So I was on a difficult phone call yesterday.
Starting point is 00:02:36 and guess who comes to my window. Your mom, I've already a Cardinal. It gave me peace. Like just to the window? Let me show you. You have a feeder? I have a feeder. But then, so it wasn't even at the feeder.
Starting point is 00:02:52 It was right there and it sat there for a long time. I love that. I have multiple look up close. It's like it was also the cutest Cardinal ever. They're not all super fluffy and fat looking. And this one was all. puffed out. And so it just brought me comfort in that moment. And I was like, Mom, you knew what to do. You knew she got me. And it just gave me peace during the call. Everything okay? Yeah. It was just a
Starting point is 00:03:20 annoying, like, not a, I mean, you know some of it. It's just like stuff. Like, that led me nowhere. I probably do. You know, you know, you know, some of it. It's like words. You know. You know, it was just, um, phone, you know. You know, I'm not asking. You know, I'm not asking. I'm just saying, are you good? I can say, but it's just like not a fun phone call, but to then be sitting at my kitchen table and look up and see my mom sitting there in the tree, like not even there to get food. Not even at the, because if she's at the feeder, I'm like, okay, fine, she came to eat. No, she came to just be there with me.
Starting point is 00:03:54 Do you ever feel like they just look in to look at you? Like they're looking in to be like, it's like, it's her mom and being like, hey, Amy, it's me. Because they're not, you're, she's right. They're not eating. They just look in. Yeah. peeping tombs
Starting point is 00:04:06 I feel like on the phone call if my mom would have come to eat it would have hit different than her just sitting there on the tree being near me I know this sounds crazy I don't care It doesn't sound crazy at all Whatever it Well no I'm not gonna I'm not gonna co-sign that statement
Starting point is 00:04:20 But I do think if it helped you great Yeah it just gave me a little extra piece It can sound crazy and be And bring you peace Yeah to me though that does not sound crazy I know that's because you also think your dad's a bird Well speaking of that not to say It's away from you, Amy.
Starting point is 00:04:35 No, go for it. But mine I've always thought was a dove, right? A morning dove. A morning dove. And he's come before and just kind of chilled and looked in the window like I was talking about. I think he's got a girl. Is that make you jealous? Lately he's been coming with someone else.
Starting point is 00:04:49 But morning doves often travel in pairs. So does he have a brother or a sister that died? Have you told your mom? No. Oh, do not say that. No way. Am I telling her that? Dad's got a chick in heaven.
Starting point is 00:05:01 Literally. A chick. A chick. But could it be his brother? Could be he's got two brothers. Oh, they did? Okay. Problems all.
Starting point is 00:05:10 But he's only with one other one. I don't know. It's kind of weird. Would you mind if that were the case? No. Dad who died has a girl in heaven? No, man. We were even talking about what I mind
Starting point is 00:05:22 and my mom had a boyfriend. Like, I don't care. It's their life. What? You wouldn't care? No, I wouldn't. Wait a second. You don't want her to be happy.
Starting point is 00:05:29 You don't wait your mom to be happy? Of course, you would. Oh, no. Okay. So this is interesting. Because I have a friend whose son kind of told her this. He's out of college now. But he just graduated.
Starting point is 00:05:42 And she said that they were somehow talking about if something were to happen to their dad. And she would be like, you know, would I date? I'm not sure. And he's like, you absolutely would not. And she's like, okay. And I was like, wow, I get that you'd be sad that your dad died, but to not want your mom to move on to something. thing after, of course she's going to grieve.
Starting point is 00:06:04 It's not going to be like the next day. Yeah, it feels extremely selfish because you're making it about you and not about the person you love having some happiness or comfort or not being lonely. You'd rather than be lonely for your sake so it's not weird than for them to have something and someone to accompany them. Pretty selfish. It's a natural feeling. I get it.
Starting point is 00:06:25 But yeah. I don't know. Hedy, how long has your dad been two years? Oh, two years. And they were married for how long? long time. Yeah, see, I feel like that's not long enough. But that's not my business.
Starting point is 00:06:36 If my wife feels like, oh, my mom feels like, I've done that before. That's the hardest one we've ever heard. My mom feels like she's moved on and she wants to kind of live her life a different way. Go for it. You flipped and calling your wife your mom, never your mom your wife. I just think those two are the two women in my life. No, you think they do the same job. No, that's exactly what it is.
Starting point is 00:06:59 Yes, it is. You do. They do the same job. job for you. I love them the most. I'm glad that happened to you. Thanks. My tell me something good is last night
Starting point is 00:07:09 after the baby went to sleep, one of my wife and I's favorite shows is called From? Who's in? Mike, are you in? Oh, that's right. Oh, my daughter loves From. It's kind of scary.
Starting point is 00:07:20 It's kind of scary? It's season four. Are creepy? And yeah. And I don't like scary movies. I don't like scary shows. I love this show. Season one, I think, got a 99
Starting point is 00:07:28 Rotten Tomato. Season 2 got a 90-something. One of them got a 100% and they have already reviewed season four it got 100%. So episode one was last night. Oh my God. Is that where they go into the town and then? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:43 So there's a town. There's like a county line or a city line or town line. And when you drive through that then you can't, you're stuck or something? Close enough. Not really. But you end up in this town and you can drive all you want out of it, but it just circles around. You're still in the town. And then it's what happened.
Starting point is 00:08:01 and that town it's awesome so episode what's great is it is freaky and I don't like horror there's definitely a horror element to it but I like zombies
Starting point is 00:08:15 I like that type of stuff so I can just convince myself as that but there are four there's three and they're working on the fourth season if you're just getting started now you have so much to watch
Starting point is 00:08:23 I'm so jealous yeah because when you can catch a good show and there's already multiple seasons up yeah like we've never watched the pit and that show is massive. Yeah, my wife loves it. Anybody I know watches it loves it.
Starting point is 00:08:37 And to me, I've never been drawn to it. You watch it? I have not watched the latest. I think I was saving up, but I forgot to go back to it. But season one, I loved. So we purposefully, not even dabbling because we're not super drawn to it
Starting point is 00:08:51 and we'd like for it to build up a little bit. Also, a new episode of Friends and Neighbors. We didn't get to watch it last night. That I'm letting save. Yeah. I'm a reader now. I've heard. So. You're like giving it.
Starting point is 00:09:04 You're all at the books. I'm very busy. Is it easy for you? What do you mean? To read? I'm, I, I read. I know, but we're dyslexic. No, no, she can read the cover of yourself.
Starting point is 00:09:12 No, but the more I read, the more I'm getting to it. And my method is, I'm, my D's wife keeps giving me books. So it's like, okay, I'm not having to pay for the book. So then I get it, buy it on audible. So then I have it, I listen to it, and then I read when I, before sleep or sometimes during the day, if I want to lay down and read a little bit, or I listen to it while I read. Eddie, which is good for us for dyslexic people that's called immersion reading, and it's very helpful. And that's how I've been getting through it all. And Mike D's wife, she's got
Starting point is 00:09:41 a pulse on the good books. She reads a lot, right? She read like 80 books last year. 80. And she has a job. Dang, that's crazy. Yeah, and she's probably not listening to them. She's probably literally just reading. She must be a fast reader. Very fast. Like the book I'm getting, the books. You also get faster, though, the more you read. So I don't just want to say she only reads a lot because she's a fast reader. I think the more you do anything, the better you get at it. Yes.
Starting point is 00:10:04 So I think she has acquired a skill of also reading fast. That makes sense. The book she's giving me, they look brand new because I think she read them in one day. Stop. Does she read a book in one day sometimes?
Starting point is 00:10:16 Okay, two days. Two days. Okay, yeah. What I mean is she's not like... Does she get home from work and just sit down and read and you're like, hey, where are you?
Starting point is 00:10:23 Yeah, she just read. Or before bed, she'll stay up and read. Like, I'll go to sleep. She'll stay up for like two hours and read. We have the same little nightlight. It's like an amber. colored so it doesn't my d's well i only know this because i posted my nightlight and she goes i have the same one and i'm like yay but you can just order on amazon but it's it's a amber light so it won't
Starting point is 00:10:41 mess with your circadian rhythm because you don't want blue light and uh i knew she's giving me these books they look pristine so i knew she was not traveling with them or carrying them around for months at a time or taking them on vacation forever good for you i've been i've been slack and a little am I reading? I go through phases where I read a whole lot. You're a new dad. Still though, I have the time.
Starting point is 00:11:05 Yeah, but it's... To hold a book or a Kindle and watch and hold a baby is very different. You'd probably rather hold the baby and watch TV. There's always an excuse. So why you're not reading? We just said. I just very much get into my TikTok phase or... Oh, that's fun.
Starting point is 00:11:21 Mostly TikTok phase. You can, man, you can kill some hours doing that. It's not. It doesn't count. If they have captions. It doesn't count. I got to get back. and yeah. All right, thank you.
Starting point is 00:11:33 Tell me something good. Who was that? Oh, from this last season got 97%. Oh, you were talking about the pit. That was you. Oh, the pit. Yeah, that's another thing. We haven't started,
Starting point is 00:11:40 but we're going to let that build and then probably take that down. Okay, my, Amy's was a bird. Lunchbox. Yeah, I'm going to say one thing when you have kids, the worst time is like bath time. My two older kids will take a shower.
Starting point is 00:11:51 My four-year-old refuses to take showers. Still wants a math, and it's just annoying. It's time-consuming. And last night, I was like, please, please, I will give you candy if you take a shower. And he took a shower and he got out of the shower and he goes, dad, showers are kind of fun. I want to try that again.
Starting point is 00:12:11 So we may be moving on to showers where I don't have to sit there over the bath, break my back and scrub a dirty kid, which is great news for me. That's a big deal. When did kids start taking showers? My oldest didn't start until he was almost seven because he had a buddy spend the night. And he was like, I'm going to go take a shower. And he took a shower. And my son goes, you did that all by yourself? And so the next day he was like, Dad, I want to try taking a shower.
Starting point is 00:12:37 So I assume like kindergarten is usually when they start. But I don't know. Mine was like not eight, nine. Yeah, like eight, nine is kind of the range. I don't know. There's something about the shower that for my kids that kind of scared them a little bit. Like just the water coming down, they just didn't want to do that. Because the bath sounds fun.
Starting point is 00:12:54 You get to play with toys or whatever and take your time. The shower was intimidating for them. It is a level up in the adult world. to shower from bath. I think that's why I do bat sometimes, level back down. Oh. But I just have a minute. I've taken a few bats, but I just, I don't remember the thing as much.
Starting point is 00:13:08 It's like I'm in the out water. I go two phases with that too, where I'll take a lot of bats. Yeah, but, okay, but as an adult, you shower before you. After the bath. Okay. Got sweat in the bath. Yeah. It's so hot.
Starting point is 00:13:22 I don't shower before. Oh, I rinse off before I take a bath and then after. I'm sure both work. Yeah. Oh, you do both? Yeah, I mean, it's been a minute since I've taken a bath. Makes sense. I don't mind sitting in my own crap, though,
Starting point is 00:13:32 because eventually I'm going to wash it off anyway. I do the rubber ducky, though, where you do the baby's temperature of the water, but I put it in mine. I get 114 or so. Huh. Yeah, my, sometimes my wife's,
Starting point is 00:13:44 what's the camera, man? That's steamy. Yeah, it's hot. Like I said, if I get out of the bath, and my legs aren't red, did I even take a bath? Hmm. But I haven't been bathing as much,
Starting point is 00:13:54 showering a little more. Pride is like love. You feel it in your heart. IR. I didn't think I was going to live. I was terrified. There was no anything inside those eyes. They turned black.
Starting point is 00:14:41 It scared the hell out of me. That was your first murder case? Yes, sir. Fair to say this was the biggest case of your career? Yes, sir. Rape a murder for a child. Just as bad as it gets. I would think so.
Starting point is 00:14:56 People wake up. I'm the one that saw the murder. placed by crevette and de pippo. Anthony DePippo showed no signs of remorse, appearing unfazed after being sentenced to the maximum. I said, I'm not guilty. I'll take it to the grief. Starting point is 00:15:42 Together, we're going to have meaningful conversations with the world's most fascinating people. Like when actress Olivia Munn shared how she overcame fierce health challenges. I've gone through breast cancer and then helped my mother through breast cancer, and that was more difficult. Starting point is 00:16:09 The Jonas Brothers here. Our podcast is called Hey Jonas. We're here, since everyone has a podcast, we want it to as well. And we've had some incredible guests so far. And now our good friend, Nile Horn, is joining the show. How's it going, boys? Hey, Niall. It's the same thing with Slow Hands.
Starting point is 00:16:20 Slow Hands is not about anything else, really, is it? You know, or taste so good can be about food. You do the same, Nick, with some of the stuff that you've done. You too, Joe. Drop what you're doing and listen to Hey Jonas on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you listen. into your podcast. Eddie. So lately I've been waking up with like headaches randomly. And so I kind of like thought it's got to be sinuses. It's got to be the allergies or whatever. So I started doing
Starting point is 00:16:47 sinus rinses before I go to bed. And the last three days, guys, I've been feeling great. Like no headaches. I feel good. It's almost like I guess I got sleep, but I've never really had sleep problems. But maybe it's one of those things where like you don't realize you're not sleeping. But like the last three days, I've been feeling great because every night I've been getting that, you know, it's that plastic bottle and you squeeze it and it goes from one nostril off the other one. Dude, it's amazing. And I think I'm just going to start doing it because I've always depended on Zyrtec, Flonase, and I haven't taken that in three days and I feel good.
Starting point is 00:17:20 They do different things, though. I would encourage you not to stop doing one because you're doing that. What that's doing is not the same as what the medicine does. Really? Yeah. That's very much external and it's clearing out the inside of your nose where that medicine's actually a bit of internal. I just feel like I've been taking Zyrtec every day for like three years straight.
Starting point is 00:17:41 See, I wonder when that's like... Yeah, when has it become not useful. But waking up with headaches can be a sign of low T. Okay. Locked and loaded. Just telling you, I just gave it a Google. I was like, man, Eddie can't... He's really tired the mornings.
Starting point is 00:17:55 Let me see what this is. Yeah. Another sign of low T. Oh, I'm reading extremely low T. Extremely low with headaches. Wow. I'm reading it's called S because it doesn't quite make it to... And the alphabet doesn't quite get up there.
Starting point is 00:18:06 Oh my goodness. These are accompanied by fatigue, mood changes, and weight gain. You know what's crazy about that rinse spray, though? The bottle thing, you have to have like sterile, like bottled water. You can't use tap water because they say you get infections. I wouldn't even use bottled water. You need to use distilled water. Yeah, yeah, distilled.
Starting point is 00:18:27 That's what it is. Yeah, my wife ordered it. It's like a whole jug. And if you don't have that, you need to boil water. Correct. But you have to let it cool before. for you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:36 If you didn't, even once, I'd love to hear that story. I'm so new to this. You have like blisters on the inside of your. Oh, my goodness. Tell me something good, Morgan. Yeah, I got a facial yesterday, so my skin feels so smooth. And I took an everything shower. So I just feel like as clean as can possibly be right now.
Starting point is 00:18:54 I'm feeling real good this morning. Okay, the guys are looking weird because she said everything shower, but that's a common thing for girls. Is that like a bagel, everything bagel? Yeah. Yeah, you know, kind of. seasoning. No, it's like, where you shave your legs and you wash your hair, you do all the deep cleansing if you do any of that. Exfoliate. Like it's a whole, it's a lot longer than just your typical shower. Do you wash your hair and everything? Yes. Okay, because again, I can understand. Everything.
Starting point is 00:19:20 Oh, you don't have to say it like that weird. Why would you say like that? Why would you say like that? That was so sweet. He looks at me under her breath and goes, everything. I know. Now my mind is like, I wasn't, I wasn't weird until you did that graph. The hair. Everything. No. And if you would have said it like that, but you like backed off the mic and everything. No, I was repositioning my chair. Why did you breathe low? Bizarre. Did you guys not feel that was bizarre? Yes. And then my mind went to a weird place.
Starting point is 00:19:42 No, I know me too. I don't like it. You guys, I did not take your mind there. Yes, you did. All of us. Everything. Had you just stayed on Mike going, yeah, that's in everything. I said you went, everything.
Starting point is 00:19:54 Everything. We said everything. She said she washed her hair. And then you asked, does that mean you wash your hair? And we're like, everything. But like hair takes a long time. Yeah. Like I just watched.
Starting point is 00:20:03 But there's a difference in like your hair getting well. like really washing it. Why does hair take a lot time? Because you gotta dry it. Oh yeah. There's a lot of stuff. It depends if you're blessed with like, oh, I just let my hair air dry. You can't do that?
Starting point is 00:20:16 Those girls. Some people can. Some people can and I'm very jealous of them. We can tell. By your h. I'm like, you haven't made. Ramondo, you got anything good news? Yeah, my gym.
Starting point is 00:20:29 They installed a Papa shop basketball hoop. You do love a Papa shop. You do love a Papa shop. you're like a... I did. I invested $200 with some podcast money and I did buy a Papa shot. My wife was not happy about it.
Starting point is 00:20:43 It takes up the entire upstairs. And it is awesome. But now I go to my gym and before I start working out and even before I leave, I got to make at least 10 to 20 shots in a row. I don't know why they put it there. You don't build muscle with Papa Shot.
Starting point is 00:20:56 You don't. It's not cardio. But they threw it at the gym and it's awesome. Keeps you there longer. And I'm there at like three in the morning shooting hoops. Like if anybody else, ever sees me doing this, they're going to be like, this might be the biggest loser in Nashville. Like, why do you not have a job? Why are you up at 3 a.m?
Starting point is 00:21:10 And that's not a workout, buddy. I think you're projecting there. I don't think anybody would think that at all. That's what I'm saying in my head while I'm shooting it. I'm like, dude, if this video ever gets out, it's going to ruin me. Also, I don't believe that's true. Are you okay, Ray? Hey, what's your high score? At home? At home, 151.
Starting point is 00:21:29 It's pretty good. You ever see the competitions? No. I've seen a video of a guy that just... Yeah, they have... They have competitions and everything. They did puzzle competition I was talking about. But yeah. Scooby, Steve, anything?
Starting point is 00:21:39 Yeah, my son, he had his, he tried out for Oklahoma, which is the musical, and he got a part in it. There's only a few parts that they gave out because everyone sings the song collectively. But then there's like some solos. And his solo was the pasture for the cattle, spinach and tomatoes. And he nailed it. And he projected his voice. You could hear him. That's great.
Starting point is 00:21:57 So, yeah, it was a really cool moment to see that and watch him perform. I never knew the Oklahoma. movie. This is a musical. But it's my wife's favorite movie ever, so now I've seen it a couple times. I know all the songs too. Oh, what a beautiful morning. And that only comes after the beginning part where he's on the horse. Happy, Smiley. What's that guy's name? I don't know. I've never seen it. I never seen it. I even hit you up a few months ago because he was auditioning and I had to like, how much song do you so I could kind of figure it out so we could play it in the car. Oh yeah. What song was that? It was this one right here, the, I guess the Oklahoma song.
Starting point is 00:22:33 Curley was the guy's name, the main guy, Curley. What, which, oh, the Pinto and Tomato, that one? Finage and tomatoes, flowers for the barley. That's cool. When is that show? They just did it. It was a few days ago. Oh, he didn't get the part.
Starting point is 00:22:48 He got it, did it. Did you kill it? Yeah, yeah, no, I wouldn't saw it. I didn't miss it. No, no, no, we missed it. Oh, you missed it. You might have said that. You might have said that I was looking up what Curley's name was.
Starting point is 00:22:56 No, it's all good, yeah, yeah. You would have guessed what it came to that? No, just did it. How weird was that have been? Never know, dude, with that. Let's go scuba son. Never know. All right, good job, good job.
Starting point is 00:23:08 Okay, that's what's up, and that's what it's all about. Thank you. That was Tell Me Something Good. It's time for the good news. With Bobby. Tell me something good. I got a good one here for everybody, but especially if you're like Amy and went to school at Texas A&M. That's right.
Starting point is 00:23:27 So this story comes from College Station. Okay. So two Aggie alumni, Allie and Brian Mass. they lost their 10-year-old son to a rare pediatric brain cancer. So in his final hours, they made a promise to him that they would start a campaign and they would start because there is no cure for pediatric brain cancer. And they're always looking for money to continue research. So what they've done is they've teamed up with the Texas A&M baseball team.
Starting point is 00:23:54 Every Aggie strikeout during the season will elicit a contribution. And so they're hopefully going to make $100,000. to fight the disease. Wow. So what we're hoping is Texas A&M's got to get a pitching staff. Yeah. Strike out.
Starting point is 00:24:08 They don't strike anybody out. They don't make any money. Encourage the visiting team, too, just not to swing, you know, so we can raise some money. Or swing wildly. If you're, you know, if you're beating the crap out of A&M,
Starting point is 00:24:21 right, NAM's beating the crap out of you, get up there, take some hacks, take some big swings. You people, would people, would. What do you mean, you people? Not you people. Would people, that impact, their batting average?
Starting point is 00:24:33 though? Yeah, of course. But what would impact more is the good, the money you raise. They have an asterisk by it. Some of those were for a good cause. Some strikeouts were for a good cause. Yeah, so the effort is backed by a community known as Mark's Army, along with Aggie Land Credit Union, and they're all rallying around what began it's a family's grief. And so Mark's legacy.org is where the story is, but I thought it was a pretty cool way to get everybody involved. And also Amy's an Aggie alum. Giggle. Still can't find a ring, though. Nope, it is missing.
Starting point is 00:25:05 And if anybody finds it, there is a reward. Yeah, and that reward grows every time we talk about it. And seemingly, I'm the one who's put the money forward. Yes, that's so kind and generous of you. Tell me something good. I know. I don't remember that really, but all right, there you go. That's what it's all about.
Starting point is 00:25:20 That was Tell Me Something Good. It's time for the good news. With producer Eddie. Tell me something good. Kane is 11 years old, and he's been living in foster care for two. years in Texas, but now the time has finally come. The family has decided to adopt him. They got all their paperwork done, and this is cool. So as you guys know, the final process of all this is to go to the courthouse, the judge signs the papers, and it's official. Well, they get to the
Starting point is 00:25:47 courthouse, and over 40 students from his elementary school are there to support him. Dang, that's cool. So cool. They're all in the courtroom. Everyone gets, celebrates, the family's there, friends and all the students. So cool to have that support system at the courthouse. Much like when this happened with you, Eddie and your two kids. Yeah. They're dressed as cowboys too. No way. I didn't see that.
Starting point is 00:26:07 They're real cowboys. You made your kids wear Dallas Cowboys. They have no idea. Yeah, they dressed with cowboy hats and like button-ups. Oh, they're real cowboys. Yeah, yeah. You made yours dress as Dallas Cowboys. Yeah, we were there.
Starting point is 00:26:19 You remember the judge was like, I don't know about this, but we're going to sign the papers anyway. I was like, Judge. No anti-Caboy jokes here. Come on, Judge. All right, there you go. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. is essential and it's also elusive. But now, there's a new and exciting way to start your journey
