Hey, I'm Dr. Maya Shunker, a cognitive scientist and hosts of the podcast, a slight change of plans, a show about who we are and who we become when life makes other plans. I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change. We have to be willing to live with a kind of uncertainty that none of us likes. You can have opinions. You can have like a strong stance.
Starting point is 00:00:30 And then there's your body having its own program. Listen to a slight change of plans on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. It's Financial Literacy Month, and the podcast Eating While Broke is bringing real conversations about money, growth, and building your future. This month, hear from top streamer Zoe Spencer and venture capitalist Lakeisha Landrum Pierre as they share their journeys from starting out to leveling up. there's an economic component to communities thriving. If there's not enough money and entrepreneurship happening in communities, they failed. Listen to Eating While Broke from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. On a recent episode of the podcast Money and Wealth with John Hobriant, I sit down with Tiffany the budgetista Aliche to talk about what it really takes to take control of your money.
Starting point is 00:01:25 What would that look like in our families if everyone was able to pass on wealth? to the people when they're no longer here. We break down budgeting, financial discipline, and how to build real wealth, starting with the mindset shifts. Too many of us were never, ever taught. If you've ever felt you didn't get the memo on money, this conversation is for you to hear more.
Starting point is 00:01:46 Listen to Money and Wealth with John Hope Bryant from the Black Effect Network on the I'd Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Here we go. Transmitting. Welcome to Thursday show. Morning studio. Morning.
Starting point is 00:02:12 All right. They get to no question of the day. What's exciting right now? What's coming up on your life that you look at in the next few weeks, a couple of months that you would say mildly or majorly exciting? Amy. The unknown of where I'm going to move. You're still moving. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:32 Yeah, moving. But I just don't know where. But that's also exciting. Yeah. No, no, no, I love it. We talked about, this was a segment on the show where she saw the bird and the bird told her to move, so she moved. No, the bird was my mom sending me a message to have peace about selling my house. Right, that's right.
Starting point is 00:02:50 Have you started doing any of the work? Oh, yeah. Like taking pictures and stuff? Yeah, like photographs taken. Good for you. House is all organized. We had to, you know, declutter a lot because especially if we start showing it, people just want to see it put together, but not. too much stuff everywhere, no photos and stuff.
Starting point is 00:03:09 So I've done all the things. All the boxes checked. And I just have to figure out, you know, if it were to sell, where I'm going to go? Where you'd move? Yeah. But again, that's exciting. I agree. It's like, good for you.
Starting point is 00:03:23 Where will I go? The bird said so, man. The bird told, I know. Right. Yes. I agree. That's awesome. How exciting.
Starting point is 00:03:28 It's going to be a really great move for me. I agree. I'm excited for you. I'm excited. I almost want to use that as mine. I'm excited for you. Downsize. It's going to be a.
Starting point is 00:03:36 exciting. Eddie? Yeah, so two of my kids play travel basketball, and we are getting close to the end of that. Dude, it has been a nightmare. Like, it's cool. They get the experience of playing travel basketball, but you're talking about, like, a total of, with both boys, a total of nine games, a weekend. Every weekend's a count of it. Every weekend.
Starting point is 00:03:58 You're traveling to different cities in the area. I'm just so glad it's almost over. So you're excited about something not happening? Yes. Lunchbox. What are you excited? about? Let's see. Vacation at some point this summer and we'll go somewhere. Don't know where, but time off is always exciting. No idea where?
Starting point is 00:04:15 Nope. I haven't planned that out yet. We've got to figure that out. That's a debate. You're battling it right now? Do you have your preference? Does she have her preference? I thought you made the decisions in the home. Yeah, I mean, you have the pants. We haven't battled it out, but she's brought up one place and I'm like, eh, I'm not too keen on that idea. But I have to come up with a place and I don't have a place. What's her place? Middle East? Because the Taliban is now getting Afghanistan.
Starting point is 00:04:41 And they're trying to make it hurt. Hers is happiest place on earth. And I ain't ready for that. With all the kids. Yeah, I'm not ready for that. They don't want to do Disney. No, no. Because ours are 5, 4, and 2.
Starting point is 00:04:50 Oh, too young. Too young. They won't remember it. You win. Five will. Yeah. Five will. That's it.
Starting point is 00:04:55 Four might. Leave two back. Don't remember it. No. That's true. That's too expensive. That's what I'm just saying. And walking on, they won't want to walk that far.
Starting point is 00:05:03 I mean, it's just too much walking for that age. Yeah, you don't need to wait a few years. And you don't have anywhere yet. No, it's always tough to win an argument, though, if you don't have a side. That's the problem. I don't have a side to bring. Like, oh, what about this? I don't have a counter-argue.
Starting point is 00:05:15 I go to the beach. We go there all the time. Vegas. You love Vegas. Yeah, kids don't go to Vegas. Question, since Lunchbox splits his finances with his wife and they don't share accounts, who pays for vacation? Well, I pay like 70%.
Starting point is 00:05:29 That's probably why she wants to go to Disney. He pays for him and two kids, and she pays for her in one. Interesting. Well, good luck. Let us know where you decide. I will. Mine, I have a couple, but I need my shoulder to get better. I do my exercises every day.
Starting point is 00:05:43 Put my arm on the wall because I have a couple really small, like fracturing tears in my rotator cuff. So I've been every day doing my exercises. And so we just got, it hasn't happened yet. Don't want to jinx it, but I don't believe in the jinx. So who cares? The St. Louis Cardinals invited us to come up and do too much access with the baseball team. Wow. Which we're going to practice with them.
Starting point is 00:06:03 It's crazy. It's awesome. So how long do you have to rehab? A couple weeks. I'm just going to throw my arm. I'm just going to re-tear it if I have to. I'm not missing this. Because it's the Cardinals.
Starting point is 00:06:13 It's a major league. Can you just like toss? And they're playing the Cubs. You have to go all out? Can you just toss? Like just toss. Look me in my eyes and you know who I am and ask me that same question. You think he's a tosser?
Starting point is 00:06:23 Do you think I'm a tosser? Exactly. Maybe. No, we go hard. Can you try to throw with your other arm? I'm very excited. Oh, my right hand. I'm very excited that we got the invite.
Starting point is 00:06:33 Jim Edmund's big shout of. of Jim Edmonds, who's going to do it with us as well. I know him from Real Housewives. He's an awesome center filter, part of the broadcast team. Yeah, I'm sure he was. I know him from Housewives. Housewives. Well, I'm excited.
Starting point is 00:06:45 I just got to get my arm right. Eddie, you're excited. It's amazing, yes. Lunchbox is excited. He's got to get a place to go. And Amy's excited. She's just got to like hope another bird doesn't come and tell her to the opposite. Oh, gosh.
Starting point is 00:06:56 That would be terrible. Oh, man. I did see a Cardinal the other day, and I thought, is just trying to tell me something. I'm confused. You got to stop with all the Cardinals. Then I realized, we're going to the St. Louis Cardinals, so maybe that's a sign.
Starting point is 00:07:09 You're going to be a lot of Cardinals. I didn't think about that. Let's go. Let's open up the mailbag. You send an email and we read it all the air. It's something we call Bobby Mailbag. Hello, Bobby Bones. I told my good friend something
Starting point is 00:07:24 that I've never told anyone before. Then last week, I was hanging out with a few mutual friends and one of them said something that made me think they know my secret. I asked my friend if they told anyone. They swore they didn't. They said that I must have just misunderstood or that it was a coincidence. Now, I don't know what to do.
Starting point is 00:07:44 It felt like my friends were laughing at me behind my back. Should I say something? Should I just trust my friend? They didn't say anything. Should I assume I'm just being paranoid? Secretive Sam. Yeah, secrets are tough. I'm telling you probably didn't misunderstand what the friend said.
Starting point is 00:08:01 And are you sure it's, that's the. only friend you told it to. Yeah, that's... They're probably sure. If you're sure, that's the only friend you told you murdered that person and threw them.
Starting point is 00:08:10 And then it came back around, it's that friend. Now, if you might have told a couple other people, if you might. But usually in these situations, your gut is right. I think a good question here is like,
Starting point is 00:08:22 do they drink? Like, does this person drink? Because sometimes when you drink, man, you just, you don't remember what you're saying. Because I don't know about that life. Yeah. And you're talking...
Starting point is 00:08:30 So you're telling me, Bobby told you a secret. You're not supposed to tell anybody. No, no, no. You drink. No, I'm talking about Bobby if he drank and he told the secret like, I just told one person. Or did I just go one person? No, she's saying the same thing.
Starting point is 00:08:43 It's just to you. Yeah, to you drink. You just didn't want it on you. Yeah. Like, you're lied. You can, if I tell you a secret and you're drinking, you're going to tell people. Dang, I guess it can happen to anyone. No.
Starting point is 00:08:52 You're saying you. I mean, maybe. I think that you just now need to be more cautious what you say to your friends. And you have every right to ask around more details if you want to. want to. Yeah, I definitely would ask the people that even said it. Like, hey, when you were saying that about me, like, what do you know? And if they continue to elaborate or if they're like, no, no, no, nothing, you know where it came from. Interesting. Trust your gut on this one. And then just probably be more protective or find your friends. Or just don't have secrets.
Starting point is 00:09:23 Yeah. If they're making fun of him, it might be something very personal, embarrassing. They don't want other people to know. Micro? Yeah. Micro. Yeah. Micro. Yeah. Micro. I would definitely ask questions of not the person you told the secret to, but the others. And if they can't convince you otherwise, I would not tell that other person anything ever again. People love a good secret because they like to tell a good secret. And I like to say, I know the secret, but you don't tell anybody. And then once it gets two generations away, you don't mean loyalty to the secret. And people love saying like, hey, don't tell anyone else.
Starting point is 00:09:56 You promise you can tell anybody. Right. And they've told that to ten people. But here's a thing, too, if you tell somebody a secret, there's no secret. the person doesn't tell their husband or wife. Because you're one. Some relationships have that. There are no secrets.
Starting point is 00:10:09 You know, when I had my big secret, recently, the million dollar secret, my wife was like, just tell me. I'm like, nope. Well, that one costs you. Yeah, that costs you. Yeah. All right, do some investigating
Starting point is 00:10:18 and then find new friends. All right, there you go. Close it up. We've got your email and we read it on the game. Oh, Bobby's mail pack. Morgan, you think you're an Uber driver. May I try to kidnap you? Yeah, unfortunately.
Starting point is 00:10:33 I think so. So she has a lot of, like, situation with Uber drivers. Like it's like creepy stuff Come back by your house But tell us this story Why do you think your Uber driver Try to kidnap you? Okay, so I did double check all the license
Starting point is 00:10:47 This was my Uber driver I got in and we're driving a little bit This is coming home from the airport And so it's like 20 minutes away from my house And we're about 10 minutes in And all of a sudden I see he misses an exit And I was like, okay And I asked him
Starting point is 00:11:03 I was like, hey, you know you're going the wrong way he's like, yeah, I missed it. Like, I'll get back on over here. And so we keep going and I'm paying attention now on my map on the phone. And he takes another missed exit. And I was like, I'm kind of sitting there. I'm like, do I say something? What do I do?
Starting point is 00:11:21 And I'm like, are we so good? Are we like heading to my house? What's kind of going on? He's like, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, I just missed it. And then finally, finally we make it to my house. Like we went 15 minutes out the wrong direction. And I think had I not been so like, what's happening? Where are you going?
Starting point is 00:11:39 What's going on? I think I might have been kidnapped. But it tracks you. See, that's the thing about Uber and kidnapping is I feel like you're, you can see where you're going. So therefore it's all being tracked. Unless the person just wants to murder and be done with it. But then it happens more often than you think, really? So the murder would have happened if she wouldn't have questioned the exits?
Starting point is 00:12:00 I don't know. I mean, maybe he's just trying to get her somewhere. He's like, shoot, this one pays attention. Any chance he was forgetful or sleepy? It's definitely possible. Like that's always a possibility, but I'm like, you're an Uber driver. How did you miss two exits? You know where you're going.
Starting point is 00:12:15 And after the first miss, you'd think they'd be pretty aware to not miss a second one. Yeah, especially after you've gone so much out of the way. Like we were already 10 minutes out of the way, and now you go out of the way even further. Guys, what do you think? What do you think happened here? I'm leaning towards the he was just missing the exit. I don't think he was trying to kill her or kidnapper. because like really if he wanted to do it
Starting point is 00:12:35 he just would have been like no okay I want to find the other exit and you're dead well that's been like you have you not seen the stories where people like barrel roll out of cars because they like won't stop when you started to think about your I was like crap like here comes like losing my luggage I'm just going to have to jump out but you've had a few like incidents
Starting point is 00:12:51 which is probably why she's on her toes sure but why does it keep happening to you I don't know do I do I just like am I super susceptible to this like do I give off energy like hey please kidnap me are you getting into Uber's alone really late at night all by yourself a lot. I get
Starting point is 00:13:07 into Uber's alone a lot. I can't control that because I'm by myself. But not really at night. I mean, this was 12 o'clock during the day. Well, I'm glad you're okay and you did not get kidnapped or murdered, right everybody? Yeah. But I think it's good to be aware. It seems like Morgan has... Watch your map
Starting point is 00:13:23 while you do it. It's called what situational awareness. Okay, well, we're happy you're here. Yeah, me too, man. And we'd be sad if you weren't. I would just stop taking Uber. No, I think you should just right when you get in the Uber, be like, hi. Imagine you're losing!
Starting point is 00:13:36 I have a gun. I'm paying attention. I have pepper spray. Like, don't mess with me. I have 911 ready to go. Don't mess with me. I want to play a voice in my hear from Tyler. He lives in Oregon.
Starting point is 00:13:46 Here you go. I was just calling to follow up. I want to make sure that Eddie has on his calendar this Saturday to go to his Leonard Skinnered pepper band concert show this Saturday alone. Want to make sure he does it. I just purchased my one. singular ticket, which by the way, automatically comes in two.
Starting point is 00:14:07 It always makes you feel a little weird when you have to hit minus one. But I'm going, so I'm upholding Eddie to go to his concert that he wants to go so badly. Let me know if he's going. All right, thank you. Eddie, that's this Saturday? That's part of the bit. You committed to go on to the show because this
Starting point is 00:14:23 is your, you chose to get these Leonard Skinner tickets. I thought it was really Leonard Skinner. No. This is the tribute band. They're called Tuesday's Gone. Tuesday's gone with the wind. What is she talking about alone? I can't take someone with me. I can take like my son with me, right?
Starting point is 00:14:40 Because now I feel like I should tell him. I thought it was that you had to go alone. But you know what? You take whatever you want. As long as you go and take some pictures of video, are you being there? Because you made me choose those tickets. That is true.
Starting point is 00:14:51 What was the choice? Well, because they called, it's like the fire department. They were like, do you want to donate? I was live on the air. I was like, okay, I guess I will. And the prize was either that or like a sticker or something. that said you were like, I want to get the tickets. I did say that. I shook him. I'm out of my mouth shut.
Starting point is 00:15:05 Yeah. So. Wow, special guest, November blue. Huh? We haven't got there early. It's time for the good news. With producer Eddie. Alvin is a mailman from Dallas, Texas, and he's been doing this for 20 years, but he's also a Marine Corps veteran. So he's at work. He's going through his mailbag, and at the very bottom,
Starting point is 00:15:27 he finds these old letters. Like, what is this? It's a Christmas card from 1942, which is World War II. Do we think that No one had gotten to the bottom of the bag? I guess there are like so many hamptors in like the mail room or whatever That sometimes the mail just gets lost in those things Would you call them a hamter? Hamper
Starting point is 00:15:46 Hamper. Hamper. But from 1942. And he's like reaching the box. So he finds that and a bunch of other letters from that same time. He's like, this is crazy. He looks at them. They're addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lamb of Jacksonville, Arkansas.
Starting point is 00:16:01 all. He's like, these are World War II letters from a soldier. So he got in his own car on his day off, drove 379 miles, found the people that it was addressed to and delivered to them themselves. Were they still alive? They're still alive, yeah. I mean, the family, somebody of the family, whoever owned that house,
Starting point is 00:16:17 whether it's like a daughter or a son or whatever, yeah, they were still there. They were in their 80s. I'm going to be willing to bet that if that mailman wasn't a former veteran, he's a veteran now, but a former military member, he wouldn't have done that. I don't Some mailman are good, but I bet that meant extra to him because he had also served.
Starting point is 00:16:36 Yeah. And also I hear that like, you can get a job as a mailman, that's like the greatest job. Why? Benefits. It's like a government job. You get all the holidays off. Yeah, but they all seem like they're in a bad mood. Not my mailman.
Starting point is 00:16:46 My mailman's like always nice, but people at the post office don't seem very happy. But that's not a mailman. But also sometimes people in line at the post office, the customers can be equally as rude. And the lighting in there's just weird. But also you're not a mailman. Those are postal worker. That's a postal worker. There's a distinct difference there.
Starting point is 00:17:01 I'm always weirded out by the male man or male woman, whatever, with the steering wheel on the wrong side. Yeah. You can think and go to London and just like kill it. Oh, I didn't think about that. Just like drive like awesome over there. They feel better driving in the UK. That's a great story. That's what it's all about.
Starting point is 00:17:17 That was Tell Me Something Good. Elder versus millennial trivia. We'll go to lunchbox first. He's the captain of cringe. He says all he does is when. His car is covered in dirt. And every day wears the same free t-shirt. shirt. It's Lunchbox.
Starting point is 00:17:32 Hey, you're glad. We got to clap. I know you guys want to cold them out. We got to clap. Lunchbox, I'm going to ask you questions. Abby should know the answer to these, but I'm going to ask you her questions. Yeah. Lunchbox, what pop rock band is known for the 2000 hits How to Save a Life, and you
Starting point is 00:17:49 found me? The fray. Correct. Wow. Thanks. By the way, lunchbox is up to zero. He's dominating. Lunchbox. What group? Release the hit album Me and My Gang in 2006. What group?
Starting point is 00:18:09 Did you say group? What group released the hit album, Me and My Gang, in 2006? Oh, boy. Jonas Brothers. Incorrect. Abby, you can steal. Rousco Flats. Correct.
Starting point is 00:18:24 Abby with the steal. Final question. Lunchbox. What 2003 romantic comedy stars Hugh Grant and follows multiple intertwined love story. Stories. What 2003 Romantic Comedy stars Hugh Grant and follows multiple intertwined to love stories. Oh, boy, Hugh Grant. That's that dude.
Starting point is 00:18:47 He's foreign. He's got an accent. Oh, man. Need an answer? 12 Christmases. Incorrect. Abby, you can steal. It's not love actually.
Starting point is 00:19:05 Are you asking a question? Are you answering a question? Love actually. Correct. That's what I was looking for. Abby with two steals. Finally. Let's go over to Abby.
Starting point is 00:19:13 Her and Lunchbox have a long-lasting feud, but if she doesn't win today, she might be screwed. It's Abby. These are questions a little older. Okay. Abby, ready? What was the name of the brand of the portable audio player and recorder that Sony made? What was the name of the brand of the portable audio players and recorders that Sony made? The Walkman?
Starting point is 00:19:36 Correct. Okay. What Swedish pop group released the song Take On Me in 1985 and accompanied it with a groundbreaking music video? Take on me, take me on. I know how it goes, but they're Swedish? What Swedish pop group? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:20:02 No answer? Nope. Lunchbox. Yeah, uh-huh. Correct. Oh, wow. Wow. I don't know how that just popped in my head.
Starting point is 00:20:09 How did you get that? How did you? It literally just popped in my head. I had no idea. Oh, me. Wow. Right. Hey.
Starting point is 00:20:17 What's the name of the 1981 song featuring Queen and David Bowie? Very famous song, 1981. Queen with David Bowie. Not we will rock you. Why can't I think of it, Queen? I don't know. Dang it. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:20:45 Dang it, I don't know. Not the answer? Lunchbox? The only Queen song I know is Bohemian Rhapsody. that your answer? Yep incorrect it is under pressure
Starting point is 00:20:57 it's the vanilla ice song and he stole that from them no he didn't it was his is the dun da dun da da da now he did and he owns that too now he bought that
Starting point is 00:21:07 publishing to that song under pressure didn't know that Abby you're the winner wow there you go 2 1 Abby tag okay
Starting point is 00:21:13 finally you can have opinions you can have like a strong stance and then there's your body having its own program. I'm Dr. Maya Shunker, a cognitive scientist and hosts of the podcast, a slight change of plans, a show about who we are and who we become when life makes other plans.
Starting point is 00:21:37 We share stories and scientific insights to help us all better navigate these periods of turbulence and transformation. There is one finding that is consistent, and that is that our resilience rests on our relationships. I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change. We have to be willing to live with a kind of uncertainty that none of us likes. Listen to a slight change of plans on the I-HeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I feel like it was a little bit unbelievable until I really start making money. It's Financial Literacy Month and the podcast eating while broke is bringing real conversations about money, growth, and building your future.
Starting point is 00:22:26 This month, hear from top streamer, Zoe Spencer, and venture capitalist Lakeisha Landrum Pierre, as they share their journeys from starting out to leveling up. If I'm outside with my parents and they're seeing all these people come up to me for pictures, it's like, what? Today now, obviously, it's like 100%. They believe everything. But at first, it was just like, you got to go get a real job. There's an economic component to community striving. If there's not enough money and entrepreneurship happening in communities, they fail. And what I mean by fail is they don't have money to pay for food. They cannot feed their kids. They do not have homes. Communities don't work unless there's money flowing through them.
Starting point is 00:23:03 Listen to Eating While Broke from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. When you listen to podcasts about AI and tech and the future of humanity, the hosts always act like they know what they're talking about and they are experts at everything. Here at the Nick Dick and Poll show, we're not afraid to make mistakes. What Coogler did that I think was so unique. He's the writer-director. Who do you think he is? I don't know. You mean the like the president?
Starting point is 00:23:35 You think Canada has a president. You think China has a president. The law crusade. God, I love that thing. I use it all the time. I wrap it in a blanket and sing to it at night. It's like the old Polish saying, not my monkeys, not my circus. It was a good one.
Starting point is 00:23:53 I like that snake. It is an actual Polish saying. Yeah. It is an actual Polish saying. Better version of Play Stupid Games, win stupid prizes. Yes. Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift, who said that for the first time. I actually thought it was.
Starting point is 00:24:05 I got that wrong. Listen to the Nick Dick and Poll show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Jacob from Texas requested this segment we're about to do. Hey, Bobby. My wife, Shelley, is a huge fan here. Hey, I called a few, probably two months ago about y'el's movie segment. and y'all finally did it, and y'all did the new movie, Roman Holiday. We watched that, and we're just waiting so we can get a new movie to watch
Starting point is 00:24:30 because we struggle to pick a movie, but we love it. Thanks. So we're going to keep the segment going, which, by the way, Bobby Bone Cinema Club. Welcome to the Cinema Club, everybody. Ah, thank you. Where we all put a movie in the hat, we draw it, we watch it. He was making a joke there because that movie he's talking about. The new movie. Yeah, yeah. It was from like 1950s.
Starting point is 00:24:46 Eddie made us watch. It's good, though. It was good, though. It was fine. It was really good. It wasn't good, but it was good considering it was made that long ago. Audrey Hepburn? If you watched it as a new movie, if that was passed along as a new movie, you'd hate it.
Starting point is 00:24:59 Okay, sure, true, true. But it was good for old, old. It's like a history lesson. Cinema classic. All right, so we've all put movies in the hat. You want to share what the movies are? Oh, that'd be great. You want to share what I'm...
Starting point is 00:25:10 Yeah, that'd be awesome. Okay. I just dropped one. Amy, what movie did you put in the hat? A good year. What's that? With Russell Crow. Did you mean to say Gladiator with Russell Crow?
Starting point is 00:25:21 Because that'd be cool. The Gladiator is awesome, but it is a movie that shows just how diverse of an actor he can be going from Gladiator to, he's like a hedge fund guy that inherits a vineyard and you follow that journey. Oh, I love a good vineyard love story. All right. No, it's so good. Lunchbox, what did you put in? Bobby, it'll teach you.
Starting point is 00:25:41 It gets 20, oh my God, it's got 26% of Rotten tomatoes. 26%? It's the biggest flat I've ever seen. We can't do that. We can't do that. That's wrong. That's incorrect. Wow.
Starting point is 00:25:50 Lunchbox is your movie? I got the Barclay Marathons, the race that eats its young. It's a documentary. Get ready to have your life changed. Is it a horror documentary or running documentary? Running documentary. Okay. Extreme race, outdoors.
Starting point is 00:26:05 67% positive. Although that doesn't sound terrible. 85% I'm looking at it. It is fantastic. Eddie. Yeah, from 1946, it is Key Largo. Why do you do this with us with these movies? Dude, they're cinema classics.
Starting point is 00:26:18 And this is Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. of you know their story, they like fell in love. I don't know who they are. They got married eventually, but he was married. 97% positive. Let's go! Yeah, because what? How many reviews? One?
Starting point is 00:26:32 Two old people that know how to use the internet. Exactly. Yeah. Okay. Morgan? this is one of my favorite movies of all time. It's Ready Player One. Oh, it's such a good movie. That one's really good movie. Ray? The Wrong Missy. Get Ready to laugh. David Spade. It is hilarious.
Starting point is 00:26:46 Hawaii. You know I'm a tropical guy when it comes to movies. The Wrong Missy. I would say one of the best comedies we've had in the last couple decades. Is it rom-com? 32% positive in Rottner. Ray likes those random Netflix movies that come out with old comedians. Got a higher percentage than mine? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:03 And mine might be the highest percentage out of everyone. Mine is, I was going to do back to the future, but I feel like everybody's already seen that. Yeah, pick that one. No, no, I didn't. I ended up picking Pop Star, don't stop popping. It's so funny. Andy Sandberg. It's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.
Starting point is 00:27:18 It is, it's like the, made like the office in a mockumentary, but it's based on like Bieber and boy bands. It's so funny. So I hope we get that so we can all enjoy it together. We'll do a showing. I haven't seen that one, man. On the show.
Starting point is 00:27:31 We'll watch it live. Okay. Are you ready to draw? Yes. Here we go. Oh, one fell out. That's got to be the one. No, it's a casualty.
Starting point is 00:27:42 That's a casualty. We'll not be doing this one. What was it? The one we're not doing is the Barclay Marathons. Oh, shocking. The race that eats it's young? I don't know, dude. Okay, this one we're going to do.
Starting point is 00:27:53 Please don't be any. Stop, you guys don't know how good this is. Bobby, if you watch a good year, it could change your life. I hear you. I'm going to have watered up, don't you, haven't even seen it yet. Amy, unveil what movie we're watching. Got it. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:28:11 Go ahead. The unusual suspects? Is that scuba Steve? Oh, that's scuba's. It's the usual suspects. That's a fantastic film. What the heck is that? We can finally watch them.
Starting point is 00:28:21 It's actually good for us. This is from 1995. Yeah, it's got Bill. Nisa O Toro. It's got Kevin Spacey, Stephen Baldwin. I don't want to say anything with Kevin Spacey anymore. Sorry. Well, you have to because this is what we're doing. This is before all that.
Starting point is 00:28:34 It's before all, it's before everybody knew. Exactly. Yeah, this is what I'm going. Wait. 87% positive. I think you've got to quit it. It's a fantastic girl. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. Okay. We're now watching the usual suspects. Is this gangster?
Starting point is 00:28:48 It's a gangster. It's got a, I don't want to say anything because it's one of those movies you're going to watch and at the end, your jaw will be on the floor. Okay. That's it. Two weeks, guys. Wow. The usual suspects.
Starting point is 00:28:57 Don't watch the unusual suspects. Watch the usual suspects. I'm watching that trailer for the new Twisters movie, which Mike D. You say Twister 1 is your favorite movie of all time. Yeah, I've seen it over 50 times. I'm super excited for the new one. Do you learn about anything when you watch something over 15 times? Do you ever learn new things now?
Starting point is 00:29:16 It's just enjoyment. It's like my comfort movie. 50 times. Yeah. Wow. They shot this one in Oklahoma, Twisters. And Luke Combs is on the sound. contract and he will be in next week to talk about that.
Starting point is 00:29:27 I recognize the female from... Where the Crawdads sing. Where the Crawdads sing. Yeah, Daisy Edgar Jones. Glenn Powell's a really good looking guy. Amy, did you watch the movie with him? Yeah, yeah, yeah. What's the one on Netflix?
Starting point is 00:29:40 Anyone but you. Mm-hmm. That's it. Yeah, what's her name? Sidney Swin. Sydney Swain. Do you like that? I did.
Starting point is 00:29:47 I liked it. It's like a good for your at home Netflix, rom-com. Did you think he's super good looking? Yes. Okay, me too. I'm just making sure. We had the same taste.
Starting point is 00:29:53 He's like really good looking. You want to make sure we have the same taste of men? Yeah, he's really good looking. Yeah, very. He's in that, Anthony Ramos. Twisters in theaters July 19th. Will you get like a early version, Mike? I don't know, so.
Starting point is 00:30:06 I've been waiting to see this movie. Dang. It does look good. At one point, I was watching the trailer where the tornado gets into the, like, the factory. There's a fire nadeo. Ooh. Is that real? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:30:19 I don't know if you can even do that. And then they had like the GoPro inside the truck so you can see all like the motion when the tornado. Yeah, it looks cool. Anyway, I do also want to mention this. If you've got a Red Cross.org slash Twisters, you can make a minimum donation of $10. But Universal Pictures is partnering with the American Red Cross
Starting point is 00:30:34 to help people affected by the disasters as well. So Red Cross.org slash Twisters, if you want to check that out. And we will be checking out the usual suspects. Scoobo Steve, good job. It feels like a movie that right down the middle will just be probably pretty good with no real intention. It's my favorite movie of all time.
Starting point is 00:30:50 Like Eddie trying to make us watch old movies. Yes. Amy trying to make us watch love movies. Let's box something weird and campy. Yeah, I don't know what this one is to have enough opinion about that. I like documentaries. Yeah, but normally... They're eating kids in this one?
Starting point is 00:31:00 It says the race that are eating the young. Yeah, feels weird. All right, thank you. The Bobby Bone Cinema Club is back at it. You have two weeks from today starting now. Go. Bones. Here is, Anne from Iowa.
Starting point is 00:31:13 I have a story that would be perfect for that tell me something good. Here in Northwest Iowa, the county sheriff actually found a dog that was shot in a ditch and got him to a rescue and got him surgery. They had to amputate the entire leg and shoulder of the dog. And now the dog has been adopted by that county sheriff's family. So it's in Cherokee, Iowa. And hopefully you guys will talk about it on the air. We just did.
Starting point is 00:31:44 We let you do it. Thank you very much for sharing that. That's a tell me something good. And we do that segment at 55 after every single hour. But love that story. We love when people help animals. That's awesome. Here's Amy's pile of stories.
Starting point is 00:31:58 So earlier this week, we talked about the five love languages. Have you ever heard of the five stress languages? Help. That hurts. Why do you do that? That's three. No, but it's how you respond under stress. Like, it's where you go first.
Starting point is 00:32:13 So I don't know what the five are, but is there one where you put up walls shut down and figure it all right inside your own head, then only come out and say, I got it and not communicate with anybody ever, and it's very frustrating for your wife. That's specific. Well, I don't know if that's one of them. So I haven't that one. Let me go through them,
Starting point is 00:32:30 and then you can see if you feel like you can relate. The imploder. The imploder freezes in stressful situations, feels hopeless and helpless and paralyzed. No, that is not me. The exploder has an inflated reaction to a stressful situation, may get irritated, frustrated, or angry, and simply leave. That is lunchbox.
Starting point is 00:32:46 Yep. The fixer responds to stress with people-pleasing, mothering, and appeasement. that's weird it's not me read that one again the fixer responds to to stress with to stress with
Starting point is 00:33:01 people pleasing mothering and appeasement man that's a weird one who would do that I don't know okay I can do that sometimes the number
Starting point is 00:33:09 no it does you roll your eyes at us and explode on it she's like I don't explode no lunchbox explodes yeah I run around trying to fix y'all
Starting point is 00:33:18 you break down but you don't explode yeah is there one of those like break down the side of the road but don't explode The number numbs everything out with, you know, overworking, over-exercising, gaming.
Starting point is 00:33:29 There he is. Or alcohol. And then the fifth one is the denier. Practices toxic positivity in response to stress and is often overly optimistic to avoid reality. Eddie. That's me. What is that called? I think we've kind of found mostly ourselves here.
Starting point is 00:33:46 So lunchbox is the exploder. The last one's Eddie. What's that one? The denier. Okay, because it's like everything's in a good. Everything is good, good mood. Baby, don't worry. And I am, what's it called, the healthy?
Starting point is 00:33:59 Oh, no, it's like the number. Yeah, yeah. More so the number. And you so more so would be the mom one. The fixer. Sure. With a side of freak out. It's a freak out.
Starting point is 00:34:11 Fair enough. But like the freak out isn't freaking out other people. It's more so just like, you know. It's like internal combustion. Going into my car and screaming. Something like that. Well, a new study just came out talking about how social media is not making kids anti-social, if anything, they're communicating more with their friends online, so therefore
Starting point is 00:34:27 they're more social. Studies by Instagram and meta. In a different way. But that is, you say that this is true for you. I think I would never connect with a lot of people I've connected with if it weren't for social media. I don't know that I'm great in person, but I think connections, connection, at this point, we have so many ways to do it.
Starting point is 00:34:44 And some people undervalue you online connection because they're like, back in the good old days, we used to rub dirt on it. And it's like, it's not the good old days now, but except it's going to be the good old days to those kids later when they don't have to open their eyes and they can have a whole day at work. So, yeah, I mean, everybody's different, obviously, but I'm a big social media guy because I have actual friends that I've made and kept and really only know on social media, and I feel pretty fulfilled.
Starting point is 00:35:08 Yeah. So everybody can take that and put in their pipe. Yeah. I think you, like you said it great, everybody's different. It's just to be case by case. All right, there's a new trend popping up that apparently has been having for a while, but a mom's gone viral because she's putting pickles in her, like, Coke or Dr. Pepper or whatever her soft drink. And like if you're at Sonic, it's called the Dr. Pepper Pucker. And if you're at
Starting point is 00:35:28 Waterburger, it's called Which Doctor. Like, these are secret menu items. Do they actually make it? Because I've ordered a secret menu here, there, just to see if it works. And I was like, what is that? And then I feel stupid. And then I drive off. Well, her video that went viral is from her at Sonic ordering the Dr. Pepper Pucker. And the employee knows what she's doing. They're like, hey, just so you know, the pickles are going to show up as cherries on your receipt. And it'll be right out. And so that's something that's gone viral and people are trying it to see if they like it and I didn't know
Starting point is 00:35:57 anybody. I think it sounds like it would be gross but it probably is pretty good. Dr. Pepper Pecker? Yes. That's what you drink. We're drinking pickle peppers. Dr. Pepper Pucker or which doctor. Those are the two restaurants. I'm sure they're good. I never thought pickles and like strawberries would be good. It's really good. It's really good.
Starting point is 00:36:15 I know. So that's what's up. I mean. That's my pile. That was Amy's Pile of Story. It's time for the good news With Bobby Tell me something good His name's Louis Queen He's the chief custodian
Starting point is 00:36:30 At Four Seasons Elementary School And I wonder if it's called Four Seasons Elementary It's like super nice Like they have a brand to live up to Even though it's not the same thing As the Four Seasons Hotel Five Star
Starting point is 00:36:39 Yeah right I don't think's got to be like Like just plush Chocolates on the fillets But Louis's been there for 50 years working 50 years he's kept a shop They call him Mr. Louis He spent his entire career
Starting point is 00:36:49 Maintainting the school Think of all the generations students that he knows though. That's cool. From 50 years ago, he started when he was 17 and so now 50 years in, he's not retiring, although they gave him a party. He's like, hey, appreciate that party, but I'm like, imagine
Starting point is 00:37:05 the set of keys this guy had. Like if he never removes him because you forget what they are and he has that big key ring, they asked him what motivated him and he was like, hey, when I come to school in the morning and I see everybody starting a new day, it makes me feel good. So, Louis, that's awesome. I just 50 years doing any,
Starting point is 00:37:22 I'm not 50 years old. That's crazy. If you're doing anything. Like that's no, no controversy. Louis must be completely controversyless or uncancellable even. You probably couldn't get canceled back in the day though, huh? Probably no internet. Good job, Louis, 50 years in.
Starting point is 00:37:38 That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. It's time for the investigative morning corny's. A morning corny. We'll have 90 seconds, team. How many can we get? Amy will just lay out a bunch of morning. Morning Cornies. The record is six and 90 seconds.
Starting point is 00:37:57 Come on. Lunchbox, Eddie, myself. Ready. Ready. Ready. Ready. Ready. Ready. Go. Why did the boy get fired from his keyboard factory job? Keyboard factory. Shift. Oh, yeah. Shifts was over.
Starting point is 00:38:09 Bad shift. Too long a shift. Shift. Shift work. Didn't like shift work. That works. Okay. Okay. Okay. What kind of computer seems the best? Ram. Ramm. Adele. Adel. Adele. That's good. Good job. Okay. What happens when a hard.
Starting point is 00:38:25 Drive gets into a fight. You said it's a bull too sexy for me, but okay. A hard drive. Gets into a fight. Corrupt. It's kind of weird about you said it. A hard drive gets into a fight. What happens?
Starting point is 00:38:36 A street fight. A hard drive get into a fight. Fair knuckle fight. What is a hard drive? It gets a virus. Hard drive. Ram. What does a hard drive?
Starting point is 00:38:47 A hard drive has stuff on. Locked up. A hard drive. Freezes. Hard drive. See, you're saying it word. No, I'm trying not to say it weird, though. What happens when a hard drive.
Starting point is 00:38:57 Oh boy. Oh, boy. It gets rammed? What happens when... That's what I'm saying. That's not going to. No, I know. I'm not saying.
Starting point is 00:39:05 It's what I'm going to be. What happens when a hard drive gets into a fight. It gets boot. I don't know. A hard drive. It's got to get rebooted. It needs a hard drive. Backup.
Starting point is 00:39:17 It needs backup. That calls for backup. That'd be a cop. Yes. Yes, that's it. It asks for back out. Oh, that's it. Good.
Starting point is 00:39:24 Go, go, go, go. Why did the computer catch a cold? They got a virus. Shoot, that works. That's not the one. Oh, then that's not it. It caught a cold. That's the easiest down the middle.
Starting point is 00:39:36 I'm so good. I was it? It had too many windows open. Oh, that's next level. Yeah. That's next level. You just kept on a hard drive and I yelled RAM and then it just felt weird. The whole thing felt weird.
Starting point is 00:39:48 Good job, everybody. This whole segment's about money. Number one, mystery money, family. in different Ohio bathrooms. Let me read you the story. Give me your theory as to what's happening. Mystery Cash has been found in multiple locations, and they go through the different towns in Ohio.
Starting point is 00:40:05 More than $20,000 was found in a bathroom at the Avalon Theater. Last Thursday night, over $10,000 was found in a bathroom of a Kentucky Fried Chicken. All in all, not just those, but over $40,000 has been found so far. Different in each location. The money was hidden in a way
Starting point is 00:40:21 that you'd have to know where to look. It's believed that, All the discoveries are connected. It's just not clear how yet. That's from NBC4I. Do you think something suspicious is going on? Drugs, cartel. It's an exchange of funds for something.
Starting point is 00:40:35 And there's probably way more than that out there. But these are the ones that got discovered. All bathroom. And your discoveries about cartel, you love reading about the cartels. Is this a thing they do? A lot of bathrooms? I thought drive-thrues were a thing.
Starting point is 00:40:48 I don't know bathrooms were. I don't know. It's just my theory right now. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, mine is it's a wacky game of find the cash in the bathroom on TikTok. Oh. See, mine's a little happier than yours. But that's where my mind goes.
Starting point is 00:41:01 Like it's somebody doing it for social media cloud. That's a lot of money. Or it's somebody who's planted it and then planted the findings of it so a story could come out so they could get their brand. Eventually, there's some reveal. Oh, like we don't know yet. Yeah, like that could be it too. Or it could just be old, good old fashioned drugs. Right.
Starting point is 00:41:17 Good old fashioned drugs. There's a nightclub in New York, $50,000 to get into the door. But what do you get with that? Well, it's called ZZs. It's a private club that promises a food concierge who will procure any culinary experience you want. From a Thanksgiving feast to your mama's fried chicken to Iranian caviar. So they've got 7,000 applications to be members. And so I guess it's $50,000 to get you in the door as in like to be a part of the club.
Starting point is 00:41:43 And then you've got to pay for the food. Okay. New York Post. You get to declare one food in front of you today at lunch. It doesn't matter what food, what style. What do you do? around any any at all what do you do Eddie I'm gonna go a really big pepperoni mushroom pizza
Starting point is 00:41:59 what's special about it? I just love it okay that's special lunchbox love it ha man you're saying special it can be whatever you want but they can make it it doesn't matter you say I would go chicken fried steak with white gravy I want fried okra half of it half of it a little extra fried I want mashed potatoes with the same white gravy don't give me dark gravy I want white gravy on that too.
Starting point is 00:42:23 I want corn on the cob, but I want a little street corn sprinkle on the corn on the cob as well. And for dessert, I want like, I don't even like apples, but for some reason I like apple slices, like cooked with the cinnamon on top of them during this meal. Like that's what I want. I want it just like that. You know exactly what you want. Yeah, and maybe once a year do I have that. I'll have just go to cracker barrel.
Starting point is 00:42:44 To be all there. But like, that's my special favorite meal. I'll take a Mexican feast. Like we've got fajitas, queso, guac, chips, like salsa, all the things. Like sour cream. Like a bar?
Starting point is 00:42:57 Like a whole, yeah. Then everybody around the table with rice and beans, like mine's an experience with the family and homemade tortillas. Yeah, that sounds delicious, Amy. But I'm going to go shrimp, lobster, gumbo. Dang, four different kinds. Seafood. Seafood.
Starting point is 00:43:11 Just, oh, jumbalaya. We were in Texas and not the Coast, Texas. And the guy comes up, he goes, you want to. a shell, what's that? Oyster? Oyster. Does you want an oyster?
Starting point is 00:43:24 He's walking up with like a belt on with oysters in it. Like on the street? Like in a bar. Okay. And I was like, I like oysters. But then it's like the more landlocked you go, the riskier it is. Do you feel that way?
Starting point is 00:43:37 Any seafood at all? Yeah, Austin is Central Texas. There's not like the oysters right there. Yeah, right, right. It's not super far from water. No, no, I hear you. But, I mean, you can get a flight. You can get a flight into Oklahoma.
Starting point is 00:43:47 But again, the more middle, like I don't go to Iowa for top-notch lobster. I don't know a lobster. I go to Iowa for, you know, the mill I just talked about. Do you ever go in the more middle of the country? Like a little more where you are of the food, if it's seafood? Yes, I consider that. I don't have late food. Sure, like a nice croppy.
Starting point is 00:44:06 Like, well, a catfish. A catfish. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The North Carolina Education Lottery said there were 5,000 winning tickets on Monday because the pick 3, 666. There were 5,000 people that played those numbers, too. I wouldn't redeem that. If you won, you wouldn't redeem it. 666, dude, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:44:24 That's the devil's money. But you're the one that played it. You're the one that kept the ticket. It could have been quick pick or what do you call it? But you would have looked right then. Eish. Well, if it quick pick 666, I had a bad dog. That's what I'm saying, man.
Starting point is 00:44:35 I'm not even checking. But if I picked it, I'm already a bad person. So yeah, let's go. But if it's quick. Or you're being funny. Right, right. Could that be someone's address? Yeah, 666.
Starting point is 00:44:44 John Smith Drive. Sure. It'd be tough. I don't know if there are. I mean, they may do like number 13 in some elevators. Hotels where it just doesn't exist. But your theories that it does exist. Well, I'm talking about it.
Starting point is 00:44:55 But it'd be weird like, hey, there's a, my friend's a chiropractor. Oh, I'd like to go check him out. Where's he at? 666. Martin Luther King Drive. Oh, my God. Yeah, I'm not going there. Like, I wouldn't even want that.
Starting point is 00:45:03 Yeah. I'd be like, yeah, that's the chiropractor that's going to crack my neck and I die. If I go to Google Maps and just type in 666. See what happens. So even in town, there's a 666. 6th Avenue North. What's there? That's where he lives.
Starting point is 00:45:19 An abandoned building. It's just smoke. It's red. Yeah. Like that's where the devil is. We just have never even looked at the address. Yeah, there's a lot of 666s actually. Top things that shopaholics buy,
Starting point is 00:45:31 or if people just want to spend money, top things they buy. Females, what do they buy most if it's like shopping time? Shoes. Clothes, number one. Okay. Guys, there are three things. We'll take alcohol off.
Starting point is 00:45:43 There are two things. That's three. Okay. Tools. What I thought. Okay, tools. Food. Food. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:45:49 Food could be alcohol, I guess. Shoes? Sports memorabilia. Oh, man. That's all you. Yeah. Are you, did you just add that in there? Okay.
Starting point is 00:46:00 I see it. Yeah. But that's just, you're the only person I know that buys that. That's what's up. Dude, and if you drink there, you'd be the whole list. Come on. I should start drinking then. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:46:14 You can have a. opinions. You can have like a strong stance. And then there's your body having its own program. Starting point is 00:48:27 Who do you think he is? I don't know. You mean, like, the president? You think Canada has a president. You think China has a president? Love Guzette. God, I love that thing. I use it all the time.
Starting point is 00:48:41 I wrap it in a blanket and sing to it at night. It's like the old Polish saying, not my monkeys, not my circus. Yep. It was a good one. I like that snake. It is an actual Polish saying. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:53 It is an actual Polish name. Better version of Play Stupid Games, win stupid prizes. Yes. Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift, who said that for the first time. I actually thought it was. I got that wrong. Listen to the Nick Dick and Poll show on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Let's do Internet show and tell.
Starting point is 00:49:12 What can you bring me from the Internet that will engage our audience, entertain our audience? Lunchbox, you go first. Oh, there's this guy. He goes on that antique road show. show and he has something that's really old and he's like oh it's probably worth a little bit of money it's like an old poem by oscar wild don't know who that is but when he gets told how much it's worth it's like maybe bobby's on to something i love these clips when people find out their stuff's worth a whole bunch all right go ahead i discovered the text of the poem it's actually quite a well-known and
Starting point is 00:49:40 very famous poem by wild called the new remorse i would put an auction estimate conservatively of ten to fifteen thousand dollars right great how much you think it was worth like 10 bucks he does like 2,000 bucks he's like oh it's probably worth a couple thousand but he doesn't seem very uh he doesn't he's kind of like cool cool I think he's surprised I'd be like what repeat that again I think he thinks he's being scanned well maybe really are you sure do you want me to pay it up front pay you $10 so you can tell me you on my account number Amy what do you have okay so our brains this is like something cool that it does like we interpret based on our expectations so you can like hear something and if you're looking
Starting point is 00:50:23 at the words and the words are telling you that it's saying that is embarrassing, that is exactly what you'll hear. Like green needle? Green needle. Sort of. Laurel. Sort of. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So, okay, is he going to tell us about it here? Yeah, there's a clip.
Starting point is 00:50:35 Our eyes and ears take in electrical signals which our brains interpret based on our expectations. I, yeah, listen, I do this thing where I don't read words fully. I just assume what they are based on the first couple letters, but that's just me seeing a word and going, I think I know what it is, I'm going to interpret it and move on. But then it also gets much, much larger macro scale of if you don't really think it can happen, it's probably not going to happen. And our brains, we only have 2% of them that works. Something like that, remember?
Starting point is 00:51:05 Well, the example that they gave is like, if you were to read, that is embarrassing. And then that's what you would hear. But really, they were saying, that isn't my receipt. That isn't my receipt. It's a wild video. We probably needed a visual for this one. Yeah. Oh.
Starting point is 00:51:20 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, there was the audio part to that too. Yeah, yeah. Oh, I'm looking at it now. So you look at Word? Yeah, it's like if you are seeing that is embarrassing, even though what you're hearing is that isn't my receipt, you will hear.
Starting point is 00:51:36 You will hear that is embarrassing. It's tough. Okay. It is tough, but it is fascinating. We need a visual. Okay, Eddie. Okay, I've never, ever thought that Elvis is still alive. Ever.
Starting point is 00:51:47 It's too old now, though, even if he did live, right? Well, he died in. Like 81, 79, something like that. Yeah, something like that. And he was in his 30s. Okay, go ahead. He'd still be alive. Maybe.
Starting point is 00:51:58 But, you know, there's certain things that you see, like his headstones, his name Aaron was misspelled. That's his middle age, yeah. Sure. So, I saw something where this guy attended Lisa Marie's funeral. No one knew who he was. His name was Bob Joyce. He's a pastor. And they said, huh?
Starting point is 00:52:15 Isn't he from Arkansas? I don't know. He might be from Arkansas. I've heard about this guy before. Go ahead. Look, look, look, I got a clip of him. Him singing. He's a pastor. This is him singing at church. Who's us to?
Starting point is 00:52:25 I'm not doing something with your hands or with your mind and heart. You're always on my mind. That's him doing a sermon. No, I hear you. And I've seen this guy. This is what I think. Because he does look like old Elvis. He does, but they've even pinpointed like how Elvis had a crooked pinky. He has a crooked pinky. Elvis had these weird like pointed eyebrows. He's got the pointed eyebrows.
Starting point is 00:53:04 So is it that he's Elvis or? Yeah, people think he's Elvis. Alleging. Here's what I would say to this. Well, also, it is close. And I don't think if you're hiding out, you drive from Memphis over to Arkansas. I just start. You probably go down the road. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:17 I don't think you just. But he loves the area, man. I hear you. I hear you. And also, don't you think this guy was always told, hey, you kind of look like Elvis. So then he started to adopt Elvis singing voice. It probably just morphed into that. Why was he at his own daughter's funeral?
Starting point is 00:53:30 I hear you. And then, what do you think if people kept calling you Elvis and you weren't? Or if you were Elvis? You wouldn't sing like this. in hiding. Hey, Elvis, you think he could just not sing all of a sudden? No, but he could sing differently. Like, I can sing like this.
Starting point is 00:53:47 That's how I would sing about hiding out from people. Not the Elvis way? I think you're a theory about like he just has told it a bunch, so therefore he started to adopt it. Praise the Lord. I don't know, man. They do show his hands and stuff in the video and it does match some of the Elvis hands. I might be a
Starting point is 00:54:02 believer. I don't think that's Elvis, but that's funny. Here's a trivia question from a show and it's called like the show's like the two percent it's a british show and i love trivia so i'll watch trivia questions all the time and they give you 30 seconds i did not get it in 30 seconds i got it in about almost 60 seconds so i would have been kicked off the question but i did get it so i'm going to give you guys the question and i'll give you a minute to see if you can get it okay here we go what is the largest number between one and one million that when written out in words doesn't contain the letter n one and one million when not one million when
Starting point is 00:54:36 written out doesn't contain the letter in. So you have one minute. And so all these people, and if you don't get it, you get eliminated, and you see who can last. It's the British show. One in one million, what's the last word that does not have an
Starting point is 00:54:50 in it? Amy's eyes are closed. The last number. When written, the word doesn't have an end in it. Lunchbox is up and he's in. You're in? Yeah. Okay. Good for you. It doesn't have a what?
Starting point is 00:55:08 N. Oh, dang, I had a. Wait, what? I was misspelling things. Okay. Okay, I think I'm in. 20 seconds? Between what?
Starting point is 00:55:20 One and what? One and one million. Oh, my God. One and one million. Time. Amy. Well, I get that it's not the full number, but the last number that I wrote was the eight. So nine.
Starting point is 00:55:43 Well, you can't do that. I need the number. Okay. Trivia question. Go. Okay. Oh, well, then. No answer.
Starting point is 00:55:48 Lunchbox. I have it. We're here. 999, whatever,000, 9. Those are all in. Those are all in. I wrote the last number I wrote was 8. So your answer would be 8.
Starting point is 00:55:58 That was a trick. Lunchbox. Yeah. 8. Eddie. Three. All right, there's the answer. Let's have a look at the answer.
Starting point is 00:56:07 It's 88. Oh, 88. Oh, 88. That's why I kept asking. You're like, what? What? It's 88. Because the 8's the only number, basically.
Starting point is 00:56:18 the highest only number. The highest. Two doesn't have it in. Three doesn't have it, but it's the highest. And you can't go in a hundred because that's the end. You can't go in a thousand because it's the end. 88. Okay, well.
Starting point is 00:56:31 You were almost there. I was almost like, what? Dang. Golly, I love being close. Wait. But we were off about 80. But what if you love getting it? I love getting it too, but I mean, it feels really.
Starting point is 00:56:42 That's a weird thing to love. I love second place. You were on the right track. You see that metal stand. I love that one right below that one. Because I didn't even think I was going to get anywhere near the correct answer. So I love that I was so close. She's a funny thing to say. I love getting close.
Starting point is 00:56:58 I do. Morgan, you have one of these? Yeah, I do. It's a huge scientific discovery. Scientists have just discovered remains of a buried planet deep within the Earth, which sounds crazy. So they're saying that they discovered two continent-sized basal mantle anomalies, which are basically just blobs beneath the Earth's crust. They're thinking that this was probably caused by a planet called Thea that smashed into Earth 4.5 billion years ago. It sounds like the guy from Big Bang Theory.
Starting point is 00:57:25 Yeah, Sheldon. Yeah, Sheldon. It's like Jim Parsons' character on Big Bang Theory. And do we believe him only because he says, trust me, bro? Well, no, so I read up further on this. And this planet also had impact. Basically, this whole new evidence is coming from NASA's grail craft that's on the moon because part of this planet, the impact, developed our Earth's moon.
Starting point is 00:57:44 wild. We just now figured this out. It's a theory. It came from NASA. Yeah, but still theories. Maybe a little too much for everybody taking in this early, Morgan. I like it. All right, there you go. That's show and tell. A rough night last night.
Starting point is 00:58:02 We had storms here. Possibly there were going to be tornadoes, so you always kind of keep one eye open. But I had both open because I was reverse eating all night. What does that mean? Well, you tell me. I got it. Oh, food was coming up or out.
Starting point is 00:58:20 The reverse. Out being, I know. I had like a stomach, a little stomach bug, but it wasn't that. And I laid down last night at like 8, 15 or so to go to bed. And I remember just feeling weird. I told my wife, I was like, something's not right. I'm going to go to sleep. So I turn on my Bill Simmons podcast and I floated away to Dreamy Dreamland.
Starting point is 00:58:37 I wake up like an hour and a half later. I'm like, oh, God. So I run upstairs because I don't want to wake her up. And I'm just like, I don't feel good. and all of a sudden I just starts I can't stop and then my head's killing me and so I feel like somebody's punched me from inside my skull
Starting point is 00:58:52 it's the worst headache ever had in my life and every time I throw up make the headache worse because you're like jarring your body so then I was like okay I want to take a bath turn the bath on then you get in hot water and your heart beats faster because of hot water than your head I thought I was gonna die
Starting point is 00:59:04 I thought it was it no more no more show wow it wasn't coming in we were so close to death and here I am no more show that's what you think of no more say or as Elvis the preacher would say hallelujah So what was it? I do not know.
Starting point is 00:59:17 I try to track back because I've been on a very regimented diet. I have to go tape a TV show for like nine days coming up. Still going to do the show, but I've got to go and I'll be in Salt Lake City doing the show for a week, a little over a week. So I keep a journal of the food I eat, how it makes me feel, the cravings I have, and my weight. Because mostly I want to know why I'm craving these crazy sugary things. Is it based on things I've done, exercises, the food I've already eaten, the sleep I've had, the sleep I've had? I had to keep all this in my little journal here. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:59:46 The only thing that I did differently the day before I could run two things by you. Number one, I used almond milk instead of like regular milk because I usually do 2% milk. I don't think that's going to make you sick. Me either, same. But that's like the leader in the clubhouse. There was also a piece of cheese on the calendar that I just saw sitting there and I just picked up I ate it earlier in the day. That might be it. That's it. Like which counter at your house are here?
Starting point is 01:00:09 No, we don't. Okay. But my wife again. No, no, no. My wife had cooked a couple hours earlier and there was just a piece of random little piece of cheese on the counter
Starting point is 01:00:21 and I was like, well I know she cooked with it so I just grabbed it and ate it. I mean... And I remember there being like some like, I don't know, like green stuff on it? Not really great, the texture's different. I don't feel like that would do it, but maybe. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:00:34 If it's, you know, from that day but maybe it was cheese from a few days ago. Thought I was dying. So in your journal, did you write thought I was dying. In my journal, thank you for asking. Yeah, you need to add that.
Starting point is 01:00:46 Because you write what you're feeling after you eat it. Today's May 9th. Yeah, you should write down your theories. I so far don't have anything and write this down. May 9th,
Starting point is 01:00:56 death wasn't random cheese. Question mark. For sure was the devil. Okay, exclamation point. Mm-hmm. Boom.
Starting point is 01:01:08 Got that. I thought I was going to die. My head was hurting so bad. I couldn't even get my body to place where it felt comfortable to lay. It was just like, I was just like playing a twister, just trying to find a spot. And my wife, like, heard me moving around. And I wasn't like being allowed on purpose so she'd wake up and come and take care of
Starting point is 01:01:22 me like a baby. But I was like hitting walls and stuff, like, maybe so she'd hear. But I don't want to be like, wake up. So you just bang on the walls. I mean, I was out of control. My head was hurting. And so she came up and I don't even know what I took. I know she had some Advil.
Starting point is 01:01:39 I had, I don't know. And then finally, she. You hug me, aka me being a little spoon. And I fell asleep like three and a half hours later, hour and a half later, my loan goes off and I came in. Ugh. It's a brutal night. Terrible. But I feel like not sick anymore. I'm just exhausted now from vomiting all night.
Starting point is 01:01:56 And when you can't stop it, when you're like, okay, I'm doing, oh, that sucks. I just feel like when you know it's food related, it's like the best feelings, you know it's going to be over faster. I didn't know that it was, though. Because I had a stomach bug. Yeah. But anyway, I'm here. Look at me. There have been some real fighters. They should make a Disney Plus movie about this. The guy that went to work. Let's just call it. Also, once you're done with this TV or whatever, are you going to stop the? No, I'm healthy.
Starting point is 01:02:22 So are you journaling for data? Like, you're not obsessively trying to just. When do you come up with the result of the data? I don't. I look at it, though. And if I'm like, man, I felt pretty good the last couple days. I can look and see what I've been eating that's made. Yeah, it's all database. Okay. I can get behind that. But this is never going to end? I won't take I won't keep the journal anymore probably I don't know what the show oh sorry that's what I was asking
Starting point is 01:02:44 I don't hate the journal I actually love the journal Why don't you try journaling your feelings? Eh, bah-hambug Rather do food Yeah I got a goal Like not how you feel after food I hear you and I understand everything you're saying I just need accountability
Starting point is 01:02:59 And I have to hold myself accountable And if I don't write everything down Then I can kind of punt on caring about it And be like you can forget stuff on purpose Yeah. And maybe you forget the third bowl of cereal. You know, maybe it's... What is it that you think needs to change about your body to be on TV?
Starting point is 01:03:17 No, because you look... Oh, no, I've already bought clothes in there... No, it's just about 40 in clothes. I already bought the clothes. And some of them don't fit. Okay. So... Too snug?
Starting point is 01:03:25 I already bought the wardrobe. Otherwise, I probably live free. All right, so that was last night. It sucked. And there was a storm going on and Stanley's barking. The whole time it's a storm. He didn't even fix that. He didn't stop that.
Starting point is 01:03:39 storm. And I wanted to show my wife, because I'm not good. For somebody who says words for a living and gets, and has a pretty successful career at saying words, I'm not good at saying words like one on one. And so I woke up this morning, like an hour and a half after I went to sleep, and we had pulled some of the, like the pull furniture cushions off so they didn't blow away in the storm. And so I went and resat them all before I started working on the show because I knew my wife would like that. So hopefully she sees it and goes, oh, that's him saying he's thankful and he loves me. So that's your access service?
Starting point is 01:04:10 Yeah, yeah. I mean, I felt like that. I get that. Yeah. I do that with a kitchen sometimes. I should probably just say it. I know, but. But instead I, and then they don't say anything and you're like, whoa, why that's anything?
Starting point is 01:04:20 Because I should just, I just watch up in the morning. And if it wasn't like brought up and made a huge deal about, like it was New Year's Eve, I would be like, I guess I'm not doing that anymore. Could you imagine if we were waiting for like words for all the things we do? Like, we'd just be like, well, I guess I'm not going to do that anymore because nobody's saying anything. Like, it wouldn't get done. Also, secondly, I tried to call Eddie before I got sick. This isn't annoying for two reasons.
Starting point is 01:04:44 One, I tried to FaceTime him. Cole call, by the way. But I can cold call, call, Eddie. He answered on the toilet sometimes. Sure. Like that, but Cole call, FaceTimed him. I was out. We ordered some, like, wicker furniture.
Starting point is 01:04:56 Who even knew they made wicker furniture anymore? And so it came in a case. He had to take the screws out because it was shipped in the case. So the storm was coming, so I wanted to take the case apart. But I couldn't get the drill bit to stay in the electric drill. That's why you're FaceTime me? Yeah, I needed some. I was sneaking off to it so my wife wouldn't
Starting point is 01:05:11 so she'd think I was manly. I need your job. So I ended up calling her buddy Steve and he was like, just screw it tighter. And I was like, oh, that's it? He goes, yeah, just took the drill a bit in there and then screw the whole electric drill tighter. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:22 Couldn't get Eddie to answer. Sorry, it is my wife's birthday. We're doing, the whole series of things. Eddie was doing the dishes for her. Yeah, well, now why. Not her birthday. Doesn't think I'm that manly. I know, sorry.
Starting point is 01:05:33 That's the thing that convinced her that I'm not that manly. Well, you know, there's storms again today, so just heads up on the cushions. Like, uh-oh, really? None of our kids are in school. Mine aren't. No, mine aren't either. Kids are out of school. I put the cushions back out. You put the cushions back and now I'm worried about. You're an idiot. Yeah. Well, it says
Starting point is 01:05:52 35%. Well, why would they cancel school? It's got to be something. Recautting was mine. Um, yeah, I don't really see a lot of rain here. So I'm, I'm, I'm cushion strong. Hashty cushion strong. Okay. You can have opinions. You can have like a strong stance. And then there's your body having its own program. I'm Dr. Maya Shunker, a cognitive scientist and host of the podcast, a slight change of plans, a show about who we are and who we become when life makes other plans. We share stories and scientific insights to help us all better navigate these periods of turbulence and transformation. There is one finding that is consistent, and that is that our resilience rests on our
Starting point is 01:06:39 relationships. This month, hear from top streamer Zoe Spencer and venture capitalist Lakeisha Landrum-Pierre, as they share their journeys from starting out to leveling up. If I'm outside with my parents and they're seeing all these people come up to me for pictures,
Starting point is 01:07:28 it's like, what? Today now, obviously, it's like 100%. They believe everything. But at first, it was just like, you got to go get a real job. There's an economic component to community stress. If there's not enough money and entrepreneurship happening in communities, they fail. And what I mean by fail is they don't have money to pay for food. They cannot feed their kids.
Starting point is 01:07:48 They do not have homes. Communities don't work unless there's money flowing through them. Listen to Eating While Broke from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 01:08:20 I don't know. You mean it to like the president? You think Canada has a president. You think China has a president. The law crusade. God, I love that thing. I use it all the time. I wrap it in a blanket and sing to it at night.
Starting point is 01:08:37 It's like the old Polish saying, not my monkeys, not my circus. Yep. It was a good one. I like that snake. It is an actual Polish saying. It is an actual Polish thing. Better version of Play Stupid Games, win Stupid prizes. Yes. Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift, who said that for the first time. I actually thought it was. I got that wrong.
Starting point is 01:08:54 Listen to the Nick Dick and Poll show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. A little late, but let's do the news. Bobby's Big. Stories. Who turned 26? I don't know. Can you think about it? No, that's 26. I've done all these crazy amazing things.
Starting point is 01:09:14 I know. How old is Beaver? Who? Deber. 30 something. Okay, I thought maybe he's 26. Mr. Beast is only 26. No way.
Starting point is 01:09:22 Dang. And for his 26th birthday, he gave away 26 Teslas. In my mind, he's like... 40. Yeah, I don't even know really what he looks like, but I picture him being an older man. Good for that guy, man. Like, he's really built. A mega empire.
Starting point is 01:09:38 He's 26 years old. That's crazy. Mr. Beast. is celebrating his 26th birthday. The facial hair is what makes him look older. He has a beard. Yeah, beard and mustache and not really, it's not a goatee, but it doesn't grow all the way on the top,
Starting point is 01:09:52 but he just looks older. But he gave away 26 Teslas. He has 256 million subscribers on YouTube, a net worth of $500 million, Mr. Beast, but he also doesn't look like a beast. He looks like a nice guy. Mr. Beast should almost look like. The Beast.
Starting point is 01:10:08 Yeah. Beauty and the Beast. It's the only beast I got right here. And there are any other than names of the beast? Yeah. His name's Jimmy Donaldson. Mike, how old was Mr. Beast when he started doing content? He had to be a teenager, right? Yeah, probably like 16, 17.
Starting point is 01:10:23 It's wild. The guy just did it. Happy birthday. Mr. Beast, live minute. He gave away 26 Tesla. For his birthday. You can still try to win him right now. You can.
Starting point is 01:10:32 You go comment on his Instagram post and you get entered in. Did you enter? Oh, yeah. That'd be crazy if you won a Tesla. It's crazy he's giving away Tesla. From Mr. Bees. The office will have a spinoff. And you know what?
Starting point is 01:10:42 I bet it's going to be really good. The problem is people are going to compare it to the other office. It has nothing really in common with the other office. Peacock's office spinoff will take place at a Midwestern newspaper. And so some people from other shows, some Harry Potter show and some I never watched the White Lotus. I don't know if that is. Oh yeah, that's the hotel. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:02 So some people from that show are in it. But it's at a newspaper that's kind of failing. And it'll be funny itself, but people are going to go, but it's not the real office. It's not trying to be the real office. And when the real office was on, it wasn't as popular as it is now. And there's been years and years and years to romanticize. I love The Office. My favorite show ever.
Starting point is 01:11:20 But I just hope people give this a chance. But they did name it the Office. So it's a spinoff, but not in the sense of like it's part of the same story or same characters are in that? It doesn't say if any of the Office characters will make an appearance. So is that spinoff? Probably because they're just saying it's the Office. I wish they would take like somebody, like one of the young. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:43 Make them like the head. But then people would compare it too much to the other one. Like if Toby shows up. But Toby would be old. Yeah, if he shows up, that would be good. No Swiss Army knife knife. They're making a new Swiss Army knife, but there'll be no blade in it. So it has all the tools, but just nothing dangerous?
Starting point is 01:11:59 I'm sure people will get offended and outraged by this who don't even care about Swiss Army knives. This is one of the things where people get on the, can you believe they're taking the knife? Do you even have a Swiss Army? No, no, no. But this will be one of those fake outrage things that people get upset about. But a Swiss Army knife has a blade and like a corkscrew. Scissors. Like a skeleton key.
Starting point is 01:12:21 A bottle opener. But they're going to make a new one a little more updated but with no knife in it. And that is from Victor Inox, maker of the Swiss Army knife. An Indiana teen, 15, is set to become the youngest college graduate in the state's history. A 15-year-old student in Indiana will become the youngest ever to get his bachelor's degree in general studies from Indiana University, which is super cool. It's these kind of kids that either become really great gamers and make tons of money doing that
Starting point is 01:12:50 or have cures for cancer or invent reasons. Because they're way ahead. And they use that way ahead to, like, say ahead and do fun stuff or, like, save the world. Could any of them burn out, though? Because they went so hard so early. A lot of burnout, though, for the most part, is when parents push kids. athletically burnout is mostly when parents push kids. I've seen that.
Starting point is 01:13:12 If somebody's naturally awesome and school comes easy to them, then people don't really burn out unless they push themselves too hard. It just depends how easy school was for the kid. Which I bet if you're 15, it comes pretty easy. Oh, yeah, I'm sure this first, yes, this kid is naturally gifted, but did they have a chance to just be a kid? I'd rather do that. I'd rather be a kid while being super smart.
Starting point is 01:13:33 I don't know, man. Did you say he's 15 and going to college or 15 in graduating college? So that means he started college. That's crazy, dude. I'm sure he finished it fast. So let's just say he started at 13. Yeah. New York Post, that's awesome.
Starting point is 01:13:46 That's the best being a kid ever. Is it, though? No. You're crazy. Yeah, it's amazing. I would love that. He's in his Indiana University hoodie, taking a graduation picture at 15.
Starting point is 01:13:58 That's amazing. That's a coolest kid I've ever seen. I just... Him won Mr. Beast, too, in that order. Passengers erupt in a chaotic mid-flight brawl after one attempt to steal the other seat on an airplane you can't steal somebody seat on an airplane
Starting point is 01:14:13 but yeah we're going to California one passenger stole the other seat and hey that's my seat no it's not bam bam bam and they start rolling there's nowhere to even fight
Starting point is 01:14:24 on an airplane that's what I'm saying there's nowhere to fight it's like fighting in a phone booth right it's not a good place to fight and you know somebody's going to jump in and you're going to take some shots from people who are just trying to stop the fight
Starting point is 01:14:32 yep or you're going to get an armrest in your junk then you get taped to the seat That's from the New York Post. An ex-Mayo Clinic doctor allegedly told Bumble matches. This is the doctor that was poisoning his wife.
Starting point is 01:14:47 No, his wife was poisoning him. Oh, yeah, yeah. The coffee, yeah, clean of the bleach or something. The Mayo Clinic doctor. No, no, he poisoned his wife. There are too many of these stories. Oh, he poisoned his wife. The former Mayo Clinic doctor
Starting point is 01:14:57 accused of fatally poisoning his wife after their open marriage failed to have referred to himself as a widower on a dating app. So he was on Bumble, just talking and being like this I'm still with but they were just like tracking all of his bumble how they get into his bumble so he's on bumble not good is an open marriage guy he was on bumble and he told bumble matches he was a widower before she died oh that's okay that's crazy he is because
Starting point is 01:15:25 he premeditated he knew he was going to offer and remember he's a poison specialist that's all coming back to me oh boy so he knew how to do it and he would give them different stories how they get his password Does everybody do hard password now and just accept that? And it logs in? No. I never accept the hard one. Oh, I do all the time now. I don't remember any of them.
Starting point is 01:15:43 I'm not going to remember that crap. J.J.22.99.9. Bro, if you're like murder of people, your password's got to be stronger. Didn't we learn that already? Or maybe don't murder people. Start there. Yeah, but then have good passwords. Amazon's going to make it easier for you to buy stuff while you're watching Prime Video.
Starting point is 01:16:00 Oh, great. Much easier. We need. Yeah, I was curious about this. Like, so if you're watching something and you like, get on there? Is there going to be just a little link and you boop. Shopable carousel ads will be popping up. Oh, boy. During Prime Video commercial breaks,
Starting point is 01:16:13 because if you don't pay for the version of that commercials, you get the commercials, but they're going to allow you, what would be really cool is if they gave you commercials of things you like for your life. Sure. Because then I would request the commercials. I wonder if that's easy, like to do technological wise. I mean, the fact
Starting point is 01:16:29 you can do Apple pay, built on any site. Yeah. Just go They should do customizing. It's so easy. commercials on TV. Yeah. I'm sure they will eventually. But Hollywood Reporter with that story, they'll even do like trivia. And that's fun.
Starting point is 01:16:42 That is fun. Like interactive trivia? Can we compete with everyone around the world? I wish we were like a bar. You could go in and you do and you see like Johnny Ells in first place. I love those. I do that at Olive Garden, man. Although I think sometimes they're fake people.
Starting point is 01:16:56 No, there's no chance. Because I score mid. You know why that's not true? Why? Because sometimes we get two for our table and I can see my son on there. Yeah, but I think they're probably in the same room or the same one. You don't think Tina in Illinois is like really... I don't know, man.
Starting point is 01:17:10 I wonder about that. ABC's bringing back Extreme Home Makeover. Move that bus. That's a good show. Yeah. Back in the day. Ty Pennington was the guy, right? Back in the day.
Starting point is 01:17:21 I mean, he was pretty ripped up, dude, right? Didn't he do? Yes, absolutely. That's what I remember of him. Tann and tone. His muscles. So, yeah, it's coming back and they're going to move that bus. And it's going to be a super positive show on ABC.
Starting point is 01:17:34 Yeah, Clea and Joanne. from the home edit or of heartland now. They're hosting it? Yeah. They're hosting it? Yes. Are you breaking news you shouldn't break? No, it's been announced. They were posting out on social media.
Starting point is 01:17:45 We broke news, nobody knew. Now, let's take it. Run with it. Breaking news. Wow. Oh, but that's... Good job, Amy. So exciting for them.
Starting point is 01:17:53 That is really cool. That is really cool. Mm-hmm. Disney Plus will stream Caitlin Clark's first regular season WMBA game. Cool. That's really cool, too. On May 14th,
Starting point is 01:18:02 Caitlin Clark's Indiana fever will face off against the Connecticut's and it will stream on Disney Plus and be available on ESPN Plus and ESPN2. Hollywood Reporter. She changed the WMBA to make people care. She changed women's college basketball to make people care. It's not even just about the WNBA. Every once in a while there's a player in a sport that is a bit transcendent.
Starting point is 01:18:24 I mean, in basketball, there's like five ever. She's one, the biggest I've ever seen in my lifetime for women's basketball, where I would appointment watch women's college basketball. mostly because she would shoot from forever. And you just didn't see people pull up like that. So that's pretty cool. I got a couple of Ricky cards. Of her.
Starting point is 01:18:42 Yeah. Yeah. Was it a drunk middle school teaching assistants arrested after a student drank her drink thinking it was Mountain Dew, but it was vodka. Oh, I saw that. So sad. So sad. But what was the student doing drinking her? Mountain Dew. Same, bro.
Starting point is 01:19:07 Like, I thought about that. I don't understand that part. I don't know. I don't know anything other than what I read. Maybe the student knew what was up. Let me try a little bit of that. The student threw out the drink and alerted another teacher who brought the matter of the principal's office. What can a student just grab the teacher to Mountain Dew and starts drinking?
Starting point is 01:19:20 Very strange. If you want, like maybe, I don't know, the kid isn't allowed to have Mountain Dew and kids love that stuff. Or like when I would drink my dad's Coke. Yeah, yeah, middle school. Because we called a junior high. Yeah. Seven eighth grade. Like I would go take a sip of my dad's Coke sometimes.
Starting point is 01:19:35 be like, okay, that is a, like... How old were you? That's your dad, though. Brown Royal there. I don't remember exactly how old it was. It would happen. I don't know to be grabbing your teacher's Mountain Dew because you can't get any Mountain Dew at home. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:19:46 I don't think the kid knew that there was alcohol. Why would he have said something? You know, you just keep drinking it. Okay, but let's say that's the case. Why would you drink your teacher's Mountain Dew? Kids like Mountain Dew. Go get your own kids. All right.
Starting point is 01:20:00 And finally, should you take a walk after you eat? It helps digestion, apparently. They're called fart walks. Huh? Excuse me? Hmm? Like, they're called fart walks. Ew, don't make that noise.
Starting point is 01:20:11 What? That's a fart walk. No secret that walking is great, generally, but after you eat, it helps you digest food. The benefits of walking after you eat, it helps regulate blood sugar. Move in spikes or crashes in blood sugar levels. Reduces stress. Deblooding. Promotes relaxation, which in turn can improve digestion.
Starting point is 01:20:29 So get you a fart walk. Do you guys do walks at all? I do. I do. No, no. like outside. Yes. Or where I go?
Starting point is 01:20:36 I don't know. Where am I going? The backyard, walk around. Look at the trees. That's why I got a car. It's okay. So you don't walk around. So I got a car.
Starting point is 01:20:44 That's why I sit on the back porch. Yeah, I know. My wife didn't want to do like, hey, let's go for a walk. And we're all like, we're good. We'll walk to dogs occasionally. But I never just go for a walk for the sake of walking.
Starting point is 01:20:53 That's from Yahoo. That's the news. Those were Bobby's B. Stories. Let's go over talk to Ashley. Ashley, you're on the Bobby Bone show. What's up? Hey, Bobby, how we have gone?
Starting point is 01:21:06 Pretty good. Okay, I was just calling. I was telling Morgan to let you know you're having migraines. That's what's making you sick. I've never had a migraine before. Does that mean I will have another migraine? If you have one... You could possibly be it.
Starting point is 01:21:21 But if you have one, then do you have them forever? Is it like a disease? No, because I've only had a few in my entire life. But when I've had them, I've known. And the first time I ever got one was in college. So they're years and years and years apart. But they can make you throw up. But I sort of feeling like a little queasy.
Starting point is 01:21:35 And then I woke up And then my head was hurting But then I started throwing up And it just got so bad Again it felt like Someone was boxing inside my skull It hurt so bad My body couldn't even get to a place
Starting point is 01:21:45 Where I laying down was comfortable And I was like fetal And I was going It hurts I don't know why my wife woke up I don't know I wonder why She did wake up and take care of me
Starting point is 01:21:55 And I was like I don't want to wake her up It hurts So Ashley do you have migraines I do So what can I do To make sure I don't get another one.
Starting point is 01:22:07 Well, you have to probably get on medicine. No, not that. The feeling, your body's giving you a trigger before. That's how you are feeling. It's not right. So do you maybe prescribe more video games at the house?
Starting point is 01:22:24 Probably. That's what they recommend for migraines. Buy more baseball football cards. Got it. Okay. I hope that was not a sign of things to come. Had a pretty brutal night last night, but I'm good. I have not either. I have some friends that have chronic migraines, and it's debilitating.
Starting point is 01:22:40 I'm not assigning myself that for the record. Oh, right. I know. I just had a bad one. Right. One, one. Okay. Let's go over to Kim.
Starting point is 01:22:49 Let's get on the migraine talk real quick. Kim, welcome to the Migraine Minute. Good morning. Good morning. Morning. So, yeah, I agree with Ashley. Definitely a migraine. But what could have triggered yours is the change in the barometric pressure.
Starting point is 01:23:05 What about the cheese I ate from the counter? No, definitely not the cheese. So because there was a storm coming in, like big thunderstorms, maybe tornado. Tornado did not hit, did not happen here. But they were saying possibly tornado. That can make my head hurt like that. It was the worst headache ever had in my whole life. Again, I'm surprised they haven't made a Disney movie about it already that I came to work today.
Starting point is 01:23:25 Yes. Yes, I'm going to tell you. So I live in Florida and you know we have rainy season. And believe me when I tell you, I can tell a storm is coming hours before it comes. me too I use my app I like at the radar on the matter
Starting point is 01:23:40 sure yeah I'd rather have that though than the headache thing that's not a fun trick I can tell a storm is coming thank you for sharing that I was a rough night
Starting point is 01:23:47 but I'm here I'm good I'm living life I'm a little exhausted but I plan on living today like no other day good man you ever get so sick
Starting point is 01:23:54 or you get sick at all or sometimes when you have a cold and you're like I'm gonna value every minute I feel good that's what I was doing last I was so sick
Starting point is 01:24:02 and I was like I take for granted whenever I feel good I'm never doing that again the next time I feel normal and be like praise oh I feel so good and then I finally felt good and I forgot to do that. That happens. Sometimes when I get a real stuffy nose, I'm like, I really take for granted those times my
Starting point is 01:24:18 nose isn't stuffed. You have that conversation? For sure. That's how I felt last night. I was like, just get me through this. And I'll say thank you every day for feeling good. Then I started to feel a little better physically and I just forgot to say. That's like when you have a hangover, you're like, I'm never drinking again.
Starting point is 01:24:33 Oh, yeah. Weekend comes around, you're drinking again. Do you ever do, like, deal to God, and then, like, if you just get me out of this situation, and then it happens, and you're like, ah, I never go that far. You did. No, me either. Bobby Bones show. Boney up the day.
Starting point is 01:24:51 This story comes us from St. Louis, Missouri. An 18-year-old man was out on probation, has a little ankle monitor, besides to go breaking some cars. And how did they catch him when he went to go check in with parole? officer, hey, let me see where you been. Hey, we had a lot of car break-ins in that area. Your ankle monitor's there. That's how they tied them to the crime. Wow. Are those things as accurate like as our Find My iPhone? Or are they more accurate? I wondered the same thing. I guess if, because the phone, even if they're tracking your cell phone, it's not with 100% accuracy.
Starting point is 01:25:25 No, no, no, no. It pains in between the towers. And you can be like hanging out like in your bed and it'll move. You can see it like moving. I'm not moving. Why are you watching yourself in your own bed. No, no, like, you ever done that? You ever see, like, where's my phone? Not in my bed, no. It's probably, like, whatever this, that Life 360 app stuff is, because, I mean, I can watch my children, like, walk around the house with their phone.
Starting point is 01:25:44 Oh. Yeah, I'm sure this is a GPS-based thing. It seems. The ankle monitor. But, hey, your bedtime routine is kind of weird, Eddie. That's sometimes, like, where's my phone? Oh, it's in my hand. No, Eddie's like, where am I?
Starting point is 01:25:55 I'm in the bed. Why am I moving? I'm not moving. But the dots is I'm in the middle of the street. Okay. I'm Lunchbox. That's your Bonehead Story of the day. We did a draft earlier this week on nicknames for money,
Starting point is 01:26:07 and I predicted that Eddie would finish way, way, way last. And? He did not finish last. What? Matter of fact. What? Jingle, Jingle, Jingle, Kazash. Kazash was the one I thought would sinker.
Starting point is 01:26:19 Hey, you definitely didn't finish last. Wow. Oh. Yeah. Now I'm nervous. So everybody had their own versions of nicknames for money. Ramundo had bag and loot and G's. Eddie had bucks.
Starting point is 01:26:34 Jingle, Kazash, lunchbox had dough, mullah, bread. I had cash, cheese, De Niro, Amy had cheddar, paper, Benjamin's. Eddie did not finish the last place.
Starting point is 01:26:49 Where did I finish? I'll tell you. And last place and not returning next week is Ramundo. Yeah! I don't know. It's not a good thing. Last place,
Starting point is 01:26:59 5% with bag, lute, and g's. Eddie, you didn't even finish a fourth place. Wow! This is crazy! You guys are dogging my picks. No, just Kazash.
Starting point is 01:27:12 Because Ash and Jingle. Jingle a little. But even Dirk's things... Got jingle in my pocket. There's something like that. Something like that. Oh, he's talking about money? He's talking about keys.
Starting point is 01:27:22 In fourth place. Oh, maybe. Me with cash, cheese, and denierro. Oh, no. I think what got you, Bones, I'm not going to. win that one. Well, I think it's De Niro, not Robert De Niro. Oh, I think about that. I think that's what got you on that one.
Starting point is 01:27:39 I didn't know. I thought it was De Niro. No, man. Put him up, huh? Am I funny? Am I a clown? Okay. Number three. Amy. Okay, I'll take it. Cheddar, paper, and Benjamin's. So the number one is either going to be Eddie with Bucks, jingle, and Kazash. This is going to be crazy. Or lunchbox with dough, mula, and bread.
Starting point is 01:28:05 Lunchboxes are better than yours. A lot of pastries. His are better than yours. So, at number two. Eddie. You did get number two. Lunchbox won this one. The cold streak is over for lunchbox.
Starting point is 01:28:21 He gets a victory. Ramundo, you're out. Morgan, you're back in next week. And that's the draft there. He's got the belt on. We'll see you guys tomorrow. Goodbye, everybody. Mr. Bobby Bones.
