Owning a home comes with a lot of things nobody really prepares you for, including yard care.
Sunday is a company trying to make that part easier.
They start with a soil test and climate data to build a yard plan tailor to where you live,
then ship everything directly to your door.
no guesswork, no dragging bags of fertilizer.
And instead of harsh chemicals, Sunday uses simple, nutrient-dense ingredients like seaweed, molasses, and iron.
Everything hooks up to a hose, which honestly sounds like my speed.
If your yard feels more stressful than satisfying, Sunday's approach makes a lot of sense.

So maybe you're doing something else too,
like maybe scrolling home listings on Redfin,
saving places you like without thinking you'll even get them.
Because that's what house hunting has become.
But Redfin isn't built for endless browsing.
It's built to help you find and own a home.
Redfin agents close twice as many deals as other agents,
which means when you find a place you love,
you've got a real shot at getting it.
Redfin helps turn saved listings into real addresses.

Folks, it's your buddy and mine.
Mr. Bobby Bones.
Let's go.
We're transmitting across America.
This is the Bobby Bonds.
Boy, oh, boy.
We got a good show today.
Ronnie Dunn from Brooks and Dunn's going to come by again and hang out.
Love that guy.
Let's see what's happening in everybody's life here as we get to the first Friday of the 2020, right?
First Friday?
Right?
Technically?
I don't think so.
First Friday.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, on our front.
There you go.
Morning studio.
Morning.
All right, what's the haps?
Hey.
Hey, what's the hats?
Well, I give you an idea of what I do in the morning before I get to work.
I walk into my office and there are two stacks of papers.
One thick stack on the left is all the station liners where it's like, hey, it's Bobby.
I'm big 955 Chicago and I cut a page for them.
I do Denver.
I do Pittsburgh.
I kind of roll through.
The other side is a page of commercials that I do for the show, the national show,
and also for the local markets that I'm in that I'll, I'll,
do. And I was doing this commercial for a place called Nordic Stone in Wichita, Kansas. And so
this is how it starts. Hey, it's a perfect time to update your home with granite or quartz
countertops from Nordic Stone. And then I do the commercial and I give it off. But I'm talking to
Amy about it. And that's what Amy did before she joined the show. She sold countertop. Granite.
Yes.
Like you worked at a place like this. I sold to them. So like I would, it was the wholesaler. So my
company imported all the stone. And then fast.
fabricators such as Nordic would buy from me or send their clients to pick out the big slab.
And then I would never see the finished product really.
You go knock on the door at the house.
Mr. Winfro, we heard.
Can I see your counter?
Can I see that?
But yeah, no, I would sell the big slabs of it.
Well, that reminded me that I should come on and let everybody know what Amy used to do before she came here.
She was literally selling rock.
And I hired her from that to come be my sidekick.
Like I worked in a granite yard in Austin.
I mean, summer days were like 100 plus degrees outside,
and I'd be hiking through to measure some piece of rock for somebody.
And she took a pay cut to come over here.
It's awesome.
Yeah. And still hadn't got a raise.
That's what's the house.
Hey, what's the hat?
Amy?
So I need advice on how to get out of a conversation without being rude
because I had some stuff going on here.
Well, I mean, we always do.
We're doing the show.
So if we run out to the hallway to go to the bathroom
or grab something from the kitchen real quick,
and someone tries to start a conversation, it gets awkward,
because I gotta go.
We have a live show happening.
Are you ready for the ultimate move?
I'll just give it to you right now.
I need it all the time.
Because I'm so awkward.
And then I'm like, right.
And I do this, and I just hear in the studio.
I do this at other things too.
I just go, oh, crap.
And then I dart off.
Wow.
And then they're like, oh, something just happened.
They don't know.
Sometimes there's nothing happening.
I'll get cornered somewhere.
I'd be like, oh, crap.
And then I just take off.
And they're like, oh, well, you must have had an emergency.
Every time.
Never not worked.
Okay.
Yeah, there you go. It's good to know.
A little piece.
By the way.
You never stayed around to see if it worked or not.
No, no, I'm telling you.
If I was talking to somebody and you and I were talking to Eddie and you were like, oh, crap, and you took off, I'll be like, oh, he had to go get some business.
It must have been something.
Something happened right there.
That's the move, especially here.
Thank you for that.
You're welcome.
Advice administered.
Hey.
Hey, what's the hatch?
I want to know if I overreacted because we go to a specialist every week for my wife's pregnancy because she has gestational diabetes.
So I get to measure the baby and all this once a week.
and we go to this same place,
and they kind of have a rotating doctor
that you see every week as a different doctor.
Well, we've seen this one doctor three weeks in a row.
And every time she comes in the room,
we'll just call her Dr. Dum-Dum.
She comes in and she's like,
hi, guys, I'm Dr. Dum-Dum.
Nice to meet you.
And I want to just yell at this lady and say,
look at the chart.
That is your handwriting.
You wrote down the information last week.
And so at the front desk,
I told him, we never want to see Dr. Dumm again.
I don't understand why you're.
Because she doesn't, she probably sees so many people.
But on the chart, it has her handwriting.
Maybe she assumes you don't remember her.
I don't think it's a reason to get upset.
You're really mad about this.
You're really mad at us.
Your doctors should remember you.
Look at the chart, say I'm the one that wrote that down.
So I obviously met you.
Nice to see you again.
How's the pregnancy nut?
Nice to meet you.
How do you feel?
I don't know.
I don't know.
I just feel like sometimes when I overreact like that,
there might be something else going inside of me that I'm mad about.
not really Dr. Dumm-Dum.
Yes, it's not Dr. Dumbum's fault.
There's some other pent-up rage that that's probably what.
Dr. Dumb Dumb says, I like to go to Dr. Dumbum.
She sounds cool.
She was reintroduce herself every time.
That's amazing.
All right, let's go over to Eddie.
Hey!
Hey, what's the hatch?
So my wife has pneumonia in both lungs right now.
Your wife has pneumonia?
Yeah, she's had it for about a week.
We had to go to the urgent care when we were in Texas,
and she's been battling it.
And last night, she's just kind of, it just,
has bad nights, bad days or whatever.
And I've got to take over dad role, you know, just like single parent role.
And it's tough, man.
Like, you know, there are a lot of single parents out there that have to do this stuff by themselves.
And it's hard.
Four kids.
Four kids making dinner.
And my wife still takes them to school.
I pick them up from school.
I take them to their extracurricular activities.
Make them dinner.
Help them with homework.
Put them to bed.
And, you know, like when two are behaving, two are misbehaving.
So it's just hard.
It's a shout out to all the single parents out there that have to do this all the time.
your oldest son, who's 11, does he help manage any of the other smaller kids?
He's good with the baby. He kind of instigates the little boys. Like, all three of them together
are, it's a nightmare. But with a baby, he's awesome. Carries the baby. He'll even feed the baby
the bottle, play with the baby. He's great. But yeah, with the other two kids, they're just all
three, just like nightmares. If your foster kids were to not be your foster kids anymore and go back
to their birth parents.
Yeah.
Would your two sons be sad?
Ooh, yeah.
That's a good question, but I think they would.
Especially my six-year-old, because he's tight with our other foster kid.
They're tight.
They do everything to get their bones.
As soon as they get home from school, everything together.
They don't separate.
I mean, if one picks up the PlayStation, the other one's playing with them.
Who's the leader of those two?
My son.
Yeah.
Yeah.
our six-year-old.
Well, man, I didn't know your wife had pneumonia.
She does, and she's getting better, but I mean, she just has her days where she's got to stay in bed for a little bit.
Well, shout out to all the single parents.
Is that what you're doing?
Yes.
All right, there you go.
Hey, that's what's the haps?
Hey, what's the haps?
What's the happening in our life?
Here's the Bobby Bones Show podcast, highlight segment of the day.
On the phone now is Ph.D. Peter, who we heard from weeks ago, when he asked out Morgan number two on a date.
And he didn't sound weird or creepy or anything.
No.
And he has a PhD.
He's a doctor.
and so he didn't come to town for a long time
and all of a sudden he goes hey I'm coming to town
let's go on a date and Morgan number two has agreed
to go on a date with him how does that make you feel Peter
I am incredibly excited
Morgan it's looking forward to meeting you
listen how proper this guy's down
this guy you want to marry
come on Peter where did you grow up
I grew up here in Santa Barbara
and so what lane are you in at the
What do you teach specifically?
I teach, well, is this on the air?
Yeah, just be generic about it.
I teach public policy is my specialty.
Okay.
And I understand keeping private some of what you do,
because I did the same thing with what you sent us.
I just shared a bit of it.
Very smart guy.
Yeah, no problem.
Very smart guy.
And now you're coming to town this weekend.
Yes, my college roommate got a hall pass from his wife and daughter,
and he said, let's go somewhere.
And I said, how about Nashville?
And did you say that because Nashville is somewhere that you would have,
you'd have went to anyway,
or because you knew Morgan Number 2 was here and that maybe you'd go on a date with her?
Well, I do, I'm going to visit my very good friend's newborn kid,
so I did want to come from that.
But in the back of my mind, I was hoping that Warren might remember me.
And you know what's great about that Morgan number two
is that he's not coming here just for you.
If he was flying across the country
Just want to confide with you
I'd be like, oh boy
But he's coming here
Something else
And maybe this is a love connection
Maybe not
Statistically, probably not
However,
nothing is ever supposed to work
But some of them do
Would you agree with that statement
PhD, Peter?
I think that's exactly right, Bobby
And I think this could be
The greatest meeting story of all time
This could be the greatest meeting story ever
Yes, I'm with this
I love love.
Okay.
Ph.D. Peter is on it. Now, Peter, I don't know if you've heard, but you and Morgan will be going to coffee together with Mike D, who's a writer on the show and his girlfriend. Are you okay with a good, solid double date?
I think double dates are fun.
What do you think you'll talk about with Morgan number two, Peter?
I'm looking forward to talking about first date stuff. I want to hear about her life in Nashville, her favorite restaurants, you know, her favorite weekend stuff.
I'd love to tell her a little bit about California and my wine.
collection if she's, don't bore her to tears with that.
His wine collection?
Oh, wow. That's cool. Do you have a wine collection?
We have good wine out here in California, Morgan.
And she likes to drink.
I do. I do like to drink.
All right, well, there we have it.
There we have it.
How do you feel about this?
Man, I think it's great. I love Peter taking his shot, but just hearing his voice,
hearing his voice, sounds a little too nerdy from Morgan number two.
Well, Morgan number two has, first of all, as a fellow nerd, I'm not going to be offended because I think there's a real strength to knowing what you're going to say and saying it in a way, a very intelligent sounding way.
But when Morgan number two, she's often went after bad dudes that are the opposite of him.
And PhD, not bad.
You never, have you ever been out with a PhD?
Oh, I've been out with a dentist.
That's not a PhD.
And a doctor.
I've had both.
Oh, wow.
Oh, wow. Dang.
Edison.
All right.
Like a PhD.
I'm trying the whole range here.
Low key flex.
She's like, I've been to the doctor.
I've been out with a dentist.
Lawyer.
Now I'm going out of Ph.D.
Well, I'm anxious to see how this goes.
Pete, I'm glad you're coming to town.
When do you get to town?
I get to town tomorrow.
Okay.
And then Sunday you guys are going to go out.
Yeah, thanks for facilitating this body.
You're welcome.
Morgan, thanks.
Looking forward to meeting you.
What are you going to say, Morgan?
I have to say, though, you have to be prepared because apparently,
I've found out that I can't wear makeup after I get LASIC done.
For how long?
For at least a couple days, which that's going to be a couple days.
Well, I'm sure you are gorgeous without making.
Datta boy, Pete. Morgan and I are friends.
I've seen her without makeup a bunch of times because we work out together a lot.
Let me tell you, she's just as beautiful without makeup as she is.
Oh, thank you, Bobby.
So should Pete bring flowers or something?
Well, I'm not telling Pete anything because then you won't get credit for doing it himself.
off. So on Sunday, do you have a coffee shop ready, Mike?
What's the place?
Oh, what time? What time? I don't say what time, but they're going to go to the frothy
monkey right in the middle of everything. Morgan number two, 26. Ph.D. Pete. How old are you, Pete?
36. And that's a good age for her because she likes older guys. If you haven't heard, she hasn't
a thing for Sylvester Stallone. Perfect. All right. PhD, Pete, can't wait to hear the update
next week, okay, bud. Do you work out? Good question. height and weight, PhD.
in 70. Wow. Nice. Pretty perfect. So do you, what do you do to stay so trim?
I ran in college, so I keep running. He's an athlete. Oh, wow. You ran in college. He was an
athlete. You ran from who or during what? The mile was my favorite event. And how fat, what was your
fastest mile? Well, so it was actually 1,500 meters, so just less than a mile, but I could run a little
under four. Wow.
Do you know that genetically what kind of babies
you guys will make? Because Morgan, you're an athlete too.
I'm an athlete, but I'm not a runner. If this ever
works out, I'm not running marathons on
holidays. I refuse to stay around.
Okay, you didn't escalate it quickly.
On a sudden, Morgan number two doesn't want to run
the turkey trot, so she's getting upset.
I'm just making sure that that's known that I'm not a good runner.
Okay, so Sunday, PhD, Pete, and Morgan number two will go on a
date and we'll hear about it next week. Hey, Pete, good to talk to you,
bud, and talk to you soon.
Have a great day, studio.
All right, there he is.
P&P, everybody.
The Bobby Bones show.
Big Three Stories.
Let's go over to our producer, Ramundo.
Ramundo, what you got over there?
Megan Markle has returned to North America.
After quitting the royal family, sources say she's staying here for the foreseeable future.
In Australia, firefighter reinforcements have arrived.
100 U.S. firefighters were welcomed with applause.
They're joining the battle against the brushfires that have killed 26.
In sports in Boston, a drunk basketball fan was arrested in
Band from TD Garden for life for throwing a can of hard seltzer on the court during a Boston Celtics game.
On a phone is Jenna in Des Moines.
Hey, Jenna, good morning.
Thanks for calling us here.
What's happening?
Hi, this is Jenna from Iowa.
I am starting a brand new job today.
I am in a brand new city over the holidays.
I moved and everything is very new to me.
So I'm wondering if you and the gang have any advice for me for this brand new adventure that I'm going on.
You leave for work in a couple minutes, and the nerves are starting to kick in.
So where'd you move from?
I moved from Cedar Falls to West Des Moines.
Okay, so it's not like you're moving from Boston or Los Angeles to Des Moines, right?
Right, right.
I'm still in Iowa.
I'm still with my fellow Iowans, but it's still very, very new.
I've changed a lot.
When I was growing up, I went to, I think, four different schools.
So I had to change schools a lot and be the new kid.
And then I had to live, I think I've moved.
to completely new cities four times.
I've had like eight solid moves in me.
So I know what it's like to be the new person.
Here's my advice to you, and it's very simple.
Just, it just takes time.
That's it.
You'll figure it out, just like you figured it out 97 times before,
whether it's first day in college, first day in high school,
first day when you moved to a new city.
It's kind of all the same that it feels uncomfortable
and you get to know a couple people,
then you'll get to know a couple people,
and then before you know it,
you kind of have your own little support system
and just take a deep breath and let it go.
And you only grow if you're stretched.
So I think it's a good thing.
You know what?
You have any friends there?
Yeah, yeah.
I moved with a good friend,
and I have my best friend from high school here in Des Moines.
So I have a good community here,
Don With me that are supporting me.
Oh, yeah.
You're good.
When I moved to Austin,
I lived in Arkansas,
and I moved from Arkansas to Austin.
I'd never even been to Austin.
Like never went there.
I got in a bunch of trouble breaking into a radio station
in Arkansas.
And so they were like,
that's crazy what you did.
You should move to Austin
and do nights there.
I was doing a nighttime show there.
And so I just packed up my crap,
moved to Austin.
Didn't know a single person there.
I remember driving in
and my Pontiac Sunfire.
Just packed to the gills.
Everything I had was,
and I got there
and didn't know anybody.
And I didn't know my boss.
I never met my boss at the time.
I didn't have a single friend there.
I moved in with somebody
who I didn't know.
How did you meet your roommate?
Like connections,
I know somebody who knows somebody
and they needed a roommate.
So I didn't know anyone
and it was really the best thing
that happened to me
because you have to develop a skill.
You have to re kind of hone that
I'm new, I need to learn,
I need to make new friends
because if you move somewhere
and you already have a little tiny friend circle,
sometimes that'll keep you from growing your circle
because you just stay with them.
I think it's exciting for you.
I was grew the most
when I was put in uncomfortable situations, Jenna.
Yeah, I'm ready.
I'm excited, but the nerves are starting to kick in
while I'm brushing my teeth and I'm like, I'm going to call
my friends over at the Bobby Bowen Show.
Well, I'm glad we could be there for you.
Good luck. Tell everybody we say hello.
I love Iowa so much.
You guys have been so good to me.
So appreciate you.
We love you too.
Okay, I'm on the way.
I don't have much of a friend.
I'm coming up.
All right, but there she is.
Okay.
She loved us.
How you feel about that, Amy?
I feel good.
That's good advice.
Time.
And then I would also say, like, join.
She has friends.
But joining things.
Like for me, it helped when I joined a gym.
I found a church that I liked and got involved in the community and I met people.
That takes a minute.
Yeah.
That takes time.
Yeah.
So, okay, thank you for your call.
Krispy Kreme has added new mini donuts with less than 100 calories.
Exciting for someone that has a moderation button, I do not.
I would go, oh, little ones.
I can have nine.
Right.
Oh, interesting.
The donut chain announced the launch of their new mini donut.
Their tiny treats.
They put them in a big box, though, so there's a lot of times.
Right.
Do you buy 20 of them?
Yeah.
If you can just have one, then okay.
Can you have one?
Can you have one?
I'm starting to get to where I can, but I think there was a time for sure, no, where I couldn't.
Because I had a mindset of like, oh, if I eat that, then I've kind of blown it.
Might as well eat it all because I'm not going to eat anymore tomorrow.
And I have, for the past few months, I've been working on that type of attitude in my brain.
Like, I've literally been trying to train my brain and be like, it doesn't matter.
I can have that one and it doesn't mean I've blown anything.
Like it literally doesn't matter.
I should just move on with my day.
But I've spent way too much time obsessing over that.
So I think now I probably could.
I talk to Sugar Sean sometimes.
Well, that's the name I give the guy that wants sugar in my head because he wants all sugar.
Sugar, Sean.
I do.
I talk to Sugar Sean and I'm like, you don't stop.
Go away.
I need to.
Right.
Stop.
But Sugar Sean either lives with me or is in another neighborhood.
And so I can't have one tiny donut.
But I do talk to Sugar Sean.
I'm like, ooh, not today, Sugar, Sean.
Not today, because he's always crazy.
I love sugar so much.
And I know in 15, 20 years it's going to be like cigarettes.
Where we go about, we're like, we can't believe doctors.
We're suggesting cigarettes.
Process sugar, yeah.
Yeah.
There are commercials about cigarettes.
Process sugar.
We're going to look back and I'm going to have Sugar Sean to think.
Do you name your voices?
Now I'm trying to think.
I don't know that mine would just be, like if I had to shut a voice down
it would probably be bad food beddy.
Like it's not just sugar.
I just would treat anything.
Like if I had a french fry, I think, well,
might as well eat all the french fries because I'm never going to have a french fry again.
And it's so bad to think that way.
Well, I don't keep sweets in my house.
I don't keep anything in my house because I don't moderate well.
Just in general, no moderation.
I was reading this story.
They say that social networks and things around you play such a significant role in how much you weigh,
people with obese partners, family members, close co-workers are two to three times more likely to be obese themselves.
And so I know this specific story, we're talking about food, but this goes with anything.
If you want to be more positive, you have to surround yourself with positive people.
If, let's say you're just surrounding yourself with negative people, or it didn't have to be positive negative.
It can be people with great work ethics.
Poor work ethic.
You are what you surround yourself with.
You are completely your environment.
It's true.
We may not even realize it, but it's true.
You're affected in so many ways, even subconsciously.
Imagine if you have a bunch of friends who are exercise freaks.
Well, you want to socialize with your friends.
You're hearing about it all the time.
You want to take part of conversation.
You're either going to get a new set of friends
or you're going to become an exercise freak yourself.
And it doesn't even have to be, it can be clothes.
Think about your friends that are super trendy.
You know what I was talking about certain clothes.
You are who you surround yourself with.
And that's the number one thing I talk about with people when they set goals.
It's, okay, I know that's what you want to do,
but what are you going to surround yourself with
that actually helps you get to that goal?
I think on this show,
and I'll give you an example here in this room,
I am not very friendly as far as like,
yay, in the morning.
I'm not a morning person.
I never have been.
So what I have done is I have put people on this show
that come in and are in pretty good moods in the morning
to lift me up.
Amy, Morgan, number two,
and I don't know how grown up you guys think you are,
but you're not.
You're actually quite friendly.
Eddie's always in a good mood.
Oddly.
Weirdly.
Yeah.
It's really weird.
And so I have, because I know my weakness put myself around people that aren't.
And I don't know.
And it doesn't, I don't come in and I'm like, woo.
But it does lift me 9%.
I said in my office with Amy and she's like, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
I'm like, how do you have this much energy to even talk right now?
So whatever you want to do in your life, wherever you feel like your weakness is and we all have them.
I would suggest that you, maybe surround isn't the word because it's hard to do that.
but put yourself near people that you want to be like
for whatever quality or trait that is.
I do it.
I have to do all the time.
Even creatively.
Like there are times where I need to be around people
that push me creatively.
So, but this is about food.
So if you're, this is that whole story.
Because a healthy culture does play a big part
of people's lives and where they're going.
If you had a bunch of friends that read books all the time
and it's what they talked about was reading books,
you would start to read books more.
Yeah.
I haven't, I mean, a lot of my friends.
All Amy's friends were a tiger and leather print.
Amy tells them, Tiger Lotherprint.
Yeah.
All the time, where, or whatever we've been to get on Netflix.
Literally, it's just trends.
You're around trends.
It's the same thing, just a much smaller, a micro version of that.
So put people around you to help you make better decisions and help you be a better
you.
That's my advice this morning.
The latest from Nashville and Hollywood.
Morgan number two's 30-second skinny.
Zach Brown Band is hitting the road this summer with their roar with
The Lions Tour.
The set list will feature music from the band,
along with the selection of cover songs.
The tour kicks off May 24th.
Little Big Town shared the title song
off of their new album coming out on January 17th.
Here's Nightfall.
Ronnie Dunn's album of covers called Redone is out today.
Here's him singing Amarillo by Morning.
Amarillo by morning from Santa Tom.
I'm Morgan number two.
That's your skinny.
It's time for the good news.
With Amy.
I love a good animal wheelchair story.
And this one is a chicken.
She was born disabled.
She had like a slip tendon in her legs.
So the chicken wasn't able to walk.
Kind of had a strut.
And they built the chicken a tiny wheelchair,
made out of plastic pipes.
I'm looking at wheeling around.
The chicken wheels in a wheelchair.
Yeah.
Do I love that?
I love a good turtle or a chicken wheelchair.
Me too.
I love one people go all day.
I do too.
I don't know why,
but I'm also fascinated with that.
Well, it's just people getting creative.
and being like...
And doing something they don't have to do.
Problem solving, yes.
They could easily...
They just go to Home Depot,
whip up a little wheelchair,
as nothing too crazy, but that's so cool.
And you can play with little chicken friends.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah, there you go.
That's what it's all about right there.
That was Tell Me Something Good.
Bobid Bones show.
Bonehead.
Norrie up the day.
This story comes to us from Spain.
There was a woman doing a live broadcast on the news
talking about a lottery story,
and she goes, oh my goodness,
I just won the lottery.
I quit.
not coming to work tomorrow.
Live.
Live on the air.
Then she goes home and realizes she only won $5,000.
Oh my gosh.
Did her job take her back?
I don't know.
It said she had to go on Twitter and apologize,
but there was no report if she got her job back.
I tell you, even if I want a million,
I'm not quitting right then.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'm going to put it in something safe.
I'm going to take it and make sure I get that check.
That's being responsible.
She just goes, I'm out.
So I...
She must have hated.
that job, though. For that to be your reaction?
I saw that on the news.
And when Lunchbox just brought this up,
it made me think of another story I saw on the news.
I don't know if it was like a year-end recap
or like a highlight from the decade of something that happened.
But like a woman
gave her boss her kidney.
Did you see the story? She gave her boss her kidney.
And then she got fired for too much leave from work.
That can't be true. During recovery. Yeah.
That's just rude.
Is that like the story where I found the golden
that people selling tickets to heaven?
No, this is true.
Because I think when I saw that story on the news,
I saw the same ones.
I don't know.
That's a terrible boss.
Isn't that crazy?
It says a New York woman fired after donating kidney to help boss.
And the reason for her termination was too much time off recovering.
Wow.
I mean, that is.
I was it real, though.
She's taking like extra time.
I don't know the story.
It says ABC News, so it's a legit.
Thank you.
Go ahead.
I mean, it says that she was fired.
That's what her story is.
Debbie Stevens, a 47-year-old divorced mother of two, filed a formal complaint.
Claiming her boss, used her for Oregon, and then fired her.
Oh, wow.
What did she do?
She just wasn't there?
Well, she had to take off from work to, like, have the surgery.
Right.
But then I guess she had only so many vacay days or sick days.
Well, there you go.
Okay, lunchbox, wrap us out.
I'm lunchbox.
That's your bonehead story of the day.
The Bobby Bones show.
It takes more than two months to talk.
turn a resolution into a habit. So it's January 10th. And if you guys made resolutions, I hope you're still
sticking with them. And so they say it takes 66 days to turn a resolution, which is a new goal into a habit.
And I was thinking about this. And I mentioned that I had a goal for the year. I don't like to do
resolutions, like full changes, like, I'm going to change who I am. But I do like to set goals at certain
times. Here's my new goal for 2020. I'm going to, in 2020, play five rounds of golf.
I don't know that I've played a round of golf in four or five years.
It's been a long time.
Because I just consume myself with work and I'm traveling.
Was it the tournament that we did?
We did a charity tournament in Arkansas.
I didn't even play the whole thing.
I just went and did the charity aspect of it.
So I'm going to play five rounds of golf this year.
All right.
I think the weather's good today if you want to start.
No, I'm getting busy today.
But I'm going to, you know what's going to happen.
It's come back in November and I'm going to play five days in a row.
You're like, I have to get this in.
But I'm just doing it as some kind of balance in life.
Yeah.
And I know if I say I'm going to do five, I'll end up playing five.
So first of all, everybody needs two months to switch out and make your resolution an actual thing.
And for me, it's going to be five rounds of golf.
I'm going to play this year.
I love it.
I've said it out loud.
It's so much more than that.
Some people might be like, okay, yeah, five rounds of golf.
But you're like, it's deeper than that.
It's about you, like you said, finding the balance.
Yeah, this is my year.
I'm also balancing a little bit more.
And I don't think people realize that golf is a four hour at least.
least four-hour commitment. So, I mean, that's a lot. I mean, you don't have that much time. So you're
going to have to make that a priority. I tried to play last year. Because I just need to find something
to wind myself down a bit. I tried to play last year once. I couldn't have time for one round.
You're right. We talked about it. But I didn't make it a priority, right? We are our priorities.
That's it. And if I, whatever I want to make my priority, if it's kids or work or golf or
reading or that's up to me to decide and build my top priority all the way down.
What I'm going to do this year is put a little more time of me to actually be a human being
than to be a robot of nonstop work.
That's what I'm saying.
Love it.
Five rounds.
Yes.
And Eddie, you'll probably be the beneficiary of all five of the first.
I cannot wait.
A bride wants to dump her sister as the maid of honor because she'll be in a sling.
Oh, that's a bummer.
What do you think about that?
I mean, no.
My sister would stay my maid of honor.
Didn't she come down the aisle on crutches at your wedding?
No, my sister was pregnant.
Oh, maybe that's what it was.
Did no one come down the aisle in crutches at your wedding?
Did they?
If they do, well, no, I think maybe you think of one of my bridesmaids, Juliana,
she got married on crutches.
That's what it is.
Oh, wow.
Yeah, that's right.
But that was at her wedding.
She was in a car accident right before her wedding and broke her foot.
And, yeah, her foot was a mess.
A bride to be recently shared that she wants to not have her sister as the maid of honor because the elbow surgery a week before.
I mean, I guess it is a big old.
She'll be in sling and ruin the pictures.
Oh my God.
Okay, you can, a good photographer can position her to where it won't be a focal point of the photos.
Here's what she writes.
Obviously, I want my sister to be pain free and finally get her surgery.
But like any human being, the selfish side of me, I don't want her to be the maid of honor of wedding.
She'll be wearing a sling and then all the photos.
She'll be. Okay, I'm a horrible moment person that had to do with my wedding. My mom had
skin cancer that needed to be removed from her face. And I didn't understand the timely manner of it,
because I couldn't even see it. Like, I couldn't even see what they were cutting out of her face.
But apparently it was intense. And they had to cut from, like, her eyeball all down her nose and her
face. And, like, she, I was just worried. I too was like, we're going to have all these special
pictures. And she looked like she had been in a car wreck.
And I was like, can you wait?
I said, can you wait?
That was so wrong of me, and I will admit it.
And she told me no.
And then she just wore, like, tons of makeup.
And she looked beautiful and fine.
And you could still, in some of them, you can see the scar, but it really didn't matter.
I can't even believe I ever even said that.
But I think I was just thinking of, that's my mom and it's her face.
It wasn't a broken arm.
But I can't even justify that.
It was wrong.
I am wrong.
I was bad, daughter.
When we had our last show pictures, Morgan number one,
one who doesn't work with the show anymore.
Got a crazy blonde hairstyle right before and then didn't keep it right after.
And so all the pictures she had like this platinum blonde hair that looked nothing like
her.
I was so annoyed for like nine months.
You were.
I was just like,
why would you change your hair and do something different?
And then also not stay with it because now you're in all these pictures and you don't
look like what you look like.
It would be like me growing a mustache out the week before pictures and then shaving
it all the day after.
So we should take new pictures.
We will.
We will.
An American tourist calls for help while stuck in a luggage compartment.
Oh, no.
What?
How?
A 19-year-old American guy recently got stuck in the luggage compartment of a moving bus trip
during a trip through Israel.
He climbed in to get his bag when the bus was stopped.
And then as the bus started going, they shut it, Kuhm locked him in.
That's under the bus.
He called for help.
Police stopped the bus around 20 minutes later.
Here's him talking to an operator.
I'm on the 947 bus.
I just left El Al Junction, and I went.
I went to get my suitcase from under the thing, and the door closed, and he's driving away, and I'm underneath the bus.
I went to get my suitcase under the bus, and I'm stuck under the bus.
Wait, you're stuck under the bus?
10, 10!
Okay, so I'm very scared.
Don't worry, I'm sending police right now.
And they saved him?
Oh, it's her.
No, it's him.
That's a guy?
That's a girl.
He's a kid.
No, it's a guy.
So, guys, give the guy a break.
His voice is a deed.
That is a trick.
That's a guy.
Wait, just play it again.
Actually.
A 19-year-old American guy recently got stuck in a luggage compartment.
Okay.
It says authorities located at the bus within 20 minutes and free the young man.
Don't be rude because the guy doesn't have a deep voice as to what you expect masculine men to sound like.
This is why America is wrong.
We expect men to be so masculine.
Wait, play it again.
I'm on the 947 bus.
I just left El Al Junction and I went to get my suitcase from under the thing and the door closed and he's driving.
I'm looking at a picture.
Sounds like that.
I mean.
Okay.
Now I hear it.
Now I hear it.
Thank you.
Sorry.
I apologize again.
I'm a horrible person.
I told you already.
I'm a horrible person.
Here's Amy's pile of stories.
Fun fact Friday.
All right.
So since it's 2020,
I thought I would throw in this little fun thing.
The year 2050 is the same distance away that the year 1990 is.
I would think for us, that's crazy.
But for someone like Morgan number two who wasn't born in 1990,
2050 probably seems closer than 1990, right?
Yeah, a little bit.
She didn't even exist then, but she will exist in 20.
I mean, God hoping you're existing at 2050.
I hope so.
Yeah.
Kind of crazy.
I guess.
I think so.
1990 does, it feels like a long, I was nine or ten years old.
Sure, but like we lived through it.
Like the fact that we should be if we stay alive, which we should, to 2050, it's kind of nuts.
I was reading a story about how 30 and 40 years ago they did an article on people guessing what 2020 was going to be like.
We should all be flying our cars to work.
Oh, right.
for sure. And I know hovercrafts and, but yeah, not so much. But the internet is something they couldn't predict.
And I was watching David Bowie talk about the internet back in like 1991. And he was going, oh, you don't even know what the internet's going to do.
It's going to connect people in a way so good and so bad. And he was, it was very Jim Morrison-esque from the 60s predicting computers. David Bowie was talking about the internet.
Weird. Wow.
It's wild. Yeah. What else you got?
Okay. Is there something that you've, I don't know, created or a part of that you're so proud of?
Like you would bury yourself with it?
Well, my other dog, Dusty, I had for years and years.
I didn't create him, but I was very proud of it.
Maybe my mirror ball from Dancing with the Stars.
You did get that.
Yes.
I think that's probably it for me.
Okay, so the man who created the Pringle's can
was so proud of his invention that he had some of his ashes buried in one when he died.
That's pretty cool.
I don't think I would put my ashes in a mirror ball.
Yeah.
The Pringles can, though, is pretty revolutionary.
I know it's a joke because it's a potato chip.
But think about that container.
There's nothing else like it.
Two container.
Yeah.
I wish it just open on the bottom, though.
They open on the top and bottom so you can pull them out through the bottom.
Interesting.
Instead of dumping them out, you get all that crap all over your hands.
What else?
Okay, so before the invention of color TV,
75% of people say they dreamed in black and white,
and today, like only 12% of people do.
One of my favorite questions to ask somebody who speaks different languages
is what language do they dream in?
And especially people who then come to, and they...
It's their second language of Englishes, yeah.
And at what point does it shift do you dream in different languages?
Ooh, I'm going to ask my daughter, Stasheera, if she dreams in English or Creel.
Good question.
Crazy, huh?
You should have that confidence.
And if she wants to, record it and bring it to us.
Okay, yeah, I'll see.
Go look at that.
If she wants to.
Anytime I film her, record her, she's like, who's seeing this?
And I'm like, fine, nobody.
Tell her I asked for you to do a quick interview with her.
Hey, maybe if I say, I'll put it on TikTok.
She's down with TikTok.
So get this, Neil Armstrong.
He didn't say that's one small step for man.
He said that's one small step for a man.
But somewhere the A got taken out.
And he just wanted to clarify that's the only way the statement makes sense.
If you say that's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.
I think it makes sense the other way too.
One small step for collective man.
Right.
I agree.
But I'm just saying what Neil says.
And it was his statement.
Maybe there was some static there.
That it'd be right.
And speaking of astronauts, he wanted it to be clear or some astronaut wanted it to clear up
that no real astronaut has ever uttered the words, Houston, we have a problem.
Only Tom Hanks.
Thank you.
From a movie?
Yeah, Paul 13.
Tom Hanks said it.
But it's not a thing that's ever been said by a real astronaut.
I did that in one of my drafts and you guys argued with me.
That was like, that's one of the most original movie lines ever.
Are you sure we argued with you?
Yes, because you said that's a part of history.
I said, nah, Tom Hanks said.
that I did. I would love to have that tape and see how much hyperbole is involved in Eddie's statement here.
Okay. Amy, anything else over there? I just got one quick story about 2020 beauty trends in case you want to be in the know.
Bows. I do. I do want to be in the know. Okay, well, for your hair, Bobby, bows are really big. Headbands were big in 2019 and they are still going to be big this year, but definitely throw a bow in the mix. Bold roots. So you can actually grow out your roots, like skip a few hair appointments and it's going to be totally fine.
feel the pressure to get your roots done.
Glossy lips.
A gemstone eyes, which
means you put like rhinestones
all over your eyes, maybe instead of like
eyeliner. Crystal nails
and space tattoos.
There's going to be a lot of stars
and moons and things like astronomy
type stuff put on your bodies.
Well, all that's a relief because I do all that already.
So I've been doing that for like the last couple years.
I saw the rhinestone here.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Crystal nails.
Apparently, Swavorski.
crystal nails are up
128% on Pinterest.
Everybody's doing it.
I have some of these weird 20-20
predictions from back in the day.
One, human feet will become just one big toe.
That was one of them.
We would have ape chauffeurs. In 1994,
Rand said, hey, we'll be able to develop
apes to think and they'll be able
to drive us. So now we're just going to drive with nothing.
We'll live in flying houses.
These are the crazy ones. Our houses will be cleaned
by hoses. You'll basically just be able to take a hose and go,
into your house. We'll eat candy made of underwear. I don't know what that is. We'll have personal
helicopters. We'll kind of get into that. I saw in L.A., people can Uber a helicopter to get to work
if they want to. There are a bunch of these at bestlifeonline.com. They thought by the year 2020,
back in the 60, we'd have both telepathy and teleportation. Not yet.
Well, that we know of. Oh, right. Yeah, true. The people that do have it probably don't tell us.
All right, Amy, is that it? Yeah, maybe that's my file.
That was Amy's pile of stories.
It's time for the good news.
With lunchbox.
Tell me something good.
Javier Solis is 16 years old.
He's an uncle.
He's walking with his three nieces to the store when they're in the crosswalk and a car runs the stop sign.
And he's like, oh no, I got to save these girls' lives.
And he shoves all three nieces out of the way and boom, he gets hit by the car.
Dang.
So what happened to him?
I guess he's okay.
He's in the hospital with skull fracture.
and some broken bones.
But he is alive and the nieces are alive and they're just saying he's a hero.
I mean, it's early in the year, guys.
But I'm going to recommend him Uncle of the Year.
Oh, wow.
We're already getting that away.
You know, that's a little premature.
I mean, we're only a few days in, but Uncle of the Year, I mean, how do you not,
that's going to win?
There's no other Uncle that's going to do anything better.
Well, we'll put him in the running.
And at the end of 2020, when we go to the Uncle of the Year category,
we'll see if maybe he's the only story.
That's a possibility, too.
All right, that's a good one.
That's what it's all about right there.
That was Tell Me Something Good.
Right now, let's go over to Amy with the Morning Corny.
Morning Corny.
How does a little penguin build its house?
How does a little penguin build its house?
It glues it together.
Okay, igloo.
You know igloo.
There it is.
That was the Morning Corny.
The Friday morning conversation with Ronnie Dunn.
He's back.
Ronnie Dunn from Brooke.
and done here.
My new best friend.
Oh, I just took the mic off.
You know, I feel bad.
I feel like I'm taking up all your time these days.
Like personal time.
Yeah, because you're busy.
Do you ever stop?
Yeah, do you ever stop?
Yeah, too much.
And when I do, I get in trouble.
Anytime I do that, you know how creative types are.
They say, if you're not creating, then you're usually self-destructing.
Or getting tattoos.
Is that I mean?
When's the last tattoo you got?
Ten years ago, the cowboy thing.
And people keep saying, are you going to get another one?
They say it's kind of addictive.
I don't feel like I need another one.
I mean, do you have?
One.
Oh, you have one tattoo, one cowboy tattoo?
But on the other one, would you get Indian?
Cowboys an Indian, and then...
I have a buddy in Santa Fe that owns a jewelry store up on the square.
So when I go out, the first time this guy's...
I got it.
This guy starts walking up to me, and he's a big Indian dude, Native American.
Be politically correct.
and he's got Indian up here.
So we always making fun of one another.
Cowboy Indian?
Taking pictures, yeah.
Ronnie Dunn's here.
And you're here today because finally all the music's out.
This whole record that we were talking about a couple months ago.
It's a bunch of really cool covers.
And we've been playing them on our show a lot as they've been coming out too.
That's cool.
And so all of it's out.
And what I want to play, I want to play a little bit of Brown Eye Girl right here.
Listen to this with me for a second, Ronnie.
This is the song we know is Van Morrison,
but this is you doing Brown Eye Girl.
Here's a little bit of that.
Tell me about this song, why you would cut this song specifically.
What did this song mean to you?
Years ago, we were playing Jacksonville, Florida, of Brooks and Dunn out on a tour.
And there's a great big club across the street where a lot of times, if you have a little bit of time to kill before you need to go to the next show down the highway, we would go like just step in, have a drink or something and maybe crash at the stage.
but we got up on stage
and my wife was with us
and she came over and she goes
Do brown-eyed girl, I never done it before
I said we've got to stand here and whisper the words
to me because I don't have a clue
so we get to the chorus
and the whole place erupts and starts singing it
and I'm going to that's brown-eyed girl really
and yeah it just from that moment on
it realized that it kind of had an impact
popular song
we're going to play it coming up in a minute
did ever get a chance to meet band Morrison
or have you met him? I did. Yeah what's that like
My first trip to L.A. in the 80s, I went to Denny Cordell's house, who was the owner of Shelter Records.
He was working on Tom Petty's first album.
And I went upstairs the first day to end the house up to the kitchen, which is on the third floor in Malibu.
And there's this guy sitting at the end of the table, and he's reading variety magazine or paper.
And I just mean him, and I didn't say anything because I don't know if anybody,
anything. So I got a cup of coffee, and about that time, Denny walked
upstairs, and he goes, Ron, say hello to Van. And the guy goes,
real slowly pulls the paper down. It's Van Morrison. And he kind of grunted something.
You know, like, and then went back to reading.
Yeah. When you do these songs, did you reach out to any of the folks and be like,
hey, I'm going to cover a song, or did you just throw them out there because you loved him so much?
No, I just did it because I love him. I'm a big Paul Carrick fan, you know, with How Long and A,
back in the day.
But, you know, it's straight.
But not before I did them.
No.
I'm going to play a little bit here of Tom Petty.
I won't back down, but Ronnie Dunn doing it on his new record.
Here you go.
And I'll keep this world from dragging me down.
I'll stand.
And here's a little bit of Eric Clapton,
wonderful tonight, as done by Ronnie Dunn.
This is a cool one.
Check this out.
I feel like that could have been a Brooks and Dunn song.
Like wonderful tonight.
You nail it.
I mean, that feels like it's your song.
It's good to hear you say that because with all these,
you kind of, I'm hesitant to take ownership.
It's hard because Clapton owned that song.
And it was very personal.
You know, he wrote about Patty.
And, you know, maybe we could have.
I mean, that to me is a song that I could definitely hear as a Brooks and Dunn song.
Not that the other ones aren't cool,
but I was like, this one's cool.
He really liked The Wonderful Tonight.
That's a really cool one.
That was one of the biggest challenges,
kind of in my head space, was trying to get into it.
This is Eric's song, you know, dance lightly, young man.
You ever met him?
Eric Clapton?
Yeah.
What was that like?
You know, all his band, Derek and the Domino's,
were from Tulsa, and I moved from Tulsa here.
And Jamie Oldecker, the drummer and I used to drive back and forth
from Tulsa and Nashville all the time.
And he didn't know that much about it.
about country music.
So I would play the radio the whole way,
10-hour drive, and I would quiz him.
I go, who's that?
He goes, Ronnie Millsap, you know, who's that?
Oh, it's so-and-so, no, no, it's not Johnny Cash.
It's Merle Haggard.
And he would consequently tell me stories
about Eric Clapton and stuff.
And I get caught up on all the gossip.
So, yeah.
Eric Clapton gossip, let's go.
Let's put it out there.
All of it.
Let's break some news here.
It was good stuff.
But this was back to the 80s when Eric was really having fun,
you know.
They would go in and have to blockade the room.
in the band after the show.
He says, no, we literally go up to the hotels,
put a piece of furniture against the door and stuff.
He said, Eric would jump from balcony to balcony
if he could do it on the 20th floor
and, like, show up and blow through the doors.
Would you guys ever do that back in the day,
just tear up a hotel room or just go?
Like, when was peak troublemaking for you?
It's when it first starts,
and you're young and excited to be out, you know?
And it's just like you're away from home
for extended periods of time.
for the longest time.
You just kind of have too much time on your hands.
What was the big vice that you kind of lent yourself to at first?
Is it a bunch of alcohol?
Was it girls?
What was it early, early?
No, we were just, we just do crazy, I mean, crazy silly stuff.
Bible study, charity work.
Yeah, no, I get it.
You're on the road, just probably doing too much charity work.
It's just ridiculous stuff.
You know, I can't think of anything that wouldn't, you know,
put me in jail for me.
But Keith Richards talks about it, like in his book.
Have you read it?
I read Clapton's book.
I didn't read Keith's.
Keith is really good.
It's really insightful.
But he said, you know, he said they get out there and say, you're away from home.
He said, you're so lonely.
There's nothing to do.
He says, you know, we either, like, turn to drugs or, you know, different, other different vices.
He says, it's just because we're so disconnected from reality.
You know, and you're in this protective bubble with your world.
You really have no contact with it.
outside world other than when you're on stage. Did you ever feel at the height of your popularity
or near it, especially back in the 90s, 2000s, that you felt more alone, the more famous you got?
Felt more disconnected, yeah, and it didn't feel natural. You know, you're going to meet and
greets backstage and stuff and people would prompt people not to, you know, not to talk to you
too long because you had to move through a lot of people.
But a lot of that stuff was just logistics.
You had to do things.
Yeah, yeah.
And how did you remedy that?
Who did you keep somebody around you?
Was it your family that would kind of somewhat keep you normal-ish?
Yeah.
You know, Terry McBride was out with me for a long time.
Remember Terry from McBride in the ride?
And we wrote songs.
That was kind of our therapy.
We get out and go to the gym every day.
I'm going to give you an artist.
one-word association, you tell me what the artist, the word that comes to mind, okay?
George Strait.
George Strait.
That's two words, Ronnie.
George.
Okay.
Eric Clapton.
Guitar.
Tom Petty.
Punk.
Yeah, why do you go down that lane?
I'm glad you said that.
I had some buddies when Denny was doing the first record.
on Tom Paddy.
And Leon Russell was involved
with some of that stuff, but in Tulsa.
And I asked him when, I said,
well, what's Denny doing now?
Because I was trying to keep up
with the Shelter Record bunch bunch.
And he goes, he's got some new punk guy
he's doing, some new punk rocker.
And it was Tom Petty.
Ever since then you say Tom Perry,
I think punk rocker.
The Eagles.
Two words.
Well, you can't say that word either.
We got to beep that word out too, Ray.
country.
How about
Buck Owens?
Telecaster.
Oh yeah?
That's what you picked your bug doing
playing the telecaster, huh?
Uh-huh.
I'll give you one more.
Bob Seeker.
Oh, that's tough.
One word.
One word. It's not easy.
Chinese Smoker.
Okay.
Ronnie Dunn is here.
He's got a new record out today
called Redone.
A bunch of really great songs
that he covered.
You know, you put me
in a wonderfully precarious
position.
And I enjoyed it.
It was a few weeks ago you text me.
You said, hey, what songs you wanted to sing?
Good for me.
And I thought, I get to pick any Brooks and Dunn song that they're going to come up and play
with us.
And the whole world.
And you guys know, you're like my favorite.
Like, my lifetime.
And it comes to favorites and songs, like, you guys were the soundtrack of me growing
up and being rejected by girls, you know, all of those things that happened in
your teen years.
Like, you guys are a big part of that.
And so we settled.
I settled.
we settled on boot scoot and boogie.
Do you know this yet?
I just got the text.
Melo was just reading the text to me.
So it wouldn't have mattered
which songs I picked, you would have just been able to go right into it.
Like, no problem.
Yeah.
Okay, so my favorite boot scoot boogie, neon moon.
Is that the one that maybe gets the biggest response?
Or is that just my heart that gives the biggest response?
No, it does.
There's been a resurgence in that song lately.
Like, I've seen it all over the place.
like Kelly Clarkson's, like, all the judges from the voice came out and opened her show with the other night
and see it pop up all over the place. It's kind of cool. It's really cool.
Casey did it with you guys on the reboot record? Yeah.
My Maria? Yeah. Come on. That's what I'm saying. But it was hard for me to pick. I compared it to someone going,
here's 20 supermodels. You get to make out with any couple of them go. And I'm like, which one do I pick? They're all so perfect.
That's why I turned the tide on you. It said, you pick them.
really wait on me. I thought it's kind of funny because I thought you'd either go,
come on, man, I don't care. I'm too busy to do this. Why would I? I would never do that
at the same time. Stop it. So that's a cool part. I don't, I never take this
thing for granted here. Good, good. And so that's what we're going to do. Now,
you have no problem with those songs that I picked. Not a bit. Do you know every word
to every song? Uh, Melanie has a thing in my ear on stage that. Well, everybody uses
some kind of reference, like, you know, monitor or that, but
Melanie talks in my ear.
What do you mean?
Like during the song?
Yeah, we use, you know, ear buds like you have in yours.
They're just, you know, in ear headphones.
So as you're singing.
She talks.
You talk to him as he's singing?
Mm-hmm.
But like what?
Like, where, how does she know if you're not going to figure out the word?
She says every word and every song?
Every line.
No, it's you'll cue it.
No, we have a whole system set up and you kind of have to learn it.
It's like you'll cue the first word before the beat.
And it just kind of stuck in nature
after doing it for so long.
You don't even think about it.
People go, well, that's really distracting.
It's like, no, it's not.
Oh, wow.
No.
So after the first word, though, you're good.
So you just cue them on the first word.
It's a key thing.
Because I'll wonder off.
Mentally, I'll just kind of go,
especially on the songs you really know.
Things like Bootscoot you've been doing for, you know,
30 years.
You kind of, I'm out there doing my laundry list or something.
If you had to pick one song to eliminate forever,
which one would it be?
Oh.
Like a hit, though.
Don't pick like a B-side.
But like a hit.
And you love them all as children, but if you had to pick one and you're like...
That's cold.
Has anyone ever answered that question?
Yeah.
Really?
But we ask them about, also about Brooks and Dunn songs.
What would it be?
Maybe we should ask Melanie.
Are you going to say boot scooting?
Yeah.
Really?
I was trying to get around it.
But it's, you know what?
You think of, oh, man, boot scoot.
Oh, I'll do it again.
But it's like you walk.
and on the downbeat you hit it and the crowd
the crowd goes they do the same
they react like they did the first day you did it
like I wouldn't have picked
boot scooting if it wasn't for the people
because
if it were just me like
hardworking man
or brand new man
or
some of those songs were like caricatures
you know like boot scoot was a caricature
yeah rock my world
little country like that was
that's caricature
like that was the jam for me
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, come on. Okay, well, that's what we're going to do. We're going to do boot scooting,
My Maria, Neon Moon. We're clear on all those? Everybody's good with all those?
Okay, is that the right order? No, no, no. I had to do the order last night. I'm glad you had.
Because here's what I thought. You come out. Did they give you the order? Do you know the order? Let me say if I get it right.
We have to end on Neon, by the way. For those that don't know,
Ronnie and Kicks, Brooks and Donner playing with us for our St. Jucho at the Rime and the Raging Idiots,
and they're going to come out and play with us, which I'm so grateful to you guys. I had no idea. This is a show for,
the hospital and you guys
are playing with this and we're pumped and I was like all right
what's a great cause? We're going to do
My Maria because I think the intro of that
is such a great kick to the whole set
like what a great
you're the first part of my Maria
oh it's going to be so great
and then in the middle
You're just playing bass
We have a
She'll kill it. We have a session player who plays with this
She's awesome. She's awesome. She just wrote a book on bass
So we have the most proficient band
You probably don't
Her name's Ryan Madora
She's here
Okay
But she plays with a lot of rock guys too
Okay
So that and then we do
Booskin buggy
Because the crowd's hype
And it's like and you hate that song
So it's like the middle one
I do not hate that song
I love that song
I love that song
It paid the rent
And then
We hit it at the end
Yeah
We do with neon moon
Okay
All right
I get it
Okay so I'm gonna show up at rehearsal
Are you?
Yeah
Because we're rehearsing
side.
Oh, she's looking at you like, I can't believe you.
You should show up.
The whole band will be there.
Am I here?
Yeah.
I'm going to do it, but yeah.
You're going to a duck?
I have to go with a bunch of Louisiana guys tomorrow.
And, yeah.
Okay.
And they're all excited.
Come to rehearsal.
I will.
Saturday.
Do you need some tips?
Uh-uh.
Okay.
Yes.
If you're in a, if you're somewhere at a gathering,
where do you go that's fancy?
Because you have fancy places you go.
go to like an island somewhere?
I'm about to take my entire family
down to the Bahamas. Okay.
Now you're on this fancy island and there are people
because I know how you fancy folks do where you like get with other fancy people and you
all sit around and drink fancy alcohol.
Like you're not fancy.
Now I'm not fancy. I'm no fancy.
And do they ever go, hey, play this, play on guitar.
Do they give you a guitar and have you sing ever at these fancy parties?
Well, they'll ask sometimes.
Okay.
Do you ever say yes?
Yes.
Where was I the other day?
So we had a little farm outside town and I had to run to the pharmacy for
for Janine, my wife, and it's New Year's Day.
And Walmart is the only place open, and it's packed.
And the pharmacist goes, she goes, you're going to have to wait 30 minutes.
She goes, you got a guitar?
Maybe you can sing a couple songs for us.
So I sat on the bench, and anyway, she was just being funny.
Ronnie Dunn is here.
He's here, not for his help.
He's here because he has a record out.
Also, because we're friends now.
I thought about texting the other night to see if you want to go to dinner.
And I did not.
I did.
And I was like, you know, I'm going to hit him up.
What was that?
What was I look for?
You would do that?
I would do that.
To you, I felt like we've hung out now enough to where I would be cool.
We should go.
We got to record that one.
Let's go.
Where would we go?
I don't know.
I bet you get out.
No, you don't want.
I bet you don't know.
What time do you eat dinner then?
We find something down the gulch.
Early, usually early, like 5.30.
Me too.
Now we're talking.
Yeah.
I'm not a late, late dinner person.
We should do.
In our photo shoot, the picture we did,
Made like almost $60,000.
How about you? Really?
Good idea you had.
No, we had.
You shot the pictures.
Yeah, but...
And I'll tell you this, Amy, we show up to this thing,
and Ronnie has...
He's a photographer, really good photographer.
And not only did I bring, you know, myself to take pictures,
but he, like, provided all the clothes.
I walk into a van.
And it's just like clothes galore.
And I'm like, well, which ones do we use it?
He's like, well, use whatever you want,
but you can have all the rest of them.
So I basically took all my whole cowboy out wardrobe.
You took one cap. You took the Arkansas cap.
That's not sure I took two Arkansas caps.
Did you really?
And he got two melting T-shirts.
That's where mine went.
But that was fun.
You shut up like a all pro model though.
And I mean like there was no grief.
You showed up right on time, totally pro, did your deal.
And I was telling them backstage a few minutes ago in the green room.
I've never seen anybody show up.
I'm not just sucking up to you.
Seeing anybody show up and like do their deal a more professional way.
It's like.
He's modeling.
Every shot was like, pop, pop, pop, pop, pow.
Here's my thing.
I'm going to show up where I'm supposed to be,
when I'm supposed to be there,
because that's my biggest talent.
It's being where I need to be when I need to be there.
We had that discussion coming over here.
I watched Seinfeld last night
with comedians with cars,
and he was talking to someone,
and it was Mel Brooks.
He said, what's the biggest thing you learned over the years?
He says, to be on time in this business.
Be on time.
He said, that's a luxury.
Be on time and treat people good.
Yes.
Because there are a lot of talented people.
Yeah.
It's unlimited, talented people.
Yeah, standing right behind you.
Once you're through, there are a hundred
to be ready to fill your place.
Ronnie Dunn is here.
One more little segment here.
This is called Did Dunn do it?
We know you as one half of Brooks and Dunn,
but as a person, I'm going to ask you a question
and you tell me if Dun did it.
Did Ronnie Dunn ever make a mixtape
for a girlfriend or a wife back in the day?
No.
No, like recording all.
off the radio, no mixtapes at all.
No.
Did you do any grand romantic gestures ever back in the day?
Any what?
Grand romantic gestures, like, here I am,
boom box to the top of my head,
or show up at the door with a guitar.
Yeah, because Bobby's done that.
I've done that, it didn't work very well.
No, no.
I had to sneak up on girls, you know.
It's just, I was always super shy.
So I just have to, like, you know,
set the stage and then suddenly just go.
Did they ever watch, you ever convince them
about them seeing you sing?
Did you ever invite a girl to a show?
And then she's like, oh, that's it.
Oh, yeah. That'd be awesome.
That's a secret weapon.
I always have this fantasy about it.
Of course, I'm married now, I can't do it.
But, you know, some hot girl or something,
and just whatever, just let's go out and then go out
and then walk up on stage or something and just be, you know, like,
I'm singing the band.
I kind of did that one.
Wait, without her knowing, like she doesn't know,
and then you're like, bam.
Either that or she'd like turn on you just go, I don't like this kind of, I don't like this singing.
I don't like this kind of music.
They gave me crap because I took a girl on a date and then we walked over to the opera and I performed to stand up in the opera.
They gave me so much crap.
I thought so, too.
I didn't.
I took a girl out.
Or not.
You would think.
No, I don't steal many things.
But it took a girl and we had dinner and I was like, hey, I got to walk over and do a set over here.
Like, no big deal.
And so we walked over, going to the back door of the rhyming.
And it's like, hey, I got to do like to stand right here.
I'm going to do my 12 minutes.
And I walked out and did some jokes.
I was like, all right, let's go.
Let's go have a drink.
And they gave me so much crap on this show.
Oh, man, that's fun.
If you can do it, if you can get away with it, that's good.
I think that's a fun thing to do.
Does Ronnie Dunn ever pump his own gas?
Yes.
What is the last thing Ronnie Dunn watched on television?
You may just answer to that.
Fun fell last night.
Did you go to prom?
One, junior year in high school.
And who would you go with?
Do you remember?
Terry was her first name.
I don't remember last name.
It didn't go well, I guess, huh?
Did you steal the deal?
No, it's okay.
Did Ronnie Dun ever go out after a show in Vegas?
Because you're doing the Vegas, and put a big bet at a casino after a show and just be like, I'm going.
Oh, yeah.
Do you go to the baller tables?
I had a bunch of friends.
These guys from Louisiana, I keep talking about it, in the oil business,
and they have more money than anyone needs to have.
And I stumbled out to the craps table.
and they were all around at high-fiving and doing all this stuff.
And all of a sudden, the guy next to me, who I know well,
had this massive tray of chips.
And he just starts shoveling thousands and thousands of dollars in front of me.
And like, he goes, play, just play.
For you to play with his thousands.
Yeah, because, like, I went through my money like that fast.
And that's a, that was a weird feeling.
But I walked away.
That's when I can't do it.
I can't take the pressure.
Well, listen, I love when you come in.
Thanks.
I do consider you a bud at this point.
Good.
All right.
And did you consider me a bud?
Yeah, I don't have many buds.
Yeah.
You don't either.
I feel the same way.
You don't have any butts.
I'm going to go get a bulldog now.
Yeah.
Mine's broken.
I'm trying to fix that sucker back.
What's wrong?
Everything's wrong.
Eyes, penis, belly, everything.
Is he old?
No, he's brand new.
He's nine, ten months old.
And so when I got him, I was told, hey, he's kind of broken a little bit,
so you're going to kind of build him back.
Slowly but surely they're building them.
They get expensive.
These days, the bets are, yeah, they get it down.
You have dogs?
Yeah, my daughter does.
Yeah?
In the back there, three.
Two now.
Oh.
We lost one last week.
Oh, I hate to hear that.
You can have mine.
I haven't long enough to get him fixed.
Send me the bill.
Yeah, they'll take him back.
Listen, Harriet, Ronnie Dunn.
He's got the album redone.
To play us out, let's see, which one would I like to play?
Let us play.
We already played Brown-Ey Girl.
Hmm, let's do
Amarillo by Morning
Yes, that's what I was going to say
Yeah
That Ronnie, you check out the record
There's so many songs on there
Buck Owens
Ace talked about him
Eddie Arnold, George Strait, Tom Petty, Eric Clapton, Merle Haggard
all this
And we're going to play Amarola by Morning
by Ronnie Dunn
Good to see you again
And we'll see you on Monday
Dude, what if I take a...
Can I sing...
Eddie, let me answer this Eddie
They come out and we play
But I take over all the lead vocals
Oh yeah, especially in Ma Maria right?
That's fine.
Can you imagine how
irritated everyone would be?
Marie.
You got it already.
There it is.
Mellie healthy with words.
Don't even look at it.
There is.
Ronnie Dunn, everybody.
Thank you, about it.
It's time for the good news.
With Bobby.
Tell me something good.
After hearing some screams coming from a river,
a police officer named Christopher Pritchard
shined a flashlight into the Oswego River
and yelled to the other officers,
there's someone in the water.
Like, all I did was hear screams.
So there, in the middle of the night,
and by the way, it's cold,
was a young woman fighting to stay alive.
Officers threw a floating ring to the woman,
yelled for her to grab it, but she didn't respond.
So the officer, at night, in the cold,
said, I got to go in.
Took off his belt, which is, by the way,
if he jumps in with that belt, may sink him.
Takes off his boots,
his bulletproof vest,
and then he climbed over the railing.
and jumped in the dark, the cold, and grabbed the woman.
Wow.
Is that crazy?
Yeah.
Her whole body was starting to go under when he jumped in, she said.
So he grabbed her.
She was 20 years old and pulled her back to the surface, raised her hands above her head.
And that was it.
There was no dock.
But the officers flipped a grate down to the river and then climbed on it and pulled her out.
The river was 42 degrees.
Oh, my goodness.
Crazy.
And he never really saw her until he got close down there.
So let me shout out to him.
And I want to say his name right here.
officer Daniel
Ballone
so let us shout out to you
that's what it's all about right there
that's Tell Me Something Good
That was Tell Me Something Good
There's a new TV series
called Murder House Flip
Oh
Comes in April
Wow somebody got murdered and they flipped the house
Oh yeah
No wait
It's a home makeover show
Golly
that takes on homes where murders happen
It will be available
on the new streaming platform
Quibi, which will launch in April,
will be around five bucks a month,
but it's homes where people have been murdered.
Now, first of all, would you watch the show?
Yes or no?
Yeah.
Okay, maybe.
Now, would you buy a house
that someone had been murdered in?
Does it depend on the deal?
Depends on the deal,
and if it's like my perfect house,
if it's everything I've ever been looking for
because, I mean, I'm not scared, but...
Does it also depend how many murders happened?
Who was murdered?
Like, what are the factors that matter?
Public is the murder, because I don't need some crazy, here's what I thought.
It's like somebody who wants to come and reenact it to me.
Oh, interesting.
Oh, I never thought about it being reenacted.
I didn't either.
Or if it gets popular again.
Like I started watching The Truth, something the Truth on Apple TV.
And that's basically what it's about.
A murder happened in a house.
A guy got murdered.
And the case came back 20 years later because of a podcast, you know, the crime
podcast.
brought it back up.
And then the house that the guy got murdered in,
new people lived there,
but people were like picketing out front
and like showing up
because the resurgence of it.
Let me find the name.
If there was a house that you really liked,
not perfect, but really liked,
and it was 20% cheaper.
Ooh, wow, that's a lot.
A random murder in it.
Would you do it?
Rando.
Yeah, Rando murder.
Somebody die, like a...
You're not connected to it?
Yeah.
I think I could do it.
My friend bought one murder suicide.
He didn't tell his wife because he thought she might freak out.
Imagine you found it afterward and your husband bought a house and knew and didn't tell you.
Oh, divorce.
He didn't want to not, he wasn't trying to lie.
He just withheld the information because a murder suicide was a lot.
But it was a nice house and a good deal.
So, oh, the show on Apple Plus, it's called Truth Be Told.
And I just started it and it's pretty good.
I don't feel like there's such things as haunting and...
Right.
I don't.
But I don't feel like there's a go.
I don't feel...
I don't care about vibe.
Like, this is me.
I don't care about vibes.
I create my own vibes.
Right.
Nobody affects my vibes.
I create my own vibes.
But are you going to ever think about...
Yeah.
When you're in that room.
Right where you're sitting.
Are you going to get scared at night?
Do you know how many times the crazy things have happened everywhere we are all the time?
Over the history of time?
Maybe.
They're probably good.
They're probably wonderful and bad vibes every single place you are through the history of Earth.
There could probably been a murder in my house in 19,
Like I went to the JFK spot where he got assassinated and just standing there was eerie.
Because you made it eerie.
It felt eerie.
Right, because you felt it eerie.
Had you not known that was happening there, you wouldn't have felt that way.
Right, but here in this case, you know that a murder happened in your living room.
I have no problem with it.
Oh, you're crazy.
I have no problem with it.
I don't believe in haunted hotels.
I don't believe in any of that.
And I think that people that do see ghosts are like half asleep or they're on something.
Or they want to see something and they've been.
told.
Yeah.
What?
Well, one time your grandmother
knocked over.
But I even said that.
I was like, I don't even know.
It could have been anything.
But you kind of believe it.
They don't think.
I don't believe in ghosts.
Okay.
I don't believe in ghosts.
I'm not saying
they don't exist.
I'm saying I don't believe.
And there is a difference.
I would never tell someone
that something doesn't exist.
I can't prove it either way.
I don't believe it.
I would never tell someone
they don't exist.
I don't know they don't exist.
but I don't believe they do
so yeah I would never tell someone
that something I can or can't prove
is absolutely one way or the other
but it's not for me
I'm not gonna be affected by that
the worst is when people are like
it does there's no such thing
well how do you know or someone that's like
I'm for sure of it well how do you know
you can't prove it
someone gets one of those little radar
there's ghost hunters
speaking to which the Ghostbusters show on
the movies of how they made it on Netflix
what's a series called
the movies that made us
the Ghostbusters version
version's really good. It's a good one. And my son just told me they're working on a new one.
A new ghost busters? Yeah. But they already had an all-girl one. There's a new or newer one they're working on.
Oh, over Christmas break, we showed our kids goonies. They had never seen it before. Is that good for kids?
Well, yeah. We showed it to them and they, I was hesitant. I don't know how they would feel about it, but they loved it. Like, thought it was so good. So maybe that's a throwback for some parents. You could have like a good. My husband and I, it was like nostalgic for us. But my daughter,
popped up right the end. She goes, I hope they do
a remake of that, like a more modern version.
It was good. They haven't remade
Goonies. Oh, they do? No, no, they haven't.
The new Ghostbusters would be called Ghostbusters
Afterlife. It looks like Paul Rudd's in it.
Oh, that's cool. So, if he's in it, it'd be good.
Of course. Yeah.
You know Dan Aykroyd was in the original.
His parents were like ghost hunters.
Oh, really? That's how he knew so much about it.
Did you learn that from that show?
Yeah.
Bobby Bones show. All right, here we go.
Top Songs in Music this week.
We'll do Country Chart First.
At number three, 10,000 hours from Dan and Shea and Justin Bieber.
At number two, Lady Annabellum, what if I never get over you?
And the number one song, country music, is that song that you like,
riding roads from Dustin Lynch.
Oh, so good.
I like it.
I like it fine, but you love it.
I love it, yeah.
I just want to go ride some roads with it.
The biggest top 40 song right now is Post Malone Circles.
And the biggest alternative song, and I love this,
record is Cole play orphans.
Those are your biggest songs and music.
All right, let's talk about the weekend.
Amy, what's going on with you?
Oh, man.
Just going to enjoy the weekend with the kids and my dad.
I feel like it's going to be like a chill weekend for us.
I don't know really.
We might go roller skating because Stevenson's begging to do that.
And then my kids start school on Monday, so prepping them for the real life because
they've been on about a three week break.
What about you?
I have a friend who we're having a party because she adopted a baby.
Oh.
And we're having a big party for that.
that today. So fun. Okay. And then I have, I'm doing a podcast with Nashville Lifestyles magazine
today. I'm not sure when it goes up. I'll let everybody know on my socials, but I don't, you know what they
want to talk about. But I will do that. Shea from Dan and Shea is coming to my house for a
Bobbycast. I'm not sure if that'll go up today or Monday, but it'll go up in the next couple days.
So subscribe to the latest Bobbycast. I have rehearsal for the Raging Idiots Million Dollar
show. We have that tomorrow. Eddie and I and then our band and then a lot of the artists come by and
practice too because it's a big show. It's going to be a special
as well. We're going to air it nationally. It won't be
when we, but that's going to happen. I got a
pretty packed weekend. My friend of my mom is coming to stay with me this weekend.
Oh, fun. He gets in tonight.
Oh, cool.
Yeah, our big, big boss
from California is coming to town. I've dinner with him
Friday. Yeah,
that's it. I mean, it's a good weekend.
Nice. Full of stuff, but full of stuff I like
to do. Yeah.
You like being busy, but hopefully you also
relax this weekend. I like being busy at things
I like to be busy at.
your, it's the weekend.
I'm telling you, 2020 is the year where I don't.
Hustle is hard.
I just work a lot smarter at the bigger things I want to do.
I'll always be a hustler.
You can't take that out of me.
You can take the hustle out of the guy.
But at this point, like this is my year.
It's all popping this year.
All of it.
You're manifesting that, or you feel it or you just know it.
I don't manifest crap.
I'm not saying, I don't really think that you manifest.
I don't get a vision board.
But you do things like you put it as your screensaver,
because you know if you see it every day
and you set goals and you're intentional about it.
So what I mean is are you putting it out there constantly
so you know it or you feel it or you just know it?
I know it.
I was working on 2020 back in 2018.
Oh, okay.
So you just, you know it.
No, it's time.
Everything's time for everything.
The birth is happening all this year.
Well, that's exciting.
Many births are happening this year.
I can't wait.
These projects have been pregnant inside of me for two years.
I've been working on them.
And here they come screaming out.
And you know what?
We're not using any to numb my vagina either.
Really?
Yeah.
It's just going to come out.
It's coming out.
All right.
Like an epidural?
No epidural.
Whoa, natural.
Yeah, except it's going to come on my butt.
I'll have a vagina.
Right, correct.
All this stuff's going to come out.
I was wondering how that was going to work.
Or we'll do a C section.
Or we'll call it a B section.
Oh my gosh.
You thought about this.
I'm just freaking out right now.
No, I don't think he has.
This is just.
This is my year, though.
Coming out.
Okay.
Okay.
Thank you very much.
Have a great weekend.
We'll catch you back here Monday.
Bye everyone.
