It's time for the Bobby Bones Post Show. Here's your host, Bobby, Bow, Bow,
Starting point is 00:02:00 I just got a message here. Hey, have you scheduled a pre-CMA haircut? Do I need a haircut? My hair's a... It's so long. It's a disaster right now. It's mostly for guys, though. Isn't it like just, you know, the neck hair and the ear hair?
Starting point is 00:02:19 I guess, but my hair gets so curly that if it grows, even now, you can start to see it balling up. If it gets any more than this, it is impossible to manage. You think I need a haircut before the CMAs? No, you can do some with that. Like, that's good hair. Like, you can work with that. You can't ask any hair questions.
Starting point is 00:02:35 What do you mean? Why? Because he has no. Did he used to? But I wish I did. And if I had hair like that, I would totally support that to CMA. My hair grows so fast. But it's, again.
Starting point is 00:02:42 Anyway, let me just. Yes, dude. So, wait, do I get a haircut or no? I think you could, some cleaning up around the neck. Just a neck trim and a cleanup would be nice. I wasn't even committed to going. But now I guess I am. To what?
Starting point is 00:02:58 To what? To a hair. Oh. What? I'm into the hair place. No. What do you mean committed to going? I wasn't going until like four days ago.
Starting point is 00:03:07 Oh. Why? Because I wasn't going to go. Okay. I wasn't going to go. I didn't go last year. I wasn't going to go. They won't give me a seat this year.
Starting point is 00:03:16 And so I was like, eh, I'll just support it from home. What do you mean a seat? We don't have seats? You don't have seats like on the floor. Wait, they're not giving you a seat on the floor? Wait, wait, wait, we don't have seats on the floor? No, lunchbox. The show doesn't.
Starting point is 00:03:31 It's still COVID rules. Oh. What did you wait your hand off? Why are we going? Well, because we're going to, this is why we're going, because we're going to get our award, and we're going to be very happy about it, as I've been told.
Starting point is 00:03:45 Yeah. I am happy about it. I just, you know, they haven't been, my relationship's not awesome with the CMAs right now. Hopefully one day had to be better. But yeah, so we're going to go get our award. We're going to be awesome. And I'm walking in the red carpet, doing all that stuff.
Starting point is 00:04:00 But it's like, I was like, okay, I'll go. And then I told Caitlin, I was like, hey, we're going to go, please go. Because, you know, she's not, she's not someone who wants to go walk a red carpet, but I was like, will you do it for me? And she was like, okay. And so we go and, you know, she's picking out her clothes. And I'm like, I guess we're not sitting down there.
Starting point is 00:04:20 And she's like, oh, I'm sorry about all that. We'll still walk the red carpet. And she's like, okay. So she didn't really want to, but now she will. So do I get to walk the red carpet? Not unless you were invited. Oh. It's not a radio thing.
Starting point is 00:04:35 I've been invited? No. Oh. Yeah. I don't know. Oh, crap. I know. You wouldn't want to anyway.
Starting point is 00:04:44 It's a cluster. It'd be awesome, man. It's a cluster. I'll tell you what, this is what I'll do. One day I'll take you as my date. Would you do that in order to walk the white carpet? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:53 Okay. About how you guys want to talk to be? Hey, hey, hey. Well, initially, I wanted to go as Brooks and Dunn. Oh, yeah. And I thought that would be funny. And then I was told that wouldn't be that funny. So.
Starting point is 00:05:06 I said, okay, it won't be that funny. But we're all going, right? Everybody have your clothes? You're going to go. We're going to do our pre-award show thing. Yeah, I got to find something to wear. I don't even know what to wear. You know whatever you want.
Starting point is 00:05:16 I mean, just dress nice. Yeah, yeah, I always do. I have a spray tan booked. I feel like that. I'm not doing that. Well, I got to get a haircut. But yes, that's the situation. Oh, man, I'm just, I'm shocked. We're not on the floor, though.
Starting point is 00:05:27 But you've never been. Yeah, they never put you on the floor. Yeah. When? No. Yeah. You're talking about full, when they do the big stage, they put a thousand people on the floor.
Starting point is 00:05:37 Yeah. But you haven't been in the last few years when they've... No, I haven't been in the last few years. Right, because it's been COVID and they've been tables. Right. I understand. I didn't know that. But that's what they're doing this year. Tables.
Starting point is 00:05:46 Yeah, you'll have a seat. I think it'll be back like in the round the bowl. Yeah, yeah, with the normal folks. Gen pop. Yeah, that's a little weird. It's demoralizing. No, it's not. Just saying.
Starting point is 00:06:01 I mean, so what's your plan? I mean, we're going to be sitting next to our listeners. They're going to be like, what are you guys doing up here? I don't worry about it. Wait, you're getting the award and then just... We are getting the award. But I'm saying you specifically, we are getting the award and then you are leaving?
Starting point is 00:06:14 No, to his seat. I don't know. I think we're going to go, we're going to get our award, which we're very happy. Yeah, it's cool. Yes. I still need to know if I can get a replacement
Starting point is 00:06:23 for my last one because it broke. You dropped it immediately since you got it last time. And then we're going... And then I'm supposed to walk the red carpet and answer questions. And then there's like an area backstage or something. We'll probably do that.
Starting point is 00:06:35 then we'll probably go to dinner, something like that. Yeah, don't waste the dressed up. Yeah, we're dressed up, so we'll go have dinner. Oh, man. What's up? I'm just trying to reevaluate my life. Just fully? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:49 I had no idea. I was not on the floor. But there's not a floor, unless you're, like, one of the 12 tables with all the nominees or, like, random people who, yeah. Yeah, yeah, I know, I just thought me hang with artists. But I don't know, just pardon this for a second. I don't know that you ever sat in like the first 10 rows anyway. Yeah, that one year we won.
Starting point is 00:07:13 We saw Willie Nelson. No, but like first 10 rows? 50, like 50. Yeah. 50? May 15. I mean, we're like right next to Willie. No. You weren't?
Starting point is 00:07:23 No. But don't be sad. I get it because I was frustrated too because I was like, oh, yeah, okay, I'll go. Where am I sitting? And they were like, oh, we don't have a seat for you. I was like, oh, but you guys just asked me to go. Yeah, so I guess I got to tell my wife. don't worry about it
Starting point is 00:07:36 but she knows she should go it's the whole thing oh sit hang out okay I don't think she can go who says who I don't even know if I have a chair for and I don't know if I can find a babysitter that early
Starting point is 00:07:51 you mean a ticket does he have a ticket for his wife yeah every has a plus one yeah but I don't think I can find a babysitter that early but you led with you don't have a ticket yeah well I didn't you know we're going to go and have a good time no I am I'm ready you shouldn't let my my unfriendly relationship. No, me and the CMAs are tight.
Starting point is 00:08:08 Great. We talk. Yeah. I get emails from them all time and I respond. Mine is only about a relationship that isn't great. It's not about anything else. But I'm going to go and show that, look at me, I'm a team player. Not about us.
Starting point is 00:08:20 I'm going with us, obviously. Not about us. Anyway, so I got to get haircuts. We're all that stemmed from. Do you want to shoot some videos here on camera? Can you move your water bottle? Yeah. That's my third.
Starting point is 00:08:32 Yeah. I'm my third water bottle of the day. The great thing about drinking how much of water is you feel better. The bad thing is you've got to pee all the time. And I don't go to the bathroom. We do this whole show and I might. Might get up once. I got to go now.
Starting point is 00:08:44 We'll go. I haven't to shoot the videos. You're fine. Okay. Just come back because we're not done with this quite yet. All right. Thank you all for listening to the post show. Go check out our 25 whistles Instagram page, if you don't mind.
Starting point is 00:08:56 I have to give away a pair of old school rebucks coming up in the next day or so, which is pretty cool. I said I would when we had a certain amount of followers when we got there. And then I got to go post. So if you can still go follow at 25 whistles, you can be in the mix there. Stanley picks the winner. We'd play a game. We have everybody comment, and then he goes in, I put 10 piece of dog food down.
Starting point is 00:09:13 He picks one. That's the number one. Then he picks three. That'd be three. And he picks seven. That's 137 in the comment section. Pretty genius if he has me. All right, Eddie, we go over there?
Starting point is 00:09:23 That's not straight. I can't read that. It's crooked. Scooby, you tired? Just because it's crooked. I mean, you can't forget. You slept three hours and four days? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:34 You look tired. All right. go. Is this just one line? All right, here we go. Everybody good? We're rolling? Your music, your station, U.S.106. Is this on camera? Just audio. This one's just one line on camera?
Starting point is 00:09:52 Yeah, it's like a TV. It's for TV spots. It's big. Me looking like this? My hair? All right. Okay, thank you. Here we go. Three, two. Your music, your station, U.S. 1061. Let me give you one more. your music, your station, US 1061. Hey, give me one where you're like,
Starting point is 00:10:11 your station. Really? Yeah. Okay. Your music, your station. US 1061. How's that one? Yeah, it's the winner.
Starting point is 00:10:23 It's our old school. That's how Eddie and I met. He was my director, producer on a TV show. A local shoe. Seattle, teacher feature. You want to grab a. on your computer? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:37 You can do that from your computer? Yeah. Dang. That's cool. All right. Are we on camera for Facebook doing this? All right. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:10:51 What? It's like you're saying organic. Organic? But it's Orbanic. Orbanic? That's not like organic. That'd be organic. That's the opposite of... Orbanic.
Starting point is 00:11:04 Got it. It's like organic, but orbinic. Wait, what the... Sorry, read it. Go ahead. The October teaching. feature winner is Austin Orbanic, a career and
Starting point is 00:11:19 technical education, junior high teacher in Puyallup. Austin was nominated by Trevin Mercer, Trevin, appreciate that. Trevin shared, Mr. Orbanic teaches the students everything from AutoCad to building 3D models designed by students to using power tools. He spends his own money to buy supplies for a student.
Starting point is 00:11:35 Despite other offers, Mr. Orbanic has chosen to stay and continue to teach 7th, 8th, and 9th grade and is one of the most sought after elective classes in school. Austin, congratulations. We're sending you $250 to help with your class or a nice day for you. So go treat yourself. Do you know a teacher that we should celebrate?
Starting point is 00:11:51 Tell us all about them at 989 the bull.com. Is this name Austin Orbanic? Austin. Okay, cool. That's a young name for a teacher. Austin? Yeah. No, I hear you.
Starting point is 00:12:10 But I was like, usually teachers are like, Gerald. What's this one? How is the speed of that? Fast, but I, I'm good. Orbit, Bell Media, Internal Video. What is this? Media convention.
Starting point is 00:12:28 If you guys ever wanted a real life behind scenes, look what we do on the show. You're listening to it right now. All right. Scuba sits on the stage. Eddie directs me from camera. And we do this. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:12:39 Hey everybody, it's Bobby Bones. I just want to take a moment and say hello and welcome to Orbit Media. If you've worked with Orbit and my show in the past, thank you so much for your time and for your dedication. If you haven't had it...
Starting point is 00:12:50 Hey, everybody, this is Bobby Bones here. How's it going? I just want to take a moment and say hello and welcome to Orbit Media. If you've worked with Orbit and my show on the past, thank you so much for your time and your dedication. If you haven't yet had a chance to be a part of the Bobby Bone Show, I would really love to welcome you into our family. You know, every day we connect with our listeners all over Canada and beyond, and we will be honored to have you be a part of the story. That's all of them? Lovely. Mouth still hurts from that surgery, man. Can you see my lips? It still busted? No. It still hurts. My gum's all.
Starting point is 00:13:31 her too. They ain't held up yet. Stupid. Um, okay, Amy's back. How to go? It was good. Yeah, it's good. Yeah. A woman's apparently making serious bank by renting out her husband. For what? For odd jobs. Oh. Laura Young says her man's painting, decorating, tiling, and carpet laying skills have brought in 46 bucks an hour from other women. Wow. $46 an hour? Initially, her husband James was working steadily for 13 hours a day. And he had a real, like a job consistent. 13 hours went in, but his wife's like, hey, we can do this, rent my husband. That's funny. Yeah, it almost sounds like it's a dirty.
Starting point is 00:14:05 Yeah. I'm sure they get inquiries. Is it only two women, like other women? I think anybody, I'd run a husband. Yeah, I'd take one walks on my date to the CMAs. A man pretending to be a student at Stanford University lived in the dorms for about a year. A man. That's cool.
Starting point is 00:14:19 However, no, he's pretending he shouldn't have been living there. Can't do that. William Curry's adventures ended last week when he was finally located. That happened after the Alabama man, was accused of going to the basement of a dorm and stealing a TV. He was removed from the campus several times prior to that. How did he get removed several times prior and still live there? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:37 He graduated high school in 2021, so I guess he's young. That's what I'm saying he's young. And he just... They're saying, man, like he's a 40-year-old. Yeah. That's what I was picturing. And it sounds like he just went and got a room, right? He wasn't just living in an attic.
Starting point is 00:14:49 New York Post. True. Like, he's like hiding in somebody's house. The Starship Children's Hospital has refused a $520,000 donation from a horse racing giant, Mark Chittick. The foundation says it turned down the offer because it doesn't take money linked to gambling. Oh, no. What does he do?
Starting point is 00:15:04 Just own the horse? I think so, yeah. Oh, man. He was trying to donate part of his $10 million winnings from races in Sydney. I respect it. I respect that they are going, we can't take all money. I don't, I say I respect it. I'd probably take it because I don't think horse racing is a bad thing.
Starting point is 00:15:20 I think if it were like a mob boss, it'd be different. Oh, is it animal rights? I would think so more than gambling. But they say it's from gambling. The story says it's from gambling. Oh. Yeah, the foundation says it turned down the offer because it doesn't think money linked to gambling. If you gamble responsibly, that's just entertainment.
Starting point is 00:15:37 That's what we do. Because you're spending money on things that entertain you regardless. You watch, you go to a movie. If I want to spend 15 bucks and bet on a game and I watch the game for three hours, what's the difference in spending 15 bucks and watching a movie for three hours? Correct. Except when I watch, and I'm entertained about the game. What's except for the, I can make, I can have fun and double it up.
Starting point is 00:15:55 Yeah. It's just when you do more than you have. Ray? You know what I mean? Oh, I've understood that now for two years. Yeah, just making sure. Yeah. But it's entertainment.
Starting point is 00:16:05 As long as it's just entertainment, it's the same thing. If you're taking time and you're spending money doing anything and you have the money, great. So, again, the analogy is you go to a movie, spend 20 bucks, stay there for four hours. More than that, Eddie, you take the kid, you take everybody. Oh, yeah. Don't take the kids. I'm not a kind of gambling analogy. Or you spend three hours and you bet 20 bucks.
Starting point is 00:16:25 You still get the same entertainment. And you're watching the game and there's a chance you get. double that money up. Dude, I do $40 a month, and, like, my whole goal is to just make that last a month. I've gone four months without recharging where I made my $40 last for four months. That's pretty amazing. That's pretty good. I took some money out in my account last week by the first time.
Starting point is 00:16:44 I was pretty, I don't ever do it. I was just like, I'm just going to bet and go. And I think I started with $100. I forgot at this point. Oh, early on? Yeah, and I never put any money back in. And I got it up to like $8,000. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:17:00 But that's not where I was when I took it out. I think I was like 4,300 because it goes up and down. But I started 100. I got to 43. I took out $1,000. Wow. I'm pretty pumped about that. Man, last Saturday I took a bath.
Starting point is 00:17:11 I went down to like $5. Oh. And I made it back. I'm at $110 today. Nice job. Yeah, World Series, like the college football, NFL, I made it back. It's pretty awesome. Drive Kings.
Starting point is 00:17:23 That's where it's at. Go over to drive kings. I'm about to go check my account because I can't remember how much money. I won you money. I like doubled your money. but tell me how much is in there. Yeah, I know. I can make some this weekend.
Starting point is 00:17:31 Okay. I got some for sure's. Right. For sure. Well, yeah, let's do it. Hey, more smiles and frowns over on 25 whistles. Also, I'm thinking... My winning percentage, we looked it up, 73%.
Starting point is 00:17:41 That's amazing. That's great. It's not what it used to be when I was like 13 in a row. 100%, but 73%. Can I ask you this? Lunchbox always talks about professional gamblers. Yeah. Like the ones that live in Vegas and make a career on bed and on sports.
Starting point is 00:17:52 56% is what you need to be to win. Oh. How many of those guys exist? A lot. Yeah, I mean, There's a decent amount. And is it like a... But they also, now, back in the day, it was different.
Starting point is 00:18:02 You're talking about people who had inside information. It was kind of dirty, scheming. Now, these guys also do things like sell their picks. They have people that subscribe to newsletters. They sell... That's how they make their money as well. Got it. They're not just gambling.
Starting point is 00:18:13 Far, far, far, fewer of people who just gamble for a living. Now it's, can you gamble? Can you win 56% of your games? Which is very hard to do. And can you monetize that in a way other than that? Social media following, you know... Got it. So in the 7%...
Starting point is 00:18:28 and 80s and even 90s, there were probably a decent amount of people who just gambled and bet. They're probably bet in other ways, too. Now it's people do that, but they also have nine different buckets that they fill. What a stressful job? Stressful all the time. Professional gambler. Stressful all the time. Amy, what do you have?
Starting point is 00:18:43 $196. Wow. And how much did you give me to start? I don't remember. 50 bucks. Yeah, 50. Oh, cool. So what are we going to do?
Starting point is 00:18:51 I'm going to college football? Cool. What are we going to do? I am grateful. It's not that I'm not. If you listen to 25 whistles this week, tomorrow, I can give you the picks. And you will have more smiles and frowns. I can give you one right now if you want.
Starting point is 00:19:06 Do you want one right now? Yeah, because I also, do you explain on 25 whistles how to enter it? Because I forget. No, but I could do that. I can show you that. What, Mike? Are they easy when they load it up there for them? Yeah, it's easy.
Starting point is 00:19:18 Oh, they put, like at the parlay, they put it up on the main page. They put it up, all you have to do is tap it is go to it. Okay, let's go. But it'll happen on Saturday morning. Tell me, what you got? Appalachian. No, I don't have Apples. Duke.
Starting point is 00:19:28 No. Massachusetts, Yukon. Don't read every game. Here's what you can do. I can give you one right now. Texas A&M. This week, I do have Texas A&M minus three over Florida. If you want to bet that.
Starting point is 00:19:47 Okay. So I click. Okay, we can do that out there. All right, we're going to go. Amy, I got one for you two out off here. Oh, no, no, no. Oh, it's a good one. Maybe stay away from it.
Starting point is 00:19:55 No, it's a good one. lose, but anytime Eddie, he's like, oh, I had that one, too, I know it's going to lose. I just told you, I made like $100. Yeah, but anytime ever, Eddie, you've ever said on anything we've ever done, personal life, you're like, oh, I got that one too. I'm like, God, and we lose most of the time. I know. You've stopped texting me.
Starting point is 00:20:07 You know that's true. Okay. That's it. We're done. We'll see you tomorrow. Bye, everybody. Air Tasker helps you scratch more off your to-do list. Why put off until tomorrow what you can do today?
