On the new podcast Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a
Starting point is 00:00:31 on his motorcycle. I chose option B. I'm Julie Pinero, and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word Solita, trading the pity for possibility. Listen to Solita on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I survived nine months in captivity, and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them. I'm Elizabeth Smart, and these are the Survivor Files.
Starting point is 00:01:08 Every week, I'm with survivors who live through the unthinkable, abducted, stalked, controlled, and nearly silenced. These are stories about what it takes to make it out alive. Listen to the Survivor Files with Elizabeth Smart on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. So by age 11 or so, at least 70% have a phone. I'm Dr. Joy, and this is Therapy for Black Girls. We spend our surviving middle school run getting into what's happening inside your kids' brain, the group chats, and their friendships, and what you can do about it.
Starting point is 00:01:42 Your child is not doing this on purpose. That's the kind of perspective we've been pulling from the psychologists and psychiatrists who studied this for a living. Listen to Therapy for Black Girls on the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Self-care September is your reminder to slow down, check in with yourself, get off your phone, and maybe ask, why am I? I like this. I'm Jemisbeg, host of the Psychology of Your 20s podcast, and this month, we're helping you make sense of the person that you are becoming, from setting boundaries and navigating friendships to understanding anxiety, confidence, relationships, and attachment. Sometimes our biggest decisions, without us even realizing it, aren't driven by what we truly
Starting point is 00:02:25 want, but by what will prevent us from feeling lonely or being alone. Listen to the psychology of your 20s on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Wake up, you wake up in the morning. And then you turn the radio on and the dial just keeps on turn. Then you're here, ready, and me lunchbox, that it's trying to put you through. Mike is writing this week's next bit. And Bobby's on the mic so you know what this is the Bobby Bones. I'll lose my pin every time I do this too
Starting point is 00:03:15 You might be sitting on it I think I saw it earlier It's all the way in my butt I don't even realize it's completely all the way in my butt Like it might have fallen in the back Or in the crack? Yeah on the crack back there Mike we just...
Starting point is 00:03:27 Oh it's in the crack It's back there? No of mine Okay My crack All right I lose my stupid pin every time Hey so we had a murder in our building
Starting point is 00:03:35 Which is crazy This happened Monday Labor Day Scuba Steve saw the body. And we were so just blown away by just the act of that happening here that we kind of passed over the fact that Scuba now thinks he's possessed. Scuba Steve is our executive producer. And Scuba thinks that since he was above where the guy was shot, that his body went into his body.
Starting point is 00:04:00 Oh my gosh. And I am not kidding. This is not a joke in that he believes it. Scuba, true or false? Yeah, my energy is. very different from, I'm sure seeing a dead body doesn't help with any of this. And even when I left work yesterday, it was the first time my entire life I've been afraid to leave somewhere, especially my place of work.
Starting point is 00:04:20 Like, I booked it to my car and got the hell out of here. Did you park somewhere different this morning? I don't park on P5 anymore. I saw his truck somewhere else. He parks on my floor now. That's being irrational. No, it's not. Parking your car in a different spot?
Starting point is 00:04:32 No, I wouldn't want to go back to where I saw a dead body. I think trauma affects people in a lot of ways. and I don't think trauma and being rational have a great relationship. Correct. Scoob, Steve, do you think that his spirit, the guy that was killed, is in you? I don't know if at this moment, but for a while I felt very different from how I normally felt. Okay, but describe it, please, because again, our listeners heard you say that you think his spirit went into your body. I felt like dealing drugs.
Starting point is 00:05:03 I mean, he was a drug drug. I'm just kidding. This is where he's losing me. I have a lot of, I hate this for scuba that he saw the dead body and that sucks, but then when he starts to talk about the body lifting up into him or now he wants to deal drugs. I was kidding about the deal in drugs thing. I was just messing around. Which I mean, humor is one way to deal with trauma.
Starting point is 00:05:21 So what, really, what do you think happened? With his spirit? Yes. I don't know. I felt like for a moment there because I had that same thing happened to me in San Francisco where something entered me and I felt this overwhelming sadness for absolutely no reason. You're laughing at our lunchbox. You're the guy with the whole stupid closet store you tell every six months.
Starting point is 00:05:37 Yeah, he stole the closet. Yeah. Go ahead. So, again, if you're new to the show, Scuba believes with his whole heart that he had another ghost to go inside of him for a while. Tell that story. Yeah. So it was in San Francisco, and I was living in Nob Hill, which is where the great fire and the earthquake happened in the early 1900s. And my building was part of that.
Starting point is 00:06:00 And there was allegedly a lot of spirits that were in that area where I lived. And one day I was going to work super early in the morning, like three o'clock. the morning and I was having a great day. I was excited. It was a normal day. I loved what I did. And I got my car and as I was walking to it, I felt this weird, overwhelming amount of sadness come over my body. And I'm in the car and I'm happy, but then I'm not. And then I'm driving to work and I'm like crying. Tears are coming out of my eyes and I don't feel like myself. It was the weirdest feeling ever and I couldn't shake it. And I was trying to figure out, why do I feel this way? And the moment I got to work. I opened up the car door and it was like this like bursts of energy come off my body.
Starting point is 00:06:40 And then it was almost like dramatically like the tears went away. Everything was fine. And my life was back to normal? And I'm like, was I a vessel for this spirit to leave that place that it could not leave for a hundred years and then finally got the chance to. So I wonder if your body's naturally a vessel and the guy that was murdered here, vessel do you? Oh, because he's been a vessel before it recognizes. Maybe so. Yeah, and with Native American roots, I don't have something to do with that.
Starting point is 00:07:07 You know, being closer to the land. I've always been that way. Okay, so where are you today? Now, we're Native American. Shut the hell up. Where am I today? I mean, I'm still, it's a weird feeling to have. Like I said, I left work yesterday, afraid.
Starting point is 00:07:21 And you hear the gunshots in my head. And whenever I close my eyes, I see a dead body. So mentally, I'm a little bit messed up. I don't honestly want to be here right now. But I am. I have a job. I have to suck it. into it.
Starting point is 00:07:34 He did see a dead body, guys. He saw the dead body. No, I know. And that's what I felt terrible about. But then he talks about being a vessel. Here's the deal. What? So yesterday I was doing a murder tour with some people around the building.
Starting point is 00:07:43 Stop calling it a murder tour. I was just showing people kind of where the whole thing happened. It was just me and you and Ray rolled up. That was it. It was some people. And so Scuba is like, it's crazy because this happened right above my studio, right below my studio. And I go, Scooby, your studio is on the other side of the building, dude. Like, you're not even close to where this happened.
Starting point is 00:08:00 It was right around the corner. And then we figured out. Oh, yeah, yeah, it was definitely down the way. Okay, so Scuba, I feel bad for you, and if you need to have some time to go talk to a therapist or just get your mind right, you always have it. You know our rule if you don't feel good. You don't have to come in.
Starting point is 00:08:17 A therapist or like a medium? Whatever he needs to do. Okay. Do we need to bring somebody in and do the Ouija board? I mean. No, I'm not into that. Eddie also thinks he's not into that. He's not into that.
Starting point is 00:08:31 There's a board game. It's silly. I'm not doing something like that. This is silly. Eddie also thinks he should be in forensics. Guys, I'm telling you, when I was doing this tour, because Scoop was just showing me like, yeah, this is where I saw the body. And then I started looking around like, guys, there must be bullet holes.
Starting point is 00:08:45 I found, like, how many bullet holes, guys, 10 bullet holes? We ended up finding gun shells, bullets, actual bullets. I found all these things that the cops missed. Wait, yeah, shouldn't the shells have been collected? Great question. I could take it to you right. I took pictures of them and everything. It's just so crazy.
Starting point is 00:09:04 There was a murder in our building. Crazy. It's so crazy. So when you're saying this, I still have to go. There was a murder right next to us in our building. And then Mike had a really good idea yesterday. He's like, should we do a podcast called murders in the building? Stop it.
Starting point is 00:09:20 Stop it. I mean, that's what happened to them. It's weird that you found bullets. Yeah, but there's casings. Like you would think everything would have been collected. So I would think, yeah, you would take all that into evidence. I mean, Guys, there are cars still parked there with bullet holes in them.
Starting point is 00:09:36 No way. I'm telling you, we can make you on a murder tour. I will take you today as soon as we're done. I do not want to derail at all, but every time Eddie says bullets, it's funny to me. Amy, English is my second language. That's not what I'm making fun of. It's cute. Did you contact the cops and say, hey, man, there's more bullets?
Starting point is 00:09:53 That's another thing. I saw in the news story that Crime Stoppers is offering $5,000 for a reward to find these people. How many cars have bullet holes in that? them. Now you're being rude. What? I would say two. Really? And they probably can't leave. No, one of them left. Oh.
Starting point is 00:10:10 Because I was doing one tour and then when I came upstairs and do some work. Why are you doing multiple tours? Because people want to see this stuff and I'm like, I know exactly where it is. Well, I would want to see it. I'm saying. I can't believe you're the tour leader of what time do you want to do the tour today. Okay. It's time for the good news.
Starting point is 00:10:30 With lunchbox. Stay home. It's something good. There are 200 first responders from New York that are participating in a ride called the Ride for Resilience. They're riding 343 miles from Boston to Ground Zero to honor the 343 FDNY people that passed away in 9-11. Anyway, when you guys went to New York, did you take your kid to that? He didn't really want to see the whole memorial thing because I was like, man, we really need to check that out. But we saw the new building, kind of went by the area.
Starting point is 00:11:04 But he had a few questions and then kind of moved on. He's also way young. Yeah, he's 13. Yeah, to know or to have experience it like we did. Yeah, I think the thing that really got on, though, was telling them, like, when that happened, you know, people didn't really know what was happening. So they weren't really trying to get it too far away from it. But when the first building fell, like, people couldn't breathe. All that debris came up.
Starting point is 00:11:27 People were trying to get into businesses and stuff like that. So when I told them all that, it kind of. hit him like, wow, this is way bigger than I thought it was. Did you go to it? Yes, I've been. Do we go together? I don't know. I don't remember who I went with, but I've definitely gone. Me too. And I don't remember either. What if we don't remember together? You guys went to the memorial? The actual memorial? Man, I went. Possibly together. We don't know. Well, we used to go to New York all the time for work, but. The first time I went to New York was, I mean, the February after 9-11. So I saw the hole in the ground. And, true.
Starting point is 00:12:01 trucks moving stuff still like I saw all that. Well, it was crazy. Well, all of it. But looking back, they shut down all flights for days. If you were somewhere, you just got, you were just stuck in a different city. You didn't get about it. That's wild. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:17 I mean, even being on a college campus, like everything was like the every, like, yeah, air was shut down. But we were shut down. Like, there was no classes. I can't remember how long it lasted. But it was like everybody just felt like they could be the next target. Yeah. You're right because you're talking about didn't know. Nobody knew.
Starting point is 00:12:35 That's a great point if it was going to be nobody. A university, like wherever. So everything was just locked down. Yeah. And you know what's cool? It was put on by the friends of the firefighters and Livestrong. Oh, that's the whole thing? That's what I said.
Starting point is 00:12:48 Well, the Lance Armstrong Foundation. I thought once Lance was bad. I thought it went away. Like, I thought it would be like good for them. But it had, I mean, sure there's a whole board and it's bigger than that. Like, it was such a movement. Yeah, but it was him and he's like not good. Yeah, but they probably like just scooted him out.
Starting point is 00:13:06 No, I'm glad. Yeah, it's awesome. But it was just, it was built off lies. It was built. That's crazy. Yeah. It's still was able to do a lot of good. Yeah, but the foundation did, yeah, good stuff.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Yeah. Were they riding bikes? Yeah, they're riding bikes. That's cool. 343 miles. Don't you think cycle bikes because Livestrong? Yeah, yeah. Well, now, but he didn't say that at the beginning.
Starting point is 00:13:30 Oh, you thought. Well, when he just said ride, I don't know, I could have been anything, tricycles, horses. Yeah, I could have been motorcycles. Yeah, but then when he said Livestrong, I said bikes. Got it. Yeah. Don't we hating? Sorry.
Starting point is 00:13:41 What's wrong with you? That was a little aggressive. I'm sorry. All right, that's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. A guy in Illinois won a million bucks on a lottery ticket received as a birthday gift. Oh, man. Whoever gave that is so ticked.
Starting point is 00:13:56 Oh, that's where your mind goes to the person who gave him the gift? Yes. Oh, surely they'll cut them off a little. Little piece. No, you don't have to do that. A little piece? Who cares about a little piece? You could add a million dollars. You're the one that bought the ticket. But you only bought the ticket to gift to them. You may not buy tickets for yourself. You just thought it'd be a fun gift. Yeah, fun gift. And then now they're not going to be friends anymore. What about that though? It's like if you give the gift and you win it or like you get the gift, are you really supposed to share with
Starting point is 00:14:22 the person that gave you the gift? I would. Are you supposed to? No, but let's play it out. Eddie, you give me a ticket. Oh, it's a million bucks. Wow. This is. crazy. And I look at you and you're like, mm-hmm. Waiting? After taxes, I'm going to have like roughly $700,000, right? Oh my gosh. I'd probably give you $25,000. Oh, wow. Okay, I was thinking $100.
Starting point is 00:14:44 Whoa. Good for you. So I'm a worse person? No, not good for me. You made me sound worse. I mean, good for me. I was thinking you give $100,000. A hundred thousand dollars? That's a lot of money. You know what? This is hundreds of thousands that you wouldn't have if the person wouldn't have gifted it to you.
Starting point is 00:14:59 Don't even say it. It's hypothetical. Don't even say it. Oh, my. You know what, screw, I give you all of it. I'm doing it. I just give you all of it. Good for you. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:15:07 Thank you. Thank you. A birthday gift from a friend was a $1 million surprise for an Illinois man who thought it was $1,000 when he hit. He's like, oh my God, I want $1,000. Because that's how I would be.
Starting point is 00:15:19 If I want $1,000, I would go, oh, my God, I want $1,000. So they went to the center, still not knowing that they won, but if you went over a certain amount, you have to go to the office. So they go to the office to get their $1,000.
Starting point is 00:15:30 $1,000, and they said, no, you want a million. How do you not double-checked that before you go out? I mean, idiot. How do you miss all those zeros? Well, no, no, no, no. I don't know for sure that it was a scratch-off. A lottery ticket, I think, was it. He bought him the numbers.
Starting point is 00:15:46 Got it, got to cut it. Yeah. So he thought he won, and then he matched all six, and then another extra number. I don't know, it's some lotto, million drawing. But yeah, he's going to go, new car, golf cart, family crews for the 40th anniversary. million bucks from the friend. You have to do something nice for the friend at the least. Like dinner.
Starting point is 00:16:06 Like me, I'd give you all of it. But this, well, Amy shamed me when I only said 25,000. Amy was like, I expected so much of you in this hypothetical situation. I think you would do more. I think I would too. But when I say that, people roll their eyes at me. Not even in this room, but just listeners will go like, you wouldn't. You say.
Starting point is 00:16:24 No, I can vouch for you. I know you would. Thank you. I would hope that you do $100,000. That would be nice. No. But I would. I would make you think it was 25,000.
Starting point is 00:16:32 Okay. And then give me the 100,000? And then I'd give you the rest of it. Oh, love it. You know what? Then I'd give you more than the rest. As long as you're grateful. Bobby Bones show. Boney up the day. This story comes us from Oklahoma.
Starting point is 00:16:47 A mom and dad really wanted to go play some pickleball. They hadn't played pickleball in a couple days. But they have an 8-year-old, 5-year-old, and one-year-old, and no babysitter. How can we do this? You know what, kids? Here's an iPad. we're going to leave you at home. If anything happens, you call 911.
Starting point is 00:17:04 We're going to go play pickleball. Eight. Eight's too young. No, it's too young. And it sounds tempting, but you can't do that. But eight's too young, right? To be the oldest? Correct.
Starting point is 00:17:15 So they left and one of the kids accidentally hit the emergency button on the iPad. And then when they answered, they hung up. So police responded to the residents. They're like, well, where are your parents? And they said, oh, they're playing pickleball? Okay. We have a five-month-old, so I don't really know the intelligence of an eight-year-old. How bad is this on a scale of one to ten?
Starting point is 00:17:37 Ten meaning the worst, like, in neglect. Leaving an eight-year-old, the ages were one... And five. The one-year-old is the scale. Yeah, because I don't know if an eight-year-old knows how to properly care for a one-year-old. Scale it, though. Seven? You?
Starting point is 00:17:52 Eight. Okay, so it's severe, severe then. I think because of the one-year-old, like, yeah, I mean, you've got to have... real supervision with the one-year-old. Because you really can't leave an eight-year-old by themselves. An eight-year-old, you can't? But leaving an eight-year-old in charge. I'm sorry. God-Dang, I don't know. I don't, that's why I'm asking. Well, in charge of two other young children is problematic. Right. Okay. And during the investigation, they found out the parents do this
Starting point is 00:18:15 quite often. Pickleball? Leave the kids at home while they go play pickleball. Maybe the eight-year-old's proved himself. Yeah, that's what I mean. He graduated to that. Okay. I'm Lunchbox. That's your bonehead story of the day. our next three-day weekend. Do you know when it is? Let's see. Thanksgiving? No, it could be, but it's not. The next standard U.S. federal three-day weekend is October 10th, 11th, and 12th.
Starting point is 00:18:40 Columbus Day falls on a Monday. Are we still celebrate that? I don't know. Yeah, it feels weird. I don't know. He was a terrible person. He didn't even come to America. Columbus never came to America.
Starting point is 00:18:51 Yeah, I think he hit the Caribbean Islands first. He never came to America. And also, lots of America. raping and pillaging. But yeah, maybe we still. Do we still observe? Do we have a company Columbus Day holiday scuba? Yep.
Starting point is 00:19:04 I think it's Indigenous People's Day is what they do now. Well, this says work, this says if your workplace does not observe Columbus Day. So it could be indigenous people. I think it should be indigenous people. Yeah, I believe it. So it's been, there's been an addendum. No, because the U.S. Office of Personnel still calls it Columbus Day. And so let's get that straight.
Starting point is 00:19:25 and it's also Gulf of America and Lake America. Yeah, not Ontario. And they're thinking about changing New Mexico to New America. Stop. Have you not heard that one? No, no, no, no. That's a whole state. That'd be crazy.
Starting point is 00:19:36 Who? What do you mean, who? I mean, I can guess who, but that can't be real. That's a parody account, right? No, they were, he was talking about it. Trump was talking about it. He's like, I think we should name it New America. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:19:46 Will he actually? No. Probably not. But Scoob, do we get off? We do not now. Okay, so that's not ours, but some people do. You know what? New England would make more sense than New Mexico. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:20:00 New America. Okay, what if we did New America for New England? But New England's not a state. It's an area. It's a region. I figured he was wanting to change it because it said Mexico. That's why. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:09 So like the New Hampshire, he's probably not going to change. No, New England is England. Yeah, but New England's not a state. It's an area. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. New Mexico is literally a state.
Starting point is 00:20:20 So the next will be Thanksgiving. Okay. Since we don't do that. Then it's Christmas, and that's what's up. Dang. I thought we might get off that Columbus slash Indigenous Day, and we don't. Get Bell Pure Fiber Internet with Crave, Netflix, and Disney Plus. You both are good. All right, and here we go. The morning corny. Why does the phone wear glasses? Why does the phone wear glasses?
Starting point is 00:25:12 Cell. C. C. C. Pound key. I. I. I. iPhone. Vision. Oh, iPhone. That is good. Why does the phone wear glasses? I can't see. What does it see?
Starting point is 00:25:26 What do you see with? You're going to see with glasses? You see with contacts? Oh, contacts? Is it? It doesn't have contacts? Yes. It lost its contacts.
Starting point is 00:25:35 Good job. Does that count? Yes. Okay. Why do keyboards never sleep? Pounding. Because they're always pounding.
Starting point is 00:25:44 Why do keyboards never sleep? Because the keys are always jangling? Keyboards, because they're always They never sleep. Because keyboards They're always typing They're always Letters
Starting point is 00:25:57 Letters Numbers There's no zes Are you guys thinking A keyboard like type Or like keyboard music No type That's what I was thinking
Starting point is 00:26:04 Oh I was thinking But maybe it is music Oh I think maybe it is the keyboard There's no letters There's no sleep There's always making music There's no sleep They do shift work
Starting point is 00:26:14 Because they keep Shift Because they have to stay up all night They sleep shift Overnight shift They work the overnight shift Why do keyboards never sleep? Gosh, we're so close.
Starting point is 00:26:31 Because of the shift. Because of their... They have two shifts? Yes! Oh, they do have two shifts. Why do... Because they have two shifts. Go, go, go, go.
Starting point is 00:26:41 Why don't eggs tell jokes? Yes! We missed it. You got it! No, you got it! At the buzzer. You know what? We didn't set a record, so it's fine. We'll take three. Okay.
Starting point is 00:26:49 I don't want to be mean. Okay, then we'll move on. Don't be mean. Well, I can take it. What is it? No, no, no, no. Just. What is he going to say?
Starting point is 00:27:01 On typical workday, there's three shifts. So that's when you would not sleep as if you had three shifts. Or a double shift. But you would still sleep out of the second shift. Okay, guys. All right. I agree, Amy. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:27:13 How many shifts are there, though? Three. Morning shift, afternoon shift. Graveyard shift. Graveyard shift. Yeah. And then third shift. And then fourth shift.
Starting point is 00:27:21 And then four. and then fifth shift. Jeez. I know. Now, I'm not going to work. All right. There you go. That's the morning, Corny.
Starting point is 00:27:27 Thank you. Did you do a clap? Full eyes. Oh, no, we didn't do it. Do we do the clap? No? Okay, go ahead. All right.
Starting point is 00:27:34 Clear eyes, full hearts. Can't lose. The shift thing threw me off. Everybody's on show. All right, a couple voicemails. Go ahead and hit that one. Bobby started doing giving Tuesdays to try to turn around the negativity
Starting point is 00:27:47 from the comments and DMs, the negative. thing that he was seen. But now it's turned into like a negative thing that I dread every Tuesday listening to lunchbox. There's enough negativity in the world. Co-lunchbox to shut up. Love the show.
Starting point is 00:28:04 Thanks. Response? Oh, gosh. Another idiot that likes to call in and run her mouth. Oh, my goodness. Listen, well, she told me to shut up. So, I mean, she's obviously an idiot because my opinions are valid. My points are valid.
Starting point is 00:28:18 It's just I don't like the baking, begging, begging, begging, begging, bag. begging, uh, give me that. But it's not your money. It's my money. I'm using my own money. Yeah, but you're getting taking advantage of and you're doing it for weird reasons. And I don't want you to go bankrupt. What's the weird reasons? Yeah, what's the weird reason? Well, that's what I'm saying. You do it. No, no, no. What's the weird reason? Exactly. All right, number one. Lunchbox got upset when you did a giving Tuesday for a woman who wanted to have her hair done.
Starting point is 00:28:45 And he said it's, you can do without it unless it's essential. Isn't Las Vegas un-eas? essential for lunchbox. Maybe he should just quit worrying about going to Vegas and quit judging other people because they're not wants might be a little different than his. Thanks. Yeah, you're correct because I didn't go into Bobby's DMs on Giving Tuesday and beg for a trip to Las Vegas. We know you're going to.
Starting point is 00:29:09 You had it locked and loaded. You had it. You almost did it the week before. Correct. So I never asked Bobby for a trip. He just voluntarily gave that to me. I didn't go pleading and begging. and be like, oh, Bobby, I need to get my hair.
Starting point is 00:29:22 You cried about it a lot. I did complain about my treatment, but I didn't say, hey, Bobby, why don't you give me a trip to Vegas? He, out of the graciousness of his heart, gave that to me. If he saw someone walking down the street and he just wanted to give them $25, that's different. No one asked for it. I don't understand his point sometimes, but who cares? But that was my point. You understand my point, right guys?
Starting point is 00:29:46 Yep. Yeah, we just say yep. Yeah, man. Leave us a voicemail any time. 877-77-Bobby. You call while we're here, and if it's all busy, it'll go to voicemail. Leave it.
Starting point is 00:29:57 877-77 Bobby. Bobby Bowie. So Eddie's been reading in the last couple days? Yeah, the four agreements. Yeah, so after the show? Well, in middle of the show Tuesday. You did 15 minutes in office? Yes.
Starting point is 00:30:12 The Monday off throws me. Right. So Tuesday. And then Wednesday. And we haven't done it yet today on Thursday. Yeah, but I have a question. Okay. So in my off time, because yesterday after the show, I was like, I got a few minutes here to kill.
Starting point is 00:30:25 I picked up the book and I read a few pages. Is that okay? That's exactly it. Okay. And don't put any pressure though because last night, I like to read minimally 20 pages a day if I can when I'm reading. And sometimes, it's a nice day if it's 50. Like, that's if I really have some time. And I got like nine pages last night. I was so tired.
Starting point is 00:30:44 Don't hold yourself to any standard. Okay. I love it that you read a few pages. Sometimes I do one page. That's great. Okay. But then on the weekend, I may get way more. One page seems like a waste of time. It's not. The reason one page is great is the same reason that you put on your clothes when you work out. Because the hardest part is just getting started.
Starting point is 00:31:02 She may do one page and go, oh, I do have some more time and I can keep reading. Because you can't read 10 pages if you don't read one. And I'm just saying, for example, some nights it might be one page, other nights it might be more. I'm not shaming you. I think it's great. Oh, how do you read an elephant, Bobby? By shooting it and then going To taking it to a butcher Go, you're a butchered an elephant?
Starting point is 00:31:21 And they go, no, and they go, okay, take some time And then they cook it for it and then you eat it. That would be the easy way. Yeah, that seems like the way to do it. No, you, okay. I know it's one bite at a time. I know. I was just trying to show Eddie, like,
Starting point is 00:31:32 you just got to take it one page at a time. So, what are your thoughts? Not on the book. On reading. Oh, reading. Okay, so reading's fine. I feel like there are some days where I read better than others,
Starting point is 00:31:45 which is weird. No, it's normal. That's normal? Yeah, that's like our brains. It's our brains. Think of easy trivia. Think of working out. Like you go in, you can do the same exact workout, but some days you just don't feel good.
Starting point is 00:31:57 And some days you're able to really, yeah. Like some days I'm struggling with a sentence and I'm just like, oh my God, what does that even mean? And then some days I'm flying. Next thing you know, five pages later, I'm like, wow, I just read five pages. Think of it as like you're working out. Some days you can do sprints and feel a lot better. And some days you do two and you're like, oh, man, something ain't right today. You know where I felt like there was really a problem was.
Starting point is 00:32:15 when I was carrying my book around the office and somebody goes, are you reading? And I was like, wow. Like everybody knows I don't read. That's crazy. No, no. They were saying, are you reading? You're carrying a book. You just got cool personed and you looked at it the wrong way.
Starting point is 00:32:28 Oh, yeah. I was like, oh, yeah, what? I don't read. No, you took it the wrong way. Really? You got cool person. Like, are you reading? No, yeah, that's positive.
Starting point is 00:32:37 Okay, okay. That's when you just need to own it. You're like, yeah, this is the four agreements. Heard of it. Well, no, then somebody goes, are you reading the four agreements? I'm like, I am. So that was kind of cool. Boom.
Starting point is 00:32:47 Yeah, but then I was there like, how far are you? And I'm like 10 pages. That's okay. It does not matter. LeBron used to show up press conferences holding a book and he'd be on like the first page every time.
Starting point is 00:32:59 It was just a prop? Multiple books. Was that a joke? Or like the third page. I think he just would carry a book in to make it look like he was reading something. That's funny. But he was always just on the beginning.
Starting point is 00:33:10 And then it started to get noticed. Like, LeBron's actually never reading these books. Okay, so now you're two days in. Yeah, two days in, and I got a little bookmarker too. Love it. You know, look at that. Okay, cool. Pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:33:23 He'll do some more today. I'm a reader. Are you taking anything from it yet? It's starting to get interesting. It started with like, what are they talking about? To now I'm like, this is, and what's funny is like you start reading a few things and you're like, ooh, lunchbox would really, this could really help lunchbox if you read this book.
Starting point is 00:33:40 Just do you. I'm just saying I started thinking about thinking. There are certain things that remind me of certain people. and I'm like, oh, interesting. Just do you, buddy. Okay. That's like you're like good people that are at church like, oh, so-and-so could really use this message. And then you forward the message.
Starting point is 00:33:57 No? You don't forward the message? I feel like that. That's not judgmental. You need to look inward. Anyway, he's about to hop out and read again. Okay, we will keep track. Good job.
Starting point is 00:34:06 Thank you. Even one page is good. Oh, I'm 20, dude. No, I know. But I'm just saying, even if you're at home and you read one page and something distracts you and you have to quit, the fact that you started, that is a small victory for the day. These guys go to a restaurant, they get
Starting point is 00:34:19 some takeout, and they discover a hairless newborn rat squirming in their takeout meal. Did you guys see the picture? Oh, it's so disgusting. I did not, because it said, click here to see picture, and guess what I didn't do? Click there. I didn't want to see it. Mine didn't give me the option. They just showed me the rat. Thoughts? Guys, it looks, it's a fetus.
Starting point is 00:34:36 It's a fetus of a baby alive, right? But it was not too easy. It was moving. It was wiggling. It was gross. and I don't know how anyone would not see that what do you mean like it doesn't look like what were they eating what did they order it doesn't look like a salad it doesn't look like chicken
Starting point is 00:34:55 it was a baby fetus what are they saying of how it's pink hairless alien light creature whose eyes were not fully open could be seen wiggling its little arms and legs I hate that for that I wonder why that got in there I know
Starting point is 00:35:12 okay I didn't see the picture I'm glad I didn't. Yeah, you're lucky. You guys have to talk to your doctor through a portal at all? It's the most annoying thing in the world. I think it's amazing. Yeah, I like it. I was able to ask my son's pediatrician.
Starting point is 00:35:27 His cross-country coach wanted to put him on iron and some other supplement. And I just threw the portal, and she replied back so quickly. She's like, yeah, that sounds good to me. And I'm like, wow, we didn't even have to go in to the doctor. It's amazing. What do you think about it, lunchbox? It's annoying because it says, it could take up to two days for a response.
Starting point is 00:35:45 So when you have a question, don't worry about getting health advice for a couple days. It's really annoying. I never have waited two weeks. It may say that. It's always within... It's pretty quick.
Starting point is 00:35:55 An hour to longest five hours. Oh, you guys must have the best doctors in the world. No, sometimes it could be anybody that responds. You're right. It could be another nurse or something. So they analyzed almost four million medical advice requests sent through portals. And what you can say to get your doctor
Starting point is 00:36:12 to actually respond. just a word? Help. No. Dying. Use their name. Oh. If you greeted your doctor by their last name, Dr. Garcia.
Starting point is 00:36:27 Yeah. Yes. You got a response almost 40% more. Wow. Because you're showing them respect. They feel seen. Or they feel specifically for them. Oh, and it feels personal.
Starting point is 00:36:40 Yeah. Okay. You wouldn't feel like, I mean, doctor, You've gone through all this school. You want to be respected. And then somebody's like, hey, I have a headache. What do I do? Hi.
Starting point is 00:36:50 Hey. You know, you don't like that. Even in the portal. So that's what it says. So just a little tip here. FYI, use the doctor's name. You get a response so many more times. That was from the New York Post.
Starting point is 00:37:01 Lunchbox, what airlines am I sending you out on in Vegas? Frontier. How do you feel about that? I mean, I think it's a safe airline. I mean, I don't have a problem with that. I have a problem with the times that they fly. It's tough. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:13 Okay, but just the airline you like. Yeah, I don't mind the airline. They got animals on the side. It's pretty cool. Yeah, different animals. It's cute. On the outside of the plane? Yeah, look on the plane.
Starting point is 00:37:21 Frontier Airlines is doing a 249 all you can fly pass. For the year? Do what? All you can fly, huh? Frontier Airlines, fall and winter, go wild pass is back on cell for 249. Nearly unlimited travel through February 2027. Huh. That's, that's, that's Christmas, dude.
Starting point is 00:37:42 That's only six months. Pass holders pay just one cent in airfare per flight after they pay the 249 with one personal item included check bags larger carry-on some seat assignments. But yeah, no, that's it. I guess they can't get people to fly right now. Wait, So you could fly now through February? Sounds like it.
Starting point is 00:38:02 Wow. This is not a commercial, so all I have is a news story that I saw and I pulled it and it doesn't say that, but that's what it seems like. I saw a travel expert online. I don't know so expert I'll say that loosely talking about how if you're going to be traveling this holiday season buy your tickets now and in my mind I was thinking now that seems so crazy but we're really not that far away from holiday holidays you're right it's going to be before we know I know who can really buy this thing though because like I mean I can't travel that much so I don't know if I can use all of that if you go twice aren't you kind of already it even sounds about like maybe two mm-hmm and you're See the story about Mark Cuban back in the day for a quarter million dollars? He bought Unlimited flying. Unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:38:46 And then he's been able to use it for millions of dollars. Wow. Now he has a private jet, but he did it forever. There is an influencer that died after receiving penis enlargement injections. Oh, I saw this. He was a very large man. But his wiener wasn't. I think he had a micro penis.
Starting point is 00:39:05 Yeah. I think. What was his handle was like... Something about his penis? No, but... The funny thing for... people were doing online was they would just take the headline and they would quote retweet it and put a picture up of like their friend and it'd say influencer dies after receiving penis enlargement
Starting point is 00:39:19 that's a picture of mike d or whatever that's funny um so his name was ego ubribo but his nickname was tiny yeah tiny tiny was vacationing with his wife underwent the procedure and he began to complain about chest pains and suffered repeated loss of consciousness and he died heart pulmonary ambulism That is so, like, you need to have an agreement with the doctor. If medically anything goes wrong, I was in for a kidney donation, you know? Oh, don't say if it was a penis enlargement? That's a good point. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:54 If I'm in, if I die, that was not getting pulled. Exactly. As a matter of fact, switch it to a penis reduction. You're right, right, right, right. Because it was so big that I was in for a penis reduction. Right, because it was painful. And now we all know. Right, but I don't know why his nickname was tiny.
Starting point is 00:40:12 Maybe everybody knew. I think he was an influencer because he had a tiny pecker. Oh, so then everyone knew already. Mike, was he a tiny pecker influencer? Guys, big man, big man. Yeah, which makes it crazy at tiny pecker. Yeah. Or is it, you know, the way it's...
Starting point is 00:40:26 I'm going to say it, guys. Was he too big for that? He's a big black man. Yeah, because he's from Uganda, I think, right? Nigeria. Yeah, so just contrary to what you would think. No, you're right. No, she's right.
Starting point is 00:40:37 Right. Just like... I've never thought that. No, she's right. And I played football and we weren't all white. And I'm telling you. Yeah. It's true.
Starting point is 00:40:45 They're created differently. Yeah, it's true. It always made me feel like I had a really, really, really small one. I'm not kidding. Because we had some, all my friends are black guys in the football team. And everybody was naked. So I always thought my whole life had a tiny one because I would see theirs. I just need to be around more white weaners.
Starting point is 00:41:03 I'm not kidding. Yeah, I know. I was always like, oh, God, I can never show this. I was going to be a micropinus influencer. Name tiny. Yeah. Mike, was he a micropanus influencer? I don't see that.
Starting point is 00:41:15 Oh, maybe he wasn't, but maybe they were just being funny because he's so big. He's so big, we call him tiny. I know. I just thought, call him, this guy. What was he an influencer of then? Because if your name's tiny, eh. If you, just raise your hand if you find it. It's a weird thing to Google.
Starting point is 00:41:29 I know sometimes I put Mike in a tightrope. It's time for the good news. With Bobby. Tell me something good. The six-year-old disappeared into the woods. This is in Delaware. And so they bring out the dog. The dog's name is Fiasco.
Starting point is 00:41:45 And they go, all right, go. They gave the dog one of the boys crocs. That dog, whew! Right to him. Smelled one of the crocs, beeline, deep in the woods, right to the kid.
Starting point is 00:41:58 Amazing. And I get it. I'm not a dog. We don't understand. Yeah. But the fact they went smell it, and he wasn't like sniffing around for a day or six hours.
Starting point is 00:42:08 Went right to him. The boy who had, special needs, it disappeared after running into the woods. And thanks to fiasco, researchers found him near a pond. The kid was muddy, wet, and barefoot, but healthy, right to him. Wow. Oh, man, dogs, we don't deserve them. Great story. That's what it's all about.
Starting point is 00:42:26 That was Tell Me Something Good. Some government official in Florida were hoping to capitalize in Miami off of GTA 6 coming out. And so they were going to do this thing and people revolted and they're not. Deft Auto? Here's the thing. The reason I wanted to bring this up was not this story, but this is going to be the most sold piece of media in the history of the world. It's been a decade. This game is going to be so robust, and it's not just the GTA storyline. They're going to have games inside the games inside the games inside the games. Like I'll say, you want to be a pro basketball player. They're going to have a game inside of a replay basketball.
Starting point is 00:43:01 It's going to be, it's going to be, in my opinion, the biggest selling, most culturally impactful digital piece of anything in the history of the world. But aren't there really disturbing things that are happening inside this game, inside other games, inside other games? Are you talking about the storyline? I'm talking about some of the activities that happen within the game. Like, can you hook up with someone in the casino? And I'm not just talking, yeah, like.
Starting point is 00:43:25 I don't know what you're asking. I just saw this fiance talking about how if her fiance were to want to play this game, she wouldn't allow it. You can get in trouble anywhere on the internet. So this is that. So it's not about this game. It's if you're looking for trouble where you're connected to other people, you can find trouble. But nobody in this room is going to play it.
Starting point is 00:43:49 This game is not out. It has not been out. When it comes out. I'd play it. I'm going to get it for sure. Why wouldn't we play it? It's going to be. I just heard it's so dirty.
Starting point is 00:43:57 No, it's not dirty. No, you can literally be an NBA player and play basketball. You can be a writer. But anywhere you can connect with people, people will ruin that. I think I understand what you're saying now. Yeah. I just was. Like Roblox.
Starting point is 00:44:09 That's supposed to be for kids, but are there pedophiles on there? Yes, that doesn't mean that game is for pedophiles. In itself is bad. Okay, I see what you're saying. I'm only basing it off the clip that I saw in which she was describing was very disturbing. I don't even want to repeat it. So I thought, ew, why would people want to play this game? No, now I get what you're saying.
Starting point is 00:44:27 People will perverse anything. Yes, anything. There's going to be such a world in this game that you don't even have to play the game to be totally into the game. Oh. That's a bold claim, but I do think. it'll be the biggest game in the history of games, and I think it'll be more than any movie ever sold. They've spent over a billion dollars making it, and it's been over a decade. I mean, the last one came out in 2013, and people still play it. Yeah. And so,
Starting point is 00:44:50 that, I think, do you think it's going to be that? Yeah, I watched the whole thing on Netflix. I watched the whole 40 minutes too. It is just like gameplay, and you're like, this is fascinating. And I'm not even going to play the game. Oh, this is where you can watch somebody play it? No. It's just a preview. Oh, my God. Are we have a bunch of 80-year-olds? What? What? Yes, her. What did you see? He was asking about Purvos. Yeah, my concern was some of the activity that seems questionable in the game, but Bobby's right in that people, something can be pure fun and some people out there are going to make it sick. We watched on Netflix.
Starting point is 00:45:24 They were showing the storyline and the graphics. And I watched it, it was like 40 minutes. Yeah, it was awesome. It was cool. It looks so. And you're not watching a person play like you're streaming, but you're just watching the game, what the game looks like. Got it. But they're not showing all that you can do in like that.
Starting point is 00:45:36 You know what we play NBA? Yeah. You can do all the stuff. That time's a million. Okay. And it's 30 minutes long? No, no, no. We're not talking.
Starting point is 00:45:43 The Netflix. Oh my God. Because I'm moving on. What's wrong with you? Like the Netflix thing you're talking about. It's 30 minutes long? The Netflix is only the actual gameplay. Right.
Starting point is 00:45:52 That's what I want to see. Yeah, it's 30, 40 minutes, yes. And they shoot bullets. Okay. Boots. Okay. One more question. Careful.
Starting point is 00:46:00 Why can't they not allow the dirty stuff? Okay, but I don't know the answer to that. Why would say it about the internet in general. Or like, why don't they not allow crime? You know, Amy? I don't know. I don't like it. Is that any worse than like killing someone in a game? Yeah. Well,
Starting point is 00:46:19 some of the stuff she was describing that they have to do with girls. Yeah. There's nothing you can do in the game they've made with the actual characters that would be something that would be considered like that. But what we're talking about, though, is all of the
Starting point is 00:46:34 things you can do inside. What would you call that world? It's an open world. Oh, yeah. There's going to be so much there to do. Regardless, it seems to be the biggest thing that's ever happened, I think. But what do I know? Get Bell, Pure Fiber Internet with Crave, Netflix, and Disney Plus. Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people and they were like, you smiled at us. Not a lot of people smile around here. It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies you're sold about it. It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind, or wake up to a new version of yourself. So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip,
Starting point is 00:49:55 I hope you listen to Solita on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Self-care September is here, which means it's time to rethink what self-care actually means. Yes, self-care can be a long walk. It can be in everything shower. It can be putting your phone on, do not disturb. But sometimes it's actually about sitting with the uncomfortable stuff. And understanding your patterns, your boundaries, finally figuring out while you keep doing things that you swore you would never do again.
Starting point is 00:50:24 I'm Gemma Spag, the host of the Psychology of Your 20s podcast. And each week we unpack the psychology behind the experiences that shape your 20s, from relationships and friendships to money, anxiety, confidence, attachment, just becoming more comfortable with who you are. Unlike the quarter life crisis, which is depicted as the collapse, the quarter life reinvention is the expansion and growth of something. When we develop the ability to be happy by ourselves, nobody else can take that from you.
Starting point is 00:50:52 So this self-care September, don't just take care of yourself. Get to know yourself as well. Listen to the psychology of your 20s on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What happened? question for you guys. So I got a flat tire, right? So I go to this tire shop to get it, you know, fixed or
Starting point is 00:51:13 whatever, and the guy looks at it and he says, oh man, that thread and that tire is too low, you know what? It would be illegal for me to fix it. It'd be illegal to fix it? He said it's illegal to fix it if it's the thread or whatever is low enough. And I looked at him like, it's not
Starting point is 00:51:29 that low. He said, can I interest you in four tires, though, because you're at that point. So I said, is this a scam? Like, is it really illegal to fix a flat when the thread is a little low or is he just trying to get me to buy four tires. So obviously, I don't know the answer to that. It feels, though, that he immediately goes to, hey, you need four tires anyway. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:51 Yeah, because immediately I said, are you going to change it or not? I said, no, sir, I can't do it. Unfortunately, it's illegal. And I said, well, then I'm going to go somewhere else. He's like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Like, hold on. Before you leave, I said, no, if you're not going to fix it, I don't need new tires. I'm going somewhere else.
Starting point is 00:52:05 And so let me go. It's absolutely. not a scam. It is legit. The dude is telling you the truth. That's why they go out and when you say you have one tire that has a problem, they go around and check all four tires to see where your
Starting point is 00:52:19 tread is at. And that way they know if it is safe to put you back on the road with those tires. And if it is not, that's when they say, hey man, you're going to need those four tires. You were not being scammed. The dude was doing an honest business deal. I don't know. I understand.
Starting point is 00:52:35 I've been scammed on tires too many times to believe anybody. Yeah, that's true. But I know tire guys. I know guys in the tire business and they would always tell me, man. They would tell me the truth and that tread too low is 100% legit. They even have the sign. No, I saw the sign. In the lobby and it says if your tread is below this,
Starting point is 00:52:51 can't be driving. That's the place. It must be the same place. Yeah. They're legit. What'd you do? Went to another place. What happened? They fixed my tire. Not a problem. Hold on. Did you go to a a shadier place? Just another place. No, no. Did you go to like a side of the road kind of place?
Starting point is 00:53:08 Was place B shadier than place A? I would say it's a little shadier. Yeah. A little shadier. But I mean, still, they weren't trying to sell me tires. And shadier people should scam you harder. I would think so. They looked at it and said, yeah, we can fix that.
Starting point is 00:53:22 Hey, you guys, if you know about this, hit us up. And if you can't get through because it's busy or whatever, leave us a voicemail. Was this a scam? Like, what is the actual rule? 877-77 Bobby. Someone on Instagram commented on the vacation pictures that I had posted in a video. And it hurt my feelings, but they were right. Uh-oh. And that rarely happens. So I posted on our vacation, my wife,
Starting point is 00:53:50 her parents, our baby, we went to East Tennessee. And I was on a zip line. And they were like, dude, your arms are so small. And I looked on, he was right. I, since I had ankle surgery, and since we had the baby, I've neglected the gym. And not only, I've been going a couple of times a week, but because I know I can't work out as much because of all the time I have to spend with the baby, I have been conscious about my eating. And so I don't overeat. I don't eat much sugar. I just, I'm not in an unhealthy way, but I just make sure I don't, since I can't burn it off, don't eat a whole lot. And so I looked at my arms and I was humiliated. Take a look now. I'll pull it out for you. I got you. Because the one thing I kind of have
Starting point is 00:54:35 This is pretty good arms for a skinny guy. And here, look, tell me, and you're going to say yes, and it's okay to hurt my feelings. They've already been hurt. But look at my arms here, even on that. Okay. They're not, they're green beans. Yeah. So I'm back.
Starting point is 00:54:52 I'm back, boys. You're back to the gym? I'm back. Yoking? What does that mean? I'm too old to be yoke now. My body won't even get there anymore. But this person was trying to be mean, but they were right.
Starting point is 00:55:05 Yeah, why would you even comment that? No, no, no, because people on the end are losers, but this loser was right. And then there was another one. I don't know. I mean, who cares? Right. No, but I need that. Like, if it's true.
Starting point is 00:55:17 This is motivating to you? That one was. At first of all. Because I feel like your arms look. They don't. They're a little. Did you look at this person's profile? How were their arms?
Starting point is 00:55:26 It was a blank one. It was somebody just trolling me. But they were still right. It doesn't matter. And then another person said, hey look at your legs they're even worse and it's a weird picture because I'm kind of behind my wife my legs look smaller than hers
Starting point is 00:55:42 because she has muscular legs they look like toothpicks I don't want to comment on your body I would like for you too I'm asking you too I noticed that yeah you notice so small yeah I gotta look at a little bit of it I notice a little bit of the angle but also boys I've lost I've lost some muscle I gotta get back at it at one point in time when we measured legs like you
Starting point is 00:56:04 were coming in. I was the winner. Yeah, because so you were going to let's beating all these jackholes. Whoa. It wasn't a competition. We didn't make the comments about anything. Oh my bad. Jeez man. You have my legs look like. Oh yeah, they look little. Yeah. And a part of it again, it is the angle and the shorts and you can see her thighs, but you can't see mine. But anyway,
Starting point is 00:56:20 it looks like I, I'm, the legs of 11 year old. I mean, it looks like you guys are standing right next to each other. No, the angle's a little bad. I keep telling myself. So, yeah. And then Eddie also got me in the comments. like a jerk. What did I say?
Starting point is 00:56:36 You don't have to do this in the comments. What did I say? So, Caitlin and I are going to Brooks and Dunn this weekend. We wouldn't miss it. We love Brooks and Dunn. We're also very family friends with the lead singer of Brooks and Dunn and his wife. And I wrote, as a video from the 80s of these two people dancing, I said, this is Caitlin and I on Saturday night. And I wrote, here we go, docee dough.
Starting point is 00:56:57 And Eddie goes, it's hill toe docee dough. It felt good doing that because... You like to be the troler. No, no, people do that all the time to me. That's really funny because you get the lyrics wrong. Yeah, yeah. And I was like, dude, you know, you know that it's not. I didn't.
Starting point is 00:57:11 Really? I know I've been corrected on this show, but when I sing it, I sing, here we go, docy doke. What sucks is that show, they go on at like 915 or 920. Brooks and done the headliner. Oh, dang. And so that's the normal headline set for a Saturday night, and that is fine. And we wouldn't miss it. Arkansas plays Utah at 9 o'clock
Starting point is 00:57:34 because we're playing in Utah Over there Now luckily I told Ronnie that And he said well put you in a suite You can turn on the TV up there Perfect Hmm
Starting point is 00:57:43 So are you gonna just kind of watch both I'm just gonna put it on my phone And I have to watch it But that concert will be fun But I Especially if Arkansas doesn't get run So Eddie don't need to be that person Noted
Starting point is 00:58:00 And my I thought it was fun And my legs and my arms are smaller, and I'm going to do something about it. So it's time to get a bit unhealthy. Just a bit. Oh, boy. Oh, no, you don't need to be unhealthy. A bit.
Starting point is 00:58:13 A bit. You can actually do it in a very healthy way. No, no, no, I can't do that. You know how I do everything. Just a little bit. Just a little bit, but not a lot of bits. So you're saying everything has to be unhealthy? Yes.
Starting point is 00:58:21 Okay, cool. Just a little toxic. Yeah, just slight toxicity. She's like a little dashed toxic. Gavin Adcock was on the show. And Ray, I don't know if you have a Gavin Aycock clip or not, but Gavin Aycock's the guy that fights with everybody. Yeah. He has really good music.
Starting point is 00:58:37 His music doesn't sound like what he looks like. No, no, no, very, like, soft. His music is awesome. Yeah. When you see him, you think, if you just say hi, he's going to punch in the gut. I like him a lot. And I offered him $5,000 to read The Hunger Games because he said he didn't read. And I said, you'll love it.
Starting point is 00:58:54 Do you think he'll do it? No. No, not a chance. I don't think he's going to do it. Zero percent chance. Five grand to a charity. Yeah, yeah. No, there's no way.
Starting point is 00:59:02 Like, you offered that to him, he said, whatever he said, and then he left to him and like, I ain't doing that. Did he say that? No, in his head. Oh. Like, I don't think he's doing it. I wondered if you guys had thought about that at all. Because I watched the clip back and I laughed.
Starting point is 00:59:17 I laughed that I would even have the idea to offer somebody $5,000 to read a book. Because look at him. Yeah. He's got a shirt on button, this big beard, this picture behind him's smoking. And I just thought it'd be funny if he read Hunger Games. I thought it was a little unfair because you're making me. me read a book for free. So I thought, I saw that I was like, well, it's five minutes.
Starting point is 00:59:35 And he's already got a lot of money because he's Gavin Adcock. So I was like, well, that's not really not fair. But anyway, I'm reading my book. You know, you are getting money. It's called you get paid to be on the show. Right. And you're reading at work while you should be doing something else. You are getting paid to read. Yeah, it would be funny, though.
Starting point is 00:59:49 You walk up on Gavin Adcock at a picnic table, reading Hunger Games. That's pretty funny image, but he ain't doing it. I'm going to do, so Amy, I brought this in. Whoa, whoa, whoa. What are we doing here? So, somebody was murdered in our building. Yeah. And so you can carry a gun anywhere you want.
Starting point is 01:00:06 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, put it away. And this is a, it's called Storm Trooper White handgun. You want to see it? Yes. What are we doing? Why are you pointed out? It's not a, it's not loaded. Point it down, point it down.
Starting point is 01:00:20 You should always point it down. It should always be pointed down. I'm familiar. Okay, yeah. Why is everybody hiding under the table? Because you're pointing out of it. No, it's pointed down. When you hand it's Amy, it's kind of...
Starting point is 01:00:32 It's not. Hey, it's loaded, loaded? Of course I was loaded. Okay. Yeah, you got to point that down, dude. So, I know you said your daughter was thinking about getting a gun. Yeah, she wanted to take a handgun safety training class. Yes.
Starting point is 01:00:44 So don't point it at them. Here's this one. So this is actually called a burner. Okay. Are you familiar with it? No. So it's amazing. It is not what would be considered an actual gun, but it is for...
Starting point is 01:00:58 I have it for, like, home invasion. Remember the thing I talked about, that wasn't a real gun, but if somebody breaks into your house, you can shoot them with it. Yes. And so, this is it.
Starting point is 01:01:07 This is it. And it is awesome. So, let me see this. One second. It is a less lethal. They don't call it a gun, but a launcher,
Starting point is 01:01:17 but some cops have these as well. And it's basically like, I would call it a marble. It's not really a marble, but a marble. And these ones that I have, also when it hits, the chemicals go up,
Starting point is 01:01:27 like a pepper spray. Oh, wow. So it's a double. Like pepper. balls. Yeah. So there's kinetic rounds, which are the hard plastic balls. There's pepper rounds. And from 60, 70 feet, it feels like you're being hit with a bullet. It won't kill you. Because for me, if somebody breaks into my house, I'm going to shoot them. I've had people break into my house. I've had, I've been jumped, gunpoint, all that. It's going to happen. But I would
Starting point is 01:01:49 rather not kill somebody. Right. And this will incapacitate them and not kill them. And so I brought this in. Now, less lethal does not mean harmless. You're still pointing at me. That's not pointed at you. Point it down, please. Less lethal does not mean harmless because it can hurt somebody bad. Right. So it sounds like right up my alley.
Starting point is 01:02:07 This is what's to Shira needs. And I need. I have a shotgun still at the house. I'm a gun guy. Just everybody knows. I have a home invasion of 12 gauge. I'm way more comfortable with shotguns than I am handguns. But Eddie and I went and shot these.
Starting point is 01:02:21 It's awesome. For anybody that, and you can carry them in all 50 states, it's not considered a gun, but they are used for, you know, it's, it's effective. I'll say that. I mean, it's deliberately looking like a real gun as well. Mm-hmm. And accurate, too.
Starting point is 01:02:38 I was shocked by that, like how accurate it was. They do not pay us. No. I just talked about it on the show before. The less lethal, again, gun, because it looks like a gun. I think it'd be awesome if you had one of these. I think it'd be awesome if your daughter had one of these.
Starting point is 01:02:55 I have one now, too. I have it all. I have my shotgun as well. But I have this. If I hear something, I'm going out with this. Yeah. Because most people, I'm going to put myself in most people's heads. Okay, someone's coming in and they grab their gun.
Starting point is 01:03:07 They got to go, man, if I shoot this person, I might kill them. And I don't know if I want to do that. And by that time, they're being attacked. And maybe they lose their life or they're hurt. This, you feel like it's dangerous? Go. And again, they have the pepper balls too. Yeah, that's.
Starting point is 01:03:24 It's a B-Y-R-N-A burner. And the Storm Trooper. I got Storm Trooper wife. Okay. That's right at me. No, it's not. And I've also unloaded it. Okay, that's better.
Starting point is 01:03:35 So those are the pepper balls? These are just practice balls. Okay. We were shooting yesterday. We were just out shooting stuff. We were in the backyard? Yeah. Me and Matt Castle and Kevin.
Starting point is 01:03:47 Because they're amazed with it. They're all getting one. Because they, one, want to protect their house. And two, it's not. a gun gun and it's legal and it will mess somebody up. Yeah. And then I've been carrying it with me once the person was murdered here. I bring it to work. I put it in my pocket. Always have it with you.
Starting point is 01:04:04 So say some crap. No, no, no. No, this seems to me, no, I'm not saying. No, thank you for sharing because it's coming at a perfect time, especially with my daughter's curiosity. And even for me needing something next, I mean, I know how to use a handgun and I have my license, but this I feel way more comfortable with. Yeah, it's called a Berna. and you guys can I don't know go online or something this is how you know
Starting point is 01:04:31 it's not a commercial if I say go online or something we have a store here yeah we do and I didn't know we had that and Eddie and I just drove down but somewhat near my house and we went and shot
Starting point is 01:04:41 and I would recommend them to everybody you don't even if you're not a gun person you know what's really weird is that I was worried about taking one home because I have kids but really is like it's really not anything to worry about with them you know
Starting point is 01:04:54 I felt comfortable than having a gun around where kids can just grab it and do it. Like, I think they understand what it is and now I can educate them on what to do with something like this because it's not a real gun. I liked it. But it will do what needs to be done. I'm sure I could talk about that better, like if I had actual points. But I just wanted to bring it in to show Amy because her daughter was wanting a gun because she's living by herself. For Amy, I think it would be great to have. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:21 For me, I love it because I don't keep my shotgun. loaded. I keep the shell, the, you know, bullets, whatever you want to call them, away. I'm quick. And it's birdshot. I need a pretty good spread on it. It's like, I don't want to, no slugs. Sought off, sought off. It's not sought off. It's home invasion. It's shorter, but it's home invasion. Sounds cooler. It's not sought off. But to our listeners out there, it's called a B-Y-R-N-A. I encourage you to check it out. I have the one that's called, it says C-L, so it looks like a handgun. Nice. Yeah. So that's it. Not a commercial. I would love if they sponsored the show. They saw this segment and said, I want to be a
Starting point is 01:05:54 sponsor and they gave us all guns. We have like Wednesday shootouts. And because there was a murder in our building, we were a little on edge. Yep. Mike, would you get something like this? Definitely. Okay. Yeah, B-Y-R-N-A. All right, voicemail.
Starting point is 01:06:11 Eddie, he had to leave a segment early because his wife had a doctor's appointment and his kids were home alone. Isn't one of his boys 17 or 18? I don't get it. It's a great question. You did have to leave the show early because your wife had a doctor's appointment.
Starting point is 01:06:28 It wasn't to be with your wife. It was to watch your kids. Yeah, he works. The older one works. So he goes to school, like half the day and then works the second half of the day. I had to jump in and cover for the younger three. And the oldest of the younger three is?
Starting point is 01:06:43 The oldest he's 12. He's just turned 13. So is that old enough with a 13 to 12? Oh, they don't need a supervisor. I agree. But the problem with them, Three together, they're just like bad, bad news.
Starting point is 01:06:57 Can you give the 13 year old, though, a little power, a little autonomy over the group? You just see how it works? I don't think they'll listen to him. Or do you think you'll drive up and see smoke coming from like over the hill? Maybe. Yes, dude, I'm telling you, them three together.
Starting point is 01:07:11 Like, the other day, one of them went to a friend's house, and it was just two. It was a world of difference. It's so different. But them three together, man, they're crazy. Fair enough. But at some point, though, they're all still going to be crazy and they're going to be 15 and 14. Like, when does it end where you go, I have to try to see if they're responsible?
Starting point is 01:07:31 I think the problem is that the 13 and the 12-year-old, they're so close that they work as one. Can they work as one for good, not evil? Maybe when they go to college, we'll see. Oh, that long? I think that's a good question. I didn't think about that, but that's the answer to it. Bobby Bones The Bobby Bones theme song
