Starting point is 00:00:50 Yes. Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift, who said that for the first time. I actually, I thought it was. I got that wrong. But, hey, no one's perfect. We're pretty close, though. Listen to the Nick, Dick, and Poll show.

Behind the scenes with a member of the show. What's up, friends? Happy weekend. Ray Mundo is joining me this weekend.
Starting point is 00:03:08 What's up, Ray? What up? How are you feeling? Feeling good. Yeah? You're having a good week, a good life right now? Yeah, life's good, week's good. It was an easy week for us.
Starting point is 00:03:18 The more traveling bones does, it's harder on the front end, simple on the back end. Yeah. That's some inside baseball. Yeah, I tell my wife, I'm like, oh, it's two a days. You know, don't touch, not touch me, but don't talk to me the first couple days, but then after that I'll be in the best mood ever. And then she understands it.
Starting point is 00:03:35 She's like, oh my gosh, you are in a lot better mood. And I'm like, yeah, it's just like that. You know, when you double up your workload, it tends to affect your attitude. So she can touch you, but not talk to you. I didn't mean to say that. I didn't mean to say that. Oh, yeah, I feel that. No, it's always chaos.
Starting point is 00:03:50 And this week has been a little chaotic, so I do feel it. But how's country life? Any updates in the. personal life over there that we haven't known about shared. I've been saving money trying to pave our road. Apparently some of the neighbors are saying, are they ever going to pave their driveway? Oh.
Starting point is 00:04:05 And we are. That's the answer. Is that we are going to pay it? Is it right now dirt? It's gravel. Okay. It just, it's a process.
Starting point is 00:04:16 Guys, listen, the cost of cement in this country, diesel fuel, all that stuff. Diesel fuel. That affects it. Okay. And I'm assuming Bay's dad. would be helping with this or no? Yeah, he's our contractor, so he's able to give us the best people, you know, to go for.
Starting point is 00:04:32 But what I've been taught when it comes to cement is once it's the actual rolling the truck that costs so much. So once they're out there, just have them cement everything. So I may have just, they're going to cement all two acres. I'm just going to have a huge. No more grass. Yeah, it's going to be just cement. It's going to be awesome. Like we'll just have all cement, no yard, no green, cover it all.
Starting point is 00:04:53 Pickleball courts, basketball courts. Yeah, are you thinking about that? No. Yeah, I'm going to put a pickleball court in my yard. I figured Bay would really love that, you know? What percent of the world can put a pickleball court in their yard? I could see you doing a basketball court, like a makeshift one, like not actually doing the whole setup, but like just give me a concrete and I'll install
Starting point is 00:05:14 like a plastic basketball hoop. Definitely thought about the basketball just because there's so many neighbor kids. Yeah, so you can start playing with the neighbor kids. Yeah, because I met them the other day. They're really nice and they don't have a basketball hoop. See? What if the cool guy at the end has a basketball hoop and they come over and play? You can be the cool uncle.
Starting point is 00:05:31 Yeah, yeah. So I'm down to play that role, but also I'm now getting close to 40. And if you guys have heard on the show, so I'm actually going to be 41. Wait, yeah, you're already 40. I'm 39, but yes. No, we're not going to this. This is the stupidest thing over. We're not walking down the.
Starting point is 00:05:48 You guys start talking about this and I check out. I'm like, bye. So you want me to explain it? No, I really don't. But, okay, so 40, 41. When is your birthday? September. Okay, so are you going to do something big for the big year?
Starting point is 00:06:04 We planned Vegas with some of our friends, but apparently they were kidding all along, and they kind of had a kid along that same process, so that complicated things. Wait, hold on. The Dodds. Like they got pregnant? Yeah, well, they were already kind of pregnant. But the Dodds, Eric Dodd, Anna Dodd, me and Justin, all my friends are, turning 40 the exact same year.
Starting point is 00:06:25 So are you guys having like a big blowout together? Was that the idea? We should. We were all going to go to Vegas. But then that kind of fell apart. And yes, we should definitely all do a dinner. I'll do a bar or two or three, which will probably happen. This is the big 40. This is the over the number.
Starting point is 00:06:42 I'm down. As they say in all the decorations. Let's do it. I mean, you have to. Yeah. I'll come. I'll come party with you. Okay.
Starting point is 00:06:49 For your 40th? What, you're like the, you're a 20 year old category. coming with the 40-year-olds? I'm in the 30s. I thought the music we have is what do 26-year-olds care about? Right. That was literally when I first started the show so many years ago. We talked about this. I think everybody was shocked to remember that I joined the show when I was 23 years old. This is wild. But now, yeah, I'm 31. So I'm in the 30s. I can hang. Rock. So let's do it. But you should go all out. I will, but that's five months away. Yeah. Does it feel weird? Like, do you feel like it's daunting that that number is coming up? Or are you,
Starting point is 00:07:23 just whatever. No, I'm not. Yeah, I learn with my wife. You appreciate the birthdays. You know, you go out on 65, you get killed today. Not to bring it down. That was really dark. We had to go in that direction.
Starting point is 00:07:41 I really never know where this is going to go with you. And it's either roasting me or it goes dark, really. I ain't roasting you because I thought that was funny, but it's not funny anymore to roast women. You changed man? in the last, I don't know, six weeks? Yep. Because you for sure rusted me on the last one.
Starting point is 00:07:56 No more roasting. Oh my goodness, Ray. Okay, the babies, the little spermies that you have hanging out of it. 23 eggs at Vanderbilt. So eggs, sorry, not sparing. You threw me off with your dark joke. The beauty of freezing eggs is you can have kids whenever you want.
Starting point is 00:08:16 We could honestly, in theory, have them when we're in our 60s. I know. And you guys, you guys say that. So is there still conversations happening in surrogate conversations? Or are you guys just like, whatever. If it happens, it happens. We both are just so happy right now. A kid is a lot.
Starting point is 00:08:34 Yeah, it is. And maybe we weren't meant to have kids. That's okay. You have to ask that question. You have to answer it. Yeah. Whenever you're prepared to answer that and are okay with the answer, then you can decide if you're supposed to have kids or not.
Starting point is 00:08:49 I totally get that. I will kill a kid. Like, I'm telling you, my nephew comes to town, and I am cool with him for six hours, Boomer. And by the end of those six hours, I am ready to kill him. They're so dirty, they're messy. Your house will be filthy. It'll never be the same again. Bezor will probably have to quit her job.
Starting point is 00:09:10 We'll have less money. I'll come home. I'll never get good sleep. Bones up my butt. Never mind. It's actually not as hard as it used to be originally. So maybe I could actually have kids. the job used to hours-wise
Starting point is 00:09:24 I put even more hours into it but now I have a production team I have Kevin I have Pitts I have Mike D Steve I used not have any of those people Yeah At that point I could have never have kids But I do also think
Starting point is 00:09:36 You've also had more Put onto your plate and on your role With having more of a production team now too Correct but I could sleep in a little bit more Just because we are so proactive And so productive with a couple of things And efficient now Could I sleep in a little bit more
Starting point is 00:09:50 and not work out before work, yeah. And so maybe I'd do that with that with kids. Schooling, schooling, I guess that'd be fine. Beezer, take care of them. Breast milk. She can't have breast milk. Listen, Ray, there is zero pressure from me. I think you guys should do whatever makes you guys happy and what feels good to you guys.
Starting point is 00:10:09 I support you guys no matter what. I mean, it would be so hard having a kid. They would, I mean, they'd drive me to be an alcoholic. You really chose darkness. Our cat right now, we can't even deal with a bengal cat, much less a kid. What's happening with a cat? Randomly, whenever Beezer does Peloton or does her stretches on the ground or she does this walking mat, she has so many different things she does. Or she does arm workouts, stretching exercise, if I already said that, the cat attacks her.
Starting point is 00:10:42 And it's like bit her and like scratched her. and so now we've gone two days without the cat attacking her. Okay. And we think it's something to do with pheromones or something or when she sweats, the cat thinks she's a different person and attacks her. Are you able to, like, close the door to where she's at so the cat can't be in there? We now do that, and she's scratching the paint, and I'm like, that's what a kid would do. That's why I can't have kids.
Starting point is 00:11:03 Okay, pro tip here on that door, because I'm assuming she's scratching the door to try and get in. A little bit, but you can't even really tell, so. Well, to help you out, my sister and brother-in-law, they have four dogs. And so, like, there's this door in their back that, like, when they leave, it's, like, chaos. They put a little piece of plexiglass on the door, so now they don't scratch it. Okay. So, pro tip, it was, like, something they did. I was like, that's actually brilliant.
Starting point is 00:11:25 I'll talk to the father-in-law. See, it's, like, super easy. Just, like, plastic just to cover and protect your paint in your door, wherever she is scratching. Got it. But that's crazy. Yeah, it's easy. Like, you can just sticky it. You don't have to.
Starting point is 00:11:38 Well, you're a handy woman. Well, yeah, I am. But, like, you can easily do this one, I promise. Okay. This is an easy buy stick. It's on the thing. Got it. You don't have to even use nails, a hammer, anything like that.
Starting point is 00:11:49 But yeah, so we're trying to handle a bangle cat, and then we'll deal with a dog, a kid, all that. How old is your eyes as cat now? Two. Okay. And she's terrible. Yeah? She's a little tear. She's getting better.
Starting point is 00:12:03 We've trained her with some stuff. But it just gives me a taste of children. I can't do it. Can't do it with a bengal cat, so I can't do children. Ready to kill this cat. are we supposed to just live on this planet wanting to kill your own kids and your cat every second? No, you're supposed to enjoy these moments. I think you're really going through it right now, right?
Starting point is 00:12:23 No, I'm really not. But that's just kind of what we've been dealing with. But yeah, we haven't really talked about kids. Just because the beauty of freezing eggs, I don't think my parents had that option when they were younger. So they had us when they were 25. Completely different world that we live in. We literally could have children in our 50s. You know, that's 10 years from now.
Starting point is 00:12:41 And we could be alive for a ton of the kids. their life. So I think once I explained it that way people go, oh, wow, I guess there is no rush to have kids when you can freeze your eggs and a surrogate would carry them because my wife couldn't carry them. Yeah. Hey, listen, I like you guys. I think you guys have fun all the time
Starting point is 00:12:57 and you should go do whatever you want to do. I just have always, every time I come and put you guys on for the question. It's always what's the update on the eggs? What's going on with the kids? And so I just naturally now, I'm like, I'm just going to ask Ray to give me life updates. to share. Or the other option, go to a high school. You adopt an 18 year old kid. You babysit
Starting point is 00:13:19 him for one year and you say, best of luck. You pin a $20 bill on his chest and you send him to college. And guess what? You just had a kid. You know, the things and ideas that go through your brain, right? You just throw me in a different planet when we do this podcast. There's 18 year olds out there that are lost. You're not wrong. They need one year of parenting from the foster care system. One year and I can give them that year. Okay, but maybe 17, because then they turn 18 and legally they're an adult. Do you think bones would care if I bring it my 18 year old son up here and he just like sits out on the couches? He's like talking to artists and stuff. He's like hitting on Amy. He's like hitting on
Starting point is 00:13:58 you. Hey, son, seriously, what did I say? Don't hit on Morgan. Literally just do your homework and go sit on the artist's couch. Yes, all the artists are coming through there. Just act like they're not there. Probably not. No, I don't think he would appreciate that, but... You did what? You hit on Megan Maroney? Oh my gosh. You grabbed Megan Moronies butt. Oh my, that's what I'm gonna have to deal with as a parent. You've really considered all your options here. Freaking Amy coming to me, hey, you're 18 year old. He was like giving me a shoulder massage, and I feel like he crossed the line. My kid was doing what? Okay. Hey, Laura. I need you...
Starting point is 00:14:35 You're really taking all of this to the extreme. You know that, right? Yeah, you need to come here. Um, Beezer. Uh, Amy said that our 18 year old son gave her a shoulder massage or something. So we got to deal with this now. I don't want to deal with this stuff. Okay.
Starting point is 00:14:49 Hey, guys, there's your update. Ray is really passionate about these experiences that he has yet to have. You did what? You kissed Morgan. Oh my goodness. That's my co-worker. You're done. You're tapping out.
Starting point is 00:15:01 She kissed you back. All right. We're going to take a little break here and reset on Ray's ridiculous ideas. But, you know, sorry. Sorry, Beezer. I'm not sure where he's going off right now. I went and sat on the little ottoman in front of him. Hi, Dad.
Starting point is 00:15:18 And just when I said that, my mom comes out of the kitchen. She says, I have some cookies and milk. This is his badass convict. Right. Just finished five years. I'm going to have cookies and milk at him mom. Yeah. On the Ceno Show podcast, each episode invites you into a raw, unfiltered conversation.

Starting point is 00:16:27 This month, hear from top streamer, Zoe Spencer, and venture capitalist Lakeisha Landrum Pierre, as they share their journeys from starting out to leveling up. If I'm outside with my parents and they're seeing all these people come up to me for pictures, it's like, what? Today now, obviously, it's like 100%. They believe everything, but at first it was just like, you got to go get a real job. There's an economic component to communities thriving. If there's not enough money and entrepreneurship happening in communities, they fail.
Starting point is 00:16:56 And what I mean by fail is they don't have money to pay for food. They cannot feed their kids. They do not have homes. Communities don't work unless there's money flowing through them. Listen to Eating While Broke from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get. Starting point is 00:18:37 listen to podcasts. Hi, I'm Bob Pittman. Chairman and CEO of IHeart media, and I'm kicking off a brand new season of my podcast, Math and Magic, stories, from the Frontiers of Marketing. Math and Magic takes you behind the scenes of the biggest businesses and industries while sharing insights from the smartest minds in marketing. I'm talking to leaders from the entertainment industry to finance and everywhere in between. This season on Math and Magic, I'm talking to CEO of Liquid Death Mike Cesario, financier and public health advocate Mike Milken, Take-2 interactive CEO Strauss-Zalnik. If you're unable to take meaningful creative risk and therefore run the risk of making horrible creative mistakes, then you can't play in this business.

Making consumers see the value of the human voice and to have that guaranteed human promise behind it really makes it rise to the top. Listen to math and magic, stories from the frontiers and marketing on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you could try. your podcast. After that fun tangent, I'm glad we got the live updates. Good to know how life's going for you, Ray. Yes. I want to know if you have inherited a trait. Maybe it's from your parents.
Starting point is 00:19:51 Maybe it's from a brother. Maybe it's from grandparents. The reason I asked this is because I cleaned out my closet the other day and Ray, I had 45 plus boxes. For what reason I have no idea? For boxes, I didn't even have half of these shoes anymore.
Starting point is 00:20:08 They've been given to Goodwill years ago and I still, for some reason, have these boxes. This is things that I inherited from my mother who also does this and keeps all of her boxes. You need a pack rat? Like it's something with boxes. Something with boxes.
Starting point is 00:20:23 And I don't understand. And I'm really trying to be conscious of it. Like when I get Amazon package, I immediately recycle the boxes because I'm like, these cannot stay in my home. But somehow I curated a collection of 45 plus shoe boxes in my closet for no reason.
Starting point is 00:20:40 And so now they're all finally gone. but I'm just like, cool, I inherited this really random trait from my parents. Do you have anything like that in your life where you're like, dang, thanks, guys. You know, there's that funny meme where they're always like, there's the kind of, you know, everybody always saves their iPhone boxes. Like, guys, we don't need them. Throw them away. I'm pretty sure I do still have iPhone boxes somewhere.
Starting point is 00:21:00 But yeah, for me, it's watering. So my dad is, he was a procurement manager at a lumber mill. So what his job was is to go find timber, good wood, and bring it to the lumberman. mill. If the lumber mill, one of the biggest ones in North America, ever ran out of wood, then people got fired. So my dad was responsible for hundreds of people being employed by finding the right wood. With that said, he was big on watering. So at my house, we always watered trees, always. Okay. So now, now that I have a house and I'm watering, and Beezer has approached me and she goes, I think, so there's, watering is good. Trees need water. She goes, I think you're actually
Starting point is 00:21:37 overwatering the trees. There has been times when I've been outside for a couple of hours watering. That's for sure not good. Is your guys waterville like stupid high? No. But I've toned it down. Now I know how to properly water, but I'm really into watering. So you do
Starting point is 00:21:55 your boxes, I do my watering. See, isn't that weird? And now you think about you're like, dang, thanks, dad. This is where I got this from. And a gray app. It's called raindrop. And you'll just type in your zip code. It'll show you in the last 24 hours your exact spot on earth, how much rain it has gotten.
Starting point is 00:22:10 and then how much you need to water or just how much you need to water that's how you decide that on your own but it'll say you got a quarter of an inch rain I'm like I've got to get out there in water if I got an inch I'm good okay that I was seeing where the threshold is what are we two inches we're good
Starting point is 00:22:25 okay but under that let's get out there in water a little bit at least just get him a little bit but then I have this one dude I talk to because he's done he what did he do he did a mulch he did our mulch thing that was like kind of a complicated sort
Starting point is 00:22:40 Florida. And so he did it and he goes, yeah, you don't got to water. Trees understand what kind of water they get throughout the climate and stuff. You don't got to water. But then I look over at some neighbors and my dad came to town and he goes, yes, you're watering proper. Some of your neighbors, some of their trees may never recover because they didn't water properly. He's like, but you, you watered great in the off season. I'm like, thank you. So I think I got it down. I got it down. You did got it down. But for sure, that was something passed on to you. Yeah. Is that funny when you think about? You're like, why? Why did that one have to? specific trait be passed down to me.
Starting point is 00:23:12 I love it. Yeah. I pop on a podcast. I pop on take this personally. Yeah, and talk about watering. I pop on feeling yourself or feeling things. Feeling yourself would be a much different podcast. I pop on Bobbycast and I'm just out there watering and I love it.
Starting point is 00:23:28 You're just a water connoisseur. Water watering trees connoisseur. Do you also water the plants then too, I would assume? Yeah. Or is it not as important because the trees are what? No, no, no. Trees and plants. Okay. Just making sure.
Starting point is 00:23:40 Well, also I want to talk about the last moment that you embarrassed yourself because I had a pretty big one. And when I sneeze, it's kind of a whole thing. It's like a big sneeze. I'm not like quiet. Oh, whatever. I'm like, it's dramatic for no reason. So I'm driving in my car, right? And I have to sit pretty close to the steering wheel because I'm very short.
Starting point is 00:24:01 I shouldn't say pretty close. I am all the way forward. Okay. That's how short I am. So I'm all the way close to the steering wheel. I'm driving in my neighborhood. There's this lady outside just chilling in her yard. and I sneeze and my whole body goes forward and I just lay on the honk and I got to look up like oh shit
Starting point is 00:24:20 sorry and I look over and this lady's looking at me like why are you honking at me like dead look on her face just disgusted didn't you have sneeze face no like she couldn't see that you know in the car all she knows is that this random person just honked at her and she's looking at me and this is one of my neighbors who I have yet to meet so I like drive and park in my house like two houses down I'm like sorry. Like she has no idea why I just honked at her. There's no coming back from that all because of a sneeze. All because of a stupid sneeze. And Ray, I felt like I literally kind of tried to wave at her and she didn't wave back at me. She was not happy. But they say get those sneezes out. You're not supposed to hold them in. You're right. But like that was so dramatic. And I just, I felt mortified that this person thought I honked at her.
Starting point is 00:25:02 Like whether I was hunging at her because I thought she was attractive honking at her because she's doing something wrong. Who knows? So never know. And I'm never going to tell her because that's embarrassing. Yeah, I'd say it was so out of character for you just to randomly honk at her. She has to know something happened. Surely, right? Was the woman our age? No, she was older. Yeah, actually, I take that back. The older people, they may have thought you were being mean to them or something.
Starting point is 00:25:27 I know. But also, just how embarrassing that when I sneeze, I hit the honking mutton. I have a good one. Did you want one of mine? I do want one of yours. Okay, so downstairs in the lobby, you know how we, so we have eye heart, not going to tell you the floor. I heart, there's business buildings in here, but there's also apartments above. So people downstairs are
Starting point is 00:25:44 trying to sell apartments and do all whatever crap they're doing. Yes. So there's a whole bunch of them that you don't even know or down there. Sure, there's the front desk worker downstairs, but there's also leasing agents and all that. Okay. All that to say, there's a plastic tray card down there with probably 10 different agents names on it and their business cards. All in this plastic tray card. Okay. But the catch, the plastic tray card is invisible. It's like see-through. So it's like clear. Okay.
Starting point is 00:26:13 So I go to hand the desk worker, my validated parking, so I didn't have to pay a million dollars to park. And I go to hand it, but it's a see-through tray thing. So your hand can't really see if you're going to hit anything or not. And so I hit it in 100 agents, cards go all over the floor. It was pickup sticks everywhere, everywhere. Oh, that's embarrassing. It was so embarrassing. What did the lady say?
Starting point is 00:26:42 That was even more awkward. They go, oh, we're going to do that, huh? Almost like I intentionally did that. Yeah, I didn't see your see-through card holder. And who still has business cards? Did you help him pick up or did you run away? So then it even gets more awkward. I go to start picking it up and they go, no, no, no, no, you don't need to help.
Starting point is 00:27:03 And what are we? We are amazing Americans. So I'm like, I'm not going to make this person pick up 100 pickup sticks. So I'm on the ground and they go, Sir, please, you don't need to pick them up. It was so awkward. So I'm actually getting cringe right now, reliving it. I got, I gave him.
Starting point is 00:27:19 I don't know why she didn't want you to help pick up. It was so bizarre. So it was a man. I was a man, okay. Yeah, I don't even know if I said it was a man or woman. It was a rude man. So I hope I never see that man again because get rid of the invisible tray. Get rid of the attitude.
Starting point is 00:27:35 And if somebody wants to help you pick up something that they knocked over, let them do it. because I just left you with 100 pickup sticks, and they're probably still playing pickup sticks down there because there were so many cards. I feel like you're going to have to see this receptionist again because they're down there, and this is the building we work in every day.
Starting point is 00:27:50 Oh, no. It's been weeks, and I have not gone down to that particular spot. You've avoided it at all costs? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I will never go in that little entrance lobby. If I ever have a whatever it's called, reimbursement thing ticket, I will hand it to you,
Starting point is 00:28:06 and you will go down there and give it to them. You're like, I'm not touching it. I ain't going down there. It's good to know that you get embarrassed, right? I don't know why I thought sometimes you just don't get embarrassed. You're very even keeled and nothing bothers you. Oh, did I say I knocked it over twice? No.
Starting point is 00:28:22 So I knocked it over and they fell everywhere. Yeah. And so a couple of them were still on the desk. And we're talking hundreds of cards on the floor. So the couple on the desk, I put into it and set the invisible card holder back up. And so then as I was telling you, my story because my friend had tried to drive in and it was confusing how you do the parking and all that. My hand hit the plastic invisible card holder again and knocked it over a second
Starting point is 00:28:47 time. That's probably why he was, yeah, that gives a little bit more context of lose as to why he probably was like, sir, just leave it. It was so embarrassing. Get rid of the clear plastic invisible card holder. Or just not put it there, put it anywhere else. That's funny, Ray. I mean, You have to come see the invisible card holder now. I do. I need to see how invisible it is. It holds 200 agents cards and every agent has 100 cards. There were 20,000 cards on the ground when I knocked it over.
Starting point is 00:29:18 But now I do see why. You have to come see it. I really do. I will, but now I do see why this man was like, do not touch this. It's so bad. Ray's cross in his arms right now. You know when you just have that like heibi-jiby moment? He's like, yeah, this is horrible.
Starting point is 00:29:31 Not going back down there. You know, something similar to that happened to me when I was in Paris. We went into this... Low-key flex? Well, no, this is funny because the Paris part makes sense. So obviously, I do speak a little French, but not a lot. So we go into this little shop
Starting point is 00:29:44 because I wanted to buy a little thing to take home, right? We go in here, it's this cute little boutique. And you know those jewelry holders that have, they look like a little body, and they have little sticks that stick out and they have all these jewelry that hangs on them. Yes.
Starting point is 00:29:57 So I go up to pay for this scarf that I bought. And I'm like, here, this is what I want. And as I'm handing the scarf, there's a jewelry holder and it just goes all down. Guys, get the holders and the crap off the desk. I know. I know. But the worst part about this, Ray, was like,
Starting point is 00:30:14 it tips over and I do what you do. I immediately, I'm like, I'm so sorry. And she starts yelling at me in French and I'm like, I have no idea what you're saying. Oh, you got scolded as well. Oh, yeah. I got scolded. But not like, I'm pretty sure she also told me not to mess with it. But like, she was telling me in French, I was like, I have no idea what you're saying. So I'm just going to put this back up here.
Starting point is 00:30:32 So I do get that feeling. I ran out of that store faster than I could have. Because also French people just can be kind of spicy. I didn't know if I was going to get hit with like shoe or something, you know? So I ran. It was the hand, you reaching your hand near where the worker had the whatever, register or collection of whatever. It was right there in a bad place and it was the reaching of the hand, which exactly is what affected me. See?
Starting point is 00:30:58 I don't know. But to your point, like, why can we help if we mess up? But then I guess if you're on the other side, you're like annoyed because they did it. So, like, please don't help because you're the one who messed it up. Well, and across the pond. So we found out over there, they don't want you to help. In America, we don't want you to help either. So just don't help people.
Starting point is 00:31:13 Yeah. That is what Ray and I have learned from both of our circumstances. Okay, we're going to take another quick break. We'll be our back. I went and sat on the little ottoman in front of him. Hi, Dad. And just when I said that, my mom comes out of the kitchen. And she says, I have some cookies and milk.
Starting point is 00:31:33 This is a badass convict. Right. Just finished five years. I'm going to have cookies and milk at mom. Yeah. I'm Dr. Maya Shunker, a cognitive scientist and hosts of the podcast, a slight change of plans, a show about who we are and who we become when life makes other plans. We share stories and scientific insights to help us all better navigate these periods of turbulence and transformation. There is one finding that is consistent, and that is that our resilience rests on our relationships. I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change. We have to be willing to live with a kind of uncertainty that none of us likes. Listen to a slight change of plans on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:33:43 I feel like it was a little bit unbelievable until I really start making money. It's Financial Literacy Month and the podcast, Eating While Broke is bringing real conversations about money, growth and building your future. This month, hear from top streamer, Zoe Spencer, and venture capitalist Lakeisha Landrum Pierre, as they share their journeys from starting out to leveling up. If I'm outside with my parents and they're seeing all these people come up to me for pictures, it's like, what? Today now, obviously, it's like 100%.
Starting point is 00:34:17 They believe everything. But at first, it was just like, you got to go get a real job. There's an economic component to community striving. If there's not enough money and entrepreneurship happening in communities, they fail. And what I mean by Phil is they don't have money to pay for food. They cannot feed their kids. They do not have homes. Communities don't work unless there's money flowing through them.
Starting point is 00:34:37 Listen to Eating While Broke from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. When you listen to podcasts about AI and tech and the future of humanity, the hosts always act like they know what they're talking about and they are experts at everything. Here at the Nick Dick and Poll Show, we're not afraid to make mistakes. What Coogler did that I think was so unique. He's the writer-director. Who do you think he is? I don't know. You meet the president?
Starting point is 00:35:08 You think Canada has a president. You think China has a president. The law crusade. God, I love that thing. I use it all the time. I wrap it in a blanket and sing to it at night. It's like the old Polish saying, not my monkeys, not my circus. It was a good one.
Starting point is 00:35:27 I like that saying. It is an actual Polish saying. It is an actual. Yeah, better version of Play Stupid Games, win stupid prizes. Yes. Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift who said that for the first time. I actually, I thought it was. I got that wrong.
Starting point is 00:35:39 Listen to the Nick, Dick, and Paul show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I have a bunch of random topics for us, Ray. This is, you know, I love when I do these little rejected, rejected segments. Like, you prep and they don't even make rejected segments. Yes. They're still good. So that's what we're talking about. Those are, like, the last two, though.
Starting point is 00:36:02 What is something? you would have never done but maybe now you can't stop doing. What the? I know. So hear me up. Used to be when I grew up, right? I loved Kraft, Colby Jack shredded cheese.
Starting point is 00:36:14 Came in the bag. I ate it by itself. It was so good. Got it. Okay. I would never. No, I have mine. Okay.
Starting point is 00:36:20 Hold on you. Now I'm not helping you. I had this bag and I'd always eat it. And I'd never, people would be like, why don't you get like better cheese? I'm like, no, no, no. Nothing can beat this craft. Finally shredded Colby Jack cheese. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:36:32 Well, you know, then I get old. older. As an adult, I'm starting to eat healthy, and I start shredding my own cheese. And I do it like twice a week. Bezor does it. Who am I? Bayser does it. I know, but like, who am I? Before, you could never get me to stop eating this stupid craft, finally shredded cheese, and now you can't even get me to eat that. Now I have to shred my own cheese.
Starting point is 00:36:51 Bayser does it. Isn't that wild, though, like, it's not easy. It's not hard, but it's not like a convenient thing to do to shred your own cheese all the time. It is better. But it is so much better. So fresh and awesome. I know and now I can never go back. So old knee was really just not wanting to change and now I've changed and now it's also changed my life.
Starting point is 00:37:10 Mine is, I'll go food to jalapenos. Growing up, my parents would want to do what are the banana peppers, right? Yeah, banana peppers that come in the Papa John's pizza boxes. Yes, they would do. Or is that different? Maybe. Yes, no, who knows, who cares. Okay.
Starting point is 00:37:26 Let me say, there's peppers in general. Okay. Not the specific name. We know jalapenos, peppers. never growing up only pepperoni pizza never put peppers on anything we don't want anything hot we hate banana peppers jalapenos what's something else that's spicy pickled peppers um red peppers chile peppers bell peppers chili peppers hate them all now if i get a burger i get a pizza i am getting every single pepper you have on that sucker interesting i go to the p there's a place at fifth and b
Starting point is 00:38:01 in downtown Nashville, they have this pizza with literal mini-soshimo peppers. Yeah. Throw them on it. When I get a burger, Bezo, she knows. I only go to restaurants that have that five-alarm burger. If they ain't got five different hot things that can put on it, forget it. McDonald's, they ain't got a pepper. I ain't going.
Starting point is 00:38:22 Did you not used to like spices and now you like spicy things? Hated spicy things. Now I love them. To the point, I can't go without it. When did that change? Like, what was the changeover? When I started drinking, I don't know. You can't remember when you, like, one day were like, you know?
Starting point is 00:38:38 Kind of college. Yeah. Yeah. Honestly, honestly, when I started drinking. Yeah. And you, like, had something to eat, and you're like, oh, I actually like this. And it adds so much to it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:48 Yeah. That's a good one, though. I also, you want to know a fun fact about peppers? Nah. That was really good. That was so rude. Bell peppers, when you buy bell peppers at the store, like a red, green, orange, yellow one. Familiar.
Starting point is 00:39:06 If they have four little indentions at the bottom, they're milder. If they have three, they're a little bit more spicy. Okay, so three turns it up. Yeah, I don't think it's like significant, but it, something about the little notches has to do with the spice level. So the less, the hotter? Mm-hmm. I think the more the hotter. Well, the reason I also know this is because I like, I don't like spicy things.
Starting point is 00:39:30 I'm, I never grew up. Oh, then you better never order a pizza to this radio station. Yeah. Because I ain't eating it. If there ain't something spicy on it, I ain't doing it. Do you like hot honey? Because I do like hot honey. But I don't think it's spicy.
Starting point is 00:39:43 I don't really know why it's called hot honey. I'll do hot honey. Would I rather have. Like a pepper? A pepper. Halapenos, yes. But honey's fine. But it's just like makes you all sticky and stuff.
Starting point is 00:39:55 Is the honey amazing enough to be okay with having sticky crap all over your hands? I don't think so. I don't think it justifies being that sticky. Do you not like sticky stuff on your hands? No. You're like my dad. Yeah. My dad, if we do any sticky stuff, he's like, sticky, I don't like this. He has to wash his hands immediately. Yeah. Yeah. If I do wings,
Starting point is 00:40:14 I got to go wash my hands. Don't they come with when you get wings? They give you like the little... That's not good enough. Not even... I need... Mike fell apart. That's... No, no way. I need to go to the bathroom. I need soap. I need paper towel. I need water. They hand me those wipes. I throw them right back out of them. I was like, I need more.
Starting point is 00:40:30 I need more. You got anything else that I can wipe my hands with. I can't do dirty hands. Do you do boneless wings now so then you can just eat it with a fork? No, because the bones are better. Okay. I don't know. I worked at Buffalo Wild Wings and everybody like, they came in and had their specific. It was either boneless or bone in and those people never changed. Like they would get that same type every time. But the bone is better. I get it's easier with the bone in, bone out. The bone is better. I couldn't tell you. I have no idea. So I'm just trusting that. You say that. Okay. And it's more of an eating experience than you just, you know, a little nugget.
Starting point is 00:41:02 Yeah. I would imagine. Okay, that was that. So, fun, fun weird topic? That topic brought to you by Buffalo Wild Rings. When you're here, you're happy. I was trying to think of their motto at the same time. Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 00:41:15 Okay. Also, I added some new things to my vinyl collection. What's like your fun thing that you're doing right now? Because vinyl's been mine recently. For us, it is memorabilia. We have a lot of memorabilia upstairs in the man cave. so I'm trying to figure out the jerseys I want framed. I've got three of them framed, trying to do some more.
Starting point is 00:41:32 What three do you have framed? I got Hooker. He's a football player. He's with the Volz. He was amazing. So I got him. I got John Morant, Scotty Pippen, and John Elway. That's four.
Starting point is 00:41:44 He said three. Yeah. You have four? Yeah. And they're all, what all teams? So, Valls? Yeah, well, the teams don't matter. It's just the Elway one.
Starting point is 00:41:52 I mean, he was a legend. You got the Pippin legend. And then Valls Hooker because I'm a Valls fan. and then John Morant because he's just right now one of the best in the NBA. Which one did you wear
Starting point is 00:42:01 to do charades in? John Morant. Okay. I know you said you took it as your signed jersey. So are all of them signed? Yeah, they're all signed
Starting point is 00:42:08 and they're all jerseys. Okay. So we're trying to do some memorabilia type stuff in there. And then we found a memorabilia shop at Green Hills Mall.
Starting point is 00:42:15 It's awesome. So we might get in some more stuff there trying to talk Bayzer into it. Oh, I think I saw that. I think I walked by it and I saw a bunch of signatures on different things. Yep.
Starting point is 00:42:23 Take the boyfriend there. It's awesome. That's your kid in a playground Like candy shop type scenario Yeah because usually we'll go to What is it? Green Hill Sport and Social Club Walk through the mall Just see the memorabilia place
Starting point is 00:42:38 Go walk in there It's all cool and stuff And then go to the What is it called? The greenhouse bar I love greenhouse bar It's a super cool spot And they have good food
Starting point is 00:42:48 I don't know What do they not have? I don't know Air conditioning We went in there when it was 80 and they want you to think you're in Bali because the whole, what is it called, the whole vibe?
Starting point is 00:43:03 Yes, is Bali. You think you are in the Philippines. Well, it's a greenhouse bar, so you're literally in a greenhouse. But guess what? What they don't tell you is, when it's 80 out, it's 80 inside the greenhouse bar,
Starting point is 00:43:16 but. Yeah, you got to dress appropriately for the season for sure. That is a good one. Hey, look at you, right? What was your fifth in Broadway pizza place? That couldn't tell you the name is it DeSanos. Maybe.
Starting point is 00:43:26 It's the only one that's there. Wait, is it in the food hall or is it? It's in the food hall. Okay. Well, there used to be slim and huskies. It's not that. But it's not there anymore. So, okay.
Starting point is 00:43:35 DeSano's in, I don't know what it is, but I know where it is in Fifth and Broadway. It's the only one. So you go to Fifth and B and Bee and you say, show me the pizza place. They'll show you. Ooh, I like it. Okay. This is nice, Ray. Look at you.
Starting point is 00:43:48 You gave recommendations. Let's try. Two and one. Well, I did go, because I found a vintage shop. It's called Bits and Pieces. It's in Germantown. And it says, Ventures Stop, and I watched in to look at things not really expecting anything. And I got a Conway Twitty record.
Starting point is 00:44:03 I got a Hank Williams record and Dolly Parton with Porter Wagner. Autographed or just because they're records? No, they're just vinyl. Got it. Yeah. I don't really care. I mean, I care for my autographed ones like here. If I get one sent to me or somebody's here and I have one of their records kind of thing.
Starting point is 00:44:20 But the old school ones, I don't care to buy. That's the difference between men and women. I think I just figured it out. Men are from Venus. Women are from Mars. that you don't want, you don't care about autographs, guys care about autographs. Yeah, I only care like very specific ones or if I got it. It feels weird buying something that I didn't get autographed.
Starting point is 00:44:40 Got it. Does that make sense? So don't get you an autograph if we do the Christmas gift getting. Well, that would be cool because it's a gift from somebody. But I feel weird like purchasing something that somebody else got autographed. Mm-hmm. But it wasn't for me. Got it.
Starting point is 00:44:56 Noted. You know what I mean? Yeah. But like if you got it autographed and it was for me, then that's a different. There's something about that different experience. Women are from Venus, men are from Mars. Wasn't that a book? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:08 Did you read it? No, I always saw it as a kid. Mom, what does that mean? Women are from a different planet? You'll find out soon, son. I know, yeah, I never read it. I do remember seeing it as like a title. I'm pretty sure I was even at the, like, Scholastic Book Fair.
Starting point is 00:45:21 But like, why is this book that says women are from a different planet than men? Why are we all looking at it right now in elementary school? It was definitely not the demographic. It was for adults. It was not for children. Like an adult psychology class and it was in elementary schools. Oh, man. That's funny.
Starting point is 00:45:40 That's like that universal experience when you, when I, whenever I get on TikTok and see people talking about things or their experiences, I'm like, dang, there's really nothing that I've lived solo. There's no unique experience to me. Somebody else in the world has always experienced something that I've experienced. Yeah. And that's a weird feeling. It's even weirder.
Starting point is 00:45:57 As you know, they say, everybody in the world has a doppelganger. Like, there's a woman that looks exactly like you. Isn't that weird? Yeah. People have sent them to me. Apparently, I have like a familiar face. They've sent me like three or four people look identical to me. And you feel, you feel like they look identical to you.
Starting point is 00:46:12 Yeah. And I've seen on TikTok where people actually go meet up with their doppelganger. And they're like, oh my gosh, you look exactly like me. It reminded me of, okay, what was that used to be, you have to know the name of this. that stranger video chat that people used to get on. Yeah. And you'd see people from all over the world. And you would spin the wheel, right?
Starting point is 00:46:31 Or, yeah, chat roulette. Chat roulette. That reminded me of what it was. I don't think you ever actually spun a wheel, but you'd press a button and it would randomly choose somebody. But there was a video from it circulating on X, Twitter, that this dude got on. And it was like the girlfriends were identical.
Starting point is 00:46:50 And they were like yelling at each other because they're like, that's my girlfriend. Like, it was a guy and a girl. And this guy on the other one was like, why are you with my girlfriend? What's happening? And he like freaks out. And then like his girlfriend gets home
Starting point is 00:47:03 and the girl is still on the thing. And he's like, what? That sounds fake, but wild. I know. And this wasn't AI because it was like crappy video. You know, you can kind of sell the AI ones because they're like really high tech or whatever. This is not AI.
Starting point is 00:47:14 Sounds fake. What are the odds? Do you get the chat roulette of the person that looks exactly like you? I know. But like also kind of funny because If his girlfriend wouldn't have walked in during any of that He had been like, you're cheating on me. You cheated on me. I literally saw you with my own eyes
Starting point is 00:47:30 Weird, right? But there's always one thing that's kind of different. It's not identical identical. Well, you can't tell that on a video chat They just look similar. Like if you are on a video chat and somebody that looks like you come on I think you'd be like It's like take off your shirt. Let's see if we're really identical on all the pieces. Get naked. I'm done like I. I Didn't mean it, I swear. Okay, let's see if I have anything else on here. Oh, okay. I have a question for you. Yeah. With Beezer. When you guys first started dating, was there any moment where you were like, holy crap, this girl is weird and awesome and I love her so much. Yeah. I mean, that's why we got married. I know, but like, what was that? Can you pinpoint moments? Oh, there's all kinds of a million moments. Just, you know, a moment in Vegas or a time when we were in, a lot of time it's trips because you don't have to worry about work. you're in the best mood ever. And you're just like, oh my gosh, this person is perfect for me. I mean, that's why you get married because of those moments.
Starting point is 00:48:27 I know. So that's why I'm curious, though, like what those are for you. Yeah, for me, it was one time at CMA Fest. I couldn't even tell you that, but it was just an awesome moment. She's like, hey, let's go watch your favorite band. And it was Florida Georgia Lyman when they're actually a band. We were watching them at Nissan, watching my favorite band, date my favorite chick. That moment, awesome.
Starting point is 00:48:48 We walk across the bridge, go to our apartment downtown. Just that whole thing is cool. Yeah. And then just sitting on the beach in Plydale Carmen and it's just the most perfect time ever and you think I should probably marry this person. And then there's so many, so many. I could jot them down and there'd be page after page after page. And then now it's the moments where we're just lying in bed and like she says the silliest thing. It's funny. You're like that's the person I was supposed to marry because like there's not another girl on the planet that say something that cute. So it's like stuff
Starting point is 00:49:21 like that. Well, see, I think that's adorable. And the reason I asked to ask is, I was so, me and the new boyfriend were at a brewery, and we're sitting there having a drink and the couple next to us ordered pretzels. And you know, most of the time pretzels come with like a honey mustard or a beer cheese, right?
Starting point is 00:49:37 No, these pretzels showed up with pimento cheese, which pimento cheese is one of my favorite thing. Ballin. So this arrives, and I, you would have thought it was Christmas Day. I look over and it's like, it came with pimento cheese. And I was just so excited and he just looked at me. He's like, why are you so cute?
Starting point is 00:49:53 Like, who freaks out over pimento cheese? And I literally like was like, oh crap. My like quirky side just came out over cheese. Yeah, you gotta hide that. Hide that. I know. But like it was like one of those moments that you were talking about where he just looked at me.
Starting point is 00:50:06 He's like, this girl's obsessed with pimento cheese. And it reminded me to ask you of that because he was like, now he can't stop talking about. He's like, that was so cute watching you get out. I didn't know it was like that. I thought, I mean, there's also moments. like when your car breaks down and she's the one person that comes there to be with you, there's those as well. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:23 So it's like a whole combination of things. But yeah, like a silly thing. She sings a lot. Not a good singer, but it's funny, the songs that she'll sing and they'll get stuck in her head. She's going to hate me for saying. I think I've said it before. But when she drinks a little too much, for whatever reason, she sings the national anthem.
Starting point is 00:50:41 And I'm like, oh my gosh, that you're the most amazing American. How patriotic of you? How have you never got this on video? On a Saturday night. I think I've said it on here before. on a Saturday night, she's singing the national anthem. I'm like, this is hilarious. I love her so much.
Starting point is 00:50:57 I love her. I have to stop. Put my hand over my heart. Put my hand down or my drink down. Hand on the heart. Stand up. And we are doing the national anthem on a Saturday night at 9 p.m. And is it just you two at this point when this happens?
Starting point is 00:51:14 Yes. I'm just picturing both of you guys. Like in the national anthem is happening. Does she do the whole song? She'll do a lot of it. And hey, proud of her country. That is hilarious.
Starting point is 00:51:27 When did that first happen in your guys' relationship? A little bit later on. Yeah? Yeah. She was like, oh, this can finally come out. I can finally show this exciting side. No, she just, it did just be stuck in her head,
Starting point is 00:51:38 and so she'll do it. I'm like, who has the national anthem stuck in their head? Like, you literally bleed red, white, and blue. You're like, I love you. That's funny. See? I love these stories. I think they're so cute.
Starting point is 00:51:52 Okay, well, Baser, I'm sorry if you didn't want him to share that, but I really love that story. Yeah, if you want the list, I mean, I would have to sit down for days and come up with the list. I could come up with a million. Of all the songs she sings. No, no, no, not the songs. Just the moments where you're like, okay, that was pretty awesome. That was amazing moments where you know that's the person you're probably supposed to be with. I love that, though.
Starting point is 00:52:09 I like hearing those stories. We don't ever really talk about those because nobody really asked you, like, what are the moments? And I think it's cute to hear them. But then also, it's a lot of the moments are on vacation, which tells you, hey, we're actually in great moods when we're on vacation. So we should be on vacation all the time. We shouldn't have jobs in America because they put us in bad moods. I think at that point, that's when you moved to Europe, right?
Starting point is 00:52:32 And you say, we're just always on vacation because that's kind of how they live their lives there. Vacations, man. There's nothing like a vacation. You're in the best mood. Every moment is like put this in a memory bank. And this is why you wrote the songs, vacation. That's where you're happiest. I think that song is about being poor and you can't afford a good vacation.
Starting point is 00:52:51 So a vacation is just you chilling with fanoodle can noodles or whatever they're called But that's still a vacation You're still out there in the water, you know, forgetting about life The song Vacation Guys is about not being able to afford a yacht And so you tell your chick, hey, hey, that catamaran, get us some noodles and then you float Go with the flow But the second one, you guys get a little bit richer because you're on a boat second one Dodd wrote a lot of that one yeah that that one I don't know
Starting point is 00:53:22 I mean that's you know the music video guys were literally on a boat yeah yes you're right and they were speedboats at that so then we could finally afford the boats instead of just floating around in noodles and calling them a catamaran yeah uh-huh just you know following the storyline here all right thanks for joining me tell people where they can find you hear you all that good stuff Ciz and Raymundo and then sore losers podcast with lunchbox he is very popular and I just am very blessed to do that show with him and listen to him talk. Did he pay you to say that? I just did it with him so it's top of mind. And you just sit there and listen to him? It is him unabridged being able to tell his stories about his children without having to go to commercial and his coaching and you just sit back and you enjoy the man that is lunchbox. Do you feel like you're just the commentator kind of on that podcast, like he tells all these stories and you just share your commentary? Well, you can see, I'm a massive talent too. So I could actually do my own podcast. So you've got
Starting point is 00:54:23 take this personally. I could do take this personally with Sisson or feel myself with Sison. I really think you should do fun. So I could do my own podcast where I just talk for an hour, where I have so many different things I would want to go into. But with Lunchbox, he's a big talker too. So you can't have two big talkers. So I play the role more of commentating one-liners, Zingers, and he is the role of storyteller, which is fine. It's great. So, but yeah, that's, I would say, the structure of that show. Okay.
Starting point is 00:54:53 But. Have you thought about doing your own thing? Hell no. I didn't do another podcast. Hey, I just asking. Because you said you can do a bunch of podcasts about a bunch of different things, so I didn't. I could. I just don't have the time.
Starting point is 00:55:05 There's not enough hours in the day. I'm trying to have kids. Sure you are. We're not doing another podcast. I know. I know. Okay. Well, go check it out.
Starting point is 00:55:12 And yeah, as Ray said, you can check out. Everybody's got a podcast nowadays. Yeah, but you know what? Your wife has been on mine. She has. Baser. And it was a really cool episode. Take this personally.
Starting point is 00:55:23 So go check it out. Baser. I think I actually said her name though. What is Amy's called? Feeling yourself or what is it called? Feeling things. Got it. Not feel yourself.
