Starting point is 00:02:45 Get started at redfin.com. Own the dream. Welcome to Thursday show. Morning studio. Morning. Lunchbox is upset because he got fished, like scammed through his email. And we always make fun of Amy. Yeah, you do.
Starting point is 00:03:10 One scam after another. If it ends in why, that's the day Amy gets scammed on. That's right. You know, that's the running joke. But today, lunchbox comes to us with this story. Yeah, I got scammed by the nerds at work. Like, we have these nerds that send out these emails and they try to fish us. Well, they got me.
Starting point is 00:03:25 But they're doing it to teach you a lesson. But yes, here's the problem, though. The email came from security notifications at iHeartmedia.com. What is our company? If you look at our email address, it's iHeartMedia. What did you do wrong? What did they say you did wrong? They said it wouldn't say iHeartMedia.com
Starting point is 00:03:43 who just have the person's name. I'm like, how am I supposed to- Okay, but that's a good lesson to learn. But no one will be able to email you from iHeartmedia.com unless they're in our company. They can't create iHeartmedia.com email without being in our company. Like, I don't understand their joke.
Starting point is 00:04:02 It's not a joke. So this is what they're doing. Yeah. They are running these scamming. in fishing scams in-house to make sure people know once they fall for it, not to fall for it again, because the next time it happens, it could be bad. It could be somebody hacking. Somebody that sends you a file, you open it, now they get access to your computer.
Starting point is 00:04:22 So what happens inside the company, two things. One, I'm looking at your email, and in big bold letters from it, it says external. So we're already taught, don't sign into anything claiming they're from us. This is external because all of us is on an inside server. so it says external. You didn't see that part? No. Do you see it right now?
Starting point is 00:04:42 Well, I see iHeardmedia.com. No, no, no, no. Do you see huge letters, external? Huge. And in parentheses, all caps. Yeah, I do. Yeah. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:04:50 So do you remember that one where they said, don't believe anything that says external if it's coming from in-house? No, I don't. See, that's what I'm saying. Like, they send these stupid emails and it's like, okay. You know he gets scammed all time and doesn't tell us. No, no.
Starting point is 00:05:04 You know that's what's happening. No, no. I got scammed once. And so I started. ignoring all these emails. And then they started giving things away like, oh, a free barbecue grill for Labor Day. You know, I'm like...
Starting point is 00:05:13 And you think that's real? No, it is real. Then they announced the winners, and I'm like, well, now I'm missing out on things. So then... I think the winner announced was fake news. So then I get this one and I'm like, well, someone tried to attempt to sign in my computer from New York.
Starting point is 00:05:27 That's weird. And it says iHeartmedia.com, got to be it. And what do you know? It's the stupid nerds. And they're like, hey, we got me. You think they're sitting in a room with their little glasses and high-fired? Why are you calling the nerds when they're doing their job to keep you safe? They ain't trying to keep me safe.
Starting point is 00:05:44 Hey, Yosemite Sam, call him down for a second. He's yelling. You got to imagine, though, the guys with a tape on their glass, in the middle of their glasses, sitting there going, yeah, we got one down in Nashville. Okay, so you were, you're scammed, you were fished. Anything that says is coming from in the company, it'll say external. They've told us before, don't open that. No, here's the thing.
Starting point is 00:06:04 I'm never going to reply to another email. I get. You know what I do? I haven't been in my company email in over a year. I don't even get in it. Me neither. I don't open it.
Starting point is 00:06:11 I don't know the password. If for some reason I have to log into something at work, you know who knows on my info? Mike D. And I'm like, hey, do you know what password to get into my info? And he's like, sure do.
Starting point is 00:06:19 And then I log in. I don't answer emails. I've gotten five promotions. I haven't been opened them. Oh. So that's the solution. Yep. Just don't answer your word emails.
Starting point is 00:06:26 I'm in the same spot though. I haven't accepted a single promotion because they only sent them via email. Oh, okay. So be careful on why you open lunchbox. I know, but it said iHeartMedia.com.
Starting point is 00:06:37 Did you download something from them though? No, it just, you clicks on it. It says, Okay, you clicked a link. Yeah, you click a link. Yeah. And you click the link to do what again? To change my password because...
Starting point is 00:06:47 So then you put in your old password. Yes. Oh, man. Okay. And then... He's like, well, they told me you put in my soul security. And then I get the email saying,
Starting point is 00:06:54 did we get you? Oh, it looks like we did. Oh, it looks like we did. Do they sound like seals? Are they going to really do it? Yeah. I didn't. Hey, hey, high calculator and they calculated.
Starting point is 00:07:05 You're nerd and your mind, that's like a 1983 nerd. Like revenge of the nerds. Yes, pocket protector glass. Literally, that's not a thing anymore. And also, nerds kind of rule the world now. Who do we talk about? Elon Musk. Nerd.
Starting point is 00:07:17 Mark Zuckerberg. Major nerd. Yeah. Me? Nerd. A real. All right, let's get going here. Don't open anything if you're not 100% sure, everybody.
Starting point is 00:07:27 And then the one where they text you and they go, hey, is this you? link and you're like wait well it is me oh crap just don't click into anything it's time to open up the mailbag you send an email and we read it all the air it's something we call bobby's mailbag yeah hello bobby bones
Starting point is 00:07:49 my boyfriend of five and a half years and I just started living together about three months ago just about everything's been going well except for the fact that he never wants to pay me back for anything we agreed from the start that we're going to split everything halfway like rent, groceries, bills. He has a full-time job. Makes more than I do. On top of that, I'm still a full-time college student trying to pay for it all out of pocket. I'm not asking him to compensate any of my half. Just simply pay his half of the bills without trying
Starting point is 00:08:18 to come up with the reasons why he shouldn't have to pay me back. If you give me any advice and I should handle this, it'd be greatly appreciated. Sincerely a stressed out girlfriend. Amy, you want to go first on this one? Red flag. Big red flag. That's a good answer. Huge. I mean, Red flag. Make note of this. And I think that this is a conversation that has to be had. Like, you can avoid this for as long as you want, but it's not going to end up good for your relationship. So have the talk and tell him this is how you're feeling. Like, I'm working really hard. We agreed on splitting things, and I don't feel like you're showing up. This is a red flag and a potential really red flag, meaning you get them the opportunity to prove
Starting point is 00:08:57 that it's not a red flag. So you go to him? You have to go to them. And you have to go and be right on the nose about it and go, you're not paying me back for my stuff and I don't have the money. So we got to make sure that we're doing a better job. I can do a better job of reminding you. Put a little bit of that on yourself just to make it easier for that conversation. Because I found that even if you're upset about something and it's all Amy's fault, if I find a reason that it's partially my fault too, then it puts her a bit of ease. So let's say she goes to him, she goes, hey, I'm dying here. Like, I don't have any money because you're not paying me back. Now I understand part of that's my fault too because I'm not being good
Starting point is 00:09:29 about reminding you. So I commit to doing a better job of reminding you. And can you please commit? Now, this is where he has a chance to prove that it's not a long, long life red flag. Because if you have that conversation, he still like, I don't know that he's the guy. Yeah, run. But if he goes, oh, okay. And then he does a better job.
Starting point is 00:09:46 He just have to get right every time. But it's a better job. Then you're like, okay, this is a character flaw that he probably doesn't even know he has. But I would definitely approach it. Be straight up about it. You can even Venmo request. him. If you have that, just requesting the money.
Starting point is 00:10:03 And then that brings up a comment. Hey, I see you a Venmo request. You may have forgotten to send me. There are many ways to approach it. Just don't give him all 100% of the blame and 100% of the defensive feeling. A little bit of that's on you, even though it's not.
Starting point is 00:10:19 You can do it. And then if he still sucks at it, I don't know that that's the guy. Yeah, definitely not. There's nothing attractive about that whatsoever. Yeah, it's a tough. And you could even, I don't know, this might be an option too, as part of the conversation that Bobby just said, could be like, hey, how can we work together to make, like, what would work for you every month to make sure that we get this done? And how can I do better to, you know, do my part and this is where I'm putting the money.
Starting point is 00:10:46 Or maybe, like, you keep like a piece of paper and he sees it. Just send him a letter to the mail. Or the invoice. Invoice them. All right, there's your mailbag. That's your email. Thank you. A stressed out girlfriend.
Starting point is 00:10:56 I'm rooting for you to be less stressed. But before you get less stress, you got to get a little more stressed. But like Ramundo says, Ray, say it? Yeah, less stress, more life. There you go. Interesting. Boom, don't really get it. But yes, I did get it.
Starting point is 00:11:08 All right, that's what's up. Close the mail bag. We've got your email and we've read it on the air. Now it's about to close Bobby's mailbag. Yeah. Matthew in South Carolina is on the phone. Hey, Matthew, good morning. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:11:24 How's going, buddy? Pretty good. What can it do for you? Yeah, I was calling about lunchtime. I was wondering why he had to get a long start. If a tree fell on his house, wouldn't he be able to go to his insurance company? That's a good question. For those that are new to the show, a tree fell on lunchbox's house, I don't know, like summer 69.
Starting point is 00:11:40 How long ago was that? I was like two and a half months ago. And it still isn't fixed? No. Why didn't insurance pay for it? Well, no, no, no. That's not a big deal. I have to pick a contractor insurance, you know, the red wire tapes, things like that.
Starting point is 00:11:53 I don't know what you're saying? Red wire tapes? Yeah, you know, what are the, uh, that's not. Yellow tape. You know what I mean? You got to do these hurdles. Why didn't you use insurance if there's still a hole in your roof? Well, I could. Okay, why is he stumbling around? He said could. Matthew, I don't know what's going on.
Starting point is 00:12:07 Here's the problem. Back in the day, they gave me some insurance money for fixing my roof and I didn't fix it. Matthew nailed it. Yes, but I'm also holding out hope now that I can be on a TV show and they'll fix it. But you have to pay for that. Yeah, I'd get a loan. This guy. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:12:27 Like, why they're there, like redoing the kitchen, redoing the bathroom or whatever. But you got to pay for that, too. I know I'll get a loan. But, I mean, I might as well just get one loan and lump it all together. And that way I'm on TV. And boom, superstar. If Amy's sister's show does come to your house. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:45 One, you have to pay for it. Two, it's going to be months away. So you're going to live with a hole in your roof for months. No, it didn't get me months away. But also, I would like to just say. We just talked to them a couple weeks ago. I mean, I figure another couple of weeks ago. weeks they'd be here. You think another couple weeks
Starting point is 00:12:58 going to have the production? They haven't even announced a second season of the show. Yeah, it's not even, there's no green light on season two yet they're just doing the preliminary stuff they have to do. And I'll also say it's a design show, not a fix-it repair show. Well, I can design my roof. While they fix it. Yeah, why they fix it.
Starting point is 00:13:16 Exactly. Thank you. Yeah, good call. Hey, Matthew, you nailed it, though. He is shady and he got some insurance money for something, didn't use it, and now he doesn't want to go back again. I hear that. I figure Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, you know what I could do. What's that?
Starting point is 00:13:32 I could cancel my insurance and buy a new insurance company and then claim it. You know, one of my favorite segments on the Bivone show is fraud in the morning. All right, guys. Would that work? Maybe. Go ahead for it. Don't they communicate with each other? They shouldn't know.
Starting point is 00:13:46 What I do is I go to a different pharmacy. Yeah. And I tell them I need a prescription. I even know I got one at the other place yesterday. I think you'd probably get in trouble. that's found out. Oh. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:00 All right. Then we won't do that. Matthew, I appreciate that. You just kind of lifted a leaf off and now we see what's going on underneath. Oh, yeah. All right, buddy. Thought I'd reach out. Yeah, he did that.
Starting point is 00:14:12 The old insurance company would have to pay for it. His new insurance doesn't cover it. Yeah. I don't know anything about it, but I just know he's up to some stuff. All right. Matthew, thank you. Have a good day. See you later.
Starting point is 00:14:23 Yeah, you all too. Thank you. There he is Matthew in South Carolina. and Hollywood. Morgan number two, 30-second skinny. Craig Morgan announced a Six-City Book Tour to celebrate the release of his personal memoir, God Family Country. The tour starts September 26th in New Jersey. Dustin Lynch almost passed on his song, Party Mode. The odds were stacked against Party Mode because of the title. And in hindsight, you know, talking to Zach about it, he thought the same thing. As songwriters,
Starting point is 00:14:54 we see a title called Party Mode in your inboxing to go. That's going to be absolutely terrible. Lily Pierce says her fans have always been asking for her song, what he didn't do. I went and was playing a writer's round in Nashville and played this song, and somebody put this video up on YouTube, and I've never had a song that just organically, socially, people ask for it in everything I do. I'm Morgan. That's your skinny.
Starting point is 00:15:18 It's time for the good news. With Bobby. Tell me something good. I want to talk about this group because I really love what they're doing. Peace of mind, dog rescue. is a nonprofit and their whole deal is to be a resource to senior people and to senior dogs. So they're in Pacific Grove, California. They work with seniors who need to forfeit their animals because, well, sometimes they can't
Starting point is 00:15:42 keep up with them or they're ill or the animals ill. And so they take them, they do all the stuff, all the health stuff. And then the dog is, while they take care of them, still with the senior some, still, they're still with their animal, but they take care of them, make sure the animal gets to be with them. And then if anything happens to the person, they make sure the dog, is put in a good place. So it's like they keep them, they keep them with the elderly person so they can still have their dog, even though they can't take care of them. And then if something happens, they make sure the dog goes and isn't a good home. So, you know, I thought that was a pretty cool
Starting point is 00:16:14 idea. I don't think I would think of that when it comes to animals. No, I would, I love that because for elderly, that's their companion. That might be keeping them here longer, having that relationship. too. When we were in Tulsa a couple weeks ago, they had a commercial come on and it was a funeral home for just animals. And they were like, here at this we'll call it, Per and Die, come
Starting point is 00:16:37 and put your dog in, a cat in, and you have your animal funeral here. Now per and I would be a terrible name for it. Very. Yeah, it'd be awful actually. But I had not seen that before. And I thought that's a pretty good idea because people love their animals. I hear chiching. Yeah, I hear that too. So anyway,
Starting point is 00:16:53 I'm starting one. I got one in like three weeks But I was like, dang, that's an idea I wouldn't have thought of that I think a lot of people are probably happy that one of those things exists. So anyway, the organization's pretty great. Wanted to share it with you guys. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. Eddie, let me hear your buzzer. Abby, Peepoo, Peepoo, Peepoo.
Starting point is 00:17:14 Abby has made her buzzer. It's her own voice singing. Go ahead. Okay, so that's her buzzer. That's her buzzer. Sounds pretty good. That's pretty good. is millennial and so let's see who wins the game the loser today will eat a spoonful of ketchup
Starting point is 00:17:30 and ice cream. I love this. That sounds terrible. So I'll ask three questions that are millennial based and three that are elder based and the goal is to get the most points. You guys ready? Oh yeah. Ready. Push the button to ring in Abby, okay? Practice one time. Go. Okay. Awesome. Singing the whole time. The first question is an elder question. One that Eddie should know. around was a theme song to what TV show as part of ABC's TGIF lineup? Eddie? I mean, I don't know, but I'm going to guess step by step. The second time around.
Starting point is 00:18:16 Whoa. Yeah, that's it. It's it. They're on a roller coaster? Okay. Wow. Okay. Correct.
Starting point is 00:18:22 That's one up, baby. Let's go. Millennial question. California by Phantom Planet. Eddie. California. That was for OC. The OC is correct.
Starting point is 00:18:35 The TV show. Yeah. I had to jump in front of that. Was the theme song to which Fox drama that aired 2003 to 2007. Abby, I hope you like ketchup and ice cream. I don't. Okay, next up. I'm going to play a hook of a song here.
Starting point is 00:18:50 Here you go. Mike D. M.C. And Ad Rock were members. Eddie. I just needed it. Here where the question was going. Give me Beastie boys.
Starting point is 00:19:11 Correct. Three points. Wow. Abby, you're on there. Are you kidding? Hey, get the ice cream out of the freezer. I smell ice cream and ketchup. I smell ice cream and ketchup.
Starting point is 00:19:18 I hate, that is disgusting. Yeah, that's the point. What if it was like good though? You'd be like, why did I lose? That's true. But that's really gross. Step it up, Abby, let's go. Abby, you got to get the next three right.
Starting point is 00:19:27 It's a millennial question. Jen, J-I-N. Jay Hope and Sugar are just a few members of which international boy band. Abby, ring in. Abby, you got, you had to answer, or you're going to lose.
Starting point is 00:19:48 So you had to ring in. What is your answer? BTS. Correct. Oh, okay. BTS is correct. Yeah, I was going to say BTK, so it was good thing I was.
Starting point is 00:19:57 Oh, gosh. Yeah, very different. Good thing. All I had. Okay. Back to the elder question. Eddie, if you get this, you win. I know.
Starting point is 00:20:04 Or if Abby just doesn't get it. Joshua Jackson, Katie Holmes. Eddie? Dawson's Creek. and what other lead actor all starred in Dawson's Creek. Abby.
Starting point is 00:20:24 Joshua Jackson, Katie Holmes, and what other lead actor also starred in the show Dawson's Creek? I literally have no idea. I jump the gun. I can't even guess. I have to guess. You might as well say some words.
Starting point is 00:20:39 Who's an actor that would have been in Dawson's Creek? I can't even think of one. Okay, that's incredible. I have no idea. All right. That's James Vander. Oh, good. I didn't know his first name. I mean, Abby, just say Tom Hanks.
Starting point is 00:20:51 Yeah. She would have gotten it wrong, though. Finally, millennial question. What actor played Regina George and Mean Girls? Eddie? Anna Kendrick. Incorrect? Abby?
Starting point is 00:21:02 I don't know her name. What's her name? Well, you can't win anyway. It's Rachel McAdams. Hey, let's get that catch up, Eddie. Dang it. Why are we so bad at these? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:21:14 It just, yeah. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I'm going to try to be like, like, Nice. Oh, it's right now. Here's a spoon with some ketchup.
Starting point is 00:21:22 I don't know it's going to be right now. This is amazing. And it's mint-flavored chocolate of ice cream. Wait, you got to put them on the one thing. One spoon. Yeah, yeah, it's one spoon. Yeah, that was a lot of ketchup. Abby now lost, and she's going to do ketchup and ice cream.
Starting point is 00:21:37 I smell the ketchup. Oh, yum. Abby, clean that spoon off. That's a big one. I can't even eat all that. Yeah. You can't. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:21:45 You got it out. Oh. Just do it all. Just eating the ice cream by itself is not good. Eating ice cream is okay. Oh my goodness, she did it all. Oh my god. You better, don't puke them.
Starting point is 00:21:54 Rain freeze. Oh, no. Oh, really grow. Yeah. Mm-mm-mm. Oh, what's it tastes like? She's gonna throw up. She's gonna throw up.
Starting point is 00:22:03 There's a trash can right there. Oh, eat it. She's gonna throw up. Ew. Come on, Abby, you can do it. Oh my God. Focus. You gotta take it down.
Starting point is 00:22:12 My brain freeze, no. Rain freeze and ice cream. Yeah. And ketchup. How do you understand what she's saying? It's like a dentist and I'm like Oh wow You got a new muffler? That's pretty cool
Starting point is 00:22:22 Oh my gosh, I had a brain freeze And that was the worst taste ever It was like so... You still got it in there like we can tell Yeah, well come on We need you to speak freely Okay You good?
Starting point is 00:22:31 Yeah, there's like mint I mean chocolate chips now We need to hear you do a run And we're not gonna know it's you Go ahead That's how you sound so summer No I need you That's right
Starting point is 00:22:41 You still There she's here She's back Oh Not bad That's bad Yes. Okay, and Abby loses. Eddie moves on to the next round.

Starting point is 00:26:27 I had mentioned that someone on the show got a phone call and there was a bad scare. What they heard on the other end of the phone, scared the crap out of them. They are going to come here on the show and talk about that today. The person is, Eddie. You're talking about it right now?
Starting point is 00:26:43 Yeah, so is it an unknown number? Is that what you answered? Was it a block number? No, no, no. It was a phone number. I just didn't recognize it. Okay, so you see the number. Why do you even answer it?
Starting point is 00:26:51 Because I'm driving, and I don't know. I was listening to music and it interrupted the music. It came on. I'm like, well, let me just get it. Do you always answer unknown numbers? Rarely. Okay. So for some reason, you were told, Eddie, answer this number.
Starting point is 00:27:04 Answer that call. Okay, you click the button, and then what happens? I say, hello. And there's a voice on the other line. and it says, Dad. And I go, what? I don't recognize this voice.
Starting point is 00:27:19 And I say, what? Dad. And it's a deep voice. Okay. And I start thinking, oh my goodness. I'm just telling you what is happening here. Let's play the game. And we know the answer to this one.
Starting point is 00:27:32 Unlike yesterday where Amy saw a weirdo in a parking lot with binoculars. We know the answer to this one. So there's a deep voice on the other end of an unknown call to Eddie. It goes, Dad. Dad. And it's not just a wrong number. So that's not going to be the thing.
Starting point is 00:27:47 Oh. It's not going to be. There's actually something to it. Something. Oh, there's something to it. Right. Dad. And what do you say again?
Starting point is 00:27:55 And I said, what? I can't hear you. What? Dad. And then that's when I freaked out. Okay. So, what do you think happened here? Lunchbox has his finger on his lip.
Starting point is 00:28:10 He's really thinking it through here. Dad. And it's a number Eddie doesn't know. Got it. You do have it for sure? I got it. Oh, yeah, for sure too. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:28:21 Eddie, uh, Ray, do you want to play? Yeah. Ray, you go first. I'm guessing it's fantasy football time. Maybe you guys did a Zoom or whatever, and that somebody saw his number that he doesn't have their number in his phone. It's a buddy playing a prank on Eddie. Okay, you think it's a buddy playing a prank?
Starting point is 00:28:36 Maybe we lock you in for that. Mean prank. The winner gets five bucks. Oh. Let me say much money I have a lot of money. Do you have it? Much bucks?
Starting point is 00:28:46 Well, Ray was on the same lens as I. Eddie has a buddy named Isaiah. That is a pretty funny dude. And I could see him doing this. He does pull pranks. He does. Five bucks of the winner. Yeah, he pulls pranks a lot.
Starting point is 00:28:58 So I thought maybe he called him from his work phone. And messed with Eddie. So that was my guess. But if Ray has that, then that's the obvious guess. But that's, I'm going with the prank. But you can go with that too and just split the money if you win. Yeah, I'm going to prank. Amy?
Starting point is 00:29:12 Okay. So I think someone was trying to. to get a hold of their dad from jail, and they were at the pay phone and had to remember their number by heart, and they got one number off, and it's Eddie's number. So they thought they were calling their dad, but Eddie answered. Oh. Interesting. That's a good one. None of you are right.
Starting point is 00:29:26 Oh. So Eddie, before we reveal what it was, where did your mind go immediately when you heard a deep voice going, dad? I have a son somewhere. No way. I didn't know of. Do you? What in the world? My heart sank.
Starting point is 00:29:41 Because I'm like, I don't recognize this voice. and they're calling me dad. This is it. I have a child. Do you guys want round two? You're taking another guess at it? Because nobody got it. And you can even have...
Starting point is 00:29:51 You guys don't think that's it. Everybody's laughing. Well, because I'm trying to think of who in the world. Eddie hooked up with him. 18? I don't know. No, I thought he don't have been with his wife? No.
Starting point is 00:30:00 I thought it was a ruined 20s. I thought you were with your wife in high school. No. Oh. Not every night. Later in high school. Not every night. Okay.
Starting point is 00:30:08 What in the world could it have been? Uh, I don't. Okay. One more I guess. for $5.5. Ray, you have another guess, or are you going to bow out? I mean, his kids don't have a deep voice. All his kids are younger, and I have actually a nephew that's the exact same age,
Starting point is 00:30:26 and his voice isn't deep yet. So, I don't know. I got it. What? Andy, go ahead. Okay, his kids learned that whatever that code is where you can make a phone call, unknown, Star 6 something. And they just learned.
Starting point is 00:30:43 how to prank. And so they were pranking him with a deep voice. They downloaded an app that is a voice changer. Yeah. There's no prank. I said that in the last one. There's no pranks. That was after the first one. Yeah, no prank. He said no prank, guys. Okay, okay, okay. Eddie, do you want to tell him what happened?
Starting point is 00:30:59 Sure. And I keep him money. All right. Awesome. So, my son's 14. He's obviously gone through puberty. His voice has gotten deeper, but I haven't talked to him in the phone over the phone in a while. So I didn't recognize his He called from his friend's phone.
Starting point is 00:31:15 I knew it. And guys, it was my son. But dang, did I freak out. He hasn't talked to his son in three years. Let's be honest. I'm kidding. You didn't know. You didn't know.
Starting point is 00:31:24 He didn't know. I talked to him in person, but on the phone, he's like, Dad, I need to be picked up in the front of the school. For a second, you thought you had a son. Illegimate sign. Man, my heart dropped for a second. I'm like, this is it. Because we've talked about stories, you know, like where this happens?
Starting point is 00:31:36 Mailbags? It wasn't a prank. It wasn't an extra kid. You got enough of those. We got four of them. We got four of them. But it was your son growing up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:43 What, lunch, Barks? I had that thought go through my head, but then I was like, well, Eddie would know his son's voice. Yeah. So I was like, that can't even be it. Like, oh, my gosh. Dad, pick me up in the front of the school, please. A voicemail from Sophia in Miami. I love the show.
Starting point is 00:32:01 And I was going through Amazon Prime. And suddenly, I discovered that you can buy already Top Gun Mammaric. So that's just something. something I wanted to say to Bobby so he can now watch it at home. That's great, right? Okay, guys, I love you all. Thank you very much, yeah. Looking out for you.
Starting point is 00:32:21 I was told that recently. Hey, Mike and I were at my house last night, and we were trying to find music on Amazon Prime because it's like, all you have to do is have Amazon on the TV, and they're like, just finding me, and I'm searching, we're going through every category. And I go through, I just type in music, and then I find music documentaries. I'm going to, why can't I find just music to play? We spend 15 minutes on it. I'm Googling stuff.
Starting point is 00:32:41 and Mike doesn't say much and he goes I think that's Amazon music so oh don't hit the app Not prime Yeah I know he waited like 15 minutes Mike's a man a little words And he goes
Starting point is 00:32:52 I think that's Amazon music I said okay thank you Mike And there we went Here's Amy's pile of stories Here's a fun stat for back to school season Your kid's backpack is covered in 31 times more germs than your disgusting cell phone
Starting point is 00:33:10 So don't let them toss it on the kitchen table or the counters when they get home from school, which is exactly what my kids do, and now I'm grossed out. Good comparison of the cell phone because I always get very annoyed when they go, there's way more germs in the toilet seat. And I'm like, well, the toilet seat's not germy. What's in the actual toilet bowl could be, but our butt cheeks don't get a lot of germs on them. Our phones, though, disgusting. And if there's that many more germs than a phone, I'm going to stop letting random kids in my house with backpacks.
Starting point is 00:33:40 I'm saying it right now. You should. I have an arrow outside that flashes on like one of those signs of a gas. I'm like, if you have a backpack, come on in. Like a motel? But I'm not doing that anymore as of today. All right, good stat, Amy. What else?
Starting point is 00:33:49 So imagine you're checking into a hotel and, you know, sometimes there's gifts waiting for you, but you're just a normal person. Why would there be a gift waiting for me? Well, it's because this person accidentally got a Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck wedding gift in her hotel room. They sent it out to all the guests that were attending their ceremony. They had their Vegas thing, but then they did a more form. normal ceremony with family and friends.
Starting point is 00:34:12 And everybody got these chocolates with J and B on them, Jennifer and Ben. And this one woman named Savannah doesn't even know them, but she got the special chocolates. How cool would that be? You're not thinking to be that cool. Probably afterward. Yeah, because you have... Because I ate them, but I didn't take a picture of it. No, I wouldn't eat them.
Starting point is 00:34:32 And then I was like, but you didn't know. I would... Huh? I wouldn't know what that meant, J&B. She found out because she called the hotel. I mean, everyone's staying there. So it's like a thing. She's like, I'm not part of the, I'm not a wedding guest.
Starting point is 00:34:44 Yeah, I know. I wouldn't have called. I just eaten the chocolate and then figured it out later. Because I don't want him to come take the chocolate back. Right. That's like lunchbox is a story where you put money in a bank account. If you spend it, can't get it back. You literally can't get the chocolate back if I eat it.
Starting point is 00:34:55 You're going to get charged for stealing the chocolate. She even got a handwritten note saying, you know, thank you so much for making our wedding weekend celebration so special. Sweet dreams, J&B. You know, those two are, they're kind of losers, huh? What? I don't care about them They're kind of
Starting point is 00:35:11 They're lame Did you watch J-Lo's documentary? No, I just feel like they're pretty lame I do I feel like he's lame I feel like she's lame I feel like that's a lame Like what do you mean lame I would say dushy but I'm not saying that right now
Starting point is 00:35:22 But you just did Yeah I did I had to It's kind of a dushy couple I'd agree with that Yeah I don't not like them Yeah But it's like they're just Take it from somebody
Starting point is 00:35:33 Whose career I have to get attention To keep my career going and even I'm annoyed by them. Wow. Yeah. I don't not like them. But I'm like, okay, guys.
Starting point is 00:35:44 Yeah, I'm on the Who Cares train. Yeah, who cares? Who cares? Really forcing it here. Oh, I love J-Lo. You do? Yeah, I could take her leave Ben Affleck. I liked her when she was with A-Rod, take her leave him.
Starting point is 00:35:55 I like her. Cool. Okay. Well, I know you all. Mark Anthony. Oh, I like Mark Anthony. Cumber Smart. Oh, I forgot about him.
Starting point is 00:36:06 Okay, so the legendary John. Johnny Cash is the subject of a new documentary that's coming out in September. And it's called The Redemption of American Icon. And it's based on never before heard conversations with Johnny when he returned to his faith. And it's cool because Tim McGraw is going to appear in it. Cheryl Crow, Jimmy Allen, Wynonna Judd, so many others. And it's coming out in theaters December 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Ben Affleck, lame.
Starting point is 00:36:31 Johnny Cash, not lame. Yeah, the opposite of lame. Not lame. Yeah. All right, Amy, is that it? Yeah, that's my file. That was Amy's pile of stories. Come on!
Starting point is 00:36:40 It's time for the good news. With producer Eddie. Tell me something good. Our line, Frankl, she is 85 years old. And back in 1954, she went to college. She was 18 years old, but then life happened. She had to drop out. She couldn't finish.
Starting point is 00:36:56 Well, five years ago, she's 80 years old. She goes back to school. It takes her five years. But she graduates with honors. And now she's graduated. She started a new career, motivational speaking. Dude, she is banking. And here's a clip of her
Starting point is 00:37:09 talking about how she wants to inspire others. Out of the people communicating with me, they're so inspired when I say it's never too late. Hey, she sounds much younger than 85 years old. And super smart. How do you know she's banking? Well, she's motivational speaker. She's probably booking like venues all over America.
Starting point is 00:37:27 Who doesn't want to hear that story? She's probably getting some. I mean, I don't really know her bankroll. I'm just saying, dude, y'all someone's banking. That's super cool that she went back to school and finished. and that she was able to complete that. It just reminds me, I want to know of a kid who got all the way,
Starting point is 00:37:43 all the way to the finish line, three hours short. And he said, you know what, I'm going to step away. I know this story. And he still hasn't graduated. And all America roots for him. They want that story to be a story that could represent them.
Starting point is 00:37:54 They want to use this person as a person that they could see the one back and finish their dream and maybe they will too. And that person goes by the name of lunchbox. I also look at it as a story They can inspire America that says, hey, you don't have to have a college degree to be successful. And if you had not went to college, I'd be like, boom, you nailed it.
Starting point is 00:38:15 It's just three hours. You got one class. I know. Do they make a movie about that? I don't know about that. Are you waiting to 85 so we can tell me something good? Probably. If I'm a 41-year-old male goes back to college, like, who cares?
Starting point is 00:38:27 Like, you're still healthy in the middle of your life, like, no big deal. But I'd root for it. You know what? I'll tell you what. if you go back and finish school, I will go to every news station and get you on TV. If you finish school, I will make sure that your dream is to be on television. You got to do that. I'll think about that.
Starting point is 00:38:46 Okay. I'll think about it. That's what puts them back to be on the local 5 o'clock news. You say every news station, you mean. I will make sure. I will tell them about it. I can't promise you're going to be on all of them. I don't know if that's good enough.
Starting point is 00:38:56 I need a guarantee. Okay. You need it. Anyway. I need a 2020 special. Our line. Our line. That's a great story.
Starting point is 00:39:04 Good for. you. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. It is time for the investigative morning corny. So we have 90 seconds to figure out the corny. The record is three. We've gotten three in 90 seconds before. Our goal is 20.
Starting point is 00:39:21 We can do that. We're never satisfied. All right, here we go. Hit it, Ray. The morning corny. How much does a roof cost? How much does a roof cost and go? Singles. Singles.
Starting point is 00:39:35 One shingle. One shingle. A single shingle. That rhymes. A roof. A cost of a roof. A lot of shingles. There's got to be something with shingles.
Starting point is 00:39:49 Is there a monetary value that sounds like shingles? Singles. Singles, like a dollar. What about in the old days? When it is shillings, that's four shillings. That's not right? What in the world are you talking about? I don't think we're talking about how newsies roof a house.
Starting point is 00:40:09 Dude, I don't know. How much is this a roof constant? I got a feeling we won't be getting four or 20. Oh, overhead. Overhead? Depends on the overhead. Depends on the overhead on the house. Oh, it's on the house.
Starting point is 00:40:22 It's on the house. Go next. It's on the house. I want to go with it's on the house. Next. Ding ding, ding. Yeah, let's go. What happened to the guy whose coffee got stolen? Stolen coffee.
Starting point is 00:40:32 Folgers in your cup. Black coffee. Black coffee. Black, oh, blacklisted. No, he got it, he got it. What happened to the guy that stole coffee? Oh, he was on the run. He was, uh, had a lot of energy.
Starting point is 00:40:45 He got a caffeine boost. Yeah. I don't know anything about it. Guys, we're struggling. Brew? Brew? Brewed up some trouble. He, he. Read it again, Amy.
Starting point is 00:40:58 What happened to the guy He got burned? He got stolen. Oh, his coffee got stolen. What were you saying? The guy that stole the coffee. Yeah, we were being confused the whole time. We got one.
Starting point is 00:41:08 Yeah. It's not good. We read that question again? What happened to the guy whose coffee got stolen? What happened to the guy whose coffee got stolen? He was mugged. Coffee mug. Okay.
Starting point is 00:41:19 Well, we got one though. That's the goal. That's the goal. I don't know if I want to sell. Clear eyes. Full house. What is it? Who cares?
Starting point is 00:41:27 Yeah, whatever. If we need to get three now to really feel like we've done our job. But the whole thing started with just any one. It's evolved. But we're growing as people. That's right. Yeah, Tom Brady just wanted to start. He finally started, then he started winning Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:41:39 He didn't go back to just being happy with starting. He didn't get one Super Bowl and go like, I'm good. That's a good, lunch. All right, so clear eyes, Will Hearts. Can't lose. You don't get to say that. I say it every time. You just don't know it.
Starting point is 00:41:50 Eddie, you only say it. Do it, but do it at a medium tempo. Clear eyes. Yeah. Bull hearts. Can't lose. Sorry. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:42:03 In a second, we'll play, is it, Shady, but first, in a new poll, a third of people say they know someone who has been catfished. Catfishing is where you get online and you talk to a girl and she says she's a guest jeans model and you fall for it. Oh, that's me specifically. Sorry, I just get that.
Starting point is 00:42:19 Yeah, that's me specifically and it ends up being a dude. So, 33% of people know someone who's been catfish. Do you guys? Yes, you. Yeah, you. You're the only one. You're the only person. Really? I'm the only person you guys know this been catfish? Yeah. Unless I just had no people that and they don't admit it. That may be it. I think that's probably
Starting point is 00:42:35 more likely. You know me? I'll share it. I got no problem with telling you guys. I got no problem of being humiliated in front of millions
Starting point is 00:42:41 of people. Ray, you ever been catfish? You seem like a prime person to be catfish. It's funny. I just talked to my wife about this and I said there was a girl in college
Starting point is 00:42:49 that just messaged me on Facebook. I talked to her for probably two years. Never met her. Talked her on the phone all the time, saw pictures of her. Eventually, I believe she just deleted her Facebook,
Starting point is 00:42:58 but I mean, I never really knew who she was. You talked to her on the phone? For years. Because I talked to the guest change the model a little bit too. And I haven't put her on the show. Bree.
Starting point is 00:43:07 Yeah, Bree. But she didn't sound like, she doesn't sound like that. She's like Bruce. She sounded like this. Why I was giving more of a sensual? That was sensual. Oh, my goodness. Ray, so what do you think?
Starting point is 00:43:21 Did you ever send her a gift or anything? No, I believe I was catfished. It was definitely a, maybe a girl that didn't look like the pictures I thought. And for two years, she talked to me. And you talked to her? Yeah. Would you call her? Yeah, my buddies would talk to her, and she always made this Southern girl accent,
Starting point is 00:43:34 but her pictures always did seem like they were kind of a little blurry. They weren't perfect pictures. Do you think it was a dude or you think it was a girl? No, it was a girl. They didn't look like that probably. Dang it. I wish there was a story like mine. No, there isn't it. No chance of going to be a dude.
Starting point is 00:43:48 Definitely a girl just blurry pictures. Yeah. I could have been a dude. The only spot that was blurred was the Adams Apple. For some reason, the Adams Apple was always. So the quick story about mine is this guest Jean's model reached out on social media. She was like, a big fan.
Starting point is 00:44:03 We had messaged. a few times. This is 15 years ago. She flew to town. Every time we tried to FaceTime, because FaceTime was, maybe Skype, maybe FaceTime was the early stages. Her camera was broken. And I told the show, I was like, guys, I can't believe it either. There's a guest jeans model that likes me, big fan. And they're like, no, Amy Lutzwe. No, you're an idiot. And I'll show you guys. She came on the show. It sounded drunk. But I was like, I told you. And they're like, you told us what?
Starting point is 00:44:29 And then it turns out it was a dude, a skinny dude who got arrested in a hotel. And he was on the news. And he was like taking all kinds of, old men were sending them stuff, like tons of gifts, money. And I always say I'd never send a single gift. Did you? Hmm? Did you? Did you?
Starting point is 00:44:44 Did you send a gift? I said I never sent gifts. Okay. Gifts. He said plural. What about all gifts? No, I didn't send gifts. Good catch.
Starting point is 00:44:52 I didn't send gifts or money. I didn't think gifts or money. God. But it was embarrassing. And it had gone away and a listener like months later went, hey, I think this was the person. Yeah, January 21st, 2010 is when that was. was. Wow. Man accused him a person in a model swindling wealthy men online. Posing his model Brie Condon, fraudster allegedly dupes wealthy men on the internet. I wasn't even wealthy. So
Starting point is 00:45:13 that's how you know it wasn't me. And yours, yeah, yours happened way before the new story and before even catfishing was a thing. Yes, I was ahead of the trend. Yeah. Were you before the football player? Yeah. Same time, around the same time because that was 2010. Yeah. I think he was 13, maybe. Well, whatever the case is, I asked country before country wasn't cool. You know what You know what I'm saying? Don't be proud of that one. I'm doing it for everybody's doing it. So, yeah, I was vulnerable. I got God. So that happened
Starting point is 00:45:40 and I'm the only person. Ray is admitted. Morgan, you've been catfished? It sounds like you have. Your eyes, like, come on. I didn't remember this until I was talking to Scuba and he uncovered it, but back when AIM was a thing, I had a guy online that I was talking to for at least
Starting point is 00:45:56 a year who I fully believed was Brandon Yuri from Panic of the disco, the lead singer. He had me convinced he'd send me pictures of him. I sent him pictures of myself, not not crazy ones. Are you winking at me? No, not winking.
Starting point is 00:46:10 And I fully believed it was him. We would get on Skype. It sounded like him, but he'd never show me his face. Oh, man. And I fully believed it, and we were supposed to meet up. He was supposed to have a concert in town. And I was young. I mean, I was in middle school when this happened, and I was so excited.
Starting point is 00:46:27 You got catfished. This is terrible. And then he, like, last minute, was like, oh, no, I won't be able to meet up or whatever. and then at that point I started to realize this is probably not actually him. Welcome to the club. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:37 We welcome all. Heck, we're happy new members come. I'm being honest. The catfish club? Yeah, catfish. You guys have fun. We got a house with just catfish on it. We don't say what it is.
Starting point is 00:46:46 But if you say it's wearing a catfish, you know what's up. But that, Brandon Yuri, he does, Ah, shen-da-ha. Haven't you people ever heard? How's it go? Haven't you people ever heard of. I just did that part. How's the chorus go?
Starting point is 00:47:00 I know what that is. How's the chorus go? I thought that was the chorus. Is that it? What else do they have? Because I pretty much nailed it. Then you guys just did whatever I'm doing after that. I guess we all know the same part.
Starting point is 00:47:09 Yeah, even worse. What's the one he did for the magician one? How about, you got to have a high, high house for a minute. And the money. A house for the minute. Well, he has another song called Middle Schooler in Wichita. Do you? Yeah, it's about me.
Starting point is 00:47:23 I did it. I got catfish on the internet. That's not a real thing. That's not a whole thing. Okay. Well, there's that. Anybody else want to admit some? Mike?
Starting point is 00:47:31 You look like you been catfish. Are you sure? No, he does it. He would probably first image. He reversed Google images. Or he was catfishing people. Oh, Mike. He pleases a fifth. Okay, so there's that. I do want to play. Is it Shady?
Starting point is 00:47:46 And this episode of Visit Shady will involve Ray Mundo. Ray Mundo's been getting deals around town. Ray, what are you going to a store or a restaurant and say? Yeah, it'll be fast food or just a place at the mall. And I always just throw it out there. And when I'm checking out, I have a product. And I say, employee discount. He just says it. He just says employee discount.
Starting point is 00:48:04 And does it ever work? Yes. But you're just saying that, they go, oh, okay. And sometimes they'll say, oh, what store and I'll just say, oh, the one across town, not this one. And sometimes do they even not ask what store and they just give it to you? Absolutely. So is it shady to just go employee discount? Yes.
Starting point is 00:48:19 Yes, this is a no-brainer. Absolutely shady. Of course it's shady. That's right. How is it shady? You say it if they give it to you, they give it to you. It's just, instead of saying, is that the best deal you can give me? Is that shady?
Starting point is 00:48:31 No, you're asking, hey, if you want to give me an appointment? No, you're lying, though. That's just asking a question. Is this the best you can give me? Ray does not work for these places. They know he doesn't work for him because they work there. They would know him. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:48:41 Like it. Hey, Ray, so I'm doing the register, right? All right, sir, you got four articles here. That would be 3212. Will that be cash or credit? Oh, yeah, an employee discount. Oh, okay, let's take off. Wow, I just fell for it too.
Starting point is 00:48:56 It's that easy. It's that easy. Yeah, it's shady, because you don't work there. but, BOO. Funny that it worked, but that's shady. Yeah, try it out, kids.
Starting point is 00:49:04 I mean, no, no, don't try it out, kids. Way to make it more official is because you can, I think, look up, like, store numbers to places and if they say,
Starting point is 00:49:12 oh, yeah, where do you work? You're just like, oh, yeah, number 224. 69. They're like, we do have one.
Starting point is 00:49:18 I don't even know why I'm helping to make it more legit, but I feel like that could work. All right, hit it. Breaking news! Breaking news! Oh, what's the breaking news?
Starting point is 00:49:27 Puberty there. So, not next week, but the week after that, which I believe is the 6th, 7th and 8th, because that Monday is a holiday, the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th, I'll be hosting, co-hosting the Today Show. Yeah, thank you. Thank you very much. Now, it's the hour right after the show ends, so I'm bebopping, going one right to.
Starting point is 00:49:51 I'll probably leave like 15 minutes early from this. Get over there. We'll record the last goodbye segment, don't worry. Get over there, and I'm hosting that, I think it's the fourth hour with Hoda. and so I'm going to do that for three days. It's just you two? You and Hoda? That's it. That's awesome. Pretty excited about that.
Starting point is 00:50:04 And they sent me a list of guests. Oh. Ooh, who do we got? Did you hear lunchbox who I said? No. In the studio earlier, I mentioned a couple of them. Derek Jeter. Stop it!
Starting point is 00:50:13 The captain. Is that? He's going to be on the fourth hour? It says, yeah, it says for my info now. So I don't know if I'm going to say that. But I'll stop there. They haven't even teased it. But that's gift basket guy?
Starting point is 00:50:25 Yeah. You're ahead of the network on this one? Yeah. Well, anyway. So, give us other initial. I can't do any more because I Scoopututton just looked to me like, hey, you probably shouldn't say all that. But we'll leave that. Possibly, Derek Jeter. It's what it says here.
Starting point is 00:50:37 But they also said, hey, you can bring up a couple artists to play. And so, like, whoever, you can have them play on the show. Wait, like us? No. Oh, like blind karaoke. Oh, that'd be awesome. That's what I do. Could you imagine?
Starting point is 00:50:48 So I am having come up with me, Tierra, who is an amazing artist who's going to play on the show next week as well, who opened for me here. She's awesome. And then Nicole Galleon, who is a great. great artist, songwriter. Awesome. So I'm taking them up and they're going to perform on the show. But that's it. That's the deal.
Starting point is 00:51:03 Love that. Wow. You can listen to this show and then you can go over and watch that if you want. But I'm going to host a today's show with Hoda for three days. Dang. Thank you. Hoda's a big deal. She has a big deal.
Starting point is 00:51:14 That's really cool. I'm going to change my name to Kathy Lee. Oh, Kathy Lee and Hoda. Well, but that one would just be like the same thing, though. And Kathy Lee's in here tomorrow. Okay. Breaking news, too. The Bobby Bone Show is proud to be supported by

Starting point is 00:54:55 It's military. Thank you, everybody, for being here and this is a segment where I try to give you the best interpretation
Starting point is 00:55:04 of the news. Let's go. Bobby's Big. Stories. A study warns low-carb diets are one of the worst for your immune system.
Starting point is 00:55:15 People who consume low amounts of carbs are more likely to suffer from health ailments and sickness. The reduced intake of fiber and fruits is horrible for you, It could be one of the main reasons your body organs become weaker.
Starting point is 00:55:26 Low-carved diets might also be useful in the short term for weight loss, but not long-term, and not good from studyfines.org. This is my experience with trying to do different things to look certain ways for certain jobs or for different reasons. If I ever tried something like a low-carb diet, and I would, short-term, feel like, ah, I feel so. But then I never have the energy or I never have the fuel to actually get stronger or get better or think clearly. And that short-term fix actually hurt me long-term. Not just made it even. Like, it always hurt me long-term. But you look good though, man.
Starting point is 00:56:05 Yeah, thanks. When you did that. Thanks, buddy. Thank you. What do you want to do that? Wait, what is that? I'm just kidding. And he set me up.
Starting point is 00:56:11 But I'm telling you, I get it. I get it. I have things where I'm like, I have to look good for this because X, Y, Z. We all do. But it is just never, I'm saying it as the old man now. 42. It just never turned out good. It turned out worse for me when I would do stuff like, all right, no carbs.
Starting point is 00:56:28 Now, I do try to watch what I eat. My wife has instilled into me, and I don't do it wonderfully all the time, but she's like, hey, you know, we count, we count ingredients, not calories. Meaning the fewer ingredients, the less all this bullcrap's in it, all this. Who knows? I don't even know what it is. Stuff you can't pronounce. That's exactly. That's why I don't say it.
Starting point is 00:56:43 Yep. So my wife's a very smart. person and she's like, I don't care many calories. I'd be like, well, I got to wear this for this. Count ingredients. It may more calories, but who cares? I'm not my calories are bad. Yes, ma'am.
Starting point is 00:56:56 And then I become a better person. That's story number one. Most Americans have a teacher that changed their life for the better. 53% of Americans say they had a teacher who changed their life. I do, for sure, in that she told me I would never be a broadcaster, or I would never be able to use my voice to make money because my accent was too thick and I spoke too fast. Wow.
Starting point is 00:57:20 She wasn't wrong about the accent or the speaking fast, but she told me I wouldn't, I remember we did a play, we put it to tape. It was like an old classic radio show and I played the role of Heathcliff the cat. And she said, you're funny, but I know you want to be on the radio and on TV, but with your voice and how fast you talk, you'll never make it. What? I know. It's crazy that anybody would tell any kid they wouldn't make it.
Starting point is 00:57:44 And not say, hey, here's how you can get better. Right. That teacher changed my life. Because you. Stuck in her butt. And I was like, no, you're wrong. You're wrong. And I kept, and I still remember it.
Starting point is 00:57:57 And like, I try to shake that stuff. I never, I tried not to prove people wrong anymore. I try to prove the people right that bet on me or believed in me. And so, but that's, that's the one. I'm just like, why would you even say that? Yeah. So, you know, Steve Harvey sends a teacher like a TV every Christmas. It's the first time I've ever said this.
Starting point is 00:58:13 Steve Harvey since the teacher. teacher at TV every single Christmas because she told him he couldn't be on TV. I sent her a cat, a live cat. Because the Pee Cliff, yeah. I just let it loose in her house. She's a lot of cats. Yeah, she's like, I don't. But that story is true. That's from UGov America. Amy, do you have a teacher you think about it? You're like, man, that's awesome. And yes, they changed my life. Yeah, my senior year. Sort of similar to yours. I had to give a public speech. I had never done that before our whole entire school and even alumni that came back. And after it finished, we all gathered in a room, everyone that was in charge of the event. And she was shocked that I did
Starting point is 00:58:51 well. Almost like embarrassingly shocked. And it sort of scarred me. But in a way has motivated me because she didn't believe in me, but then was praising what I did. So it was like this weird thing of like a backhanded compliment of sorts. Yeah, that's two trauma issues. Anybody have like a great one where it's Eddie do you have a teacher that changed your life in a positive way? I mean, I have Miss English and she's my third grade teacher. She just made me interested in school because everyone else, I didn't want to be in school. It was boring to me, but Miss English made it fun. She did this song called Eddie, Eddie, Bo Betty, Fennanana Fafetti.
Starting point is 00:59:23 What do you did that song? And then she would do with every kid and I was like, Miss English is awesome. You think she made that up? She did not. You never heard that song? Yeah, but how do you do that with every name? Mikey Mikey Mikey Mikey Mikey.
Starting point is 00:59:34 Bo Fikee, Banana Fana Fifeki. Me, my, Mo Mikey. Yeah, that's what she would do. Amazing. That's awesome. What? I don't know. Yeah, I like it.
Starting point is 00:59:44 Good job, Eddie. Yeah, thanks, man. The scene was she was awesome. Not even the Bat Girl directors can access the footage to that movie they just threw in the garbage. They spent 90 million bucks on Bat Girl. But now they're makers or nobody can get it because they don't want anything leaking. They don't want anything out. Wow.
Starting point is 00:59:59 So, and people are like, well, the movie must have sucked. And yes, they probably put it away because it wasn't good, but they also probably thought they just weren't going to make their money back. on it and it was a tax write off. They got to go. Yeah. All right, we lost this money. Let's ride it off. But that's terrible for the actress.
Starting point is 01:00:14 It was her first gig. Yeah, here's thing about companies. They don't care. They don't care. They're faceless entities who are making decision based on bottom lines. Oh, God, I'm sad now. Yeah. Hopefully it'll work out for her somewhere.
Starting point is 01:00:26 All right, that's from variety. Hube-stank and Litt will launch a co-headlining tour this fall. The 2000s are coming in strong here. Here is Litt, My Own Worst Enemy. And here is Hube-Bestank the Reason. Dude, let's go. I don't want to go to that one. But I like the songs.
Starting point is 01:00:51 I like them. But I'm not going to go to a concert. They had like one song each. Lit? Yeah. They had it over my head. You have that one, right? That's it.
Starting point is 01:01:05 And they have that other one. You make me. Oh, that's a good one too. Okay, I'm in. See, let's go. Play those three, and I'm in. California will be the first state to ban gasoline cars from Jalopnik.
Starting point is 01:01:18 California is going to ban the sale of new gasoline-powered cars by 2035. That's crazy. So that's, you know, 13 years. They're going to ban the sale of new gasoline cars. So they'll still have the old ones. They won't just like pop tires of driving down the road of gasoline cars, but that'll be when they won't sell new. If they could make it work, if that, listen, that's great, right? We need to find ways to use other sources of energy and not just dig in the ground.
Starting point is 01:01:42 And they'll always be a place for natural gas and we'll have to use it. But eventually, we're just not going to have it. Yeah. Maybe that's not us or the generation after us. But we've got to find other sustainable. And sure, if you can do electric, if you can do solar and you can still have some gas. I'm a gas guy. I like gas.
Starting point is 01:02:04 Heck, I have it right now. So if you have a bunch of old gas cars, like say we're in the future in California, you can't sell them or you'll get arrested? New. New. Okay. So all the old ones can still be resold and all that. I'm just going to shut it down. Like, you have one, you're going to jail.
Starting point is 01:02:18 Yeah. What are you in for? Got a forward focus. Gasoline. 2010. Yeah, that's a guess. So there's that, and that is your news. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:02:28 Those were Bobby's big. Stories. Your top three songs in country music at number three, Cole Swindell. She had me at Heads Carolina. Sometimes they'll put a song out, and they'll go back and, like, put in the verse on it
Starting point is 01:02:47 or change up an artist. Like, yeah, we re-released it. I think he should go back in and put Jody Mascina on it, and she should sing, like, the last chorus. Yeah, that'd be cool. Because that's what that is. I mean, it's definitely sample or maybe not even, but yeah, that's what it is, you know.
Starting point is 01:03:03 Heads Carolina tells California. I think it'd be cool for them to go in and put that out, you know, to make, like, a final push, which is what they're doing now. John Party, Last Night Lonely at number two. Maybe you, oh, last night, coming in here, drinking all by yourself. I do love some.
Starting point is 01:03:17 John Party. Now, rumor is I don't want to spoil it. I don't know if it's true, but I've heard that one of the songs on John Party's new album was inspired by me. Yeah? Mm-hmm. Inspired.
Starting point is 01:03:33 Yeah. I don't want to say much else about it. He's going to come in, not Monday coming up, but a week from Monday. Is the track listening out? I can check the track list. I don't know. Something maybe I can't see. I'm blind. What? It's a Tuesday, September 6th. So not Monday. Okay. It's a week from
Starting point is 01:03:47 two, yeah, whatever, a day after I just said. Thank you. I'm gonna look for those titles. I've been told. I've been told I inspired, I didn't know. As it was being recorded, I didn't know. So, and who I've been told by is a pretty good source. And the number one song is Chris Young and Mitchell Tenpenny at the end of a bar.
Starting point is 01:04:08 That Mitchell Tenpenny can sing the crap out of a song, man. Like, that guy. What's his song, his big one? Sober. No. I've been sober. No, that's not what it's called. Oh, drunk me.
Starting point is 01:04:20 Yeah. But he does say, though, I've been sober. That's the opposite. Sober and drunk me are exactly the opposite thing. That guy can sing a song. That's your number one song at the end of a bar. The number one alternative song, another song inspired by me from Imagine Dragons, Bones. Wow!
Starting point is 01:04:38 I didn't inspire that one at all, but that's funny. But you talk about a band that people make fun of because, you know, people say they're cheesy. They put out great, like, super, super. catchy songs one after the other. Like hate on them all you want for them going to do their shows and workout gear. Okay. Who cares? They do look like that. They put out awesome songs. And then number one pop song
Starting point is 01:05:03 is Nikki Yore featuring Daisy. It's called Sunroof. Those are your big songs. Thank you very much. I got a text from Morgan late last night. And she's like, you're going to die, basically. So tell our listeners what
Starting point is 01:05:25 There's a new update to Instagram and Facebook that shows your precise location. It's no longer just a general location. It will show exactly where you are. That's crazy. Could you see it on mine? Did you log? I don't know how it happens yet. They haven't revealed that.
Starting point is 01:05:41 But this new update, people started figuring out that their location had changed. So that's why I haven't even figured out how they can find you. I just know that they can. So if you go to settings on your iPhone. Yep. And you go to either the Instagram app or Facebook. You got to do it on both. And then you got to hit location and toggle off precise location.
Starting point is 01:06:01 Yeah. So it's very easy, right? You just go to settings. And then you think to yourself, why am I in settings? Oh, yeah, Instagram. Go to Instagram. And then, oh, now I forgot. I was listening to By Vonesh.
Starting point is 01:06:11 I forgot to what to do now. Why are you doing it? Because you heard about your location being revealed. So you go to location. And it's just a little button. It's just a precise setting. Turn it off. That's it.
Starting point is 01:06:20 We'll post it up on our Facebook, but we're afraid to do it because then people will find us. Yeah. You know, they'll find a precise. setting when we posted. Why is that even a thing? Why do they want to know exactly where we are? Like, and after an update, like not tell us about it. Those are questions I'd like to ask myself. I'd like to get old Zuck in here for having a conversation. Why would you do that? I don't know, rude. So whatever it is, I'm sure, we'll figure it out. But in the meantime,
Starting point is 01:06:44 turn it off. People are vulnerable because it shows exactly where they are. Thank you, Morgan, for that one. Yeah, I got you. The next one is, there's a three-year-old Mexican girl who woke up her own funeral. She's three years old. Camilla Martinez. She was cleared dead by doctors at a hospital in Mexico. They had her funeral the next day. During the funeral service, a glass window of the casket started fogging up. Oh my gosh. And she opened her eyes. That's a crazy story. That's from the Daily Mail. Isn't that crazy? You don't even know what's, yeah. Does that ever happen in America though? Yeah. I wonder if it's the medical, it's, whenever we do this, it's always like in some other weird country. Yeah. Maybe our medical system is a little better. Or maybe if it's close, there's like,
Starting point is 01:07:22 wait it out what? We don't want to... Taylor Swift's accused of stealing another woman's quote lover Hey Mike D, talk to me about this for a second because I know the song lover Yeah, it's based on the book
Starting point is 01:07:34 That she released with the album This lady is saying that She ripped her off She like stole the concept? Stole the cover, the colors And it's a collection of poems Basically that it was their same idea that she used Boy, everybody just sues Taylor
Starting point is 01:07:47 Didn't do anything wrong I mean, I think Taylor's such a I mean the biggest probably presence in music. And somewhere, somebody's created something similar because there are 10 million people. And then they go,
Starting point is 01:08:01 well, it's close enough, let's sue. That's my opinion. That's my theory. Because I don't really, did you look at it? Yeah,
Starting point is 01:08:06 it looks nothing. It just happens to be named lover and it came on 2010. And there's poems. That's it. It's saying you ripped off the concept of a book. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:08:14 that's crazy. You know, I did a painting called a Midsummer Night's Dream, and then people started to say, I stole that. Really? From Van Gogh.
Starting point is 01:08:23 But you didn't. I did. I was just so bad that you couldn't tell. I tried. So different. I tried my hardest, but it still was so different. And then finally, the gross reason that you should stop using electric hand dryers in an effort to save the environment, public restrooms, that began putting these hand dryers in there instead of paper towels.
Starting point is 01:08:40 And I hate it. But dryers actually harvest the bacteria in the bathroom. And it's warm. Oh. And there's all this peepie, pee pee pee, pooh, pooh, pee. Here, let me hit it. Poopo, pee pee, poop, pee. Poopo peepie.
Starting point is 01:08:53 And so these scientists will go on and go like, look, this is not good. You're washing your hands. It's already gross in this room. You have this machine that's producing hot bacteria-filled air. You're walking out grosser than you wear before you walked in. Oh, this makes me really regret the times I've put my face under it to like give my hair. Poop-poo-poo-pip-pip-poo-poo-poo-poo-poo-poo-poo-poo-poo-poo-poo-poo-all. Like, you can get under there and give some volume to your hair real quick.
Starting point is 01:09:18 Yeah, with pooh-poo-poo-be, all right. Thank you. Okay, here's what we're going to do. We're going to give another caller a chance to win this gift card here, right? The $250 gift card? Yeah. Okay, so we're going to play with Lunchbox again. Let's a music game.
Starting point is 01:09:34 We'll see if he can win this caller $250 to Home Depot. Any music game with lunchbox is always super entertaining. We'll do it next. Bobby Bones Show Bone Head Norrie of the day This story comes with us from St. Petersburg, Florida. A 31-year-old man was out for a walk when he decided he was going to smoke a little mess.
Starting point is 01:13:30 So he puts the pipe to his lips. Cops happen to be driving by right at the same time. They pull over and say, hey, come here, come here. And he's like, no, guys, law 3812, meth's now legal. Try to keep walking. Is that a roll of home? 3812.
Starting point is 01:13:43 I'm a cop and I'm like, wow, Matt, they just passed that? He used numbers? so now believe them. That's an interesting approach to just say numbers and be like, yeah, meth is now legal. Yeah, because those laws do have weird numbers. Even when they call in a 3812, I'm like, oh, that must be serious. You know what he's talking about. Now I believe it myself, but I'm assuming that's not true.
Starting point is 01:14:00 No, not true, and he was arrested. Okay. I'm Lunchbox. That's your bonehead story of the day. You might be less willing to help somebody if you're deprived of quality sleep. That's according to a new study. Through three different experiments, all big universities, they just tested folks. who didn't get enough sleep. I mean, that's trial I sign up for.
Starting point is 01:14:21 I don't have to do anything different. Yeah. Your life. Yeah, test me. Give me a little cash. So they did this and apparently people are way more selfish and only worried about themselves a little more because they don't feel good.
Starting point is 01:14:31 And so it's like, I don't feel good. So I got to make sure I feel good first before I worry about anybody else. But if I'm sleepy or tired, I tend to be a bit crankier. So if I'm cranky, I'm like, ugh. And I'm really not, you know, my heart's not as soft as it is. if I'm fully rested. I think of parents during this because you're tired all the time as parents and all you have to do is help your children all the time.
Starting point is 01:14:54 Oh, that's true. Well, I'm being selfish. I'm only thinking of me during this. See, that's because I'm sleep deprived. That's it. See, there's an example right there. I was only thinking of me. Very selfish.
Starting point is 01:15:03 So in the study, researchers noticed that quality mattered more than quantity. So you can get seven or eight hours. But if you're like waking up all the time or kids or dogs or waking you up a kid. Occasionally, that doesn't matter as much, like five or six power hours. But that's what's up. Sleep is such a big deal. And I do work on it. I do.
Starting point is 01:15:24 I focus on sleep and I'm doing better than I used to. I got a great bed. Sleep number's great. But I just have all these neurosis spiders crawling in my head constantly. That's what it feels like. There's always little spiders. Just always crawling around, neurosis. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:37 It's a crazy image. Think about this. Think about this. No, about this. What if this goes right? What if this goes wrong. What is the, ah. Next thing you know, time to get up to the show.
Starting point is 01:15:44 And then I'll bring that energy here. Yeah, yeah. And we feel that. Yeah, same energy. Same energy. Well, well, well, that's going to do it. Thank you guys. We'll see you tomorrow.
