Thinking about something Nobody even cares about Hey let me run this by you Here's an idea I have for when we get back from 4th July. I want to have a Checkers tournament. There's eight of us here. Winner takes all. Now, nobody's really that good at Checkers.

You don't know that. I'm actually pretty good. Oh, I'm not. Take me to Cracker Barrow right now. Okay, so, winner takes... Listen, sports aren't really starting back to the end of July. But what if we have after the show, each day one match, Checkers, we stream the whole thing.

Yeah. Oh, you know what I have? is one of those big carpet checkers. It's like, you want me to bring that? No, just a regular board? Oh, it's fun, no. And then, oh, we can, whatever,

but I think that each day and that we build an eight-person tournament I love it. Yeah. It's a good idea. Are you good? I mean, you've got to be good. No.

Here's what I'm not good at. Ready? Will of Fortune and Checkers. I suck at Willa Fortune. Why? I will sit there and stare at the screen. It could be the, the United States of a

ica and I'm like the United States of Perica, Alarica, like I am bad. That's weird because you're normally super quick. I used to watch my grandma because she loved Will of Fortune. We watch you every day and I was awful. And she was a smart old lady and she would just crush me at that man. But I think a checkers tournament, let's say we all put in

10 bucks or something. Love it. And then we put it on every day. There's one match that happens and it goes on. You guys up for that? Yes. Sure. All right. That'll be fun. We'll do that when we get back from. You know, I was thinking about people. It kind of sucks that Fourth of July is on a Saturday, huh?

Because it's just a normal, maybe it's a three-day weekend. Yeah, what do they get Friday off? We get Friday off. But I'm saying mostly if it's like on a Wednesday, the whole week is awesome. Because Monday, you're like, well, we're going back, but it ain't a real week. Tuesday, you're like, we're out of here tomorrow anyway. Wednesday, you don't work. Thursday, you don't go back.

Friday, you're like, what the? Who cares? Yeah. I know, but every seven years or so, this happens. Yeah, but saying it sucks. This is the year that it sucks. Well, next year, too, because it'll be on a slender. Oh.

Does it move back every day? Does it move back or? I don't know. It moves forward except for if there's a leap year. It does? Yeah, everything's a forward. Like, if your birthday was on a Tuesday this year, it's going to be on a Wednesday next year. Are you sure?

I didn't realize that. Yes, I'm sure. What? Okay. But Thanksgiving's always on a Thursday, right? Yes. No, it's yes, because it's always the last Thursday of the month. So you say it moves up or back?

Oh, wait, forward or backward? This is what I know. If my birthday is on Tuesday, this year, that means it's going to be on a Wednesday next year. Okay, so 2020, 4th July is on a Saturday. On 2021, the 4th July is on a Sunday. She's right. Thanks, guys. No, no, no.

I would just say, I'm just saying, are you short? Thank you for coming to my Ted talk on the calendar. 22, Monday, 23, Tuesday. Wow. Yeah. Okay. I know.

I learned something. Sometimes I teach all things, you know? Yes. Today I learned. Bobby was 40 years old when he learned out of how the calendar works. Sometimes. Okay. Is that what you want to do?

No, but I just like that. I was today years old. Yeah, today's years old. The other day I had a today's year old, today's years old. Because you know that thing when you get a pizza and there's that little circle thing in there? Yeah, what is that? What you do is you put it on the piece of pizza you're not going to eat so you can pull it away. What are you talking about?

That's what I thought it was to keep the lid from switching down. It's to keep the lid from hitting the top of the pizza bones. I was told it was that what it said was the reason it was invented was to put it in the pizza so you can pull it away. That's a big lie. Oh, no, that actually makes sense because otherwise you have to put your hand on the, they were, they were ahead of coronavirus. What? With this little contraption. And I never knew that that was what it was for.

Here's what it says. A pizza saver. sometimes referred to as a pizza table or pizza stool or package saver or pizza nipple or pizza ottoman Pizza nipple. Is an object used to prevent, Eddie, you're right, part of it? Okay, okay.

To prevent the top of a food container such as a pizza box or cake box. It wasn't just invented for pizza, cake box from collapsing in the center and touching the food inside. Uses are also separating pieces of pizza. I didn't even know the box thing. That's what I thought. I didn't know you're part of it. Interesting.

Maybe though they only did. to discover. It's not my part of it. I didn't. I just read it. Well, yeah, but you brought it to the table. I'm a weasers shirt. This is an old school Weasers shirt. I got it from that Grailed app. Oh, yeah. What is that? Here's the problem, though. It took like a month to get here.

Where is it coming from? It's a vintage Weezer shirt. I don't know. Like Malaysia. Oh, boy. Some stuff comes from places in the country, but this is not a commercial. Graled is an app I used to find cool vintage stuff. Arkansas stuff. Cubs stuff. I buy this. Weezer shirt. I think I bought it in like 2018, and they got here yesterday. Pretty cool.

You have a Johnny Cash shirt on today, huh? Yeah, it's not vintage. It's from free people. Oh, it's not vintage? You could have fooled me. Yeah, I don't know. I mean, they're sure they mimicked it after that, but it's just, you know, a poser. I'm a poser right now. You guys are so cool. Do you feel like a poser? Sometimes. Yeah. All right. What's going on with you?

What do you guys have planned for, like, vacation? Colorado. Like, are you doing stuff? Do your kids like to ski? Well, it's the summer, so they ski in the winter. I don't know, you go to top of a mountain? Oh, okay, yeah. I've never been skiing.

There's always snow up there, though, right? Yeah, but the actually... And can't you build fake snow? No. You can do that in Indiana. But I think we may... The mountain that we ski in the winter, we actually may go hike it because it's... Anyway, but that's what we do.

We do a lot of hiking, hanging out at my sister's coffee shop, hanging out with family, just late nights. around the campfire, s'mores. Pretty chill. Like, it's just, it's just easy because both my husband's family and my family are there. So we, we have plenty to do, but everyone's just chill. So it's not like high stress, which is cool. Have you talked about what you're doing on the year? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I mean, I don't know. I feel like I get, like lunchbox brings it up a lot, too. Like, I'm going to Florida with just me and my wife. And I don't see a problem with it because I don't ever go to the beach to go interact with people.

Like I literally don't go to the beach. Oh wait. Are they shutting the beach down though? No. Because they're shutting a lot. I read yesterday they're shutting a lot of beaches down. As of now, no, it's not shut down. And we're staying in an Airbnb. It's like a little beach and we don't go out to eat. We don't go to restaurants. And I don't go to a beach to a person. Like I just don't do that. So I feel like we're pretty safe. Yeah, it'll be fine. Yeah. I would feel fine going to the beach with my family and just staying in our own little. I feel like you can easily distance from people. It's kind of my thing, too, to go to the beach and be like, oh, there's people over there.

I'm going to go. Fourth of July, that's tough. No, it's after Fourth of July. I'm not going until Friday. Lunchbox, what's your beef with that? Well, I'm just saying that, I mean, he was so against me. Wait, what am I going on? He was.

And in the next year, it's on Sunday. Wait. I'm so confused. No, my beef with it is, Eddie is like, you're being like, oh, you're going to get corona. But he's saying he can control it, but the beaches are crowded now. Like, it's not like there's, you know, 250 yards of space between you and the next person. So people are going to be walking by you going to the water. There's going to be families running up and down. And he's telling me I, you know, he was giving me a hard time

about going to Vegas. And I'm just saying him going to the beach that, hey, see this room over here ready? It's waiting for you. Oh, that he's going to be quarantine room. He wants you to be in the quarantine right now. Oh, so are we going to be in there together? No, I'll be out of quarantine by then. I'll be done. You'll be in here. Oh, are you going to wear a mask with your swimsuit? No. Or wear a mask as your swimsuit. Do I have to wear a Do I have to wear a mask outside? At the beach, do I have to swim with a mask? I won't see that.

You don't just swim with a mask. I feel like outdoors, beach, like not around people, I'm A-okay. How I think about it is, if I can remain 10 feet from people and I'm outside, I don't need a mask. That's what just my mind tell you here, because I care about other folks getting sick more than me. I wear a mask for other people. If it's over 10 feet away and I'm outside, if I'm inside, if I'm going in a store, I'm wearing a mask. That's just how, but you're outside.

I don't know that I would be worried about wearing a mask. That's kind of the way I'm looking at it. All right. I mean, just look at this beach from a couple days ago. Oh, no, yeah, it's super crowded. You're going to stay away from all those people? I'm not going to that beach lunch. I don't go to the beach to hang out with people.

I don't. No, but I think he's saying there's people everywhere. But if there is, I'm not going to the beach. Then I'm going to take the kayak out and I'm going to go fish. In the ocean? Yeah. That's how I beach. No, not deep sea.

I take the kayak out. And I'll like go fish. I'm taking two kayaks. And for one for me and my wife, and we'll just do that if it's too crowded. I don't like the beach around a lot of people. I just don't. Listen,

if I don't know why you're fighting with me, I'm just asking questions. I'm not responding. I'm going to Branson, and we're not doing anything around folks. Yeah. You know? Yeah, I just don't like crowds.

I don't understand. And when you were both in, it's tough. It's hard because it's going to be one of us. I just don't understand. And I guess the donut. We were very close, though. I was at 12%. You were at 11%.

No way. And what were your picks? He had DQ Blizzard, Sonic Oreo blast, and pecan pie. That's right. That's right. All good desserts. And would you have? He had Girl Scout cookies, smores, and the glazed donut.

Those are all great. Yeah. Why would you? Listen, looking back, I wouldn't, I wouldn't have specialized so much. pick two different ice creams. But why did you go glazed donut when you just could have went donuts? Yeah, I didn't think about that. I just figured I figure glaze is kind of the generic what everybody likes.

You know? Like, because if you go, I mean, you can get donut, whatever, but the glazed donut is like, that's what you get for everyone at the office. Right, like generic. Yeah, it's generic. No, I did the same thing. I went way too specializing to two ice creams. You guys kind of lured me into that second one.

I'm shocked you didn't go to McFlurie on. third. I know, and I would have, but you guys were roasting me so hard. I was just going to go all ice creams from different best food restaurants. First day back yesterday, you guys weren't able to make it back in time for the show. Good to have you here. Yeah, I mean, that's what happens with alcohol. Sometimes you don't know if it's going to ruin your whole next day, another couple days. You don't know what it's going to do, the after effects. If it wasn't your bachelor party, I think I may have been a little irritated. You only get one of these. I knew it was going to be acceptable, so we rolled with it.

What do you mean you knew it was going to be acceptable? Because it's known for a bachelor party, you're over-drinking, you're over-indulging, you're over-eating, you're over-eating, You're overing everything. And it was Carly Pierce, Jen Wayne from Runaway June, and Caitlin Bristow, who was The Bachelorette. They all live in Nashville. And they take a picture and they're like, oh, we're serving the dish or whatever. And in the background, they're playing Gabby Barrett's song, I Hope, which is about cheating.

Now, I'll let it keep going, but this song's playing on purpose over the top. Interesting. But for like the exact caption from Caitlin, it says karma has no deadline. Yes. Okay, here you go. You're ever going to need. So it's a cheating song over the top. So a lot of people are, this is just a conclusion they're drawing.

Yeah. Is that they think, based on this Instagram post, that one of them cheated and that one's not the one that's in the picture, which is Carly Pierce. Interesting. So I'm going to have Jen Wayne on later because I'm talking about COVID with her because she had COVID. I'm going to just slide it in there. Let's see what she said. Yeah. I'm going to slide it in there.

So we'll definitely. sip on some tea? Huh? No? Is that right? Have a tea party? I mean, you can say that, but it's really just your spill in the tea. Like, you can say you're sipping on the tea.

Conversation is a little awkward. You want to have those really special moments with your boys at times. It was tough to understand what lunch was saying. So you would just stand there. You're playing, you're gambling. Lunch is six feet away from me. I'm sitting here on an island just playing by myself. Not even really, I mean, it's different, dude.

Isn't it weird, too, that you don't realize how much the visual part of speaking with someone comes into play until everybody's wearing masks? Because I don't think you notice it as much. You just see their mouth and go, well, it sounded like that. and I saw your mouth make that shape, so that had to be what you're saying? Now there are a lot of times we're like, what? It's weird when you can't see someone's mouth. You don't hear them as well. All right, so let's do top five moments from your bachelor party in Vegas.

Number five. Yeah, lunchbox took us to Cosmo, and we all got these flower drinks that numb your mouth. So then when you drink the shot, it's basically like a drink. You don't taste the alcohol. It's some numbing flour that I've never heard of before, but it was the coolest drink I've probably ever done. How much did that cost? I don't know. It didn't pay for it.

it. Number four. Yeah, so this is going to be crazy. You're not even going to believe this one. I met a member of the Brazilian royal family. Apparently she was a monarch. And she was at Caesar. She was gambling. She lost over $30,000. And at one point, I wasn't gambling as much as other people at the table were. So the pit boss wanted to kick me out. And this monarch said, no, he's cool. He can stay. So absolutely awesome, awesome things she did for me. And I was also able to see her lose $30,000. Did you Google her to see if she's legit? I have her name and, I mean, there's no trace. Okay, well, then she's right not real.

No, no, no. She is, but for whatever reason, they keep a very secret identity online. A royal family of an entire country keeps a secret identity, and it's so secret. They're sharing it with a random dude to the casino. There were other people that I looked at her players card. That's how I got her name. She would not give her name. She didn't say what her business was.

She did say she did modeling on the side. Oh, boy. Did you get scammed? Did you give her money? No, but that's when I also told her I do that as well. I modeled for Express back in the day. Not really. Some guy convinced you to go to his basement and take pictures and they never came out.

Regardless, my one boy, he's an expert when it comes to clothes and stuff. He said her she was wearing $5,000 jeans or purse was like $10,000. I mean, unbelievable money at this table is very interesting and different to me. You know what? Because I want to hear the next one. I'll believe it. All right. Number three, Ramondo.

Yeah, so we took these doom buggies up to. to adrenaline mountain, and we got to see a site of Vegas, a site of California, and a site of a meth lab all at the exact same time. That sounds fun. It was dope. Yeah, that sounds awesome. We were covered in dust, but it was a bro moment. I took my shirt off top of the mountain, and it was just one, you know, it was so cool, so cool.

Number two on your best moments from the trip. Yeah, so because of the generosity of the listeners, when I lost that $250 initial bet, within, I would say, 20 minutes after I lost that bet, we already had over $300 given to us. Like, here you go, bet again, here's your money back. We hate that you lost that. Here you go, have fun. People sending us money.

It was crazy. On Venmo? Yes. Unexpected. We didn't even ask people for that, but they have some big ones out there. Well, you were asking for weeks and weeks, which probably is a whole other conversation we have off the air. Mm-hmm.

But yes, good for you. Okay. All right. Number one? Yeah, number one. Number one is the one. Is this the good one? He's got to modify it now because when I saw this, he was going to say it like he told me about it.

I was like, there's no way he's going to say this. Let me see if we can break the code. Go ahead. A country music artist in Nashville called ahead to Emerald Lagasse's restaurant. It's a really fine star, five-star, beautiful place, and paid for the whole final dinner. It was our last supper. And it was all totally covered anonymously by this amazing artist. It wasn't anonymous.

You knew. I knew. I had speculations. We did invite Sam Hunt on the Bachelor trip. He wasn't able to make it. Take that whatever you will from that. It wasn't Sam Hunt. Oh, okay.

You can't lead him a wrong way if you're going to leave it anonymous. Well, so, I mean, but I have a guess. I do, too. Why don't you not, I know, so I can't respond either. Ray, you don't respond either in any way. Yeah. But we'll let them guess and just talk of who they think it is. Okay.

Go ahead. All right, it's Garth Brooks. Possibly, because, yeah. I feel like he was so nice. He would do that. And plus, like, she's your soon-to-be wife's family, like they're close to him. It's a great guess. Who knows?

working all day long, delivering packages around 7 p.m. like, man, I'm just tired. Pulls the car over, the van, starts dropping the packages down the sewer because he just wants to go home. Oh, boy. Neighbor sees it, calls 911. Police arrive, and he's like, yep, I was doing it, man.

It's just been a long day. I'm ready to go home. Wow. They're like, okay, well, go ahead. Sorry, we didn't know. Sorry for interrupting. We didn't know. That's been long.

That makes sense. Wow. I'm lunchbox. That's your bonehead story of the day. Amy, so what happened with you? Okay, so a couple that we know got married. We're not super close to them. So we just said.

sent the gift, and obviously with coronavirus, there was no wedding, but we just mailed them a gift part of their registry. We sent them a salad bowl set, which was about $75. Really nice, wouldn't one, I thought. Well, I got a thank you know in the mail to us thanking us for this amazing espresso maker that we got them. I looked up the espresso maker. It's $600. We didn't get them that. We got them the salad bowl set. So it just feels, it just felt weird because I'm being thanked for a gift I didn't get. And that means maybe the person that got them, the expensive espresso set just got thanked for the salad bowls. Was your name written on it? Like they didn't just send it to the wrong person. Yeah. Like, no, they addressed it to us. Like it was to us. So I think, you know,

and I know how thank you notes work and there's a lot of unpacking and you have a list. And so I think just somewhere, you know, that maybe we were right next to the people that got the espresso machine and somehow we got thanked for it. So what does your instinct say to do? I mean, it's just going to be awkward, but I feel like, normally it just wouldn't be that big of a deal and just let it go. And it really isn't probably in the grand scheme of things other than, I mean, because I wouldn't care if I got thanked for something that I didn't get on,

and it was less expensive than what I had spent. It really doesn't matter. But the people that bought the espresso machine, they might think, oh, we didn't get you the salad bowl set. We got you the espresso machine. So I just feel like if I clear it up for, them, then they can go to the correct people and thank them or whatever. What should I do? What should I do? You tell me.

Chill. It's the best case scenario. Yeah, because it's not a big deal. It's not a big deal. Okay. If they realize that, they're not going to come to you and go, oh, we thanked you wrongly. You're just going to get, but if they realize it, they'll go to them and be like, oh, we sent you the wrong thank you card. I know, but I feel like I'm accepting a thank you card for it almost, I can't. Sometimes God shines on you when you don't expect it. Right. And you should just take it. Okay, okay. No one's being punt.

No one's being hurt because of this. Exactly. It is awkward. Do I know them? No. I tell them. No. Call them up, Ray.

Oh, call them on the air and tell them. Live. See, it's really not that big of a deal, though. Oh, so you don't want to do it. You don't want to tell them. No. But I mean, I think more of, I'm going to have my husband just shoot the dude a text. Oh, that's good.

You don't have to, but that's good. Like, hey, ha-ha, y'all thanked us for a really fancy espresso machine when we got you a salad bowl. Are you cool? do that? I think it's more his friend, so I'm going to have him handle it, but I think it's the right thing to address it just in case they want to properly thank whoever gave them the coffee machine. Did you do thank you notes to all your gifts? Yeah. Yeah, you got one. Did I? Yeah. Eddie, did you thank you cards after you? I don't think so. Well, your wife did. I wanted to, but I don't think we ever got to it. Well, I tell you, though, thank you cards just in general,

let's take out the wedding part of it. If you write thank you cards, those leave such a lasting impression. They do. Anybody that I have, and you know what, as a matter of fact, I think Abby, who works on the show, as, you know, she's one of, I think maybe the last person we brought on, I think I interviewed her for a job once, and she didn't get it, but she wrote a thank you note. Raymond Do, I know that you're kind of quarantined. Why don't you just send Abby in the room? She can see her here. Is she here? I'm going to grab her. I think she just ran out. Okay, grab her real quick. I think that's the, and if not, this is going to be a little awkward, much like your situation there with the, she's going to be like, I didn't send you a thing.

Let me see, though. Don't tell her what we're talking about, Scuba, if you can find her. So we'll bring Abby in here. And I think, I think if she wrote me a thank you card and I didn't hire her, she's like, thank you for interviewing me. And then it was time to hire somebody else. I was like, you know who I remember was Abby who wrote the thank you card. And I think that's, as we're talking about thank you cards, I think that's the main reason she got hired. All I'm saying is thank you cards are a big deal.

Yeah. It seems like they're not. But if you write them and you take the time, like Taylor Swift in her early career was known for writing thank you card. to a lot of people, a lot of program directors, and she would just write them one by one. And she started to be known as someone who pays attention to detail and takes time to thank folks.

And still people I know today have old Taylor Swift thank you cards from when she was 17 or 18 years old. Isn't that crazy? Oh, wow. Such a lasting impression. Is she out there? Yeah, she ran. We'll wait on her. Which one she's doing? We'll wait on her. We're like 10 minutes like, okay, well maybe we'll just let her go. We'll move on. It's fine.

Abby, what do you define your job as around here? Because you do a lot of stuff around here. But what do you, when someone says, hey, what do you do? Like, what do you say your job is? A little bit of everything. Yeah. It's like, go-to if anyone needs anything. What are you doing right now during the show, What were you doing? Well, editing audio. Good. So you're in there editing commercials, doing all that kind of stuff, behind the scene stuff. Yes. Now, a long time ago, if this is true or not, I interviewed you

for a job and you didn't get it. Yes. Right. Like two years ago? Right. What did you do after that? Not as a job. Did you write a thank you note to me? Yeah. Oh, I did. Yeah. Okay, let her tell. Well, I mean, I wrote a thank you note that said thank you for the opportunity. Thank you for taking the time to interview me. And yeah, that was a long time ago. It was. Now, this was the point I was making, because Abby didn't know what we were talking about just now, was that Amy got a thank you card for something that she didn't do. She bought someone a salad bowl. And they said, thank you for the espresso machine. It was cost way more money. But then it turned into how valuable I think thank you cards are. And I said, I was remembering your story. I said, hey, I interviewed Abby once for a job, didn't hire her.

but I remembered her thank you card so much that when the job came open I was like we got to go get her like it left that much of an impression I didn't know you read it yay I read it and I remember it today like you're back in the room editing audio and I bring up to them I'm like yeah that's why

she's kind of here that's pretty cool yay one of the things about interviewing and I wrote this in my one of my maybe my second book it was one of my many New York times of those well just two I only have two my second book called Fail Until You Don't I said hey when you go on to an interview

you're not interviewing for that job mostly. Most of the time they don't hire you from the interview. But what they do is they remember you later. Like if you go on and you do a great in an interview and they don't hire you, that's okay because that person is going to remember how good an interview you had. When it's time to go find somebody, you may be the person they call and they interview everybody else, but they're really hiring you. And that's what Abby did with me. I didn't know Abby. And she came in. You were doing promotions here? Yeah. And she didn't get the job. And I was like, man, that was a really great interview. She wrote a thank you card. And I was like, I had to go back and find a similar

position. I was like, you know, it was great from that first interview was Abby. Bam hired her. Next thing you know, she's in here on the air. Yay. Do you still have a thank you now? Oh, no, God, no. I don't keep any card whatsoever. I mean, I feel like you get the card. You read it. You read it. You treasure the message.

Even like a birthday card. People save that stuff. And that's great for them. But for me, I'm never going to look at it again. I'll just recycle it. Let it go somewhere else. But I got the message. Except here it is.

Abby, I actually have my phone. I carry it with me everywhere I go. Anyway, my whole point of bringing you in was to Amy just made me remember that. And it's very valuable, right? Thank you, Chris. And we were hoping it was you. Yeah, it was also going to be awkward if it wasn't you. I was like, no, I don't remember that. No, I do.

Are you still trying to be a singer in town? That's, I mean, I would love to be in a group. That's like what I would love to do. That's get sunday.com. Here's Amy's pile of stories. Miranda Lambert and her husband Brendan, they rescued a stray kitten that was on a Texas highway and they named it tequila. And the story is actually super cute because Miranda didn't even see the kitten initially. Her husband did. And she said that they were on a two-lane highway in Texas

going about 70 miles per hour when Brendan slowed down, did a U-turn. And she's like, what are you doing? He said, I saw a stray kitten and I knew you would kill me if I didn't pull over and we tried to do something about it without telling you. So they rescued it.

It's about four to five weeks old and weighs 14 ounces and they're going to keep it. That's cool. Miranda loves animals. Like she is a dog. lover. She named a dog after me once. Remember Bobby? Yeah, I didn't remember that. I should have adopted that dog. I think somebody got it before I even had the chance to get it. That's what's great. She gets a lot of those dogs adopted and Miranda at her shows.

And I don't have an NBA team. Growing up in Arkansas, we didn't have an NBA team. Oh, yeah. So it doesn't hurt you to be a Thunder fan. I've never had an NBA team. We didn't have pro sports where I grew up. Yeah. So I'm just a diehard thunder fan. Die hard. Mm-hmm. Let's see here. It's schedule. Mike's trying to show me a schedule, but it's not up yet. But I know they're playing Utah. I can't wait on ESPN. Yeah. All right. What else? So the Bachelorette will begin filming again shortly after July 4th.

And yeah, they're not letting the pandemic get in the way. The Bachelorette will be the first major TV show to return to production in the U.S. And the entire season will be shot in a quarantined location with all cast and crew members living on site. You know who you don't think about are a lot of the crew members who have to leave their families to go in quarantine? Where they're just working. But these crew members, they have to leave their families and stay quarantined. Well, I was thinking about that with the NBA story because they're living in that, like, what are they calling it? The bubble. And how, you know, physical therapists, trainers, all kinds of people that normally get to go home at night, even though they work with the NBA, they don't.

They don't. I know. That stinks. But they may be just happy to work, though, too, right? Oh, true. Yes. Yeah. your Nat Geo show, like, what kind of precautions are y'all going to be taking?

Super small crew. We get tested every episode. Oh, okay. That's good. Mm-hmm. So we go, we take the swabs in the holes. I've requested every hole. Okay.

I want to be tested in every hole just to make sure. But yeah, we have a crew of, I think, eight people total, and every single person gets tested. And we're going to locations that have not an uptick, only a downtick. I've often said rural areas don't need as much of, hey, you get a social distance, because you are social distance. Right. I grew up in a very rural area. Tough word to say. Rural?

Very hard. But that's what we're doing. All right. I'm Amy. That's my pile. That was Amy's pile of stories. Come on, Bobby. Over to Amy with the Morning Corny.

Morning Corny. What do you call two dogs breathing heavy? What do you call two dogs breathing heavy? heavy? A pair of pants. A pair of pants. That was the morning corny. My dog has figured out how to bang his head and get in the food closet. The pantry. For other people that may call it that. Sure. Where you put food. Yeah. It looks like a closet.

So what he does, he takes his head because it's a slide door and just goes, bam, bam, bam, bam. And he knows if he angles it a certain way, it'll just slowly come open, then he sticks his nose and a opens it. And he's only started doing this recently. So I left the house the other day and he's banging on it. And he goes in and gets a whole bag of these turkey dog treats. It's the whole bag. Nice. Yeah. And so I'm like, oh no. And so he's fine. He's fine. He's fine. Wake up the next morning. I take him out before I come to work. And it's like poop central, except it's not healthy poop. And then he's just been sick for like a day and a half. But I get it. It's the dang I also get, like when I get into something, I go hard too.

Like, I get it. But yeah, this dog is out. Eddie was at my house the other day and he's strong. So strong. And low. So it's hard to stop him because he's so short. He's a bulldog. Yes.

He almost ran out of the house three times. And one time he did and it caught his leash like really quick. And even just to get him back in the house, I was like, oh, I took all my strength to get him back. He's strong. He's a strong bulldog for sure. Anyway, that's my dog story. Cute.

No. He's cute, though. He's really cute. He jumped up in my bed. I forget to tell you this part. after he used bathroom and they got poop all over the bed. Ew. Oh,

And, you know, and I'll just tell you that, you know, and everybody that I'm doing a solo record and I'm working on a solo record right now. Is that breaking news? That's breaking news. I knew it already, but I keep such good secrets. I know. You're still loyal. Yeah, I'm so loyal. So wait, what is, then I'm going to ask you about

that. So you're doing a solo record. What was it feel like? What's the... So I'm doing a... First, I'm doing a solo... I'm doing a solo Christian record. It's been a dream record of mine forever. And I'm halfway done with that now. And it's, I'm so excited about it. It's just going to be great. And I think I'm going to do a solo country record right after that. Wow. Yeah. Now, what kind of expectation do you put on yourself in the solo country world where you've had... You're as successful as you could have possibly been. Mm-hmm. Like, you can't be bigger than the flats.

Yeah. So now it's you. Yep. How do you, like, what is the goal with you? Same? Yeah, I mean the same. I'll just see where God takes it. Sometimes it's difficult for the three of us to agree on songs to cut and things that I really believe in.

Most of the time it would work out. But I feel the responsibility in the calling to continue to keep singing. If Flats does or not. I'm just excited. I'm excited about doing my own thing and, you know, and excited to see what happens. and, you know, if the flats get together at some point when everything clears off. I mean, I don't know. And he's going to go do it solo country. Wow. It's exciting. There you have it. I tell a story on the podcast, too, how I wake up about a week or so ago. And so I grab it. and it was a Gary's spit can. No! No, no, no. Because he, Gary and I are friends, and he came over to the house, and he was hanging out, and he left a spit can there, and I was disgusted with it. That's gross. So, check it out. I thought you guys were all getting rooms altogether, bros. I know we were. And then I had links and stuff so I could hook up some people with free rooms. The link ended up not working and stuff. I made sure my boys were covered. And then I had a listener hit me up and say he could get me a crazy deal, but I had to book at a different hotel. You didn't tell them? No, I actually told them while they were in line checking in. Why? Because it's just like telling your

parents, do you tell them earlier? You tell them at the last seconds when you did something wrong. So you knew, though? I knew the whole time. And then lunch is at the counter and he goes, hey, guys, they said one of us doesn't have a room. And I go, oh, I guess now's the time I got to tell you. I'm not staying here. Why did you go to their hotel with them, though? Just to keep playing it. We're going to do the roulette spin. So I figured I could still buy a couple hours before he found out. Maybe he has a couple drinks and doesn't even realize I go to a different hotel. But it was for the better deal. I shouldn't have done it. It didn't ruin the trip, but I did feel bad about it. How much money did you save?

300? Really? Yeah. But why not tell them before you even leave? Like, hey, I just got hooked up with a cheaper room. He was scared. He was scared, right? Because it was a thing. We all wanted to go into the same hotel. So it was like I was the one guy that backed out of it all when I should have been. I was the one doing the rallying cry at the beginning.

And then I just felt like I turned on them all. But you had a great time. Amazing. I'm telling you. Did it hurt that you weren't with them? No, because actually I ended up doing just one night and then I slept on a couch at MGM the rest of the time. So you just slept in one of their rooms? Yeah. Yeah. So that's just how it ended up going down. That's Vegas. You never know what's going to happen.

What are you going to tell your fiancé because she's having our bachelor's party in Vegas in a few weeks? Yeah, I told her that they have actually a room where they're all staying together, which is going to be better than how we did it. They'll have fridges and stuff. We had no way to chill drinks. Conversation was very difficult in the casino floor. We had to go up to a room to talk. And the pool is going to be a bonus round for them. There's not as many people at the pool. You're spread out. It's beautiful. Would you recommend people go to Las Vegas right now or wait until it's a little more normal? If you love to gamble, go right now because the casino floors are not as packed and they're a lot more spacious.

So if you're playing cards, it's just you and one other person most times. Are you getting checked for COVID? I am in five days. We're friends with a con, so this contact. Let's see what in the background. He's getting hooked up in five days. Go ahead. So I have heard from a, they're called contact tracers.

They traced how the COVID. goes from people when they interact with other people. And they said once you were involved with possible COVID, you've got to wait five days. That's when you're going to get the optimal results from the test. If I was to take the test right now, I could be negative. I could be positive in three days. You really have to give it that time.

So what day of the week are you planning on getting tested? Thursday. So, and then I'll know. But I believe just from science, what I've heard, that's when you need to do it best. Just from science. Okay. But you guys are so spread out.

Yes. You in that room. Yes, I can barely even see scuba Steve. Lunch is in a completely other room. Yeah, I'm over here by myself. What's wrong with your voice? No, my voice is good. No, no, no.

He goes. Every time he goes. He goes too hard. No, listen, guys, Vegas with the masks and it wasn't very smoky, I didn't lose my voice. It's not a little weak right now. You hear it. Your voice is partially gone right now. Ah.

Listen, your voice is gone right now. I don't know about that. but I'm just telling you, man, I partied hard and the mass, maybe it kept my vocal cords a little wetter or moist, I don't know. But I came back and I was like, wow, I can actually still talk. This is crazy. The New Vegas is amazing.

So five days? Yeah. From when, wow. No hugs either? I mean, that honestly brings us really, really close together, coach. Yeah. Hugging. It's super.

Yeah. Lunchbox? Okay. No, we, I came home and I took a shower immediately. I threw all the clothes in the washing machine immediately. And then I hugged my kids and my wife. We slept in the same bed. We feel very comfortable with the precautions I took.

I was extra diligent. I had goggles on the plane. I had a mask. I wore my mask the entire time. dominated the mask game, and I will be getting tested tomorrow, so I feel comfortable where I'm at. Lunch is tomorrow, raised the next day. They're both getting tested after that.

You know, Brett Young, he was overseas and came back, and Brett Young has a wife and a baby, and he was like, you know, I'm not going to go into the house with him, so he just lived on his bus for like a week and a half. He parked his bus inside of his house, because he was like, hey, even if I feel like I'm not and did everything right, I don't want to expose them.

Gosh, that's rough. So I was talking, I did an interview with him on my Bobbycast podcast, and he was from his bus. And he was like, I'm just, I have a bus. I was thinking about this. We can all share one. But the first thing that comes to my mind, my favorite moment in a theater, I think I was probably 12 or 13 years old. My mom had just started either dating or married Arkansas. Keith one of those times he had just come into my life and he was like hey let's go watch white man can't jump and i never i don't think i've ever been to a movie maybe until i was 12 or 13 and to have someone take me kind of like a father figure because i didn't have a dad and i remember going to watch

white man can't jump and i was like wow this is crazy like someone took me to watch a movie wow it was a sports movie it was kind of a guy movie and that's the first thing that came to my Mine was Arkansas Keith taking me to watch white man can't jump when I was, you know, 12 or 13 years old. Dang, that's cool. It wasn't a scene or anything. Most people were like, when I saw this, but I was like, man, you know, what? So, and I'm going to see Arkansas Keith next week because we're going to Branson for Fourth

July. Then when we're done, we're driving down to Arkansas. You're going to go fishing with Arkansas Keith. Nice. Love it. And then drive back over. Amy, what is yours? Mine is when my sister and I went to see pretty woman at the movie theater with our parents.

Because we were too young for it. I for sure was, but I guess they couldn't find a babysitter and my dad really wanted to go. But there were certain scenes in the movie where I just remember him putting his hand over my face and I couldn't watch. How old were you? And now I know what those scenes are that I'm an adult. I eight or nine. That's cool though you remember that because of a special. Maybe.

Yeah, and Pretty Woman to this day is one of my favorite movies. And then we got it when we got home, whenever it came out on VHS tape, we had it. I think I still have it on VHS. So, and then for Halloween, I dressed up as, well. Which is wild. One, you saw the movie and then for Halloween you dressed as a prostitute at 8, 9 years old. I don't know. Well, technically, I think my mom thought I was, like, doing like an 80s punk look.

But I definitely went out on the street that I live on, and I walked up and down it. That's so weird. I don't think my parents really registered. what all was happening, and obviously at that age, I didn't really know the occupation of what was happening, but I figured out later, but still one of my favorite movies ever. Eddie, what's your favorite movie memory? All right, in a movie theater.

So this was before you can drink or really like have fancy dinners in, like, movie theaters. Now you can have beers or whatever during movies. But before then, you couldn't. And I'll never forget. I went to a movie with my cousin, and she surprised me with a six-pack of Miller Light. And I was like, what? How did you get that in here? So we sat, watched a meal.

I don't even remember what we watched, but we just... Oh, wow, you opened them? Oh, yeah. We would do the cough. No, no, we would do that as he opened it. I'll never forget that. And everybody if I heard it too. Well, I think they heard, like, whenever we'd try to get up to go to the bathroom and you kick over a beer can, it would roll.

Not going to mention where it is the case they're listening, but there's a new woman that's been working there and has taken notice to my order and has my coffee ready when I get there.

Although I've never seen her face, I'm very attracted to her. She looks very athletic. Her eyes are gorgeous, but I've never seen her without a mask on. And I've always been wearing mine each time as well. Here's my question. Is it a bad idea to ask a girl for a phone number while I'm wearing a mask? How should this go? Any suggestions would be amazing.

Thanks. Signed Toby. It reminds me of a Halloween scenario. This isn't the first time we didn't get to see everybody clearly before we asked him out. Because you would go out on Halloween and meet someone, you know, who was dressed as little bo-peep and she had on a big curly hair and a big dress and a big, you know, curly stick. And he'd be like, dang, she was hot. Yeah, but you don't know what she really looks like. But you really don't know.

Because she doesn't dress like little bo-peer. Right. Right. But you would like that. But you also just couldn't let it be washed away with the waves. Like if you were interested, you go, hey, but what you do is you try to schedule something that can be quick, well lit. And the mask thing's tough, though, because if you schedule something now, you're going to have to probably wear a mask for the most part. Wow.

I don't think it's a bad move because this is what I would do. I would say, hey, listen, you know, can I get your number? I like to call you. Then you text and get her Instagram. and then you look at all the pictures of her face on Instagram. There you go. That's the move. Honestly, when you were reading the note,

I thought that what he was going to ask us was, is it wrong if I ask her to just take off her mask real quick? Can I see what you look like? I don't think that that's wrong either later. That's awkward. If it was like, hey, you have a really cute voice. Let me see those lips. Pull that down real quick.

Let me see it. I think you have something on your... I think the move is, though, if you want to ask for a number, ask for it, see if she's single, and then get her Instagram and do Instagram stalking there. That'd be my advice. Yeah. I guess.

Or you could, these days, can't you just ask for the Instagram and not the number first? Whatever it is. The move is to get to her Instagram. Okay. Morgan, you're single, 26 years old. How would you suggest he live his life at this point? I think you had a really good suggestion, but I would definitely say at least, like, see, because I know to a lot of people's smiles are really important and, like, that kind of

kind of gives off the vibe of your personality is a smile or if you're not a smile or I don't know different things. So I would definitely see what's under the mask before you like commit to maybe going out. I don't think it's a bad idea to say, hey, we talk every day and I have no idea what you look like. It doesn't have to be creepy. Yes. You can go up to her and be like, hey, I appreciate you having my coffee already know what I like. Like, I feel like I know you, but I actually have no idea what your face looks like. And you don't have to say pull your mask down. Oh, man, I don't know. But if you say, no, no. Because think about it, she hasn't seen his face either so he could be like, I'll do it first.

Like, and he can... Again, that feels creepy. Yeah, me first, you first. I'll show you mine if you show me yours. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think the... I don't think there's anything weird about if you position it as, hey, look,

I just appreciate you always know what I like. Thank you very much. It's weird because I feel like we know each other, but I don't even know what you look like. And then put the ball in her court and see if she wants to flash you the chin. Flash you the chin. And if she doesn't, that's okay.

What if you do? like, hey, we'll pull it down at the same time. One. Two. Okay, my opinion is I don't think it's bad to say, hey, show me your face in a nice way, like I just said. But the goal is to get to Instagram so you can check it all out. Okay, could she just be really good at her job and she

treats a lot of her customers this way? Could be, but still that shouldn't stop them. Okay, I just didn't, you know, there's always that. You have to keep a keep a little bit of a guard up just because, you know. But if she says no, then it's weird going to get coffee for now on too. So know that.

If you go, let me get your number. She's like, no, it's going to be weird for now on. So you got to find a new coffee place, basically. Yeah. There you go. That's the mailbag. Close it up. And that was Bobby's Mailbag. Coming from the Bass Pro Shops and Cabella Studio on Music Row, it's the Bobby Bone show. I was reading a story about Rudy Gobert, who's the NBA player. When he got sick and had COVID, that's when they shut the NBA down. He was the player.

A lot of them have had it since, but he was that one. When he got tested, they were like, oh, everybody off. Do you remember that? Yeah, I think so. He's the one who touched all the microphones before and they went back and he was like, remember that? He was joking. He was joking around.

He was like, who has Corona? Touch, touch, touch, touch. Now I remember. Yes, yes, yes. So it's been almost four months since he tested positive, but he still says his sense of smell is MIA. Oh, man. He can't smell.

Oh, that is such a bummer. So March 11th, and that's the one that led to the shutdown of the NBA, and one of the common symptoms is loss of smell and or taste. And he's like, I still don't have it as far as smell goes. He has taste, but no smell. And so I have Jen Wayne from Runaway June on the phone who has talked about her. Hey, Jen, how are you? Good.

How are you guys? Good. Did you hear me talking about Rudy Gobert in his? Yes. Okay. What did you lose and taste and smell and do you have it back? Yes, thank God. Yes, I do.

But I, after all my symptoms were gone, I noticed I couldn't smell anything. And I could taste salt. Like if I had a saltine, I could taste the salt. But other than that, everything was just bland. And it lasted about four days. And then it just slowly started coming back. But it definitely freaked me out.

I'm like, what if it never comes back? I can't believe he still hasn't gotten his back. On the Runaway June next album, they're going to have a song, What If I Never Taste Again? It's going to be rooted in her. Yeah. First, number one. Just a deep sad, what if I never taste again?

Yeah, so, but that's weird, right? And that's how you kind of thought you knew you had it at first, was not being able to taste or smell? Yeah, because I didn't have the traditional, like, symptoms of fever and the shortness of breath. I just had body aches and severe fatigue. So I thought something was wrong, but I wasn't 100% sure. And then when I lost my sense of smell, I was like, oh, boy, I have this sucker.

Isn't that crazy? Yeah, and also, you don't think about smelling things like if you're in the house and your oven, you leave something in the oven too long. You can smell it, or if there's a leak, you can smell the leak. You don't realize how much you actually use your sense of smell. True.

What do you say, Eddie? Yeah, that was my question. Like, how do you test that? Like, do you just pick something that's really strong odor? And you're like, no, I can't smell it at all. Yeah, like I would spray perfume and I couldn't smell a single thing. That's crazy.

Like something that's... It was so weird. Dang. Well, a couple things that I want to do here. One, I'm going to play you guys as new song in a second since you were nice enough to grace us with your presence. Do you want to... Let me ask you this, though.

They were good, but I had them all in one meal. And Caitlin wish she'd had some. Oh, Caitlin didn't have any? I had them home. Why didn't you say? I think that's the problem. You ate them all. I was pretty selfish.

Like you really feel like you had a bachelor party experience. Yeah, I don't know what else I could have possibly done. We did A to Z. Love it. Do you feel like you missed Eddie and I or not really? I'm telling you a couple times at the table. There was a chair or two wide open where we could have used a six, you know, the whole groomsman, a group. Were the only two that weren't there of the groomsmen?

Well, and my nephew, but he's only 12. Oh, no, and the best man. And Billy, yeah, he got- Corona. Oh, there's four people. He got what? Excuse me? Corona.

Is that why? He got Corona? See, this is why. We didn't know this. Wait, what? I thought you said he had something come up. Yeah, Corona. That's what he said.

COVID-19. That came up. Seriously? Why do you not tell us? things. Well, I mean, I believe he got the test while I was in Vegas and then yes, he confirmed with me that he did have Corona. He's now been quarantined now

and I think he's almost better. He's on the other side of it. Oh, man. Yeah, guys, something came up with him. Yeah. I think he said personal matter. An infectious disease. Oh, God. Is he okay, though? Yeah, he said it was twice as bad as a hangover. At times you do some sweating

and weird stuff like that, but it's the flu times about five or ten. with him ever leading up to it? No. Is he live in town? He's in Austin, Texas. Okay, so you weren't. Yeah. Okay. Well, Lunchbox, did you go out in Vegas and talk to people or is this from here in town? No, that was in Vegas. I figured we're on the bachelor party and we're celebrating Ray getting

married. So I hit up married people in Vegas and said, hey, give my boy here some marriage advice. All right, here we go. Here's Club one. That's pretty cute. I love that for him. Love that for him. So it's probably not going to work. It's just what I'm going to tell him. Because I don't think we're a dying breed. Those of us have been married a long time, we're a dying breed, right? Marriage just ain't it, brother. That's good.

Marriage ain't it, brother. Wow, brother. What? Interesting. Good advice. All right, here's advice number two. I'm going to tell you, don't do it. Number one cause divorce is marriage.

If you could tolerate her, that's great. But you're still married. I'm still married. What's the key to marriage? Like, what makes it work? The key is just knowing you're wrong and doing whatever she asked whenever you possible. That's what I was going to say. Huh.

That's someone else. That's what I was going to say. Kind of good marriage. All right. Here's advice number three. 12 years of marriage, lots of sex. That's it? 12 years tomorrow.

And what's your advice from one way? You know what? Just listen to your wife. Make sure that you're listening to her and you are listening to what she needs. Okay. And it doesn't have to be physical. Emotional needs are very important. Oh yeah, way more important.

And you know what? If your wife says, hey, honey, I just need 10 minutes alone. You give her 10 minutes. Give her 20. It's a give her 20. Ray, how do you feel about that? Some of the people are, yeah, pretty depressing when it comes to marriage.

I would have hoped for some more upbeat of advice and opinions. But yeah, whatever. That's what you get at a Vegas pool party. Some of those people had had some booze. Let's be real. That's where you did it at the pool? Yeah, people laying out trying to get their tan on, you know, chilling in their bikinis.

It was a perfect opportunity to go Chalk to some girls in bikinis. Yeah. All right. Morgan Wallin, chasing you, Bobby Bone and shit. He just see the picture of them like at the pool. Oh, yeah. It looked like two pap-baws.

The chicks. said that to him too because I just kept saying I said hey don't write that I'm not acknowledging their name change

I just and I'll say whatever I'm supposed to say as far as like I'll get to it event like I'll soon it'll be natural but it doesn't feel natural yet yeah and so I was like don't take me accidentally slipping and saying dixie chicks and I'm not ever going to call them the chicks I'll call them I'll call them chicks whatever they want me to call them I'll call them uh but yeah I didn't want interview about that you know what's so weird to me about interviews is off the record and on the record you know you all do that as long as you say off the record suddenly they just don't print it. I don't ever trust anything to be off the record. I don't know if you should do that. I know, but I mean, no, I see this in TV shows and movies and stories where it's like off the record real quick. And then you're, it's just like, is it like an unspoken like thing? I mean, it's spoken, but understood because it's not official.

Right. Yes, but I never say anything off the record. The only thing is off the record ever is I have friends that are in the industry or artists and we hang out and everything is. Off the record. We don't talk about it. Because, again, we have to kind of talk about their music. Right. And it's not like it's anything bad, but it's like, yeah, nothing that happens here is going to get talked about.

Right. Or you can't write a song about it, you know, as that kind of thing. Yeah. That's weird. I don't know. I don't do interviews like that. I know, but I'm picturing you saying that to him where he's just like, oh, and by the way, Bobby can't quite get the name thing down. And then he told me not to report that he can't get the name thing down.

So I'm saying it anyway. He told me not to say that he's calling a dictionary. Well, you're going to be explaining that. That'd be fine, right? Yeah. Yeah. But I talk for a living for five hours a day. So everything I say is on the record.

Yeah. Even if I'm just casually mentioning it. So I just feel like my life is on the record. Yeah. No, I get it. It's confusing me when I see it in a movie. Because I'm like, yeah, right. I'll call a reporter.
