What's up? Welcome to Thursday show. Morning studio.
All right, let's go around the room and check in with everybody. He picked lunch,
Box's mom in the sexiest celebs over 65 draft.
Lunchbox didn't think it was funny, but we all laughed.
Here he is, Eddie.
Guys, I was driving into work this morning just a few minutes ago,
and I almost saw a bad accident happen.
There's a car trying to change lanes,
didn't know that there was another car next to him.
Oh, they swore back to correct their mistake.
Oh, the correction.
Oh, my goodness, man.
Whoever that person is, almost died.
Oh, no.
Is it somebody on the show?
Oh, my gosh.
So I exit, and that car exits too.
Oh, no.
And I go to work, turn into my garage.
Oh my gosh.
And that car does too.
Oh, no.
It was Amy.
Listen.
Guys, we almost lost Amy today.
Was she the one that almost hit the car?
Absolutely.
What?
I did not.
Eddie, you had me.
You six cents me on that one.
We started, I didn't know where it was going.
I thought you just saw an accident.
And then all of a sudden you saw dead people.
Right.
It was Amy.
And now I feel like a lunchbox feels or vice versa, they both do it to each other because they exaggerate everything for content.
Excuse me.
Listen, what do you think happened?
I know what happened.
First of all, I'm in my daughter's car, so it's a different viewpoint.
But that doesn't even matter if I...
You made an excuse to start the story about a viewpoint.
Well, because I'm like, but that also wouldn't even matter.
I'm saying that's how also Eddie didn't realize it was me until we got into the garage.
But this, the car in the lane that I was getting over to to exit came speeding up.
The car was not there.
If the car was going the speed limit, I could have gotten over.
No problem.
What I had to do was save my life and react and get back into my lane because Mr.
I'm in a hurry was speeding in his lane.
I mean, that's exactly what happened.
And I was like, I knew.
I saw Eddie in my review mirror.
And that's why right when we got here, we pulled in the garage.
And I'm like, Eddie, don't even start me right now.
And I said, save it.
Save it, Amy.
I don't want to talk to you right now.
Yes.
And I said, don't even.
You know that car was going way too fast.
I'm in my daughter's car, not that that would matter at all.
Different viewpoint.
Absolutely.
You know that still would have been your fault though, even if there are speeding.
How?
I mean, it wasn't my fault.
There was no accident.
You would have hit them.
Oh, but Amy swerved so hard.
Because she was doing the gradual, I'm going to change lanes and saw the car.
No.
Overcorrected.
That's because also, also, the steering wheel in my daughter's car is different than mine.
Of course.
There's a lot of excuses here for somebody who did nothing wrong.
It's not an excuse.
I didn't do anything wrong.
There was no accident.
There was no accident.
I saved my life from the person who was breaking the law.
I can't prove that.
I can. I can. I can prove it. Whatever. I had to pull up in here.
How would you prove it then?
I'm sure there's cameras somewhere.
All right. Thank you, Eddie.
Amy, thank you. You be safe, okay?
Yeah.
Check all viewpoints before you leave the house, please.
Hey, I was safe. Saved alive today.
Your own.
What?
And theirs.
Yeah. He was at a slot machine in North Dakota when he won a bunch of money.
And some listeners do, but some don't.
don't find them very funny. Lunchbox.
Well, I got to confess, I almost pulled a name you guys.
I almost wrecked my vehicle.
Oh, my gosh.
I almost wrecked my vehicle.
I mean, I've been riding my bike for a couple months now,
and sometimes I'll drop my backpack off at home and go for a ride.
I get like 10, 12, 15 miles in.
And there's some trails, like pedestrian trails.
They're paved.
I'll say, I'm going to go ride those.
I've never done that before.
And I'm hauling, hauling.
And I come around a curve and I'm like, oh, I'm going too fast.
And as I come around the curve, there's two people jogging the opposite direction, guy and girl.
And the guy jumps off into the grass.
The girl jumps the other side of the path.
And I go flying through them.
And I'm like, oh my gosh, I almost hit them.
I almost hit them.
And then I checked Instagram later.
And this lady DM me and goes, hey, were you riding your bike on these?
And then she named the trails.
I was like, delete.
I ignored.
I was like, oh my gosh.
I almost took their life because I was going so fast on my bike.
It was so scary.
I was like, sorry about that.
You guys got to be careful.
Yeah, they were out for a nice little jog.
And I mean, luckily they were looking up and they jumped out of the way because I was smoking it.
You too.
And it wasn't my kid's bike.
How was your viewpoint?
I was going to say, I can't blame it on the viewpoint.
Steering.
Steering was same as it always is.
Steering is a thing, but good thing I was able to.
Overcorrect.
No, overcorrecting would be a problem, right?
Like, I was able to manage the vehicle.
I'm moving on.
She recently spoiled the TV show suits,
and we may see her on the next season of her sister's show,
Building Roots.
Here's Amy.
It gets the words.
TVD.
Okay, so I order my groceries on Instacart
because that saves me so much time.
I highly recommend it.
I go pick it up, though.
You don't pay anything extra.
If anything, you save money
because you're not distracted by other things at the store
that are not on your grocery list.
So I've been a big fan of it lately,
and I go and I pull into my little stall,
I text the part on the app that's like, I'm here.
And then I pull it up and they're like, oh, your order is complete.
It was completed 30 minutes ago.
My order's complete.
I have not picked up my groceries.
So within the app, I start texting with customer service.
And they're like, oh, wow, okay, well, we'll refund your money.
No problem.
And I'm like, well, how do they know that I'm not the one that picked up the grocery?
Like, how do they know that this is, that I'm not scamming them?
So two tiered, one, that somebody got your groceries.
I don't know, yeah, I don't know where my groceries are.
Even accidentally or on purpose.
And then two, you could actually scam them back if you wanted to.
Yeah, because they gave me my money back in a like just like that.
And then I had to go.
I said, can you just like do my order again?
And they were like, no.
So then I had to go back through and click everything from my previous order.
And then I was able to pick it up.
And then a third part of this is the Instacart,
to people that bring out your delivery to your car,
because you wait and they bring it out and they load it.
for you. It's amazing.
Every time I try to tip them and they're like,
we're not allowed to take tips. I keep waiting to
find the one person that's going to break the rule.
But so far, no,
I'll be like, good for you. You deserve this.
But every time, no, ma'am,
we're not allowed to take tips.
No, ma'am, we're not allowed to take tips.
But I highly recommend it. But yeah,
someone ended up with my groceries. I hope they
enjoyed them. Probably that car that's flying by you, trying to get
out of town. We got groceries. Go, go, go, go.
Same guy.
Yeah, but refund was way too easy.
Now she's like getting excited
I'm doing it again.
No, I'm not going to do it again.
I would never, but you know people are
abusing that.
Maybe they just learn how to abuse it right now with you.
Well, that's on them.
That's on you guys.
All right, Ray, go ahead.
From Mount Pine, Arkansas.
His desk has a lot of memorabilia on it.
He's just missing a catcher's mitt.
Bobby Bones.
That was weird.
On it.
On it.
Catchers mitt.
Kind of.
Okay.
He's got a lot of.
His desk has a lot of.
lot on it and just wait.
He's going to move on. I'm a big
cut your losses guy. Just move on.
Like, cut and go.
So, I was in therapy yesterday. I had this
crazy allergy thing happening. I don't
cry in therapy. I wish I could. I've often said I wish I could
cry more. But I was in therapy
yesterday and I was talking my allergies.
Yeah, your throat gets kind of like that
phlegm in it. And so I'm talking
and I'm going to get this flim out. They're like this. And I couldn't get it
out. I'm like, I'm trying to talk.
My therapist is like,
I think it's great that you now can cry in here.
And I'm like, I'm not crying.
I'm so cute.
I'm like, it's okay.
There's no reason for you to be like embarrassed about crying.
And I'm like, I wouldn't be, but I just can't get it out of my throat.
That's like a Seinfeld.
It was so stupid.
And their head, they're like, yes.
And then I'm like, I don't know why I just had the need to be like, I wasn't crying.
Like I had to prove, look, allergies.
That was my day yesterday?
What were you guys talking about?
Was it something really sad?
Yeah, it's probably like how all my friends are fake.
I'm just kidding
It's not that.
It wasn't.
Oh, coincidence.
I'm kidding.
I'm kidding.
That's not it.
Let's open up the mailbag.
You send an email and we read it all the air.
It's something we call Bobby's Mailbag.
Hello, Bobby Bones.
I love my younger brother, but he's 25.
Unemployed and still living with my parents.
We try to be supportive, but he just won't go out and try to improve his life.
And I'm starting to see that it's affecting all.
parents. They are both retired and they cannot afford to be supporting their adult children,
but they refuse to stand up to my brother. How can I help them and maybe also help him get his
life together? Signed. Concerned sister. All right, you got a loser brother taking advantage
your parents. That's going to be a tough one. You're doing the two sets of people you love.
There's only two ways to do it. One, you leave it alone or two, you go at it directly. There's really
not a halfway burner account type way to handle this.
if you go and talk to your parents and you say,
hey, he's doing this, they're going to say,
oh, that's Charlie.
You know, we're just giving them some time.
I wouldn't address it with the parents.
I would address it with the brother and say,
hey, look, you're being a loser right now.
It's not because you're unemployed.
It's because you're not trying.
Because people are unemployed all the time.
It doesn't mean you're a loser.
But if you're unemployed and you're not trying,
you're taking advantage of people that are setting you up,
like your parents, yeah, that's when you become a loser.
So you need to have a talk with him and see what he says.
And if he's like, I don't care, I'm just going to do it.
Then you go talk to the parents.
But this is one of those.
You got to go right to the source.
It's your brother.
Yeah, you care about him.
It's sort of like a little...
You care about your parents more than your brother, though.
It gets a mini intervention of sorts for like, we got to get your life together.
I'm here to support you.
But then if he doesn't want to hear you at that point and you go to them and they don't want to hear you, you've got to release this.
That's it.
This is not your problem because then your codependent.
and totally involved in a situation when it's not your problem.
They're their choices.
I'm super glad you said that.
Now it is your problem right now.
Because you care.
Yes.
If you care, it's your problem, but you can only care to a point.
Right.
Before, then it's also a problem within you.
And you don't want it to be your problem as well.
Talk to the brother.
Help the brother.
Don't put them on his heels.
Hey, loser.
No.
Don't say that.
No, you be like, hey, what's up?
How's his job search going?
Try him to find a job.
Try to put him in a place where he feels empowered to leave on his own.
And it's a lot of investment, but it is your brother.
And it is your parents.
And you wouldn't do that for really anybody else except for them.
But then if it doesn't work and no one wants to listen to you, you got to just let it go.
Detach.
And that's the hardest thing is to detach.
You'd think it'd be the easiest because it's the least amount of work.
It's the hardest because you love them both.
Sometimes they've got to figure their own crap out for themselves.
Yeah, stuff.
Go to the brother.
Loser.
Plan this.
Loser.
All right.
thank you. Close the mail bag.
We've got your e-mail and we've read it on the air.
Now it's about to close Bobby's mail pack.
If you hear someone mispronounce a word, don't hate on them.
It's because they probably have only read it and not heard it.
And we try to go by that rule here.
Sort of.
But if you mispronounce a word, again, you may have to read it a hundred times and you just don't know how to say it.
For example, Mike D. For a long time, an assay bowl to you.
you was a
Kaibol.
Same though.
When I would see that
I thought it was
like a fruity yogurt bowl
and a kai bowl.
Oh, and it's
asaii?
Yes.
If people have corrected me,
have they corrected you over?
Oh yeah,
all the time.
So I say it right now
but only because I've been
humiliated.
I don't even really know
what asai is.
Is there a fruit?
Berries.
Yeah, so it's a fruit.
It's like dragon fruit.
Forever I thought
that was just like a fake one.
I knew how to pronounce it
but I was like
there ain't no fruit.
They're at their grocery store.
Yeah,
no, I know.
You make me feel dumb originally
No, I mean, no, I'm going to, I'll, trust me, my words are, I still struggle with them.
What about P-O-K-E bowl?
P-O-K-Bokey, P-O-P-P-E, P-O-P-E, P-O-P-E, P-O.
Like, P-E-Mon.
Polk.
So if you see that at, like, a sushi restaurant, a P-O-K-E bowl, you would order a?
I just, I fade out, and I was like, P-O-P-Bol.
You say it real low.
If you were forced to say it, you would say,
Polk?
Eddie?
Pokey bowl, please.
Lunchbox?
Polk.
Because it's a POKE.
It's poke.
Okay.
I think I would say,
because I've been corrected a bunch
and I still may be wrong.
Like a Pokey bowl?
I don't know if that's right.
Mike D, what is,
how do you say P O Pokey?
Yeah, it's a Pokey bowl.
Pokey bowl.
Oh, pokey.
Okay.
Only because I've said it wrong so many times.
Okay.
What word did you mispronounce for the longest time?
And maybe you still do.
Because I got a couple here.
For me, and there's no judgment here.
This is a judgment-free segment.
most of them aren't, by the way.
This is a judgment-free segment.
For me, it would be things like, for a long time,
I would say the state of Illinois wrong.
Illinois?
I would say Illinois's for a long time.
And then people that I know from Illinois
would be like, yo, there's no S.
I'd be like saying your state of Arkansas, Arkansas.
It's spelled like that, Arkansas.
It's not spelled like Arkansas.
So it's Illinois, not Illinois's.
The other one is like the charcutory.
Does I say that right now?
Yeah.
I think so.
You've got it.
Charcutorie.
A charcutory board?
Board.
Where it's just cheese and meats.
I'll take the charcutory, please.
Charcutary.
Nailed it.
Not char, shar, right?
Yeah.
Charcutor.
I don't know to say it.
Yeah.
I struggle with that one too.
I didn't even feel confident trying it right then.
Sure.
Yeah.
What's the word?
I have two.
Go ahead.
I still struggle with them every single time I see them on paper.
So probably in 2006, I was reading some story on the air with y'all.
And that's when y'all told me that I've saying it right.
wrong. When someone releases
themselves on their own.
Recognizance.
I said
recognience. It's a confusing word
to read. And I still remember when
you all correct to me and to this day when I see that word
I get all. Was it not a judgment free zone then
we corrected you? Definitely not a judgment free
today though. Yeah, yeah. At all. And so
I still get nervous when I say it. Same thing with
B-I-O-P-I-C.
Oh, can you use?
Right, right. A movie.
that's about somebody's called a
biopic.
Ah, okay,
biopic.
Right.
But it's a biopic.
And you release yourself on your
own
recognizance.
Reconnocence.
Reconnaissance.
Yeah, reconnaissance.
And then, yeah, the biopic
is a tough one.
Yeah, every time.
I honestly,
because it's biopic.
Yeah, it's a tough one.
So which one is it?
It's not a biopic.
It's a biopic.
Oh, so it is a biopic.
Then I say whatever's wrong, I say biopic.
It looks like biopic, but it's biopic.
Okay, whatever it is I say it wrong or I get, or sometimes I get it, maybe it's 50-50.
So I just avoid it.
I say a movie about themselves.
Both of those are fair misses.
Because I have no judgment.
Eddie?
Man, you guys went hard on me when I was trying to say Toyota, but I say a Toyota.
I've been saying tow Yoda.
Toyota.
Yeah, Toyota.
Like a toe on a foot and then Yoda from Star Wars.
Toyota.
Toyota.
And I actually had like a commercial to read.
and I was like, oh, come get a Toyota today.
And you guys are like, you idiot.
That's not how you said it in the commercial.
I did.
That's funny.
And it's not, it's toy Yoda.
Toy Toyota.
Toyota.
But I blame that on being like Hispanic.
See, like my parents.
Oh, here we go.
Listen, my parents spoke Spanish.
I spoke English.
So I learned a lot of things weird.
I used to call the, what's the candy bar with the peanuts and caramel and, and, and, uh, yeah.
I used to call them sneakers.
Oh, like sneakers bar.
That does sound like a accent.
sneakers?
Yeah, can I have a sneakers bar?
And my wife was like, what are you saying?
A sneakers bar?
Yeah, that's got to be some inflection from your parents.
A sandwich?
I just called a sandwich.
My whole life.
I wonder if that's a mixture of like a Spanglish type thing.
I'm not telling you, man.
I think that's how he would hear them say it if they were saying it in English.
Lunchbox?
It's that word that, like, you go, like, before you do a mission, you got to do some surveillance, but it's...
Investigation?
No, you, reconnaissance.
That's the word.
No.
No.
No.
Recon.
This is different word.
Yes.
Almost the same word.
Oh gosh.
You know what I'm talking about?
Like the one where you reconnaissance.
Do you say that a lot?
I've said it before.
I can news stories is up and I reconnoissance.
I think that's how you say it.
Reconnaissance.
I don't know.
But I know that someone.
But what was your word again?
On your own reconnaissance.
I don't know.
You released yourself from they all I know is whenever I'm reading a new story about how.
Because I was just say recon.
Like whenever I'm reading something,
I'm doing recon.
Do you say that?
If you're reading an article, yeah, you skip over the word.
Recognizance is being, is that the same word?
So there's, okay, there's reconnaissance and recognizance.
Weird.
Mine's with the G because I.
English is just a weird language, man.
Everybody has to learn this bull crap.
Oh, yeah, tell me about it.
My kids.
Another word is ambulance.
Yeah.
I just can't say it.
You've been doing that for years.
I mean, it's not that I don't know what it says.
I just can't say it.
There was a story about, I'm going to substitute whatever the contest was because they don't remember.
But it was like a wet t-shirt contest at a restaurant.
And they had it.
And the winner got a free Toyota.
And so they went through the whole process and this girl won and she was super pumped.
And they gave her a free toy Yoda doll.
And then she sued because she said she was tricked.
Yeah, that's messed up.
No.
Yeah.
Does she win the lawsuit?
So I can give you the actual story.
This is just what I remember here.
How much she got a car?
But a woman was primarily.
promised a Toyota after winning a contest, but was given a toy Yoda, so she sued the company and was given the Toyota.
Wow.
She got her car.
Good.
A woman sued a radio station when the hummer she won in a contest turned out to be the toy.
It was an April Fool's joke.
That's not nice.
Then we could have got sued.
Four?
We said we were giving out free gas.
We did.
We gave out beans.
We gave out cans of beans.
People lined up all around the block.
It was.
But we, it was hilarious.
But there's a difference in that and this and that we didn't get sued.
That's the only difference.
Been sued enough.
What, there was another one for me that I don't say right.
Mostly it's an accent thing.
You guys, oh, I say lawyer, but I think that's right.
Lawyer.
Lawyer.
Lawyer.
But I think it's lawyer.
Oh, it is?
You guys tell me I'm wrong, but I think you're wrong on this one.
I think that's sort of like almond or almonds.
Or penalize.
Yeah, that's penalized, dude.
I think it's just how you say it.
I think you just like saying penalize.
No, I think it's penal, like the penal system.
Oh, really?
Oh.
That's what I think.
Penalized.
Okay, but do you say like the team got a penalty?
No, I say penalty.
But if they're being, oh, I don't know.
I don't know.
It's too early the morning for this crap.
Okay, you know what bothers me sometimes?
I don't really care so much if you do this.
Oh, boy.
Well, she's just one day after the other.
It's something new.
Not for me.
It's just when I hear this word.
Since we're going over it.
No.
But like I say, hey, I'm part of this organization.
If someone goes, organization.
I don't say organization.
I'm not saying someone.
You act like you were attacking me, didn't she?
No, I didn't.
I'm saying, why is.
You know what I don't like you, what you do?
No.
I said, okay, I want y'all to tell me which one's right?
Organization.
Organization, right?
Organization.
Or?
Organization.
I don't think there's wrong, but I think organization is more accepted.
Oh, you know, another one is hard to say.
Defibrillator.
The fibulator.
Defibrillator.
The fibulator.
Defibrillator?
Defibrator.
Defibrator.
February.
So about espresso and espresso.
That's one.
Defebrile.
That's impossible.
Defibrillator.
I'm looking at the sounds like.
Defibrillator.
I know I hear you, but it says, how does it say, Mike?
It said defibrillator.
So every time we say in those, tell me something good, that's one I just try to britt.
I just go, Claire, and everybody knows.
Yes.
It's time for the good news.
Producer Eddie
So this year marks the 50th anniversary of the birth of hip hop
And the Brooklyn Public Library has teamed up with Jay-Z
To come up with these new library cards
And it's awesome
They're like 13 different cards that kind of use the artwork from his albums
And because of this
They have already had 14,000 new library accounts
So dating people just want the card though
They don't ever go back
It's like a collector's.
Well, maybe
Yeah, for sure
Maybe
But I guess even if you get 500 people of the 14,000 that go
That's what I'm saying
And the fact that the library's in the news.
And Jay-Z is making these people want to read more.
I don't know that I'm jumping to that, but I do like, just that we're talking about it.
I mean, the public library, I haven't been since Austin built their new one.
Oh, that's a cool one, though.
It's really cool.
They have the massive chess pieces, the game in the middle.
But, yeah, the public library was, it's tough.
I mean, I only went when, like, in school, when I had, like, research projects to do.
School library or public, like, city library?
That was the public library, but my mom would drop me on.
I would do research there.
But that was like 30 years ago.
That's what I'm saying.
The fact that Jay-Z makes people even want to go and have a library card.
Yes.
When I was in high school, no, junior high,
I would get a riot to get dropped off at the library,
the public library,
and then I would watch old, the film rules of old late-night television shows.
Really?
So is that kind of what gets you sparked and wanting to be in TV?
No, I got sparked to go and watch them.
I was sparked already.
Okay.
I didn't just stumble upon some old TV shows.
I was like, I need to watch Jack,
I need to watch Johnny Carson's old stuff.
Do you ever use those, is it microfish?
Yeah, those things, that was awesome.
That's probably what that was.
There's some version of that.
That's where you can put like a slide
and it shows you an old newspaper.
Right, you scroll up and down.
It looked like that on a black and white screen like that,
but it moved.
I could watch a film strip.
Man, that's kind of like the microfish.
Those are the days.
We got to get back to the library, man.
I used to go to the library in college
and take naps on the couches during classes,
in between classes, like if I had a two-hour break
and didn't want to go home,
those couches in the library, so comfortable.
And it's quiet.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So you just went and took a nap for two hours instead of driving home 15 minutes?
Yeah.
I felt that.
Because, you know, you got to go, find a parking spot, getting your car.
So you waste 30 minutes driving to and from when you get an hour and 45 in at the library.
You could sleep for that long in a library?
Yeah.
I could see fall in a day for 25 minutes max because I would just feel uncomfortable because that ain't my surrounding.
The fact you could sleep for over an hour in a public library.
Yeah, people will be sleeping all over the place.
And everybody like, aren't you worried about people looking at you?
Heck no, I'm asleep, man.
Who cares?
And you know lunchbox is snoring.
the whole time.
What about a blanket?
Didn't have a blanket.
I was just chilling.
Wear pants.
You're good.
Sweat shirt.
Lay down, go to sleep.
Yeah, I need a blanket for any nap over 30 minutes.
Because then I wake up.
I just fall asleep and I can fall asleep and I can stay asleep for a few minutes.
But I need a blanket to stay asleep.
Even if it's hot.
Yeah.
It's a comfort thing.
Yeah, I just need to feel protected.
Yeah.
You little blankie.
All right.
Good story, though, Eddie.
Thank you.
That is what it's all about.
That was Tell Me Something Good.
A win is a win.
A win is a win.

There's two golden rules
that any man should live by.
Rule one, never mess with a country girl.
You play stupid games,
you get stupid prizes.
And rule two, never mess with her friends either.
We always say that
trust your girlfriends.
I'm Anna Sinfield.
And in this new season of the girlfriends,
oh my God, this is the same man.
A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist.
I felt like I got hit by a truck.
I thought, how could this happen to me?
The cops didn't seem to care.
So they take matters into their own hands.
I said, oh, hell no.
I vowed. I will be his last target.
He's going to get what he deserves.
Listen to the girlfriends.
Trust me, babe.
On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
I'm Igor, my next.
guest, you know from Step Brothers Anchorman, Saturday Night Live, and the Big Money Players Network.
It's Will Ferrell.
Woo, woo, woo, woo.
My dad gave me the best advice ever.
I went and had lunch with them one day, and I was like, and dad, I think I want to really give
this a shot.
I don't know what that means, but I just know the groundlings.
I'm working my way up through, and I know it's a place they come look for up and coming
talent.
He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you, which is really,
really sweet. He goes, but there's so much luck involved. And he's like, just give it a shot.
He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it
doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit. If you saw it written down, it would not be an
inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat, just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be.
Right, it wouldn't be that. There's a lot of luck. Yeah. Listen to thanks, Dad, on the IHeart
app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.
On the phone, we got Wesley.
We're about to play a music game here.
Wesley, how you doing, buddy?
I'm doing, how about you?
Doing pretty good.
Wesley, if you pick the correct player,
you will win yourself a $50 Sonic gift card.
We're going to play the Bobby sings it wrong game.
These songs are so easy that if I sang it right, you would get it.
For example, if I sang the song right, I would go,
Okay.
Maybe all I got is beat up leather bag.
Yeah.
And you would know that.
Carrying your love with me.
What if I said?
Baby all I got.
All I got.
Just beat up leather bag.
I got it.
Carrying your love with you.
No, you already knew the answer.
Oh, good.
I'm going to be good at this game.
Okay, Wesley, do you want Amy, lunchboxer
Eddie to play for you?
I nailed that one.
The spread is lunchbox plus two.
If you pick lunchbox, you get two extra points.
Wow.
That doesn't matter, Wesley.
Fast.
Okay, well, I want lunchbox then.
I want those two extra points.
Yeah, two nothing, Wesley, let's go.
That's going to come.
Come back and bite you. Lunchbox plus two, Amy plus one. Eddie, you're even.
All right. Let's go, Wesley.
We're now handicapped on our odds now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, boy.
Here we go. All right. We will do five of these.
I hear the train are coming. It's rolling round the bend.
It's a very famous song and I'm singing a wrong.
I'm in.
I hear the train are coming.
It's rolling round the ball.
What, he's singing it, Amy.
I know.
I know.
I know.
Five seconds.
I like your version better.
Thank you.
Time.
Lunchbox.
Folsom County Prison.
Amy.
Falsome Prison Blues.
Eddie.
Folsom Prison Blues.
Correct.
Lunchbox, you do not get a point.
But you were close.
Amy, you do get a point.
Nice job.
I couldn't decide between Folsom County Prison or Fursome County
blues. Well, he decided wrong.
So I think Eddie
has one, lunchbox has two,
Amy has two. So what was the answer?
Folsom Prison Blues.
Oh, so it wouldn't even, that county was wrong.
Right, next up, here we go.
I spent last night
in the arms of a girl in Louisiana.
I spent last night
in the arms of a girl in Louisiana.
I'm in.
I'm singing it wrong.
I'm in.
Boy, I'm in for the win, guys.
Don't look at me like I don't know.
Or wait a night.
You didn't say anything.
Oh, my bad.
Are you in?
Yeah, man, I got that one.
Lunchbox.
Call him Baton Rouge.
Amy?
Calling Baton Rouge.
Eddie?
Colin Baton Rouge.
Good.
Woo!
Arms of a girl in Louisiana.
We're killing it over here.
Next one up.
Let's go, Wesley.
Tumble out of bed,
and I stumble to the kitchen.
That's a lot.
That's it? Okay.
We're in trouble here.
Cumble out of bed
and I stumble
to the kitchen.
I'm in.
Very famous song but I'm singing it wrong.
Tumble out of bed
is what I said.
Come in.
Come out of bed.
Time. Lunchbox.
Watermelon crawl. Amy.
Nine to five.
Eddie. Working.
Nine to five.
The answer.
is nine to five.
Oh, no.
By Dolly Parton.
I'm out of bed and stumble to the kitchen for myself.
Sorry, Eddie.
Working's not in there?
Nine to five.
Check it again.
Make sure.
I did.
Not even working with an apostrophe at the end?
Mm-mm.
I was in my mom's stomach when she went to see that movie.
Well, that's why you got that.
Yeah, that's why you know.
And I think she delivered me like the next day.
All right, next one.
So Amy's up two, huh?
Up two is two left.
Oh, boy.
Here we go.
Becky
She was a beauty
She was from South Alabama
Becky
Was a beauty
Were you not listening to Amy
From South Alabama
I'm in
Becky
Was a beauty
Yeah yeah
From South Alabama
Five seconds
Let's go
We're back
Amy
Huh?
Amy
Amy
Okay
All my exes
in Texas.
Lunch box.
Save a horse,
ride a cowboy.
Eddie,
what was I thinking?
Yeah.
Becky was a beauty
from South Alabama.
Who got it right?
Eddie.
Eddie.
Me, let's go.
I should have to make an educated guess.
I feel bad, but I don't know that song.
I kind of want Wesley to eat this one.
What was that song?
Dirk's Bentley, what was I thinking?
Thank you.
I don't know that one.
Last one.
Eddie, you need to get this and Amy has to miss it.
I know.
What about me?
I think you're long gone.
I don't think I am.
I think I'm one behind Amy.
Yeah, I have three points.
433.
So you're down.
What up?
She can't win, but you can tie.
I can tie.
Amy can miss.
Here we go.
Last one.
Let's go.
She put them out like the burning end of a midnight cigarette.
I never heard of a more.
She put them out like the burning end of a midnight cigarette.
Gee, put them out
Like the burning in
Of a midnight cigarette
Yep
All right
I guess I'm in
That was a tough one
That was a tough one
You got it though?
Yeah
What?
Hold on, we're in?
I'm not saying my answer yet
Okay, you have one second time
That's the worst clock ever
Go ahead, Amy right your answer now
You good?
Watchbox, what do you have?
That's gunpowder and lead
Not correct
Close though
Not correct and not close
Amy.
Smoke.
Not correct.
Eddie, for the tie, tie breaker, if you get it, go ahead.
That's before he cheats.
That is wrong.
She put him out, like the burning end of a midnight cigarette.
She put him out.
Whiskey lullaby.
Like the burning end of a midnight cigarette.
I didn't sing it like that.
Whiskey lullaby, Brad Paisley, Allison Krauss.
Dang, dang, dang, dang.
winner is
with odds. Amen!
Without all, she's still tied.
Yeah. Yeah.
We've got a tie break of you. Sudden death, baby.
Yeah, we'd have gone to sudden death. Where we'd go.
Wesley, you didn't win. Is there anything else you'd like to say this morning while you're on?
And I have no idea what's going on. Yeah, it's okay. We don't either. Half the time we're doing the show. Yeah, go ahead.
What's happening right now. Yeah. Let me just hang out.
Oh, Wesley. Yeah. Yes.
What happened was you didn't pick me, but then I won. Of course. Yes. Absolutely.
Yeah. All right. Thanks for calling. All right. That'd go.
Oh boy.
Oh, boy.
I do that trick sometimes when I'm talking to somebody and I don't want to talk anymore.
I can't, what?
I can't hear you, huh?
You do that one?
What?
Huh?
Yeah.
And then I rub the phone and I hang up.
Yes.
Thank you.
Amy, good job.
Thanks.
No winner for Wesley, but that's okay.
Did you end up going to Home Depot?
Yes, I went with Stevenson to check out.
I know it was a grill, like a grill day.
It was a grill day.
And he's very concerned that I don't know how to use a grill, work grill, cook, figure it out.
Let him know I'm now pretty good on the grill and I was clueless.
The grill, if I have,
a good grill. It's pretty easy. Yeah, he just hasn't seen me grill. I can grill and I will.
And yes, Sam I am. That's a good rhyme, yes. So what happened? What did you get?
There was so many to choose from, but the next grill, it's a four burner. I don't think I need anything big.
It's not like, I'm not going to be grilling for parties quite yet. But the four burner is plenty.
And then there's, I like that it has a little burner on the side. Side burner, because you want beans.
Beans or sauce.
Sauce. Yeah, she wants to make beans and sauce on the side.
I get that, Amy.
And it just looks good.
So what is it again?
It's aesthetically pleasing to me.
No, what's the name of it?
It's a next grill.
It's a four burner.
Like propane, gas, side burner.
Although I am pretty good at cooking.
I don't know what any of this is.
Right.
Well, I basically know it all now because I was studying while I was there looking at all of the different grills.
Well, good for you.
Next up, I might get a griddle.
Oh, those grittles are legit.
That would be fun.
I just think of grittles as going to like Holiday Inn Express.
and making a waffle.
No.
No.
This is like if you go to Waffle House,
whatever, the flat iron grid.
Habachi.
Oh, that's how, okay.
See, I'm thinking of a Waffle Maker then
at the international buffet
or whatever they call it.
I definitely got distracted by that,
but then I had to stay on task
like I'm not looking at griddles.
I'm looking at grittles.
The four burner propane gas grill and black
with side burner and stainless steel,
$249.
But this is limit 10 per order.
You can't get a lot.
I want it 11, Godly.
Well, because they're on sale.
Someone might.
try to buy a lot and then flip it.
Flip this grill.
Labor Day is for doing.
Do Labor Day your way at the Home Depot and nothing recharges doers more than the satisfaction of completing a fall project.
And a long Labor Day weekend is no exception.
Head to the Home Depot now and get your Labor Day done, right?
What if I start competing with Eddie and I don't do smoke chicken, but I do Amy's grilled chicken.
Chicken?
Art trainer, Kevin Kluge wanted a chicken from Eddie and Eddie forgot it.
Didn't even bring it to him.
Eddie's business is, boom.
Man, we've been hitting the road, and that's usually my time to cook.
So what you're saying is it'd be easy for me to come in and take his customers.
Do it.
Are you glad you didn't invest?
No, because had I invested, he'd definitely be making these chickens.
It would be done for sure.
Yeah, you know what I'm saying?
Yeah, yeah.
I need to hire someone, man.
With what money?
I don't know.
Yeah, exactly.
Morgan, you date anybody?
No.
It's still pretty uneventful over here.
I'm going on dates.
Okay, so difference in dating somebody and going on dates is that if you're in a relationship, then you're dating them.
Yes, yeah.
I've just gone on a few first dates, a few second dates, but that's about it.
Hey, Abby, are you dating anybody?
Exactly.
Exactly.
This is about Morgan.
Let's just stick to Morgan.
All right.
I just wanted to give her the opportunity to step up.
Okay.
She didn't want to be a part of the segment.
Oh, good.
I love it.
I mean, she has a dude in Wichita, quote unquote, supposedly, but the one weekend you guys were there, he happened to be out of ten.
That is very true.
He goes to another school.
Yeah, I mean, exactly.
So interesting.
That's a great point.
How do you even know that?
You weren't in Wichita-tall over us?
Oh, I said, oh, did he go to the show?
Oh, he was out of town.
I was like, okay, here we go.
We were all there, and there was no sign.
Nope.
Okay, you know what, Abby, like you said,
not about you, girl?
Yeah, this is about you.
Morgan.
Morgan's still in the mix over here.
So when's the last time you went on a date, Morgan?
I went, I took one to the Luke Bryan concert.
You took somebody.
Yes.
Oh, that's cool.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And how'd it go?
I mean, it was good.
It was a fun night.
A follow-up second date is probably happening.
Is it someone that you're excited about going on a second date with or someone that it wasn't bad?
So let's continue giving it a shot.
It's more of the latter.
I feel like I like that more often now.
It's really hard to get me excited about somebody.
So Morgan has some questions about what we think.
And we're the worst crew to ask.
I haven't dated in like 20.
I mean, I guess I'm the closest to it, but also Amy's about to get back in as well.
Oh, that's right.
Yeah, but you are the closest to it.
Yeah, I'm married, but I've been married for two years.
So it's been about three since I've dated.
Okay, Morgan, go ahead, question one.
Okay, so I want to know when is the right time to do these things.
When should I allow a guy to pick me up for the date?
Interesting, because 10 years ago, you would say first date.
First date.
But now, because you have the ability to Uber, to take your own car,
he has the ability to murder you.
Yeah, stalking.
All that, I think it's a bit different now.
So I would say, I would say second date,
once you get a decent feel of the person,
he can pick you up.
And even if you feel great about it for the first time,
if there's, you just, you need references.
I agree.
Like, if you know him a little bit through somebody else,
he can come pick you up.
Yeah.
But if he's just straight blind,
like you don't know him, you just see him on an app.
I wouldn't let him come immediately.
No, not to your house.
You need to have some sort of feel.
You need to have something about him.
So I'm going to say second date is okay
if you feel good. Why'd you grow?
I mean, guys, first date is fine. If you're going to go
out with a guy, you've got to trust him.
No, you don't. No, you don't.
On a first date, that's not how it works.
You don't have to trust a guy you want a first date with.
I mean, you guys act like the times have changed so much.
They have. Oh, now there's more murderers.
There's always murderers back then.
Now we know about them.
And not only that.
Oh, my gosh. People are meeting in different ways.
Used to on a first day, you'd have to mostly meet somebody.
It was a setup.
And now there's so much
app dating.
You know nothing
about the person at all.
I mean,
you're at least chatting
with them before
you go on a date,
right?
Online.
I've been catfish
before.
I thought I was chatting
with somebody there.
Okay.
Well, I'm going to say
first date.
Quit being scared of things.
Okay.
Tonight at nine.
A woman's a murder edition.
We're going to say second date,
Morgan.
Go ahead.
Okay, okay.
Allowing a guy to come over
for a movie.
You want to take the lead on this one?
Yeah.
Second date.
No problem.
Like,
you went out of them once.
you think you're going to go out again, why not come over and snuggle up on the couch? Let's go.
I mean, I would bring home a chick back in the day. Next night she wanted to come and watch the movie.
All right. That way I don't have to waste time going to the bar.
Coming over a movie, she knows what she's like, all right, we're going to make out. It's cool.
Second date. I feel like we just said you could pick up on second date with references,
and that's them knowing the outside of your house. If they know the inside of your house and casing it.
Oh, my God. Well, I don't know about that, but now you've gone crazy trained.
Yes.
Go ahead.
I'm going to say third because if the first one is good, get to know.
The second one is, do I really like this person?
And he knows where you live at this point.
And you like him.
I think a third date is suitable for that.
But you just understand if you invite him over to watch a movie on a third date,
he's going to think that you get to do other stuff.
Yeah, see, that's a question.
That's a given, though.
There's a good shot for it.
That's what come over watch a movie means.
But not full all, but make out.
But some.
Okay.
For sure.
Yeah, it's not Netflix and chill anymore, I mean.
It's more than that.
No, I mean, I get it.
I'm not naive to that.
I just didn't know that that's what got, that, that was kind of, uh,
if someone comes to your house.
Hinted at on third date.
It doesn't matter the date number.
If it's nighttime and it's at your house and there's an extended period.
Okay.
You ain't there to make s'mores.
Okay.
You're not just there to hook up, but that's probably, you're,
okay, I'm sure some women are thinking that too,
but you're saying every man is thinking that.
If we're going over to somebody's house or they're coming over to the dude's house and it's night time and there are two or three hours, there's going to be a move probably even an initial move made.
Sure.
Say there's a move, but is there anything like you as a guy would find helpful if it's just the third date and you are at the house and doing a movie?
Like what can the girl say like, hey, how can she be clear?
Like I'm just so many.
Don't invite over for the date.
Or have a pillow wall in between you on the couch.
Well, that's why you happen.
You're right.
They're a full body suit.
Like one of those guys that wear the full green
over their face at the football game.
Like a wet suit?
Those are hard to get it out of.
Exactly.
So maybe more like the fifth date.
They should come over it.
Especially if you guys are going to play touchy feeling.
If you're wanting to take it slow.
All right, next.
Yes. Meeting my dog.
Whenever he comes over.
No, you know what?
It can even be the second date.
If he comes to the door, he can meet the dog.
Yeah, that's a tool.
Like, you can use that as information.
I think the dog's fine.
he's not going to meet the dog in the first date because he ain't coming to your house.
Second date, if you feel good about it and the dog is, and you're not in a hurry,
he wants to come to the door, great.
But at least by the third date, come on in, meet the dog.
I think third date's fine.
Doesn't the dog let you know if it's a good dude or not?
No.
Well, that's, what I mean is the dog may not tell you, but you can see how he reacts to dogs.
Like, if he's like, get away from me, kicks the dog.
Nobody really does that, though.
Even if they don't like the dog, they fake it.
It's not movies.
Okay, I was exaggerating for the sake of trying to,
make a point that what if you realize he doesn't like dogs?
Don't fake it.
You can't really put too much of that in the first couple dates.
They fake it.
Okay.
When you have the first movie date and your dog's there, then you can really tell because
the dog will actually be around for a while.
Okay.
Next.
That's true for sure.
And then the last one, the first kiss.
Went to the first kiss.
Oh, that's fine.
I mean, it could be halfway through the first date.
First day.
Yeah.
That's not a big deal.
That's not, yeah.
It can be the third date if you want it to be.
But it can also be halfway through the first date if it's going right.
Who cares?
Just a kiss.
Hey, but it started with a good night kiss.
But yeah, if you met him at a bar, like if it's not someone you met on a dating app,
it can be the first night.
Doesn't matter.
You only have to be on a date.
Let's go.
Yeah.
I mean, if they can't kiss, you ain't going to want to go out with them anyway.
They can't kiss?
What do you mean?
They don't have a tongue.
If they're born without a tongue, what are you going to do?
If they're a bad kisser-
I met this girl wants no lips, no tongue.
You're at the bar.
They called her gummy.
You're at the bar, right?
And you meet this dude, you're like, oh, he's kind of hot.
You know what I mean?
like you kiss him that night
so see if you want to go on a date with him.
Yeah, the kiss is only as
intimate as you allow it to be
meaning you can kiss someone and it's who cares
or you can kiss someone and it means a lot.
I think like holding hands is oddly
a little more intimate than
at times kissing depending on how much you've had to drink
type thing. So I don't know
that I would beat yourself up about the first kiss.
Just don't be somebody who
I want to prove to him
that if I don't kiss him
then you've set this whole precedent of
well this is going to
be this big deal. It's going to be a buildup and it ain't
going to be, meet the expectation
that you have for it. So as soon as he walks
to the door, kiss him. Get it over with. Get it over with. When are you
going out with this other guy again?
Soon. What kind of, what
career path? What does he have? He's
an entrepreneur. He has a few different
things going on. Entrepreneur.
Yeah. Oh, boy. But like,
the reason I asked is because he wanted to
come over and cook dinner and I was like, and this is
the second date. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
Why can't he cook dinner?
his place. Yeah. Because he
is homeless. Roommate? Oh, no.
He was his mom. Ray moved that was homeless when he met
Bay. He was living at the radio station. That's true.
And he moved in with her. Immediately.
Yes. So maybe I should say it has to be
your place. I would just wait until the third
date for the cooking. Okay.
Because for sure, if he cooks for you, he
definitely wants you to cook for him.
Really? All the way. You don't have to cook
the full, you don't have to go Thanksgiving on him. But definitely
he's going to want a little cooking too.
Okay. But it's not Thanksgiving. Are you mean
cooking cooking, or like cooking?
There's so many expectations.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Let's just say the thermometer is going to get hot.
When you're cooking, yeah.
Good luck, Morgan. Be safe.
Thank you.
I will try not to get murdered.
Here's a voicemail from Liz in Alaska.
This took my oldest kid for his first day of school,
and I haven't been able to listen to you all actually on the radio since I was 15 going to school in Austin.
And now here I am driving my oldest kid to school in Alaska.
Alaska and I turn on the radio and I find out that you guys are on the radio up here too.
So I just, I love it.
It's very full circle for me to share the morning drive to school with my son with Bobby Bone Show and Amy at lunchbox.
So I just wanted to say, I love you guys.
I'm so glad that you're on the radio in Alaska.
And, woohoo.
Thank you.
We are too.
We're on in Alaska?
We are right now.
Wow.
It's awesome.
Yeah.
Alaska, is that the only state I haven't been to now?
Because it used to be Maine.
I'm one away.
Oh, you got to go.
I'm one away.
I want to go.
Let's all go on the cruise, Alaska and cruise.
Wait, what?
I thought you wanted to go somewhere tropical.
No, no, no.
I need to go to Alaska and I need to do it for my mom and I need two weeks.
Well, you just threw all this on me.
In a row.
That's the problem, because you can't.
I got a groove back, Alaska version?
No, you can't go to any shorter than nine days on the boat or something.
Oh, boat.
It must be a cruise.
It is a cruise.
So you're telling me we have to go on a cruise for your mom who passed away,
who I also love dearly.
And if I don't, I'm disrespecting her.
Right.
Oh, crap.
Well put.
Let's go.
She got me, boys.
Book it.
Right.
But why her?
Because it's been, I've been trying to go.
I should have gone 10 years ago.
But why her?
Why is this for her?
Oh, because that's what she wanted to do before she passed away.
Like when she started to get really sick, it was kind of like, oh, shoot, we got to do something.
So she's always, she'd always wanted to do that.
But we waited too long.
And the doctor was like, you cannot go.
be at sea on a boat.
And I was like, well, I think we dog different places.
Like, no, it's too risky.
So we went...
She's guilty of me. She's using her mom who died.
No, but... My mom told me before she died that she didn't want anybody ever
pressuring me to go on a cruise.
Okay. Well, now here we are. Back to Square one.
Well, we ended up taking my mom to South Padre for three days.
Must have been nice.
And she was sick the whole time.
It was miserable.
Oh, that sucks.
We got to go do the cruise.
Well, I tell you about my mom before she died.
Her last words were, don't go on and cruise.
Okay.
Yep.
All right, well, we cancel each other out.
All right there.
And let's do a...
Anyway, thank you, Liz, from Alaska for calling.
Dark humor this morning here on the Bobby Bone Show.
Bobby T from Georgia has this call.
I have a morning horny.
I'm a cowboy fan, but we never win, though.
Window.
Oh, win.
Cowboys, because they don't win a lot.
No, I know, but what's the window?
Like, though.
They never win, though.
But what's the...
What's the joke, though?
Wait, say the first part again?
I'm a Cowboys fan, but we never win, though.
Though, win. We never win, though.
Like, how...
What's the Cowboy reference?
I'm a Cowboys fan. I don't know.
Is it maybe the Cowboys fan?
What are you hearing, Amy? It blows wind.
My mom before she died said, don't listen to Amy's jokes.
But you know what?
Listen, I know what it's like for people to not laugh at your jokes.
But you were trying to explain it to us.
I really was just trying to help them out.
Got it. There's nothing there, huh?
So he was just making fun.
Will you play that again?
Play it again.
I have a morning horny.
I'm a cowboy fan, but we never window.
Okay.
Got it.
You do?
Fan?
He's talking like a fan.
Fan.
Okay.
Window.
Like a fan.
Yeah, like a fan.
Like a box fan or a fan fan fan.
Boy, that's a struggle.
Not a good one.
But you didn't get that at first.
Window, like a window.
And a fan.
There I am.
The Babo Show.
Here's Amy's pile of stories.
Tattoos are a hot.
new trend at parties,
like weddings,
anniversaries,
like where you're gathering
big people,
like you bring in a tattoo artist
and people can get a tattoo.
It can't be anything crazy
like a sleep,
but they'll do the thin outline of something,
like a guy got a little buffalo on his forearm or something.
Like a small tattoo?
Yeah.
Still.
Like a letter.
Yeah,
you're still kind of crazy to go somewhere.
Cool.
Not saying bad.
Cool.
To go somewhere and get a small tattoo
if you wanted one anyway.
But weird because
I saw,
say that, but Amy had surgery in the studio, because I was going to say, you know, it was a dangerous,
but I'm sure it's fine.
That's a pretty cool.
I mean, I feel like we could bring someone up here and like we could all get tattoos on there.
Like a little teeny one.
I don't have a tattoo.
I don't have a tattoo here.
Get it hard on your right butt cheek.
Oh, that's not bad.
If we did, who would get one?
I would.
I could do another one, sure.
Yeah.
Mike would do one.
Okay.
I think it's anyone who has one.
It's like, okay, cool.
It's not the big of deal.
We'll get another one.
You guys are hardcore, man.
Yeah, we're basically bikers.
So if you're throwing, like, a party, keep this in mind.
And you don't have to front the bill for the tattoo artist.
I mean, you can pay for him or her to be there for a little bit.
But then whoever comes, if they want to get it, like, they throw like 30, 50 bucks or whatever at it as well.
Oh, I would still do open bar, open tattoos.
Yeah, I thought it was included.
I would pay for everybody.
Guys, if I remember having a party and there's a tattoo person, I will pay for all your tattoos.
But it can't be for more than like 15 minutes because other people need to get in.
Right.
Yes.
Okay.
All right.
cool. So I saw this
and it kind of freaked me out so then I texted Ben
because he's the pilot.
Who's Ben? Who's Ben?
Why can't you say it? Who is that?
It's a reverse husband. Oh, right, right, right, right.
So a new report found near misses
with commercial airlines are happening a lot
more in the U.S. than you'd think. There were at least
46 of them just last month alone.
I saw some of the radars where these planes
almost hit each other. How close?
Well, the radar planes look pretty close.
I don't know how in real life.
I mean, it is really crazy, but I sent Ben the article and he literally replied this back to me, quote.
I don't think that they are happening more often.
It's just that there's more ways to report them now.
So this is nothing new.
That makes sense.
This has always been happening.
And then he said, you're always close to each other at airports and moving fast.
It makes sense.
And it also doesn't help me not be scared.
Right.
When he's like, no, it's always been this way, you just now know how crazy it is.
there are times we're flying.
Well, when you look over and there's a plane right next to you,
you're like, that's weird.
I don't like it.
Or there's one flying over the top of you or below you.
You're like, that seems to be a little too close.
But you think about it, though, it's a big sky.
I know, but you think about it too.
These are huge things.
When they crash into each other,
everybody's going to die immediately.
100%.
And a lot of what's being reported,
you know, like Ben said,
when you're taking off on your lane,
things are going fast.
It's closer to the airport
that you're starting to be around more planes.
And just two weeks ago,
an American Airlines flight was taking off in Phoenix.
and it banged left instead of right
and it veered directly into the path of a southwest flight.
They came within a third of a mile of hitting each other.
They planned chicken or what?
I don't understand.
First of all, I want to say something, a third of a mile, 0.3 miles.
That's a long way.
And you're going so fast.
Yes, so that's a long ways unless you're going as fast as they are.
But why did Homeboy go left when he should have gone right?
Got confused.
Like, you don't get confused when you're a pilot.
Pilots are humans too.
Remember the story in Austin back in February when two planes were like within 100 feet of each other?
Yeah.
Which 100 feet, that's a...
That's close.
Yeah, that's really close.
Yeah.
That's like, that's 33 yards.
Whoa.
I like picturing things in a football field because that helps me with the distance.
I was watching the story about a comedian.
It was supposed to be a comedian, went to the pilot and was like, hey, are you drunk?
And the pilot, like, lectured him.
Like, you don't talk it like that.
It was super funny because it was really awkward.
Oh.
I laughed.
And not at the comedian.
So why was the pilot?
You don't want to talk because they don't,
is this serious?
Yeah.
He's like,
we're not joke about that.
We're on a plane.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
What else?
Well, if you're wanting to live longer,
you probably heard about the Mediterranean diet.
Yes, back in the day.
Mm-hmm.
Where you eat fish and vegetables and fruit.
But now the Mediterranean lifestyle is becoming a thing.
And they are all about rest,
socializing with friends.
This sounds like lunchbox is lifestyle.
Yeah, what?
Yeah, I like it.
And, you know, some moderate exercise.
Basically, everybody that is from metatrainian area,
they have a lower risk of cardiovascular disease and mortality rates.
Medetrainian area?
Over there.
Is that near Louisiana, Arkansas?
It's not in America.
Listen, if you don't eat a lot of red meat and you move around a little bit,
you're not going to have this much hard to do that.
No, but this is like literally, like live the lifestyle.
I'm on some, and I take magnesium,
and I've mentioned it here on the show,
but I'm in some TikTok hole of magnesium posts
where everybody's showing all this how magnesium is stopping
and limiting heart disease
and how it's really like a big pharma doesn't want it known
because they don't want everybody to get healthy
because then they don't have a business anymore.
They want people to stay pretty sick
so they can continue.
They don't want them really sick,
they want them pretty sick so they can continue to make their medicine.
And so, but it was about how magnesium is like kind of that thing
that has helped a lot of people sleep,
which sleep helps a lot of people.
well, be healthier at everything and have a better...
Anyway, that's the, like, I watch...
What's your algorithm?
Well, I watch quantum physics, mostly string theory type stuff on TikTok, my algorithm.
I watch now magnesium.
I'm on magnesium TikTok.
Isn't it weird?
90s wrestling, TikTok.
That makes sense.
Current fantasy football.
Okay.
And the other one is like the Jackie Vinson girl who plays the blues, her videos.
Pretty much all I get on TikTok right now.
That's funny.
Yeah, yeah.
All right, Amy.
I'm Amy.
That's my pile.
That was Amy's pile of...
story.
It's time for the good news.
With Bobby.
Tell me something good.
Earlier this year, there's a kid named Julian.
He's eight.
Him and his mom, Julie.
They went from New York to Maui.
When they were there, they went on a boat.
There was a boat guide named Ryan.
So the wildfires just crushing Maui.
Julian, the kid, learned that his friend, Ryan.
His house was completely destroyed in the blaze.
And so he's like, hey, what can we do to help?
Now, again, he's eight years old.
So Julian, who likes to call himself Julian businessman,
It just feels like lunch bucks now
Yeah for sure
Yeah
Julian businessman
Set up a lemonade stand at Central Park
And he's just raising money for his friend
So he did that
He also crowdfunded
It's like hey look
I'm a kid
I like to help out
This is the guy I want to help
But I also want to help out
The Maui Humane Society
Because he loves animals
So far
Julian businessman
The 8 year old has raised more than $7,000
Wow
That's crazy
Let's go Julian
That's awesome
But Julian's like
Hey
generosity to me is like breathing.
He's eight.
Somebody told him say this.
There's no way an eight-year-old knew that.
I think the eight-year-old had a good heart and wanted to do the other stuff for sure.
Because that's really good.
But there's no way a second grade is like generosity is like breathing.
Yeah.
If it's true, though, he's going to be president.
Hey, this kid's got it regardless.
President, our president's always generous?
No, but they say they are.
Even if they're lying.
Yeah.
Good job, Julian.
That's really cool, man.
Eight years old, raised as of now $7,000.
for the boat guide named Ryan
in the Maui Humane Society.
That is what it's all about.
That was tell me something good.
A win is a win.
A win is a win.

There's two golden rules that any man should live by.
Rule one, never mess with a country girl.
You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes.
And rule two, never mess with her friends either.
We always say that trust your girlfriends.
I'm Anna Sinfield.
in this new season of The Girlfriends.

I'm Ago Wadam. My next guest, you know from Step Brothers, Anchorman, Saturday Night Live,
and the Big Money Players Network. It's Will Ferrell.
Woo, woo, woo, woo.
My dad gave me the best advice ever. I went and had lunch with them one day, and I was like,
and Dad, I think I want to really give this a shot. I don't know what that means, but I just know
the groundlings. I'm working my way up through, and I know it's a place that come look for
up and coming talent.
He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you, which is really sweet.
Yeah.
He goes, but there's so much luck involved.
And he's like, just give it a shot.
He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit.
If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration.
It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat.
Just hang in there.
Yeah.
It would not be.
Right, it wouldn't be that.
There's a lot of luck.
Listen to Thanks, Dad, on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.
Thank you guys for hanging out.
It's time for the investigative morning corny.
Team, are you ready?

A hippie long hair.
Flower power.
Oh, Pippie Longstockings.
What do you call a hippie's wife?
I don't know when she yells the word wife like that.
It doesn't help me do anything except why is she yelling wife like that?
Oh, okay.
Wife.
Bride.
Peace, fiend.
Spouse.
A little piece.
A hippie's wife.
What is a hippie do?
A circle back.
Yeah.
Yeah, circle back.
Can we do that?
Yeah, circle back.
No, we don't circle back.
Okay.
Far out, man.
No.
Fees a middle.
Peace.
What do you call hippies, wife?
When you say that, it doesn't help us.
I don't know.
Like a hippie.
I don't know.
Like a hippie.
Hi.
Hi.
Hi.
What do they call wives?
Like, matrons.
Old lady.
Spouses.
Braves.
Maine squeeze.
Chick.
Bro.
I don't know, man.
Woman.
Oh my gosh.
What is your wife?
She is.
She is Caitlin.
What?
What?
When you're, okay.
Spouse?
No, just say the answer.
Don't try to explain it.
Just explain it.
Just explain. Just say the answer.
What do you call a hippie's wife?
Mississippi.
Oh, Mrs. Hippie.
Mrs. Hippie.
Like Mississippi.
No, no, no.
I get it.
Mrs. Hiffy.
Yes, it does.
No, no.
Mrs. When you're married, it's MRS, which is Miss.
No, we get it.
Mrs. Hippie.
Because it would be like what state is also a hippie's wife, Mrs. Hippie.
Yeah.
Okay.
Well, you.
That's one way to say it
Sometimes when you're not getting
You're just going to rewrite the joke
We would have never gotten that

We only got one
Eddie do it quietly
Clear eyes
Full Hearts
And Liz
Spanish Word of the Day
Let's go
Oh here we go
Eddie
Spanish word of the day
Hey, guys, the word today is maize.
Maize.
You know what that means, guys?
Yes.
What is it?
Corn.
That's right.
Corn.
Mice means corn, so let me use that in a sentence.
Rain makes maize.
My yeast makes whiskey.
Eddie needs to drink a lot of water to make us flim to go down.
It's how it is.
Yeah, I got them too, man.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Mice.
Yeah.
What about, what's the other thing I think of corn?
Elote.
Elote, that's a lot.
It's corn on the cob.
Are you impressed?
I knew that that was that?
That's really good, dude.
Yeah, because that's the...
If elotei is corn on the cob,
shouldn't, it'd be like,
yellow, be corn, and then te on the cob?
You know what, man, that's too much for me.
I don't know.
I'm not a Spanish teacher.
Maiz.
No arro.
Maiz.
It's a Z, actually, at the end.
M-A-Z, right?
Oh, like maize.
Yes.
Oh, like maize.
Mice.
That's from the Pilgrims.
Okay, there you go.
That's your Spanish word of the day.
Thank you very much.
I agree with you, Eddie.
I want an update, too.
On your car, lunchbox.
Hey, what's going on there, man?
Oh, my car?
Your car.
That's what we said.
You come in every day covered in sweat.
You ride your bike to work, which is awesome.
Or he's bumming rides.
Or you're bumming rides with everybody.
And you're trying to create bits like carpool karaoke.
Yes.
Yeah, I know that was a good bit.
No, you just want to people pick you up and drive you into work.
Or it's like you're back in middle school and you call your wife to pick you up and you got to wait.
Is he doing that?
Yes, and somebody's got to wait with him.
So he's not alone.
I've had to do that.
Like my wife, if I want to go play golf or if I want to go do something outside of the house,
I have to have her drop me off and pick me up.
So what's the deal with the car?
Well, here's the truth, guys.
Here's the truth.
All right.
I got it towed to a shop.
And so they're working on it.
They're looking at it.
And the reason I haven't bit the bullet to, like, buy a new car is because I need to have money to gamble when we go to Vegas for IHart.
No.
So, yeah, because you got to put a down payment on my car.
When you go get a car, you got to put a down payment.
But if I put my down payment, then I don't have any cash flow to freaking gamble.
Like I can't play crafts, can't play blackjack, can't play the slots.
So I have to wait and hopefully, maybe they can fix it.
When they find out the problem, maybe it's only like $300, 400, 400 bucks instead of me dropping $3,000 on a down payment.
What if you did didn't gamble for two days?
Huh!
Go to Vegas and not gamble?
What kind of life is that?
Well, you can work.
Well, you're going to work.
No, I'm going to go work.
But guess what?
Work hard, play hard.
That's how I look at life.
You don't even work hard when you're out there.
Have you ever seen me?
Yeah, yeah, all the time.
Maybe.
Yeah.
You see, I mean, backstage, I mean, I get backstage footage of everything.
I let the listener on the inside of the backstage.
People that don't have the passes, it's like they have a pass when they're with me.
Oh, is it like too much access?
I don't know.
Is that what it's called?
Okay.
So you're not getting a car because you want to gamble.
Yeah.
But hopefully they can fix my car, man.
Hopefully.
I kind of understand.
And if he wins big in Vegas,
he gets a better one big in Vegas.
I've won a few thousand dollars before.
One time?
Numerous times.
Numerous.
Like three.
That's numerous.
Do you feel that it's irresponsible to not gamble or to gamble and that's why you're
keeping your money, not doing a car?
No, I don't think it's irresponsible because I'm still showing up to all my obligations on time,
finding ways to do it.
I'm getting creative
with how I get there.
Ride the bike.
Cool.
I mean, guys, you know what's cool?
Add to this, I ride my bike.
I'm like a normal cyclist now
because I'll ride my bike
four miles out of the way to pick up lunch.
Throw my backpack and ride it on home.
And I go in, like, wherever I'm going to get lunch,
I walk in, I got my helmet on,
and I am dripping sweat.
Just standing in a line waiting and they're like,
would you like that for here to go?
And I'm like, please.
And then they go, do you need a bag?
Now I got the backpack.
I throw in the backpack and right on home.
So why even get a car at all?
Well, eventually it's going to be hard with the wife trying to take me
everywhere I want to go and like if I have an appointment here
and she has an appointment and kids.
Winter time.
Winter time.
It's going to get cold.
So if you go to Vegas and you just break even.
Then I'll be able to come home and put the down payment.
If you go to Vegas and you lose $3,000.
Then I'll have to wait a paycheck or two.
You know, because when you live paycheck to paycheck.
But you don't live paycheck to paycheck.
But I do.
Like my lifestyle, like I like to save.
Like, I don't save.
Okay, but why not start?
But you say you're frugal.
I don't get it.
He just got distracted from a text.
Like, what was that?
You're like known.
He got a text right in the middle of that segment.
He did.
He got distracted.
I thought it was my wife sending something about the car and I was like, I don't want to look at it.
I'm going to make sure.
You're known as being frugal and now you're saying you don't save.
No, no, but I don't say.
Like, Eddie and I don't have savings for retirement.
We don't.
If we saved, we'd say.
safe for retirement. Like I have
a mortgage to pay. I have daycare
I pay. I pay kids clothes. I mean, so
things like that. The light bill.
He's got another text.
My wife's like, this is
the reason you're not getting a car?
Did you text her that?
No, she's listening. She said
this is the reason you're not
getting the car. I've never seen
seen him so scared of a text coming to.
Got it. Okay. Well, let us know how it goes.
You know what I'm saying? But do you understand my
We don't know.
No.
I mean, I understand.
No, no, no.
I understand why you feel this way.
I could not understand it for myself.
I would go, you know what?
I'm not going to gamble.
I have to get a car.
But I'm going to be there for two days.
Only two days.
Right.
I understand.
That's 48 hours of walking by slot machines and not putting a dollar in.
Are you kidding me?
That is like, that's like taking a...
I shouldn't say that.
I was going to say a fat kid to a candy store.
No, yeah, don't say that.
That's why I said I did.
I like candy.
Oh my gosh.
Or an overweight person to a buffet.
Stop, no.
He does fat candy.
I go that shit's into that.
Or an overweight person.
That's more politically correct.
We're done.
It's wrong with him.
We're done.
Good luck.
I hope you went in a baby soon.
Hey, let me say this.
I forgot to mention it earlier.
I do now own part of a professional pickleball team, the Texas ranchers in major league pickleball.
Thank you.
That's awesome, dude.
They're based in Austin.
Thank you.
Oh, you can clap.
I just haven't talked about it, so I just want to mention it.
But like as an owner, you're not a player, you're just...
I'm Jerry Jones.
Right.
He doesn't play wide receiver.
But like Micah Parsons, plays for the Cowboys, is one of the owners as well.
It's amazing.
Miles Garrett, who plays for the Browns.
So it's a bunch of us athletes, basically.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
But yes, Major League Pickleball, I am now part owner of a team.
Which means we get to sit in the box for these games, right?
I don't know if they have a box yet.
Well, we need to work on that.
Yeah, the sport's blowing up.
And, like, LeBron bought a team.
Tom Brady has a team.
So, like, the ranchers will play those teams?
Yeah, it's Major League Pickleball, one big league.
Nice.
So I don't, and we have a group of us.
We're an ownership group.
NLP.
Yes.
So we are now the owners.
Wait, so sometimes Jerry Jones meets with Robert Kraft,
the owner of the Patriots.
I'll probably meet with LeBron.
I'll be like, let's talk it over.
That's what I'm talking about.
Zach Bryan's one of the owners.
groups. Anyway, there's that.
If you have any questions, let me know.
I won't know the answer to it, but
Major League Pickleball, we're Texas
ranchers. We're a big Texas rancher team here.
We don't know when the first game is. I'll let you know all that
soon as I'll ask. What soon as I learned? You have your players?
Yeah, we did a draft. Wow.
Mm-hmm. We sure did. I can tell you about it in the post show
and stuff. I don't want to, you know,
gobble the whole segment up with that because Scuba
Steve is here. It's time for
Scuba. Steve
Suggest! What's up, buddy?
So I've been an emotional wreck lately.
As a father of three.
Is that why your voice is so bad?
Yeah, I've been yelling a lot.
I'm just kidding.
A lot of allergies.
So my oldest is five, and he just started kindergarten.
And then I have two other kids that just started daycare because my wife went back to work.
So it's been a lot of changes in my life.
And I've been crying a lot.
Wow.
Because it's really hard for me to see my children grow up.
And everyone's always like, they grow fast.
And I was like, yeah, sure, whatever.
But it's happened so quick now that I'm now thinking about, like, my mom and me as a kid.
And a lot of perspectives are happening right now.
And I've just been thinking about it too much that I just cannot stop crying about it.
Every time I pick him up from school, every time I see him and he's just talking to me in a different, I just, I don't know how to handle it.
So I need some, I guess, emotional support, advice.
Anyone else has been through this or are going through right now just like me.
Eddie, you got a bunch of kids.
Yeah, you know, it's funny.
I think maybe he's just a crier because, what was it, two months back, Scuba, you and I, like we hugged.
We were talking about something pretty serious.
we hugged and we both started crying
in here in the studio
yeah we did I remember that yeah
but what was the hug about
I think we were just kind of consumed by life
I think it's kind of what he's talking about
sometimes there's just everything kind of
it's too much and I feel like me and scuba
have a lot in common with the kids work
we work the same place and we go through the same
kind of things that we kind of saw
in each other gave each other a hug and man
we sobbed
sobbed just sawed like tears rolled down
what led to that like what
What was the catalyst that made you guys grab each other hug and cry?
It might have been like a hard week of work.
Maybe two weeks of work where we were just like, I think we were just the only ones here,
and it was probably 4 o'clock.
That can't be true.
Lunchbox says you don't work.
I know.
Lunchbox doesn't know what we do.
Okay.
But you guys both were like feeling and crying with each other.
Yeah.
And dude, I think, and when we went bowling.
Listen, I'm glad you did.
It's awesome and it's very mature.
It's also weird.
But it's awesome.
I wish I could do it.
Was that on August 8th?
I don't remember.
No, I wasn't here.
Why?
Why?
I mean, because I remember crying because I worked that day.
Like all of us?
What in the world?
It's like a town where all these people have the same event that happened with aliens.
Like, no, no, no.
But they weren't together.
So we all went home and tried.
That was funny, Amy.
Well, I mean, it was just one of those days.
So I think this is a sign for us to do something together because we're all going through it together.
Amy cried.
Me and a scuba cried.
cry.
No, that's what a fuck doesn't cry.
Would you ever cry with one of these guys and sob and hug each other?
Oh, if someone died, I'd cry with them.
Not dying.
No.
There ain't nothing to cry about besides that.
Family, kids?
I mean, kids, you know, I don't.
They're not dying.
Right, so there's nothing to cry about.
But it doesn't affect you to see them change and grow.
I mean, it's cool to see them become a different person and grow and become an adult.
But it's also really hard to see them going from a baby and become a human.
Like, I guess it's hard for me to let them go into the world is what I'm trying to do.
No, I understand.
And like my wife's other night, we were looking at a picture of our oldest.
And when he was like one or one and a half and he was in like a Halloween costume of like what Eeyore.
And she was like, oh my gosh, he doesn't even look like a little baby anymore.
Where's that little baby?
And she goes, and I'm sure in five years I'm going to be like, oh, he used to look like a little baby when he used to say.
You know, and I'm like.
When I look at old pictures of lunchbox, that's what I do.
Yeah.
He used to be such a little baby.
I know.
But yes.
So yes, I understand what you're saying.
Like it's weird to see them grow up and become humans.
but it's also pretty freaking cool
to have them like be able to have a conversation with you
and not at just being
ah, you know, and just noises.
Yeah.
Okay, two things.
I think it's great that you're able to have an emotional release.
Crying is really important.
There's a reason why we cry
and there's chemicals release that are helping you
through that and that you felt safe to do it here with Eddie.
That's great.
Second thing would be if you're having now thoughts
about your childhood and your mom,
better help.
Right?
Yeah, therapy.
Yeah, better help.
Better help.
I don't want.
Or get that mastectomy reverse.
No.
No.
I think that.
Oh, Dr. Lucky.
Let's do it in studio.
Yeah.
No.
No, no, no, no.
Yeah, she'll do it.
I think that there is something deeper happening and you should try to explore it while it's, while it's open, right?
Because you may shut it down again.
I think the best time to go in is when there's a wound, clearly.
Maybe, potentially, or something.
Let me compare it to a toothache.
Okay.
Or a tooth that hurts.
Okay.
So you can, you're like, oh, I cracked a tooth.
Oh, it hurts real bad.
I'm not going to go to the dentist.
And then over a few days, maybe it doesn't hurt so bad anymore.
And you're like, I'm not even going to go get it.
Or your car being something in your car and your light goes off.
And then it goes back.
Eventually, it's going to be even worse.
So you may have this time where it's not killing you.
But the car is going to be broken again.
And your tooth's going to hurt again even worse.
So you might as well get it fixed while you can.
Okay.
So you're saying therapy is my solution?
I'm saying to find.
to find your solution.
Potentially.
But also, I don't have kids, so take the kids out of it.
But this could be any situation in life where there's a maturation that is fundamentally
changing who you are.
There are also great things about it.
And I think sometimes just generally we focus on the not so positive aspects because
they're easier to focus on than the positive aspects of your kids are healthy.
They're getting older.
You can do new things with them.
You've never got to do before.
Yeah.
And yes, all the things that you feel, absolutely.
For sure, you can feel them.
but you should just remind yourself to feel positive about the other things too
and not just punish yourself.
You should also reward yourself.
Yeah, because I wallow in all the negative and that kind of stuff.
That's a great advice to think about the positives of this because there are a lot of positives of this.
Yeah, like when they wake you up in the middle of night and say, Dad, Dad, it's like, oh, too or more.
And you're like, you've got to be kidding me.
You go down and you get mad and you go down.
What do you want?
Yeah.
And they say, beer.
Fine, here.
I just wanted to hug, Dad.
And you're like, oh, you're so annoyed.
But then as you're going back to your.
room, you're like, man, one day they're not going to want to hug, you know?
That's true.
Yeah.
Eddie does that with me now.
He'll call me.
Can you come over?
Why?
I drive over.
He wants to cry with me.
But I still, yeah.
One day that's not going to happen.
Eddie goes, we were crying because we were, we were so much alike.
We both work here and we both have kids.
Yeah, I mean, we go to.
I'm just surprised you guys got to that point together.
Right.
At the same time.
I'm telling you, it was August 8th.
It was, I was in Hawaii in August 8th.
Life was great.
Oh, okay, just kidding.
Scuba, whatever it is you going through.
a lot of other people have gone through it too
a lot of other people do including myself
focus on the negative things
because they're easier to focus on
instead of also
not just focusing on the positives
but letting that equal to scale out
at least equal it out
I bet you it's more than that
I bet it's heavier
so focus on that a little more
and go to better help
okay what's the code word
that's what I was pointed to you for a minute ago
slash bones maybe
that's always a safe guess
yeah bones or bobbyer
bones
you get 10% off the first month
slash bone
Appreciate that.
You got this, scuba.
You got this, scuba.
Hey, let's give scuba a one, two, three.
You got this.
Okay, ready?
One, two, three.
You got this.
You got this.
Scuba.
Let's go, baby.
Thank you.
What's up, everybody?
Call us if you want, questions, feedback, comments, whatever.

We love it when you add to the show.

Stories.
In the news, a lawsuit has been filed against a Michigan,
an Olive Garden restaurant after a man says he was served soup with a severed rat's leg in it.
I need to see the leg. I need to watch the video to see if he put the leg in there himself.
And did he order Ratatooey or not?
Great question. Was it rat soup?
What was it? Can't get mad at rat soup.
Thomas Howie said he went to Olive Garden.
While eating some soup, he felt a sharp stab in his cheek and he discovered something covered in fur.
Okay, that's gross.
Naturally, he barfed immediately.
Police called to the incident, confirmed that the rat,
appeared chewed from the soup.
The officers were also gagging.
It sounds like the scene in Stand By Me
where they're all throwing up on each other
because of the pie eating contest.
A doctor later confirmed it was part of a rat,
gave him a tetanus shot in antibiotics.
He claimed in his lawsuit
that Olive Garden Management
has refused to acknowledge what happened saying he has
they have no reason to believe any validity to his claim.
And then they give the number
of the amount of money he's seeking.
And because of this number,
I kind of believe him.
It's low?
It's got to be.
Yeah.
It's not low, but it's not $3 million.
It's $75,000.
Oh.
I feel like Olive Garden can make that go away real quick.
Real quick.
Maybe we do a little research to figure out if he has some $75,000 bill that's due or something.
Good point.
And also, has he done this in the past?
Is he this kind of guy?
And if he's not, give him the money, that's disgusting.
It also, I'm going to say this.
I know you don't like it.
That it happens.
It shouldn't happen.
I hate that it happens.
but the kitchens at restaurants are gross.
I've worked in them.
They're wet.
It's not even because of anything other than they're damp and hot and wet.
And there's a lot of food.
There are bugs and there are food.
And it's up to the person in the kitchen and the staff to make sure that doesn't happen.
But isn't it easy to bring in a leg and throw in your soup?
I don't think that's what happened is my point.
Oh, you mean the guy.
The guy, yeah.
He barf, though.
And I would think if you stick your finger in your mouth.
Yeah.
Well, there are three scenarios here.
Either the rat leg accidentally got in there because there was a rat in the kitchen.
someone in the kitchen put it in there to be, I don't know, disgruntled employee.
Or it could have come in like the mix of the soup.
Yeah.
Sure.
Or it started wherever the soup was.
They do it from scratch, right?
No.
I wouldn't think a restaurant like that.
Made, I don't know.
It depends.
Some stuff they do make there.
But I'm going to go with, I think the guys tell them the truth, but I do a little
investigate and just to make sure.
That's from click on detroit.com, but that is disgusting.
And you should not have that in your soup.
But I'm saying occasionally it's going to happen because restaurants
I'm trying to just disgusting.
Tell him. Tell him he didn't deserve that.
He doesn't deserve that. And I'm sorry, but I don't know that yet.
Guess why we need to investigate.
So I'm holding off on that statement for right now.
Okay.
A missing California woman, Lisa Hu, is found safe.
Eight years after her disappearance.
Eight years!
A California woman who disappeared nearly eight years ago was found safe over the weekend.
Lisa Hu, 31, was removed from the Oakland Police Department's missing persons list.
After informing police, I was never missing.
She was reported missing by her family
In December 3rd, 2015, in her early 20s.
She was estranged for her mom at the time,
but the pair recently reunited and reached out to Oakland police
to say, hey, please take me off the list.
The department closed the case.
No foul play.
New York Post.
So she never had to do anything where she had to like sign in somewhere,
fingerprint, anything that the government would know,
drivers lie, anything that's in some sort of registrar.
That she's not missing anymore.
Yeah.
Weird.
And then I wonder what happened.
Do you know anything about this?
I just know that she got in a fight with her mom
and left and then didn't tell her family where she was going
and it didn't say where she went.
But for eight years, she just went and lived her life
and didn't contact her family,
didn't let anybody know she was okay.
But there were no signs that she was like taken or anything.
Right, nothing.
And it was a fight.
She just ran off.
But then she never had to sign in anywhere.
That's my point.
And that also means that the cops just stopped investigating it
because, I mean, they would see that she's like getting a job somewhere.
Yeah, she doesn't have to make money.
Right.
Unless she's living under a different name.
And I don't think that was happening.
That's my point.
She was just living as herself, I think.
No one ever said, hey, she just went to Walgreens.
Right.
Hey, Chuck, get over to the corner, happy and healthy.
I think we got who over there.
She's in Padre for spring break.
Yes.
There she is.
The pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks is back today.
If you're a big PSL.
That's the symbol for it.
That's a sign.
I'm more of a, I just get a normal latte,
but I do like that pumpkin spice cold foam cream stuff that you put on top.
That's the best.
The pumpkin spice.
Late back, tying the record
for the earliest it's debuted.
It also returned August 24th two years ago.
It's a big year for PSL, the 20th anniversary.
They started selling it in 2003.
Oh, I watched this next video on TikTok
as a seven-parter about the teacher that was
drunk at school. I did too. Oh, man.
You watched all seven parts. I felt terrible for her
too. Me too, man. I thought I was going to watch
watch and be mad at her.
But I...
Let me read you the story because the headline makes you go
no way
this woman should be around kids. I can't believe she
show up to school drunk.
But I'll watch all seven parts on TikTok last night.
A third grade teacher has been arrested for being drunk on the job after staff pulled her out of her classroom,
asking her to explain why that she had a cup allegedly filled with wine.
And they didn't happen until way, way, way later, by the way.
It wasn't that easy.
They didn't, so.
They said she was acting different.
Yeah.
So Kimberly Coates 53 was teaching her class at Perkins, Triun Intermediate School in Oklahoma
when she was taken out of her classroom on the first day of term to meet with the school superintendent and police officer.
very drawn out.
They put the whole video on TikTok
and they gave her a breathalyzer.
She said, no, I haven't had anything to drink.
And then later on, she admitted.
And so I watched it
and I'm going to play you a clip of it
and give you my thoughts.
Here's the superintendent
and the police officer questioning her.
Okay, I drank on the way to work.
I'm glad that you told us that.
Okay, no more games, right?
Yeah.
Other than that.
My juice?
That layer is wine.
I thought that was for me.
Yesterday.
Did you drink it up here yesterday?
Uh, well, I was, I'm home.
So it starts, and the very first video, they pull her in, and she's like, you know, I do take medication.
Because I'm like, are you on something?
She's like, I do take medication for depression.
And then it slowly starts to unwind, and she had had stuff to drink, but just watching the video, having had a family full of addicts and alcoholics.
she's struggling more than she came in just drunk partying.
And I was watching it and I really wanted to be angry,
but instead I just felt like somebody needs to get her help
and not make her a bad guy.
Except what we need to do is get her help, let her be helped,
and then her come back and actually be hope for other people
that are going through it.
Instead of just going, you're bad, you're out.
and I don't know if it's me with what I've experienced in my life with addiction and alcoholism that makes me feel that way.
But about video three, I just started feeling really bad for her.
And yes, she needs to be punished in the way that is according to the rules.
But I don't think she should lose everything for it because I don't think she was doing it for any other reason other than to whatever she was going through to soften that a bit.
It stinks.
I hated it.
I thought I was going to come in here fired up.
Yeah.
Be like, she was drunk at school.
She went out to the bar last night.
It wasn't that at all.
I hadn't seen it or heard about it, but just based on what you're telling you and hearing that clip and knowing, yeah, hopefully this is her, her rock bottom.
Don't know.
And it sucks.
It's out there, too.
The whole thing.
The whole thing.
I mean, that's, and yeah.
I said that, but I watched it all.
Me too.
What did you think about it?
The part that got me was when they asked, they asked her if she has a drinking problem.
She says, unfortunately, yes, I do.
Like, I drink every day.
And it took a bit to get there, like five, five.
full videos. Yeah. And then they just kept
going, attacking her, attacking her. And she's just like,
I don't know what you want me to say anymore. Like, and then they
cuffed her and it was really tough. And she starts crying
when they cut when they cuffed her. Oh, and they did the
breathalyzer. Did you watch it? Yeah, and they said,
oh, you blew a point two four.
And she goes, I don't know what that means.
Three times. Three times like a limit. Yeah.
It was like, whoa.
So, I don't know what. But why do they put that out there?
That's my question.
Cop body cam maybe. I think that's what it was. The cop's
body cam. I think anybody could have requested
it. Oh, that's why. So I don't, and
It's a national story.
If it's a story, even on the state level,
someone's probably going to request it.
Maybe they did.
So they probably got it that way.
I guess you say it was the first day back?
Yeah.
I believe so, yeah.
I mean, and just I'm thinking of parents
and even what you're saying
and kids about compassion
and trying to understand
that this is from what we can tell
at this point, addiction.
And just be thankful nobody got hurt
and then hope she gets the help that she needs
instead of being angry.
What talent is this?
near?
You guys do you know.
Perkins Police Department
and the school is
Perkins
trying intermediate school.
Like what is that near?
Because usually it's in Oklahoma,
so I'm very familiar with.
Things are mostly near
Tulsa or Oklahoma City.
Like most things are suburbs of that.
Who is the two biggest cities?
Zoom out.
I like he says it out loud.
It's right by a Sonic and a...
Oh, it's right near.
It's a Sonic.
Simaron Casino.
Zoom out.
Zoom out.
Like it's near Oklahoma City?
Looks like it's right.
Well, I hope that we have a lot of listeners in this area, which is why I ask.
I hope that she gets a lot of support.
Close to Stillwater.
And I hope she gets a lot of grace.
And she's probably humiliated, which I would be too.
And she made a bad decision, but that bad decision was affected by many other things.
And what is your name?
Kimberly Coates.
Kimberly, if you need help, like, let me know if it's like going to somewhere,
I can definitely help you out there
if you want to try to get in touch with me.
I felt real bad.
It's so funny. I just felt the same way too.
Well, I think that
this being out there is horrible, but her
experiencing that, I hate
that it's on TikTok, but
that needed to happen. Maybe this is the thing
that finally gets her there and saves
her life, like getting
cops being rough like that
are trying to get to the truth because of course
you're going to lie, lie, lie,
like, okay, fine, yeah, I've been doing.
And to be fair, they just thought it was a
drunk teacher like I did at first.
Right.
But I'll move on from that.
But if you need help,
get in touch with me somehow.
That's all.
Police arrested a 10-year-old for peeing behind his mom's car.
Did you got to see this one?
He got a...
What?
Yeah.
He can't do that?
On August 10th, Latanya Easton stopped by an attorney's office
in Mississippi for some legal advice.
Her two children, a daughter, and her 10-year-old son,
waited in the car while she was in the office.
At some point, he needed to use the bathroom.
So he got out,
pee behind it. At the same time, police officer was passing by, caught the kid peeing behind the car.
So, officer showed up, including a lieutenant, who said that the kid had to be arrested and taken
to jail for peeing. That's got to be a joke. That's not. It's not. Like, how can, like, that's just
what you teach boys. Hey, you can go pee. Yeah. Jalupnick.com. I don't know how you say that.
And 10 year old, you can get arrested at 10 years old? Yes, but again, a lot of people are going,
because of the black kid.
That was my first thought
Yeah, no, yes
I mean that's
Dang dang dang
Unfortunately
So
If it was a white kid
Pee in a car
Or they just let them go
Probably
That's what sucks about that
Yeah I got to Tate
When I was 22 for peeing in a
22
Restaurant parking lot
Was it daytime?
No no it was nighttime
Why in a restaurant park
Was there people there
Yeah we just left the restaurant
And then we were
So it wasn't like an empty parking lot
At 2 a.m.
No, no no
Okay
Had you been drinking?
Yeah. Okay.
Yeah.
So you think it was drunk in public more than peeing?
No, no, no, no. I guess they hire security, and he was an off-duty cop, and he gets out of the car.
He's like, what are you doing, man? I'm like, oh, crap.
He turns a peas on him.
I don't know.
I'm like, you know, it's my birthday.
He's like, I mean, let's have a seat over here.
Let's think about this.
And you talked to me about it, and then luckily he didn't give me a ticket.
He goes, go ahead and go enjoy your birthday.
Oh, so you didn't get arrested.
But I got detained.
You had a talk.
Oh, my God.
That's not really detained.
You got given a motivational speech.
Man.
Well, have you peed and outside?
Oh, yeah.
Like, Sixth Street, dude, like when you're hammered at 3 a.m.
and there's no one that's open, you got to go in the alley.
Oh, okay.
No, but I get it.
At least you're in an alley.
And sometimes there's cops on horseback that see the steam coming off the cement,
and they go, what are you doing?
Nothing, man.
Pro wrestling legend, Terry Funk passed away after a battle with dementia and other issues.
He was 79.
I remember Terry Funk.
I was a big wrestling fan.
Terry Funk and Rick Flair and the I quit match was awesome when I was a kid.
Rest in peace, Terry Funk.
And then finally in the news, eating lots of fast food causes mental health crisis in teens.
New research is showing a connection between the consumption of fast food and teenagers and elevated mental health issues.
The study found teenagers to eat large amounts of fast food are 14% more likely to experience a mental health crisis.
Researchers looked at the mental health of individuals who ate large amounts of fast food between 13 and 17 years old.
So as from Science Direct, I would bet there are more factors than just the
food that surround people that go get fast food.
Well, sometimes there's certain chemicals.
Like, my friend just eliminated per a doctor for her kid that was having some behavior.
She used red six or something added.
That's not even what you're eating.
If you're going to eat a lot of fast food, think about you have parents with you a lot.
Are you, yeah.
Okay.
It's a lifestyle.
Cultural, yeah.
I mean, I ate a lot of fast food as a kid.
There weren't a lot of parents around.
So a lot of times I had to go spend three bucks and get all the fast food I could eat.
just it's I'm sure
connected to a lot of other things. That makes sense.
I just read six, but I'm sure red six is something.
She said they've eliminated it for three weeks
and she already sees a change. But again,
everybody's chemical makeup is different.
When we were kids, we were told don't drink Mountain Duke's
that yellow five make your wiener smaller.
Yellow five? Yeah. It was a chemical in Mountain Dew.
It is. Yeah. You drink Yellow Five makes your weiner smaller.
I stopped drinking Mountain Dew for like two days.
But then I was like, that's fine. I'll take a smaller weiner. I love Mountain Duke.
So is it true?
I probably.
All right. All right. That's the news.
A win is a win.
A win is a win.
I don't care what you're saying.

There's two golden rules
that any man should live by.
Rule one, never mess with a country girl.
You play stupid games,
you get stupid prizes.
And rule two,
never mess with her friends either.
We always say that
trust your girlfriends.
I'm Anna Sinfield.
And in this new season
of the girlfriends,
oh my God, this is the same man.

I'm Igor, Water.
guest, you know from Step Brothers Anchorman, Saturday Night Live, and the Big Money Players Network.
It's Will Ferrell.
Woo.
Woo.
My dad gave me the best advice ever.
I went and had lunch with them one day, and I was like, and Dad, I think I want to really
give this a shot.
I don't know what that means, but I just know the groundlings.
I'm working my way up through, and I know it's a place that come look for up-and-coming talent.
He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you.
which is really sweet.
He goes, but there's so much luck involved.
And he's like, just give it a shot.
He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall
and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit.
If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration.
It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat, just hang in there.
Yeah, it would not be.
Right, it wouldn't be that.
There's a lot of luck.
Listen to Thanks Dad on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Amy, when you hear an athlete and the athlete decides to play a game instead of being at the birth of their child, what is your reaction?
What do you feel?
I feel like that's probably something in his significant other spouse, whoever he's having the baby with, decided on beforehand that that was going to be okay.
I don't know what I would decide in that position, but you have a responsibility.
Like I know plenty of people.
Now, military is very different from pro sports, for sure.
But I don't know, because you compare the two of like, hey, this is my job.
People are relying on me to show up.
There's other people's livelihoods that depend on me doing this and I want to be there.
I know plenty of people that don't get to get home because of work because of or don't get to get to the hospital or whatever because of their job.
If you're in the military, do you get to go home if you're deployed?
Of course they try to make that happen, but it doesn't.
But they let it.
Right.
Sometimes if it's like, she's going.
You can't get back in time, but they do try to let you get back.
When my experience with the Air Force, yes, they would try, but it didn't always happen.
Eddie, if you were going to go out.
So dumb.
Dude, my wife would kill me.
Like, I would, like, be so upset at myself.
Like, it's a career.
It's a job.
All that stuff.
Like, that could, the most important things in life are your children when you have them.
You want to be there for these moments.
Their birth, their birthdays.
I've missed.
I don't know if I missed a birthday
Maybe I've missed one birthday
But it was something where just like
Oh man, I'll make it up to you when I get back
But these are important days that you do not want to miss
That's crazy that people miss it for a sport and a minute
Why is there an athlete?
Yes
I wanted to get you guys's opinions before
It's affected by the story
Okay
Jason Day's wife
Jason Day is a professional golfer
Oh, okay
And so she is expecting
I don't know that's not a team sport
There's not
But it's even
It's him
It's just him
So but yes I agree
Yes. So just listen to it all here.
Her name's Ellie Day. She's expecting her fifth child.
I know what you're thinking. Does that have it?
It's the fifth? No, it's a different child. Okay. I'm just asking here.
I'm the youngest of four and sometimes, honestly, when you're that far down the line, you just kind of feel like you're a, ah, who cares?
And also, exactly. Also, the dad Jason must lie and say he was there. It's not like we need to see proof.
It's not like, where is he? Where is he? Let me see him. Is it here?
Yeah. So, but I'm not, I'm just playing devil's advocate here.
So the tour championship event is in Atlanta.
He's from Australia.
Oh, okay.
And she's like, just go play.
And if I have the baby, have the baby, don't try to rush home because it's so far away.
Right.
So if that's the deal they've made, then she has to truly mean that.
He missed his first kid because of golf in 2012.
Sounds like he has priorities mixed up.
Well, but if he misses two and he's there for three, it sounds like that one, one being there for the kids.
Yeah, he's got to make money to pay for that kid.
Oh, he's got money.
Yeah, he's got a lot.
if I get out of the money.
I just wondered what you thought about it.
It's from the New York Post.
I don't know.
I'm torn.
I really think it's up to the couple
and whatever they decide.
And as for me personally,
I have no idea what I would do.
Kids are weird, I hear.
Weird and tough.
Because the mom has no choice.
She has to be there.
She has to put her life on hold.
Yeah, that's kind of how it works.
Right.
Yes, that's that works.
What's up?
Speaking of, I don't know
how much you want to talk about this,
but name change.
Can I just say that?
Yeah.
Do you want to talk about that or no?
Well, no, we can because I just think,
did other teenagers go through this?
I never experienced wanting to change my name,
but mine of my kids is...
Yeah, keep it like that.
Only at school, though.
Not at home?
Not at home.
No, it's literally only at school.
And I only sort of really overheard that it was happening.
And then I knew it was for real, for real,
when I got an email because I had paid dues for something like a club.
And so it's not like a teacher, teacher that has like a class,
you know, where they have,
they would probably know the child's name.
And I was like, oh, I paid the dues.
for this kid and they're like, oh, no.
Oh, oh, you're talking about.
And I'm like, what?
That's not their name?
But yes.
Can a kid just change their name at school and say I'd like to be called?
Let's say if I was in eighth grade and I'm like, screw it, I want to be known as Rick.
Mm-hmm.
I think you can say, yes, that is my name.
I identify as Rick.
Can you call me?
Do, da-da, I did.
I talked to my friend last night.
That was a teacher for a long time.
And she said that she taught lower grades where parents would fill
lot forms for them like hey my name is or my child's name is bobby but he loves to be called
bob like nickname or whatever but at in high school or later in middle school or whatever maybe
they give them their own thing like hey this is your name do you have anything else you like to go by
can you change it anytime and i i hope so i don't i don't know let me just say but there's anybody
out if their parents out there whose kids went through this little struggle of changing their name
and they fought for it and not legally but they're like i just want to be known right
is Herman.
And I'm trying to be supportive.
Like, I don't want to dismiss whatever is happening
because I also don't want to overthink it
because this could go away in three weeks.
But the name is...
Yeah, don't say the name.
I know the name.
And it's tough.
It's tough.
It's tough.
So call us if you have a story about this.
877, 77 Bobby.
We were doing the post show yesterday, I think.
I just don't let people know.
That's on me.
We were eating yesterday during the post show.
Oh, what happened?
Well, no, people were just complaining.
But this is what we do a shit
It was like noon yesterday
And we go on we do a whole second show on the podcast
And we had ordered a bunch of these
Buffalo chicken dip bites from Sonic
And they come and they're like
They look like
Whenever you go to a Chinese restaurant
A pot sticker
One pot sticker
But it's like Sonic
And there's buffalo chicken in them
And they're awesome
And so we had them in the bags
We're crunching and we're eating
Well actually the first thing you said was
Amy how much can I pay you
to drink that whole bottle or the tub of ranch.
We don't need to talk about how juvenile some of you guys are.
Some of you guys.
And then she wouldn't do it.
I'm glad I did it.
I'll drink three.
How much?
20 bucks.
Well,
and like,
no,
you volunteered.
It's not fun if you want to do it.
Yeah.
But we were eating,
but we started eating before the microphones went on.
These buffalo chicken dip bites from Sonic.
They're so good.
You can get them now,
$2.99 to let everybody know.
So they can also,
when they record their podcast,
they can eat them.
They're awesome.
They're awesome.
So that's what's up.
So I'm sorry.
Post show us.
this show, we just go and if something happens, it happens.
But the Sonic's new Buffalo chicken dip bites,
they're awesome, creamy on the outside.
No, crispy on the outside, creamy goodness on the inside.
There you go.
Let's go to Melissa in St. Petersburg.
Melissa, you're on the Bobby Bone Show.
What's going on?
So I wanted to comment on the name change.
Yes.
When I was a senior, when I started my senior year,
someone called me an unkind name that rhymes with Missy,
that begins with a P.
And at that point, I was like, I'm done,
and I made everyone for calling me Melissa.
And yes, it did cause quite a little stir.
And to this day, I'm Melissa.
I will say that many of my parents' friends
still call me Nissy,
and I will allow them that.
And a group of, you know, like childhood friends
will still call me the C.
However, no, it's Melissa.
Is Melissa your birth name?
Melissa is the name on my birth certificate.
Right.
It was never, ever used.
Got it.
Ever.
I mean, listen, it'd be tough.
Pissy messy would be tough.
That'd be tough.
I mean, I was Bobby.
I was, I mean, there was a lot.
It's almost like when you name kids,
you should really try to just troll them as much as you can before they exist.
Yeah.
Just to see where other kids could go.
Like, where's the weakness?
Like, find the vulnerability.
So, I'd stink.
Well, I appreciate you calling.
I'm sure that it's traumatic.
I'd have been Melissa, too.
Jessica, let's go over to you.
Jessica, you are on the show.
Good morning, Jessica.
Good morning, studio.
Morning.
Hey, so I just wanted to give some advice
about the name change.
I have a daughter.
Her name was Alexa.
That's what we named her
before the Alexa existed.
Yeah, tough.
And when she got into middle school,
she just kept getting teased.
They kept asking her a thousand questions.
Alexa, what's the temperature outside?
Alexa, can you turn the lights off?
That's funny.
I hate it for her, but hilarious.
Go ahead.
Yeah, so after a couple years, she's like, Mom, I can't.
I've heard the same jokes a thousand times.
Every time I meet someone new, it's the same joke.
I want to pick a different name just to use at school.
So I thought about it, and I said, okay, fine, pick a name.
So she chose the name Robin.
I don't know how or why, but that's the name she liked, and she goes by that at school.
And she has for years.
Wow, that's quite the change.
They don't even, Missy and Melissa, it's like, okay, I'm Bobby.
I don't want to do this.
I want to be Robert.
But Robert's not my name, but you would understand between the two.
They kind of go together.
One's a nickname for another.
But Robin from Alexa is quite the shift where everybody's like, what?
Your name is what?
So how did that go at school and did it take?
It did.
Well, luckily she transferred from middle school to high school.
So she ended up being involved with a new group.
And so she said, yes, my name's Alexa, but I go by Robin.
And everyone was great and called her Robin.
Now she just enrolled in college and started last week at Chattanooga.
And she goes by Robin and everyone knows her by Robin.
And so I just have to remember when I'm around her college roommate, use Robin at home.
She still goes by Alexa.
It's just unfortunate that that happened where that Alexa started existing because anybody named that, it's a great name.
Alexa's a great name.
But it's a great name that is now synonymous with everybody asking a piece of technical equipment, a question.
You know, my cousin Siri struggled with that.
Yeah, what she switched to.
Blue Jay.
That's much better.
Apparently, you go to a bird name immediately.
That's great. And you shouldn't feel any guilt for that because Alexa is a cool name.
It's just, I can't believe that that happened. And thank you for sharing your story.
Jessica, we really appreciate that.
Thanks all you guys. You guys are wonderful.
Thank you. Have a great day.
That's tough.
See, I could get behind Robin. I could get behind that.
Yeah, but then you know what I would do? How are you rocking over there, huh?
Rocking Robin. Tweet. Tweet.
Or where's Batman?
Oh, yeah. Hey, excuse me, have you seen Batman?
Huh?
Batman Robbin.
There's almost not a name that's fully bulletproof.
Eddie?
spaghetti.
They used to call me Eddie Munster.
Eddie, okay.
I mean, I still call him Eddie spaghetti, but that's not a put-down.
That's just rhyme.
What was the worst thing they said about your name?
Are you ready, Eddie?
Like, I have nothing.
Okay, that's okay.
That's okay.
You, Amy, Lamy, Amy?
Famous Amos.
Your name's not Amos.
But I don't know.
That's what they called me.
Famous Amos?
Or Little Miss Muppet said on her tuffet?
Because your main name is Moffat.
No lamey amy?
Oh, lamey?
No, not till now.
Not until now she gets bullied by us.
Oh, sad.
Thank you guys for all the calls.
Bobby Bones Show.
Boney up the day.
This story comes us from Arkansas.
A 24-year-old man
had warrants for his arrest in Georgia
and he's like, man, I really want to be a police officer.
So he applied for a job in Arkansas
with the police. They did a background check.
They're like, this can't be real.
He has warrants.
So they said, hey, man, come on in, do the physical test.
So he showed up at the track, ran a couple miles, some sprints.
They made him run first.
That's hilarious.
They let him do the physical part of the training, and then they arrested him.
Did he pass?
Didn't say.
He was a good cop.
The fact that they still let him go through with the physical stuff,
like, it's their own little private joke.
This guy has no idea he's about to get arrested.
That's funny.
Okay.
I'm Lunchbox.
That's your Bonehead Story of the Day.
All right, let's talk about a movie here.
And now movie Mike's movie minutes.
What'd you watch?
I watched Blue Beetle.
It's the new DC superhero movie.
Never heard of it.
It's the first Mexican superhero ever.
Let's go.
DC, that's not Avengers.
No, that's like Suicide Squad, Batman, Superman,
the ones that are kind of historically bad.
The movies.
Yeah, you're right.
Although Dark Night was awesome.
Does that not count?
Not really.
It's in an Elseworld.
They don't really connect with all the other ones.
I hate El Swirlsworld.
Yeah.
I hate Elswole.
I hate El Swirl.
Stupid El Swirl.
So what is Blue Beetle's superpower?
He gets like this alien scarab takes over his body,
and it kind of turns him into like an Iron Man,
like an Ant Man type character.
Is he related to Herbie the Love Bug by any chance?
No, I don't think so.
Do you know Herbie the Love Bug?
Do not, but I don't think they're related.
That's the race car driver?
Oh my gosh, the car?
Herbie fully loaded?
That was like the sequel.
I need to have a movie talk with Mike.
I've seen the Lindsay Lohan one.
I believe Herbie Fully Loaded is a sequel,
a far down sequel from Herbie the Lovebug.
Got it.
Which is old and crappy, but awesome.
I don't know.
Watch it.
Yeah.
So the Blue Beetle, the first Mexican superhero.
Is this the preview where it's like a young dude and all of a sudden his body gets like taken over and he has something in his back?
Yeah, that's one.
I saw that.
It looked pretty weird but good.
Yeah, George Lopez and he's funny.
And for the first time, I just saw Mexicans represented in a way that, like, that's my family.
Like the dad very much reminded me of my dad, even the main kid.
Like, that was me.
He was the first one in his family to go to college and grab.
graduate, that's me.
All jokes aside, isn't representation really cool when it's at a level that not only can
you experience it, but other people can see a bit of what you're about?
Yeah, it was awesome.
Even like the jokes, they used a lot of Spanish throughout, which is hard to do.
Like, sometimes there's not even subtitles, so they really committed to that.
With the music in it, they were playing like Selena.
I was like, that's my music in this movie.
You sound like you're getting emotional here.
Yeah.
Did you get emotional at the movie?
I did.
For the first time ever, I cried in a movie.
Ever?
First time ever?
First time ever. I've wanted to before.
Movie mics never cried at a movie?
Never. I've gotten to the point and I've wanted to.
But the first time, his relationship with his dad, I saw the relationship with me and my dad.
And I've just been having all these things lately going through my head.
And in that scene, I was like, man, I just lost it.
And then throughout the rest of the movie, every time their relationship came back up, I kept losing it.
That's really cool.
It was weird.
Good for you that you could get there.
Also, side note, you didn't cry during showgirls?
That you had to watch it.
I cried when it was over.
Oh, yeah.
I was like, why did I spend time doing that?
So, is this out to the general public?
Yeah, it's out in theaters.
Jen Popkin, watch it now?
Yeah.
Blue Beetle, what do you give it?
With my Mexican bias, I give it 4.5 at an alien scarabs.
Wow.
What would a green goat like me rate it?
You'd probably give it a three.
Just because he doesn't connect?
Yeah.
Hold on.
You got a lot of Mexican friends, man.
Yeah.
So I would probably, if we're basing it on that, give it a 3.5.
I've never seen it.
I'm fighting for my review.
Yeah, 3.5 at best.
I just feel like a lot of it is the connection with the character.
But what about the dad and the sun thing?
That would probably make me emotional because I never had that.
So I'd be like, oh.
That part of it too.
But some of it, like in the beginning, it's a little bit cheesy.
You got to get past it.
If you can look past that, you'll really enjoy it.
Mike made us go watch Fast and the Furious 47,
9, 9, whatever it was.
And I guess I missed Fast and the Furious 2 through 8.
So I guess I didn't know how cheesy they got on purpose.
And so we're watching Fast and the Furious.
And I'm like, none of this stuff can really happen.
And I look over at Mike and he's like a possum eating crap, just loving it.
I love those movies.
And so is it like that cheesy?
No, not that cheesy.
It's not that over the top.
No, obviously someone can turn into a super bug.
Yeah, I know.
But that stuff I'm okay with is mostly like the situations of the super bug.
But I'm like, that's not believable.
That's like when I took my dad to see Star Wars and he like did a flip.
He's like, yeah, right.
Exactly.
I'm like, out of the whole movie.
I'm with your dad on that.
Make the easy stuff.
You're going to make the hard stuff hard.
I'm okay with that.
Kids will like it too.
Oh, kids will love it.
Okay.
Bad words?
No.
No, no bad words.
What's it rated?
PG-13.
Nice.
All right, Mikey, thank you.
You're welcome.
Blue Beetle, he gives it four and a half alien cervixes.
What?
What's a scarab?
It's like this alien relic.
That's the thing that takes over his body.
I thought he was on a cervix.
Okay.
All right, that's it.
Thank you, you guys.
I hope you have a great day.
Tomorrow, Old Crow, Medicine Show, in studio performing, which is pretty cool.
I'll be in Vegas September 9th doing my comedically inspirational show.
I'd love for you to come to that.
Otherwise, there's a new podcast.
Four things with Amy Brown up today.
Amy, what do you got?
Yes.
Well, I just feel like anybody that has been told no a lot of times,
just know that a yes is around the corner.
In certain situations.
Well, in certain situations.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
In knowing your worth and maybe trying to figure out what you're going to do,
just I have a story of hope and just relatability.
And so you kind of have to, you have to surrender.
We walk through some things.
I surrender. Yeah.
I surrender.
But not everything.
If you get told knowing something, just no is no.
Right.
Absolutely.
Yes, it's making sure.
Thank you for helping me clarify.
You're welcome.
All right, Bobbybones.com.
Four things with Amy Brown.
Thank you guys.
We'll see you tomorrow.
Bye, everybody.
A win is a win.
A win.
I don't care what I'm saying.
