox. And I feel good. I feel great. I've received one of these before in my life, but most people haven't. Okay. Eddie?
Starting point is 00:17:00 Something popped into my mind immediately and that never happens. So I feel good. I feel okay. Okay. So you've heard those four, Derek. Which one would you like to be your partner? Ed. Don't let me down.
Starting point is 00:17:11 Ed. Don't let me down today, Ed. Wait, why are you picking Eddie? Why not? Because here's the thing. I'm going to pick Eddie. One, because I just feel like whenever something pops into your head, when you get that gut feeling, what you got to go with.
Starting point is 00:17:26 I got mine quick. I just didn't say that. But I said it felt good. You wanted to be all humble. And you can't expect people to not team up with you when you're being like so humble. If you were like, oh, man, I got it. I don't, because I don't know that I got it. Why would he be hating on my answer?
Starting point is 00:17:38 But it did pop into my head immediately. You don't even know it. But you didn't say that. So how is he supposed to know that? I agree. Okay, go with Ed. Dang. Yeah, go with Ed.
Starting point is 00:17:45 Go with Ed. Whoever Ed is. Okay. So if he wins, he wants a bunch of crap from the back, which is, we had a bunch of Bobby Bone Show hat sent us by somebody at bully ranch graphics. Don't really know what that is about it. But there you go, we'll all sign the hat. We got a DVD of the Oceans trilogy or that's a DVD or something.
Starting point is 00:18:02 We got a CD, got a sweatshirt, all kinds of crap from the. back. Okay, are we ready? Eddie, he has chosen you should be by. Amy, what's your answer? Like a jury notice. Oh, that's good. Lunchbox, what's your answer? It's a parking
Starting point is 00:18:16 ticket. Eddie, what's your answer? It's funny. I had jury notice, jury duty notice, but I didn't pick that. So far you two aren't right. That was my second guess. So far, you two aren't right. I'm not right? No. You just said it was good. It was good. And so was a love letter. I thought it was good too.
Starting point is 00:18:34 Okay. I'll tell you if it's stupid, don't worry. Eddie, hold, Morgan? I had a tip. Okay. Like a tip. A job where you have to get tips or something? Yep.
Starting point is 00:18:44 42% of Americans say they've never received one of these. It is not a jury summons. It is not a parking ticket. It is not a tip. Eddie. Well, Derek, I might not to apologize. Because I, too, had parking ticket. That is incorrect.
Starting point is 00:18:56 Okay. But it's not over. And we did say he would never get it. No, you're not going to get it. No, never, never going to get it. This is your last chance. This is the hell Mary round. So all four of them are going to write down a new answer.
Starting point is 00:19:09 Now, you can pick that one of any of them get it right. And if you say yes, they will, if any of them get it right, you win. If you say no, they won't, you want them all to miss it. So it's up to you. You know what? Say it again. Yeah, let me hear it again. Let me hear it again.
Starting point is 00:19:25 All right, Derek. 42% of Americans say they've never received one of these. Never received. They've never received one of these. What is it? They've never received one of these. I'm not feeling confident in any of them right now. Well, they haven't written any answer down.
Starting point is 00:19:40 They're looking at me. Yeah, we're thinking. Yeah, there's one, there's nothing popping in my head because once parking ticket was out of I'm in, what else could it be? They've never received one of these. They've never received one of these. Correct. It never received one of these. It could be anything.
Starting point is 00:19:55 It could be anything. It could be a kiss on the cheek and STD. Oh, my goodness. Oh, SDD's, it couldn't guess. You received them? It can't be, though, because he brought that. You get them. I know that that's the same word, but nobody's like.
Starting point is 00:20:09 Give them. Give them. Get them. I receive. Spread them. All right, guys, we have to have an answer here. Yes, yes, yes. 42% of Americans say they've never received one of these. No, I really feel like I can get it. Five seconds. Received.
Starting point is 00:20:22 I got something. I only have dirty things in my head. Morgan? Morgan. She's a new relationship, guys. Give her a break. Okay. They're all in. Derek. Are you saying they will or won't get it? I'm saying they're never gonna get it
Starting point is 00:20:34 Never gonna get it No you're not gonna get it A bonus Wow Oh that's so good I think you've never received a bonus Wow that's pretty good Is it? Bobby smiled
Starting point is 00:20:48 He smiled He couldn't even hide the smile Yeah but he does that thing where he tricks this That's true he does He didn't know you were coming with that And that smile just crap He tried to hold and he's like oh dang that's pretty good Lunchbox
Starting point is 00:20:59 Phone book on earth they put them on people's porches they used to put them on porches and they do not do that we all got them Eddie no you haven't
Starting point is 00:21:08 I think we were too specific with parking ticket so I'm going with a speeding ticket interesting let's go Morgan well I have I
Starting point is 00:21:19 first hit the bleeper ready say whatever you want to say we'll bleep it if it's bad go ahead a nude photo oh that's not you can say that okay yeah I got it
Starting point is 00:21:28 that's good a nude 42% of America said never received one of these a nude Derek, I'll let you change your mind if you want. You said they wouldn't, but you've heard their answers.
Starting point is 00:21:36 Do you now want to say that you think one of them are right, or do you want to stick with your original? It's probably speeding ticket. Let's see, here's the thing. Because you're giving me this out, I think you're making me second guess myself. Don't predict me. You can't predict me. You never know, Derek. You can't predict me.
Starting point is 00:21:52 The algorithm of me is unpredictable. That's fair. That's a fair statement. You know what? Then I'm going to stick with my gut. what my heart's telling me and that they're not going to get it. He's trying to predict me. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:22:05 And that's a bad move because one of you got it. I knew it. Okay, it's either speeding ticket or bonus. Your answer, bonus was really good. It was not it. It's speeding ticket. I might be the new king. I'm never going to get it.
Starting point is 00:22:19 You've got like three or five or something. In the last like three weeks. Yeah. It's crazy. My two in a row ends. Derek. Me too, me too lunch. Wow.
Starting point is 00:22:27 Derek, Derek, Derek. See, I picked Eddie. He did. I had picked it. Just one round too long. Round too late. Actually, you picked Ed, but that's all right. That's true, too.
Starting point is 00:22:37 It works. Derek, you did not win, man. I hate that for you. You know what? I hate that for myself, but I think there's always tomorrow. You know what I mean? There's always... No, we're not doing this.
Starting point is 00:22:48 You know what? He brings up a good point. Do you want to do it again tomorrow and bring him back on us if he gets it tomorrow? I can do that. He's feeling it. Maybe not tomorrow. We'll do it. Okay, Derek, we'll get you back on.
Starting point is 00:22:55 We'll do it again, okay? I appreciate you. Amy went on a date with somebody from Hinge. We talked about Hinge in a segment a little bit ago. we didn't know you went on a date, so we appreciate you sharing that with us. How did it go? It was good.
Starting point is 00:23:09 What did you do? I don't think I told you all because I wasn't ready yet. But we just met up for a drink and it was a one hour meetup. And I was very relieved because I knew exactly who he was because he looked exactly like his photo.
Starting point is 00:23:22 Did you Google him, his name? No, you don't. I didn't know his last name. You can find that. You go to Instagram and like searching pretty easily. Well, I didn't have his Instagram. No, but you can just like see a first name where they're from.
Starting point is 00:23:33 Yeah, that hasn't been very easy for me because I've tried that and I'm like... They're fake naming you then. You're getting name fished. No, you search a very common name in the city and you think you're going to pop up with somebody. You can just describe somebody's hair color to me. I'll find their name where they're from, their birth. Yeah, I know I have friends that are better at it. Me personally, I didn't find out much.
Starting point is 00:23:55 I just went with what I had on the profile. How traditional of you? Yes. What do you look like? What celebrity if you had to assign him? a random celebrity. If I had to assign him, maybe like Matt Damon. Oh, that's pretty good.
Starting point is 00:24:09 Yeah, he's older. He's older than you? Mm-hmm. How many years? Two, three. Seven or eight. First time of date a guy in the 50s? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:18 Was that weird, do you? No. He doesn't, he didn't seem 50. He seemed younger. What was he wearing? Was a shirt tucked in? I don't, no, no. Was he wearing like t-shirt and jeans or like suit?
Starting point is 00:24:32 No, jeans and like a button down. Was he coming from work? No, it was a Saturday. Did he have gel in his hair? No. Do you have a goatee? No. All right, we're clear.
Starting point is 00:24:42 Good questions. What was he drinking, Amy? Good question. I don't remember. Like one of the cocktail, I don't know, it was a cocktail place. A fruity cocktail? It wasn't too fruity. Maybe it was like a vodka drink or a whiskey drink.
Starting point is 00:24:57 And what, what? Okay. As broad and vague as possible. Like what world of career was. see. Money, business, sales, athletes. Let's say, business. Okay.
Starting point is 00:25:12 Okay, okay, okay. Yeah. And what drew you to say yes to go on a date with him? And how did he ask you on the app? He's normal-ish, he seemed, and nice. Like, nothing about his profile made me go, oh. You know, no it, no cringe. Because sometimes someone will look cute and you keep squint.
Starting point is 00:25:33 scrolling and they have good answers to something and you get to bottom and they answer something else and you're like okay you know did he have any pictures in his profile with a shirt off no got it i yeah what was the first thing you talked about oh so oh how long you've been on you mean on the after when we met up in person when you met up in person and he was like so ever done this before and i was like no and he's like i have it's horrible hey that question could be asking you later in the night Yeah. No, because there's only a one-hour thing. Absolutely, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:26:08 He expressed to me that he hasn't had, like, the best of experience. I think he also, like, I was relieved. He looked like him. And then I believe, by the way he was speaking, he was relieved. I looked like me because he was like, you never know out here. What about, what kind of car do you drive, do you know? Like a truck or a car or an SUV? Like a truck.
Starting point is 00:26:30 Okay. Mm-hmm. rest my case I like him did you like him yeah he's nice he's nice somebody that's nice
Starting point is 00:26:39 yeah but I don't know I just am not I'm not good at this and then I wonder am I even ready for this and I'm awkward that just means you don't like him but it's okay for me
Starting point is 00:26:46 to figure it out you don't have to justify anything that doesn't mean I don't like him no no no but you don't it's like people going I'm not ready for a relationship no no that means I'm not ready for a relationship with you
Starting point is 00:26:56 they don't want a relationship with you so when you're like I'm not ready he must not have you know tickled a pickle so much. And we did. We went out again. But again, I think a lot of these feelings could have happened after even the second date, right?
Starting point is 00:27:07 Like you liked him. But then after this, whenever this last date was, you're like, I don't, he's nice. What you're explaining is your total basket of feelings you have now, not just after the first date. I'm just trying to be chill about it. Sure. Yeah. Or do you like him and you're being so chill because you still want him to call you back and he's got all the power? No.
Starting point is 00:27:27 I mean, I guess I don't know. I'm just trying to go with the flow. That's the best way I could describe it. I'm not trying to read too much into something or wondering. Because the last time I dated, I was in my 20s. And it was always like a date. If I met somebody, it would be like, who can I marry them? And I'm trying to dial that back.
Starting point is 00:27:48 I'm approaching it very differently now that I have been married. And I just like, oh, could I? I'm just asking right. If he called you again, would you go out again? Yeah. Yeah. But you're being weird about your area. He can be weird because it's weird to talk about.
Starting point is 00:28:05 I don't know. Okay, that's good. Then good. You're good. Because you've been so unpredictable that I don't even know what you really mean. Yeah. It's difficult to talk about. And I don't know what y'all are going to say.
Starting point is 00:28:16 And I'm biting you into this very weird world. Welcome to the world that I lived in forever and Morgan and, you know. I know. I mean, when I joined the show, I was single before I was getting married. And when I started dating my husband, I remember it got weird. And he didn't handle it very well. and then it was just this, I don't know, he was very private. And I don't know.
Starting point is 00:28:36 I've not thought about, hey, I'm going to talk about this. Have you gone out more than one guy from Hinge? This is my date, my Hinge date. And Morgan kind of, Morgan. Great political answer. Like, what I like there was, she did not answer that question. Did Morgan help me? I probably only ended up going out with this guy because of Morgan.
Starting point is 00:28:54 But I said, is this the only person you've gone out with from Hinge? Yeah. It's my only Hinge tape. You don't have to lie. You're being awfully efficient. I'm not lying. I'm so confused. Her answer of, hey, is this the only one?
Starting point is 00:29:06 This is my Hinge date. Sounds like her TV reviews now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, so what if I... Three stars. Okay, well, listen, we're not going to beat you up over it. But if there's a date, not from Hinge is my point. Whatever, but not a date.
Starting point is 00:29:19 Only fans? What? Oh. No. I don't know if I'm ready to talk about this. Great, then don't. Okay, I thought I was... I don't want to push you into anything. Okay.
Starting point is 00:29:27 Take a step back. Also, I mean, my kids know, certain things and I guess dating in your 40s with kids is different I can even tell just in my like right now my I can talk on the radio no problem we share
Starting point is 00:29:43 lots of things and right now like I'm hot and it's freezing in here we're gonna get out of here whenever you're ready to go back into it again we'll go back into it no pressure I want to share things I think I just got to figure out how
Starting point is 00:29:58 are you hot because you're thinking about him or are you hot because talking I'm going to play this. Thank you guys. This guy loses his nuclear security clearance because a celebrity meme catfished him, meaning someone acting like a celebrity. And they're like, well,
Starting point is 00:30:13 if we can't trust you not to send your money to a fake celebrity on the internet, we can't trust you to be inside the nuclear plant with all these codes and access. Which that makes sense. Yeah, I agree. An online catfishing incident has caused a Department of Energy contractor
Starting point is 00:30:27 to lose his security clearance. He thought he was responding to a quote, famous actress and he sent these celebrity 3,800 bucks. So that wasn't just the story. So that enough was enough to you're an idiot or you felt vulnerable.
Starting point is 00:30:42 One of the ways they're like, we don't think you can have this clearance. But the second thing is, they found out that money was embezzled from a nonprofit. Oh, that's not good. That's not good. It's a double not good.
Starting point is 00:30:55 Yeah. And so they took away his, and thankfully, you know what? I'm happy they did. You don't want him to have that power. Next thing you know, Charlie Sterling wants some nuclear codes and he's like, here you go. It's not even really her.
Starting point is 00:31:05 Yeah, I feel, I feel bad. When I say idiot, I feel bad for the guy because obviously there's something in his life that is not fulfilled that he felt he needed to pursue a relationship with whatever this is. He was very vulnerable. But then he did illegal stuff too. Yeah, he's also embezzling money from a non-profit. I just feel like he's not right. So he wouldn't have done any of that if he was right. That's from Gizmoto.
Starting point is 00:31:30 Here's Amy's pile of stories. Have you ever had to block someone or have you been blocked? On what? Texting, emails, socials. If so, I don't know about it. I've blocked many a person, but I don't know if I've been blocked. Why do you ask? So I have a list of things of what to do when your ex blocks you after a breakup.
Starting point is 00:31:50 Oh, I don't care. Well, some people might. They maybe are in this moment right now. Like, I have a friend going through this right at this exact moment. Are you your friend? We can't meet if it is. Okay, go ahead. So you just need to accept that this is their way.
Starting point is 00:32:02 of healing. Like if they have blocked you. What about accepting you might be psycho? Because nobody actually feels like they're the psycho. You realize this right. Everybody's like, this person's crazy. Didn't work. No one ever goes, why didn't it work? Oh, because I'm freaking psycho. That never happens. Just give them that space. Don't retaliate. Just be like, okay, this is. Now we're talking to the psycho.
Starting point is 00:32:24 Don't retaliate. Go ahead. Remind yourself that there's a difference between a block and an unfriend. So like, at least you're still there. Also, think about what you're You commonly... You just said blocked. So you're not there anymore. That's worse than unfriend. Yeah, but you can't even go to the page. That's true.
Starting point is 00:32:39 Okay. Think about what you commonly share online. Like, sometimes it's hard for an ex to see you posting what your life is like. So maybe they just don't want to see it. You don't have to look at it as negative. Maybe they're just protecting their emotions. I hear you. This is the proper protocol here.
Starting point is 00:32:53 If it's going to be dramatic, you don't block them. You just mute them. So you never have to see their crap. If it's not going to be dramatic, you can block them and unfriend them, whatever. But if it's not going to be dramatic, you can block them and unfriend them, whatever. But if you know that they are psychotic, you just mute them for a while. Therefore, they have no reason to go psycho on you in regards to social media because they think you're still watching, but really you're not. That's good.
Starting point is 00:33:15 It's good advice. If they're absolutely a nut, I mean, you just got, or if you're dating somebody new, you got to unfollow them. Yeah. And then lastly, you can thank them for the time apart. Like, not to their face. No, no, no, no. Not to their face, but this is good for your mind. You know, sometimes you trick your brain.
Starting point is 00:33:32 Just be like... I blocked you, but I want to thank you for a time apart. Not going to work. I can turn them into a psycho. Okay, so where does Gen Z get their news? A lot of younger people, yes, TikTok, but also the comment section. So they see an article posted and then they kind of read the headline and then if everything's a little bit too long, they go to see what comments are saying and they feel like they get a gist of it.
Starting point is 00:33:55 And they say that to them that is a reliable way to get the news. It is. And I'm going to tell you why. It is not. It is. It is. I do this too. If you go, like a TMZ, for example, they're like, you'll never guess, click here to see what Justin Bieber spent on.
Starting point is 00:34:06 And someone to go, don't worry about going to the page. Here's what the article says. And that's what they do. It's not like they're writing new news. They're just, they're tired of people falling for all the clickbait, so they write it there right below it. Okay. As like, you know what, the ambassador of Gen Z's apparently. So someone that's really nice that takes the time that's like, hey.
Starting point is 00:34:24 Somebody always does it. It's just the culture. If there's some where they're trying to clickbait you, if you click into the comments, if you get a news story to get a, they write. They write it so you don't have to go to it. You're so Gen Z. You're so young. I'm just on the phone a lot. Let's be honest.
Starting point is 00:34:37 Yeah. Okay, well, I'm going to try that because I always go, click link in bio, and I go to it. Hey, how? Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Okay, well, now I'm going to get my news. He was like, I always go pick up the newspaper and read you on me.
Starting point is 00:34:52 Okay, so Dolly Parton, back in the day, she had this TV special called Dolly Parton meets the kids. And this is from the 80s. And she would sit around with teenagers in L.A. And they would ask her questions about life. And one of the kids one day, his name's Paul, asked Dolly a question. And then he looked at her and he said, you know what? To be honest with you, I don't really like country music. And I just loved her response.
Starting point is 00:35:13 And you can use this maybe in your life today regarding something else. And Dolly said, well, to be honest with you, I don't really care. And it's a good reminder that he may not like it. Go pick a switch, kid. You about to get whooped on TV. That's what I said. But his opinion of what. what she does for living wasn't going to bother her.
Starting point is 00:35:33 Also, people that just, and this is a kid's brain, but also adults that have kid brains, if they just don't like something in a massive space, they are just, they're just wanted to sound cool, or they don't know enough about it. Like if I go, I hate all polka. I don't think about polka music. I know like a couple things, like, but I don't know enough about it to actually say that. And I bet you there's a couple good songs in there. So anybody that just generally, I hate all barbecue, you haven't had Eddie's.
Starting point is 00:36:02 That's right. So it's either a kid or an idiot who says that. That was Amy's pile of stories. By the way, tomorrow night, Eddie and I are in Portland. We're doing a podcast. You guys can go to the Portland affiliates website, 987 The Bull. You can sign up to come to that podcast. You can hang out with us.
Starting point is 00:36:19 It's free. Go on up 987 The Bull.com. That's our affiliate in Portland. We're going to be there tomorrow. It's time for the goodness. News. I want to tell you about Max. Max Pastor, in 2022, I think he was 17 or 18 years old.
Starting point is 00:36:36 So back in 2022, he saw a flyer for a missing cat. And he was like, oh, I have a drone. I'm just going to fly the drone over and try to find the cat because I can get up above. But you can't. You can't with a drone, if you do something that's not just for a hobby, like if you're actually, you have to go and get a license for it if you're going to like chase down animals. So he's like, all right, fine. So he goes and gets a part 107 license, whatever that is.
Starting point is 00:36:57 and a more capable drone, and now he does this for people all over the area. He's, they know who he is. They go to him like, hey, can you find a dog, cat, cow, whatever, goes up. That's awesome. And he's able to, and he's been able to find so many animals. And at night, they also do the thermal camera and see heat signatures. That's cool. Unless he works for, like, the CIA or FBI, and this is really just a story to make us think he's legit.
Starting point is 00:37:20 And he's actually looking at all of us. Oh, yeah, that's true. But no, I think what he's doing is good. I feel like at night you probably see all kinds of things. you're like, oh, no, body's going up and down. Oh, my goodness. What? Drugs being, yeah, drugs. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:32 Max, good job, buddy. We like that. That's what it's all about. That was tell me something good. Morgan, our head of digital, found a dog, took care of the dog, got the dog healthy again. Look for the dog's owners. Never found the owners. There's an update.
Starting point is 00:37:47 What is it? Yeah, so shout out Proverbs Rescue. They pulled her in, got her spade and everything. And so she was ready for adoption. And I brought her back to Kansas with me for my sister. wedding and my parents fell in love with her. Wow. Their dogs fell in love with her.
Starting point is 00:38:02 And they decided to adopt her. Her name is now officially Lola. Oh, that's awesome. Oh, they get me like chills on my arm. Yeah, that's cool. Holy cow. That is like the best update. It was so special.
Starting point is 00:38:15 Like we wanted to see how all the dogs would do before they, I shared the news or talked anything about it and they just blended seamlessly. And now my parents have three dogs and they're like happy. little family. That's like the best possible scenario. Yeah, now I get to see her all the time. Wow.
Starting point is 00:38:33 So did they know they wanted the dog earlier? They knew that they really liked her from all of my stuff, but you just never know how dogs will interact with each other. And so that's what they were most concerned about. And when they all started to get along the first day, they're like, yeah, this is over. I'd like tell me something good right there. Yeah. Bonus one.
Starting point is 00:38:49 That's awesome. Morgan's parents, if you're listening, that's really cool. Dang, Lola's got home. Oh, my God. Lola. All right. Let's go and do the morning corny. The morning corny.
Starting point is 00:39:02 What did the firefly say to her BFF? You glow girl. You glow girl. That was the morning corny. We're about to do a draft of the best opening lines to songs. And so I'll give you one that nobody's going to use. Are you sure? Yes.
Starting point is 00:39:24 for example I don't practice Santaria that's the opening line everybody knows the rest of it that would be what song Sanaria Sanaria
Starting point is 00:39:35 Sanaria I want to give you any more because I don't want you guys to take it This is a tough one for me Okay How about this Dearly beloved
Starting point is 00:39:44 We have gathered here today To get this thing called life Prince Let's go crazy That was mine Pick I'm no chance It was on a list
Starting point is 00:39:53 Those wouldn't be the songs we would use. I've grabbed some from a list too on the internet to do examples. So let's go. Opening lines of songs. We'll do the draft. Amy has the first overall pick. Yes. We will do that next.
Starting point is 00:40:07 Best opening lines to songs. Amy gets to go first and I go last the first round. Are you ready? Ready. Go. Blame it all of my roots. I showed up in boots. I think everybody had.
Starting point is 00:40:23 that if they got the number one pick. I thought I was being clever. With the most... Friends in low places? People that don't even know country music know that. Oh, man. All right, that's a good one. I'm in trouble.
Starting point is 00:40:34 Good solid pick. Lunchbox. Yeah. Just a small town girl. That's good. Living in a lonely world. She took the midnight. That's it.
Starting point is 00:40:46 That's it. No, you get living in the lonely world because that's the sentence. That's a different sentence. She took the lonely world. When I googled it, they said this was the opening line. You said the opening line. You don't get the opening two lines. Opening line.
Starting point is 00:40:59 You Google it, that gives you, they say that is the whole line. I hate those Googlers. All right, Eddie. Gosh, this is tough now. I'm going to go with, somebody once told me. You can do the world. The world is going to roam me. Okay, cool.
Starting point is 00:41:14 Perfect. That's smash mouth, baby. That's good. Morgan? This one is so iconic. It only needs three words. Let's go, girls. Oh, that's good.
Starting point is 00:41:26 Now I'm in trope. Let's go, girls. I have long lines. Let's go. Okay, I'm going to go. I hear the train of coming, comma. It's rolling around the bin. Dang, dude, that's so good.
Starting point is 00:41:44 I had that one, but that's two lines. That's that Folsom Prison? Yeah, same. Dang it. That's my next one. All right, so I get to go first in the second round since I went last in the first round. And I'm going to go with, now this is a story all about how my life got flipped turned upside down.
Starting point is 00:42:05 Wow. So we can do theme songs. It's just songs. Best opening lines of songs. That's really good. Fresh Prince of Lair. Mm-hmm. Oh, like everybody knows that.
Starting point is 00:42:15 That's good. I may have opened something up in your head. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Morgan? Oh, yeah. Okay. Hmm.
Starting point is 00:42:25 There's one I want to do, but I can't say it correctly. So I don't think I... Okay. I'm going to go. At first, I was afraid. I was petrified. That's good. That's really good.
Starting point is 00:42:36 Gloria Gainer, I will survive. Oh, okay, yeah. Oh, dang, I got a good one. Just popped in my head. Go ahead. So, tell me what you want, what you really, really want. Spice Girls. Yeah, I want to be.
Starting point is 00:42:51 Lunchbox? All right, here we go. That's it. Some people call me the space cowboy. That's good. Some people call me. Are you going to look right then? To find one?
Starting point is 00:43:06 No, I have that on my list. That's the Joker, but. Steve Miller band. That's really good. He was on his computers. I was like, what's he Googling right now? I have to eliminate whenever you guys say one. Got it, got it.
Starting point is 00:43:16 Amy? Picture perfect memories scattered all around the floor. You want to sing it for us? Picture perfect memory scattered all around the floor. I had to hear that. Actually, it's Lady A, right? Need you now. Did you now?
Starting point is 00:43:31 Okay. All right. It's tough. It's good. I didn't say it wasn't good. Amy has blame it all on my roots I showed up in boots and picture perfect memory
Starting point is 00:43:43 scattered all around the floor Steve Amy your third and final one It's so hard for me to choose Don't know that song It's so hard for me to choose Okay Tumble out of bed and stumble to the kitchen
Starting point is 00:43:59 Pour myself That It just ends the kitchen Other those are the comma there It's a period Okay Tumble out of bed And it's stumble to the kitchen
Starting point is 00:44:07 Okay, good. That's 9 to 5. Lunchbox. Man, I don't know if there's a comma in this one. Just give it a rip. Well, I don't want to use it if it's not a comma because... But it doesn't matter. We're just trying to make sure people don't cheat and do two lines.
Starting point is 00:44:19 Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Give it a run. We'll tell you. No, because if it is, I don't want to use this song. Well, you think it's not good enough. No, it's good enough, but I think the... Oh, my God. Check a song.
Starting point is 00:44:29 All right. Jeremiah was a bullfrog. That's a joy to the world. That's all you need. Like three dog night? Yeah. So on that voting, you're just going to see the first line of the song. So it's got to be so known by just the lyrics of the song.
Starting point is 00:44:43 Yeah, I can't tell you it right now. I'll tell you afterwards and you can tell me if it's the first line if I had too many words on there. Eddie? Oh, man. I've got like four to choose from. Which, by the way, lunchbox's list is, Just a small town girl living in a lonely world. And then some people call me the space cowboy.
Starting point is 00:45:02 And then Jeremiah was a bullfrog. Eddie? Willie, don't let me down. Give me on the road again. On the road again. Is that where it ends or can I go? Just can't wait to get back on the road again. Yeah, that's good.
Starting point is 00:45:19 Starts the course. Yes. To me, that was the strength right there. Let's go with whatever the name of the song is. If it's the first line, do it. Morgan. Okay. I have so many good one.
Starting point is 00:45:31 Way down yonder on the chat of hoochee. That's a good one. I forgot it started like that. Yeah, that's a good one. It's a real good one. All right, Morgan has, let's go, girls. And at first I was afraid I was petrified. And way down yonder on the Chattahoochee.
Starting point is 00:45:48 Okay, my final song, I can talk it out. So I was going to do, so no one told you life was going to be this way. Clap, clap, clap, clap. But you have two show theme songs. Yeah, why not? That's what he wants. That's why. I mean, it's like super known.
Starting point is 00:46:03 True. See, I had whatever happened to predictability. I'm not done, dude. You should do Camerillo by morning. Of course that's on there. Why did you give an option? That's on there.
Starting point is 00:46:15 It's not on there. Is it on your list? No. No. Whole House wasn't on your list. Eddie. Hey, take that out of the bit. Gosh.
Starting point is 00:46:23 Yeah, that's kind of dumb by Eddie, but I don't like that anyway. I'm going to go, I like big butts and I cannot lie. Oh, I have that. Oh, dang. It's good. It's very makes a lot.
Starting point is 00:46:30 Man, I wasn't on the list. I didn't pull all mine from the internet. Yeah, that's not about. Is I struggle with music, so I don't know how songs start or how songs go. And so like that's why when you say, oh, that's not the first line. That's too much.

Starting point is 00:47:02 That's the whole line. I would have you have that. I didn't know. That's what I'm saying. I'm like, oh, so where does it stop? Or I had, I got my first real six string, bought it at the five and die. Not that. Don't see that.
Starting point is 00:47:13 That'd have been. I got my first real six string. Boom, that's it. That's it. Oh, that's it. Got it at the five and dot. Why don't I didn't go that one? So I could have had you shoot me all night long.
