Starting point is 00:03:07 This is What's the Haps. Hey. What's the hat? All right, Amy, what's happening with you? Well, I finally feel back to normal after about food poisoning. What would happen? It was horrible. We went out to eat and I got a salmon salad and I can never have salmon again, ever.
Starting point is 00:03:24 It does that. No, I'm done. It ruins it. It's ruined, done. Because your whole association with it is just a few vomiting. Yeah, the whole restaurant now. And we eat there often. And I'm kind of done with the, I can't even.
Starting point is 00:03:34 I'll tell you a restaurant. It wasn't Sonic. Sonic rocks. That's true. That ain't happening. It's Sonic. That's for sure. It was awful.
Starting point is 00:03:42 Like I wanted to die back. How long until it hit you that something was going on? It hit me in my sleep. So we had had dinner. But I mean, today's the first day where I'm sort of feeling back to normal because I was dehydrated and weak yesterday. But then today I'm like back. But yeah, Saturday night, awful, awful.
Starting point is 00:03:59 I kind of was dreaming that I felt sick. And then I woke up for my dream and I was like, this is real. I'm sick. So then probably from like 2 a.m. to like 1, 2 p.m. the next day just. brutal. How many holes? And then one or two?
Starting point is 00:04:13 Multiple holes? Multiple orpuses. Yeah, that's tough. And I don't even like saying that, but I know that everybody goes through it and just know that I feel you and now I know I've never had it this bad ever and I know that I'm a horrible sick person. I think you've run salmon for me too now. Okay, me too then. I'm such a horrible sick person
Starting point is 00:04:29 that now I know, like if I were to get real sick I'd probably just tap out. Just die? Yeah. I mean, I don't handle it well. I want to know after the segment's over where you went. Okay. Have I ever been there?
Starting point is 00:04:42 Yes. Hey, it ain't Sonic though. Uh-uh. That's right. No way. That's right. Hey. Hey, what's the hat?
Starting point is 00:04:51 I'm going to tell you guys this story. So over the weekend, we were going to be gone this weekend. We decided the last minute to stay home. And so stayed home. We woke up on Saturday, and Matt Carney was playing a show in town. Matt Carney played at, well, when Caitlin and I, she said when she knew she loved me, we were at a Matt Carney concert in Oklahoma City, and then Matt Carney played at our engagement
Starting point is 00:05:13 or when I proposed to her. And so here's a clip of Matt Carney, nothing left to lose. So he's an amazing artist, and we're like, why don't we just go to that show tonight since we're here? And since it's an in-town show, it's tough to hit up somebody that's having a show in town because it's a home show and they have like a guest list of like 60 people and they're having to, you know, do a lot of entertaining before they entertain.
Starting point is 00:05:38 And so I was like, well, just get online and buy some tickets. So I get on. I can't find any on the floor together. And I was like, okay, here's some. And I buy them on stub hub, boop, click, got them. The person emails me to hear your tickets. And now you just, you know, scan them at the window on your phone. So we go, and it says section X on the thing. And we went by to CMAP before the show.
Starting point is 00:05:57 He was on his bus. And we went by and we're hanging out for a little bit. He goes, I don't know if there's a section X. I think you guys got scammed. And I was like, us too. Do we just pay for these tickets and we're getting scammed? And he's like, if section X doesn't work, just text me. and I'll make sure you guys have a seat somewhere in there.
Starting point is 00:06:11 I was like, great. So we go, and they beat, beep, you're saying, walk in. And I guess they're good tickets, and they keep walking us in. And we're going, I was like, wow, this is pretty good. We're, like, up in the front half of the auditorium, closer. They put us in chairs where your knees are literally touching the stage. They're not seats built in the place. They're like extra chairs they put in because it was sold out.
Starting point is 00:06:32 Extra. X. Way too close. Extra. I love seats up front. But we are so close. Again, I could take my finger and touch the speaker like this. Just touch it with my pointer finger.
Starting point is 00:06:43 Right there on the front of the stage. I'm looking and I can look down and see the set list below his feet. So we're so close. And before he comes out, I've got to tell him to watch out for us when he can. Because he's going to be like, what has happened? So I text and I go, hey, dude, don't spit. And he walks out and it's hard for him to even see us because he has to look straight down. So awkward.
Starting point is 00:07:02 Awesome. Our ears hurt. We were a little too close to the speaker, but so awkward. I looked at his, and it's weird because I don't want to look up and make eye contact with them the whole time because I'm so close. So I watched his shoes and his knees for most of the show. And then it was an excellent show, but just way too
Starting point is 00:07:17 close. Which, by the way, front row seats, overrated in general. You want to be about a third of the way back in the middle-ish for like the perfect seat. But great show. Just X meant extra close. That's crazy. Yeah, that's crazy. It's weird. You don't want to be
Starting point is 00:07:32 extra close. So that's my story. Hey. Hey, what's the hat? Lunchbox, what's happened with you? Oh, stupid dog got me again, guys. I was going to Florida this past weekend. I go to the airport on Friday, get there, get on the plane, and we sit there. And we sit there for like an hour.
Starting point is 00:07:51 And they finally come on the intercom like, oh, yeah, this is up front and just letting you know that the pilot had to leave. And so we were trying to find someone to fly the plane. Probably had dinner where Amy had dinner. Whoa. And I said, salmon, food poisoning. Huh, we don't have a pilot to fly the plane. He had to be taken off the plane.
Starting point is 00:08:08 plane. So A, was he drunk? And they don't think that's what you go to. What else could it be? Food poisoning. Overflown too many hours? No show. So the whole other crew isn't overflown. Sometimes they reconbond. I don't know. I don't think drunk is there. Well, that's immediately what I thought. So we sit there for an hour on the plane. Hour and 20 minutes, they're finally like, okay, we're going to get off the plane and we're
Starting point is 00:08:31 going to wait. So we get off the plane, sit in the little lobby area for 30 minutes and they go with the loudspeaker. Your flight has been canceled. We have. have no pilot. Boom. Flight canceled. So what happened? So I had to fly the next day. So I didn't fly out until Saturday and come back on Sunday.
Starting point is 00:08:48 So I was there for 27 hours. Oh, what a vacation. And you think the doll did that? I mean, why else would it happen? Nothing like this happens to me in my regular life. This dog comes along and everything bad happens to me. For those that are new to the show, lunchbox had to hunt a doll for a week.
Starting point is 00:09:05 He kept it. He dared the dog to curse him for 30 days. And it looks like that curse is continuing on. Oh, you want to talk about it. Or let me throw this at you. Maybe if the pilot was drunk, the fact that he didn't fly was a good thing for you. Oh, way to look at it. But they have two pilots.
Starting point is 00:09:20 I trust the other one. I don't know. It was terrible because you sit on the plane for an hour. That part is. Oh, my goodness. All right. One more. Hey.
Starting point is 00:09:32 What's the hat? Eddie, what's happening in your life? Guys, my wife does something that drives me nuts. And this weekend, we went to the grocery store. store, and she's been doing it for years, but finally I told her you have to stop. I'm over it. But we go shopping, and she gets a bag of chips, and she's hungry. So she opens it before we check out.
Starting point is 00:09:47 I'm like, oh, why do you do this? By the time we get to the checkout, guys, she's eating the entire bag of chips. I'm like, I don't know. Does she pay for it? Well, of course. And who cares? Yeah. But, I mean, can you imagine going to the grocery store and seeing everyone is eating
Starting point is 00:10:00 their food when you get there, just scan the empty bags? Why do they pay for it? Oh, no. I've opened things up and eaten while I'm shopping before? Yeah. And I'll drink. If I'm thirsty, I'll get it. a bottle of water and drink it and they just put the bottle
Starting point is 00:10:10 in the thing and pay for it on the way out. You guys will? Oh no, that'll drive me crazy. I don't think anyone's on your team. What's wrong with this? I don't understand what's wrong with that. I mean, it's not like you have a whole chicken, like a rotisserie chicken like hot. And even then if you pay for it, who cares? I feel like she would do that too. Like you don't take your kids and like open up a snack and let
Starting point is 00:10:26 them eat? No. No. We shop and we pay for everything and then when we get in the car, eat away. Is anyone on Eddie's team here at all? Morgan? Yeah, I would be. I mean, I don't eat anything at the store. I just wait until I get home. But would you be upset that people were eating as long as they paid for it? I mean, if I see one person doing it, no.
Starting point is 00:10:43 But if I do see most people, I'd probably be like, oh, that's a little strange. Guys, this is my wife. And that's why I'm like, I can tell her something. Hey, let's not do that. It just, it's weird to me. It's not weird. Ray, yeah, I suck down a protein shake
Starting point is 00:10:55 every time I go to the grocery store. And I don't even pay for it. All right, we don't side with you. Maybe it's me. Their purpose is to sell product, and as long as they sell product, I don't think they care. How long as you pay for it?
Starting point is 00:11:07 All right. All right, that's what's up. Thank you. What's the haps? Hey, what's the hats? Let's reach into the mailbag. Here we go. You send an email and we read it on the air.
Starting point is 00:11:20 It's something we call Bobby's Mailbag. Yeah. Hello, Bobby Bones. My fiance is a touring musician and I'm having a really hard time figuring out how to be 100% supportive of his career. He toured. We met. Then we went through the pandemic. Then I got used to him being home all the time.
Starting point is 00:11:37 well I want to be a supportive fiance but I'm such a quality time person that's been really hard on me in our relationship I don't want him to quit his passion but he's not around that much how can I be 100% supportive without feeling like I'm sacrificing
Starting point is 00:11:53 my happiness for his career any advice is appreciated signed anonymously missing him well first I understand your heart and your heart says you miss him you wish he was around more but first I got to say you kind of knew what you were getting into whenever you met him.
Starting point is 00:12:09 Like he was doing this when you met him. You knew who you were getting with. That is his job. So I think to ask him, hey, I need you to really stay home a lot more. That's a tough one. That's a tough ask. I think had it happened while you were together where he goes, I want to get out on the road and live out my touring days.
Starting point is 00:12:28 That's a different conversation altogether. For me, I have made some sacrifices. So has Caitlin. where I don't go on the road as much and shoot TV shows or tour. And then when I do, she goes on the road with me because we both can actually kind of do that. You know, she can go out a little bit. I can stay home a little bit more.
Starting point is 00:12:52 And that has been a compromise. But if this is his job where he's got to go out and this is how he makes his living, that's hard. I think maybe you think about, hey, how can we probably scale this down in five years or so? Like, what can we figure out so you can kind of do this in town? you're playing in studio sessions. But I think just generally, it's how do you deal with someone who's gone who travels a lot?
Starting point is 00:13:09 It doesn't have to be a musician. Amy, I know when your husband was in the military, this was a thing for you where you couldn't tell him not to travel. I mean, yeah, you have no choice. Like deployments happen and sometimes they happen on a whim. You have no idea. How did you deal with it emotionally? I think, well, I knew getting into it that he was, this was his job.
Starting point is 00:13:26 So I just had to not put that pressure on him in any way or make him feel bad because he was out doing what he needed to do, especially his job is dangerous. so I didn't want to stress him out. So when I would talk to him, I was always tried to stay super supportive and just found a community of my own, found other wives and friends that were in similar situations.
Starting point is 00:13:46 And then I would vent more to them. That way I wasn't venting to him because, again, he did not have a choice. So find a community. If you push him to get off the road, it's going to push him to stay on the road. So my encouragement to you is be super supportive, but also say, hey, let's set a long-term goal
Starting point is 00:14:04 because we have kids that's going to be hard for you to be away so long because that's the thing. And then also, what is what you can say to him? What can I do to make your life easier and you help me in this part
Starting point is 00:14:14 and you stay home a little more? Like we can figure out of wait for both of us. Because it's not so bad if someone offers you something when asking for something. When somebody tries to take something from me, that's tough because you're like,
Starting point is 00:14:22 wait, what's happening here? Taking my life. But if you go, hey, I would like to offer this up if you can do this, it's a lot easier to swallow as that pill. So it's a tough situation. Talk long-term goals.
Starting point is 00:14:32 Be supportive and offer something in exchange for him offering something back. That's what I would say. And then just get, hey, just get used to the life at home. Or go on the road. Learn how to do front of house. Learn how to do sound.
Starting point is 00:14:45 Get a job with them. Yeah, there you go. Thank you for the email. That is tough. That is a tough situation for anyone that has a partner that travels a whole lot. I think a lot of people relate. And good luck. And thank you for emailing.
Starting point is 00:14:54 All right, that's the mailback. We've got your email and we've read it on the air. Now it's about the close Bobby's mailback. Fair Harbor makes the world's most comfortable beachwear. They've replaced mesh lining with their incredibly soft, breeze-knit, boxer brief liner. Go to fair harborclothing.com. Use the promo code, Comfort 22, for 20% off, and say goodbye to mesh lining forever. Lunchbox went to Florida over the weekend.
Starting point is 00:15:22 What was going on? My wife went down there with her in-laws earlier in the week, and so I was just going down there to spend the weekend with them. So you go, you want to let the people that are flying the airplane know what? I want to let the stewardess or flight attendant, whatever you call them, know that, hey, if someone gets out of control, I'm your guy. We've talked about this a few times, and we've even seen TikTok videos where if you're boarding a plane, they say flight attendants or checking out passengers. And those passengers, they're looking at them to see if they're physically fit enough to take down somebody who's causing trouble. And you wanted them to look at you. I wanted them to look at me and say, hey, you're fit enough and just give me a signal.
Starting point is 00:15:59 And I wanted to make sure she knew the signal so that way I wouldn't miss it. interpret. You know, like if she just rubbed her nose, I'm like, oh, that's a go. You attack somebody. Yeah, she's bitching. Right. That's why we had to come up with a signal for her to give me so I could go at it. So you have the entire conversation of you talking to the flight attendant about what the signal is? You know, she's, yeah, she's welcome you on the plane. Hi, welcome
Starting point is 00:16:19 aboard. And then that's when I hit her with the, hey, let's go. Okay, here we go. How's going? How's going to you? Good, good. Now, if any of these people get unruly, just let me know. Let me know. You're going to take care of me for me? I will, because I will, because I know, because I know you always check and see like, oh, who can help me? Look at me. I can help you.
Starting point is 00:16:36 Okay? Give me the signal. Tap your head three times and I'll tackle them. And I'll tackle it. All right. All right. Got it covered. I feel like she was mocking you a little bit.
Starting point is 00:16:46 She laughed really hard and then she kept going like, okay, then I'll turn around three times. Funny guy. No, no, no. I think she was like, okay, she was trying to make a joke of it around the other passengers to maybe make them feel comfortable. But I think her eyes were telling me like you're the guy. You look like you can do some damage. I didn't hear that.
Starting point is 00:17:02 I heard her mouth telling you. She's like, okay. No, no, she said she would tap her head three times. Yeah, anything happened on the plane? No, no. Anything was cool, calm, collective? Because I think the other, you know, passengers heard me. And they're like, wow, we don't want to get on the bad side of this guy.
Starting point is 00:17:17 So. What were you wearing? I was wearing a tight t-shirt or something to show off the goods. I was wearing a shirt, just a t-shirt and some, like, jogger pants. In case you had to move quick. Yes, that way, you know, light on my feet. Didn't have a backpack or anything. That way I was quick.
Starting point is 00:17:32 You know what I mean? I just want to hear her laugh one more time. If it's okay with you guys. Yes, please. To see if she was laughing at his suggestion. Or is she, no, no, vote. Is she laughing at me or is she just trying to make the other passengers feel comfortable? And she's saying, yeah, you're on my side.
Starting point is 00:17:44 Good point. Let's hear it. Because I know you always check and see, like, oh, who can help me? Look at me. I can help you. Okay? Give me the signal. Tap your head three times and I'll tackle.
Starting point is 00:17:54 I feel like when he said, look at me. That's when the hard laugh came out. Because she looked at him. Yeah, yeah. Let's vote. I feel like she was looking at him and laughing, not taking him seriously. Same. Laughing, big joke to her.
Starting point is 00:18:03 But hey, you offered it. That's right. You know what most people do? They hide in their seat and act like they're asleep. Me, I've let her know ahead of time. Let's go. And she let you know ahead of time, that's a no. That's it.
Starting point is 00:18:15 The latest from Nashville and Hollywood. Morgan No. 2's 32nd Skinny. Darius Rucker announced a summer tour. He's bringing several special guests with him for various dates, including Larry Fleet, Kaylee Hammock, Ryan Hurd, James and Rogers, LV. Shane, Teneal Towns, and more. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. Local time. Dirk's Bintley's song Bears on Me featuring Hardy and Breeland just went number one. Dirk's talked about what it means to him to be part of Breelan's first number one song.
Starting point is 00:18:46 It felt good to be part of Breelan's early career right now. He's got so many great things going on and he's just on fire. So many friends in the business and such a talented kid. So they have a chance to be part of his first, a couple first in his career feels pretty good. Miranda Lambert is releasing her new album, Palomino, on April 29th. She shared how she decides the order of songs on an album. Mirror on the saddle, hear my rhinestones rattle catches my ear. And I thought, let's get people in, like, from the first, you know, the first note, the first line of a song, especially the first line of a record.
Starting point is 00:19:20 That's important. You can lose people quick, you know. So I always try to put something that's like I would want somebody to go start. that over. What are we doing here? I'm Morgan number two. That's your skinny. It's time for the good news. With producer Eddie. Tell me something good.
Starting point is 00:19:37 Louise Duncan, she's leaving church. She's talking to her friends outside, and she notices this bird just kind of walking on the sidewalk almost looks like a pet, not really a natural bird that should be in the sky. It's got these like orange, yellow things on the feather. So she calls Animal Control and says, look, I think someone's pets missing. It's over here. It's a bird. So they come, they put it in a box. and then the animal control, they take a picture of it, and they post it on their social media.
Starting point is 00:20:00 Well, hours later, somebody writes in and says, that's our bird. We lost it three years ago. That's our cockatiel. And they said, prove it. And they said, well, it's funny you ask that because when we owned the bird, we taught it how to dance to the Andy Griffith Show.
Starting point is 00:20:14 So here's a clip of the bird actually dancing. Lucky's owners say they taught him how to dance to the theme song from the Andy Griffith Show. So they decided to give it a try. He started whistling that song, and the birds started dancing and bobbing his head. Amazing. Hey, so animal control is like, all right, you got it. Come pick him up. You have proven that you are the owner.
Starting point is 00:20:36 How funny is that? Wow, that's awesome. And that made me smile. Yes. I'm jealous. I'm a grizzled old guy like me smile. Hey, that's what we do here. That's right, Eddie.
Starting point is 00:20:46 That's what we do. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. I will be honest, I do not like going to the grocery store. I mean, I like all the options. but I don't like driving there. I don't like parking. I don't like spending all the money.

Starting point is 00:28:46 because most of us were born in the 80s, she doesn't get them. So we started this little experiment where we make her watch our old shows and old movies, and she tells us if they're any good or not. Seinfeld, you didn't love. No, not very much. Back to the future. Love. Right.
Starting point is 00:29:00 Did you do any other ones? Karate Kid. And? I think that's it. Is it good? Yeah, I really liked it. So she's going to tell us and give us her review of Austin Powers International Manor Mystery. Yes.
Starting point is 00:29:12 Next. Okay. She watched it. She will give us the review and we'll assign another one to her in the next segment. We'll be right back. Starting point is 00:33:20 Bobby. That's BetterHelp. H-E-L-P.com slash Bobby. Betterhelp.com slash Bobby. Morgan, who's our head of our digital social media, any of the stuff on the internet. She was born in 1993, so she hasn't seen a lot of the movies that we've seen from back in our day. So we'll make references and she won't get it. So we kind of started this thing where we make her watch old shows, old movies.
Starting point is 00:33:45 She white Seinfeld, she didn't like it. Back to the Future, loved it. Karate Kid, she really liked it. So the last one we assigned her was Austin Powers, International Man of Mystery. Yeah, baby, yeah! That's all. That's the only clip is that? All right, Morgan, so give us your review. Well, I did watch this all in one sitting, and how I watched it in one sitting, I have absolutely no idea.
Starting point is 00:34:07 This is arguably the stupidest movie I've ever seen. It was really funny back in the day. I mean, listen, I did get some giggles out. I'll admit that. Like, there were moments, but I was laughing because of how stupid it was. It wasn't like, this is funny. he was like, oh my gosh, did that really just happen? When the first one came out, it was a huge deal.
Starting point is 00:34:24 I remember going to Austin Powers 2 and you couldn't get a seat. People were so pumped that a sequel was out. I mean, it took like two weeks to get into watch this movie because everybody wanted to go. Would you be interested in watching Austin Powers 2 if it was up to you? If it was up to me, I would not watch any more Austin Powers. And I'm not going to make you. Yeah, you're out. You can tap out.
Starting point is 00:34:43 But what do you give it? Oh, like one out of five groovy babies. One? Yeah. What did you not like about it? It wasn't that I think I realized that they made it to be stupid and funny. I just couldn't handle it. I was like, I should have been drunk watching this movie.
Starting point is 00:34:59 That's what I felt like the whole time. I shouldn't have been sober. It just didn't feel right. Did anyone not like Austin Powers back in the day? Everybody love it? Love it. It was so good back in the day. Maybe though, when old people go, man, those three stooges, they were hilarious.
Starting point is 00:35:15 Like old people and you're like, that was funny to you? They're just punching each other in the face. We're poking each other's eyes out. Yes, oh, gung, gung, gung. Maybe that's, it's just a generation gap thing. Yeah, it was just too cheesy. Like, I wanted to get into it, and I couldn't. I was like, this is stupid.
Starting point is 00:35:30 It's supposed to be kind of cheesy, though, right? Yeah. Parity of James Bond. We can't fight for it. Okay. It's her opinion. One out of five. You want a serious one or a funny one next?
Starting point is 00:35:40 I got both queued up. Oh, I mean... The serious one's going to be very long. It's going to be very good. The funny one won't be as long. But I also think it's very good. recommend it. I mean, we've done three kind of, at least comedy-ish ones, besides karate kids, so let's do serious. Is two weeks a good enough time for you? Like, if I give you two weeks to watch it,
Starting point is 00:36:00 you know, okay. I can manage that. Then we're going to give you Shawshank Redemption. Oh, you're going to love it. Good one. Eddie's been wanting me to do this for so long. She's going to love it, one of the best movies ever. Not, I have not watched it at all. Yeah, yeah, not just of the last 10 years, or just, I think, one of the best movies ever. Forrest Gump, one of the best movies ever, Shawshank Redemption, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Those are the third. Those are the It's putting to you. So Shawshank Redemption will be your next movie. It is, it's not even that long.
Starting point is 00:36:26 How long is it? Well, back in the day, it was super long at two hours, 22 minutes. But that's like half a Marvel Avengers movie now. Yeah. Well, okay. You'll be watching Shawshank Redemption. Let us know in the next two weeks if you finish it, and we can't wait for your review. I will.
Starting point is 00:36:40 I'm excited. But a little bit we all want to do an impression of loss of power. Yeah, of course. Yeah, baby. Lunchbox? Yeah, baby. Okay. What?
Starting point is 00:36:50 Do it again? Yeah, baby. That's pretty good. It's like Kermit and Austin Powers had a baby. Right. Hold on. Yeah, baby. That's better.
Starting point is 00:37:03 Acting classes paying off. That's true. I don't know why she brings that up today. Really? Speaking of that, later on, somebody else will be cut from the movie roll. So lunchbox was cut yesterday, sadly. Today we'll remove someone else from the mix. because one of you guys are going to get an acting spot on a real-life movie
Starting point is 00:37:22 on a major streaming service with a major actress. On the phone, Erica in North Carolina. Erica, thanks for calling the show. What's going on? Me and my husband have been married 10 years. We're celebrating our tenure anniversary next month. We are doing a vow renewal. Basically, we knew each other six weeks before we got married.
Starting point is 00:37:45 He was my best friend sister at the time, and it kind of just happened. But again, we've been married 10 years now, so it worked out, three kids, three dogs later. We are trying to decide on a vow renewal song. So we didn't get the original wedding in the beginning. We actually got married in the basement of an apartment complex. And we are during our valv renewal, and we are struggling. I got you. I got the song for you. I'm glad you called. I've got the perfect song. Which, by the way, I think he is probably your best friend's brother, not sister. Just making sure.
Starting point is 00:38:24 Yes. That is correct, yeah. Okay, good. So, on yesterday's show, we had Ben Rector in. He has a song I love so much. It's called Steady Love. And it's about, like, having that steady love is like the greatest thing ever. It's not when you meet someone and fireworks are going off and who knows how that'll work out. But it's like the real stuff that lasts for a long time. Here's a clip of that song. And I think that's probably what you guys have. It's very steady love. And it's the greatest thing. And I would encourage you to check that song out because it sounds like that's what it is.
Starting point is 00:39:10 And congratulations on having a wedding, but mostly congratulations on being together that long. That's pretty cool. Thank you. So there's my recommendation. Steady Love by Ben Rector. And if that doesn't work, obviously genuine pony. You have two options there. But check out Ben Rector, Steady Love.
Starting point is 00:39:29 That sounds like the perfect story and song for you guys. And hey, thanks for calling. Hope it's awesome. Thank you. Have a great day. All right. See you later. Introducing the first ever Hyundai Ionic 5.
Starting point is 00:39:41 This thing has all the tech you would ever want. It's fully electric inside and out. Your journey at its most evolved. The Hyundai Ionic 5, extremely limited availability. Available in select states only. Contact your Hyundai dealer for availability to tell. Here's Amy's pile of stories. to a recent survey, 68%
Starting point is 00:40:01 of people think that an artist's work can be separated from the artist. Unless it's R. Kelly. Really? It's good point. I know, but sometimes I'm like, I believe I can't. I don't. Not anymore. I know. I try not to. Zero. I was talking to Cheryl Crow about this with the latest
Starting point is 00:40:17 Bobbycast, and it's, I guess, up to a point. And then it gets to a point where not anymore. So, like, R. Kelly can't do... What about the Cosby Show? Wait, they don't show it anymore. And also, I don't think I can watch because I would just think about that the whole time. Totally. Now when a Michael Jackson song comes on,
Starting point is 00:40:34 it's different for me. Because sometimes I'll go, you know, it wasn't proven in court. I start to go through my head all that little. You can't even enjoy the music? And I'm like, Jackson 5, totally cool. He was a kid.
Starting point is 00:40:47 But some of the older stuff, I started to go, well, he actually wasn't convicted. He settled. So maybe he didn't do that, but I still think about it. But yeah, it just depends on how severe it is.
Starting point is 00:40:56 This one is for all the women out there or men, if you happen to wear makeup, but your makeup brushes, they might be dirtier than toilets if you're not cleaning them. So make sure you're taking the time to wash them out with soap every once in a while because they took samples from 12 different brushes and 11 of the 12 that were tested were dirtier than, yes, what you could imagine. I understand that people like to go, ah, it's dirtier than a toilet. Toilets aren't really that dirty if you clean it regularly. Think about the rim. Your butt cheeks are on it. Your butt cheeks aren't that dirty, right?
Starting point is 00:41:29 I mean, follow me here. Yeah. Let's say you pee on the rim. Your pee, not that dirty. You go the opposite of pee. Usually, room, down the hole and gone. And then you clean in the next four or five days. So it's a nice headline because we think toilet bathroom grows.
Starting point is 00:41:44 Gross. But toilet, I would imagine sinks in kitchens are far dirtier than toilets and bathrooms. Because I have all the weird food that goes in. So weird. All right. What else? Lainie Wilson won two ACM awards last month. Here's a clip of Lany Wilson for you guys.
Starting point is 00:41:59 Yeah, I know a few things. A man ought to know. And she just sat down with People Magazine and said that it took her a day to actually process what happened. She said that she sat in the bathtub and cried. And it was the biggest moment of her career. And she still gets goosebumps every time she thinks about it. You've also sat in your bathtub and cried. Yes, not for any career highlights.
Starting point is 00:42:19 Oh, yeah. Just like. And you had the water on you. Yeah. I sit in my shower often and like, yes, just have it streamed down on me. But not because you want an ACN? No, what do you do for big career moments? Forget him and move on to the next thing.
Starting point is 00:42:32 You don't even remember him. No, I'm like celebrating. But now all this is going to go away soon, so I got to keep hustling. All right. I'm Amy. That's my file. That was Amy's pile of stories. It's time for the good news. With lunchbox.
Starting point is 00:42:45 Tell me something good. There's this third grader sitting in class and he's trying to open his water bottle and he can't get the cap off, can't get the cap off, so he kind of bites it with his teeth. and squeezes the bottle, and the bottle cap shoots down his throat. Stuck. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:43:03 And he feels himself choking. He's like, uh-oh. And so he gets up, and it's all caught on camera because they have cameras in the classroom. He walks up to the teacher, Miss Jenkins, and he starts, like, he has big eyes, and he's patting, like, pointing at his throat.
Starting point is 00:43:16 She's like, oh, no, gives him the high. I'm like, huah! Huh! Huh! Three hoods. Bottle cap shoots out. I saw the video.
Starting point is 00:43:25 The video is unbelievable. Miss Jenkins didn't skip a beat. She did it right away. So calm, like cool, calm collective, like a cucumber. Last he's there. Wow, he added an extra one. And she said, from the Cumberland. Back in the day when I was a preschool.
Starting point is 00:43:39 In California. She said back in the day when she was a preschool teacher, she had to learn CPR. And it just was, she went into, boom, instinct did it. Boom, took him down to the nurse. He's okay. And yelled Calabunga. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:52 That's crazy. She's cool, cool, calm, collected like a cucumber in California on the Cumberland River. in Calvonga. That's right. I'm surprised I remembered all that, honestly. Yeah, that's pretty good. That's a good one, though.
Starting point is 00:44:03 I mean, the video you watch... Imagine you're the kid, though, and you do... Oh, he had the big eyes and he was just stunned. You're just stunned. Yeah, that sucks. But in the end, it's awesome. Shout out to her. She's courageous.
Starting point is 00:44:15 Yes. And? Cool. Collective. Oh, you already said. Okay. Anyway, all right, that's what it's all about. That was tell me something good.
Starting point is 00:44:24 All right, here's a voicemail we got last night. I was wondering. if there's an update on Eddie letting his kid name himself LeBron. When he adopted his kids, they could change their names. And I was wondering if Eddie actually let him name himself LeBron. Eddie, is your son named LeBron? No, his name is not LeBron. I thought it was funny, though, but we didn't let him do that.
Starting point is 00:44:44 Back in the day, I mean a year or so ago, maybe less than that, he's like, hey, we're adopting our foster kids, and we can change their names. We were going to legally change their last name. So the judge said, hey, if you want to change any of their names, names. You can't. This is the time to do it. So we presented the question to him, let him decide, and he came back like 20 minutes later. Like, Dad, I got one. It's LeBron.
Starting point is 00:45:06 Didn't expect it. So not to get too specific, did you let them pick anything about their names? Yeah, they changed a couple of their names. They did. Okay. Now's their first names. Not going to be specific about it, but yes, they did end up changing some of their name. Little Shaquille. Pretty cool, lady. Let's do
Starting point is 00:45:23 the next one here. Morning a city, y'all. I'm trying to get an update and see if lunchbox's neighbor moved his car yet. If he hasn't moved his car yet, why is lunchbox being a sissy boy in that call the non-emergency number to get the car towed? Okay, let's see if you're a sissy boy. Did he just call me a sissy boy? Why is that so funny? So Lunchbox's neighbor has just left his car in front of lunchbox's house for weeks. Lunchbox knocked on the door and said, hey, move your car.
Starting point is 00:45:52 Well, he said, hey, buddy. I didn't move your car, please. I didn't say it. I can't believe you showed us that audio. Yeah, you played it. I'm just like to, uh, hi. Hey, man, we, are you please? I did not sound like that.
Starting point is 00:46:04 Yeah, you did. Is the car still there? It's still there. Oh, wow. So what's the plan? I don't know. I don't know what to do, because the dude's dodging me. Well, apparently you can call a non-emergency number and get the car towed.
Starting point is 00:46:16 Okay, is that what you guys think I would do or am I a jerk for doing that? Is that what we should do? Like, you know what I'm saying? You guys always tell me, oh, oh, you overreact to everything. You shouldn't do that. I would knock one more time. Because I go there, I see his, leave a note on the door. I see his work truck there. I see the work truck, you know, there and I'm going to knock on the door.
Starting point is 00:46:33 So I know he's inside. Doesn't answer. If it's a broken down car and it's just left on the street and it's in front of your house, I think that it's okay if you call somebody. Okay. I mean, there's going to be no doubt that lunchbox is the one that towed the car for this guy. He's going to know 100% because you've already had that conversation. I would leave a note, one more note, and say, on his door, say, hey, man, I'm trying to knock on door a couple times.
Starting point is 00:46:55 I know you're in there. No, don't say that. I would just say I'm going to have to have a toad if you don't move it. Okay. And then let's go. I don't know. Lunchbox was so nice that one time. I was not nice. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He probably is like, no way my nice neighbor did this. He was so cool. I was
Starting point is 00:47:11 stern. Yeah, the neighbor would be like, yeah, he was scared of me. There's no way. I was not. All right, here is Carson from Georgetown, Texas. One more. Good morning studio. Me and my dad have a morning corny for Amy. What's the most extreme? way to camp. I don't know. What? Intense.
Starting point is 00:47:27 Oh, ha, ha, ha. Very funny. Love the show. Thanks. Rad-a-tat-tat. Hello. A little act there. I like that. You guys can leave a voicemail anytime. 877-77 Bobby. The morning corny. I turned down a job where I would be paid in vegetables. Oh, yeah? Yeah, the celery was unacceptable. So you got to find the celery, the salary. That was the morning corny. There's a movie role that has come to me and they said, hey, this is a role and we want this specific person to fill it.
Starting point is 00:48:06 It's not me. They asked for one of you specifically. And lunchbox was eliminated yesterday and he's still not over it. Yeah, I mean, I'm going to tell you what. It's going to be a stupid role. Would you have liked me to have kept you in the whole time and like giving you joy and hope for four days and then crushed you at the end, or just told you the truth. I don't know what's better.
Starting point is 00:48:28 I mean... I don't either. And we had the meeting. I rarely meet with Scoop, Scoop and Mike and I went to the room. We were like, how do we let lunchbox now? The emotion, it still hurts nonetheless. I had to go home and tell my wife that I didn't get the movie role. But why did you tell her you got it to begin with?
Starting point is 00:48:42 Because I told her that my dreams were coming true and that our move was like get a U-Haul. Like... There are four people left. This is a major... None of them good actors. This is a major streamer. I subscribe to the streaming service and I only have the big ones.
Starting point is 00:49:00 So either Ray, Morgan, or Head of Digital, Eddie, head of video, or Amy, the main co-host, is going to get to act in a national, widely watched. Widely watched. Movie. With a big actress, by the way. I know. I'm picturing Gwyneth Paltrow. It's not her, but it's a big actress.
Starting point is 00:49:28 Julia Roberts. Okay, so I've got to eliminate one of you. But now you realize the movie's not going to be very good, right? Huh? I don't, it hasn't been shot yet. Yeah, but if you pick in one of these four gibronies, it ain't going to be good. Well, I mean, it's probably like eight or nine lines. Yeah, we're not main characters.
Starting point is 00:49:45 Yeah. But it's not going to be believable when I see you guys, if I see you guys on the screen. Oh, wait, that's right. I won't watch, so it didn't matter. Go ahead. Would we have a chance? I thought you weren't going to be here for this segment. I wasn't going to be here. He said he wasn't going to be here for this one. Okay, Eddie what?
Starting point is 00:49:57 Do we get a chance to be nominated for like awards and stuff? Sure, you could be like a best supporting. What? That's what I'm talking about. If you do a good job. I don't know. Okay, here we go. I'll slap you if you're nominated.
Starting point is 00:50:08 I will tell you if you're safe, okay? The first person's safe. Come on. Amy. Oh, go. Okay. It's getting gross. Amy.
Starting point is 00:50:21 I'm sorry. I got it. Okay. Amy, are you happy? I don't know. I'm a little bit. bit. I just feel nervous for everybody. The second
Starting point is 00:50:32 person's safe. Come on. Rip it off just like a band-aid. Ray. Oh. Wow. Let's go, Short King. Short King Spring. Yeah. Ray is our short king. They could use a short guy. Yeah. So,
Starting point is 00:50:51 either Eddie or Morgan you'll be eliminated today. Break a leg, Eddie. Oh, it could be Ray. They could be shooting a middle school moving. He could be a middle school student. Yeah, lunchbox, you were just too big. Yeah, that's what I was too grown. Okay. So, and I know it's going to disappoint one of you two.
Starting point is 00:51:09 And so just know I had nothing to do with them casting this role. I think you're both very talented. Uh-huh. But the person that is eliminated, Morgan, you're eliminated. Wow. That's okay. I'm not going to throw a fit like lunchbox. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:51:32 You don't have to throw a fit. I mean, maybe they're doing Mexican Mr. Clean. I don't know. What is that? He's writing jokes at home insulting everybody. Amy? But what could they be looking for? Hey, do we know the synopsis?
Starting point is 00:52:06 Eddie? Oh, I know what they need. Or Ramundo. Yes. Absent-minded driver crashes into wall. Amy. Oh, I don't know what happened. That's the line?
Starting point is 00:52:16 That's the line. That wall jumped out of nowhere. One of you three will be getting the role. We'll leave the show for basically a week to go acting Hollywood. Wow. Okay? Everybody good? Yeah, we're great.
Starting point is 00:52:30 All right. We'll do it again tomorrow. Okay. Thank you. How did you get a bill? So I get email notifications multiple saying this purchase has been made on Oculus. And at first, I mean, I'm glad I saw the headline because it made me click on it because I just thought, oh, this might be
Starting point is 00:56:24 Oculus scam, whatever. By Oculus is the thing that her kid wears on his eyes. It's VR. Yeah, virtual reality. Yeah, it's like a video game on your head, yeah. Yeah, and so it's owned by Facebook. So it's my account, my Facebook account is what it's linked to, so therefore it's my credit card bill.
Starting point is 00:56:38 And I click this link and I'm like, whoa, man, this has got to be scam. Well, then I see another one. And then I see another one. So I go to my son Stevenson and I say, Stevenson, did you buy some coins in this game? Are you playing this game? He goes, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, but it's not real. It's fake. They are fake coins.
Starting point is 00:56:57 Yeah. But it's real money to buy the fake coins. Oh my God. And I said, hey, buddy, it's not fake. And so far you've spent $200 on these not real coins. And I've got multiple bills. And so now I don't know what to do. I mean, his face dropped and he was mortified.
Starting point is 00:57:15 And he's like, how much is $200? Yeah, no clue. But he could tell that it was a lot and he was in trouble. If anyone out there got an accidental bill from a kid Where they were buying stuff and they didn't know or they did know and didn't think you'd ever see it Call us real quick 877-77 Bobby That's our phone number I bet this is so common
Starting point is 00:57:37 So common Because as a kid you're old enough and smart enough to use it But you're not old enough and smart enough to know What your actions What's happening with your actions And these apps are so easy you just click on something and it charges no big deal Yeah And like everything's
Starting point is 00:57:52 VR. It's not real. Life isn't even real anymore. To my son, everything's just virtual reality. And I'm like, no, that's my real credit card bill that you discharged. And I don't know how you did it. But we got to figure out how to undo it. I used to buy clothes from my basketball
Starting point is 00:58:08 player on 2K on PS5. And they're fake clothes, but it's real money. You got to buy coins. Yeah. For your character? Yeah. But you look good. Yeah, because I really want to get that old school Larry Bird jersey. And that costs like $11.
Starting point is 00:58:22 in real money better get enough coins to buy it because I don't want to walk around not like cool Okay remember how you were going to maybe hire Stevenson to do some work Mm-hmm Now's the time
Starting point is 00:58:33 Oh you're reminding me He needs cash notes He might eat He'll strap, little strap for coins He needs to start paying his back Let's go So, okay I do have some work for him to do
Starting point is 00:58:44 Okay What are you gonna do You're gonna try to call up there today Can you call or do you have to email? I don't know I gotta figure it out I didn't have time to worry about it last night but I'm going to figure out customer service, and hopefully I can't be the only person that this has happened to.
Starting point is 00:58:59 So surely there's something in play where I can chat with someone. You're probably right because a lot of kids are on that. So if there are a lot of kids on something, there are probably a lot of kids doing dumb things, like just clicking it and buying stuff. Oh yeah. When I told my husband that it happened, he was like, oh my gosh, my business partner's son raked up thousands doing it. Really? Yeah. Like I think it was $6,000. I would imagine Amazon also has got to be.
Starting point is 00:59:22 It would be so easy. For sure. You already have an account in the kids. You don't have it locked on an iPad or a phone? Yeah. Yeah, we've had those problems, too, and luckily we got our money back. Laura in Missouri is on the phone. Hi, Laura.
Starting point is 00:59:34 Good morning. Welcome to the Bobby Bone Show. Morning. Morning, team. Morning. You there? Yeah, we're ready for you. Okay.
Starting point is 00:59:47 Yeah, my three-year-old, so it was one tablet. I did not have a password on. It was my mistake. I just didn't think anything about it. So it was connected to my amp. Amazon account and I, my fall, and I happened to look at my online banking and there was $1,300 each 99,99, 13 times from Amazon. Click, click, click. Brutal. Oh, so did you get the money back?
Starting point is 01:00:15 Yeah, so I called and luckily I told them, you know, I was like, this is my three-year-old. It was on this game called Tom Goldgren. and each being a dynamite was worth 100 bucks. But I'm so lucky I got my money back. He's blowing up some crap. Let's talk to Jan, who was in Pittsburgh. Jan, appreciate your call. What happened with you?
Starting point is 01:00:40 Well, I was such a nice mom. I bought my daughter her first Kindle for Christmas, and to set it up, I had to use a credit card. And within a week, she had spent $220 on a game called Subway Surfway. first. That's a good one. Do you know the game? Yeah, of course.
Starting point is 01:00:56 You just run down the subway, you jump back and forth from each cart. How much you're blown on that game? I don't spend any money on those. What was she buying Jan that helped her subway surfing? Some kind of gold coins to buy things like jetpack. I'm not even sure, but I'm doing really well. Yeah, you need a good jet pack. But it's always a coin because that's the general currency.
Starting point is 01:01:18 Yeah, in digital world. The coins are usually slightly different. different. But yeah, it's usually a coin because that's comfortable and familiar everywhere. And you know what it means. You have to buy coins to cash it in. We do it in real life. And then if all the systems use coins, you just understand it. Yeah. So, man, I'm going to have to check out that subway server again. I'm like 150 in debt today at the end of the show. Let me do one more here. Thank you, Jan, for your call. Appreciate you listening at Pittsburgh.
Starting point is 01:01:47 I want to go to Carlos, who is in Oklahoma. Carlos, good morning. Welcome to the show. Morning, morning. How are you guys? Doing pretty good. What happened to you? Man, I had a four-year-old at the time. He seven out. But one that was at work and he just, I started getting all these notifications talking about video games, video games, video games, versus $950 total. $9.50? Is that what you said?
Starting point is 01:02:12 Yeah. So 900. 950. From a four-year-old? Yikes. Yes, sir. Can you trade in a four-year-old? I got home.
Starting point is 01:02:20 I started looking at everything. all kinds of video games in my thing and then he said, well, they're fun. He wasn't lying. He definitely went hard. Has he tried subway surfers, I wonder? That one sound fun too. That one sounds fun too.
Starting point is 01:02:35 I appreciate that call. That is intense. A thousand buck bill. But do you get your money back, Carlos, if that happens? No, I still play those games today. Oh, you play. You just kept on. In a twist, he's now a professional gamer. All right, Carlos, thanks for the call, buddy.
Starting point is 01:02:50 Have a good day. We're next. You guys, I will go. Take care. See you later. Call or email or something and let us know how it turns out. Of course. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:58 Okay. All right, there we go. If you're ready for your next job, trust your local experts at Express Employment Professionals. Express helps more than a half a million people find work each year and never charges a fee. Find a location at ExpressPros.com or download the Express Jobs app. It's time for the good news. Starting point is 01:03:21 So there's this woman named Linda. She lives in Minnesota, and she's lived in the same town for like 20 years. And she volunteers a lot in the town, so the community feels like they know her. They actually call her the mother of the neighborhood. Well, she had some hard times personally, and she did not have the money to pay rent for her place. And she was going to get evicted, but some of the community members were like, hey, we should do something here to make sure she doesn't get evicted. So not only did they just do something to pay her rent, they actually went to an art museum,
Starting point is 01:03:49 they had a fundraiser, and raised a name. enough for her to what it looks like is to put a down payment on a house. Yes. So she's going to have a place to live and possibly have it be her own. And they were like, she's lived here and lived for us for so long. This is what we feel like we should do. Pretty cool story there. That's great.
Starting point is 01:04:07 Maybe they help out with a couple of mortgage payments too. Yeah, sure. Love your neighbor. A few gift cards here and there too. Uber Eats. Eddie gets some good Uber Eats cards. Maybe get a one of those. Why not?
Starting point is 01:04:19 A great story. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. Hello and good morning. It's now time for the most important segment of the day. Let's go. Bobby's Big. Stories.
Starting point is 01:04:34 In the news, a new study finds that hugs and other forms of physical comforting chilled us from the harmful effects of a bad mood. Physical touch does make us happier, especially on hard days. This is from studyfines.org. Most women say they hug someone daily. on the other hand, we're more likely to hug only family members. Let's talk about this. If you're having a bad day, do you like a hug?
Starting point is 01:04:59 Yes. Do you like a shoulder rub? Yes. Shoulder rub? Well, it's like, all right, you can, I don't know. Yeah. I'm just not a physical touch guy. Oh, so you don't, yeah, touch is not your love language.
Starting point is 01:05:11 Yeah, it's not. But when have you ever, do you ever just like really need a hug? No. Never. It's the opposite usually for me. Where it's like the worst it is, I don't want to touch me. Okay. Like, I got my own inside stuff going on, and it's like, I know, just...
Starting point is 01:05:25 Or am I just so... Because it could be that I don't want it because I'm only uncomfortable, because I never had it as a kid. I never developed that. But I will tell Caitlin, I don't want to be touched, and she'd be like, sucks for you because I'm going to hug... You know, she will force it, like hug me, and... So I don't know.
Starting point is 01:05:44 I don't... I say, I don't like it. And I don't think I do, but from her, I think that it's a little different. friends. But yeah, when I'm like, man, the show wasn't that good today on lunchbox my shoulders, it's just weird. No, I don't do that. Never. No, no, no, no. Mathematicians proved the best way to get tangles out of your hair. Ready for this? What do you think the best way is? Well, I know, because I read this and that my mind was blown, though. It's to start brushing at the ends and work your way up. So explain that. Okay, so a lot of times when you're brushing your
Starting point is 01:06:15 hair, you'll start at the scalp and move down. But this is great. You start at the ends. like the very end and start brushing your way up towards the scalp. And they say that you'll have more success that way, getting the tangles out, which I was fascinated by that because I've never done it that way. They created a model that simulated two entwined filaments. I don't know, real smart stuff here. Yeah. And they did it thousands, thousands of times.
Starting point is 01:06:39 And that was the way that worked way more than starting at the top or going right to the knot. Yep. So you could have learned here on this show. You know how we did the segment. What did you learn? Yeah. There you go. Elon Musk says he doesn't own a home.
Starting point is 01:06:51 Says he couch surfs with friends. What? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Elon Musk said, Um, listen, I stay in spare bedrooms. I live on couches. Okay, and I, me here, Bobby, think this is bull crap.
Starting point is 01:07:06 We did some research in my own. He purchased seven homes between December 12th and January 2019th for a total of 102 million bucks. Okay. In 2021, he claimed to live in a house that was worth $50,000. Between June 20th and November, 2021, he sold all seven houses for a total of $10,000. total of $127.9 million. He has a net worth
Starting point is 01:07:25 of $264 billion. So, okay, he's like, I don't have a home. Maybe when he sold all those, it was like a day. I don't know. Did you say that one of those homes was valued at $50,000? He claimed to live in a tiny house, one of those tiny houses. Oh, okay. But people were like taking
Starting point is 01:07:41 pictures going, no, he lives here. I thought he lived in a house like Iron Man. Because, I mean, that's what you pictured? Yeah. I think you just saw Iron Man. But isn't that, like, him? He's Iron Man. Kind of.
Starting point is 01:07:55 Here's what it would be like if Elon Musk bought a home like an average American. Okay? Based on his yearly salary, follow me here. The average yearly salary in America, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, is $53,000 per year. That's average in America, coast to coast. The average home price is $374,000.
Starting point is 01:08:15 So we're going to use that math here to go, Elon and how much a home would cost for him to feel like an average home. American. Okay. Everybody with me? Yes. Based on the numbers, in one year of 2021, he made $121 billion. So based on income proportions, he would need to fill what the average American felt to buy a home worth $17 billion. Oh, my gosh. Does that even exist? That's like a city. That's like an island. Crazy. It's a city with buildings and everything. Wow. Passengers at Boston's Logan International Airport faced confusion, panic and delays on Easter after a suspicious package caused an evacuation.
Starting point is 01:08:51 Everybody was going bat-esque crazy in the airport. This story's from Yahoo News. This suspicious item turned out to be a PlayStation. Oh. Passengers desperately hold plane door closed after it opens mid-flight. On its own? Passengers aboard a plane flying were forced to hold its door closed after it flew open mid-flight and the handrail hit the propeller. No way.
Starting point is 01:09:17 This is from Unilad. The flight was in air when the door opened. opened after one of its support cables broke mid-flight, prompting passengers to run over and desperately hold it shut. The passengers held the door for 20 minutes while the pilot was forced to shut down the left engine after the door's handrail hit the propeller, meaning he had to complete the flight on just one engine. I thought, based on my scientific research, that as soon as the door opened, everybody got sucked out. Yeah. And my scientific research is like a movie or something? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:09:47 I thought when they just sucked everybody out of there. For sure, those oxygen things fall down from the top, right? Probably not. That's a real irony. They never even came down. I don't know, but that would be scary as crap. I didn't even know that was possible. The FDA is investigating Lucky Charms.
Starting point is 01:10:03 Now, we talked about this a week or so ago, and people were like, hey, Lucky Charms, I got sick. I figured there's a small selection of Lucky Charms or somebody in the factory. Probably peed in it or something. Or something got mixed in. Just made people sick. Well, the story's getting a little bigger. from TMC, or excuse me, TMZ, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Monday that the agency is looking into hundreds of reports from people to say they got sick after eating the General Mills product. The FDA says that more than 100 people now have complained, and that's not even counting the more than 3,000 people who went online and said they got sick after eating the cereal.
Starting point is 01:10:39 By the way, in case you forgot, Lucky Charms is magically delicious. It is. So we don't know yet, but it's growing a bit. A lot of people. Yeah, and a lot of people are having to go back. assessed, okay, when did I eat looking charms? And oh, I was sick that day. Because some people are, they're just putting two and two together. You know, Mo's who does news. I don't think that was COVID.
Starting point is 01:10:59 I saw that one of his followers replied, he was like, I allow myself to have lucky charms every Saturday. She's like, it's a treat. And he's like, I started to think I was just like allergic to Saturdays because every Saturday he would get sick. But you wouldn't think that it would be lucky charms. I know. Because they are magically delicious. Yes. That's the news. Thank you. Stories. You can call us if you want. 877-77-77-27-26-229.
Starting point is 01:11:31 I think that's the number. We'd love to have you guys call in. Are we not doing the story I thought we would be doing in the news? Your personal story? I did not put that in the news because I did not think it... I don't put me in the news. Can we do an additional news? No.
Starting point is 01:11:47 No, I don't think so. I'm going to do it. Ray hit. Come on, let's do it. Let's do it. You don't know it, though. What if it's like Stanley the Dog died? I don't know. Amy's smiling real big. I bet it's good. Can I have a clip for the news? Breaking news? Yeah. Go ahead.
Starting point is 01:12:05 The headline is Bobby Bones to receive honorary doctorate degree from the University of Arkansas on May 14th. It's so stupid. Okay. Are you going to read that? I'm going to read it like. Just read it a little. No, I want to read the whole thing. Oh, my good.
Starting point is 01:12:24 Radio and TV personality and two-time New York Times best-selling author Bobby Bones will receive an honorary doctorate degree from the University of Arkansas during the all-university commencement ceremony Sunday, May 14th in Bud Walton Arena. A mountain pine Arkansas native, the media titan started his radio career as a teen in central Arkansas on 105.9, KLAZ. His passion, dedication, and philanthropy to his home state and the University of Arkansas is long chronicled and immensely steadfast. Bones is a benefactor of the Razorback Foundation as a member of the Cardinal and White,
Starting point is 01:12:59 the organization giving an initiative to support student athlete scholarships and other expenses. Additionally, he provides shoes and uniforms to the athletic programs at Mountain Pine High School and also awards annual scholarships to selected students. Boom! Wow. Does it say boom in there? No, I added that. All right.
Starting point is 01:13:19 Let's go. Thank you. Thank you. Okay, do we have to call you a doctor now? Well, I'll tell you what. I can see lunchbox just itching and say something. I will let you say something in the next. I know it hasn't been your last couple of days.
Starting point is 01:13:32 This is, I mean, it just gets worse and worse. Like, everything. This has nothing to do with you. I think he thinks this is the dog. I'm not going to come back. Hold on. We're going to come back. Amy, thank you.
Starting point is 01:13:41 I was not going to bring that up. I probably would have posted it. But I wasn't going to put in the news. Oh, well, I thought it would be in the news. So I had it here just in case. Thank you. Um, yes, I am, yes. We'll talk about it in a second.

We always appreciate you guys calling us because I know it's not easy to call a radio station or a morning show. It's not something that I would naturally do, but I do sometimes.
Starting point is 01:15:06 Sometimes I call Paul Feinbaum. I'm like, I'm just trying to get through. Sometimes I go on as a guest. They'll call and be like, hey, well, you can. But sometimes I'll call and just try to get through the request lines. That's funny. Yeah, because I got something I need to say. So I just appreciate it.
Starting point is 01:15:18 when you guys do that. So Katie, you're on. What would you like to say? Hey, I just wanted to congratulate you on the doctorate. I'm from Vabel Arkansas as well. Well, I live here, and it's just really awesome. I listen to you every morning on my way to work, and it's just really exciting that I'm going to be honored with that, and I just wanted to congratulate you. Thank you. It is exciting for me because I could not afford to go to the University of Arkansas. I had to work. My job was nowhere near that, and so I was not able to go, it would have been, I mean, it has been the dream forever to go to school and graduate from there. I was not able to, again, according to life circumstances, so the fact
Starting point is 01:15:57 that they are recognizing me and I will be speaking at graduation, do a little, do a little something something, say a few words. Pretty cool, you know, so I don't really know what else to say about it because, I don't know, I got to start practicing surgeries, I guess. Yeah. If I'm a doctor. Start with, like, something small. I can do any surgery. Headaches. It's, it's like, when you have this you can do any surgery at all. You don't have to even specialize. Ooh, can you write us prescriptions? Absolutely. What would you like? Give it a shot, Amy. Go to Walgreens.
Starting point is 01:16:27 What would you? Oh, I'm not it yet. When's the ceremony? May 14th. See? Yes, I make jokes, but I'm extremely honored and thank you very much. It is really a life highlight for me. Not so much. The doctorate part, although that is really cool.
Starting point is 01:16:43 But the part that I was not able to afford to go to school there and they're now going, hey, you've done a lot for the state and for the university, and we would like to honor you back. And also, you have to have a certain place in your career that you've hit at the same time. So all that awesome, that's it. Thank you. Well, give lunchbox 30 seconds. He is, it's like his body's breaking out because he's holding it in.
Starting point is 01:17:08 So lunchbox, you have 30 seconds to say whatever you'd like. Y'all probably in about two minutes, but it's an absolute joke. You are at a point in your life where you can afford to. go to the University of Arkansas. So if you want to go and fulfill that dream that you've always had, then go enrolling classes. Go online. They have online courses. Sign up, take a class. Then you can say you went to the University of Arkansas. Instead, you're just being giving a piece of paper for doing nothing for going to the athletic games and going, yay, and wearing an Arkansas shirt on some videos that we shoot here in the studio. It's absolutely stupid. You're getting an honorary doctorate for
Starting point is 01:17:46 somewhere you never went. You never. Did anything. I put me in Tim McGraw's got one. Taylor Swift. Darius? Dumb. South Carolina. Dumb.
Starting point is 01:17:56 Well. You didn't deserve it. You didn't earn it. You didn't do anything. I mean, in the press release, they listed a lot of things that he's done. What? He had a good career? Great.
Starting point is 01:18:08 I've had a good career. Is this so Harvard going to come called? No. That would be cool, though? Hey, would you accept it, though? If Harvard called and they said lunchbox, we'd like to give you an honorary degree in like trying to be on reality shows. Like you represent...
Starting point is 01:18:20 From Harvard? Yeah. I mean, it looks good on the resume, but really? Would you accept it? Probably. Okay. Exactly. You didn't do anything for the University of Arkansas.
Starting point is 01:18:30 It's hilarious. Hilarious. Well, thank you, lunchbox, and I appreciate that. You've gone over your time. Yeah, I mean, just... No, you have gone over your time. Thank you. No, when you get up...
Starting point is 01:18:39 There's no need to pee in my Cheerios. No, I'm not going to pee in your Cheerios. I have a question for you. Okay. When you get up there in front of those students and you say, hey, guys, I want, this is what you need to say in your speech. I never went to the University of Arkansas, but I'm an honorary doctorate.
Starting point is 01:18:52 How do you guys, how many of you guys, does that make mad? And they're all going to raise their hand. If I say, does that make mad? They might take it back for me. I almost said the P word, pee off. But even that wouldn't be proper English. It's an honorary doctorate. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:07 Honorary. No, no. They do that to honor. For what? For what? What did you do? You didn't do anything. You didn't go to that school?
Starting point is 01:19:16 You didn't make a difference. You didn't. go and start a organization on campus and, you know, have an impact on that camp. It says here, Bones is a benefactor of the Razorback Foundation. I don't know what that means, Amy. As a member of the Cardinal and White, the organization giving initiative to support student athlete scholarships and other expenses. He doesn't care about facts, but it doesn't matter.
Starting point is 01:19:37 I'm not defending it. I'm just honored to have it. I let him have his time. And now we'll move off of that. So, the end. Now are you going to hang it up in your house? because if you do that's embarrassing. Absolutely embarrassing.
Starting point is 01:19:50 Do you get like a... Yes, I mean, that's what it is. You get an actual thing. You walk the stage. I could sign my name, Dr. Bobby. The thing is, you're really not... Most people don't like you to do that. But you can.
Starting point is 01:20:03 But you could. Let's go. So anyway, that's the situation. I think lunchbox is still a little triggered from not getting the acting role. It's a combination of both. But I'm very honored. This is really cool.
Starting point is 01:20:17 I'm not going to lie. to you. All right, let's go to, and this is a question that I was thinking, Amy, when you were reading that a second ago. Scott and Pennsylvania is on. Hey, Scott, you have a question for Amy? Yeah, I have a question for Amy. How are y'all doing? We're doing pretty good.
Starting point is 01:20:36 Question for you, or a question for Amy. I was wondering, what's up with the whole, with all the sounds? Like, I was listening to one of the older podcasts, and Amy was reading something and then all I heard was what?
Starting point is 01:20:53 And even during that you would read and you would go he is going to Arkansas Like it Just like a Yeah We all have our own I need to hear it
Starting point is 01:21:04 What you're saying? I need to hear me do it back for me. She's talking about the branglitch She has yeah she probably has braingletches Yeah she tried to say McBoat Right because But I read this perfectly
Starting point is 01:21:15 McDonald's was doing a thing where you could take a boat through in one of these cities. And it's built right on the water and it was called the McBoat, right? So here's Amy. We have a clip of Amy talking about that where you hear this brain glitch happen
Starting point is 01:21:31 on the air. Here you go. Do you care about the list of the shortest female country artists? Are they current? What? That's not the right one. Do you have the boat one? I didn't try and find it. Okay.
Starting point is 01:21:43 Anyway, we all have brain glitches. That was one of them, though. It is what it is. Yes. But honestly, after I read this in my head, I was like, you did a good job. I read that perfectly. You did a good job. We all have our weird
Starting point is 01:21:52 idiosyncrasies when it comes to communication. They didn't put us on the air because we talk good. You know? Yeah. Well, no. Okay. You did great, though. You read that. You read that excellent, Amy. I should give you an honorary doctorate for it. You should. You should get an honorary doctor in reading. Jeez.
Starting point is 01:22:09 Handing them out now. Okay. Let's see. Let me go to Kevin in North Carolina, who is on the show. Kevin, what's happening? Hey, Bobby. Hey, it's a pleasure to speak to you guys, man. I've been trying to call you for probably a couple of months. And usually, you know, I'm on my wife, Haley, are on our way to work, of course, all the time. So we don't have much time to talk.
Starting point is 01:22:30 Sometimes we get a dinner area. But we love you guys. Lunchbox, Amy. You guys are amazing. I think you should go ahead and hang that, you know, that degree up in the office that lunchbox can look at it every day. I put it on my desk. Oh, wow. I tilted.
Starting point is 01:22:43 Oh, my goodness. I appreciate that. Kevin, tell your wife too. We say hello and thank you for listening. Yeah, you're amazing. We appreciate you guys. You ever want to see some good food? Shortstops in Canapolis.
Starting point is 01:22:55 I know y'all from Tennessee. Hold on, say that slower. What's it called? So it's short stops, burgers and shakes, to Canapolis. Canapolis, where? Where is that? And North Carolina. Okay, Kenap.
Starting point is 01:23:06 It's outside of Charlotte. Yep, it's outside of Charlotte. Do you own that place? Well, I'm actually one of the operations managers, so I post all my videos on YouTube, all my cooking videos. So you can go out there and check them out, man. That's some really good food. We do a lot of traveling like cats cleanly cooked.
Starting point is 01:23:21 Well, they should cut this clip. They should give you a raise here, a little national promotion. We like that. Well, appreciate your call. Yes, Amy. Just a fun fact for my family history. My dad was in the restaurant business, and he was part of a shortstop franchise.
Starting point is 01:23:34 Really? Had multiple in Austin. Oh, they're so good. And I used to, that's where, I mean, we'd have lunch and dinner there all the time. A burger document. Might as well. Hand them out.
Starting point is 01:23:43 I like that. All right. Hey, thank you, Kevin. Have a good day, Ellen. Oh, that's awesome. Y'all have an amazing day. Thank you. You too, ma'am. We'll give you an update on the storage unit we're trying to buy. It's this weird to talk about a business I have a lunchbox when he's just insult to me for the past 15 minutes.
Starting point is 01:23:57 Hey, that's weird. Hey, that's business and that's showbiz, baby. You can't get your feelings certain business. That's good. He's got to roll to the next thing. Gotta be real and honest in business. Cut throat. Cut throat.
Starting point is 01:24:07 Okay. Yeah, straight. Straight. Can't take it personal. I only copy him. Amy, you're not that. You're not a part of the team. Well, that's what you always have to tell me.
Starting point is 01:24:15 Don't take it personally. You're not in this business. You're not in this business. Not this business. I'm just saying business in general. You're like tweedle D-Tweetle demo here. Okay. This guy, this A.B.
Starting point is 01:24:26 This A.B. Commercite to see you way out of it. And it just got railed for 15 minutes. Now we're teammates for life. Next segment, we'll update you on the storage unit. We're trying to buy that we don't really know what's in there. And then trying to sell off. So we'll do that. We'll grab some calls.

There's a restaurant that says, hey, if you don't get on your phone during dinner, we'll give you a 20% discount on your bill. That's cool. Not bad.
Starting point is 01:28:45 Would you do it? Yeah. I think three, nah, six months ago, I probably would have said, I'm okay. But now I've made an effort to put my phone away
Starting point is 01:28:55 for all of dinner unless I'm looking something up. If Caitlin and I were talking about something and we're dinner, I wonder how this person is, like an actor or something? Oh, yeah, yeah. That's it or I wonder how much
Starting point is 01:29:05 this person's worth. Those are the two I usually look up. And by the way, those are not accurate. But it gives you a decent idea. Other than that, I stay off my phone and I would do it now because that is my way to go. I respect this time.
Starting point is 01:29:17 Sometimes if I'm really feeling good, I'll leave my phone in the car. Ooh. Yeah, it's only happen twice. How do you do that? Well, I do. She still has hers and she has no need for the phone. She would be happy if her phone was dead. She uses it for emergency only for the most part.
Starting point is 01:29:31 But 20% off the bill, they say, hey, look, you come in, stay off your phones, we'll cut you down a little bit. What they're probably doing is raising the price a little bit for a phone. On the food. And then cutting a little down after. But you would not use your phone for 20%? Yeah, I could do that. It's impossible for me.
Starting point is 01:29:47 I mean, we give our baby. Oh, your kids, though. So you couldn't? The baby, we have to give the phones for the rest of us to enjoy our meal. So no 20% of the video. No, we'd have to just not going to work. Speaking of money, lunchbox and I are in a storage unit business together. We're trying to buy storage units that are up for auction because the people didn't pay their bill.
Starting point is 01:30:05 We have one that expires in one day, four hours, and 25 minutes. It's a five by five. The high bid is $190, and we have that high bid. Yes! Yes! Yeah! Let's go! Right now we have it. It's our unit. And so tomorrow, like at 12, 1 o'clock, we'll know.
Starting point is 01:30:25 Right, Mikey? So around 1 o'clock tomorrow we'll know. But the thing is, people go in and they start clicking it to bid late. So we've got to be on and ready. Yeah, we've got to be paying attention. We've got to be focused. I mean, all, you know... How high are you willing to go, though?
Starting point is 01:30:37 I mean, how high is it going to take? Okay. I'm with you. Okay. I didn't really answer that. So here's our business. I pay for 75%. He pays for 25%. But then he goes and gets the stuff and sells the stuff back. And then we split the money. Yes. And here we got a built-in, like, audience that is going to buy this. Like people on the list of show. You're planning to sell the stuff back to our audience? Oh. Oh my gosh. Yeah. No, no, no. Because they're going to want to own something. He's going to be like, hey, Bobby, can you sign this? We're not selling stuff back to our listeners. Yes, because listen, they're going to want to own a piece of. Okay, if we do that, we give all the money to charity. No.
Starting point is 01:31:12 Okay. So that's the deal. We're not giving it all to charity? If you want to sell stuff to our list. Then I'm just losing money. This is a, that. Right. We got to do it the real way.
Starting point is 01:31:21 Yeah, I understand that. But we'll talk about how we put it up for sale. Hey, we got a business meeting after this. These people are-in- I mean, if that's the case, I got a hammock for sale right now. Hey. Really? Yo.
Starting point is 01:31:32 I do. Is XZ? Why you in it? Yeah, was XZ while you in it? Oh my gosh. Eddie, do you want to go into business together? We'll figure something out, Amy. Okay, yeah, that'd be a good one.
Starting point is 01:31:40 Okay. Called the absent mindiness. What? Why? I can't be a part of that. Yeah, you're already part of the best. That's your business partner right there. We've got to figure this out.
Starting point is 01:31:51 Okay. Tomorrow, though, at the end of the day, we should know if we won the storage unit. Let's go to Christy, who is on the phone right now. Christy, thanks for calling the Bobby Bone show. What's happening? First of all, morning, studio. Morning. I just want to say congratulations, Bobby.
Starting point is 01:32:07 I'm surprised it's from this long to honor you. Thank you. And second of all, I want to say, maybe more people would vote towards lunchbox if it wasn't so selfish and greedy all the time. Well, see, I'm torn now because you're talking about a business partner. But. It's business though, man. He did rail me last segment. The University of Arkansas, they were giving me an honorary doctorate, and I'll be speaking at graduation in May.
Starting point is 01:32:31 May 14th. Yeah. And it is a very exciting thing for me. I'm extremely honored, non-deserving of it, but I will accept it. it's awesome. It really is something awesome. And lunchbox let me have a pretty good last segment. So I don't really know where I stand right now. I'm being torn in two directions.
Starting point is 01:32:50 You'd rather make money. Who cares about a stew piece of paper? I would rather do both. Why does one have to be? Okay. But thank you. Lunchbox is there any way she wants to know you can be not so selfish and not so greedy? I don't think I'm selfish and I don't think I'm greedy.
Starting point is 01:33:04 Everybody wants money. Everybody's out for money. Why does everybody get up in the morning? She's also talking about you and the doctorate. like you don't want me to have one, but you would accept one if it was offered to you. Yeah, but it's ridiculous. Okay, there you go. Because you've done nothing for it.
Starting point is 01:33:15 All right. Thank you, Christy. Thank you, Bobby. I love your show. Thank you very much. Have a great day. You too. Bye.
Starting point is 01:33:23 Matthew and St. Louis is on. Matthew wants to ask about Abby, our phone screener. Matthew, what's going on? Morning studio. Morning. Morning. I got a question seeing if you and Eddie have wrote a song yet for Abby. Well, yes.
Starting point is 01:33:39 And almost. Close. So, yes, we basically have the song done, and it tells a story of Abby's life. The thing is, Abby updated us yesterday that her and her boyfriend had broken up. Oh, man. That's a twist. I know. And our song was about her and her new boyfriend.
Starting point is 01:33:55 Yeah, like, word for word. And so she came on yesterday and was like, we've broken up. And I'm like, oh, man, I wrote this song about you and your boyfriend. She's like, I'll still sing it. So we got altered part of the story. But I would assume we'll have that song soon enough. She'll record it and then we'll see if she can get a record deal. Stop.
Starting point is 01:34:18 That's so stupid. What? You're making his day worse, Bones. No, there's no way. But, okay, if you do this as a prank, like, okay, you're going to call a record deal. Hey, hey, let's say it. I hope you get to a record deal. She's not getting a real record deal.
Starting point is 01:34:31 But if the song kills and it has tons of streams, tons of downloads, and people are listening to it, why would someone not sign her? What if someone uses it to dance at their wedding? Well, that's way less. No, we want a record dealing. That's way better. Hey, what if someone plays it in their car? Oh.
Starting point is 01:34:50 Whatever. Soon, though. That would be special. All right. Thank you, Matthew. Okay. I got one more question if you got a second. Yeah, sure.
Starting point is 01:34:59 I was seeing if Amy's fish was still alive. Amy is your... Oh, my God. Oh, I would love... I think so. Okay, check, okay. Yeah. She doesn't know.
Starting point is 01:35:08 Yeah. I don't know today, but yesterday it was, I think. Oh, then it's fine. That's good. Anything could happen overnight, and I don't see it in the mornings. Well, that's sad. Anything could happen overnight to any of us. Matthew, thanks, buddy.
Starting point is 01:35:21 Bye, there's got there. I see you. One more call. This is Katie, who worked at storage units. So she's going to give us all attention. Hi. Hi, Katie. Thank you for calling.
Starting point is 01:35:32 Hi. Hello, you two. What's going on? Well, we are on our way to kindergarten registration, but we thought we'd call in real quick because I used to work at a storage unit place after high school and we had one guy who bit on a unit and he ended up getting like seven of those automatic rifles
Starting point is 01:35:52 out of the storage unit and he profited a little over $7,000. Oh! Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's right. That's right. We're back in business, baby. Where's the excitement?
Starting point is 01:36:03 Let's go! No, that's one thing. Who do you sell those two? Pond chops, fry. Gun collectors. Yeah. On the streets. People buy that.
Starting point is 01:36:11 No, no, no, no. You do that. You do that. Oh, no, no, no. That's not what we sell them. All right, Katie, thank you. Have a great day. Hope kindergarten registration is awesome.
Starting point is 01:36:20 Say bye, say bye, Bobby Bones. Bye, Bobby Bones. Bye, thank you. See you. Hope your day is good. You know what she said? Say that much box is my hero or something? Oh, that's cool.
Starting point is 01:36:30 Good for her. All right, bye, guys. Okay, thank you guys. Bobby Bones show. Bonehead. Norrie of the day. This story comes with us from Bennell, Florida. A 57-year-old man went into Wendy's ordered a burger and a frosting.
Starting point is 01:36:44 He's like, and don't forget, I get a free frosty. I'm DEA. And he tried to show a bad. And we're like, sir, we, it's not, we don't give discounts. He's like, no, I'm DEA. I need a free frosty. Drug enforcement agency, free frosty. And he started getting mad when they're like, sir, we don't give a disc- He can't be a real DEA. He can't be right. I'm predicting. I'm predicting. I'm there's no way. And so he started yelling at the employees. They felt threatened. so they called police and they came. And it was not a real DEA.
Starting point is 01:37:12 Yeah, classic. Yeah. Because then you want most, almost all DEA agents have had to prove they're responsible through actions to get and keep their badge. This would not be a responsible action. Did he have a badge at all that said that? No, I just said concealed permit.
Starting point is 01:37:30 Like he was a lot to carry a gun. It was his concealed. So it's not even a badge. It's just a car. Well, no, he made a badge out of it. Like he made a badge that says concealed permit. Gotta love when guys make badges. All right.
Starting point is 01:37:40 I'm Lunchbox at your Bonehead Story of the Day. I'm a massive fan of Cheryl Crow. Maybe you know this song from her, All I Want to Do. Maybe you know every day is a winding road. She has a new documentary coming out May 6th on Showtime that I hope you go and check out. But love talking with her here. On the Bobby Bone Show now. Cheryl Crow.
Starting point is 01:38:08 Well, let me say that it's tough for me to maintain professional. and be a superfan. So I'm going to balance it here. I love that. See, I'm a super fan too. I never miss you. But we're going to keep this about you. How did you get the Michael Jackson background singing job? I crashed an audition, found out where it was and I went and they, some guy was there and he's like, tell me about yourself. I'm Cheryl Crowe. I just moved here from St. Louis. I'm a school teacher. I'm doing some backup work. And they're like, okay, what do you want to sing? And I sang. And then I got a call back the next day. What'd you sing? Do you remember? I sang, and I've got to be free. A Denise Williams song, went on the road with him for 18 months. And there were some things on that tour. I was just like, this doesn't make sense. And then later on the documentary came out. And I mean, he was already eccentric on that tour. But people ask me all the time, are you able to listen to his music? And I'm like, man, that was the first album I ever owned. I got it from Santa Claus when I was five years old, ABC. All that music was important to me. And it definitely changed the way I felt about him.
Starting point is 01:39:14 But I can still listen to the music from when he was a kid because I feel like he was who he was then. He wasn't who he became. When you walked in, we were talking for a second. And you were to tell him something good, which is a segment we do. Oh, yeah. And, you know, full transparency here. I do that segment so many times. You start to go, man, I know people love it.
Starting point is 01:39:31 I've got to keep doing it. Do you feel that way about some of your songs? Okay. There was a period where if I thought I had to play all I want to do one more time, I would just run straight out in front of a Mack truck. Part of it is it took my getting sick to really realize. I mean, that song took me all over the Middle East. I mean, we went to Israel.
Starting point is 01:39:50 We went to Tokyo, people who couldn't speak English sang every word of that wordy song. I just embraced a full on gratitude. And I enjoy playing it now. But there were a few years in there where I was just like, oh, God, I'm sick of this song. You know, I hate this song. I hate this song. But I love it, you know. I think part of what happens is you get older, you get really, you know, you get sentimental.
Starting point is 01:40:12 And you get really grateful and you get really boring. And I love being boring now. What is fame like when you first get just true freaking fame? Yeah. When you walk into a restaurant and they have a table or when you never have to pay for anything. That's always been a weird thing. Like they're going to send me clothes. Why?
Starting point is 01:40:31 It does a number on you for sure. And the number it did on me was this is amazing. I don't know if I deserve it.
