Morning. It is my pleasure to introduce you. Wow. Through the means of electronic technology. This is cool. Not really. I mean, it's Amy. She's in a studio in California. Yeah, but she's in Hollywood. Amy's in Hollywood.

Yeah. I mean, we're talking to a movie star. So it's 3 o'clock in the morning where Amy is right now. Ooh. Oh, I didn't think about that. It's tough. So, Amy, good morning. Hi, I have not slept to good morning.

So I haven't spoken. I've texted Amy. I've been like, how's it going? But I don't want to know too much. But Amy has been off working on this big acting project. Amy, give me a highlight that you can share with me, like the best thing that's happened so far since you've been in Hollywood. Okay, let me think. There's been a lot of really good things that don't have to give you one right now.

It's that the wink was removed. from my scene. Wait, so okay. There was a wink in her scene and then she goes, I can't wink. So she practiced and we were like, you can't week. And then they changed it to a hug

and then they went back to a wink and then she was freaking out and now they went back to a what? A hug, yeah. I think that they realized I remember I texted you, Bobby and I was like, the wink is back because it, yeah, like you said,

it went away. And then I just started really talking to the directors and producers about how I'm struggling with the wink, and I think they saw me practicing, and they removed the wink. So how nervous were you the first time you had to do a line? Listen, I was very nervous all leading up to it, and I don't know. Something about when, like, the game day started. I don't know the best way to say. The game day. And the lights came on. Yeah. I was like, put me in, coach. I was ready. And every day. And every day. And the lights came on. I was like,

put me in coach. I was ready. And everyone there was so nice. Everyone on set has been completely amazing from the top to the bottom. Like the top top, you know, really important people. I couldn't believe it. I don't know what I had in my head because, of course, I've never worked on a movie set before, but I figured somebody was going to be a little bit, like, rude or, you know, just too good or doesn't have time for this or that. But every single person was so welcoming and comforting and encouraging. So I think that helped my nerves. So Amy is in California right now. She is not an actress, but they had requested that she come out.

And what we do know now is it is a Christmas movie, and it is on HBO Max. And so we can say that. Wow. So they said, hey, we'd like for Amy to come out and play herself in this movie. And it's a smallish role, but there are real lines. And then away she went. And she's been acting. And I do want to hear more about it.

You send an email And we read it on the air It's something we call Bobby's mailbag Yeah Hello Bobby Bones My husband's 40 years old and still wears his high school varsity jacket at least once a week. He was varsity in football and wrestling and still talks about how he won the league championship in his senior year.

Well, we didn't go to high school together, so I'm not that impressed. He wears the jacket to high school homecoming games every year. He likes to wear my 15-year-old daughter's friends. He's embarrassing himself and me, for that matter. And I don't know how to tell him. The other problem is he has three friends that are just like him, and they all still have and wear their varsity jackets. Will he ever grow out of this

Or am I stuck with a husband Who can't get over himself from high school? Signed, Desperately wanting my husband to get over himself from high school. Well, this is interesting Because I think you should just let him enjoy himself. Yeah. I'm sure he has very few things

That he just loves and is so proud of. And I think we all have ours. Lunchbox still talks about being prom king. Absolutely. Once a week we hear about it. It's an amazing honor to be prom king And to be district champ or whatever he won that takes a lot of work and sacrifice.

And so that's something he's proud of and he worked for, and you should let him brag about it for the rest of his life. Eddie has multiple saves from being a lifeguard. I do. And I have an original T-shirt that I had when I was a lifeguard then. I still wear it the other day. And it reminds me of my saves. And man, the days when I could just save people and get some sun while I was there is great,

great memories. I was captain of the Quiz Bowl, the 12th grade team when I was in seventh grade. And for five years, I ruled that. when I walked in, they knew. A little big head Bobby was here. A little guy. Yeah, the little guy with a huge head. Like, and not even, like, smart, but like huge physical head.

He meant business. So I think we all have our things. I think my adult thing is dancing with the stars. I don't let that go either. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let him have his thing. I agree. It's okay if he embarrasses you.

He enjoys it. His friends enjoy it. It's their thing. I say let him. You say? Let him, absolutely. You say? Let him and get a jacket to match his.

Oh, that was. Oh, no. Mrs. Letterman. Yeah, exactly. Then he may stop wearing it. Maybe, or then you start doing something from when you were in high school. Like wear your prom dress around or something. But we're all cool with it.

Now, I don't know that Amy would have said that. I think she's not here today. I think she probably said something like, he needs to get over him. Here, I'll be Amy. I can't believe that. My husband wore his football shirt for, he had to get rid of it myself. So I made it into a blanket. Did you sound just like her?

I was going to tell you a couple stories Amy So, Caitlin and I went to a class That was called a sound bathing class And I know that you wanted to do that I think you're just called like forest bathing or something What was it called Amy? Well, yes, forest bathing I've done But I still have sound bath on my bucket list

Okay, so we did want I had no interest So you go into this class And they play all these sounds And even Caitlin was like, what is happening here? But she wanted to do it because she thought it was interesting. So we went in and I was like, okay, I'm really going to focus. I'm going to do that. You lay down and they play all these sounds.

And it's supposed to like be some sort of meditation. I struggle with meditation. I haven't really found that it's for me. But I'm not shutting it all the way down. So I did it. And I don't know. It's an hour class. And I would say about four minutes into it.

I fell asleep. And there's a silence part of it where everything gets silence for like four minutes. And Caitlin said, all we heard is you going. Oh. Did they let you sleep or did they wake you up? let me sleep. Well, that's nice. I slept for probably half an hour. That's great. Isn't that what it's for? No, in meditation, you're supposed to be in between a wake and asleep in that space. You're not supposed to go to sleep. And I'm telling you, I don't even remember. I remember coming out of it and

I told Caitlin's say, hey, I think I've been meditating for the last half hour. She's like, no, you've been asleep. I feel really rested after that meditation. I was like, that meditation rocks, man. I had a dream during it. It had nothing to do with this class. But yeah, I fell asleep right into it. And so we kind of had like a day where we went around and just hung out and did stuff and we got a massage. And so now that I'm down for. And I have a badly injured shoulder that's hurt me for like two years since my Nat Geo TV show. And I'm constantly doing rehab on it. And so I was just going to talk to the masseuse and say, hey, just spend time on my shoulder.

So we get in and we're getting a massage. And the masseuse, I take my shirt off and I have injured shoulder. She starts massaging me and she goes, are you a professional athlete? She did not say that. No, where's the audio? I don't record massages. I don't believe it. She said, are you, she goes, oh, you hurt your shoulder?

I was like, yeah. She goes, are you a professional athlete? Ah! Wow. Come on! And I was like, I am not, but thank you for saying that. Oh, you should have rolled with it then. Okay, I have a thought on that.

What you say? Go ahead. Well, I'm sure that is something she has learned to say to her male clients. Okay, why can you just... No. So that way they leave a bigger tip. No, why can't you just say, wow, that's very nice. of her to say that. Hey, hold on, hold on.

Because you're not a professional athlete. Did you leave a bigger tip because she said that? I left her a good tip regardless. Okay. Not bigger because she said that. Why do you guys want to take away life's little joys for me? You know?

You did scream with excitement there. She said, about three rubs in. She goes, oh, so you're injured? That's again. You go, one, two. Are you a professional athlete? Ah! It's awesome.

Let him have his joy. It's awesome. So that's what's been happening here at home. One, sound bath. Two, mistaken identity. Lunchbox turned out an acting role. What else happened in the last couple of days that we could share with Amy? Anything?

I feel she's been gone. Oh, I didn't pay attention to something. Eddie got punished. No way. Amy, I know if anyone's going to understand what I went through, it was brutal. You're going to understand. I just spaced. And literally, what is it?

Five seconds after he said it, I asked the same question. So he's got a bark like a dog in a public place for 30 seconds now. Oh my gosh. We'll do it next week. Yeah, also Jason Aldeen called the show. Oh, that was great yesterday. You missed that. Wait, why?

Okay, so we had Reese on, who is a sixth grade girl, and she called and said, hey, is there any way I can get Jason Aldine to come to Springfield, Missouri, and do my talent show with me? And I said, well, that's interesting. Probably not, but he could be listening right now. So let's see what happens. I said, the thing to do would be to ask him for, like, a video to set up. up your performance instead of asking him to come because he's probably busy, a celebrity.

And Jason texted me immediately. He's like, hey, I'm listening. So then we called him on speaker phone, talk to him. And Jason's like, boom, I'm going to make that video and send it up. It was amazing. It was so organic and he just happened to me listening right when it happened. That is so special. I love that so much. And then Eddie's not snoozing anymore. Yeah, I'm on day what? Day one of no sneezing. He's trying. What's your advice, Amy? I would say you just have to stick with it. The minute you're alarm goes off, pop out of bed, no excuses, just get up. And obviously, the longer you do it, the easier it will get. But trust me, the beginning is rough. You just have to stick with it,

though. I already ran into my first problem. So I'm just habit of snoozing, but I got up. I snoozed, but I popped up, jumped in the shower. Oh my gosh, the alarm woke up the whole family. Because I didn't, I'm just used to snoozing. So the alarm went off while I was in the shower. Yeah, that's tough. That's on you, though, buddy. That's just growing things. That's on you. He's still getting used to his new legs after having what he calls life-altering surgery. He underwent a procedure that would make him permanently taller. And so about $75,000, he went in at $5.7. It's a weeks-long process of lengthening and then surgery and then $5.10, which is about an inch taller than the average American man. Average man's 5'9. Really? That's weird.

I'm so big. We're above average. We're huge. Eddie's six foot. Thank you. He's not. My, yes, my ID says 511, but I mean, that's originally when I was 18. I never changed it.

Well, we measured, we stood beside show, then I was about this much taller than him. I mean, it may be smaller. Pinch it a little closer. So I like to say Eddie's six foot. Eddie, you're now six foot. Oh, you're six one. And they made us take our shoes off because in shoes now, I'm like six to four. Your wife saw us and she said we're about the same.

No, she did. I'm a little taller. Scott has 25 works in digital media said he was looked down upon because of his size. so they wouldn't have this done. Painful, but he's three inches taller. Ray, if someone offered you this for free, because you're 5'6, if someone said, for free, we'll hook you up, but it's going to hurt.

Would you do it? Yeah, I would do it. It's probably going to affect your running. I'm not going to ever be an athlete and play professionally, so there's no real reason for me to do it. I'm married. It's not like it's going to be in my jeans for my kids. So really, unless it's free,

there's no point for me to get height surgery. Well, maybe you think people aren't giving you a fair shake because you're short. No, I'm good. I got the personality makes up for it. Oh, cool. Is there, Ray, is there discrimination towards that? Do you feel that?

The only thing it sucks at is bars. What I've realized sometimes when I dip into one, man, everybody's tall in those. So if you're trying to talk to somebody, you're like, hey, yeah, it's been good at work. How are you? I thought you're going to say you couldn't get the tension of the bar turn until they couldn't see you.

Look out of here, man. Hey, man, love, down about me. Don't forget, you're a short king, and it's short king's spring. Yep. Okay, so all this spring, it's about you. Yep. So we had a doctor on back in January of

2021 that actually did this. So when I read this story, I was like, wow, we've had this guy. Oh, wow, that's right. So his name is Dr. Kevin. His limb lengthening surgeries went viral. And so he had a guy that was 5-11. Now, 6-2 after the surgery. And so here's the first clip where I was like, hey, how much is this cost?

Johnny is the starting price for one surgery is about $75,000. So it's not cheap. The implant itself takes up more than half of the percentage of that, of that, of that price. So it's a pretty expensive procedure. $75,000. Yeah. So you're getting three inches taller. It's basically $25,000 an inch. But that's a huge difference in height. I just wonder how weird you look.

Like, you're just three inches taller. Like you didn't put on any weight. Right. It's just like, uh-huh. Right. And what are they, there isn't, aren't they adding stuff to your back or something? So your legs don't get longer. You may look a little out of proportion. I asked him and say, hey, how much taller can you get? Like, okay, two, three inches I see, but like what's the max we could do here? In your thigh bone, you can probably get the maximum capacity of the nail, which is about 80 millimeters, which is almost 3.2 inches.

In the lower leg, which is the tibia bone, you could probably safely get anywhere between two and a half to three inches. So in combination, you can get close to six inches apart. So it is legs. Okay, so it's legs. But you could go six inches up, right? Think about your life how different it'd be if you were six foot tall. You and I'd be looking eye to eye having chats, man to man, man.

man just standing there in the hallway. It'd be fine now, but in 30 years, it would be bad news. Instead of now, you make me sit down to talk to you, and I don't like that. I'm kidding. He doesn't. And then my question, too, how long would it take to recover? And so we asked us doctor who does limb lengthening surgeries. Here you go. Generally, we keep you in hospital for approximately two days, but we get you up walking

within four hours after the surgery, usually with a walking aid. And generally, you're off that age in about two weeks or so. and back to your normal activities by driving, going back to office work, that's what it's up by the two-week mark. I wonder if you're all goofy like a baby deer. Right, not knowing how to use your legs. Bambi.

Okay. Oh, okay. Yeah. Oh, yes. Okay, I'm ready. All right, a woman named Natalie noticed in vacation pictures from Disney World that her husband and her nanny were a bit too close while riding Splash Mountain.

And so she called him on it. She says that her now ex-husband and her former nanny are living together and just had a baby. Okay, so she was right. Natalie says the nanny filed a police report against her for calling her a bad name. The charge of been dropped.

But yes, she saw them in a picture way too close. The nanny was like leaning her head onto his shoulder. Yeah, I get it. And it was going to... Because at first I'm thinking roller coaster, you're just there, you're there. You have no choice of how close you are. are, but if you're leaning in, holding on to them.

One, they're writing together. Then two, it's a little too close. I get it. Three mistakes that can cost you more money at the grocery store if you're not paying attention. This is from Go banking rates. Number one, shopping without a plan. If you go to the grocery store, you need to know at the grocery store what you're going to get and then go and get it.

If you go without a plan, you go all will and nilly, looking everywhere, getting everything. Oh, that looks good. Oh, I might make this. All of a sudden, there's a bunch of stuff that you're never eating. It just looks good at the moment because you might be hungry. Yeah. The next one is not using curbside pickup. Ordering online for curbside pickup isn't just convenient.

It's a way to stay focused. That's good. Because you're on the app and you're ordering and you're not seeing all the potato, all the things again. I was to go back to number one. Yep. You're ordering only what you need. So it's not even so much about the curbside. It's the fact that you're on, it doesn't look at it ago when you're scrolling your finger.

You just get what you need and not what you want. And then finally, the name brand reflex. So they point out that people are prone to reach for a name brand items at the supermarket, but opting for store brands can save you a 30 to 40 percent. So if you just go with the open mind of if there are similar products, I don't have to get fruit loops. I can get boot loops. Grab those.

They'll taste the same. Yeah, same. Yeah. Well, the cereal, I don't know if that might be a little bit different, but like a can of beans or a can of tomatoes, like all of that is totally the same. New research has found that around seven hours of sleep is the ideal night's rest, with insufficient and excess sleep associated with almost the same things. Like if you get too little sleep and too much sleep, you don't pay attention as well. It's hard to remember and learn new things, solve problems, make decisions. But seven hours is if you are middle age, that's what you need. Eight and a half to nine as you get older. You need more sleep. Which is why, Eddie, you get a little more.
