I told him to raise his hand if you ever needed to go to the bathroom or a pause or anything.

And you know what he does? He raises his hand right when I start. You remember like when you were at school, you'd put your hand up and you see that one kid who's like got his hand up and then he's sitting in his other hand. He's like, oh, over here, over here. Oh, I know the answer. Oh, I have to go bathroom. I didn't even ask for it. I had to go a bathroom and I just would leave.

You just peace out? Just peace out. Dang, I wasn't that rebellious. I thought I was pretty bad, but you take the cake. I didn't care. I had the respect of everyone as far as teachers go. So it was like, if I was going to the bathroom, I had to go to the bathroom. So it was whatever.

Or I had some kids who would go to the bathroom and they'd have sex with some girl. That would happen a lot. That took a really dark time. How old were you? At high school. Okay. Yeah, I remember these two kids. I thought you were thinking like middle school or something.

I was like, no, high school. Okay, okay. Yeah, the bathrooms were pretty gross there. My high school. That's public school. You were private school girl? Anyways, no, I was in public school. No, okay. None of that. Weird stuff happened to your privates or public school?

I didn't spend a lot of time in the bathroom if I'm being honest. Okay. Well, you knew when one kid had to go to the bathroom and then 10 seconds later, another kid had to go to the bathroom. And then 10 seconds later, this girl had to go to the bathroom. And they all came back together a little sweaty and messy. You knew what was going on in the bathroom. Yeah, I don't think that was happening in our public rush. Can't say that. I recall that one.

Okay. I love, love, love when scuba is on. That's from Pebbles in Oregon. Pebbles. You know Michelle and Apple Valley? Apple, Valerie. She loves it. But she said, my podcast with my boyfriend might have taken the cake. Okay.

Over you. I don't know, though. All right. She was in between. She's like, but it's up there with them. Yeah. Well, at least with mine, there's consistency. You will get me at least every six to seven weeks.

Yeah. You'll always get to hear from you. Totally. Yeah. Which boyfriend of mine might be a tour off and you may never happen again. Totally. Or it could happen all the time. Yeah.

Or it becomes a co-host like Mike and his wife. Who knows? What is your five-year career plan? Amy and Mississippi. Amy, I love that. everyone is saying their name and where they are from. Yeah, they got you. I appreciate that.

This also kind of lets me know where everyone's at geographically located and where they're listening from. My five-year plan is to personally and professionally or both? Or just in general? I think in general. Okay. Well, in general, family, obviously, successful and everyone's good and they enjoy wherever they're at in school and life.

My wife, hopefully at that point, could be either a stay-at-home mom or more of like a hybrid of less work and more helping out at the house, which I think. we're trying to balance that out at this moment because I'm working even more and she's still working and then her I mean essentially being a mother is a full-time job as well because you're having to take them to school and pick them up and do all that stuff until I get home so it'd be nice for her not have to have to work because right now we need the financial assistance of two paychecks but it'd be great if they always say what was the 30 70-70 rule or 70-30 rule where your bread and butter is something that pays your bills but there's that 30% that you

you really enjoy and one day a 30% becomes your 70% yeah exactly or your 100% so so right now my 70% is this job working with bobby and you guys but my 30% is my own show and eventually the goal is to flip that to where my own show supports me and my family so i can just have the i can have the one and then it makes enough money to where my wife can just focus on the kids and maybe have like a side gig or something that she just really enjoys to make extra money for vacations and stuff so that's the That's the five-year plan. The five-year plan is to flip the 30 into 100. I love that for you.

And you're on your way. You're headed that direction. Yeah, we're from nights to after afternoons in less than two months. And then now, after having afternoons now for a couple weeks, the goal is to then make afternoons into more markets and then syndicated and rule the rock market. Are you going to try and stay in the afternoon? Is that your plan? I don't know.

I just kind of open to what happens. Yeah, I'm not married to any particular. I obviously want either mornings or afternoon drive. Morning's a little bit more difficult now because we're a morning show. But afternoon drive, I wouldn't mind that either if it was a nationally syndicated afternoon show. So I'm not going to pigeonhole myself into one or the other. But yeah, I definitely don't want to do like a syndicated midday show or a night show.

It's just not the QM there for it. No one's not many of listening, not a big listening audience. Not as interactive on the phones and stuff. So I need something in drive time. So I don't care. Either one's fine. Okay. Look at that, Amy. Does HR ever get involved with the show? This is Carrie in El Paso, Texas. I cannot say. I know. I saw that question and I was like, well, I don't really know that we can talk about that. But I mean, I think we're like any other job. HR is always part of the equation.

They've never gotten involved with like personnel within the show, but they've gotten involved because of some crazy stuff that has happened with people outside the show that listened to the show that did something weird. I'll just say that. Okay. I like it. That's a good answer. But we do have HR. Like, we do have actual HR. It's more correlated with IHart, but that's still part of our company.

Yeah, like back in the day, I don't know when you were working here if it was still a thing. But we used to have an HR person for every single cluster. We had one HR person. Yeah. No, we did too. Okay, cool. And then it became where they now they have just the one or a small group based in San Antonio or wherever they live. And they're all online.

Yeah, they're all online. Yeah, I don't even know they're real. You zoom in. Yeah. They're real. The AI. what the hell is it, but I know we had one back of the day. It was awesome in Orlando.

Her name was Fran. She was sick. Yeah. We had a really good one in Wichita, too, when I worked there. I remember that. Are you enjoying doing the rock show? This is from Mary in Kentucky. Yes, Mary in Kentucky.

I'm enjoying it. By the way, in Kentucky, this radio station that I'm on has such a massive stick where it bleeds all the way into, because I people that listen to Kentucky. And I'm like, oh, you're on the I-Heard app. Like Jen and West Kentucky calls often. She listens on the actual physical, terrestrial radio. because the station bleeds that far north. That's crazy.

Yeah, so it goes all the way north into Kentucky. It goes south and Alabama. And it goes all the way east like going towards Chattanooga and then west towards Memphis. It has, I think, within our either the company or this area, it's the strongest radio station. So you can listen to it. She probably can listen to it where she's at. Yeah. So if you try to see if you can get on 105.9 in your area.

And then if you hear a rock station, then that's it. That's good to see from 3 to 7. 3 to 7 p.m. Central, yeah. But I'm enjoying it. I'm loving it. It's awesome. It's definitely a dream of mine to have my own show. And so being able to chase it and living in the moment and being impressive with it is pretty awesome. It's exhausting. But I know that it's paying off. So it's worth having. What's the same? Anything worth having is going. It's not easy. I can't remember. I only got the first half if I'm being honest with you. It's like my brain just like died. I think anything worth having isn't easy. I think it's what it is. Is anything worth? having isn't, let's see what the quote is. Yeah.

Because they're always... Nothing in this world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, and difficulty. That's from Theodore Roosevelt. I knew there was a quote. And I feel like it's been transformed over the years to basically the mindset of like if it's awesome and you love it, it's not going to be easy to obtain it and to maintain it.

Yeah. Like anything worth having isn't easy. Yeah. It's kind of the short version. But Mr. Teddy. Mr. Teddy Roosevelt. Theodore. What is your favorite part about being a girl dad?

That's from Paul in Texas. Oh, I figure about me. Oh, gosh. There's a lot of scary things that I'm for the future to come. I get so nervous because guys, no, guys are, you know. I'm very well aware. Yeah. And I have two girls.

So it's like, oh, man, but my wife always sends me like these things on Instagram about how raising a daughter versus a son is completely different. And essentially that the father is the voice that the daughter will always hear in her head, even become, even later on life as an adult, whatever we instill in the son. them or however we act or react or communicate any of that kind of stuff it lives with them forever and two ways one where the voice in their head but then also it's how you treat your daughters how they will then expect to be treated when they are dating so it's like it's a lot i feel like it's a very important role to play in this and then also not having a father and then seeing my sister's not having a

father and the struggle of that. So I'm a little bit more over the top of like, I got to be there. I got to make sure I'm involved and all that. So yeah, it's a really important role and scary. But I think the best part about it is knowing that whatever I say and do will leave a lasting impact. So that's pretty cool in the sense that I'm very conscious of how I act because of that. So I think that's really special. And then just my daughter, my middle daughter, she loves me. I call her my little B-boop. Be-boop. Sounds like a Pixar character.

Yeah. Yeah. She loves me so much. And the funny thing is she loves my wife, obviously, and she was our first daughter. And so my wife was so excited when she was born. And I think for the first couple years, they had a special bomb. But then when she hit two, like, I became the most important thing ever. And like, there's things that my wife, she's like, trying to get into brush her teeth

and they won't brush their teeth. They can't, they won't do it. And I come up and they'll brush their teeth. And I'm like, oh, this is really cool. Yeah. Like they love me and listen to me. You know, it was really funny. My relationship with my mom and dad was probably very similar.

My mom and I were so much alike. Yeah. That's often why I leaned more into my dad because he wasn't alike me. So I like, I listened to him better because listening to my mom was like listening to myself in a way. He buttheads a little bit because of it. Yeah. And so I do think there's some of that when it comes mother and daughter. Like you have a, like I have a friendship with my mom that I could have never imagined and it's awesome.

But I always did, like when I was younger and as a kid, I certainly listened to my dad better just because of that personality type. Yeah. It's interesting how that works. So I wonder if that pans out for most mom, daughter and father, son situations or father-daughter situations. Yeah. Or if that's just like usual, like specific to every person. I'm sure it is a little bit. But I'm so curious to see how it pans out for you guys because the dad's little girl thing is very real.

Yeah, I know. really is and I never really saw that but now I'm seeing I'm like oh this is the thing yeah and even when she was born I was like oh I love her but like I didn't realize how much I was going to love her until like it all started to become a thing I was like whoa she's like she loves me so much and then I love her so much oh like she literally could be in my skin if she could yeah yeah that's a dad's little girl she's like and that's how she's going to look at it for the rest of her life and that's where that impact comes from so yeah just you know I mean my dad did all the right things he He raised me to be very self-sufficient and very independent.

You're super independent, yeah. Yeah, and to trust who I am and be my own person. And you're like that, scuba. So you're going to instill that in your daughter. Yeah, I feel like the independence. Yeah, I think that's huge because then you attract the right people or the right person that you should be with through the independence. And anyone that is afraid of that or is against it, it's just insecure in themselves and is looking for a non-independent. They say they want independent, but they really don't.

Like the fact that you owned your own house, had your own car, paid your own bills, all that kind of stuff was, I think it's huge and eventually would attract the right person, which it has finally for you, which is awesome, you know? Yeah. So I think, I think that's huge. No, you're fine. It's not a different text. Okay. Yeah, yeah. Not the text.

It was waiting for a very specific text. Yes, yeah. But yeah, no, it definitely was special and I really credit my dad. My mom and dad both, they both play a huge role. but my dad very much instilled in me that independence, and I'm very grateful for that. Oh, yeah. That's awesome.

You know, you do all the right things. I have no doubt that she's going to be an awesome kid. But I love hearing girl dads talk about their kids. It's one of my favorite things to hear about. Totally. And then the little one, she's awesome too, but she's still in that phase where she loves mom a lot because she's two. But I could start to see her slowly swinging my way a little bit.

You're like, I'm winning them both. Exactly. This is exciting. Totally. And my son's kind of indifferent. He doesn't really care. He loves both of us. and because he's seven now.

He's just like, and he also knows where to go when he wants to get what he wants to get. Yeah, well, and we didn't have any boys in the family, so I don't know how boys, like, how that parent relationship changes over time. Yeah. I'll be curious to know how that pans out, too, just over the course of their life.

And I'm like, there's so many major cities. Or Manhattan, Kansas and Manhattan, New York. Yeah. There's even a, there's even an Antioch in Tennessee, but there's also an Antioch in California,

which is where my wife's family is out in that area, like the East Bay, Antioch Concord and all that. It's weird. Yeah, how they have the same thing, but different. Sorry, I derail. No, no, no. I even think this Pittsburgh is spelled differently from that Pittsburgh. I believe one of them has like an H and one doesn't. Yeah.

I forget what to, well, I forget it. And who cares. That dang age. I know. Creation really good. I'm trying to think if there's a spot. lot like in the mission district. I always feel like there's some pretty baller-ass restaurants.

Let me look. In the mission of San Francisco. Mission District middle of San. But I'll even say if this one's still around, I know the pandemic, like whenever time I would go to visit, the pandemic would always scare me of like things being gone because they were all once there.

And then now they're not because of, you know, just things closed down or didn't make it. But there's two spots I used to love to go to. One was in the tenderloin, which is kind of a seedy area. So I'd be surprised if it still exists. but it was called the Black Cat.

It was like an underground speakeasy, like a jazz bar, but they also had food. I love a jazz bar. Oh, it was sick. It was so much fun. And then another spot was called H.R.D., which was cash only. And that was in the, like, more like the Soma area. Cash only. It was always featured on like Food Network channels.

Oh, my God. There's sandwiches. And they're, oh, it was so freaking delicious. Okay, let me see if I can find these two places. Black Cat, San Francisco. looks like it is still open. Oh, it is? Is it in like the 10-to-line area?

It says Eddie Street. Eddie Street. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, cool, sweet. And then what was the other one? H-R-D. Yeah, H-R-D, all the three letters together. It's like a coffee shop, kind of?

No. It's like a Vietnamese sandwich shop, I believe. Was it on Third Street? It was on Third. Yeah, third in Selma. It's closed. Oh, that was so amazing. Yeah, they're not reopening either.

Oh, that stinks. That one is, that's a bummer. That is a bummer because that one was delicious. I always get sad when like I try really hard to go and try new restaurants all the time. Like just even like when I say new restaurants, like I'll try and go somewhere new each time. Even if it's a place that's been here for 50 years. Yeah. I always try and go every time we go out to eat, I'm eating out a new place.

Uh-huh. And it makes me really sad when like mom and pop shops that have been around for decades shut down. And they're gone. I know. And they were so good food or drinks or whatever they do. So bummer. Okay. Yeah. And then Kingdom.

In a while I mean it's been I can't think of it let me pull my Because I'm trying to think of in person I can't think of the last pair of shoes I bought in person I'm gonna check my sneakers app To see if I bought anything recently Are you guys on a budgeting right now? You have more than enough shoes You have all the shoes you could possibly want But I was like yeah there's a few more That I'm trying to conquer of like my holy grail Of collection of shoes that I wanted from my childhood That I never got that I'm trying to buy now And one of them is a pair of Jason kids that came out in 96.

They're up tempo. I'm going to have to look them up. They recently came out with a new pair of Jason kids, but they're not the color way that I like. I like the old school where it's like that charcoal gray, black and white. Jason kid uptempo, let me see if you got the right ones.

The 96 flight uptempo or something like that. I think it's called Jason. Maybe it's called Up tempo or flight. We're doing a lot of Googling on this, best fits. These? Those are the second ones. Those ones right there, but not that color way. Okay.

So they got like a little funky wave on them. Yeah. Got a little like, it looks like balls of air on the bottom of the feet. Yes. So they're Nike's. And Nike's, yeah. Is Nike your favorite brand overall? Oh, yeah, for sure.

Okay. Yeah, Nike's my favorite brand. Nike, Jordan. Even you're just talking about those. You never said Nike. So I was like thinking they might be something else. But everything's always Nike. Yeah, that one, those ones and the ones that right there next to it, those are the air zoom flight.

I want those of the pennies from when he played in the 96 Olympics. I almost got a pair of those when we were at the Navy PX in Orlando. So my grandmother, she was like, you know, those sweet ladies like, oh, I get you what you want. And they had those shoes and they were, I think, 90 bucks back then, which was a lot of money for shoes. My budget for shoes was always like $40 and $50, like the sale rack or Payless shoes or whatever the hell we would get. I loved Payless. The Pallas sucked. I didn't love it because then you would wear these like bunk ass shack shoes or Hakeemelage ones that no one had.

And then you get your butt kick for wearing stupid shoes. I don't know my butt kick. Is that a dude thing? because I don't know. I wear all kinds of shoes. You're not wearing air walks. Like an airw... That's the crazy thing, too.

You go to Walmart now. Walmart sells airwarks. They sell Fubu. They sell lugs. They sell all the brands that were cool in the 90s. Walmart's like clothing section? Yeah. Pretty solid.

Yeah, they've done a whole revamp across the country. Yeah. Aesthetically looks more pleasing. It's like brighter. They have Reebok there now. Yeah. Like they have a lot of good brands. I was walking through.

I was buying something for a theme birthday party. I was like, oh, I would wear that. I'll wear that. And I was like, these are cool clothes. And yeah, they, Walmart notoriously was never known for that. They were more known for Walmart people. Yeah, it was not really like the best stuff. Okay. Okay. So no new pairs of shoes. And we got our last one. This is from Sarah and Tennessee. Have you tried mellow phlo. Vapes or tinctures? Yeah, they're like the like the vape cartridges and stuff. Yeah. Okay. Well, she highly recommends. So she's curious if you've tried it. I don't think I've had mellow yellow. Let me look at up. Do you vape? I haven't in a long time because it. it would give me, because of the tincters in it, it would make me sneeze every time I'd hit it. So you're allergic to vaping? Yeah, I think it's the, whatever the tincters are that are in there that give you the, that gives it the flavor or whatever.

There was a certain brand, and I think it was called Kingpin, which is a really good one. And they had, I think they called it raw or whatever, where basically it was because when you get most vapes, they're yellow. And this one was like a clear one. They're so hard to find. But that was the only one. It was more like organic. And it didn't have all the tincters in it would make you sneeze. and because I guess it's like a common thing

unless you are, I don't know, a superhuman and you can get through it but they would have a clear version that wouldn't make you sneeze and it was more clean but of course they don't sell it very often and when they do have it they always sell out because it's better than the other one. Yeah.

So yeah, I'm more of a just, I like flour better because I feel like, and there's pros and cons to everything. So you bake it in stuff and then you eat it? No, I just smoke it like flour like in a bowl or roll it up in a J or something. Like flour like baking flour?

No. Because listen, I know they make baking flour that does make you feel special. No. So all the different versions, there's, so there's like edibles, which could be like gummies or candy or whatever it may be. Yeah. And which those are made with like an oil. So the oil is like the base, which you would either bake.

You can get oil to bake your own stuff, but you can buy it where they put the oils in it and they sell it and they package it and they're portioned out by the milligrams and all that. there's the vaping where it's like the cartridges and all that there's the dab which is way too hard for me that's like for people who are numb and or like smoke way too much so they also do like dab bars yeah that's just too strong for me okay but then flour is basically like like buds like the actual like the traditional like from old school like just like actual what you would see yeah like the plant the plant exactly yeah but isn't there like weed flour that people bake with well that's the oil

okay so it's oil it's not flour it's oil it's oil it's oil it's oil it's oil it's oil Yeah, exactly. Yeah. So when you say flour, it was really cute that you stopped that. I was like baking flour. I really thought it was because people bake like brownies and stuff. Yeah, they use oil.

Oil or it's like in butter and they make the butter out of the THC oil or whatever. But yeah, so no, there's no actual. You probably use flour to make the brownies, whatever you're making. Yeah, but it's not weed flour like I was thinking.

Yeah, flour is like the term for like the, because when the weeds growing, it's a plant with leaves and then the buds, or you can call bud is the flower that grows out. And it's like, you know, that's where you pick that.

and dry it and smoke that. So yeah, I'm definitely more of a smoker than anything. Okay. Well, thanks for the lesson on flower. I don't know, man. Loser. I don't know. I just kidding.

I know. You know, I thought flower was, what they stayed for it? That is funny. When you're not in that culture of it, you would think, I mean, on the outside in, I'm like, oh, she was kind of right. Yeah, but spelled differently. That flower is F-L-O-U-R. This flower is F-O-W-E-R flower.

Oh, like the flower. I got it. Like a literal flour. Maybe it's the fact that I'm currently on a fast as we're doing this or the fact that I haven't eaten a lot of the foods that I love. So maybe I just was really going to food. Totally. Or you're just not educated in that world and that's totally fine. Both. Square bear. Now a square bear, is that also a terminology in that field?

No, I think it's just like in life. I have had my moments of that, but I don't know anything about the terminology. It was always done for me. And then I just participated. True. It's usually how it would be when like, when you're hanging out with girls. Oh, I got this.

Don't worry. Yeah. The move was always, you want a shotgun? And like, it was basically like you take like a blunt or a joint and you put it in your mouth where like the fire end is in your mouth. And you hold like the tip of it on this part and you blow and you can blow the smoke into someone's face. What? Yeah, it's called shotgunning. But shotguning is also a beer term.

I know. But it's in my, in this world, my world, it's that. But it would be a way to basically essentially get your lips pretty close to a girl because then you'd be like, turkey, turkey. Yeah, you want a shotgun? They're like, y'all take a shotgun. And so you put it in your mouth. So you're basically risking burning the crap out of the inside of your mouth to maybe get a kiss from this chick.

And you put it there and you blow it. And then some girls, you'd get it close enough. And then all of a sudden you're making out. But what happens to the thing? You pull it out and you make out. Or you just kiss them just to like see what it's like and then see where it goes from there. Just get a little feeling. Exactly.

Yeah. Or you just do the shotgun. You go. And you move on. That was like a stupid move like in high school. I've learned so much right now in this moment. Yeah, I should tag this one not safe for work. Unless you're in a state that participates.

There's a lot of square bears like me, okay? Yeah, true. This could be an educational thing for mothers also that have kids. They're trying to hide it. Yeah, if they talk about shotgunning, apparently now I know there's two terms. Yeah, for beer and for this. Yeah. Neither one's good.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Shotgunning a beer is way worse, though, because it's like, ugh, gross. I love shot. I was really good at shotgunning. Really? Mm-hmm. I couldn't do it. I couldn't get it to like, I couldn't open.

in my throat to get it to go down. To make that happen. Yeah. That was kind of one of my party tricks when we were in college. They'd be like, anybody wants shotgun and be all the dudes, I'm like, bring me in. Oh, my God. So cool. She's badass.

She's amazing. And I do cake stands. I love cake stands. I love a cake stands. Oh, cake stands are so much fun. My challenge for myself was always to stand on the cake stand by myself without anybody holding me. I never quite got it.

It's tough to do that. Yeah, it's tough. We had a girl one time at a house party in Daily City, San Francisco area. And I think it was her last day at work. I don't remember. It was like we were in our early 20s. And she was never did in a keg stand, but was like, I'll do it, sure. And I remember the, I'll never forget it.

We all, after she did what she did, we're like, why would you do that? Like, it doesn't make, so you have to hold, you know, you have to hold your hands up on the keg. And then someone pulls your feet up in the air. So when she was done, she just like, let go of the keg, which, which, which, but they were still holding her feet up. So if you know anything about gravity, when you let, when you let go of it, but they're holding your feet up still, bam. She smacked her face on the keg and we're all like, Stephanie, what the hell's wrong with you? Oh my gosh. She said, I didn't know what to do.

I was like, well, don't let go because they're still holding your feet up. There's a thing called gravity. That poor, that poor girl. She probably still has an injury from this day and tells that story. I'm sure, yeah, I'm sure it's part of her party stories of forever. Yeah. And she was so intelligent though. I feel like sometimes people who are just overly intelligent are not thinking about

this kind of stuff. Social skills are different than intelligence for sure. Most definitely, yeah. Yeah, she went on the move. I think she went on to work for Google and do all kinds of great things. Oh, yeah. For sure, she tells that. Yeah. Yeah. For sure. That's wild.
