Come on, Bobby.
We're back from vacation.
Let's go. Holy crap, scared me. I'm a little rusty. I know Let's go was going to come out of the thing.
We're back. We've been gone for a couple weeks. We're super pumped to be back. Happy New Year, everybody.
Happy New Year. Morning, studio. Morning.
All right, so here's the get-to-know question. We used to do this on a Monday, but I feel like we've been gone so long.
You cannot pick the 90s, okay? What decade of music, period? If you only could listen to one decade of music for the rest of your life, what decade would it come from? Any decade, period.
No 90s. No 90s, because that's the easy softball.
Yeah.
Eddie. 50s. Do up. 50s do up.
You got like the drifters, you got the temptations, that kind of stuff.
The 1950s, Richie Valens.
Dude, I love that stuff.
Even if it's like a regular day, I do 50s playlists all the time.
I love it.
The funny thing is we were with Eddie and his wife, and she was complaining by no prompt of me that Eddie
watches black and white movies all the time.
I heard her say that.
She was like, he won't stop watching stupid black and white movies.
It's all the time.
Her problem with it, though, is that I turn it on when we go to bed,
and she's always the one that has to turn it off because I fall asleep after like 20 minutes.
Got it.
Yeah.
Lunchbox?
A decade of music.
When?
Geez, I have no idea.
Let's go.
I mean, I guess maybe 2000s.
I don't know.
Why would you make that?
Like M&M?
M&M was still good then.
Music night specialty here
We'll put you in a bad spot out
Yeah Jay Z I think it was around
Still putting out music
Still is putting out music, go ahead
I don't know if Bruno Mars was around then
Yeah 2000s
Yeah, baby
Yeah man
Okay, that's probably yeah
It's 2008 would have been counted
Yeah
Black eyed peas
You like Black IP?
Yeah
I do
Yeah
I'm gonna be I'm a be
I'm a be on the next trip
Yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah
Yeah that's it
For Jay Z Eminem and the Black iPys
Okay
I didn't say anything about the black IP
Yeah you did
And Nora Jones
Amy.
I'll throw a nod to the decade I was born in.
I'll go 80s.
Okay.
That's still good to me.
I mean, it's close to the 90s, some of the same artists.
George Strait, my favorite has some good from the 80s.
I take the 60s because you've got a blend of a little bit of that old school,
but then getting it into the 70s as well.
Because you got stuff like Crete's Clearwater Revival, the Rolling Stones.
And you got the Beatles in the 60s.
You got the Beatles for sure.
You got James Brown, too, in the early 60s.
Get back.
that thing. Simon and Garfunkel, so singer-songwriter
things really taken off. Dang, dude. I'd probably
go 60s, the
doors, like all that's
cool and is the foundation of everything now
pretty much. I mean, I guess
it all is, but I'm going
Jimmy Hendricks.
60s. 60s. So I'm going
the 60s. That's a good one. Yeah. Pick
one artist from your decade. Hold on, hold on. Okay.
Pick one artist from your decade. Go.
50s Elvis.
It's good. See ya. I'd probably gone to Buddy Holly,
but Elvis makes sense. Elvis.
Lunchbox 2000s?
M&M.
Amy?
Gosh, I mean, I already shouted out to George Strait.
You can.
That's good.
That's good.
Okay, George Strait.
But there's some...
I'd probably go CCR.
Just so many...
I love that band.
What's your favorite CCR song?
Who'll stop the rain?
No, it just depends.
Like, if I'm in like that vibey mood,
I'll take a run through the jungle,
boom, boom, boom, boom.
If I'm like, hit amy, hit amy,
hit amy, I ain't no fortunate son.
know, but probably, I don't know,
bad moon rising is really good.
There's a bad moon on the right.
But if I had to pick one,
that's what they're saying?
There's a bad moon on the rise.
Yeah.
Did you think bathroom on the right?
I don't, I don't really know,
but I didn't know it was bad, bad moon.
On the rise.
But I want to know.
Have you ever seen the rain?
That's a good one.
That's a good one.
But I'd probably go.
Do do do
Looking out my back door
Maybe
I don't know that one
Proud Mary
You know they wrote
Yeah
That's not Tina
That's John Fogarty
That's famous because of Tina
She has a version of it
Oh you know what's cool too
Oh Susie Q
Boom
Boom boom boom boom boom
Whoa Susie Q
Oh Susa Q
Baby I love you
Susie Q
Man, they have so many good ones.
So, yeah, whatever.
Statue wearing high heels.
Look at all that, people dancing on a long.
Yeah.
But the first ever raging idiot song ever in my high school,
that was the version of the band,
we played a CCR song.
That one, out your back door, right?
We did Willie and the Gup bass.
Yeah.
Now, it's not the same song.
It is, isn't it?
Yeah, if you got a nickel, what is it?
Snap your feet.
No, if you're happy and you know it, clap your hands.
It's a nickel on the, slap your feet.
circle. It's like someone playing
on the street. It's the whole point
of the song. And you even try to make us learn it and I was like
dude, that song's hard. Oh, to play the song?
Yeah. Like early raging it is.
It's not. It's down on the corner. Down on the corner
out of the street. Willie and the poor boys are playing
bring a nickel, tap your feet. That's what I'm saying, dude.
That's a different song. Grab your nickel, tap your feet.
Yeah. All right, anyway, we're done. All right. We haven't
walking out this early in a while. We're a little drunk.
Not off of alcohol, off of lack of sleep.
That's what it is. All right. Let's get the show.
started. Let's open up the mailbag. You send an email and we read it on the air. It's something
we call Bobby's mailbag. Yeah. Hello, Bobby. My ex and I split a year and a half ago,
but it was on relatively good terms. We were living together. She asked if I could keep some of her
stuff while she figured things out. 18 months later, that stuff is taking up an entire bedroom,
and I'm wondering how long is enough for someone to, quote, figure things out. I've called her and
got no response. At what point is it within my rights to run a truck and put it on her driveway
or donate it to goodwill? Signed, ex-girlfriend storage. That's an interesting question.
I think if you've called her, this is what I do. And I would make a note of it. I would reflect it
by recording it. I would say, hey, record me while I make this call. I'd have Eddie record me.
And I'd be like, Amy, I have all your stuff here. 18 months ago, you told me to keep it for you,
I have it here. I need to get rid of it because moving or whatever reason it is. But in the next 14 days,
I'm going to need you to come get it, or I'm going to donate it.
The date is blank.
Hold a new paper up, something like that, prove the date.
And thank you.
God bless.
So it's out the video.
That way, whenever she gets mad because I donate all the stuff and she tries to sue me or something,
I got this video to take the court.
Yeah, you have a record.
Yeah.
And I would also say, I'm recording this video in case you take me to court.
And that really get her going.
That's sweet and all that you're going to donate it, but can you sell it after all that's done?
Well, you can do whatever you want after you do that.
That's what I thought about.
You just say, after 14 days, it's yours.
So that is what I would do
But I think that would make her get up off her bike
Come get the stuff
If you show her you are serious about it
And you're making a record of when you make the call
Because you want to have it on record
When you give it away
That's what I would do
I wouldn't just trash it
I wouldn't just donate
Don't drop it in the driveway
Right but that's it
What do you think?
I think that I would do whatever I could
To say we really need to talk about this
Like I don't want to have to come up with a date
to remove this stuff.
So I'm willing to talk with you
like, do you need another month?
Give me one day.
I'm recording this.
One day to call me back.
Do you need two months?
How can I help you?
I don't go on that far.
It's X.
You've already waited.
What did they say?
18 months?
Yeah, forever.
I just feel like I would want to get one more chance.
You sure she's alive?
For a deadline.
A check on her.
Has she changed her number?
Exactly.
Is there any...
And if you can't get a hold of her,
that's on her.
I'd record the video.
You convinced me, Amy, that I'm right.
Well, I didn't say you were wrong.
I know.
But yours was so wrong, that felt me even more.
No, no, mine's just giving her another chance.
But he did, he called her already.
And she's had a lot of chances.
I know, I'm saying.
18 months of chances.
Call again.
Yeah, call again and then record the video and then goes.
You call again and say, I don't want to have to come up with a date, but I'm sort of left with no choice.
And then record it.
Man, I just remember when we moved here, what, 11 years ago, 10 years ago, I left my surfboard at my buddy's house.
And I always said, like, dude, one day I'll get it from you.
I wonder if he still has that.
That's him who sent him.
He just changed up a couple days.
He's one writing.
Yeah, yeah.
All right.
to close it up. We got your email and my email bag on the Bobby Bones show now.
Katie Offerman.
Katie, you know I'm a massive fan of yours.
Thank you.
It's good to have you back.
It's so good to be here.
I saw that you had opened up for George Strait for a couple nights.
Yes.
That's all just awesome.
Man, everything is downhill from here.
I realize.
I'm like, I thought Parker was cool.
I thought Ian was cool.
No, not anymore.
George is my man.
And you know what? You can tell Parker and Ian they're not cool compared to George Strait
and they would even accept that.
They would agree.
I mean, man, George is just a whole other category.
You know, to me, the people that I grew up loving, most of them are alive anymore,
but George is one that still is.
You know, I'm not saying that to age him, but like, you know, he's been around a long time.
He's been around, what, early 80s?
Yeah, I'd say, late 70s.
I'm talking about like, I'm alive, yes.
I don't know, but like, yeah.
You had songs in early 70s, late 70s.
So, and the reason, I guess I knew this is because you tagged me on a story,
and I was like, oh, that's really cool, Katie's.
I thought you just wanted me to see you were opening for George Strait.
No, you know, it was crazy because, you know,
so George and I met in a hair salon.
That's why when everybody gives me a hard time about paying money for hair,
I'm like, it does matter because you could get it,
you could end up opening for George.
He was in a hair salon?
Yeah, he was.
That's the funny thing.
And so when I was like 13, 14, you know,
I was at that point where I'm like, I'm going to get my first, like, little baby highlights,
you know, whatever.
So my mom's friend's wife was like, you know,
oh you got to take her to Kim and San Antonio she does George's hair at the time I'm like sold you know
when when and where and now looking back it's like what about George's hair was representative of
what I would want done with mine you know now I'd be like can we get on the Instagram and look you're
one connection away you know but I'm like George say no more and so anyway Kim had always said
give me your cell I didn't have her number and she's like let you know let me just keep it
in the back of my mind and George always
you know text me randomly and she's like I need a cut
you know and she's like one of these days
I'll try to link y'all up and I was like oh my god
I'd love that but I just figured it never happened you know I was like
14 and and so long story short I had played at the Saxon pub and
the night before playing fiddle with a buddy of mine
we would start playing at midnight every week and so by the time I got back
to new brothels you know it's like 3 o'clock in the morning
I'd sleep in so next morning I remember waking up on my futon
and looking at my phone and seeing some unknown text from a 2-10 number.
And I'm just like, I ain't got time for that.
So I put it back down.
And then around like 9.30, I look at the phone,
which makes me seem like I'd sleep in when I was little.
But, you know, those were tired days for me.
And I looked at it and it said,
can you be here for a hair mask at 10?
And it didn't say anything else.
Didn't mention George, didn't mention Kim.
That's it.
And I was like, oh, my God, it's Joel.
Oh, you felt it.
You know, that gut George feeling.
I get the gut George feeling every day.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I know.
And so I ran downstairs, you know, because my dad homeschooled me.
And so he was home and I was like, oh, my God, dad, we are meeting George.
Like, we got to go because we live a solid hour from the South Side of St. Antonio.
And I'm like, you know, I could have, we could have left earlier, but I didn't look at my phone.
And so I was like, we got to go now.
And I just wouldn't one of those girls that could, like, you know, throw in a hat and
go. Like I was like already feeling not great about the state of my self to meet George, you know.
I throw in some dressy and poo, little mascara, get it put on my boots and we, you know, my dad gases it.
So we're flying to San Antonio and we pull up and there's Kim's car. There's a random car and there's a
range rover. And I was like, God, man, maybe it's George. You know, I thought maybe he would have
dreamt a truck or something, a little more Texasy.
And so my dad's like, I'm just going to stay in the car.
You know, you just figure it out.
So I walk in.
How old are you?
14.
Okay, 14.
And she was playing, you were playing Saxon Pub at midnight?
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
My mom would take me get some parental control going on.
I also couldn't drive, you know.
Okay, so you're 14 and you walk in.
Yeah, so I walk in and, you know, and there's just no plan.
It's not like Kim said, okay, this is kind of the vibe.
No.
I have no idea what's going.
I don't know if I'm supposed to be like, yo, George is Katie?
Or just like, I don't see you.
Like, oh, God, what are you doing?
God, I didn't expect to see you, you know?
And so I'm like, I guess I don't know.
So I go up to the front.
There's like these kind of cool, vibey privacy beads.
It's a tiny little, you know, salon boutique kind of house.
And so there's bees that are making kind of some privacy between where you get your hair done and where the entrance is.
and so this girl at the front
her kind of assistant whatever receptionist
kind of dingy whatever
I'm like
hey I'm Katie you know I got a text
about a hair mask
I don't know what the vibe is but I see George
you know and I think it's about George
and she's like I have no idea
I'm like great
so you know I'm like all right
she's like you can have a seat I'm like
I'm running out of time lady
like you know George is going to be leaving
soon. So I sit down. You know, Kim sees me through the beads. I mean, nobody said anything to me,
you know? And so she's like, okay, are you ready for your hair mask? And so she takes me over.
It's a really tiny room. It's like, you know, three chairs in front of a mirror. And then there's
bubble dryer chairs, the old school kind of the dome, you know, facing the opposite way.
The plastic thing that comes on your head? Yes. That just fries you. And so I'm walking two inches
I'm grazing the back of George's neck, basically.
You know, Kim's there still.
She hasn't even said hello.
And we're in a tiny little room, smaller than the room we're in right now.
So I'm like, everybody's seen everybody.
And so I'm sitting in the dryer chair.
Nothing's happened at this point with my hair.
And I'm just sitting there chilling.
I'm like, okay, well, I'm facing George, facing the mirror.
I'm like, I'm just not going to make eye contact, you know, kind of I'm pretending I'm on my phone.
And so she's kind of getting.
getting towards the end a little bit.
And this chick comes up and she's like,
okay, I've got your hair mask.
She puts on the cape.
And she brings this thing, it looks like an icing piping filled with chicken fat.
And it's just like, okay, we're going to pull your hair up and just, you know,
just starts just all over my head, you know.
It looked like pus.
Sounds gross, but it's just chicken fat just coming all around my hair.
And then she razzed me with continuous cotton swabs and then puts a like a shower cap.
over my head. And it was like, I felt insecure before this. And now I would really just like to
die. You could also kind of save time by not putting on mascara and got, if you knew you were
going to get chicken fatted, I mean, when you walked in. Right. I could have just gone all natural.
You know? And so anyway, I got the bonnet. I got the cape. I got the deal. The oozing.
And so George gets up to pay. I'm honestly like, thank God. Like, not today. You know.
And then Kim comes out of nowhere. And he's like, you ready to me, George? I'm like,
like, not really, you know.
But I'm like, here we go.
Let's do it.
So she takes me up there and George, I end up talking about just music and life for like 30 minutes.
And the funny thing is, you know, I had told this story over the course of the past years of just like kind of manifesting something else with George.
I'm like, who else gets their hair done kind of with George?
And so, you know, 14 years-ish have gone by.
And I get a FaceTime from my agent at WME and was like, you know,
What are you doing?
Like, I don't know.
What are you doing?
She's like, well, I just wanted to see if you want to open up for George Strait at Dickies Arena.
Out of nowhere.
Out of nowhere for a couple nights.
And so at this point, you're like, God, I love to see W. Me putting in the work, you know?
And I'm thinking maybe that's the end of the story, you know?
So it's crazy because, you know, you were, you guys were pretty much the main.
reason looking back of why I got that gig, which I never expected, because I got a call.
I hadn't talked to Kim, mind you, because I made away when I was 16 to go to school.
You know, I hadn't been home.
I hadn't been getting my hair done there.
And so I hadn't talked to Kim in years.
And truth be told, I was getting an Asian massage.
I was getting some reflexology done.
I love them so much.
That's feet, right?
Yeah, it's whatever you want it to be.
Got it, got it.
But the feet, the feet.
the feet's where it's at
I was looking for my water here
so
I was unavailable
and I missed Kim's call
when I got out of there
I saw that Kim had called me from Meet Salon
and I was like
you know I'll be darned I haven't talked to her
in 14 years I was like
it's got to be something related to George
I texted her I was like this is Katie
like did you mean to call me
and she's like oh my gosh I've been
texting the wrong Katie
you know in my phone book
and she was like, it's about George, you know, call me tomorrow because I was heading to a show.
And so I call her the next day and she, you know, I said, is this about the shows?
And she was like, I didn't even know you got the shows.
She said, I was calling to tell you that I was driving in my car, you know, a couple weeks ago.
And she was like, you know, Bobby Bones, they were talking about you about new artists or something like that.
and he mentioned your name
and she was like,
I hadn't heard your name in a long time, you know,
and I didn't know if that was still you.
And she was like, I googled your name
and realized, you know, you had a record deal now.
You were still doing the thing.
You were, you know, playing music and doing well.
And she's like, I just couldn't believe it.
She's like, so I dove in your songs and started listening.
It was like, wow, like this is the same girl that 14 years ago,
you know, I did her hair and introduced her to George, whatever.
And she was like, you know, the next day,
George is playing on. I sold my salon.
You know, she said, and George comes over to my house in Bernie now.
And she's like, he came over the next day.
She's like, I just had this gut feeling.
And she just said, George, like, you know, do you remember this girl, Katie,
that had like a hair mask on that you made in the salon like 14 years ago?
And he was like, yeah, you know what I do?
Like, she gave me her CD that I casually had in the car, you know?
and she said, well, like, I just heard her on the Bobby Bone show.
Like, she's playing music.
Like, she's really doing it.
And she said, you know, you should have her on some shows sometime.
Kim said that.
Yeah, Kim said that.
Go Kim.
Yeah.
And how about George being loyal for 14 years of the same hairstylist?
Yeah, I know.
And how about Katie having the same cell phone number for 14 years?
Like, all the things are the same is awesome.
I know.
That's a good sign about people, you know?
and just kind of crazy.
And she just said that he said after that,
he's like, you know what's funny?
He's like, I'm actually heading to a thing with, you know,
his people that he kind of gets that stuff going with as far as the shows.
He's like, we're buttoning up a few things because I had a few open slots coming up
and we're trying to figure out support for that.
So he was like, all right.
And then we looked at our calendar and the day he came to her salon, you know,
I got the call like two, three days later.
about playing the shows.
And so I think it reminds you that there's really sweet, cool, full circle moments
that still exist in life, you know?
Yeah.
So I'm like, also I believe in manifestation because I relentlessly told that story.
It was like, one day, me and George, you know.
I always said that he would maybe be the bartender with some code ago in the background
on Don't Do it in Texas.
But I got to play with him instead.
How was the show?
I mean, when you, did you get to talk to him a few minutes?
before you went out, did you come say hello?
Or was it such a big deal?
You know, everything's so separated?
It's pretty separated.
I would say they run a pretty tight camp.
You know, it's pretty much like nobys in the hallway
when George's walking through like that kind of thing.
He did write me a really sweet note.
Oh, that's cool.
And sent it to me on our show poster,
which was really cool, something to frame.
It was just amazing.
You know, it was the first time I'd ever done a circle stage.
Now, you know, but where you're, George is singing a couple songs at every microphone.
So he's moving.
And there are people looking at you from every direction.
Yeah.
So it's like, you better do some squats before those kind of shows because it's a lot of attention to your backside, you know.
And it was just, it was cool because it felt more intimate.
And we're at Dickie's Arena.
And I'm playing there again with Parker on New Year's Eve.
And that's a forward-facing, you know, stage.
So I'll be curious to see how it feels then.
but with the roundabout thing, it felt so intimate because the people are right up next to you.
It's like I can almost look every single person in the eye, you know, all the way around except for the top row.
And that was really special.
So I'm just thankful.
Now I'm ready to do it again.
I'm like, George, when we're doing this again?
George.
George.
Where are you, George?
George, Kim.
God.
That's a really great story.
So, yeah.
So I'm, I mean, I never would have thought that she would be listened to the Bobby Bone show.
Or that there's George is still getting his hair.
They're cut from Kim.
I know.
I've not been that loyal to a hair person.
I mean, I'm going to be honest.
Even after she closes this line, he's like, okay, I'll go to your house and Bernie.
Yeah.
Big deal.
Commitment.
So, you know, but he's had his band for years and years of the same guys, you know,
and they've still got like their little music stand up and playing and they're just the best.
Like I think that says a lot about an artist and somebody, you know, still be with the same people all around.
I got to introduce Parker to George for the first time to.
You know, you guys grew up around the same spot, and all of us were in Texas forever.
Some of these guys were born there.
And so George Strait is just like the foundation.
He is.
Musically of that state.
That's super cool.
Have you met George?
Yeah.
Like have you all hung out?
Like what's your favorite George moment?
I think my favorite thing about George, we've probably met three times as far as like spend any time at all together.
Two work wise, one mutual friend type thing.
Yeah.
That he's not George Strait when he's not George Strait.
Right.
Nobody recognizes him.
Yeah, he was in like little boat shoes and a beach shirt when I met him.
He's just a dude.
And a baseball hat.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I think that's my favorite thing is that there's no like air of George Strait.
He's just another guy hanging out.
He doesn't want to be the George.
I have one of our friends played golf with them and they were doing karaoke in a bar after they had finished playing golf.
And the guy was singing George Strait songs.
Didn't know was George Strait in the bar.
Wow.
And then George Strait, he didn't even go up to it.
He didn't even be like, I'm George Strait.
None of that ever happened.
But the funny thing was that the guy had sang like two George Strait songs and never realized that George Strait was like a table away from him the whole time because George Strait was in golf clothes and a hat.
But I think that's probably the coolest thing.
He's just reserved and quiet and nice.
Norma, his wife is super sweet.
Bub is so nice.
You know, just like good people.
Amy, her uncle worked on Georgia's ranch when she was a kid.
Yeah.
I mean, until he retired.
Yeah.
And speaking about working for people forever, like when my uncle retired.
I mean, he lived out at the ranch and everything.
Wow.
So, yeah.
Was this at, what range was this?
In my...
South of Dill, wouldn't you're Dilly?
Well, my uncle, my dad, his family, they're from Dilly, but I don't know, was it
Potit or what's over there?
I don't know the different areas.
I went there as a kid and, of course, you know, took a, did a photo shoot at the front
gate with like the brand, like the G and the S.
And I'm like, Dad, take more picks.
And he's like, where's Kim?
I want to meet him.
Yeah, but George was there and we got up one morning to go down to where they were roping in
the morning. He'd wake up early. And we were in my uncle's house, like, getting ready,
my uncle's like, you got to get up. Like, now's the time to go. And I put on my George Strait
T-shirt. Oh, God. I don't know. It's probably eight, maybe. And we go down there and
it was like, it was dark out. The son hadn't even come up yet. And that was the first time
I met him. And so that was like really cool. But also, my dad was trying to be respectful of,
like, that's my uncle's job, you know, and he had worked for him for a long time. So then, of course,
when we moved to Nashville, one of the first people, we were at some event, and George was there,
and I marched straight up to him and was like, you know, hi.
I'm Ted Moffitt's niece, and he was like, well, I'll be, you know.
He's like, Ted Moffitt, can't believe it.
And so then we kind of had that.
Of course, every time I was seen him since then, I'm like, I have to say, I remind him,
I'm Ted Moffitt's niece.
So he's, yeah, very nice.
Yeah.
That's a great story.
I know.
So thank y'all for giving a gig with George Stray.
Let me know who's coming next.
You got it.
Garth?
Yeah, Garth.
Garth?
Who would be your Mount Rushmore, like four musical?
I won't say that you love the most right now because, you know, music comes in seasons and artists have projects.
But of all time, who are the four that you would put on there?
Four?
Well, George.
Man, I would have loved to go on tour with Bob Wills.
As one of the band.
or like as an opener?
Like one of the Playboys?
Maybe both.
I want to be a play girl.
Yeah.
And then I want to, you know, open up.
I think that would be so cool.
Just because I love Western Swing.
You know, Allison Krauss is one that I still just love.
You know, God, that's a hard one.
Chingie.
Chinging.
Ching.
Ching.
I like it when everybody around there or out there.
No, I was just picking somebody random.
You know, Willie,
Cheryl Crow.
Ray Price.
Well, now that's six.
That's six.
Yeah, no, this is like two mountains.
Well, okay.
I mean, we could do Eric Church.
Yes, yes.
We could do, God, Cody Johnson.
Now we're working our way down.
So many.
How is everything going for you?
Like, musically, I feel like you're just,
I see you in my periphery a lot,
which means you must be doing a lot, lot.
Because we don't really see what everybody else is doing.
The world is so full of content and everybody trying to scream.
And, hey, pay attention to me.
I got this project.
but I see you doing a lot of stuff now.
Do you feel like things are starting to really break through for you?
You know, that's good to hear that you say that.
Thank you.
You know, sometimes I think you lose a little bit of perspective of that
because I think you're in it, you know?
And so I think I've been busy this year.
So to me, if I've been busy, then I'm grateful for that.
You know, this year was my first year of radio tour.
It looked different from me.
I think this year was, you know, I was on Parker's tour,
playing a lot of shows throughout the whole year,
and we're doing it again next year,
I love him so thankful for all that.
You know, I did less writing this year.
That was something I kind of took away from this year that I want to do differently next year.
Because I find that I find such fulfillment in the creative process that sometimes you,
so much of it's out of your control, you know, whether it's what happens with, you know, your song on radio,
things like that, what I have control of and I still believe so, you know, wholeheartedly in songs.
but I feel like great songs always find their way.
So for me, I try not to look at, you know, kind of what's going on or how I'm doing.
You know, I think I feel good when I'm putting out music and able to play shows
because that's how I'm able to connect with people.
And so past that, you know, what I love for my streaming numbers to be up, yes.
You know, would I have loved if killed them and did better at radio?
Yes.
You know, I mean, there's always things.
I'm not going to sugarcoat anything.
but I'm just grateful because I feel like I have an amazing team.
You know, UMG really supports the music I put out and lets me make the music I want to make.
And that's rare.
You know, I've just, I've got good people around me.
And so for me, it's like, this is the long game.
Like, I just, I want to continue to build and put out music that I'm proud of and hopefully be a good person and play shows and connect with people.
Hopefully be a good person.
I mean.
But she hopefully is going to be a good person.
I'm hopefully going to be a decent room.
Yeah.
She's like, I'm going to put out music and hopefully it'll be a good person.
and, well, you know.
Priorities, I get it.
Yeah, I don't know.
I hope people don't see me as like a douche.
I think that I'm generally pretty nice.
So not always.
I was talking about a douche back there,
and we were yapping about somebody that's on my nerves.
But tell us more.
Yeah, no.
You know, some people, there's some people that can be kind of douchy,
and then there's some people who's just like, oh, God, I just want you to die.
How about that?
Oh, wow.
Oh, wow.
No, I believe that, that maybe, like,
be like a complete douche or somebody like in prison should die instead of a dog.
Yeah.
You know, like I think dogs should live way longer.
I don't mind if a douche dies in a movie.
You kill a dog?
I'm upset.
Yeah, just wrecked.
But if we really knew dogs, some of them would probably be douche.
But we don't.
Dochey dogs?
I mean, there's got to be, right?
They can't all be great.
Sometimes Stanley on Bulldog is a douche.
Like he purposefully will look at me and not listen.
All right, two things.
Two things.
Two questions here.
I felt you whenever you said, oh, look at me, you mentioned your agents working.
I get in that fight with my agents all this.
time. Like, do more. Why are you not doing anything? And then they do something. And I'm like,
wow, look at this. They came through. And it turns out it was like a cousin that had said something
to somebody. And I'm like, you don't have to get into credit for this. So when you said that,
like that resonated with me. I'm constantly in a friendly battle of why don't you guys work
harder for me? Because I'm working harder for you. I feel like I'm always the hardest working
person and my manager in my business, you know, but that's not ragging on them. I truly think
at the end it's it's. They're douches. Let's say it. No. No. No. I'm not. I. I, I, I'm
I don't want to get drunk or trouble for that.
That's what I said that.
I said that.
Here's a thing.
Yeah, okay, you said that.
As a joke.
It's timing.
Go ahead.
I think it's got to be that whole, you know, it's like it is WME.
It is Kim.
It is you, you know.
And it's all those, it's everybody kind of taking their little, you know,
pitching Katie and then at some point the stars align, you know.
And I never blame it on them, you know, when things come through.
I don't come through.
You know, sometimes do I think certain people could be.
working harder, yes. But at the end of the day, you know, it's hard when you're at a big
label agency, whatever the deal is. If there's people that have a song that's doing great on
radio or streaming like crazy or whatever, it's like, I can't blame them with the agency
for getting that opportunity over me. Well, I do. I do blame them. And not only that, yes.
I think unfairly I hold people to the standard I hold myself to. And sometimes that's not fair.
It's hard. Yeah. So I totally get that. And then my second thing was, do you know a guy named
Kevin Kluge.
Yes.
What do you think about that?
I think I need somebody to fund my training sessions with him.
So Kevin's my trainer.
We're together three or four times a week.
He says wonderful things.
Oh, that's so nice.
Well, my business manager told me I had to stop going.
He was like, what are these like Venmo's?
And he goes to Kevin too.
Wait, your business manager said to stop.
He probably wanted your slot.
He probably did because I was taking it to.
Because you can't get in, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So he's, or is he like, you need to go out and during this time you're working out, go earn more so you can pay me so I could pay Kevin.
Yes, but I can go get clug.
Yes.
But no, I love him.
He's just such a great guy.
You know, I loved working out with him.
And I love that you work out with him too.
Three times a week.
God.
That's impressive.
Yeah, yeah.
Bobby's always training.
Have you ever gone to him?
No, I've watched the workouts, though, on video.
Caitlin records them.
No, my wife, no, no, no, this is what happened?
She doesn't record the video.
We will be in the back.
We have security cameras that cover the whole property.
And we will be working out sometimes in the backyard.
And Eddie will come over and work out.
Our friend Ben works out.
And so sometimes when we're doing things, we feel like we look a lot more athletic
than we really are.
And my wife will be like, you guys look so dumb.
Look at this.
I got on security camera.
Or jumping stuff.
And then she'll text it to Amy and be like how dumb they look.
Great.
just going around.
Yes.
Tell me that's not true.
I don't think she was more dumb.
What'd you say?
You want me to pull it up?
No, it's more like, just like, it's hilarious,
watching them go.
You know what?
It's impressive.
You go all in.
That's not what she says.
So impressive, yeah.
That's not what she says.
I think he's brutal, though.
I mean, like, it's really hard.
Like, I was sweating profusely.
So yeah, if anybody wants to have fun that,
I'm just throwing this out there.
It ain't she?
Demo at Katie Offerman.
Okay, quick question.
that I want to hear you play something. Are you related to Nick Offerman?
No, I'm related to no cool Offerman, but I would get messages on Facebook all the time. I was like,
is there any relation to Nick? Like, no. I don't even know who he was.
Who talks in that voice?
Well, I don't, like, those are all like the random.
Oh, that's the random person voice? Is there any relation to Nick?
Okay, Katie Offerman is here. I want you guys to two things. One, if you happen to be like a hairstylist
and you know a famous artist, you heard it on this show and tell them Katie,
wants to come out and play a stadium.
There's plenty of hair stylists that have connections.
Let's keep that going.
Follow her at Katie with a C, Katie Offerman.
And is it, what is it?
Is it in real?
Is it Katie? Is it Caitlin?
It's Caitlin, but nobody's ever calling me that.
And how do you spell Caitlin?
C-A-I-T-L-Y-N, like Caitlin Smith.
Got it.
Yep.
I don't know why my parents named me that.
They've never once called it.
Caitlin, they never called you, Caitlin, even when you get in trouble?
No.
I'm always Katie.
All right.
So, yeah.
Are you going to do going crazy?
Is that what you're going to do here?
Yeah, I am.
That'd be awesome.
You know, I added it to my set with George.
I had 45 minutes, and it was a chance to, like, add in a couple new tunes.
And so I've just been having fun with this one.
And I feel like everybody has had a situation where a man or a woman made you go crazy.
I don't know that I have, but I...
You haven't ever gone crazy for a woman?
Like, I'm, like, crazy in love.
But I go to therapy and he's like, you've got to have more emotion.
I don't go too high or too low
I'm just kind of protective shell all the time
I totally get that
What's the craziest thing a woman has ever done
Oh I mean if anybody got even slight
Oh yeah no that's something we that's legal
Yeah we don't talk about it yeah
Yeah that's off the air when Katie
Oh God
All right here is Katie Offerman
This song is called going crazy
You know you kind of not remind me of
Like stylistically but just that you haven't really
compromised who you are
even when at times maybe it doesn't go the way that you'd hope it would
but you continue to stay in the lane that you know that is you
and it's all going to eventually come to you and you're going to own it
you and Ian Munswick are so similar in that to me
where same with him like you're not going to hear Ian and go
that guy I would but like people that whatever in corporate streaming radio
whatever be like this is the guy we need to take and make a star
But what's going to happen is you guys build and you stay who you are and stay true.
And then you're just authentically you and you own the lane that you've created that's now just massive.
So you two remind me a lot of each other in that way.
Well, thanks.
I love him so much.
Man, his voice, I don't think he's ever missed a note.
You know, he can just sing anything.
That dude is so.
He's like the nice.
He really is.
Like he kind of disarms you.
He's the long hair.
He's like, I grew up on a Ramian month.
And then all of a sudden he's like, what's up?
I know.
I love him.
You know, the thing is, is there's a thousand of everybody else.
There's already, you know, Carrie, Miranda, you know, Casey, all those gals.
It's like, I always say, like, God gave me about eight notes, you know.
I don't have, I don't have some crazy range.
It's like, this is what I do, you know?
That's why I always say, like, to girls and other people, it's like, don't worry about being anybody else.
It's like, you got you for a reason.
You got to do you, and not everybody's going to like it.
And I think if you do something great, sometimes it takes longer for people to come on board.
I think the more vanilla you are,
you know, maybe everybody like, yeah, you have a bob,
let's put it on the radio, whatever.
But it's like, you know what?
I want to make great music that I'm proud of.
And because that's what I have.
I have my voice.
And if they don't like you, they're a dude.
They're a dude.
All right.
A dude can do.
All right.
Katie Offman, everybody.
Thanks for having me.
Y'all are the best.
Love you guys.
A win is a win.
A win. A win is a win.
I don't care what you're saying.
Yep.
That's me.
Clever Taylor the 4th.
You might have seen the skits.
The reactions.

There's two golden rules that any man should live by.
Rule one, never mess with a country girl.
You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes.
And rule two, never mess with her friends either.
We always say that trust your girlfriends.
I'm Anna Sinfield, and in this new season of the girlfriends,
Oh my God, this is the same man.
A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist.
I felt like I got hit by a truck.
I thought, how could this happen to me?
The cops didn't seem to care.
So they take matters into their own hands.
I said, oh, hell no.
I vowed I will be his last target.
He's going to get what he deserves.
Listen to the girlfriends.
Trust me, babe.

I'm Ego Vodem.
My next guest, you know from Stepbrothers, Anchorman,
Saturday Night Live and the Big Money Players Network.
It's Will Farrell.
Woo-woo.
My dad gave me the best advice ever.
I went and had lunch with him one day.
And I was like, and Dad, I think I want to really give this a shot.
I don't know what that means, but I just know the groundlings.
I'm working my way up through, and I know it's a place that come look for up-and-coming talent.
He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you, which is really sweet.
Yeah.
He goes, but there's so much luck involved.
And he's like, just give it a shot.
He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit.
If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration.
It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat.
Just hang in there.
Yeah, it would not be.
Right, it wouldn't be that.
There's a lot of luck.
Listen to Thanks Dad on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.
It's time for the good news.
With Amy.
Tell me something good.
In the early morning hours in Connecticut,
firefighters responded to a house fire.
They were able to put it out.
They rescued several animals.
But the cat they pulled out wasn't breathing.
Huh.
They did animal CPR.
Pet CPR.
So cute.
Little cute cat CPR.
I love it.
I wish I could see it.
I wish I had a video.
How do you do that?
Is it like one finger?
I don't know.
Oh, I thought they do mouse to mouth.
They do meow to meow.
Like a little pumper thing.
So they were able to, you know, revive the kitten and they ended up naming the cat, suit, suit, fire.
Like suit from a fire.
S-O-O-C.
Oh, so-s.
S-T.
S-T.
I knew that felt wrong.
Yeah, suit.
Suit made no sense.
Always be a suit in a fire.
I don't know.
What is wrong with me?
Sutt.
Firefired.
writers Eric Walker and Michelle Forbes there together and they decided to adopt soot and
now the cat has a loving home and they say when they come home from work soot brings them so much
joy but they don't say it like that though hey so they probably just I say sit
sut it's a weird name though it is all right thank you that's what it's all about that was tell me
something good all right we're back hope you guys had a great holiday it's time to play elder versus
millennial, but
since Eddie won, Morgan's out.
There's a new millennial in today.
Such a bummer.
Crazy. Wow. Wow. Wow.
It'll be
Swifty Lauren. Who's
a producer. Oh, wow. I mean,
what, what, what, what? Eddie, you're going to
demolish. Why? Why do you say that? I don't
think she's going to know any of the older stuff. She is
not. Why are you attacking her?
Hi, hi, hi, guys.
Yeah, geez.
Coming in hot.
Hey, happy new year. Happy New Year. I'm just saying
I'm just saying from conversations I've had with her that she is not going to know a lot of the stuff in the past.
Okay.
Well, let's do our introductions first then.
It's a whole new season here.
First, he's the dad of four.
I call him the Hispanic who don't panic.
His skills and games are indisputable.
He says his cowboys are going to the Super Bowl.
We call him delusional.
It's Eddie.
The champ.
His opponent.
She's our newest producer.
She's the biggest fan of Taylor Swift to someday meet her or something she wished.
It's Lauren, everybody.
Have you ever met Taylor?
I have met Taylor once.
How to go?
Really well.
Just a quick little photo, but didn't get to talk to her much.
Where'd you meet her?
Down here in Nashville when she did that mural thing.
Oh, yeah.
With those, I was like the butter to the wings.
Did you cry?
No, I didn't cry, actually, but I did like I was kind of shaking.
She's super tall.
She is tall.
Yeah, more taller than you think, yeah.
Yeah.
Okay, well, let's go to Eddie first.
Eddie, you'll get three questions that Lauren will probably know the answer to.
She can steal if you miss it, okay?
Let's go.
Eddie, the burn book.
Was a journal in what 2000's movie?
The Burn Book?
The Burn Book was a journal in Harry Potter.
Incorrect.
Sorry, I'm used to be in Morgan.
It's okay.
Lauren, can you steal?
That was mean girls.
Correct.
I saw it.
Amy, stop.
It's not girls versus boys.
It's elder millennial.
You're cheering for the kids?
Eddie.
Yeah.
You're an elder.
Eddie.
Yes, sir.
What actress played Maddie in the sweet life of Zach and Cody?
Oh!
And also released this song called He Said She Said.
Yeah, I do reference a lot of Zach and Cody.
Yeah, but I don't reference, you just guess the words.
I think I've ever seen it.
What actress played Maddie in the Sweet Life of Zach and Cody?
Did you say when that song was?
2007.
2007.
Yeah, so that'll probably be, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's not Hillary Duff, but her sister.
Need an answer?
Hillary Duff.
Incorrect.
Lauren, can you steal?
That is Ashley Tisdale.
Correct.
I wouldn't know that.
Wow.
Good job.
That's terrible.
Eddie, what drama series said in a fictional Seattle hospital premiered in 2005 and became a cultural phenomenon?
Gray's Anatomy?
Correct.
Eddie one?
I'm on the board, baby.
Lauren, two.
All right, Lauren, I'm coming to you.
These are old questions.
It's going to be hard for you to know if you weren't around.
But let's give it a run here.
Lauren, what was the name of the vehicle they drove in Scooby-Doo?
Um, the mystery van.
Incorrect.
Was it something like that?
Incorrect.
So close, Lauren.
It's the mystery machine.
Oh, okay.
I kind of had it there.
Wow.
But you did not get it.
Okay.
So now it's 2-2.
Come on.
Oof.
All right.
Lauren, what was the name of the music file sharing service that gained notoriety in the early 2000s before it was shut down due to copyright infringement?
Napster.
Correct.
How does she know that?
Oh, she's good.
She's sneaky good
I know a lot more than you think
I'm good on my pop culture stuff
Lauren for the win
What does CD stand for?
Compacted
Correct
Wow
Oh my gosh
Oh my gosh
She just came in one
She just came in a one
Wow
I love Taylor
I'm gonna hate this song
Wow
Lucky fuck what do you have to say
Betty you screwed up
How did I
Did you know Ashley Tisdale
No exactly
Wow
Oh my goodness
She comes in hot
You know what
Lunchbox is coming in high
She raises them.
I'm like the champ that comes in
has been off, like just chilling off season.
Yeah, yeah.
You were celebrating.
You were partying.
You're right.
Long, congratulations.
You got one zero.
Nice shot.
There she has.
Thank you.
All right.
All right.
Here's the voicemail from last night.
Morning studio.
Do you guys know what your partner
or significant other orders
at fast food restaurants?
Can you go there and just order what they want
and take it home and they'll be happy with it?
Or do you have to call them?
and ask them what they want.
Just wondering.
Generally, I could guess.
I know what my kids want.
Yeah, I don't know.
What is it?
I get the same thing every time.
Yeah, I don't know.
I mean, I would ask her, just to be safe.
It's risky.
Yeah.
It's like buying clothes.
I mean, you think you know, but it's still risky.
Yeah.
Because if you get it wrong, there's a lot you're held accountable for if you get it
wrong and you don't really get any points if you get it right.
Yeah.
It's like national anthem.
Craving exchange.
So, yeah, there's that.
But thank you.
It crave exchange.
Amy good. That's two.
Here's Amy's pile of stories.
Right, New Year. People are trying to like,
be their bed.
Hey, New Year, same me.
So I have eight habits of the world's happiest people.
I bet you're waking up early.
Well, it's getting at least eight hours of sleep.
So however that looks for you.
No.
Yeah.
I wake up early, but I don't get eight hours of sleep.
All right?
Eat a plant-based breakfast?
Like too much meat and dairy in the morning.
A banana?
I hated that morning show.
Meat dairy in the morning?
meat and dairy in the morning.
Are you holding up your banana because you're
plant-based?
Hey, New Year's, same need.
What else?
They socialize.
Happy people socialize.
Uh-oh.
He sucks.
Bones out.
Shut up to block to me.
They volunteer.
Okay.
They take naps.
Yeah.
Only if I'm like really dragging.
Like quick ones, 30 minutes.
Like a power nap.
I don't do.
I know.
I need like an hour and a half or no nap.
Okay.
Yeah.
They have faith.
And here's the thing.
Gotta have faith, faith, faith.
Yeah, got to have faith, faith.
Faith, faith.
Limited TV and social media.
The ideal amount is no more than 30 minutes a day each.
I watch a lot of TV, but I will social media the crap out of some stuff.
But shows are TV.
The streaming shows, that's TV.
That's the phone.
And then I don't even know how this is on the list because I don't know how people do this, but don't work full time.
Well, that'd be nice not to work full time.
Yeah, it says, yeah, if you could work less than 35 hours a week, you'll be happier.
I'd love that.
Or very sad because you can't afford to pay your bills.
Exactly.
Yeah.
All right, what else?
So that was just a bonus one.
All right, something, or a list of things that we're going to be nostalgic for in 20 years.
So maybe you need to like package.
Sonic.
Well, hopefully it'll still be.
We'll be in our hovercrafts and just ordering on.
We won't drive into the stalls anymore.
Oh, true.
Okay.
Smart phones will be nostalgic for, like now some people are like, they want a flip phone so bad.
And now I feel like in the future really, I just,
I got a dog
A chip or something
And we'll be like
Remember we used to have things with us?
Mm-hmm
That'd be crazy
Yeah what else
Virtual reality
Like apps like Pokemon Go
and stuff like that
That would be
I never played
I think we're all in that
Anyway we'll live in that
Mm-hmm
Go ahead
Boot cut jeans
With like flares
Flare jeans
Working from home
We'll be nostalgic
For that
Trending music on TikTok
And lastly
Crop tops
All right there you go
I don't know
Why 20 years
But I have five random country music facts.
Go ahead.
Number one.
Henry Ford's intense hatred of jazz drove him to pump tons of money into promoting country music,
which was called old-time music back then.
But he helped establish the country music culture as we know it today.
Because he hated jazz?
That's cool.
I guess that's all there was back then, right?
Henry Ford got a problem.
All right, what else?
Billboard's list of top played country music songs was originally known as the Hillbilly Records chart.
It was Hillbilly Music.
People from the Hill. Well, it wasn't meant as a derogatory term. It was literally called the Hillbilly.
People from the Hills. Yeah, yeah. And then in 1949, they changed it to country and Western.
Yep.
Troy Aikman released a country song called Oklahoma Nights in 1995.
That was awesome. It was great. Never heard it. You? No.
Luke Combs was inspired by Tracy Chapman, but Tracy once said that her inspiration to learn guitar as a child came from He-Haw.
Comes. Oh, he-ha.
Yeah, he-haul. And then a 2019 study analyzed songs and lyrics from over a million songs out there and found that country is the genre that most frequently references.
Alcohol.
Illegal trucks.
Oh, wow.
1.6 mentions per song on average, so.
There you have it.
What are we letting our kids listen to?
All right, thank you.
I'm Amy. That's my pile.
That was Amy's pile of stories.
It's time for the good news.
Oh, it's Bobby.
She's 10 years old.
She wants a dog.
She can't have one though because she lives in an apartment and they don't allow pets.
And her mom suffers from allergies.
But she loves dogs so much that she does as many things as possible to be around them,
including making dog toys and collars and then donating the money to the local animal shelter
that she then gets to go to and volunteer at, which I think is pretty cool.
The business is called Ells Sales for Dogs.
That's cool.
It allows her to visit dogs every time she drops off donations.
shelter. El is also known to
stop and engage with a bunch of dogs
on the street. Be careful.
But her mom now takes an allergy pill
so she can go with her.
But they still live in an apartment where they can't have a dog yet.
But I got a feeling there are a lot of dogs
in Elle's future. That's pretty cool.
Only 10 years old. That is what it's all about.
That was Tell Me Something Good.
What's up everybody? We are very glad
you're back with us. Thank you. Happy New Year. Let's play
a voicemail from Bonnie in Arkansas.
When their artists like Taylor or Garg accumulate a considerable amount of wealth and then continues to like go on tour or put out albums, is it just for like the love of it or why do it?
Because it's surely not for the money because you already have Buku's some money.
So what's your thoughts?
Both.
You develop a lifestyle based on how rich are.
I don't know a single rich person that's been like, you know, I was trying to get to $11.
I hit it.
I'm done.
So.
But once you get to like a hundred million, though.
No, then you want to give a lot of it away, hopefully.
And so if you're giving it away, you got to make more?
You got to.
It's, and you always, regardless, in my situation, if I was broke or I'm not broke right now,
you always kind of live within your means a bit, regardless of what it is.
I figured out how to live on having $9 for a whole week.
Yeah.
And what I could buy.
And then the same now.
So, and like, what I can donate, what I, but mostly it's for the love of it.
But no one ever goes, I got enough money.
Not really.
And somebody driven all of a sudden isn't driven anymore once they have a material.
Yeah, or they were actually in it because they loved it and never in it for the money at all.
Well.
Oh, come on.
I would say you didn't get into this for the money.
I would say this isn't an art where you don't get in it for the money.
Oh, true.
Because there's not money in it, music, anything creative.
There is, but it's so rare that you have to get into it because times.
are so hard for so long because of the love of it,
because if you're in it for money,
you ain't going to be in it long.
Good point.
And also, there are two kinds of people
that really get into creative art things.
And that can be anything from singing,
painting, being a podcaster radio,
people who have no money
or have a lot of family money,
especially music too, because no money,
you're like, I got nothing to lose,
I got a dream, let's chase it.
All the money, you're like,
I got all the money, I ain't nothing to lose.
I'm going to go try this
and I got mommy and dad.
his money. So most artists are on one of the two
spectrums. And let's be real, playing a show
is fun to these artists. Like, I mean,
having millions of people being like, you're
awesome, I bet they love that. But like Jeff
Bezos, like, what is he? Like, he's got
a lot of money and he just loves selling Amazon.
He just, he works on the computers.
Let's send that book there.
That doesn't sound fun. I think with him
it's developing space things.
He's the CEO of the company Macro.
He's, uh, yeah,
I don't know. I don't consider that in my
knowledge dream though.
because I don't know about business.
Right.
But yes, they have to love it
or they wouldn't have started to do it.
But Taylor and Garth love their music
and love fans and love creating.
And love performing.
Yeah, yeah.
And they also love money,
but also what you can do with it as well.
Let's do one more.
I was just wondering what y'all would do
if you were out on a walk
and saw two dogs in the car.
The windows are cracked
and it's only about 60 degrees outside.
It's very sunny.
I took a laugh and about 40 minutes later
came back and they're still there.
I just don't know if I should call the non-emergency line or I don't know.
I'm just worried about the dogs.
What would y'all do?
Well, great job for being worried about the dogs because that's the first step
and making sure that nothing bad happens to the dogs.
The fact that it's 60 degrees and the window's cracked and you don't know if the owners
are coming back or not in between.
You're gone 40 minutes.
Maybe they came back after 15 minutes.
Maybe.
So if you were really concerned, maybe you come back in like another hour and if it's still
the same and they're still there, then you can.
could possibly ask some questions.
But I think if the owner has enough agency to go, I'm going to crack the window, I'm going
to make sure it's not super hot.
I'm going to, they're probably taking care of the dogs.
Yeah.
60 windows.
It's nice.
Yeah, if it's really hot.
I would put me in the car 60 windows.
If it's been 40 minutes, they're okay.
Yeah, 40's okay.
And who knows if they've been attended.
But thank you for noticing and watching that because that is actually what saves the lives
of a lot of dogs.
So there you go.
All right, now, morning corny time.
Let's go.
The morning corny.
What New Year's resolution should basketball players never make?
What?
To travel more.
That was the morning corny.
Traveling.
That's pretty good one.
Not bad.
Travel more.
Yeah, that's a pretty good one.
People don't care about your fantasy football team.
They don't care about your dreams.
Other than that, you can talk openly on this show about whatever your feelings and emotions are.
We don't really do dreams, but Eddie's asked that we come and talk about a dream.
This was a particular dream that I feel was more than a dream.
Amy, I think it was a sign.
Okay.
Oh, we got a couple signs here today.
Because Amy, there was a sign from Amy I wanted to bring it up too.
Okay, okay.
Okay, you go first.
Guys, I had a full-on dream that I went to Turkey.
I flew to Turkey to get my hair transplant done.
It was amazing.
I mean, the country of Turkey was unbelievable.
They had smoked turkey, smoked chicken.
No, I think you're thinking, okay.
I was in Turkey.
Eating turkey.
Eating turkey.
Eating turkey, smoke turkey.
And I did the whole procedure.
Everyone was nice.
The doctor, he talked like this, but he was so comforting.
And, dude, I came out with a beautiful head of hair.
So you think it's a sign to do it to go to Turkey for hair transplant?
I mean, dude, how long have we been talking about this?
I have not once had a dream about this.
And all of a sudden, I think this is a sign of big man upstairs maybe telling me I should go.
I don't know.
I don't really.
believe 100% in science, but this one was too detailed, dude, to not be true.
Well, at some point, we're going to have to conclude this bit, and you're going to have to tell us.
Are the pyramids in Turkey?
Because I saw the pyramids there.
They are not.
Oh, interesting.
Okay.
Because I climbed a pyramid while I was there.
Interesting.
Okay.
Egypt.
Okay.
It might be around there, some.
I don't know.
Okay, so the end of next week, I'll let us know if you want to go to Turkey to get your hair transplant.
I'm getting closer and closer.
And then we're done.
We're done with the bit.
Amy loves signs.
Yeah.
Now, this was one we didn't talk about on the show about what you found outside your door.
Yeah, because it, in my window and my dog.
Yeah.
The bird.
Yeah.
Yeah, I don't know.
Set it up, though, on why you think it's a, okay.
Well, so my mom comes to visit me as a cardinal and my dad as a Blue Jay.
You think that.
It's, they use the birds as signs to comfort me.
Because they're not alive anymore.
They have passed.
They're on the other side.
and I, my mom is a cardinal and my dad is a blue jay.
It's very clear.
It's proven. It's very clear to me.
Okay.
And a cardinal flew into my window.
All I hear is, you know, up against the, and then it falls.
But I didn't think it died.
Like I just thought, you know, sometimes birds were into windows and it probably went off.
Well, then later I let my dog out.
My dog went straight for the cardinal on the green.
I ate the bird.
The grass and I don't know what to think of my dog eating my mom.
So that is not really a sign.
Do you think your mom was trying to get in the house?
Or what is my,
or was my mom trying to send me another message?
Because she can be multiple cardinals.
So it's not like that was just her.
Oh, I was going to say maybe she was saying your dog's hungry.
So she would be hiding myself to your dog.
Yeah.
Or like, I volunteer's tribute.
Do you don't really think that's your mom?
No, I kind of feel like she uses cardinals.
to comfort me.
I don't...
What about the St. Louis Cardinals?
Why if you just kind of misconstrued it?
The baseball team?
The more they win, the more...
No, because, I mean, the male Cardinals are red,
and sometimes she's red,
and sometimes she's brown.
Those are the female Cardinals.
It's crazy that they're both baseball teams,
even the Blue Jays.
Oh, wow.
Oh.
Whoa.
So...
I had never had a Blue Jay at my bird feeder
until my dad died.
And then a Blue Jay started showing up.
Or did you've never noticed the Blue Jay.
It's like you've never seen so many Toyota Tundra driving around.
Until you buy one.
buy one, you're like, goddamn, the whole road's all toilet tundress.
That's true. Because I played bird bingo.
I had had lots of birds visit and I had not had a blue jay.
And sometimes they show up together, which to me is a sign that they have gotten back together in heaven.
Oh, that's so sweet.
Do you feel sad about this?
I don't know what I think about my dog.
This is what I would like to say.
It's not your mom.
Well, that, I know.
And Eddie, there are no pyramids in Turkey.
No pyramids at all.
Here's what we do.
In our lives.
We sign things, blah, blah, blah.
We, but I ask for my mom to, like the penny.
When I signed on the penny, that was my mom.
There's just a lot of pennies, Amy.
No, no.
The same day that I read the poem that my sister wrote about pennies when my mom died.
Same day.
I hope you guys find what you're looking for.
And I love that you're open to things.
I can't tell you you're wrong.
Eddie, you're wrong.
There are no pyramids.
Dude, this dream was so detailed.
I can't tell Amy that she's wrong.
but and if it makes you happy, it makes you feel good,
it makes you make decisions and help other people, great.
But don't let it affect you in a negative way.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's not.
I, I'm more so, I don't look at it as car eating my mom,
but what message is my mom trying to send me?
Is this a warning?
That's not your mom.
Is it a warning?
Okay.
We're going to take a break.
The New Year's already messed with you guys' brains.
We got a lot to think about.
We got a lot to do.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
What did you do in New Year's Eve?
Anything fun?
Like crazy party?
Oh, no.
I hung out at my house.
I was sick.
Yeah.
I was bad sick.
I went to bed by like 10 o'clock.
Really?
Yeah.
I think I had like R.SV.
Oh, that's the bad one.
Lunchbox kids had that.
AIDS.
That's worse.
That's not good.
RSV, kids can get it bad, but adults.
But I don't know if that's what the symptoms kind of, I was bad.
I heard you had it pretty bad.
Why are you laughing?
I couldn't do anything.
No, I know.
I know. That's what I heard.
I couldn't even play video games.
I heard you could.
Oh, that's tough.
You were really sick then.
I almost could play no video games at all.
Almost could play.
Why, you played a little bit?
I try, but I stopped.
I cut it off halfway through.
That's tough, man.
Because I was like...
I feel like that's what I heard.
Well, I was playing and I was like, I can't even play video games.
And I turned it off.
I hate that for you.
My back was hurting.
My body was aching so bad.
I knew Amy was looking at me weird.
Like my wife had gossiped something to her.
Yeah, because she came over the next day.
My wife just disappears and goes to Amy's house sometimes.
She couldn't stay long because she needed to go draw your bath.
Draw you a bath.
With Epsons salts.
Yes.
And draw a bath is a funny term.
That was her idea.
Yes, she wanted to care for you.
She went to get the absence.
And I was like, I'm good.
I don't need you.
I take care of me.
But she was like, no, I'm going to the absence salt.
I'll be back.
But then she's gone three hours.
Amy.
And so, yes.
I wasn't even awake at midnight.
Eddie, you?
Yeah, I stayed up just like to the minute and then went to bed.
Right.
Three, two.
Like literally.
Hey.
Okay.
Go to bet. Lunchbox?
My wife ruined New Year's.
Yeah.
Because around 3 o'clock, she started saying she had body aches.
Okay, hold that.
Of course.
We'll get back to that in a minute.
You have a second.
We'll hear the lunchbox's story.
A win is a win.
A win is a win.
I don't care which I'm saying.
Yep, that's me.

There's two golden rules that any man should live by.
Rule one, never mess with a country girl.
You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes.
And rule two,
never mess with her friends either.
The cops didn't seem to care, so they take matters into their own hands.
I said, oh, hell no.
I vowed. I will be his last target.
He's going to get what he deserves.

I went and had lunch with him one day,
and I was like,
And dad, I think I want to really give this a shot.
I don't know what that means, but I just know the groundlings.
I'm working my way up through, and I know it's a place that come look for up and coming talent.
Listen to Thanks, Dad, on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
We're back.
Happy New Year, everybody.
I put up a thing on my Instagram.
It's like, we're back Thursday.
And like a picture of me pops up.
Do you guys see that?
Yeah.
I actually downloaded some terrible app on photo editing.
That was me doing that.
It looked like a 12 year old did it.
And also I didn't know what the picture was
and it's me licking a microphone.
Yeah.
It was only when I posted it
Did I zoom in and look?
The whole thing was kind of a disaster.
So you made that yourself though?
That's cool?
It's like a finger paint.
Paint my number.
Oh, it's terrible.
But it's up Mr. Bobby Bones on my Instagram.
I did it all myself, Mom.
Good for you, man.
But we're happy to be back.
Amy, did you have a word this year?
I know we didn't talk about that.
You're not doing a word?
Last year it was water or something, right?
I feel like that was a few years ago.
Oh.
Like?
Air?
But it wasn't just water.
I wanted to drink more water.
But then I also wanted to be more fluid like water.
Like I wanted to be more go with the flow.
Remember?
And haven't I been?
Haven't I been?
Yeah, but that's two years ago.
But it takes time.
Okay.
So now you're totally wet.
Last year.
Okay.
Last year I said, I think I wanted more connection.
Which I feel like that was my word.
And then this year.
But then one, didn't the opposite happen?
Yeah.
No, she's connected to herself more because that's what they're disconnected.
Yeah, but we were disconnected.
Well, you, what some didn't know is we were disconnected far before that.
Now connected with yourself more than you ever have always.
So no word this year.
Right.
Not as of yet.
But I, so here's the thing.
I have all my vision board supplies and, you know, like glue stick and my magazines and my poster.
But I haven't.
I have a friend coming over this weekend and we'll work on it.
So maybe as we do that, I'll come up with my word.
It's just for fun.
Well, supplies sounds right, because you need like a couch and a bed.
No, I have it all.
Superware.
He's never going to.
This well is never going to go drive with him.
Ever.
Ever.
Let's say even if you have two more husbands.
You divorce the next one.
He's still going to keep going back to the same well because it's just easy for him.
I know, I'm pretty sure we announced my divorce March of last year.
March.
And then.
Was that March?
And we were in the process of that for maybe even eight months before that something.
So it's not new.
It's just we were really taking our time.
And honestly, it's.
It's a lot of paperwork, and I don't like that.
Yeah, March 16, 20, 23.
My word?
Yeah, give me a word.
Ooh.
Word for next year.
Well, this year.
Well, whatever, this year.
I'm going to go with straight.
Okay.
I like what we're talking about here.
Let's let's let's put the rest of a lot of rumors about us, Eddie.
Let's do it right now.
I want to stand up straight more.
Like, I want my posture to be better.
Maybe the word is posture.
Oh, maybe.
It's like the word's homo.
Homo sapien because I am a human.
We're like, wait.
No.
Okay, go ahead.
Okay, up straight.
Oh, God, it's one word.
How would I say there, huh?
It's fine.
All's fine when you just, okay, got.
Oh, my God.
Straight's fine.
It just felt, but people think it's something else.
I don't mean that.
So your word is going to be upright.
Upright.
Is that one word?
I don't like that either.
I don't like that either.
Eric.
No, no.
The word is.
Erratic.
It's worse.
No.
Like, I had more connection than you want.
good posture.
You can have...
Just posture.
Okay.
Posture.
Your word is posture.
You have bad posture.
But just posture.
Okay.
Yeah, posture.
Oh, man.
Poster.
Your word is posture.
Thanks for helping you.
You only get one word.
Okay.
Lunchbox.
Do you have any word?
Yeah.
You don't have to have to have one.
You come up on one now.
No, I thought of it.
I've been thinking about a long time.
Go ahead.
Well, I mean, it's two words.
No, you can't do two.
One word.
We just did his.
You can't do good posture.
You can do one.
Well, I mean, this is going to be,
it's a hyphenated.
So it's like one word.
More giving.
How about just giving?
How about just giving?
Yeah.
Forget the more.
Because it's not like you're known as a giver to begin with.
Giving.
Okay.
Giving what?
I'm going to give my opinion more.
Oh, God.
I'm going to give feedback more.
Because you go to restaurants here, you know.
No, I thought he was going to like going to give back to people.
No, no, listen.
I've been thinking about this.
You go to restaurants and you never write a review.
But you go to Yelp to find out if a restaurant is good or bad if you're going to go to it.
So even if it's good or if it's bad, we should be leaving reviews.
So you're going to be a giver or not a taker?
Well, I mean.
Well, you write good reviews.
You're not known.
Right, right.
I would write good reviews, but I also write good ones.
But I also write bad reviews.
Got it.
Please let us know when you do this ever.
We don't have to sit at the restaurant or anything, but we want to know your reviews.
Right.
And see, the thing is I need to come up with an online name.
Box lunch.
So people don't know.
You never know it to you.
That's good.
Box lunch.
Yeah.
Box lunch, gibbles.
Nico Jackson.
I can do it.
Yes, yes, yes.
So the reason I ask this is every year, Amy comes up with the word,
and we didn't talk about this before we went on.
And I don't know if I'm coming up with a word now.
I'm just trying to be more,
sometimes I try to protect people's feelings when it doesn't matter.
I like to give you an example,
and it was uncomfortable to me to do,
but it's what I did.
So a friend of mine got me this really nice gift.
It wasn't you.
You're staring at me like about something about you.
Yeah, because it's what I was about you.
Yeah, because.
I know sometimes you've tried to protect my feelings.
Yeah, this is what this was.
Well, first of all, Eddie got me a terrible gift.
Then I now realize it's a good gift.
He didn't tell me what it was.
I'd explain it.
I didn't know what it was.
Well, the gift card?
No, for like two weeks he got me this.
It's like a grandma bag of panties or something.
What?
It turns out it was a pickle.
It was a pickleball bag.
It was just made of mesh.
Okay.
What are the panties?
Nothing.
He just said that.
Oh, it was made of panties.
Okay, I thought there was underwear inside.
No, no.
So, you thought he took Caitlin's underwear and made it into a bag.
No one thought that.
So my friend got me this really nice picture of like the sound, like a sound wave.
You know, when you have an audio file.
Yeah.
And he goes, hey, I got this.
It's one of your favorite song of all time.
It's your favorite Willie Nelson song of the song that you love.
And that song is.
Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain.
Thank you, Eddie.
And it wasn't Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain.
It was Angel flying too close on the ground.
And he hands it to me.
And it just says, here, this is Angel.
And I go, I just take it and say that was nice or I go, this is not my favorite song.
And I went, this is not my favorite.
my favorite song.
Why?
He said, what?
What?
Why?
Why did you say that?
Because that would be full.
But why is it the first thing you say when he's handing you this special gift?
It wasn't the first.
I had already thought about it.
Like, I feel like sometimes I think I can be protecting people.
And it's just not healthy for other one of us because they receive a false impression of what.
My impression.
So I'm just, I already made this deal with myself.
Good or bad.
I'm just, I'm a giver.
But it is.
I'm going to get my opinion.
But it is in the.
Say giving.
I agree with you, but it also is in the delivery.
So can you act out how you said it exactly?
Yeah.
Oh, wow, thanks.
I read the bottom of it.
And he said, this is your favorite, one of your favorite songs,
Willie Nelson, Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground.
I said, I don't.
I mean, I would say this is like in my top 30, Willie Nelson's songs.
Oh, God.
He said, what?
I said, yeah, I said, it's a good song.
But do you mean blue eyes crying in the rain?
He goes, oh, I do.
I was like, oh, yeah.
I'd like that one.
You said I'd like that one?
Like I don't like this one.
That's interesting.
Why don't dislike this one?
Okay.
Well, he said, okay, well, keep that one and we'll get you another one.
Oh.
Okay.
Okay.
Let's go.
Now I have the whole greatest hits.
I'll get you on the road again.
So that is something I'm trying to walk toward.
Like I'm still going to lie about stuff.
So what word is that?
Hold on, hold on.
I'm still going to lie about stuff.
I'm trying to figure out the word.
So why in that moment?
moment. No, no, no. I think I was doing that
to protect them and me
and I don't think I need to. I think I just need to be honest.
But like
blunt? But if somebody's got a gun and they're like, and I can protect
somebody, I'm still going to lie about stuff I have to.
But like things like that, it doesn't help anybody.
Because they needed to know that you don't really like
that song. Yeah, because later on in life, or two weeks
from now and I'm like, my favorite, Willing Nelson's on Blois. And they're like,
oh, God, I feel terrible. And they go and they, no. So what
is the word, though? No, no, no. I was just thinking.
of things I was changing up. Okay, okay, here we go. I think my word's going to be purpose.
That's my purpose. I'm going to find my purpose this year.
Okay. And sometimes I have to be purposefully honest.
Purposely honest? Like, just purpose. But also I'm not going to do work. I'm not going to do any work
that I don't have to anymore. Unless I'm doing it for a reason, like a, because sometimes I would
just take like jobs. I'd go do this one-off TV thing here or do this. Unless there's purpose,
I'm trying to build something towards something. I do something.
for me. I ain't doing it anymore. Done. I'm out. I'm only doing things, but I may do more of it.
So I'm not working less. So you just have some boundaries. No, I want less boundaries, but I want
those boundaries. I want, I'm only doing stuff that has reason for merit in my life.
But knowing you, you can probably make something up to make it hard. That is true. Absolutely.
Yes, I can. So something might, it might not change at all. And the purpose might be $500.
Exactly. But anyway, I'm just trying to be purposeful with them to understand, know all my feelings.
So purpose.
Purpose.
That's my word.
Ray, you have a word?
Yeah, portal.
Like, transfer portal.
You going to college?
Where are you going?
Nah, it's kind of like people in my life, feelings, things.
Doesn't matter.
Put in the transfer portal.
Like, send it away?
We don't understand.
They do matter.
No, we need to understand what you mean.
Yeah, so say a friendship, like where you really don't feel like the friendship is going anywhere.
And they're like, hey, why don't you ever hang out with him anymore?
Put them in the transfer portal.
Love it.
So you're cutting toxins.
You're eliminating toxins.
I love it.
Yeah.
Is it South Beach again?
Yeah.
Are you in South Beach beefing again?
No, it's my buddy Bill.
No, you don't have to say his name.
Wait, you and Billy are having a problem?
See, now this started.
Ray, come on.
Billy just not even know he's in the portal.
Bill, he's in the portal.
Oh, no.
Can I pick him up?
Bill and Billy are different people.
Okay.
You guys could call us if you have something you want to say or question you want to ask.
We've been gone for a little bit, so we'd love to hear from you.
877-77.
That's our phone number.
877-B-O-B-B-B-Y.
Bobby's B.
Stories.
As we get into the news, a Texas woman may have baked her way into the Guinness Book
of World Records by spending 55 hours making tasty treats.
I feel like we can beat this record.
By we, I don't mean me.
I mean somebody else.
Michelle Hanley spent 55 hours creating various baked goods in her kitchen
in an attempt to take the world record for the longest baking marathon by an individual.
55 hours, that's 48, that's two days plus seven.
We can do that three days and bake.
No, sleep.
You think you could stay up that long?
Oh, three days.
Yes, I think I don't know what shapes I'd be baking at that point.
Are you allowed to take anything?
I don't know they drug test you.
Yeah.
I don't mean that.
Is it matter how much you're baking?
Like, can you just do one?
Because you usually wait an hour for it to bake.
Yeah, put in one cookie.
Then take a nap.
No, I think you have to keep going.
Yeah.
So she started cooking on December 28th and finished her attempt,
55 hours later. Witnesses to her feet included Mansfield Police Chief Tracy Aaron.
The other record was 47 hours. So now they're reviewing it. UPI had that story.
Like this is something that Ray could just dominate. Ray fist pump for how many hours in a row?
Ooh, 17, I want to say. Like fistpoll. I kept his arm moving. Like, you ever see the guy somewhere in the Middle East who holds his hand above his head and he's held it there for like decades?
So in his arm has gotten really, really, really skinny. No. He does it as like.
like something spiritual.
Oh, no, I've never seen that.
He's not heard of this.
Wild.
So it's skinny because he holds it up and gravity?
He hasn't put it below his head in maybe 50 years.
Wow.
Lunchbox, we find the story.
Okay.
I know you'll be able to find the crazy story pretty quick.
We'll be like, Lunchbox, what's Capital Tech?
I don't know.
I can't Google and find it.
No, awesome.
We're like, what?
Austin.
No, I know you.
Oh, sorry.
So his name is Amar.
He is a Hindu Sadu who raised
his right hand in 1973 hasn't brought it down in 50 years.
He considers it as a dedication to the Lord Shiva and a symbol for his desire to attain
world peace.
And I might have mispronounced stuff there.
If I know me, I did in no way was that, I hope that was not insulting to anybody.
But I, like, this guy, he doesn't just talk to freaking talk.
He walks the walk.
But like.
He arms the arm.
Look at his arm.
So when he's sleeping, going and showering.
You know why I saw him?
I saw him the first time on his arm still up.
Yeah.
It's like if you have a cast on.
you gotta keep it out of the bathtub.
But it's always on.
I saw him on the Ricky Jervais
traveling show
where they send their buddy out.
Idiot abroad.
Yeah.
It's the first time I saw him
and I was like,
wow, that's dedication.
Like that's not my way to dedicate.
But now he's like a symbol to people.
Like if he can do this
and be uncomfortable
and hold uncomfortableness,
other people see it too
and go, well,
I can be uncomfortable as well
to actually do better things.
That's crazy.
Anyway, she baked 55 hours.
That's nothing.
Yeah, like lady,
this dude rocks.
You didn't do anything.
We get mad at her now.
So here's a Christmas gift that was pretty cool.
A Washington, D.C. woman who received a powerball ticket as a Christmas gift won a $2 million jackpot.
Wow.
Oh, man.
That's what I mean.
I mean, whoever gave her that ticket hates themselves.
But surely she gives them a little bit.
No, no, a little bit ain't $2 million.
Like, because that person bought it so they had that ticket.
Her husband bought it for her and put it in the stocking.
The husband?
Oh, that's his money too then.
Yeah, they don't have a difference.
different.
What?
Unless.
Like a neighbor like,
oh, you know,
you're a good neighbor.
Here's a lottery ticket.
Oh, my gosh.
Husband.
That makes it different.
It does make a bit of a difference,
but still,
the headline gets here.
You're like,
but just winning that
on Christmas,
I would think it was one
of you guys screwing with me.
Yeah.
You look in the back?
If anything really good happens to me now,
I always look around.
I do my eyes.
I'm like, where are they?
Somebody from the show
has got to be screwing with me.
Starbucks customers
can now bring their own cup.
So Starbucks is going greener in 2024
by allowing customers to bring their own reusable cups.
Dude, I'd bring the super biggest cup ever.
You take the Sonic Cup in here from our studio that's four feet tall.
Wow.
Well, I'm sure they have different price points depending on the size.
Yeah, that's a large.
No, that's a tantra.
Trenta.
That's a Tonto.
Whatever that is.
Do you get you said Trenta?
Starting today, drive-thru and mobile customers can choose an option to bring in their own cup as long as it's clean.
customers will even get a 10-cent discount
or an extra 25 Starbucks rewards
bonus stars for bringing their cup.
Starbucks says it hopes to cut waste in half by 2030.
CBS News. I think this is great,
but you know, as long as it's clean, how did they know?
Everybody listen to me.
Smell test.
Yeah, I mean, they just look at.
I hate that job.
All right, when you smell test,
Chuck, come here.
There's a cup.
We're a big Sonic show, obviously,
and we were a massive Sonic show,
and then they became a sponsor in that order.
So we have this huge Sonic.
it's a massive plastic cup.
It probably, and I'm a little over six foot,
it probably goes to my sternum, would you say?
Yeah.
Could we put it in the back of like scoves truck?
Oh yeah, Amy could get in the cup.
You know, the Cowboys, when they play their game at Thanksgiving,
if somebody scores a touchdown or they win, they jump in to the bell.
The Salvation Pot the kettle.
That's almost what that looks like.
Okay.
So what if we put in the back of the truck and drove it up?
And lunchbox is like, I'm here to fill up my cup.
At Sonic?
Yes.
No.
No, Starbucks.
I understand that.
Why would we go to Sonic?
Because we moved on.
We didn't move on.
We moved on to Sonic.
No, we did it.
That's just a cup.
The story is you can take your own cup to Starbucks.
I'm sorry.
I thought we moved on.
Never mind.
I get it.
Hey, New Year, New Year, New Year.
No.
No, same you.
No, same you.
I'm going to have a little more coffee.
People born with larger heads.
more intelligent according to researchers.
Oh, that's you.
Did you pull the story?
Okay.
This is from molecular psychiatry or research journal
that I often read.
You frequent.
Individuals with large heads have greater brain volume,
which typically leads to more intelligence than their peers.
People with bigger heads also tend to be more successful
in their careers and people with smaller heads.
Those larger heads are also more likely to go
and pursue higher education,
such as college or doctorate.
Then why are cows so dumb?
Eddie, it's human animals.
Oh, not animals?
Wait, are we not going to pile on him for that?
Like I ask son and taking a son and cup.
Look at his head. It's very small.
You don't want to make fun of people.
Yeah, why would you want to make fun of people who just are naturally stupid?
Okay.
Okay, good.
So now I feel better.
You're making fun of me because I'm actually smart.
Yeah, you weren't trying.
Got it.
Yeah, but Eddie's stupid.
Okay.
But like cows are stupid.
Actually, I don't know how they are.
I think cows brains are small.
No.
Compared to the size of their head and just comparison.
I don't know about that.
But they just sit there and just chew.
I think I've eaten cat.
What if they haven't figured out, though?
I think I've been covered before.
Eddie, they're living the life you want to live.
They're just chilling.
Just do nothing all day?
Yeah, they're chilling.
What do you love to have as your life, like, your life meaning just to exist and be happy and not feel any pressures from the world?
Absolutely.
Like that, what if that is the happiest thing that could possibly be a cow?
And what if a cow knows all the, and looks at us like, we're idiots.
Like, why are they trying to buy things they don't like to impress people they don't like?
Correct.
But I think they realize their buddies go missing every, like, year.
Ours do too.
If they're meant for that.
They're all meant for that.
You don't think we're not,
our people aren't dying too?
Yeah.
Look on the news.
But we see them die.
Like them,
they just look around like,
where did Tommy go?
Oh no.
Unless they know that eventually
that's a better place.
They're in a cow simulation.
And that's why they walk around the property
looking for an owl,
but there's barbed wire everywhere.
Maybe they don't want to leave.
Maybe being a cow would rock.
The more attractive of the woman,
the more willing a man is to lie about himself
in order to get a date with her.
From the journal of social and personal relationships,
a recent study found that the prettier a potential date is,
the more likely a man is to lie about his income,
past relationships, professional skills, and attitudes about love.
Not boldface lies, but things like if they're a nurse
and they lean more towards acting.
I mean, this is going to get found out.
Like, say you get a date with her because of this,
then when is the gig up?
Yeah.
Well, you don't want the gig to be up until she likes you.
much. It doesn't care that you lied.
That's right. That's what guys who aren't as good looking have to
attach themselves to, some secondary skill.
Is that possible, though, because that's just straight lying?
At some point, you're going to get caught,
and then you're just a liar.
Women lie, too, because they say they don't care
about money. Once they find out you're broke, they want a second-day.
That's not true.
But not all.
It's a generalization, but, yeah.
I think in general, we as humans
try to present ourselves in a
scenario as positive as possible to get the most as possible
and whatever, and sometimes it involves.
lying to get a potentially better
partner. But you go from nurse to actor?
Well, no, no. You don't know,
you're done to finish.
Oh, I know. That's a stretch, man.
You guys started laughing and I stopped reading the question.
Okay.
Like nurse, but acting like a doctor.
Oh.
Okay.
I just stopped because you guys were having a little.
No, no, no, no.
But still, lies.
Okay, okay.
Lies.
Okay.
I don't, don't lie.
So I'm trying to do.
No, I'm never, I'm not lying to protect anybody here.
I'll still lie.
When you first met Caitlin, did you, you know,
huff anything up?
Oh, that's a good question.
In any of those categories?
I did buy that off the internet.
Pump it up.
That's not what I meant.
What?
I meant like, you know,
add some fluff to your...
No, Amy, just stop.
You know that thing earlier about the cow and the...
Okay.
A gamer, a prodigy 13 years old,
and I was blown away by this story,
not because it's a game,
but because nobody had ever done this until now.
Now, the 13-year-old,
is the first person.
known period to beat Tetris.
Like, ever. Ever.
He's now. He's 13 now.
Like, what level was it? 158 or something?
So, I don't really understand how no one else has done that.
Yeah, why? Why?
Because it's fast.
I think it's so fat. It's right there to the tall.
It's tall and you have no time.
You start panicking? It's hard, man.
The 1988 88 Tetris video game.
He was in Oklahoma. It was live streaming playing it last month
when he achieved what they call a kill screen, which means the end of the game.
I only know kill screen from watching that documentary about Donkey Kong.
Oh, fistful of quarters.
Now, that's a documentary.
That's a good one.
Yeah.
And it's not so much about Donkey Kong.
Donkey Kong is kind of the conduit to get you like human relationships, cheating.
Is it real?
But that's a good one.
But yeah, level 30 is the old one.
157 is a real one.
Yeah, 157 is what I saw.
Yeah.
Level 30 was what people thought was the end.
But that's a big difference.
157.
And then the game, like, imploded.
Like the screen didn't blow up
But the game itself was like, done.
I mean, those shapes were falling fast at that point.
Like just going straight to the bottom.
No, not to the bottom.
I'm thinking it's built up a little bit.
Yeah, but for him to get that far, he had to keep it pretty low.
Yeah, he had to keep it down there on the bottom.
Or was he just so fast and kept in the middle?
Exactly.
We really don't care.
We've invested too much time.
Question, can he start the game back up now or is it dead dead?
No, you start it back up.
It just stops.
Okay.
It just is over.
A lady suits a dentist after going through 32 surgeries in five hours.
Yeah, this is what.
Do you see this?
Yeah, I'm just like, hmm.
So she lawyered up after going to the dentist.
Her name's Kathleen.
She is accusing an oral professional of putting her through 32 different dental procedures in just one five-hour session.
Root Canal, eight dental crowns and no less than 20 fillings.
She also accuses the doctor of using double the recommended dose of anesthetic.
Well, yeah, no, that's good.
I like that.
I'd give them a break.
And now she's been left disfigured and distressed and wants $50,000 in damages.
The doctor has withheld comments.
that's from Audit Central.
I feel like I don't know enough about this story.
I just think that's a lot.
As someone who's been through a lot of dental work
in the past 10, 15 years,
because I didn't get to go to the dentist as a kid.
And I've had two or three root canals at once
or a few fillings and it's a nightmare.
I just can't imagine a dentist going,
you need all this at once.
Right. You would think you would break it up.
Even if she needed all of it.
He had a quota to meet that day or something.
That's what I thought, like a police officer,
who needs to get tickets.
This guy's like, man, I got to do 20.
feelings. I'm just going to do it all in this person.
I haven't done any in the three months. My boss is going to kill me.
And you tell them before you do the surgeries, right?
Like, you're like, all right? We're going to do eight calls.
Or do you just wait to your underneath.
I don't know about that. We're making stuff up at this point.
But I just, I felt if it were like a real dentist and she needed all of that.
My situation would have been and how they've done it is, hey, you need all of this,
but we can't possibly do all of it to you today.
Right.
Yeah, so heads up if a dentist recommends.
I just see if that guy had it, like, owed any gambling money or something.
Right.
I'll give you one more here.
A real estate agent loses $20,000
if you're buying counterfeit sneakers from a teenager.
I have lots of thoughts on this.
An Australian real estate agent who spent nearly $20,000 on sneakers
claims that they're fake.
I saw them that the Dior Nike's.
I know the shoes.
I don't have them, obviously,
because they're crazy, expensive, and stupid.
They're just stupid.
It's just that much money is crazy.
Unless you really like them and you have a whole lot of money.
But to me, that's stupid.
There is no way.
And they say Dior on the bottom.
And then they're white with kind of gray, and they have Dior written on the Nike, on the swoosh.
They're Jordan ones, if that matters.
Just wonder if they're okay.
Okay, cool.
So he bought them.
He paid the money, and they're unauthentic.
I guess he had them checked.
Well, yeah, if I'm suiting that much, I need.
That's the thing.
If you're getting on anything.
Yeah, it's not like you're buying it on Facebook.
marketplace. You better be going to a like legit
store. Call the guy from Pond Stars. He's got a guy
for everything. That's true.
Who's that dude? I don't know.
I forget his name, but I remember I ran
in Chumley. I had a cereal box from 19-7.
I got a guy for the, I got a Lucky Charming guy.
Let me call him in.
It sucks that the kid was taking advantage
of him. Rick Harrison.
That's his name.
The Ponsor's guy? Yeah. Lunchbox didn't
run into him at Chumley somewhere. Yeah, I ran into him at the
Cromwell in Las Vegas. It was like 4 a.m.
and I'm walking one way.
Chum Lee's walking next straight towards me.
I'm like, Chum!
Chum!
He walked right by me.
He didn't yell Lee.
It's not like boomer sooner.
And then I said, and then I went back out there.
I was, Chum!
Let me get a picture.
Oh, heck yeah, man.
I was inabricated.
And it's 4 a.m.
And I was like, Chum, let me get a picture.
He goes, I'm not trying to draw attention to me tonight.
I'm like, dude, it's 4 a.m.
There ain't anyone around.
Let me get a picture.
No picture.
No picture.
Thanks, Joe.
That's the news.
Those were.
Bodies.
Stories.
A win is a win.
A win is a win.
I don't care what I'm saying.
Yep, that's me.

I felt like I got hit by a truck.
I thought, how could this happen to me?
The cops didn't seem to care.
So they take matters into their own hands.
I said, oh, hell no.
I vowed. I will be his last target.
He's going to get what he deserves.
Listen to the Girlfriends.
Trust me, babe.
On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcast.
I'm Ego Wadam.
My next guest, you know from Step Brothers Anchorman, Saturday Night Live,
and The Big Money Players Network.
It's Will Ferrell.
Woo.
Woo.
My dad gave me the best advice ever.
I went and had lunch with them one day.
And I was like, and Dad, I think I want to really give this a shot.
I don't know what that means, but I just know the groundlings.
I'm working my way up through, and I know it's a place they come look for up and coming talent.
Yeah.
It would not be.
Right, it wouldn't be that.
There's a lot of luck.
Listen to Thanks, Dad, on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
We're back alive.
I have two things I want to talk about this segment.
One is the show possibly being sued, and two is a station trying to get me to say the F word.
Two different things.
Oh, my.
So I'll start with the sued.
I don't know about this story yet, so I feel like I can ask questions about it.
Is scuba Steve in the bathroom?
He's here.
Okay.
So I literally know nothing.
So I'm asking, and I'm going to be told about it after this segment is over,
things that he won't be able to reveal here.
So when I ask, it's from a place of absolute ignorance.
Scooper, we almost sued over the break, almost.
We were almost.
I had to dig through about three to four days worth of evidence to acquit us from going that next door.
Quit us.
It's a good word.
What we do?
I don't know, and I don't know that he can tell us.
Only he knows.
So what can you tell us?
What I just said and then I can tell you everything later.
Wait, like what is it dealing with?
Like tell us on air later?
Is it something that somebody said?
Nothing that you guys said, but you were involved in it because you're the host of the show.
Oh yeah.
I mean, buck stops here with me for sure.
Yeah.
But, okay.
So was it a segment we did that was illegal?
No, well, no, it wasn't.
Oh, I don't know.
How close do we get to, okay, I don't want to get you in trouble either.
Yeah.
How close do we get to being sued?
Very close, but the evidence that I had stated in our defense.
Evidence is hilarious.
I don't know if evidence would be the word.
But it was during my vacation, too.
I was also a little perturbed by it that I had to spend three to four days on my time off to do this.
But I knew that it was for the greater good.
Like legal was involved here?
Oh, yeah.
I was on the Zoom call people I never knew ever existed.
Wow.
And I've been here for over 15 years.
Is there a chance that some people or one person or any of us was fired from the show?
If it went against us, yeah, for sure.
I would have probably lost my job.
So, so was on you.
There were names.
Bobby would never lose his job over anything.
I've seen people on radio do all kinds of crazy stuff and get away with it.
You'd have been fine.
No, no, no, we don't say that because that's automatic jinx.
Don't say that crap.
What's wrong with you?
No, I have your back.
There have been a lot of times where we could have gotten trouble when I got us out of it.
He's saying he'll take the ball for you.
Wow, what he's saying is he wants to be employee in the month for this.
I don't need to employ the month ever.
Employee of my lifetime.
Okay.
So, but you can tell me off the ear.
Yeah, I can tell you because you should know.
But again, when I tell you, it's not for anyone else.
It's just for you and I only.
Maybe your wife.
Your wife.
Wait.
Okay.
Does wife have to do anything?
Well, I tell my wife a lot of things.
Okay, got it.
That kind of relationship we have, yeah.
Okay, let me just ask this.
Last question, because I know you can't say a lot.
I don't put you in a bad place.
Yeah.
Was there a chance that somebody other than myself or you would have been fired?
I don't think so because they would have pinned it just on me and then you
But somebody else was involved
I mean all of us were involved in some way
Wow what did you guys do?
Didn't it hurt somebody?
Man we would have had to testify
But did we not do it?
Were we falsely accused?
Yeah, we did not do it at all.
Let's go, I knew it.
We were 100% falsely accused.
Get Disney Plus on the phone.
We need a movie about this.
So we're clear.
We fought back.
We're in the clear 100%.
We don't know we fought back from but we fought and I don't know what it is
And because I'm asking these questions.
Okay, I'm done asking, but I'll find out from you later.
And what were you told by the higher ups?
To not even talk about it.
Well, that's on me then.
Wow.
Do they say don't talk about it to me?
They said to kind of keep it under wraps and just it's done.
Let's move on from it.
But I have to tell you.
Were they mad?
At first they were like, they were very, I guess they were not coming out of saying it was our fault.
But they're like, we feel like you could pull evidence to.
go in your direction to save you and we need it immediately.
Stop what you're doing.
I'm like, all right, well, I will and I'll get it to you.
Dang.
And if I couldn't find it, then we probably would be screwed and we would, I don't know,
we would not come back from vacation.
Wow.
Okay.
I can't wait to find out.
Yeah.
Me too.
It'll be best up for a while.
There'll be no trace of us if we were gone.
Yeah, true.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah.
Like, that's it, just over?
Bring somebody in, the end.
Oh, man.
They just play music for a while.
They just play music.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
A thousand songs an hour or something like that.
Yeah.
So, okay.
Well, thank you, scuba.
You're welcome.
I almost want to go, guys.
I just don't know about it.
But I don't.
I'm going to wait.
I'm going to finish the segment.
So what happens here in the morning before we go on the air?
I don't know.
I spend, depending on the day, upwards of an hour, reading, station liners, commercials,
all the stuff that you may hear on your local affiliate that will not be broadcasted nationally.
And Amy, you weren't in here this morning.
but what we were doing was I was debating if I wanted to do this one specific liner.
Sometimes the stuff they send me doesn't make sense for me to do.
Or if it's like an alcohol thing.
Like I love alcohol for you guys to have a day for me.
So I'm not going to be like, I love whiskey.
I never had whiskey.
So it's nothing like that.
But for example, there's a station WBSZ.
Can I read some of these scuba?
Like none of these are markets were not supposed to let people know where on yet, right?
WBSZ.
It's from Northwood.
It doesn't matter.
I mean, are we, it doesn't matter.
And I'll be like, hey, everybody, I'll just do a demonstration.
It's Bobby Bones on Case 101, Austin.
And so they would take that and they'd play it locally.
So here's one, and I think it's hilarious, but it just didn't feel right to me.
So Hot Country Mornings with Tracy Lynn, I guess,
and we're on the air in the evening in Canada from 6 to 10 p.m.
on a station called Hot Country 88.5.
Big shout out to all our Canadian friends.
But they wanted me to say this.
and then I'll tell you how I ended up doing it.
Hey, Bobby Volunteer, wake the fun up.
It's hot country mornings with Tracy Lynn.
Now, what they want, it's almost like, wake the fun up, wake the fun up.
Shut the front door.
Yeah, like that type of thing.
Or, right, because that's what I think.
Or is it just like, wake the fun up.
Oh, no, no.
Right, because what I did is I say, wake the fun up.
That's perfect.
Yeah.
What do you think they wanted?
They wanted the F word, man.
Because I think so too.
Or like, wake the fun up!
Yeah, fun!
No, no, no.
Or is it like wake the fun up?
No, it's like the fun has been asleep.
It's time to wake up.
Wait, so Amy, you don't think it's the...
You don't think it's the...
You don't think it's the...
A play on the word?
I mean, I'm sure it's probably a little play, but...
Okay, but what's the most play?
Like, wake...
If it was like, wake up with fun, I would say,
you know, that's them just going,
we're trying to achieve fun in the mornings
with Tracy Lynn.
But I'm like,
wake the fun up.
Mother funner.
Mother funners.
Yeah.
That's definitely what they're trying to do.
You should have said that.
That would have been so funny.
So I did.
What the funner you love to?
Exactly.
And I wouldn't just say it because it felt cheesy.
But then I felt like it was so,
there's a point where it can be so cheesy that's funny.
So I was like, I read it the first time.
I was like, hey, Bob, I don't you?
Wake the fun up.
And I was like, I told Kevin, kick off Kevin.
I'm like, I'm not, I'm not really.
this. That feels too cheesy. And I was like,
unless I said, Bobby Bones
here, you wake the fun up.
We sent on
that one. We'll see if they use it.
But my question to you guys,
is it an F word play or it's like
we're just talking about fun?
I got to see the person that wrote it.
I know. Well, you're not going to have that.
Can you see if you can get a hold of whoever
this is, Guba?
CKDX is the station.
Oh yeah, that's a new affiliate outside of
Toronto. I believe we start this week.
Country 88, 5, weekdays from 6 to 10.
That's them.
Oh, I don't know when we're on.
Night?
Night.
Yeah, because.
I'm not affiliate, yeah.
Okay.
But obviously, they're a very fun morning.
Oh, for sure.
Yeah, holy fun they are.
This makes you think about how my son the other day I said something to him and he goes,
no dip.
Oh, that's not that.
He said ship that have been funnier.
Okay.
Thank you.
No dip is okay.
Yeah, but it's obviously.
Because you would say freaking as a kid.
And what is that?
It's just substitute for that.
True. Okay. No dip isn't even close.
Okay.
Like if you were like, grab all my dip.
That's too hard.
Like that would be close, but not that one.
Okay. So I should be cool.
Yeah, so you should just shut the fun up.
So scary.
Yeah.
Okay, we won't do that joke anymore.
I'm not going to try it. Yeah, don't. Don't.
Yeah, you'll mess it up, dude. Don't do it.
By the way, again, I'll say it again.
If you guys, we've been gone for a long time.
So if you want to call us, if you have anything you want to say, anything you want to ask,
87777.
77 Bobby.
That's our phone number.
877-B-O-B-Y. Hold on a minute.
All right, by the numbers, I walk 13 miles over our vacation,
meaning I really took that time.
I still went to like some classes and stuff and did like core or stretch,
but I wasn't going to do anything high impact on like my joints,
which is weird because I'm 43 and I never thought there'd be a day where I'm like,
I need to give myself a break, even when I don't give myself a break.
So I just walked on the treadmill.
I put the incline.
The incline on like 12.
That's high.
That's a mountain, dude.
It seems like that'd be hard on your joints.
I know it sucks.
I should have done that because it sucks.
I was like, well, this is too easy.
So like my tendons on the sides of my legs,
it's been killing me.
So I did that and I would do it for 30 minutes a day and just walk.
So I walked 13 miles over the break.
But my knees feel good.
For you.
Hips feel good.
Always training.
You never know.
Yep.
Never know what?
What's going to happen?
I watched five movies over the break.
Wow.
Do you want to hear what I watched?
Yes?
I checked out with Mike a lot too to be like, is this good?
Mike's a pretty good indicator on if it's something that he likes,
something that I like, or something that people will like, general people.
Like movie mics and movie podcast is good even about that.
Like he'll go, you will like it, most people don't.
Or you will not like it, most people do.
But I hit him up and I watched.
First I watch Priscilla, which was the movie about Elvis's wife.
Yeah, Priscilla Presley.
You know, I guess I forgot.
They got divorced later in life.
Oh, yeah. Well, he was, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
In the middle of his career.
Yeah.
I guess I just thought they died and, I don't know.
Now and she's still alive.
Yeah, she's still alive.
Yeah.
So anyway, you know, it gets an 83% positive on Rotten Tomatoes.
I thought it was pretty good.
Okay.
Here's the problem.
And I did a podcast by myself and you can go find it on the Bobbycast where I talked about this at length.
I thought it was pretty good.
It was an interesting story about Priscilla based on her, on the book,
it was written about her life.
her point of view. And she was part of one of the producers. And Mike, you can come to a microphone
and correct me because I'll just say wrong stuff without knowing it. But she was 14 and she was
in Germany. Elvis was in Germany. He had been drafted. Already was very successful. But, you know,
for them, they want to draft somebody to show you can go in the military like Elvis. And they made
sure he didn't die because that had been terrible PR. So he had a very easy job in the military.
And he was 24. Yeah, 24. She was 14. And I guess.
there were just not a lot of American girls
or it was like the late 50s
but some guy comes up and like, hey, you should come over
to Elvis's house with us
and she's 14.
And so he goes over and they make the story to where
Elvis is like, but mom I just don't think
we should be doing this physical stuff
until later on. But they were
like together a lot
as she was 14, 15 years old, right?
Yeah, I think it's crazy that he was
already a superstar when this is happening.
And purpose,
I mean that purposefully the government did that.
to show that anybody can be drafted.
Oh, yeah.
And you should be drafted like Elvis.
But, so she's 14 and 15 years old
hanging out with the 24, 25 year old dude.
And it's a different time.
I get it, the late 50s, but I don't get it
because I'm not in the late 50s.
So that to me, and my wife was like, man,
that just feels creepy.
I'm like, yeah, me too.
How long until they got married?
So, well, how old was she not getting married?
I think, yeah, 19.
And she, but she moved, Elvis adopted her.
Right?
Yeah, she stayed in Germany for a while.
Yeah.
And then, like, a couple of years later,
they reconnected and then she moved to the States.
So, and she couldn't move from her parents unless like Elvis or like Elvis's parents,
because they were still very heavily involved in his life.
Like, what was like her?
Guardian?
Sure.
Okay.
And make sure she went to school.
Yes, because she had to move.
She went to Graceland and went to school as a high school student when she was living
with Elvis.
So there was a lot of, a lot of creep stuff that felt.
Wow.
So, um, I liked it.
But I thought the movie was pretty good.
What's it on?
I don't know.
I think we just,
bought it on the Amazon.
Yeah, you can rent it.
Yeah, we rented it.
Okay.
So I give it
three and a half side burns.
Oh, Elvis sideburn.
Out of five.
It just,
I'm glad that she was involved in it
because I wouldn't have believed some of it.
I'd have been like 14,
there's no way.
But it would show like Elvis at war,
finger quotes,
and like all his buddies are at the house,
I'm a whole lot of shaking going on with here.
Just like jamming out and drinking, having a good time.
In Germany?
Yeah, you know, war.
So I watch,
I watch Priscilla.
I watched
Leave the World Behind
You guys watched Leave the World Behind
On Netflix
A lot of people are talking about
It's like a trending movie
Julia Roberts is in it
Oh I've seen the little
Whatever
A picture?
Yeah, advertisement
Good?
It's awesome
What?
Okay, I'm definitely watching
Yeah, I write that down
But I will say
My friend George
George Burge by the way
Who had a number one song
Over the break
But I'm super proud of him
It's awesome dude
George and I were together
Yeah, George and I were together and he said
That movie was not for me
I'm not gonna say why he goes I didn't like it
It's stupid
And I was just so intrigued I texted Mike
And Mike was even like
You know some some do some don't
I loved it
And then I loved the community that exists
After it
This is about the end of the world
It's called leave the world behind
What do you think it's about guys?
Barney the dinosaurs
creation
Going to space for a little bit
They wake up and this
simulator? No. So, leave the world behind. I give it four and a half out of five shotguns.
Mike, what were your thoughts on it? I liked about 60% of the movie. Overall, I think it's an
entertaining movie. It's one that people should watch. You're going to feel one way about it or the other.
The movie part, you may be, you may hate part of the movie, but you'll feel. I think most people
are just upset with the part of the movie. Yeah, and that kind of influence is how you feel about the movie.
But I love that part of the movie.
hated that part of the movie. Okay, fair enough.
I watched the leftovers.
Holdovers. Thank you.
I like that about food. I never watch movies, man. So I, you get the names wrong. The holdovers.
That movie has the guy from Sideways and WNBC.
Paul Diomadi. Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah.
WNBC.
He's a man on the moon, too.
He is. So he is a teacher at a private school, and he has to stay during the Christmas break
because somebody has to stay back every time to stay with the kids who do.
can't go home for some reason.
I didn't really, I knew it was happening during Christmas,
but I didn't really feel like it was going to be a Christmas movie.
My wife did, and she was like, that's a good Christmas movie.
And I was like, oh, so that was, I think you can watch it anytime.
It's slow, but when it's over, after it finished, I loved it.
There was never a time when I'm watching it that I was like, I just can't get it enough.
I liked it.
It was fun to move, like, it's developed.
After it's over, you just have this feeling of like, I love that.
movie and what it left me feeling
like. Your thoughts? Yeah, one of the best dramatic
comedies I've seen in a long time. But don't think
comedy because I did. I was ready to get to laughing.
There's no laugh. There's no laugh. I was like
a comedy without laughing? So
dramatic comedy means
it's a drama, yeah. It's just stuff
that happens. Cometic elements, but it's not like
I'm going to laugh so much of this movie. I was ready
to watch a freaking Chapel special.
But it was, I give it
four and a half out of
five snowflakes. Wow.
And what's it called? The what?
Holdovers.
The holdovers.
Okay.
So it was great.
Dumb money.
Mike told me to watch Dumb Money.
Dumb money is about, it's like two or three years ago whenever everybody started
buying up the stock from GameStop.
Oh.
Like buy it and GameStop, you know, pretty much a worthless company.
People thought it's a video game store in the mall.
But everybody started buying it.
I did not realize how long that went and how everybody just kept holding it, holding it.
It went from like a $4 stock to like worth over $100, $200, to $200.
People made millions of dollars.
But it's that real story and how people that were.
We're trying to short it.
But it's got a massive acting lineup.
Seth Rogen plays, not a bad guy,
but like a guy that is an investor who wants it to fail.
So he starts losing money.
Paul Dano is the main guy.
Paul Dano.
That dude's awesome.
Don't even know where I know him from.
Couldn't get enough of him.
He was in the last Batman movie.
That's right.
His wife was also famous in that movie.
This one?
Oh, no, yeah.
It's the woman from the home.
Shaley.
Shailie Woodley.
There's a lot of people in it.
it's really, I give it four out of five.
Pete Davidson's in it?
Yeah, he plays the brother.
I give it four out of five Reddit pages.
It's good.
I think you guys will all like that one.
And you'll learn about that.
You don't have to even know anything about stocks.
Well, why can't lunchbox sign us a deal like this with our money?
Well, the guy, that's not, what happened is, I can kind of give the story.
It's history, right?
Yeah.
The kid, the young man, it was like COVID was happening.
And they wore masks sometimes just to keep reminding you what the time period was.
but the kid was like,
I really believe in GameStop as a stock.
And he didn't have a bunch of money,
but he had just started,
he just graduated college,
we just started being in finance.
And he only had $50,000,
they have a new baby.
And he goes,
I'm putting it all in GameStop.
But he does like a little internet show.
And...
Yeah, he would show like all those spreadsheets from all this stuff.
He'd be super transparent.
And people were like, okay, so they started talking up.
Well, then they realized, as it went up,
some people had bet against it.
And they were like, oh, let's just stick it to the
Man.
I didn't know that's how this worked.
So it's called shorting a stock.
You want it to bail out.
So the higher one up, all these really rich hedge fund guys were just losing their butts.
And the story became huge.
And then everybody saw.
Then it was when are they going to sell?
Because if it bottoms out, they lose all their money.
Okay, so lunchbox, make a little show, show all your spreadsheets.
Okay.
Maybe you can explain it to me.
I don't want to because I'm going to mess up and I'm running out of time.
Oh, dang.
But we can't.
We can do it in the post show.
Thank you.
We're doing the post show.
And then I watched a movie called They Cloned Tyrone.
What?
Let's go.
Mike, have you seen that?
Oh, yeah, that's a good way.
It's awesome, man.
I forgot to tell you about that one.
Oh, my God.
Jamie Fox is in it?
It's on Netflix.
Oh, dude, I was, I had sick during the break.
Like, I had, like, RSV or something or whatever, some sort of flu.
All I know is a bath had to be drawn.
That's what we heard.
Multiple baths, but yeah.
So it's a show where this guy's a drug dealer, like in a not in a great part of town.
and Jamie Fox is a pimp
and it's like not good news where they live
and at first year it's like kind of get to know them
and it feels like man
it's not the kind of life I'd want to live obviously
and then you start it starts to unwrap
it's awesome I don't know if everybody loves it
my wife loved it and she's not in a movie like I am
as much like the weirdo ones
so is it they cloned Tyrone
yeah that's it oh I had less cloned
95% on rotten tomato
4.5. Okay, good. Sometimes these movies that I like,
I just, I don't universally recommend
because I think people won't like exactly what I like.
I give it 4.5. I would do 5,
but I give it 4.5 pimps at 5.
Wow.
Ray said I have one minute left. I read two full books.
I have two.
Two full books. That's a lot.
Yeah, that's a lot, man.
Two dogs still alive.
I did three podcasts.
I did, anyway, I'm out of time.
Thank you, bye.
Bobby Bone Show.
Boney up the day.
This story comes us from Wisconsin.
A 57-year-old woman showed up to get an MRI.
You know what I mean?
They said, do you have anything in your pockets, anything on your body?
You need to take it out.
She's like, I'm good.
They slide her in the MRI machine.
The only problem, she has a gun on her.
Oh, no.
And they have very strong magnets in the MRI machine.
God.
And those magnets caused.
The trigger to poo!
What?
And it.
Shot her in the butt.
What?
First of all, any MRI I've gotten, and I've had to have a few over the last few years,
I have to get in a gown.
Yeah, you're no clothes.
She's strapped and in jeans?
That's the one where you lay down and you go through the tunnel.
You have to be so still.
And he goes, gong, gong, gong, gong.
Oh, I know.
Maybe she put the gown on, but she had a holster.
Maybe she had one of those holsters.
It's like a garter belt?
Yes.
Oh.
Yeah.
I don't think about that.
Just in case somebody busts in while he's getting in.
Yeah.
Okay. Luckily she didn't die. Or luckily no one got undead, undelived.
That's it. All right, there you go.
I'm Lunchbox. That's your Bonehead story of the day.
You're not going to be a horoscope person, are you?
No. I just thought it would be fun because it's, you know, New Year.
But that's how it starts. What's happening?
Well, Amy's sending me my horoscope. I read one word. There's no reason to believe the horoscope.
As long as you're going to have for entertainment, it's all good.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's what this is. Entertainment.
So you're going to feel progressively more secure as the month of January, 2024, goes on.
With what?
My sexuality?
Your career.
Got it.
Yeah.
You're going to have six weeks of productivity and success.
This month?
That's about right.
Six weeks of productivity in a month?
It's like every day.
It's going to bleed into February.
Oh, this is a whole year?
No.
This is for January, but you're getting, this is, I'm giving you.
See, that's what I'm saying.
You can't go six weeks in a January horse go.
Okay.
Focus on igniting your professional prowess and showing it all.
around the new moon.
January 11th.
Okay.
So January 11th, you really need to like.
Show it, dude.
Show it off.
January 11th and 7B.
That's career-wise.
And then when it comes to love and relationships from now until January 23rd,
your love life is on fire.
Yeah.
It says if only you'd stop working for a hot minute.
Hold on second.
Caitlin, you're there.
I just got news.
My loins are burning until the 23rd.
I'm like, yeah.
I'm on the way home now.
What's up?
But do you see how this definitely applies to you?
Why are you vomiting, dude?
If only you'd stop working for a hot minute.
And then it says you may embrace new ideas about what it means to be in a relationship,
leaning heavily into adventure, openness, and spiritual alignment.
I don't know about the openness part.
I kind of like our closed relationship, to be honest.
I know.
I don't think it means open relationship.
Everything's sexuality.
I kind of like to.
Okay, well, thanks.
No problem.
There's your horse, my horse goat boy.
Just not a big horse goat person, although I have been watching a lot of Bashar.
What's Bashar?
Don't worry about it.
Well, you have to explain.
Don't worry about another day, another dollar, you know what I mean?
Bashar.
Sounds like a show.
Yeah.
I'm surprised you don't, Amy.
Uh-oh.
Spell it.
Uh-uh.
All right, well, Morgan, what's on the podcast for today?
Katie Offerman was on with us talking about how the show had a role in her opening for George Strait.
She's great.
All right, what else?

A lot of people contributed
except for Amy and lunchbox.

It's vacation. Y'all didn't do podcasts on your
break, Amy? I'm just kidding. It's vacation.
No, I didn't do one.
Exactly. I'm just giving them a hard time. You don't have to.
Yeah, I mean, I don't know what you guys did a podcast for.
You didn't do on lunch? You don't have to.
I feel no need to defend myself.
I've put together best of.
Exactly. Rock and Roll Hoochoo.
Usually lunchbox does one with his family.
You didn't do that this year?
Oh, I did do one with my dad.
Oh, well, there you go.
Yeah, see, now that I think about it, I did do one.
So you're saying, Amy is the only one.
Oh, no.
You guys say, I don't work hard.
I'm actually proud of myself.
I knew Eddie would.
Thank you.
Always, man.
Boom.
Now this is just turning out of us making fun of each other.
We're out of here.
Thank you guys.
