There's a lot of luck. Yeah. Listen to Thanks Dad on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. It's time for the Bobby Bones post show. Here's your host, Bobby Bones. Hello, everybody. How much do you really need to retire? This map shows how much income is needed for senior citizens to live comfortably in each state.
Starting point is 00:02:11 And what they do is they lay it out per year. Like you need this much money per year to retire. What I would be scared of is living longer than the money I have, but then I also don't want to die, so I would just be confused. Because I'd have a number I'd want to live up to, but then I'd always be scared I'd live past that number, but then I also don't want to die and live before that number.
Starting point is 00:02:30 Right, but the older you get that's somebody else's problem. Right, like once we turn, say we make it like 95, I'm not going to know how to live my life. Yeah, someone else is going to be taking care of you. I have 95-year-olds that can take care of. Not us, not me. But you want to be able to pay for yourself just in case. Yeah, but I'm telling you, in 95, you're going to have to change my diapers.
Starting point is 00:02:50 Maybe. At 95, you're going to, someone's going to have control of your bank account. Maybe. Maybe you know. If you don't have any money and no people, you're screwed. Exactly. I have four kids. Somebody's going to step up.
Starting point is 00:03:02 Somebody out of the four kids better step up. You're hoping, because here's what you need. On average, across the United States, the average annual income required for comfort every year is $68,000 after you retire. How do you make $68,000 a year when you don't work? You don't make it. It's all the money you've had to save for your retirement. That's what they've been saying about us. We're not retired.
Starting point is 00:03:25 We're not saving money to retire. Oh, man. Assuming an average inflation rate of 3% of the American entering retirement is age 65 and likely to live another 30 years, they would. need nearly $3.5 million. What, bro. I don't know, man. I don't spend that much money. Golf.
Starting point is 00:03:42 Now all of a sudden you start back. You know, I don't know. I don't, I don't. Let's take the bus everywhere I go. Yeah, but if you do live in an assisted living type place, those are, they add up. My kids better not put me in one of those. Oh, they will. Oh, they better not.
Starting point is 00:03:56 But what are they going to do if they don't have a bunch of money? Put me in their house? I don't care. But even in their home, if they have a job and you need a caretaker, like. They got neighbors. I mean, do not. not put me in one of those. They got neighbors. I saw a great TikTok of this like couple saying like this what we're going to do our kids whenever, whenever they have their own houses and the parents
Starting point is 00:04:14 are trash in the house. They're like eating food on the couch and like messing up their room. I love it. The payback. Hey, yeah, it's all fun. I'm just saying for you two that always talk about retirement, but aren't saving toward retirement. We're saving. You're not. A little bit. You're not. Loose change, man. Adds up. It does. I got a jar. But $68,000 a year. I probably didn't have a 68,000 period. Right. Just some numbers. I don't plan on retiring.
Starting point is 00:04:40 I'll probably die. Really? Die working? Probably. You'll never retire? I don't know that that's true. I could get sick next year. But I could also never get sick and live to 110.
Starting point is 00:04:51 Right. But what if you are 90? Are you still working? If I still enjoy it, I'm still working. Oh, God. That'd be a terrible show. Let me tell you. Welcome to the hemorrhoid hour.
Starting point is 00:05:00 I'm telling you about aliens. They're coming. Hey, I told you before 10. There's a new study. Ten years ago when those aliens came, I'd been telling you for 20 years already. And those dang movie theaters are still around. They're going out of business here real soon. They are.
Starting point is 00:05:14 Movie theaters, as they were, are almost dead. Now you have to have a big, long chair, got to have food. They're still the same. Got to have companies. No, no. Some fans think Taylor Swift is dating Travis Kelsey to get people off her back about flying private jets all the time. Yeah. Because she's always the person who, when they do all these celebrities whose carbon footprint is the worst,
Starting point is 00:05:34 It's usually Taylor's one of them because she just, and I want it to get on my jet and go everywhere. You know what I mean? That'd be awesome. But so now these theories are popping up that if you Google Taylor Swift Jets to look it up, you get all the Taylor Swift to the Jets game stuff. It's like New York Jets. Hilarious.
Starting point is 00:05:50 Uh-huh. Who knows? So they think it was a calculated move. But she's been to more games. True, but what if she went to that game to set up the Jets game? Yeah, exactly. I don't know. I believe it because it is not real.
Starting point is 00:06:03 There's no way it's real. I don't feel like it's real. The more I watch it, the less I think it's real. But did you see that she's traveling with a team now? That's not true, Eddie. That's a fake thing, too. No, I saw. No, it's not.
Starting point is 00:06:12 That's a picture they cut her out and put it there. Are you sure? This is how fake news gets put out. Are you sure? Did you see it on Facebook? Yeah. Yeah. Okay, maybe not then.
Starting point is 00:06:22 That's not true. She's not true. Yes. Because I'd be so upset if I was the Chiefs. She's not traveling with the team. But I also don't think, I don't feel as real about it as I did. I don't know, but they like, didn't they kiss? Okay, so what?
Starting point is 00:06:38 Like, that's hard to have to fake kiss him? Yeah. Okay. That would be hard. Did they kill? I know they were holding hands going into S&L. You never fake kiss someone? No.
Starting point is 00:06:50 No, I've never fake kissed anyone. I never fake kiss on the one either. I know I haven't. I haven't either, but Eddie, you're acting like, you're acting like if you were single and you had to fake kiss Taylor Swift, it would be hard? No, no, for her. But why? Why?
Starting point is 00:07:02 Why? He's a good looking guy. It's all a plan for something. If you're going to have to fake kiss, why not fake kiss with somebody who's a good looking? Right, but what's the plan? We don't know. But we just told you one of them, and her movie is out this weekend. The other one is the Jets thing?
Starting point is 00:07:15 Yeah, 95 million bucks. Obviously, I don't know. I still believe it, but then I don't believe it. I don't know what to feel. Where are you, though, on the swing? I'm still 55% believe. Swift. Jet.
Starting point is 00:07:28 But it's a heavy 45. 45 is a heavy to non. But I'm still team. I think they're dating. But man, they're sure showing it off and putting everybody's face hard, which never happens with her. That's why it's just so weird. She is so private about dating. She always
Starting point is 00:07:44 sneaks around, never shows anything. Now, she's in the suite with a bright red lipstick. Get out of here. Maybe it's the guy she's been dating that have wanted to stay private, and he doesn't want to. No way. No way. Yeah, right. If you're dating Taylor, like, look at me. Travis Kelsey, too, has benefited greatly. He's on every commercial now.
Starting point is 00:08:00 I don't even know who he was before this. Yep. He's got a million extra Instagram followers. Yeah, pretty good. They got us. Either way, they got us. Let's see, women don't want to marry a muscular man, but they want to have flings with muscular men. Like Travis.
Starting point is 00:08:16 Women like to get frisky with muscular men for short-term romances. Female participants were shown a photo of a beefy guy and one of a scrawn in your fella, and most of the women agreed that muslin man was way more attractive and that they would have a fling. But research shows that when it comes to finding a long-term partner or a spouse, looks didn't matter as much. as family support. For sure. So they want to hook up with muscles, and they want to be in the same house with Flub.
Starting point is 00:08:44 We're like that, too, though, right? No. I give it a shot, guys. Maybe not. What do you mean? I'm so glad your wife doesn't listen to this show. What do you mean? No.
Starting point is 00:08:56 I just said you like to be in the house with Flub. You say you want to hook up with the... Hot and live with the Flub. Did I say that? Yeah. I. my, I'm good. I'm good in all ways.
Starting point is 00:09:08 I meant like just guys, not me. Guys in general. What are we saying, Amy? I was just going to say you've obviously never hooked up with anybody before Caitlin, so it doesn't matter. No, never. I didn't even know I had a wiener until her. It's true.
Starting point is 00:09:20 A. What? Amy. That's funny. That was funny. A Georgia man got the surprise of his life when he received a speeding ticket for more than a million dollars. Connor Casto tells W. USAV-TV. He was pulled over by State Trooper for going 90 and a 50.
Starting point is 00:09:38 And he was expecting to get a big hefty ticket, but not a $1.4 million citation. He called and said, is this right? And they were like, yeah, that's a correct amount. You need to pay it or come to court. Officials say it's common practice to add a big number to ensure super speeders come to court. That just gets them to court and then they drop it. Or they make them pay another or yes. Got it.
Starting point is 00:10:04 That's hilarious. $1.4 million. What would be funny if it's just like, yeah, screw I'll pay it. And they're like, oh no. Research shows that ice cream, potato chips are just as addictive as cocaine or heroin. Oh, for sure.
Starting point is 00:10:16 Rout, bro. Wait, but how do you know because you haven't done cocaine or heroin? But they say it's very addictive. But they say, you said for sure like you knew. Well, have you ever eaten chips? Yeah. Yeah, you have to eat all of them.
Starting point is 00:10:25 I think they are addicted. I think that you can get addicted to certain things depending on what's in them. But, like, I can go a week without chips. I feel like when you're on heroin, I don't know that you can go weak. Correct. But Eddie for sure knows. He's been on both.
Starting point is 00:10:39 Guys, I want chips all the time and ice cream. But you're not going to show up at work. But you're not going to go break into someone's house. Yes. Of course not, because all I have to do is go to the grocery store. But if they weren't at the grocery store, I'd be looking at my neighbor's house, for sure. You wouldn't go break into someone's house. If it wasn't that easily accessible.
Starting point is 00:10:56 You wouldn't steal to get it. If you can't put down the potato chips, sign says it's not you. It's the junk food. Ultra processed foods are just as a. addictive as nicotine, cocaine, or heroin. And more than one of ten people are hooked. A new analysis of 281 studies across 36 different countries has uncovered that a staggering 14% of adults are hooked. The analysis was led by University of Michigan professor Ashley Gerhardt, who previously created the Yale Food Addiction Scale by applying the same criteria that experts used to diagnose
Starting point is 00:11:23 substance addiction. The criteria includes uncomfortable and excessive consumption, cravings, and continued intake despite potential negative health effects for the New York. Post that. I feel like this is a headline that just gets people to click. But really, I'd much rather be addicted to chips than heroin. Oh, yeah, yeah. But also you can't tell me you never been addicted to heroin. If someone came in now was a heroin addict and had been and they also love chips, I would listen to what they had to say because they'd have an idea of what both of them were. I see what you're saying. But I saw you at your house on Saturday. I took ice cream cones and dude, you don't think anyone saw it, but you took three cones and stashed like you. No, that's not what happened. What do you tell? Did you not take three cones? But I didn't take in stash. I took one and ate it immediately. And then I took another one. It was in my hand.
Starting point is 00:12:09 There's no hiding it. And then I ate it immediately. Like a heroin user. And then you were about to leave. And I was like, Eddie, if you don't take these, I'm going to eat all of them. So I took one more and ate it. No, I didn't put in my pocket's ice cream. And then I ate it immediately.
Starting point is 00:12:21 I do have a problem with sugar. There we go. But I don't. You can also go out of week without it. Yes. And I've had times where I've had no sugar for like a month. But also I can't compare it to heroin because I've never been on heroin. Right.
Starting point is 00:12:32 Right. That's my only point. Yeah. I haven't either. A flight from Panama City, Florida to Tampa had to turn around after it was suspected that a bomb was on board. What? I'm not good. Once on the ground, all 144 passengers were asked to get off the plane while security crews
Starting point is 00:12:45 at a sweep of the aircraft. It turns out the suspicious device in the bathroom wasn't a bomb. Well, I mean, it kind of was. It was an adult diaper. What? So it sounds like they looked a bulb. That's funny. Oh, my.
Starting point is 00:12:57 It was a bomb, Amy. This was a domestic flight. That's from Click Orlando. Well, there was. It just depends on what kind of. a bomb they were talking about. It's a poop bomb. A guy calls the cops because he can't find his girlfriend. She turned off the phone at the movies apparently. From the East Hampton star. On Sunday, police in East Hampton, New York received a call
Starting point is 00:13:12 from a concerned man who said his girlfriend had gone missing. Fortunately, cops were able to ping her phone and track it and found her leaving a movie. It seems she was seen a movie with a friend turned off her phone. And so he freaked out and called the cops. That's bizarre. A two-hour movie? That's bizarre. Like what else is happening with those two? Yeah. I watch a big video on the conspiracy about the lotto always being one in California? Ooh, tell us more. Do you want to know what the conspiracy is? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:40 Yeah. Because I believe of like the top six or seven, like five of them or six of them are from California, some number like that. And what happens is people go, well, it must be because California has more people. California accounts for 8% of all powerball tickets sold. So, no, not really. But what the conspiracy is, because here's the. the four biggest ever. 2.04 billion, California. 1.73 billion, California. 1.586 billion split between Florida, Tennessee and California. 1.08 billion, California. California has the highest
Starting point is 00:14:14 state income tax. So they get the most money if a person wins. Oh, man. Scoob, what are your thoughts on that? That told you, last week I said we need to do an investigation here. That checks out. Yeah, it sounds a little fishy that they win every single time. And then now you those numbers to bring to the table. I bet you the next one isn't from California because we're on their since. It becomes Tennessee. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:39 Yeah, I'm down with that. But it's their state income tax. It's so high and they can make a lot of money doing it. So California wins it. That makes sense. Should we send us out there due to a little investigation? Send lunchbox to buy them at a gas station in California. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:50 I'll go to this place that won last time. Make sure that even sells lottery there. Who's in charge of the big lottery? God. You mean the big one, like if we're born, who dies? No, like the mega millions. Who's in charge of the?
Starting point is 00:15:02 that. The lottery. Probably a company. Really? Just a random company? Well, because they're always like, and this is judged by safety and Johnson and Wilson and the firm brothers. I would imagine that it is a, you can look this up a private company that's probably
Starting point is 00:15:14 also working with the government because the government gets money from it. Yeah. Like education. Wow. I never thought it'd be like just a group of people. I don't think there's a powerball part of the government. Yeah, I don't know. I just thought like states or something.
Starting point is 00:15:31 Mike, his powerball. I think there might be some government thing. The multi-state lottery association. But again, the power ball specifically. Because in some states, you can play Powerball and you can play. What's the other one in Lunchbox? The Mega Millions. And they have those organizations themselves.
Starting point is 00:15:47 If they're government, I'll be shocked. I know the government is involved. Go ahead. So it's a multi-state lottery association. It's a nonprofit, a government benefit association. But what's the Powerball and I'm not asking about that that oversees it? I'm asking about the powerball. It's powerball like company.
Starting point is 00:16:04 Well, it looks like it's a nonprofit. Who owns to make a million if it's different? Probably Mr. Mega. That's what I was thinking. So why don't we like start our own lottery company? You can? If you can gamble. It's called being, you know.
Starting point is 00:16:19 No, like you're in charge of the lottery. I know. It's like gambling. But how would you pay the people? A bunch of investors. I mean, what's our first jackpot? But you can't gamble unless a day. One million?
Starting point is 00:16:29 So we got to find one. million, $1 million, and then once we have that, we sell a bunch of lottery tickets. I'm not sure how it would work. I'll spin the wheels, dude. But Powerball and a lot and million, whatever, those are different entities altogether. Yeah, they're separate. What do you find out, Mike? I mean, it looks like the same people run both of them.
Starting point is 00:16:46 Wow. How is that? We find it. What if we're investigating it now and we figure out where they're stealing? Uh-huh. A lot to America? What's Lotto America? That's what it says.
Starting point is 00:16:58 And don't they say they claim they give back at a percentage to education? Well, they do. Yes, that's what made me think it was the government doing this. The government's involved in it. Yeah, but I thought it was just the government. Who got voted ahead of lotto last election? Yeah, who's that dude? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:17:11 It could fully be fully government lotto, but I just don't feel like that's this in like an office in the government. I've never thought of it before until all of a sudden, I'm like, well, if it's scammy, like who's doing it? And I don't really want to think about it anymore. So if it's government running, it probably is scamy. Okay. You know what I mean? Yeah. We'll find out more.
Starting point is 00:17:34 Let's see here. Powerball conspiracy. Let's see. What else? Ramundo wants to do a round of access to everything, able to go to nothing. What does that mean? Let me do a mid roll here real quick. All right, here is this.
Starting point is 00:17:46 A win is a win. A win is a win. I don't care what you're saying. Yep, that's me. Cliver Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football, or my career in sports media.
Starting point is 00:17:59 Well, somewhere along the game. way, this platform became bigger than I ever imagined. And now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifford Show. The Clifford Show isn't just a podcast. It's a space for honest conversations, stories that don't always get told, for people who are chasing something bigger.
Starting point is 00:18:32 So if you've ever supported me or you're just chasing down a dream, this is right where you need to be. Listen to the Clifford show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more behind the scenes, follow at Clifford and at TikTok Podcast Network on TikTok. There's two golden rules that any man should live by.
Starting point is 00:18:55 Rule one, never mess with a country girl. You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes. And rule two, never. mess with her friends either. We always say that, trust your girlfriends. I'm Anna Sinfield, and in this new season of the girlfriends, oh my God, this is the same man. A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist.
Starting point is 00:19:19 I felt like I got hit by a truck. I thought, how could this happen to me? The cops didn't seem to care, so they take matters into their own hands. I said, oh, hell no. I vowed. I will be his last target. He's going to get what he deserves. Listen to the girlfriends. Trust me, babe.
Starting point is 00:19:39 On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I'm Ego Wode. My next guest, you know from Step Brothers Anchorman, Saturday Night Live, and the Big Money Players Network. It's Will Ferrell. My dad gave me the best advice ever.
Starting point is 00:20:05 I went and had lunch with them one day, and I was like, and Dad, I think I want to really give. give this a shot. I don't know what that means, but I just know the groundlings. I'm working my way up through and I know it's a place that come look for up and coming talent. He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you, which is really sweet. He goes, but there's so much luck involved. And he's like, just give it a shot. He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit.
Starting point is 00:20:34 If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat. Just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be. Right, it wouldn't be that. There's a lot of luck. Listen to Thanks Dad on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Okay, Ray, what does this mean?
Starting point is 00:20:57 Yeah, so I really wanted to go to this Jason Aldeen. He was releasing his album, playing it for everybody, and everybody got invited to his house. So we got that email and right away I kept telling Bayzer, I was like, we have got to go to this thing. And it was something that nobody gets access to. Well, push comes to shove, comes to the time of the event. It's like a five hour thing. I wouldn't have got home until eight o'clock at night. It would have screwed up my sleep the next day. So I wasn't able to go. Access to everything, ability to go to nothing. But it was on you. I know. But I just kept playing in my head. One day, I'd be like, okay, we're for sure going to this, right? I'm going to this. Are you cool with me
Starting point is 00:21:31 going to this? All right. Then it comes to it. I'm like, it's going to up my sleep. It's way out in the country where his house is. You gotta take a shuttle. Then I had to get back to my car, drive my car through Nashville, back to where I live on the west side. I just couldn't do it. Access to everything. Yeah. Ability to go to nothing. But it might just be nice to have a normal job. All those people were able to swing it. Go party. See Jason Aldean's house. I think some people probably sacrifice some sleep for stuff at times. Right, but they also can stay up later. Do you know anybody? We have early morning hours. Remember that guys? We get up really early. Yes, but There is some give and take, right?
Starting point is 00:22:05 Do you enjoy your job? I love my job, but access to everything, ability to go to nothing. But you could have gone. I know, and I'm still kicking myself. It's just like, I don't know. Do you know anybody that went? I heard rumors that Brother Pitts went in the other room. He had fun.
Starting point is 00:22:21 Do you ask him? No, Steve was saying that wasn't that many people there. There was a lot of staff, and they waited on your hand and foot. Dang. I know. I think Ray needs to go to places. Go to things more. He needs to say yes.
Starting point is 00:22:33 and just go. Aren't you doing a thing now where you're just like saying yes and no to things? That's right. I am. I don't want to be in between anymore. I just want to be like,
Starting point is 00:22:41 hey, Amy, ask me to do something. Go. Eddie, do you want to come play ping pong later? No. Okay. How hard was it? I don't get it.
Starting point is 00:22:50 Because this is what I would normally do. Do it again, Amy? Eddie, do you want to come play ping pong later? Oh, that sounds fun. I don't know. Let me think about it. And then I'll call you like in an hour and be like,
Starting point is 00:22:58 I'm not going to be able to make it. I mean, we already know it means, no. If you don't say yes, you're, let me think about it. That means no, you're just trying to be nice about saying that. Right. I'm being nice. Okay, let me do this.
Starting point is 00:23:08 Eddie, do you want to go play golf? Yeah. Let's go. What time? I'll be there. Okay. But you know what I mean? I just don't want to say things just to make someone else feel better about it.
Starting point is 00:23:22 So why did you come to this conclusion in your life? It was something at church they brought up. And I'm like, wow, I do that all the time. Because they said some people do this. And I'm like, that's me. Like 100%. I'm always worried about what other people. are thinking, am I going to hurt their feelings by saying no?
Starting point is 00:23:34 Am I going to feel like I'm pushing, you know, myself to be there or whatever? I don't know. I'm just going to be straightforward. 100% honesty. No. Or yeah, yeah, let's go. You can still be kind about it. You know what Eddie did this weekend?
Starting point is 00:23:49 You can tell me if you think it's Eddie being funny or slightly douche move. It's up to you guys. But I said, hey, we have a friend staying with us over the weekend, one of Caitlin's best friends from Oklahoma. And so I was like, hey, we're going to just. grill some food at the house if you want to come over tomorrow because Sarah's here and we're just going to grill. Nettie's like, yeah, I might come for a bit.
Starting point is 00:24:11 So what was that? So what way? You're not doing your own philosophy. And it was like I might come for a bit. It was both. It was like, I might and only for a bit if I do. That was because I was really struggling with the decision because my family was out of town and I was looking forward to just watching football all by myself at the house.
Starting point is 00:24:28 But then I was like, well, maybe I should go. I should be a little social. It wasn't a party. It was literally just us. I know. And he said, I might come for a bit. But I was like, I have to shower and get ready and do all that. But then that was really me saying like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:24:42 Yeah, that, maybe. But then I thought about it. I thought you were a yes, no guy. But that's if you know what you're going to do. And you weren't even maybe. You were like, maybe I'll come. And if I do come, I'll only come for a bit. That was just the phrasing that you used.
Starting point is 00:24:54 And I said to him, oh, thanks for gracing us with your presence. Yeah, like you're so busy. You'll drop in for a bit. For a bit, like to really give us. a second of your time. I will say, though, I'm proud of you for inviting people over when the Arkansas Razorbacks are playing.
Starting point is 00:25:08 That's huge. Well, no. What? Not exactly how it happened. Oh. Day before, Caitlin's like, we should grill out if Sarah's here. And I'm okay on the grill.
Starting point is 00:25:19 I'm no Eddie, but I'm okay on the grill. And I'm like, okay, cool. And she was like, Oklahoma plays at 11 and Arkansas plays at 11, and we can grill at halftime. And I'm like, oh, man, I know we're not going to win anyway. It's been a bad year.
Starting point is 00:25:31 And so I'm like, fine, I commit to it. And I said, we're going to buy food, though. And she's going to be three of us. And she was like, go whoever. So Eddie and Brett came over. And there are five of us. And Eddie actually went out and grilled, did all the grilling because I was watching. The game was close.
Starting point is 00:25:46 Yeah, but the reason I did that is just because you kept saying like, oh, man, I'm starving. And then you keep watching the game and you wouldn't move. And then you're like, God, I'm so hungry. And then you wouldn't move. And I'd be like, I'll just put it on the grill. So while. Wasn't the intention. I know, but during a commercial, I was like, I'll just put it on a grill.
Starting point is 00:26:04 I was doing that for Caitlin. Oh. Because we were supposed to eat at one. And they were like, I don't know what you do to meet. Tinder, I sing it. Yeah, seasoning, whatever. They were doing all this stuff. And I was like, I'm so hungry.
Starting point is 00:26:17 Like, let's go. Let's get it ready. So then we ate. And then Eddie, then we stayed and Eddie played a shuffle board. Shuffleboard table. Yeah, that was awesome. So he stayed for more than a bit. I did.
Starting point is 00:26:26 I was having fun. Exactly. Honestly, that was just because I didn't know if I was going to do that or not. And then also, too, Kevin invited me to go somewhere. And I'm like, I don't know if I'm going to do all that. But then you said Kevin didn't go. He didn't even call me. He didn't text me or anything.
Starting point is 00:26:41 This is the two examples of you saying, I don't know. And you said you're a yes, no guy. You literally just said, I don't know. What were the two examples? Bobby's. And then Kevin, you said, I didn't know if I wanted to do that. And so you were like, I don't know. And then with Bobby, I may stop by.
Starting point is 00:26:55 And in my house, he goes, Kevin, I'm supposed to get watching football. I'm supposed to go with him. why he's at my house? He's like, but I guess I just won't because he's not there. And I'm like, I don't, why are you telling me this? Well, that was the part of the problem. It's just like I didn't know what I was going to do.
Starting point is 00:27:08 That's why I didn't know to say yes or no. You sound like you have no idea what you're up to. Maybe I still need to work on it, guys. Maybe I'm still working on it. I don't know. Do you know, if someone says like, hey, do you want to come out of the house tomorrow? Do you want to come to the house tonight and watch Cowboys again?
Starting point is 00:27:24 No. Okay. Oh, I'm easy yes or now. Like, you don't have to think about it. at all? I know, and I just say because it eliminates any sort of vagueness with everybody. Oh. Amy asked me something. No. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:39 Well, I guess that's just something I've struggled with. Scuba Steve gave a hitchhiker a ride. Do you guys hear this? No. But I don't know if this is. Where too? Scoba, what happened? So it was, I was going to CVS down the street to get some stuff, and I was in this, like, euphoric high posting, dude.
Starting point is 00:27:56 You were in a euphoric high? Yeah. High? No, no, no, like a euphoric high from St. Jude. Like, you're on this, like, mountaintop feeling like you want to give back. You want to do all kinds of stuff. You're just feeling the moment of St. Jude and wanting to get back in some way. And so I'm in line at CVS over here, this kid crying, and he's trying to get a ride home. It's raining outside.
Starting point is 00:28:14 The lady's like, yeah, the cab will be here in an hour. And I'm like, oh, it sucks. An hour. His kid's got to be here. He's like 14, 15 years old. I'm checking out. I kind of looked over at him and I walked out, and I just felt this energy come behind me. And I was like, I bet that's that kid going to ask me for a ride.
Starting point is 00:28:26 Turn around. the kid goes, hey man, you know, my mom, supposed to pick him up, but you can. Do you think maybe you can give me a ride home? And I immediately was like, yeah, man, no problem. Like I knew him or something. And I'm like, and then I have a moment out-of-body experience where I'm like, why am I saying yes to taking this stranger home in my car?
Starting point is 00:28:43 I'm probably going to get stabbed. This is the end of me. This is my final day here on earth. But I still was like, no, I'm going to do this kid. He needs a ride. I'm going to give him a ride home. And so he gets in my car. He's like, he's fumbling with his ankle.
Starting point is 00:28:56 I'm like, oh, no, here. He's going to stab me. Here we go. He's calling like a knife out of a sock. Exactly. That's what I'm thinking. And then I still, I have the conversation with him. We're talking about all kinds of things like him in high school and all this stuff.
Starting point is 00:29:05 And we drive all the way to his house about 20 minutes from my place. We get to the end. And I'm like, okay, here we go. This is when it happens. He gets out. Everything's totally fine still. And I look at him in the eye and I said, dude, don't you ever effing get in the car with a stranger ever again? You're lucky that I didn't do something to you.
Starting point is 00:29:21 What? I flipped it on him. What? I mean, he was so scared. But I flipped it on him because I wanted him to like, okay, I got out of this okay, and I think it was fine. But I wanted him to also understand that like you can't just ask strangers for rides because what if I was a bad person and I did something to him or he never made it home or whatever. But I wasn't going to do that. But I wanted him to realize that not everyone's going to be like me and make sure you get home safely.
Starting point is 00:29:46 And now your mom can't have to worry about you and you're all good. So get inside the house and never do this again. Yeah, I mean. Bizarring to that, right? Yeah. What in the world? What just happened? Maybe you have that conversation as you're,
Starting point is 00:29:55 doing like, hey look, man, just be careful to you ride with it. I know you had to find it. But maybe it's not right when you're getting out. Like, you're lucky, I don't kill you. But I wanted to be serious. I wanted to resonate with him. Don't you ever effing do this again?
Starting point is 00:30:07 We all agree with the sentiment. And did you have to say the F word? Yeah. Maybe he just has intuition. Maybe his gut was like, man, this dude's cool. And that was my gut. Like, this guy's cool. Let me get him home.
Starting point is 00:30:17 And I just thought for him as a father. But don't you eff and pick anybody up and take him to our house again. Well, I told my wife, I was like, I'm taking this kid home. She's like, what are you doing? call you right now, the kids in the car. We're going home now and just follow my GPS. You had a good heart and good intentions. And it did feel a little weird how Scoba told the story, but I get it.
Starting point is 00:30:35 Yeah. I gave a guy ride to the gas station because he ran out of gas, like, I don't know, like six months ago. And it is awkward when you're driving in there with a total stranger. You're like, this sounded like a good idea. Now it's pretty awkward. It's like a blind day. You never plan to go on. It's somebody that may not be your type.
Starting point is 00:30:49 Uh-huh. Do we want to draw for our... For the game? Yeah. Yeah, we can do it. Yeah, I'd be still, I think so has them. The names for... Oh, Mike hasn't been in their mind.
Starting point is 00:30:56 So here's what we're going to do. We're doing this blank slate tournament. Yes. And because we're playing two on two, the rules will be a little different, but we're going to play blank slate, which is a game that we love to play. And we'll get some listeners teamed up with us.
Starting point is 00:31:10 Are the phones working yet or no? Looks like maybe they are. Let's try it. See if you can just get somebody, but we have to draw the names. All of our teams are going to be drawn. Oh, yeah, it works now. I need your arms around me.
Starting point is 00:31:22 I need to fill your touch. So we're going to draw. The winning team wins $1,000. Are you okay? Yeah. You're yawning right into the microphone. Oh, sorry. The winning team wins $1,000, but you can split it with the listener however you like.
Starting point is 00:31:42 And both people on the team had to agree how much you give to listen. No, the first person that we draw is the captain of that team. Oh. Wait, Eddie, are you playing? Yeah. What do you mean? Well, I mean, you just don't know. Yes, I'm playing.
Starting point is 00:31:55 Okay, good job. There you go. So there are eight of us, and we'll draw two out at a time. First is the captain? First person and the captain of their team will be. I mean, somebody else can draw this too. It doesn't have to be me. Just do it.
Starting point is 00:32:08 Okay. I'm going to be so pissed if I am not the captain and someone decides. No, no, no, no, hold on. If someone decides to give all the money to the listener, I will not be happy. I don't want to draw the names because I don't. Before you do this. It's just money, and I want everything to be super fair. and I'm not looking at them,
Starting point is 00:32:24 but I need somebody to draw the names that's not me. No, you're playing the tournament. You can't do it either. Oh. Have a Lauren come in here. Yes, Eddie. Before you do this,
Starting point is 00:32:32 so does the captain decide how much the split is too? Oh, see, that's not cool. So the captain decides if like, say me and lunchbox are on the team. Yeah. And I'm the captain. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:43 I can say 800 for me, 100 for you, 100 to the listener. No, no. Come on. That's a good wrinkle. I think the captain's got to, It's got to be even between the players in studio. So the team, it's just the cut of the listener.
Starting point is 00:33:00 Got it. Okay. All right, Lauren, draw. And you have to say before the tournament starts. Yeah, yeah. Draw your first name, Lauren. Yeah, just draw it and then hand me whatever you got there. The first person and the captain of the first team is.
Starting point is 00:33:11 I don't give a team. Yes, skip me. Hang tight. Eddie. Yeah! I'm a captain, baby. Let's go. Now, do we want to draw all four captains or do we want to draw his teammate?
Starting point is 00:33:21 My teammate. Teammate. Who do I want bones? Okay. Draw for Eddie's teammate. Bobby, Bobby, Bobby. Eddie, your teammate will be Ray. Okay, that'll work.
Starting point is 00:33:35 Dang. That's going to go. That's actually pretty good. Ray, we're like twins, dude. I would have done better with lunch bar. Team ready, Ray and Eddie. Okay, I love it. Come on.
Starting point is 00:33:45 All right. Next up, and we'll be the captain of their team. How much you're given to the listener? No, not yet. Don't assign anything yet. I'm calculating it right now. Oh, we got two. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:33:53 Just put them all back in there. I'll put them and mix them up again. That's amazing. Go ahead. Abby. I will quit. Oh, wow. Wow.
Starting point is 00:34:07 I will quit. You're the captain of your team. Okay. You'll quit work? I'll quit the game. Come on, much of it. Oh, my God. No, please don't.
Starting point is 00:34:17 Please. Abby's partner will be Morgan. Whoa. Yeah, that's some good energy. Kansas girls. Okay, so we got Ray and Eddie, we got Team Kansas. So who's still left? You?
Starting point is 00:34:29 Look around the room. There's three people. No, there's four of. There's Mike. Oh, I didn't know Mike was playing. Okay. I thought maybe Scooper was playing. I didn't know.
Starting point is 00:34:37 Exactly. Why are you yelling? Here we go. I was asking you a question. You guys have like I'm an idiot. Well. Captain of this team is Amy.
Starting point is 00:34:49 I know it's too short. Amy, if you get that list, don't let them see the writing on it. It's like putting your hand immediately. Practice some blank slate. Over. Okay. Tonight.
Starting point is 00:34:59 The person on Amy's team will be lunch box. Yeah! Wow, that's all the cherry. We're going to do good. Amy, just realize you have to make a decision on how much we're going to give that. I think she already knows. All of it. And then finally.
Starting point is 00:35:17 I don't care. It's just me and you, Mike, right? You can be the captain. I'll give a crap. No, you got to decide the captain. Me and then Mike. There you go. Okay.
Starting point is 00:35:25 Mike, you can be the captain, though, if you want. No, you're good. You sure? Yeah. I don't mind the captain. You should be the captain. You're the captain now. Okay.
Starting point is 00:35:32 You want a captain. Let's be split captains. Okay. We'll do 50-50 captains. Amy, you want to be 50-50 captain? That's not the rule. Mike can be the captain of our team. I don't care.
Starting point is 00:35:43 Guys, you have to decide. I am the captain. I am the captain now. No, Bobby and Mike. I know, but lunchbox is saying, Amy, do you want to split? No, don't listen to him. Mike, do not want the pressure of the money split? Is that why?
Starting point is 00:35:53 Yeah. I mean, you have to go at all. No, you do not. You don't have to. Hey, Ray, we're, come on, man. That's all on you, dude. The original plan was, you can do whatever you want. Captain, Mike, you know what a captain?
Starting point is 00:36:06 Okay, Mike's captain of our team. When are we deciding this? When are we going to announce it with a split? This is going to be problematic. I already can tell on my team. Okay, good. Hey, do we have any of the callers? No, they were all, we shoot them away.
Starting point is 00:36:20 I'm trying to see if we can find one to get on. We can have one. We can have them choose the team now, choose their team. because we had people just go submit at BuyVones.com That closed on Friday, so we have our four. Yeah, and so we just grabbed four randomly. And we had to do it like that
Starting point is 00:36:36 because we can't do it on the phone because of time zones. And if I go, hey, somebody call and be here, well, people in California don't hear that until two hours later, so they don't have an equal chance to get in. Question, is it a double elimination? Is it a round robin?
Starting point is 00:36:49 It is a double elimination. Round Robin. And so what you'll do is we'll play, and blank slate is, played a bit different with more people. But since we're doing two-on-two, we're going to play it like this. So let's say Team Eddie and Ray are playing Team Abby and Morgan, and that's not what's happening yet.
Starting point is 00:37:02 We'll draw the pairings. Oh, that'd be awesome, though. So you'll have like 10, and lunchbox will be like whatever. And Eddie will just try to guess the word he's thinking. You get it right? Boom, point. If it's like big blank. What?
Starting point is 00:37:18 Boobobs. Big boobs. Okay. And Eddie, you would say, no, let me do one for me. Do one for me. Okay. So I'm thinking out. Okay.
Starting point is 00:37:24 Ready bones? Big plan. No, wait. No, no, no. I got it. We're trying to match. Okay, ready? Here we go.
Starting point is 00:37:31 How about... What would you go with that? Rain, Blank. Rain, Forest. See, you wouldn't get a point. What would you get? What would you have written down? Rainforest.
Starting point is 00:37:42 You and I got a point. We're on the same team. But we're not. I don't know who said forest. Me. He did. Oh, who did you say? I said boots.
Starting point is 00:37:48 Oh, I don't think. He said boots. Rain check. See? Okay, okay. It's rude. Cal. Test them out.
Starting point is 00:37:56 I want to see how they're going to play. Oh, you guys on the same TV? Yes, yes, yes. Let's see. Let's see. Come on, guys. Give them a card. Give them a card.
Starting point is 00:38:01 This is like, I'm going to get yelled at. Just big something. Just big something. I'll write mine now. Little. Okay. Little Eddie. Okay.
Starting point is 00:38:12 Okay. See if you guys match. Tiny. Okay. Okay. Come on, Amy. One, two, three. Tim.
Starting point is 00:38:22 What you say? Dancer. Dancer. Oh, Tim. Amy, I would have got a dancer. So you guys wouldn't have got it right. God. You would have got what?
Starting point is 00:38:28 Dancer. We both said that. Tiny dancer. He said Tim. See this behind me? Well, y'all should be on the same three. I guess you're not, though. Sorry, I guess.
Starting point is 00:38:35 I need someone on my way. Hey, try me and write. He's like, Amy is going to be like, uh, rain bath. Like, what? Or forest bath. Eddie, Ray. Okay, ready?
Starting point is 00:38:45 Gosh. I got to think like Ray. Boobes. How about hot blank? Think about it. I got it. Got it. Eddie and Ray only.
Starting point is 00:38:55 One, two. Three, three. Tamale. What? Hot day. In my mind, I was thinking a hot pocket, but you two are the two to get the points. Oh, hot blonde, man. That's not good.
Starting point is 00:39:04 No. Try this again. Any of luck with the calls? We're trying. We're on the fourth one now. Okay. Hey, Ray, think about what I would pick, and I would think about what you'd think. But you just said you're going to think like me.
Starting point is 00:39:15 Exactly. Okay, you're right. You're right. That's true. You're right. I guess we've got to pick a person. Let's go you. Let's go you.
Starting point is 00:39:22 Okay, ready? Go. Funny blank. One, two, three. Guy. This is not good. Funny bone? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:31 I would never say that. Why wouldn't you? I was speaking, Funny bunny. Oh my gosh. Oh, my gosh. You have no chance. I'm screwed.
Starting point is 00:39:41 There's no chance. Who would think funny bunnies? We want to draw the pairings? We can draw the pairings now for the first game. What is funny bunny? So name your team. Hey, Eddie and Ray, what's your team name? I like Reddy.
Starting point is 00:39:52 Okay, team ready. Okay. Abby and Morgan. Do you want Team Kansas or you want Sunflower or something? Well, she's hammering the phone. Sunflower Sisters. You can name it.
Starting point is 00:40:03 Okay. Sunflower Stars. Okay, the Sunflower Stars. What is the Kansas and Sunflower? Yeah, but you should say Sunflower Sisters. You're not on my team. Go late. Sunflower State stars.
Starting point is 00:40:13 Okay. Amy and Lunchbox. Team Disaster. What? That's not positive? How about Funny Bunnies? Funny bunnies. Funny bunnies?
Starting point is 00:40:20 Funny bunnies. Oh my gosh. Oh, the funny bunnies. Is it team disaster or team Funny Bunnies? I would like to stay more positive. Positive. Team Funny Bunny? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:28 Okay. It's a reminder that I won't really say that. Lunchbox, I won't really say funny bunny because I know you're not going to get that. Amy, can you imagine? Lunchbox say, Funny bunny. Like, no. I know. That's why I'm saying I wouldn't literally think that.
Starting point is 00:40:43 With you, I wouldn't. You need to understand. I'm not. Mike, what do you want our team name to be? Oh, boy. Yeah. Winners. Man, you guys are having a tough time deciding things.
Starting point is 00:40:57 Team no fun. Team decisive. There I go, indecisive. We'll be hoggy boys. Razor boys. Yeah, Razor boys. Mike's a cowboy. I know.
Starting point is 00:41:10 He's the boys. How about the... How about you guys just be the boys? Cowback. Oh, oh, cowboys and plow boys. Who's the plow boys? That's good. That's good, that's good, that's good, that's good, Amy.
Starting point is 00:41:26 We'll be team cowboys and plow boys. Okay, yeah. Oh, my God. That's funny. Okay. Cowboys And we're going to practice. Okay.
Starting point is 00:41:37 All right. Come over? Yeah. What? Okay. Hey, so let's, we have a collar on? What's the name? John.
Starting point is 00:41:45 Who? Sean. Okay. We let me know when... I need your arms around me. I need to fill your touch. Why do you guys say that? That's a song.
Starting point is 00:41:55 But why is it coming from? From the dial tone. That's how the song starts with a dial tone. No good. Do I do it tomorrow? That's what I'm so. We had to call the number. Okay, give it one more shot.
Starting point is 00:42:05 Sorry. Do you know where I'm going after this? To the other building we're supposed to be moving to to look at some studio plans. I don't want to move buildings. Yeah. But we have to... I've never been in that building, have you? Never.
Starting point is 00:42:18 Nope, me neither. Never been there. Everybody thinks we work out of there because it has the big company logo on it, but we don't. Ray? Should we hold or no? Should we be 10 seconds. Okay. Other than that, there's a new episode of Too Much Access Up with Well,
Starting point is 00:42:35 Western Kentucky, and the quarterback who was the Sun Belt player of the year preseason, and we're working out with the quarterback, talking to the coach. Eddie asked a funny question at the beginning. He's like, too many people got on the headset and just everybody talking and can't really hear anything because everybody's all like, run this play, run that play. And he's like, yeah, sometimes you can tell them to shut up. So it's pretty good. I didn't know they were all on the same channel.
Starting point is 00:42:58 He says, yeah, they are. Any luck, right? If not, I'm going to jump. I need your arms around me. I need to fill your touch. Down, down, down. Down, down. Hello, caller.
Starting point is 00:43:11 Hello. Hello. We got somebody. Hey, what's your name? Sean. Hey, Sean. Sorry, our phones have been dead all day. Our microphones have been dead for half the day.
Starting point is 00:43:20 So we're struggling with technology a little bit today. However, we are going to do a blank slate tournament, which is a game that we love. Do you ever play blank slate? I haven't, but my daughter has. Okay. So there are four teams here. I'm not even going to tell you who's on the teams. I'm going to give you the team names.
Starting point is 00:43:35 and you pick the team name that you'd like to play for you. And if they win, you win money. Okay. So you have, first of all, you have team ready. Okay, that'll be team one. Ready. Team ready. You have team two is the Sunflower State Stars.
Starting point is 00:43:52 Woo! Guys, don't make noise. We can't let her know who it is. Oh, I thought we were supposed to. No, no, no, no. Team three is Team Funny Bunny, and then Team Four is Cowboys and Plow Boys. Which of those teams sounds to you like? you'd like to have them play for you. Team Ready, the Sunflower State Stars, Team Funny Bunny,
Starting point is 00:44:10 or the Cowboys and Plow Boys? Funny Bunny. Okay. And who would you like to, if you got to pick anybody to represent you, who would it be? Probably Bones. Okay. I'm not on Team Funny Bunny. I'm very sorry. Who would be your second choice? Eddie. No. Good one, but I'm not okay. What about your third choice?
Starting point is 00:44:37 lunchbox. Yeah! Welcome to Team Funny Bunny! Lunchbox and Amy are Team Funny Bunny, and they'll be representing you, and what happens is if they win the $1,000, they get to split it with you however they want, okay, Sean? And maybe get a new cell phone. Possibly. Sean, I'm going to put you on hold. Ray, get all information. Sean's on the team.
Starting point is 00:45:04 Anybody else on, are we good? Just going to check out. Okay. Okay, we're good. All right, we'll get the other ones tomorrow. Amy, Sean sounds nice. Oh, yeah, do you want to pick the team? But she didn't.
Starting point is 00:45:13 Who's the captain? She wanted me in lunchbox. Well, I don't even know. I didn't even make the list. Amy, who's. So hold on. I'm going to do. Maybe I was fourth.
Starting point is 00:45:21 Maybe she went to play. Amy's team funny bunny. I'm going to do. Okay, Amy. Pick a number. Because your team, pick a number one, two, or three. And this is who you're going to play in the first round. I got these numbers written down here in an order.
Starting point is 00:45:39 One, two, or three. Oh, because. Four team four? Oh, you're the captain? No, no, there's three numbers. Three. You're going to pick three. So you have number two would have been the team that was third on my list.
Starting point is 00:45:47 So you'll be playing the Sunflower State Stars in the first round. Oh, that's awesome. Easy dope. Easy dope. And then Mike and I are playing Eddie and Ray. Oh, boy. That's a tough draw. That's like the Super Bowl already.
Starting point is 00:45:58 And it's double elimination. So if you lose, you go and you play the loser. But after you lose twice, you're done. We'll draw the bracket up tomorrow. You and Mike are going to be deadly. You hope. Yeah, because you guys write all the time together. I feel like Morgan and Avi are going to be on the same wavelength.
Starting point is 00:46:13 You think? Yes, of course. Lunch and Amy are your first. Okay, lunchbox, we need to decide. There's nothing in common there. We need to decide if you're going to think like me or I'm going to think like you. Amy, just, we got it. Okay, there you have it.
Starting point is 00:46:27 Strategies in place. All right. All right. We're done with the post show. We'll see you guys tomorrow. Bye, buddy. A win is a win. A win is a win.
