This isn't a normal podcast. Everything here is spontaneous, real and genuine, just honest conversations about what it means to be alive. I'm Javier El Chicharito Hernandez and listen to Learning to Be Human on IHard Radio, Apple Podcasts, or whatever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:02:14 It's time for the good news. Tell me something good. Around the room, Amy. So I've been trying to figure out what I'm going to do when we have vacation this summer. And I think I nailed it down yesterday and I'm feeling really good about it.
Starting point is 00:02:38 It's not Paris. Yeah, what is it? It's not Paris. Say something good. though. Well, what feels good is that I could easily see that that time frame sneaking up on me and then I just go to Colorado to see my sister, which would still be, that is great. But I need to see more of the world. Okay. Why are you talking down about all this? Like you said, okay, it's not Paris. No, this is good. What is it that's good? Because I know that I have on,
Starting point is 00:03:06 I've been manifesting Paris and I thought you'd be like, why aren't you going? This is good. I might do that and tell me something, suck, but no. But also, you can go to Paris anytime. If this doesn't work, not anytime. Sure, you can go the next year. Go the next year. That's what I keep saying. And then I texted my sister yesterday when I was in the midst of trying to figure this out. And I'm like, should we go on the Alaskan cruise finally? Because that's what mom wanted to do before our mom passed away. And we were trying to take my mom. And then the doctor was like, she cannot be on a boat for nine days or seven days or however long it is. So we took her to South Padre. It was very different.
Starting point is 00:03:41 Very different. Very different. And. Lovely, but very different. Even the 45-minute flight from Austin to Baudre, by the time she landed, she was feeling sick. And she spent most of her time on the porch feeling sick. So I'm like, man, I'm really glad we didn't do the Alaskan cruise and go rogue on the doctor and just be like, you don't know what you're talking about. Because that was pretty terrible.
Starting point is 00:04:05 But I'm reading this book right now, Winter Garden. And in it, some of the characters are, they just got on an Alaskan cruise and it's two daughters and a mom. And I'm like, what? So I text my sister. And I'm like, should this be what we're doing? And then Ray, Ray, you know how you have that cruise guy? You! So he DM'd me at some point when we got back from our cruise.
Starting point is 00:04:32 And he was like, hey, you're ready for that Alaskan cruise? So what does that mean, Ray? Like, does he, will he hook people up? I wouldn't want to be hooked up. I would just use him as a resource to help you get all the good things that you're going to pay for. Oh. Have you looked how much Alaskan cruises are? No.
Starting point is 00:04:48 I'm just telling you, I'm not going to go anywhere on a boat or an airplane where I'm not actually paying for. I don't want that free because I feel like I'm not going to be safe. Oh. Or I'm going to owe somebody. What if I just on the boat had to be like, oh, Alaskan Cruise tag? You can do whatever you want. I'm just saying if it's something like, if I'm going to go eat at a restaurant, that's different. That's in town.
Starting point is 00:05:10 I can leave. I'm going to be trapped somewhere by boat, water, sea, air. I want to make sure that they're looking out for me and it's not a free thing. Okay. But that's me. Well, I just thought it would be cool if that worked out. If I call my sister and I'm like, guess what? We got a hook up all. We get to go do this what we wanted to do with mom.
Starting point is 00:05:29 And my sister might be more inclined to be like, oh. Are you asking ready to hook you up with a free Alaskan cruise to his guy? No, the guy messaged me. And I haven't replied. So I was asking what's the deal with him? He's a cruise guy. And a friend of Ray's? Ray, what does he do?
Starting point is 00:05:45 Yeah, he's just a travel agent. And really the great thing with that is they'll give you a pretty sizable discount. And if there's ever an issue, you're with a travel agent, it's fully refunded. And they can usually convert it to another cruise or something like that. Whereas if you just booked it on your own, sometimes you're screwed. Okay. Yeah, I mean, because I will pay. You're right, Bobby.
Starting point is 00:06:02 I'll pay. But maybe there's a, maybe there's a, you know, you get a free tour of. Free Sunset Wall. or something. I don't know. A free sunrise walk? What was Amy doing? Yeah, sunrise walk.
Starting point is 00:06:15 Sunrise walks on the cruise. So this is where I was yesterday. I've got to figure out my vacation. My sister, she never replied about the Alaskan cruise. What's the good in this? The good is I think I have a plan and it's in Arizona. Okay. Is it booked?
Starting point is 00:06:34 Oh, Sedona? Nope. Tucson. You in Vrabble? No. Wait. Oh, it's that place. Where was he?
Starting point is 00:06:41 And Sedona. Oh, okay. I don't know where the place was. This is Tucson. Okay. It would be different. So my friend from college, you know Lauren. She was my sorority sister, Kappa.
Starting point is 00:06:54 You know her, right? Yeah. Is that pertinent to the story? Kind of. Okay. Because she started working with this place and it's really awesome. And she hit me up a while ago and she was like, I would love for you to go.
Starting point is 00:07:08 And I thought, well, maybe now, is the time that I go do this experience and it's very relaxing. That's great. You took us on a wild drive here. We got in the car and we went, I'm not going to Paris. Okay. A mom, before she died, wanted to just go on Alaska and Cruz. Probably not doing that. Well, probably not going to do that.
Starting point is 00:07:27 But you're going to get a free one from Ray's guy? No, I was curious. It's not that it has to be free. I was curious when he texted, when he DM'd me about, are you ready to go on Alaska and Cruise now? I don't know what that means. So I was saying, is that like a hookup? Or he, yeah, to Ray's point, I guess he's a travel agent so he can plan it to make sure you have the best experience and you go on the best cruise because I don't know.
Starting point is 00:07:49 I would like guidance. I've never done it before. But you're not even doing it this time because you're going to Arizona. Well, my sister never replied. And I don't have the opery one. Let's start over. The opery one? That's bad.
Starting point is 00:07:59 The offrey one I thought was good. What did Lauren had to do with anything? Well, Lauren. Just do the good and then you can do all the other stuff. It's like I'm just, the Lauren came in a picture of like me. Tell me something good. I think I know where I'm going for vacation.
Starting point is 00:08:14 Oh yeah, what's up? Arizona. Oh, that's cool. Right? Yeah. It should be cool. Who you're going with? This place called Canyon Ranch and it's like they have like hiking and yoga and.
Starting point is 00:08:26 That sounds awesome. Meditation. Yeah, you're going to have fun there. Amy. That's awesome. I called Kat who co-hosts my podcast with me and she, to see if she had free time during that. because I would be maybe going by myself.
Starting point is 00:08:38 And she was like, oh my gosh, I think I can go during that time. That could be fun. Wow. That sounds awesome. We might go and she was like, oh, that sounds like the, because she's pregnant. And she was like, ooh, something relaxing, like, and I'm pregnant. It's like, we're doing all these crazy activities or having a, everything's on the grounds and there's a nice pool.
Starting point is 00:08:56 So now Kat and I might do that. And it sort of could be like a podcast retreat. We could. I don't work. This is vacation. We don't have to work. But like, we do need to do some planning because she. is pregnant. We do need to figure out our schedule for when she takes maternity leave.
Starting point is 00:09:09 Question. That sounds like a fun vacation. Have you considered doing like an Alaskan cruise at some point? Because I know before your mom died, that was something that you guys were going to do together. Yeah. So I have funny you say that because I just in the book that I was reading yesterday, they are embarking on an Alaskan cruise. And it's a mom and two daughters. And that was supposed to be my mom and me and my sister. And ever since my mom died 12 years ago, we've thought about going. haven't gone. That's something to put on the list to do. Definitely.
Starting point is 00:09:39 Ray's got a guy too. Ray. Yeah. Didn't you have a guy? Yeah, and he can get you good insurance. And if anything ever goes down, it would be refunded and then also some kickbacks. Okay. You should DM him or see if he's ever DM me here.
Starting point is 00:09:52 Okay. I'll check that out. What I don't want you to give up on, though, is Paris. Because I still think at some point. I think I should do that. You don't have to do it right now. You got plenty of time. I know you've been kicking the can, but that's such a far trip.
Starting point is 00:10:04 That's a kick the can trip anyway. it'll be perfect at some point. But that's really exciting about your vacation. Tucson sounds great, Amy. Okay. All right. See how we got there? See?
Starting point is 00:10:14 No, do you see how we got to be? Wait, wait. Can I ask a question? Yes, lunchmogs. Ask away. What did Lauren have to do with the story? I thought you said you were going with Lauren from college. No.
Starting point is 00:10:27 She just started working for Canyon Ranch. So that came into my mind because she texted me about going. and she was like, if you ever tried this out, it's an amazing experience. And so I thought, okay. And they have one on the East Coast, and I did the East Coast one with my boyfriend, but I've never done the Tucson one, which apparently is the most desirable one. And it's like amazing. So it popped my head, like if I'm looking for something and look, we're down to the wire here.
Starting point is 00:10:57 So. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. W-A-I-T. Why am I talking? Yes, I just needed, I got confused.
Starting point is 00:11:09 I thought you were going to worry and then you were going to confuse you. No, it's just that I'm trying to brainstorm ideas of where to go. And I think it should be domestic because I'm a little too late for international. I feel like plane tickets would be crazy. And then that gets me thinking about how I'm not using my credit card points effectively because I follow all these people on Instagram. They're like flying first class with a bed. And they're like, you can't look at people on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:11:31 No, no, no. They're like, I'm a normal person. I paid $56. They start with I'm a normal person. Yeah, because you think people with that, it's like they paid all this money, but they're like, no, I have a normal wage. I make normal money and I paid $59 for this bed to Europe. And they're like, because I used credit card points. And I'm like, am I doing credit card points all wrong?
Starting point is 00:11:56 Like, sure, my flight to Tucson might be free on Southwest because of my points. But no, no, no, I want a free, I want a $59 flight to Europe with a bed. That's probably a lot of points. That's a lot of points. I can get points. Thank you for your story. I think it's good. I still don't have an idea of what we're doing for vacation because we don't know what we can do.
Starting point is 00:12:15 Probably nothing. With the baby? Yeah, probably nothing. We may go to Fayette or something. I don't know. Yeah, it is hard with the newborn. Yeah. So I don't have one.
Starting point is 00:12:25 So that's good for you. You know something I saw yesterday that was really weird? I was looking on our YouTube page, which I hope people go over to our YouTube and subscribe. It's at Bobby Bone's show. That's the show page. and I saw our personal Tell Me Something Good clip. And if you pull up the screen cap of it, it says, tell me something good.
Starting point is 00:12:41 And there's always a sub, which is like an indicator of what we're going to talk about. And today it could be like, tell me something good. Amy has crazy vacation plans where it leads you into going, oh, this is going to be good. Or tell me something good. Launchbox won 100 bucks in the lottery. And then, you know, that's what we're going to talk about. But it's always something positive.
Starting point is 00:12:58 Yesterday, I'm not kidding. It said, tell me something good. Bobby realizes baby Billy will never meet his mom. That's what it said? Oh, yeah, that was the... That was the... That's not one... That was a vulnerability.
Starting point is 00:13:09 But that's not tell me something good. And that's not good. That was me just matching Amy's vulnerable moment. I was like, that's not telling me something good. Huh. It was the weird... I want to let Mike pull that one up. But I read that and was like, that is not...
Starting point is 00:13:26 Yeah, that's like a wom-womp. That's like if AI wrote it. If it just listened to it and wrote one. Yeah. Hey, I just followed what Mike did. I get sent titles and I just plug it in. Uh-oh. Read it.
Starting point is 00:13:40 Got awkward in there. Read it. Bobby on his mom never getting to meet baby Billy. That's the tell me something good. That was the title for the podcast yesterday. So I follow what Mike does. But a little bit. If Mike jumped off a cliff.
Starting point is 00:13:53 Because that's a, yes, that's, I didn't know who did it. So podcast labeled weird. I didn't see that one. I never look at the podcast. I do look at the videos. If Mike jumped off a cliff, would you? No, but also he has a better beat on maybe something you want than maybe I don't understand. Fair enough.
Starting point is 00:14:10 I'm just kind of following and maybe I don't quite know all the information. So I'm just... Fair. That's an absolutely fair answer. I just wondered. I just thought it was bizarre when I saw it. Tell me something good. Bobby's mom died and will never meet her grandkid.
Starting point is 00:14:23 I will say in that one. Not a lot of people had something good in that tell me something good. Well, I did. Amy did. It was spontaneously go drop in on your friends and like that's a cool moment. But then also... It's definitely not Bobby never meet his grandmother. What was Amy's again?
Starting point is 00:14:37 Mine was that I, my son had to go to church and I decided to pop in at my friend's house. Because I think I was looking at it as we don't do that enough. Like pop in on our friends. How do you put that one in title? That was tough. I don't remember everybody. Oh, I don't remember. Me either.
Starting point is 00:14:54 Oh, I do. I know, Eddie's. Oh, it's my son's award. Yes. Oh, Eddie's son wins a big award. It doesn't matter. The one that was not good was, Bobby's baby will never meet its grandmother.
Starting point is 00:15:05 But you only ended up saying that because I was saying when I popped in on my friend, she's pregnant and was showing me her stroller. And then I was sad, I'm never going to have a stroller because I never had a baby. Amy reflects on her infertility. That's today's. Okay. Tell me something good. Eddie.
Starting point is 00:15:25 Who's next? Yeah. Let's see if this could be a title. Oh, I went to my last, my last. Ever kindergarten graduation. My last... Do you know how many of these I've been to? That's kind of sad.
Starting point is 00:15:38 Nah, I'm happy. Like, we've been to so many of these because a lot of my kids have repeated grades just because we hold them back for educational reasons, whatever. But so they've, like, they've redone kindergarten twice.
Starting point is 00:15:53 So I've probably done six, seven, seven kindergarten graduations. We're done. But why would they graduate kindergarten if they didn't get to graduate kindergarten? Oh, they just decided to re-enroll them again. They redo it. But don't you decide that before graduation?
Starting point is 00:16:08 Yeah, well, yeah, they're like, are they going to do kindergarten again? And you're like, yeah, let's do kindergarten again. But then they do graduation anyway? Yes. Well, yeah, because they're with their friends. But they didn't graduate that year. They graduated that year. No, they don't, no, they didn't graduate that year. They did. They're just, I'm making them go again. It's elective. I know, but they didn't graduate. Even if you're holding them back. Yeah, but you're going to tell the kindergartner, you don't get to go to your. They don't even know about it. They're five. Oh, they know. They know. They know. They know. They know. No, and you can't say...
Starting point is 00:16:34 Why am I in the same grade? I just graduated. No, you just say, this is what everybody is. You know what's funny about that, though? Like, when you do two graduations like that, they always say, what do you want to be when you grow up? They always have different answers. Happy Pride Months, Toronto.

There was no anything inside those eyes. They turned black. It scared the hell out of me. That was your first murder case? Yes, sir. Fear to say this was the biggest case of your career? Yes, sir. Rape a murder for a child.
Starting point is 00:17:43 Just as bad as it gets. I would think so. Evil, wake up. I'm the one that saw the murder take place by Crevent and DePippo. Anthony DePippo showed no signs of remorse, appearing unfazed after being sentenced to the maximum. I said I'm not guilty. I'll take it to the grief.

Together, we're going to have meaningful conversations with the world's most fascinating people, like when actress Olivia Munn shared how she overcame fierce health challenges. I've gone through breast cancer and then helped my mother through breast cancer,
Starting point is 00:18:46 and that was more difficult. There's a lot of people who understand postpartner depression. I was not prepared for postpartum anxiety. Listen to Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Because their new star is Javier Tichorino Hernandez. Everyone sees me as a football player, but before anything else, I'm human. Every single day, I'm still learning how to live with problems, mistakes, relationships, emotions. ever since I was born.
Starting point is 00:19:19 And I still have so many questions. Where do we come from? What happens after death? How do you deal with cancellation? Cristiano or Messi? Do aliens exist? What is love? Real Madrid or Varsa?
Starting point is 00:19:29 From every day and ordinary to the deep and extraordinary. This isn't a normal podcast. Everything here is spontaneous, real and genuine. This podcast is like a deep talk with your closest friends, where vulnerability comes out. Conspiracy theories end up on the table and goals and lessons are shared. All in this life has an order
Starting point is 00:19:46 Perfect and everything I'm going to Go ahead. We are here to connect The Chicharito Oh Javier El Mendes and together with IHard Radio
Starting point is 00:19:55 We're going to make the ordinary Extraordinary. Stay close. It's a carac. Listen to learning to be human on IHard Radio, Apple Podcasts
Starting point is 00:20:05 or wherever you get your podcast. It's like if that's what you said the first time You should say that the second time. No, because every year it could change It could change with a month.
Starting point is 00:20:13 But year too, they're showing the other kids where to sit. They're like leading it. No, no, no, no, guys. I've done this before over here. Lunchbox, tell me something good. Yeah, last night, one of the neighbors, I guess she went shopping and she made some pasta with some cheese in the middle of it and some spinach. And she bought too many ingredients. So she had an extra pan. So dinner for us. She dropped it by the house. That's nice. Yeah, it's really good too. And the kids devoured it. So lunchbox gets dinner for free? Oh, are we? Oh, we can figure out the time.
Starting point is 00:20:46 at the end. It's all we have to do now. I'm just trying to think. I want to just speak in headlines. That would really help. Morgan? I finally figured out my dog's dress for the wedding. What? So her and my cat are my something blue, and I have them dressed in blue outfits, but I had to get Remy like a customized dress, and it came from Ukraine.
Starting point is 00:21:12 But the first one that arrived was like for a lab, and Rumi's like 20, So then I had to send the dress back to Ukraine. And it was the whole thing because the package almost didn't get a go because of the war. But it made it back and she was able to adjust it. And now it has arrived. And it is perfectly customized to her little body. And she looks adorable. That's cute.
Starting point is 00:21:35 A lot of odd elements in that story. Yeah, the dog's going to wear a dress. She ordered from Ukraine. And there's a war going on. Maybe it's just Friday, you know. Could be. Everybody's feeling a little odd. What?
Starting point is 00:21:49 I feel like everything's been great. Yeah. With everybody. Yeah. Last night, I had a long day yesterday. So it did the whole show. I went and I did a four-hour shoot for pilot. Shoot some content for them.
Starting point is 00:22:03 It was excellent. Pilot the gas stations. Yes. What's the other pilot? Flying planes. No, that's not a company. So I'm just curious. I was just clarifying.
Starting point is 00:22:14 Got it. Glad you did. Thank you. So I'll shoot for pilot the gas stations. Instead of, yeah, it could be for pilot. Pilot lights. Sully. Pilot Sully.
Starting point is 00:22:25 Pilot magazine. And a lot of times if I'm doing that, and I shot with two different artists, I shot with Thelma and James, and we did like a driving thing and then we go back to the gas station. And that shot with Larry Fleet, we go back to the gas station. And they have really good food there. It's kind of one of their things, kind of like European gas stations, where they have really good food at European gas stations when you're driving through.
Starting point is 00:22:50 So pilot, that's something they're really focusing on. They brought their corporate chef in that does. And so we're talking with them about the food. And usually if I do this and have to eat something over and over again, I get really tired of it. But they had A plus chicken tenders. So I had to shoot it like six times. Chicken tenders were awesome.
Starting point is 00:23:07 No dairy. The sauce has like honey mustard. It's like a honey mustard type sauce. So that was good. Drove home after, not home, drove to the Bobbycast Studio. and interviewed Gavin Rostale, the lead singer of Bush. That's awesome,
Starting point is 00:23:20 which was a band that I loved growing up. We got invited to the show tonight. I can't go. Really? Yeah, I can't go. Yeah, I know you couldn't. But he was really nice. Right, Mike?
Starting point is 00:23:32 He was awesome. Like super cool. And you never know about like those either guys that are not Nashville. They come from L.A. Or Europe, London. Yeah. He's L.A. now. Because sometimes L.A. guys, they feel like,
Starting point is 00:23:46 because that LA culture, they have to present themselves as something bigger than they are. Always. As matter how big you are, you've got to present yourself something bigger. Nashville is the opposite. No matter how big you are, you have to present yourself as something smaller so that you seem nice and relatable. And he was really nice. And that'll be a while before it comes out. But we had a really good time.
Starting point is 00:24:06 And so I had an extremely long day where I was just exhausted at the end of the day. But everything just kind of worked out really well that kind of kept me up. So I was grateful for that at the end of the day. Nice. because it started really early and I didn't get home until 630 or 7 and then I had to go right to baby until like 9.30. I did sleep hard last night though. But Gavin Ross tell us really nice.
Starting point is 00:24:26 That's my tell me something good. Not that I was worried, but this is what happens to. I've kind of gained the system a little bit. Built these studios, not my house studios, not the ones we work at for the radio show. Bought a couple buildings, built them out for the Netflix studio, for sports studio. So super nice. I'm super excited and proud of them, all my own money. And when you come in, there is a specific waiting area like a lobby.
Starting point is 00:24:55 And I own the building. So it's like an Arkansas old football picture, but it's like a ticket from the 1960s that's blown up. There's a picture of me in a theater, the Little Rock Theater, and it's a sold-out show, and it's like me from behind in the crowd. It's one of my favorite pictures. There's like the million-dollar show signs. and people would come in and just assume I'm like this,
Starting point is 00:25:21 that don't know me, assume I'm like this wildly famous stand-up comedian. And so then I have some other plaques, I said, well, I just should capitalize in it. So, yeah, I toured for four or five years doing stand-up pretty regularly, but I never got good. I got okay to pretty good, but I never got good. But I have all these sold-out plaques, like 30 sold-out theater shows in a row. So I've put a couple of those up in that room,
Starting point is 00:25:42 because now it's basically the museum of me. there's a big frame picture of when I got in the Radio Hall of Fame. So like Gavin Rostale comes in, doesn't know who I am, obviously, because he's Gavin Rostale, he's from London, he's from the 90s, he's Bush. It does not collide with our world in any way. By seeing all this, he thinks I'm this wildly famous stand-up comedian. So during the interview he's like, you know what it's like, you're a massively famous comedian.
Starting point is 00:26:07 I'm telling you. So people that don't know me to see this, and now they think I'm something that I'm really not. It's so funny. It's so funny. And I didn't plan on that happening, but I started to notice that with people who did not know me or what I did. They just were told,
Starting point is 00:26:22 hey, this podcast is big, we should go do it. But what they're collecting in that room with their gathering is that I'm this wildly successful comedian, and they bring it in and they're like, you get it right. You even notice that, Mike?
Starting point is 00:26:33 Yeah. It's so funny. It's always interesting, like what they gravitate towards from your career. And then he went full on in the comedy. Full on. Dude thought I was Chris Rock. That's awesome.
Starting point is 00:26:44 And so I wasn't initially the plan, but now there's enough stuff in there that you can kind of pick your own adventure on what you think I was good at, which I was just kind of medium and a lot of stuff. But it's kind of funny that the lobby now tells people that don't know me a story that's not 100% accurate. Yeah. Should we just Photoshop some pictures of you with like world leaders? Me and Gandhi.
Starting point is 00:27:08 It's me and Gandhi. You went to the moon? And that wasn't the initial idea of putting that stuff up. I just didn't have anything else to put up. Like, it's like my building. And so now, to me, that's hilarious when people come in and have no idea and they think that's really what it is. So Gavin Rostell, really cool guy. That's mine.
Starting point is 00:27:30 What's the headline from this? You want to hear my two options? Yeah, go ahead. I have Bobby has awesome experience with celebrity or Amy has crazy vacation plans. How about? Can you merge the two? Yeah, Amy's crazy vacay plans. Oh, you did vacay too to say characters.
Starting point is 00:27:56 Amy's crazy vacay plans slash Bobby meets awesome 90s celebrity. Because I think 90s is a little quirky element that maybe would interest people more than just celebrity. Will that fit? Yeah. Okay. Cool. Not like, tell me something good. Eddie's dad died.
Starting point is 00:28:19 But I never said that. I know, but... All right, there you go. That's what it's all about. It's time for the good news. With Bobby. Tell me something good. 22 years ago, this Colorado Springs firefighter helped deliver a baby in an emergency situation.
Starting point is 00:28:39 22 years ago. Well, she's graduating college. And he kept up with her and went to the graduation. That's awesome. That's pretty crazy. 2004 got an emergency call. He went in, helped deliver her at the family's home.
Starting point is 00:28:51 The mom, after they got out of the hospital, brought the newborn at the fire station to thank him. They stayed connected. Graduation comes, and he's there. That's cool. It's amazing. All that's wild. Just getting called in to deliver a baby.
Starting point is 00:29:04 And you're not a doctor, but you have the skills because you're a firefighter. Yeah, you go to somebody's house. Just how wet it is. The birth? Yeah. I saw it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:15 They start pulling out trash bags. You're like, oh, this is a carrot top show or something. I was going to make a Gallagher reference, but nobody was going to get that. Gallagher? Mm-hmm. No, don't do that. Thank you for not doing that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:27 You ever see the guy with the big... Oh, I know. The watermelons? Sledgehammer on the watermelons? That's not Thor? Well, Thor has a hammer, but Gallagher was the comedian that had the sledgehammer and hit the watermelon. Oh, yeah. And the entire audience would get soaked by the...
Starting point is 00:29:41 No? That's why I didn't do that. Well, now we know. Now we know. Scoo, you know Gallagher? Oh, my God. Oh my God, yeah. He even sold specials on TV. Yeah. Advertised Sunday nights.
Starting point is 00:29:48 Like Gallagher and he'd be like, all he did was just smashed watermelons. He was before us, but they would show it on like Nick at Night and stuff. He had wacky hair. He was like bald with like the hair along the sides. Yeah, I had a Gallagher. Oh, I remember that guy. Yeah. He wore a suit. Did he wear a suit?
Starting point is 00:30:03 They wore a wacky 80s clothes. Like pink shirts and stuff. I do remember that guy. Anyway, the firefighter. Great job, man. Alan Kent. That's cool. Shout out Alan Kent and Gallagher. I'm not even sure if Gallagher's alive.
Starting point is 00:30:13 But I'd shout out Alan Kent, who is alive. Gallagher. That is what it's all about. It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. Now this just shows that little acts of kindness add up and can be really powerful.
Starting point is 00:30:29 This woman, Juliet, Birkleville in Las Vegas, she's a substitute teacher, a mother of 10, a grandmother of 8. So I imagine she doesn't have a lot of free time, but she has launched a campaign called Cards of Kindness. And what she does is she starts just mailing out cards and notes to friends
Starting point is 00:30:45 and family. Well, that grew through social media and requests from people across the country. So then she started personalizing message of support and positivity. And now so many people have joined in and Cards of Kindness is spreading all over. That's when you trademarked that brand. Cards of Kindness? Cards of Kindness. You sell packs of cards of kindness. Not a bad idea. But then you donate the money. Of course, of course. Yeah, to buy more cards. So this is just a nice handwriting handcard campaign, right? Yeah, it's just something that she thought of as a way that she could spread kindness across the country and it's working. It's actually spreading.
Starting point is 00:31:23 And so it's just encouragement of writing someone else a thoughtful little note. That's one thing I wish I did more of is write nice notes or even thank you cards. Really bad at handwriting in general. And I think that's my excuse because it's not a real excuse. Yeah, I mean, it doesn't have to be long though. I think it could. I know. I know. It's not a real excuse.
Starting point is 00:31:44 Can you just write thank you, Bobby? Or does it have to be a little more than that? I'd rather not get a note. It's like if somebody gives me a card for something, a birthday card, and they just write, thanks. Mike. Oh, my dad. I'm like, I didn't even want the card. Like, you could have just said thanks for all that.
Starting point is 00:32:00 My dad used to just find the perfect card at the store and then he would underline the keywords and then sign his name. That was his love language, though, but you knew that about him. I know, but he did it to, my sister I were talking about it the other day. We were like, oh, we could be like, dad and just get a card and underline it. What were the words like love? He would do it to us as the kids, but also we would find him like to his wife and stuff, a card on the counter underlined. And he wouldn't even sign his full name.
Starting point is 00:32:23 He just signed C. Oh, man. For Cliff. That a boy. Did he have a hard time being vulnerable? Yes. Very. Taught.
Starting point is 00:32:32 That was taught to him. I guess model. I mean, I don't know. He lost his dad when he was only a month old. So he never knew his dad and his mom died when he was 19. And he was the youngest of a lot of kids. So I think he had to be strong. He just had to be strong.
Starting point is 00:32:44 He just had to roll up that way. Dang. So, like, he was only sibling left at the house when he was 18 or 19 when his mom died. All the other ones were already off. So I think he carried a lot and just, like, learned to shut off some things. So he didn't have to really feel, I guess. Did you ever say, Dad, write it along or note? No, of course.
Starting point is 00:33:03 It's not something I really even thought about until after he was dead. And then my sister were like, huh, that's interesting how he used to do that. But you're right. That was his way. I mean, we kind of laugh about it now, but gosh, he probably. probably didn't have another way. That's the first thing I thought of when you said that is that's not him avoiding. It's him not knowing how to do it.
Starting point is 00:33:21 And that was his best way to. I'm sure he showed you in other ways. Yeah. They loved you? Yeah. I think I know that he loved me. I think I would have just appreciated more time or. Love languages didn't match.
Starting point is 00:33:34 I know. I'd be like, well, paid for your college. Massive love language from him. Yeah. Providing. Yeah. No, he provided. even probably when I didn't maybe wasn't the easiest for him depending on where we were in the roller coaster of finances
