Welcome to Tuesday's show. Morning studio. Morning.
Starting point is 00:02:45 You know, we spent a lot of yesterday's show, at least toward the end of it, talking about banking. There was a kid. He's 18. He gets $30,000 put into his account by accident, and what does he do? He goes and spends it all super quick. Buy his car, $5,000 on an ATM car, just starts spending, spend it, spending, spending. And he gets in trouble because there's an agreement you make with the bank that if a bunch of money lands in your account, you've got to say something. And everybody knew he knew.
Starting point is 00:03:08 Right? Everybody knew he knew. So he got in trouble. Lunchbox was very offended for the kid. He felt like he was unjustly penalized. Yeah, the bank has no responsibility in this. It's all on the person that gets the money. I mean, it's ridiculous. Then we kind of explained to lunchbox how banking works and how a bank works.
Starting point is 00:03:23 Like the money you put in, they get to go do with it whatever they please. Now, they're still going to have your money when you go, hopefully. And they're going to give you interest, but they're also investing that money. But what if they make bad investments? What if they do? Well, I'm glad you asked because we have Patty on the phone. Patty in Massachusetts is on the phone. Hey, Patty, welcome to the show.
Starting point is 00:03:41 You work at a bank, right? I do. I do work in the bank. Good morning. What's your position at the bank? I work in the accounting department. I'm the controller. Okay, so lunchbox, do you have any questions about bed?
Starting point is 00:03:53 This is the last segment we're going to do on this, but I feel like you have a lot of questions about the bank. Well, so, Patty, I mean, first of all, when you deposit some money in someone else's account, don't you think you guys should be responsible for that and you should just be like, hey, that's our bad. We'll make it up somewhere else? It definitely depends on the amount. But no, if we make a mistake, we have to fix it. And if someone keeps making a mistake, then they're addressed as an employee. But no, it's not your money. Okay, so let's say you go belly up.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Like, I mean, you guys take my money and you lose it. How do I get my money back? So hopefully you're at a bank that's FDA-insured. What does that mean? And if your bank goes belly up federal deposit insurance company, they guarantee your deposits up to $250,000. So anything you deposit up to $250,000 is covered, it's insured. So if I have over in $250,000.
Starting point is 00:04:38 $250,000 in the bank, I should take it out. Unless your bank has access deposit insurance. Like in Massachusetts, we have an additional fund that will insure more than $250,000. So your bank is... No, no, I don't have that much.
Starting point is 00:04:52 I'm just trying to sound cool. Why, you ask that question? What else would you like to do? I mean, I don't know what else to ask. I don't know anything about a bank. So, I mean, I'm so confused. I started my checking account when I was in fifth grade. Lunchbox... At Reed Elementary, and that's all I know.
Starting point is 00:05:04 Inside the vault is every dollar that everybody's brought to the bank. Right, because what if everybody must come get their money. What do you do? Typically, they don't want you to take large amounts of cash out. They'd rather give you a bank check. Well, yeah, I know they don't want to, but hey, their choice. It's my money. Like, don't give me a check in the cash, fool? Like, I mean, like, I don't know how to spend it. Patty, I don't know how to sponsor them. Like, that's your way of Stalin. I give you, oh, I'll give you a check. That means you don't have my money.
Starting point is 00:05:30 I mean, if you want to take your money out, you can. It's not safe to take all your cash out in cash. You'd be safer with a check, but they're not going to not let you take your cash, it's your money. So all the money that you deposit, I told Lunchbox the bank then takes and does, you know, some investing of its own. That's how it makes money. So can you explain that to him? So hopefully whatever account, your money is in Lunchbox, you're earning interest.
Starting point is 00:05:52 So that's the bank's way of paying you for using your money. And then the bank uses that money to either make loans like Bobby said or invest in investments. Like what do you mean? Like someone comes and pitches a business like Shark Tank and you guys invest in it? No. No, like bonds and securities. I don't know what that is. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:12 Well, Patty, I appreciate you calling. I think I got a savings bond for selling chocolate one time when I was a kid, but... You won it? Yeah, $50 savings bond. And where is it now? I don't know. I just remember winning. And so you have...
Starting point is 00:06:23 That thing could be worth a million bucks now. You got to find that. Yeah. Yeah. If you haven't touched it since then... I mean, it's 50 bucks, man. I don't even know what I mean... It starts as 50, but it doubles every day after a year.
Starting point is 00:06:35 Stop it. Yes. after if you don't spend it. Oh man, I got to call my parents today. See what they did with that crap. Because I remember it. I mean, about coming to the Little League, man. You got a $50 savings bond for winning and chocolate selling.
Starting point is 00:06:47 Holy crap. Doubles every single day after a year if you don't spend it. If I was. Do the math. That's probably 11. I spent 30 years, man. I don't even know how to do the math. Patty, can you do that math?
Starting point is 00:07:01 You work in accounting. I could. But that's a lot of money lunchbox. You should go check on that. See? And she's in banking. You're out of here. Yep. All right.
Starting point is 00:07:10 Patty. I don't even know what a saves bond is. Is it like a piece of paper? Like I have no idea. Like when I was 11, I won and I just... It's that old. It's a piece of paper. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:20 There's no way. My parents kept that. All right. Hey, Patty. Thank you for your help. We appreciate it. Oh, my gosh. All right.
Starting point is 00:07:25 All right. We're done with banking talk. Yes. I've never done as much banking talk in my whole life. Do you guys? Do you guys feel a little more angry now? No. I knew the system.
Starting point is 00:07:33 That's why I got involved in the system. Oh, so you support the bank using your money? Yes. No, you should use your money. Go protest. Okay, look, we're here. Let's get started. It is time to open up the mailbag.
Starting point is 00:07:46 You send an email and we read it all the air. It's something we call Bobby's mailbag. All right, it's the parent and iPhone situation, Amy. We've talked about it many times, and that's what this email is about. Hello, Bobby Bones. My daughter is turning 13 soon. For her birthday, we agreed to get her an iPhone. phone. The one stipulation is that we install this app on her phone that allows me and her
Starting point is 00:08:09 father to monitor or even record everything she does on her phone. Love it. It can record phone calls, text messages, and the media they receive her share. I have no reason not to trust my daughter, but I'm trying to protect her. She hates the idea of having her activity monitored. Does putting this app on her phone make me a helicopter parent? Any advice? Signed, mom of soon to be teen. Amy, you go. Man, it's a wild crazy place out there on the phone and in the internet and all that stuff. I get it. I feel you as a mom. Without knowing exactly what the app is and what, you know, I don't know that you're a helicopter
Starting point is 00:08:44 mom, but listen, her safety is your priority. And like I said, it's scary out there. We monitor our daughter's phone. We don't have an app that shows us every move, but we can lock it at any given moment, certain hours. There's restriction. We restrict what places she can go to if she wants to download anything. I have the right to at any moment say, hey, let me see your phone.
Starting point is 00:09:06 I just want to scroll through and see who you've been texting, what you've been saying, and I have done that. So in a way, I'm sort of doing the same thing, and my daughter is cool with it because she gets an iPhone. My daughter was like, I'll do anything. I just want to finally get a real phone. I think you brought up a good point, too. I think it's easier if you do it when you give the phone. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:27 Like if you take some privacy, but you give the phone. or if you gives me a phone for a while, then you go, now I feel like monitoring it. That's probably a different. And you're not going to be wrong, but I'm saying that's probably a different discussion and different feeling from the kid.
Starting point is 00:09:40 It's like you gave them something and now you're taking something back. But I like that. You're giving her a phone. I have no problem with this at 13. Are you kidding? If you're even, and you're like, I don't want to get my kid a phone at 13,
Starting point is 00:09:50 even then I'm going to go like, okay, cool. You're the parent. Nah, at 16, 15, we start to have an issue of your kid probably needs to get a hold of you. But at 13, Heck, I have no problem with you putting a nap.
Starting point is 00:10:03 I guess the only thing, the only question I would ask is, and I know the answer here, is does she know it? Like I would want. Yeah. You don't want to hide it from her. Right. Be as transparent as possible. And you know what? If you're a parent too and you're like, well, shoot, I already gave my child with her phone and I didn't have this type of conversation.
Starting point is 00:10:21 It is difficult to go back, but that can be done. Like there's things I've learned as a parent and I've had to go back and switch things up. But I just sat down and I was honest and be like, hey, I'm not. not perfect. I mess up as a parent, but you're my number one priority, and I care about you deeply, and I'm doing this for you. And you can even sit down and come up with a little contract together. And if they don't abide by it, then their phone gets taken away. I want to put this app on Eddie's phone. I'd see what he's doing. Hey, that was what I would like to do. Does she say the name of the app? No. It sounds like a fantastic idea. I like to sneak that on a few of you guys
Starting point is 00:10:50 and look at your activity during the show. I don't know. I think that would be good. And I'm not telling you. If you wanted to do that, you would have done that at the beginning. It's too late now. parent, mom, mom of soon to be teen, the fact that you care so much, that's awesome. The fact that you say, okay, I'm going to give you a phone, here you go, I know you want one, that's great. And the fact that you're saying, I'm going to make sure that you're not doing anything crazy is A plus. Do it. It's a conversation again at like 15 or 16.
Starting point is 00:11:17 But it's just a conversation again. Yeah, you can evolve and, you know, even dangle that in front of them. They get in trouble a lot at 14? You ain't getting on a 15. Right. So can they prove their maturity? and that they're responsible enough. Oh, yeah, I've had my daughter earn things,
Starting point is 00:11:30 and she's also had things completely taken away. That's what I want to put on Eddie's phone. I want to put her on Eddie's phone. I want to make sure he's responsible enough during the show. Okay, that's the deal. That's the mailbag. Thank you for emailing us. Close it up.
Starting point is 00:11:41 We've got your email and we've read it on the air. Now it's about to close Bobby's mailback. Yeah. Let's check in with everybody about their personal lives in a segment we call What's the Haps? Hey, what's the Hats? Go over and talk to lunchbox. first. Lunchbox. Well, guys, you know I got that
Starting point is 00:12:00 role and bat out of hell and I was like, yeah, I'm in, I'm in. The play in Vegas. Yes, I'm going to be live on stage, Las Vegas, Paris Hotel Casino. Well, I'm thinking I'm not going to take it. Because I didn't even think about this. You're backing out now. Well, I never negotiated a salary. I never talked about like my suite,
Starting point is 00:12:17 my travel accommodations, like what kind of amenities I'm going to get. I didn't do any of that. What do you want? Man, I would... Money-wise. Per show. Oh, I... I mean, per show, like if friends got a million dollars per episode, I was thinking probably five to 10,000 per episode.
Starting point is 00:12:35 But that's an episode that is being seen nationally for friends. But you want five grand an episode. Yes. A production. Production. Per production. I'll be five. Okay.
Starting point is 00:12:47 Yeah. And then travel. Travel. I like a private jet. Just like Garth. Huh. Like I'm there. And if I need to come home, boom, on the private jet.
Starting point is 00:12:57 And I'm like a sweet like Adele I get to like a $55,000 a night suite that she got for her residency So I'd like something like that with a butler All that Hey scuba could you let them know His demands? Yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:13:10 We'll get right on it Yeah my agent You don't have an agent You don't have an agent Just let them Will you just ask them Yeah Because we can at least let him know
Starting point is 00:13:21 He's clueless here as to his amenities And his travel Yeah And his pay Yeah we can feel that great area for you We will absolutely get this information for you, okay? Okay, because until then, I don't know if I can do it. So are you saying now, because we'll let them know that unless they give you great pay, travel, and amenities, you're out.
Starting point is 00:13:38 Oh my gosh. You're saying that right now. Yeah, I had to, I mean, my agent called me. He was like, dude, I'm excited for you, but you didn't even negotiate, like, contract-wise. You just had diarrhea of the mouths and were like, yeah, yeah, I'll take it. You didn't have any bargaining power. I was like, dang it. But you don't have any bargaining power.
Starting point is 00:13:53 Well, now I do. I'm back in. What? I'll find out. Thank you. Let me know. All right. What's the haves? Hey! What's the hats?
Starting point is 00:14:01 Amy, what's going on? Well, just a little PSA to not be tempted by those massage chairs. They have them at the jump places where your kids can just jump around and parents can sit in a massage chair, but you pay for it. Well, I paid $5 for 15 minutes. And about minute three, I for sure was in pain. Like, it was not right. Something was just off. But I still had a lot of time left.
Starting point is 00:14:27 And I had spent money on it. So I made myself sit there for the whole 15 minutes. So you went through the whole torture chamber of 12 more minutes? Right. And I'm in more pain afterwards than I was before. And I'm probably going to have to spend money on my chiropractor to fix me. So this whole situation costs way more than it should have. But that's on you.
Starting point is 00:14:44 Yeah, it is. But I'm letting other people know. Don't fall for it. Just don't. It's tempting, but do something else. Those shares are never good. They're never good. Never.
Starting point is 00:14:53 But I get not wasting money. I mean, you put $15 in there. So you're just going to say it. Absolutely. You're going to take it. It's going to get worse. Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:15:01 Hey. Hey. What's the hat? Eddie, what's going on? Man, I took my three-year-old fishing this weekend, and it was amazing. They were biting, and my three-year-old caught his first fish. We went, we bought some worms at Walmart. By himself?
Starting point is 00:15:16 Oh, by himself. And he's got a little rod, and I cast it out for him. I got to throw it out in the river, and he gets to reel it in. I mean, as soon as you reeled it in, they were biting. And he pulled out this big bluegill. And he's like, well, it wasn't huge. This was maybe the size of my hand. His perch, but okay.
Starting point is 00:15:30 A little, yeah, the size of my hand. And he's just like, oh my gosh, I caught a fish. And I guess to me, I'm like, this is, I don't know, he's three. He may not remember it. But it's his first fish. He's, no pun intended, hooked. Like, this guy's going to want to go fishing every single weekend now. Isn't it cool that we have phones and we can record stuff?
Starting point is 00:15:49 When we were kids, that didn't happen. Oh, no. We don't have these memories? No. Did you pull your phone out and get a picture or video or anything? I did, but I was video. doing everything. So, like, every single time I cast that, I have, like, 20 videos I need to delete. Great. Unless, when we were kids, somebody had to be rich enough to buy one of those
Starting point is 00:16:04 cameras and put on their shoulders. Yeah. Now you just pull out your phone, you got every memory. Amazing. Yeah, that's cool. All right, one more. Hey! What's the hat? I saw this announcement. Hooty and the Blowfish announced 2023 Hootie Fest. It's the greatest concert I've ever seen in my whole life. You ready to hear a hooty fest? Yes. I'm actually considering going January 25th to 28 in Mexico. Whoa. Can you go to Mexico City?
Starting point is 00:16:29 Where? No. Oh boy. Riviera, Cancun, Mexico. Go. I would love to go, so I'm actually looking into it. But let me read you the lineup here. First of all, hooty and the blowfish.
Starting point is 00:16:40 The Jen blossoms. Oh, my God. Tomorrow we get tried around this town. And let the cops chase us around. Collective soul. Wow. Yeah. Heaven let your light shine down.
Starting point is 00:16:54 Ever clear? What? And Edwin McCain. And tell me if you were born in the 80s that this isn't the greatest concert ever. So, Eddie? You have to go. This should be Brofest. Hey, hey, we know Darius.
Starting point is 00:17:16 Like, can we get... Ride with them? I mean, can we hit your ride? Because that's going to be hard to get to Mexico. Yeah, that'd be pretty. My airplanes go right now. Man, that'll be awesome, right? Yes.
Starting point is 00:17:26 That's the kind of concert that really, excites me because we're jaded we're in the music industry so we see all the stuff hey free tickets it's cool but like this a concert morgan's probably never heard of any of them except just the name hooty and the blowfish right i heard hooty and the blowfish and edwin mccane because he was on country radio and he was in the studio oh yeah that too he really wasn't on country radio he was just in the studio so i guess so i saw that and think i may try to go in january that'd be pretty cool all right that's what's the haps hey what's the haps bobby bonsham the latest from nashville Will and Hollywood. Morgan number two's 30 Second Skinny.
Starting point is 00:18:03 Mitchell Timpennie announced a headlining This is the Heavy Tour kicking off in Utah on January 26th. Special guest Tyler Braden will join him and tickets go on sale this week. Hardy announced his next single, a collaboration with Lightning Wilson. The song is called Wait in the Truck. He posted a teaser on his social media at Hardy. Dina Carter and Phil Vassar are teaming up for a holiday tour called Coming Home for, Christmas. It will kick off November 25th in Kentucky. The show will feature Christmas classics and original holiday music. I'm Morgan. That's your skinny. It's time for the good news.
Starting point is 00:18:40 With producer Eddie. Tell me something good. Two-year-old Everett is from Monroe, Wisconsin, but they were on a camping trip in Green Bay, Wisconsin. And he was told over and over not to bring his stuffed sloth. His name was Sammy the sloth. And the parents were like, don't bring him, please, we're going camping. Well, Everett snuck the sloth, took him the camping trip. and on the way back they realized, oh my gosh, Everett, you forgot your favorite teddy bear, Sammy the Sloth. So the mom gets on Facebook. It got shared 3,000 times. And finally someone from Green Bay said, I think I found Sammy the Sloth.
Starting point is 00:19:15 He was located in a parking lot, in an amusement park in Green Bay. And the employee that found it said, don't worry, I will drive it back to Monroe because I'm going there this weekend. And now Everett is reunited with Sammy the Sloth. I mean, it's all over the news. I looked it up. I mean, it's a bizarre. Our story. Social media users help reunite little boy with Lost Plushy.
Starting point is 00:19:34 And I mean, how old say it was? Two. Yeah, he's a, he's real. But here's the deal. He loved that sloth and it made him sad. He didn't have it. But Everett was told over and over, do not bring the sloth. I tell you stuff all the time and you still do it, too.
Starting point is 00:19:44 You're right. You're right. So I guess I guess it happens. You know? My boss would tell me stuff all the time, and I do it too. So, all right, good story. Shout out to that person who found it and drove it back down. That is what it's all about.
Starting point is 00:19:57 That was tell me something good. It's time. I got the wheel. We're gonna do some more blind karaoke. Let's go. I believe Eddie won last time? No, no chance. I did not win last time. That would be Abby. Abby's defending champion?
Starting point is 00:20:10 Yeah, dude. Remember I got like vanilla ice and I didn't know any of the lyrics? Lunchbox and I tied. Abby are aspiring singer one, right? I believe so. Yeah, well, she's a singer. Wow, we're gonna do blind karaoke. This time, we're doing 2000s country songs. Oh.
Starting point is 00:20:24 I'll spin the wheel. It lands on it. You have to sing it. There are no words in front of you. Karaoke, you get words. There are no words. And if you don't know it, you just got to make it up. Blind karaoke, things like Travis Tritt,
Starting point is 00:20:34 great to be alive. Rascal Flats, life's a highway. Josh Turner, your man. Kid Rock all summer long. Oh, that's a good one. And there's got a lot of them up here. 2000s country blind karaoke. That's next.
Starting point is 00:20:47 What are you guys complaining about? This is tough. I'm not sure I know any of them. I don't know. You don't know Big and Rich. Save a horse riding a cowboy? Not really. Save a horse riding a cowboy.
Starting point is 00:20:55 Well, part of it's not knowing the words. It's knowing the melody and just singing words to it. You know that. We're playing blind karaoke, and you can't see any words. There are no words on the screen anywhere, but you have to sing along with the track. Whoever does the best wins. What are you going to say, lunchbox? Nothing to lose.
Starting point is 00:21:11 Yeah, I never heard of that. I got nothing to lose. Is that Matt Carney? No, nothing to lose. Come on. That is Josh Graykin. Break her one. No, she's a big old flirt.
Starting point is 00:21:23 I like that one. I like that one. Okay, here we go. We roll the dice. Abby, you go first. You're defending. champion. We're going to spin the wheel whatever it lands on. You have to sing. Yes. Are you ready, champ?
Starting point is 00:21:34 I think I am. Here we go. Let's spin that wheel! Give her nothing to lose. Nothing to lose. I'm thinking the same thing. You spoke my mind. Abby, you get redneck woman. Oh, okay. Okay. Can we play a little bit of the real song for our audience, please? Ready. Go. Well, I ain't never. Okay
Starting point is 00:22:11 In the Barbie doll type No, I can't swig that cheap champagne I'd rather drink beer all night In a tavern or in a honky tongue Or on a four-wheel drive tailgate I'd have posters on my wall of Skinner Kid and Straight Some people look down on me
Starting point is 00:22:32 But I don't give a rip I stand bare foot with a baby on my hip Because I'm a redneck woman, I ain't oh high-class broad. I'm just a product of my raise, and I say, hey, all, and yeh. And I keep my Christmas lights on, on my front porch all year long. And I know all the words to every Charlie Daniels song. So here's to all my sisters out there keeping it country. Let me get a big hell, yeah, from the redneck.
Starting point is 00:23:10 Girls love me. Hell yeah. All right. There's you, Debbie. Nice job. I tried to do less dancing. How did you know all this? I mean?
Starting point is 00:23:18 Can I say something? Can I give you a note? Yes. I saw growth there. Not just for the game. I saw you forget words and you started to lower your head and go like, I suck and you went, I got to keep going. Okay, good.
Starting point is 00:23:29 I noticed you check yourself and go. Don't do that. Just keep going. And you did. Keep going. Your career, you want to sing, you did wonderfully, not even in this game. in that. And that's what you have to do out there. Just keep going. Okay, judges, Mike D, Scoo and Steve himself.
Starting point is 00:23:45 Write your score down one through ten for Abby. We'll check back in with you guys in a second. She was good. Redneck woman. Got her score. Guys, I don't think we can compete with that. Okay. You can take that.
Starting point is 00:23:56 You want to be a loser. Lunch you have no chance. Next step. Never know what I'm going to get. Yeah, you've been pretty consistent with your scores. I'm being honest. Yeah. Next up is producer Eddie.
Starting point is 00:24:07 Come on. Let's go. We've only played this game twice in the last year, and Eddie won one. And Abby won one. I know. Eddie, what's your emotion right now? What are you feeling?
Starting point is 00:24:19 You know, 2000's country, not really my strength here. I'm looking at a couple of songs on the board. I like Chicken Fried by Zach Brown. If I can get that, dude, I will dominate. Oh, okay. Other than that, good luck. I remember last time Eddie said, if I give it all eyes, I'm going to dominate.
Starting point is 00:24:31 They need to know a single word. Trust me. Trust me. Okay, here we go. Here's Eddie. We're going to spin the wheel. Yeah. And let's see what he gets.
Starting point is 00:24:38 Let's spin. Nothing to lose. Nothing to lose. Nothing to lose. Big old flirt. Here we go. Here we go. Who, who, who, look. Oh, there it is, Eddie. Eddie, you got chicken fry. You know that I'm a chicken fry.
Starting point is 00:24:55 Let's go. Okay, you don't understand. Like, whenever he says it, it lands on it. But did you know, there was anything suspicious? But I manifest things like, give me the lottery numbers and it doesn't happen. And it's amazing. There are only five songs. Yeah, it's like Eddie's got a one.
Starting point is 00:25:11 I mean, it's only 10%. There's like 10 left. That's what I'm saying, but every time he does it, he hits it every time. It's so stupid. You know that I'm a chicken friar. Okay. Are you ready? Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:20 Can we wait for our audience? Can they please hear the song? And a little bit of chicken. Cold beer on Friday night. In three, two, one. Oh, this is for Georgia out there. The land of the pines. Is that all right?
Starting point is 00:25:38 You know that I'm a chicken fry. Cold beer on a Friday night, a pair of jeans that fit just right, and the radio up. I like to see the sunrush. Oh, damn. Hello, all my lover's eyes, a pair of jeans that fit just right. And the radio, here we go. I knew I grew up along the Georgia Pines. That's home, you know, neon signs and girls in homemade wines.
Starting point is 00:26:13 Where the peaches grow There ain't not much to talk about all night That's what I call home And then you know it's grown on southern ground Yeah With a little bit of chicken fried Whoa cold beer on a Friday night A pair of jeans that fit just right
Starting point is 00:26:33 And the radio I like to see the sunrise See the love in my woman's eyes Wow Delapure of a precious child And a mother's love There he is, producer, Eddie, okay I'm a chicken fry
Starting point is 00:26:53 Eddie, well first of all, it's not, you're not a chicken fry I'm not, no I'm chicken fry. Hold on, what were you saying? You know that I'm a chicken friar. You're out of your mind, are you kidding? That's how it starts. No. Yes, because the song's called chicken fried, right?
Starting point is 00:27:05 If that's the words, I've sang it wrong in my whole life. Before I make fun of him, I've been wrong in so many words. Ray, would you pull up the Zach Brown version? I thought it started off You know I like my chicken fry You know I'm a chicken fry So it's Zach right He's the dude
Starting point is 00:27:19 You know I'm a chicken friar If that's right I'm gonna be shocked And I will take Any punishment you give me For judging you Huh Okay can we hear it please
Starting point is 00:27:29 You know I'm a chicken fry He's not a chicken fry Bro That's what did you not hear him He said you know that I'm a chicken friar He's not working to Charlie's chicken He's not frying up the chicken When you drive through
Starting point is 00:27:39 What did he say I like my chicken fry You know I like my chicken fried. You know I like my chicken fried. Wow. I thought you just messed up. No, no, no. I thought that's what it said the whole time.
Starting point is 00:27:48 You know I'm a chicken fryer? Wow, you're telling me I've been singing this wrong the whole time. Yes. That's funny. You know that I'm a chicken fried. And not on purpose. Huh. Okay, so you did pretty good.
Starting point is 00:27:57 What did you feel about the performance? Well, I missed words. I mean, once that verse started, I was kind of like, I didn't know where it's going on. You went into that way up. Early? Oh, boy. Oh, are you talking crapping. It's always risky to be in the competition.
Starting point is 00:28:10 I will. I will say energy very low. That's an upbeat song. You're like, oh, you're trying to go run. Have you ever seen Zach singing? He just stands there. I will say that he's not chicken fire.
Starting point is 00:28:22 And the lyrics are wrong. You didn't mess up lyrics. Everybody's going to mess up lyrics. I don't judge as much on that. You committed, you stayed on. It's pretty good. It wasn't as good as you said. So that kind of makes me go,
Starting point is 00:28:31 well, he didn't live up to expectations. But it was still pretty good. Yeah, I was expecting to get blown in the way. But Amy is really killing herself for her performance by all this. Okay. We will come back. Hey, we playing a song or are we going to break?
Starting point is 00:28:43 Break. Okay, I was going to play chicken fry right now, but we'll wait. The chicken fire! Yes. We'll come back with Amy and then the lunchbox and blind karaoke next. Starting point is 00:32:27 Redneck woman. Gretchen Wilson, good job. Eddie, you did? Chicken fried. Chicken fried by Zach Brown. That's right. That's right. You learn today it's not chicken fryer.
Starting point is 00:32:34 No, apparently it says, you know I like my chicken fried. Yeah, and you started off the first words you thought were... You know that I'm a chicken fryer. And you thought that. My whole life. Okay. And I'm shocked. I'm shocked that you thought that, but I've also thought dumbed.
Starting point is 00:32:48 And I'm glad that you guys told me after I was done singing because then that would have thrown my whole brain off and messed up the entire song. 2000s country, we have them all on a wheel. Whatever it lands on, you sing, there are no words in front of you. That's why it's blind karaoke. So if you don't get it right, you just got to make it up. Amy, are you ready? Ready. Do you have a preference?
Starting point is 00:33:04 Nope. Of all these, no preference. You don't have preference for life as a highway. It's a great day to be alive. Yeah, that song used to make a... That's a good one. I used to cry in the shower to that one. You can sit on the ground if you needed to.
Starting point is 00:33:16 You can sit on the ground. You can sit down and pour water on you. Good direction. All right, here we go. Amy was talking crap. Amy manifested. Go ahead with you. Our song.
Starting point is 00:33:30 Our song. You're welcome. You're welcome. Yeah, don't miss and don't mess. This one. That's right. Taylor's a tough one. You critique Daddy so hard and that's the song you wanted.
Starting point is 00:33:41 Our song is your girl. Come on, Taylor. Your girl. And I wouldn't care, but you critique Daddy so hard. He said I'm a chicken friar. I know. Let's see what you say about our song. Okay.
Starting point is 00:33:50 Okay. Ray, can we hear the original, please? And he says, Our song is the slamming screen door. Snaking Alec tapping on you. Can we hear the instrumental, please? Can you hear that pretty good, Amy? Amy.
Starting point is 00:34:05 Yeah, I can hear me. Hello? She just ignored you. She walked on. She went into a zone like she was like not here. Okay, he's like nervous. Go. Ray, are you ready to start it from scratch?
Starting point is 00:34:16 Here we go. Three, two, go. Let's go. Taylor Swift, 2000s. Okay. Here we go. I was riding shotgun with my hair undone in the front seat of his car.
Starting point is 00:34:34 He had one hand here, the other on the steering wheel, the other on my. Turn down, turn the radio up and then down there's something on She said, hey baby, are you good looking? Yeah, listen, that's our song And he said, Our song is a slant screen door sneaking out late tapping on your window When we're on the phone and you talk real slow Because it's late and your mama don't know
Starting point is 00:35:03 Our song is a scanning door Swing but bed like a gnom, man, and where I come home For I said amen Asking God if he would play it again Wow, pretty good That was good Okay lunchbox, what would you like to say about that? Oh man, I'll tell you what?
Starting point is 00:35:27 I thought she was going to do terrible, but she did better than I thought. It's between... It's a two-person race right now. I thought you would do better than that. I thought you would know the one. words. You send that song 10,000 times and then you asked for it specifically. Wait, did she not know the... She got most of the words. See me. It sounded like
Starting point is 00:35:41 she knew the words. I don't know the song then. And then the final part of the whole chorus was no, ma-a-ma-nam-nam-nam-nam-mm-mm-mm-mm. No, that was a remit. Oh, I didn't know that. You didn't know that. I got off a little bit. Yeah, it's okay. Okay. You forgot to say, remix.
Starting point is 00:35:53 I, I said when you talk real slow and duh, it's talk real low because your mama don't know. Oh. And then I was thinking about how I messed that up in my head and then it derailed me. The judges have scored. All right. You have one more performance.
Starting point is 00:36:06 Good job, Amy. That's good as good as you thought. Lunchbox, what song would you like if we were to spin it? Let's be honest. Don't know any of them. In none of them. Do you know Life's the highway? Life is a highway.
Starting point is 00:36:20 Do it my way. I know that. Nope. Okay, we're just going to spin it. All right, here we go. I know you go left to the interstate. Right brings you right back to me. Billy Currington, good direction.
Starting point is 00:36:31 That's the only words I know, though. Let's spin the highway. What's it going to be? Headlining the show is Lunchbox and he'll be singing, Life is a Highway by Rascal Flats. Here is that song, Lunchbox. Can you hear it?
Starting point is 00:36:46 Hold on. Can you hear? Yeah, it was just really loud. I don't know how you guys listen that loud. Okay, here we go. I want it my way. I want it my way all night long. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy.
Starting point is 00:36:57 I don't know how to get to that part, but we're going to go. Ray, can you play the instrumental for a second? Okay. Do you need, do you want me to cue, okay. What is he doing? Give me to cue you in when it's your turn to go. Yeah, tell me when I say life is the highway. No, I'm not telling you that there is a first before that.
Starting point is 00:37:14 Oh, there is a okay. Do you want to go here? Do you want to just go? Here we go. Boom, boom. Come on, lunch. And go. I live my way.
Starting point is 00:37:23 That's too early. It's coming. Take a break. Keep it going. Yeah, when I go. Hold on. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Oh, we're starting to get.
Starting point is 00:37:29 Here we go. And now. When I. go my way it's on the highway highway 35 living downtown because it's my way or the highway it's a nice view when you're on the highway you take a road trip back to mama's and you say oh god bless the broken road because life is a highway oh no is it's a highway we're going to Go my way. In one day, we're all going to die.
Starting point is 00:38:05 What? Oh, no, no. Oh, yeah. But hopefully it's not on the highway. Hopefully it's in your bed. Surround by loved ones. He's not the wreck on the highway. My way.
Starting point is 00:38:17 All right, there he is. Wow. Wow. We're all going to die. I'm sad. I feel sadder. That's how we had a sad song. But hopefully not on the highway.
Starting point is 00:38:27 Yeah, you don't want to die on the highway. No. Okay. Okay. Let's give us. scores here. You want to be surrounded by loved ones on a bed. Like I love the energy. You had more energy.
Starting point is 00:38:37 They can even think to bring as much energy as you know. They don't know how to bring it to you. They can't visualize energy like. They're trying to hit vocal notes and you're trying to actually sing. It's weird, right? What are you trying to do exactly? Me? I was trying to sing, but I just don't know that song, man. I don't think. I know life is highway. Okay. That's it. Can you tell me the first line of that song then?
Starting point is 00:38:54 It goes, The times are gazing. Times are going to be. Yeah. I would have struggle with that one, but I'd have made stuff up. dancing in times are sad. Everybody just don't be mad. Here we go. We're going to dance and shout because everybody knows what's all about. I just had stuff like that. Like hickory dickory dock stuff. Yeah, I mean... You wouldn't say we're all going to
Starting point is 00:39:13 die, but hopefully not on a highway. No, no. But I did like, hopefully we're centered about with our loved ones. I like that one too. That was nice. He's very peaceful. Okay. Wow. Okay. I'm looking at the scores here. Hey, W-O-W. I got a feeling I did not win that one. That was my worst performance. Yeah, that was the worst. Okay. I think Abby's got this.
Starting point is 00:39:34 Amy, you did not win. You got 18 points. Just riled the better. Wow, 18. That's big. That's a big. That means... What are you calculating there, Amy? I'm writing down 18. Why? Are you going to put that in your scrapbook? You didn't win. He said you didn't win. But last time you got 16, you got better.
Starting point is 00:39:49 And that's what I mean. The scores are higher than last year. He's like my hype man. Yeah. One of the judges gave lunchbox a zero. The first ever zero. A zero? How's that pause? Scuba gave me a zero. I'm not saying who gave me a zero, but lunchbox was given a zero by the guy to his right. Mike, you gave me a zero? I got life as a highway, man.
Starting point is 00:40:11 Gee. Lunch box total score of 12. Wow, oh I would have won Mike if you would have given me some points you lose? No, you wouldn't have, no. No, you wouldn't have, no. Okay, that's one point game between... So I got a six and a six. There's a one point difference here? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh my goodness. Eddie or Abby. I'll tell you this, Eddie, Eddie, Eddie. you got a 20. What? I did lose. I got a 20?
Starting point is 00:40:34 I mean, Amy, did you not see my performance? It was so good. I feel like I was very similar. Really? Yes. And Abby, you got a 20. What? One.
Starting point is 00:40:42 One. Oh. Abby is over. Oh. Like we is. Wow. Tuna. You're defending champion.
Starting point is 00:40:50 We'll be back next time. This is from May and Kentucky. I listen to you every day. I have a morning corny for you. What has a hundred years but cannot hear? a cornfield. I think if you ended you're corny with that same laugh, it'd be much
Starting point is 00:41:07 funnier. Almost like Pee-E-Herman, is it? Here's Amy's pile of stories. There's a threat online where people are talking about the things they silently judge other people for, and I have the top things. It's littering of any kind.
Starting point is 00:41:27 Personalized license plates. Oh, you silently judge? Wow, really? Well, I guess that's not silent anymore, is it? No, pretty vocal. Yeah, I guess it depends if it's like, hot guy. You know, Mr. Love. I'm like, okay, dude.
Starting point is 00:41:42 All right, what else? Leaving the bathroom without washing hands. All the time, not even silent. I'll be like, just the lunchbox didn't wash his hands? He does it all the time. And I know he sat in there for 30 minutes. Leaving the shopping car out in the middle of the parking lot without returning it to a thing. Yes.
Starting point is 00:41:57 Yeah, that's a good one. Parents who swear at their kids in public. Oh my gosh. Or in private. Okay. And then being nasty to service workers. Yeah, that's one too. According to a new survey,
Starting point is 00:42:09 students who play music while studying are more likely to have a GPA above 3.2, which is pretty awesome. I wonder if it's because, one, they're just studying. Like, regardless if you're playing music or not, they're just studying. Oh, good call. And so most people that don't have a good GPA probably aren't putting in the work. And then two, I wonder, I could listen to music. but only to a point. I couldn't really listen to songs.
Starting point is 00:42:33 I knew all the words to... Because you're singing along. I'm like, yeah. I'm like really... I'm like, I get knocked down. And now I get it up again. You never gonna let... Oh, crap.
Starting point is 00:42:40 I forgot. I'm doing history here. Then you're dancing. Yeah, I got chumelab and blaring. Yeah. The most popular genres are classical, R&B, and country. Classical makes sense because you're not really listening to any words. Yes.
Starting point is 00:42:50 They say the reasons why is because it's therapeutic. It helps them focus and absorb the information. And then it just makes studying more fun. So to your point, it's like making them actually study. So Willie Nubes. Nelson shared with the New York Times that he had COVID earlier this year and it was very severe. He beat COVID? Yes.
Starting point is 00:43:08 That's the one person I thought if he gets COVID. Yeah, Dunzo. That's it. Yeah, he's 89 years old and it was a struggle for sure. We had known that someone in the Willie Nelson family band got COVID because they had to cancel some shows a few months ago. But it was Willie and they had to convert their ranch into a hospital situation. And he did not think he was going to make it. but he's back.
Starting point is 00:43:32 The Lord has shown favor on us all by keeping Willie Nelson alive. Right. Yes. Wow. Okay. I'm Amy. That's my file. That was Amy's pile of stories.
Starting point is 00:43:40 It's time for the good news. With lunchbox. Tell me something good. When an 86-year-old gets out of bed without breaking a hip, we're like, yeah, man, amazing. Well, this 86-year-old Mark Bray... No. Are we not. I like it when they don't get hurt, but I guess I don't...
Starting point is 00:43:58 It's normal. It's amazing. If they can get out of bed at 86, Stop breaking a hip or a foot or... I agree. It's great that they don't hurt. Go ahead, though. Yeah, but 86-year-old Mark Braley of California, he's still playing water polo.
Starting point is 00:44:09 That water polo, I've never played water polo in any regulated or official sense. But we've gotten the pool and like throwing the ball and stuff. Maybe harder than soccer as far as when it comes to cardio. Yeah. And soccer you're running all over place all the time. And that's like soccer's legit and it's really hard. Yeah, because you can't grab the sides in water polo. You're swimming in the whole time.
Starting point is 00:44:30 And you don't put your feet on the ground and he's 86 years old. He said I'm by far the worst player on our team, but I still love it. I loved all the guys in the locker room. That's what you say after your soccer games now too when you play. You're him. You're him. And I got 45 years to go to get to his age and still be playing. How is soccer going for you?
Starting point is 00:44:49 It's going on. Last week we had a game and some guy said he was talking trash. So I said something to him. I was like, I stole it from him. And I was like, it looks like I didn't get shook there, did I? And he goes, where'd they get this guy? From underneath a bridge? What's your hair?
Starting point is 00:45:04 That's not an age thing. It's your look right now. What a weird joke. I'll be honest. I'll be honest. Amy. Amy, it made me laugh though.
Starting point is 00:45:12 I was like, damn, that's kind of funny. Yeah, it was because you kind of looked like that. It was great. It was like a good little thing. And I was like, oh, that was funny. And then one guy, another guy was saying something. And he goes, you guys suck.
Starting point is 00:45:21 You can't even score. We're playing a man down. I was like, well, you kind of suck because you ain't scoring on us. And he goes, dude, how old are you? Yeah, that was your combat? Yeah, that's tough. Yeah. You do much better in here.
Starting point is 00:45:31 And there's not a threat of being beaten up. I guess. My younger guys. Yeah. No, I mean, we can't score. Well, they couldn't score either. It was tied one to one. We don't need to hear that analysis of the game.
Starting point is 00:45:43 Him talking trash about us not being able to score. It's like, well, you're not scoring either. So what? And I said, they were a man down, though, right? Well, they were a girl. I'm not doing this. No, no. No, no.
Starting point is 00:45:51 No. No. No. Hey, too much man. Too much man. But yeah. Mark Braley, water polo. Good job.
Starting point is 00:45:58 That's awesome. Mark Braley. We would aspire to just not Breaking him Getting out of bed And he's playing water polo All right That's what it's all about
Starting point is 00:46:07 That was tell me something good I want to read this to you guys Because I get a lot of grief in this room Because I'm constantly like It's so hot in here And the air goes down Down down It's like going down to the hockey talk
Starting point is 00:46:22 I go down With the temperature I go down So air conditioning helps you think better This from Harvard Did you just search this just to make the point? A Harvard study showed that students who lived in dorms without AC during hot summer months did worse on tests than those who had central air. So think about how funny this show is because we turn the air down.
Starting point is 00:46:43 What are we on right now? What number? 68. Maybe 67 now. It's colder. Let's go. And every time I go, can we turn it down? The whole show goes, ugh. That showbiz, baby.
Starting point is 00:46:56 The colder we get, the funnier we are. I don't know. Okay. Don't be sad. It's too cold, man. It's not too cold. Let's go over to Amy and get in the morning corny. The morning corny.
Starting point is 00:47:10 What type of shoes to kidnappers wear? What type of shoes to kidnappers wear? White vans. White vans. Because they drive white vans. That's the creepiest corny we've ever had. That was the morning corny. That's bad one.
Starting point is 00:47:25 That's funny, though. Yeah, that's funny. We found the information. information lunchbox on Adele. She's going to be doing her Las Vegas residency. And so it's a $30,000 per night Nobu Villa during her residency,

She's going to make up for the fact that she wasn't able to do it earlier. Remember that whole controversy? Yeah, she had a little fight with the
Starting point is 00:47:52 production crew, right? So if you were to stay in this every night that she is, it will cost $2.7 million. That is what I'm talking. talking about. 10,300 square foot. The Japanese-inspired rooftop mini home. Three bedrooms, a barbecue pit, a Zen garden, a whirlpool.

She will travel to Sin City from her Beverly Hills mansion via private jet with private chauffeurs. All this coming from daily mail. This is how you treat a star. So here's the thing I want to say to our listeners, because we're actually going to do
Starting point is 00:48:27 a whole thing to send people out to see, lunchbox in Las Vegas when he does his show. Oh, cool. Yes, and I'll give you details on that at a second, but we have the first information about some of your accommodations. That's what I'm talking about. Let's go. So the show is called...
Starting point is 00:48:39 Bad out of hell. At Paris. Right. Lunchbox will stay in a standard one-bedroom suite with a kitchenette at the Paris in Las Vegas. Kitchenette, though, that's cool. I don't know what a kitchenette is. You can cook your own stuff.
Starting point is 00:48:51 You ever been to like a courtyard? Courtyard by Marriottes. Yeah, like an extended stay America. Exactly. Those are, yeah. No, but where's my, like, I can order any food from any restaurant? You can make it. You can cook anything that you get from Walgreens.
Starting point is 00:49:03 Anything. Yeah. They're in the stripping of the Walgreens? Yeah, I know. I've been there. Plenty. Lunchbox will stay in a standard one-bedroom suite with a kitchenette. That's pretty good.
Starting point is 00:49:10 Some of them don't have kitchenettes. Okay. I deal all against in a $30,000 per night. And I got a kitchenette. Mm-hmm. She got a barbecue grill. I even get that. You have a standard one-bedroom suite.
Starting point is 00:49:23 Am I going to be overlooking the strip? I'll probably be looking over the parking garage. I'll get some more information. So we're going to send you out to see Lunchbox October 7th through October 9th as he makes his musical debut in Jim Steinman's Bad Out of Hell the Musical. That's right. So all you have to do to enter is go to Bobbybones.com. The rules are up there as well.
Starting point is 00:49:43 Are you ready to hear what you win? Yeah. Round trip to Vegas. That's not bad. I'd take that. Two nights hotel accommodations at Paris, Las Vegas. You'll probably get a kitchenette. Two tickets to the VIP opening night party on.
Starting point is 00:49:57 October 7th, two premium tickets to bat out of hell the musical on October 8th, the opportunity to attend a meet and greet with lunchbox. Wow! There's a meet greet? Oh, man. How much is my cut on that? They don't pay anything so you don't get a cut on it. Oh, all you have to do is go to bobbybones.com and you can sign up and you can win this for all the prizes and rules and everything, bobbybones.com.
Starting point is 00:50:19 Maybe you take them up to your room. No, we're not going to my room. I'm not going to show them where that is. No, no, no, no, no. So we're still trying to find out what the other perks are. You don't even know how much you're being paid. I don't know how much. So I may not even be going.
Starting point is 00:50:29 But that kills our prize then. Oh, gosh, that's true. Yeah, I know. That means I got bargaining power. You got leverage. I got leverage. Let's go. That's how it works right there.
Starting point is 00:50:39 All right, we're finding that out for you. Okay. All right, bobbybones.com. Have you learned your lines or anything? Have they sent you anything? No, no, no. I haven't been practicing. You know, I figure I'll just wing it.
Starting point is 00:50:48 But you haven't asked them for lines. I haven't told you any lines. No. I mean, once we come to a contract settlement, then I think we can start talking about like nailing down my role as Trist. No, you're not the lead. Remember, you're a guy that just like shows up and strat, I think.
Starting point is 00:51:02 Strat. I don't think that's the role. Yeah, I mean, both kids are doing so great, and I'm so proud of my daughter because one of the classes she's enrolled in is a speech class.
Starting point is 00:54:48 and her first speech was last week and she was super nervous. Amy's daughter, by the way, if you're new, was adopted from Haiti and has a very thick accent still. She still does, yeah. And it's still learning English, but she's pretty good. Yeah. Although she texts me like a businessman. She's very formal. Are all of your things going well?
Starting point is 00:55:10 Any objectives you need to help? I'm like, sure, you're like 15. I look forward to that. Yes. I look forward to seeing you soon. So she's in a speech class with other English speaking kids, like normal straight up? Yeah. Awesome.
Starting point is 00:55:21 So she has to get up in front of the class and deliver the speech. Last week, I think the speech was about communication. And then this week, they took it a little deeper and they had to write about who they would have dinner with, dead or alive, the person could be. Opening it up to dead people. I don't know that I like that, though, as the game. It just, Jesus is always the answer, right? Of course. She debated that.
Starting point is 00:55:47 Or Abe Lincoln. Sure. I like just doing it live because it limits your options of, I mean, George Washington. Anyone. Martin Luther King. Yeah. Real cool. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:58 Like if you don't pick them, you're always a bad guy. So what did she say? So all on her own. She brought it to me because she needed help printing it out and she likes to review and go over it. So I pull it up. I print it out and she starts reading it. And she said, if I could have dinner with anybody dead. or alive, it would be my biological parents.
Starting point is 00:56:19 And then she went into, I would ask my mom, you know, and I got her permission to share this, by the way, and she's delivering it in front of her whole class. But she said that we could talk about it here because I was just so proud of who she's turning into, but she said she would like to ask her mom why she dropped her off at the orphanage at five and a half years old. And then she said, also I would like to know if my dad is alive or dead because I don't know. The last time she remembers seeing him, he dropped her off at school and she burned her left leg on his motorcycle and she still has a scar on her leg. And she's like, that's why I remember that day.
Starting point is 00:56:56 But she has no idea where he is, but she remembers her mom. And then that is her speech. I mean, she has some other words in there. And then the last sentence is her understanding the need for this separation, she called it, from them. And that's... she forgives them. That is a lot to just pick up a piece of paper and stumble into. Yeah, and I mean, I'm sure she's delivering it. Well, she is today or, you know, after lunch or something is when she has that class. And she stood before me and my sister and practiced over and over.
Starting point is 00:57:33 And she's already getting so much better from last week. She could barely deliver the speech without fidgeting and moving around and she was so nervous. And then this one being so personal, I was just proud of her and the delivery. and I'm just sending her all the good vibes for today. I can understand why you'd be proud. I can also understand why that would hurt a little bit even though you know it shouldn't hurt. And when you think through it,
Starting point is 00:57:55 you can probably think yourself into it not hurting because, right, she has biological parents. Yes, I know I'm her second mom and that I hope she gets to reunite with her birth mom one day. Unfortunately, Haiti is just not in a position. thought we would have gone back there by now, but it's just in such turmoil. It's not safe for us to go. And she did ask that a couple weeks ago, when do you think we're going to be able to go? And I just was honest with her. And I said, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:58:26 Does that hurt you a little bit? I don't. No, I mean, I just want to make sure. I think it makes me question, am I doing the role that she needs? Like, is she trying to go find her parents because I'm not fulfilling that role for her? But that's just a, I know that's a lie that pops up into my head real quick. And I'm glad that I can. Yes. And I'm glad I can reset and know the truth and that I am, she does see me as mom. And I'm reminded that every time, you know, I call her and she answers the phone,
Starting point is 00:58:58 hello, mother. And that just. Hello, Mother, Newman. That's what I hear. Jerry. Hello, mother. But anytime my kids call me mom, I am reminded, wow, they see me as that. because their first year here, sometimes it was mom, and then sometimes it was Amy.
Starting point is 00:59:16 So there was some growing pains. But here we are. Good for her. I'm proud of her for doing that, for being comfortable enough to do that in front of you. And in front of her class. No, no, no. Oh, yes. In front of me, yes.
Starting point is 00:59:28 Yeah, I get it. For being able to write that and do it in front of you and at the end to say, and I forgive them. Right? It's a complicated thing. It's very complicated. And I imagine as she's 15, 16, as she grows into an adult, there's going to be more curiosity. and more questions, and I just want to be there for her in the process. I would imagine her curiosity and appreciation fluctuates like the stock market as the years go by.
Starting point is 00:59:51 Because I think as she gets older, the appreciation for you will grow, but her curiosity will as well. You know, as I got older and I wasn't adopted in the same way. I was adopted a bit by my grandmother and didn't have a dad and all that story. but my appreciation for the people that stepped in for me on a much lower level rose so much from my friend Evan's dad who took me on vacations for the first time. My high school football coach who was like the guy who instilled discipline in me. And so as I got older, I was like, man, like I really appreciate those men that gave me that influence when they did not have to, which I did when I was young.
Starting point is 01:00:30 And the same thing is going to happen with you. She's going to get older and see the sacrifices that you went through. but she's also going to get older and wonder who she is and where she comes from. And what her human parents look like. You know, what, five years ago is really the first time that I had met my biological father. And that was me being able to sit at a table and see him in human form was wild. Because I never sat and had dinner or had a conversation with a parent, ever. And so that was weird for me.
Starting point is 01:00:59 And that's going to be weird for her. But it's something she's probably going to want to pursue. And I hope she gets to do that one day. And whether I'm a part of it with her or not, that's okay because I don't know what age it will happen. But you'll always be a part of it with her. Yes. Even if you're not there. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:14 You will always be a part of it because you enabled her to have a life where she could actually go back or be curious from a healthy place. Yeah. I hope so. Because another weird lie that pops into my head is because we adopted older kids and she was 10, almost 11 when she first got here. and I mean it's happening quick she's going to graduate and move out I feel like the next four years are going to go so fast and I'm like what if we don't what if she moves out and then it's like oh I have this whole life to pursue and this wasn't really my family family so I'm just going to move on and I can't be like hey are you coming home for Thanksgiving you know let's be honest let's be honest and you can correct me if I'm wrong here let's be honest about something kids in that orphanage I've been there it ain't good if they age out of it just statistics that's why we adopted older. They're not good. I would imagine most kids that come out of the orphanage that are told you're too old to live here now, things don't turn out well for them. Right. I would imagine that's a very significant number that don't turn out well. So regardless of if she is what you just
Starting point is 01:02:19 described, if she's totally that way or not, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. It doesn't affect how you, we, everyone should feel about people that are doing things like you're doing to change kids lives. And so I'm sure there is some resentment there, but you're a kid. You're supposed to resent your parents anyway, much less parents that took you from a place where you don't understand why you were taken out of yet. Which she has expressed that. Because at 10, she told me, nobody asked me if I wanted to come to America. Y'all just took me. And she has a point. She has a, it's so valid. And I was thankful that she could use her voice at such a young age and put that into words because she was clearly feeling it. And it's not,
Starting point is 01:03:03 something you think about when you're in the process of it. You're like, oh my gosh, we're going to bring them here and be a family and give them this life. And her life was in Haiti with all her friends. She was having a good time every day. But yeah, I think ultimately once, yeah, she's older, she'll see it all. She could probably see it now. But I just had that fear of when she moves out, will she want to come back? If she does or if she doesn't? You know, it's still been. And it'll always be her decision. But I have a feeling that she will want to come back, It least to see me because... At least.
Starting point is 01:03:34 At least to see me. She looks forward to it. I look very forward to our next commitment. Yes. Well, that is a complicated story. Yeah. It is. But it's awesome at the same time.
Starting point is 01:03:47 Complicated and awesome. Absolutely. That she's mature enough to even communicate that. And then on the back end to go, you know, and say what she said about it. She forgives them. That's awesome. She's so smart.
Starting point is 01:03:57 I mean, you can just hear the scheme she's up to. She kicked the massage gun to school was charging people to you. That's something I would have done. That's awesome. She's so smart. That's super cool. And we'll hold off on our bit where we're going to go around. Yeah. We're out of time. Yeah, I feel pretty dumb too by picking mine. Why? Who'd you pick? Elvis? Like, that's just done. No, that's awesome. After this whole story, I'm like, come on. This is the story that.
Starting point is 01:04:17 Okay. No, this led to that. And that is great. Elvis is one of your... I mean, come on. The family member. This isn't a sad story. I want everybody to know that. I know. This is a complicated story. You know what's complicated. Love is complicated. Yeah. It just is. And Elvis is cool. I might change it.
Starting point is 01:04:38 I don't know. You can't pick. And you couldn't pick Jesus. Right. I go Elvis. Okay, so we will do that in a little bit. We'll come back to that. We're going to do dead too.
Starting point is 01:04:49 You can do dead or alive. No, I know, but it just opens it up to so many layers of dead. Okay, so say alive. We can change the rules. But you can stay alive and you can change yours now. Like young Elvis? When he was alive? No, no, no, no.
Starting point is 01:05:01 They have to be alive now. Oh, okay. But don't some people think Elvis is alive? That's true. Those people are idiots and they wouldn't be on this show. Okay, so we'll come back and do that. It is time for the news. Bobby's Big.
Starting point is 01:05:15 Stories. Georgia mother's been arrested after police say she pepper sprayed a bus full of elementary school children. Whoa. The bus was picking up students in Brunswick when the mom 30 got on the bus and got into an argument with a bus driver. That's about 7 a.m. Glenn County Schools police said there were 24 students on the bus when she discharged can of pepper spray. All the students were treated at the scene. They were taken to school via another bus. The driver and monitor were taken to the emergency room for further evaluation.
Starting point is 01:05:46 She was charged with three counts of battery, criminal trespassing, first-degree cruelty to children, reckless disruption of operation of a public bus, and reckless conduct from WSBTV. So it seems like she's mad at the bus driver. She popped him and then everybody got it. Because as you know, if you spray that, anybody, that's what happens. Anybody nearby. Yeah. But I wonder what happened. I know.
Starting point is 01:06:08 I wonder what the bus driver did. Because to be that angry at 7 a.m. is one thing. Two, to have pepper spray and go up to someone when you're angry. But three, to use it. Yeah. That's straight up three stooges type stuff, man. Right in the eyes. Next up from new scientist.
Starting point is 01:06:26 Having kids makes you happier. Would you guys agree with that? No. Oh, yeah, well, true, but only when they move out, it says. Yeah, exactly. I was waiting for that. When it comes to who is happier, people with kids or those without, most research points to without kids. But a new study says that parents do get happier later in life when their kids move out and become sources of social enjoyment rather than stress. Yeah, and you get to sleep again.
Starting point is 01:06:52 Most surveys of parental happiness have focused on those who have children still at home, and that's why they always come back like, not as happy. That's sad It is what it is man Aaron Paul is confident We will never see his Breaking Bad character Jesse Pinkman again He was like Nah he's done
Starting point is 01:07:10 So that pretty much means no more breaking bad movies I'm over it anyway I just thought it was interesting He's like I'm not doing this character anymore I don't think this character will ever show up That's from AV Club Speaking of things we watch Top Gun Maverick
Starting point is 01:07:23 Flew past Avengers Infinity Ward to become the sixth highest grossing movie of all time. And you can rent it at home for 20 bucks and being told by Mike. You can now? What service, though? Don't say YouTube TV.
Starting point is 01:07:35 No, on Amazon? Oh, you can. Yeah. Somebody told me YouTube TV and I was like, what is that? Might as well be some Spanish channel in Ecuador. I don't have that either. But, okay, Amazon, I can watch it.
Starting point is 01:07:48 That's awesome. Get on it, man. Is it that going to? Oh, yes. It is? Yes. There's no way it can live up to the hype. Yes.
Starting point is 01:07:56 It is. It's way better. I just posted a whole Buckees review about hype. I reviewed the Beaver Nuggets at Buckys. If you go to my Instagram, you'll see it. At Mr. Bobby Bones. And I'll talk about hype and three things that are overhyped all the time. One, New Year's.
Starting point is 01:08:11 Even though it turns out pretty good, it's usually always overhyped. What do we agree with that? Yes. Wait. New Year's is amazing. But it can still be good, but it's always like, it's New Year's. And then it happens, it's like, no, that's fine. It's never as good as you think it's going to be.
Starting point is 01:08:26 Ever. Also overhyped. The beach. Yes. No way. It's hot. It's sweaty. It's sandy.
Starting point is 01:08:32 You get sunburnt. It's the best. It's dumb. Overhyped. It can still be fun. It's so overhyped. And three. Overhyped.
Starting point is 01:08:38 Radiohead, the band. Cole plays better. I said what I said. Yeah. You really just took a hit at them. Yeah, yeah, I did. Honorable mentions, Nutella, music festivals, the Big Bang Theory, and the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 01:08:50 Yeah. But we do look forward to the Super Bowl, though. We do. It doesn't mean something's bad if it's overhyped. It just means it's so hyped up that it's almost impossible. to meet that expectation you have on it. The only music festival that I know that's not overhyped, I heart radio music festival coming up in Vegas.
Starting point is 01:09:03 That's right. But just generally, if I'm buying a ticket to a music festival, I'm hot. I don't care about half the artist. Well, the I heart's inside. Yeah, air conditioned. And it's not at the beach. So let's rock. It's going to be awesome.
Starting point is 01:09:14 Prom's another one. Yeah, prom. Even though it's fun, it doesn't live up to the hype. Of like, you wait your whole life for it. Prong was pretty fun, though. Yeah, you guys are. Pretty fun. This is a lot of fun, actually.
Starting point is 01:09:24 Well, maybe you guys are cooler than we were. Prom king. Yeah, I didn't have a date. So, Variety had that story about Top Gun, but you're saying it is not overhyped. No, you're going to love it. Okay, fair enough. By the way, top six movies are Top Gun at six. Black Panther at five, all time.
Starting point is 01:09:39 Avatar at four. Spider-Man No Way Home at three. Avengers end game at two, and Star Wars, the Force Awakens at number one, making 936 million bucks. Wow. That's crazy. Well, here's a little something for you. This is from us magazine. as a show,
Starting point is 01:09:56 do you guys remember who we put our money on to win the Super Bowl? The Buccaneers. We drew it. Everybody put a team in and we drew the bucks so we have 500 bucks
Starting point is 01:10:04 on them to win the Super Bowl all of our money collected. So Tom Brady left the team. What? He's like, well, hold on. He's like, I got personal things to do I need to jump out for a little bit and everybody's like,
Starting point is 01:10:14 what's happening with Tom Brady? Where's he going? Well, now the theory is because he's back, he's coming back. Now. But he's leaving right before the season starts, right? Very important time.
Starting point is 01:10:23 Yeah. The theory is he took a personal leave to go be on the Masked Singer. Oh, that's funny. There's no way that he would do that. Tom Brady recently took time away from the bucks to deal with a personal matter. The coach said that Brady had talked about the departure. They have a theory. At least football analyst Kendall Valenzuela does,
Starting point is 01:10:43 that Tom signed a $375 million deal with Fox Sports, become their lead football analyst when he retires. The Mask Singer is on Fox. The show Instagram page weighed in, saying that goading is out of hand. If he appears on the show, Antonio Brown and Rob Grunkowski did it as well. He wouldn't even be the first football player.
Starting point is 01:11:01 Interesting. There's no way he would do that. That'd be hilarious, but to leave the team right before the season starts. And he knows we've had all that money on the win. Of course he knows that. House of the Dragon is the largest HBO series premiere in history with nearly 10 million viewers. That's the new Game of Thrones prequel.
Starting point is 01:11:20 I'm looking for time to watch it. I'm looking for time to watch that. I'm looking for time to watch the Mantateo documentary. I'm looking for time to watch. What's the group of superheroes, Mike? It's like season three? No, not the boys. Umbrella Academy on Netflix.
Starting point is 01:11:36 It's really good. Yeah. I just need to go on like a 100-hour flight. But you know what? Those shows aren't going anywhere, man. Just take your time. New ones keep coming. Yeah, but you need to watch the Mantatio.
Starting point is 01:11:47 Deeper in the hole. And finally, a wrong shipment led to Craig Morgan selling his CDs at a merch table to everybody and they were Adele CDs because that's what came to him. Oh, that's hilarious. Instead of his own. Here's Craig Morgan, by the way. So he's selling CDs.
Starting point is 01:12:05 Selling the CDs is the merch booth, but you're like, why is he selling Adel? That's what they sent him. Craig Morgan received the wrong merchandise shipment for a show's. The box of merch had his tour manager's name on the side, but they opened it and it was all Adel CDs. They sold him anyway. Here's a clip from the video. So my merchandise guy just said.
Starting point is 01:12:24 Hey, come here, we have a problem. My new CD doesn't have my picture on it. It has Adele's picture on it. This is not my CD. They gave us Adele's. Adele, maybe the gods are saying that we should be doing a duet together. So tonight, Adele, we're going to be selling your CDs at our merchandise table. Thank you guys.
Starting point is 01:12:46 Check us out. He sells so many. That's cool. Like he sets a new record. That's all he does to sell. Money, right? Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 01:12:53 Yeah, but still, he can. He's ordering them to sell. All right, that's what's up. Bobby's Big. Stories. A little toasty in here this morning. What's the temperature right now, Morgan? It's not toast.
Starting point is 01:13:06 On the thermo. 67. Not to toasty. A little toasty. I'm not firing in all cylinders. You're in a T-shirt, man. It's a colder you are, the more you're into it. You know, you're thinking quick.
Starting point is 01:13:18 You're making good judgments. You're shivering. No. Maybe's got a full blanket right around here. Yes. It's crazy that you guys, you're all in long sleeves. I'm gonna wear a teeny tomorrow. I have a shirt.
Starting point is 01:13:28 I got no shoes on. Like, life is good. I gotta be thinking quick. And the cooler it is up to a point, the quicker you think. This is what I always say to you guys, and nobody believes me. Right. You all say I'm full of crap. You are full of crap.
Starting point is 01:13:40 What, do you look up a study again? Well, I just saw this. The reason not to work outside, new research found that exercising and hot weather hurt your ability to think and slows reaction time. The warmer you are, the slower you are. You're like a slug. and up until you freeze you're thinking quick
Starting point is 01:13:56 I guess Rocky did train in the cold weather when you beat the Russian Of course he did Of course that's what we're doing We're training every day Okay This show's not even on the air guys We just practice
Starting point is 01:14:04 Nobody can hear us We're practicing every day Until we get our big shot A job that shockingly pays a lot A nanny in the Hamptons Makes a minimum of $85,000 a year or more Now I don't know where the Hampton
Starting point is 01:14:18 I know the Hampton's supposed to be in New York Yeah like Northeast And then people like drive to the Hamptons. I've never been. But I don't really know if that's on a different island or something. Scoob is telling me something. What is it? It's on Long Island. It's at the very end of the island. That's why it's a long trek from New York to the Hampton. Have you ever been there? I've been to South Hampton. Yeah. I had a friend that lives out there. Is everybody just richy rich? It's really nice out there. It's very beautiful. All big houses.
Starting point is 01:14:43 She's considered the poor side of that because her house is worth $3 million. So that gives you perspective. Dang. So is everybody on like big jewelry, big jewels? It sounds fictional. It's a very nice place of uptown. There's a beach nearby.
Starting point is 01:14:58 It's great weather, beautiful houses. Everyone looks really good. They do? Yeah, everyone just looks great. Wow. Everyone. Money makes people look good. A high-end nannies pulling about $100 to $20, $130,000 a year.
Starting point is 01:15:10 Wow. In the Hamptons. We all moved to the Hamptons. To be a nannies. Eddie, you guys with four kids, it costs more, right? for a babysitter? Oh, well, you know, that's what I wonder.
Starting point is 01:15:22 It's supposed to, but our babysitter is really cool. She's stayed with the same amount. She's been with us since we've had two kids. And by really cool, I mean, you're taking advantage of her. No, no, no, no, we've asked her if she wants a raise and she says no. We say, is this okay to pay you this much? She goes, absolutely, this is fine.
Starting point is 01:15:38 We've asked her if she wants a raise. She says, no, thank you. That's not the case at all. We didn't phrase it as a raise. What are you going to say, Amy? How much do you hit her with her? Amy, what are you going to say? No, I just think that you should not ask her and go ahead and just bump it up a little bit.
Starting point is 01:15:49 Because she went from two kids to four. Absolutely. If you want to keep people happy, you don't have to give her a huge raise. No. But you have to be proactive with folks. We do. We give her gift cards. Two?
Starting point is 01:15:59 Whatever she likes. Massages. When? Like for Christmas? I'd say every quarter. Hey, look, we got you a little gift card. A little gift card. Yeah, a little something, something for you.
Starting point is 01:16:08 What's like, is it $25 towards $100 on a massage? Is it 10% off bed bath and beyond coupon? That's humongous? No, no, no. Not the one that comes. the mail. Not that one. What are we talking here? Different things, man.
Starting point is 01:16:21 Stuff he gets at work. $25 or $100. Oh, oh, amount? $50. Okay, but still overtime. Here's what I'm going to say. If you really value her, you should try to take care of her and let her feel good always, more so than have to beg because eventually that turns into her leaving.
Starting point is 01:16:38 Right. But when we give her the gift card, she's very happy. She's like, wow, thank you. I did give you a gift card. I did give you a gift card. You made fun of me. Oh, that's what we lost it. For your birthday.
Starting point is 01:16:45 Somebody stole it. Don't even tell me that. That makes me so mad. All right, who would you go to dinner with? Okay, here's the question. People that are alive, that's all you can go to. Because Eddie picked Elvis, can't do it. He's dead.
Starting point is 01:16:56 He's dead. And this comes from a segment we were doing a little bit ago where Amy's daughter had the question asked to her. She's 15 in speech class. And we talked about it earlier because Amy's daughter said she would go to dinner with her birth parents. And we just kind of talked through that for a second. A bit heavy, a bit amazing, a bit sad. It's all in that segment like 40 minutes ago. You can go back and hear it.
Starting point is 01:17:14 but what we want to do is say if you just get to choose anybody to go to dinner with who is it amy go Oprah I mean I don't know I can't think of anybody else right now I just want to sit down and like pick her brain and she's seen so much in life and she just seems also really cool at least on Instagram like she's Oprah but she's normal that I LOLLed at Ray what did Oprah post she said all the stuff you have to do within the day and it ended up equalling out to like three hours of personal self-help where you like meditate for well-being by Oprah. And then Ray counted all the two. He was like, 15 minutes, saying your gratitude.
Starting point is 01:17:49 45 minutes staring at a body of water. An hour of thinking about it. And Ray's like, hey, lady, normal folks are working and they got kids. We don't have three hours just hanging around. But the great thing about Oprah is at one point she was a normal folk. Okay, great. That was a long time. She ain't now.
Starting point is 01:18:05 Eddie, who would you go dinner with? Willie. So I've met Willie and I've hung out with Willie, but I was so starstruck when this happened. I remember the second, the time I hung up. out with him. He told me one cool story about Ray Charles and how when Ray Charles would go to his ranch, they'd play chess. Ray Charles would make Willie turn the lights off, so it was equal.
Starting point is 01:18:22 So, like, Willie had to play chess in the dark with blind Ray Charles. So I'm... I would lie to Ray and be like, yeah, lights are out. That's funny. Keep them up. I turn them up even brighter. And I have somebody behind him telling me what to do. You would totally cheat with Ray Charles?
Starting point is 01:18:37 I know. That's messed out. I say, Willie Nelson, lunchbox. Oh, it's easy. Steven Spielberg. Guys, with my acting career taking off, he is the biggest director in America, he puts on massive films. I'd pull up my video clips, my acting, you know, reels and show them, and boom, there you go. What reels?
Starting point is 01:18:56 Yeah, what reel do you have except us recording you in the studio with the show cameras? From my acting classes on live? On Zoom? Yeah. Reading, my name is Earl? Yep. Dawson's Creek. Oh, that's a good.
Starting point is 01:19:08 Yeah, exactly. I mean, tell me that's not, that's a perfect. Who would you pick those selfishly? Like personally, if you could pick someone. Right. Oh, Johnny Bananas. And you probably could have, but you went way too hard. He ruined that.
Starting point is 01:19:23 I mean, I think I ruined that chance. Like you had a chance. You met him. You guys were DMing. And you went full psycho on him. Yeah. Like, I love you. Can I taste your hair?
Starting point is 01:19:31 It was just weird. Yeah. I mean, and when I met him, I went hard. I mean, I was yelling at him for about 20 minutes. Would you take that back? Would you go back and do that? No, no. Because it was so awesome.
Starting point is 01:19:42 the pure joy and excitement in my body when I saw him. Where? All over. All over. It was just like, wow. Like when my buddy force came out of the bathroom and goes, bananas just walked out of the bathroom. And I said, stop it.
Starting point is 01:19:58 We're in the middle of Austin, Texas. Bananas is not here. And he goes, yes, he is. And we went on a mission to find him. And when we found him, it was. What did you do? Reenacted here. Okay.
Starting point is 01:20:07 I'm sitting here. I'm Johnny Bandis. I'm in a bar. There's music. Yeah. You go. Johnny. Freaking bananas!
Starting point is 01:20:15 You yelled that right at him? Yes. For like 20 minutes. He's like, what's up? I was like, you stay right here. We're taking a shot. I'll be back. And I went and got a shot.
Starting point is 01:20:24 And I was like, bananas! And we did a shot. And I was just like, oh my God, Johnny freaking bananas. What's up, my man? And I just... Did you stay, though? Stayed. That intensity is fine for a second.
Starting point is 01:20:37 No, I stayed there. But you can't be intense like that for like 20 minutes. I stayed there for like 20 minutes. And, My buddy John is a huge fan. So I tried to call John three different times and have bananas talk to him, but John never answered. So I tried to get bananas to leave a voicemail. That's tough.
Starting point is 01:20:55 Most of the time, that's annoying. No, man. Someone's like, here, they'll be like, hey, talk to my Uncle Ron. Oh, right, right. Because what do you say to him? Well, I'm like, hey, Uncle Ron, what's up? Rale? Hey, Uncle Ron, it's Bobby Bones.
Starting point is 01:21:12 Bobby Jones. No, Bobby Bones. Oh, radio? Yeah. May I heard that tell me something good? Can I tell you something? I didn't agree with that. Oh, God, now I'm in trouble.
Starting point is 01:21:21 It's just always something. So, that's a difficult thing to ask somebody. Yeah, but I didn't hold somebody's phone to your mouth. Listen, I wasn't thinking about that. It was Johnny freaking bananas, and it was just a moment in time, and it was so amazing. Because it was so unexpected. It wasn't like, you know, he was somewhere, and I knew he was going to be there, so I knew I was going to see him. Will you explain to our listeners who that is?
Starting point is 01:21:42 I think most are like who's Johnny Bananas. What? Johnny Bananas from Real World Key West. And then also the challenge. He went from Real World Key West. And then he's been on the challenge for years. And he is amazing. I mean, I don't know how else to describe him.
Starting point is 01:21:58 You would have him at dinner. Would you yell the whole time? Would you have a civil conversation? Man, I would try to have a civil conversation. Probably the first 10, 15 minutes. I'd probably be so hyped about it being bananas. His body would be tingling. All over.
Starting point is 01:22:08 I mean, I like him. I think he's pretty funny. I didn't know who he was either until lunchbox introduced. him. Didn't he block lunchbox on Twitter or something? No, no, he didn't block, but remember, no, no, no. Someone reached out to Bobby and said, hey, tell lunch to chill. That's right. Somebody from his group reached out and said, hey,
Starting point is 01:22:26 please tell lunchbox to quit with Johnny. Human block. Oh my gosh. Yeah, I mean, I took, I probably took 20 pictures of Johnny Bananas that night. Some of him just standing there. Hey, Ray, who would you have dinner with? Anybody alive? Cuban, Mark Cuban, just because he's self-made, for the most part, I believe. he started the internet. He's streaming
Starting point is 01:22:44 sports on the internet and he turned that into a blog, bought a sports franchise and Shark Tank. I feel like you would leave that dinner and know how to make money. I think Mark Cuban's super interesting. I think your story is 75% accurate about his life, but it's pretty good. I think Mark Cuban is super interesting. I would go David Letterman
Starting point is 01:23:00 never met him. He's the White Well, you know? The what? The White Well. The one I can't find. Lobby Dick. Oh. Oh, I don't know. I don't know that reference. But just just share with us. what you mean? He spent his whole life
Starting point is 01:23:14 searching for the white whale. Who? Moby Dick did? Anyway, David Letterman is someone. I've never... I truly don't know what you're doing. He's too cerebral for us right now. I've never met him. He's been my hero. It would be David Letterman. He's still hilarious.
Starting point is 01:23:35 I still watch a show. And when he goes out and not just the interview part on Netflix, but when he goes out with people, we watched the Kevin Durant one recently. He's playing shopper board with Kevin Durant. He's so funny still. David Letterman was the guy looked at and said, one, he's hilarious, and two, you don't have to be a supermodel to be on TV because he's kind of goofy looking, as am I. And I was like, let's roll. I'd be like eight, nine years old and watch him all time. Okay, there you go. Thank you, everybody for your suggestions. You're welcome. And bananas, if you're out there, what up, dude? He's out there, but he's probably not listening. You don't think he listens? I don't, no, no. Starting point is 01:27:19 Air Tasker. Get anything done? This is Christy from Ohio who is on the phone right now. Christy, we appreciate your call. What's going on? Well, today was the first day of school, and I read your books to my daughter going into fifth grade and my daughter going into third grade. Seconds, sorry.
Starting point is 01:27:41 And they love it. Oh, that's great. So I'm surprised if fifth grader would like it. She felt like it was still pretty good? Yes. Well, she's kind of obsessed with Bobby Bones right now. She thinks it's really cool to listen to Bobby Bones on the radio and all those things. And she loved it. And I told him I'm going to read it to spend every year. And she's super excited. I sure out of that. And I'll be sad when she grows out of thinking I'm cool. But it is what it is. Thank you very much. I appreciate that. Again, the book is Stanley the dog and the first day of school. And I just wanted to write a book so kids could feel like, they weren't alone and you don't have to go to school and be the coolest kid in the whole world to actually be a really cool kid. And it's up on Amazon and any money that we make in the first year we're going to donate to an animal
Starting point is 01:28:23 organization that we work with. So you help a good cause and hopefully teach your kids a good message at the same time. And also Stanley the Bulldog Rocks. His Instagram's got like 100,000 followers. Really? I think so. Wow. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:28:34 We just post stuff up there. We don't really follow it or like do ads or anything. Let me see. Mr. Stanley. bones. Okay? He has 91.7,000 followers.
Starting point is 01:28:47 Wow. He's a dog. He doesn't do crap. He has no idea. He has his account. He doesn't know what Instagram is. The question is, how do you teach a three-year-old not to steal? That's your question. Why would happen? Because he's stealing things now. We were at a trampoline place, and he went missing.
Starting point is 01:29:02 We were like, oh my gosh, where is he? And we walked all over the place and finally found him. He was on one of those massage chairs sitting there chilling. He had taken an ice cream out of a freezer that's right by the check-in place, and he was just eating the ice cream. He never paid for it. Is that stealing, though? I feel like that's more just consuming.
Starting point is 01:29:17 Okay. To him, it's not stealing. It's taking. Like, we go to the grocery store. He sees chips. Ooh, why not? It's right there. grabs the chips, opens them, starts eating them.
Starting point is 01:29:27 I'm like, that's stealing. And I don't know how to teach a three-year-old that he can't do that. Because to him, it makes sense. It's there. Grab it, eat it. Lunchbox, if you need someone to communicate that to you. Man. Like, how would you like to be?
Starting point is 01:29:41 told lunchbox no. That's a great question because I don't know how you would communicate that. Be like, hey, man, you ain't allowed to do that. You can't pay you. You can't have money and say, if you don't have money, you can't have that. I mean, it's pretty simple. It's like we do that with him with like the bank stories, right? You know, like you find money.
Starting point is 01:29:58 It's yours. You keep it. That's why I'm asking. He's like, if it's in my account, it's now mine. Right. But the, yeah, if you put the groceries in your cart, they're yours. Maybe lunchbox has never taught this. Now he's logically.
Starting point is 01:30:10 I'm like, your three-year-old is kind of on to something now that I think about it. I'm like, once you put in your car, yeah, that's kind of like, that's mine. You guys can call us if you want to help Eddie. 877 Bobby. How have you worked with your three-year-old to show him, hey, that's not cool? I mean, just by getting down his level and looking him in the eye and being like, hey, this is not yours. We have to pay for this before you. And he's just like, huh?
Starting point is 01:30:34 Two words. Two words. Scared straight. Taking to the pin tincture. Yes. Boom. Drop him in a cup. Drop him off.
Starting point is 01:30:39 At three. at three, can you imagine? I think it was awesome. You get all these guys with tattoos. This is amazing. That's funny. Let's go over and talk to we've got some people that have been waiting
Starting point is 01:30:50 to get on the air, so I'm going to put them on real quick. Dylan in Illinois is on the phone. Hey Dylan, what's up, buddy? How's it going, studio? Pretty good. So the question I got to ask is since I just started my school year for college,
Starting point is 01:31:10 would you think it is better to move out of state to go to the college experience or stay closer to your hometown? I guess that is what you're looking for in life. You know, for me, I had a job, so I had to stay close-ish to home, but I was over an hour away, so it didn't feel like home. But if I needed to get home, I could, which I never did. You know, a couple hours is pretty good. You give yourself that two to two-and-a-half-hour mark. You're still close enough to get back pretty easily, but you're also so far that you can get the full college experience.
Starting point is 01:31:44 Now, it's awesome. You want to go out of state and you've always wanted to go to a certain school or live somewhere else, go get it. But you can get both if you stay within that kind of circle. Yeah. When you guys agree? That's what I had two hours away. I was in college station, two hours from Austin, and I could go home
Starting point is 01:31:59 for the weekend and it wasn't stressful if I needed to, but also far enough away to where my parents just weren't going to randomly be like, hey, it invade my space. I felt like I had my own life. Yeah, so that's what we're going to say, Dylan. Are you driving, you say you drive a long ways to school? About an hour or so from my house, but I'm more kind of like, is it beneficial?
Starting point is 01:32:24 Even if I drive an hour to school, would it be better just to stay there for the experience or just commute back? Oh, yeah. Stay, stay. Immediately. I live in the dorm. The whole situation is awesome. You don't want to live in the dorm forever.
Starting point is 01:32:36 but you meet people that you'll know for the rest of your life. I'm a friend Courtney. All right. Good luck, Dylan. Move down there. Eddie will cover the first month's rent. No, no, no, no. Stop that.
Starting point is 01:32:47 You stop that. Thanks, Dylan. Have a good day. You as well. I see it, but you got to move. If you're thinking about it, if something's not keeping you tied at home, you got to move because it's awesome.
Starting point is 01:32:58 Let's go to Ed of Massachusetts. Ed, you're a father of four. So Eddie's asking, how does he teach us three-year-old not to steal? Good morning, studio. Morning. So with my kids, I just tell them that it's not the time. So if they go to grab it, I go over to them. No, right now you have to ask for it first.
Starting point is 01:33:20 So it's about letting them know that there's the expectation of asking and this is time and place for it. Yeah, it sounds like he has chosen the path of not teaching what stealing is, but teaching if you want anything, you have to ask for it, regardless. Whether it's buying or just even getting some from our pantry. Interesting. So start at home. It sounds like at the jump place and at the grocery store, he's just making himself at home. He's like, I'm comfortable here.
Starting point is 01:33:50 So it's teaching it from a different perspective. Like not money, commerce, the open market. Yeah, I was already going next level. Yeah, I felt that. But more it's like if you want anything you have to ask first. Okay, I'll start trying that. All right, Ed, we appreciate that. Thank you for your time.
Starting point is 01:34:08 No problem. I have a great day. Yeah, you too, buddy. Bobby Bone Show. Boney up the day. This story comes to us from Florida. A 42-year-old woman has been arrested for a meat beating. Oh, my nickname in college.
Starting point is 01:34:22 She was in an argument with her husband, and he wanted her to cook the steak, and she... You beat her with the meat? So she took the steak and whacked. She beat him with the meat? Yeah, she beat him with the meat. Wow. That should be interesting. I can't feel good, huh?
Starting point is 01:34:36 Well, depends on which part of the... I might laugh. If they start beating you up to me. If someone starts whooping me with a steak, for a second I might laugh. Probably not. I'm going to get upset. I don't want to get hit with anything.
Starting point is 01:34:48 But if you're using like a T-bone as a weapon, that would hurt. I'm going to think it's hilarious for a second. But that's still a salt, right? Yeah, absolutely. It's a salt and they were intoxicated. I would think so. All right, there you go.
Starting point is 01:35:01 I'm Lunchbox. That's your Bonehead Story of the day. This is Kenney. Indra in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Just let you know that if you really, really want the people who are from the 80s, just like you're asking for on the viewing of your TV show, the people in the 80s don't want to hear about how we suck. So stop saying 80s suck.
Starting point is 01:35:26 I never said a single human sucks. I said the 80s suck as a decade in giving us art. And they don't think people would argue with that when it comes. to rating the decades. I think the 80s comes to dead last. Maybe the 2010s. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:35:40 There was nothing going on. Yeah, golly. I was born in the 80s. But my list is getting longer, though, of things from the 80s that I accept. And so I added a Reebok the other day. Yeah. That's growth by me.
Starting point is 01:35:52 Reebok, the Beastie Boys, the Golden Girls, Richard Marks, our births. Yeah, you're open. Yeah, and I'm still growing as a person. And if we're not growing, we're dead. That's true. So I'm growing. Nobody sucks, Kendra.
Starting point is 01:36:07 Thank you very much for your call. Kendra, you're awesome. You're probably born in the 80s like us. This is Amanda from Massachusetts. Hey, Bobby. Morning Studio. I'm a huge podcast listener. I was just listening to your Thursday podcast
Starting point is 01:36:19 and heard that you had your gamer friend on. I wanted to say that I met my husband on Xbox while playing Call of Duty. We've been together for eight years and it'll be one year for us being officially married on August 30th. Love you guys and love your show. Two things I want to say about this.
