Starting point is 00:02:32 Scuba? Yo! You ready to answer some listener questions? Maybe. I'm just kidding. I don't shy from crap. Let's go. All right. Well, we're going to start with shoutouts first. Okay. As a park lover, you guys have to come up and try Canada's Wonderland. That's from Sean from P-E-I. Okay.
Starting point is 00:02:47 It's a theme park, I'm assuming, right? I'm assuming too. I've never even been to Canada, so I would love to go to Canada. Norah, I've always wanted to go to Toronto and Vancouver and all that stuff, Winnipeg. Bamf is my number one in Canada. Banff? Banff. No.
Starting point is 00:03:00 Look it up. Okay. You'll be like, yeah, I want to go there now too. Banff, okay, cool. It's beautiful alpine lakes and in the mountains. How do you spell it? B-A-M-F-F-F. B-A-N-F.
Starting point is 00:03:10 B-F. B-A-N-F-F? Yeah. And I also want to go to Vancouver. Okay. Yeah. It's beautiful. Beautiful place.
Starting point is 00:03:18 Okay, cool. I'll have to check it out. Love that scuba is real. That's from Allie. Allie, what up? Well, this is beautiful. Wow. Right?
Starting point is 00:03:26 I told you. Wow, so cool. I'm going to go there and Glacier National Park because they're kind of by each other. Yeah, yeah. Okay, cool. Hell yeah. Connected there. Michelle from Apple Valley, California.
Starting point is 00:03:34 Hey, what up, Apple Valley. Take a bite out of crime. Some of my favorites. I've been missing you guys. And then Scuba. My favorite. favorite from Monica. Shout out.
Starting point is 00:03:44 Monica, what up? You'll shout it out. Who is Scuba Steve closest to on the show? Shout it out. Come on. Let's go. That's a delayed reaction.
Starting point is 00:03:53 Like, really delayed. Chat it for the rooftops. My brain went elsewhere. Who's my favorite on the show? Who is Skuba Steve closest to on the show? That's from Chris and Missouri. Chris and Missouri, the closest in the show. I think I have an answer.
Starting point is 00:04:05 You don't. I would say, mostly because when I first came on the show, it was almost like my little pet project. For lack of better terms And then through that I just really developed a great relationship With him would probably be lunchbox That was my thing too
Starting point is 00:04:19 Also you guys have similar lifestyles You're both dads of three kids You got a lot going on Yeah yeah And then I would say another person will be Ray Because Ray's right next to me So him and are always talking crap to each other And whatever so yeah
Starting point is 00:04:30 Just a bunch of dudes being dudes Pretty much yeah yeah But I like everyone And I have great relationship with everybody on the show But I would say probably That would probably my top two Would be lunch and Ray Yeah
Starting point is 00:04:40 Morgan probably number three You know how I Even though you're Morgan number two I got the penny number three there You know how I know that too Is because it was Steve in lunch Every time they're together, man I want to die
Starting point is 00:04:52 We like punking you like your little kid sister Yeah you two together is like a Dynamic duo is too nice Honestly The way that you guys come after me When you're together is It's a lot of fun For you guys maybe
Starting point is 00:05:08 It's so much fun Like them two together You think one of them is a little crazy and then have both of them coming at you with the same inside joke that they think is hilarious. It's a wild ride. And watching you because you get so uncomfortable over the things that don't bother us, it makes it even better. And then when we find out it makes you uncomfortable, then we just don't stop. I've come a long way, though. I'm not going to lie.
Starting point is 00:05:31 You have come a long way. In the beginning, it was almost like we were like you were going to die. You're going to curl up over in a corner and die of anxiety. Yeah, because I hate uncomfortable situations. And I love uncomfortable situations. And now I just like I've got, I'm like, there's nothing I can do about it. And I've realized if I react to you guys do more. So it goes inward than outward a lot more now.
Starting point is 00:05:52 That's where the growth has happened. I'm really glad I could always be the butt of your guys' strokes. That's how I know, Chris. Why is he called Scoobo Steve? That's from AC. AC Green. You look like AC Green. Don't call here anymore.
Starting point is 00:06:10 Is that a rocker? It's an old school, like, hip-hop rap song. You look like A.C. Green. I know, Cilo Green. Girl, don't call here. Well, like, it's the B word. Don't call here anymore. Now I've got to figure what's on that is
Starting point is 00:06:23 before I answers A.C.'s question, because it's such an iconic rap song that gets stuck in your head. You look like... I would love to look it up for you, but I don't know... Any idea of what you're seeing. You look like A.C. Green.
Starting point is 00:06:35 Dun-d-d-d-da. Oh, it's from Dr. Ray of the Chronic. Big egos That's a deep gut from somewhere You ever heard the chronic album? Nope Stupid you know what's annoying about YouTube There was a day when you didn't have any
Starting point is 00:06:48 I thought you was annoying about you And I was like well damn stupid This one where it's like Oh yeah I don't know that Oh my gosh such a great song We can't play it for much longer We're gonna cut off I know I just heard it off I know
Starting point is 00:07:00 I'm sure there's people out there like Oh this is the chronic Chronic 2000 there's that song Yeah No I listen I grew up I was fine country music and that was really about it. So that's why it's hard for me to pull back any other knowledge. Okay.
Starting point is 00:07:14 Anything I learned in my music knowledge came from when I was an adult solo. So if you're teaching me about it now, I did not learn about it growing up. Well, I recommend you should 100% get on your phone one day on a road trip or something. I'm sure your fiance has been all about it or heard it or is aware of it. The chronic, the original, little hardcore, it may not be suitable for you. But the chronic 2000, the newer one, but it's not really new anymore, had M&S. N. M. Snoop Dog, Dre, and all them on there. Oh, he for sure loved it. Listen.
Starting point is 00:07:42 Oh, my gosh. That guy loves hip hop rap. Oh, then he's for sure. If you go to him tonight and you're like, hey, babe, I never heard, listen to The Chronic. He's like, what? And I haven't listened to the Chronic 2000. He's like, what? So you should definitely spend, because one of those albums when you press play, all the interludes, like the little skits in between, they all blend and fade together so beautifully. And it's such a great, texturally, the album is such a great, phenomenal Pop cultural moment.
Starting point is 00:08:10 Okay, so the chronic. The chronic, a little hardcore. Or the chronic 2000? The chronic 2000, I think, would be a little bit more your vibe. Chronic 2000. Okay. I bet he has, but. I'm sure he has.
Starting point is 00:08:21 Now that I've initiated that, I have a feeling I'm going to be educated on another drive. Yes, yeah. Well, on your next drive, you should listen. And if you have only an option between one of the two, I think for your vibe, the newer one, the chronic 2000 would be for you. Listen, I love him and him. He's in the newer one. The original one is like dirty, hardcore gangster rap. Where it's like just Dre and Snoop and a few others that are popping in.
Starting point is 00:08:46 And I like a lot of those. I listen to individually their music. A little hardcore for you. Okay. But chronic 2000. All or more back next best bits. Okay, cool. So the answer to A.C.'s question, you look like A.C. green.
Starting point is 00:08:57 And then once that song comes on, you're like, oh, my gosh, AC. And A. And A.C. Green is an NBA player, which we learned that you don't know anything about NBA players or basketball. What team did he play for? The Los Angeles Lakers. Got it. Yes. I'm learning.
Starting point is 00:09:09 Which also ties into the chronic and Dre because they're from L.A. Okay. So the answer to the question for AC, Scoobo Steve, very simple answer. When I started in radio, I was an intern and the movie Big Daddy was a popular film at that time. Adam Sandler movie and there's a Scoobo Steve character in there. My name is Stephen. My first day. Scuba Steve.
Starting point is 00:09:29 Scoobo Steve, damn you. On my first day. He texted me back. He did? Dr. Dre. Exclamation point. isolation. Yes.
Starting point is 00:09:37 Yeah. Okay. Cool. So I think that's a yes. Yeah. I think he's heard of it. And now I've started, like I said, it's good. Yep.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Tell them Chronic 2000 just for you. Okay. And if you partake, partake and then listen. Take it to another level. Now I'm following. Yes. But then he responds still DRE. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:53 Okay. Nowadays, everybody want to talk about. They got something to save. Nothing comes out. The mood list. Butch gibberish. Zap. They've got about Dre.
Starting point is 00:09:59 There's a lot of cursings from like kind of like, you never heard of that song? Nowadays, everybody want to talk. It's M&M. wrapping. It's like his first like introduction into the world. Well, maybe. Maybe if I play it again, I'll remember it. I'll report back, but now I know that he for sure
Starting point is 00:10:13 is going to drop the knowledge on me. We're going to take a break. Come back. I have more questions. Pride is like love. You feel it in your heart. IAR Radio. Canada's number one streaming app for radio and podcasts including IHart Pride Canada, your favorite hits and

Starting point is 00:10:52 I didn't think I was going to live. I was terrified. There was no anything inside those eyes. They turned black. It scared the hell out of me. That was your first murder case? Yes, sir. Fair to say this was the biggest case of your career?
Starting point is 00:11:12 Yes, sir. Rape a murder for a child. It's as bad as it gets. I would think so. Evil, wake up. I'm the one that saw the murder take place by Crevette and DePippo. Anthony DePippo showed no signs of remorse, appearing unfazed after being sentenced to the maximum.
Starting point is 00:11:30 I said I'm not guilty. I'll take it to the grave. Listen to the devil's quarry on the I heart radio app. Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. And to hear The Devil's Quarry ad free with exclusive content, subscribe to Love for Good Plus on Apple Podcasts. Hey, I'm Hoda Kotby, host of the podcast, Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby. Together, we're going to have meaningful conversations with the world's most fascinating people,
Starting point is 00:12:09 like when actress Olivia Munn shared how she overcame fierce health challenges. I've gone through breast cancer and then helped my mother through breast cancer, and that was more difficult. There's a lot of people who understand postpartner depression. I was not prepared for postpartum anxiety. Listen to Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Because their new star is Javier T. Torito Hernandez. Everyone sees me as a football player, but before anything else, I'm human.
Starting point is 00:12:44 Every single day, I'm still learning how to live with problems, mistakes, relationships, emotions. since I was born. And I still have so many questions. Where do we come from? What happens after death? How do you deal with cancellation? Cristiano or Messi? Do aliens exist? What is love? Real Madrid or Barza? From every day and ordinary to the deep and extraordinary. This isn't a normal podcast. Everything here is spontaneous, real and genuine. This podcast is like a deep talk with your closest friends, where vulnerability comes out. Conspiracy theories end up on the table and goals and lessons are shared. All in this life has an order
Starting point is 00:13:17 perfect and all is just I'm going to put me going to be able to connect. We are here to connect
Starting point is 00:13:22 and Chicharito and Javier Chicharro-R-Nandez and together with I-Hard Radio we're going to make the ordinary extraordinary
Starting point is 00:13:28 stay close. It is a carac. Wow. Listen to learning to be human on I-Hard Radio Apple Podcasts or wherever
Starting point is 00:13:36 you get your podcast. Continue Scoop a Steve story. And then so interned day one I walked in I was in Orlando a station
Starting point is 00:13:45 called Excel 1067. It was John Johnny and Jay was the show, was like an iconic Orlando radio show. And I walk in first day and they like, yeah, I walk in. They're all in the office. And they turn around, look at me and they're like, scuba Steve, damn you. And I was like, oh, that's a cool movie. Like, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:13:59 That's your name. And I was like, what? And they go, we give all our interns a nickname. And that's your nickname. And then I was like, whatever. And then it was one of those nicknames where I realized, oh, I can't escape this nickname. And the host, Johnny loved it. Every time I would see him, he's like, scuba.
Starting point is 00:14:12 Scuba Steve. And he just loved saying it. And for me, it was cool because then I have this guy that I looked up to growing up, who now knows my name and gave me a name. And, like, he can't get it. And I see him now. The first thing he says, he's like, Scoobo! And I'm like, oh, that's so cool.
Starting point is 00:14:27 He still knows me. That's cool. And so for me, it was pretty legit to, like, get nicknamed by somebody you looked up to. Johnny Magic was his name. And then I carried it from every market. When I was in San Francisco, though, they hated on it. And they were like, you got to change it. And so I went by just Stephen for a while, or producer Steve.
Starting point is 00:14:45 which is such a boring ass name. Compared to Scoob of Steve for sure. Yeah, it was so dumb. And then I went to L.A. And then I was working with Ryan Seacrest. And he was like, and he heard of my name. And he was like, oh, I love that name. You got to keep it.
Starting point is 00:14:56 And I was like, really? I was like, I was thinking about changing. He was like, no. He goes, branding my brother. He goes, keep Scoop Steve. He goes, that is amazing. He goes, I love it. And then he knew me and remember me because my name was, I guess, easy to remember.
Starting point is 00:15:08 And so I was different. It's different. It's unique. Of Sechrest stamped it. And then a guy I looked up to stamped it. I got to keep it. Yep. So now you are forever scoop of Steve and now you do the Scoop of Steve show.
Starting point is 00:15:18 Exactly. Yeah. Yeah, really can't go back now. Yeah, really can't do about it now. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:21 Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. What is the one thing about the show that people probably think happens naturally, but it takes way more work than anyone realizes. That's from Dusty. I would say usually when it comes to booking a guest, depending on the guest, if it's like a, if it's like a layup or it's like, hey, we're going for number one or some bull crap like that.
Starting point is 00:15:41 It's super uses, all right, here's the day. Here's the time. Send me the stuff and we'll... Backtrack, backshark. And then we'll get it done. But if it's like a desirable guest or somebody that is not from Nashville or traveling in, there's a lot of back and forth and a lot of logistics and getting it put together and a lot of that kind of stuff.
Starting point is 00:16:02 One of the big gets, as we call them. Yeah, the big gets. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They're more uncommon. They don't happen a lot. Yeah. Something like that. Or like a big actor.
Starting point is 00:16:11 Yeah. Anything along those lines. That takes a lot of work, usually work of getting them to come on or then even in that process of getting them to come on. Then it's like, okay, when fishing got them, now I got to reel them in and reel them in. They have a lot of questions because it's just a lot of unfamiliar territory where it's like a country artist. They've been here or their team has already been here. So they're already knowing. They know what the process is like and what needs to be done.
Starting point is 00:16:30 So it's a little bit more streamlined. Yeah, that's a good answer. What is your dream ride you'd love to go on, Max and Boston? Anywhere in the world, dream ride, the bucket list ride. What is it? Dream ride. Like a theme park ride? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:44 Dream ride. Let me think. Dream ride. I've done a lot of the ones I like. Is there like international ones that you've dreamt of going on and you hope to be there one day? Yeah. Well, yeah, there is actually one. It was an entire theme park.
Starting point is 00:16:58 I mean, it'd be cool to go to all the Disney theme parks across the world. But have you ever seen in Dubai the Warner Brothers theme park? I've heard about it. Yes. I've seen it on socials, but I don't know. It's AI or real anymore. No, it's cool because it's Dubai. and the weather is terrible.
Starting point is 00:17:11 It's always super hot. So it's all indoors. There's a completely fully indoor theme park. And it's a Warner Brothers theme park. And it just seems. Which Warner Brothers is very creative. So cool. We follow each other on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:17:24 And I'm like, I just can't wait for the day where I get to go to Dubai and go to that theme park. It seems they have a Batman ride. Like, it's all these cool fun. That would be so fun. It's just so cool.
Starting point is 00:17:34 It looks so cool. I didn't know that they had a Batman ride. I know I want to go to a Batman ride. Yeah. There's that one. And then I want to go to the Nickelodeon universe at the Mall of America. which is more obtainable because it's just a straight shot north.
Starting point is 00:17:43 You could totally just do that on a weekend. I know, but it's just like trying to find a weekend to do that. I know. Yeah. But that's definitely a weekend trip. Dubai, you need like a whole week at least for the travel alone. It's a lot. Yeah, and it's expensive and a whole thing.
Starting point is 00:17:55 But then the universal one would be cool because then you get the Mall of America. I've always wanted to go there and see that. Yeah. So yeah, I'd love to be able to do the Mall of America first, more obtainable, and then Warner Brothers in Dubai. That's fun. Those are good ones. Have you ever seen the, it's not within the park. Japan. But there's straight up
Starting point is 00:18:12 Mario Kart on the streets in Japan. Like not a theme park thing? Like a real thing? Yeah. Like you're in actual parts. Go cards? Okay. And I would have to find the video again, but this is my dream to do. And I would love to go on this one sometime in my whole life. Yeah. And if I could make that one happen, that would be the whole dream. That's pretty cool. They have like bananas in the back end. Like they drop off. No, but some of them have balloons. Like I think the balloon part happens. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. You seen that one? Yeah. We
Starting point is 00:18:40 I do have to get out of here, so I'm going to leave us on one thing. Nick in Colorado wants to know if you will ever shave the beard. I thought about it many different times. Most recently there was an instance that happened and I was like, get this thing off me. I was there. I know the moment. We'll not speak of it ever again. I usually talk about everything.
Starting point is 00:18:58 That's one I won't talk about because it was interesting and weird. Yeah. But I almost went up to the room and shaved it. Get rid of it. Don't want it on my body anymore. I don't know. But I've even thought about it many different times of like getting rid of it just because you know I kind of like my wife sounds like I miss your face or my kids have my kids have
Starting point is 00:19:14 never seen my face then then it also like are my kids going to be traumatized because my dad always had a mustache and remember the times he would shave it we would cry we were so sad because he looked so different and he wasn't the dad that we knew and so we were traumatized by him shaving his mustache but then when he left we were traumatized even more but so just all kinds of traumatized so maybe one day maybe one day yeah and if I would do it it wouldn't have to be that I would let the kids either they would shave it or they'd have to be there when I'm shaving it because they need to be able to be a part of that process because they have never seen my face before.
Starting point is 00:19:47 Yeah. None of them ever. That's fair. That's fair. I was traumatized when my dad shaved his mustache. I get it. So yes, definitely make them part of the process. Is your dad bald when you were a kid or is he already have hair?
Starting point is 00:19:57 Yeah. No. He only had an afro when he was before us. Oh, so you've only known your dad. Bald. So it wasn't like your dad shaved his head. You're like, whoa, dad. No, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:05 But the mustache man, for a couple of days around I was like, naked more rot, dad. This is a weird vibe for me. It's weird. It's the same guy. And when they look at you, you're like, who are you? Why are you? Yeah. They gave me a little. Stop it.
Starting point is 00:20:18 A lot of weird energy. It's hell, dude. Okay, we had to get out of here. Scova. Thanks for being on. Thanks for having me. I appreciate it as always. Go follow Scoba at Scoba Steve Radio.
Starting point is 00:20:26 Go follow the show at Bobby Bone Show. Bye friends. That's the best bits of the week with Morgan. Thanks for listening. Be sure to check out the other two parts this weekend. Go follow the show on all social platforms. That's Bobby Bone's show. and follow at Webgirl Morgan.
Starting point is 00:20:41 To submit your listener questions for next week's episode. There was no anything inside those eyes. They turned black. It scared the hell out of me. Evil, wake up.
