The Bobby Bones Show - SORE LOSERS - Who Did Lunchbox Get Rejected By This Time?

Episode Date: July 27, 2026

Lunchbox gets his hopes up every year only to be crushed when he receives the same email from The Masters to tell him he isn't wanted in Augusta. After a rough day of playing 9 holes of golf with Boom...er, Ray came to the realization that golf sucks and people are idiots who still play that game. Also Ray takes us back to Las Vegas to talk about life at the Circa Resort & Casino and the prices to chill at the pool. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It's called Happiness, Delivering Happiness. And many, many more. Open your free High Heart Radio app. Search Delivering Happiness with Nick Tutro.
Starting point is 00:02:25 And listen now. I got to talk about Boomer and me golfing. Oh, finally. Yeah, we're behind. We're backlogged. I mean, I asked you, did you do anything in Boomer? No, not really. We didn't do anything. Cool. And now this pops in your memory bank? Well, you're not going to like it because it's me bashing golf for about five to ten minutes. I'm glad because we got about five to ten minutes to bash golf because I have a golf story as well.
Starting point is 00:02:53 Guys, we're the sore losers podcast. We're a spin off of the Bobby Bone show. We're from Nashville, Tennessee. We both. live in Nashville, Tennessee. We're called the sore losers and we're going to do it live. Yeah. We are the ones. What? I thought you're going to go, we're doing it live. We're doing it live. I hate doing that. So I'm trying to move away from it. Why? I just don't look because it's copying Bill O'Reilly. No, it's making fun of Bill O'Reilly. We're going to do it live. We are the one, two, three, so losers. What up, everybody. I am lunchbox. I know the most about sport. So I give me the sports facts, my sports opinions, because I'm pretty much a sports genius. We are 99 days away from the sore losers convention in Nashville, Tennessee, 2007 MLK Day weekend.
Starting point is 00:03:42 The same host city of the Super Bowl in 2030. This convention is in 2027 brought to you by Freeland Chevrolet. What up y'all, Sizzin from the North Alpha Mail, also from the West Wyoming. I haven't recently, I haven't always said that I'm. from the west. But yes, as of recently, I'm from the west, also from the north, also from Texas, also from the west side of Nashville, also from downtown Nashville, former mayor of Lower Broadway. Now I live in the country, a quieter life, 20 minutes from the city. Cornfields and corn cobs and a lot of shucking going on up there, y'all. But anyways, I got a wife, we got
Starting point is 00:04:18 2.3 acres. I got two kids in a freezer at Vanderbilt. They're eggs and they need to be fertilized. Justin should be checking on him, but he moved to Michigan. He works basically. on a dingy on Gunn Lake and then goes the casino on Friday and loses $20 of discretionary income. But that's all I got, Coach, over to you. Man, he left his dog and your kids. Well, his dog's dead.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Well, okay. But yeah, Ray, every year, it's amazing how you get your hopes up, you get excited, you fill out the application, you say, yes, I would like to go to the Masters, please. I would love a ticket to enter the gates
Starting point is 00:04:58 in Augusta, Georgia. To see Amen Corner up close, impersonal, touch that grass with your own hand, your own feet, put your lawn chair there and watch them attack the part three,
Starting point is 00:05:14 watch them go over Ray's Creek, watch them walk the hallowed grounds that is Augusta National. Forgot one. What? Jim Nance, the azaleas, are in bloom. Dang it.
Starting point is 00:05:28 You want to see those azaleas. You want to stick your nose up in them and say, wow. This is what I've been dreaming about all my life when I see it on TV. You want that feeling. I mean, every Sunday, Jim Nance acts like he just smelled Dottie Pepper's fart. He's like, the azaleas. It's the Masters on CBS. Nothing else like it.
Starting point is 00:05:51 Sunday at Augusta. What the? So every year, when it's time to do it, I fill out the application saying, hey, please put me in the selection process, drawing, whatever you want to call it, for the Masters. And yesterday I got the email. Thank you. Oh, to the sore losers account? No. That would be we are the sore losers at gmail.com.
Starting point is 00:06:21 But I should try that. Maybe they'll see that we are a podcast and they would accept my invitation because this. one says thank you. Thank you for submitting your 2027 ticket application. We have now completed the ticket selection process for the Masters Tournament, Augusta National Women's Amateur, and Drive Chip and Putt National Finals. Unfortunately, your entry was not selected this year. We are deeply appreciative of the tremendous interest we receive each year in attending the tournament. Sorry, maybe next year. And so I've been rejected once again.
Starting point is 00:07:01 I am not going to the Masters. And I'm starting to wonder, do they even give new people a chance? Are new people automatically kicked out because I've never been before? So they're never going to select me again. How many people get selected? 30,000? That's a great question. We don't know.
Starting point is 00:07:20 I don't know because I wonder how many are. No, it has to be like a, because it's a British Open this weekend. there was 300,000 throughout the weekend. Okay. And I would imagine 300,000? Oh, I was thinking millions. Okay, so let's just say use that exact same number. So 300,000 and how many people get selected, you said?
Starting point is 00:07:38 I don't, that's what I'm saying. I would say there's got to be all the, oh, the good fellas, they get let in. Oh, I was grandfathered in. My granddaddy was born on the masters. You got a lot of those guys, old boy boys, you got the celebrities. Eric Dodd could probably get us in. we just never can take time off work. Yeah, I mean.
Starting point is 00:07:59 But let me do the math real quick for you. It has to be a negotiation. Let's just say 30,000 people or 50,000. 100,000. Okay, 100,000 of random people they're letting in there, no. They got to control it. No, it has to be at least 100,000. Okay, so 300,000, 0,000 divided by 103.3.
Starting point is 00:08:25 wait how many people apply that's what I need to do yeah we have no idea how many people apply okay so millions so millions yeah I mean probably let's say five million that's probably a good estimate divided by 100,000 50% chance I thought to do that statistical season hey thanks for bringing the statistical season right to us I really appreciate it. I'm imagining you probably have similar to a roulette spin. Yeah. And do you ever hit, I mean, you got kind of that, those odds. Well, here's the thing. Greg. Oh, rejected again. Garrett. I got rejected again. Jacob. Oh, I got my email. I'm not going. And then another guy, want, want, won, won, denied. But this morning, this morning,
Starting point is 00:09:21 Garrett texts, hey, Reb got selected again. Second time in a lot. 11 years he's been picked. A guy he used to work with at the grocery store. How does he get picked twice in 11 years? And I've been doing it for, I don't know how many years, and I've never even got to sniff. I mean, unbelievable to get selected twice in 11 years. That's what I'm saying. Like, once you get in and you actually go, you use your tickets, I feel like they give you
Starting point is 00:09:49 priority and they put you back in the top. Those are your odds. So to say 10 million people apply, they select 100. thousand, you have a 1% chance. Thank you. I'll hang up and listen. So, yes, I will not be at the Masters this weekend, or this year, I mean. I won't be there on Sunday with Jim Nance.
Starting point is 00:10:07 I won't get to touch the water. I won't be able to see the pine needle, the pine straw where, you know, Bubba Watson whipped it out of there and raked it around. I'm not going to see any of that. But we'll get to see it, Beth Page again with your gay friend, guy friend. Did not mean to say that. Yeah. And so there you go.
Starting point is 00:10:25 We were on TV. Check our socials. Yeah. So are losers' podcasts on Instagram. We were on TV. I was right there up in the middle of the Ryder Cup. I was a key part of the Ryder Cup team. Almost brought USA back from an unreal deficit. We came up a little short.
Starting point is 00:10:41 But that's here nor there. That's right. The one tournament you got to go to there behind the entire time. But they started making a comeback that day. But yes. So the Masters, if you applied and you got rejected, don't feel bad. I got rejected too.
Starting point is 00:10:54 but who cares about the masters when you have Ray and Boomer at the golf course. After the break. No, no, no, no, just right now. So I was just thinking about this and this isn't going to be good because you just pumped up golf. I'm here to say just how much golf kind of sucks. So me and Boomer, we played yard golf. Phenomenal. You get these oversized clubs at Dix?
Starting point is 00:11:20 Dix. Other nephew loves going to Dix. I think it's because of the name. He goes, hey, can we go to Dix? Okay, Asher. Whatever. The guys, the nephews, the guy, they all love going to Dix. So anyways, you get these oversized clubs.
Starting point is 00:11:34 You basically get Wiffle balls and you play yard golf. You make a course, par three. It's a blast. Beezer can play. Me and Boomer played it all day. This was over Fourth of July. This is why golf sucks. That was the fun part of golf.
Starting point is 00:11:47 Oh. So we decided to book a golf tea time and we go do it. And it's 100 degrees. So it's just already miserable. me and Boomer get there. We're whatever, 45 minutes early. Can we get on early? Oh, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:12:00 What is it? What do you think it is? Oh, it's all the great, it's the old, good old boys. They get to go out in their group of nine. Oh, got to clear the way. She could have easily got us out there, wasn't trying to bend over backwards, didn't care about us.
Starting point is 00:12:12 I called before. Hey, can he rent some lefty clubs? Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're all set. We get there, there's no driver. So Boomer's got to go with a hybrid, which is fine. It was a type of course you necessarily didn't need a driver. This is a lot of,
Starting point is 00:12:24 all suckiness, okay? I know that's usually your angle, how much stuff sucks, but this really sucked. No, mine doesn't always suck. Sometimes it's awesome. There's no buttholes and rainbows on this one. This all was just sucky. So we're at the first tee, and a guy pulls up. And Boomer goes, who's he?
Starting point is 00:12:40 Why is he playing with us? Boomer didn't know you get paired with somebody. Oh, my. Has he never played golf? He has, but usually they have a foursome. Okay. That makes sense. He had no idea. He goes, why is this guy with us? And I go, Boomer at golf courses. I just forgot how much that kind of sucks. You randomly get paired sometimes with people.
Starting point is 00:12:56 So we're with that guy. First T, Boomer hybrid. What do you know? It's not his driver. So Boomer hits it about, I don't know, 1,000 miles in the air right above us, 10 feet in front of him because he's using a hybrid instead of a driver. Or he just teed it up too high.
Starting point is 00:13:12 Because golf sucks. You're talking about an inch of difference. The margins, unbelievable when it comes to golf. So whole one, you know, hole two, whole three. this course just doesn't have lush green. Unless I'm in Cancun where I've got a foot that I could miss the ball because there's so much lush green and still hit a good shot, this one, I'm like, Boomer, move it a foot.
Starting point is 00:13:36 First three holes. Dude, just move it a foot over. You're not hitting off dirt. You literally need the margins with the green grass so that you can get the ball in the air. Just move it out of the dirt. Why? Why is golf so stupid? I need good grass. I need the masters.
Starting point is 00:13:51 Hell of a segue. First hole. I go boom. Don't just don't hit it to the right. Boomer's got a great shot. I go, dude, we're about to get onto the green. Boomer, just don't hit it to the right. There's long grass.
Starting point is 00:14:00 We'll never find the ball. Boomer hits it to the right. Golf sucks. So we got to go in this long grass. No, no, that means Boomer sucks. That has nothing to do with golf. So we're in this long-ass grass. And what do you know?
Starting point is 00:14:11 The guy that we're playing with just finishes up while we're looking for the ball. Well, I mean, I don't know, boomer. This guy is just, I got something stuck right up his butt. So now he's on to the next one. I guess let's just drop your ball. So already Bumers popped up the ball. He's had to do a drop. He's had to move his ball because of the dirt.
Starting point is 00:14:28 It's all just suckiness so far. Then we get to the second one. This guy that we're with is pretty good. Had some dope Pumazone. Had no idea they made amazing golf shoes. He was actually kind of a cool guy, so I don't want to rip on him. Very nice. Older guy?
Starting point is 00:14:42 No, it's like our age. I had a family, kids. Hopefully he doesn't listen to this. I'm just like bashing him. But great golfer. Margins are so small in golf. He chill. dips it on this second hole. It was a perfect par three. He chili dips it. A great golfer and he
Starting point is 00:14:57 hit, used the wrong club or whatever it was, missed by a centimeter and he hits it like 20 feet. Like what a waste of a hole. And so this guy who's really good at golf has to go play his ball 20 feet off the T-box. Yeah. It's just unfair. Like golf's just so unfair and stupid. The guy was actually a good golfer wasted hole. We're only playing nine and this guy just wasted one of them. Next hole. Well, there's your problem. What? Playing nine. Yeah, it was 110.
Starting point is 00:15:26 Oh, my God. Oh, no. A little heat? This is three weeks ago. Can we do pole three the finishing after the break? No, we got time. Not after the break. So we're on to the third, okay?
Starting point is 00:15:39 Who knows? I think I 10 putted. Love golf, man. I got it on the green and 2 and 10 putted. Yeah. Because I'm flustered. That guy's moving quick. So we go to the third.
Starting point is 00:15:49 What do you know? On the third, it's a hole you have to drive a quarter mile to go see if there's golfers over the hill so you don't hit him. So I drive all the way. Bumer's like, Anto-A, where are you going? Boomer, I have to go see if there's golfers because if you hit them, you could kill them. Correct. So I go all the way over.
Starting point is 00:16:06 You don't want to go full Kane Brown on them. No. Nobody up there, guys. And so then I drive all the way back. And we tee off. Yep. And everything was fine on that hole. Can't really remember.
Starting point is 00:16:22 It was an insane slope. So unless you, oh, of course something went wrong on that hole. Boomer. Great first shot. A great second shot. But the parking lots within 15 feet of the hole. So it kind of will gradually go up onto the parking lot. We can see his ball.
Starting point is 00:16:40 We can see it. And I go, Boomer, let's go get it right now because there's people in the parking lot cars. They will knock that ball every which way. We hurry. We're going to the ball. We're gunning it. Some dude in the parking lot just picks up a. ball because we couldn't find it for the LIBOS.
Starting point is 00:16:56 Yeah. When you see a ball in the parking lot, you assume someone dropped it out of their bag. They don't think, you don't think they're bad enough to hit it, the 100 yards to the right of the green. So you wouldn't assume that someone is playing that ball. So I'm with the guy in the parking lot. We go to the fifth hole, if you will. And it's one of those holes where you can hit it anywhere on a left fairway, right fairway, and you're good. Even the middle, there's a tree line. I hit it one foot to the right. It goes in some guy's yard and it's one of those yards you can't play in. And it wasn't even that bad of a shot. Love golf. Perfectly hit. Missed the fairway by a foot and it's already in some guy's yard. Why do they let those people live that
Starting point is 00:17:40 close to the golf course? Not on the tour. Do they do that? So we finish that one up. Go to the other one. We're on the sixth. What do you know? We're just waiting for people. Just sitting. Just sitting there in 110 degree heat waiting for people. And this guy comes over and starts doing an awkward conversation. So where do you go to school? And Boomer like, I guess doesn't know how to talk. Boomer, the guy, boomer goes, oh, I commute.
Starting point is 00:18:05 I go four hours. And the guy goes, you commute four hours to college? And I'm like, I just let Boomer just like sink. I'm not even talking. Yeah, there's no need to save him. And Boomer's like, yeah, yeah. The guy's like, man, that's insane. Every day driving four hours to college.
Starting point is 00:18:21 And Boomer doesn't say anything. He'll go, he's leaving one thing out. He has an apartment there. He's going to stay on campus, but it's an initial four-hour commute to college for the fall. I'm like, Boomer, you've got to learn the stories you're telling people. That made no sense to him. He was so confused.
Starting point is 00:18:38 So we're small talking with this chump. Boomer, just playing with clubs that aren't his because, what do you know, golf sucks? You've got to travel with your clubs. Nobody has good lefties. So Boomer hitting the ball fine, but it's just missing. and so he's always chasing the ball and it's one of those, not a cart path. So what do you know?
Starting point is 00:18:57 Boomer has to run all the way back and get another club because he doesn't know the clubs. They're not his. Oh, cart path only is rough, dude. Then we get to the seventh. I wish I was making up all these bad things. Boomer misses the green by 10 feet. Oh.
Starting point is 00:19:13 Goes in the other fairway. So what do you know? He's sitting behind a tree. Hi, hi there. Mr. Can I shoot? The guys can't hear him. The guys are about to drive. I'm like, boomer.
Starting point is 00:19:21 Gamer, get behind a tree. Get down. You're about to get Cain Browned again on the golf course. Who knew it could happen this much? So Boomer docks in. Then the next guy. Oh, you can go. Okay, well, so you guys are going to.
Starting point is 00:19:33 One of you is going to rush. Then one of he was going to be standoffish. And I'm like, okay, boomer, so go. So boomer's rushed. Doesn't hit a good shot. He probably ice snowmanned it and got an aide on the hole. Me, I landed on the green. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:19:47 It was my one par. Okay. But I'm not even celebrating the par. Why? Because Boomer just got a snowman because some guy was about to peg him in the face with a golf ball. Are you worried about Boomer's score or your score? Both, but also our fun. At this point, we're not even keeping score.
Starting point is 00:20:02 So then we get to the eighth. Good God, six holes in, you guys give up on score? That's ridiculous. That's typically pretty standard. But the eighth, I get out my hybrid and the margins in golf, you'll hear me say this. I may have missed by an inch. And guess what? club digs into the
Starting point is 00:20:23 T-box jerks my whole back. I chili dip it. I mean, it was a whole bowl of chili. The ball lands in the creek. Oh, no. And I mean, my club's full of mud. Dude, it feels like I just broke my back because I hit the grass so hard.
Starting point is 00:20:39 So at that point, I'm just pissed. I'm like, screw it. I'll just drive the cart over. I'm not even going to swing this hole. So I just went and dropped with Boomer. Didn't even play that hole. Payed for nine. Played eight. Wow. Then we go to the final hole. Wow. What do you know?
Starting point is 00:20:52 All that frustration, I play my best hole. Hit the hybrid. Absolutely beautiful. But I don't even get to enjoy it because I'm pissed off that it's so sunny. We weren't drinking. The guy we were with is like asking us where the 10th hole is. I'm like, I don't know, dude. It's like a small course.
Starting point is 00:21:09 It's literally right next. He goes, I've never played this course before. Where's 10th? I'm like, okay, so it's just right over there, right to that. He goes back to the first hole. So then I'm like, well, they are right by each other. They are. And so I'm like, it's one over.
Starting point is 00:21:22 Yeah, we already played that one, so that wouldn't be 10. And he asked me, where's the ninth hole? Is originally what he asked me? And I go, the ninth hole. The guy didn't know that like the first nine and then the next nine. And he was good at golf. So he was with the ninth hole. And I was like, yeah, it's just right over there.
Starting point is 00:21:38 I think he still to this day thinks that he played the ninth hole. I'm like, bro, you're playing the 10th. You finish nine. Every golfer knows that. But then he couldn't find the 10th hole. Oh, over there. Yep, over one, because we already played that one. That one was one.
Starting point is 00:21:53 And then you said that you thought that was nine, but that's actually 10. I'm yelling to a stranger, wasting my energy because he doesn't know where number 10 is on this golf course. And so then me and Boomer, what do you know? I mean, we just get back in our vehicle. We've sweat the entire day. Neither one of us had fun. Yard golf was way better. And I'm just like, I look at Boomer in the car, both just sitting there, depressed, depleted of it, all energy.
Starting point is 00:22:18 and I'm just like, dude, golf kind of sucks. Like, I'd rather just play yard golf. And he goes, don't the way? You're right, aunt the way. Golf kind of sucks. We'll take a break. We'll grab back. You've heard the chaos.

Starting point is 00:26:09 The fact that you think golf sucks, I'm worried about you. I mean, yes, that's what makes it so hard is the centimeter difference that it makes between a good shot and a bad shot. We all have those days where we, I have these a lot where I hit the fairway off the drive and then I get a triple boge without even having a penalty because I chili dip it. I scald it. It goes over the green, back over the green, miss the putt, miss the putt. Oh, I got a triple boge and I didn't even get a penalty. Hold on. So I'm, what the? I don't know. I'm trying and drink some water. Holy crap, man. I didn't know
Starting point is 00:26:53 we were getting this old on the podcast. Yeah. We might as well just smoke. But I'm going to tell you what also sucks, man. You talk about golf sucking. I'm going to tell you what we did for this weekend. We went fishing. And you would think, oh, that's so fun. It sucked. It really did kind of suck. I haven't fished in 20 years
Starting point is 00:27:13 because fishing sucks. Well, I don't mind fishing like off the dock at the lake, you know, oh, this is so fun. The kids can drop it. They can cast it. They're entertained. It's very cool. My son, Baby Box 2, got invited to a birthday party on
Starting point is 00:27:31 Saturday. And it was, hey, we hired a guy and he's going to show us where to fish on the lake to catch some fish. And I said, great. Hey, is your story starting right now? Yeah. Okay. Action. Oh,
Starting point is 00:27:47 what the flash. So we go to the lake And this guy picks us up in his boat He's like come on board, Bellas, we're going to go do some fishing And the boy's like, yeah, we're fishing We're going to catch some fish. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:28:05 And there's three kids On the boat. Your kids. No, no, no. We're at a birthday party. So it's my son, birthday boy, and another kid. So three kids. So we just.
Starting point is 00:28:17 drive out there and we're driving and we drive for like 20 minutes like when do we get a fish when are we going to fish what do you want a dingy or a yacht we're on a boat we're on a boat like a pontoon do dun dun dun dun dun don't know the words um and we get to one spot and he's like oh not seeing a lot of fish on my my my little machine let's go over here we drive across the lake and we're like all right we're the fishing bulls he goes all right i'll get i'll get him ready for gets him and he does the casting and then he sticks them in little pole holders. Was this paid for? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:56 Dang, dude. And you just sit there and watch the pole. Glad I paid for an interactive video game. And then when you get a bite, you see it moving. He's like, all right, there's something on there. And you reel it in and we take the fish off and we take a picture with the fish, throw it back. Then he casts it. he gets it all set up, he puts it in the holder, and you just stand there.
Starting point is 00:29:21 That ain't like fishing with Grandpa. With that, you get some butt crack at least. With Grandpa, you get butt crack, you get worms on your hand. A cigarette burn. You get cigarette burns. You get catfish to the head. The hook to the mouth. The hook to the mouth.
Starting point is 00:29:36 The hook in the dog. Dad waking up at 11 a.m. Saying that he wasn't even involved with the fishing. Correct. You know, and so I am just, I was a great... Pickle cart to the foot. pickle jar to the foot. Yeah, it was a lot.
Starting point is 00:29:50 Well, worm. Dad, I need a full worm. Yeah, I need a full worm. They took a bite in my worms, so this worm's no good anymore. No, no, it still works. No, no, I need a whole worm. Okay, well, we're going to go through 600 worms. This, we literally did nothing.
Starting point is 00:30:05 We absolutely did nothing. And it was a great concept, and it was cool because we did catch fish. Like, we did catch fish. But the kids, what they want to do is, want to cast it, man. They're there just to sit there and watch a pole. So the kids, I felt I got bored pretty quick because the tour guide was fishing for you. That's basically what happens. You go out with a tour guide and they do all the work and all you do is reel it in. I mean, so what are the kids doing, just playing on their iPads? No, they're just sitting there like,
Starting point is 00:30:38 oh, and they're trying to grab the pole and it's like, whoa, don't touch the pole. He's on the pull. Don't touch the pole. Oh, no, no, no, no. Leave the pole alone. It's got to be in the holder. It's got to be in the holder. And so they just literally sit there with their thumbs up their butts waiting to catch a fish. Do you think that this tour guide had kids? No. Okay. So no bedside manner. No, he was a nice guy. It was great. It was like, hey, come here, you little. And so after being out on the water, you know, it was really hot on Saturday. So being on the water for about an hour, hour and a the kids were like, can we just jump in? No, no, no way the tour guide allowed that.
Starting point is 00:31:20 Oh, yeah, he was like, no problem. He reeled in the lines and they just jumped in and swam. And that was fishing on the lake. So you basically paid a tour guide to take you out so your kids could jump in the water or they could just jump in the water from the shore. Yeah. And I think you filmed this wrong and not vertical. What are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:31:42 That's hamburger. That's how you're supposed to do it for YouTube. Oh, going YouTube. You're not talking Instagram. Bro, I just filmed an entire thing in Vegas. Don't tell me that I filmed the wrong direction. I apologize. I didn't know you were going YouTube there.
Starting point is 00:31:54 Every damn time in Vegas. I'm like, hot dog. Oh, great. Where's the hamburger? Here we go. Let me hold it sideways by myself here in Fremont where some bums about to stick something up my butthole. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:07 And so it was just an interesting concept. Like, I love the idea. Like, my kid had fun. But it was interesting. We only had two poles for three kids. So then they're fighting over whose pole is what? Well, there's only two guys. So you got to share them.
Starting point is 00:32:23 So what we do is like you'd get the pole when there was a fish on there and they'd do five reels. Handed to the next kid. Five reels. Next kid, five reels. Todd, if you paid over $100, waste of money, should have gone to the convention. I didn't pay anything. It was not my son's birthday. it was another kid's birthday
Starting point is 00:32:43 and another kid does love to fish so the dad was like oh my gosh this would be great and I think it was still great I'm not trying to crap on it I'm just saying I thought the guide would let the kids be a little more involved in the fishing it was just strange like what did you want the kids to do man
Starting point is 00:33:02 cast the thing put the boat back on the trailer and then and then baby box two is like dad where's my bobber I don't see my bobber I'm like, we're not doing Bobber, man. You know, we're just trolling. We just, you guys didn't select that on the a la carte. Well, I didn't select anything.
Starting point is 00:33:20 I didn't know how it was going to go. And so either. I didn't select catch a stick on the brochure that you had. My kid just caught a stick. Yeah, and then they had live bait, like little fishes in the little bucket on the boat. The kids, once they found those, they were obsessed. Ooh. Ooh.
Starting point is 00:33:39 Can we fish with that? Can we fish with the live bait? Can we fish with the live bait? No way the tour guide like that. He's like, yeah, but don't stick your hand in there. If you have sunscreen, it'll kill him. Okay, okay. Can we be fishing a little bit?
Starting point is 00:33:51 Can we fish with a live bait? Can we fish with libyte? They might have said, can we fish with the libyte? 162 times why we're out there. Now, listen, here are you a little interesting number, the MLB baseball schedule. Whoa. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:34:07 I didn't even do that on purpose. It's like, I don't know, a number. 82 NBA basketball schedule. Hey, I don't know, maybe like 17 NFL games. I thought you were being Scooby for a second. Freaking, everything's a number.
Starting point is 00:34:22 Number 12, Byron Scott, Orlando Magic. No, that's Chess Day and my sister's jersey number is 12. Scoopa, stop, dude. Number two, Dr. Jay, the founder of basketball. I mean. Scooba, stop. My soccer jersey was number two. Number 33, or
Starting point is 00:34:38 32, Shaquille O'Neill's number. Okay, at least He's semi-famous. Bro, he was naming guys on the bench for the magic and selecting their roulette numbers. I'm like, scuba, stop with the numbers, bro. I don't even know. Daryl Armstrong, number 12. Scooppa, what? The dude put up two points.
Starting point is 00:34:55 Hey, Brian Shaw. That's what he said, dude. You know what the crap he was talking about. Oh, my God. But the tour guide or whatever he was, like a fishing guide. I don't know what you call him. said they get a lot of bachelor's parties I bet he loves those a lot more
Starting point is 00:35:14 he goes oh my gosh he goes there's not much fishing on those what's he doing he said they he's like a lot more interactive throwing the pole into the lot he said
Starting point is 00:35:32 it's not more it's not really about catching fish it's more about just being on the lake but they sign up thinking they want a fish and then he goes about 20 minutes in they're just like you can just drive us around and he goes it's easiest money i ever make is the bachelor's parties he's like 20 minutes in no more fishing 25 minutes in they're all topless yeah he's like i love my job hey when is this one over he was like he goes what's crazy is i don't you have to put a fish
Starting point is 00:35:57 on my hook and it just goes right in dude how old was he hard age yeah he's probably about 30 i bet he kills it out there he's got his shirt off he got a fish hook on his arm bicep he goes it's just, they just, oh, can we drive the boat? He goes, bachelor's up parties. They act like they want to fish. And he goes, I'm telling you, they're just there to get, they're just there to drink. That's wild. They sign up for that.
Starting point is 00:36:21 I guess maybe to mix it up. He said, the number one thing they say is, oh, we just wanted to do something different. Like, you know, most bachelor parties are just going straight Broadway. We want to do something different. But then they hit Broadway. And then they hit Broadway. And they just swim in the lake and they drink and they, that's it. There's no real fishing.
Starting point is 00:36:39 Every once in while, he goes, there's some girls that are. really serious about fishing when they come on the Bachelorette parties, but for the most part, they're just here for their boat ride. Did you ask him how many times he's hooked up on that dinghy? No, I didn't. I should have asked that. We'll take a break. And then we're going to find out all about Circa and Circa prices right after this. You've heard the chaos. Now you can see it. Hello. My gosh. Starting point is 00:40:29 Dude, back to Vegas. I mean, the stories always leak out. It's a slow drip when it comes to Vegas. There's so much stuff that goes on there that just doesn't go on anywhere else in the world. But I went to Circa and I was curious. What does this stuff cost? Was it beautiful?
Starting point is 00:40:44 Yeah. Yeah, the sun, I'm not nitpicking. The sun has definitely hit it. So like stuff that was supposed to be bright blue is now light blue. Okay. So it just definitely looks like, boom, the sun hits that thing every day. But that sports book inside the stadium seating, pretty cool. There isn't stadium seating.
Starting point is 00:41:04 The stadium seating, there's a stadium inside in the casino. That's what I said. Oh. I said inside stadium seating in the sports book. It's kind of like. I saw it. I didn't go into it. I don't go in sports books anymore.
Starting point is 00:41:16 Okay. But I went to stadium swim. The sportsbook outside with the pools. Yes. And so you can sit, you go in, if you stay there, it's free. Really? Yeah, I went the night before and the next day. Both times tried to pay.
Starting point is 00:41:29 And they're like, no, just take a wristband. You stay here, right? It's free. Oh, dude. So lawn chairs are all free. If you want a bed, you know one of those day beds. Yeah. $500.
Starting point is 00:41:42 Oh, which is a tad more. more pricey than Jamaica. Oh, man. Jamaica might have been $75. $500. And that's just that's, but that's food and drink. So that's the minimum. Wow.
Starting point is 00:41:54 Yeah. So you're not paying really to rent it. You're paying for your food and drink, but you have to spend 500. Yeah. Okay. This is what every sports book's doing now, man. It's making it impossible for the average man to go watch a game in Vegas. And then they have the cabanas, which just think of it as if your buddy's got to
Starting point is 00:42:10 pull out back and he's got a pool house. Yeah. So there are many ones, though. Oh. You know, they're not... Yeah, they're not huge. You can fit five buddies in it. Gotcha.
Starting point is 00:42:18 Those, 500. Oh, oh, God. And those were prices during the open. I can't imagine football Sunday. He said for the U.S. or the, what's the soccer thing called? World Cup. Yeah. For God already, man.
Starting point is 00:42:37 It was massive in my life this past couple months. World Cup and for football's type stuff, the daybeds are a thousand. Oh! man oh man and the cabanas are 2,500 but I'm like 25 there's no way five buddies can spend 2,500 on food and booze I don't know how you would do it so they must just say oh that's it we tap out and they just charge them 2,500 unless they get there at 7 a.m. and they leave at 8 p.m. You eat every meal, eat every meal, drink every drink. I mean there is no way you could leave that bed.
Starting point is 00:43:16 That'd be a lot. 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. That's probably it. Those are their hours. I went there the night before the 10 p.m. crowd. Yeah. They closed the pool 30 minutes before. So maybe it's open until 10.30.
Starting point is 00:43:27 Pools closed at 10. I mean, they're pulling bodies out of that thing. You got girls throwing towels on and I don't think they had tops on. I'm up there totally sober after my flight. Yeah. And it's the people that just got slit-faced all day. Did you still have your suitcase with you? No, I dropped it off the room.
Starting point is 00:43:43 I'm trying to set the, if you're walking around the pool deck with your suitcase, you look like an idiot. And I'm like, oh, that's cool. That guy's mopping up water making sure it's not slippery. No, that was vomit. Oh, yeah. That's gross. And then they got all their slushy machines, any type of like probably your Pena Colada, but that's tropical. But Pena Colada, red drink.
Starting point is 00:44:04 They have four or five slushy machines. Wow. So they want to keep you hydrated as well as cooled down. That sounds cool. But you can tell it gets hot because all the workers have. More to the workers in a second, but they have buckets filled with water and then a fan on top of them. Ah, that was one of the gifts at the birthday party. Like there was a gift bag.
Starting point is 00:44:23 And right when we got there for the kids, it was full of candy, had their own gatorade, like squeeze water bottle with their name on it. And a fan that you put around your neck and it blows on you. Probably the worst gift ever because now my six-year-old is obsessed. Oh, wait, wait. Before we go to the store, I got to go run back in and get my fan. What? It is summer in Nashville. No, I understand, but it's just hilarious.
Starting point is 00:44:45 I'm like, dude, you don't need a fan. We're going to the grocery store. Like, we're just going to go in and get some cereal and eggs and we'll be out. Never know when the meat aisle gets hot. He's like, I got to get my fan. Okay, so he's got to unbuckle, go back in the house, run back up to his room, get the fan, come back out. All right, all right, we're ready. Dad, it's not working.
Starting point is 00:45:04 I got to go get my charger. No, no, we don't need the charger. We don't need to charge it right now. We're just going to the store. We'll be back in 10 minutes. So he now thinks we have to take the fan everywhere. I digress. The staff.
Starting point is 00:45:17 Yeah. The staff. So the staff is definitely required to wear whale tails. Oh, boy. This is not bad. And I would have to say I wasn't necessarily like looking at the staff, but I mean, they're just flying by me. This is the next day. The night before, everybody was closed up.
Starting point is 00:45:39 It's really just the crew cleaning. all the fluids off. Totally understand what you're saying. So the next day, I'm chilling. And I mean, guys, I had the open on. I had no money on it. It was semi-interesting enough. It was fine to look at. Baseball didn't start for two hours. But it was just whale tail, whale tail, whale tail. Some of the whale tails, maybe they could have done a little P90X beforehand. Oh. But I will say an interesting job requirement, do they tell them that? Hey, if you're going to be staffed here, you've got to be comfortable with a whale tail. Have to.
Starting point is 00:46:12 Because none of them had coverage. Wow. Did all of them have mountain ranges? Could you see mountain ranges? I mean, I know you were looking at the open, but did anything, you know, I mean, was it, were they nice and tan? They got to be tan. They were definitely tan. I know you guys don't want, truckers don't want an update on the dudes.
Starting point is 00:46:31 I was jealous. Get that horn? It did horn. I was jealous of the dudes. They all had the best tan because they'd been out in the sun every. day for the entire summer. Wow. Dudes are tan.
Starting point is 00:46:42 Whale tails are rocking and rolling. A couple of them should have swung by the hotel gym beforehand. All good. No worries. I would say the ones that are more attractive. Yeah. Add an attitude. Oh.
Starting point is 00:46:55 Oh, yeah. Because there's frat boys rolling in. Five deep. They got to spend 1,500. And they're giving a little attitude. She's giving it back. She's like, well, I don't know if you guys don't want it. That's how we're starting the day.
Starting point is 00:47:08 Yeah, and I bet you those frat dudes. I mean, every day, here's the thing. Every day in that job, you know you're getting hit on. Drunk, as the day goes on, everybody at the pool, you know, they're all starting to drink. Ah, you know, blah, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba. Meadow down at Aldeans. And then they're like, you know what, she's flirting with me. There's one guy in every group that thinks the waitress is flirting with her,
Starting point is 00:47:34 and hits on her, and hits on her. so she probably gets annoyed. And so she definitely was and it was, I went there, you know, I woke, walked in at like 8 a.m. So it was the early crowd. You were the early crowd, not like on your bachelor party when you said we were going to be at the pool at 8 so we could get chairs. And so my dumb idiot self rolled out of bed at 7.50, went and got in line, a mile long line to get in the pool. And Ray had to walk over to MGM Grand because he wasn't even staying there on his own bachelor party where everybody. else was staying and I got like six chairs laid towels on them spread my body across six chairs
Starting point is 00:48:14 just keeping them company and not a dang person from the bachelor party was there when they said they were going to be there they all showed up at like 9 30 10 o'clock so for like two hours I'm fighting these people off go ahead never knew that story crazy the stuff that comes out when you have a podcast the whale tail I will share one story she goes so the guys were fighting with her a little bit. And they go, what, bro? $1,500, we're just doing drinking. Like, there's no, we all are out all night. Like, we're not hungry at all. Like, my boy's pretty sick. There's no way we're getting food. Do you think we can reach $1,500 for drinks? And she's like, well, I mean, a pinia colada is 40. And then if you want a bucket of beers, that's 100. She goes, it can get there pretty
Starting point is 00:48:58 easily, especially if you're staying to the afternoon. So they're talking like this at 8 a.m. Oh, my gosh. The frat daddy's fighting back on price. And she goes, she goes, it's a a hard line. There's no discounts. It's $1,500 for a cabana. They'll all fill up, and that's your food. You're not renting the cabana. That's just your food minimum. So I can bring you all the drinks. You don't have to drink them. You're probably going to want some food later. And usually it gets pretty close to that amount. I'll ask the boys, but I mean, a couple of them are still straggling. They're not here yet. We're all pretty hungover. We went to the club last night, and my boy got kicked out. He had smelling salts, and they thought it was cocaine. Because obviously I sat right next to him because I wanted to
Starting point is 00:49:36 all the eavesdropping. And the whale tail just not having any of it. They ended up renting it though. Of course. Hey, is there any stuff we can, like anywhere we can put our stuff? There's a locker for $25 or you can just keep it in your cabana. Nobody goes in there. We have security and we're usually coming by pretty near each other. Frequently. Frequently.
Starting point is 00:49:56 That's a good word. Well, I mean, we got, my boys got Rolexes and stuff. Like, we need a locker or something. Okay, well, it'll be $25 on top of the $100. $1,500. I got to pay $25 for a locker. Well, I mean, you can set it just in your cabana and close the blind, the little shade thing. People don't go in your cabanas.
Starting point is 00:50:16 I'll be in your cabana, bringing you drinks. But guests aren't allowed to just come in your cabana. So it should be safe in there. All right. Well, I mean, my boy's got an AP audio poquette and I got a Rolex. So we're probably going to have to do a locker. These things are like $10,000 to $50,000. So these fratty's got to get a separate.
Starting point is 00:50:35 locker for their watches. I love. They're complaining about $25 at their rocking Rolex. And I am sitting there by myself just dying laughing. I probably thought I was going to rob them. But I'm just hanging out. Whale tail fighting back with some
Starting point is 00:50:51 attitude. But the the whalers, they all are wearing green. Okay. It just must have been maybe World Cup colors. Yeah. But green grass. If you I don't know the beds, but if you buy the Cabana, you got whalers bring your drinks. You're not getting them.
Starting point is 00:51:08 Wow. Otherwise, you have to walk all the way to the front of stadium swim to get your drinks. So you're really paying for the 15-100. I mean, guys, this isn't a promotion. This is not an ad. But you're paying for the whaler to bring you every drink, Bloody Mary starting with, to the mixers, to the slushies, to the beers, instead of having to walk to the front. But there you go. There's your update on stadium swim, guys. Man, sounds like a great time in Vegas. I wish I had another boy there at least to laugh at this stuff with because I mean I'm it's just I'm experiencing this stuff all solo mission I'm like I was about to be like hey bros I mean you want to add me we can split the bill a little bit more oh and then they could have come and support you at the papa shot and then I'd have a whaler for service and said every time I wanted a water I'd walk all the way to the stadium swim and they had the water cups were distinct green water cups oh embarrassing anytime you you were carrying it. It didn't look like a mixed drink. It didn't look like a T-dos. It was obvious
Starting point is 00:52:06 to the entire crowd at Stadium Swim. I was only drinking waters, going and sitting by myself in the pool about five feet away from the cabana because I was not able to afford the cabana life. How was the water? Was it warm, cool, nice? Water was cold. Oh. Yeah, and that sun
Starting point is 00:52:22 I was an hour in it and I was like, I'm baking, had to shift a little bit to the shade. Yeah, I went so early, dude, so it was still shade. Good, good. All right, you guys have a good Wednesday. We're out. man that's that's interesting and we got an email it says hey do you all still sell the coach t-shirts thanks brian yeah brian we still got them man they're 15 bucks a piece you just let me know what size you need uh we are the sore losers at gmail dot com and we'll get that mailed out right away to
Starting point is 00:52:50 you we'll get it mailed out man just let me know what you need they do uh make the pools there yeah so they're how do i say this they're like perfect level they're not like too deep not too shallow Yeah, because they want people just standing in it. Not a lot of people are swimming. It's more just standing. Correct. There was a nerd swimming at Stadium Swim. He got the wrong memo. They make the pools. How do I say this properly? They make them the right height so couples can easily kiss.
Starting point is 00:53:17 Yeah. Because as I was walking around by myself, I was like, well, that couple's making out. Oh, that couple is groping each other. Well, that couple has their tongues down each other's throats. that couple may be banging. Man. And there you are with your green cup by yourself. And they're like, there's that loser with this green cup.
Starting point is 00:53:47 You are watching the open. And then I'm watching Rory McElroy up there on the screen. Baseball didn't start for a while. They had tennis on and the golf. That's why the stuff was as cheap as it was. I understand. Yeah, there's not. It was kind of a day.
Starting point is 00:53:59 dead period. Yeah, homie told me, oh, if it's high demand, he goes, definitely goes up 1,000. I'm like, you're good. Like, what's even more high demand than football? I guess Super Bowl? Oh, Super Bowl. No, because it's too cold. Those people are.
Starting point is 00:54:11 Stadium swim is not open during the Super Bowl, but no chance. I guess if it's a massive Sunday night football or Sunday football game, I mean, you could be 3,500 for a cabana. My name's Benin. I'm not in it. My name's Paul. It's up to y'all.
