On November 6th, I'm the cat in the hat.
Let's get it started.
You know the hat.
I am a entertainment specialist.
Now meet the cat.
With clients today, you have to do more to impress them.
These aren't your father's kids.
My father has other kids.
You go on long business trips?
Oh, no.
Bill Hater is.
Cat?
Cat.
Cat in the hat.
You have gone too far.
You say toot fart?
I said too far.
Tute fart.
Too far.
I heard tut fart again.
The Cat and the Hat, only in theaters November 6th.
How do you know that Claude won't become manipulative?
This is a constant worry.
And you can actually catch the model thinking,
I think X is actually true, but I'm going to tell the user why.
I'm Walter Isaacson.
On my new podcast, The Builders,
I'm going inside the minds of the people shaping our future.
Listen to The Builders starting October 13th on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcast,

I'm Hamza.
And I'm Martin.
And we're the host of Out of Character.
The best podcast in the world.
It's really funny and a good time.
Really?
Yeah, yeah.
I think statistics just came back and we're one of the funniest two guys with mics.
And that's pretty hard to beat right now.
But it's true, actually.
Why should people listen to us?
Tell them.
Well, we're trendy.
We're funny.
We're topical.
You get all your news here.
Not, you know, the facts, but maybe our takes on it and everything in between.
So listen out of character on the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or
wherever you get your podcast.
It's all just a joke. What is the value of these women?
I'm Bridget Armstrong, back with season two of the podcast, Curse of Miss America.
We're talking to participants, whistleblowers, and people who say Miss America didn't live up to their promises.
He looks and he goes, you don't look like you suffered an eating disorder.
I never received scholarship money to pay for my student loans.
Maybe this is the meta question for the podcast.
What is Miss America at this point?
Listen to the Curse of Miss America on the IHeart Radio.
app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.
Icons you love.
People, you need to know.
I'm Diana Flores on my podcast, Born to Become,
gets revealed their true selves and who they still want to become.
We've sort of broken the mold.
We're not trying to be quiet.
I love that.
I'm going to give you like the real deal.
Wow, I didn't know all of that.
A playbook for your life and career, presented by Geico.

It's time for the good news.
Tell me something good.
That's crazy is I take allergy medicine in the morning, most mornings, if I don't forget.
And then I come and I just battle losing my voice every day because it drives me out so much.
And so then I bet your voice okay?
Did I say that and it made you?
It just makes you, no, I'm fine.
But then it made me want to clear my throat.
Like a yawn?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You see someone yawn, you want to ya on.
So I battle it, and then I battle peeing.
Mm-hmm.
And so it's, what's the use?
Because you're drinking so much water trying to get you.
Yeah.
It's good.
I should pee.
You know, I've thought of taking my medicine at a different time.
I don't know if that helps, but, like, sometimes taking my allergy medicine the day before, like at seven, because it's 24 hours, right?
Is yours 24 hours?
Yeah, they just make that stuff off.
Well, it tells, like, the directions on the box.
You know me, I am believing boxes.
You're like, I'll take four.
There's no universal rule for everyone, but I hear you.
Go ahead.
Yeah, so I take it, like, if I take it at 7 o'clock last night, it doesn't affect me as much in the morning.
But if I take it that morning, it kind of does.
If I take it in the morning, though, it does help me clear out to talk.
Yeah.
But it dries me out.
Anyway, so if my voice sounds a little dry today, that's what's up.
Tell me something good.
I will go first.
My friend that moved away, that I was like, my only friend that I've ever made that's not work or music.
related like i finally make a friend and then he leaves he was he was back we played pickleball
yesterday for a few hours went a little too hard a body just doesn't react well to
moving around like that i wouldn't say moving but i would say impact it doesn't recover
doesn't react well it's not as agile it used to be it's pretty agile well so so what's the
problem yeah what do you say in the impact of my joints like when i'm running like my ankle
skulls hurt the next day, my knees hurt.
Yeah.
Like the impact is not good for me.
So, but it was great.
It was the first time that I've just,
it felt like I just relaxed and did something fun.
And I don't ever do that.
And it felt like that.
It was good.
That's good.
So I had something really bad that happened yesterday, too, but I'm not going to put it here.
Why?
Will you do tell me something that suck?
Balance it out a little bit.
Yeah.
I'll save it.
I don't want to sour the mood.
Well, when are you going to share it?
I never know with me.
It could come up at any point.
It's like sometimes when you guys are telling me a story,
you're like, oh, you can use this for the show,
and then I don't use it.
And then two and a half months later,
I just expect you to know that I'm going to bring it up.
And I don't tell you.
Yeah, and you're like, say, Amy, what happened?
And I'm like, I don't know.
So that thing that happened at the restaurant,
and you're like, you know, two and a half months ago,
people think I warm you guys up to what we're going to talk about.
Never.
Yeah.
But I do unfairly sometimes hold on to things
and just think you know what's in my mind.
That's good awareness that you have there.
At least you're aware.
I didn't know you were aware.
Of course I'm aware.
Well, I know you.
My awareness is 100%.
I know you are aware.
But, I mean, thank you for recognizing that, like, we're not, you know, stupid.
We just...
I don't think you're stupid.
That's not.
I think we're all...
All of us are pretty stupid in little areas.
Yeah.
But I don't think any of you are stupid.
Overall.
Yeah.
Of course not.
No, no.
No, no chance at all.
To think that.
Yeah, it's pretty stupid to think that.
Exactly.
You idiot.
You idiot.
Okay, so that was mine.
You, Amy?
My son is...
running right now.
So I'm waiting.
Don't pick him up.
Yeah, no.
Well, I guess it'll be soon.
I just texted him.
I just sent in all caps, good luck.
Keep me posted on how you do because this is regional.
So this will define like what's going to happen.
Like state is next, I guess.
So if he qualifies.
It's like regional.
And so his dad has been, he had to go to Africa for works.
He's been out of the country and he just got back last night and was able.
So his dad's able to be there with him.
Because one of us tries to be there.
in person.
That's a heck of a work trip.
Africa.
Sometimes if I have to go to Vegas, that's a long work trip.
Right. I know.
He's like, his dad had to go over to Kenya for work.
Yeah.
Well, I guess I'm just so used to him traveling for our entire marriage.
He was gone.
But he was able to be there this morning, which is great because we try to make sure one of us can be there or both.
Now, if he does make it to state, probably both going to need to be there.
But I don't know what's going to happen because, again, he's a freshman running varsity.
So I have no idea if he'll qualify for state.
If he doesn't, still great.
Then season's over after today.
It's still great because he got to run and have an experience.
And not about, oh, life is full of experiences.
But next year when he does it again,
he'll understand what it's like to get there when it starts,
when it's over, what he needs to do,
what the environment is like.
That's so valuable.
So I hope he does great, but I think it's just great that he's doing it
because this experience is going to help him next year.
Yeah.
And then we'll, yeah.
Will he text you and tell you how he did?
I'm sure.
And then they've got to drive back.
Like, it's not super far away, but it is probably a little over an hour.
Because the next state's in Memphis.
How far is that?
Why didn't you go?
Two and a half hours.
Why didn't you go?
Because his dad was able to be there.
Okay, but if it's state, though, like you said, you'll both go.
If it's state, we'll both go.
And now his dad actually was supposed to be in North Carolina at that time, but he's like, I'll try to come.
I'll probably just go straight.
He's going to do a work trip in Mars.
No, just North Carolina this time.
But he was like, I'll probably.
probably just go from North Carolina straight to Memphis, but that would be next week.
So we'll cross that bridge when we get there.
Let me rephrase my question because I know why you weren't there because you said that.
I'm saying, you know you can go.
I know that.
And I would, I don't want to admit, I knew if he made it to state, it would be very important
for me to be there.
And I don't, I don't want to, if his dad could be there today and he has more flexibility,
he has his own company.
Like he doesn't have, I mean, of course he has other people relying on him, but you know
what I mean. It's a little more flexible. I know that you would allow us to go. If anything is
anything. But then that would be two weeks in a row. But you're still, you can go if you want to go.
So when I said, why didn't you go? It's not, why didn't you go? But it's like you know you can go.
Thank you. Yeah. And I appreciate that. And I want to, I don't want to take advantage of that
generosity. But you can go to anything ever. If there's something important in anybody's life,
It does not matter what it is.
You go do it.
That's generally the rule of this show.
I am very aware of the rule because I have been the recipient of that kindness like multiple times.
So I just sort of, it feels better to me if I bounce it out.
Like I would rather, I don't want to do it two weeks in a row.
But if I can do it next week if he makes it, that would be the important one to me.
Great.
And for him, he didn't like, I think as long as his dad can be there today, great.
Okay.
If his dad was like, I'm stuck in digibouti.
or something, wherever he is.
There's Djibouti, great place.
I was stuck in Djibouti this morning before I came to work,
in bathroom.
Yeah, stomach issues.
Right.
I might have to be like, Bobby shoot.
Ben wasn't able to get back.
Like, I got to go.
You got to go to Djibouti.
Well, no, I'd have just to go to like Hermitage or whatever.
But like really, like, why is it on a, what is it?
Well, they're missing school.
Thursday at like, you know, 9 a.m.
Whatever.
Like, dude, it's getting so hard to make all of these games, practices,
tournaments because, like, they,
do it at all times of days, all days
of the weeks. Yeah, I don't know how some parents do it.
I think only regional's the state, though. Lunchbox, when you ran
track, did you guys ever run during school? Never. It was
only on Saturdays. Saturdays. We can do that.
But that's probably normal. Meath. Did you ever run state?
Yep. Was it on Saturday?
Saturday. Also, it's weird to compare us. Or Friday's
Saturday. I mean, Friday afternoon.
Like, sometimes, like the coaches. Maybe that's what they do in Texas.
Also, I guess we have to remember. It's been a long time. It's been in high school.
Yeah, you mean like 30 years.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. What are we saying?
Well, just sometimes coaches are like, we have practice at 4 o'clock
I'm like, luckily, I can do that.
But, like, how do people get off of work to take their kids to a practice at 4 o'clock?
It's hard.
I don't know the answer to that.
They can't.
So a lot of kids miss.
So when I hear Amy talk about this, I'm like, dang, like, it's a crazy time to have a meet.
At least I don't have normal season meets at, you know, 11 a.m.
Yeah, those are on a, like what?
I was just in Huntsville on a Saturday for that meet.
I don't know what that was called.
Well, he texts you and let you know how he did, let us know.
I'll keep proposing.
Eddie.
So my son got home from school yesterday, my little one,
and he said that he got student of the day,
which is like he's never gotten student of the day.
So it's like an award.
I don't think it's a daily award,
but if the teacher sees that you...
Student of the day is not a daily award?
I don't think it's...
They don't have to give it away.
Like they're not necessarily won every single day.
But if you have an exceptional day,
if you don't get in trouble, you get good,
whatever, your work's good.
You get student of the...
the day and he's never gotten it in the history of him going to school like ever he's not a
troublemaker he just likes to have fun you know so he's kind of like a disruptor and so when he came
home he's like dad dad i got a student of the day we made a huge deal we're like dude that's amazing
let's go what do you want he's like a big dr pepper so he went to mcdonald's and got him a big
doctor pepper that's what he wanted that's cool yeah we were all like it's what led to him getting the
award did you ask him like why
why yesterday?
What did he do?
Or what did he not do that he normally does?
That's a good question.
I didn't ask him.
Because I don't even think he knows, really.
Like, I think he was just kind of like,
oh, there's another day, but I got the award.
But I know that the award is given to, like,
someone who has an exceptional day.
Sometimes, like, if you help other students and the teacher sees that,
like, oh, that's a candidate right there.
Any chance he got the award because,
not because of what he did do, but because of what he didn't do.
I think it's mostly a,
what he didn't do.
Yes.
Which is still what he did do,
which is maybe show restraint at times
whenever he thought,
I could have some fun here
and decided he'd do the responsible thing.
It's funny you call it restraint
because that's kind of what we've
kind of been telling him.
Like, hey, you have to restrain yourself
from doing the things that you think
that you should be doing when it's not the time to do it.
That's exactly the word that we use
all the time, like restrain yourself
because he kind of has the, like,
just what do you call that?
When you just,
it's not really good self-control.
Yeah, like a self-control maybe.
Like if he wants to punch someone, he'll just punch someone.
Oh, yeah.
His prefrontal cortex isn't fully developed.
Executive function.
That's probably what you guys say.
You just forgot that.
He just forgot those terms.
I'm just kidding.
I'm just thinking that up.
That's exciting.
Yeah, so that was a great day.
We were very excited about that.
Lunchbox.
On Monday, my middle kid came home from school without his sweatshirts.
Like, Dad, I lost my sweatshirt.
I was like, okay, just, you know, it's probably in your classroom,
check tomorrow.
And he couldn't find it.
And we drove up to school yesterday.
And he had left it on the playground.
We found it on the playground.
So we don't have to buy a new sweatshirt because we were going to look on the playground.
If it wasn't there, then it's probably gone.
You left it somewhere.
Someone took it.
But it was just sitting there on the playground.
He goes, I didn't think about looking on the playground.
So got a sweatshirt back.
So save me a little bit of money.
We had the same experience with Eddie at my bachelor party.
Wallet.
I just wallet in a park.
And I was like, no way it's going to be there.
So we called the Uber.
Remember we called the Uber?
We couldn't get a whole the Uber driver.
I didn't.
You did.
We're trying to fly out.
And we need to leave face.
And it's like, can't find my wallet.
Dude, I happened to just sit on this park bench to, like, call my wife, and that's where it fell out of my pocket.
I was wearing these sweatpants.
And it fell out.
And it was crazy.
You were wearing sweatpants downtown is also the crazy thing.
Dude, I don't think we plan on going downtown.
But still, you had to leave the house.
We were literally like, hey, you want to go downtown?
Let's go.
Hey, you want to wake Bobby up?
No, no, don't wake Bobby up.
No, I don't want to go down there.
Was that your kid's favorite sweater?
No, it's just his only sweatshirt.
It's a hoodie.
Is that a bear?
Is it a bear's one?
No, it's his school.
Like they have, for fundraiser, they sell sweatshirts.
And so that's why we got him.
And that's his sweatshirt.
He wears it every day.
Do you keep that bear sweatshirt in your locker here?
Yep.
Did you hear what he said?
His son wears his sweatshirt every day.
Do you know why?
Like his pops?
Because his parents do it.
No, only when it, now that it's gotten a little chilly out.
Like, he didn't wear it like in the beginning of year because it wasn't cold.
Yeah. We don't think in the summer you're making him wear a sweatshirt.
Yeah.
That'd be a little bit.
of torture. Yeah, but I mean, he has one sweatshirt, so what's he going to do?
Ever think about buying him a second one? Probably not. Why not? They grow so fast that he'll grow
out of it. Waste of money. Right. Hmm, interesting. Maybe two, though, wouldn't be a bad idea.
I don't want to spend your money. One works. It does. If it works, then it works. But two doesn't
sound completely unhealthy. Maybe a second one. What if you get some mustard on it?
You wash it.
Sticking the washing machine, boom, all right, there you go.
Do you ever do laundry at your house?
What do you mean, do I ever do it?
Do you do it?
I wash my own clothes.
You do?
Yeah.
All of your own clothes.
All of them.
Do you wash the kids?
No.
But you do all your own.
Yeah.
You and your wife don't throw you dirty clothes in the same spot?
No.
You throw yours in the bathtub?
Well, I mean, if we do, we separate them when you're, like when you're getting your clothes to
wash, you take your own clothes and you wash them.
I thought she had adopted the whole bathtub thing with you, though.
No, she has what I'm saying.
They separate the mess.
out of the back time. I pick them out. I don't pick her
clothes up. So it's kind of
like your bank accounts. Separate.
Yeah. I guess you could say it that way.
I mean, if I was married to
him, I don't know that I want my
clothes in the wash. Mixed in.
With his clothes.
I mean, she really should be doing mine,
but she doesn't. Who washes your
kids? She does.
Why? Do you pay her for that?
What do you mean? Why? Why does your answer?
Why does she wash the kids?
Because she's at home. She can wash them.
She got time.
Got it.
Not an unfair answer.
Yeah.
It's just a wondering.
It's just they divide everything so, everything so specific in how they do it.
So I didn't know how the chores are divided.
What about with all the time she has at home?
Why doesn't she wash your clothes?
Exactly.
Oh, that's great question.
Have you asked her that?
That's why I say she should really do my clothes, but she doesn't.
I don't really know.
I've never really brought it up.
I've never really asked her.
it's just kind of how we fell into it, I guess, or how we, I don't know what you call it, fell into it, that routine you got.
Do you do everything in cold water?
No, you do warm water, right?
For what?
Well, it just depends.
Are you separating colors?
Are you doing it the right way?
Throw it all in a once.
So you get something and then it shrinks, then it won't shrink again?
I get it.
I don't know.
If that's how it works, yeah.
I have no idea.
I just throw it in and wash it and dry it.
You don't mess with the knobs?
Nope.
Not at all.
So you don't know if it's cold or hot or anything.
No, whatever.
It's on warm whenever you turn it on.
Like you just hit boom and it says.
You just go to normal.
No.
Like a normal cycle.
No, there is no.
It's a push button, man.
You push the thing.
You have to put it on a cycle.
Yeah, there are different settings.
Maybe you just don't look over there.
No, I literally turn it on and hit hold the start.
That's it.
So you don't look at the rest.
No.
Right.
Did you know it's warm?
Yeah, because it has a light that says hot water or warm.
whatever.
For me, if...
Because it has a button for temperature,
and you can press it,
and it'll change the hot, warm, cold.
Yeah.
And I just leave it on warm.
No, no judgment.
I'm dumb at laundry.
So if I'm doing laundry,
which isn't often.
If I do do laundry,
I do it all in colds,
I don't screw it up.
Because if I do it and the colors are...
Yeah, like if you put a white...
Separate colors anyway.
If you put a white shirt
with a brand new red shirt
and you do it hot,
that white shirt's going to be pink.
And also you can shrink.
Oh, I don't have brand new clothes because I just have t-shirts.
Well, there you go.
That could work too.
Yeah.
When's the last time you got new clothes?
Like a new what?
It does anything.
My wife got me new jeans for my birthday.
Are those them?
Oh, maybe was it this birthday or was it last birthday?
No, I think the one he's wearing, we got those at Nordstrom Rack in 2015.
You were part of that?
No, these are different ones.
Those got a hole in the butt, so they're kind of on the out.
Just kidding.
But these are the first jeans from those.
They looked the same.
They looked the same.
So I don't know if it was this birthday.
Maybe it was Christmas.
But no other, like a button up for something that's coming up or.
No, not.
Gosh, I couldn't tell you the last time I bought a shirt.
You didn't buy anything for Vegas?
No.
War clothes that had in my closet.
Oh, what about that white hoodie with the black?
The way he wore CMAs.
I bought that like four years ago.
Formal.
Formal hoodie.
You sure you watched that set.
separate from other things. That's a white hoodie.
No?
Have you worn that since?
I don't know if I have. Maybe I have.
You think you'd remember if you went out again.
The other formal events, I don't know.
I'm just trying to think, yeah, I couldn't tell you the last time I bought clothes.
Gosh, I mean, phew.
Yeah, it's been a long time. I mean, I have no idea.
All right. Well, oh, I bought this hoodie.
Yeah.
Yeah, but that was.
Last November or December when, because the bears were actually.
good when it was cold outside.
So less than a year ago?
Yeah.
Where'd you get that?
He's been wearing it every day since.
Online at whatever.
Like bears.com or NFL.com?
Yeah.
When's the last time that bad boy's been watched?
Good question.
I don't know.
Since you bought it.
Have you ever watched it?
Yeah, yeah.
I've watched it before.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because I mean, it wasn't.
Yeah, I mean, yeah, I've worn it.
I've washed it.
Do you think more than three times?
Probably about three.
I mean, every couple months.
I think it's been a couple of months, though, since it's been washed.
Yeah, it's like if I accidentally take it home, I might as well.
I agree with that.
Okay, there you go.
Everybody good?
Yep.
All right, that's what it's all about.
That was Tell Me Something Good.
On November 6th, I'm the cat in the hat.
Let's get it started.
You know the hat.
I am a entertainment specialist.
Now meet the cat.
With clients today, you have to do more to impress them.
These aren't your father's kids.
My father has other kids.
You go on long business trips?
Oh, no.
Bill Hader is
Cat?
Cat.
Cat in the hat.
You have gone too far.
You say toot fart?
I said too far.
Toot fart, too far.
I heard tut fart again.
The cat in the hat.
Only in theaters November 6th.
If there's a million times more digital intelligence than there is biological intelligence,
it's hard to imagine humans being in control in that scenario.
I'm Walter Isaacson, host of the new podcast, The Builders.
Right now we're living through an AI.
arms race. So I went directly to the people shaping that future. Elon Musk, Dario Amade,
Alex Carr, Faye, Faye Leap, Allmer Lucky, because I wanted to understand what the most consequential
builders believe, what they fear, and where they think this is all headed.
Silicon Valley is always saying the cliche thing about the way to predict the future is to create
it. Well, yeah, it's up to us. But when you say us, who's a
us. Is it 400 people that you know in Silicon Valley? Is it me down here in New Orleans?
They're brilliant, controversial, and they're already shaping the future. The question is,
whose imagination do we want to live in? This is going to determine the fate of nations and economies
and the future of humanity. Listen to the builders on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever
you get your podcasts. I'm Hamza. And I'm Martin. And we're the host of Out of Character. It's a
podcast. I know there's a lot of them going around, but why should you listen to ours? Well, we're only
the best podcast in the entire world. And we talk about pretty much everything under the sun.
For example, music we're listening to, underground music, trending music, drama in music worlds.
Yes, sometimes we even talk about just everyday mundane situations in our lives, like the cool
Uber driver we just had. Or the food we just say, that is surprisingly delicious. Or we'll talk about
the med gala and the looks that.

It's time for the good news. With producer Eddie.
Yeah, home there's something good.
Six years ago, Jeff Robertson of North Carolina decided to just decorate his house.
house for Halloween, but he went crazy, amatronic skeletons, like all of this stuff that people
all over the country found it online said, we got to go see this. They would plan trips to go see
his yard. And so he's like, I got to make money off this, or raise money at least. And so
he started charging people to see this. He started giving money to St. Jude. And they said, you know what,
let's start a whole thing called skeletons for St. Jude. And now people all over the country are
decorating their houses, collecting money and donating to St. Jude. How did they collect it?
I guess when the car goes through, there's like, here's a little ticket.
If you want to donate to St. Jude, give us some money.
Someone stands out there.
They've raised $1.1 million since they launched this.
Oh, wow.
I saw a car in our garage that it hits, hit somebody.
Did you guys see this?
No.
Yeah, because the skeleton's still in the front of the car.
Oh, that's what.
Dude, I love those and the ones in the trunk where their hands sticking out of the chest.
The hands are great.
Like, the skeleton was attached to the front of the car this morning.
That's funny.
And I was like, man, that person, they got to.
hit and didn't even that's still attached to the front of the car.
That's a great way.
I'm looking at some of these pictures. Man, they go hard.
Like, they go hard.
Limited. I like it for charity, but Halloween decorating, just a limited life.
Yeah, yeah, a few weeks.
If really.
If that.
I mean, you throw that stuff up in September, you're a weirdo.
Yeah.
That's really cool, though.
These people went hard and they're making a lot of money for a good cause.
That is what it's all about.
That was tell me something good.
Yes, Bobby Bones.
All right, let's check some voicemails from you guys.
Guys, go ahead.
It's Marissa from Austin.
I bought salsa from A few weeks ago.
I gave him a tips, and with that, I gave him a lottery ticket to give to lunchbox.
And I just haven't heard anything, which is totally fine.
But I'm wondering if, one, he gave him a ticket, two, did lunchbox get anything out of that?
Let me know.
So, I didn't know this, but I think I saw a video of lunchbox scratching a ticket.
Was that from her?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So this was up on YouTube page.
I put it up on YouTube.
Got it.
Yeah, I think it's kind of weird.
The voicemail makes it sound like she didn't think I gave it to him.
Well, she hasn't heard about it.
Maybe she didn't see the video.
Yeah.
Well, I gave it to lunchbox.
And?
I won $30.
You did?
Shut up.
Yeah, so thank you to her.
Awesome, right?
That's legit.
Wow.
$30.
Yeah, I mean.
You can buy a sweatshirt.
I could buy a sweatshirt.
It was really cool.
Like, it was a huge, like, lottery ticket.
And Eddie was very weird about it.
He just walks up and goes, here.
Here, here's a lottery.
scratch it and he has the camera going and I'm like
Oh dang, he got you with one of those.
It was like paparazzi.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, no, so then I'm like,
TMZ.
So I'm very confused.
I'm like, this isn't a real ticket.
Because the way Eddie was doing it and presenting it, I was like, this isn't a real
ticket.
So I don't even know how I looked on the video, but I didn't even say thank you.
I know that because I was like, this ain't a real ticket.
Well, you didn't know who it's from either.
That's what I'm saying.
No, I told him.
I told him.
I told him.
I told him.
From the very beginning, I said this is from a listener's name.
Is that on a video?
Yeah.
That you said that.
Correct.
Okay.
Okay.
It just felt the way he was doing it.
And the ticket, I'd never seen one that was like so big.
It was almost as big as a sheet of paper.
He kept turning it around, I guess looking for that like redeem at your mama's house.
Yeah, valid only in your dreams.
And so I was like, huh, this is weird.
I got one $30.
So thank you to.
Maritza.
Maritza from Texas.
Correct.
And she gave you a tip too?
Yeah, dude.
She tipped me.
She was so sweet.
How do you feel like people tipping you for your salsa?
I mean, I think it's a wonderful thing.
Like, it's when people to, and you know what, like the other day, somebody tipped me $50.
Wait, what?
Yes.
Wait, wait, what?
They tip me $50.
And I was like, you over, this is more than you owe me.
So I send it back.
I was like, no, you overpaid me.
And they said, no, no, no, that's your tip.
I'm sending it back to you.
Do not return it.
I'm like, wow, they just tip me $50.
For how many jars?
Four jars.
That's the price of four jars
I agree
They doubled it
100% tip
Did you go somewhere extra
To meet them
No I mean
Africa Djibouti
Did not go to Djibouti
Nope
Wow
Pretty amazing
I tell you
When someone tips you like that though
It makes your day
Lunchbox
How do you feel about that tip
I mean
People are crazy
I mean he didn't deserve it
But I mean
He did provide a service
And
I don't know
But what did I just say
It made my day
How did your mic go out?
Oh, you put your computer on the button?
It's out again.
You just turned it off again.
I had to sniff my nose.
Oh, so you turned it off and then didn't turn it back on?
And my button is so far away.
So start again, because we just heard you yelling, but we're not knowing what you were saying.
I don't remember.
Fair enough.
It's all good.
What are we talking about?
Who knows?
No, no, no, no.
Tiffy.
Oh, okay.
I know, I know.
They're obviously a listener, right?
Yeah.
So it's like you're providing a service every morning being here talking, entertaining them.
They're probably like, this is so cool.
Like, thank you.
What if there was a tip line on the app when people listen to the podcast?
Well, no.
They don't need to do that.
We would bank.
I don't know.
And we'd have to divvy it up.
Like, you know what I mean?
Like servers do at the end of the day?
Or who does that?
The kitchen stuff?
No.
the server tips out.
So when I was serving, I would tip out to my support staff if it was,
because I was a busboy before I was a server,
so I was really good at the busboys.
So that, and then a little bit to kitchen,
if they helped in a way that they traditionally didn't have to help,
but they had to come through.
But we didn't normally tip out the kitchen.
Got it.
But they put a tip line on that?
Yeah, you imagine.
And what if we could see, like, at what moment they decided to tip?
Yeah.
Like, who said what?
Cool. We do a whole podcast just like talking about the tips and like the things they are saying.
Okay, let's go with the next one, Ray.
Hi, Bobby. I just wanted to let you know your wife out kicked her coverage when she met you.
Thank you. Just because I go through the same thing every day with my wife and it gets really annoying.
So love the show and you're a good dude and super handsome.
Thank you. I am super handsome.
How do that make you feel?
Well, I just know he doesn't believe that.
I think he just experiences something similar and he wanted to make me feel good.
I know the truth.
He relates.
I looked on the comments on Tuesday on one of the videos that we had up on TikTok, and it was just people going hard on me about my hair and how ugly I am with my hair like this.
And I think they think I'm doing it because it's visually appealing.
Like, I know my ceiling and looks.
solid six and a half
dressed up
I can touch seven
I can reach up touch seven
if I'm my tippy toes
I can touch a seven
so it doesn't hurt me
when people say that
I'm ugly or my hair's ugly
but I'm also not growing my hair out
to be hot
or for any other reason
it's just become a bit
and it's funny to me
I've never had my hair this long before
and that's it
and the comments are all
you look terrible with your hair
first why would you write that
And that's weird.
Secondly, it doesn't hurt me because I'm secure enough to know, one, what my looks hold.
And two, I don't care about my hair.
My wife would like for me to cut my hair.
So much so she stopped talking about it because she knows if she keeps talking about it, I'll never cut it.
It makes me think that this weekend we were revisiting, this last weekend my sister was supposed to be here for birthday, but she wasn't.
When he had her on FaceTime, we were all laughing about comments.
People used to put about her on Reddit when they had their TV show on HDTV.
And they would go hard on her hair because she kind of just,
just wears it in like this messy ponytail and they would talk about how there's like a bird's nest in there and she needs to put down her coffee cup and pick up a comb.
Oh, that's funny.
People get so passionate about weird things.
Yes.
And I'm like, go, why are people so rude?
How's the flooding?
They're doing, I mean, it's going, I mean, there's, it's devastating in certain areas.
My sister, thankfully, the cleanup at their house is going well.
I know other people have a lot more to deal with.
And they're doing that really cool thing.
I told you at their coffee shop where they're part.
partnering with a restaurant whose power went out and now they have power.
So they're doing this whole cookout there.
They posted the menu.
I was like, this looks legit.
I want to go.
I guess the cookout happened last night.
But it was fundraising for so all the money was going to go towards the wait staff because
they're not able to make money there.
A lot of people in that town, they have seasonal jobs and they rely on tourism and service industry.
And so the money will go to the staff that was earned last night.
Has, physically, is it back to normalish?
No.
No, it's not going to be for a while.
I think it'll take a minute.
For certain parts of the town, yeah, for sure.
Some people get it really bad, like it run their houses.
Yeah, across the river.
Like, the house across the river, from my sister's house, the river.
Like, across the river.
Their whole second floor deck, like, I don't know,
because it does something to the foundation of the whole house,
but the second story deck was crazy.
It was like, it's like, was leaning like this.
Like my sister was waiting for it to fall into the river.
It never did.
But that's just structurally a lot of places are really damaged.
Or electricity-wise or, yeah, just like in my sister's case,
it's like their whole yard is just complete mud pit now.
And then under their crawl space, some flooding there.
But again, they have their house on stilts.
Thank goodness.
And a lot of them do, but it depends on how high up it went.
And if you got lucky.
So hopefully this won't happen again for another 100 years.
Except it happened again, like two years ago.
Yeah. I haven't last year and they said that. But it's got that that 100 year flood. Like when you're buying a house and you see that, it's like how do they know? They don't. It's so it's really not. Hey, this only happens once every 100 years. But because of weather patterns, usually that pattern in the history of that area has only happened around once every 100 years. It can happen three times in two months. So there really is no hard and fast rule. They're just used.
using history as a way to measure it.
And in their case, they live on a river.
They know the risks there.
But like when I was by, when I bought my house a couple of years ago, there was one I was
really considering looking at.
The one I actually went to with Caitlin, Bobby's wife, we went and where I saw the cardinal
with my mom.
Yeah.
We've heard about her.
Yeah, we've heard about her.
Caitlin, y'all know.
She outkicked her coverage.
Yeah, we've heard of her.
Yeah.
By marrying Bobby.
Yeah, of course.
So that's where I saw the cardinal who's my mom.
telling me like sell your house everything will be fine it wasn't saying move into this
house but that particular house which we really liked it was in the flood a flood zone wasn't
that you wanted to buy that was near you like you want well you like let's invest in the house yeah
wasn't it in a floodplain like a major floodplain yeah so I ended up not getting it you
know that house is still for sale and you can't get insurance because it's in a floodplain you can
but it's very very high like I thought someone bought the house at an auction they did they bought it
And then they tried to flip it and it's still for sale.
Oh, so what did they do to upgrade it?
Like what they do?
I mean, they just remodeled it.
It looks great.
It looks better than the way, like I saw it at the first time.
What did it go for at auction?
Do you know?
I don't know.
Oh, dude, once you guys were out and then I realized I was going to get it.
We were never in.
I know.
But once I knew it wasn't going to happen, I never followed up on it.
But I drive by it and I was like, wow, it's still for sale.
And I look for the flood.
There's no flood.
That's really not how that works.
I do look for it, though.
Do you know what it's listed at now?
No, I'll look into it.
It's a terrible time now to try to sell a house.
But a great time to buy.
Great time to buy.
That would be the opposite of the pendulum.
If it's a bad time to sell, it's a good time to buy.
Yeah.
And here it's been really, really, really bad to buy for so long.
But now it's starting to be a buyer's market again, for sure.
So do we need to buy something?
Let's look at that house.
We don't.
However, you know the house I was telling you guys about?
There was like 12 salads.
Yes.
It sold.
It did.
I was disappointed.
We were walking by it the other day and I said, there she is.
The house.
That's what you said.
There she is.
I said, I said, oh man, it's so.
It took the sign down.
I was like, you weren't really going to buy it anyway.
I was like, you never know.
Yeah, you never know.
We could hear in your voice.
You were kind of like, I don't know.
Yeah, but she knows.
But she also knows that she could wake up on a Tuesday and I'm like, look what he just did.
We bought a house.
Yeah, so.
All right, I'm glad to hear that at least they're moving forward.
All right, next one.
Hello, Bobby Bones.
I listen to your show every single day, and you honestly tear me up a lot, and I'm 11 years old.
I have a tournament tomorrow, and I just wanted to say hi.
Hope you read this out on the show.
Bye.
Thanks, buddy.
You didn't say your name, but we appreciate that.
Thank you for listening.
Good luck.
Yeah, I hope you have a good tournament.
And Ray, give me number seven.
This is Monica from Texas.
I'm going to leave a gap.
Morning studio.
Morning.
So, y'all are talking about.
10 out 10 experiences, and I just want to stay Niagara Falls in the fall as the experience
every with my family. So that's it. Love the show. Bye. I've heard that from a couple people.
You've ever done that? No, that you get up on top and it's unlike anything else.
Really? I've never been up near it. Been into upstate New York, but we've played like the fair
in Albany or the fair. Yeah, where is it exactly? It's right, Canada, Canada, America,
because one half of it's on Canada, one half's on America.
Okay.
But I think the American side is the big side.
I can be wrong, but I think the American side is the big side.
Has anybody been there?
It's located on the Niagara River, which forms the international border between New York State and the United States and the province of Ontario, Canada.
Horseshoe Falls is the largest section located mostly on the Canadian side.
The American Falls is on the U.S. side.
Maybe largely, though, means it is bigger on the Canadian side.
But I don't know how my friends would have got over to the Canadian side if they didn't.
go over the line.
Like, do they have people there doing checks of passports?
I would think so.
It's a border, right?
Yeah, but I'm saying you can't walk over to that part unless you get your passport checked.
But I have heard it's pretty amazing.
It's the bigger, wider side with the largest waterfall volume.
The U.S. side, New York, features the individual American and bridal veil falls.
Yeah, I don't know.
I've seen videos of people like on boats at the bottom of it.
That seems pretty crazy.
I want to go over in a barrel.
That's what they used to do.
Oh, like go over the waterfall.
Yeah, yeah, in a barrel.
Yeah.
All right.
Ray, let's do one more.
Give me six.
What up, Bobby in Studio?
A couple episodes behind,
Buck was listening to the part
where Eddie was talking about
no right on red.
Right on red is that,
do you guys consider that similar
to turning left onto a one way?
Since it's the same thing
as when you turn right,
you're turning right onto the closest road.
to turn left onto a one way that's going that way, you're turning on to the closest road as well.
Just curious.
Thanks.
I do, yes.
I'll turn left on a one way if it's the only way because that to me feels the same as right on red.
There's nothing oncoming.
I don't know if that's the law or legal.
Hold on.
How do you do that?
So if you're on a road, that's a two-way road, right?
That's the road you're on.
Well, you could also be on a one-way.
Oh.
Mostly that's what I'm thinking about.
You go one way to one way.
Got it.
And it's left, and you just go.
Even if it's red, you can go left.
Again, I don't know that's the rule, but I'd treat it like a right on red.
Yeah.
Yeah, you're right.
Kind of by our old work.
That was kind of the situation for us, one way, one way.
I don't know, dude.
But if you were on a two-way, you couldn't do that.
I'm confused already, so you've confused me.
Right on red.
You can absolutely walk directly over the Canadian side from New York.
If you go to Niagara Falls, you will cross using the rainbow bridge.
It makes it sounds like you die.
Right.
And you don't need a passport?
It says, which is the only bridge in that immediate area that permits pedestrian traffic, you are crossing an international border.
You must bring a valid physical passport.
Or enhanced driver's license.
Cost money.
Dollar.
I don't know.
It'd be cool to go.
That would be cool.
It costs a dollar?
That's what it says.
There's a turnstile.
Got it.
Walking into Canada from New York is free.
However, when you return from Canada back to the U.S., that's how the U.S. gets you.
Make you pay that dollar.
You can go for free.
Hey, have your first drug for free.
We'll get you on that second and third.
All right, there you go.
Thank you for the voicemails.
By the way, anytime, guys, call us 877-Bobby.
It's time for the good news.
With lunchbox.
Stay at home, it's something good.
Last Friday, there was extreme flooding out in Colorado,
and there's a family right outside of Pocosa Springs.
They're like, we've got to evacuate.
They get their RV, their five pets,
and they're driving out of there.
When all of a sudden floodwaters,
knock over the RV and they are stuck.
They can't get out so they just climb up on top of the RV.
Them, their five pets, stranded, water just rushing by.
And then what's that?
Black Hawk helicopter from the National Guard comes, drops that rope, and gets them all to safety.
That's cool.
You know that's Amy's sister's town.
Yeah.
Yeah, I know.
Okay.
I thought you were going to do a story about her.
Same.
Because Amy's sister was supposed to come to town last weekend for Amy's sister's
birthday.
Yeah, like on Friday.
The flood kept them from coming.
Yeah, that's why I picked it. It said Pagosa
Springs. I was like, oh, this will relate to Amy.
That's why I went with it.
Got it. I thought he was going to do your
family. Oh, well, she didn't have any thing
crazy like that. No, I know, but what he just
said that, I was like, he's found a reason to...
When he was doing the helicopter, I was like, oh, it's
Amy's sister in the helicopter. Oh, you thought it was still
Amy's sister all the way through. Oh, good,
good. Yeah, good story. Five pets, huh?
Five pets, and they were all safe.
Good story. Cold, but safe.
That's what it's all about.
That was Tell Me Something Good.
