that are worth their runtime. And if you know me, you know I hate a long movie. Disgusted by it. When I see a movie over an hour and 45 minutes, I have to start debating. Okay. It isn't even worth it. I start to go, I start to think of the reasons I shouldn't watch the movie if it's over 1.45.

And most of them now are over two hours. Like, they feel the need to just put in scenes that we don't give a crap about. Like, let's try it down. And so, I have, and they have 20, I'm not going to go through all of them. But long movies that are mostly close to three hours, they say are worth the watch. Can you guys think of a long movie that's good?

I can't force them. Shawshank Redemption, that's it. Those are the two. No, no, no. Titanic. Braveheart. I don't, time movies. Oh, fareded. Braveheart overrated.

Thought it was good. Maybe you need to watch it again. Thought it was good. I thought it was good. I didn't think it was like one of the greatest of all time. And Titanic? You don't think it's not worth the three hours? I went with my buddy Scotty.

Yeah, it was 1997. Valentine's Day. Yeah, with my buddy Scotty. Maybe I just don't have a good feeling about it in general. Top 10. The Leopard, 1963, two hours and 41 minutes, no idea. Boyhood, which was interesting. 2014, I don't think it's worth the length, but they shot it over like 10 years, right?

Yes, because he had to get older. The boy did. they literally shot a little bit of this movie over, it may not be 10 years exactly, but it's... There's something around there. Yeah. How many? 12 years.

They shot this movie. Really cool, a little long. I'm fine with watching some of those when they show like the sun come up, and it's like... Time lapse. Do that with the kid. Just watch them in the room. Time lapse.

Save us half an hour on that thing. Pretty good movie, though, but really interesting concept. Hoop Dreams. I don't know. Let's see. Ligon once upon time in India, no idea. It's a mad, mad, mad world, 1963, no idea. A touch of Zen, no idea.

Titanic comes in at number four. Boom. Three hours and 14 minutes. Totally worth it. They should have broken up in two movies. Because you want to know if they're going to make it or not. Because some people did, by the way. Correct.

In Titanic. Everybody didn't die. Right. There were survivors. Malcolm X in 1992, three hours and 20 minutes. And Hamlet in 1996, four hours and two. Oh, no way. I remember that one.

Hamlet? In 96? Mm-mm. No. The Godfather makes it at over three hours. Did you watch the Godfather's Morgan? Was that one of those sets you watched? Yeah, I did.

Remember you guys made me watch it? I'm sorry. I apologize now. You feel bad about it. Yeah, my bad. You sent me in as the Canary, and I did not like them. I think you were watching a lot of movies anyway. Yeah, no, like I've been to watch movies hardcore, but yeah, Godfather was not good.

Lord of the Rings, Return of the King. I watched the Lord of the Rings movie in the same fashion. It was Christmas and I was alone and I'm like, I'm going to see if these are worth what everybody says. And I watched every Lord of the Rings movie. And I thought,

me, and that is not a popular thing to say. I like Game of Thrones. So I'm not anti what Lord of the Rings was about. But I was like, the first one they finished it and there wasn't even an ending. They're just walking. Because they knew they're going to make

another one? I imagine we're gonna make a bunch. Mike D, you're movie guy. Did you like Lord of the Rings? No, I think they're overrated. Nice. Well, if everybody hates them, they're not overrated anymore. Slowly getting back to rated normally. The Avengers Endgame was three hours and one minute. That was worth it. So good.

I liked it, but I remember leaving going, it was a little long. Really? Yeah, a little long there. I think that's it that I would know. Mike, did you watch The Five Bloods on Netflix? Yeah, that was pretty good. three hours long. Yeah.

Chadrick Bozeman. The Irishman. That's a good one. It was really long and it was pretty good. No, it wasn't. It was like they got older, right? Yeah. Like De Niro and they talked about their gang days back in the day and they were old men.

They used that de-aging effect on them to be younger. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, I remember that. I thought that was pretty good. Yeah, I did too. And I think I watched it in two parts. Yeah, break it up to watch it. It's the TV shows now are the lengths of movies,

what movies should be sometimes. were there ever, it just seems like in the good old days you'd go on in the movie be an hour, 15 minutes, and you'd go home. I don't know though, because gone with the wind is like really long too. Yeah, but they just figured out cameras then, dude. They were just milking it. They got a camera to work. They just left it on sometimes.

This is awesome. Lunchbox thinks I need to, when we go to Vegas this weekend, his idea for me is to gamble a lot to show off in front of Caitlin. Yeah, you want to, if you want to get her like, wow, wide-eyed and really get her turned on and everything, No, no. Guys, if he tolls out those money, throws it on the craps table, and he grabs those dice, and he starts, woo, and he throws those dice, you are going to see her light up like a Christmas tree, and it is going to be like, wow, that's my man. And trust me, good times in Vegas.

I don't think that, now that we're married. It's going to be like, why are you wasting her money? I don't even think she'll be like that. I think she'll be like, okay, just let me know when you're done. Yeah, I'll be at the room. No, no. If you go to a craps table, you've got the guy. standing there and the woman is usually there on his arm just like, oh my gosh, so cool. So cool. I'm just telling you, if you want her to be impressed,

throw some bucks down on the gambling this weekend. But I don't think that's true because if I lose money, she could be like, you know, we could have done with that? Yeah. Exactly. But, because you look so powerful with those dice in your hands. When you're at the craps table and you are in control of all that money on the table, that is power. Everyone gets a turn though. I understand, but she looks at you.

He's not special. Okay. But the thing is about you won't lose. Do a case study. Here's what I think. Early in a dating relationship, that could be kind of a fun little baller move if you're tossing chips being good at something. She's like, oh, wow, look at it. It could be.

You're in Vegas. Hey, let's go. You got a few hundred bucks down there. Oh, splash, seven, 22. Said hut? I don't know. You call them football plays out there. I have no idea.

Kill, kill. It'd have to be winning, right? It could backfire. It could. But then you just go drop all the money and lose. But do you want to be with that girl, though? If she, like, her grip gets tighter when you're winning, but then when you're losing it's slowly like, you don't want that. No.

I do see, though, where she would think it was fun that you know how to play really well. Not winning. But if you're like, if you're like, let me get 12 on the 6, 12 on the 8, let me get, you know. That's, like, impressive. Yes, it's absolutely impressive when you're tossing the chips down there. With the wife, I just don't think that's a thing. Has she ever seen you do it before? No.

No. I don't really do it much in it. That's what I'm saying. I mean, think about it. You definitely haven't been to Vegas with her before. Exactly, guys. I'm telling you. Maybe you should try it.

That's up. Welcome, guys. I'm telling you, I'll help you with the ladies. Okay. This is his wife you're talking about. And I don't need help. Right. Like, I'm all good.

But we are, I don't know that I'm even going to gamble. Oh, come on. How do you go to Vegas without gambling? This is the kind of talk she doesn't want to hear. But I'll tell you this. We had to get COVID tested. I got my result yesterday. We did a wrap.

We have to upload it into an app. You know, everything is super COVID-controlled. And if you work for the company, you had to be vaccinated. Then you got a COVID test as well because there are a breakthrough cases. I went to the Arkansas game on Saturday. If there was a chance that I was going to get COVID, it was there. No doubt about it. I'm talking about, no rule.

Elevators were 15 deep. Like, and, now I understand when I go to a situation like that and people want to take pictures and stuff, that's what it is. And if people are like putting their arms, just spitting on me, if I was going to get COVID. And I don't want to jinx myself and get it in Vegas. But I just think I would have got it then. And I didn't. Now I kind of feel like Iron Man. I'll be honest with you. Yeah. Because I have a couple friends who had, who was vaccinated and still got it, had very light symptoms. But they were like, I got like a nose thing. They got like a little sore throat.

And it went away the next day. And they got tested. And they're like, I have COVID. Didn't lose their smell or taste. You know, it seems like the vaccinated folks are getting it much lighter if they get it. But we got tested. We were at the game Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. Yesterday was Wednesday. We should have had it by then.

There's enough incubation time for that to. And it was negative and we were medical miracles. Wow. Caitlin goes, Fouchy shit, study me. But we don't, we're good. Like, we're good. We don't have it. So now I feel kind of a little more comfortable to even going to gamble in Vegas.

if we do decide to gamble. Do you have to wear a mask in the casino? You don't have to. It's up to you. Maybe they've changed it. I went back in July, and it was a, it says, the CDC recommends you wear a mask inside. It's up to you. I'm going to wear a mask.

Why do I need one? Oh, yeah, you're iron. You're iron man. That's right. Now watch me get it in Vegas. But, yeah, we were worried yesterday, not because we had any symptom, but because if we had it,

we probably were going to get it from that experience. But it was worth it. It was what I mean. If you would have told me, oh, don't get me started. I've done more interviews this week about that game than I have for any project I've ever had coming out. People are like, hey, we come on the show and talk about that game. And so every day I've had a couple interviews where they've been interviewing me about that game. Raymondo has some radio hacks.

If you're an artist listening to this, to get your song actually played on the air. Yep. So you've been watching how it's done, how the business is done. Correct. Over the last 10 years. And so people that are like, how do I get my song played? You're actually going to give them a few tips. Yeah, I got four of them.

Okay, here we go. Stand on Music Row with the title of your song. All the labels are here, all the radio stations. All it takes is one person to see the title and look it up. Like hold a sign up. Yes. I have not seen anyone do that. No.

I've seen billboards. I can see how that would work. And now if I see a billboard of somebody that's a new artist with a new song, mostly I'm just like, I've seen it 10 times. And I'm driving and I'm not going to get on my phone and look. One time I think Eddie brought someone to the table. Was that a billboard artist you saw? Oh, yeah.

Yeah. I don't even remember his name. Me either. But I remember listening and it was good. We played it on the air. But holding a sign, you say. Okay, what else? Get the email of presidents of labels or DJs

and email them your song. That's what Chris Jansen did with you. I knew Chris though already. Oh. Yeah, Chris and I were already friendly when by me a boat when he first recorded it. Oh, and by DJs you meant Bobby? I was thinking like DJ Silver.

I hate being called a DJ. Yeah, I thought you were talking like a DJ at a club. If anyone calls me a DJ, like I'm just, eh. He just did. Yeah, he really just called you a DJ. He did. He did. But people actually get DJ songs to play in clubs.

Yeah, and that could work. Like, that is a thing where it's like, hey, would you play my song? Here's 20 bucks and they'll kind of mix it in. Here's why I hate being called a DJ. One, there are no discs. Two, I don't pick music. I'm not a disc jockey. Three, they don't care what I do with the music.

As long as I play one or two songs an hour they have scheduled in here, they don't give a crap. No, I can't occasionally, and I do just pick songs and be like, this is a good song, let's play it. But I'm not a DJ. Back in the day, I think I used to be a DJ when in 1998, when I'd be like, coming out number four on the countdown is Chumbawamba. All right, here it is, the hot hits of five. That's a DJ. Yeah, and you actually DJed parties.

And I would DJ parties. I would, now, what's the term? I would be a personality. They don't pay me to play music. They don't pay us to play music. We could come in here and play no music. As a matter of fact, I would love that. That's not going to have.

Nothing would make me feel better than be able to come in here again and play no music and just do a full five-hour talk show like we used to do back in the day. Except for I'm going to need a bathroom break and that's normally when we get to go. We take them on the air. We take a microphone with you. But if we like a song like. But we play songs. Goodvin. This is what I think. This is what I think the future.

The future of this is. I'm going to tell you right now the future of this is. What is? The future of this is actually the past of this. Whoa. Bear with me. You have a few folks. Get in my time machine.

I should be able to pick all the music. I don't want to. I'd order to talk and then play a few songs that I like in the morning. Because for the most part, you know, it's tough because there's a lot of places you can get music. I should be able to program the whole morning show if I wanted to. Okay. And now you don't, right? No, and some of those crap, I'd never play.

And some of the crap, I'd play a lot more. And basically, I guess everything's crap to me, but I still like somebody. I still do. But there would be some of the artists that I would play, too, that don't get played. I think people would come for the whole experience. But what do I know? But I do think, because that's back in the day, that's like Wolfman Jack type stuff.

Yeah. Breaking artists. But there was also very illegal because he was to pay the DJs to play songs. And he was broadcasting out of Mexico. And it is. So, yes. Very illegal.

But I think that they should just go, you know what? This is your five hours. You program it how you see fit. So when will that future come into play? Next week. I don't know. I don't know, because I don't want to...

Even if there was some kind of deal, like, you know what? You can program the music from the 5am hour, because we're at central time, 6 a.m. Eastern. You program the music 5 and 6, and then you give me 7, 8, 9 to do whatever I want. Ooh, a little compromise. And let's do it for a year and see what happened. Let's see which part has, you know, better ratings. Although don't give me started the rating system either. Everything's flawed.

But I think... that I would win. After everything's said and done and results come in. And can't do it on like a one month basis, but even six months at a time, I think you would see better results. Because you know what I would play? My Maria by Brooks and Dunn.

Come on. You know, do you know what I would play? And it wouldn't be where I'm jumping all over formats. I'm not going to throw in some biggie. I could. I do them to dance party. But there would be some, what they call Americana music now,

which is basically just country music. They just had to find a different name for it because it wasn't getting played on the radio, so they needed to create a format for it, which I think a lot of Americana is actually what, you know, it's what people consider traditional country music. And there's room for everything. But, you know, there'd be a little bit of that on there.

I'd probably play some Tyler Childers a little more. I'd probably play an artist that can't really find a home because there's not like a radio format. They don't need a radio format because they've found success in their own ways but then I would I'd play Sam Hunt I love Sam Hunt

then follow that up maybe there's a tear in my beer the version with Hank Jr. and senior. Love that. Can we play Willie too? It just depends but those old songs I have to tell a little story about

so the new listeners wouldn't know. Okay we can come up with a story and poncho and lefty. Sure. And it wouldn't be all classic all the time maybe one or two a day. Love it.

But I just think That's the future when music is so readily available everywhere all the time. Like, you got to do something. Like, you got to do something. But that's old school, though. That's old school where the DJs then would pick. So in essence, I'd kind of be back to being a DJ and a personality. But right now, I hate being called a DJ.

I hate being called a DJ more than I hate being called Bobby Jones. Wow. Mark that down in your book. Write that in your journal. Got it. I will go on some shows and I'll be like, And here's Bobby, we're going to interview Bobby Jones today. And I'm like, that stinks.

But if they're like, we're going to talk to DJ Bobby Bowens, take my ear, butt out and walk off. Oh my gosh. Have you ever had a double like we're going to have on DJ Bobby Jones? I might explode. Yeah. You know, it could happen. Yeah, it could.

But that's what I would think that the future of this is, you know, on this level where we're just playing. It's all about personalities and what do they provide to you. Not just talking, not just compelling content, but why are they picking these songs? I don't think anybody has it exactly right yet. But I'll give it a try. The boss is listening.

Like, I have a work email. Like, hit me there about work email. How do they get your business? personal email. I don't know, and that's what irritates the piss out of me. You know how? How? They ask someone who has it. Okay, well, don't give it. Oh, I got a gift for my artist. It's like showing up to my house, knocking on my front

door, going, I'd like to play you this CD. That'll be the last time I give them your email. Wait, do you know who it was? No. I don't want to say who exactly, but it was a viral TikTok artist. And their manager was like, oh, we need you to play. And I was like, how do you even have my email? I have like three email addresses that are public, but how do you have like the one where I only talk to my friends on with?

Weird. Weird. I think of Scoop Steve. I'm beyond. Ooh. I know. Or it's just a really good manager. I think TikTok count me out.

I know it wasn't. I know it wasn't. Scooby Steve actually like my bodyguard in many places. He's shill. You ever watch Succession where the main guy is like, hey, listen, I just want to thank you guys because I don't even know the crap that you've keeping me out of. Like that's what Scoobo Steve is.

I don't even know what the crap scuba Steve keeps me out of. Yeah. But I know Scoobo Steve's keep me out of a lot of crap and me being just going either. They were getting sad, angry, annoyed. Like, he's all, again, he's my fullback. He's just blocking the way so I can just try to come in and do this show. And sometimes there's stuff, and I'm like, oh, God, dang. And I know Scoop Steve hates to tell me about it.

Yeah. He's like, yes. I got a few things that I want to tell you, but that's for another day. Oh, right. Ray, what's number three? Yeah, it was send food and an interesting angle, like Aaron Goodvin, how he got, he just said, can I get it played during the dance party? Nobody'd ever ask that before.

And he brought Chick-fil-A. No, he did that when he showed up. Yeah, the food, I don't think works so much. He got in the studio at that point. Yeah, but he, okay, so he's already in, but he's still. But the point is how to get on. Okay, I got you. Like, he just brought that because he was being nice.

He did send cookies when he sent this picture here. Yeah, with the, yeah, he did. Like, decorated cookies. Okay. Yeah, he didn't give the ask of, hey, will you play my song and add it to a playlist? He was like, just play it in that 20 seconds you do the dance party. No one's ever done that. And this guy, first of all, if the song sucked, it wouldn't have been played,

but I would have never even listened to it. I get so many people, I get people leaving stuff on my car sometimes. And you could tell he's probably trying, I mean, and he's trying everything like a lot of artists do that want their stuff out there because even he was like, oh man, this pitch actually worked. So, like, I thought it was cool to hear him say. that because he's not scared to throw stuff out there and I'm sure he's done a lot that hasn't stuck but this one worked and he went specific at this show like nobody else is doing a Friday morning dance party yeah there are shows now that implement other types of music because they know that we do it

and it's been extremely successful for us but nobody does this and he had to know this happens on this exact show and then create a pitch right for it like he went into the niche nailed it loved it here's performance on the show today and he's really good had no idea sometimes I'll have I don't know if I've admitted this on the show before if I'm on the fence about I guess

I'll have Mike D go and scour YouTube and listen to some live performances and be like hey are they good and sometimes he's like no and I'm like let's not book them then I don't want to be I don't want everybody to lose because if they're not good that if they're not good live I don't want them to look bad to our audience

I don't want me to feel embarrassed because sometimes it's uncomfortable for me and I don't even want to look up and I don't like that. It's hard for me to watch somebody when they're it's not that good. In this room when we get to see everybody good all the time. I'm in a bar something great. Like everybody's learning.

But in here, it's tough sometimes. Who are some of those people? I'm glad you asked. I made a list of seven. But I'll say this. There was an artist once I'm not going to say who it was. I remember. Who came in and was really bad. And he walked out and we were like,

ooh. Or she. This one. was a he. No, I know who it is. And now he's awesome. And he's a star. Oh, I don't know who is. And he live is really good. Oh, I know exactly he were talking about. And it was

one of those instances where we should have looked and then we'd have been like, no, but if we had to check back later, he had room to grow and he grew, and he's so good now. Who are you talking about? Oh, you don't remember? You and I talked about it and we were doing it. I know. I know. And now I'm trying to think who it is because the person

I had in mine never got better. but my point is I probably went a little too early on this person as they were still developing live because they had some good recorded music and if I would have waited they would have come in and they're so good now

I mean they're just I've seen them perform live as well I don't know I got a message about some other drama from an artist yeah well let's read it no No. Not yet.

Can you say who that artist was? No, I don't think so. They're great. I like the, I don't want to talk about how bad they were when they first came in. And I like them a lot, too. Are you really thinking who it is? I know who it is? I mean, yes.

Say it, Amy. No, I don't say it. No, I'm not going to say it because I don't want to, yeah, it was a really weird unfortunate thing. I have a friend that's friends with them. Don't write it down. Don't even tell lunchbox. Don't blurt it out. How can I say this?

Lunchbox is passing a piece of paper around the room to try to get... What are you saying? You and I have hung out with a lot of people together, but we've hung out with them. Yep. Yep. Thank you. Yeah, you're right. The person is... I'm going to leave it there.

My only point is Mike D. will now go and look, and if we're going like, a perfect example of someone we did that to and we're like, we got to bring her in on the show, was Tierra. You research and she was good. When I was like, I really like her music. Mike, please, because she was so new. and she hadn't been signed to a record label yet, and I was like, Mike, will you please go do a YouTube dive on her? And he did, and he was like, yeah, she's really good.

So she came in and crushed it. And then I was so moved at how good and how great she was to talk to, like, I had her over at my house and we did the talk show. I tried to hire her for Bobby Fest. She was on, like, her bachelor at party, I think, because she's getting married. Like, she's my favorite new artist is Tierra. I just think she's the bees' knees. But that's somebody we did and it worked out well.

with. But I can tell you off the air if you know. I'm supposed you don't know. I just forgot because I know we had that conversation recently. Ashley McBride is on my podcast. That's somebody who can sing the walls off this place. Tomorrow. We actually did the interview yesterday. And why I said yesterday like that, I don't know, but yesterday. Yesterday? Yesterday? But she came by for an hour. We don't have a lot of experience hanging out. We just, our pads have across. But she came by and it was great. We talked about, let's see, you have a few clips here. And Carly cut it first because she was cutting music first. But she talked about her first instrument, and she loved music so much, but her hands aren't big enough for a guitar.

And her dad played me. People played music in her family. So she had to get a small guitar, aka a mandolin, to learn that. Well, they wouldn't let me play guitar at first because I was too small to hold it safely. So they let me bang on a mandolin. I remember I was probably in kindergarten or first grade, going outside to the driveway and rubbing my fingers on the concrete because I thought that would help me get calluses.

I was tired of my fingers being sore. But it did teach my right hand a lot about rhythm and making it hit the strings I want it to hit. So I didn't have to struggle when it came to guitar with how do I strum and what are the patterns. So I think that was probably beneficial, but I was just terrible. It was really cool to hear her story too about when she was in college

and what her professor said. And I was like, well, that's weird. He said that, but he kind of kicked her in the butt. It was like, you need to quit school. to pursue music? Just quit school. It's a great story. So check that out.

Because Ray's the one, you know, getting the music, putting it in. So it's like, oh, if you make it easy on people and its quality is up there, right? Yeah. And so I was like, I did that thing on TikTok. I believe other radio. people saw it and that's why it's now trending to be a number one song because my TikTok a year ago. That's sad. I think you're giving yourself a little too much influence there. I was just throwing it out there to see if anybody agreed saw the TikTok. I will say that when he, Ray posted it from Oscar's when I was like, look at Ray being way ahead of things. This was last Christmas. I had that thought. Thank you. Didn't you also take credit for Parker McCollum? Yes. That was a fishing boat thing in the golf and my buddy said there's a guy named Parker McCollum. If you play his song, it'll help out with

the business deal. It'll make it seem like I have poll. And we actually never even did the bit, but I kind of talked about it a little bit. But you never mentioned him, did you? I wanted to. But you never did. Yeah, you never did. That's my point. Yeah. So you can't take credit because and nothing ever. He, but I have the notes of when I proposed it like four or five years ago before Parker McCollum was even a breath. And I mean, now he's massive. He's huge.
