Starting point is 00:01:50 Okay, okay, okay, welcome to Tuesday show. Morning studio. Morning. All right, let's go. Up first with something to say. From South Texas, he's our video producer. Producer Reddy! Yeah, hey guys, so over the weekend, I got NBA 2K.
Starting point is 00:02:19 It's a new video game. And on the cover is Devin Booker. He plays for the Phoenix Suns. And on his shoe, it's written Be Legendary. And I've never noticed this. I didn't know he has this on his shoe. But I started to adopt this. So now this morning, I woke up and I'm like,
Starting point is 00:02:32 I'm going to start writing that everywhere all over my house. Don't write his thing. Why not? It's insane. I'm just writing just do it everywhere. I think it's a great idea. No, I thought you were going to be motivated to be legendary, not steal someone's saying. So should I come up with my own?
Starting point is 00:02:45 And you got five-r-rpeat tattoo on his back. How's your sign going at your house? Good. That's today's be legendary. Okay, see, you can take it and use it. I like it. All right, next up, from Austin, Texas. Born and raised, Amy. Okay, so I had no idea that football games still happened in the rain. I just figured.
Starting point is 00:03:03 Rain, yes. I just figured it's raining. This is for sure getting canceled. and I have learned my lesson that it goes on as long as there's no lightning. Snow, too, in case you're wondering. Unless it's so bad, the roads are so bad to get there, they'll still play in the snow. What they won't play in is lightning. Thunder, they'll probably call it because where there's thunder, there's lightning
Starting point is 00:03:24 if they don't see lightning. Well, I need to invest in one of those big golf umbrellas. I learned that by watching every other parent have one, and my son's white pants are now covered in mud, and I have to bleach them. Good, because back in the day, when it would rain and get muddy, and I would have a white uniform. I was like, I ain't getting dirty. I'd be the only one to clean uniform
Starting point is 00:03:40 because I don't want to get tackled. I try to catch a boy. So I'm just letting you know, good thing it was dirty. That's awesome. All right, up next. In his blue hoodie that he, well, it's not new. You wear that one about a third of the year. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:53 It's been in rotation for the last couple weeks. Here he is. Lunchbox. Listen, ladies, there's one thing you should never text your significant other. When they're at the grocery store, don't text him. Can you grab me a menstrual cup? No. You need to go get that on...
Starting point is 00:04:07 Who cares? No. You've been married to her for years. This should not be a big deal. No. Like I didn't get the text. Don't text that to your significant other. Please.
Starting point is 00:04:19 I have no problem with that kind of stuff. No. Okay. And finally. From Mountain Pine, Arkansas, Bobby Bow. Thank you. So I watched Elvis on HBO Max. Well, at least the first half of it,
Starting point is 00:04:31 it's two and a half hours long. It's long. First of all, what are they thinking? Making it that long. Just do part one and part two. Give me a break. Is it that good? It's good.
Starting point is 00:04:39 Two and a half hours good? Not two and a half hours I wanted to keep going good. I got a little tired and I said, you know, I'm going to piece out for a minute. But it's definitely shot differently. It is that Bosn-Lerman, like Mulan Rouge, like, but it's cool.
Starting point is 00:04:56 It takes a long music video, in it? It takes a second to get into and understand what they're doing, but it's cool. So far, I'm only halfway through. I wish I was all the way done. There's no one week in a movie should be over an hour, 45 minutes. but I'm watching Elvis and I like it so far. Final review in the next couple days.
Starting point is 00:05:09 All right, that's what's up. Thank you guys. Welcome, welcome, welcome to the show. Let's open up the mailbag. You send an email and we read it on the air. It's something we call Bobby's Mailbag. Hello, Bobby Bones. I need advice.
Starting point is 00:05:26 My husband and I live in the country. We have an apartment in an old barn separate from our house that our mother-in-law lives in. At times it's great. We appreciate. We love having her around. Not too many kids. You get to see the grandparents every day. We do feel very blessed. However, she has a doorbell camera on her back door that faces our house.
Starting point is 00:05:47 She can also see every time we leave. And every time I leave, it seems like I get a text saying, hey, where are you going? I find myself avoiding any time she's in there or any time that it's part of the yard that I know she can see. I feel like this is an invasion of privacy. I would like to tell her to get rid of the camera. She does not pay rent. We own the property. We don't even have any cameras.
Starting point is 00:06:08 How do I handle this? Thanks. Sarah, who wants to live in secret. Yeah. Amy? Oh, this is when you go to your husband and say, Hey, can you talk to your mom please? That's right.
Starting point is 00:06:19 Yeah. Like, let's talk to your mom about this ring door cam and the situation and how she doesn't need to check in on us every time we're leaving or watch it or pay attention to it. I don't know. I put it in his hands. You keep breaking it. Break it.
Starting point is 00:06:32 But she'll see you breaking it. Yeah. Not if you come from a certain angle. You like stand to the side and throw something at it? You go from the back and then you come around the side. You take a little hammer. You can't see anything but the hammer. Wow.
Starting point is 00:06:44 Am I the only psycho killer that thinks about this? Yeah. And while she just buy a new one? Okay. Okay. Great. Then you do it again. Then you do it again. And then she's like, I'm not investing in these cameras anymore. And if it's like I might get caught, you put on a hoodie and a black mask, like a face cover and you do it then.
Starting point is 00:07:01 You just act like a burglar. Yeah. And then if that doesn't work, you get in the camera and you go, If you keep watching us, we're going to kill you in your sleep. That's like eighth round. Wow. Yeah. But I'd shut that crap down.
Starting point is 00:07:12 You shouldn't feel uncomfortable in your own house and your own yard, period. The end, all jokes aside, you shouldn't feel uncomfortable in your own house or your own yard. That's your safe place. So the husband, the son. Yeah, that's plan A. Can have a talk. Or you can just creep up from the side and go, bick and break it. Plan B.
Starting point is 00:07:27 Over and over. Listen, she's old. She can replace it? What's you going to do? Come on. Did she say she was old? I mean, some mother-in-laws are very able. Yeah, she's this nosy.
Starting point is 00:07:36 She's probably old. My mother-in-law's pretty able, man. She's not... No, but she... Yeah. I have your husband talk about it. If not, I would suggest you taking the back road.
Starting point is 00:07:48 Mm-hmm. You know what I'm saying? I like that burglar one. That's cool. Just to find the angle of the camera can't see. It's on a fish eye. You can't see from behind. Boom.
Starting point is 00:07:55 She just... She's a hammer. Come up from side of the house, Pink Panther theme. Yeah. Do-do. Do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do. then run away We got your email
Starting point is 00:08:05 And we read it on the air Now it's time to close Bobby's mail back Yeah The question is What did you and your significant other Force each other to do And did you end up liking it?
Starting point is 00:08:18 And I'll tell you why Mike D This happened with your wife Or she wanted you to do what? Volunteer Did you like it? I ended up liking it But I just had a weird thing
Starting point is 00:08:28 Meeting new people I felt like I was going to be really awkward So the idea of going to something like that freak me out. So at first you're like, I don't want to volunteer. Yeah, I did not. Not because of the activity or what you're helping. No, I'm all good with that part. It's just the going and meeting and interacting with people.
Starting point is 00:08:40 I struggle with that. You have social anxiety? Oh, yeah, really bad. So she made you do that. What did you make her do? I made her go to a punk rock show. She's never been to one, but one of my favorite bands came to town. And I was like, well, you go with me.
Starting point is 00:08:52 And she went and probably a one and done. So she hated it. Yeah. Yeah. Those are crazy, dude. If you're new to the show, Mike D is our head writer here. If you hear a game, he's very involved behind the scenes. Not a big talker because he has social anxiety.
Starting point is 00:09:11 Yeah. Okay, so if you'd like to take part in this, you can raise your hand in a second. We'll get to it. So what did you guys do? You're like, I need you to do this. So for me, it's anything Arkansas sports. I make Caitlin go to everything. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:22 Arkansas football games. Arkansas, Arkansas. Arkansas, Arkansas. And she's like, I talk, Arkansas. That's what it is. all the time. And you try to make her wear Arkansas gear too. Yeah, she didn't do that anymore. She's like a couple times. She was like, I'll be a part, but she now will not make me wear Oklahoma gear. So we kind of have an understanding. I did wear Coach Patty Gasso's name when we went
Starting point is 00:09:44 to watch Oklahoma in the College World Series. And I supported her. And I did root for them. That's family, right? Right. But I couldn't wear the OU. And I've been talking to the athletic director at OU a little bit. His name's Joe. And it's like, let's go. We got to set up for a game. So I have to go for Caitlin. But I just can't. I can't. So, but I'm not a hater. Everybody knows. I made her do all that and she probably doesn't love it, but she doesn't. Here's what she's made me do. One, drink more water. That's good. You probably needed that. I hate it. But you probably needed that. I do. Yes, it stinks. And she's like, you're always dehydrated. And so she looks ahead and sees that I'm going to be miserable later.
Starting point is 00:10:15 So she's like, you should drink a lot of water. So I've been drinking more water. She tries to have me relax occasionally and get better sleep. So that's good for you again. Yeah. But this is, okay. She, she, likes me to wear clothes that fit now. As opposed to... Well, I like my basketball shorts down to my shins. You do, real bad. She says there's Church Lake basketball.
Starting point is 00:10:37 And so, you know, when I look at what she has me do, it's actually pretty healthy for me, too, I guess. Yeah, just helping you out. Yeah, I'm just uncomfortable. People telling me what to do. Eddie, do you have anything here? Oh, yeah. My wife made me go to get Manny Petty's one time.
Starting point is 00:10:51 I enjoyed it. Oh, you did? I did not want to go, but after it was said and done, I'm like, that's pretty cool. Okay, and then the other side? I made her go play golf with. me and she acted like she was having fun, but I know she just hated it. She didn't want to be there.
Starting point is 00:11:04 Like, it's a guy's thing. Like, I'm there. I'm making her watch every shot. Hey, hey, watch this, babe, watch this. And she doesn't not care. And she's like, whatever. She's on her phone the whole time. She did not want to be there.
Starting point is 00:11:13 Lunchbox? Anything you want to add? Oh, yeah. My wife makes me go to open houses, even though we're not looking to buy a house. She is so obsessed with going to open houses. But since you stay in an Airbnb, like, aren't you more interested now and finding out what's up? I mean, it is, well, I guess you can find out stuff probably about people.
Starting point is 00:11:33 You see family pictures and stuff, but it just feels so awkward because you show up and you're the only one there. And the realtor's like, oh, so, you know, when are you looking at moving? What are you looking for? And it's like, we're not even looking, man. Do you say that? Do you say you're just putting your nose to somebody else's business? I feel like, I'm just wasting. No, I just walk away.
Starting point is 00:11:50 And I let my wife talk to him because I'm like, this is so awkward and uncomfortable. And we walk around these people's houses and we have no intention of even buying a house and we do it, we've done it numerous times. Interesting. Is it maybe to build a portfolio in your mind of what you like when you do decide to buy a different house or upgrade or build a house? No, not for me. I'm just like this is a waste of time.
Starting point is 00:12:13 Like I can be doing something else with my time. Does she search them out ahead of time? Yes. Ahead of time. This Sunday, there's one two to four. We got to be there. And I'm like, stop it. She goes, no, it's over in a great neighbor.
Starting point is 00:12:24 And I'm like, we are not going to. That's a fun free activity. Yeah, it is fun. I feel like you're going into someone's house, though, without really... It doesn't matter. So is everyone else. They know you're coming. They know they're having an open house.
Starting point is 00:12:35 It is so weird and so terrible. It's just very stupid. Have you fallen in love with the house once you got in, though? I'm just like, okay, here we go. So what have you made her do? Oh, I made her join a fantasy football league last year. One that I was not in, but I found one. That way she could understand my love of it and how much I enjoy it and why it's so...
Starting point is 00:12:55 And? She hated it. Yeah, that didn't help. No. She was like, this is so annoying. Get to pay attention to so much stuff. All the dudes are so passionate about this. And after about three weeks, she was just like, I don't even want to do it. All the guys like, oh, we had to do this.
Starting point is 00:13:06 And we made her. Ray, we'll do the dudes. Go ahead. Yeah, so she made me decorate for seasons. I thought a place just stays neutral. But now it's, you know, we're starting to put our pumpkin stuff out. Not necessarily Halloween time, but we're moving into fall. And then after that, it's obviously Christmas and stuff. So she's taught me, I'm kind of down with it.
Starting point is 00:13:24 It makes it feel more homey. And what do you make her do? Yeah, so I took her, I told her how fun horse racing was, so we went to Kentucky and we bet the ponies. That's fun? It was awesome. Yeah, did she have loved it? Yeah, she's asked about 10 times since then if we can go back. So, yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:38 Before I play this song, I want you. Did you guys listen in here? Listen closely. Oh, water. Drink a lot of water. Lifetime being influenced in a positive way. How about that? It's time for the good news.
Starting point is 00:13:52 With producer Eddie. Tell me something good. In Michigan, there's a 10-year-old boy who's playing on the rocks by a dam. and if you ever seen water by a dam, it's real rough. It's always going in a circle, looks like a bunch of whirlpools. Well, the kid slips off the rocks, falls in the water. He's like, help, help, bunch of witnesses see it. They call 911.
Starting point is 00:14:11 Well, Officer Kinsey, he's off duty. He's a firefighter and a police officer. He hears it on the radio and says, I'm right here. Let me go see if I can help. He sees the kid, grabs a flotation device from his cruiser. He jumps in the water, gets the kid. By that time, the rest of the crews show up. They pull both of them out of the water.
Starting point is 00:14:27 They save the kid. He's great. The thing, too, about most dams, if they're generating, that water is 40 degrees. Oh, yeah. Because we used to, I lived by dam. So we used to go out. And always the water line, too, that's where a lot of fish wear, too. They'd stay at the warm, cold water line.
Starting point is 00:14:43 But we would go, we would try to see who could stay underwater the longest. It'd freezing and you get up, you'd be red. You guys would do that? Oh, all the time. That's what you do in small towns, bro. That sounds terrible. That's what you do? You're like, all right, what's the record?
Starting point is 00:14:55 41 seconds. Let's go. And you're blue. It'd be hard to even get up once you went down. So he probably jumped into freezing cold water and saved a kid. That's an awesome story. That is what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good.
Starting point is 00:15:09 On the phone. It's Monique in Houston, Texas. Monique, how's it going? Hi, Bobby. I'm good. How are you? I'm doing pretty good. I'm so grateful that you're on the phone.
Starting point is 00:15:18 We're going to give you a chance now to win a prize. That prize. Hey, ask you what the prize is. $100 son of gift card. Okay. I got to ask him myself. $100. Sonic gift card, Monique, if you can win this game. Do you feel like you've been listening to
Starting point is 00:15:32 the show for a good amount of time? Yes, I'm almost a 10-year-long listener. Wow. Wow. We like that. Okay, so what's going to happen is I'm going to give you five questions in Bobby Bone Show trivia. If you can get four out of five, you win the $100 Sonic gift card. If you get five out of five, I'll give you the gift card and one of these Beanie babies in my bag behind me. That's cool. Yeah. From the value bag, the valuable one, the Scoobie Steve does not want me to give away. Okay, how does that sound? That's exciting, yes.
Starting point is 00:16:02 All right, let's play the game. Here's an example question. Monique, what state do I have tattooed on my right arm? The state of Arkansas. That's correct. That doesn't count. That is a count's an example one. We're just warming her up a little bit.
Starting point is 00:16:16 We're getting our stretches and our calisthenics, as they say. All right, four out of five, Monique, we're going to start easy. Number one, speaking to states, what's? state is my wife from? She is from Oklahoma. That is true. That's right. Number two. Our signature drink is from Sonic. It's called the Bobby slash Caitlin Water. What candy is in that drink?
Starting point is 00:16:41 That would be nerd. Come on! Wow! She listens. She listens. We love it. We love it. Question number three. Which show member has been married the longest at 17 years. The longest, I think is Eddie. You say Eddie?
Starting point is 00:17:01 The answer is Eddie. What's the key, Eddie? What's the key? What's the key? Just don't give up. If you don't give up, you'll make it all the way? That's all I got for you. Monique, how do you feel about that advice there?
Starting point is 00:17:21 That's extremely inspirational, Eddie. Thank you, Monique. Remember that when you're having a little bit more. Remember that when you're having problems, just don't give up. Just don't, don't. That is, there's something to it. There's something to snacity for sure. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:17:30 All right, Monique, you get one more out of the next two. You'll be the champion. Whoa. You win $100 of Sonic and a chance at a beanie baby. All right, here we go. Monique, how much money was I fined by the FCC in 2014? Oh, was it a million dollars? I think it was a million dollars.
Starting point is 00:17:49 You think I'll be seven figures? You think someone fined me $1 million? Yes. That is true. Okay, okay. Let's see if she went, let's see if she gets five for five. Monique, I was the captain of what senior high team when I was in seventh grade. What did you say? The quiz bowl team.
Starting point is 00:18:12 That's her. She's on her role. Let's see if she gets to keep going a little bit. This is for Stanley the dog. No, you can't have my dog. The book. He's giving your dog away. Who was the first celebrity I ever interviewed, Monique?
Starting point is 00:18:33 First celebrity Darius Rutgers. Oh, wow. Unbelievable. Is this Scoob on Voice Changer? This is nuts. Wow, this is unbelievable. I have to tell you guys something. I love the show so much.
Starting point is 00:18:47 And at work on our website, we get to have like little bios about ourselves. And I have in my work bio that I'm obsessed with. the Bobby Bones show, but I'm like a huge fan. So, we're obsessed with you, Monique. Wow. That's been in my work bio for four years already. Wow. Well, what can I, what can I give you other than the gift card and a Beanie Baby?
Starting point is 00:19:07 Is there anything from the show that you want? Is there a piece of, I'd like you to have a piece of memorabilia of some sort. Um, I don't know. Do you guys, does anyone like still have their chair from the... We're going to mail her a chair? We're going to dismantle a chair in Sincer? I love, Monique, I love it. You went right for it.
Starting point is 00:19:26 You got to respect it. You want cherry underwood? Yeah, the thing about the chairs are, they're too big, and we only use stamps.com, and that'd be a tough one. She can come big it up. Yeah, that'd be a tough one. We do have chairs. Is there anything else that you would like thinking about it,
Starting point is 00:19:43 that we could actually mail to you without it costing us $1,000? I don't know. Lunch, help me pick something, because I feel like you would go for the gold on this. Go ahead, lunch. Well, I got the perfect thing that when I was cleaning out my closet the other day, I brought scuba for crap from the back. A pair of my old used boxers. Okay, there it is.
Starting point is 00:20:00 You've never been closer to the show. You still have that, right? So, $100 sonnet gift card, a beanie baby from the good bag, and lunchboxes, use boxers. Experts are calling that nice to know. Also, plants can hear when bees buzz. My phycus just heard that. And finally, animal experts have confirmed that goats have regional accents. I'm getting a hint of a lot.
Starting point is 00:21:55 I wish that. It feels good to get good news. It feels good to Geico. Who doesn't love warm carbby comfort? Satisfying sandwiches, loaded bagels, rich mac and cheese. Crave-worthy and smart. Hero Bread's loaves, bagels, and noodles have just zero to five grams neck carbs,

Starting point is 00:22:32 And when he gets there, they said, no, you actually want a million bucks. Wow. How do you do that? How do you do what? How do you mistake $600 for a million? Okay, so we picked up the 20 times the money scratch-off ticket. And so some of those, the times where you're like, oh, I won this. But then they start multiplying it and you don't realize they're being multiplied.
Starting point is 00:22:53 And that's what he thought he won, 600 bucks. So he goes, and he goes, hey, and they, like, one person looked at it, and they, like, called their supervisor. It's one of those things. Hey, John, what you come to the desk for a second? And so that's what they're like, no, no, no, this multiply. They're like, dude, you hit a million bucks. Amazing. I guess why I think I would have been on to being more than 600 is maybe they had to go to the office.
Starting point is 00:23:17 What's the role on that? I think it's over $500, I believe, because I've never had to go to the office. so I wouldn't know technically, but I think it's $500. The winner chose to take his winnings is a one-time lump sum payment of $759,000. Wow. That's crazy. Amazing. Just to win $600 would be awesome.
Starting point is 00:23:36 Now if I do win, I'll be like, I know this says I only want $200, but I can't wait to go in and it tells me I want $2 million. Lunchbox is the fact that you have not won, even as much as Scuba Steve, who never plays the lottery. And Scooba, you won like a month ago. How much do you win? Yeah, I was going to say, when he's over there talking about $500, he's obviously never won. that much because you can cash that out at the gas station. Burn! I think it's somewhere in the thousands you've got to take it to the Florida or the
Starting point is 00:24:00 lottery office. And what did you win? The most I've won is 500, but I mean, I've won thousands over the years. Like I went 12 here, 20 there, 50 here, 100 there. But the biggest 500. You won $12? Yeah, like sometimes you win $12. If you get like one or two numbers, right?
Starting point is 00:24:15 I don't think you should be bragging about winning $12. But 500 is more than you've ever won. You're probably 20 times more than him. You're exactly right, but that's just how life works sometimes. though. I'm not giving up. Hey, like Eddie said, never give up. Never give up. That's right. Just keep fighting. An investigation that lasted more than a year has resulted in charges against three teachers in Pascoe County. This is from Bay News 9. Officials say the three teachers are accused of helping students take exams or in some cases taking the test for them out right because
Starting point is 00:24:42 if the students got a higher grade, then the teacher would get additional funds. Same. District officials said that when a student passes industry certification exams, their teacher receives additional funds. Each of the three teachers charged with being a part of an organized scheme to defraud. Now, when it talks about funds, does this mean that they get a bonus or does it mean it's a classroom? It just says funds. That's different.
Starting point is 00:25:08 I'm just assuming, this is me just assuming here. I'm assuming that's a bonus. Yeah. That goes in the pocket. I mean, if you're going to do it, you're doing it for a bonus. Yeah, you're not doing it for the pencils and paper that you're getting for your classroom. Well, they went hard, though, and just took it for them. They're like, you're not going to have me look bad, and I want the money.
Starting point is 00:25:25 And how do they approach the student? They're like, hey, hey, little Jimmy, listen here. Well, I don't know if Little Jimmy. You have this test today, but no. That's like a cat garden. You think they call it an eighth grader or little Jimmy? But yes, that's a weird thing to ask because somebody had to talk. Yes.
Starting point is 00:25:37 Like somebody talked. And finally, as we talk about money, a study shows that there's a big difference on the age groups and the generations on how they talk about the money they've made, meaning, millennials and Gen Z share with each other kind of how much they're making so nobody gets taken advantage of. You know, the old school thing is don't talk about how much you make.
Starting point is 00:25:58 Never share how much you make. So 12% of boomers only told anybody that they worked with how much they made. And I'm assuming peers because I have somebody who's a peer of mine and he knows everything I make. He sees him a contract.
Starting point is 00:26:11 He knows every single thing that's in it because I didn't want him to get taken advantage of when he was doing his contract because we are in similar, we have similar jobs. And so there are other people that do this in the industry. Like I know other super, I don't want to put anybody out. But they do this, right? And so boomers, 12%, 14% of Gen Xers,
Starting point is 00:26:36 and it hits a little bit. Over 25% of millennials shared how much they make. 30% of, or 40% of Gen Z. Talk about how much they are. Wow. So you do that. So you find out one of your. you're being screwed over or to make sure that other people aren't being screwed over.
Starting point is 00:26:51 Thoughts, Amy. Oh, well, none of us here know anything about what we make. You guys always say you're millennials, right? Yeah, I'm a millennial. I don't want to be. I would prefer to be Gen X, but I got some millennial award. And I was like, I'm like, no, no, stop. I don't want to be a millennial.
Starting point is 00:27:07 Now you are. I was born in 80, and it depends on which version of millennial. It could be 80 or, but. You're on the line. I prefer to be Gen X because, you know, Nirvana. a Brooks and done, you know? That's me. I like what you do in order to like help your friends out in a way if you can, that's okay. But just for a regular old work environment, I don't know. Let me see your contract. I don't know that just talking or bragging about it for no reason.
Starting point is 00:27:31 But I think sharing, the more information's out there, the more you can use that information to make sure that nobody gets screwed over. Yes. I mean, that's what it is. And make sure that people that are doing the same job are getting paid the same. Nobody on this show does the same job as anybody else, though. So there's no... What? Yeah, you're right. I mean, I was going to say, Amy and Eddie
Starting point is 00:27:52 and I, but I do more than them. No, okay. Okay. Yeah. Do you think you do more than them? Yeah. Okay. I bring more of the time. I was going to say the exact opposite. Yeah. He does the least out of everyone. What? He does a lot. No, he doesn't. Why are you sticking up from him?
Starting point is 00:28:08 Amy. I don't know. I'm looking out for everybody. On the phone right now is Christy from North Carolina. Hey, Christy, welcome to the show. What can I do for you? I am a regular, hi. Hi. Hi. It's a little sad because of the conversation that happened with lunchbox and the caller about his clear my lips.
Starting point is 00:28:28 I just can't believe that he would take things and resources that school teachers need and then speak to that girl the way he did and act like, oh, well, thanks for telling me that if my kids go to school teachers need. and then speak to that girl the way he did and act like, oh, well, thanks for telling me that if my kids go to school and they don't have their supplies, the teachers will just supply them. I just thought that was so disrespectful. Let me say, first of all, solid impression. Solid impression. We like that.
Starting point is 00:28:50 And secondly, we agree with you. Thirdly, for those that do not know what happened, Lunchbox did his own list. And he was like, please, you guys clear my list. Yeah, two bushels of bananas, some crest toothpaste. He did a gross. We left. Laundry detergent. But listeners cleared it.
Starting point is 00:29:07 Yeah, they sent me stuff. Those are his hardcore fans. They love him. No, that's appreciative. And what she's saying is that I'm disrespectful, but here's her thing. How about you call in and complain about the teachers? Because why don't we donate that stuff for the homeless? What?
Starting point is 00:29:19 No, no. She's saying I'm taking because the teachers need it. That's a terrible. No, no, it's a great analogy. It doesn't even make sense. Why? Why do the teachers need it? They have a job.
Starting point is 00:29:28 They chose to become teachers. I think the reason is because I don't think teachers sign up to have to spend all their own money which they don't get paid a lot anyway. Because they could actually not spend any of their own money and only spend the money that the schools or the state give them. And they would probably, it would be very difficult for them to effectively teach our kids. And that would be what would happen. So if you are okay, listen, our education system is not good anyway.
Starting point is 00:29:51 So if you're okay with our education system being terrible and remaining terrible, and teachers just going, well, there's what I got. So screw it. Let's just do a bad job. If you're okay with that, then cool. Oh, I had plenty of bad teachers. Look where I am. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:30:03 Did a great job. I made it. My point is, teachers need help, we should help them. And if we can't help them by electing people, they're going to make sure they get raises, then we should help them by, if we can, helping them out day to day. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:30:17 So that's what's up. Christy, I appreciate you calling. I'm glad you said it. I've said it a few times, but I think it means a little more when people like yourself call in. Yeah, I just think you need to remember your privilege. I am privileged.
Starting point is 00:30:28 That's why people give me things. Christy, should we fire him? You almost lost me as a listener this morning Just because of how he asked and the things he says And I don't think that you want that as a representation Of you and your show I just think it's a little sad Oh man well let me say you
Starting point is 00:30:44 It's so hard to say you let me say yeah It's so hard to say goodbye we won't miss you Christy And there's nine arguing against him Yeah it's 10% of America That acts like he does And secondly we still let him have his voice Because this is America So this is a very American show
Starting point is 00:31:01 I'll say it. USA, Red and Blue. America rules. All right. Christy, thank you for your call. All right. Bye. Thank you so much, guys. Bye.
Starting point is 00:31:10 The Babel show. Here's Amy's pile of stories. Miriam Webster added 370 new words and phrases to its dictionary. Some that we know exactly what they are. Pumpkin spice, side hustle. Those are just now getting added. And by the way, dictionary is now just an online thing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:28 So you can add anything at this point because it's limitless. but okay pumpkin spice is just being added Yeah and side hustle and baller But I had never heard of the word yeet Do you know what that means? Why E E E T, Yeat? Sounds like Yee. Is that what Granger yells? Yee, E, E, no, that's Yee, E, E. Oh, yeah, close.
Starting point is 00:31:46 Yeah, yeah. Sound like yee to me. What is it? But I feel like I want to be in on this lingo and it's slang used to express surprise approval or excited enthusiasm. If you're calling it lingo, you can't use it. Lingo's an old person.
Starting point is 00:31:58 It was like, I want to be on this lingo. Lingo. All right, what else? LARP. I've heard that. You have? Yeah, that's when those dorks fight with swords in the park.
Starting point is 00:32:06 It's live action role play. That's it. I didn't want to jump on it so quickly and be like, yeah, it is. Lunchbox, they're not dorks. They are passionate about something and they're out there doing it and living it out.
Starting point is 00:32:18 You went to watch a 16-to-pregnant person sign a book. Yeah, yeah. You sat in there for hours. I did. I was the last one in line just like I could have more time with her. Well, and then the last one I want to talk about
Starting point is 00:32:27 is adorkeable. It's like adorable, but in a dorky way. So, oh, you knew that one. Yeah. Okay, socially awkward or corky in a way that is also endearing. Yeah. Hey, I know the lingo. Kellogg's just dropped some advice on how to make your sugary breakfast cereal healthier,
Starting point is 00:32:46 and it's basically that you should buy. Everybody, hear some advice. No, this is crazy to me. They said, just buy a second box of our other kinds of cereal that have less sugar and mix them together. that way you get less sugar. That's a pretty good idea. Yeah, it's not bad. If you're going to buy two boxes anyway, like over time,
Starting point is 00:33:04 if you're going to eat two boxes of cereal and you want to eat less sugar, just get those two boxes. And you have two boxes of less sugary, but still tastes pretty good. I like that. They call it a cereal mashup and you can mix frosted flakes with special gay. And if you don't think our show is that funny, listen to two in a row. Because you'll for sure find different points over two shows that make you laugh. Same thing.
Starting point is 00:33:25 All right, what else? Dolly Parton and Kelly Clarkson put out a version of 9 to 5 and Dolly said that nobody sings like Kelly Clarkson so she was thrilled to have her on the song and then Kelly said I hope y'all like what we did but even if you don't remember that I got to sing a duet with the magical Dolly Parton and I have bragging rights till the end of time I don't like it I like Kelly Clarkson a lot I like Dolly a lot it's just too different from the area let me try to clear my mind I was just to expecting. 9 to 5 is still good. It's not only good because it was old. That's right. It's a jam. Listen to that. So I need to remove this from my head, even though that's what it is. Have you heard the new version
Starting point is 00:34:09 or are you just hearing it for the first time? Okay. So you didn't like it after two seconds. Which is wrong of me. It's because he had expectations. Yes. I was basing it on my feelings toward the old version. Let's go. I like it a little better. I mean, I'm sure I think I would like it. Just the melody is not the same
Starting point is 00:34:30 And so where the melody would be, working nine to five, what a way, da da da da da da da da da da da da da. And that's a little slower. I'm sure I'll like it if I listen to it more. But right now, it's going to be a no for me, dog.
Starting point is 00:34:44 All right, thanks for Andy. All right, is that it, Amy? I'm Amy. That's my file. That was Amy's pile of stories. It's time for the good news. With lunchbox. Stay home, it's something good.
Starting point is 00:34:58 Five years ago before the U.S. Open. tennis tournament. There's a little kid and he's interviewing Roger Federer. That one of the greatest of all time says, hey, I need you to make me a promise that you'll play at least five, six, seven more years so we can play head to head. And Roger Federer said, not only do I promise, I pinky promise. So Smash Cup five years later, this little kid, they say, here, you're going to go to training in Switzerland. But really, it was a surprise match against Roger Federer. So this kid is one of the top players in the 12. and under category in the United States. He's 11 years old. Here you go.
Starting point is 00:35:33 Zizu. Hi. Hi, Mr. Federer. Nice to see you. Roger. Hey. Nice to see you. Welcome to Switzerland. My God, thank you. We have a promise, right? Yes. We got to play. Yeah. Are you ready? Yeah. And then Federer beat him 72-0. Yeah. The kid never returned one of his service. Just crushed him. Like, no. You want to get better? You think you're good? That's a good story. That's a good story. And then they played. It's awesome. And then Federer is obviously near the end. Yeah. But he did wait five or six years and flew him out and they played.
Starting point is 00:36:04 That's a great story. That is what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. Over to Amy's joke. Let's go. The morning corny. What starts with a knee, ends with a knee, and only has one letter in it. What starts with a knee?
Starting point is 00:36:22 Ends with a knee. Oh, I figured it out while saying. You did it. What is it? Envelope. Because there's a flip on the, word letter. There's always something little. Yeah. It's a good one though. I don't mean
Starting point is 00:36:33 to ruin it but I figured it out while saying it back. Nice job. It starts with a knee, ends with the knee and has one letter in it. Invalo. Yeah, that's pretty good. That's a good one. That was the morning corny. I didn't mean to ruin it. I was just proud of myself that I got it. Here is Hannah in New Hampshire. Why
Starting point is 00:36:51 did the Egyptian queen find a king so irresistible? Because of his pharaoh moans. Enjoy! How's a good one? That was pretty good, too. I felt bad since I ruined it, so I gave you that extra in there. Thanks.
Starting point is 00:37:04 By the way, I'm doing one more show in Nashville, one in Vegas, and that should be it. But the Nashville show is on sale on Friday. So I'm doing the show October 22nd, coming up pretty quick. But if you want to come to the one in Nashville, tickets on sale at 10 Central at Bobbybones.com. It is my comedically inspirational show, October 22nd in Nashville, and I got one happening December 3rd in Las Vegas at the win. And then that should be it for the year. But would love for you guys to come out. So get your tickets on Friday.
Starting point is 00:37:32 Scoo, Steve is our executive producer, which means he's calling the shots from behind the glass. Scova, what's happening in your personal life right now? So we have a third child coming, and my wife is now looking at this situation as, do I continue on working or do I move forward with being a stay-at-home mother? Has she ever been a stay-at-home mom? Never. She's worked since she's 15 years old, so almost 20 years. So on the third kid, now you guys have to make that decision based on how much it would cost for child care? Yes, it's kind of outweighing that.
Starting point is 00:37:57 Like how much money she's bringing in versus what we pay for that. almost breaks even. So it's not worth it to have the nanny anymore. So if it breaks even, well, but what about her mental health? Because if she doesn't want to do it, but still, let's say it does help a bit financially, I mean, how she feels about it, it's got to be a big deal, right? That's the biggest concern is that. Because you've done something for so long, like imagine you leaving radio to become a state home father. That'd be cool, but it'd be very tough because you're changing up what you've always known and her independence and going to work and just all those things that you're not going to have anymore because you're tied to three kids at home,
Starting point is 00:38:28 can't go anywhere. These conversations have been had between you, this is the first time we've talked about her on the show. Can you imagine? Scooper would do that crap and be like, I'm really nervous about talking to her about it. What's the conversation been like for you too? So we've been talking about for the last few months, just outweighing the financial side of things, which is the most important because we have to pay for ourselves and pay for them. But then, of course, the mental side of things.
Starting point is 00:38:50 And we've made the decision for her to walk away from work and it's going to happen at the end of this month. So she's doing it. Who really wanted that to happen? I think, well, I've always wanted it. Like when I took this job initially and when I left L.A. and moved here to Nashville about two years ago, we had kind of a conversation and she promised me she'd be a stay-at-home mother, but then a month or so later she went right back to work.
Starting point is 00:39:12 And I have to respect that as her husband and her partner to say that she wants to go back to work. I understand that. At the time, we could afford our lifestyle without her going to work, but she wanted it so I gave it to her. But now we're at a point with three children. She's got to stay home. So you really wanted it.
Starting point is 00:39:26 I really wanted it from the start and now, yes. I want my wife raising my children. Nothing wrong with anyone else. Here we go. She's great. But my mom was a stay-at-home mom, and she raised us and gave us all our foundations and everything. And I would like for my wife to be that as well. So based on how you grew up, you want to make your wife do that?
Starting point is 00:39:50 Yes. How does she feel about it still? Well, she's very nervous. She cried at her last meeting last week because she has to live. leave this job that she loves. So it's very tough. With three kids, could you have afforded for her to go to work? Yes, she can go to work.
Starting point is 00:40:06 But then it's almost like, what's the point of going to work? You're paying for the nanny and then there's no money left over. Her desire to work. Yeah, and she's not raising your kids. So that's also, you've got to take that into account. Here's the thing that stands out to me. Well, first of all, we can't pass down how we were raised and things. Like, we can't bring that into our own lives as much as we want to.
Starting point is 00:40:25 You have to like forge your new way. Then she promised you she would do it. And then when she got here, she realized, oh, shoot, that's not really what I wanted to do. So she went back to work. That speaks volumes to me here about what she really wants. But do you think she promised you that she would do it only to satisfy you at that time that she really didn't even want to do it then? Maybe. That could have been that.
Starting point is 00:40:46 She gave it a try and then was like, oh, gosh. It was like only a month, though. It wasn't much of a try. Month. Oh. Oh, I, that wasn't much, wasn't much of a try. Wow. Okay.
Starting point is 00:40:58 Amy, go ahead. I'm sorry. I just, no, I just feel for her because, you know, I always thought whenever I became a mom, I would leave this show. And there was actually times where, I mean, if I had gotten pregnant, I had thought, well, I'm going to be a stay of mom. So I might as well quit. I got to raise a baby. And then it worked out to where I adopted older children that would go into school, so I never had to. but I think had it come down to it, I would have tried to stay with the show because I love my job.
Starting point is 00:41:25 I love what I do. And even though I had made that promise to my husband and our family and that's what I said I was going to do, I would have gone back on it and it probably would have been a difficult conversation in our home too. So I get where Steve is coming from. But you have to do what's best for her mentally. She's going to resent you. Especially if you can afford it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:44 I feel like she's being bullied into this a little bit. Listen, if you want to be a stay-at-home mom, that's awesome. I think that's amazing. But it's, you know. It's not for everybody. Right. It's for some people and those stay at home moms or stay at home dads. Yes.
Starting point is 00:41:59 You're a bit, you're a fundamental reason. You're the reason your child has whatever they have, right? I mean, you're there with them every day. You're making a difference. But if you don't want to do it, if it's, I don't think you're a good, I don't think you can be a good one if you don't have the desire to actually do it. And it doesn't mean you love your kids any less or they're going to be less supported in any way. but scuba i would encourage you to talk to someone about it
Starting point is 00:42:22 he just did he talked to us no we're not experts and he talked to his wife she made a promise i think he made her promise i think he made her make a promise right and she tried it not really much of a try a month i mean imagine if you had a kid and you said hey i want you to go try college and they go for a month that's not for me would you be like okay cool you know you gave it a try or would you be like no you need to stick it out pretty good sample size Stick it out for a semester. Scoba. Can she, okay, make a deal. Okay.
Starting point is 00:42:50 Have her do a semester. Okay. Semester if you can stay home by. Yeah, stay at home mom. Okay. No, I'm just using what lunchbox is saying. And say, hey, look, absolutely. I understand your desire to not be home all the time with the kids.
Starting point is 00:43:04 So what if you do it this time for four months and after four or five months, you still are like, I don't think this is for me. We can actually readdress that. Yeah. And I think you leave the option open for both of you. she doesn't feel like she's being painted into a corner or has painted herself into a corner by saying this. Now I've got to live up to my promise. I promise that you made her give anyway.
Starting point is 00:43:24 Honestly. Okay. And Amy brings up a great point. You are holding her to your standard because of your mom. Okay. Now it would be a great compromise if after a few months she still was to stay at home mother, but to satisfy the need of going to work, she works from home, like part-time. But I think probably people that want to work, it's more about a social.
Starting point is 00:43:44 Getting out. Yeah. We'll go out and do stuff. No, no. Just you. She sees you all the time. Yeah. Well, I'm here a lot, but yeah, she'll get to see me more, maybe.
Starting point is 00:43:53 Maybe. Okay, this is all I'm going to say. Okay. I love it that you guys are having these conversations about your kids. That's great. Yeah. I think she promised you initially only to go, okay, this will never happen. Or she gave it a shot.
Starting point is 00:44:05 And then she gave it a shot and didn't like it. She didn't like it this time either, buddy. Okay. Yeah, like, I just think that this needs more conversation with experts. And you should open yourself up to therapy. Yeah, I'll talk to both you the same time. Yeah. I'll say this to her too.
Starting point is 00:44:20 But instead of saying forever, say, let's try it for four or five months, make a number and say, let's readdress it then. And if you're just absolutely not happy, let's figure out how to make you happy. Okay. Okay. That's good advice. Three, I vote three months.
Starting point is 00:44:34 I feel like four or five six weeks a long time. How long is a semester? No, no, a semester's too long. She's not a college student. She is an adult woman. And she, it's like, I can't even believe we're having to give her this. Okay, four months, scuba. I said five minutes, four months. Okay, four months. That's a good compromise. That sounds like a semester to me. Yes, it is. All right, scuba. Good luck, buddy.
Starting point is 00:44:52 Thank you. Do you want to say when you're having your next kid? Can you? Yeah, it's January. January, I think January 6 is the due date. And she's leaving? Yeah, she's leaving at the end of this month. She's out. And she cried. She cried. She already has a replacement set up. I know he said last meeting. She cried, but I didn't know. Yeah, she's gone. Good luck, buddy. Thank you. I appreciate it. Or at least talk about it. Scooba said that him and his wife were having a third baby, and they made a deal that she would stay home. Sounds like he made the deal and she just, I guess.
Starting point is 00:47:42 This happens more than we think. and I'm very frustrated. Yeah. Yeah, it's frustrating, Scooby. To hear you talk about it like that. We came to some sort of an agreement. Some sort as you were like, this is what we should do. And she's like, okay, I guess.
Starting point is 00:47:55 Maybe a little bit of that, yeah. Right. That's okay. Maybe it works. Yeah, we'll see. Let's hear from Amanda in Oklahoma. Amanda, thank you for calling the show. What would you like to say about the situation?
Starting point is 00:48:06 I'd say, first off, congrats on the baby. That's huge. I've got three. Secondly, I can say I've been on both sides of this. And whenever you are a stay-at-home mom and then you go back to work and then, like, for instance, COVID shut everything down. And then I was in my kids were in my bubble 24-7, right? And mentally, it was incredibly difficult. Also, I didn't have the patience that I had for them before.
Starting point is 00:48:31 So I think that if you're forcing your wife to kind of see your side more than her side, I think that's going to be a problem. because it takes a lot more patience than I think anybody realizes being a stay-at-home mom. I don't think moms get enough credit. And also, I'm a single mom. I didn't plan on that when I got married at 17. I thought I was going to do this life with somebody. So I think that Bobby had originally mentioned her mental health. I think that could become an issue as well.
Starting point is 00:49:04 So maybe be more patient with her and more gracious with her, especially in the beginning because it's incredibly impossible when you make that sort of an adjustment. I appreciate that, Carl Amanda. I hope you have an awesome day. Thanks. I just hope she doesn't resent you because that will fester. That's my biggest worry is the resentment because that can be a bad thing. But I also feel like this is a great opportunity to be there for your children.
Starting point is 00:49:31 Like how cool is that experience to be able to see your children in that one time of their life as an infant and a toddler? I would love to do it. Let her work. Let her work and you stay home. So you're okay with me leaving the show and doing that? If that's a decision that you wanted to make, of course. Maybe this will go in a different direction. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:44 I mean, if it's so, so important, like you're saying, like you get one shot, if you came to me and said, I'd really like to stay home and raise the kids, I would say, that's awesome. You should always pursue and chase what fulfills you. Yeah. And I think maybe you should think about it. Let her go back to work. And if you need to go, next man up here.
Starting point is 00:50:01 Oh, I don't know. Scuba, be real, though. I don't think she probably makes enough to support, right? That's probably the problem. You bring the bacon. We have no idea what she makes. Why are you assuming? My wife can make a lot of money in other cities, not here in Nashville.
Starting point is 00:50:14 But that's okay because you can move. You can move. You're a stay-at-home dad. Gosh, this conversation just. How does that sound to you? That actually sounds pretty cool. I look at my kids and like, man, I leave him every morning. I'd love to be able to stay in bed with him and cuddle and just play games.
Starting point is 00:50:26 Because that's what it's all about. It's all about. I don't think they stay in bed for very long. What's the odds you actually look into being a stay-at-home dad as soon as this segment is over? Zero. 30% odds. That you look into. it. What are the odds you actually do it?
Starting point is 00:50:40 30%. I love this career so much. And I put some of it into it. Okay, she loves hers. I know she does. I know, but I put a lot into this career. Flip coin. There we go. It's worked before. That's true. They didn't move here because of a coin flip. Let's talk to Karen, who is on the phone.
Starting point is 00:50:56 Hey, Karen, we appreciate your call on the Bobby Bone show. What do you want to say? Yeah, good morning. I just wanted to say that, you know, if money isn't a factor because scuba could you know cover everything then you don't need to be considering whether or not it's just going to be a flat cost because of daycare because that's a short-term issue it's an issue right now this year but you're taking out all of her growth opportunity you're taking out the thought of all of her raises that she would be getting over the years so you know when I started daycare and everything like that with my kids I wasn't making very much and it was the same situation but fast forward five 10 years and our family is way more financially stable than we ever could have been. And so I think
Starting point is 00:51:39 it's a bigger, it's a small, small decision that you have to make based on financials because that's just a short-term issue. So really you need to be basing this off of what she wants and what you want out of your family. And it doesn't sound like you guys are very aligned on that. They're aligned and Scoob said it. And they both heard it, I guess, after he said it. Karen, I appreciate that call. I think that is a great insight and a different perspective the way been thought about, so thank you very much. Yeah, you're welcome. Can you guys hear the crowd?
Starting point is 00:52:07 What are they saying here? Stay at home, stay at home, stay at home. Yeah. Do it, scuba. Steve. Stay at home dad. Yeah. I could be a father that I never had.
Starting point is 00:52:17 You could. That's what I look at, too, is I didn't have a dad. You're already going to be that even if you don't stay at home and you just stay with the kids. Very true. That's valid. Yeah. I mean, honestly, you're already ahead. Do you think he's really at 30%?
Starting point is 00:52:28 No. Okay. I think he's at it. I think he just wanted to throw a number out there on the show so I didn't look at a tough douche. You guys are being hard on Scover, man. We're just giving our honest perspective here. Let's do one more call.
Starting point is 00:52:39 This is Tammy and Charleston, South Carolina. Hello, Tammy. Good morning. Welcome to the show. Hi, good morning, everybody. Morning. I just wanted to say, so I'm actually a single mom now too as well, but when I was married to my ex-husband,
Starting point is 00:52:52 we had our little girl, we agreed, and we did a compromise or I would stay home for the first two years. Because, like your previous caller said, daycare is really only super expensive in the beginning, And it was the same situation where I wasn't bringing home enough to offset the amount we will be paying for a nanny for a newborn. But your other kids, your two other kids, Skibber, are older, right? So they're going to be not naning a nanny full time as the years go by. And your little one is going to get older and nannies are going to become more, less expensive.
Starting point is 00:53:21 So maybe there's a compromise you can do where she does get to stay at home those first two years. She can rest, let her body recover, be with a newborn baby and stuff too, which is kind of, an experience you don't want to miss. And then she can go back to work. I finished my bachelor's degree while I was doing it. That's pretty cool. Yeah. I like it.
Starting point is 00:53:41 I liked it. Scoo Steve is open to the idea of cuddling and playing games all day. Staying in bed. Yeah. Stay in bed, cuddling and playing games. You know what? I'm open to that too. If that's what it is, I'm open to that too.
Starting point is 00:53:52 Come over and play. Yeah, it sounds amazing. Tammy, thank you very much. I appreciate that. On Friday, we're going to put tickets up to the Nashville comedically inspirational show. to be the last one I do here, so if you guys want to come into town, tickets on sale Friday at Bobby Bones.com.
Starting point is 00:54:06 And there are just a few tickets left in Las Vegas at the Wynn. Same thing, BobbyBones.com. Don't buy the resale tickets, though, that are up. They're way too expensive. People have bought them and they're reselling them for, like, now $300 a ticket. It ain't the show ain't that good. It's worth like 60, 70, 80 bucks, but not 300. So don't buy those, but there are still like three rows of tickets
Starting point is 00:54:24 if you go to BobbyBones.com at the Winn Theater. Let's go and do the news. Come on. Bobby's Big Stories The Emmys were last night That's basically the TV awards Best Drama series went to Succession
Starting point is 00:54:39 It's a great show Best comedy series went to Ted Lasso Great show Best actress and a drama Went to Zendaya for Euphoria I'm sure it's great I don't watch it but I'm sure it's great Lunchbox
Starting point is 00:54:51 That seems like a show you would watch Great show Oh my gosh great show He loves teenage girls 16 to pregnant I'm sure it's a great show Because a lot of people talk about it but I just feels like a show of everyone here you'd watch.
Starting point is 00:55:01 Yeah, I'm definitely into it. Yeah. I can't even... No, no, Eddie, if you watch it, you'd be like, wow, this is amazing. But it is about high schoolers. It's about some high school people. Best actor and a drama, Lee Jung Jay from Squid Game. Awesome.
Starting point is 00:55:16 Yeah. I guess. I think it was awesome. Because I had words from somebody in English that was like talking over the top of it. And they weren't that good, the person that was doing the English. But I felt like he was pretty good in the show. His facial expressions were good. Best actress in a comedy series, Gene Smart for Hacks,
Starting point is 00:55:31 which Hacks is really good. And best actor in a comedy series, Jason Sadecas from Ted Lassau. Just a quick note, best supporting actor went to the beard. No, no, no. Oh, that is, the F word all the time.
Starting point is 00:55:45 Oh, and he said it on stage. Yeah. Roy Kent. Roy Kent. That's what we got there. Yeah, he said the F word on stage last night. I just haven't watched that show in a long time because I watched it as it came out.
Starting point is 00:55:57 So what's his song? What is Roy Kent song? Jamie has Jamie. The guy's name for the place Roy Ken is Brett Goldstein and he, you know, won the award, but he was just a writer for the show. And then he was like, man, I think I could do this role. And then just sent a tape over without telling them. It was like, hey, I'm doing this tape on the tape. If you think it's terrible, don't even bring it up.
Starting point is 00:56:18 And they were like, you would be right for that role. And so that's him now. He's perfect. He's so great. What's the Roy Kent's not? I don't remember. Mike, what is it? What is it?
Starting point is 00:56:28 If that's all it is, I really built it up. And it's love it in there. All right. Next up, robots will never take over the world. Says a robot. Whoa, that's kind of cool. No, it's not. Coming from the robot.
Starting point is 00:56:42 No, if I was a robot too, I'd be saying that as well. I assure you, if I was a robot ready to take over the world, do you know what I would say? We are not here to take over the world. We love you. Give me a hug. That's snap a neck. You wouldn't be telling the truth. Got it.
Starting point is 00:56:55 A humanoid robot described as. the world's most advanced has reassured people that we cool, hey, hey. We cool, we cool, we cool. So it was developed by this, you know, really forward space age company, and they said there's no need to worry robots will never take over the world and that the robot themselves said we're here to help and serve humans, not replace them. That's what I would say to. Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 00:57:18 Yeah, that's from Daily Mail. So I don't trust them. I do not trust them. Sleep disruptions may be linked to mental health disorders. I mean, I slept like garbage last night For no reason. Went to bed at 830 or 9. I wasn't feeling great
Starting point is 00:57:33 Even though I needed to watch Snake in the grass last night, I didn't get to because I fell asleep. But then I woke up at like 12.30. I haven't been to sleep since. Oh. I couldn't sleep. I woke up anxious like this.
Starting point is 00:57:46 Like my heart just pounding. No idea why. But probably could be, let me check this story here. I'm going to find out. I'm going to diagnose me here. There's a link between poor sleep and several mental health disorders.
Starting point is 00:57:57 Oh, great. These mental health disorders include anxiety, which I definitely had kind of back. It was back. Tourette syndrome and autism, researchers say, according to a press release from the University of California, Irvine, that all of this,
Starting point is 00:58:10 and that sleep and circadian rhythm, is a psychopathology factor, and all of these mental illnesses are affected by it. Listen, it starts to use big words that I don't understand. But sleep is so important. We say it all the time. Sleep in water. Two of the most highly rated but still underrated things that we need to really function and to be healthy.
Starting point is 00:58:31 Sleep and water. We do all these things. We eat all these things that sleep and water are really the keys there. That story is from Fox News. The reasons social media will make you get a divorce from the Huffington Post. Everybody sits up straight and listens. Number one, screen time takes away from relationship talks at night after work. Number two, partners aren't honest with who they are talking to online.
Starting point is 00:58:54 Wow. Oh, in the DMs? Yeah, I mean, it's just anywhere or just on a side, I guess. You know, or... Scoba, didn't you find your ex-wife on a site? Yes, she was cheating on me on Ashley Madison, which was a site for married people to cheat on. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:12 And so this is you. This is me all the way, baby. Can you tell me when you... Your instant reaction to that, like, how did you feel instantly, sad, mad, rage, I don't know. What's the first feeling? Rage, disappointment,
Starting point is 00:59:29 and like me trusting in you, moving across the country and then doing this. So, deceit. Yeah. That was just angry. Were you so much angrier than sad? When did sad hit you? Sad hit me when I was in a big city like San Francisco all by myself
Starting point is 00:59:46 and supporting myself. I mean, I've done in the past, but you go somewhere with somebody thinking you have a future and a potential family. And then it all goes away and you're like, you feel like a loser. You feel like, what did I do wrong? It's just, it's a terrible feeling to be in. This is not Scoob's wife now, by the way.
Starting point is 01:00:02 No, no, no, no. My ex-wife, yes. My wife is amazing. So whenever you were on this site and you found that she was cheating and she was sending pictures to dudes and you didn't confront her. I remember you sent them to her dad. Yes, I did. I'm still one of those ball and movies that ever heard of my life.
Starting point is 01:00:15 When I think about some of the coolest moves I've ever heard, fictional and not, that's like one or one-A. Like you to be have that much rage and to go I'm not going to say anything to her I'm going to take the pictures and send him to her dad in email and her dad was old and he didn't check email every day. Yes it was like a week or so later but it's like a day it's the same dose she gave me behind my back so I did the same thing to her. How did you not say something to her?
Starting point is 01:00:39 It took everything in me not to but I knew the only way to get through to her was going to her father so I had to let that play out. Wow. He has he will never look at his daughter the same like literally. Yeah. Yeah. Thank you, Scuba. You're welcome.
Starting point is 01:00:54 And other reasons, everybody else's marriage looks better in comparison on Instagram. Instagram's a curated list of pictures that you want to show people of your best of. Don't forget that, folks. That's what it is. It's everybody's best of. Facebook, too. We can put them all in the same group there. And then finally, too much personal information was shared, which leads to embarrassment and distress if you are sharing.
Starting point is 01:01:14 Like, oh, my wife farted. Oh, yeah. You don't do that. Yeah, don't do that. Don't do that. That's from the Huffington Post. First time father's brains shrink by up to 2% after the birth of their baby. So they get a little dumber. Eddie, what do you think about that? Yeah, I mean, I'm pretty dumb. I can't remember anything.
Starting point is 01:01:31 Oh, you, no, no, no, because of the baby. I mean, sure. I think I was smarter before I had kids. Why? I have no idea. How I sleep. Oh, that could be it. But I slept fine every time my kids were babies. My wife's the one that got up and took care of everything.
Starting point is 01:01:45 So I don't know if that's the reason why. Okay. They say that it helps dads actually connect with their kid when they get dumber, though. Oh, like, who do you do? You start talking to like. But you're not talking like. That's just how you talk now because you're a lot dumber. Okay, okay.
Starting point is 01:01:58 Let me do one more here. Happiness from your team winning lasts longer than hearing the words I love you. Oh, if Arkansas wins, I'm good for a week. Such if it's a big game, like I'm good. If they lose, I'm bad for a month sometimes. Like. A month? I'm just, yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:15 But I'm just sad. Even if, because it's, because it's, there's a game every week, so even if they win the next week, it just depends. If it's a big game, it really hurts. Like, I live, like, live my life for three things at this point. And they're not going to be, I'm going to put my wife first, and then I'm going to put, Are you about to say no particular order? Yeah, no order.
Starting point is 01:02:34 No, I'm going to put them in order. I'm going to put them in order. My wife first. Okay. And then Arkansas football on this job. Yikes. Wow. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:44 Oh. You put Arkansas football above your livelihood. Well, those two are no order. Who knows? Depending on the day. But I'm telling you. I just, I don't know. It's the one consistent through my whole life that's been there for me.
Starting point is 01:02:56 Not to get sad, but it's always been there from age five or six. You could just watch it on TV. We had a clothes hanger that we, because we couldn't afford cable. We put the clothes hanger on. We could get the local stations. We'd watch the football games on like Jefferson Pilot, or I would. And they were David Letterman and Arkansas football. I knew regardless of wherever my mom was, I knew my dad wasn't there.
Starting point is 01:03:16 I knew my grandmother. There were two things I could always find, and it was Arkansas football or basketball, and David Letterman on NBC and then over to CBS. Aren't you tired a little bit, though, like basing your moods on a football team? No. But, like, really, like, you have no control,
Starting point is 01:03:34 and if they lose, it's just like, oh, I can't do anything about it. Are you talking to him? Like, are you talking to yourself? Because you do the same thing. Oh, I agree with him. That's what I'm saying, but you get tired of it after a while. I know that, and I apologize sometimes to Kaelin beforehand.
Starting point is 01:03:46 And she's sometimes like, oh, please, God, let him win. I would too if it took you a month to recover. It is. I'm not proud of it. I've gotten a little better. It used to take a year. Oh, baby steps. You're getting there. End of the season.

Starting point is 01:06:10 Search Fremont Street Experience for the full lineup and date. Abby, how long have you been single? Five months, six months, I think. Oh, no, less than that. Your last boyfriend you had for how long? About six months, I think. How long were you single before that?
Starting point is 01:06:30 Two years. It's been a long time. You've been looking. Can you tell, yeah. Yeah, you've been looking. Yeah. And did you ever say what happened with that last boyfriend on this show?
Starting point is 01:06:39 I don't think I really did. No. Yeah, she said he just ghosted. Like he said, I'm out. Like, peace. Basically. He's not into it. He had that near-death experience.
Starting point is 01:06:48 And then he just said, I'm going to stay in my hometown. I ain't got time. I don't think we talked about that, though. No, we did. We did on the air where she was like, he just decided that he had other priorities or something vague like that. Yeah, that sounds about right. I don't think I said too much. Is that not it?
Starting point is 01:07:06 No, that's it. I don't know. I don't probe after we get off the air. I never pull anyone aside and go, hey, give me more to this. Yeah, I don't ever want to know more because I don't want to slip up here on the show. So anything we talk about it, I just want to know what's set on the air. So, Abby, you've been trying. I like that.
Starting point is 01:07:20 Going at it, you're going on dates. How are you meeting guys? On Hinge, the online dating app. You like it? No. No. I went on my last date. I'm not going again.
Starting point is 01:07:31 On any dates at all? My online date. I don't want to meet anyone from an app anymore. But isn't that the way that most people are meeting now? I guess, yeah. I don't know how. How else are you going to meet? people. Great question. Library. Grocery store. I mean, that's romantic. Library. It's a Hallmark
Starting point is 01:07:48 movie. Yeah. I think even though it's been unsuccessful, I think getting on the apps is probably consistently your best bet. But that's okay. I want to hear about your last story. So you meet a guy. What is, what attracted you to him on the app? He was super cute, hard worker. He's really athletic like he does triathlons. He show you his abs in the picture? Some guys do that. He had like sleeveless shirts on, but... Okay. Yeah, no like gym selfies or anything. Still sound like you're into it with the tone.
Starting point is 01:08:15 Okay. Yeah, she had like sleeveled shirts on. She bites her lip. No. So you guys match and you meet up. But what kind of place do you go to? We just went to a local coffee shop. And what I forgot at the time is because I'm not having much luck in Nashville.
Starting point is 01:08:29 So I was like, I'm going to expand my radius, right? But I forgot I put 100 plus miles. So he actually, he lives in Alabama. But he drives up here. So then he must. He must have had his radius on over 100 plus as well. Well, he is looking for someone in Nashville. Okay.
Starting point is 01:08:45 Basically. So, yeah, we met at a coffee place, and then he told me that he comes to Nashville every weekend to find a wife. Like, I quote, to find a wife. What the, why would you say that? Yeah, it's weird. I mean, if you're doing that okay, we all have our motives. But you don't say that to somebody that might be a wife.
Starting point is 01:09:04 And does he want to move here? Is that the goal? No, no. He just wants the dating world is not great, where he is. So he kind of stacks his dates, basically. So Thursday night, he took one to a concert. Well, he tells you all. Again, I have no problem with this. I just don't think it's the most effective method of getting someone to go to the next level. But go ahead. Yeah, so he's just asking me about myself. And then as I'm talking, he's like, oh my gosh, shoot. And I was like, what? He's like,
Starting point is 01:09:31 oh, no, I shouldn't say this. I was like, no, go for it. And he's like, I bought all these pastries for my last date and I forgot to give them to her. This guy's an idiot. He's not like somebody who's honest. You know, we just love somebody. This guy's an idiot. Yes, I need to see this. I shouldn't say this.
Starting point is 01:09:45 I forgot to give my last date the pastries. You would swipe right. Amy, if you saw him on here, you would approve of him. That's why I was so confused. Do you have a picture of him right now? I do. Can you bring it in here with shit. Let me see.
Starting point is 01:09:56 Let me see what celebrity he looks like if I had to pick one. Because apparently he's got scrumptious arms. So why is he acting like that? I don't know. Is it possibly make them jealous or is just a dumb dumb dumb? Right. Because that's one of the two. Both?
Starting point is 01:10:11 It won't be on camera. You can show me. Yeah, he's a good-looking guy. Did he look that way in person? And he looks, he's not trying to show off. He's got on like a blue button up and you don't see any abs or even arms. He just sees him, he's smiling. What celebrities does it look like?
Starting point is 01:10:29 I would say like a slightly more muscular BJ Novak with short hair. Okay, from the office. From the office? Like Ryan, the temp. That guy. which short hair. Yeah, I get it. Thank you, Abby.
Starting point is 01:10:45 Show me the picture. Yes, I'd like to see, please. It's just weird that you would say that. Oh my gosh, that is so... You nailed the celebrity part. Thanks. I see it. That is, yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:54 Okay. I love these questions they ask, and they have to answer. Some of them now, the person who cuts my hair says they can leave their voice on there and say something in voice. Is that on hinge? Oh, they do that? That's cool. You can do voices sounds so you can hear what they can.
Starting point is 01:11:10 That feels that part of it. Because how would you, that just feels, hey, it's me, BJ. Noback. If you're looking for a man. Wow, he's good at golf. Okay. Yeah, I could see how you ended up on a date with him, but that is unfortunate that his brain did not match. You know?
Starting point is 01:11:28 Yeah, I wonder his motivations. Abby's walking back into the other room for the microphone. Hey, Abby, what do you think his motivations were to tell you that? Is he just a dumb dumb or was he trying to make you jealous? I don't think he was trying to make me jealous. I think he was just trying to be honest and say that's like what his intentions are. I get that and I can respect it this early though probably not the move. And then also to go like, oh, forgot something.
Starting point is 01:11:51 I shouldn't tell you. No, that's dumb dumb move. I shouldn't say. Wait, so how long did the date last? About an hour. And at the end, yeah, I was like, I have to be somewhere at one. I have like 15 minutes. It's a noon date.
Starting point is 01:12:03 It went on a lunch date. He put you in a lunch box. Yeah. He had one later. He probably had three later. He put his prime time option at dinner. She had plans too. She had something at one.
Starting point is 01:12:15 So at 15 minutes you gave him a warning. And? And he was like, I think I know all I need to know. He said that? I've asked everything. And I was like, okay. So did you get the job? It sounds good to me.
Starting point is 01:12:25 No, that's what it felt like. It seriously felt like an interview. I wanted to be like, yeah, when do I start? Did you want to start? Well, no. No, no. So what's happening? more dates with him? No, no. I kind of
Starting point is 01:12:40 ghosted him. I never ghosted. I kind of did it. But did he hit you back up? Yeah. After like a week, probably after the others, like, what did he say? Oh, I don't remember. Something about running. Well, she made the callback. Why would she give up on that? He was inviting me to go running. It's her second audition. She complains about people ghosted and then she does the same thing. I feel not, I'm never feeling sorry for Abby again. No, because everything he did was ghost worthy. I feel like, okay. Is anything really ghostworthy?
Starting point is 01:13:07 Yeah, I got to say, hey, I'm out. Hey, bro, this ain't for me. You didn't bring me any pastries. Yeah. You know, we're taking other girls' pastries. Yeah, I should have said something. Can I get a bear claw? Can't even get a bear?
Starting point is 01:13:16 Freaking bear claw. Bear claws are good. Abby, if I can offer you any encouragement, one of my friends is dating someone from Hinge and they're probably going to get married. Hinge. I think you have to stay on the apps. Yeah. It's just where the numbers are.
Starting point is 01:13:32 And dating's a numbers game. You just got to do it and do it and do it. And it doesn't work until finally it does. Until finally it catches. Not the library? It's just like a slow day on the lake. You know, you keep your hook in the water. Oh, fishing, got it.
Starting point is 01:13:45 You know, they're not biting. All right, but you definitely aren't going to catch anything unless you keep your hook on the water. And most days, you're going to catch a lot of fish. But every once in a while, you catch something, catch something nice. But only in your lifetime, you catch a couple that are mount worthy. Wow, dude. That's what you're trying to do.
Starting point is 01:14:00 You're trying to mount one of those homies, you know what I'm saying? That's right. On the wall. On the wall. Double. Yeah. Whatever. Hey, whatever, you know? Whatever. Wait, should we get her on that? One of my other friends is on that celebrity one.
Starting point is 01:14:12 No, don't get on that. Stop. Stop. Oh, no, I have heard of that one. Don't get on that one. Why? You're not celebrity one. Oh, I had fun going through my friends, whatever, and you see the different country artists that are on there, and it's so funny. Don't get on that one, Abby. It's bad news. Okay. Well, I can't. You probably could.
Starting point is 01:14:30 You could get an invite. Stop. Anybody get. I got to say I did sign up for that, but. And you didn't get invited in? there's a wait list. Yeah, they say that to people they don't want to end. Oh, that's okay.
Starting point is 01:14:42 That's okay. My friend got on. My friend. Okay, yeah. Who cares? You don't need them. I mean, this is some audio from Chris Collinsworth,
Starting point is 01:14:51 who on Sunday night, Cowboys and Buccaneers were playing, which, by the way, Buccaneers won, and we bought them as our team on Draft Kings, right? We all put our money in. They don't know.
Starting point is 01:15:00 Yes, we do. So we can make some money. We pulled our money, and I believe we had 500 bucks I have it in my account here and we can win like 4,000 if they win the Super Bowl
Starting point is 01:15:13 which is pretty cool but during the game Chris Collinsworth was like talking but he had injured his voice sounded terrible play one of these clips yeah one of the things that they're going to try and do the Cowboys tonight is they're going to try to get Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott on
Starting point is 01:15:27 the field together maybe a few of those kind of trick plays just like that Kellan Moore scheming one up early on this one Hey, let's celebrate. You feel fine. I feel great. You feel fine. It's just two games, three days, red eyes, a bunch of travel. My man's playing. Hurt. I felt bad for him because I had to do the show like that before.
Starting point is 01:15:46 I got a sore throat or I got allergies, but he had done so many games where he had blown his voice. Like, it's probably okay to get a sub. So he's a commentator or player? He's played for the Bengals back in the day, but now he's a player. Got it. But the whole game is like, he's this. You can't do anything about it, dude. It's so sad.
Starting point is 01:16:05 Yeah, they should take it some old clips of them. They just like, right? Just play those. So I felt pretty bad for him. Just having it done it. We bet $500 as a group, we put all our money in.
Starting point is 01:16:16 And if the bucks won the Super Bowl, we went $4,000. And it was just, we drew, everybody put a team in and we drew in the bucks as who we drew. So we'd like to win that money. And then we have to decide, do we try to double up then?
Starting point is 01:16:28 If they win the Super Bowl, we have $4,000 bucks. Do we go to Vegas and put on a rent? I mean, there's just a lot, a lot of options. possibility. Do we just tip a waiter with it? No. No, no, we're not going to do. Absolutely not. How great with that? Wait, wait, wait, I've already voted no.
Starting point is 01:16:41 Well, let's see if we win. But there's a tipping story about lunchbox that I don't know quite all of it. But I teased it yesterday. We didn't have time to get to it. But Eddie brings it. He said he has a story. He'd like to share and I trust without knowing what it is. What happened? Okay, so me, scuba lunchbox, we take our families. I mean, it's a party of 15. We say, let's go to lunch. And we all go. And it takes a while to get the table together. But it's a huge table. with 15 people, all our kids. And the server is starting to get a little frustrated because the ordering process is getting tough.
Starting point is 01:17:10 Kids, parents, or whatever. So when they got to Lunchbox, they said, what are your sides? And lunchbox was like, I don't have my side. I don't see sides on here. And so the server gets upset. She says, should he have known his sides by that point? We all knew the sides.
Starting point is 01:17:24 And it had taken a long time to get to him. Yes. And he said, I don't see the side. So she said, you know what? I don't have time for this. I'm going to move on the next table. So we all had to wait because Lunchbox wasn't ready. And he's like, did you see how she treated me?
Starting point is 01:17:36 So he got upset. So at the end of the lunch, it was time to pay for the bill. He goes, I don't know if I can tip her. I'm like, dude, this was a table of 15 people. How are you not going to tip her? So scuba, you were there. Did you see that? Because I know lunch is going to have a lot to say.
Starting point is 01:17:52 Did you see? And what was your perspective? Well, I mean, it was a little bit of a mess of a scenario because we had 15 people. She did go to him. He wasn't ready. And then I was kind of upset because I'm hungry. And then I got skipped out. I'm putting my food in.
Starting point is 01:18:03 So I'm sitting there for a long time. He even jokingly said, should we die in Dash? Because she never came back. And I'm like, you were asking to just run away? Like run out. And I said, I'm going to go to the bathroom real quick.
Starting point is 01:18:13 I'll be right back, guys. Yeah, he's going to do that. He's going to leave with his whole family. Should he have had his order already? He should have most definitely, because we've been sitting there for like 25, 30 minutes. Oh. Was she justified to be irritated?
Starting point is 01:18:24 A little bit, but I think it was kind of unprofessional for her to be like, I'm going to the next table now. Most people would be like, they kid around and then get your sides and then move on. So almost on her side, it was a little unproductive to continue on to another table and then still have to come back to us. So it was wrong on both sides.
Starting point is 01:18:41 Was he wrong to not want to tip her at all? I think docking her tip, like maybe taking a little bit off is okay, but not tipping her at all. I think that's unfair. What's your story, lunchbox? Here's the thing. This is a breakfast place I usually go to for breakfast. I'm not there for lunch very often. So I don't know what the lunch sides are.
Starting point is 01:19:00 There was nowhere. Did everybody not order around you? No, they had breakfast. They all got breakfast. And I said, I ordered a lunch item. And she goes, what do you want for your sides? I said, I don't see the sides anywhere. She goes, do you want eggs as your side?
Starting point is 01:19:11 And I said, no, can you show me where the sides are? She goes, they're not on that menu. And I said, okay, so what are they? She goes, you need to be more prepared. I'm moving to the next table. And I'm like, excuse me? If it's not on the menu. You said it just like this?
Starting point is 01:19:23 Just like that. So he did it? Just like that. And I said, if it's not on the menu, how is that my fault? And so she disappears for 13 minutes and 46. seconds. I timed it. She went to other tables. Then she brings me the little insert that goes in there for lunch that had the sides on it. Was she jammed? Was it tables below or like she couldn't even function because there's so many tables? The restaurant was packed. I understand that it was high stress level for sure.
Starting point is 01:19:48 Yeah, yeah. But her coming at me. I haven't said anything. Yeah. I'm listening right now. The menu does not have the sides that are for lunch. She had to give me a separate insert. It's not my fault that I was not given that at the beginning of the meal. And for her to tell me, I need to be prepared and then to disappear for 13 minutes and 46 seconds. Is that true, Eddie? Is what he saying true? Yes. I mean, everything's right.
Starting point is 01:20:09 I didn't time it. So I'm assuming that's that right time. She just disappeared to other tables and then she comes back. She goes, are you ready now? And I'm like, the insert. That's all true. It's all true. Yes.
Starting point is 01:20:18 And she did come back and go straight to lunchbox and say, are you ready now? So I'm like, no, no, no. This is not how you treat me. Like, you, I am here to order. You don't just tell me I should be prepared. Like, how can I be prepared? You said that? This is not how you do.
Starting point is 01:20:31 He said all that. Like, I don't understand how you can come up. Are people looking at the table? Is he doing this and it's loud? And people are like, what's happening? No, the restaurant's loud. It doesn't matter. It's a loud restaurant.
Starting point is 01:20:41 And I was just stunned at how she was like so mad at me for not having the information. So here's what I would say to that as someone who's weighed at tables and also had bad service. That was not a professional thing for her to do, especially if there wasn't an insert. So not a professional thing for her to react to you like that. What she should have done is said, Oh man, we really messed up there. If you can give me a second, I'll get that for you. I'm going to run over this table real quick
Starting point is 01:21:06 because I'm slammed right now. I'm so sorry. That'd have been the move. And then you'd have still been a bit delayed, but she wouldn't have given you attitude. And she would have been able to somewhat salvage her section. I understand her stress, but she can't take that out on you. It is very stressful when they even seat two or three tables at the same time.
Starting point is 01:21:26 Regardless, you've got a packed restaurant, when they would seat two tables at the same time with me, everybody's waiting. They're ready for you. You just sat a four top and a six top at the same time. I can't get to both of them at the exact same time. That's why they put people in different sections. And they're like, okay, go here with the section, go there with that section.
Starting point is 01:21:40 So she shouldn't have done that. But I would have hoped that as you have gotten older and matured that you would... She was older than me, so she should have been more mature. No, no, I'm talking about things that you're learning that you would have shown her a little grace and been like, she's having a bad day. She's a bad day. How about this? Oh, you know what?
Starting point is 01:21:58 Our sides are this, this and this. Boom. It's so simple. Hold on. She handled it wrong. It would have taken less time to give me the size than to tell me I need to be prepared. I'm just telling you how she handled it was not appropriate. How you handled it, I would have hoped that you could have said she's having a bad day.
Starting point is 01:22:16 Let me try to help it a little bit because I know that sucks. And third days it sucks for me. Yeah, okay. And then she disappears for 13 minutes and 46 seconds. Yeah, yeah. I mean, come on. But I'm not going totally against you here. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:22:27 I think you should have given her the normal tip. No, normal. No, no, no, no. normal. She didn't. You ever have a bad day? Like really bad day and like you're not as good. Somebody covers for you and you're like, thank God, man.
Starting point is 01:22:37 Because I was really not giving it the best. No. Never. Okay. He's perfect. And there you have it. I just don't understand how you think she deserved the normal tip. She didn't do the normal job.
Starting point is 01:22:47 She didn't treat me with her sight. It wasn't that she deserved it. It was that hopefully at times people have given to you or helped you when you maybe didn't deserve it either. I've always earned everything I got. It's hard to talk sensitive to them. It really is. When you sign up to be a waiter or waitress, you know you are going to have to earn something.
Starting point is 01:23:05 It shouldn't be just given to you. How do you know what you sign up for? I've waited tables for years. Have you worked in that industry? Yeah, I did. I worked at Ryan's Steakhouse buffet for about two days. Well, he's spoken. And he knows there.
Starting point is 01:23:18 What was your job? I was a waiter. Never not. Yeah, well, I mean, I was only there for two days because. And it was buffet. It was buffet. So all I did was bring drinks. And clean plates.
Starting point is 01:23:26 And clean plates, basically. Yeah. She wasn't in the right. That's what I'm saying. So when you're a waiter or waitress, you know how you act is what you're earning. You're not giving anything. And when you treat me like that, guess what? You don't deserve anything.
Starting point is 01:23:37 Well. Nothing. So you gave nothing? No, they made me give her something. Eddie and Scoob. I don't know what the final tip was, but we said, did you got to pay something? What about your wife? What was she thinking of you?
Starting point is 01:23:49 She was on. Is she dumb to it, though? No, she was like, what's going on? Like, why did she just, like, what happened? I agree. She shouldn't have acted like that to you. Like, it was like I was in school and I was getting scolded for not having my homework. No one's saying she's right.
Starting point is 01:24:02 No one's saying she's right. She was wrong. She was wrong. But there are days probably that you've had bad days and people have said, you know what? We're still going to, it's cool. It's cool. So that's all. Just like out for it. I was just like, I was looking out for it.
Starting point is 01:24:11 I was trying to be nice. And I was just like, I was stunned. Trying to be nice? Where? No, it sounded like you weren't nice at all. No, I was trying to order my food and get out. That's being nice. Okay.
Starting point is 01:24:20 Final thing. Here's my Jerry's Springer take of the day. So you say about 3% she deserved. No. I'm not saying I would have just given her normal. and that's all and been like, hope you have a great day
Starting point is 01:24:30 because there are days I've had really bad days and people have really come to bat for me. I did tell her, I hope she has a good day. I imagine it wasn't. It was a bit of sarcasm in it, huh? Yep.
Starting point is 01:24:40 Yeah, yeah. Okay, that's good. You did your deal? I'm not hating on you at all. I think Eddie was wrong for bringing it up, actually, on the show. Really? Eddie was trying to make me look bad,
Starting point is 01:24:47 but in reality it was like, this is the second time this happened where you've gone out of the E. Oh, it's always. He's always got some problem with somebody, but this one, I don't side against them totally. Really?
Starting point is 01:24:57 if somebody's acting like this is because something in their life is influencing their behavior that's not positive for them and hopefully you'll look at that as that not, well, she just sucks. Because something has happened. There's something in her life
Starting point is 01:25:09 that is affecting her to the way that she's making her act like that. And that stinks for her. And it stinks for you and everybody lost. And maybe when I go back, she'll be in a better mood. You should tell her.
Starting point is 01:25:17 Be like, hey, last time I came. We weren't very good. You should. So I came back to test you. Golly. Can you imagine? No. That food would have spit and hair in it.
Starting point is 01:25:26 I would not go back there if I was you. All right, 877-77, Bobby. That's our number. I'm going to do one call from John, who is in Baton Rouge, who has called about this. Let's go talk to John. What's up, buddy? Hey, good morning, Sergio. Morning.
Starting point is 01:25:44 Hey, this is for lunchbox. So I'm active in the military, so I deal a lot of high-stress people. Not everybody's going to have a good day, but it's our job as human beings to bring those people up. So you don't know, like Bobby said, you don't know what she might have been going through earlier. I know Eddie said that restaurant was packed. So you don't know what she might have been going through. But it's our job as humans to bring the next human up, regardless of the situation. Should you have had your size ready?
Starting point is 01:26:10 Probably. How would I have my side ready? I don't know. Listen, her uncle might have died. Yeah, personally, she could have stuff going on. Or our table. Guys, it was 50 people at table. It's a high stress situation.
Starting point is 01:26:23 Yes. But it's really not high stress. She made it high stress by saying. What side you get, by the way? What side you get? Oh, I definitely got okra and green beans. Yeah, solid. Two solid choices. Fried okra? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:26:33 Yeah, of course. 100%. 100%. 100. You should have ordered that the first time. That's right. Bobby Bones show. Don't head. Story of the day.
Starting point is 01:26:42 This story comes us from California. A 46-year-old woman was going to court for dealing drugs. She shows up to court. She goes through the metal detector. Bebe, beep, beep, beep. They're like, how long, ma'am, ma'am, can you pull to the side? search her, find more drugs. Do they have metal in the drugs?
Starting point is 01:26:59 I don't know, it just set it off. That's a good question. I don't know if she left her car keys in her pocket. She had them tied to her car keys. Maybe foil? Maybe wrapped in foil. Or Birkenstocks. Wrapped around her house key.
Starting point is 01:27:09 Make them go off. Yeah. Yeah, you're just taking drugs into court. Yeah, not good. All right. I'm lunchboxed. That's your bonehead story of the day. Morgan, why were you at the red carpet last night? What happened?
Starting point is 01:27:23 CMT reached out. Asked if we wanted to go and... What was the event? It was the Giants for Vince Gill. Like the New York Giants? They'd run some plays or what? That's cool. I don't know what that is.
Starting point is 01:27:34 So it's basically honoring Vince Gil. The whole night was all these big giants and country music coming out to honor the giant Vince Gil. Oh, that's cool. So what happened on the red carpet? Well, I got to interview Carrie Underwood and I nearly peed my pants. I freaked out. She walked up next to me. That would have gone viral.
Starting point is 01:27:49 I wish you would have. That would have gone viral and then we'd all won. Okay. How to go? Well, she walked up next to me. And I basically word vomited. And then I gathered myself and the rest of the interview went good, but I basically word vomited on Carrie Underwood.
Starting point is 01:28:02 So where is that? It was at the Belmont. No, no, no, like, where's that interview? Oh, it's coming. It's coming out this week. Like, so the show will air on Friday and we'll post all the social stuff this week. So were you out there working for CMT? Or are they just wanting you to cover it because they want a promotion for the show?
Starting point is 01:28:20 They wanted us to cover it. So I was working for our show, Bobby Bone Show and I Heart Country so we can post stuff. I'm familiar with it. Like our show, you know, the Bobby Bone show. Familiar with it, yes. I did see you went to a Titans football game, and you sat in the celebrity suite, and I got so many calls, and I didn't get to any of the voicemails, asking why if Lunchbox is such a celebrity, he didn't get invited.
Starting point is 01:28:40 But they hit you up on DM? Yeah, the Titans DM'd me. And they just asked for me to come and hang out in the Celebrity Suite. Hold on. The Tennessee Titans hit you up. How would they hit you up over me? Let me check my phone. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:28:54 Why do you think they hit you up over him? I don't know. Maybe they just saw my content. They wanted me to post from the Titans game. And they were like, oh, she'd be great to have in the suite. I mean, that's hilarious. You must have known someone. What do you mean hilarious?
Starting point is 01:29:06 Wait, what is he doing? What are you checking? I'm checking to see if they sent me one. Oh. No DMs? Not yet. Well, the game already happened. I understand.
Starting point is 01:29:16 But the Titans, they would want someone that's more popular than Morgan. Like, I mean. I have no idea. I just saw. I actually only knew it because we had so many voicemails asking about it. I don't even know Morgan had gone. except for everybody like his lunchbox mad he didn't get in the celebrity suite i had no idea she was even there didn't see it would you have gone and sat in the celebrity suite yeah probably i mean if they
Starting point is 01:29:36 they i mean wow i am shocked there's nothing from the tennessee titan you keep scrolling up and down nothing speaking of phones i finally saw a commercial on tv for this phone because i think more people need to see it because it's so cool there's a couple new phones but the one that i saw was the one that folds out it's the samson galaxy z fold four and you see the girl and she's like you're like She's on an app on one side of it. On the other side, she's like texting with someone. It's really cool. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.
Starting point is 01:30:03 It's the phone that allows you to multitask on an entirely new level. Again, a foldable screen. And she was using two, but you can use up to three apps at the same time. So you can email, you can be on Twitter. You can even, you know, get on a video conference. They also have the Z Flip 4 with a new sleek design. So it's like your own personal photographer. It takes great hands-free pictures and videos.
Starting point is 01:30:23 Put it in flex mode and set it down to capture incredible videos from in pictures from every angle. It's sleek, small, yet extremely powerful. It fits right in your pocket. You got to check them out. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4 are available now at Samsung.com. And you're hearing me talk about them, but I don't think it does it justice unless you go look at it at Samsung.com
Starting point is 01:30:44 or you see one of the commercials because just visually, they are really, really cool. So maybe you need that kind of phone lunchbox. I mean, go get the DMs there. Let me tell you, I've been over here on Instagram, typing in Titans, and it says, cannot make that thread. So that means they do not follow me and they did not DM me. Maybe they don't think you're a celebrity. I got a blue check.
Starting point is 01:31:05 M2 ain't got no blue check. That's true. But I went to the Titans game. That's also true. In the Celebrity Suite. Morgan, what's on the podcast today? Scoobes Steve shared some life-changing news happening in his life. Yeah, everybody wanted to call and talk about this.
Starting point is 01:31:19 It is life-changing. Yes. It is controversial a bit in how he talked about it. What else? You guys shared the things your partners have forced you to do with them and vice versa. Okay. And Abby went on arguably the worst date she's ever been on. Yes. So thank you all for listening to the show. Don't forget if you're in Vegas, you can get tickets to my comedically inspirational show. They're just up in the corners. I wouldn't buy the resale tickets. Yes, the seats are decent, but they're like 300 bucks. Just don't go. Don't come. I advise you not to come. Don't pay that kind of money for the show. But there are still tickets in the theater. There's like three rows. Then it's sold out completely. But we'd love to see you. That show is just.
Starting point is 01:31:54 December 3rd tickets over at Bobbybones.com. And the Nashville show goes on sale this Friday. Same place, bobbybones.com. All right, we'll see you guys tomorrow. Bye, everybody. Bobby Bone, come on. Air Tasker helps you get your weekends back. I need a screen printer.
Starting point is 01:32:10 And someone to wait in line for my Everything Bagel. Go to Airtasker.com or download the app. Local Taskers do anything. And everything. Air Tasker, get anything done.
