The Bobby Bones post show
pre-show. All right.
You get to hear our boss Rod. Amy was just talking
about that. She's like, Rod never post stories on
Instagram, and he was on the show today
and he's posting stories. I guess he got new followers, and he
just posted, but I guess he took this video early.
He's like headed into the Big 98 to hang out with the Bobby Bone show.
Must be how new artists feel driving during this drive.
Like listen to the radio.
And then he has a video of him walking through the back door.
And he's like, what a glamorous life.
Hashtag show business.
You'll hear him later.
He comes in and does an hour, almost an hour and a half.
Rodney P1 is his Instagram.
Rodney P1.
I do, because I only have a minute, because I got a couple of meetings I've got to get to today.
Mike D.
Will you go over to the microphone?
A couple of things on Mike D
I wanted to talk about.
First of all,
I've been thinking about
watching the show
McMillions on HBO.
Yeah.
Amy, have you seen it?
We've watched one episode.
Okay.
Through one episode,
how do you feel, Amy?
I felt really good.
I felt like I was...
Pretty good.
That's pretty interesting.
I felt okay.
I guess when we started watching it,
I thought it was a movie documentary
and then it was over.
And I was like, wait,
that was super quick.
Oh, you didn't know it was episodes.
Yeah, and my husband's like,
oh, it's an episode thing
because he's the one that turned it on
and I started watching it with him.
And I find it interesting.
It's about McDonald's, right?
Yeah, the monopoly thing.
The monopoly, yeah, like how they did it.
Oh, it's not about how McDonald's came together.
No, no, no.
It's about the monopoly game.
And how they cheated?
Yeah.
All these people, they won the game.
There was no legitimate winners ever.
What?
Is whose fault is that, McDonald's or the people?
There was an organization.
It was a ring.
It was a whole ring.
It's crazy.
It's crazy to watch the FBI being on.
It's how many resources had to go in.
John, we got a park place.
We're going to kick in the door, grab park place as soon as you can to get out of there.
Yeah.
The process on how they investigated is crazy.
Yeah.
We got one goal getting Mediterranean Avenue and get out the door.
We got to get it to the judge.
Mike, what did you rate it?
You watch all of it?
Well, there's only four out yet.
There's two left.
But I give it four out of five French fries.
Wow.
So I'm going to wait for the other two then.
Yeah, wait for it.
Because they've been slow releasing.
Like when we watched the one, that was all that was there to watch.
And we couldn't even go to the second one and we wanted to.
And I was like, what is this?
The late 90s?
It's on age.
So it comes on Monday nights.
Amy's like, we can't even get to the next episode.
What is this?
The 2000s?
My free trial is going to be up by the time the whole thing stops.
Four out of five, huh?
Yeah, it's good.
Yeah.
And you've seen four out of six episodes?
Yeah.
Okay.
Amy, well, I'm not going to ask you yet.
Don't ask me, but I'm glad he reminded me of it because my husband and I can now go back
to it now that I know there's more episodes because it was intriguing and crazy.
Like, again, all the work that was going into it.
and for a McDonald's Monopoly game.
Well, that's millions of dollars, though.
Yeah, they win a million dollars on a ticket.
I know, yeah.
Something else, as we have you here, Mike, that I wanted to bring up,
was we talk about the dark web at times on this part of the show.
Yeah.
Which is, this is not the radio show, by the way.
For some reason, you click our podcast for the first time.
When the show is over, we just keep the mics going.
If we had another hour, we'd probably talk about this dumb stuff.
But we don't, so we keep going.
And Mike D has put together another nerdy.
minute about the dark web.
So here we go.
It's time for the nerdy minute with Mike D.
So I have some crazy things you can find on the dark web that people go to it for.
So he's been investigating the dark web, which I ain't doing.
I'm not clicking dark web.
There's a lot of things I won't type into Google.
One of them is dark web.
And so what are three things that you can get on the dark web?
So a lot of people go for like organs.
If they can't, they're like on a donation list and they can't get one, they'll go on the
dark web to find somebody like selling a kidney or something.
Crazy.
How much?
I don't know.
Probably like $20,000 of what I saw.
And where's that kidney from?
Oh, people kill people.
That's part of the door of it's anonymous.
No receipts.
Right.
I know, don't they like, sometimes people kidnap people and take out their organs and put them in an ice bath.
Are you seen that in movies?
I'm sure that's happened somewhere.
Have you ever seen that on the real news or in real news story?
Yeah, because the news is scared to cover it.
Yes, the dark web news.
I'm sure somewhere it's happened.
It has.
Okay.
So one.
organs, body organs. Okay, and next?
Multimillionaires will go on there and find people for, like, human gladiator fights.
So they'll find people to basically bring them to these events to fight each other sometimes, like, to the death.
That's awesome.
Sounds horrible.
To the death?
Yeah.
Oh, to their death.
It's not awesome.
I missed that part.
It does not seem awesome.
That's like gladiators.
So really rich people really do do that.
Yeah.
Amy saw it on the news.
It's real.
No, I don't know about that.
And what's another one?
Well, there's actually a good thing is people go on there as like whistleblowers.
if they've seen or heard of a crime and they want to remain anonymous,
they'll go on there to report it because the FBI uses it,
like, the whole network of, like, people who report things.
You can go to the dark web for good stuff?
Yeah.
The FBI uses it.
Dark web.
Tell me something good, dark web.
That's what we need.
All right, there you go.
There's the nerdy minute with Mike D.
That was the nerdy minute with Mike D.
Again, let's encourage you to check out Amy's podcast.
She's got a new one up today.
Amy, what are the four things on four things with Amy Brown you're talking about?
Well, I have a writer on that the first thing we talk about is writing for therapy.
Like if you've had any trauma in your life, she gives you tips on how you can write through it and it can be therapeutic for you?
Like writing, even just five minutes a day, journaling.
Because I'm not a big journaler, but I'm trying to be.
But she goes over how it can be therapeutic.
And then I do another thing with her on affirmations that you can say to yourself daily that'll make you feel better.
And then I have a CBD expert on talking about the benefits of CBD and clarifying that you're not going to get high.
No, I do.
No, no, no, no, no.
And then my trainer is on for the last thing,
and we're just talking, like, about health and wellness
and an upcoming series that I have on that.
Okay, four things with Amy Brown.
Check out that podcast.
John Langston's coming home to my house tonight to do a bobby cast,
just a heads out of them, maybe up tonight, maybe up tomorrow.
That's the deal there.
Are you guys doing sore losers still?
Oh, yeah, we're still doing it.
Me and Ray are doing it.
And it's kind of fun because we do sports,
but then we're also talking about things that interest us.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
I thought you were going to say something more.
than that. No, we talk, it's more heavily gambling without lunchbox. We're not going to talk
about the stuff you see on Sports Center. We're going to talk about betting lines if Eddie won $5.
Did he win his parlayes? Fun stuff like that. Okay, thank you.
Here's today's show. Oh, yeah. I was like, what is it coming from? I thought it was like sound
clip. I know. I was like, what is happening? All right. Thank you guys. Here is a Thursday show.
Bye, everybody.

Financial stress is one of the things that,
we don't always talk about, but it hits harder than we realize. It's not just numbers in a bank
account. It's the anxiety that keeps you up at night. It's the tension that it can create in
relationships and that constant feeling of, am I doing enough? There are moments where it's
overwhelming, where no matter how hard you work, you feel like you just can't quite get ahead.
And what you learn is that stress isn't just financial. It's emotional. That's why it's important
to check in with yourself because struggling and struggling with money doesn't mean that you're
you failed. It means you might need support in a different way. Therapy can help you unpack the
stress, the pressure, even the beliefs that you've carried about money for years. And with Better
Help, you can get matched with a licensed therapist who fits your needs. Plus, if it's not the
right fit, you can switch at any time. You don't have to carry the weight alone. When life feels
overwhelming, therapy can help. Sign up and get 10% off at BetterHelp.com slash Bobby. That's BetterHelp.

Welcome to Thursday's show.
In about an hour, Garth Brooks, we'll be by, be hanging out in studio.
Really looking forward to that.
Let's see what's happening with everybody here in this studio in our segment that we call, What's the Haps?
Hey, what's the Haps?
I'll go first.
Did you know not this Sunday, but next Sunday is spring forward?
Yes.
Oh, you did.
That's what I said.
Wow.
The 8th is spring forward.
Yeah, because this is the one I do not look forward to at all, and I think about how when it comes around it, but I know some of it can be mental, so I'm just already mentally preparing myself.
Like, it's not going to affect me. It's not going to affect me. It's not going to change me. I'm fine.
Well, you're really spending a lot of time on this.
Because every year I get like, oh, so weird about it. Like, I feel like my whole body changes. And that's just not possible.
Well, I saw a tweet about it about it about it, about it. Well, I saw a tweet about it about it, about it.
Just so everybody knows, not this Sunday, but next Sunday, it is spring forward.
We move our clocks up an hour.
And listen to your in Arizona.
Shout out to everybody listens to Arizona.
Yeah, shut up.
You guys are living the same.
When I'm governor of Arkansas, this bull crap is stopping where we move the clock.
We're done.
Broom Bup.
Cut out.
No more.
Hey, over to Amy now.
Let's go.
Hey, what's the hat?
Okay, so for years, I've had this rash on my stomach.
Like, it's really bad.
I probably talked about it, like these weird bumps.
Nobody can figure it out.
And I normally get a spray tan or I put some sort of self-tanner on myself at home.
And I stopped doing that.
Like a month ago, I did nothing.
And I'm just doing this like just Burt's B's, unscented, just regular old lotion.
And so I'm very pale, which is depressing.
But my rash is gone.
So I'm kind of struggling because I really need a spray tan next week for this event that I'm doing.
and I don't think I want to get it
because I don't want to
I don't want the rash to come back
so I'm allergic to spray tans
Could you imagine Bobby if you were allergic to spray tans
What would you do?
Oh man
I don't want to be alive
Right?
What's the point of living?
Right?
Yeah
That's how I feel.
No, not really.
I mean he's Joe a little bit of but yes.
I am too
But Bobby knows the feeling of how a spray tan can just
like turn your day around
Like you can be feeling one day.
I don't love a spray tan
Tint. I get them for work.
Wait, you look good.
But I get them, I would be fine, never getting one.
I don't like how it makes me smell.
Unless it's summertime, I have my shirt off, I'm fine.
But under lights, when I'm doing American Idol, for example, I look like a ghost.
So I don't think I love it as much as you do.
I probably get on more than you do.
Whatever it does to me, like, I can, like, do it, get a spray tan and wake up the next day,
and I'm a whole new person.
I'm like, dang, this is so much better.
What I feel like every day.
I know.
I know.
Oh, Eddie.
You're so.
Nice and dark.
So anyway.
Eddie, coming over to you.
Hey, what's the hat?
Well, guys, I've hurt my shoulder.
I've injured it.
And I wasn't doing anything crazy.
I guess just years and years of sleeping on my side is finally like, I'm doing an end.
Years and years of being older.
My shoulder just hurts, man.
And I'm a side sleeper.
So, like, I sleep.
I start every night on my right shoulder.
And then sometimes I switch or whatever.
But I guess my right shoulder just took a hit finally.
You know, when I sleep, I go feet.
Feidel with my arm over my head, but my arm under the pillow.
You've probably been doing that forever.
Like 70% of my sleep is me fetal looking to the left with my arm under the pillow scooped around.
And the other 25% I'm on my back with my hands above my head too.
I always think my hands above my head.
Yeah.
Why that?
And for a while my shoulders were hurting from my hands about my head.
So I would like tie them to my body.
You would?
Yeah.
Yeah, I would take and try to like strap them into my body.
Because my shoulders were killing me.
Now I just accept it.
It's life.
We're getting old, man.
It's 39.
It's about to be 40.
All right.
Hey.
Hey, what's the hatch?
Here's the Bobby Bones Show podcast, highlight segment of the day.
I watched Love is Blind last night as a show on Netflix.
I don't think I would have got in it, but I heard so many people talking about it that I felt I needed to check it out.
And then my girlfriend was like, we have to watch it together, and I'm on episode three.
So I also didn't want to start at episode three.
So begrudgingly, I turned on Love is Blind.
last night.
Blown away.
And how one,
dumb it is,
and how too much
I love it.
Because,
and usually in a show
that's an hour long,
I'm big on time.
I want to check every 10 minutes
to see where we are on the show.
I need to see where,
okay, what can I expect?
You know,
because the art travels
with the time of the show.
I never stopped it
until 47 minutes in.
Wow, okay.
So love is blind.
There was this girl,
and please,
listeners,
please, my people,
don't text me or tweet me spoilers
because normally I won't talk about a show
when I'm in the middle of it
but I come to you
and say please I'm gonna talk about this from my heart
but don't text me spoilers
thank you
there's this one girl who's a tank mechanic
I tweeted
just started love is blind
the tank mechanic girl wants to make me walk in front of a tank
she's like I know I'm cute
I know and she's just so much
just too much
do I'm talking about? Yes she's like
she also says because she is pretty
and then she's smart and, yeah, in the military.
People can't even believe that I have a conversation.
They look at me and they're like, wow, you have brains too?
Before I realized she was in the military,
I was like, what is she like a neurosurgeon?
Why is she saying this?
I'm like, okay.
There is a, these dudes go into the room.
What happens is they call them pods and you walk into a pod like pod three
and a girl walks into pod three and you talk,
but you never see each other.
And you have these hour long conversations and dates.
have a drink, lay on the couch.
But not see each other.
You never see each other.
And they start falling in love or so they say.
They're like, oh my God, I'm falling.
They're falling in love.
My thing is, strategically speaking, these dudes would go back into the main room and go,
I'm really falling in love with Caroline.
And I'm like, why would you say that?
Lie and say it's somebody you don't like and make people go after her.
Because don't, like a guy, I was thinking this, the guy mentality,
once one guy says he's into this one girl, I think, I feel like it would make the other guys
be like, oh, yeah.
and then turn it to competition.
Just the human mentality.
Yeah.
Bachelor and Bachelorette, those shows are both based on competition as well.
Competitiveness.
The first episode, people were, and we're talking about five dates in, people are going,
I love you to each other.
Crazy.
They haven't even seen each other.
They haven't stalked each other's Instagrams yet.
Yet they're going, I love you.
That's happening.
And I have done a reality competition show.
If you're new to this show, I did in one Dancing with the Stars two seasons ago.
So I often thought these people are stupid on these shows, but it really does become
all that you're surrounded by,
you do become enveloped in this.
My whole world is what's around me.
Because it's all you're doing all the time.
And I'm sure they're spending 14 hours
doing these dates a day.
It's all the people around you are doing at the time.
So it is a bit more intense.
Now, that being said,
I still think it's bizarre
that they're crying
and saying they love each other.
One of these guys is a scientist.
He does artificial intelligence.
Smart guy.
And he's like,
I love you.
Oh, emotionally, he's getting very vulnerable.
So, Bobby, you're in a relationship now, but when I was watching this, I was like,
if Bobby was single, I would want him to be on this show so bad.
I would dominate that show because girls will look at me, they don't fall in love.
If I have time to sit because I care about what people think and say and I'm funny,
had to develop these skills because I was an ugly kid and because I was a poor kid,
I will be good on this show.
Oh, I'd thrive.
What if we didn't have eyes?
I'd be the hottest guy in the world if we didn't have eyes.
That would be great.
Wow.
I would go on this show with no intention of getting married just to take naps in the pods.
Oh.
I'd be like, oh boy.
All right, we'll see you guys in an hour.
On episode two, a couple got into a fight.
Oh, wow.
With each other.
They had never seen each.
They're fighting in the pods?
Yeah, they were.
Oh, I haven't seen episode two yet.
Yeah, they're like, I can't believe you would do this.
And they get into a fight.
And I'm like, oh, just walk out of the pod.
Never see them again, except you've never seen them to begin with.
Right.
It is.
It's nutty.
What I was thinking about Amy was Nick and Vanessa.
Yeah.
They walk in the first episode and you never see them again the first episode.
Okay, that's why I didn't see them.
They never come back to second episode.
But where are they?
What do they do?
Okay, they have to have maybe there's...
But they're the hosts.
There's room for them later somewhere, apparently.
But there was an engagement on the first episode.
Two people got engaged.
And then you don't see each other until it's the engagement and they open up the doors.
Here's what I find not as fulfilling is that pretty much everyone on the show is about
the same looking.
They're all good looking.
They're all pretty good looking.
There's some really pretty girls
and some doofy guys.
But doofy guys are okay
because girls can find the good in guys.
So these are all people
that would probably be first round rejects,
maybe second round rejects on The Bachelor.
Not super hot, but good enough looking
to be on the show.
So I wish they would put in some supermodels
and I wish they would just put in
with people who just felt like
they weren't physically attractive at all.
And we'd get like
you know,
Victoria Beko
match with me
and you have to watch her
be so disappointed.
So I wish that
there was an element of that
but it is interesting
because you have one white dude
who's never dated a black girl
and saying with her
she's like,
I never did a white dude
and they didn't know
and it opened the door
and they were like
what a do
and they're like
oh how about that?
One guy,
did you're talking about the one guy
so with one girl
that was talking
this guy he's like
are you black
like right away
oh yeah he was like
why are you saying that?
He's like I can tell you talk like a black girl
And she was like, oh, next.
She's like, I'm not going to date you again.
One girl, her name is Diamond, and the guy goes in and he goes, that a stripper name?
And he was just being funny, but she was like, write it off.
Anyway, it's called Love is Blind.
You can ask whatever you want to the person.
You can talk about anything.
It's like you're on a date with them.
So you can say, describe yourself.
What do you look like?
Well, I was talking to Caitlin last night and I said, hey, because I think that her and I would match in these rooms.
I think because we...
Yeah, personality was.
Yes.
Oh, great.
Bobby's going to start playing this.
game with his girlfriend.
Well, you stay in that room.
I feel like she has already given a few points away on the looks.
I feel like, and I told her that I don't think she would fall for me if we just saw
each other.
I think she's super hot.
If you listen to me talking of, you know, my, I don't put a lot of value in my physical
looks.
But I think that because our sensibilities are the same, like how we live our lives,
we also grew up around each other.
She's from Tulsa.
I'm from Arkansas.
So there's something to understanding how we grew up.
She's funny.
She loves sports.
Like a lot of the main stuff, her values are very similar.
I think that we would hit it off in the room.
I think I'd have a better shot, honestly, in the rooms with her than I did in real life.
I kind of hit the lottery with that part.
So, but yeah, we did that.
Apparently the liches come back on March 5th when they host the reunion special.
Oh, they never come back.
That's just what I hear.
That's the kind of hosting job I need.
Just show up once.
I'm deem the host and I don't go back until the finale.
Because everywhere you go, it's like,
And they pay me and they.
And your name is out there.
That's my job.
Yeah.
That's my job.
That's my dream job.
But I'm watching it.
I'm into it.
People are getting engaged.
Then there's one, I guess one show at the end where they decide, some would get married and some don't.
One of them, the white guy and the black girl, they go back to her town I saw on a preview.
And her dad's like, you ever even dated a black girl?
And he's dopey like me.
And he's like, ugh.
And then they cut away from it.
See, don't know.
Good tease.
Love is Blind on Netflix
And I don't even watch The Bachelor
So this isn't really my type of show
But I can see why people like these shows
But I only have room for one of them
And this is the one I'm gonna watch
And then we'll probably binge it this weekend
Caitlin and I will
Probably starting tonight
How many episodes total?
10?
Okay
Maybe
It's bingeable
So you love when you have a good show to binge with your
Significant other?
Yeah, it's the best
The best
What do people do before?
She got me on cheer
And I was like, I'm not gonna watch cheer
That's not for me.
I was like, cheerleaders.
She's like, just watch it.
And I won't be wrong.
And I watched it.
And I was like, oh, man, I got to tell her to her right.
Bobby Bones Show.
Big Three Stories.
Let's go over to our producer, Raimundo.
Ramundo, what you got over there?
In Kansas, one man was killed by Winterstorm Odell.
13 states issued a heavy snow warning.
The storm is headed for the Northeast.
In other news, Lori Loughlin says new evidence proved she did not know
the college admissions payment she made was a bribe to get her daughter into school.
her hearing begins today in Boston.
And finally in health news, the CDC confirmed the first unknown origin case of coronavirus in California.
The person hadn't recently traveled abroad, and they hadn't even been exposed to an infected patient.
It's a Bobby Bones show.
I live on Reddit, and a lot of times they'll do these threads, and one of them said,
what are some ridiculous facts from history?
So people were posting all these ridiculous things.
So I've pulled some of them.
Number one is, high heels were made for Egyptian.
butchers so they didn't step in blood.
What? That was why they came into existence.
They wanted their feet to be lifted off.
So the high hills that you are now were originally shoes for butchers in Egypt.
Wow.
Isn't that crazy?
I saw a story from Louis Vuitton.
Not Louis Vuitton.
Christian Louis Vuitton where they say that when they make their shows,
no effort goes in to how comfortable the shoe is.
The shoes when they make their shoes.
French fashion designer Christian Louis Vuitton
does not care if the hills are comfortable, just beautiful.
Wow.
That's a real person?
Yes.
Who, Christian?
Yeah.
And he's still alive?
Yeah, he's the designer.
He's so rich.
Oh, for sure.
Loaded.
How much are his shoes?
Average.
Oh, $1,000.
Huh.
Yeah.
That's average, because I would say they're anywhere from $700,500.
Wow.
Crazy, huh?
I mean, maybe more.
I don't know.
Here's another one.
Ronald Reagan was a prolific lifeguard when younger.
He saved his 77 people.
77 saves?
He had 77 saves.
Dang.
Yeah.
I had two.
No, no, three.
Three.
One was a double.
One was a double.
Yeah.
Yeah.
How do you feel about Ronald Reagan saving 77?
That's amazing.
He must have been doing it right before he was president or something.
Like the whole time?
Yes, the whole time.
Active.
Very active.
These are all ridiculous history facts.
In ancient Egypt's servants were smeared with honey to attract flies away from the pharaoh.
Oh, that's so wrong.
selfish.
Mm-hmm.
I mean, yeah, servant, slavery, all wrong as well.
It's a bigger picture.
But just smearing the honey on them, yes.
But it is weird, though.
Like, there are a bunch of flies?
How do we get him away from him?
You smear it on somebody else?
Yeah.
A Chinese emperor escaped an assassin
by running around a pillar.
After two hours, the assassin got tired, bored, and went home.
This is like a cartoon.
Yeah.
It is hard to catch somebody around like a circle pillar there.
I started thinking about this.
Like, it's hard unless you're, you got a step and a half on them.
It's hard.
But you try to get him with that reverse.
Like you go one way, one way, one way.
You're talking to go the other way.
That's what I would have done to him.
I try to get him that way.
Before Abraham Lincoln was a politician, he was a champion wrestler with more than 300 bouts
under his belt.
Lincoln only lost one match in his career and was inducted into the National Wrestling
Hall of Fame.
Wow.
Abraham Lincoln, isn't that crazy?
One more.
People were buried alive so often in the 19.
century, so the 1800s, that a safety coffin was invented so the dead would have the ability
to alert those above the ground if they were still alive.
I wonder why it was so common.
That had to happen once, and the word got out, right?
Like, just one time somebody had to be buried alive.
Then they had to get out, or they had to be clawing on the inside of the casket once they
opened it up, which is morbid.
One more.
Thomas Jefferson and John Adams died on the same day, literally.
July 4th, 1826.
It was the 50th anniversary of them both signing the Declaration of Independence.
So they both died the same exact day, 50 years from...
Weird.
Adam's last words were Thomas Jefferson survives.
He was wrong by about five hours.
But would they both die of natural causes?
I think so because they're both old.
Yeah.
At that point, 50 years after they signed it, they had to be in their 80s, right?
I know, but man, what are the odds?
What are the odds?
That's a fun game, though.
What are the odds?
Yeah, we played it all the time.
That's the game my girlfriend and I played phone.
That's right. That's why she ended up in the pool.
Yep. That's why.
That's what's up. That's fun, huh? You like that game?
That little second?
Yeah, it was good.
Bobby bones.
Yeah.
All right, elder versus millennial.
Eddie's the elder.
40 years old.
Morgan number two is the millennial.
26 years old.
And so I'll ask you guys questions about each other's generation.
Come on.
All right.
Eddie, you're going first.
Here we go.
You're 40, but I'm going to ask you questions only.
Millennials should know.
Question number one.
What character did
Taylor Lottner play in the Twilight movies.
All right, he's the wolf.
Oh, nice.
I don't know if you're right or not, but you went right to it.
Yeah, yeah.
What character did Taylor Lottner play in the Twilight movies?
So his name?
What character?
Edward?
Edward.
It's got to be Edward.
Is that your answer?
Yeah, Edward the wolf.
Incorrect.
Is it Eddie?
It's Jacob.
Oh.
I had it.
Oh.
Gosh.
Would you have known it?
Yes, I have it.
I believe you get the point.
Eddie, I would have went to her what you asked me is Eddie.
Okay.
Are you going to, you're going to, uh...
Challenge it?
You're going to protest?
No, no, that's fine.
I think...
I feel like she would have known it.
I have 100% knew that already.
Eddie, if a millennial ships something, what are they doing?
What are they urging?
Like if someone goes, I ship it.
What are they doing?
What are they urging?
They're sending mail?
This has been said for a long time, so that's not a super new thing.
Like, can you use it in a sentence?
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, okay.
Ooh, it's tough because it kind of gives away, doesn't it, Morgan?
Yeah, it does.
She says no, so I can't.
Okay, repeat the question?
If a millennial ships something, what are they urging?
Ship.
I'll just do this.
I got it.
I ship it.
I ship it.
Post it on social media.
Morgan number two?
I ship that relationship between Bobby and Caitlin.
They're urging a relationship.
They co-sign and they agree to it.
What?
makes sense. It's been out for a while.
I know, but I have never heard that.
I thought it was going to be, like, the new way to say, I'm just going to mail it in.
That's not new, though, to ship it.
That's, like, literally shipping.
No, not mail.
Like, when you mail something in that is saying for, like, you're not going to go.
Like, not really trying.
Yeah.
To mail something, it means to be lazy, put in a little effort.
Right.
So I'm going to ship it.
No, if you ship a couple, like, you agree.
That's right.
I shipped in.
Wow.
Okay.
Eddie.
Come on.
In the Nickelodeon cartoon.
Hey Arnold, what is Arnold's head shaped like?
Ooh, I remember this.
Hey Arnold, what's Arnold's head shaped like?
I think he's like a cone.
Morgan number two, you can steal?
A football.
A football is right, yes.
She stole all three of those, Eddie.
Dang.
I was kind of right with a cone, though.
Nope, not at all right.
It's a shape, I guess.
All right, let's go over to Morgan number two.
Here we go.
Hey, Morgan, Chili, whose real name is
Rosanda Thomas
turns 49 years old today
What group was chili a part of?
I mean, my only guess is the red hot chili peppers
Solid interesting
Yeah
I have no idea who got it. Because obviously there was Mr. Red
The bass is Mr. Hot
And then the drummer Chili
Right, yeah, Frank D. Chili
Yeah, don't forget the pepper
Yeah, yeah, yeah, everyone knew pepper
Acoustic guitar, he played the rhythm
You say red hot chili peppers
It's not
Eddie Chili was from
That's not easy to me, but I'm going to guess TLC.
That's amazing.
Is that left eye?
Left eye and chili.
Sweet.
We're TLC.
What?
I don't know any of those names.
I know TLC.
I don't know.
Left eye lope is RIP.
Okay, Eddie.
She passed away.
On the TV show, the Brady Bunch.
Morgan number two.
What was the name of the oldest brother?
You ever see the Brady Bunch?
Yes.
What was the name of the oldest brother?
The only name I know is Marcia.
Go with it.
I'm feeling good about that one
I know that's not the voice
John
Oh good good guess
Eddie to steal and stay in the game
What is the oldest brother?
Not John, it's Greg Brady
Oh, come on
What do you mean, come on
Greg Peter Bobby
That's traditional name
Marsha Jan Cindy
That's right
In the middle you had
Alice who pop up in the end
And the mom and dad
Oh you're looking at the squares right now
Yeah
I watch the show all the time
Way before we were born, but still.
Morgan number two, if you get this, you win.
Okay.
Who is everyone's first friend on MySpace?
Before your time, but who is everyone's first friend for the win?
I think it's the guy that created MySpace, and his name was Tom.
I'm going to go with Tom.
She says Tom.
For the win.
Show me Tom.
Thank you, Tom.
which makes the score
7 to 5.
Morgan number 2 is in the least.
No. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I need to start brushing up.
Big win, Morgan number 2.
Yeah.
All right.
You won. See if you got these, Morgan number 2.
What's the name of the high school and say by the bell?
And, uh, nope, nothing.
That would be Bayside.
Pong, Space Invaders, Pitfall were all games on what video game system?
Nintendo.
Atari.
And finally, what catchphrase?
whose catchphrase was, I pity the fool.
Seinfeld?
I pity the fool.
What's the deal with pity of the fool?
Is it pity?
No, that would be Mr. T.
But you won.
You're not supposed to get those right.
There she is.
Our winner.
Morgan number two.

Garth, Brunsomech.
Garth Brooks will be honored with the Icon Award at the Billboard Music Awards.
Marks his 20th Billboard Music Award win, and he will accept his award and perform at the show on April 29th.
Keith Thurban dropped a new song. It's called God Whispered Your Name.
Marin Morris announced RSVP the tour featuring special guest, her husband, Ryan Hurd, along with James Arthur and Caitlin Smith.
The show kicks off June 5th in Boston.
I'm Morgan number two. That's your skinny.
It's time for the good news.
With Amy.
So this couple that got married in 1985 had their sister, like one of their sisters,
taking pictures at the wedding.
And then she put her camera in her purse.
Then at the reception, somebody stole her purse, took off with it.
And this is the 80s.
There was no way to track people down or try to figure out the photos or have, you know,
different.
They didn't have find my eye photo.
Yeah, like, nothing.
So they just kind of let it go.
They've been married all this time.
No photos from their actual wedding.
Well, somebody found the role of film
Decided to have it developed
And then went to Facebook
And put the pictures up
And was like, does anybody know
Who these wedding photos could belong to?
Found the couple
And now they've been reunited
With their wedding photos
I never thought they'd see those pictures
Ever.
Wow, that's crazy
It's just the coolest
So Facebook, look at them, being used for good
There you go, that's what's all about
That was Tell Me Something Good
Bobid Mone's show
Boney up the day
Over to Eddie
Who's filling in for lunchbox
A woman in Florida goes down is having possibly the most unusual method to shoplift in a store.
She went to the toilet, put a bunch of toilet paper in there, clogged it up and said, oh, toilets clogged.
When every employee went in to check the toilet, she took $400 worth of merchandise.
Oh, wow. Well, first of all, every employee goes in to check the toilet.
They're like, oh my gosh, it's clogged.
They all come running to it.
But that is created a diversion.
Yeah.
But she got busted, so obviously she wasn't that smart.
There you go.
All right, there you go.
All right, that's your Bonehead story of the day.
On the Bobby Bones show now.
Garth Brooks.
Here he is.
Good to see you again, my friend.
Thank you very much.
How are you been?
Better than I deserve, man.
And then this year has started off fast and continues to pick up space.
So I'm doing great.
I'm always interested on the Diabar tour that you're doing.
You must love to do that.
It's a blast.
Because, and there's such a juxtaposition between the two types of shows you're doing.
Because you're doing dive bar shows, and then you're out playing stadiums.
So you're getting the best of both.
worlds, which is pretty cool. Yeah, it is. And now with the new stage, front rows 360. So you're playing
in a stadium, you got people at your feet, you look, there's people exactly in the same place
behind you. So now you're running back and forth. And what it did for me, what I found it in
Detroit, and I learned by getting my butt kick there was it turned 70,000 people into a dive bar.
So there's a franticness of a dive bar that you don't have to run around like the stadiums,
but now that franticness is in the stadiums. So this is getting good, really.
really, really quick. It's a blast.
So your stage is in the middle now, like what they would call
in the round. Kind of, yeah.
We're still about the 30-yard line of 40
because it's nice to at least have a majority of them in one area
that you can call around. But now that the stage is
totally flat, we're
starting to creep out to the center of the stadium.
Now, yeah, you can feel it.
Do you have to run around or does the stage turn?
No, no, no. This is Fat Boy Slim's workout
right here. This is don't get a gym membership.
Go to a Garth concert. That's the thing.
So you just run around the whole time.
And you try to make sure everybody gets to see the front.
Yeah, I want to see everybody.
That's my favorite thing.
Because in that second or two that you're looking,
they are telling you a thousand times over.
My mom raised me on your stuff.
Or they're saying, thank you, man.
I got through the military,
my time of the military to your stuff.
You can see all the things that they got going out there
and what the song means to them.
And, man, if you don't have time for that
or don't want to hear 70,000 individual stories every night,
Don't go out there because it's awesome.
Garth Brooks is here right now.
What if you have to go to the bathroom in the middle of that stage?
Nothing applies.
You know this.
When you're on stage and it's happening,
you're not even sure your feet's touching the ground.
So as far as going to the bathroom,
you can stay out there for 24 hours and never have to go to the bathroom.
In the NFL, they'll put a tent up, Garth.
I'm just giving you a tip.
Okay, you have to go.
Maybe you need one of those little tints you throw up real quick.
You know what?
I didn't think about that.
You pee in there.
Would you ever pee in your pants if you had to and keep playing?
No.
Okay.
No, I wouldn't.
Would you ever wear a diaper?
I mean.
Great question.
Astronauts?
Like if maybe you're a little sick.
It depends.
Hmm.
Okay.
It devolved.
Thank you very much.
It depends.
I was waiting for it to get to that side of the road.
I was a joke.
I got it.
The Garthbrook Stadium tour.
The next two concerts are sold out, which is in Charlotte at Bank of America Stadium.
Sold out 74, $74,000 tickets in 90 minutes.
And here's what I heard, that it would sell out even faster,
but people put tickets on hold,
and other people can't get them until they realize.
So it's just like it would sell out so much faster,
but people are like grabbing tickets so fast
that some of the tickets you don't even know are open or not.
Yeah, and for some reason it's legal.
I don't know why, but they flush the system with bots that scalpers do,
which sucks because I think scalping should be, you know,
that should be a reason enough for the death penalty for me.
And so it gets in the way.
of the people that really want the tickets. So it's very, it's very sweet though. These are the
fastest sellouts we've had on the stadium tour so far. And with what happened to Detroit this
last week, it's just telling me that this whole thing is just really starting to bubble and really
starting to wake up, which makes me excited, scared, all the good things it wants.
I was watching the country music documentary when it came out. And at the very end of it,
it kind of ends on your explosion. And what I thought was nuts, which I didn't know, and I
consider myself one of your biggest fans.
that the Dallas shows,
when you just, hey, let's just do more shows
because, and what was the reason
that you had to add shows there?
I know they sold out,
but was there some other, the tickets were.
The fourth show was a free show because of scalping.
That's what it was.
And so, you know, we went to D.C.
trying to figure out how to, you know,
how to beat scalping,
but it's just such a big moneymaker for everybody.
So on that one, we just said,
hey, man, we're just going to put it on a free show
for anybody that just don't want to pay scoping.
A free show!
It was sweet. Dallas Stadium. Like 50,000, 60,000 people for free. It was a blast. They were very sweet. We got to do all the cleanups and everything. You know, the songs that we didn't maybe get during the three real ones. So we worked them like rented mules, but they were having a blast. It was fun. When that first pop for you, whenever it was, you went from humongous country star to the biggest pop star country star, everything all at once. Did you know, could you feel that happening or were you so inside of it that you kind of could. Could you feel that happening? Could you sort of? Could you. Could you. Could you. Could you.
didn't see what everybody else was seeing because you were working so hard.
No, also what you're talking about is
is opinion. So I've got my opinion
who the greatest country artist is. For me, it's George Strait.
Haggard is the greatest ever
walked, so you're never going to put your name with those guys.
Ledoux, Whitley,
Randy Travis, those guys.
So it's fun to just to stand shoulder to shoulder with them,
but I don't know if you ever really knew.
Maybe Central Park.
Maybe when you looked up and saw the crowd,
maybe something went across your head like
something might be happening here.
But it was, I think most of all, you just, you're just having fun.
You're just playing.
What people think of you are the names that they're going to put on you, they're going to put on you.
You don't have anything to do with that.
So just enjoy it.
Have fun.
When you swing on the rope at Central Park, are you somehow connected to that so you don't fall?
Or are you just going?
If you're talking about flying over Texas Stadium, they have rules like the FAA has rules,
that it has to have so much weight per wire.
And if one wire snaps, it'll still hold your weight on the other one.
But just to make sure I lost about 50 or 60 pounds for that show,
because I just didn't want to try anything.
But it was fun, something I'll never do again.
Seeing Gaga do it at the halftime show was cool.
And I think I liked her outfit a lot better than mine.
She went flying in it.
And I'm not even talking about the wire, but just you jumping on the rope.
Oh, yeah.
And you're swinging on the road.
Yeah, you just let it go.
You let it go.
What if you fall, though?
I have.
Landing in the crowd.
You've fallen off the rope?
Oh, sure.
shall I fall off the ladder?
I mean, John McBride,
Martinez's husband,
he's holding the bottom of the ladder
when I fall on the East Coast.
And I fall all the way down,
past the stage, past the base stage,
and onto the concrete floor right on my back.
And you get up because your adrenaline's going
and you go out there about 2 o'clock in the morning.
It starts to catch up with you.
And your crew loves you so much,
we're going to York, Pennsylvania the next day.
And at the bottom of the ladder, there it is.
A chalk outline with a headset microphone.
They really think.
They worry about me.
But why were you going up a ladder?
Just, it's just, it's a stupid song.
And the crowd is going somewhere.
And I see it hanging over there, and I think I can make that ladder from here.
I think I can make it.
Gotcha.
And I did.
I remember it being in my hands.
I remember everything being fine.
And the next thing I know everybody was going up.
That would be so cool to have you land on me, though, in the crowd.
Not if this weight, it wouldn't be good.
I was at a Knicks game, and one of the players fell in my lap.
And I didn't want to let them go.
I thought it was so cool.
He fell in, I was like, no, no, no, you stay right here with me.
Did anybody get a pick?
That's it.
Anything goes in the crowd you get to keep.
Garth Brooks is here.
You know, big news announced yesterday.
You are going to receive the Coveted Icon Award at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards.
It's only been eight other artists ever to receive the honor.
So, first of all, congratulations on that.
Thank you.
And thank you for it.
I mean, if you'll look at those names, none of our country.
So this is a reflection of the country music radio charts, which is you guys and the country
music audience. So thank you for it. It's pretty cool to look at the list of decades that you
can pull songs from, and thank you for that. Cincinnati is sold out, 70,000 tickets in 75 minutes.
The stadium tour, are you going to, you add more shows to this? In the next month, we'll announce
probably two of the biggest historic events in our career. So we're really excited.
The moon? Garth plays the moon? Tell me that wouldn't be a show. Let's go. I'm going to go cooler than
that. Oh, wow. Okay. It's sweet. This is going to be fun.
It's going to, it'll be, it'll really enhance and just kind of keep up with a level of stadium shows.
And we're going to keep the dive bars going.
Just had it fun with that.
You made history this year as the first artist to make it on the Billboard Hot Country Song Chart, 80s, 90s, zeros, tens, and 20s.
I want to ask you one question about each decade.
You okay with this?
Yeah.
The 80s.
How much, if you remember, in the 80s, did you get on your first check as an artist when you finally got paid?
Well, you got a signing bonus as being an artist.
It's $10,000.
More money than I'd ever seen in my life.
The biggest job I ever had, I made $9,000 a year up to that point.
So to get it all in one check, it's pretty amazing.
And I guess that's what I remember of the money at that point.
The initial shipment of the original Garthbrook's album was under 20,000 units.
So it wasn't a big, you know, a big massive shipment.
So all I remember pretty much is just playing from bar to bar to bar to bar.
I just having a great time.
In the 90s, I'm going to ask you,
what was it like hosting SNL for the first time?
It was fun.
You didn't know how much they were going to require of you,
and you get their money, they won't let you go.
But they set you up on a tee.
You get to have fun.
Who was on that with you?
Do you remember any of the SNL folks,
the big ones back in the day?
Yeah, well, Will Farrell, you know,
we did the devil.
Fred's got slack,
said the devil's a songwriter
trying to write a song,
so I'm trying to help him out.
It's fun.
Then they had a mango.
on there as well. So it's just a lot of fun. And when you get to be the artist, you don't have to
host. So when you get to be the artist, I'm trying to think of the big guy that played Roseanne's
husband. John Goodman. John Goodman was the guy that he was great, larger than life. But all those
guys were all sweet to me. In the 2000s, you started this decade by announcing your retirement.
The day you were announcing it, what was going through your head? Oh, it was my, you know, Bob Doyle
and Kelly was a tour manager at that point,
we're both walking down the hall
and both of them are going,
man, surely you can think of another word
other than retirement.
Just don't say retirement, retirement,
retirement.
But I didn't know how to explain.
I was going to go away.
And the crazy thing was,
when you first said it,
people would approach you and go,
I hear you're going into retirement
or that come up a year later.
How's retirement?
And then I'm in the grocery store one day
and this kid comes up to me.
He goes, man, I'm 18.
I didn't get to see.
I wasn't old enough to see you.
Are you ever going to come out of retirement so I can see you live?
And I went home and told Trisha.
I said, today's the first day that I think that word is finally sinking in.
And so it was cool that he said that, but it was really cool to come to this town and announce coming out of retirement to start the Steve win, to work for Steve for four years while my baby's finished college and then it would start to come back to her.
Which leads me to my question about the 2010s.
doing these Las Vegas shows, what did you learn or what did you rediscover about yourself as an
artist as you were doing these shows? The songs is what I rediscovered. You can ask the band. The band came out
one of those, one show out of those four years, and we played it, and the songs made the leap
of time. Garth Brooks can be an older artist, but the music, Colin Baton Rouge when you hear it,
and I'll swear to the Bible on this one, we shall be free that summer. That summer,
beaches of Cheyenne,
they get better responses now
than they ever did
in the 90s or 2000.
So it's neat.
And thank God and Alan Reynolds
for that,
for the song choices that they made.
Final question in this little segment here.
Garth Brooks,
do you have a storage unit
that just has your trophies?
Do you have a whole warehouse
of nothing but all the Garth trophies?
No, it's humbling to be Mr. Yearwood
because awards
are for those people that perfect
the art, pretty much, and everybody in this room will, you know, will agree that she's one of the
greatest female singers of any genre. So there is a stack of Grammys that mine pales in comparison
to. So until that changes, we will not fly any awards, her or me in the house until if hopefully
I can pass her, then we'll fly all the awards to it. I do want to bring up, and we're going to
talk about dive bar in a second, because we're going to play it. We're going to play it all morning.
Thank you. Before I get into the newest song, I want to ask about,
much too young to feel this damn old.
True or false that they didn't make that song in number one
because the word damn was in it?
No, no, they didn't make that song number one
because another artist on Capitol,
they had to trade out to get them to where they needed,
which is fine with me.
I love that artist and worship that artist.
But the crazy thing was what surprised them and all of us
is they thought they would lose 30-something stations.
They only lost three stations on it.
So that song, that song still to this day.
That's one of those ones that you just go, dang, that song has legs as well.
So that was fun and it was cool.
It kind of introduced you in the business.
You know, I thought in this business what happens if someone's going to call and you go,
your song's number one this week and you go out in the yard and you scream,
but in this business they kind of know months ahead of time.
So I remember if tomorrow never comes was just entering the 30s,
when a guy named Paul, he was the radio guy over Capital,
came to me, he says, this is going to be your first number one.
and said, how do you know this far out?
He says, I couldn't stop this song if I wanted to.
So he kind of knew it.
So it was the blessing and the curse.
You got to know you have a number one,
but it was, what, four months later, when it happened,
but it was pretty sweet.
All right, Garth Brooks is here.
Remo, can you hit the clip?
We're going to do one more thing here.
Hot Takes with Garth Brooks.
All right, this will be a quick yes or no, quick answer.
Hot takes with Garth Brooks.
Toilet paper, over or under?
Over.
Nice.
Can you recline your seat?
on the airplane without getting in trouble.
Oh, yes. It's my plane.
That's a great one. That's a great one.
When you button up a shirt, do you button it top to bottom or bottom to top?
Oh, that's a good one. I got to tell you, I start in the middle. I know that's crazy.
You just go up and down. I always start in the middle.
You call it a button up or a button down?
Usually call it a Wrangler.
I guess it's your shirt.
It is my shirt.
Is a hot dog a sandwich?
No.
Is cereal soup?
No.
Morning showers or night showers.
Which do you prefer?
Both.
Both, yeah.
At what age should a kid be allowed a cell phone?
It's what it's used for.
I don't know.
It's tough.
Our kids got cell phones when they went into fifth grade,
but back then you could just program what was in it.
and they just had two numbers.
They had their moms and they had mine in it.
That's all they could use.
And finally, does ranch dressing belong on pizza?
Yes, it do.
Yeah.
It belongs on everything.
Kid me?
All right, Garth Brooks is here.
Let's talk about Diabar.
By the way, I saw the, I was watching the video today.
Robert Deaton's a good friend of mine.
Yeah.
He said you did a great job directing the video.
It was fun.
Deaton was there to kind of, he had the net out to help you.
And there was two or three times I fell flat on my face and he saved me.
So it was fun to get to direct that with him.
Learned a lot.
He's bragging on you.
He was talking about how good a job you were doing at that.
He really wasn't needed that much.
It's fun, man.
You know what you want, and if you hire the right people that can get it to you,
then all you got to do is watch it on the screen.
But hats off to the band.
They thought they were going to be there for an hour.
They were there for all night long.
They were there until two or three in the morning.
And they were underwater.
I got a picture that 80-something tanks they went through.
So they were under there a lot.
And so it turned out really good.
Congratulations. We're going to play the song now. You're doing the Dibar tour. You're playing stadiums.
Apparently, you're going to do a show on another planet or another time. He's found a time machine.
He's going to go back to like the 1800s of play or something.
All of that stuff is going to fit this next announcement. Yes, that's going to be good.
It's its own place, its own time. Trust me.
Do you, under the ocean? Like, I know. I literally thought that under the water.
Yeah.
In the sea.
Kind of already did that with Dibar. I wouldn't want to put the crowd through that as well.
We're waiting.
We'll wait.

Here's Amy's pile of stories.
So pancake boards are a new thing.
Like, you know, you're familiar with a cheeseboard, right?
Yes.
Okay, well, it's just like that, but for pancakes.
So if you're looking to host people at your house,
like this is one way to like just make people be like,
okay, this is a whole new level.
You've got the condiments.
You can have everything from fresh fruit to syrup, Nutella,
even ice cream, all the possibilities that you can put on a pancake that are fun,
and you make it in a pretty board.
Pancake board's interesting.
I like you can make a board out of anything.
And you can do like a little mini pancakes, pancakes like in different shapes, which you know
how you do that?
This is, because we do this at my house, you get a cookie cutter.
And so whatever the shape of the cookie cutter is, whether it's a letter or like a bunny
or a heart, and you put that in your pan.
And then you pour the pancake into the hot pan and it cooks in that shape.
A waffle board.
Yeah.
Or if you want to.
to do names because my husband loves to do like my kids names and we got this tip from I think
our friend Mary you put it in a squeeze bottle like a condiment squeeze bottle you put the pink
pancake batter in there and then you can just write on the skillet and that way yeah that's cool isn't
that fun I have a friend too speaking of like mindblones that were so simple her name's Shannon
I think she's cupcake Shannon on Instagram and her kids she makes snack trays for them but what she
does is, you know when you make those little muffin trays and it has all those little cup holes in it?
Yeah. And she puts different snacks in that muffin tray and it's like, this is our snack tray.
And they're like watch movies with the snack tray and it's all different snacks. Oh, that's awesome.
So she has like checks mix in one, like graham crackers and another and just a little of each.
Eminem's in one. That's a good idea. Again, I'd never seen that before. She didn't invent the wheel,
but neither is the pancake board. But I'm like, dang, why did I think of that? Anyway, that's good.
All right, what else? Okay, so Ramundo is getting married in October. And,
You know, he's been involved in his whole planning process, but I have the average dream wedding.
Like, this is what people want out there for their dream wedding, which includes 92 guests.
That's how many people make it good.
How many years, Raimundo?
70.
Okay.
It's held on a Saturday.
What day is yours?
Definitely a Saturday.
Boom.
White, black, and blue are the colors.
Do you have colors?
Yeah, we're going to be in blue boys.
And then I believe she's champagne.
I believe champagne and blue.
Okay.
So she's not white?
Her dress must be champagne.
Or maybe that's the bridesmaids.
Maybe that's probably the bridesmaids.
Oh, I don't know.
I mean, I'm just guessing.
Okay.
I'm just guessing.
A live band.
Oh, that's still being worked on.
It might just be a DJ.
That's fine.
I love a DJ.
I had a DJ.
Listen, bands are expensive.
With the DJ, you can play any song.
With the band, okay, they know the B-52s and a couple of John Michael Montgomery
songs, you know, and which are good, but it's like,
I like the DJ, unless it's like a party band that does all covers for dancing.
Yeah.
And then?
Open bar?
Okay, I don't care.
I don't drink.
Well, I mean, but is he having an open bar or are people going to pay?
Because sometimes people have drink tickets or they pay.
Right.
Yeah, we're doing kegs of White Claw.
Definitely Micklow of Altra.
It's all going to be free, baby.
Cegs of Whitehall are a thing?
They told me they can do it.
Who's they?
As long as he would, he's going to individually dump the cans into the cans.
into the keg. Oh, wow. What are you talking about? You have to open up little tiny cans of white call and pour
them into a gag. Yes, and then he's going to pressurize it and he said it's possible to do it.
Wow. Why not just buy a bunch of white claw and have you drink the cans or like put them in,
or put them in like nice glasses. So I don't, hey, first time ever baby, keg of white claw, why not do it?
Okay. I'm going to, it's probably going to be added to the list of amazing weddings. And then all
speeches under 10 minutes. Oh, that's long. Under. I mean, that's the Mac.
If somebody goes like four to five and they're not crushing it.
Yeah, you're like the, I would go to you for all the speech advice.
What do you, what do you, like say someone.
Here's the thing.
Nobody really cares, right?
Right.
Mostly 95% of people want you to be poignant.
They want you to say how you feel in two minutes or less.
Anything after that, nobody's listening.
And even the groom's like, all right, wrap it up.
Unless you're just crushing it and you have prepared it and you have, like if I were to
write one, I would write it with jokes, stories, jokes. But even if I felt it, go on slow, I'd be like,
all right, because you're not there for a TED talk. You're there to feel a little bit and then move
to the next person. Or if they're really drunk and it's just really awkward. No, that's the good ones.
For a second. Okay. Is that it? Yeah, that's on that one. I've got the top predictors of
relationship satisfaction. So a lot of people can evaluate their relationship based on these things.
And I thought we would go over it with you and Caitlin. And then other people can test it out in
their relationship. Number one. So,
you have similar values.
Yeah, I think so, pretty much.
You have shared interests and activities.
Yeah, I think so, pretty much.
You feel like you can talk freely and openly without being mocked.
We roast each other a lot.
So what we have to do is go, no roast, we're being serious.
We have to kind of call out because we just make fun of each other a lot.
So we have to go, okay, this is a serious thing, no roasting.
So we'll call no roasting.
If we call no roasting, we can do that.
Otherwise, you're just kind of walking in no man's land
because we go at it.
Intellectual compatibility.
Yeah, I think so.
I mean, she's smart, super smart, which is annoying.
I mean, I used to be the funny one smart one in relationships.
No, not in this one.
I don't have anything that I'm the number one at.
The dude.
I guess I have the male genitalia.
Yeah, that's about it.
Any of Bobby's ex-girlfriends that would hear you say that,
I'd be like, eh.
They're not listening.
What do you mean?
You just said, I used to be the smart, funny one.
But I mean, we all have something that we like, hold on.
Everybody has what they're good at, but it just so happens that her things that she's good at,
Caitlin and mine are the same, but she's probably a little better at them than I am.
Let's see, the level of trust between partners.
We get in there.
I think there's a lot of trust, though.
And then getting along with partners' relatives.
I only met her brother, and I don't really have relatives.
When do you think you'll meet her parents?
I almost met him last weekend.
I was supposed to go shoot American Idol, but I didn't go
and her parents were going to be out there, which is no big deal to me.
I'd love to meet them.
So soon, but they live in Tulsa.
Because she's from Tulsa.
So, I just soon.
I don't mean, I'm in her brother.
It's good.
I don't worry about that.
Listen, take me to a family.
That's gold.
I am great with people.
They love me.
All the parents love me.
All the parents love me.
Well, sounds like y'all's relationship is pretty satisfactory.
Well, I would say it's still new.
But, I mean, yes, I'm very happy.
Mm-hmm. Oh, I forgot one. The degree to which the partners express appreciation for each other.
I think she's better than that than I am. We're still figuring at each other's love languages where she likes words a lot.
I think because she's in town tonight. She comes back in town. She's here for four or five days. And that's usually what happens. We've actually not seen each other in 11 days, which is the longest we've done.
And when she left last time, I put a note in her suitcase. Oh, my gosh. That's so cute.
And I, it was a long one
And I would just, I set a bunch of stuff on it
And I just didn't want her to know
Well then she washed it and didn't know that
Then the note was even in there
Oh no.
Because I don't go.
Hey, look for a note I hit.
I just would like for it later at a point
When you're not expecting it to find it.
So did she find the washed note?
She pulled it out of the washer wet
And she thought like her niece had drawn her picture or something on it
And she would try to like
And then she dried it out and could read it after that
But and you can read it
But she loves words.
You did.
Did that? That's so sweet.
What you're done, Amy? That's what I do.
I know, but don't act like you've been in a relationship all the time.
You're doing this stuff all the time. That's like really, really sweet.
The fact that you're so surprised, irritates me a little bit.
Why does that irritate you?
I leave you notes every day. You just never found them.
You know, my love language is worse.
Don't watch those jeans, Amy.
Yeah, no, that's sweet.
I think she thought her niece drew her a picture because I also drew a little picture on there.
Because we had played football in the backyard.
and I drew a little two people playing football
and she was like, it looked like a six-year-old druid.
I was like, yeah, that was me.
She was, what was that?
I was like, it's two people playing football.
But yeah, that's a deal.
But yeah, I'm trying to do words.
So she's better than I am.
I'm learning.
You're learning.
I'm learning, yeah.
All right.
And wait, what's your love language again?
I'm not quite sure.
I think it's massages, foot massages.
So is it touch?
No, just foot massages.
Don't be touch.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I really don't know either.
Maybe that.
I mean, deeds, acts of service.
Words, I mean, I like, I don't know.
I don't feel like you need words from people.
I don't know.
The five lug, look.
You pump yourself off.
Words of affirmation.
Okay, maybe.
Gifts.
It's hard.
I'm hard with gifts.
You're, that's your best love language.
Yeah.
You are a giver.
Acts of service, maybe.
Quality time.
Okay.
You don't need that.
Physical touch.
Okay.
Bobby's like,
How come I have none of these that actually makes sense to me?
No, you do.
I think, I think gifts.
Like, if somebody does something thoughtful for you, that means a lot.
Like, if they put thought into it,
gifts is probably yours.
I'm both.
I think acts of service more than gifts.
Okay.
That's a form of a...
Yeah.
My husband is acts of service.
Okay.
I'm Amy.
That's my pile.
That was Amy's pile of stories.
It's time for the good news.
With Bobby.
Tell me something good.
Kids who happen to be a Nicholas Children's Hospital in Coral Terrance, Florida, in good hands.
Not only are they getting excellent medical treatment, there's also a good chance.
They'll be visited by Alfie, the therapy dog.
Alfie, who has the official title of Cuddle Volunteer, has been roaming the halls of the hospital for eight years, being the Cuddle Dog, putting smiles on kids' faces for eight years.
Do you know why they call them Alfie? Why would you guess?
Alfie.
I don't know.
Eddie?
From the character Alf.
Yeah, he looks like Alf.
Oh.
What's his real name?
From the show Alf.
Gordon Shumway.
That's right.
Yeah.
Everybody at the hospital loves Alfie, and Alfi's been doing it again for eight years.
And so shout out to Alfie and shout out to Nicholas Children's Hospital in Coral Terrace, Florida.
That's what it's all about.
That was Tell Me Something Good.
The latest from Nashville and Hollywood.
Morgan No. 2's 32nd Skinny.
Garth Brooks will be honored with the Icon Award at the Billboard Music Awards.
The award marks his 20th Billboard Music Award win, and he will accept the award and perform at the show on April 29th.
And he was in here earlier and was just a most humble guy about it.
He's like, wow, man, I don't want to talk about that.
He doesn't.
Look at that guy.
What else?
Keith Urban dropped a new song.
It's called God Whispered Your Name.
Merrimor's announced RSVP the tour, featuring you.
special guest, her husband Ryan Hurd, along with James Arthur and Caitlin Smith.
The show kicks off June 5th in Boston.
I love the strategy there with that tour.
She'll have her baby and her husband opening for her so they can take care of the kid.
Perfect.
You just bring the whole family on the road.
I can't wait to be pregnant and bring my husband on the road.
That's such a good idea.
That's great.
I'm glad you could do that.
All right, cool.
I'm Morgan number two.
That's your skinny.
Here we go.
Come on, Bobby.
Our boss will be hopping in the studio in a second.
He will be our guest.
He is ahead of the entire.
country format for the biggest radio company in the world, and he's going to step in and be our co-host.
On Monday, Carolyn Bryan, Luke Brian, Luke's wife, will be in to guest host. Yeah. So, listen,
we got a few more days before lunchbox comes back and kind of taking advantage of getting some real fun
people in here. Do we want to bring Rod in now? Yeah, let's do it. Does he have a drink? Since he's the boss,
does he get to, like, go around the rules of bringing food in the studio because he can create a new rule?
What's he drinking? I don't know. Because when you're the boss, you get to create the rules.
Sure.
Here he is.
Coming in the studio now,
the head of IHart Country,
Rod Phillips.
There he is.
We were debating
if you could create new rules
since you run the show.
Why can't I drink in here?
It's not alcohol.
I know, but for the most part,
we don't allow drinks in here
in open containers.
For example, Amy's got a couple drinks.
Yeah.
With lids.
Although Amy did spill all hers this morning.
In here?
No, just at home.
Yeah.
Well, I put it in the blender
without the lid on
and then it was on high.
and I thought it was on low.
And so I turned it on.
And literally my macho went up in the air
and landed all over me, all over the pantry.
And I was running out the door.
So I guess I'll deal with that when I get home.
So don't spill is all we're saying.
Yeah.
I've definitely spilled coffee on the board before.
I mean, it's been a long time.
Oh, me too.
I've done it.
When we had a board in here, one time it was spilled,
and I'm not sure who did it,
but I know that all of a sudden the board,
it took on the air.
Oh, yeah, it's not good.
And we were like, oh, no.
Oh, get off the air.
We thought we were all going to die or explode or something.
Here's a fun fact.
We're going to get into the morning corny.
Back in the day, maybe two years or so ago,
whenever I came up with the idea of the morning corny,
Rod, our boss said he didn't think it's a very good idea.
Fun fact.
I thought it was a good idea.
I just wasn't sure about the name.
The name's morning corny.
I love it now.
Seems like he's backing down.
I love it.
No, no, no.
It's a good.
Jokes are good, right?
But orny gornin.
That's why I picked that name.
The morning corn,
I get it now.
I did the funny thing.
Amy's out first.
Here we go.
The morning corny.
Which bear is the most condescending?
Which bear is the most condescending?
A panda.
Oh.
Panda.
Oh.
Duh.
What?
I like it.
That was the morning corny.
Okay, over to Rod Phillips, our boss.
Here we go.
A lot of pressure.
Yeah, well, don't talk.
He's giving us Chris Kirkpatrick again.
You heard the show before, right?
Can I get a cue that there's going to be some sound that I needed to wait for?
I mean, what's happening?
We do it every day.
Yeah, that's true.
Good point.
All right, here we go.
The morning corny.
You know, it's leap year, right?
Okay.
Leap day's coming up.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, leap day. I'm probably messing up you.
Oh, boy.
Who do you think you are in Dave Chappelle?
Wait, what?
Everybody, everybody good.
All right, come on in.
Glad to see everybody today.
To be fair, leap day is Saturday,
so maybe Amy was going to go
with some leap day jokes tomorrow.
I might be stealing her jokes.
I don't know.
Are you ready for it?
I thought that was the joke.
We hit the imaging.
Go ahead.
If you steal a joke, it's fine.
I have more.
She didn't write these anyway.
All right.
Raymondo hit it again.
The morning corny.
Do people hitchhike anymore?
I don't even know.
I don't think so.
You know what you do.
Do you know what you do?
you say if you pick up a hitchhiker on leap day this Saturday if you pick up a hitchhiker?
I don't.
Hop in.
Gosh.
What?
Hop in?
Is it because you leap?
Hop.
Yeah.
Eddie got it.
I mean,
disrupting.
Did you write that?
Hey, I don't get it.
Like hop.
Like, instead of leap, leap year, hop in.
Where do most people eat on, on, on, day?
Where do most people eat on leap day?
I hop.
Yeah, I hop.
Yeah, that's good.
But I still don't get it.
But hop and leap aren't the same.
name. Every joke you look.
Close it up, right here, though.
Amy, don't go down this road.
Okay, okay.
No, no.
That was the morning corny.
I actually should support
because I know how it feels
to not have your jokes understood.
Well, he started with a 10-minute, like, pre-monologue.
Everybody good? Both forget to get your drinks tonight.
Sleep to here, right?
So how about this? The election's coming up.
He does all.
It's a Bobby Bones show.
I was reading this proposal story
on Southwest Airlines.
Now, she was on a plan returning from this assistance program in Peru, but she comes, she lands in the States, and she's going to get on a Southwest flight.
And her boyfriend shows up and pops the question.
And he set up the whole surprise with Southwest Airlines.
Now, before she even left for Peru, he set up this elaborate plan.
And they go through, and I just think, you have to know at this point if she's going to say yes, right?
Is there ever a proposal where you don't know?
I don't know anybody that's ever said no
But I mean I'm sure there's people that have been
Yeah
I mean you have to be pretty confident to be that involved
If it's less than 90% in your heart
Do you go forth and ask?
No
Rod, how did you, you've been married for how long?
15 years next month
Wow
Do you remember your anniversary date?
Of course I do
Because she tells you because you're a date?
No, I just, I mean that's not that hard
How did you propose?
I proposed with
I mean, it's a little bit of long story.
How can I make it succinct?
There were, I acted like my car was broken down,
needed to get somewhere, so she had to come to the condo,
pick me up.
She got to the garage, started up the steps,
lived on the second floor.
Rose pedals were...
Nice.
I love the rose pedal.
Those trails were...
It was a trail of rose petals.
Yes.
Up to the top.
Which, by the way, she didn't notice
when she first walked up, which is weird.
Then she had to come out to the garage.
I forget all the details.
By the time she got there,
the ring was hanging off of the mirror.
So, and then I came out from around the corner and...
Nice.
What were you wearing?
Oh, I have no idea.
Oh, it wasn't like a tux or anything?
Definitely not a tux.
Possibly gym shorts.
Did you get down on the knee still?
That's a good question.
I may not have...
Why not?
You did a rose petals, but no knee?
Weird.
It's a weird priority list there.
You want to go extoromantic but not do the normal
romantic? Hey, I had wine set up in the condo for little toes, dardy, and then we went out to
find her parents and have a quick dinner. Did her parents live in the same town? Yeah,
suburbs of Chicago. So we went from downtown all the way out and had dinner. And so you've been
together 15 years now? Yeah. Is that the longest here in the room? Eddie, you?
15. I'm about to be 15. I haven't gotten there yet. 13. What advice would you give me,
Rod? You know me well. I have a girlfriend. I haven't met her yet. I haven't met her yet.
True. She'll be here tonight.
I'm a little offended by that.
But when do I meet her, by the way?
Do I get...
You can meet her this weekend if you want.
You're going to be here?
Yeah, yeah.
We should do that.
Okay.
She looks amazing.
She looks fantastic.
But yeah, you...
What do you mean?
She looks fantastic.
She looks fantastic, but everything about her also looks like a great personality, fun.
She rolls with all your antics.
Like, not everybody can do that, obviously.
Okay.
What advice would you give me?
It's time.
like you need to pay attention
like if this is one that's really good
like it's time to invest
more emotion more time
get serious about it
what's funny is he's had this conversation with me
off the air in my office over the years
a few times.
Was it just like that?
Well he's like hey
what are waiting on?
I'm like what do you mean?
He goes listeners will like you better
if you're married.
Oh no he does care
he does care.
Well personally you need some light balance
we all know that.
Have some balance.
How do you feel about that, Amy?
I mean, I agree.
I think the balance is key.
You've spent enough time investing into your career
that I think now it's in time
to invest in a family.
Have I spent enough time in my career, though?
That's the question.
There's still room for that.
It doesn't mean if you get married
and have kids, you abandon your career.
But I think it's time to make room for that.
Okay.
Well, I will be happy to hang out this weekend if you can.
Rod's the hard.
Rod's got to get a hold of, though.
You think I'm tough?
You should try to get a hold of Rod Phillips
are filling guests for the day who's...
I mean, people say that, but I don't agree.
People, listen, it's hard to get it.
It's hard for me to pick up a phone, but people will call me to get to him.
So, I will come back.
Rod, how long ago did you start radio?
Oh, I wondered if you would ask me that year.
Like, it was a long time ago, dude.
Like, it's been a lot of years.
What year would you say you started radio?
Same year I graduated high school.
Which was?
60.
I mean, 60.
Not cool.
19.
I'm messing with it.
So I started radio.
So when I was 17.
So did I?
97, 98.
You started it when?
Yeah, 10 years before that.
Okay, so the 80s?
Yeah, I'm like Garth.
I mean, Garth was here earlier.
I started in the 80s with Garth.
I'm still around.
Not like he is, but I'm still around.
Did you ever play Garth?
No, never programmed country radio.
Like, that's weird, right?
Yeah.

Our boss, the head of the entire country format, Rod Phillips, is our guest.
guest host. And so I've said, hey, call and ask Rod a question. People have a lot of questions
about radio. Let's go to Corey in North Carolina, who's on the phone. Cora, you're on with us,
obviously the Bobby Bone Show, but Rod Phillips, the head of Iheart Country. What do you think?
Hey, how are y'all doing today? We're pretty good. What's going on?
Great. My question is why, if he's ahead of the country radio, I Heart Country Radio,
they kind of play the same 20 artists over and over again. There's no other artists.
that are played that are actually out there performing and selling out shows and have a large
following. And they're not getting any of that airtime. I think it's a question a lot of people wonder,
Rod. Also enlighten me on this. Yeah. Well, there's different kind of listeners, right? And she immediately
sounds like somebody who's very into new music and variety and all those kinds of things. But actually,
at the end of the day, most people aren't. First of all, we don't play 20, right? If she has a perception of that,
then she wants more. There's probably not enough that we could.
play to please her palette. But most people just want to hear the hits. They're not, they're in the
car quickly running to work. They're dropping the kids off at daycare and they want to hear
Luke Bryan knocking boots, right? So we play that as fast again as we can for the next person
who's now got lunch break and headed out to grab a sandwich. So people want variety for sure.
We know that. It depends on your personal taste and your your bandwidth, if you will, to receive new
music. Most people just don't have the time to process that much new music. I looked, we are currently
playing 71 artists, not 20, just for, oh, good call. Well, I know, I just pulled it up. I didn't know
that. Okay. So there were currently 71 artists. And how it was explained to me, because again,
I don't program radio. That's never been my thing where I program music or sometimes I'll come in
just play songs. How Rod explained it to me a long time ago, because I often said, hey, why don't we
like, be fancy and just play all the stuff that we like? And he's like, well, most people can listen
for like 20 minutes and in that 20 minutes they want to hear the most hits possible.
Yeah.
And most people aren't listening for an hour or two hours.
Well, that's the other great point about somebody like her.
She clearly listens to the radio a lot to get that perception.
And by the way, thank you.
Thanks for listening to a lot of radio.
But that person listens to a lot of radio probably more than the average person and wants just more new music in their life.
Well, I'd like to challenge on something, Rod.
Oh, gosh.
Let's play less music on the morning show and let's talk the whole time.
How about less new artists?
You've been asking for a long time.
Yeah, yeah.
Hey, Corey, I felt like that was a pretty honest.
answer that he also gave me a little insight on that. What do you think about that?
Well, why aren't you throwing something in there in between it? I mean, I know you're,
I get in the car, I am the same music. It does seem like it's playing. I am in sales. I'm in the car a lot.
But why aren't you throwing these other artists in there, especially if you want to have varieties,
you know, having an artist come in and playing them besides when maybe their first album
there come out, like the Pistolani's.
You had a man, you played their song, but we never heard their song again.
That sort of thing.
Rod Phillips, your answer, please?
I love the Pistolannies.
I love that sound.
Not everybody likes a sound just left of center.
So we try to find as far as we can go for the most amount of people to be happy the most
amount of times.
I mean, it gets kind of crazy scientific, to be honest.
We have a lot of data and we have a lot of research.
And it all comes in and says that certain songs are liked by the most amount of people.
Play these more.
So we're just trying to catch you and make you happy for that.
that 15, 20, 30 minutes you have with us.
And I often say this about if there was a way to build ratings, regardless of what it was,
the people that are trying to build the ratings to keep their jobs would do it.
There's never a personal feeling about this.
There's never a, I'm just going to play what I like, because that will be bad ratings.
It's always how do we make the most people happy for the most amount of time.
And I think the most people will be happy if we stop playing music at all and just, we just talk the whole time.
Now, I'll say this too about how long people listen is that they do listen a little more in the morning than they do from 10 to 3 o'clock, which is why we're not doing the same segments every 15 minutes.
That makes sense?
Oh, for sure.
There's more passion to listen to the – people feel like it's how they need to start the day, which is great.
Radio remains crazy relevant.
A show like the Bobby Bone Show, people have to have the show.
It's like a cup of coffee.
I get my coffee.
I get my Bobby Bones.
I see it.
That's a pretty good answer.
I like that.
also I'll say this
that anytime I ever see new
I love new music so I'm a music nerd
Eddie and I are music nerds we love it
we also would just love to come in here and play our favorite new
artists that no one's ever heard of and we do
sometimes but you want to see ratings go down
that's what happens
if you just bring it a bunch of new artists
people are like I'm not familiar with this change
and we've bucked that system a little bit
just a little bit where we do that
and you guys that listen to the show trust me enough to go
Oh, if Bobby thinks it's good, we'll give it a shot.
But when we look at this data and new artists,
or new songs people have never heard her on,
people will like change.
And that stinks.
Because I would also, for my personal taste,
just like to play a bunch of stuff that normal radio does.
So does Rod.
People still love to sing along, right?
So if you turn on the radio, you're looking for a song.
You know, you love, you know the words.
And even if you mess up the words every now and then,
you're in your car belting it out.
People still enjoy that.
I like that question, though.
Corey, put the screws to them.
That's what I can do.
Put those gross to the man.
Got hot in here.
That's right.
Hey, Corey, I appreciate that call, and thank you so much for listening.
Yep.
Thank you for taking my call.
All right, have a good day.
Here's one.
What did Rodsey and Bobby to give him his show?
Ooh, good question.
Yeah.
He doesn't know.
No, no.
No, it's the same answer.
It's the same answer every time.
The most real and authentic, and sometimes not that.
The show wasn't that good by radio standards.
It still isn't, by the way, by radio standards.
Yeah.
And that's why I loved it.
That's why I loved it.
That's why I love it.
It was the most real content out there instead of doing, where's a show prep?
Let's talk about this top 10 list.
I mean, you might do your top 10 list, but it's yours.
It didn't come from a morning radio service.
Mostly because you guys want to bias those.
Yeah, that's true.
Like, we kind of had to form ourselves through being broke.
A subscription to that.
We would have to, I remember all the time ago, like trying to get other people in the
building like what's your login to that just to have we would have to steal logins from other radio
people that's a great point yeah i think now looking back the greatest thing that ever happened to me
was having no resources because i and this is way pre rod by the way rod was the first executive
to ever even talk to me or acknowledge my existence in radio i was at hot springs arkansas
little rock arkansas austin texas nobody gave a crap i couldn't get a meeting with anyone
rod was the first guy that flew in to meet with me ever i wrote a
about it in my first book. And we've been together like 10 years now. I know. I thought about that this
morning. It'll be 10 years sometime this year. And even when I would do things and get in,
trouble maybe is the word, but I would do things that weren't what other shows were doing
and people would hate on it. Rod was the guy that was like, hey, listen, this is what you do.
You should keep doing what you do. There's no need to go and hop in the radio person lane.
So, but we also never had, I never had money to hire co-hosts, bringing Amy in the best way.
because we had no money, so I just hired friends.
We had no money for show prep, so we didn't have show prep services.
We just talked about what we felt like talking about.
Even yesterday, Rod calls and goes, hey, should I be you preparing for something?
I was like, I don't know if the show's not for like 12 hours.
True.
But I appreciate that call.
We'll grab some more callers in a second.
B-O-B-Y.
Bones.
Our boss, Rod Phillips, is filling in as guest host today.
And if you guys want to hop on with us, you can.
877-77 Bobby.
We'll come back.
Rod will give us his Tell Me Something Good.
We will do an ACM nomination.
The category that I'm going to do,
I will announce the ACM
Album of the Year nominees.
So they're actually letting me announce this as a real announce.
I know.
What if I just add a couple in?
Something you want.
Yeah.
And then the it gets printed.
How funny would that be?
It's not even out yet, but the raging idiot
it's alive and Little Rock.
Yes.
Up for Album of the Year.
Wow.
But I will do that.
announcement coming up as well and I will talk about love is blind a little bit.
Rod, have you watched that show at all?
Mm-mm.
Have not.
It's the show right now.
It's the viral show.
It's on.
I don't even know.
Netflix.
Got it.
What they do is they bring in, I don't know how many guys, how many girls, 10 or so.
Seems like it.
And they don't get to see each other, but they date.
And then they propose and they get married.
They talk.
They engage through a wall.
Yeah, interact, but no.
They get married before they see each other.
No.
Once they propose and they say yes, they get to see each.
of each other. Wow. It's crazy.
Yeah, I have a lot of thoughts. And you've seen the first two? Okay, so I've only seen one.
And I didn't see any of your tweets. So I'm super curious. Like, what do you think?
Yeah. By the way, Rod, what is your Instagram?
Instagram is simple. Rodney P1.
Rodney P.1. Yeah. Rodney P.S. Straight up taken?
Uh, good. Probably. Yeah. Rodney P.1 was taken at Twitter. That made me mad.
So I couldn't even do it there.
Rodney P1.
So where are you on Twitter, Rodney P2?
Rod Rodney P1.
Okay, too much.
Too much.
We're just focus on Instagram.
Nobody follows me.
Rodney P1 on Instagram.
All right, back in a second.
The ACM team reached out asking for us to announce one of the categories on air today.
So, by the way, you can see videos of this award and another award two that we're announcing on the ACM Awards account.
So Twitter and Instagram ACM Awards.
Here we go.
And now the ACM Outer.
Album of the Year nominees.
First up, Thomas Rett, Centerpoint Road.
Marin Morris, Girl.
John Party, heartache medication.
Luke Combs, what you see is what you get.
And Miranda Lambert Wildcard.
Those are your nominees for Album of the Year at the A&Ms.
Congrats to all the nominees.
Check out the 55th ACM Awards hosted by Keith Urban,
live Sunday, April 5th at 8.7 Central on CBS.
Congratulations to all of them.
Do we want to pick a winner?
I guess not.
I just announced I can't.
I shouldn't do that.
Well, that's another day.
Save that.
That's another day.
Rod Phillips, who is our boss, the head of IHeart Country, is in studio with us.
I thought we play a fun game, Rod.
And Rod hit me up.
He was like, hey, let's not play a game.
Yeah, I hate games.
I love listening to them.
Yeah.
I cannot play these games.
We're not going to play a trivia game, though.
I want to play hit that post.
Oh,
so what a post, I need some content.
Mike D.
What a post is, is where you talk up to the words of a song.
For example, I don't want to waste it.
Let's do, oh, Bones is so good at this.
Well, I won't waste one because we only have a few of them.
What we're going to do is carry underwood drinking alone.
Your post will be 15 seconds.
That's just the music.
At 15 seconds, she starts singing.
Okay, so you have to talk.
right up into it and then you stop talking
right when she starts singing.
Boy, I used to be good at this.
It's like an art.
It's been a minute.
All right, Raymondo, he has 15 seconds.
Wait, hold on, do I have a radio station name?
What are we using?
It's give me whatever you want.
Bobby FM.
Rodney, P-1.
Rodney 102.
Let's go with Bobby FM.
I like that one.
By the way, is your Instagram private?
Oh, my gosh.
A lot of listeners are going,
why does he give his Instagram name
and then it's private?
Oh, that means you should go through
and accept every single one.
Give me something to do later.
Oh, wow, there's a lot of them, too.
You guys have listeners.
It'll give me something to do later.
He surprised that anyone listens.
Can you just accept them all?
I don't know that later.
Okay, so you'll go public with his account in a second.
Rodney P1 is his Instagram.
Okay, it's 15 seconds.
Hold on.
Carry his first.
Carry underwood drinking alone.
Love her.
Are you ready?
No.
Here we go.
Three, two, one, go.
Oh, I didn't even hear the song.
Oh, my God.
It's not loud.
Turn it up.
Did you hear it?
Yes.
All right.
All right, we had a call around earlier.
She wanted more new music.
You can never do better than Carrie Underwood new music.
Drake it alone, her new single.
Oh, boom.
You said 15.
Time out.
You said 15 seconds.
That was 15.
That was not 15 seconds.
Yeah.
No, I, no, go back and listen.
Ray Mundo, how long was that?
About 10.
Thank you.
This says 15 on my sheet.
Let's do another one.
That was not fair.
I can't hear the music, by the way.
Turn it up.
That's going to help.
You have a volume, but.
Got it. Thank you. All right. Let's do Jake Owen homemade. 13 seconds. Do you need a second to gather your content?
I think I'm all right with Jake. Okay, here we go. Yeah. Jake Owen, better golfer than you ever want him to be. I mean, this guy hits the ball a mile. He was on the pro-am at Pebble Beach. Long baller and a brand new song. Homeade. It's Jake Olin. Thanks for listening to Bobby FM.
Nice job. All right. All right. One for one. We're going to do three of these and all. Long baller. Nice.
Let's do a quick one.
Chasing you, Morgan Wallens, only five seconds.
I think you can nail this one.
All right, here we go.
It's how long?
Only five seconds.
I'm sure it's five?
Seems faster than that.
It's on, I don't, it's on my sheet.
Let's do it.
All right, here we go.
Let's do it.
New music, Morgan Wallet, chasing you on Bobby F.
That is not five seconds.
Guys, I know five seconds.
Raymondo hit it. I'll count it.
Go.
One.
Two.
Three.
That's not.
Five seconds.
Who did the sheet?
Who did the sheet?
Stand up.
Who did the sheet?
Why are all the times wrong?
You're making our guy look bad here.
I sent Mike the times.
My times were correct.
Oh my goodness.
All right.
Sometimes you just have to feel the music, you know?
No, that's not fair.
We gave them.
Oh, we got a text here.
Someone says, Rob has a great voice.
Nice.
Happens all the time.
Rod.
The Starbucks Cup never comes back.
Rod.
It's Ron or Rob?
Ron.
All rods can appreciate this.
It's never Rod.
You might take in a couple questions about your job as a programmer,
someone who's like a high-level executive?
Scott in North Carolina is on the phone.
Hey, Scott, you're on the Bobby Bone Show.
Our boss, head of...
Morning studio.
Morning.
Go ahead, bud.
There we go.
All right, Rod.
Who do you think has the most impact on the way songs are numbered week to week?
hitting the top 10 is the fans calling in? Is it studios? Is it people putting the music out?
It really has the impact on the numbers. Great question. If I understand the question,
at that point it comes down to research. Radio companies do a lot of research to see what listeners
are saying they like the most. It gets moved up in category and you eventually get in what we call
power, right? There's four to five. Some stations have maybe up to seven songs in that same category.
Now you're one of the top five to seven songs. If enough radio stations do the same thing,
you move up and you eventually are number one.
Here's a question I have.
When people say research, what does, what actually happens on research?
Quick, quick recap on that.
Not that long ago, it was literally call centers calling people at home.
Okay, so that was maybe 10 plus years ago.
Or eventually on their cell phone and saying, well, you listen to 30 or 40 songs.
And by the way, when you do that, you listen to about 15 seconds of a song.
And then you give a response.
Now those folks are contacted over the phone and then they're sent on.
online to listen and react to the song.
So when you get research, it's because people are going to, like, thousands of people are going
online and taking tests and going to like this song and don't like this song.
Correct. Correct. That's it.
And then you get a roll it up a hundred different ways.
So we see what people like what they say they don't know yet, what they used to like.
In other words, I liked it, but I don't like it anymore.
I heard it too much. It's one of my favorite songs or I just like it.
All that rolls up into what are the highest testing songs.
So it's not just people making their decisions
going, I'm just going to play this because I'll like it.
There's probably some of those out there.
But I mean, on a high level, on a macro level, like you.
Not on a macro level, not at a major company like IHeart Radio.
Interesting.
How do I get one of my songs in that testing thing?
Do we want to test it?
Yeah.
I don't think we've ever tested a raging idiot.
Really?
I don't think so.
Slook on Twitter, man.
You want to?
Yeah, I did test the crap out of it.
Scott, you still there, bud?
I'm here.
Does that make sense?
Because I learned something there, too.
Thousands of people go online.
Does it affect, like, the Billboard top 10, top 100, based on that research as well?
Same.
Same.
I mean, different charts then do with that data what they want to do.
Billboard acts different than media-based.
But it ends up relatively in the same space.
Most times, someone who has the number one at one has the number one at the other.
sometimes occasionally it doesn't work out that way.
And that's also based on streams.
And so you're even seeing the streaming chart be the same as the radio chart most times,
which shows you that consumption is that radio is most of the time getting it right.
Well, radio is typically a reflection of everything happening in the world of music.
Interesting.
I don't know if it's that interesting.
That's like saying that when I don't understand that is going, wow.
One chart, to your point, is just radio airplay.
and then there's a chart that does take into play sales
and there are some sales still left, right?
Mostly streaming and other consumption.
And most times they're the same.
It was my point.
Most times number one is the same person.
Correct.
All right, Scott, appreciate that call.
Thanks, guys.
All right, have a good day.
See, I like these calls
because I think I'd feel dumb to ask these questions in a room.
Raise my hand.
Let me ask you, how does radio work?
But here, callers can ask.
It's a safe space.
It's time for the good news.
Over to Eddie, who's filling in for lunchbox.
Sean Turner was driving his car right beside a canal, and he sees there's a car in the canal,
and it's slowly sinking.
So he pulls over, he looks, and he sees that there's a woman in the car.
He jumps in, opens the door, saves the woman from the drowning car.
He was going down, and two other people that were driving by helped as well.
So that's pretty cool.
I don't know, honestly, if I would do that.
I think you would.
Here's what I think.
I think you would.
and I think that those stories where people jump and save people
when they put their own lives at risk,
like that's a real-time hero.
Yeah.
Because you could easily get sucked up in that car.
For sure.
Like you're going in, the car's going down,
the air pressure is obviously sucking people in.
But I do think you would.
I think everybody would but me because I don't know if I would.
I'd be like, oh, oh, everyone thinks we would.
Everyone's like, I don't know if I would.
Guys, I don't know that I would.
Oh, you would, though, Amy.
Oh, thank you, thank you.
All right, there you go.
That's what it's all about.
That was tell me something good.

Owning a home comes with a lot of things nobody really prepares you for, including yard care.
Sunday is a company trying to make that part easier.
They start with a soil test and climate data to build a yard plan tailor to where you live,
then ship everything directly to your door.
No guesswork, no dragging bags of fertilizer.
And instead of harsh chemicals, Sunday uses simple nutrient dense ingredients like seaweed, molasses, and iron.
Everything hooks up to a hose, which honestly sounds like my husband.
My speed.
If your yard feels more stressful than satisfying, Sunday's approach makes a lot of sense.

Our guest host has been our boss and the head of IHeart country, Rod Phillips.
And we have a couple more calls, if you don't mind taking calls.
Let's roll.
People are very interested in how radio works.
Not how we work as a show, because I think what we do is a bit different, but how radio and
works, that's what Rod does.
How would you describe your job?
Because you don't only program us a radio station.
Yeah, I mean, I call it oversight of 150 country stations coast to coast and the Bobby Bone
Show.
That's what I tell people.
That's my elevator speech.
But you do us in front, right?
Bobby Bone Show.
Then also, there's some stations.
Well, you know, we try to spread the love.
Let's go over and talk to Pete.
Pete's got an interesting question.
Hey, Pete, you're in Florida.
You're on with our boss, Rod Phillips.
Hey, how you doing?
Good, man.
What do you want to know?
I was just wondering, what's the best way for a local blue-collar worker artist to get exposure?
Because it's very hard for me, you know, just not to really have too much money to invest in advertisement.
So what's the best way to get exposure?
What you think about that, Rod?
Yeah, that's a good one.
I do still think people are able to be exposed on a local radio station, but you've got to be just maniacal about it.
Like, okay, so don't like, show up at the radio station at 5 o'clock in the morning and scare people.
But find out who the people are who make the decisions locally and just be aggressive.
Be Bobby Bones.
Fight, grind, repeat.
I was talking to the guys from Three Doors Down.
That's what they did in Mobile.
They were like, we got on the homegrown show.
Because a lot of stations will find like an hour a week to focus on the...
Yeah, that still happens.
Yeah.
It's real.
So it's that kind of thing.
Well, that's the start of it.
I mean, the other way to do it, if you're in country music, you move to,
Nashville and you try to get through the clutter, but there's a lot of really talented folks here.
So it's not easy.
Pete, also, most artists are broke.
Like, nobody has money for advertising.
You have to move and grind it out and be poor for a long time.
And I don't just mean music artists.
I mean, writers, artists, musicians.
If you do the art, a lot of people think they can do the art, so a lot of people try to do the art.
and so it doesn't pay at all until it really pays.
And there's almost no middle class in art.
And so your story is very, very, very common where most people who want to create and we can do music, they are broke and they have to make hard decisions.
You know how many artists I've talked to on my podcast where they go, I had no money.
And the only thing I was doing is I was working, waiting tables for 12 hours a day and playing two hours at night for seven days a week.
and so my advice to you is
yeah everybody's going through what you're going through
and if you really wanted it
then you have to decide, focus
and eat ramen noodles and bolognaissance
and go bar to bar and barely get by
I don't know what, there are only a couple
rich artists that I know his family was so rich
that they had nets and a little bit I'm like
I roll my eyes out I'm like you didn't even have it hard
you didn't even have it hard you don't even know what it's like
because I was one of the broke artists
who had to suffer for a long time
because I knew what I wanted to do
So Pete, my advice to you is aside from Rod's technical advice is, hey, man, suck it up and just work.
Because there are a lot of broke folks trying to make art.
And if you want it, you'll do it.
And you know that.
I don't have to tell you anything you don't know.
You know what I mean?
Yes, sir.
I'm your biggest fan, man.
I'm at work right now.
I work for southeast irrigation.
I put in irrigation pipes.
And I do my music and my writing, my comedy on the side.
Nice.
at K9 underscore Florida.
Hold on, let's say it again.
I want everybody to hear this.
Hold on.
You got a spot here.
So say your Instagram again.
K9 underscore Florida.
K9 like a dog?
Yes, sir.
All right.
The letter K, the number nine,
underscore Florida.
Got okay.
And as a matter of fact, Bobby,
as a matter of fact, Bobby,
you actually commented on one of my videos,
man, and gave me three laughing emojis.
And I bring that to work every day, man.
I tell everybody about it. I said, man, I made Bobby Bones laugh.
That's what I'm talking about.
Yeah.
Hey, Pete, let me give you another tip. Just a strategy tip.
If you were to write a funny song that's about a minute long for your local morning show or like they may actually go,
while this is so fun, we can play it. And that gets you. It's not just about getting a three-minute song on the radio.
It's about getting people to your Instagrams or Twitters or checking out a stream that you're doing.
and all of that eventually leads up to radio.
Like radio is the major leagues.
Somebody doesn't go from being 16 years old as a ball player to the major league.
Almost never, unless you're Bryce Harper.
So what you do is you go through the minor leagues, which is YouTube,
which is satellite radio, which is streaming, which is,
and then hopefully from the minor leagues you get a shot at the big leagues.
So Pete, I hear it in your voice.
You want it, dude, so don't stop, all right?
Yes, sir, man.
I love you, Bobby Dog.
I don't care what nobody says about you.
Who's saying stuff about me, Pete?
What are you mean?
All right, bud.
Oh, I guess...
Oh, I don't know, man.
You're the one that goes on there saying people say stuff about you.
I listen every day, so I hear everything, man.
All right, but I appreciate you.
Have a good day, Pete.
I remember everything that you should say about you seven years ago.
About me?
When everybody moved here.
What was it like?
Because yesterday we celebrated seven years.
I know in my mind it was miserable for about three of those.
Yeah.
What was it like as an outsider?
When we come in and I go, hey,
Like, I know how I want to do country music.
I grew up on country music.
And I, not only listen to country, but I listen to other things, too.
Which, by the way, is how we do our show now.
Right.
But at the time, was kind of unheard of.
What's funny, K-9 is followed by, you know Mac in Miami.
He does a morning show on, I think it's MIA now.
But radio guy, top 40 guy.
So he's got something going on.
He's got people paying attention to him.
He's followed by the guy.
The last caller.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But coming to this town and to your point being an outsider,
you didn't come from a country radio station and then take on more country radio stations.
I mean, it was out of left field.
That does not go over well always.
And then you came in, like, knocking walls down and yelling at people and having Twitter rants with artists.
And it was awesome.
Cracking eggs, I think you called it, right?
Well, I just like...
Oh, yeah, he cracked a lot of eggs.
You know, it was a different me.
But what I tell artists too who sound very different, I say, hey, yeah, you're always really different until you're the one everybody wants to be like.
Because people will come in and go, I have my sound just, you know, how do we make my sound work?
And I'm like, well, once people like it and pay attention to it and people see that others are enjoying it, they'll mimic your sound.
They'll start to do what you're doing.
So be your own voice and your own sound and let people come to you instead of having to lean into what everybody else is doing.
And that's a bit of what we did.
We just kind of went in and said, well, hope this works.
So you all started seven years ago.
How long in your recollection did it take to feel like it wasn't so awkward and like just thrown into, right, the music row, if you will?
What's today?
One year, two years.
It was really about between two and a half and three years.
Yeah, I would agree with that.
Where it just didn't feel like I was being pounded all the time.
Where less people hated you.
At this point now.
That was the win.
Yeah.
Well, less people hate me.
At this point now, it's we have our people.
We have our people to listen.
We're bonded to our listeners.
We're there for them.
They're there for us.
And everybody else can kick rocks.
But we like for people to come in and be, we're very inclusive.
So I think that's our strength.
We're normal.
We don't have big voices.
We don't try to be anything.
We're not.
We suck.
We're awesome.
Did I ever tell you the story where program directors were calling when we launched
a show nationally and literally having conversations with me about your voice?
Wait, what?
Are we having this conversation?
Because what?
It wasn't like DJ enough?
I don't understand.
Like, how are we going to do it with that voice?
Like, I just don't want to get his voice.
That's funny.
Yeah.
So they wanted more of a DJ voice?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, radio people, some still today, I think, are stuck on that.
Was that just the difference in the country radio?
No, any.
Bobby was, it's been doing radio since 17.
But I've always never had a voice.
Right.
I've always never.
I mean.
I mean, it was working in top 40, that voice.
But I guess maybe the country people were used to.
Listen, I was doing sports radio, no problem.
I was doing pop radio, no problem.
I was doing rock radio.
Yeah, but you were, that's the point.
You were doing it differently and you sounded like a real person.
Top 40 DJs did not sound like real people.
They didn't.
I know, but we're talking to it when he came over to country.
Like, they were freaking out of that.
Well, anyway, listen, we do have a gift for you for coming in today.
Really?
Yeah, was I supposed to bring?
No, no, you don't bring a gift for us.
You're partying gift today.
Rod Phillips, our boss.
They had a Vihart country.
Some people will call it the most powerful man in country music.
Here's your gift.
What do we have?
We all have signed a rod for you.
That's right.
A signed rod.
For Rod.
That's fancy.
Did you turn your Instagram public?
Yeah, I did.
Rodney P1 is his Instagram.
One more call here.
Zach in Florida, we're on with Rod Phillips.
What do you say, Zach?
Hey, how's it going?
What up, dude?
I just have a question.
Why in the morning are the songs just nervous?
not as upbeat.
You know, I'm just wondering if there's a reason why you guys choose the songs in the morning.
Yeah.
Why?
I have a little bit question.
We pay attention to that.
We try to.
There have been so many big hits that are medium to slower tempo.
You've got to play the hits.
But as a programmer, I'm cognizant to that.
We're looking for songs that are both, both hits and upbeat.
People want to wake up.
They want to go.
Sometimes it's just undeniable.
You've got to play those big songs.
But you agree with that, right?
And it's a balance, Bobby.
I mean, we want the best.
You don't play a ton of music compared to some more shows.
I would like to play no music.
I know you don't play.
Can we go into this again?
We play no.
Let's just, you want to see ratings?
Got it.
I'm with you.
Thank you.
So we're going to do it?
But like who's for me, like who does that?
Like if you're saying you get that.
Well, no, no.
I'm going to tell you.
Don't ask him that.
Because he'll have to say, he'll have to say the right answer.
This is what's happened.
That's true.
I sort of have.
Yes.
This is what's happened with us.
We've never been told we can play less music.
We just do it.
And then ratings are good.
And then we're like, we told you at some point in your life.
I don't know what I'm just talking about radio people.
At some point in your life, you have to make a decision that you're going to step out and push your agenda.
And for us, it is we want to be compelling to our listeners because we feel like you can hear music in 5,000 places.
That being said, so we just go, let's just play less music and see what happens.
No, I wouldn't encourage people to do that.
I did that.
My whole career, I've done that.
Rod would not want me to say that to him that I was doing that
because he would go, you should not do that.
Accurate?
Well, did you play music on the Top 40 show?
No, we played no music.
Oh my gosh.
We probably played like one song an hour.
And that's only one I had to go number two.
Yeah.
Sometimes, yeah, it was two songs an hour if yes.
At least you didn't play any slow songs.
Yeah. I like, I just like playing the songs that are good.
I think you have to put,
anytime you're just playing a song because it fits something,
I'm not into that.
I like what Rod does.
You find the good songs.
You just try to mix it up as best you can while not turning anyone off.
We're doing the best we can.
There is no right answer.
If there was, we would be doing it.
Seven years yesterday, we would not be here without Rod.
I'll say this, this is the last time he's going to be with us.
We wouldn't be, I wouldn't have been a syndicated show because I had started spending my own money.
I started syndicated my show with my own money.
By the way, didn't ask the company to do it.
I don't encourage people to do that.
but what I did is I was like I got to get us on the air
We're never gonna being a local show in one city is never going to be a long career
That I wanted so I wanted to be heard as most people because I wanted to make an impact in as most people's lives
That possibly could
But that's a fact you bought you bought equipment on your own money and sent it to the radio station and said here's how to run our show
I've never seen anything like it
So I was like here we go let's go I'm paying for it all and I was making $50,000 a year and spending
27 of it to have these stations running
Nobody cared about me at the other
The first person to ever come to town was Rod.
He came in from Miami, maybe, Chicago.
I might have moved to Cincinnati by then, but Miami or Cincinnati.
One of these places, and I'm in Austin, Texas, at a TruLux restaurant going, I cannot believe I'm meeting with an executive.
I can't believe that anyone gives a crap about what we're doing.
And he said, hey, I see what you're doing, and I'd like to put you on some of my stations.
And away we went in Augusta, Georgia, Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
I can list all these stations.
He was the first person to ever go, you should have someone invest in you as well.
and that turned into us being right here in this room.
And I would like to think that we're part of the reason that you're here too.
Because we came here and then, you know, I was like, hey, I can't do this without my guy.
Well, we were going to fail or succeed together, that's for sure.
So we wouldn't be here without you, all of us, except for Morgan number two.
You never liked her other than that.
Just kidding.
We're working on that.
Amy, anything you'd like to say?
No, I think it was a good hour.
That went by so fast.
That's a fine.
Oh, wait.
Oh, wait. Oh, wait. Oh, you got bonus. Nobody's been here for over an hour. So, I guess,
did it feel good for you to be back in radio for a minute? It's fun to be back at the studio.
I agree. It completely flew by. I think you're hearing me on. I have no idea why anybody would listen.
But that's how we are, right? We feel like, well, nobody's going to care about that. Nobody cares. But why do you look at research? But maybe we talked about radio, has some fun. I enjoyed it. I didn't spill my coffee.
I know, yeah. Wins. All right. There is. This is the last time I'll stand for like three months because I can't get a meeting with him.
Oh, okay.
I text them.
There he is.
Rod Phillips are here.
Mike, is there anything we're supposed to do with them that we haven't done?
Oh, we've got something good.
Wow.
Thank you, Mike.
All right, Raymond, didn't hit that clip, please.
It's time for the good news.
Tell me something good.
Gonna sound a little self-serving, I promise it's not.
Our I-Heart country festival is coming up in May, May 2nd, in Austin.
And this year, we're kind of expanding on what we did with one night for a military.
We're making sure we have active military personnel with families in the room and joining the concert with us, and we're going to bring them there.
We're going to tie into a sponsor.
It'll be announced soon.
We're really excited about it.
Bobby, we're going to have you on stage, shout now to some specific military folks.
We're going to make sure they're literally in the house in Austin all weekend, pre shows, post shows, backstage.
We're just going to make sure the military understands that we mean it when we say we're here to support them.
I'll say there are two things that Rod has kind of accompanied us with,
and that has been support with the military and St. Jude.
You know, a lot of the meetings that Rod and I have are how can we further integrate our appreciation for military
and further our work with the kids at St. Jude.
And so you obviously don't get the credit for that because it's always in rooms and you don't seek the credit for that.
But we would not be able to do that without you.
And also, you without us.
So it's a great team.
Yeah, appreciate the shout outs.
There it is.
All right, there is.
We're back in a second.
Nice job.
There he is.
The Bobby Bones show.
Okay, so I have a lot of friends that work in radio,
and they do all these fun contests where the station gives them money.
We don't get crap, right?
Maybe because we never got crap, we never get crap.
So they're doing these stations, and I have friends that are like,
we're going to do the sound of the day.
We'll give way thousands of dollars.
And I'm like, who, how did they get the budget for this?
Somehow, we're a national radio show without a national radio.
video show prize budget.
So here's what I've decided we're going to do.
We're going to play a game called What's All That Racket?
Where I'm just going to play you a sound.
And as always, I'll be giving my own money to a listener who can name the sound.
And if they miss it, what happens is in some of these contests, it'll be like,
The Secret Zounds worth $1,000.
And if it rolls over tomorrow, it goes to $1,100, then $1,200.
That's not what's happening.
Oh, you're not doing that.
I have $5.
Oh, starting at $5.
Starting at $5.
If you get this sound, I give you $5.
Okay.
So I'll play it and you can call and see if you can name it.
Or do you want to get people on the phone first?
Let's get them on first.
Okay.
Call us 877-77 Bobby.
We're going to play What's That Racket?
And you'll just listen and see if you can name the sound.
If you get it, five bucks in your name.
If you don't, it rolls over tomorrow, $6.
Oh, $1 at a time.
Oh, wow.
All right, all right.
And then maybe seven after that.
We're sparing nothing here.
Oh man, I draw my Sharpie on my sweatpants.
Oh, no.
What color of your sweatpants?
It's my favorite sweatpants too.
Dang it.
I still have a shirt where we did a meet and greet and Bobby would put his arm around me and right on my right shoulder.
I still have all the sharp marks.
I don't know what you're talking about.
That was a long time ago.
Bad story.
Let's do.
Oh, man.
I hate me right now.
I'm so I felt earlier today.
When you ever, you turned a blender on?
Oh, I hated me.
I hated me.
me. I screamed so loud. My kids probably thought I got murdered.
Guys, it's okay. Amy put her
smoothie that she makes in the morning in the blender when she usually goes on
slow and she had no lid but it was on fast. It was on high.
It went everywhere in her house.
Everywhere, every. All over me too and I had a go. So I showed up here wet.
Does Sharpie come out of sweatpants?
Ooh, no. No, man.
It's just probably not. I'm telling you.
What you do? Just put marks all over the pants. It'll look like it's...
I did that.
Where did it drop?
Well, right on my ding-dong.
Okay, great.
In elementary school, I was in the bathroom and had on, like, some khaki-ish tight pants,
and I had some pee on them.
And so what I did is I went to the faucet and just put water all over my pants on the front.
So it just blended in.
Smart.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
Here you go.
Dip a cloth or sponge and rubbing alcohol and dabbed first around the stain, then directly on it.
You should see ink transfer to the paper towel.
Do we have any alcohol?
Can we find some here in the building?
I got a beer.
In the fridge.
First of all, why do we have beer, if not alcohol?
There's a fridge over here with beer in it.
After the stain is removed, we wash the clothing.
Can we see if we can find a...
Check if in first day they have alcohol swabs?
I'm really set on these.
These sweats and not...
Those are your favorite sweats?
Yes.
These are my favorite work sweats.
Okay, let's go over to Krista in Indiana.
Krista, you're on the Bobby Bone Show.
Do you want to play?
What's that? Racket.
Two.
Okay.
So, up for grabs.
$5.
Don't patronize me.
See if you can tell what the sound is.
I don't know what the sound is.
So here you go.
Okay, could you hear that?
Sort of?
Sort of.
Can we try it again?
Yeah, we can.
Can you write on the screen what that is so I can see it?
I don't know what this is either.
I can guess.
Are you doing options or just what is it?
No, just what is it?
Eddie, we're playing for money.
Stakes are high.
He's not going to help me get his $5.
Yeah, I'm not trying to help that.
That's what that is?
There's no way.
Is it hard?
No.
Is it hard?
You know, I mean, you know what this is, but I don't hear it.
Let me try again.
Hit it.
So you do hear a woman laughing at something,
and that's what we're trying to hear, that big, ah-ha-ha thing.
Okay.
Krista in Indiana, for $5.
What's that?
Rackets.
Sounds like a bunch of birds.
A bunch of birds.
Okay.
Yeah, squawking of some sort.
Is it a bunch of birds?
Hmm.
No.
Wow.
I'm bummed.
I'm really bummed, but I'm thrilled that I got to be on it.
Oh.
The first ever contestant on.
What's that racket?
All right.
I know.
Have a good day, Krista.
Thank you so much, Bobby.
Bye-bye.
You too.
Bye.
Let's move up to six bucks to play with another one.
Yes.
Cam.
Hello.
In Wisconsin.
Morning studio.
Morning.
Would you like to play What's That Racket?
I would love to play What's That Racket?
All right, we're at $6.
Now, would you like to hear it again?
I would.
Okay, here we go.
All right, Cam, there you go.
Okay, it's definitely some kind of animal.
And she already said birds.
I was thinking chicken, but maybe it's...
Some kind of other farm animal, like maybe...
You think it's an animal.
Are you dedicating yourself to animal?
I'm dedicated to animal.
Okay, so that sound is...
I'm going to say it's a pig.
She says a pig for $6.
Is it a pig?
No, I'm sorry.
You did not win.
Hey, thank you for playing though.
Where do you live in Wisconsin?
Green Bay.
Where?
Green Bay.
Oh, nice.
All right, thank you.
Have a good day.
All right, bye.
Thanks.
Bye.
We'll play again.
If you call, callers want to hop on.
With that same racket?
Yeah, yeah.
We're not going to say what it is today.
Amy, come look at this.
Do you want to see what it is or now?
I mean, I have no idea.
You have to walk over here.
I can't show you.
Her foot's asleep.
The yellow.
Did you know that?
Would you have guessed that?
No.
The video has 1.2 million views on Instagram.
Okay.
We'll play again some other times.
as we played
What's That Racket?
They brought me
alcohol wipes
to try to wipe
the permanent marker out of my sweats
That's what I get for wearing sweats to work.
Dab it.
Don't rub it.
Dab it.
No, no, no.
Not like that.
Oh.
He did the dab.
He's all like...
I called Amy.
Speaking of dabs and kid things,
I called Amy a FaceTimed her.
I don't call people really.
I FaceTimed her.
her daughter answers. It goes, she can't talk.
Oh. And I was like,
sure, why are you answering the phone? And then I see Amy
the back and go, you interrupted her TikTok.
Yeah. Now she takes my calls and says,
she can't talk right now.
Until I get done with my calls, it interrupts the TikTok.
I'm probably going to TikTok a little bit this weekend.
Because Caitlin will be in town. We enjoy TikToking.
Yeah. If y'all ever want to
TikTok with kids. Collaborate? Yeah.
That's what they do.
Collab? Yeah, they do collabs.
You guys got matching. You guys got matching.
We got a couple matching things we're doing this.
weekend. Can't wait to see that. Okay, well I'm not going to say anything. I'm on TikTok,
Mr. Bobby Bones.
Oprah said she had a one-night stand, which I thought was interesting.
Recently? With who? Well, just in general. Did she say with who?
She played a game of never have I ever, and she had a one-night stand in the early 80s.
Okay. I have never had a one-night stand, and I guess I'm...
I don't know. Like a little bit of me wonders I'm going to get old and go, man.
You're going to regret not having that? Well, did I not? Just didn't go crazy.
But I never have.
But she said she has never sexted, been to a strip club,
pole danced, or gone skinny dipping.
I haven't done any of that.
No.
I should.
I should do it all today.
All in one day.
Just get it all out of my system.
Yeah, Gal King, Ashley Graham played Never Have I Ever.
Leo DiCaprio gave directions to a stranger in New York City.
This guy was lost.
And somebody just said, was hey man, can you help?
I didn't know it was DeCaprio.
In the photos, the actor had his phone out and was given help to the
person.
Just walking.
That's cool.
Imagine the guy you go up to it.
He probably didn't even notice.
But wouldn't that be crazy?
Yeah.
Do you see back on the internet that you went up to DeCaprio and never knew it was Leo DeCaprio?
That would be kind of fun.
If you guys want to be part of the show, you can always call us 877 Bobby.
Prince Harry is not Prince Harry anymore.
He's not just Harry.
Harry and Megan.
Just all Harry and old Megan hanging out.
guess, but the queen's like you can't use the royal titles anymore.
Man.
But so it's just hairy.
Eventually, this is going to be a thing where they aren't together anymore and he goes back
to the royal family and was like, I was wrong.
Really?
Don't we feel like that's what's going to happen in the end of this?
We don't.
No, I'm hoping not.
They'll be back in the royal family or he will be back in the royal family eventually.
You heard it here first.
That'd be a good bet.
Hey, Ramundo, what do you think the odds are in that one?
I can look it up.
I'm sure they got it on it.
Wow.
Prince Harry wants people to just call him Harry now.
Yesterday I made his first UK appearance since moving to Canada.
By the way, he lives in Canada.
Man, crazy.
I love Canada.
I think people are so nice.
It's just, it's cold.
Always?
More than I would prefer.
But it's like I love Boston, but it's too cold.
I love Chicago.
So it's cold.
Too cold.
But there's seasons.
And it's like, the cold is super cold.
I don't like seasons.
Boston and the spring and the fall is so amazing.
They don't like seasons.
In the summer.
In Arkansas, we had seasons.
In Nashville, we have seasons.
I'm not into seasons.
I don't like cold.
Austin, not really seasons.
Love it.
Yeah.
I like to have sweater on my underwear ring all year long.
That's what I'm really thriving.
It's a good description.
Love that hot.
Love that warm.
Instagram, Mr. Bobby Bones.
You can listen to the entire show.

Morgan, what are some things that people would like to listen back to today?
Well, we had Garth Brooks on, and he talked about his career in decade form,
so highlighted all the decades of his past career, I guess.
We also played Hot Take with Garth Brooks, where we asked him things like,
can you recline your airline seat?
And he had a really funny answer to that.
Toilipaper, over under.
So that entire Garth Brooks interview is up.
What else?
Amy found out that she was allergic to something.
So we heard about that.
Yeah, in detail.
A little too detail, but good.
That was too much?
No, I mean, yeah.
Yeah, what else?
And then our boss Rod was on as our guest host today.
All right, there you go.
So thanks to Rod Phillips for hosting today on Monday,
Caroline Bryan, Luke Bryan's wife, will be into guest host.
So fun.
All right, that's the deal.
What's up?
Amy, over to you.
I have a friend coming in town today.
So then I'll have two friends.
staying at my house. So we have a full house. So I'm excited. Go to the airport, pick her up, and then
I don't know. Hang out. Where are they both staying? Well, Kara is out in the garage apartment,
and then Mary's flying in. She's super close to my kids. So she'll sleep with Stasheera tonight.
And then when Kara leaves, she'll go out to the garage for the weekend.
What's it like to have friends? Like a lot of friends. That's cool. That sounds fun. No, it's
a goal for me one day. So. I'll see. What about you?
Caitlin's coming to town. So she'll be, she gets here tonight at eight or so.
Pick her up. She's here Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. So five days here.
Awesome.
She's going to Tampa with me to do the show Sunday. Yeah. Cool.
That's it. We'll see you guys. Be sure to check out the show. Check out Amy's podcast.
There's a new episode up today.
Yes. Lots of different things. We talk affirmations, benefits of CBD oil, and some good interviews with people.
Four things with Amy Brown. And we'll see you guys tomorrow. Bye, everybody.
