And we'll also be joined by the people who helped bring it all to life. Guestrars, collaborators, and friends, including director Jonathan Chrysall, the mayor himself, Kyle McLaughlin, legendary musician Amy Mann, and many more. Kyle is going for it here.
Starting point is 00:00:51 You fully improvised, not just words, but a song about it. Well, I thought you were all going to write a song. I remember you thinking that. Listen to Podlandia. rewatch on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, fam? I'm sports journalist Ari Chambers. Hey, what's up, y'all? I've been obsessed with Kashan Rock's boxing journey. She looks good. Her combos are swift. And the stories everyone's talking about across women's sports. Because everyone watches women's sports. Listen to everyone watches women's sports on the IHeart radio app,
Starting point is 00:01:34 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. This is Chelsea Handler from Dear Chelsea. Every week, the news gets worse. The world gets crazier. And Yamanika is here to tell whoever's responsible, you're the problem. Do you know I just found out who Sidney Sweeney was? If he got a bunch of women,
Starting point is 00:01:51 then I should have a bunch of men. Do better or do less, so I don't have to do so much. I'm Yamanika, and I'm out. Listen to You're the Problem with Yamanika on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. It's time for the good news. Tell me something good. I think I want to shift this segment just a little bit. I think I want to, if you want to tell me something good you can, but if you want to go tell me something suck, you also can.
Starting point is 00:02:21 Okay. So I'll go around and be like, you have a good or a suck. And you can share either one. I like it. We'll just experiment for a little bit. Because it's easier that way because sometimes you have good days. Sometimes you have bad days. Well, sometimes I'm going,
Starting point is 00:02:34 what did I even do yesterday? Because I think I can find something. Like, well, let me walk to my day yesterday. Okay, so, wake up early. I'm going to work. How long are we even here? I don't even know what we did yesterday. We did the show.
Starting point is 00:02:47 Thank you. That, I did. What time did I leave here yesterday? Probably around noon. Maybe a little after, because I remember the door locking. A little afternoon. Got home. the baby's got a little cough
Starting point is 00:03:04 so we've been dealing with that but I think that's getting pretty good all the day's blur I'm telling you I guess today's Thursday right Did you do any podcast stuff yesterday? Mm-hmm I did Oh yeah you had a later one
Starting point is 00:03:15 At 430 at Stella Lefty And so That was great But I just remember thinking I don't do them It's like I'm so tired And sometimes Mike knows that Like wait
Starting point is 00:03:28 Mike and I definitely Don't have to look at each other We just know how each other's feeling And I'm like, oh, this is late. And I didn't say it just in my head, and Mike's going, yeah, I feel you, dude. And he's not saying it back to me. And we're like, okay, we don't know her. And then hopefully this is even going to be good.
Starting point is 00:03:42 And I'm like, have you ever had any food? And he's like, yeah, a little bit of brought out to work. But we've not said a single word to each other. We're just going. They're thinking all this. Yeah, yeah, full, you know, telepathy. And I got to finish it. I mean, watch another episode of Widows Bay last night.
Starting point is 00:03:59 What you eat for dinner? Great question. A hamburger and fries that I ordered from Rose Pony. It was pretty good. I think they're putting a little butter on their bun though. I think so I just shove all those pills on my mouth beforehand. Like lactate. Because I'm not sure.
Starting point is 00:04:19 Yeah. I'm not sure if they are. I got a suspicion that they are. And so I shoved a bunch of lactate in. I guess my positive is my stomach didn't hurt last night. That's good. And then we watched Widows Bay. Sell Lefty was great.
Starting point is 00:04:31 She was really good. age so fun her dad started a group on really yeah that's crazy her dad's worth five billion dollars yeah but the internet too is like putting that when they show a video sometimes I've seen it on TikTok where they're like look at this billionaire's daughter making music you seen those nope didn't even know that was the case yeah I had no idea that yeah until yesterday pre right before it I guess because our phone looks at everything we do and I'd been like listening to a little bit of music and so it just feels feeds me like in my algorithm, Stella Lefty stuff.
Starting point is 00:05:07 And it was like, Stella Lefty's dead. Start a Groupon. It's worth $5 billion. Wow. Yeah. Crazy. And yeah, her boyfriend is Vincent Mason, who is awesome. Like his music is my favorite.
Starting point is 00:05:21 Probably for what I listen to, maybe my favorite type of country music. But she was great. We talked about that later. But if I had to pick one last night, see, I'd struggle. I can't remember the day yesterday. Did you sleep well? No, God, no. No, because the baby's been kind of sick, so my wife is super anxious about it.
Starting point is 00:05:41 So, and it... Who knows? Tell me something good. I did not get sick on my stomach last night after eating a burger and fries. Boom. You found it. Yeah, but I'm not going to do a suck because it didn't suck. I didn't remember much about yesterday.
Starting point is 00:05:57 I didn't work out yesterday because I did heavy leg day on Tuesday, and my legs hurt so bad. even today. I'm never just not going to be sore from doing leg day. It doesn't matter how many times I do it. I just miserable when I woke up this morning. Okay, that's mine. I don't know if that's tell me something kind of good. Kind of medium.
Starting point is 00:06:18 Yeah. What do you have? Mine's a suck. Okay. I yelled at my son and I've already apologized, but still I've played it over in my head like 500 times since last night when it happened. So it just sucks as a parent. that's not how I want to be.
Starting point is 00:06:33 Was he frustrating? Absolutely. Did he need a little kick in the pants? Yeah. But I didn't have to. It's almost like I felt out of control. Like I pulled over my car. That's the best.
Starting point is 00:06:49 Yeah. Oh, what happened in the car? Yeah. I mean, it felt in control. Like, there's been times with my hormones where I felt out of lack. But this, I knew what I was doing, but it was almost like I defaulted to the habit of like, okay, I've got to pull over and really. like focus and I will see I recovered quickly so that's good I just don't want to respond in that way
Starting point is 00:07:10 I want to have more control because I want him to have control I just was so as parents sometimes you just feel so disrespected with like you're their little their little carpool driver and then they don't respect your time and then they take forever and then they're slow and it's late and it's nighttime we want to get home and yeah I was picking up at church so I probably should have had a little more control, but I just, yeah, but it's, it's been piling on because this is a thing. And then he, and then he's like, well, then I guess his default is, okay, like, I'm just going to give examples. These aren't exact, right? But it'll be like, if, if he's not getting his shoes on in time for cross country or this or that, he'd be like, well, then I'm just not going to do a cross country
Starting point is 00:07:55 anymore. Oh, I do that all the day. Or, or like, he really wants to get his driver's license. and then we're like, well, we need more, let's work on X, Y, Z. And he was like, if I have to, if I have to do X, Y, Z, then fine. I don't want to drive. My wife calls me all or nothing, because I do that crap. Right. And then this was, then last night it was, well, then you just don't even have to take me to Wednesday night church anymore.
Starting point is 00:08:17 And I, I mean, when that came out of his mouth, I pulled over, because I'd already taken him, wanted to take him, love that he wants to go, picked him up. It was just the disrespect of like, I'm here to get you and you're not coming to the car. You're lingering with your friends and it's nighttime and we need to go. And so I pull over and I'm like, and now you're not going to go to church anymore. And now you're hurting cross country. And now you don't want to drive. And I'm like, yelling all this stuff.
Starting point is 00:08:47 I was like, I'm so over it. I'm quitting everything. You know? And all or nothing's kind of funny. No, no, it's not. It's actually not. It's funny to you guys. I do it all the time and I shouldn't.
Starting point is 00:08:59 I'm not saying like it's hilarious for me to do it, but it's to hear you talk about it because again, my wife calls me all or nothing. It's exhausting. I'll just give you an example of something that is not significant at all. So she's been holding the baby all day and her shoulder is tight.
Starting point is 00:09:17 She's like, we rub my shoulder. And I'm like, yeah, and I'm rubbing it. She's like, okay, we rub it. I'm like, you know what? Do you not like it? Okay, then no. If you don't like how I'm doing it, There you go.
Starting point is 00:09:29 That's how you do it. No, that's right. And then I do it like for me stuff. I'm stupid. And I don't know if we're just, I don't know what that's from. I don't know. I mean, you and. Is it trauma-based at all?
Starting point is 00:09:43 You and my son both have abandonment attachment issues. It's got to be trauma-based because I deal with it too with one of my boys. And it is maddening. And really the response should just be, hey, thanks for people. picking me up. I'll work on getting to the car. Like, you're right. I should have gotten to the car faster. But instead, it's, well, you don't even have to take me to church anymore.
Starting point is 00:10:07 I'm just not going to go. I think of how inadequate I am in that way. And there will be times where if we're run a little behind, not really since the baby because we don't go anywhere right now. But if, you know, if she's 15 or 20 minutes behind schedule, I'm like, ah, let's just not even go. Oh, man. Yeah, that's.
Starting point is 00:10:27 And, yeah. And she's like, it doesn't have to be all or nothing. Like, we could still go. What's the use? We're not going to, it's, I do it a lot. I don't think about it. I'm shocked right now. You do it with her just being like, hey, can you go a little bit more to the right?
Starting point is 00:10:41 That's where it hurts in my shoulder. And you're like, okay, fine, I'm just not even going to do it. If you don't like it, if you don't like it, then okay, how do you like it? No, she's trying to guide you. I know. She's guiding you. I know. I'm not standing up for me.
Starting point is 00:10:52 I'm telling you how ridiculous it is. And that I do it so much, she calls me all or nothing. She says that's something funny last night. We were, I think, now, Billy's only four months old, so we don't know if she's right or left-handed at all. I'm really rooting for left-handed because Caitlin's family is so athletic that if she's left-handed and she likes sports, ticket, whatever you're going to play.
Starting point is 00:11:16 And so I'm really rooting for her to be left-handed. And so she's doing stuff with the right hand a little more. It's really disappointing me. Tie behind her back. And so I'm like, I want her to be left-handed. And my wife's like, well, you have to be left-handed. And my wife's like, well, you act like being left-handed is so hard. I'm like, it is, but I wasn't a great athlete.
Starting point is 00:11:31 I was a good athlete that played smart, so I made me better. But I wasn't a great athlete. If you're a great athlete, you can be left-handed, like, that's amazing. It's like, yeah, you always complain about it. Because I have a theory that you were right-handed when you started up, but you just wanted something to complain about, so you made yourself left-handed. Oh, gosh. That's funny.
Starting point is 00:11:46 And I was like, what do you mean? She goes, I don't know. You wanted to give me some little adversity when you were young. So you made yourself left-handed. And I was like, yeah, that's pretty funny. She goes, I bet you're right-out. it probably worked for a while. You probably poked it.
Starting point is 00:11:59 So it doesn't work anymore. She goes, you need a little adversity. It's got 8% vision. I wonder what happened there. So she's convinced it's a joke. I know. Yeah. It's funny.
Starting point is 00:12:08 They're all or nothing, man, I do that all. Well, you have the awareness, though. Like right now you're very aware you do it. Yeah, but it was kind of eureka a little bit when you were talking about Stevenson. Well, I know. But when did you become aware? Because he's not aware. I'll call him out on it.
Starting point is 00:12:21 And now we're in denial. We even do that. And that's when. Oh, I'm not in denial. Right. But he's like, what? I don't, he's like, that's not, that's, that's not what I'm doing. And I don't think he, I do.
Starting point is 00:12:32 Well, he's younger. He's younger. So I, I do think he struggles with grasping that that's his default and that's what he goes to. So I don't think he's, he's lying. He just is not putting two and two together that that is his default. I don't know that it was my, that I knew that to my wife. I think it was her. Oh, so it took you till you were 40?
Starting point is 00:12:52 Yeah, because I would just not do it. I didn't have anybody to report to or. share with or it was like okay if it's not gonna be this way i don't want to do i'm out it's a control thing i'm sure a bit but there are three things all or nothing these are my things well if we don't like it that way let's just not do it at all number one number two i'm already under the covers i don't want to get up that drives are crazy like can you go get me a yeah if it's anything and i'm like i could have but now i'm all the way under the covers and i don't like getting up when i'm all the way under the covers that's my thing and she's
Starting point is 00:13:20 like that's everybody's thing i'm like no no but especially me i hate getting up when i'm all the way under the covers. But you'll get up. Yeah, but I don't like it. It's my thing. Okay. And then number three is I hate plugging in things behind the nightstand. Hated.
Starting point is 00:13:38 Drives me insane. Like we have a baby monitor and I left the charger in the kitchen last night. And she's like, hey, don't forget to get the charger and plug it back in because we'll need it at some point. And I'm like, okay, I'll bring it. But I don't want to plug it in behind the nightstand. What's so hard? She's like, why not? That's my thing.
Starting point is 00:13:53 I don't like plugging stuff in behind the nightstand because then you got to move it. Then you got to plug it in, you got to move it back, and it's got to be the right angle. That's my thing. I don't like that. Those are my things. Imagine being married to me. What the crap. Honestly, and you got lunchbox over here being like, yeah, yeah, that's what's up.
Starting point is 00:14:08 He's agreeing with that. He's agreeing with all of it. You're saying. I'm sorry that happened. Well, I'm just, I'm thankful I've recovered, and I apologize. I'm sure it will take a little bit of time. I just, as parents, you don't want to get to that point. Get to that point.
Starting point is 00:14:25 And I've been so, I mean, there was this season where I yelled a lot because a lot of things were just so frustrating and I didn't have the tools. And now I have the tools and I have the awareness. And I'm like, gosh, darn it, you know. But oh, well, I think recovery. You have awareness of it like we're saying. I have awareness. Recovery and owning it and apologizing is the best thing because likely Stevenson will grow up and lose it sometimes. And if he is modeled awareness and recovery, then.
Starting point is 00:14:52 Can't fix it if you're not aware of it. Right. So I think that's what I said. Yeah. Right. She's pointing at me. Starting point is 00:15:15 Bell, connection is everything. What's up, fam? I'm sports journalist Ari Chambers. Hey, what's up, y'all? It's your girl, Sam J. And we're the host of everyone watches women's sports. A new podcast from Together and I Heart Women's Sports. Because let's be real. Women's sports is giving us way too much to talk about these days. So Kelsey Finler, she became the first female solo roer to go from California to Hawaii.
Starting point is 00:15:39 My first thought is like, what's up with the snacks? Like, what are we eating? The highlights, the rivalries, the breakout stars, the moments that take over your entire timeline. And the conversations that start during the game and somehow keep going all week. Every week, we're breaking down the biggest stories across women's sports. Naomi Osaka showing out She beat Sabalinka
Starting point is 00:15:59 Shout out to you Naomi You get the palm Naomi! You get the palm for that Because we're not just interested in what happened We're interested in why everyone's talking about it
Starting point is 00:16:07 Because everyone watches women's sports Listen to everyone watches women's sports On the IHeart Radio app Apple podcast Or wherever you get your podcast Hey Portlandia fans Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen Here
Starting point is 00:16:21 You know us or rather you know them Tony and Candace Nina and Lance Spike and yes the chicken We've played a lot of iconic characters over the years, but today we're showing up as ourselves to tell you about Podlandia, AEO Rewatch, our brand new podcast. Each week, we'll revisit an episode of Portlandia from the very beginning, breaking down the sketches, exploring the backstories of our most iconic characters, revisiting the Portland locations you know and love, and opening up about our creative process. How did any of this get made? Why do we think that was a good idea? We're ready to talk about it. And we'll also be joined by the people who helped bring it all to life.
Starting point is 00:16:57 guest stars, collaborators, and friends, including director Jonathan Chrysall, the mayor himself, Kyle McLaughlin, legendary musician Amy Mann, and many more. Kyle is going for it here. You fully improvised, not just words, but a song, a melody. Well, I thought he was going to write. I thought you're all going to write a song. I remember you thinking that. Listen to Podlandia.
Starting point is 00:17:18 Ayo rewatch on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Jake Brennan. And on the Disgraceland podcast, I explore the wild lives of rock stars and unbelievable true crime stories from music history. These are the stories you haven't heard, the kind you'll end up telling someone else. Like the time Paul McCartney spent in one of the world's most notorious prisons. Imagine that. You're Paul McCartney. It's 1980.
Starting point is 00:17:50 You're an ex-beetle. And you're doing time in one of Japan's worst prisons right there alongside Yakuza gangst and for a ridiculous charge. Or the bizarre crime, Lady Gaga is accused of. Who is the artist Lady Gaga as being accused of doing the unthinkable to after allegedly stealing her music in style to become famous?
Starting point is 00:18:15 And what about that time, Blondie's Debbie Harry escaped a serial killer? The man who had given her that ride she barely escaped from was Ted Bundy. Listen to Discrasetland on the Eyeheart Art Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Eddie, tell me some good. Tell me something to suck.
Starting point is 00:18:34 What do you got? I got a good, I think, but I need y'all's help with it. So my son, he's 12 years old, he's played football, he plays basketball. That's kind of his number one sport. But he quit football. He's not going to do it. So he started talking about cross country, and I'm like, well, you know what, Amy, Stevenson runs cross country.
Starting point is 00:18:51 So he ran two miles. I clocked him, and it was 13 minutes. for two miles. Is that good? How old is he? Yeah, but yeah, the answer is yes anyway, especially if that's like his first running. It's his first time. Six and a half minute miles cross country? Yeah. Yeah. So how long is a cross country race? If you're in middle school, it's two miles. If you're in high school, it's three miles. Okay, he's in middle school. But that's just a baseline to start from. Yeah. Without any knowledge or training of it whatsoever. Because his cousin is really, really good. Like down in Texas, he breaks records. Like really, really good. And I think
Starting point is 00:19:25 every time they go down there for the summer, they're like, wow, cross-country. Like, I want to try that, but they never do it. And now my son's like, I want to give this shot. Does he like running in general? No, nobody likes running. But there's lunchbox does. Mike D does. Mike runs 20 miles a weekend on a single run. Yeah, I love running.
Starting point is 00:19:41 What do you like about it? You clear your mind. You don't think about anything when you're running. It's peaceful. I'm there, but I'm not there. You know, I think about, I hate this, I hate this, I hate this, I hate this, I hate this. I want to stop. I want to stop.
Starting point is 00:19:51 Mike's Instagram story pops up and he's throwing his hat at his phone and he's like, just finish 25 miles. That's crazy. On a Saturday. How long does that take? It takes about three hours. Ray, you still running? Yeah, I'm at 0.5.
Starting point is 00:20:05 I just run the neighborhood and I'm out, so like four minutes. Did you see him running in Vegas? Yes, that's what it reminded me of me. Yeah, I had the time there, so I did three miles. I was kind of crazy. I was motivated by the lights and the gambling and people still being awake. But in my neighborhood, the max I can do is 0.5 because I hate it so bad. And it's just one loop.
Starting point is 00:20:24 That's how I know it's exactly that. You know what? It's better than nothing. Yeah. 98% of people aren't doing 0.5. And the times I do it, I'm like, I think the exact same thing. Oh, that guy's sitting on his patio. He's not running.
Starting point is 00:20:35 Look at me. Point 5, baby. Do you use that as a warm up for a workout? No, no. That's my workout, the run. You know what? 98% of people aren't doing that. Yep.
Starting point is 00:20:46 Yep. And then my wife motivated her. So she started doing it. Oh, she's 0.5 in it? No, she's now walking while she works. So she does six miles walking. Like she's on the phone walking? On the computer and phone, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:59 Oh, wow. She have one of those walking mats? Yep. I have one of those, but it's dangerous, man. If you look up. Me too, same. I just fall over. I have a treadmill.
Starting point is 00:21:07 And if I'm, like, dick around on my phone, or I have a TV in there and it's not right in the middle. I'm just like, tumble over to the side. I try doing it when I'm watching sports, and I fall at least three times. Yeah, it's more dangerous than it is, like, beneficial. And we're not going slow. Like, I have it at a full speed.
Starting point is 00:21:24 Oh, well, that's why. If I'm doing other things, you can, the walking pad or the treadmill, if you're working, you walk slow. It's just that your legs are moving while you're, you don't have to go. Power walk. 4.0, yeah. Then why do it if you're not going to do it hard? Right.
Starting point is 00:21:39 It's better than sitting. I want to sweat. If I'm doing it, I want to sweat. I hear you. Keep it up, Ray. Yeah, thank you. Lunchbox. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:51 Last night had a soccer game. and we won our first game of the season. We are now one and three on the year. Just felt good to get that monkey off our back, get the win. So that's my telling me something good. Are you guys not good? No, it's not that we're not good. We've lost a couple nail biters, you know, three, two, four two,
Starting point is 00:22:10 give up a goal in the last minute, you know. And so this one just felt good to get over the hump and win one. And yeah, so that was my telling me something good. Are you getting to play a lot? Yeah, last night I had to, I did have to, designate myself to goalie second half because I couldn't really run. I was like, ah, guys, I'm... That's cool?
Starting point is 00:22:30 Yeah, whatever's in hurting here. Can't do it. And so... Why do you keep playing if it's hurt? Well, I understand loving playing. No, no, I stopped for a few months, but it didn't change anything. Like, it didn't do anything different. Like, I didn't... Then you haven't found the right thing to do is what I would say back to that.
Starting point is 00:22:48 Because it can be fixed. You just haven't found yet how to fix it. Correct. And something is wrong and something will fix it eventually. Been to about 6,000 doctors at this point. You still don't have to let me see it, though. Like, you're not letting us see it to see if we have. And Bobby's a doctor.
Starting point is 00:23:04 And Bobby's a doctor. Right. But it's not always the left guy. It's, you know, right here in the midsection. Now it's the right guy? No, no. I'm saying it's right here in the midsection. Like, it's just like.
Starting point is 00:23:14 That's where it's starting. Yes. And it's just like, oh my gosh. Like last night, the left side right there at the belt line was just so tight. and just like felt weird and I just couldn't sprint. It was kind of like, ah, it was like a struggle. Have you done the non-doctor things like cryo? And I'm not saying that it'll help, but whenever something's hard on me, I try everything.
Starting point is 00:23:36 Like, have you done cry at all? Is that, though, a cold thing? No, I haven't done that. In one session won't heal it. But obviously something is very inflamed inside of you. Something is wrong. Or even strained, right? It could be even worse and inflamed.
Starting point is 00:23:48 Cryo's great. Or, like, red light therapy bed. Not just the red light. You can get like a mask, like the red light therapy bed. Could you put the mask on your junk? No, because that's not as strong. The red light's not the same. You could go to those.
Starting point is 00:24:04 I had to look that up. I don't even know what that is. Just Google red light therapy. Looks like a tanning bed, but it's red light. Like Bobo, our friend, has a place called Eritay, and he has those beds there. And again, it's not a fix. But there are certain things you can do to possibly promote the heat. healing. Yeah, like, but none of the doctors have said that. Like, hey, man, maybe you should try a red light.
Starting point is 00:24:27 Like, no doctor has said that. So, I mean, maybe that's why I've never thought about it or heard about it. But, I mean, I just can't figure it out. And it is so frustrating. I thought the Titans doctor figured out. He's working on me, but right now it's not working. Even specific peptides, when I tore my shoulder, that's what I did, shot myself up. How many sessions are you into whatever you're doing with? Three. You've done three? Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:24:53 And that's all he required, right? Yeah. That's what he thought. So we got another appointment in 30 days, see how it is. But if you're playing soccer, should you be playing soccer? No, he tells me to. He says, look, man, we are three sessions in. You should be able to let it rip.
Starting point is 00:25:05 Okay, but have you told him you're still in pain then? Yeah. And he says still... You're letting it rip, but it still hurts. Yeah. Yeah. Yep, yep, yep, yep. Do you think the doctor would treat Cam Ward like this, like a star Titans player?
Starting point is 00:25:19 I think they might go in on someone like this. like let's fix this today no like they might if it's something that is constant it might go in to look at it he's a surgeon like cut in oh cut in a look and see if lunchbox let him cut yeah dude just let him go I'll let someone cut like if they if they think that's what I will let him cut can we start with just letting Bobby watch or look just look just he wants to look at it I just want to see no no I'm telling you right now it's normal size it's normal size it's fine right now okay it's right here like right at the belt line. It's just like, gosh. So is this a tell me something good or suck for you?
Starting point is 00:25:58 Well, they won, but then it had a lot of questions. Yes, it was, it turned into a, can you play goalie though effectively with a hurt stomach? I mean, really the team we played wasn't that threatening. I did give up one goal and one shot. I had one, I faced one shot and I gave up a goal. And the guy was coming. I said, this is my time to shine out loud. And then he kicked it right by me. I was like, oh, my bad. Do you guys do penalty kicks in your league? Yeah. That's fine. That seems hard. Are you not worried that it's going to hit your nut while you're goaling? I mean, it could hit my...
Starting point is 00:26:30 But that's just normal getting racked. I mean, that happens. Yeah. What if you rack yourself? And it solves it? You don't know because you haven't tried that. No, no, I have. My kids punched me there all the time. It's not like I have.
Starting point is 00:26:42 Right, Eddie? I mean, you know... My seven-year-old does that. Accidental hands, they're right at the right height and they just... Oh! It's funny to them for some reason. Oh. Frustrating. Very frustrating. You take a year off.
Starting point is 00:26:57 No, I can't take a year off. I mean, you could. I mean, I could, but like I said, I took two, two and a half months off and nothing, it didn't change it. Like, it didn't like. Like you have shin splints of the testicles. What would you do if you had shin splints? I don't know. I've never had them. With all you're running, you've never, never had them.
Starting point is 00:27:14 Oh, my God. How lucky are you? Yeah, never had them. People tell me how, like, painful they are, but I never experienced that pain. I've had them and I don't even run. Like I have little seasons of where I run to as part of workouts and I've had them. All right, well, sorry, dude. Yeah, thanks, man. Congrats on your win, though.
Starting point is 00:27:31 Yeah, thanks, guys. Ray, all your boys from basketball hitting you up? I saw one post and tag me in a Instagram story yesterday. The three big dogs, Caputo, Nikki Buckets, and then Murph, all of them. Yeah, they DM me and they're all following the show. And they all listen to the show. So they knew of you. Murph the champ?
Starting point is 00:27:50 Yeah, they knew you. They just didn't know me. And so then they finally put it together. But yeah, they DM me. It was pretty cool. And they said, hey, man, mad respect. You showed up and, like, you showed out. So to get those messages from those legends was pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:28:03 I actually got excited about some DMs. I was like, that's sometimes why you go into the DMs because there's good stuff like that. Papa shop Murph, the champ. Oh, and he even said. He's like, yep, collared shirt guy drinking the Bud Lights. The common man's champion, Murph? Like, who shows up to a widely known. is a basketball tournament.
Starting point is 00:28:21 You're going to be playing basketball for two straight hours. He's in a collared shirt and golf shorts. I'm like Murf. That's who does. Freaking Murf. Murph has all my respect. And he shows up and wins the thing and had a bucket of Bud Lights the entire time. He's up against like a 19-year-old doing double-hand throws and Murph is just solid.
Starting point is 00:28:38 One. Boom. Not missing. Boom. Okay. There you go. That's what's all about. It's time for the good news.
Starting point is 00:28:46 With Bobby. Tell me something good. Last week, a Washington man used his own car to safely stop an out-of-control SUV after seeing it weave across I-5 near Tacoma. Paul recognized something was wrong because the driver appeared to be having a medical emergency and the car was going all over the place. And there was a kid in the car. So he positioned his car alongside the SUV and just kind of guided it, pushed it into the concrete barrier slowly until both vehicles came to a stop. Wow. He then put the SUV in park, helped the kid get out.
Starting point is 00:29:20 stayed with a driver, called, first responders came. Man, that's like, I'll figure what they call those. When cops get in front, they do those tactical maneuvers. But they say something, and they have the way to, like, pull people over. Oh, they say, what do they say? They say it out of their loudspeople? It's like a code? They're like, yeah, it's something.
Starting point is 00:29:39 It's called, like, tactical maneuver. It's not called tactical maneuver. I haven't been a police officer long, but they say, say something like. And you just pit maneuver. Yeah, it's like a pit. Oh, that's what they say. Pit maneuver. Pit maneuver.
Starting point is 00:29:51 Pit maneuver. Sounds like, yeah, pig manure. But like the cops don't care about their car. I know, this guy, you got to commit because you're damaging your car. Yeah. So one, he hurt his car, but two, it worked. Amazing. And it didn't kill it because you're putting your own life at risk whenever you're pushing your car up against another car.
Starting point is 00:30:11 Yeah. So the successful pit maneuver from Paul Jackson. That's from Sunny Skies. That is a great story. That is what it's all about. So a seven-year-old girl was having a birthday party, and everyone she invited, they had to cancel. So nobody was coming. Everyone.
Starting point is 00:30:30 Yeah. So her mom, Melanie, shared their situation on social media. More than 150 people responded within minutes in several families headed to the party at a local pizza restaurant. Many of the families arrived with birthday gifts, and one young boy even brought one of his own toys for Chloe to have. all the kids started playing together and it was just a really special moment where a community definitely rallied 150 people. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:30:58 They don't have enough cake first of all, so I think. Two, everyone canceled? Bad weather. Why did everyone cancel? I don't have the details on that. It just says every invited guest had to cancel. And who knows? Maybe they only invited a few people. You know, the story
Starting point is 00:31:14 I've told, I rented out the old gym in Mountain Pine when I was a kid. 25 bucks. It was a really old basketball gym they had in the 50s. And I invited, they had roller skates in there already, where we were going to play broom hockey and basketball, and nobody came. And you paid the 25 bucks, like, out of your pocket. Yeah, because I ran
Starting point is 00:31:31 at the gym. Yeah. And nobody came. And you know who didn't show up? That town. Well, they didn't know about it. We didn't have social media then. I know. Should have the town crier go out and do some crying. Good story. I'm glad everybody showed up and made her feel special. That is what it's all about.
