He hasn't made it yet. But he shouldn't have come to the CMAs because he's like, I'm like probation. And they were like, don't leave the state. But he did and took a picture.

And now I think he wears an ankle mom. monitor now. We can't have them in studio, but we can have him on Zoom because he can't leave the state. We'll talk to him coming up too. I think Ramuna though is going to be a good idea because I was driving in this morning and it was not my fault. I've been very cautious when I drive into our parking garage. Our parking garage is a multi-level wraparound. Because we now, our new office is in basically a really tall condo building, probably like 40 stories higher or something. And so like there's like six levels of wrap around parking. Wrap, wrap, wrap, wrap. And people come flying around that thing.

Somebody almost hit me this morning. Was not my fault because I used a little mirror. And I drive slow because I've been in the situation too where I've been like, oh, got, I almost got somebody. Ray Mundo thinks we should bet on the first person to get in an accident. No. That's a great idea. I love it.

I don't like this energy. Hold on. Elaborate, Ray. We would each put in $25 into a pot. You pick who you think is going to get in the first accident. Whoever gets into that first accident, you would either win the money or lose the money. It would be awesome. it's going to keep everybody attentive

so that you're not being the person to get in the accident. And for the love of God, can we please just call it out? That parking garage is a disaster waiting to happen. Somebody's going to get an accident. So what if we don't actually put money on it? What do you mean? That's the fun part. Because there are odds.

Like he has the odds of the person. Amy, why do you think? Well, because I already can guess. He probably has me. Am I the number one pick? You're favorite. Ray is the one that odded everybody. He put the odds on.

The number one pick is Amy. Yeah, I already. Which I would put all my money on. At two to one. So that's the meaning. you get $2 for every $1 you bet. Yeah. So she's the one if better,

she's the heavy favorite. She's the Kansas City Chiefs of getting into a wreck. That's awesome. Does it have to be a moving vehicle or can it just be wrecking to anything? It doesn't matter. It's a good point because I do tend to hit

non-moving objects. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. They're stationary. But that's the thing too. And it doesn't even have to be your fault. Right. So Amy's the favorite. Cool.

We'll just keep up with it. We have to put money on it. So it could be backing into a pillar? It could be anything. And they have to. And the pillars are huge. And they take up more. more spot than they should. Yes. Next up is Morgan at 4 to 1.

Red. Because one, she has so, Ray, ducks. Yes. He drives a Jeep. I'm surprised you can see to get up the garage with nobody else driving around. Good point. Listen, if I get a new car, I'm going to have to get one with all the technologies so I can see everything around me. Because those poles do, parking in that Jeep and how wide it is parking with those poles, it, yeah, I'm like going to hit one. You're saying poles. Do you mean ducks? Are you saying that wrong? You, just because you said you've already gotten a couple rim rolling in. Not really the term for that. I did scratch my rim on a...

So what do you call it? I mean... Not that, Amy. I did scratch my rim on like the entrance thing, because it's stupid. So fair. Are you talking about the high curb? Yes. Oh, that's a good high... Which is you called the high curb scratch, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, better than raise. But that's not an accident. That's damage. Damage to your car. That's an accident. It would be hitting a car or a pole.

Or someone would say, oh, you've been in an accident. And there's a little scratch on the wheel. I just got it buffed out. That's not an accident. Okay, so it's you and Eddie and then who? Well, then Eddie, why Eddie? He got yelled at. He already had that confrontation.

He's sloppy. And is lunchbox still lowest because he rides his bike sometimes? It's just a numbers game? Yeah, I didn't really know. Has he switched to a car? Is he still doing the part of? working it downstairs in the bike rack. Because then he's by far like the best one to...

Well, he could get hit by a car. Well, then he died. Yeah, did he die? That would be bad. Are you driving at all used to on the bike? No, I do 50-50. What do you drive? My wife's car.

Do you plan on getting a car? Eventually. The odds will change when he gets a car. But that's what Ray has audited us out. Amy's the heavy favorite to be in the first accident with Morgan following. I just don't like saying this out loud. It is what it is, Amy. But it's not.

Okay. Would you mind saying it in Spanish, Mike? Amy will be the one to, the odds? Go ahead. Amy, you're going. Amy, you'll say the primal. Exactly. There we go.

I don't say. Okay, so where do we bet? I don't hear you. Yeah, that's where do you bet. I'm in. Who do you want to say, Eddie? Well, Amy. There's got to be a house because there are odds.

There's no house. So raise the house. He'll never pay us. So that's all we're not going to do it. Anyway, good luck, everybody. It's rough out there. Yeah, it's rough out there. It's going to happen to somebody.

Especially the timing thing. It's stupid. Parking garages are genius. And they're flying down. And don't trust that mirror because that mirror's pointed down. That mirror doesn't work. No, the mirror works. It's helped me a couple times.

I see somebody coming because I just stop. I'm going to admit this right now. Oh, here we go. You hit the mirror? The corner mirror that tells you around the curb. It's a big bubble mirror. Amy's all just got worse. No, actually.

If you think about it, my eyes just got better. She's now one to one. Because now I know that there's a tool. Yeah. Bobby Bones, I recently brought my kid to a birthday party. It was at a gaming place. And the kids were playing the games and the parents had cocktails and beers. The adults were drinking. I didn't think there was anything wrong with it, but some of the other kids' parents thought it was a bad idea and we're looking down on it. In my family, we almost always have some sort of liquor available

at anyone's party, even if it's a kid. I know you don't drink Bobby, but do you think it's okay to serve alcohol at kids' parties for adults from signed social drinker? I'm going to have have to recuse myself from this because I don't drink and I don't have kids. So like both, I don't feel like there's anything wrong with it, but my opinion holds no water here. Amy, you first. Yeah, no, I think that I've seen alcohol at kids' birthday parties. And it also makes me think of Halloween where that is all about kids and trick-or-treating

and most parents are drinking that entire time. We got a roadie. Yeah. Take a rody to go trick-or-treating. And so I know that's just once a year, but that is something that is predominantly. for kids and adults are everywhere and a lot of times they have cocktail in hand. Yeah and I guess if someone's not doing a keg stand.

Yeah. Like a lot of the, it's the environment and the people that are there. But, okay, Eddie? Dude, I grew up in South Texas where, yeah, so-and-so was turning five years old, but it wasn't about that. The whole city showed up and there were pinatas and a DJ

and like just live music or whatever and beer. Like lots of beer. And that's kind of how I grew up. up. Now, when I got older and I married a white woman, things changed a little bit. Even his accent. Because, you know, like, the first time, you know, I think my son turned one or whatever, and I'm like, all right, let's get some beers and whatever. She's like, well, what do you mean? Like, why are we getting beers? Because that's not really how her family did it. But I think there's somewhere in the middle that you can do it. Have a few cocktails for the adults.

If they want to drink, it's okay. But behave yourself. Not a bad thing, though. It's not like you should look down on the alcohol at the party. Much much every kid's birthday party I have been to since having kids has alcohol. We went to one this past weekend and they said there's a bounce house in the back for the kids. There's mimosa's inside for the parents. So I mean, every birthday party has alcohol. Soccer team party. They had alcohol.

For kids or for you? No, for the adults. No, no, no. Soccer. The kids soccer. Oh, yeah. You play soccer. You're right.

You're right. My fault. Kids soccer team, you go. And they have alcohol available for the parents. But it's never like shots. It's always like, no, no, no. This is a drink. I mean, a couple drinks.

In another room, maybe. But it's not like we're doing shots. If it's drink, it's like a mimosa, like a light thing. Right, right, right. Got it. Okay, so I guess all three of, and heck, why not me? I don't know. All four of us say that it's not a big deal.

As long as the invite, it's handled appropriately. Yeah. Yeah. And you're not giving it to the kids. Correct. That'd be a different part. That's important. Yes.

I'm just calling to say to listen to Ray and Scoobo Steve just laugh back and forth at each other and it was correct to keep me awake on the road Ray and Scoop Steve are in the glass room

and we can't hear them unless they turn their mics on there's a separation there's barrier but sometimes we can see them and I can see when Ray, I'm going to laugh so hard but I can't hear it

and I go Ray, why'd you laugh? That's mostly when I'll check in with Ray when I see I'm just laughing because Ray doesn't laugh at a lot unless it's really funny Unless it's like really odd. But yeah, no, I agree. When those two get laughing, because they hear everything,

that's how you know something's funny. I appreciate that call. Here's Amy's pile of stories. So Bobby, I thought of you because I saw a clip of Martha Stewart on Drew Barrymore's show, and she was talking about how she gets guests to leave her house when the party is over. Guess what she does?

You tell them before they even get there what time the party's over to go home. Okay, well. Or, or, my favorite. If you forget to do that, you go on, you put your shorts and your cutoff on, and you walk back out while everybody's still dressed. And you don't say anything, but they're like,

oh, Bobby's in his cut off t-shirt and shorts. Yeah, I've seen that. I think that's my move, move if I've forgotten to say, hey, everybody, it's going to be rapping at 9.30 or something. Yeah, well, you've also done this exact thing that she suggests, which is, hey, I'm going to go to bed. I'll see you later. And if they don't get the hint from that,

she just starts turning off the lights. Oh. But I feel like you've got good. That's hardcore. I can respect it. It's not much you can do about that. You know, What you just do is you say, hey, the parties

and let's have everybody out by this time. And nobody gets their feelings start when it's set in front of the time because they don't feel like they're the one that's being annoying and staying too late. But I'm not too good to go in and change my clothes. I'll come out of a pair of razor bag, shorts, and a cutoff, no sleeves. And like, oh. Time for bed. Sit down in the middle of everybody still talking.

I can no problem with that. Miriam Webster announced its word of the year and it is polarization. It's defined as division into two sharply distinct opposites, which obviously that was a popular word this year with the election happening. And in no particular order, the other finalists were totality. No why? I mean, I know what it means. Well, the eclipse was in April. Oh, I don't remember that.

It feels like that's a long time ago. Demure, Fortnite, because of Taylor Swift, it's in her song, Pander resonate. and then elision is the final word that was in running for word of the year. And that is from when the boat hit the bridge. That's what that's called. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I remember what year that was. Oh, that was this year.

It was this year. I don't think that because that's the story. 2024. But when a boat hits a stationary object, it's called an elision. Because the power was out. Remember they lost power and then people were thinking it was hackers? That's terrible. But also, how about Fortnite a little bit too is the game as well?

Because they put out a new version this year as well. Oh, you think so? Yeah, and the game is way bigger than the song. I'm not saying it's not the song, but I mean, the game is a cultural monster. So the game is called Fortnite, but I know a Fortnite is two weeks, 14 days. Yeah, but the L.A. Blinken timeline didn't make the old dictionary. I know, but like, why is Fortnite called Fortnite? I'm not.

No clue. Okay. And then I have tips from a psychiatrist, Dr. Daniel Amin. You probably seeing him on social media a lot, but he recommends that we start each day with these simple eight words, and it can turn everything around. And those eight words are, today is going to be a great day. It just puts your subconscious on notice

that that's the direction you want to go in. It's no guarantee the day's going to be perfect, but he knows what he's talking about and he studies the brain. Well, I got five words I do. What's that? Has anyone seen my phone? Has.

Paul DeSosa is a sergeant for a sheriff's department in Florida, but he was in Dollywood with his family vacationing. He was hanging out with his family doing some rides when he hears like somebody crying for help. He looks over and there is a boy unresponsive. He's not breathing and he's turning blue. So what does serge do? He runs over there. He says, let me help. He does the heimlich.

Can't really find anything like lodged in his throat. So he does CPR. And then another paramedic who's also on vacation, not on duty. He goes up says, let me help. They start working on them. They get them back breathing. And the kid's going to be fine because those two were there at the park. So it just happened to be cops and paramedics nearby in the happen.

I bet you Dahliawood's full of people like that, though. That's a pretty like normal person job. Yeah. Yeah, I think so. Because like normal people care about other people, I can do that job, normal person job. Also, too, side note, I saw that Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman were in Dollywood. Just hanging out? Yeah, hanging out.

And the story's from Fox News. And I asked that with Amy because she would go, Ryan Gosling or any, yeah, of course. You shoot for the stars.

Heck yeah, man. And the fact that people are like busting his chops about, what would you expect him to do? Yeah, he's not going to get someone that's not beautiful. Not go for the biggest, most beautiful person ever. Yeah. Yeah, so any problem with that at all? No.

I got no problem with it. Who would you cast lunchbox if there was a scene you had to cast? Man. This is tough. Man, this is real tough. There's so many hoties out there. I mean, Jennifer Lawrence is smoking hot now. Halliberry, she may be a little past her prime.

Oh my gosh. Shut up. No, no, I love Hallie Berry. Amy, I'm just saying. It's not necessary. You don't have to say that. She's still beautiful. Amy, that was my number one draft pick forever.

But she may be a little past her prime. You're past your prime. Jennifer Lauren. Are you past your prime now? Yes, yes. I don't know. There's still a lot of ladies. That's a good point. Like, they have to accept the role, too, right?

I wouldn't say that I didn't think he was going to make it or couldn't make it. I think there were times that we were like definitely having to reevaluate what do the next five years look like? What do the next 10 years look like? And I mean that, yeah, in a way of like he has all the talent in the world, but this talent is weird. Like the most talented people ever sometimes don't make it. The least talented people sometimes, next thing you know, they're massive stars. And I just wonder like, you have a family. Yes, 100%.

There had to be a lot of years he was grinding, making little to no money. And you're at home with the kids going like, what's the deal here? I know. It's a wild ride. I will say we have never stopped dreaming, but I love that George is also like a smart business guy. And he's smart and he leads our family well. So there have been tough conversations, but I would say I'm always the one pushing him to not stop. George, respond to that.

I wouldn't let him give up. She is being humble. There was, I mean, you don't, this is a business where you make nothing until you make everything. There's not like an in-between where you're making like what you would make it a comfy desk job or anything like that. It's like it's zero dollars until you're rich. And so she was hustling selling real estate, raising kids and, you know, I'm on the road playing dive bars to nobody and she never wore me out about it. She always believed in it. She always knew it was going to happen. And like I carried a lot of guilt about that, especially when we had

young kids and I'm the, you know, a husband, not really providing much and chasing a dream and very selfishly one-sided on that. And so now that we're sitting here, like, on the cusp of having a second hit and, like, everything coming together. And we got to walk the CMA red carpet together this year and, like, you know, seeing the fruits of all that. It's pretty special. Yeah. I'm going to play a cowboy song in just a second.

George, would you mind me sharing a story with your wife, a story that you told me that I don't think you would mind me sharing with your wife? I just need a compliment. I know. I just, it's a good story. I would love that. I just need a confirmation. George's birthday was recently, so George's like, no doubt. Drop everything. We do George's birthday.

And so George and I are together. And Kerry, he talks about you glowingly all the time. All the time. Even when you're not around, and that's how you know how somebody really feels when they talk about, how they talk about somebody when they're not around. And he said, we're getting ready to do a lot of the stuff that, and he was super excited that he hasn't really been able to do, which is like be celebrated at awards and songwriting awards and the CMAs. And he said, you know, we're doing the CMA red carpet and we're talking

about that. And he goes, Kara put the dress on that she's wearing. Oh, buddy. And I thought that was like, as funny as it is, but also I was like, man, that's a husband that like really loves his wife. Because you guys have been together for how long? Since we were 18. Yeah, I think 15 years. And he was still like gushing at the fact that you had put on this dress and how great you looked and how excited. It wasn't about him. It was about you getting. to go and do something that he hoped you would think was awesome. Yes, that's true. He actually picked my dress.

I sent him options. He didn't tell me that part. He didn't tell me that part. Well, he voted. He voted. My vote always wins, but I let him choose. No chance she would have let me pick it out, but I got like ABC options. He tailored it.

He sewed it together in March. She kind of guided me. There were no wrong choices. Yeah, he had two. How was the right car? How was the CMA for you guys? The red carpet? That was awesome.

I love nothing more than to watch him interview because I feel like he's just really good at it and to see him have such like genuine connections with all of those people in the room that like know and just respect him and I feel like to see him belong in that environment is really something special. It was it was definitely surreal. Like I remember we're waiting when you get there, there's a step and repeat where everybody takes like their CMA picture. And it was us and it was Cody Johnson and his wife behind us, which Cody is obviously. like another level of fame. I'm waiting to get my picture taken and I turn around

and Kara's made best friends with Cody Johnson's wife and they're just chatting it up there on the carpet and she's in her head to toe gown and we're lights and carpets and everything and I was looking behind her I was like, this is pretty cool. This is different. Yeah. On the Bobby Bones show now.

George Birch. So basically you got two number ones. Are you playing shows now where you headline and they're buying tickets to see you and if so? Is that cool? Is that a change up? So that's very new, but yes, it's happening, especially has been towards the end of the year. and I still have a lot of like hard to believe that we're here feelings. And so even when we, you know, are having success and we've been going out and playing these sold

out shows with headliners as openers, now that we're headlining shows ourselves with our name on the bill, I still have anxiety all day until I walk in there and see the crowd. But we've been selling out shows as a headliner, which is, I mean, they're obviously smaller rooms, but, you know, to go to cities that I've never been to before and have a thousand people show up and buy tickets, that's not something I'm used to. And it's a really, really cool feeling. Kara, what does he get most anxious about? George kind of like flies by the seat of his pants.

And last minute loves to like pack the morning of the trip. So I kind of know to expect that. So you get anxious about him doing that. Yes. Yes. He's like, have you seen those jeans? And I'm like, I know where everything is. If I'm not there, he calls me.

And he's like, do you know where this is? I leave for Canada this afternoon. And I packed last night. And Kara walked in and she's like, are you actually packing the night? before I was like, yeah, I'm growing. Because he had to, because he's going to the airport right after this. On the way to the airport, it's like, do I need a coat?

Oh, that's a big thing. The weather, yes. Yeah, he misses the weather quite a bit. I didn't bring a coat. Should I brought a coat? George and his wife, Kara, are in studio. Kara, can you tell me the story about how you guys met? The real story.

Go for it. What do you mean the real? You're in college. Like, how descriptive can I be? Do you have a fake one, though, that you tell people? We just are like, oh, we met in college. Okay. You know.

The real one will sound fake. The real one is like we were at a costume party and we were 18 years old and he was in a fraternity and he was a pledge. And so he was dressed as a smurf. His whole body painted blue. And I was in some like cute 80s dress because it was like 80s themed night. But if you were a freshman, they gave you like a prank that you had to dress up as. And he was a smurf and like no shirt painted blue. I have a picture somewhere.

Yeah. And he kind of flirted with me a little bit. And, whole body painted blue. How do you know if a smurf is like really good looking, though? That's tough. He was kind of weird and funny, and I like that. She's always liked me for a person. But we weren't like, it wasn't until later in college.

That's when we first met. And then we went on some date parties together. What was the first date? What was the first date party? I think we can call this a date. So next to the fraternity house that I was in, I brought her to a party. We're 18. We're freshmen.

We go out, have a party, hang out together that night. and I took her to Jack in the Box after the party, and she got chicken tenders and uh, Koso fries, and I immediately fell in love after that. We're going with this. You're saying your late night meal is your first date after the party. Well, listen, we had a lot of fun in college. Yeah.

Just a one-on-one date at Jack in the Box. It's perfect. It's so funny. We dated all through college. Like, we celebrated our, I was it, our 18th or 19th birthdays together. And we never broke up. I mean, never once. And so our wedding was so much fun

because it was all of our college friends that dated and then of course broke up and still like we were solid. You have a left-handed child. Two lefties. So I'm gonna let you say. But George was accusing, I'm left-handed and he was like, were you?

I was like, Bobby, how did both of my kids turn out? When were you with my wife? I saw him on the golf course. I was like, I was not George. That's not me. That is not me. That is not genetic. That's not for me.

They're wearing big glasses now. On the Bobby Bones show now. George Birch, Beer, Beer, Truck, Truck, because I would like for you just to reinforce a story about who else is a songwriter on that song and who else got paid for that song that you wrote. That was the song that kind of opened the door for me. I had been chasing it forever and really hadn't had much success.

And I get on TikTok based on some advice from Clay Walker, actually. And the first video I see is this girl and she's making fun of country music, kind of lightheartedly. and she's like, it ain't nothing but beer, beer, truck, truck, and girls and tight jeans. And being a country music songwriter, I was like, well, it'd be cool if I defended country music and kind of made a song out of it

and showed her that I could even write a real song out of that. And so I wrote it as a rebuttal, just kind of a tongue-in-cheek verse and a chorus, and I posted it. Ended up going super viral, got me a record deal, and opened a lot of doors for me. And so I sent her a message, and I was like, hey, you know,

I wrote a song out of the video that you made, and I want to make you a songwriter on it because you are what inspired it. And she ended up hitting me back. and she was an elementary school music teacher just outside of North Carolina. And she said she grew up listening to country music and had gotten away from it,

but loves it again now because she's been getting royalty checks in the mail from that song. That's awesome. I gave her half the money. She's a teacher and he gave her half the money. I love that story. That's like good character George guy. Yes.

That's cool. Kara is here, George's wife. Give me the three best qualities about George. I can't say fearless in this industry, but I love that you don't let fear stop you. He's, so he's courageous. He's very loving. Like, to his family, we're the most important thing in his world.

And so that's probably my favorite thing about you. And then you're encouraging. I was just laughing, telling them back there that I think I need you more than you need me because they were like playing up the supportive wife thing. And I was like, oh, but he's got a big role to fill at home. And then now what's the three most annoying things about Georgia? That if you could improve. Yeah, the cowboy boots.

There's like 12 pairs of cowboy boots just at our room around the bed at all times. Oh, not even organized in the closet. You're saying there's just 12 like straps. He just takes the shoes off wherever they come off. Yeah, yeah. And they're cowboy boots are bigger and they're everywhere. Yeah, so that one's pretty good. Okay.

Our house is a is a landmine field of Cowboys and Crocs. Yeah, between me and my boys. Yeah. Okay, that's number one. away. What else is annoying about you that you don't know where anything is located in our house? So he does. He truly does call me and he's like, have you seen like my toothbrush? And I'm like, well, like the basics. The basics, yep. Which I will say, he's on the go a lot. So he has just like.

But the toothbrush, though, let's be honest, that's like someone you should know where it is. You should know where it is. That's like the sink. I got to give her a prop. She, like the house is always. So Matt Stell, who's also a country singer, is one of my best friends. And our girls We're out of town at the time, and he doesn't have a living girlfriend yet. He's been dating a girl, and I think they are going to move in together. They're amazing. But anyways, he had come over to the house, and we were going to grill steaks, and he goes into the pantry, and I just hear him go, oh, my goodness.

And I, like, come running, I think something's wrong, and he goes, is this what a house that a woman lives in looks like, because everything is, like, so tidy in the house and labeled, so. I thought he was going to find the toothbrush in the microwave or something. Oh, my goodness. Okay, one other care. You got to have me three. What else? An annoying thing about your husband?

Probably the ironing. Like he'll be ready to go out the door, needs to leave in five minutes. And he's like, should this shirt be ironed? Does this look wrinkled? When there's not really enough time to fix it, unless you do it right then. Yes. It's just kind of the last minute polishing. We like to win it.

He just needs a woman's touch. Exactly right. So Texas is in the college football playoff. How you feel? I feel good. Was rough losing to. to Georgia to get here, but I like the way our draw shook out, and, you know, anytime you get a chance to make a run of the national championship, life's good. Yeah, I'll pass. I'm from Arkansas.

We're not allowed to like Texas. But don't forget, he's also a Cowboys fan, too. But he also went to, yeah. Yeah, I hear you. George was a great athlete. He is a great athlete. Like, he's a great golfer, probably the best golfer in all the country music. He doesn't say that. I'll say that. That gets me in trouble, with my other friends who play golf, if I'm being honest. But I would say mid-pickleball player. Does he ever come home and complain that he can't beat me in pickleball? Yes.

Okay, good. I just want to know. 100%. It's all I need to hear. Yes, I'll let you know that. It haunts my dreams, actually. I have no other questions. Just wanted to end with that.

So why is that? I mean, why's what? Why can't he, why is he a mid-pickle ball player when he's so athletic? I wish I knew, Amy. Anybody else in the league, and I hate to say this in front of Eddie and obviously, you know, kick up Kevin and all the boys, I can dust anybody else in the league. dust them.
