Welcome to Monday show. Morning, studio. Morning. Okay, Amy, what happened with your driver's test, your driver's license? Well, if y'all recall, I believe a couple of months ago, I informed y'all that I needed to renew my license

and that I was, like, coming up, there was going to be a deadline where if I didn't do it by that point, I was going to have to retake the test. And y'all were like, don't book your appointment. Wait, wait till you have to retake the test. And at the time I was like, okay, fine, you know, do it for the show. Like, yeah, let's see if I can take the test now and how I would do.

And now that time has come where I've missed the deadline. And now if I want a new driver's license, because mine has expired, my only option is to take a test. But you didn't do that for us. You just forgot. Now you're blaming me. No, I didn't forget. We said that? Yeah.

Oh, I really. Yeah. I don't believe. I don't believe you purpose. Because you forget a lot of stuff. I don't have the tape so I can't pull it. But surely somebody in here remembers that you're like, Amy, please, please don't go renew it. Take the test.

But I didn't think you would do it. There's no way because you forgot to do the lottery tickets. No, I keep a good calendar. That was last minute. Do we believe she forgot on purpose? No. Because I don't, I mean, maybe. Yes, I forgot on.

It was for the show. Maybe we said it. There's no way. Somebody, anybody. That's a lot. Amy, Amy, I'm going to have you. back, Bobby, you did ask her. No, I know we said it, but I'm saying she didn't, I don't think she didn't do it because of the show. I know we said it. I was like, yeah, this will be fun. I'll do it. I'm just saying the time has

come and now I'm, you know, we talk about regrets sometimes and this is my show regrets. It's like, at the time I was with you and I was like, yeah, that'll be fun. Then I can tell you all like, oh, this is on the test or these are the questions I missed or whew, I barely passed or I passed or I passed with flying colors or I failed worst case scenario. So what do you have to do here? Like take a drop, like getting a with someone and take that test? I don't know all the details yet, but I'm sure I have to take the written test. I would imagine it's just the written. You think I have to physically get in the car with somebody?

Maybe if you have to redo the test. Well, what about the test we took on the show like two years ago? Does that count? We had a legit driver's ed guy. There wasn't the risk of losing our license. But I think I was voted best driver by him. I didn't do that. And when we did our driver test out in the car, didn't you finish last?

No, I think I was first. But he also said, oh, you know, my daughter goes, your daughter goes to my driving school, so I'm going to give you extra points for that. I mean. Oh, did I mind him? Maybe that'll happen in the real one. Oh, maybe I hired him. So then what do you have to do?

You have to go? Do you have a license right now? No, it's expired. I have to go everywhere with my passport. In fact, we went out the night. That doesn't work. Yes, it does. You can't drive with your passport?

Yes, correct. But if you want to, like, we went out to dinner the other night and I ordered a drink. And they were like, can I see your ID? and I had to give on my passport. That works. Okay. You're from Tennessee. You're from right down the road?

It works, but yes, I have to carry my passport. To fly, passport, even if I'm going domestic. To order a cocktail, passport. But you can't drive with it. I can drive with it if I get pulled over. You're physically able to drive. Heck, you can drive without it. I mean, I'm driving, yes, to come to work today.

Illegal. Oh, my gosh. Dang. Dang. Dang. I mean, yeah, no, I'm breaking the law. And it's all our fault. I'm breaking the law every day.

That's what I don't believe. I'm not subscribing to the theory that she purposely. No, it's not your fault. I did it with you. I joined in on the plan. But now that the time has come and I'm fully expired and now my only option. And I got to get a real ID. So I have to get, I mean, I'd have to get a new license anyway because mine's not real.

But now I have to take a test. When do you take the test? Well, here's the thing. My son's 15. Hill Tudor, are you? No, but I was like, is he going to start driver's ed soon? So like, do we go together? Carpool.

I mean, like a non-traditional student. Non-traditional student. Yeah. So I don't know. If anybody else is in my shoes, you're not alone. I feel you. It sucks. We just have to do it.

Or let's see, how long can I last with an expired license? No, that's not a fun game. It's not. How long can I laugh? See, this is how it starts, Amy. This is what you do. And then you're going to blame it on us. Yes.

Because I do think I was encouraging her. But I just don't think she did that on purpose. No, I did. I let it run out on purpose because also I wasn't looking forward to going to renew my life. Now we're getting to it. That's it. Now we're getting to delay that. But now that we're here, I'm like,

why didn't I just do it back then? And it's because everyone's trying to get their real ID. The lines are long. Isn't that over? I think everyone has their real ID. But this back a couple of months ago, those were new stories. It's like lines wrapped around the building. You're never going to get.

your real ID. And so then I tell y'all, I need to go do this because I have to renew it. And then y'all had the brilliant plan that I just put it off. It's us. I guess I'm telling you, I do not take the blame for this. Okay, let me ask my assistance. You can't take the blame. I'm an adult. I made the decision, but. Would you ask some general knowledge driving questions for a driving test? Because my co-host has to take the driving test. We'll do that in a second. I'm going to get the questions we'll ask them to Amy coming up we'll see how you do okay hello Bobby Bones my girlfriend picked out an engagement ring she really loves but it's out of my budget but she wants to get engaged soon so I've been thinking about whether it's reasonable to ask her to help pay for it

since it's the ring she really wants do you think it's okay for a guy to ask his girlfriend to chip in for the ring or should I just wait longer to propose so I can save up for the ring appreciate your honest advice on this signed budgeting boyfriend this is pretty easy one because if you've already talked about the ring meaning it's not going to be a surprise if that is not something that is important to you to do a complete i'm shocked surprise proposal then i don't think it's out of the realm of what's acceptable to go to her and actually present her with this to go this is the ring that you want i can't afford that right now what do you want me to do i don't think that's bad. I'm not saying you have to demand she chips in, but if you're like, I know you want this ring,

I can't afford that right now. So what would you like? I would love to propose sooner than later. I won't tell you exactly when, but I can't afford this ring. So I can take out a loan that we're all going to, we're both going to have to pay back. Yeah. So that's going to be on both of us. Or if you wanted to chip in, that's fine. Or your dad or mom or whomever. Or we can just wait. Like, I will give you the option on what to do. I don't think that that is an unacceptable. option here. Okay. You've grown it a couple times.

Yeah, because I can't see a scenario and maybe I need to think through it longer, but I don't like him asking her to chip in. And I know that's not how you presented it. You presented it more like, hey, this is the situation. So what do you want to do about it?

I guess I would just advise him to wait and save. And what if she's like pressing him though? Because that happens? Like, are you ever going to propose? Yeah, back off. I'm saving money. Say that. Back off, lady.

Yeah. You want this ring or not? So tell her to get your ring, I'm going to have to wait. I don't know because now we're inserting that she's pressuring. Maybe she's not and she can be patient. No, let me read this line again. She wants to get engaged soon. Okay.

He wrote that in the email. Would you be willing to downgrade? Like if he said, if he said like, look, I can afford this. I really can't afford what you want. would you be willing to downgrade? Gosh, I guess, I don't know. The one time I did get engaged, I had no say. I guess I said I liked around and he went to my sister and then he picked out the ring

and that's what I was proposed. Like there was no like, this is the ring I want. So I don't know that I'm that type of person to be like, this is exactly what I want and it must be this. Like I guess I don't want to be really a part of it. I want you to propose to me and me not be involved in that process at all. But she is involved because she's already showed him a ring and that's what the question comes from. If she's already showing it to him, she has expressed her desire to

have it. There's been communication about the ring and the proposal. And I think because there's already been communication, you could continue to communicate inside of it. The only time that I wouldn't do that is if it's all going to be a surprise. If it's all going to be a surprise, you have to make that decision. You're going to wait. You're going to take out a bigger loan. You're going to what you're going to just, but it's not a surprise. I guess if it's that important to her, then yeah, she might be willing to throw downs for it. And maybe she won't. But I do think you, Since there has been communication, you keep communicating about it and go, I know you want the ring, I want to look at it. I can't afford it right now.

Here are the options. We wait longer. I save up. Two, I take out a loan. We're both going to have to pay that back. You make a good point there because she's going to pay for it anyway if they take out a loan. Three, if you want it now, if your parents or you can even do that, your parents want to chip in, I would love to take that if you want to get married sooner than later. Because it's irresponsible otherwise to get that ring.

Yeah. That's a tough one. That is. Because I do not ever want to be asked. You want to pitch in for your ring? Nobody does. I don't think there's a single person that wants to be asked at. And that's not my point. Or his point. It's like he's already in the situation where they're talking about it. So what does he do? And I think you just keep talking about it. I think I've decided to Eddie's question. I guess I would downgrade. Whatever. If I really wanted to get engaged ASAP and get married, then okay, whatever you can afford at the time, let's do it. And then we upgrade later. If that's important to me. She really wants that ring. She wants that one.

She really wants that. I know. I know. Yeah, I would just keep communicating because that barrier has already been broken. So have at it. Good luck. Let us know what happens there. We were in Las Vegas over the weekend for IHeart Radio Music Festival.

It's a great time. I'm exhausted. I get so dehydrated. I was in the airport yesterday. And leaving Vegas, that airport situation is the worst because it's a Sunday. It's in the morning. So everybody's trying to get out. And everybody's also exhausted.

dehydrated. So it's just a mess. And you get there and there are lines and shout out because those big lines move relatively fast. But I got, I don't know, 10 minutes into the line on my nose started bleeding. Oh, from the air from just being in Vegas. Dryness. It sucked. It would not stop bleeding. So I take a toilet paper and I've had nosebleeds my whole life. And so I just cram it up my nose. And I saw a couple people that I knew while at the airport. And I've, I didn't forget, but I just don't think about it. And they're looking at my nose and they want to tell me have something in my nose, but then they're wondering,

do I know I got something on my nose? Yeah, it was a mess. Yeah, just to own it at that point. It was a mess. But the festival was great. John Fogarty is the lead singer of Creedons Clearwater Revival. They were massive in the 60s and 70s. He's 80 years old.

And he's a legend, but he's also 80. But he went up and he sang like he was 30. It was crazy that an 80-year-old could go that, hard. Offspring. I was telling my wife last night. I was like, I watched the offspring. She's like, I don't know who that is. And I was like, yeah, you wouldn't. You know, because she's, what, 33? Something like that. She was like, yeah. And then I tried to sing her a couple songs. I said, you wouldn't know the early stuff. You got to keep them separated. But you may know, like, their later stuff that was hit, like, all the girl says pretty fly for a white guy. She's like,

Nah, and it sounds stupid. And I was like, okay, fair enough. My niece is 21, and she loved everybody. Like, she thought, like, from the, even the people she didn't know. Like, John Fogarty, she doesn't not know who that is. It's great. She stayed from start to finish. She did?

that I'm not the luckiest person in the world and so I go and I'm like okay I have 400 bucks so I go to the craps table and I put 400 bucks down I'm about myself I didn't see anybody unless we're doing shows the whole weekend I was by myself a whole weekend and so I go and I put the money down

on the craps table and I win I win some and I'm like a $1,600. So this was you trying to prove? Well I was just documenting it to show So what did it prove? It proved that you won. It proved that I was.

I won that one time. So the next day I go back and buy myself again, and I put $400 on a slot machine and lose all $400 of it. Gone. Okay. So at this point... Not the slot machine. Okay, but luck's luck.

Your luck is over there at roulette. The tables. At this point, I'm like, okay, so I was up $1,200 at that point. So then $400. So I'm up $800. But all I have in my pocket is like $150, $160. I go back to the craps table and I went like $2,200. And so I'm way up at this point.

Okay. Now, here's where luck separates itself and winning separates itself from just being lucky. I didn't go back the whole rest of the weekend. Why am I going to go back and lose it? Because if I'd have gone back, I would have lost it, no doubt. So that was me making the conscious decision to take the money that I had won and not gamble it back, because that's how people lose money. I'm sort of confused. So you came out ahead.

Of course. Correct. So you won. Because I stopped. Most people leave Vegas in the negative. Because they don't stop. Have these guys? Most people don't win.

anything. Had these guys... They lose. Yeah, everything. This guy found money on the ground. Don't listen to them. They found me. I did. I found a hundred dollars. And then what did I do with it? I went to the roulette table, bet on red. Like, doubled it up. No, a hundred dollar bill. That's what I'm saying. So there's luck everywhere.

That was lucky. It's just what you do with it. So did you turn it? What did you turn it into? 200. Sweet. And then I lost it. See, had he just quit. You'd have been like, oh, so lucky. True, true. But you've like won a lot. A lot, dude. I know you have to play a lot to win a lot.

I didn't play a lot. And lucky for you, too, you're smart. So you quit. I don't think that me being smart is lucky. I think that's going through a lot of crap and losing it all back and then deciding, hey, the best thing for me to do is just kind of to shut it down. But it was a great Vegas, Iheart weekend. Just generally speaking, the show is awesome.

A triangular red and white sign means What? A triangle, oh, a triangular red and white? I have all the questions. I don't have the answers. Like a triangular

yellow is warning. Hazard? Oh my God. A triangular red and white sign. A triangle red and white? Yeah. Do you know the answer? Red and white.

I would think that's do not enter. No. It's not. What is it like? It is yield. It's just upside down. Oh, you didn't say upside down triangle. They're going to take my license to.

I'm going to do this. Don't play this game, man. Someone's going to show up and take my license. Triangular red and white. Upside down triangle. I can't picture it in my head. Yeah, it's just turn the triangle upside down and it says yield on it. A flashing red traffic light means what?

Stop, like a stop sign. And then turn. Yeah, stop completely right. And then proceed? Yes. I would think that's what that one is. Or then go straight. Yeah.

What does a solid yellow line on your side of the road mean? It means solid. Is it yellow? or white. Solid yellow means I got to stay in my lane. I can't cross. Like in life? Has to be dotted. Stay in your lane. Yeah. Yeah, stay on my side of the street. What does a solid yellow line on your side of the road mean? Don't cross. What is your answer? Don't cross. Stay on your side of the lane. Yeah, I would think it means no passing. Yeah, like don't pass. Yeah. No passing. But that's the same thing. If you pass, you're leaving your side of the street. You're crossing.

Okay, you know, fair enough. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Next up, what's the legal blood alcohol concentration limit for most adult drivers in the U.S.? I do not know, but I hear 0.08 a lot or 0.8 or would that be deadly? Is it 08 or 8? 0.08. There you go. That's the answer?

I believe so. I mean, that's what I would guess. Point 0.08. When approaching a school bus, With flashing red lights, what do you do? Stop. And? Immediately, until it goes away.

I don't mess with that. Stop and remain stopped until the lights on the bus stop flashing. Nailed it. That's that one. If you miss your exit on the highway, I'm going to give you some options here. You should stop and back up carefully. Keep on? Could be that one.

I'm not going to say that's never happened. Make a U-turn in the median Go to the next exit and turn around Or pull onto the shoulder and reverse there Go to the next exit and turn around That's got to be okay How about this one? When parallel parking your vehicle's wheels

Should be within how many inches of the curb What? That's tough As close as possible without damaging the rims Or just like an itty-bitty scratch When you fill it, any of any scratch, you know you're just close enough. Yeah. I've never, I didn't know there was a measurement, but.

Let me give you some options. Sure, I take options. When parallel parking, your vehicle's will should be within how many inches of the curb. A, six inches, B, 12 inches, C, 18 inches or D, 24 inches. Six inches? It's B, 12 inches. A foot. But it could be 12.

Well, you know what, it could be six. You know what? If you're six, you get bonus points. If you're six, you are skilled. And I am a talented parallel parker. I'll give you one more. If you are involved in a minor collision with a parked car, this is for you specifically, and you cannot find the owner. What do you do?

You leave a note or wait. Can I give you the options? Yes, please. A, drive away if the damage is small. Hey. Wait for the owner to return. call your insurance only and let them know or leave a note with your contact information.

I'm going to say sometimes people won't have the time to wait for the owner to return. So leave a note with your information. That's correct. Okay. You want one more? Yes. I feel pretty good.

The two second rule. The two second rule is used for A, timing yellow lights, B, parking on a hill. C, avoiding tailgating ticket. or D, keeping enough following distance.

Well, following distance and tailgating, same thing, right? I'm confused by that. Do they hand out tailgating tickets? I don't know you can get a tailgating ticket. I don't know. So it must be, D, it helps you know when you're falling too close. Yeah, I'll give you one more because this is a good one. Okay.

When driving in heavy rain and your car begins to hydroplane. Do you, A, accelerate slightly, B, take your foot off the gas and steer straight. C, turn sharply to regain control, or D, break hard immediately. Oh, no. Don't break hard immediately. Let's eliminate that one. Okay. Don't accelerate.

I think nurse. I think woman. That's unfair to me. I don't like me for that. I almost said her. But Grady was driving by and sees everybody surrounding the person. So he's like, hey, stop the car. Let me see what's up. And he goes over. And so they jump on him and give him CPR for 10 minutes. Wow. 10 minutes. Until the first responders were able to show up, got him to the hospital. He ended up living. So big shout out to him for stopping. He didn't even know what.

what it was. He just saw people surrounding something and they were like, let's stop and see what this is just in case. Turns out just in case was somebody was in a situation that he could help and then they stayed for 10 minutes and gave CPR. Crazy. That's from KCTV 5 and big shout out to Grady, the ICU nurse. It also says his friend and the friend help, but they don't ever put the friend's name in that. Oh, they just get Grady and go. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There you go. That's what it's all about. So you made someone's dream come true accidentally.

Yeah, I mean, that's what I do is I'm out here making dreams come true. They showed up in L.A. without tickets just with the hope and prayer getting on. And what do you know, September 17th, the wrong day of the week, the wrong day of the month that I was supposed to be there. So they got in to see, come on now. You're so thoughtful, man. Lunchbox bought tickets for the wrong day. I guess got them. You don't buy them. No, you don't buy them. You just sign up online, dude, and you just boom.

And I was just excited. I was scrolling down. I saw the 17th and I boom, I hit it. So now what's happened? Have you got tickets for the real date? Well, guys, I got an update. I said, you know what? I'm going to make the price and price is right. Be sick of me. They are going to be so tired of my face. They're going to be forced to call my name to come on down. They put out tickets for October. And I got tickets for October 15th. I got tickets for October 16th. I got tickets for October 17th. We're going back to back to back, Jack.

You saw the comments about how people were upset that you were teamed with Andy. I love Andy Richter. I'm a massive fan. What are your thoughts on how people are reacting to you being teamed with Andy? I saw the comments and I thought my first thought was, I really hope that Andy isn't disheartened by reading this because for me, I think Andy is the best partner for me. I truly do. I have got to that point in my life and also I've done the show now for 19 seasons. I know where my expertise are and I know what I love to do. And I really love to see the improvement and the growth in my partners. And that's what I'm probably best at. I'm probably best at bringing out people that are not dancers, that are. are potentially even nervous to do the show and to give them the best possible experience. And trust me, all the pros give their partners any such an incredible experience and the best

one that they could possibly do. But Andy to me is the best partner. I love being partnered with the funny guys. I love being partnered with the personalities. I love being partnered with the people that have this special quality about them. And so I'm thrilled and I always was thrilled that I had Andy as a partner. People will wonder what you're saying to your partner while you're dancing. What are you saying to your partner while you're dancing on television? Well, everything. I'm saying the whole choreography. So we just, Andy and I just did our wide shot. And you remember that, Bobby. That's that part in the week where you get that wide angle video of your entire dance to music so that the directors can map out all the cameras. So we just did

our video where we did the dance to music. And you can hear the music, but you can hear me screaming on top of the music for the most part. And it'll be things like Twinkle, toes at one point because it gives him the visual of like fast feet. I say tall, hand on head. I'll say quick. I'll say have fun because there's a moment where I asked him. I said, what does this step? How do you become more free in this step? And he says, oh, it makes me think of having fun. So every time we get to that step, I say, have fun. And he does it. Like he really comes alive. So I need to keep giving him and usually all my partners a lot of structure during the show, during the dance by, you know, vocal cues.

And it helps them. If I ever really stop that, it becomes a bit of a problem. Had tire marks all over it. He said $20 bill after $20 bill and a cashier's check. So he took a picture of the check. Put it on social media. Does anyone know who this person is? They all responded, yeah, that's so-and-so. she owns the local daycare. Man, he goes to the daycare, gives her cash.

She is completely excited that her money was found because she had lost it. Wonder what was for. Probably. They don't say. Probably for, if she like owns the daycare. Deposit. And there's a cashier's check. So it's got to be, yeah, not like drugs or anything.

I don't know, man. She was just excited to get it back. I think she was like relieved. I think relieved would be the word. Yeah. And cash. Like, who returns cash? And to go the extra mile to take a picture.

and be like, I'll be honest, I wouldn't do, I wouldn't do all that. I feel like Bernie. There was no need for that honesty right now. We just could have enjoyed this, sorry. But I would take it to the convenience store and be like, hey, man, you might want to hold this in case somebody comes back. Would you have turned it all in with all the cash? Yes, that 100%.

But social media, I'm not taking a picture. Does anyone know who that is? Yes, you would. But it's not about the cash. You wouldn't say how much cash is in it. No chance. Yeah. Because then everyone's going to claim it.

This story comes us from Alexandria, Virginia. The CEO of redevelopment and housing for the entire city decided, you know, I've been putting people in new homes. I'm helping people get back on their feet. I should get a new home myself. So she assigned one of these free homes to herself and moved on it. Oh, that's one way to do it. It's a bonus.

Yeah. She might have had a bonus structure in her own mind for what she was doing. It's kind of tempting, too, you know? Like, you're building houses for everyone else. It's like if you're cooking burgers. Get a burger for yourself. You get a free burger. That's what I hear.

I love you, Farrell. Thank you for everything. And they just said, hey, we have this idea to try to bring grace to the world. We think it's a time where music will bring people together. We want to bring a lot of different kind of stuff

together and bring a little glory. So I said, I'm in. Do you get a little nervous before that performance? I get nervous before every performance, so before that one I had diarrhea. You know what I'm saying? If that's a scale of how bad nerves were, if I'm normally just a little nervous, imagine that one I was like, dude, it was bad. It was like uncorked. That's an odd scale.

But people will relate. They'll be like, yeah, I've had diarrhea nervous before too, you know. Before you do a show, a big show, it could be any show. Like, what do you enjoy listening to? What gets you in the zone? I can't believe we're talking about poop. You talked about, not we. Not we, you.

You got a mouse in your pocket? You ever heard that in the South? Yeah, exactly. I have heard them. You know what I listen to now before, and we sing it every time we walk to the stage is, oh, happy day.
