It's time for the Bobby Bones Post Show.
Here's your host, Bobby Bones.
Hello, friends.
Chris Harrison asked for a bunch of money when he left The Bachelor.
Well, they kind of fired him, ish.
Yeah, he did said something inappropriate or what did he do?
No, no, yes. That was very inappropriate.
Yeah.
So, but then he asked for, I think, $25 million.
They ended up giving him $9.
Oh, that's not bad.
But the big report was that he was walking away with $25 million.
But I guess he's just going to be poor and have $9 million now.
Oh, yeah.
It's a shame.
That's to, like, keep his mouth shut?
Yeah, basically that's what it is.
Hush money?
I wouldn't say hush money, but yes, a different form of hush money.
It's more of a,
hey, you served your role here.
Don't go write books about us.
You can.
I'm sure he's under an NDA anyway,
but he could still probably find ways around it.
But he did not get to pay out.
He was expecting after announcing his exit
as the host of The Bachelor.
He's walking away with $10 million,
a combination of $9 million
and some contractual fees,
less than the $25 million he wanted.
Wow.
I'm sure that $25 he wanted
was thrown out there as a negotiating tactic.
The germiest places in the airport,
which I didn't get to during the show.
We ran out because lunchbox was talking about eating while using the bathroom.
Chair armrests in the boarding gate area.
Handrails.
Touch screens, which I try to avoid at all costs.
Security bends, which are hard to avoid at all costs.
Oh, yeah.
But I always wear long sleeves to the airport to cover my hands with my sleeves.
water fountains, bathroom surfaces, and anywhere with crowds.
So if you are starting to travel a bit more,
it's hard to say avoid those places,
but just wash your hands right after those places.
Or like get a sanitizer.
Parents don't let your kids play tackle football before middle school
or they could have bad migraines later in life.
New studies are showing playing tackle football,
even at recess before the age of 12 could lead to an earlier onset of cognitive
and symptoms of CTE.
experts are urging children whose brains are rapidly learning and changing to play flag football or touch football, especially at first.
I mean, listen, they know now.
If you constantly ram your skull into something else over and over again, that's going to hurt your brain.
Yeah.
The end.
And I think it's awesome.
We have the ability to know this now so that we can prevent it.
The research shows a direct correlation to contact football at a young age and issues affecting memory and mood swings, which could lead to headaches later in life.
And the reason that they can find out about this now, too,
is we now have been studying it long enough
to have this data.
Ten years ago, we weren't studying this stuff,
so we didn't know that.
It's not like it's new.
I know.
I just feel like some people are going to be all up in arms,
like, oh, my kid's going to play tackle.
Well, and they can.
Great.
I played football my whole life from second, third grade on.
Tackle.
I didn't like to get hit, though.
I avoided it at all costs.
So I was not someone who was good.
But I did play football.
And, you know, to me,
team building, team bonding,
leadership skills,
like all that was gained there.
But if my kid came and said,
I'm 10, I want to play tackle football,
I'd go, man, I think we should play flag
for a few years.
And then we'll re-address the situation.
And even with flag, you can still learn all that.
Even with a flag, you still get a concussion, though, too.
Like soccer, people are hitting the,
they get concussions all the time.
Because they're hitting their head with the ball.
If your son want to play tackle football, would you let them?
No.
You wouldn't even let them.
No, I'm not until high school, or when I guess it would be later.
I do think that hopefully they're putting things in place and now they have helmets that
are more equipped for that kind of thing.
But I'll just teach him to do like Uncle Bobby, run off the field.
Wow.
I'm just kidding.
How did you avoid getting tackled though?
Well, you didn't.
Oh, I thought you just said you tried.
I did.
I tried.
You avoid by not playing a position where you have to do a lot of hitting.
One, I didn't play defense.
I would only play in like nickel and dime packages on defense, which is a,
defensive back only for emergency passing situations.
So there's not a lot of me having to tackle anybody.
Otherwise, I played a wide receiver or a slot,
and they throw me the ball, and I just try to run.
Sometimes you get tackled.
But it's different being the tackler than the tacklee.
The tackleee, if you're running with the ball,
not as a running back, you're usually a little more up.
You're not taking it.
If you're tackling, you're down and low.
So I avoided that.
Drey, you play football?
I did, but even before these studies,
I didn't like my head hurting.
And I was smaller, so you got to realize,
I was getting crushed in practice
and all these other dudes are bigger than me.
I was like, it's not fun for me
because it hurts way more
when I get drilled and tackled.
It hurts it in the ground.
You think because you have pads on
and it doesn't hurt?
It sucks.
It was awesome, but it sucked.
When did you play football?
So I played all through middle school,
freshman year of high school,
and then I was like, I'm out.
Guys, it's been real.
And I mean, it was actually a pretty big deal
at the school
because me and my brother both decided
not to play football.
And it was a smaller school
and they're just like,
what?
What are you talking about?
You're crazy?
I'm like, I'm not crazy.
We're out.
and we ended up being the smart ones.
They didn't win the next year.
Maybe they didn't win because of you.
Probably not.
Probably not.
My high school, we've always had football teams, but a very small school.
We've always had just enough to have those teams.
Last year, they didn't have enough.
They played seven on seven.
They won the state championship at seven on seven.
That's awesome.
Which is crazy.
Eddie's back on the phone.
Eddie played high school football, he says.
I did.
And you said you were a three-star recruit?
Yeah, man.
I did, but I quit.
I quit before my son.
senior year. I'm like, it's not worth it.
Not that I was worried about getting injured.
I just wanted to have a good time. Like, lunch walks, I was sick.
Eddie's walking right now,
in case you missed the show. Where are you now?
I'm about five miles out.
You mean you've walked five miles?
Oh, yeah, yeah. I'm not five miles out of my goal. I've walked five miles since I started,
yeah.
How are your feet?
Feet aren't bad, man, but I'm starting to cramp.
My hamstrings are starting to cramp a little bit.
I've been going uphill for the last, like, 20 minutes, so that could be part of it.
If you would have told yourself three months ago that you would be this beat up from walking, would you believe it?
No.
No, because you're just like, oh, I'm just walking, no big deal.
Right.
But, man, when you're in the element and the ground's uneven and sometimes you have to walk on grass,
and one thing you don't realize is that the road slanted left to right.
So you're constantly kind of leaning to the right.
The road slanted left to right?
Yeah.
So I guess they design it that way.
So when it rains, the water falls off.
off to the side.
So it's kind of put a lot of strain to my right side a little bit.
Well, then walk backward for a while.
I can also go to the other side of the road.
And do you feel like cars are recognizing you at all?
Oh, yeah.
So the lady that put up the signs, we talked about that a little bit.
She stopped by.
Her name was Paula, and she drives a bus.
But she stopped to get a picture and told me that she really loved what we were doing.
She loves you guys.
She loves the whole show.
And it's been really cool, man,
to just meet these people that listen and following along
and now rooting me along.
It's really cool.
Hey, Mike, can you show me this?
The tote board on the screen?
All right, Eddie, we'll turn him down for a little bit.
Hey, are we bothering you by keeping you on the line?
Are you just with earbuds?
No, as soon as we start talking, I forget about my pain.
So let's do it.
Okay, there is.
Wow, he's already in so much pain.
There's a guy named Chris Williamson who put $20,
into a cryptocurrency called Rocket Bunny, like Bitcoin.
There's all these new ones.
They're all basically startups.
None of them work, right?
But he puts $20 into a crypto called Rocket Bunny.
And last week he woke up and saw he was worth $1.4 trillion.
What?
Huh?
Is it a glitch.
Oh.
Okay.
I was about to say, man.
He said he sank 20 bucks into Rocket Bunny and then woke up.
He was like, wow.
And it was, how many numbers is this?
36, 9, 12, with a 1.
It was a 1, then a comma, and 12.
12 numbers.
And he said he tried to move it
because he had it and he wanted to get out of that account
and put it somewhere else. Of course. And they wouldn't
let him. Yeah. There was an issue.
Wasn't real. Hey.
Lunchbox to keep it. Oh man. I'd find a way to get that
out of that bank account. Oh my gosh. One
trillion?
On the tote board right now it's at $73,000
for Eddie. Eddie, you know, you up for a thousand bucks.
That's amazing.
You can, there's 2009 contributions.
I thought it was going to be the year, but no, there's literally been
2009 people contribute a little bit of money for Eddie to make this walk.
And we weren't even asking for more money.
And listeners just continued to put in 10, 15 bucks.
And the number is raising, raising, raising as Eddie walks from West Virginia to Tennessee.
I love that.
And now that you said that number, I'm walking faster.
See?
It's like, you know.
Oh, it pumps them up.
If it hits 100,000, will you run?
No.
I tried running yesterday for like two minutes.
And I'm like, this is not going to work.
I can not jog and walk at the same time.
You watch the terminal on Netflix?
Yes.
That's old school, huh?
It's 2004.
And I don't know why I thought it was just about some maybe American that decided they wanted to go live in a terminal.
So they did.
I couldn't have been more off on the plot.
Tom Hanks plays the guy that lives in the terminal.
And he's from another country.
And his country goes to war, right?
And he can't get back in.
And then he stuck.
So part of it is actually really sad.
But then they make it, it's also funny.
like you laugh out loud some moments, but hey, it's on Netflix now.
So if you have that, it could be a good little movie to check out this week or this weekend.
I'd give it three and a half to, let's give it four airplanes out of five.
Four, that's a really good review.
Yeah.
I mean, I feel like for, I guess I just didn't know even really anything about it, clearly.
And I thought Tom Hanks did a great job.
Your daughter's home from church camp?
Yes.
How'd that go?
So amazing.
And she made so many friends.
friends. Like it's really cool to see her, you know, just make memories and make new friends and
become like a real teenager. I know she's 14, but, you know, last year because of COVID,
there was no camp. And the year before she went to camp, but her English was still a little bit
off. I don't think she was ready for it, like an overnight situation. And it was not a good
experience at all. So I was nervous going into this year. And she came home, just so pumped.
Like she got home Saturday afternoon. And then on Sunday, she was ready to wake up and go to
youth group, see her friends again, and do all the things. And they're all in these group chats.
I love it. Hey, Ray, play a voicemail number three for me, please. This is the one we didn't get to today.
Hey, Bobby. I'm a truck driver, and I'm watching your show where you're driving a 18 wheeler.
I totally cried on a tugboat episode. God, you are fantastic, Bobby. Love you. Well, thank you.
Wow, she's still emotional. Well, it sounds like there's something happened in the background, too.
I got a family running around.
Yeah, thank you very much.
If you missed the episode, you can watch it on the NatGeo app or National Geographic.com,
or you can go to Amazon and get an episode.
The tugboat episode was extremely sad at the end.
I won't say what happened, but you can watch it up there.
A lot of people hit me with that, unexpected.
So watch them, get them.
Give us a good review on Rotten Tomatoes or Amazon or have your review stuff.
We'd appreciate that.
Up on the podcast today, Get Real with Caroline Hobby.
She has on actress and wellness expert, Noelle Ellie.
She shared her inspiring story on how she went from nannying and waiting tables to making over six figures in 10 months.

And Mike D on Movie Mike's movie podcast ranked all 24 Pixar movies from worst to best.
I'll read you the three worst he put on there.
Okay.
The Good Dinosaur.
I don't even know what that is.
Me neither.
Was it that bad, Mike?
Yeah.
It was bad?
Surprising. Oh, it was a flop.
Monsters University at 23.
Morgan, didn't you like Monsters University?
Was that not you?
Was that not you?
No, I think that was Eddie.
Yeah, maybe.
And then Cars 3 was a third worst of all time for Mike.
So you can check that out.
Movie Mike's movie podcast.
I will not tell you what made the top.
That's why you listen.
Here's the top of the list.
Do you want to interview me about the terminal?
No, I'm just kidding.
It is good.
Did you like it?
What do you give it?
Oh, three and a half out of five airplanes.
Eddie, did you watch Monsters you?
Yeah, at some point, dude.
I've watched it.
We're losing.
Oh, we lost him.
He's walking in a very long.
Oh, really?
Oh, he's back.
Hey, you know why the terminal's so good?
Why?
Because Tom Hanks, like, you forget that he's Forrest Gump.
You forget that he's the guy from Big.
Like, he's so good at making you forget that he's Tom Hanks
and really plays his character so well.
You're also a Tom Hanks lover like I've never seen before.
I love him.
Oh.
You've met him?
No.
But, gee, it's one of those things.
Like, you always say you don't want to learn, you don't want to meet your idols or whatever,
David Letterman and Howard Stern.
I don't want to meet Tom Hanks.
I don't want him to ruin that for me.
I've changed, though.
I think in the past few years.
Oh, have you?
Yeah, I've changed.
I would meet them.
And if they sucked, then I'm like, all right, well, cool.
It doesn't mean I still can't enjoy their work.
Yeah.
I guess you're right, because when I met Adam.
Duritz, that was really heartbreaking,
but I still listen to his music all the time.
Yeah, Adam Duritz, lead singer of the Counting Crows,
Eddie said he had a miserable experience with him.
He was in a terrible mood.
He was just mean to everyone.
Maybe he was just a bad day.
I met him in Houston, and this one kid's
in front of me, he's just like, welcome to Houston,
man, in this town great, and he goes, this town sucks.
That's funny.
But that's kind of what you expect.
with him, right? Yeah, totally. But I mean, I don't know. I wanted him to be a little nicer maybe,
but I was upset for the night. But after that, I'm like, I still like his music, who cares?
I mean, if you met Eminem and he was the nicest guy ever, and he's like, hey, buddy,
when you kind of be like, well, that's not the Eminem I wanted to meet? Yeah. You kind of, like,
I wanted the edge. You kind of, um, what else happened? How did you meet him? How'd you get backstage then?
My cousin, they were on tour with live. Do you remember live?
Lightning Crash. Of course. I remember live.
Okay. So they went to it live and my cousin knows them.
So he got backstage passes and I went straight to Adam Duritz when I saw him.
Well, maybe that was it.
Some random guy came running at him.
No, it was a meet and greet.
Oh, it was.
It was like they were in a room and you can talk to anyone.
Cool.
All right.
All right, Eddie.
You guys can go donate 10 bucks to Eddie.
That would be awesome.
Go to Bobbybones.com.
The link is up there.
He is raising money for this organization.
that helps with foster kids.
Eddie, we're going to let you go until tomorrow now.
All right, man.
Thank you.
I'm going to call my wife and my mom and everyone.
They've been wondering about me.
What happened with them?
Do they go home?
So they stayed in Severeville one more night and they're headed back today.
Are they going to come meet you?
No, they're headed back.
Oh.
They wanted to, but the little baby's not feeling great, so they're going to head home.
Are they worried about you?
No.
I think my wife's just checking up, like, how are your legs, out your feet?
because the longest I practiced was 11, 12 miles.
And so I'm not, he was worried about yesterday.
Like, you're going to push 16.
Like, I hope you don't go over that limit.
But she's just wondering how my legs are keeping up.
That's it.
Do you feel your body doing anything different?
Like, are you, I know it's been so, you've been training.
Are you feel like you're losing weight or anything?
Kind of.
I mean, I feel lighter.
I don't know of like I've been, I haven't weighed myself or anything.
But during the walk, though, man.
I have to pee a lot.
I guess that's a good sign because...
Yeah, you drinking enough water?
I guess I'm staying hydrated.
Yeah.
All right.
Well, I'll call you later, but we will talk to you on the show in the morning.
All right, man.
Good luck.
You have 16, 17, more miles.
What do you think is going to be the hardest part of this whole thing, Eddie, is we're just into the start of day two?
I just think the downhills are the hardest, man.
Like uphill, they hurt a little bit, but when I start going downhill, it's hard on the knees.
What part of your body do you think we want to give out first?
Like your shins?
You get splints, your calves, your feet.
What's the deal?
I think my feet, because it's not so much like the bones of my feet.
It's like the ligaments.
Between, you know, somewhere like in the middle of my foot that just starts kind of cramping up and hurting a little bit.
I'm trying to keep ice on it and trying to like rub icy hot on it.
And then do you...
Hopefully it doesn't.
Do you have anti-inflammatories?
Because you could start taking those preventatively.
Yeah.
So is that like Advil and stuff, Tylenol?
Like ibuprofen?
Yeah.
Yeah. Okay, great. I've been taking that.
Mostly I've been taking it because I don't want to feel the pain, but...
Yeah, not... I don't think it's Tylenol.
Those things you can take it.
Yeah, there's no, I get you.
Yeah, you need like a leave.
No, not that either.
All right, dude. Talk to you tomorrow. Good luck.
Thanks. A bunch of doctors give me advice. Thank you guys.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're experts.
Follow at producer Eddie on Instagram.
Follow the stream, bobbybones.com.
Donate five bucks if you have it, ten bucks if you have it, and that's going to do it for today.
Thank you all.
I'm so, like, I'm just motivated by the music.
I feel like I should be doing something when Ray plays this song.
Do you know what this is called?
I don't.
I don't know.
Make it to the finish line.
Yep, that's exactly what it's cool.
You can do it.
Oh, it's a good name for it.
We're on our way.
Do you know what this is called, Lunchbox?
Cherry hits a fire.
That's right.
No.
Plus.
One reason I know that is old school.
The movie old school?
Yeah.
All right, you guys, have a good day.
We'll see you tomorrow.
Bye, friends.
