Lisa?
Tell them about our new show.
We have a new podcast.
It's called Don't Lie to Me.
I'm Lexi Youanu.
We're two best friends, 22 years apart, but so close at heart.
And I'm Lisa Di Giulio, the old one, which means we have wildly different references, occasionally different opinions.
And at this point in my 50s, I'm.
lived at all.
Now in my 30s, being the founder of new shoes, good taste is my business.
Listen on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
All right.
I already started it and I got to text Mike D.
So I need you to filibuster.
Yeah, I just want to apologize in advance that my voice sounds kind of, it's going to come and go.
I got this sinus thing going on.
I sound like crap.
But I'm here.
I'm battling through.
and I even thought about doing like a separate pod without Ray at the end about breaking down this season a big brother so it may have to wait till Monday.
Oh yeah, that should be a good breakdown. I don't watch it.
You said you don't watch it anymore.
Right. What's my breakdown? I don't even know, see it.
Do you really still watch it?
No.
Because if you do, we could do it together.
I don't watch the show.
Thank you.
I thought you were being sarcastic.
I couldn't really tell.
And also, I can't even tell your voice, though.
It sounds fine.
Really?
Oh.
Dude, you sound like somebody that rolls out of a ditch that's homeless that just walks into Walmart and goes into the $1 section.
Well, dude, I went to the Minute Clinic.
I'm on the Flonase.
I'm on an antibiotic.
I got some sinus infection.
It is just brutal.
Well, you know what you're missing?
What?
Your stupid thing you always do.
Ray, I got a steroid shot.
Yeah, that's usually when I'm losing my voice.
This is more just congestion.
I don't know.
I've been hitting that flow nays trying to get it out of there, but so far it's not working, man.
Had the humidifier going on last night.
It's not working.
The flonase, you're doing that up the nose or?
No, up the butt.
Oh.
Yeah.
That's how you do it.
You just go to the butt and it gets in there quicker.
Yes, it's up my nose.
It's not in your ears.
Not anywhere else.
It's just not good.
Like, I don't know how to get rid of it.
and it's just so weird.
You think cold weather, it'd be snapping it, man.
Yeah, I think that's what's, you know, getting the, the change of season dust something up,
dust or pollen or something.
And it gets inside me and it just says, we're going to screw with you for a little bit.
Well, I'm going golfing today, though.
So that's good news.
Wait, who you going golfing with, man?
There's a direct show rolling through town.
No, I'm not golfing.
Have you looked at a map?
You're right. About 2 o'clock it's supposed to roll in. I thought about trying to battle.
But I mean, sounding like this and not feeling the best with the allergy infection, sinus infection, the sinus pressure.
I was like, man, I should probably just go home and take a nap.
Because I got to get ready for Morgan's wedding.
Yeah. And I'm sure we'll touch on that a little bit.
And I also just wasn't a good man look. Usually guys should check the weather.
So I tell father-in-law Phil, hey, man, let's go. Let's go golf. And he hits me back.
supposed to rain for like three straight days.
And I look at my map 80%, 90%, 80%.
Oh, my bad, Phil, haven't turned on the weather channel, had no idea a hurricane in the sky
was coming.
I've been on top of it, been looking because I've been looking.
That's why earlier in the week, I was like, I got to get golf in before the Friday
because it is going to rain cats and dogs.
We've played two soccer games and I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be rained out.
which means we're going to have three make-up games.
It's just been a season that started at the beginning of September,
maybe even August, and we've had two games.
Yeah, that's not good.
It sounds like the MLS.
I never know when they're playing.
That's funny.
That is funny.
Or Premier League where they randomly take four months off for the World Cup.
Makes no sense.
Well, they take off the summer anyway,
so Premier League wouldn't have been playing anyway.
Oh.
but I knew the rain was coming.
I just didn't pinpoint it because we haven't gotten rain a month.
So I kind of stopped looking at the map.
Dude, have you seen the grass?
Maybe that's why I sound like this is because the grass is so dead
and the dust and the dirt gets up in my nose and that's why I sound amazing.
I kept the roses alive all summer, but the grass is torched.
My grass is bad.
The bushes are bad.
My one dude goes, I watered my grass all summer and it's still burnt.
Richard, I think said that.
from Freeland Chevrolet.
I believe he said I watered all summer and there's still parts of it that are brown.
Wow.
So I mean, I never watered once this season because we got so much rain in the beginning.
I was like, man, I'm never going to have to water.
And then one week turned into no rain, two weeks.
I was like, oh, it's going to rain.
I don't need to water three weeks, four weeks.
And now it's all dead.
But do you have the setup where you could water your yard?
I have a hose attached to the house that you could.
screw a sprinkler on, drag it out of the yard, turn it on, and the water would go.
I almost need one of those that the crop people have because there's no way I can water two acres.
Oh, you can get one of those tall ones that goes to, I'll have to ask the farmers and ranchers,
see exactly what they use maybe for next summer.
Well, they use one of those.
They use those big poles with wheels that have the pipe and it just drips down and it just rolls
really slow and it's like, have you seen those?
Yeah, I live in the country. Cool, bring it to my property. Do a swing through. Do you guys make a miniature version of that? Because I only got two acres. Two acres, man. We do that with a watering pot. You're okay there, buckaroo. And you know what the jackasses do? They come through our property because it's on, a part of it is on the side of the road. So when the state or city or somebody mows the road, they'll just go through people's property with some tractor. Oh, I've seen that. You know when they get down in the ditch? It's pretty cool when they get down in the ditch.
I'm like, I don't want that job.
I'm worried it's going to tip.
I don't want that job.
And also, yeah, don't mess up all my rocks.
Like all my irrigation goes through there.
So, yeah, just like leave it.
It's good.
You don't need to put it down an inch more.
I already have a guy that mows it.
So, I mean.
Oh, your rocks.
We don't want to mess with your rocks.
Sorry, man.
But it's, like, I'm curious because there's really nice yards,
some of them along the road.
Some people, it's unkempt.
They don't even give a crap.
So I get they can roll through it just carelessly.
But, like, what about the guy that has beautiful saw?
tell me they don't roll through his because it's always hit or miss.
I think there's times they'll go over mine even though it's mode.
And I'm like, watch the rocks.
You and your rocks.
Oh, my rocks.
Well, I went and got him.
Oh, dude, I went to a quarry and I got them pumped all around all the pipeage so that when it rains,
I got it shooting out of there like it's a freaking Hoover Dam, bro.
See, that was my mistake.
when you were saying it
I thought it was just natural rocks
that were on the ground
that came from the earth
and I was like
you're really worried about them running over rocks
that are in the ground
but I didn't realize
they were implanted into your yard
Phil put about
eight different pipes
under my house that sends
the water shooting from my
roof and yard
all the way to this one
drainage system and it
just blast in the face the road.
I mean, I believe it's caused maybe a couple
traffic accidents. I was going to say, so you're the one flooding the road out there.
They're like, oh, road under water, turn around, don't drown.
It's because you navigated the water to go over that road.
It's basically Schlitterbond on a road if you come through anytime there's a rainstorm.
And I'm a sole person that's responsible for it.
Sue me.
We got to get it off our property, man.
I don't want it flood my place.
Why not divert it out to your yard?
A lot of tributaries.
So all the grass gets water.
It does.
It gets watered, but we had the guy do it.
So then at the end, what do you need?
Do you want it pooling anywhere?
No.
I was like, well, I go, when he had the excavator, I was like, so what do we do then?
He goes, shoot it towards the road.
Hey, what them suckers deal with it?
Ain't my problem.
Not on my property.
Hold on, honey.
all of a sudden we just hit a side wall of water.
It's a raging river out here.
It looks like it's coming from that jackass's front yard,
but we're going to go for it.
Hold on, Tyne.
Here we go.
Say a prayer.
You know what?
I got no apologies because there was a person,
not because of the rain,
went right and through my yard.
Oh, no.
They don't pay.
A car accident, they tear up your whole yard.
They don't pay for any of it.
They dig up half your yard.
I had to pick up basically all the car parts.
They never help you with any of that stuff.
Tell me more.
I never talk about it on the big show.
No.
He wasn't drunk.
He was a lawnscaper guy.
Yeah, lawnscaping.
Lonscaper.
And it was early.
I was going to work.
And he was going to work as well.
And they had all their construction and mowing stuff in his vehicle and his van.
And I guess he blew out his tire.
Oh.
Or he was drunk because it were definitely beer cans.
And he hit the curb and some.
somehow miraculously, he jumped a culvert, probably three feet in the air and kept his van upright.
No.
But just tore up all my irrigation, all my pipes.
I'm talking there were hub caps, wheels, beer cans, construction equipment, nails everywhere.
They got some tow truck to come, dig up my whole yard, and then they just leave, never hear from anybody ever again.
But the guys were Spanish.
so I mean
they weren't giving me their number
and you say this was in the middle of the night
well it was like
5 a.m. I was randomly going in on a weekend
oh it was kind of over the
holidays so I think there was something I had to do
but it was my bad
I should have pressed the guy more
for his number but it was different language
so there was a language barrier
and that's when you could have called Miguel
and he could have translated it for you
and also there were four of them in one of me
I was kind of outnumbered
and but the police
I mean
love our law enforcement
they do it
the first responders
you guys are heroes man
Robless you're kind of a little B
but everybody else heroes
there's no follow up
on how my road gets fixed
my drive my yard
I don't really think they're worried about a little piece of grass
man that's crazy
is that not a little crazy
that there's no follow up from anybody
of any like
I just had
hey
Sucks to be you, man.
Well,
and here, before it, bite your tongue,
here's where they go wrong.
There were street signs messed up.
They still haven't come back and fix those.
Now, that is something that needs to be fixed.
Thank you.
That is an issue.
Thank you.
Like, are they knocked down or are they just dinted?
Oh, no.
There was a yield sign that was thrown in the neighbor across the street's yard,
and there was a careful cross traffic that was twisted off
about a foot down and just jackknifed into the ground like a sphere and it's still there.
So if you need to look at that sign, it's upside down, ass backwards in the dirt.
Wow.
And they never fixed it.
Never fixed it.
He was going like 60 though.
With airborne yolo.
That is the issue is they do wreck stuff and they don't fix it.
Sort of like when I was in college, you know, hey, first responders, police, thank you for everything you do.
I was living in the dorm
you know and I got a random
roommate a girl
no he was a dude pause
pause okay
that's just a funny thing people
said got it and he was from
shirts Texas okay
just north of San Antonio just south
the new bronses and we
get paired up and we are the
exact opposites okay
couldn't be more different
he has posters that look like nothing
until you turn off the white and turn on the
black light. Then it's like mushrooms coming out of clouds and like weird.
Tinky. Weird. So we didn't really talk much. We didn't hang out. We weren't like BFFs. And if he was
in the room, I'd drop my stuff off. I would leave. How's it going, Shroomie? If I was in the room,
he'd drop his stuff off. He would leave. How's it going, Turtlehead? And Shirts, Texas was about
35 minutes from, you know, the campus. And he had a girlfriend that was still in high school. She'd come over
some nights and hang out. Very awkward. And I asked for a non-smoker. He was a smoker. So our room just
smelled like cigarettes smoke all the time. And not only that, then he was smoking in the room.
Cigarettes? And weed. You were cool with that? Uh, no. I wish I would have known that when I
lived with you. No, I wasn't cool with that. I'm like, hey, bro, like, what are you doing?
Ray, are you smoking the devil's lettuce?
No.
And the weed, you know, is just, it just reeks.
And you have a hard wall and a soft wall when you're in a dorm.
The soft wall, you know, is not brick.
And the girls next door, they started having the weed go into their room through the soft wall.
So they go to our RA and they're like, hey, man, that room next door is like weed is coming
through the walls to our room.
And it was Vanessa and I think
Laura was her name.
My wife? No, different one
that lived next door.
And so they went to Angela, the RA.
And the RA, hey, can I talk to you?
Takes me in her room.
Not kinky, unfortunately.
And she's like, hey, do you know anything
about, you know, weed being
in the room? Like anybody's smoking in the room?
And I'm like, my roommate, you know what I mean?
Probably does it. You know what I mean?
She's like,
way to dime.
It took you all of two seconds to dive them out.
No, no.
Angela doesn't care.
Angela's just like, you know, you both can get in trouble, you know, blah, blah, blah.
You know, just you might want to tell them to knock it off.
That's it.
No big deal.
And then I get a notice from the housing people.
Hey, can you come by the office?
You know, we've had reports of weed coming from your room.
smell of weed.
And I'm like, good God.
So I go by the housing office.
And they're like, all right, so what's going on?
I'm like, oh, nothing.
They're like, well, I mean, we've got numerous reports about the aroma of marijuana
coming from your room.
Do you know anything about it?
And I'm like, no.
And they're like, well, if we find it in there and you do not own up to it or let us
know what's going on, we have to assume it's both ears and your both will be kicked out
school. I will let us know. And I'm like, oh man. And this is week two and a half of my freshman
year of college. These were the bad times. These were the bad times. And I'm like, man, I don't know.
Dude, I was like, I would just like a new roommate. Did you think about running?
I didn't think about running. I'm out of here. No. You head for the border? I think about, I'm like,
Man, what do I do?
How do I handle this situation?
And I'm just like...
Do you think about quitting college?
Yeah.
Thought about it.
I don't want to get all tied up, wrapped up in drugs.
I don't want to be messed with by the cartel.
They're going to be so mad at me.
They're going to be so bad at me.
They're going to dismember me and put me on a stake in front of the dorm as a sign to other people,
don't mess with the cartel.
So I'm just sitting there for like 45 minutes.
they're grilling me.
And I'm finally like, you know what?
I don't give a crap about this dude.
I just met him two and a half weeks ago.
He's a loser.
And I said, yeah, man, he smokes weed in the room.
And they go, oh, all right, tell us more.
I'm like, man, he has his buddies.
I don't know.
They're in there and sometimes you go in.
It smells like weed.
So obviously they're smoking in the room.
I don't know where he keeps it, blah, blah, blah.
And they're like, all right, we're going to need you to sign this paper.
and we're going to have to tell him that you're the one that told us.
I've seen Roach clips.
And I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa, what?
He goes, yeah, man, if you signed this paper,
that means we're going to have to tell him that you told us.
I'm like, what the hell is wrong with you people?
There's no way that's legal.
And I said, I'm good.
I'm out, man.
I'm good.
Not doing that.
We're not playing that game.
We're not going to have him, like, you know,
have retaliation to come after me
because you guys told him,
that I am the one that told.
So I'm going to go ahead and pass on that.
I'm good.
Did they not have anonymous sources back in the day?
I don't know.
What if I just came up with this phrase, a term.
What if I was an anonymous source says?
And so I'm out.
Thanks, guys.
This is great.
But we're going to go ahead and go back to the room.
And I leave the housing office stop at the subway right there in the dormitory cafeteria.
Get me a sub.
for dinner, go back to the room, and I think that's the end of it.
But I'll tell you what happened right after this.

What I try to do is faux journal.
I don't know.
Have you guys heard of faux journaling?
Yeah, it's reading.
It's called reading.
So we don't like to use that word anymore.
Okay.
A panel of New Yorker cartoonists.
Have you guys done Terry Gross's Peloton class?
No!
I've been dying too.
I'm so sorry.
I'm seeing a reading.
of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Audra McDonald's at the Wonderland Bookstore on 14th.
That's crazy. I went to the Wonderland Bookstore yesterday and I heard Nora Jones do a reading of Zero Dark 30.
No way.
You have to come to the last bookstore though. Kim Cottrell is reading the guitar tabs of yesterday.
A panel of Eurovision participants. And we do a little Halloween sometimes.
Does the Pope dress up? He winks on Halloween.
He gets right up next to the microphone.

So, do you want to intro the show?
Oh yeah. Yeah.
Guys, we are exactly
29 days away from the convention in Nashville.
Soar Losers Convention brought to you by
Freeland Chevrolet.
We're going to do our intro.
we are the one, two, three.
Sore losers.
The hell was that.
What's up, everybody?
I am Lunchbox.
I know the most about sports.
So I'll give you the sports facts,
my sports opinions,
because I'm pretty much a sports genius.
Y'all, it's Sizzin from the North Alpha Mill.
Live on the north side of Nashville at Bays.
They've got three acres,
burnt to a crisp,
as aforementioned.
Justin Vanderbilt,
now moved to Michigan.
He's supposed to be checking on our two kids.
die of a heart attack when I'm 72.
I'm rambling. Back to you
in this edge of your seat story.
So go home, eat the subway, go to bed,
wake up the next morning,
and I have biology at
8 or 9 a.m.
Me and Wendy Stir, we walk together.
She lives right down the hall in the dorm.
Rocket or what?
I wouldn't say rocket,
but better than a knot it.
Ray, kind of like the radio station.
I would say a little bit better than average.
Oh.
And me and Wendy, we walked a class together.
We walk across campus, go to the science building.
I was going to say, because you're walking around.
You ain't dog walking, are you?
No, no, we're just walking.
We're just walking.
And we walk in.
Dr. Sinsman was our professor at this time for biology.
And he used to have a big old long PVC pipe, and he pointed the screen.
And this class is so freaking hard.
That's no longer allowed.
So hard.
And before we sit down on the auditorium, and you know,
This is one of those big freshman biology classes, 300 people.
I went to Texas State.
I understand. You didn't go to UTSA, but so you did not have Dr. Sinsman.
Every class is 500 kids.
Thank you.
But I'm just, I'm setting the scene, man.
The fact that I'm giving you the professor's name shows you how good this is.
Texas State is bigger than the University of Texas, not in sports, but in students.
I didn't know that.
I may have made that up, but I believe Middle Tennessee State is bigger than University of Tennessee, students-wise.
that's interesting.
I may have made that up.
If you guys can fact check me, we don't do Google.
Did you know that the Texas state is in the PAC 12 now?
Yeah.
I didn't know that.
That's why they're on TV now every weekend.
I saw that and I was like, whoa, and I saw about 62 people in the stands of the football game.
Yeah.
Still putting a good seat's available.
Anyway, so we sit down and me and Wendy are talking, you know what I mean?
Just chopping it up.
And some girl walks up to the front of the class and she goes, is there,
Jason Gibble here
Jason Gibble here
Jason Gibble
all before fame
and I'm like
that's me
what the hell
and I go down there
and I get it
she has an envelope for me
like who is this girl
how has she found me
in Dr. Sinsman's class
and all this
grab the envelope and I walk back up
to my chair sitting next to Wendy
and Wendy's like
what is it?
I'm a dad
and I open it up and it says
you are not the father
and I'm like what
and it says
Mr. Gible
this is the UTSA police department
oh snap
yeah
we've had some reports
and some stuff going on at the dormitory
and we'd like for you to come by our office
after your classes today
you're about to be an accomplice to murder the weed pen
and I am like what
this is two and a half weeks into my freshman
year of college and you are
balls deep in drug running.
What is happening?
I'm like, oh my God.
And so the rest of the day, I'm just in my classes shaking like a leaf.
Like, what the hell is going on here?
This is crazy.
Should have chilled with your roommate for a minute.
It would have chilled you out.
I don't think I had his phone number.
I get it.
If it was yin and yane,
sun and ice and fire, vinegar and salt.
Oil and water.
Oil and vinegar.
Maybe.
Then for sure, you're not getting his number.
Right.
Like, we had nothing in common.
Like, we didn't talk.
So I'm just like, oh, my God.
What is going on?
Like, I thought about not going to the police station.
Like, just going back to the door and whatever, leave it alone.
So I said, were you going to run?
You literally almost contemplated.
Yes.
Dude, I was like, this is it.
I'm just moving out.
Like, I got to just leave.
Because how far are you from the border?
I mean, probably three hours.
Yeah, or I just moved back north to Austin.
That's an hour and a half.
I'm running to the border.
No, y'all are going that way.
I'm going this way.
And I go to my classes, right?
And I'm just like, oh, my God.
So then I have to go to the police station.
So I go to the police station.
And they take me back in this room.
They're like, hey, tell me what's going on, man.
Freaking lethal injection?
And I'm like, I don't know.
You tell me what do you mean?
What's going on?
and goes, you know, is there any weed in your room?
I'm like, not that I know of, man.
So no one's been smoking in your room?
No.
So if we went to your room and searched it, there wouldn't be anything in there.
I was like, nope.
And they're like, I just want you to make sure you are making the right decision.
Because if we go into that room and there's weed, you will be kicked out of school because we are sitting here
asking you and you're saying no.
So that means I can't assume it's your weed or his weed.
You got a lawyer up.
And I'm like, good God, what do I do?
Well, I mean, I think so far you've handled it good.
You haven't said a lot, but you did admit to it, but then you didn't sign something,
but then you didn't admit it to the cops.
So already you're back and forth all over the place.
They should have just compared notes.
Well, he already admitted to it, but said he wouldn't be a source.
And then he told you that he did.
There's never seen weed.
Interesting.
Right.
And that's the thing.
The church and state needed to compare notes and you'd have been in jail, dude, for lying.
So I believe the housing people are the ones that went to the police, right?
Obviously.
Yeah.
And I've been there for a good 30 minutes.
And they're like, man, we just want to give you one more opportunity.
You know what I mean?
Like we don't want to, we don't think it's you.
All reports we've gotten are it's him that you have nothing to do with it.
We just want to make sure that you're okay and that you don't get in trouble.
And I'm like, oh my God.
And then I'm like, I'm going to be a snitch.
I'm going to have a reputation as being a little B.
So I was like, all right, man, yeah, he smokes weed in the room.
I just, I cave.
I folded like a lawn chair.
You could have said a cousin, dude.
Fricen marshmallow, man.
Frikin they're going to take down all his shroom posters.
Yeah.
You didn't out his shroom usage, did you?
No, I didn't say that.
I said, look, man.
I can get him for drugs and paraphernalia and we,
And I'm like, he's already on probation for weed at this point from regular life.
Okay.
You were assigned roommates with a freaking felon.
Yeah.
And so I'm like, man, I don't know what to do.
Oh, my God.
So I tell him, all right, look.
Yes, man.
Like, he has this one hitter that looks like a cigarette.
Like it's like a little pipe.
Roach.
I was like, I don't know.
I just
and so I
I draw us a diagram
of the room
so I have to draw a diagram
of the room
and I mean you're good at drawing
Dude so you're freaking
trying to draw a 3D box
so guys like this isn't going to be 3D
but you get it so it's like
it's not going to be really to scale
what did you
freaking draw like a freaking
dude I don't know
but I said where my bed was where his bed was
where the TV was where his computer was
my computer and I'm like God almighty and so we go over everything and they're like all right
what time does he get home from class wait they're about to do a freaking break in yes they're gonna
storm the room yes uh yeah bring that big black thing that opens the door the battering ram
the battering ram all for a pen dude it's a one hitterer
man okay
now that I'm older
I realize how ridiculous
this was okay
how ridiculous this operation
was right
yeah well I'll help you guys
we're gonna catch this mother
the dude was just smoking
he wasn't even gonna fight back
they had like a tactical team
dude
the
the effort
the ridiculousness of this
and this is what it mean
your story about them
wrecking something and leaving it
and not coming back.
Oh, finally, we're coming around to that.
This is what brings it all back.
And I said, well, he usually gets home at $4.50.
And they said, five o'clock will be there.
Oh, my gosh.
Make sure you use the restroom.
And I said, all right, man, like, cool.
And I said, but treat me just like you treat him.
Because I don't want him thinking I turned him in.
So if you're throwing him in cuffs, you throw me in cuffs.
Why would you just not be there?
I don't know.
Hey guys, so I'm going to act like I'm also guilty, but then wink.
The guy that winks is me.
And then you guys get the other guy.
I don't know.
I don't know what I was doing in my brain, right?
Your roommate comes in.
You're just twiddling your thumbs.
He's like, why does it look like you're waiting for 5 p.m.?
What are you doing?
Got a show on?
Nine minutes.
Nine minutes to Wapner.
Nine minutes to Wapner.
eight minutes, eight minutes to Wapner.
What?
Nothing, man, nothing, man.
I'm just doing a countdown in my head, doing a countdown.
Sorry.
So I go back to the dorm and I'm playing some Tigerwood golf on the computer and I'm just like,
man, I feel so bad.
You're like shanking the ball.
I am so nervous.
I'm like, there is three hours until we are raided.
The cops are, and I'm like, I'm feeling guilty.
Did you think of it hitting up windy for a final bang?
No.
and I call my mom talking to her and I'm like, should I get rid of some of his stuff?
She goes, well, if you know where some of it is, you can throw it away for him.
I'm like, all right, I got to go.
What did toolbox say, like get some chloroform or something and bleach the sheets?
Toolbox told me to burn the dorm down.
Over a pen.
Dad, what do you mix with paint that you're able to get colors out of stuff and smells?
So I look under his bed and there might be 50 empty beer bottles.
And I'm like, why would you keep your empty beer bottles?
Like, what are we doing here?
Why are you not throwing those away?
Are you guys underage?
We're freshman in college.
You're going to get a pop for that.
Right.
So what do I do?
I get all those beer bottles and all the beer bottles.
beer out of his fridge and I stick it in my dirty clothes and I take it to my car. And then there's a
briefcase under his bed that is locked. And I'm like, this has to be the weed where he keeps
the weed. And why would you have a lock on it? So I wrap that up in my comforter and I take it out
to my car. And I clear out anything I see that even resembles that could be it like this bag.
that and I drive to some apartment complex off campus and I throw it all away.
That was maybe the smartest thing you did.
Yes.
Ray, I turned off my phone before I arrived at the apartment complex.
Did you think about just killing your roommate?
Dude, you've created such a crime out of nothing.
I've gone down deep in.
But now you're an accomplice.
The whole time.
Your finger, did you have gloves on or you went fingered?
No, I didn't.
No.
fingerprints are all over everything all over the whole time I'm carrying the stuff out to my car
I'm thinking they're watching me and they're going to pull me over what did you take the
wheat pen out with like your underwear no no it was in the briefcase I think right my dirty grundies
and I said man they're going to pull me over and my story's going to be oh man I was just throwing
it away from my roommate yeah right throwing away the comforter you slept with Wendy and it was
filthy.
Now she's
in on the crime. Now I
drag someone else in. I mean,
I'm just adding people to the freaking drama.
So
after I go to the apartment complex and throw it all
away, I come back,
and I'm sitting there playing Tiger Woods.
And I'll tell you what happens
right after this.

Lisa?
We should tell them about our new show.
Oh my God, Lexi.
We have a new podcast.
It's called Don't Lie to Me.
I'm Lexi Youanu.
We're two best friends, 22 years apart, but so close at heart.
And I'm Lisa Di Giulio, the old one, which means we have wildly different references,
occasionally different opinions, and at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all.
I'm not going to get anyone fighting.
That is wild.
I learned that about you today.
Now in my 30s, being the founder of new shoes, good taste is my business.
And I've always got something to say.
If men were just honest about this,
there would be so much more peace in the world.
We're going to talk about dating, relationships, beauty,
getting older, and a little wiser.
We're best friends, but we don't always agree.
Because you told us how accommodating you are.
Obviously, I would do what I think I could do to fight the fight,
but there's only so much fight I can fight.
Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Liar.
Listen on the eye.

I'm seeing a reading of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Audra McDonald's at the Wonderland Bookstore on 14.
That's crazy.
I went to the Wonderland Bookstore yesterday and I heard Nora Jones do a reading of Zero Dark 30.
No way.
You have to come to the last bookstore, though.
Kim Cottrell is reading the guitar tabs of...
yesterday.
A panel of Eurovision participants.
And we do a little Halloween sometimes.
Does the Pope dress up?
He winks on Halloween.
He gets right up next to the microphone.
I hear you can almost hear the eyelashes hit each other.
You never seen Italy so quiet as when the Pope gets up to wink on Halloween.

This is not where this was supposed to go.
This is a crime scene and we're balls deep.
Balls deep.
Crime pods are huge right now.
So at 450, that door opens and it's him.
And the minute the door clicks shut, I turn to my right because his room was the right side of the room.
And I said, hey, man, you got 10 minutes.
They're coming to search this place for weed.
his face lost all color.
He went ghost white.
I was like, I threw away your briefcase.
I threw away all your beer and your beer bottles.
I don't know what else you got, but you got 10 minutes.
Here's $5.
Try and get as close to the border as you can.
I got you a bus fare.
It leaves at 5 o'clock.
You're going to Guadalajara.
It's been nice knowing you.
Can I throw away your shroom poster?
Can I get rid of the damn black, black,
So he could not remember when a girl would call.
He'd be like, hey, man, some girl called him.
Her name was, I'm not sure.
It started with a constant, not a vowel, but yeah, you might want to call her back.
Typical pothead.
All right, cool.
But when I told him the cops were coming, this dude, I've never seen him move so fast.
He pulled weed.
He had an alien mask.
Pulled it out of the eyes, the mouth, the nose, the bottom of the alarm clock where the batteries went.
Pulled it out of there.
Had pipes in all different locations.
Oh, I thought that was the sink.
Pulled it out of everywhere.
Couldn't remember a girl's name that calls me, but remembered all these hiding places.
Under the mattress.
Everywhere.
And I'm just like, oh, my God.
And he gets rid of it all.
And he goes, all right, man, I'm out of here.
How do you get rid of it all?
He took it out to the dumpster or flushed it down the toilet?
Toilet, probably.
But the pipes, he took out and threw them away.
But like the weed, how do you throw it?
Because doesn't it fly up in the air?
I don't know.
So at 457, he's like, I'm out of here, man.
And he leaves.
You got to contact the officers and tell him to abort mission.
They're coming with the battering ram.
At 5 o'clock, boom, boom, boom.
here they come.
He's not there.
I'm the only one there.
So what do they do?
They throw me in handcuffs.
Didn't they know it was you?
Yes.
And they sit me in the hallway.
So everybody in the dorm
is walking up and down our hallway
to see this idiot
in the middle of the third week of school
that is getting busted by the police.
You did a perp walk for a pen?
Hey, call my parents. I get one call.
This tells you how much action the UTSA police were getting.
Hey, toolbox. Yeah, they popped me. I ended up having a comforter. They got me on camera with a briefcase.
Dude, they ripped our room to shreds.
Really? I mean, they took the trash can, dumped it all over the floor, flipped over the mattresses, ripped off all the bedding.
dumped out all the drawers, everything.
And at the time, the phone was ringing over and over and over again.
It was my damn roommate in someone else's room calling to see if the police had left.
He called at least 10 times.
And everybody's looking at me.
And after about a 30-minute search, they find nothing.
Wow.
And I go, hey, man, we didn't find anything.
anything. We didn't find anything. I'm like, all right, cool.
Not a piece of flour. Not anything.
So they uncuff me and they say, you have a good night.
And I go back in our room.
It is, the ass is torn out of it.
There is stuff everywhere.
Like they freaking ransacked your room. You were on their side.
It looked like a tornado had gone through.
There was just crap everywhere.
and then the phone ring ring ring and I answer it and it's the dude from shirts
Texas he's like hey man are they gone I was like yeah he goes all right man I'll be right back
I'll be down hangs up and that's when Gabby and Gigi come by and they're like you want to go
get some dinner and I'm like yeah that'd be nice so we're leaving and we're walking down the
hall past the roommate he goes hey man don't worry about it I'll help you clean up and I'm
like help me clean up.
You're going to clean up the whole damn room yourself, man.
And so me and Gabby and Gigi, we went to IHop, got some food, came back, and I went to my room.
Roommates in there.
He's like, dude, I really appreciate you having my back, man.
I really appreciate it.
You didn't really.
Oh, you did.
I did.
I mean, there were times you were.
Those were the bad times.
Right.
But you went against BroCode.
But then you really.
realize that wasn't good.
But is it really broke code if you don't know this person?
Correct.
Do you give a crap about this guy?
Correct.
Like, at 18 years old,
am I really going to risk everything for this dude?
You did him a solid.
Even though to the one lady,
you said it was him.
Well, and then did the cops who eventually told them it was him.
I'd say, though, you helped him out,
especially since you told him the heads up.
That was smart.
Dude.
But you should just not have put your place yourself.
at the scene of the crime.
That was the only flaw you had.
Why didn't you just not be there?
I don't know.
Leave him a dear John.
This is all 20 years later.
Hindsight's 4070.
Oh, hindsight is hilarious that he's the one that left and I didn't.
Why didn't you leave a paper,
a dear John note in Morris Code,
cops coming,
or how would the cops not know that you left the note?
Ding, ding, ding, because you know what he would do?
He would get rid all the weed and he'd leave the note.
And then they'd come after me.
Because there were no cell phones back then.
They were brand new.
Cell phones were brand new.
Dude.
And then, so we're sitting there that night, me and him.
And I'm sitting on my computer and I got a tennis ball and I'm just kind of bouncing it.
He's like, man, I really appreciate that, man.
I mean, I'm going to be a better roommate.
I'm going to be, and I was like, bro, no, no, no, no.
You're not going to be a better roommate.
Tomorrow morning, you're going to march down to the housing office and say, you need a new room that we ain't working out.
He's like, you sure, man?
I'm like, yeah, I'm sure.
I'm sure.
I think it's about time you find a new spot.
I'm going to miss you, though, man, Mr. Shroomie.
And three days later, he moved out to the third.
floor.
But that was my story of them tearing the ass out of it and leaving it the same.
We'll take a break.
We'll be right back.

There's no coming back from that story.
It was that good.
There's nothing that'll top that, man.
Dude, that's what, when you told that story about the wreck in your yard
and them not coming back to fixture your rocks, it brought back memories.
It's just the thing that people never talk about is there really isn't the cleanup crew.
after stuff like that.
No, they don't give a crap.
They're there to look for something.
If they don't find it, it's on you, man.
They don't say, oh, here, we're going to send Molly maid over to your house and they're
going to clean it up for you.
That's odd new, bro.
Man, I can't believe in seven minutes that guy got all the weed out of the room.
I can't either.
I've never seen him move that fast.
Like a little spider monkey?
Yeah.
Ghost white.
I mean, his face was ghost white.
wonder what he's doing now
I have no idea
I've tried to look him up on Facebook
I can't believe he was able to get every bit of weed out of there
well I think it helped that I got rid of the briefcase
and the bottles and all that
but you think one little bud in two weeks time
would have fallen on the ground
especially back then there weren't the pens
and it's where it's clean
when brother comes over to the house
friend of mine I mean there's always
it's a messy it's a messy
It's a messy, messy stuff.
Yeah.
So I'm just saying I'm surprised.
I'm surprised that there wasn't just one little leaf.
Yeah.
It's crazy.
But I mean, they could have just drug tested you.
But that doesn't prove that you had it in your room.
You're clean, though.
Mouth swab.
They can do that easily.
It's not invasive.
It's not like they can cut your hair six months.
Mouse swabs two weeks.
But the fact that they raided the place, now that I'm,
older, like you said, over
hindsight's 80, 70.
Yeah. They would never do that in today's world.
Never. Never. You're right. They had nothing
going on at UTSA. Nothing to do. And they're like, oh my God.
We're about to get one.
That's great. How many dudes do you think came to the room with a battering ram?
There was five cops.
There was one. It's just the scraughty white guy playing Tiger Woods golf.
Did they ever ask you where he was?
I was like, I don't know.
He just came in and left.
Oh, that plan really worked.
And they had one person outside the window just as case they tried to jump out the window
and one at the end of the hall where the exit was.
There's a guy out the window with a taser and pepper spray?
His guns pointed at the window.
Oh, my gosh, dude.
Well, did you know there was going to be a guy out the window?
No!
What if when they came with the battering ram, you thought, oh my gosh, he's gone.
They're going to think I'm him.
What if you then went to go out the window and the guys there with the taser and the peppers spray?
Oh, man.
Oh, yeah.
Welcome to UTSA, man.
Welcome to UTSA.
Every time I see their score, I'm going to think about that story.
You should.
On the bottom line.
If anybody knows where my buddy from Shirts, Texas is, let me know.
I mean, unbelievable.
Unbelievable.
You just can't.
That.
that's college right there.
That was it, dude, two and a half weeks in,
and I was just like, what did I get myself into?
Because you're so sheltered at home.
And then the first two weeks outside in the outside world,
you're like, what is this big place?
What?
The cops want me to come by the police station.
What?
And you're already tested with it?
Are you going to honor bro code?
Are you an honorable person?
Are you a liar?
Are you a snitch, nark?
Are you going to be a little B?
Are you going to stick up with this dude that you just met
that you said more than 20 words.
do your whole life.
God.
Awesome, man.
Awesome.
Yeah.
You ready to go?
I did go play golf Wednesday.
Yeah.
Dude, online,
crazy.
No tea times available, right?
I roll out to the golf course,
walk in.
He's like, oh yeah, we get you play 18.
He goes, I'll start you on the back.
Then you come back around and I'll put you out on the front.
Perfect.
I play that back nine in one hour.
There wasn't a soul on the back nine.
My kind of muny.
It was amazing.
One hour.
Muni life.
And I mean, it was just beautiful day.
Oh.
Amazing.
Roll into the club balance.
I said, hey, man, now I'm going out the front.
And he goes, what do you mean?
I'm like, you told.
me to start on the back and then come back in and just tell you when I'm going out of the front.
I did?
What is he your roommate from shirts?
Bad memory?
And I'm like, yes.
And he goes, oh, that's right.
I did tell you that.
Let me look at what time I can get you out here.
I'm like, well, no, I'm just going to make the turn right now.
And he goes, well, I got a tea time for the front night and then about 50 minutes from now.
no said what he goes yeah
50 minutes if you're gonna want to wait around for 50 minutes
I'll let you play the front nine
is that a trick question because the answer's already no
I was like so the whole time that it took me to play the back
you want me to wait that long to play the front
he goes yeah man
that's about what time I might get you out
I said you have a great day man
rain check
packed it up and went home wait but they gave you half your money back
yeah okay yeah
but 50 minutes what did 50 minutes they asked me at freaking a grocery store if I want to wait two minutes for
another rotissary I'm like I'm good 50 minutes 50 minutes what lost your damn mind lost your damn mind
oh my gosh all right guys have a great weekend that was not where this pod was supposed to go
but I thought it was a great pod would you want to wait one minute oil changed the
the whole bay will be open if you want in a minute.
I'm good. I got to get it.
Hey, can I get a table for five?
Can you give me two minutes to clean it off?
No, we'll just go next door, man.
We'll go to the restaurant next door.
This road's closed down.
You said there's a line down?
Oh, it should be cleared out in a couple minutes.
I'll just drive the town over to another town to another town.
I ain't waiting in line.
As long as I'm moving, it's a lot better than just sitting, man.
It's a lot better.
Me and Bezor did that the other day.
Really?
Yeah, they're like, the wait's like 10 minutes.
We drove through like four towns.
Do I wait in four minutes?
My wife gets so mad at me.
Like if there's any bit of traffic, I will get off and drive and cut and weave and go this way and that way.
And she's like, you know that it would have been quicker for you just to sit there.
I said, yes.
But you know what feels better is actually moving.
when you're moving, you think you're going faster than what you would have been sitting in that traffic.
The fair, they had dirt bikes.
Oh, you can watch them practice right now or you can wait 10 minutes and there'll be actual racing.
Just watch your practice. Thanks.
I wait in 10 minutes.
Just watch them practice.
Freaking crazy.
Oh, man.
All right, you guys have a great weekend.
We are out of here and I should probably give some locks because I'm 0 and 7.
I'm probably, I'm so bad at locks right now.
If you want to rock them and we just keep it rolling.
We got to go.
No, you can keep it rolling and have a great weekend.
Give your locks.
I'm going to keep it rolling.
You're going to Philly.
Look, Green Bay Packers, they suck.
They're going to Tampa.
Jalen Daniels, the Rock Chalk Jayhawk quarterback.
We have no idea what he's going to do.
I assume his first game he's going to suck.
give me the Packers, minus three and a half, take it to the bank.
Oh, man.
We got the Arizona Cardinals as road favorites over the New York Giants.
Are you serious?
I am.
Cardinals, roll.
James Famous Winston will throw three interceptions.
Jacoby Berset's going to sling that rock.
Brian Burns got hurt on the defense for the Giants.
guys, give me the Arizona Cardinals, Jeremiah Love, two touchdowns, minus two and a half, take it to the bank.
And then I don't understand this.
The New England Patriots getting seven points.
God, I can't do it.
But I'm going to do it.
It's one of those bets you don't want to make.
The Patriots suck.
They're getting seven points at Buffalo.
Those games are always close.
They find a way division games.
Patriots plus seven.
Take it to the bank.
Have a great weekend.
Yeah.
And USC minus nine and a half.
Smash that in college.
Smash it.
All right.
I got to go.
Hopefully my voice sounds all right.
Have a good weekend, guys.
All sound great on Monday.
Maybe I'll do a Big Brother pod on Monday.
Just so you guys can hear it.
Have a great weekend.
We're out.
Bye.
Bye, guys. We got to go. See you later.
God, my kid's going to be so pissed when it rains out his soccer game tomorrow.
Oh, man. And then Morgan's wedding? Oh, my gosh. If it rains, that sucks. I guess it's not her wedding. It's just a party.
We should have plenty of stories from that on Monday. We're out. Bye.
