Starting point is 00:02:32 I have to remember to put. I got to do two things. One, I got to put my coyote video up. I keep forgetting it too. I got to book my flight to Iheart. Yes, you do. Have you? Well, I emailed.
Starting point is 00:02:43 Or are you saying that to me because you haven't either? Well, no. I was, well, sometimes I like to see what time everybody's leaving because I try to match what you're doing because we're working. If I book something and then you're like,
Starting point is 00:02:57 wait, no, I'm not. Even until then, I'm like, oh, shoot, I got to change my flight. So the booking person, I was like, hey, just let me know what Bobby's done. And she emailed me Friday. And she was like, hey, he hasn't done anything if you want me to go ahead. And then I was going to text you, but then I was like, eh, I don't want to bother you with it because it was the weekend. I don't care about that. Well, I know, but here we are.
Starting point is 00:03:17 So you guys got emails? Yeah. It keeps getting one worse. And then Ray Mooner goes, wait, I heart festival is happening this year. Because I haven't got an email to book anything. Wait, did you get an email from Tom? No. Maybe you're not invited.
Starting point is 00:03:31 Okay, which is fine. I'm okay with that, but somebody has to tell me because, like, I go every year. Yeah. With everything being cut, I don't know this for sure, but I would imagine if you didn't get an email, you're not invited. I would totally understand that. But I would need, like, confirmation on that. Yeah, well, I would ask Goob and Steve after this. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:03:50 You know what? You can have mine. No, no, no. I'm not saying that. No, no, seriously. You can go on my place. No, no, they need you there. They don't really need me there.
Starting point is 00:03:59 I don't know. You bring a lot to the table. I mean... That's interesting. I'll ask you, yeah, because I haven't got anything. Also, I might need you to go out there. Okay. I mean, if that's the case, let's go.
Starting point is 00:04:12 And if that's the case, I might have to pay for you to go out there just because I put in a couple asks for some guest stuff out there. Oh, for interviews? Some can be sports. Some could be music. It just depends. And those are pretty elaborate. set out. I don't know. I don't know. I got to do that today. Try to remind me. Oh, I will. I will if you're cool with that. I, because I got the email.
Starting point is 00:04:36 I kept it open on my computer. That's how you remember stuff. You keep a file open? A tab. I have lots tabs open. Wow. What do you mean? It's not the old. It's not my only system. No, I just, that would ever drive me crazy. I keep, I mean, I keep a list or I put something in my calendar. I think I have multiple things. If I'm being honest, I don't think I know. I have multiple things. I'll keep it open. I'll also email myself. I'll text myself. I'll put it in my calendar. That's a lot. I mean, I have to have a lot of different ways. Yeah. I mean, we all have different ways. I keep notes. Like I have on my top thing,
Starting point is 00:05:10 book my flight for I Art Festival today. And then I have all the movies I'm going to do tomorrow for Tuesday. Tuesday. Thank you. And I have to call this person today, but different, but just not tabs. And that's on your notes out. my to-do list. And then I love a good paper to do, so I transfer to a piece of paper. And I like to put a little box next to it. And then if I make another piece of paper, then sometimes I combine the two. You know what I like, the Post-Notes?
Starting point is 00:05:41 Oh, yeah. Like, there's something about a posted note that I love. Maybe it's just writing and ripping it, you know, riding it, putting it somewhere, and then being like, I'm done with that, and then throwing it away. Yeah. I just am afraid that it gets thrown away without me noticing and throwing it. it away. Yeah, I see that. I give you a full story, a few stories, some of the biggest stories of the day. My allergies are killing me. That's number one. You? You? Uh, they're not terrible.
Starting point is 00:06:05 You're in Texas, though. Yeah. When I go to Texas, it kind of clear up a little bit. And when they get so bad, like, I can just feel like, I feel, my face feels so full that I feel like I talk funny for a minute, just because everything feels off. Number one, three killed and seven wounded in a shooting at an Idaho in an Outberger. I saw that. They have footage of that. Three people were killed. Seven others were wounded when a gunman opened fire at an in-and-out in-and-out in Twin Falls, Idaho on Saturday afternoon before killing himself. Authorities identified the shooter's 24-year-old Chad Williams who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police are still working to figure out what led him to open fire and say his family is cooperating with the investigation. An off-duty police officer and a civilian fired back at the gunman, and police believe their actions drove him from the scene and prevented more people from being hurt.
Starting point is 00:06:51 Two of the injured were treated and released in a local hospital. Oh my gosh I saw the headline of I think the CEO or president in and out was talking about it yeah that sucks
Starting point is 00:07:03 so bad you're just going to eat a burger just a normal Saturday afternoon and that's what happened Do you ever think that when you go to the mall? I don't
Starting point is 00:07:12 but I can understand why you would it's so prevalent I can understand why you would I'm like you just hear of a random Saturday where there's a mall shooting and I'm like
Starting point is 00:07:21 well you know where I think about it the most and it only happened one time in my memory is the movie theater. Where the guy came in during that man or the Joker or whatever and shot everybody. Yep. My wife was at a school when there was a school shooting. They didn't go into her classroom, but there was a school shooting at her school.
Starting point is 00:07:40 Yeah. That's crazy PTSD from it. I bet. People got shot, I mean, at her own school. Washington Wildfires spread to over 5,000 acres. Three fast-moving wildfires, burning near Spokane have destroyed hundreds of homes and forced hundreds of people to evacuate. I mean, I'm going two crappy ones in a row here, but this is what's happening. My podcast producer lives right there. He texts me last night because we do stuff on Mondays.
Starting point is 00:08:08 And he's like, hey, he's like, our bags are packed. Like, we're ready to go in case we need to. Because, and like he posted video of the, I mean, it's so smoky. And the road like to his house is burnt up. but then there's like some other way. I don't know. It just was scary to have, he's like, we got the dogs ready. We're all packed, but thankfully we haven't had to leave yet.
Starting point is 00:08:33 All three fires started Saturday afternoon during dangerous windy conditions and have destroyed or damaged an estimated 600 buildings. And state officials said about 4,000 structures were threatened. Weather forecasters issued their highest level fire danger, warning for parts of eastern Washington and Oregon,
Starting point is 00:08:51 and zero containment as when I printed the story off. Gosh. You know what makes these so much more impactful now is that there's video to everything you're talking about. Especially a video from inside. From inside and you see everything. Like back in the day, you'd hear a story, you'd read about it. You're like, oh, well, that sucks.
Starting point is 00:09:07 And then you move on. Now it's like, I have an image of what you're talking about. Yeah, and even more than just in the news back in the day, then once they could fly over and show us video, that became a different thing. But once you can drive in and you see the people on TikTok, talking driving in to actually try to help and save? You're right. You're right. And yeah, you always saw the aftermath of like, oh, there's police cars, there's tape. But now we see
Starting point is 00:09:29 the event happening. Like this guy, the shooter, we saw him in action. We saw everything he did. This fire, I've seen close-up images of this fire. It's crazy. And finally, the U.S. and Iran are set to restart talks this afternoon. President Trump said yesterday one day after he called off the plan strikes of Iran. These talks and these agreements and not agree. It's happened like 18 times. Gas, though, has gone up a full dollar since the Ron Moore started. A full dollar, a gallon. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:59 A full freaking dollar. No. And then if, I mean, you know, I'm like what, 15, 20 gallon tank? That's 20 bucks more. So, yeah, it'd be nice if they would just not have that. Crazy. Okay, well, man, that's three kind of sucky ones, huh? Yeah, yeah, not good.
Starting point is 00:10:16 I got nothing else, though. Oh, okay. Okay. No, that's just what, that's just the news. It's just the news of the day. So there you have it. This is more, tell me something, suck. But leprosy cases are on the rise in Florida.
Starting point is 00:10:31 That was biblical. Yeah, what? What even is that? Yeah. 17 cases of Hanson's disease, also known as leprosy, continuing a recent increase in locally acquired infections, which they say are linked to armadillos. So we got lettuce.
Starting point is 00:10:49 He's given us diarrhea, and armadillo's given us leprosy. The disease can cause serious complications if left untreated. It is rare. Most people are naturally immune. Some are not, but you got to get on the antibiotics quickly. But how about that, armadillos? Well, I'm reading about leprosy right now. It says every two minutes someone's diagnosed with it.
Starting point is 00:11:15 Like currently? I mean, so website. It's not from ancient times. That's the one where back in the day they would put islands, right? Like people all on an island and then only certain doctors would live on that island to take care of them. Oh, wow. 95% of people have a natural immunity, but that doesn't mean people don't get sick from it and die. But it is, this one is just armadillos.
Starting point is 00:11:38 So are they touching them, do you know? Like, what are they doing stuff? I think so. I don't think they're hooking up with them. If so, those people need to have leprosy. If you're getting leprosy from hooking up with their armadillo, I support you getting leprosy. There's a kid. He's in first to grade. He was suspended for biting a sandwich into the shape of a gun. Okay. He was suspended?
Starting point is 00:11:59 Yep. And I think this is one of those Newmont stories where I'll give it to you first. The Georgia family says their six-year-old son with autism keeps getting punished at school. John Medina, a first grader at the elementary school was suspended last year after biting a sandwich into the shape of a gun and pointing it to a classmate during lunch. his mother hired a former special education director to help the family who said a six-year-old without autism likely would not even understand why the sandwich shape was inappropriate Atlanta News It's a tough one
Starting point is 00:12:30 It's a tough one because we understand a sandwich is not going to shoot anybody Right But if there are rules that say you It doesn't have to be a sandwich, you can't be anything Cut a piece of paper and then hold it as a gun at school Because of all the school shootings, okay But then you add in they're saying he's autistic Again, this is one of those that you have to treat
Starting point is 00:12:50 and understand that there's a lot of nuance involved here. School records show has been disciplined more than 30 times since 2023, including 14 suspensions for things like pointing a water bottle and making gun noises and drawing a picture of a turkey being shot. Okay, so it's a bunch of stuff about guns. Okay. Because I was going to say the sandwich, I mean, that sounds pretty, like, pretty talented. I know.
Starting point is 00:13:11 I do. Honestly, what I was thinking was did he take his tongue and do the gun hole, like the finger hole. I didn't say that out loud yet, but same. Like, that's got to be hard. Mm-hmm. If he has, again, I only know what I'm reading here, but it feels like if this is a continuing problem and he's doing this around other kids,
Starting point is 00:13:33 maybe you have to find an environment that's not around as many kids until they can fix whatever's happening. What do you think about that? Yeah, I mean, it just sounds like, I don't think the kid means any harm, but unfortunately with this pattern that's happening, there's something bigger happening here, and I just hope they can get him the help that he needs to
Starting point is 00:13:53 to behave properly at school. You're going to a crazy one, and I'm going from memory here, so it's going to be a little off. A teacher was working on a lesson plan, and I think she was also chatting on her computer, like lunchbox does, and one of the kids came up behind her and deleted the lesson plan being funny, and she made a joke to somebody going, hey, I feel like I want to shoot these kids, and they came up and arrested her. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, you can't say that. She was just texting, but she was just texting to somebody.
Starting point is 00:14:22 She wasn't really going to do anything. Right. She was just talking amongst a private conversation and then someone, I don't know, Big Brother sees it and comes in. I wonder if they have like a flag, if like gun, shoot, bullet. They're watching everything we write anyway. I know. But I mean, they probably don't get alerts for just normal back and forth words.
Starting point is 00:14:43 But if certain words pop up, they probably get a, it triggers a. notification of sorts. So what are you thinking? That was too, like, too harsh? Because I mean... I'm thinking I read that story briefly and I need to probably read more of it, but me hearing that
Starting point is 00:14:59 story about the kid chewing the sandwich into a gun made me think about that story. So I'm thinking my mind goes, do you see it? A student teacher was arrested after a student deleted her lesson plan. She vented in a private message by asking if she should shoot the student.
Starting point is 00:15:14 Asking. And, huh? She was assy. Whomever she was chatting with like her friend. Like it's a joke. I'm not saying that's a good joke. No. But it was clearly a joke and it was in a private message.
Starting point is 00:15:26 Illinois student teacher allegedly commented about shooting student. Okay, I have it now finally. She was making a comment. Arrested 22-year-old Kristen Volpe. According to the deputy, she commented on shooting a student in a chat with friends after a student came up and closed her laptop during class. she sent the message to friends asking jokingly if she should shoot the student
Starting point is 00:15:49 by the way you can't do that but also she's a student teacher didn't say student teacher I'm just reading it because she's 22 she's a student teacher so she needs to grow up a little bit she's immature deputy's interviewed her and came to the conclusion that she made the comment out of exasperation
Starting point is 00:16:04 and no intentions to harm anybody I also would agree with that yeah right this is one of those where okay first I want to know how'd you know she wrote that you're watching everything we write duh secondly she didn't mean it so should there be some sort of light slap on the wrist?
Starting point is 00:16:19 Yes, but should we ruin her life for it? No. And that's the definition of nuance, right? Like everything's not just black or white. Yeah, she got a, her student teaching, she's got a big lesson. No, she was like, to her friends, like, hey, I have a gun in my backpack.
Starting point is 00:16:34 What should I do with it? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, that's different. Agree. But it's just sort of like, you know, sometimes when you're having a rough day and it's like, oh, shoot me. Well, I was going to say shoot me.
Starting point is 00:16:44 Oh, shoot me. Oh, shoot. I've said both All of that's weird Or that time we were going on Price is Right in Vegas And I was like if you get picked I'm going to kill you
Starting point is 00:16:55 Oh yes Then I got picked And they didn't even arrest her Right But also I wasn't going to harm you Yep That's all weird That's a wild one
Starting point is 00:17:05 Yeah That's a wild one Okay We were talking earlier About Myspace Trying to relaunch And so Mike has found through like web.archive.org.
Starting point is 00:17:18 My MySpace page, here's what it says. It says my name, Bobby Bones. And you'd put a quote in mine says, Lamer than Ryan Crest. Good one. Mail 26, Austin, Texas. Last login, 415, 2006. So this is from 2006.
Starting point is 00:17:37 Wow. So I was 26 then. Bobby's latest blog, because I wrote blogs all the time. I wonder if you can click, if I click on this blog, will you, uh, let's see, will your computer get a virus and die? Do you a right click. No, I'll let you do that.
Starting point is 00:17:58 Mike's trying to open blogs. No, you can't click stuff. Okay. So, I have a blog called Random. I have a blog called Prom Pictures, which I'm assuming is probably like a second chance prom. Has to be. Yeah, because the two below that, once is tickets on sale, one says second chance prom, one says mailbag.
Starting point is 00:18:17 I go down a little bit about me. Here's Lunchbox Sarah and I singing on Fox. I don't know what that video is. This is pre-you. But not much pre-me, because I joined in 2006. You did? Remember? We just celebrated.
Starting point is 00:18:37 Yeah, good point. It'd be 4.15. Okay, so I'd be before 415. Yeah, so I joined in July. Okay. Seven. Seven. A few months later.
Starting point is 00:18:47 Okay. Oh, my life would change in three months. Who would know? Who would know? And I guess this now explains why I wasn't ever in the top eight. Yeah. It says, Bobby Bones here,
Starting point is 00:18:59 listen to my radio show on 967 Kiss FM, Monday through Friday. Watch me on TV every afternoon from 5 to 7 p.m. on Emmy television. Eddie produced that show. He wasn't doing the radio show, but I was doing that two-hour afternoon television show then. read me in Insight magazine because I would write articles for Insight Austin.
Starting point is 00:19:19 You had that first email that we ever exchanged that was in that signature. Yes. So when I looked back to see what the exact day was that I joined the show, I checked it off emails. You and I were exchanging and you were emailing me encouraging me
Starting point is 00:19:32 for my upcoming first day on air. And it was. It was signed Bobby Bones, 967 Kiss FM host of the Bobby Bone show, host of Emmy Television, and then contributor or writer and Insight Magazine. You had your whole signature on every email. And then there are videos you could put down here.
Starting point is 00:19:51 I said in this video, here's Sarah and I dancing and talking about the show. Ha, ha, ha. Here's another one. Bobby Bones Cribs. In this one-minute version of my house, I got robbed pretty soon after that, I think. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:09 Probably not smart. Did we put that up there? Let's see. Movies. I didn't have anything. Television, Simpsons, David Letterman, SportsCenter, Cosby Show, Fresh Friends. That didn't age well. Who's the boss?
Starting point is 00:20:24 Any 90s sitcom, Ed. Ed the horse? No, that's Mr. Ed. I think there was a show called Ed. Oh. Groups. I was in Insight Magazine, Austin Ranglers, which I think was a arena football team. GizFM Austin.
Starting point is 00:20:44 My top eight was co-host Sarah. producer Barry Lunchbox The Raging Idiots Because Eddie and I started playing music Even before he joined the show That's four
Starting point is 00:20:58 Softball Ricky That's five Intern Megan Six My old college roommate Jennifer Seven And Kiss FM sales girl
Starting point is 00:21:08 Monica eight You want anything else I have details here about myself Here for networking I'm dating friends. Not dating friends, but it's three different things. I'm straight.
Starting point is 00:21:24 I live in Austin. I'm six foot tall, athletic. You put six foot? I would not? Because I've grown in it since then. This is funny. You have to admit. I probably measure myself with that shoes on.
Starting point is 00:21:41 You have to admit, this is funny. Somewhere in the last 20 years, you've grown. I think I've admitted. We know you've grown. emotionally. I think I'm wearing shoes when I measure 6-1 and that's why I get to say that.
Starting point is 00:21:53 I know, but now you would never let that live somewhere. Sick foot? Take this down, Mike, this whole page. You're going to buy MySpace and take it down. Wow, wow. I wonder when you made this switch on paper.
Starting point is 00:22:04 Probably after Myspace. Or that's probably the last time you had to put your height somewhere. I mean, besides your license or when we talk about it on air, like where else do you put your height? And there was like a comment section people would leave comments or something.
Starting point is 00:22:17 I don't know. Maybe there were a listener. Somebody named Big John wrote, I have a big cock. And it's a dude walking a huge chicken. Oh, okay. Well, that makes sense. Man, MySpace.
Starting point is 00:22:28 What a, what a trip. What, a little. I don't think we need that back, though. Visit down memory lane. That's funny. I still can't. I'm over here. I was trying to figure out my username.
Starting point is 00:22:39 I have no idea. Lunchbox, could you find yours, or do you even know where to start? I mean, I don't know how Mike did that. I found my LB loves the late. like I went to it, but it's just a bunch of gray screen. And I, so I don't know how to do what Mike did. Let me try it out.
Starting point is 00:22:54 Yeah, that's what he did for mine at first, and then he went to some web archive. Yeah. Which I don't expect you to do. I don't know what that is either. That's fun, though. Yeah, it's really fun. I want to find out my page.
Starting point is 00:23:10 But you don't even know your name. And I don't even have you on mine to, I don't even know you in that. You want lunchbox? Yeah. Okay, this is going to be good. Can I tell you my favorite thing about it? Like MySpace is like you get friend requests from when we, very early on and it was like Wichita and all the hot chicks would be proud parent, proud parent, proud parent.
Starting point is 00:23:31 So lunchboxes was MySpace.com slash LB loves the ladies. His background was a shot glass with alcohol in it with Harley Davidson written on the shot glass on a table where you're playing blackjack because there are poker chips. Does any of this sound familiar? Yeah. And then his top eight was two of our interns,
Starting point is 00:23:58 Lindsay and Megan, me. It's hard to see because the background's... Somebody named just M. Somebody named Yvonne. Somebody named Fabulosity. Somebody named Lisa. It's just a bunch of girls in me.
Starting point is 00:24:13 I'll be loves the ladies, man. But his background is so weird, it's hard to read. Okay, here we go. Single, straight, six foot tall. Some liberties there, huh? Well. Income. This is from 2006.
Starting point is 00:24:32 He put his income? 250,000 and higher. In 2006. Any answer there? I mean, that's just trying to impress the ladies. Yeah. What are you going to do? You had so many videos embedded into your page.
Starting point is 00:24:48 I can't tell what, uh, what, oh, you're writing blogs. I wrote blogs. Yeah, you wrote one called baseball playoffs. Oh. One called gambling. One called Spanish commercials. One called toilet paper in my trees.
Starting point is 00:25:07 Huh. Anything come to mind there? Nothing. And then one. I mean, I don't even know where you'd write a blog. Yeah, I don't either. And then Amy, I'm not really good with writing, so I don't know how great it was. Amy can't find her page at all.
Starting point is 00:25:21 No, but I cannot find it anywhere. But I just found a LinkedIn of me. I didn't make this. But it says Clear Channel was my first, like my experience in education. Is that a fake LinkedIn, something made of you trying to scam people? It doesn't have my picture, but it has my maiden name and my first name. I have four followers and two connections, but I've never set anything.
Starting point is 00:25:50 And it says, I work at Clear Channel, but I went to Texas Christian University. Like, did somebody make me a, somebody was scamming? A scammer LinkedIn? Have you ever made a LinkedIn ever? I haven't either.
Starting point is 00:26:02 Lunchbox of you? No, I, no, did I make a link? No, that was something else for, I made an Indeed or something. Unless, is there another Amy, my made a name? But we're for ClearCham?
Starting point is 00:26:14 worked for Clear Channel that went to TCU? No. There could be another. And spelled exactly the same. There could be another with the same name, but one that worked for. And Austin, Texas. And then another Texas school. Right.
Starting point is 00:26:30 They just got that part wrong. It's Texas A&M. Mike, do you ever have a LinkedIn? Yeah, one. I need to build one. That's it. I'm going to build one. Why?
Starting point is 00:26:38 I've heard people are meeting on there. Oh, for you? Okay. Fair. Makes sense. But why did you build a LinkedIn, Mike? I started like when I first got hired at Iheart, so I've just had it since then.
Starting point is 00:26:50 It's just, I mean. What do you do on it? I don't do anything on mine. Oh, well, you can, well, see how that I have, you can have connections, you can have endorsements that you can post, you can post articles. So why do, is this if you're like in the business world
Starting point is 00:27:05 always looking for a better job? I would imagine for people that use it, it is a networking tool. I don't know. because we just don't network that way, but that's how, you know, what's crazy is on that love trapped podcast that I'm listening to.
Starting point is 00:27:21 He, the former bachelor, moved to Arizona and starting in real estate and the girl connected with him on LinkedIn wanting to look at properties. So LinkedIn ruined his life. I guess you could also find someone with a really prominent position and kind of target in on that.
Starting point is 00:27:41 Not just for scam, but for dating. Like, try to find somebody rich. Because you can see what their job is. Oh, yeah. Well, like... I was like, I know Tim Tebow is, like, one of the biggest people on LinkedIn. He has, like, a top, like, top 20 creator on LinkedIn.
Starting point is 00:27:55 What's he creating? I think he gets, like, a lot of engagement, like, on his posts. Oh, I think he probably writes blogs. Yeah. It's a blog site? Well, I know that I see people posts, like, on social media, they'll be, like, read my...
Starting point is 00:28:09 latest post about the economy and they'll put their link they put it up on LinkedIn like so maybe in the market of what they work in they could yeah write a quick like you were doing on my space like you know my space was cool yeah he has 2.3 million followers on on LinkedIn yeah dang wow that's crazy I just never I guess I've never needed LinkedIn because I've always had the same sort of job but I've also never known the reason unless you were looking for a better job. I guess to me it was always something you put up so people could find you to hire you away from your job. Okay, I just, I just clicked on top content on LinkedIn, and it's asking you what topics I want to explore, and there's tips for managing
Starting point is 00:28:49 stressors, how leaders foster psychological safety. So I'm sure there's a lot of tools and connecting that happens on LinkedIn. And jobs are, like if you're out of a job, yeah, that's what I would think of was. Yeah. You've heard the chaos. Now you can see it. Hello. My gosh. Starting point is 00:32:34 Breaking news, doctors have successfully performed in Vietnam the first penis transplant. Wow. Using an organ donated by a brain dead donor. Okay. So this is a situation in which someone wasn't happy with their current penis or they lost their penis and then they needed a transplant. Either. I can get there. Okay.
Starting point is 00:32:58 I just saw the headline that's at Prentice. So we're learning about this one together. So this is a major milestone for the nation's transplant and reconstructive surgery program. The recipient, a 43-year-old man had under. gone a partial penectomy four years earlier due to an illness was left with slight physical and psychological challenges surgeons spent the operation reconnecting the urethra blood vessels nerves and erectile tissue so far the transplanted organ is healing well the patient has no early complications doctors say will take more time to evaluate long-term sensation sexual function and the risk of
Starting point is 00:33:40 rejection. If it reject, does it go in? Is it an any? No. They probably just, it causes infection. You got to take it off. Oh. Yeah. So he had to have some of his penis removed, it sounds like, from some ailment. The procedure is believed to be the only sixth penis transplant worldwide. It could offer new hope for patients who have lost their penis due to cancer, trauma, or other accidents. Wow. Okay. So, yeah, he gets sick. Something happened. Had to have a penilectomy. And it sounds like they had to take the penis off of the other person who was still alive but brain dead. So his body is still working. Right.
Starting point is 00:34:17 So imagine you're the family though. But does he stay, is he staying alive or they're going to unplug him? Or they're just like, well, it's just sitting there. If you remove my penis, unplug me, unplug me, take me out. Yeah, yeah, I don't want to then go, oh. What did you wake up? Beep, beep, beep, I'm back. Oh, what a, holy crap, I'm back.
Starting point is 00:34:36 Oh my gosh. That would be quite. Shocking. You wake up and you're a kendall. That would be terrible. That would be. Next up. The sneakers that Justin Bieber wore
Starting point is 00:34:47 during the World Cup final halftime show were auctioned off for $30,000. Hopefully he signed those two. But the custom Skylark sneakers that Bieber wore during his performance sold at a Christie's charity auction and they made a bunch of money. I also saw the Eminem sold a bunch of his shoes.
Starting point is 00:35:08 So this money is going to a good cause. It's not Bieber just making some money. Yeah, he donated the sneakers to raise money for FIFA's Global Citizen Education Fund. They raised about $700,000. BTS items brought in most, though. You know who that is? The K-pop group. Yeah, they're boycotting the Grammys, right?
Starting point is 00:35:28 They're boycotting being nominated, right? I think that's what it was because... They didn't add an Asian category of something? I didn't click into that. I didn't see the headline. I saw the headline. I wasn't interested enough to click in. I'm more into penises being put on bodies.
Starting point is 00:35:49 Yeah, they're not submitting their album for consideration. Okay, good, go, go. So it's not that they're boycotting. Well, that's sort of. In a way. Boycotting, in my opinion, would be if you get nominated, you go, I'm not going. But they're pre.
Starting point is 00:36:03 It's like they're pre. But they may not even get nominated. Or are they nervous? They're not going to get nominated. So they're going to go ahead and remove them? themselves? Okay, there you go. That could be a thing, but I'm sure it's not. I'm sure it's not. They're wanting to make a statement. They win all the fan army stuff. If there's a fan army competition and BTS is up, they're going to beat everybody because they got multiple countries.
Starting point is 00:36:26 They got all the K-pop people, South Korea, obviously have a big following in America. I mean, all over the world. Passengers faint as they're trapped for 10 hours on a grounded flight. Yeah, that would suck. Passengers became trapped in the tarmac for over 10 hours with a failing AC system, sweltering heat, crude duty limits, and technical faults before finally disembarking. Here's a clip.
Starting point is 00:36:54 Now, this is happening. This is in America. So play me this clip. Water. Someone is a bottle of water. I can still hear people being mad, though. Oh, gosh. I don't like it.
Starting point is 00:37:20 I don't like it. And I'm going to be doing some of flight soon. You know, what really makes me mad is you think you're booking a flight. And then when you go in to pick your seat, every seat has a cost attached to it. Some should be included with your ticket and say zero. but every seat had anywhere from $153 to $153
Starting point is 00:37:44 so I was going to have to pay no matter where I sat so then I thought if I just don't pick a seat then maybe I don't have to pay but then I would be stuck with middle back somewhere and I want I'll... But what if middle back was the only one that had a zero on it?
Starting point is 00:37:59 But it didn't. There was no zeros. That feels like class action lawsuit. Well... That you buy your ticket and then there's an upgrade you have to pay. Yeah, if you wanted to pick your seat, I guess the way their workaround would be, well, you didn't have to pick a seat.
Starting point is 00:38:16 If you don't pick a seat, we'll just assign you. I think, I assume, because I'm buying a ticket. But I guess you're just chancing it to the gods. Where am I going to sit? The gods. Like, I don't want to sit. I don't know. I've had trouble with my trip to go see my cousin.
Starting point is 00:38:37 She's really far. and it's psychic cousin yeah she moved to another country yeah she moved to Ecuador and it's not easy to get there and you would think it maybe would be you're going to go to Ecuador well I want to see her and I'm trying to see her and everything keeps going wrong with it and then I was texting with her last night and she was like hey just give up for today she's like book your flight tomorrow and then I was like she is psychic is she telling me to book tomorrow and like something's going to be easier or maybe the flights I was trying to book
Starting point is 00:39:13 like something was going to go wrong because one I can get to Ecuador on like Delta but then once I get in the country to go to where she is I have to get on some Ecuadorian run airline and she was like it's fine, it's safe but that's the one where when I was trying to pick a seat it kept charging me wherever I was going to sit
Starting point is 00:39:32 and I want to sit at the front because I want to get off as quickly as possible if I'm in another country well not front, like first class, but every seat had a price. Yeah, that feels weird. It did feel weird, but then I felt like because it's Ecuador, there's nothing I can do about it.
Starting point is 00:39:47 I'm looking at where Ecuador is. Yeah, I had to Google it too. So I knew it was in South America, but I have been, and I have stayed for work, we stayed a month in Costa Rica, and it's below Costa Rica. It's down into the big fat part of South America. Yeah, I'm going to...
Starting point is 00:40:05 Like where Brazil is, but it's on the coast. I'm going to that part. Dang, that's cool. Yeah, and what's cool is, I guess, while my flight is going to be a little more, which is very annoying, once I get there, I'm staying with her. So I have no hotel fees, no...
Starting point is 00:40:20 Feels like you'll be sitting in the bathroom going down, but other than that, I know. No, I mean, I'll pay the $15, but it just was annoying to me that that wasn't, why are you doing that? Like, why are you paying me if every... Or why are you charging me for every little thing?
Starting point is 00:40:40 Every little thing. Dang, I'm jealous you went to Ecuador. Really? Yeah, that's cool. I thought it felt pretty random because it hasn't been on my radar, but obviously seeing her is. And our moms were best friends,
Starting point is 00:40:53 and just, it was recently the anniversary of her mom passing, and then she says our moms are, you know, together in heaven hanging out. So they love that we're going to be together. lunchbox, would you have known where Ecuador is? No idea. Would you have known South America? I knew South America, but I wouldn't be able to tell you, like, where in South America?
Starting point is 00:41:15 I knew that they were down there. Yeah, I had no idea. It's small. It's on the very left side of the big fat part, the big block. Because I guess that's Central America. Because Mexico, obviously, is below America. You guys would probably think of stupid because I'm explaining this because I don't know all this. And then it goes into Guatemala, below that,
Starting point is 00:41:34 then into like Honduras then to Nicaragua then to Costa Rica and so I've been in Costa Rica and we were at the at some points at the very very very very top and they were like you don't cross over to Nicaragua
Starting point is 00:41:48 it's so unsafe and Costa Rica does not have a military but you would land there'd be big guns people in all black with big guns standing on the streets it's like they're cops but it's super safe and what they're trying to do is stop people running drugs because they run drugs all the way up through South America,
Starting point is 00:42:06 it's not really for the crime that's happening there. But it's pretty intimidating when you get out and see that. Because Columbia is right above Ecuador, and Columbia is where a lot of the drugs are. Yeah. Because that's where our boy was. Medellian, right? Who?
Starting point is 00:42:22 Who? Escobar. Oh, Escobar. Was he in Medellian? I don't know what you're saying. Medellin? Medellin. Medellin.
Starting point is 00:42:29 I don't know. Whatever that word is, I forgot. That I didn't say at town? Oh, the town. Median? I don't know. Meridian. Median.
Starting point is 00:42:38 Median. M-E-D-E-L-L-I-N. Oh, okay. I don't remember the town. You're right, yeah, because they talk about that in entourage, remember? I could be wrong. I don't know. I just...
Starting point is 00:42:46 No, you're right. Okay. In entourage? I don't know. I've never seen that. I mean, I've seen a few episodes. Anyway, that's cool. I'm sorry about that ticket thing.
Starting point is 00:42:55 No, it's just a weird thing. And I can't get there in one day. Like, I'm going to leave one day and get there the next day. But the time zone is the same, so that's cool. I'm jealous. Oh. Yeah, that's fun. I hope you're in your psychic.
Starting point is 00:43:09 Why did she move to Ecuador though? Her and her husband, they don't, they've never really liked living in America. Before her mom got sick, they were living in Belize, and they loved that. Then she only came back to Austin to take care of her mom when she had cancer.
Starting point is 00:43:22 And then after her mom passed away, it took her a year to get the house sold and everything settled for her mom. And then they were like, okay, where to next? And they chose Ecuador. Now I'm going to be worried. she doesn't come back, guys. Not that she is going to want to stay down there, that she gets
Starting point is 00:43:37 murdered by a cartel or something. You? I think that I'll be fine. I'm going to be with locals. I know. I just, I'm always fearful of anything below Texas. It's unrealistic, probably. An unrealistic fear that has been given to me by movies and television and Mike. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. My mom went recently to Mexico and I was worried the whole time. Really? Yeah. How deep you have to drive down? Eight hours on a bus. I just think I see too many people get held hostage in Mexico on buses and TVs and they shake everybody down.
Starting point is 00:44:08 Yeah. Is that true? Not right now. She said it was fine but in the past they've been stopped. Oh, so I just, oh, the Sonola cartel is there? That one I've heard of. I just Googled it's the cartel in Ecuador. Yes. There are several drug cartels operating in Ecuador
Starting point is 00:44:28 including the Sonola cartel and the Halisco New Generation Cartel, both of those I'm familiar with, which have been involved in violent conflicts and drug trafficking activities in the country. Great. But probably not where I'm going. Good luck.
Starting point is 00:44:45 We're rooting for you. Yeah, TBD. The story starts with the more money you have, the happier you are. Yeah, that's what it says. More money you have, the happier you are. In effect, the rich are not just getting richer, they're living an improved life,
Starting point is 00:44:57 they're getting happier. The rich are able to use their wealth to hire and help make their job easier. This allows them to eliminate the monotonous day-to-day tasks. The rich are also able to take more time off and step away from the office, and that brings them joy. That's from a research journal called Emotion. Lunchbox, you go first? Oh, yeah, this is what I've been saying to you guys for years.
Starting point is 00:45:15 You guys always tell me, oh, more money just causes more problems. No, we don't say more. That's a blanket statement you can't put on us, but yes. I tell you, it's that money brings happiness because you're able to do things, and that's exactly what it says. You can go on more vacations. You don't want to cook. Guess what?
Starting point is 00:45:30 I'll hire a chef to cook for my family. Oh my goodness. What? I want to build a pool in my backyard. I got money. I can do that. You know what a pool does? Brings happiness.
Starting point is 00:45:39 More money, more happiness. It's easy. It's simple. I feel, and I've said this before, I feel like money, power, the more you have of it, the more you actually get to be yourself. And if you're miserable before you have a bunch of money,
Starting point is 00:45:52 you're going to be even more miserable with money. Like all these trips people are going on. Like, I made more money. I don't go on more trips. I don't do more crap. I just find a way. to work more. Which is not even about making more money.
Starting point is 00:46:05 It's just like I can get more done. So there is truth to you don't have to worry about a lot of the stresses that you had to worry about before. For sure. And the secondary stresses that people talk about are not as bad as the first dairy. Stresses have had those. Worrying about eating to eat. That's real. Worry about your counting and screwing something up?
Starting point is 00:46:29 That's only kind of real. There's a big difference in the two. You know, the line, having money is not everything, not having it is, never been a truer line spoken. Yeah, I think it definitely contributes to making your life less stressful and more manageable. Like if you can have money to hire help to pitch in in certain areas. But I agree with you, Bobby. Like, if you're unhappy and you think that, oh, if I just make more money, I'll be happy.
Starting point is 00:47:00 that's when you start to make that money, but your happiness level hasn't changed. Like you're relying on the money to make you happier. If there are fundamental things in your life that you need money, health, housing, kids, education, etc., yep, that helps there. But it's not generally going to make you happier. Because there are some really miserable wealthy people. Yep. Because it doesn't fix anything.
Starting point is 00:47:28 I look back now and I'm so happy I did not. I grow up's wealthy. Like, what even is there? If you already have everything young, what even is there? I mean, there's a lot of things out there, guys. I mean, I'm just saying, like, okay, if I had a grown up wealthy, that would have been great because then I experienced stuff as a kid. And then now that I'm older and I have even more money, I experience even different
Starting point is 00:47:50 things, going on different vacations, going, I mean, get a yacht. I mean, anything you want, money at your fingertips provides world access. If you don't have money, you don't have money, you don't. don't have access to the world. And that's just the truth of it. You see how countries and people are so much more happy whenever they just have a great community more so than a lot of money. Yeah, I've witnessed it. Happiness levels. First and, yeah. Yeah, because they don't know any different because they can't travel outside their communities, they are forced to be happy there. But the people that do travel have much lower. If your goal is material things, I can see where money would be awesome.
Starting point is 00:48:27 But if your goal is also material things, you're not actually finding true fulfillment in anything, because you're looking for material things, like the things that you listed. What did I list that was material? Travel in the world. All that stuff is fun, but that stuff is not that fun unless you got the other stuff sewed up first,
Starting point is 00:48:41 the close stuff. Listen, I've been poor, I've had money. I'm pretty much the same. No. Sometimes I might be even more miserable. My wife and having a daughter has changed it a bit, but I think for a long time,
Starting point is 00:48:53 I think I was even more miserable. Because money didn't matter to me. Well, but you've found your community. Yeah, now I have. Within your home. Yeah, yeah, for sure. Like you've had. friendship community, but I wouldn't know that unless I got to experience it.
Starting point is 00:49:03 I would be saying the same thing. I'd be like, man, more money. This is awesome. But it's just, listen, having money is not everything. But when you don't have it, that is everything because you can't afford even the basic fundamentals. But that's not you, though. Yeah, but I can afford the fundamentals, but I would like to have more so I can afford the nicer fundamentals.
Starting point is 00:49:20 You know what I mean? No, I hear you. You understand that. That's what I mean. Like, I get it. Like, I understand that I am not where some people are, but I am looking at those other people going, gosh, how do I get there? I drive through some neighborhoods and I'm just like, how do these people?
Starting point is 00:49:36 I mean, it is unbelievable. Okay, but so this is what I think sometimes. Now, there are people that make plenty of money. Don't get me wrong. But yes, when you, Mike's boyfriend and I would talk about this all the time. Like so many people, like we knew, we know our livings, like what we make, like what we do and like combine what we could do together and sort of like, and then we look around all these other people where maybe it's just one guy working, the wife.
Starting point is 00:50:00 doesn't have a job. All the kids are in these schools, X, Y, Z, taking all kinds of trips, spending all kinds of money on shopping. And it's like, for a certain percentage of people, that works. But then the others, you're like, the math isn't mathing. There's just, like, no way. So you have to think, like, are,
Starting point is 00:50:17 there's so many of those people that are eyeing lunchbox, they could be swimming in debt, and you have no idea. Or family money that was passed down. But even, like, even the numbers of, like, how. Because even factoring in. all the successful jobs or the family inheritance, there is a percentage, there is a part of the pie that they are just keeping up with the Joneses and then some.
Starting point is 00:50:42 And, you know, so you have to factor that in. Yeah, I understand. I understand what you're saying. Because you could do that. You could go just swim in a bunch of debt and live an extravagant life. Right, but I am not a living debt type of person. I am more, I want that money so I can do those things. I'm not going to do it if I can't afford it.
Starting point is 00:51:01 Like I want a Lambo, but I'd be in debt and I wouldn't be able to do anything. I wouldn't even be able to put gas in it. So I can't get it. Well, you could go in debt with your gas. But that's what I'm saying. I don't want to go into debt. I want those things. That's why I need the money.
Starting point is 00:51:13 That is very. This might be one of the most mature sides of him. Listen, if you are able to make a lot of money, I think that's great. And there is happiness that you come with it, but it's only to a point. Again, money and power make you more of what you already are. It's like the guy in the lottery we're talking about that won four, he's just getting arrested all the time or the people that blow all their money.
Starting point is 00:51:34 Like they were that kind of person. Money just allowed them to be that type of person. Yeah, I think that's the scary part is you get all that money and you don't know what to do with it. And so, I mean... Yeah, I do. Buy a yacht. I would take a chance. I would like to have that chance to have that money
Starting point is 00:51:48 and see if I could figure it out. I agree. Tell you that. And you know what? Maybe there's also another percentage. Maybe they're not in debt, but there's some sort of a scheme going on. I feel like I feel like I'm fortunate that I've got to live on both sides of it but I also understand that if I didn't get to live on the side of it I'm on now
Starting point is 00:52:05 I would feel the way I used to it be like man just more money would make everything so much better right right so it makes you happier to a point those studies are always interesting where they go if you make up to this amount this is peak happiness and money really doesn't affect it after that those are always interesting to me yeah um ray speaking of money will you play voicemail seven Good morning studio. I'm a part two listener here. Had a rough day in the stock market yesterday. Just about got wiped out by M.U. Micron. But I was wondering, haven't heard an update for a little while from lunchbox,
Starting point is 00:52:36 and I was wondering how the investing account is going. Love the show. Take care. Oh, you want to know? Let's pull it up. See how rich I am. Speaking of money. Yeah, I haven't even looked. I look because I bought Navidia itself.
Starting point is 00:52:51 Oh, don't ruin it for me. Is it bad news? Oh. Yeah, it's all right. It's okay. Yeah. That's all right. Yeah, let's see.
Starting point is 00:53:04 One I bought on my own. Not bad. I bought some of that spear. What spear? That place in Vegas. Oh, the sphere. Yeah. Got it.
Starting point is 00:53:16 What did I say? Spear. That sounds like what I said. Go ahead. And then I bought a while back to TKO. that's only up $42. It's not that good. Up at all.
Starting point is 00:53:29 It's good. Yeah. And I don't even know what this is. But I bought GLW. It's called Corning. And I'm up 90. Oh, I'm minus $92 on that. What is your overall on the top say?
Starting point is 00:53:45 Do scroll on the bottom where it gives you, see it says one day, one week, one month. Do all the way to the right and do all. All. Okay. I'm up $4,873.94.00. And then the money you gave me, though, take out of that. Oh, yeah. You don't have to take it out of that, but I'm just saying that we're factor in. I'm up like $1,500. 2000. That's great. Yeah, it should be more.
Starting point is 00:54:21 What is your percentage it says? If you look up there on the number, it'll say parentheses. Up all time? Yeah. Parentheses. 38.13%. That's massive. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:33 You're already on your way to being rich. I've got some good things in here. I bought some Dell. Oh, I'm down $9 on that. Never mind. Can't look at it individually. And that one Ray told us to buy. Yeah, that one went up for a while, Ray, and then it fell out again.
Starting point is 00:54:51 Yeah, I'm down. Down $21 on that one. Dang. The, CELAC, Cellac, sell Qity. That's it. Yeah, right now,
Starting point is 00:54:58 I'm down 16 bucks on it. But, dang. Yeah. It's an 84 bucks a share. Yeah, he told us, the guy we met at the bar that he was going to make a run.
Starting point is 00:55:07 It did. It did make a little run. Yeah. I mean, I didn't sell it. But, yeah, that's talking money. Yeah, new. I don't even know what that is.
Starting point is 00:55:16 I don't know why I bought it. I have new. I'm up $6.66. I don't know what that is. It's the only. $14 a share. I don't know what it is. I don't know why I bought it. I don't have new. Okay. Ray, we played that next voicemail.
Starting point is 00:55:28 I wondered if movie Mike or Eddie or any of you knew about the RunPee app. It's an app you can download and it tells you the best time to get up and use the restroom during any movie. It tells you where the slow spot is where you're not going to miss the most action
Starting point is 00:55:43 or what's the important thing to the movie. Anyway, I thought I passed it along. Thanks. Mike, do you know about the RunP app? Yeah, I used that before. Hey, Phil about it. It's pretty accurate, but I can kind of tell when you're watching a movie. Like, whenever like a big moment happens, after that, you're good. Whenever it goes from big, crescendo.
Starting point is 00:56:01 There's like something big that happens, that's when you should go pee. Like, nothing else is going to happen. You can get away in that time. The only other thing I'll do right the second is the marriage ending sentences, you should never say to your partner. I think we've talked about something like this before, but it's always fun when Daily Mail puts this out. Number one, this is all your fault.
Starting point is 00:56:17 But what if it is all my fault? Right. Like, what if it literally is all my fault? I know. that's a tricky one. I guess it's just there's maybe a better way to approach it.
Starting point is 00:56:29 If it is all my fault, I think I should hear it's all my fault. Okay. Next, there's something wrong with you. What if there is something wrong with you? Because sometimes there is. And my wife will say, there's something wrong with you. Like maybe if you're feeling a little off that day
Starting point is 00:56:43 with concern, you might be able to be there's something wrong with you. But in a fight, in a fight, be like, there's something wrong with you. Yeah, and there is. So I feel like that's good feedback for me. Next. I do this one. You never. Because it's not definitive words like that always never.
Starting point is 00:57:04 I do that and it's unfair and I will continue to do that. Do you always do that? Yeah. Why can't you be more like I would never do that? That one is too much. That one's over the line. I would never do that one. But also I don't want it to be like any.
Starting point is 00:57:19 Why? What do you go? Well, I mean, it's like, yes, you wanted to be more like the neighbor. Like, oh, you can see how they are? The neighbor. Wow. It's like they're more relaxed with their kids. Like, why can you be more like that?
Starting point is 00:57:31 Like, just calm down a little bit. Like, let the, you know, like, see how they parent? Why can you be more like that? Do you use that one? I've done it. Oh, clearly about the neighbor. Well, I mean, she is so, she's a little nervous about the kids. And I'm like, you see how they, like, why can you be like them like them?
Starting point is 00:57:47 They let them play. Just let them play. and she doesn't like that when you compare them to someone else. Don't compare my parenting style to someone else. I wouldn't do the next one. I don't even know why I'm with you. That one's over the line. Yeah, that's getting down there towards the real end of the whole relationship.
Starting point is 00:58:03 Calm down. Or relax. Relax. Calm down. Calm down. Relax. It never works. That doesn't work.
Starting point is 00:58:10 That doesn't make anything better. Let me tell you, if you tell me that, I'm not going to calm down. You should, though, because I'm telling you, you should calm down. No. Like calm down. It's not a big deal. calm down. Don't tell me it's not a big deal. It's not a big deal. Calm down. That's what I was doing. Okay. Okay. Okay. Fine, whatever. Nah, that one kind of feels stupid. That's just kind of like you're
Starting point is 00:58:28 punting to get out of the argument. You're so selfish. If I am, I think you need to tell me. I'm okay with that feedback. You're okay with it directly. Like, you're so selfish. Absolutely. If I am, if you feel that I am, you need to say that to me. By the way, I'm probably wrong. And you shouldn't say this to people, but I feel me specifically, if I'm being extremely selfish, I need to to hear that. I mean, you like really direct communication. Just tell me how you feel. And then you're just like your mom or just like your dad. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:58:58 we don't like that. Yeah, but what if they're awesome? Are you saying that in an awesome scenario? I think these are, if you're in a fight of sorts. Sure, if you're complimenting. But what if you're in a fight? But you remember how awesome their mom is? And you're like, calm down.
Starting point is 00:59:16 You just like your mom. And now I'm happy. Okay. Well, I guess you could do it that, but I don't think that's what it's referring to. Okay, we're done. Thank you guys.
