This is where teams are built. Free agency, combine, pro days, trades. Every move matters. From my draft boards and mock drafts to my vaunted top 101 free agents and how

Starting point is 00:03:08 With Bobby. Tell me something good. Nobody wants to be at the emergency vet, especially on Christmas. It's stressful, but it's also very expensive. The emergency vet, having been a bunch of times, is very expensive. One anonymous man knew this because he had done it and had to go and had to pay the big bill for it. And so on Christmas morning, he walked in. he didn't have a pet with an issue.
Starting point is 00:03:31 He told the staff he was going to stick around for a few hours, and he had a stack of plain white envelopes, and every envelope was money, and he would pass it out to the people there because he knew, one, they didn't plan to be there, so they probably didn't plan to spend that money, and it's a Christmas, and so he just handed out people with their pets
Starting point is 00:03:46 and the emergency pet place money. That is so cool. That's someone who's been through it, who knows, because you wouldn't know do that unless you've been through it like that. The hospital staff said the law, Bobby turned into a scene of pure emotion. There were tears, hugs.
Starting point is 00:04:02 Some people were so moved, they tried to hand the money to the person sitting next to them to keep the chain of kindness going. It's not Starbucks. Take the money. By the time the man had left, he covered the bills for 10 different families. That's amazing. That's stories from MSN. We had to go with Stanley, my bulldog once because he got a chew toy stuck in his digestive system. I heard him open his mouth once, and it went, squeak, coming out of his mouth.
Starting point is 00:04:26 Whoa. And so I had to load them up. And I was at the vet overnight for like seven to eight hours. And then they said, we can't get to him right now. We'll keep them because they had to go and surgically remove the chew toy from his intestines. And turns out he ended up passing it. That's good. You're going to be like, wait, what?
Starting point is 00:04:49 No, no, sorry, sorry. Turns out, he's still alive. We know Stanley. Yeah, he's still alive. He's still alive. He just ended up. It went through the old. system. And they had to take images of it
Starting point is 00:05:01 every hour to make sure that it wasn't stopping it where he would die. But the emergency vet is terrible. You didn't plan to go there. You didn't plan to spend that money and it costs a ton. And so there's that I'd mention that Stanley, my bulldog, he has this thing where he sees poop and he runs and dives into it. And we hate it. We've tried to get him to stop. So I got a shot caller. And I'm not I'm not shot caller guy, but I'm also not, you shouldn't do that. And there's
Starting point is 00:05:27 of, we don't use the shock, we use the it's just a vibration. It scares the crap out of him. He doesn't do it anymore. He runs at it the first few and I vibrated. It's like, whoa! And he just stops. Wow. It has helped dramatically. So for anybody out there
Starting point is 00:05:45 going through it with their dog, we don't shock and listen to you shock, you got a relationship with your dog. It's like spanking. I got spanked, but I don't think because I got it, it's right. I don't really have a relationship with it yet because we don't have a kid yet and there's a fine line
Starting point is 00:06:01 I think it's a fine line here so I'm not going to judge you if you have it but we don't shock me. Yeah no I will say last year I got one of those for my dog and it was a game changer and now we don't I don't even have to vibrate it or do the no there's also a noise too I don't even have to do that
Starting point is 00:06:15 I just show the remote and she is like okay all good here I'm gonna sit down you know I have a water gun but like I only had to score one time and now she just sees the gun and she's like, oh, okay. Oh, yeah. We did that, not for this.
Starting point is 00:06:28 We had water. We would spray like out of a bottle. But then we, everything was wet. The whole floor was always wet. Everything was wet all the time. So we just kind of got annoyed with everything being wet. That didn't work. But the remote, legit.
Starting point is 00:06:40 Wait till Stanley really, like, well, you just hold the remote. Yeah, you just go. Like you, and now I don't even need the exact remote. I just need anything that looks like the remote and she lays down. I guess that's like a parent holding up a belt back in the day. Yeah, yeah. It didn't matter which belt. Anyway, good story about that guy.
Starting point is 00:06:57 That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. Well, this is cool. Glinda Aiken is 84 years old, and she was just recognized by Guinness World Record for having the longest career as a female teacher at the same school.
Starting point is 00:07:18 And it's at a Tennessee high school. She has been there 61 years as a classroom teacher and a librarian. If she was, how old is she? She's 84. Okay, so just say you're 8. You can't be 18 to be a teacher. Uh-uh. So if you say you're 22, you go to college, your teacher.
Starting point is 00:07:34 And how long has she been there? 61 years. It's her whole career. That's about it. So she... Pretty much, yeah. Wow. You tell me.
Starting point is 00:07:41 No, no, I was just kind of guessing the age and when she started. That's crazy. And the school honored her lasting impact. And she describes her school community as part of her extended family. I mean, yeah. She's been able to long enough. I had a teacher named Mr. Tallison at Mountain Pine who was there. Arkansas Keith had him as a teacher.
Starting point is 00:08:00 Oh, and then you had him? Yeah. That's crazy. He was there 50 years probably. And he was really old by the time that I had him, but he was still a pretty good teacher. But once I saw him in a Walmart in Galveston, Texas. That's random. Most random moment of my life.
Starting point is 00:08:16 Vacationing at the beach? I don't know. I didn't talk to him. I was just like, Richard Tolson. He looked at me. I was a kid. Oh. But again, I'm from Mountain Pine Island.
Starting point is 00:08:25 Arkansas, Central Arkansas. The one time I'd been to Galveston. Galveston, Texas. I'm in a Walmart and I see my geography teacher, Mr. Tallison. Yeah, that's crazy. Name something more random that's ever happened to you. Exactly. Can't think of it.
Starting point is 00:08:39 There's nothing. This moment, but yeah, that's pretty right. That should be in Guinness for the most random moment ever, running into your geography teacher at Walmart and Galveston. I mean, it's already shocking enough when you see them outside of school anywhere. In normal clothes? Yeah, but then in another state, crazy. What about?
Starting point is 00:08:53 Because what we did not have? were teachers on social media because we didn't have social media when we were young like seventh grade. What about kids now? They get to see their teachers probably in a different light
Starting point is 00:09:02 than we ever got to because they have the ability to follow or see them on social media. Yeah, I think that often because sometimes teacher accounts will pop up. I don't follow them. If there's this one guy,
Starting point is 00:09:14 his video went viral because Chloe Kardashian commented on it. I saw it. And he's like an attractive, good looking teacher, but he makes these videos in his classroom where there's like, you know,
Starting point is 00:09:24 single, can cook like and then Chloe Cardassian like made some comment and it went totally viral and I'm like wait so I start watching all of his videos and I was like wow his students really see a different side of him the three dimensional
Starting point is 00:09:38 human or like the teacher that's going so viral right now for cheese and her sweet potatoes that I told you all about I've not seen this one you haven't I told you about it in December I was like wow I feel like I was ahead of it because now I just keep seeing it everywhere maybe it's just my algorithm but like people magazine covered it
Starting point is 00:09:55 she films these videos of herself eating during her break. So like breakfast before school, then lunch break and then after school snack. But she talks to the camera and she eats like so weird. She's kind of like silly. But I'm like, are her students like watching her videos? And also you have to think teachers can be anywhere from the young end, 23, to even 48 and do social media. 52 and do so. And like want to have a social media presence.
Starting point is 00:10:23 Yeah. And even clear, like, she seems really sweet and cool, but it's just like, if I was my teacher, like, would it be weird that I'm, like, watching her eat? Probably way more normal than we think because it's all they've been exposed to. Kids, their teachers have had social media. Are there rules where teachers have to be private? No, I mean, some of our kids' teachers, they're not private. My wife follows them. And it's kind of cool to see kind of... She follows them, but they're not private. They're not private. Well, I don't know. That's a good question.
Starting point is 00:10:49 Because you can follow somebody if they're private. They can accept it. Yeah, I'm not really sure about that. But it is cool to see. what they're like outside of the classroom. Like, oh, cool, that's a, she's a Cowboys fan. Awesome. You know, like they do, they have a personality outside of their classroom. They shouldn't.
Starting point is 00:11:04 I know. It's like, I don't want to know. We need our teachers to be robots. Back in the good old days, our teachers were robots. And if they did anything, they did in the smoking room. Yeah. They were in there secretly smoking it up.
Starting point is 00:11:13 All right, that's a good story. That is what it's all about. That was tell me something good. A win is a win. A win is a win. I don't care what I'm saying. Yep, that's me, Clifford Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football,
Starting point is 00:11:31 or my career in sports media. Well, somewhere along the way, this platform became bigger than I ever imagined. And now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifford Show. This is a place for raw, unfiltered conversations with some of your favorite athletes, creators, and voices that not only deserve to be heard, but celebrated. One week, I'll take you behind the scenes of the biggest moments in sports and entertainment, and the next we'll talk about life, mental health, purpose, and even music. The Clifford Show isn't just a podcast, it's a space for honest conversations, stories that don't always get told, and for people who are chasing something bigger.
Starting point is 00:12:06 So, if you've ever supported me or you're just chasing down a dream, this is right where you need to be. Listen to the Clifford Show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more behind the scenes, follow at Clifford and at TikTok Podcast Network on TikTok. You can have opinions. You can have like a strong stance. And then there's your body having its own program. I'm Dr. Maya Shunker, a cognitive scientist and hosts of the podcast, a slight change of plans, a show about who we are and who we become when life makes other plans. We share stories and scientific insights to help us all better navigate these periods of turbulence and transformation.
Starting point is 00:12:49 There is one finding that is consistent, and that is that our resilience rests on our relationships. I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change. We have to be willing to live with a kind of uncertainty that none of us likes. Listen to a slight change of plans on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On a recent episode of the podcast, Money and Wealth with John Hope Bryant, I sit down with Tiffany the budgetista aliche to talk about what it really takes to take control of your money. What would that look like in our families if everyone was able to pass on wealth to the people when they're no longer here? We break down budgeting, financial discipline, and how to build
Starting point is 00:13:38 real wealth starting with the mindset shifts too many of us were never, ever taught. Financial education is not always about like, I'm going to get rich. That's great. It's about creating an atmosphere for you to be able to take care of yourself and leave a strong financial legacy for your family. If you've ever felt you didn't get the memo on money, this conversation is for you to hear more. Listen to Money and Wealth with John O'Brien from the Black Effect Network on the I'd Heart Radio app,
Starting point is 00:14:12 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. What's up? I'm Miles Turner. And I'm Brianna Stewart. And our podcast, Game Recognized Game has never been done before. Two active players giving you a real look at our lives and what we actually think on and off the court. Nothing's off limits. We talk trade requests. What's the vibe of that when it's like your star player is like, well, I want to leave?
Starting point is 00:14:37 And then actually now I'm going to stick. We talk tanking. I mean, honestly, like, I might get in trouble for this answer, but I think it's like definitely happening in the WMBA. And yeah, we talk about our mistakes too. They pulled me to the side and was like, hey, man, we got a call last night, man. You can't be rolling around the city like this tonight before games, no, you know, doing this, doing whatever. And of course, family stories. They'll be like, Mommy, why did you miss that?
Starting point is 00:15:05 Mommy, do you play basketball? Check out Game Recognized game with Stoian Miles on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Daniel Jeremiah, and I'm Greg Rosenthal. And this is 40s and free 80s. The games may be over, but the NFL never stopped. This is my favorite part of the calendar. Yeah, mine too, Greg, free agency, the combine, the NFL draft pro days, trades. This is where teams reshape their future. This is where Daniel Jeremiah makes his money. On 40s and free agents, we break down every move that actually matters. From my draft evaluations, mock drafts, and team
Starting point is 00:15:45 fits to my top 101 free agents and how real rosters are built, cap space, contracts, and all the tough decisions included. You got quarterbacks on the move. We got teams rebuilding. It's hope season. Yeah, absolutely. It's hope season. We'll tell you what's real, what's noise, and what it means for your favorite team.
Starting point is 00:16:04 Smart analysis, real conversations every week. I'm not about the smart, but definitely analysis. Listen to 40s and free agents on the I-Heart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. The Bobby Bone Show. All right, here's a voicemail that should make somebody on the show feel good. I think Eddie's salsa bit is funny every time. I think it's a better bit that he keeps saying it and you can't stop or supposedly can't stop than just saying it once in it being funny.
Starting point is 00:16:35 I've called before. I'm going to call it again. I'm going off my boy Eddie, right? Oh, that's my dude. I think it's your oldest son. I thought he sounded familiar. Hey, guys, it's not a bit. Like, that's how I say salsa.
Starting point is 00:16:47 I've never said salsa or however you say it. No, just salsa. Salsa. Salsa. Never said that. my life. There was an extra effect on it as all we were saying while we were singing the song. Oh, the 12 days of Christmas? Yeah. I also think there's something to his point of if you keep doing it, it stays funny if you just beat it to death. But it's like getting a haircut, you know,
Starting point is 00:17:09 and then growing your hair out. There's an awkward stage always from when it's normal and then when it gets good again. And you're in that awkward stage where it's not funny to us right now. You don't think it's funny that I say satsa? One time. So should I listen to my boy and just keep saying it? Your boy sounds 15. I mean, if it's how you say it, then that's what you have to stick with. That's what I'm saying. That's just how I say it, guys.
Starting point is 00:17:31 Yeah, be yourself. Hey, play this other one about Eddie. Eddie is what we would refer to as a snow plow parent where you go and find your kids and just move all the problems out of the way for them so they never have to experience any struggles. All right, have a great day. Bye. So there's a helicopter parent that hovers
Starting point is 00:17:49 but is always hovering watching but from a bit of a distance there's a Velcro parent which is right by the side attached. Stick to them. And then there's a snow plow parent. Wow, so you just take all the problems away
Starting point is 00:18:01 that way they just have a normal life. No, that's not a normal life. What do you mean? If you remove all the problems and a kid or a human never faces adversity when they finally do face it, they'll struggle extra. Yeah, they're not going to know what to do.
Starting point is 00:18:13 Oh. But I mean, you want them to have a good life, right? That's why you let them go through hard things early so when they hit hard things later, hard things don't completely reshape their path. Dang, okay. Sometimes the hardest thing to do as a parent is to do nothing. Dang. I can do that easily.
Starting point is 00:18:30 No, that's at work. Just sit around. That doesn't seem like what you do. I think you're a good parent, but I think you're way in the mix. Yeah, I wonder what made the, what he shared that made the caller do that because I don't remember. I think years and years of being on the show. Data. Data.
Starting point is 00:18:46 That's a lot of data. Data. They compiled five years of data. Okay, thank you for the voicemails. You can always call us and leave a voicemail if you want. If you have it, tell me something good on a voicemail. Let us know. We'd love to hear those as well.
Starting point is 00:18:59 877 77-77-B-O-B-B-B-WI. Harvard Research reveals the couples who spend money on services that save them time and effort, enjoy their relationships more. Those would be like house cleaning or even ordering takeout. because what that does is it saves one or both of them from having to cook and do the dishes. I feel like do the dishes isn't counted in there as much. Your thoughts? Yeah, I mean, I think if that's part of your budget and you can swing that, that's, yeah, that could be great. According to a six-week study, busy dual-income couples who made time-saving purchases on a given day
Starting point is 00:19:37 reported being happier and more satisfied with their relationships, even if you can't afford to outsource bigger household chores. this behavioral scientist says that even a little bit helps free up time to connect. So they're saying even if you can't afford it, do it? What I feel like they're saying is if you can find a way to afford it. Gotcha. It's probably, it should probably be made a priority if it can be if you're having trouble connecting. Yeah, like maybe when you are budgeting, like yes, like you just said make it a priority. Put it at the top of the list so that y'all can have more time to connect.
Starting point is 00:20:11 I like it. Let me ask you a personal question. Yeah. How many dinners a week do you eat with your boyfriend? It depends on the week. Like, on average, one. You mean, like, with the whole family? Just if you're having dinner or supper, depending on where you are.
Starting point is 00:20:30 Yeah. How many of those a week do you have with your boyfriend? I'll say one to two times a week. We try to either he'll come over with all of his kids or all go over with mine. It's rarely, or if I am kid-lily. that week because they're with their dad. I'll pop over for dinner, which is great because he is, he works full time and then he's got his kids. And so he does have someone like that helps him with the kids and cooking. So I go over there and I feel like I get a meal. No, we heard the golf
Starting point is 00:20:58 club is a member of. He probably has every kinds of people. No, he's on tuxedo's running around. It's not like I show up and like dinner is made and I sit down and I eat. And then I'm like, okay, cool. So I should make it over there a little bit more. than I do because it's nice. Oh, I do now. But yeah, that's probably, yeah. Is that, should I try to make it more? No, I just wondered.
Starting point is 00:21:22 I didn't know what you guys day-to-day routine was like. Yeah, no, it's hard sometimes. And they've a lot of sports and there's basketball games. So then they eat a lot later. That's what it is, Bobby, honestly. Sometimes he's like, okay, we're probably going to eat dinner on 7.7.30. And I'm like, ooh. You know what?
Starting point is 00:21:36 Great point. That's a little late. We a lot of times don't join friends or invites if they say, let's go to dinner and we're like, great, what time? Seven. Oh, oh, something just came up. You know what came up. We eat at five. Exactly. I'm like, can we do 4.30? A win is a win. A win. A win is a win. I don't care what I'm saying. Yep, that's me, Clifford Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, my basketball and college football journey, or my career in sports media.
