Starting point is 00:02:08 You know, a lot has been made of my 80s list. I was just joking. Like, I don't really like the 80s as far as culture goes. There are some things that are okay. But really, when you look at the 60s, the 70s, the 90s, the 80s, the 80s kind of suck. It was a bad time, bad 10 years for art. Hair bands. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:29 Country music was fine. George Strait came out of the year. The movies were cheesy. There's some good things, but generally it was just not the best decade. So I said, eliminate the 80s. You know, if we have to really lose some great things to get rid of all the crap, I'm up for it. But I've decided that there are some things we will allow on this show,
Starting point is 00:02:48 and only because Richard Marks came on and kind of convinced me. So here's the thing. So far, this is what I have on the 80s. Number one, our births. Yes. We like that from the 80s. Eddie can't clap because he was born in the 70s. I didn't clap.
Starting point is 00:02:58 I didn't clap. 79. Number two, the Beastie Boys fan. Here's a clip, Paul Revere. And I picked the Beastie Boys because when I would hear the Beastie Boys when I was a kid, I was like, oh, look at these guys. they're like me. They're goofy and they can rap
Starting point is 00:03:14 and big Beastie Boys fan. Richard Marks. I wouldn't have put him on here, but he was funny when we talked to him. That is cool. And also here's another one. Hold on to the night. I am going to add George Strait, Amy.
Starting point is 00:03:32 Thank you. George Strait kind of transcends 80s and 90s, but we're going to add George straight to the listings we except from the 80s. And I got one more. I'm now adding the Golden Girls. Yes.
Starting point is 00:03:44 Oh, of course. Yeah. You have to. I do. Travel down the road and back again. Right now, those are the only five things from the 80s that we can have on this show unless otherwise discussed in a group setting. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:03:59 Okay. If you guys want to present at some point and be like, what would you consider this? Then we'll do it. But other than that, 60s cool, 70s cool, 90s cool, 2000s, fair. We'll make that decision in 10 years. No 80s on the show. That's our thing. No 80s.
Starting point is 00:04:13 80s suck. I'm trying to think of 80s things now Yeah, you don't want to. It's terrible. They're not enough. All right. That's all. We'll start the show here.
Starting point is 00:04:20 Thank you guys for hanging out with us. It's an all 80s day here on the Bobby Bone show. All 80s country. Can you imagine? Alabama. We have no. That's good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:30 I'm going to save that. But they were sooner. Oh, come on. You can't do that, Ray. Now I've got to consider it. Thanks, Ray. That's on the docket for discussion next time. All right.
Starting point is 00:04:39 Okay. Andy Kaufman. Oh my gosh. That's good. Yeah, but he died in the 80s. That counts. It was awesome in the 70s. So it's like, I don't like when he died.
Starting point is 00:04:49 That's why the 80s suck. They killed him. The 80s killed him. Field of dreams, great movie. Overrated. What, loose? Mm. Top Gun!
Starting point is 00:04:57 I didn't watch it until like the 2010s. It is time to open up the mailbag. You send an email and we read it all the air. It's something we call Bobby Mailbag. Yeah. Hello, Bobby Bones. I want to say I'm big fan of the show. games. Secondly, I need some advice. When I was in high school, I dated this guy for two and a half
Starting point is 00:05:17 years. We got pretty serious. I was super close with his family. We broke up, but I stayed good friends with the family, even after he and I both moved on. I work for his mom at her shop seasonally and have kept in contact with his sister. Now, fast forward six years to today, and his mom and sister informed me he's recently single again after he and his fiancee broke it off. And they're flat out telling me they want me to get back together with him. I, however, Do not. I'm a single mom to an infant, and not only do I not have time to date. I don't want to get back together with my ex. I've tried having multiple conversations with his mom and sister saying this, but I can't help feeling it's not getting through to them. How do I communicate with them that I don't want to get back together with him without hurting their feelings or being rude?
Starting point is 00:06:02 I love's family. I want to continue that friendship, but I don't want to get their hopes up every time. I'm in the same room with him. Once again, love the show and everything you all stand for. Thank you. Single mom trying to stay single. Wow. That's a good email. I appreciate you giving us that story. First of all, you don't owe anything to anybody except yourself. So know that right now. So you don't have to do anything for them.
Starting point is 00:06:25 It's nice if a friend does something or a worker does something for you. But you got to make sure you're right before you try to make them feel right. So you don't owe them anything. You've told them, hey, I'm not going to date. And I think you could probably tell them one more time and be like, I appreciate you guys trying to give me back together with him. I just won. I don't want a day.
Starting point is 00:06:45 And I don't see my future with him. I'll be honest with you guys. At this point, I feel like I've moved on emotionally. I'm more mature. And then you have to just hope that they understand it and take it and move on. If they don't, that's on them. They'll keep ribbing you.
Starting point is 00:07:00 But you don't, you shouldn't feel pressure to do it, which you're not. And you shouldn't feel pressure to have to keep explaining to them. You can tell them one time. You don't have to get serious or mean. But say, you guys know this is never going to happen, right?
Starting point is 00:07:12 You can even be one-eighth funny about it. Yeah. And you can say that. You guys know. Like, I get it. You want me in your family, too. I'll be honest with you. But you know, this is never going to happen.
Starting point is 00:07:24 So, like, thank you, but no more. And you're kind of funny. They're like, ha, ha, ha. And then maybe they leave you alone. They should be fine with that. I would think so to, you must be pretty cool if the family's wanting you know very much. Amy, what do you think? I mean, I think that, yeah, if you've already said it in a comment,
Starting point is 00:07:39 way, you could say it kindly again, but then, yes, like Bobby said, then you have to let it go. It is no longer your problem. If they have an issue with it, that is on them and it's not for you to worry about it. Even though I know that's really hard to do, but just remind yourself of that. And also, she's not going to fire you. So if they do get upset that she says no and they do fire her, like what's the scenario? Well, that's a little thing called HR. in the in the little shop you're good
Starting point is 00:08:11 you'll be good they enjoy you for who you are don't feel the pressure to have to make that up to them tell them move on move on let them keep thinking
Starting point is 00:08:18 it but that's it don't feel awkward thank you for that email good luck with that situation that is pretty sensitive and I wish you the best all right close it up that's the mailbag
Starting point is 00:08:26 we've got your email and we've read it on the air now it's about to close Bobby's mailback yeah on the phone Joseph in Alabama. Joseph, you're 12 years old.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Am I right? Yes, sir. All right, what's going on with you? I have my own pressure washing in this, and I was wondering if somebody gave me a low price, what would y'all do? So they're like low balling you on, they don't want to pay you as much?
Starting point is 00:08:53 Yeah. So walk me through it. So did they come to you and say, hey, I'd like you to pressure wash my back deck, and I'm only going to give you a dollar. Like, is that how it happened? No, it's kind of like, well, yeah, was like higher price, not like a dollar.
Starting point is 00:09:07 What did they want you to pressure wash? Their driveway. Okay. And what is your normal, what would your normal rate be to do their driveway fully? 14 cents a square foot. Okay. And then what do they want to give you? Like $90.
Starting point is 00:09:19 So I don't know how big the driveways, but what would you be making on their driveway? Like $175. Oh, they're trying to like half you. Did you explain to them that your price is $0.40. No, I just kind of let it be. And how do they reach out to you? that they talked to you in person or do they send you like a message on Facebook or something? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:09:38 They talk to me in person. So why don't you go back to him? You hit him back up and be like, hey, this is Joseph? You reached out about pressure washing. Hey, I'm really going to do a good job. I normally charge 14 cents a square foot. And if I'm doing the math here, it turns out to be 170. Now you only offer me 90.
Starting point is 00:09:55 I could actually give you a little deal since, and you can just say something like hard times. You can always say that. And said, I could, you know, for you, since. You know, I'd really like to create a business relationship with you. I would do it for 13 cents a square foot, and that turns out to la la, la, which is a little cheaper. And so you still got some work. You're creating a relationship. It's really not much less.
Starting point is 00:10:16 And maybe this person will hire you again. And they'll also refer you to other folks, especially if your business is young and early, you know? Yeah. But don't take any less than that. Just because you're a kid, they don't have the right to go, here, half a kid, comes pressure washing my yard. Don't do that, you know? So what are you going to do, you think?
Starting point is 00:10:33 I'm going to go to ask me. Yeah, see, I'll do it. But do a whole story, like, and take notes here, Justin. I'm pretty good at this. Say, hey, I got, you said you wanted it at 90 bucks. Now, normally my rate is 14 cents a square foot, and that would equal out to 170 bucks. And that's far more than you're comfortable paying. I understand that.
Starting point is 00:10:52 But I would like to create a relationship with you. Maybe we could work together for a long time. You could refer me to other friends. So I'm happy to do it for 13 cents a square foot for you. If you'll just recommend me to your friends. Maybe that's worth it to you. That's good. And maybe even he goes, 12 cents.
Starting point is 00:11:05 And you go, let me weigh it. Well, could you recommend me to five friends? Yeah. Okay, 12 cents it is. I think there's something to a very, very slight negotiation, especially because your business is new. But do not let them take advantage you, Joseph. Yes, sir. All right.
Starting point is 00:11:20 How's the business going so far? Good. I made about $2,000. Are you kidding? Wow. Eddie hasn't even made that on Instagram real. No, well, you don't know that. You don't know that.
Starting point is 00:11:30 Eddie's doing reals every day, Joseph. He ain't made that. at all. Joseph, you want any help doing pressure washing? What are you going to do? Drive down to Alabama?
Starting point is 00:11:37 Yeah, it could in the weekends. Yeah. Yeah, we're in North Alabama, so we're not far away from you. There you go. Right, there you go. Hey, Joseph,
Starting point is 00:11:45 how did you get your pressure washer? Did your parents help you get that one, or did you buy yourself? I bought it myself. How much was it? Did you get a new one or used one? A thousand dollars. Yeah, a new one or use one, though?
Starting point is 00:11:55 Use one. Is it doing pretty good for you? Yes, sir. This is around 4,500 PSI. Pretty strong. I'm not. acting like I know what that means. Per square inch.
Starting point is 00:12:05 Pressure for square inch. Okay. Joseph, here's what I want you to do. First I want you to stand strong and I want you to go to him and say, because there is value in going a cent cheaper, a square foot, even two cents. There's value if you think there's value of him recommending to other folks. If you don't think it's value, don't do it. But do not let him take advantage of you.
Starting point is 00:12:21 So go do that tactic. And that's it. And you got it. You either got a job or you don't. Also, how old is he again? 12. Oh, my gosh. He's killing it.
Starting point is 00:12:30 Can he call my children? Yeah, exactly. Talk strategy. Well, he'll do that for 14th to a second. Hey, what about those signs that you put on there, like, let's say, like, pressure watched by, you know, so-and-so? Oh, like, because we have a bug guy, and it's like, Benny the bug guy. And he puts a sign in, I'm like, why do you always put that sign in the very front of the yard? But he does put it there.
Starting point is 00:12:48 Right. That way everyone knows who did the pressure washer. Oh, that's good. You can negotiate that. For one month, you leave it up with my number on there. What I'm talking about? Dang, Joseph. I'll be your agent, but I don't need any cut.
Starting point is 00:12:56 That was my idea. No, but I'm going to be his agent for others. Okay, whatever. That's what I do to Caitlin all the time. She's like, I get this idea. I'm like, all right, now I got an idea. And she's like, no, no, that was mine. I was like, feel very good.
Starting point is 00:13:10 All right, Joseph, will you have this conversation and then let us know how it turns out and just call us back at some point? Yes, sir. Hey, keep hustling, man. I love it. That's awesome. You're going to be very successful
Starting point is 00:13:20 with an attitude and a work ethic and a knowledge of what you're doing. So I'm very proud of you. All right, cool. All right, buddy. Bye, Joseph. See you later. Good for him. There's Joseph. You can't take a compliment, but who can't?
Starting point is 00:13:34 You know, it's hard. The latest from Nashville and Hollywood. Morgan number two, 30-second skinny. Brantley Gilbert announced he's hitting the road with heavy metal band, five-finger death punch. The tour will also include special guest Corey Marks. It kicks off November 9th in Michigan and wraps in December. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m.
Starting point is 00:13:56 Keith Urban shared how Olivia Newton-John helped him meet his wife, Nicole Kidman. I'd just written with Olivia, so I asked Olivia if she would do it for me. So she was the person who introduced me that fateful night when I met my wife. So she also plays that very special role in our past as well. Marin Morris and Zed have teamed up for another collaboration. The song is called Make You Say along with a duo called Bose. The song will drop this Friday.
Starting point is 00:14:22 I'm Morgan. That's Your Skinny. It's time for the good news. With producer Eddie. Tell me something good. is nine years old and he has an interesting hobby. He loves to sew. And because he loves to sewing camp, he gets a lot of bull in at sewing camp. He's the only boy at sewing camp and a lot of sewing camp. Yeah. And Sam goes to it. I wish I went to sewing camp. That'd been awesome. I would have been able to beat people up at sewing camp. And that alone would have been awesome.
Starting point is 00:14:50 You mean sewing, you would go to sewing camp like today? No, as a kid, when I went to church camp or I went to, I don't really go to a lot of camps, but anything I did with other kids, I got beat up or picked on because I was small. At sewing camp, I'd have ruled. No one would have to beat me up a sewing camp. That'd have been awesome. Well, Sam goes to sewing camp. He gets a lot of bullying because he does sew. And kids, I guess, don't approve of that.
Starting point is 00:15:11 Well, his dad said, you know what? I'm going to buy him a sewing machine. I'm going to take a video of it. I'm going to put it up on TikTok and Instagram. And the feedback that he got from the video of all the supportive people saying, dude, you're awesome for doing this was amazing. And Sam feels so much better about himself. Here's a clip of Sam opening his gift.
Starting point is 00:15:29 You got your own sewing machine, bud, right? Are we liking that? Yes! That's awesome. Yeah. I mean, to all the kids out there, anything that other kids think is weird about you or different about you, I'm telling you if you hold on to it, it will be what makes you different, and it will be what is your strength later.
Starting point is 00:16:05 This kid could be a great designer. Oh, for sure. He's got a head start. He's already learning little tricks and tips and anybody else getting into it. They'll have to learn. They'll be far behind. And when he's, you know, Johnny, what's the name? Sam.
Starting point is 00:16:18 Sam Hillfigure. The designer? Yeah, they'll all be like, dang, we knew him. We were friends with him to him as nine. No, you weren't. You bullied him. Yeah, you know what people now are like, hey, man, we were friends in high school. No, you weren't.
Starting point is 00:16:28 You put me in the locker. You can come to my show? Well, you can buy tickets and no meeting great. Okay, meeting great, fine. But still, I'm going to put you the back of the line. But yes, yes, yes. Sam, that's awesome, buddy. I don't know if you can hear me.
Starting point is 00:16:39 but remember what's different about you now is what is special about you as well and very special about you later. That's super cool. That is what it's all about. That was tell me something good. This story is from Fox 10, Arizona. Three parents of Arizona students
Starting point is 00:16:56 were arrested on Friday after they attempted to force their way onto the campus of an elementary school that had been locked down. Thompson Ranch Elementary School in El Mirage was locked down after school officials reported I had seen an armed man on the school's grounds. The school remain closed.
Starting point is 00:17:12 They looked for him. But some parents said, nope. And they went in, got in anyway, but then got arrested. Here's what I say. You know what happened to Ovalde? Oh, yeah, no, I know. I was just thinking of that. If I was a parent, you can arrest me, I guess.
Starting point is 00:17:26 But if I felt like I needed to get my kid, I'm just going to go get my kid. Love it. Yeah, because, yes, especially after that being just in the news and we witnessed that happened, it's like, okay, fine. I'll take that on my record. And you shouldn't be allowed to do it. I'm not saying that it should be wide open. That's the risk that you take.
Starting point is 00:17:45 And if you want to go, okay, I'm going to break the rule and go get my kid, you're probably going to get arrested. And now, okay, you've got to pay the punishment. But I understand why parents would do that right now, especially when the people wouldn't go into that school. Nobody would go into that school. Even though there was a lot of time where someone could have went into the school, now they got their kids or stopped.
Starting point is 00:18:03 And they did arrest people there as well. So I read the story and thought, Hmm. I don't blame the parents for going up and trying to do that. Eddie, you what if this happens? I mean, yeah, you do anything for your kids, right? I mean, I think at that point, especially with everything going down, you don't even think about getting arrested.
Starting point is 00:18:23 I think it's one of the things that just happens after the fact. I'm getting arrested, great. You know what? Everyone's going to understand why I did what I did. So no problem. But I wonder is how scarring is it for the kid now? or the kids are just like, that was a lockdown for nothing. I would have forgotten that for the rest of my life.
Starting point is 00:18:39 But now my parents got arrested. That's crazy. Somebody got arrested. That would be pretty crazy to see your parents get arrested. Like my dad just got arrested in front of me. Would you think that was cool though? Oh, I, as a dad? No, as a kid.
Starting point is 00:18:48 Oh, no, no, no. Oh, dude. If I ever saw my dad get arrested, that would be so weird. Oh, I saw parents get arrested, dude. You did? Oh, yeah. Dude, I saw parents, aunts, aunts, grandma. Yeah, that's not cool.
Starting point is 00:18:59 I saw everybody get arrested. Where I come from, everybody's getting arrested. What day of the week is it? End of the Y? see that. Like, that's a memory and you still at 42 years old. But for this though, like, the parents aren't really doing anything that's
Starting point is 00:19:13 against the normal law. Like, they're not stealing. I know, but I don't think my kids ever want to see me in handcuffs. That's something like, you just can't. I agree. Unless it was something cool, though. Yeah. Like, trying to save their life. My dad, and as your way, you're like, I'll be back soon, kids. Always protect out. With your hands behind your bag. There's one
Starting point is 00:19:31 thing I love. It's you, kids. Okay, in that case, yeah. I don't blame the parents, but they did break the law and they will be punished and we'll move on from it. And I also think it had been different if it had been like there's somebody in the town that possibly was doing something so we're going to lock the school down. I think that had been different than a reported armed man on the school grounds. I think that also makes it a little different too. Sometimes they would lock stuff down because there was a crime happening a mile away from the school. They say an armed man on the school grounds.
Starting point is 00:20:02 Yeah. So I just wondered how you felt about that. I don't hate the parents for doing that. I don't either. And I totally understand why they would. Starting point is 00:22:27 Cheryl and Brian from Colorado Springs are on the phone. Hello, Cheryl and Brian. Hello. Good to talk to you guys. I'd like to quickly remind you of Cheryl and Brian's story in case you don't remember. They were at a NASCAR race in New Hampshire. While on their way to Maine, they were, as we've been told, listening to the show. We were talking about playing the lottery.
Starting point is 00:22:46 Cheryl felt inspired, went in, bought a ticket. They won $1 million. Come on. Wow. They listen to us in Colorado Springs on Y-96.9. Cheryl, is that story true? 100%. Wow.
Starting point is 00:23:02 I have so many questions. Okay, so you always play Powerball and you want to play, and you're thinking of Mega Milligan or the other way around? So we played Powerball maybe nine to ten times in the last four years. So we heard you guys with Lunchbox talking about him trying to get you to put in money for him to buy the Mega Million tickets. So when we pull into the lottery store that Monday morning, I told my husband, I said, hey, just go ahead and buy five or $10 for the mega millions. I don't know what it is, but obviously listening to the Bobby Bone show,
Starting point is 00:23:35 it must be big if lunchbox is trying to convince all them to put in a pool of money. So my husband went in. He bought $10 on the Powerball, $10 on the mega millions. And three days later, we learned that we were the million dollar winner. Come on! Wow! Wow. Amazing.
Starting point is 00:23:52 So how do you know you won? Do you check the next morning or do you look right after? Like what happens for you to know you won a million bucks? So it was Wednesday. We just kind of forgot about it because we were coming back to Colorado on that following Friday. So we had kind of forgot about it because we were just trying to, you know, kind of finish up our vacation. And I ran in a town and my husband calls me. I was actually sitting in the Home Depot parking lot.
Starting point is 00:24:21 And he's like, hey, he's like, I just about had a heart attack. And I said, well, why? And he's like, well, because we got some of the numbers on the mega millions. And I said, whatever. Like, I don't have time for this. And he's like, no, I'm dead serious. He's like, we got five numbers, but I can't see that we actually would win anything for the five numbers. So I said, well, send me a picture of the ticket.
Starting point is 00:24:44 Well, it took like 10 minutes for the picture of the ticket to come over via text. So I went ahead and Googled mega millions. Well, the first thing that popped up was a press release that the million dollar ticket was one at the Portsmouth Liquor and Lottery Out. No way. Wow. So I start screaming and I send him that article and I'm like, oh, my God, it must be us. And then finally the ticket came over and sure enough, I saw that we had the five numbers. So I called the New Hampshire Lottery Commission Office to verify that we actually did win and what we did from there.
Starting point is 00:25:25 That is wild. Amazing. You saw the place it was bought from and you just knew. So what do you do once you realize you'd want a million bucks as far as you got to go into the office? Do you put the ticket somewhere safe? What happened? Well, and that's the crazy thing is because we were in Maine, we had to drive back down to New Hampshire because I guess. each state is different, so we couldn't validate the ticket in Maine.
Starting point is 00:25:51 So it was like 1 o'clock in the afternoon. So we hurry up and get ready. We pack a bag. We drive all the way back down to New Hampshire. And by the time we got down there, the lottery office was closed. So we ended up spending the night in a hotel down there Wednesday night. And then Thursday morning, we were at the lottery, commissioned the main lottery place in Concord, New Hampshire at like 8.30 that morning to cash in
Starting point is 00:26:16 the ticket. When you're at the hotel that night before, are you just like, I cannot believe this. I cannot believe this. This can't be real. I mean, yeah, and we were like, you know, we were like, you still just don't, you don't really realize it. And even now, right now, it's still, we look at each other and we just laugh because it's like, is this for real? Like, this really is happening or this really has happened. And so the whole night, like, we couldn't sleep. We were a nervous wreck. It was like, let's just get up and get there because we were scared having the ticket. And it just, yeah, It was nuts.
Starting point is 00:26:46 So this is Cheryl and her and her husband Brian won a million dollars because they buy lottery tickets, but they were listening to our show. We were talking about a different game. They played that different game after hearing us talk about it. They won a million bucks. So have you got the money yet? Yes. So crazy thing is we're in the office Thursday morning and they said, hey, you know, we don't have enough money in our funds to give you a check, which I said, well, that's fine because I don't want to get on a plane tomorrow morning with a million dollar check. So they're like, we'll just deposit, you know, we'll just do a wire transfer.
Starting point is 00:27:20 And I'm like, that's fine. And they're like, it takes two to three days. Well, as soon as we left the office, I get an email. We had the wire transfer within an hour of reading their office. Wow. Wow. So do they give you all $1 million or do you take a lump or what's that situation? So they don't even, so I guess because it's just a million, they don't give you an option of like cash out or whatever.
Starting point is 00:27:45 just the one million and they take out the taxes and they deposit what's after the taxes. This is how you know somebody wanted a bunch of money? It's just a million. Hey, we got us a rich. Yeah. That's terrible. I did not mean to say it like that. I know what you, man. It said of like the billion or so they were talking about. Lunchbox, here she is. This is Cheryl and Brian. What would you like to say to them? Well, I mean, just everything you've said is I inspired you to play the lottery that you would have never played the mega millions if it wasn't for me. And so, I mean, you got a million dollars and so I've been checking my mailbox I've checked the wire transfer they wouldn't know that stuff well that's what I'm saying so what's my cut I would say so my husband
Starting point is 00:28:24 we love Nashville we love coming to Broadway so my husband already said we'll make a trip to Nashville we'll come and take you out for a day how about that take me out for a day like take me out for a day yeah take him to do what do some of your most fun stuff have it a lunchbox today I'm know like you know what I love to do you know we can go out and I love to do you know we can go out and love to go to the park and I love to find like $20,000 under a bench. That's what I love to do. That's what a lunchbox day is? That's a lunchbox day. So let's do it. All right. We'll put on our calendar. I can't. No, no. And then also when you're in the hotel, are you like, people like, oh, why are you in Concord? Are you like, oh, we got a winning lottery ticket? Like, what do you
Starting point is 00:29:01 tell the waitress at the, you know, restaurants? Oh, no. We have just kept it between us. We did tell our family and a few of our friends. So, no, we've just really kept it on the down low until now, of course. I mean, I can't believe this. They don't ever play this. They never play the mega millions. They listen to me. They win a million dollars. I've been playing for years. I can't win crap. And they say they'll take me to a snow cone. I mean, gosh.
Starting point is 00:29:25 What are your plans, though? Like, are you all going to, you know, buy yourself something nice? Go to the casino? Oh, casino. No, no, no, no. My husband actually said that. I said, absolutely not. We're not going to the casino. So we're going to take a vacation. And then it's always been my husband's dream to have a beach home. So we're going to look for a condo or a beach home.
Starting point is 00:29:46 Wow. Nice job. Crazy. Lunch box. They're going to get a beach house because of you. I know. I talk about, man,
Starting point is 00:29:52 see. This is crazy. You can come visit the beach house lunchbox. If you give me an open invitation, I will take the family to the beach house for sure. Oh, you will take the family and stay at their beach house. It's pretty much my beach house too. I mean, we got this together. This was a combined group effort.
Starting point is 00:30:08 So it'll be a family. Like if they're there one week, you know what I'll come the next week. That's great. Yeah. Cheryl. We'll summer there. Thank you for talking with us. Brian, congratulations.
Starting point is 00:30:16 That's amazing. Million bucks is crazy. And I hope you guys buy you a nice beach house and live happily ever after. And thank you for listening to the show. Send me that address. Insane. We love all of you and we listen every day. So thanks so much and this has been great.
Starting point is 00:30:28 Thank you. Bye guys. Bye, bye. This is Callie from PA. Hey, this message is for Amy. I just heard on the podcast that she got two snails in her fish tank. She should really remove them. are asexual animals, which means one day she'll have one or two snails in the fish tank.
Starting point is 00:30:49 Next day she looks, there's going to be hundreds. And then she has to empty out the fish tank and clean everything out. Okay. This is so crazy because I think one of the snails was reproducing like yesterday. It was just laying there and doing something. And I said, is this snail dead? And my daughter said, no, I think it's multiplying. What?
Starting point is 00:31:08 It's the opposite. And I'm like, what? So I had no idea. Wow. So you better get to cleaning, removing snails? Well, we just cleaned the tank. Gave it a fresh little once over last night. So I know more snails at this point.
Starting point is 00:31:22 So we'll see what happens. This is Kirsten from Greenville, Tennessee. Good morning, studio. Why didn't a lifeguard rescue the hippie? Because he was too far out, man. Okay, we thought that was pretty funny. Y'all have a good day. Right, thank you.
Starting point is 00:31:38 Here's Amy's Pile of Stories. So if someone in a bar or a club feels threatened, they can actually go up to the bartender and say, hey, can I get an angel shot? And they'll know that that means that they need to keep an eye on them in the situation. That sounds good in theory. I bet you you do that. I don't know what that is. Or they give you some shot.
Starting point is 00:31:57 They bring an angel shot. Hopefully they learned it at bartending school. But what if the threatening person is near you and they know what angel shot is and you can't say that? Then you can say, is Angela working? Okay. People aren't going to know this. The bartenders aren't going to know this. People are going to be confused.
Starting point is 00:32:15 Angela's going to be working. Then she's going to show up. It's be like, what do you need? What? The whole thing is just like a bad 80s sitcom scene. Okay, well, if that happens, there is a bartender. A video has gone viral of him sharing other tips that will help keep you safe. And just here's a quick rundown.
Starting point is 00:32:32 You can ask your bartender if Angela's working. But I have seen situations where even this isn't good enough. Get this close to an authority figure or somebody who's working at the location as possible. Whisper or yell it if you have to. Shorter words, if possible, get your point across to make sure that they know that you need help. Yeah, here's what you do if you need help in a bar. I need help. There you go.
Starting point is 00:32:51 That works. Let that go viral. Yes. All right, what else? Ketchup and mustard-flavored Doritos are now a thing. Do either of those sound good to you? I like mustard on anything. And I don't know that it sounds awesome, but it sounds good enough for me to try the ketchup ones.
Starting point is 00:33:08 But even the ketchup ones, mm-hmm. Sounds pretty good. Yeah. Oh, ketchup's my favorite. It doesn't make me want to vomit, but I don't really have the need to buy a bag of ketchup, Doritos. Mustard ones I do, though. So is this a real thing or is this kind of a joke? No, it is real.
Starting point is 00:33:23 You can go to Snacks.com and order them. I bet you A1 flavored Doritos will be awesome. You'd buy them all. Oh, yeah. That'd be amazing. That's an A1 this weekend. I went to a steak place before a show, and I was like, hey, and I have to, like, whisper it for a nice place because the venue is paying for our dinner. And I was like, yeah, I'd like a porterhouse, please.
Starting point is 00:33:41 and hey, you got any A1 back down? It's like it's illegal. Yeah. The server's like, wait, is that code for something? He opens up his vest and he's selling some. He needs this kind. All right, what else? Well, Charles Kelly is saying that he is grateful for the support of his fans as he gets sober.
Starting point is 00:33:58 He put a post up talking about how they postponed their tour, which we knew that. But he just wanted to thank everyone for the support and the encouragement, which is much needed. And he just loves all the kind words and thoughts and prayers. Yeah, hope Charles hangs in there. and, you know, does what he needs to do, take care of himself. The awkward thing for me is we had the countdown this past weekend, and we had recorded an interview with Lady A from like three weeks ago to go on the national countdown.
Starting point is 00:34:21 And we're like, buy tickets to the tour. Some people were buying tickets to the tour, but there wasn't a tour because they had announced it were postponing it. Some people were mad at me. I'm like, guys, I recorded this countdown like two weeks ago. Like, leave me alone. But we are rooting for Charles and Hillary and Dave. And, you know, they get through this and get back on the road and get healthy, you know?
Starting point is 00:34:38 Yeah, they're planning on being back on the road in 2023. So we'll see them then. I'm Amy. That's my pile. That was Amy's pile of stories. It's time for the good news. With lunchbox. Tell me something good. Officer Bill Bedet was on patrol in St. Paul, Minnesota, when he saw some smoke.
Starting point is 00:34:58 And he calls it in. Oh, yeah, we got some smoke coming from my house. I'm going to locate it. And he gives the address. And he's looking and someone comes up, goes, hey, I think there's kids inside. He's like, well, can't wait for the fire department. and then goes to the back door, boom, boom, kicks it in and saves four kids, ages four to seven years old.
Starting point is 00:35:17 Wow. Kicking into the door. That's pretty cool. That's a commitment. Yeah. You can't go back. You better hope you're right. Thank God he was.
Starting point is 00:35:28 That's awesome. Good for him. It's a great story. Save the kids. That's what it's all about right there. That was Tell Me Something Good. Eddie claims to have picked up a hitchhiker, which doesn't sound safe. first of all. And secondly, I haven't seen a hitchhiker on the road.
Starting point is 00:35:43 Yeah, I hadn't seen one in a while either. What happened? I was driving and I see this old man. He's got groceries in his bag and he's waving people down. People are just going past him. Why come up? I'm like, hey, what's up, man? He's like, I'm about to walk up this big hill. Can you give me a ride up the hill, please? And I said, yeah, hop in. He hopped in the back seat. I took him up the hill, probably 300 yards and he got out. That's not a hitchhiker. He got in my car. That's somebody trying to get up a hill. I gave him a ride. That's an old man with groceries. He had 300 yards to kill me.
Starting point is 00:36:10 He didn't. That's a hitchhiker. Okay. The question is, is that a hitchhiker? No. No. That's just you being a nice guy. Somebody need to ride up here.
Starting point is 00:36:20 A hitchhiker is someone standing on the sidewalk with their bags. Thumb. And they're going to take them as far as you can take them. You need a thumb to be a hitchhiker. He didn't wave with a thumb. But you got to put it out like thumb, like that. Hitchhiker thumb. Nice job, by the way.
Starting point is 00:36:35 Yeah, super thoughtful. That's a good guy thing to do, but that's not a hitchhiker ready. So stop telling people you picked up hitchhiker. Okay. All right. It's also not a good example. What do you mean? Was your kid in the car?
Starting point is 00:36:43 No, it was your kid in the car? No, no, no, no. I'm not going to put my kids in danger and pick up a random stranger. Okay, but we're going to go with nice guy, yes, hitchhiker, no. Dang, okay. Okay. Let's go over to Amy and get in the morning corny. The morning corny.
Starting point is 00:36:58 What word becomes shorter if you add two letters? I almost want to try to think of this one. Come on. What word becomes shorter if you add, shorter? Short. Shorter. Short. Short.
Starting point is 00:37:14 You got it. Okay. Okay. No, it's a riddle. It's a joke. It's a riddle. But yeah, I was like, there's got to be something. I'm short.
Starting point is 00:37:23 Short. Short. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I want to laugh, though. Yeah, anything good. Okay. Pocket, that's made me laugh. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:37:28 Do you think they laugh loudly in Hawaii? I don't know. Or is it just a lohaha. That's pretty good. That's good. That was the morning corny. That's a good one. Starting point is 00:40:42 It's scary. It's a game that our listeners love. Welcome to Blind Karaoke. Okay, so you can't see any lyrics. You're singing karaoke with no lyrics. But you don't know what song you're going to sing because I'm going to spin the wheel here. The category is, one hit wonder.
Starting point is 00:41:01 Oh, great. Oh, wow. Wonders. So nobody even knew the category. So you guys couldn't practice. Some of them are Baby Got Back. Oh, that's a good one. Mambo number five.
Starting point is 00:41:12 Love it. Barbie Girl. Yeah. Oh, my favorite. What is love? Baby don't hurt me. Teenage dirt bag. Don't know that one.
Starting point is 00:41:19 I'm just a teenage dirt bag, baby. Ice Ice Baby. Oh, I know that one. Yes. All right. So I'll spin the wheel. There are four competitors. It is Lunchbox.
Starting point is 00:41:29 Amy, Eddie, and Abby. And we rolled the dots. Nice. Lunchbox's number came up first. So he will be performing first. That's how everybody comes to see the opener. You ready to? No, they don't. No, that's not what happens. They really don't. No. Most people don't even, at being the opener before, it's, most people don't even show up when I was, you know up there. And I was like, hey Eddie, nobody's here. And he's like, I know.
Starting point is 00:41:47 Well, I think that's what an Oprah tells himself. So they feel confident up there. All right? Spin the wheel? I'm ready. Let's spin it! Here we go, here we go, here we go. Give me that one. That's the one I want. Yes. Oh, LFO Summer Girls. Oh. Do you know that one?
Starting point is 00:42:06 Yeah, dude. You get me? Ray, can you play some of Summer Girls for our audience as Lunchbox heads over to the performing microphone? New kids on the block had a bunch of heads. Chinese food makes me. He's put the pack in his pocket and now he can hear. You can hear me, right? I can hear you?
Starting point is 00:42:21 Can you hear you? Yeah. Now this song, hold on, hey, bro. This song is like, it's got like white rapping. Yeah, I know how to do it? Yeah, I know how to do the rapping. So when you start, I'll give you up until the end of the chorus. don't even know what that means.
Starting point is 00:42:37 Okay. Ray, are you ready? You can start it over? When does it start? Can I nod him in? No, you don't need not me in. Don't worry about it. He doesn't want it.
Starting point is 00:42:45 You know, I don't want it? Because when I win, people will be like, oh, you know what I mean? Bobby held him. It doesn't count. So I don't want any of that. Ray, are you ready? This time when you start it, it starts. Lunchbox, LFO Summer Girls.
Starting point is 00:42:56 Yeah. Are you ready? I stopped by for the summer. All right. Here we go. Begin. I stop by. No, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:43:02 Begin like he's going to start the song run. Oh. There you go. Got it. This way. This way. When's he going to start it? Was I supposed to start?
Starting point is 00:43:19 I'm going to cue you in. Ready? Here you go. Lunchbox. Three, two, one. Go. Oh, new kids. I have had a lot of hits.
Starting point is 00:43:25 I had a real big itch. I stopped by for the summer. Summer, you know, and it was really hot outside. Them girls on Abercobie and Fitch, if you're really rich, that's where you shop. And it smelled really good. And I stole a lot of clothes from there when Aaron worked. there that one summer summer summer he was the manager manager and he would just put clothes in my bag Abercrombie and bitch I apologize for my little stitch and stealing and itch oh stop by for the summer
Starting point is 00:43:56 summer the summer days are gold gold days summer oh Jake Owen copied that song in the summer summer oh yeah you want to go to nantucket that's a really rich place I've heard so I'm sure summer Summer girls, summer girls, ooh, how do you like that? Itch. Ooh, Abercrombian, fish. Ah, oh, like fly, like a mine. Ooh, my tie.
Starting point is 00:44:19 Oh, ooh, I hope I don't die. Habir girl, and they'll have me, every, every, every kid. Time. Oh, wow. Woo. Okay, okay. So.
Starting point is 00:44:28 Yeah, shout out, Aaron. Scobus Dave, Mike, and myself, he just, like, worked in a confession and an apology. Yeah, oh, yeah. And we definitely get to that. Yeah. The score is one through 10 guys. You write Lunchbox now.
Starting point is 00:44:39 Ray, if you'll play the real song for audience again so they can hear what it's supposed to sound like. Itching Nantucket, definitely rocked. Scary, dude. Yeah, scary. I scared me a little bit. And then also, lunchbox committed to a crime in the middle of the song and then apologize for the crime. And I'm not sure if statute of limitations is over or not or... I think it's 25 years.
Starting point is 00:44:59 Abercrombie and Fitzger's going to be knocking on the door later. And his buddy used to manage it and he did finger quotes unmanage it because he knew his buddy was stealing. But he also said his name too, which is... Aaron. He played Aaron in the song. But I'm sure. This is Aaron's safe too because of the time. I don't know about that.
Starting point is 00:45:12 They can't prosecute. All right, next up, our second performer in one-hit wonder, blind karaoke is, da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da. Amy! Your last showing, the game was not good. That hasn't been good any time. Was there a song you'd prefer? No.
Starting point is 00:45:31 Okay, here we go. Let's spin the winner! Amy! Come on now. you get, I'm gonna be 500 miles. I would walk, Ray, would you play that for our audience, please?
Starting point is 00:45:45 This is a little song by the Proclaimers. I would walk 500 miles. Oh, I know this one. Don't too late. Dang. Can you hear us? Oh, yeah, I feel like
Starting point is 00:45:57 back in the day we did this song, like as a show, remember? Okay. Like 2007? Let's hear you rip it up. Let's see if I remember it. Come on. Here is Amy.
Starting point is 00:46:05 Blind karaoke doing the Proclaimers. 500 miles. Tell me when to start or no Oh, when I wake up I know I'm gonna be I'm gonna be the one that's walking towards you And when I wake up I know I'm gonna be
Starting point is 00:46:24 I'm gonna be the one that's marching toward you Because I would walk 500 miles And I would walk 5,000 more Just to be the man who walked 500 miles to show up at your door do-da-do do do-do-do-do-d-do do-d-do do and I would walk
Starting point is 00:46:50 5,000 miles and I would walk 500 more just to be the man that showed up at your door when you thought I was no more. There's you, there's you, that's you. Okay, okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:47:06 Wrap the mic. My favorite part of that was lunchbox being offended when Amy missed words. Amy missed a couple words. He was like, can you believe it? Hey, I mean, she would, it was amazing. No, no, no, can I tell you something?
Starting point is 00:47:17 She went from, I would walk 5,000 miles, and the next line was I'd walk 500 miles to be the guy that walked 500. No, it's 500, 500. You can't tell somebody they messed up words. You didn't get one single word. No, I said Summer Girls. And Abercrombie and Fitch.
Starting point is 00:47:29 Amy, I thought you did pretty good there. And I marched. Yeah, you did. You did march. And right out of the camera. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:37 I mean, I didn't see her for like five seconds. Oh, yeah. But I thought it's pretty good, actually. I thought it's pretty good. The passion was there. You knew some of the words. Good job, Amy. You did really well.
Starting point is 00:47:45 Amy. Judge, write her score down, please. Not as well as me, but you did well. Oh, we have two performers left. Eddie, our defending champion. I'm a little nervous. And Abby, our professional. Singer.

Starting point is 00:50:59 And you got like three words And you didn't dance Man that's tough You didn't dance anything That's tough because my mind Was focusing on the lyrics I didn't know How do you feel about that? No terrible
Starting point is 00:51:07 Okay Terrible Up next Dang it Abby this is going to be be a good exercise for you as you pursue your career and singing, just because you don't know the word, you got to keep going. Right.
Starting point is 00:51:17 Right? Because we had this issue when you were singing on Broadway. Yeah. You just keep going. It's just practice. It just rolling with it. The wills, one hit wonders. Abby, how'd you feel Eddie did? I thought he did good. Yeah? Yeah. Oh, stupid. I like, oh. Oh. So dumb. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:51:33 I thought it was right. I was supposed to do way better than that. Oh, okay. Yeah. We agree. Eddie's defending champion. Abby, are you ready? I'm ready, I think. Here she is. Our phones. screener slash segment producer slash all around good vibe slash glue guy definitely a glue guy
Starting point is 00:51:48 glue girl Abby hey okay let's spin that win give her one with vocal range please come on I can't see it I can't see it Abby you have tub thumping from Chumbabamba
Starting point is 00:52:05 yes okay let's play it for audience please Is that bad words in it? I would just say wishing Wish, okay I think that's what they said in radio. Everybody. Hey, everybody. Oh, I can hear.
Starting point is 00:52:24 Dang it. Can I start over? I get knocked down. We'll get a note. We'll get to deduct one point from a- Let's score her. That's like a foul. I'm not too excited.
Starting point is 00:52:34 Let's score her normally. But we will deduct one point from her from her score after we score her normally. Abby, that's bad. We're only letting you do it twice because you're, I don't know, we like you. Let's be honest. You're just so dang likable.
Starting point is 00:52:47 Okay. are you ready abby hey everybody i'm over here singing yeah oh dang it i get knocked down but i get up again you're never gonna bring me down i get knocked down but i get up again you're never gonna bring me down lunchbox i get knocked down but i get up again you're never gonna bring me down i get locked down but i get up again you're never going to bring me down All right. Wishing the night away. She takes a whiskey drink.
Starting point is 00:53:27 She takes a lots of drink. She takes a cider drink. She takes a beer drink. She takes songs that are a member of the best times and the songs that reminder of the worst times. Oh, Danny boy. Danny boy. Danny boy.
Starting point is 00:53:44 I get knocked down, but I get up again. You're never going to bring me down. I get knocked down. But I get up again You're never gonna bring me down I get knocked down But I get up again You're never gonna bring me down
Starting point is 00:53:58 I get knocked down But I get up again You're never gonna bring me down She is Abby Wow She dominated Have you seen Dominated what?
Starting point is 00:54:08 That was so good Wow wow Wow So I need to judge us to Write their scores down Remember whatever you give Abby naturally deduct a point from it Okay
Starting point is 00:54:18 Give her a score. It's not going to matter. It is going to matter because, yeah, she was bad. Okay, I didn't say anything after her as Lunchbox. Then deduct. I'm just saying. Okay. It wasn't a dance competition.
Starting point is 00:54:29 First off. It was good. Lunchbox has some pretty high scores. I agree. Lunchbox, total score of 16. Woo! That's how you bring it, guys. That's how you bring it.
Starting point is 00:54:42 That means you average over a five. That's right. And guess what? I'm the leader in the clubhouse. That is good. Well, you're the first one. Yours was entertaining. Amy with your confession.
Starting point is 00:54:51 16. Whoa! Amy! What's up? We're going to have to have a sing off. You're not even through Eddie yet. No, mine's not close to 16. No, it's not.
Starting point is 00:55:01 Eddie. I did have a good start, though. I just didn't know the rest of the lyrics. Eddie. 13. Yeah, terrible. Man, how's that seller, man? I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:55:11 How's that seller? Wow. What does it even mean? That means the bottom. Like, whoo, basement. Cellar? Abby got one really high score. From who?
Starting point is 00:55:22 She got one mid score and one really low score. Oh, dang. Oh, wow. They don't say who scores. We don't say who. So Amy and Lunchbox are tied to 16. Yeah. Eddie, really poor performance with 13.
Starting point is 00:55:34 I know. Probably the easiest song. Oh, you guys can do all of... I could do Summer Girls. I could do Vanilla Ice, whatever you want. Oh, look at you. Yeah, he probably could. I don't get back.
Starting point is 00:55:42 I don't know if I can do Summer Girls. If you want, I can try it on that one. But the winner is! Barbie Girl. Wait, wait. Do the high school. Yeah, he already said the winner. No, he said the winner.
Starting point is 00:55:51 The winner is! Yeah! With 17 points, Abby. Oh, wow. Oh, man. Since the first time to ever play a game, we gave you a little break there. Yeah. Next time, you'll just have to roll with it.
Starting point is 00:56:05 Okay. That would have been bad. And certain people, I don't want to say who, but Scuba gave you a terrible score. Okay, I figured. Yeah, just terrible. I don't want to put anybody on the bus. Wait, who gave her the mid score? Um, I did.
Starting point is 00:56:16 Okay. Mike, you wait. Thanks, Mike. I thought we were. Boers. I mean, we sit next until it, Mike. All right, that's it.
Starting point is 00:56:23 Let's go, Boas. Come on. Let's go. Let's show off. Well, I don't know if I remember how the words got it. I mean... You think you're so good?
Starting point is 00:56:32 I don't think I'm so good. I shouldn't have said that. I just don't remember how the first... If I can think of the first word, though. Okay, here we go. New kids on the blog had a bunch of hits. Chinese food makes me sick.
Starting point is 00:56:45 And I think it's fly when girls stop by for the summer. For the summer. I like girls that wear Abercrombie and Fitch. I take her if I had one wish. She's been gone since that summer, since that summer. Hip-hop marmalade spick and span. I met you one summer and it all began.
Starting point is 00:57:04 You're the best girl that I ever did see. The great Larry Bird jersey, 33. When you take a sip, you buzz like a hornet. Willie Shakespeare wrote a whole bunch of sonnets. Call me Willie Whistle because I can't speak, baby. Something in your eyes really drove me crate. Okay. I could have done okay.
Starting point is 00:57:21 No, it doesn't. I could have done okay, though. That's all. Abby, you're the champion. Woo! Professional singer, you're on the way. There she is, Abby. And we're back in a second.

Starting point is 01:00:17 The recent drama in this room has been the guys going, well, the girls on the show get really dressed up when there's a hot male artist that comes in. I don't think it's fair, but you guys have said it. But it's true. Have you noticed it, Vince? No. I noticed everyone looks professional when it's time to look professional.
Starting point is 01:00:33 That being said, Morgan has brought up a point. Morgan, go ahead. I don't ever want to hear about my outfits ever again because Lunchbox had this huge audition with a big-time director, right? lifetime-changing role that he said. He shows up that day? He's wearing sweats and a sweatshirt. That's true. Friday, big audition.
Starting point is 01:00:53 Visual, on stage, microphone. He got the job. Got the job. Well, sort of. You got a job. Got a job. Yeah, yeah. You don't really know what it is yet. I'm acting in a play in Las Vegas at the Paris Casino, so what up?
Starting point is 01:01:06 So, she said you... What of? He looked like what? I mean, he looked like a scrub. Okay. That's the best way I can put it. Like, he showed up, and he looked. like he rolled out of bed and did not care about that audition.
Starting point is 01:01:18 No, see, that's where you don't know anything because you're not in the industry. You don't really know anything about acting. When you go audition, no one goes all dressed up. You just go and chill clothes. Like, if you look at reals. That's not true. Oh, it's absolutely true. No, I've auditioned for things many times.
Starting point is 01:01:32 You look at stuff online. People show up and cut off shirts. I mean, you watch So You Think You Can Dance Audition. Well, that's a dancing show. I'm just saying, like, guys, you show up. It's not, you don't come in a suit and tie to an audition. You don't do it. But you try to look the part that you're trying to get.
Starting point is 01:01:48 Yeah, my part was I'm in bed laying in... No, you're reading a scene from the lead. Yeah, you could have been the lead actor. Yes, I understand that, but the scene is like they're in bed talking about bed sheets. I'm sorry, you want me to wear my boxers in here? Maybe, maybe that was... Would that have been better for you, Morgan, number two? You wanted to see me in my boxes?
Starting point is 01:02:03 No, at least some jeans would have been nice. You don't wear jeans to bed. But you didn't know, you weren't doing a bed scene as far as that wasn't your whole thing. I guess it was my satin sheets and my dreams are sparked. Yes, this is what he does. all the time. This is nothing new because even when he meets with executives for our company he's in sweats. And then he goes,
Starting point is 01:02:21 why didn't I get the job? Right. Like, why can't I go host a national album release party? And it's like, bro, you didn't cut your hair or shave or wear clothes, like adult clothes. You don't have to all the time, but when you met with an executive that can make those decisions. Yeah, I didn't. You're right. I mean,
Starting point is 01:02:37 I don't need a dress. It's not a dress rehearsal. It's like, hey, like, be comfortable in what you're wearing and, you know, give me a performance. I'm not looking at clothes. My clothes don't get me the acting gig. My skills do. It did. It did. Your skills got you the game. He must not have that like if you look good, you feel good vibe. Well, he does. Mostly it's like dress for the job you want more than that. It's like you should look like what you want them to put you in. And that's why I think you don't get the looks from this
Starting point is 01:03:03 company to do some of the national stuff where people who don't know who you are. But on the day of the event, I would dress up nice. Like when we have like events. That's like going, no, I'm in the game, man. I'm going to hit a home run. You know, but you've struck out practice every single time. No, no, in the game, I promise you. I'm going to hit a whole a whole. But you haven't in practice at all, so why should we trust you in the game? You know what I mean? I'm on your team. I'm just saying she has a point. Like a wedding comes around. I don't go in sweats. I'm dress up. I mean, that's what you do. Yeah, cool. Thank you, Morgan. You get to say your point and you did. Lunchbox, thank you. Yeah, thank you for hating on me,
Starting point is 01:03:34 but hey, you want to come see my show in Vegas? You can. Oh, it's your show now. Do you think they're going to put you on the marquee? Heck yes, they are. Do you know what his role is yet, scuba? Have we revealed or do you even know? So that's what the director is working on. I think based on his audition, they're crafting a different part than what they're initially. Boom. Oh, wow. I don't know if it's a good thing though.
Starting point is 01:03:54 What do you mean? I don't know that that's good. They saw what I had. They're like, we have to have this guy in the show. We're going to craft something for him. No, they're like, okay, we feel bad for this guy so we'll just price with you in a little. When do you think we'll find out, scuba, what is going to be? I think it'll probably be early next week. We'll have an idea, yeah. Nice.
Starting point is 01:04:10 Okay. Love it. All right, let's do the news. Here we go. Bobby's Big Stories From WREG Memphis If you leave stuff in your car Even if your windows are tinted Now what people are doing That want to break into cars
Starting point is 01:04:22 Is you can take the camera of the phone And shine the light on it And you can see through the tent Because that actually is able to get through It doesn't matter how dark it is So what they do is they look in the back windshield Even if it's dark And they can see what's in there
Starting point is 01:04:35 So they say cover it up Put it in the trunk Don't put it where you can just see it In a seat or in the floorboard And so this is happening a lot in a lot of cities But one of the new things they're doing is taking a cell phone Put it in camera mode When you go up to the window you can see in the car
Starting point is 01:04:50 Oh So that's how they're doing that Well things you may not know about flying You know most of us have flown And some of us hate it and are scared of it That's me People who work in aviation know that one There is no row 13 on an airplane
Starting point is 01:05:03 There isn't Never noticed that? I don't know that I have either I know there's not 13 in a lot of hotels Yeah the elevator But 14 is then 13. Right. But the elevator's missing the number. Yeah, but row 14 in an airplanes, row 13, if there's no 13.
Starting point is 01:05:18 It's just the label wrong. Staying hydrated is important. In a three-hour flight, the body can lose 1.5 liters of water. Whoa! I read a doctor once who said, if you're going to fly three hours, you need to drink three bottles of water. For every hour you're in the air, you need to drink a bottle of water. That's incredible. Just to maintain, just to be even.
Starting point is 01:05:36 You can't lock yourself in a bathroom. There's a hidden button to the bathroom that allows a flight crew to enter. in case they think you're up to something in there. Interesting. Smoking, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing. Uh-huh. Or dead. Boom.
Starting point is 01:05:48 There you go. Tomato juice is the second most requested drink by passengers. Number one is. Beer. Water. Yeah, water. Moderate turbulence can move the airplane, 10 to 20 feet. And at any given time, there's about 10,000 planes in the air.
Starting point is 01:06:04 Oh, yeah. That's scary. Which is great. That's from simple flying. Half a parent use technology to track their kids. Amy, do you track your kids? Well, we have something called the Life 360 app, so yes. And, I mean, I can always find where her phone is.
Starting point is 01:06:18 My daughter, because she has the iPhone and the app. So in a way, yes, but it's not a trust thing. I trust her. I was texting with this year over the weekend. Really? Last weekend, yeah. Oh. And so she had texted.
Starting point is 01:06:28 And she goes, how are you doing? And I saw it. And I was like, why does it? So I text. I was like, hey, see you text. Caitlin. You asked me how I'm doing. She's like, I didn't have your new number.
Starting point is 01:06:37 I was like, oh, yeah, I forgot I got two phones. Two phones. Oh. And I got. So asked her about school, asked her about high school. She said it's both, you want to hear our conversation? Oh, yeah. It's nothing super personal or I wouldn't share it.
Starting point is 01:06:49 I said, hey, how you doing? Why don't you ever say hi to me and only Caitlin? She goes, hey, I'm doing good. I didn't text you because I didn't have your new phone number. How are you doing? I said, great, how's school? How's high school? Is it awesome or weird?
Starting point is 01:06:59 It's both awesome and weird. It feels unreal. Say, congrats. Well, see you soon. I'm looking forward to hanging out with you. Aw. That's awesome. Yeah, she writes like a businessman.
Starting point is 01:07:09 Yeah. Like talking to a colleague. So yeah, there was that. And then finally, streaming services save you hours. Why do you think that is, Amy? Saves you hours. Why do streaming services save you hours? I can't imagine because I feel like it takes a lot of my hours
Starting point is 01:07:25 because I have everything available at my fingertips. A normal hour of television has 15 minutes commercials to get through it. If you're watching on a streaming service, that's like a 45-minute show. 15 minutes you didn't spend watching commercials, so you get to go to the next show if you want. So it's mostly you get to watch more quicker. Makes sense. Does that make sense? That's from cordcutting.com.
Starting point is 01:07:47 All right, there you go. That's the news. Those were Bobby's B. Stories. Today, 1977, Elvis Presley died in his bathroom at Graceland in Memphis. 1997, August 16th. He was found unconscious in his mansion, then to the hospital where he's pronounced dead. He was only 42 years old.
Starting point is 01:08:08 Gosh, I didn't know that. I guess I thought he was probably 50 He looked older That's because he went hard Yeah Very hard for a long time So Elvis died today Top three streamed songs from Elvis
Starting point is 01:08:20 Number three, suspicious minds Number two, jailhouse rock Any guess on what the number one Most Dreamed Elvis song is? Yeah, I do Can't help falling in love That he was right Let's go
Starting point is 01:08:40 I don't know that I would have guessed that's good Falling in love. Five things you may not know about Elvis. Number one. Elvis had a twin. I did not know that. A twin brother. Whoa.
Starting point is 01:08:52 On January 8th, 1935, Elvis Aaron Presley was born at his parents two-room house in Tupelo, Mississippi, about 35 minutes after his identical twin brother, Jesse Garon, who was still born. The next day, Jesse was buried in an unmarked grave. Got it. He had a twin upon birth.
Starting point is 01:09:10 Wow. Number two, he grew up dirt, and his dad went to prison. Did you know that? No. Okay, so far we're two for two and things you didn't know. I like what we're going here.
Starting point is 01:09:19 Elvis, who always spoke of his twin, is pretty much his whole life, grew up an only child in a poor family. His father worked a series of odd jobs and he went to prison for three years for forging a $4 check. Wow. Yeah, that's tough.
Starting point is 01:09:35 He ended up spending less than three years there, but that was his sentence, but for forging a $4 check. That's why I went in. Number three, Elvis, failed music class. Couldn't even pass that. 1948, they moved from Tupelo to Memphis.
Starting point is 01:09:51 He went to a school called Hume's High School. He failed music class and was considered quiet and an outsider. He was the first person in his family to get a high school diploma. He worked at a machina shop. He drove a truck. And then he recorded this song right here. Number four, Elvis bought Grace Land when he was 22. Oh, that's nuts.
Starting point is 01:10:14 In 1957, he spent $102,000 for Graceland, the Memphis Mansion, and he lived there for two decades until he died. 14 acres, but again, 22 years old. He bought that massive place. He was killing it. What age did he, you know, make it? I would say around there. 21, 22.
Starting point is 01:10:33 Yeah. Wow. And then finally, Elvis never performed outside of North America. Yeah. Ever. Oh. An estimated 40% of Elvis's music sales. or outside of the United States, but he never performed on foreign soil.
Starting point is 01:10:45 A number of sources suggested that Elvis manager, Colonel Parker, turned down big offers because he, Colonel Parker, was an undocumented immigrant and feared he would not be able to come back to the United States. So he didn't let Elvis go either. Yeah, in the movie, he says he really wanted to play in other countries, and they just wouldn't let him. Elvis is both in the Rock and Country Hall of Fame, which is a little fun one. But how about that? Do you know any of those? I knew the rock and country
Starting point is 01:11:12 That was a fun one though The five though I got you with the five You been elvisized That's not a term No I never heard that I just tried it It didn't work that well This story bone show
Starting point is 01:11:23 This story up the day This story comes us from Salt Lake City Utah A man was out for a walk Do do do do do And he comes up And there's an excavator at a work site And it's running He's like huh
Starting point is 01:11:36 Jump's in it Drives it down to the local grocery store and just starts digging up the parking lot. I'm jealous of whatever this guy has in him that would him go, well that looks fun, let's do it. Now, not specifically this because what he did was illegal
Starting point is 01:11:55 and is now going, he's going to be in trouble, maybe serve a little bit of time or money, fine. But the ability to go, I see it, it looks fun. Caution, go to the wind. I'm going to go do it. That sounds fun. Yeah, not a lot of people have that. Yeah, he broke a water line and he ripped out
Starting point is 01:12:11 new utility lines. See, I just want to have fun. I just want to have fun. Don't they have adult parks like this where you can go? Oh, in Vegas they do? They have like one, yeah. When I tested in high school, I tested, you know, for career-wise what you should do. It said operate heavy machinery.
Starting point is 01:12:26 Which is weird because I wouldn't want you operating heavy machinery. And I know maybe based on what your interests were or the things that fulfilled you. Probably got bored during the test and just started bubbling things. I don't really want you to have heavy machinery. Right. No, I didn't go that route. Don't worry. Yeah, yeah.
