Starting point is 00:01:52 Morning, studio. Morning. So usually we come on and go around the room. I do want to just pivot for a second because we had an issue this morning. He's here. He's here on time for the show. But Lunchbox wasn't here by the time that he's normally here, and that's okay. Oh, we got to kick him out.
Starting point is 00:02:09 We don't because his car's dead. Oh. The Ultima's dead. Like dead dead? So I don't know. I wanted to wait to get on the air to talk about this. So it wasn't late for the show. But again, if your car dies, that's okay.
Starting point is 00:02:23 You can be late. He called. They were like, hey, lunch he's having car problems. I said, the Ultima? They were like, yeah. Is it dead? I said, yeah. So what happened?
Starting point is 00:02:31 Amy was right. Prayers don't work. What? No, no, nobody said prayers don't work. Amy said prayers don't work. When I asked, when I asked for prayer warriors. Nobody said prayers don't work. All these prayer warriors came out of the woodworks and they started praying for the Ultima.
Starting point is 00:02:45 But it did work. It did. And then Amy said, guys, the prayers don't work. That's just a false sign of life. What? She said none of that. She did. She said, you're going to have a spike in energy and that means it's the beginning of the end.
Starting point is 00:02:59 And then they're just going to go downhill fast. No, you did. You said that. I don't know what I said. I saw it with your mom and your dad. You said. Oh. Oh.
Starting point is 00:03:06 I said, yeah. Okay, she wasn't talking about your car. No, no, she did. She's talking about her mom and her dad who both passed away. Yeah, but she said, you pray. Your car's not the same as her mom and her dad, dude. Also, I have to, before people just take the sound bite of like, Amy said prayer doesn't work, I was sharing what my dad was on life support, so that didn't count.
Starting point is 00:03:24 But my mom, she was laying there, and yeah, you see them get a little bit more energy, and you've seen, like, doctors will say that this is true, and then you think, oh, wow, they're coming back, they're coming back, and then really, it's just a part of the process, and then that's when they pass shortly after that. That's exactly what she said. She said, prayers don't work. But that's not true. She said those prayers didn't really work.
Starting point is 00:03:43 You're having this moment where they're getting this energy back. Okay. And then it's going to pass. There's no need to fight the prayer thing, but you never said anything about prayers at all. I think what I was, what he's taking. He's taking what I said. What happened to the car? I don't care.
Starting point is 00:03:55 What happened to the car? So yesterday the check engine light came back on. I told you I just started driving it and it went away and it was running like a butte. And then I went out this morning and I did it. and it was just it starts shaking. The whole car? The whole car?
Starting point is 00:04:10 And I'm like, I turn it again. It was like a massage chair in the airport. I was like, okay, okay. Sometimes this happens. It takes about five times for it to, you know, boot up. And it just wouldn't boot up, man. It would just shake and bluh.
Starting point is 00:04:29 Won't start up, man. So it's not fully dead then. There's still signs of life. Yeah, there's signs of life. But this is what has been happening. every time this happens, I have to replace the spark plugs. And I just did that like a month ago. And he said if that happens again, then it's something deeper and it could cost a couple
Starting point is 00:04:45 thousand dollars to get in there and dig. And so now she's just sitting there and I have to decide what to do. I don't. Right. It's like life support, right, Amy? Okay, you can't compare. No, no, no. You can't compare your car to Amy's parents.
Starting point is 00:05:01 Right. But life support. Yes. I did. I did have to, yeah. I did have to, my sisters, and my brother and I, we gathered. We can't do that. We can't.
Starting point is 00:05:12 This is not good. We can rally around you. This is not good. And we can all be by your side when you have to do it. Sure. Yeah, because I'm the only one that has the power of attorney or power of will. You know what I'm saying? And so the medical power of will, is that what it's called?
Starting point is 00:05:25 Medical power of attorney. Yeah, there you go. That's what I have it. And so I have to make the decision on her. And I don't know what to do. Well, did she say, what is she? What do you think her wishes are? Do you think she wants to?
Starting point is 00:05:37 I think her, like, her, like, purring like that is her showing fight. Like, she's not ready to give up. But I don't know if she wants to spend, you know, $2,000 on her. I think she might. I have a feeling she'd like to have $2,000 spent on her. I think so. If it were me, I'd want that. Right.
Starting point is 00:05:53 And if you love her, that's what you do. So you should do that. Uh-huh. Does she want to be crushed or giving up her parts? Oh, no. Oh, she's definitely a donor. She's an organ donor. She's an organ donor for sure, 100%.
Starting point is 00:06:04 Like she has always talked about like she wants to carry on. If she can help someone else live, she wants that. Got it, got it, got it. Okay. Well, let us know soon what's happening. It's almost time for it. It's time for our new car, though. Should we try praying again? I would love, I mean, Amy said nothing about prayer not working and he just turns a story.
Starting point is 00:06:21 What he's saying is about that is that he said, the prayers are working, the prayers are working. And then I said, well, heads up, it could be that this is happening. So he's implying that I was saying the prayer. You literally said the prayers didn't work. This is what's happening. Well, he did it. Okay, we're going to start the show. So, yes, if you do want to pray today for the Ultima, that would be amazing.
Starting point is 00:06:40 It's Ultimate Dot. What kind of bird would have come back at? That's a great card. What should be a Cardinal? That would be a crow. I mean, probably most of them are Cardinals. The Ultima. A crow?
Starting point is 00:06:50 Pigeon. Yeah. Gray, his is a gray Ultima. Probably a gray pigeon. Great pigeon. Yeah. Or a morning dove. Just crapping everywhere.
Starting point is 00:06:57 A morning dove. A morning dove. A pigeon is crapping everywhere. A morning dove, I feel like, is like a higher. No, it's a higher. It's a higher. It's a higher class pigeon. You send us emails.
Starting point is 00:07:07 We read them. Let's open up the mailbag. You send an email and we read it on the air. It's something we call Bobby's Mailbag. Hello, Bobby Bones. I've been married to my husband for almost three years. This is his second marriage and he was married for 10 years before we got together. During that time, he got his ex-wife's name tattooed on his arm.
Starting point is 00:07:28 It's his one and only tattoo. It's on his upper right arm. He told me when he got married, to me, he'd get it removed or get a cover up tattoo. But it's been two years. He said he really doesn't want to get a cover up tattoo because he's done with getting tattoos. There's nothing he'd want to cover it up. And he thinks removing it's out of the question because it's expensive and painful. What would you do in this situation?
Starting point is 00:07:49 He told me he'd get it removed. I took his word for it. I do not want him to have this tattoo anymore. Signed, take you about a tattoo. I get why that's upsetting to her. Yeah, I would have probably made that happen before. So, you know, funny. What do you tell her?
Starting point is 00:08:06 I would say, okay, you just need to really express to him. I understand that it's painful, but I think they have numbing cream and I'll go with you. I'll support you. Like, this is something that's really important. Me and needs to happen. Is him saying it's too painful? Is that a reason enough for him not to do it? I don't understand that excuse.
Starting point is 00:08:24 Like, stop. You're always going to be painful, even when he agreed to it in the beginning. Yes. And she can remind him that he agreed to it. And then, you know, as he just needs to understand that she's having to look at that every day or anytime he's got that part of his body where she can see it. Like that's, that's not cool. She doesn't need to look at your ex-wife's name every time you take your shirt off. The significance is he told you he would get it removed.
Starting point is 00:08:48 Yes. If he never said that, we could have the conversation of should he have to? But if he said it. And I want to know whose idea was it to get divorced. Like, was it the ex-wife or his? This is still. I mean, well, I don't know. You would, you would think.
Starting point is 00:09:03 Like he doesn't want to eliminate it because he has to eliminate her then? You would think regardless of your new spouse, you would just want it removed because it's like, okay. Correct. I don't want to look at this reminder every day. You may have an amicable relationship with the ex-wife, but you don't need her name tattooed on you. So you're telling her he needs to go. He just needs to suck it up. Yes.
Starting point is 00:09:24 Tell him suck it up. Keep reminding him. Suck it up, buttercup. Okay, there you have it. I'm a letter. I have that one. Take about a tattoo. he needs to suck it up.
Starting point is 00:09:31 Play him this audio of us talking about it. He said he would do it. He needs to do it. He's a suck it up, Buttercup. All right, that's the mailbag. Close it up. We got your email and we've got the clothes. Bobby's mail bag.
Starting point is 00:09:45 I have two things I want to mention. Scooba Steve and I's date is tomorrow night. You know he's trying to go out with all of us one-on-one? Yeah. Our date's tomorrow night. I'm playing the Grand Ole Opry. And I hit Scoob up. I was like, have you ever been to a Grand Oleopry show?
Starting point is 00:09:56 And he was like, no, of you? And I didn't know if he was kidding or not. I think he was. Okay. Okay, you were kidding? Okay. I was totally kidding. And I was like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:06 I said, if you've never been, why don't you come with me? I'm going to perform on Wednesday night. And we'll go hang out. He can do the backstage. And that's our date. We'll spend our night together. Okay, he's not ranking our dates, right? Because you're going to win.
Starting point is 00:10:18 No, it was never a competition. And he may not win because that date's all about you, not about scuba. And this date is first so you guys can beat it. But to me, it wasn't a competition, but okay. Oh, I don't want to play that way. Let's just say the gifts are starting. I just feel like, oh. Oh, backstage.
Starting point is 00:10:34 Send a limo. But that's what we're going to do. That's our, we're not calling it. It's our special time tomorrow night. Scoop's Stephen myself. No, it's a date. It's a date. It's a date.
Starting point is 00:10:43 Special time sounds even better. Special time sounded even better. It's our romantic evening of who knows what's going to happen after. I just keep going with it. Speaking of romantic time, I hesitate to bring this up, but it can't be biased. Abby, lunchbox, once. What? Wait, what?
Starting point is 00:11:01 He wanted to bring up. romance and Riley Green. Oh my gosh. What about it? I don't understand. He sent me a picture of you. I'm just going to let him explain it and then I'm going, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:11:14 You think she's... Oh, she got all dolled up when Riley Green came in. She even more... Okay, get this, but this is the part where I rolled my eyes and thought he's such a... Go ahead. Tell them what you think she was doing to purposefully get Riley Green's attention.
Starting point is 00:11:26 Eddie, look at that. Green shirt. Green shirt. Hoping he'll be like, oh, green shirt? my name's green we should go out you think that's what she was doing? Absolutely 100% when she was getting dressed she was thinking Riley Green
Starting point is 00:11:39 Riley Green and so in her head she grabbed a green shirt because Riley Green was coming in the studio You think that she's going to fall in love with anybody that comes in here? Oh when I asked I'm like oh did you wear that shirt as him? No no no no and her boy you know how her voice gets all like you know how she gets
Starting point is 00:11:56 and I'm like oh you're smitten aren't you no no no That is not what I sound like. Scuba, is that how she sounded? I'm not saying she wasn't smitten. He's a good looking dude. I was a little smitten. I thought I was wearing a green that morning.
Starting point is 00:12:10 I'll be honest with you. But I'm just telling you, she literally wore a green shirt hoping he would be like, oh. Did you wear a green shirt? So Riley would go, that's also my last name. No, but I was embarrassed when he pointed it out.
Starting point is 00:12:19 Because I could see that he would think I did that, but I did not. I don't think anybody thinks you're wearing a green shirt for a guy last name green. That never crossed my mind. Me either. Oh, my goodness. If Walter White walked in and he's wearing a white hat, we're like, oh, you're trying to get the meth dealer's attention.
Starting point is 00:12:33 No, Abby just has, Abby has a reputation for when artists come. You've given her the reputation. She's earned it because the way she even admits it. Okay, maybe I was, you know, she gets all weird and giggly and this. Abby, I swear if you wear brown pants when Zach Brown comes in, it's over. That's good. It is over. And you know what?
Starting point is 00:12:51 God forbid Clint Black come in. Oh, no. God forbid. Yeah. But she probably won't talk like the way she does when, Like Riley Green came in. Just, no. I did not talk that way.
Starting point is 00:13:03 What are you talking about? He loves to have, he loves to submit things about you. He does. That is not even true at all. Hey, Drake White. Let's do what you wear. Drake White. Not sure you say Cain.
Starting point is 00:13:17 Cain Brown? I didn't say Cain Brown. I didn't get there in my head. I was trying to do a bit. There's a lot of colors in this. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, interesting.
Starting point is 00:13:29 girlfriend. So I... Does he? Yeah. Is it Luke Combs' manager still? I thought it was. I don't know. I mean, I don't really keep up. Oh, so you already know that? You already did your research? The one he took to the CMA Awards, I think. But I know that. I knew that, so I didn't do research. I just see it sometimes. Cappy? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:45 No, no, no. Different. Different. Yeah. I'm pretty. Imagine Riley Green, that Luke Combs's. Hey, so, but Riley Green, like, is he the tops of all the guys that come in here, Abby? You think? I would say he's one of one of them. Top three. Top three?
Starting point is 00:14:00 Yeah, top three. What is this based on, though? What's it based on? Oh, looks. Three best-looking guys that have come in here. We're not, I'm not lunchbox. I could ask Amy the same question. Please don't.
Starting point is 00:14:12 But did you hear something? Oh, yes, he is. But I was telling you the way she acted and wore green because he would, go ahead. Do I have to do this? You don't have to do anything. I mean, I would. You don't have to, but this is not a question of who you want to date because they can also be married. That's, oh, that's true.
Starting point is 00:14:29 Yeah. Hey, Smith? Stop. He's in the top two. I'm just kidding. Riley's definitely number one. Riley number one. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:38 Good. Okay. That's all I have. No, stop, man. I can't think of anyone. Abby, don't. She can't do my point. Just because he's on top of my head right now, but I can't think of any from the past. I'm always like.
Starting point is 00:14:51 She's on top of your head. She's so flushed right now. Abby. Guys, I don't. This is work. I don't pay attention. Okay. Let me just throw a couple at you.
Starting point is 00:15:04 Okay. Sam Hunt. Yes. Definitely. Yodel boy. Mason Ramsey. No. Have you even been in?
Starting point is 00:15:13 He hasn't even been in though. Blanketed. Yeah, he was in when he was yodling. I don't think I was here yet. Didn't you come in back in the day? Yeah, he did. Yeah, but. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:22 Chase Rice. Top five. Okay. Who am I forgetting, though? If you're saying top five, I think that's it. That's it. How is that it?
Starting point is 00:15:31 Who am I forgetting? Who was one that he said that I... Who, Amy, is there anybody that I'm missing? Out of like that vibe of people? Morgan Evans. Oh, he's up there. They're all up there. So he's not.
Starting point is 00:15:45 Okay, he's three. Is he on your head? No. Nope. Just Riley because of this conversation. Maybe because, you know, we get a calendar invite and it says, you know, Riley Green. It's like subconsciously she saw green and then maybe she went for green, but not Because she liked him.
Starting point is 00:15:59 How about green is a real popular color of things and clothes? It was a coincidence. Grab something. Yes. Yes. Okay. Thank you all. Abby.
Starting point is 00:16:09 Thank you. You're a good sport. Thank you. Yes. Lunchbox. I mean, I brought some facts. Here's the thing. I don't think you brought facts, but it did turn into something funny.
Starting point is 00:16:19 Mm-hmm. And Abby just cannot deny it, even though she wants and should deny it. She just starts giggling and going, he's on my head. And then he's the only one she can speak. It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. A public pool in Silver Lake, Minnesota opened up for the summer season this year,
Starting point is 00:16:42 and it quickly became apparent. The kids were getting hurt. Like, the concrete on the bottom was peeling up and scraping their feet. So they were like, oh, we got a problem. So they had to drain it. Then inspectors came out. They're like, we're going to have to close the pull down. And it's going to be $100,000 or more, maybe even $180,000 to fix this
Starting point is 00:17:00 pool. So people that lives in the area are like, well, what are we going to do? Our kids need something to do. So they all rallied together 30 people and they sanded and fixed the bottom of the pool. It was a temporary fix, but still, it was going to get them through the rest of the summer at least. And they're like, well, shoot, now we need to fill the pool back up. What are we going to do? They called fire departments nearby and they transferred all this water for them and dumped it into the pool. And now the kids are able to have a place to go for the summer. I like it. That's awesome. I like it. If something poops in the pool, do you really have to drain it, though?
Starting point is 00:17:32 Is my question. No, that happened to us. My kid poop in the pool and they shut it down for the day. But then what? Did they drain it? No, they just shut it down for the day. I think they do like some kind of chlorine. Or do they just shut it down for the day and do nothing.
Starting point is 00:17:42 No, they shock it. Because listen, hey, we don't know. They're like, all right, shut the pool down. Everybody leaves. They're like, well, I don't know. We'll see tomorrow. And is that really worthy of shut down for the day? If he poops in one little area, I mean, that's a big pool.
Starting point is 00:17:54 Eish. Yeah. I don't know. It's not like it's on the grass, though. It's in the water. And then it breaks apart and then it's all over the place. Now, again, you do have the chemicals in it. Right.
Starting point is 00:18:07 But they don't drain it, you're saying. They don't drain it because it was open the next day. They just prey over it basically. Please go away. Please, guys. Amy, thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:18:15 That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. It's time to play The Feud. There was a survey down on the most popular comfort foods in America, the top 10 answers are on the board. Lunchbox is not playing. This is your last suspension game. Yeah, I still, I'm not sure about that suspension,
Starting point is 00:18:35 but whatever. I'm going to accept it and just sit here and eat some. The survey was done, top 10 on the board. I can say, eat copper foods. Yep. I just knew you weren't going to stop talking. Yep, I was going to keep talking. I was going to name of you.
Starting point is 00:18:45 Philibuster, yeah, he's going to run a few from the board from you guys. All right, ready to go. Amy pick a number one through 10. Four. Eddie. Eight. Abby. Three.
Starting point is 00:18:55 number was two, Abby, you'll go first. Top ten answers on the board, Abby. Name a comfort food that Americans love. Mac and cheese. Show me macaroni and cheese. That is your number three answer. You got yourself three points. Okay. Okay. Me again.
Starting point is 00:19:14 Fried chicken. Fried chicken. Yes, five. Hey. Wow. Okay. Wow. Okay. How about pizza? Pizza. Pizza. Pizza. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:19:28 Comfort foods. Mashed potatoes and gravy. Show me mashed potatoes. Gravy. Number nine. That's all a Cracker Barrow right there. She just nailed it all. Right.
Starting point is 00:19:44 Another one. I'm going to say spaghetti. Show me Piscetti. No. First miss on the board. Piscetti's not it. Amy, there are six answers left. Pizza, mac and cheese, fried chicken, and mashed potatoes are off the board.
Starting point is 00:19:59 Ice cream. Show me ice cream. Number seven answer. Okay. Donuts. Donuts. Abby has 18 points. Amy has seven points. Eddie, you seem like a pretty comfortable guy. I'm always comfortable while I'm eating.
Starting point is 00:20:18 You know what? So, you know, what do you eat that makes you feel most comfortable? Cheeseburgers. Show me cheeseburger. Yes, number eight answer. Oh, that's pretty good. Bones, give me a grilled cheese sandwich. Show the guy, grilled cheese! Number two answer.
Starting point is 00:20:36 I mean, it is comforting, but wow. Oh, there are number four, number six, and number ten left. Man, is it smoked chicken? He does a plug for his business. Is it producer Eddie's smoking hot chicken? Wow, that would be a good thing to guess. No, it's not. It is, let's go with tacos.
Starting point is 00:21:02 Show up tacos. No. I should have gone on smoked chicken. Oh, okay, points are doubled. Oh, okay. Abby. I'm going to say steak. Steak!
Starting point is 00:21:13 What? That's comfort. No. Amy. I mean, comforting. What's comforting? Survey done. Most popular comfort foods in America.
Starting point is 00:21:24 Okay, cookies. Cughey! Yes. Number six, chocolate chip cookies, give her double points. That's 12. Amy takes the lead. Okay. Let's see.
Starting point is 00:21:36 not fruit, vegetables. Probably not. Okay. I mean, what about just like bread? Bread! Straight bread? Bread. Bread. Bread. Like a loaf of bread? Bread.
Starting point is 00:21:49 Bread. Bread and butter. Wonder bread. Eddie. Points are double. There's four and ten on the board. You got to have some points. I feel like some kind of Mexican food's got to be in there. Let's go with chips.
Starting point is 00:22:05 Dad! Yeah! Right? Oh, man. Last. Comfort food. I don't know if she said this. Last round, Abby. You are. You need a point here. You're down one point. It's Amy 19, Abby 18, Eddie 10. But points are tripled. So anything here puts big points up. Two answers left. Top 10 most popular comfort foods, pizza, grilled, cheese, mac and cheese.
Starting point is 00:22:31 One, two, three. Fried chicken, cookies, ice cream, cheeseburger, mashed potatoes. Five, six, seven, eight nine. You're looking for four and ten. I'm going to say cake. Cake! Oh, good one. Oh, no cake. Dang. What?
Starting point is 00:22:49 This is the final thing? Right here for me. If I can talk, so I can talk. You can talk around me. No, Eddie goes. I'm still behind you. Oh. Eddie goes.
Starting point is 00:22:57 I don't want to give them an idea. Yeah. I'm thinking, like, I find pancakes to be very comforting, but I feel like that's so specific. But then grilled cheese is specific, and that was on there. Hot dog But that's like only Once or twice a year
Starting point is 00:23:15 Corn dog I love that I love a corn dog She's laughing And herself Yeah it's very weird Very weird Okay this is stupid
Starting point is 00:23:26 I just need to say something Pancakes Pinkettes Lead Eddie you need one of these to win though Anyone gets his victory But you are down
Starting point is 00:23:39 You have to have this to win or Amy wins The one I was going to go with Amy didn't say. She mentioned hot dog. I have that on the list. Well, she mentioned pancakes and that was wrong. I'm not saying. I think.
Starting point is 00:23:53 I don't know if it's a comfort food, though. But, man, people love it at the movies. Oh. They love it when they're watching TV at home. Teachers, you know, like when school's out and they hit the teachers lounge, you always smell it in the hallways. Cigarettes. Just say it.
Starting point is 00:24:08 Popcorn. Oh. Okay. Oh, I don't like that reaction. I mean, I am. It's comforting. People love popcorn. It's warm, watery.
Starting point is 00:24:17 Do what's more comfortable than eating popcorn while you're watching a movie? Well, let me go and ask the judge. She's got all the answers. He's got the ding or they're being in the burr. Show me. Oh, God! Amy, you are a winner. Nice job.
Starting point is 00:24:37 There are two answers left on the board. Amy's our champion. One of the answers was chocolate. Straight from chocolate. And the one I'm surprised that nobody got. Alcohol. Comfort food Oh wow
Starting point is 00:24:52 We're learning so much about you I don't I'm just like pornography What? I was not I was going to say that It's got to be candy I just thought Like I don't
Starting point is 00:25:07 I'm not saying that's for me I'm not escorts Amy relax What are you talking about You tell us I don't know Okay Bobby made it seem like it was going to be alcohol
Starting point is 00:25:19 Bobby didn't do it. I actually didn't. I don't think I'll lean that direction anyway. Wait, say, give us a hint. It rhymes with wrench fries. Fring rice. Oh, porrs. Hey, Amy's our big winner.
Starting point is 00:25:32 Yeah. I just don't know what she does anymore when she leaves here. I'll be honest with you. I don't. I don't. I don't even drink that much. Amy's like, stripper balls. No?
Starting point is 00:25:45 No. Stop. A win is a win. is a win. I don't care what you're saying. Yep, that's me, Cliver Taylor the fourth. You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football, or my career
Starting point is 00:25:59 in sports media. Well, somewhere along the way, this platform became bigger than I ever imagined. When you listen to podcasts about AI and tech and the future of humanity, the hosts always act like they know what they're talking about and they are experts at everything. Here, the Nick Dick and Poll Show, we're not afraid to make mistakes. What Cougler did that I think was so unique. He's the writer-director.
Starting point is 00:27:08 Who do you think he is? I don't know. Do you meet the president? You think Canada has a president? You think China has a president? Does law a rouset. God, I love that thing. I use it all the time.
Starting point is 00:27:22 I wrap it in a blanket and sing to it at night. It's like the old Polish saying, not my monkeys, not my circus. Yep. It was a good one. It is an actual Polish saying. It is an actual Polish saying. Better version of Play Stupid Games, win stupid prizes. Yes.
Starting point is 00:27:38 Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift who said that for the first time. I actually thought it was. I got that wrong. Listen to the Nick Dick and Poll show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Starting point is 00:28:18 Take to Interactive CEO Strauss-Zalny. If you're unable to take meaningful creative risk and therefore run the risk of making horrible creative mistakes, then you can't play in this business. Sesame Street CEO Sherry Weston and her own chief business officer, Lisa Coffey. Making consumers see the value of the human voice and to have that guaranteed human promise behind it
Starting point is 00:28:42 really makes it rise to the top. Listen to math and magic, stories from the frontiers of marketing on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I love when someone on the show has a big breakthrough. Like even within themselves, Abby says she has found her purpose in life. And I'm super excited about this. You went skydiving.
Starting point is 00:28:59 Yes. And now you think you're a different person. Uh-huh. What's your new purpose in life? Like to give back more. That's what you go from skydiving? Yeah. Like, I just feel like there's more out there to help others than just like myself.
Starting point is 00:29:12 Will you explain to me how you got there? Because I love it. Okay. So, like, after, once you first. jump out, it's just like hectic and crazy and you feel like you got hit in the face. The airplane. Yes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:22 But then when you pull the parachute, it is just like the most peaceful thing ever that there's, there's no sound. There's nothing you can hear. It is just, you're just floating. And I was like, I can actually do good instead of just like everything around me. We think that the world revolves around us. And I'm like, it really doesn't like, you know. I love that you got there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:47 It was just the parachute part of that. Why do you think that is? Like connected to, because I've gotten to some places to, it doesn't make sense how I got there. We all get to places differently. Is it because you felt so free or you felt like, I don't know, that was like an advantage that you had about, everybody can't skydive or is it because you had no control?
Starting point is 00:30:08 You know, what is it? I think it's just like a different perspective, the way you see it, that you're on top of everything and you're just looking down. Like, it's hard to describe. You know, when I'm flying. like sometimes just in an airplane. I look down and I'm like every single one of those people down there and every one of those houses and every one of those cars that's just a complex, as much complex life as I do. Every single one of them. And every single one of them has something that's going on
Starting point is 00:30:29 that ain't very good in their life right now. And they got something going on that's awesome the same way that I do. Very interesting. And they could use help and they could also give help. But I do that, right? That like a really bad sociological experiment in my head that never actually happens. I just think about it. You know? I'm just like every one. But then I land and I'm like, Back to me being selfish. So, but I like that. And has it inspired you to actually do something? Yes.
Starting point is 00:30:57 Well, I'm in the process. I don't really know what. But like to translate, it's kind of like, you know how when you're looking up at the sky and you look at the stars and you realize we are just like a grain of sand? This isn't me every day. You think that every day? Every day. You guys are crazy.
Starting point is 00:31:12 Every day. You have too much time on your hand. No, no, no. I need more time to think about this more. But I think about this. And I think about how small we are and what we don't know. Not what I do know, but what I don't know.
Starting point is 00:31:26 Good for you. And that there's just more out there. Instead of just living day by day, get up every day, do the same thing. There's just, you've got to find your purpose. Every night I go to bed. I take the dogs out. I do it again.
Starting point is 00:31:37 I take the dogs out of a night. And I'm like, well, here's another night. And eventually this turns into 500 nights, which turns into 10,000 nights, which turns into me being dead. Oh, my gosh. No, I don't think about that. And I don't want all these nights.
Starting point is 00:31:51 To be. Yeah, I was going to say, I want this night to end. That's a song. I don't want these nights to, but I do that too. And then after I go back inside and I get sleepy and then I'm back to being selfish. And so, but yeah, it's good. Good that that's your thing. So, but what do you want to do?
Starting point is 00:32:06 Because I mean, I'd love to help you if you do decide what it is that you want to do. You have to decide right now, but is it help turtles? Humans? Humans probably. And dogs. There's so much I want to do. There's not enough time. I would just encourage you not to want to do so much that you can't do anything.
Starting point is 00:32:24 Because if you have two quarterbacks, you have no quarterbacks. That's true. So find your one. Yeah. Get your starter. Focus on it and do that. Okay. I'll let you know when I think.
Starting point is 00:32:34 Yeah. I have a suggestion if she wants to help people. Oh, no. What? Okay, you asked what? Abby, I wasn't going to. She asked what? Lunchbox, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:32:42 Yeah, you can babysit my kids for free. That's helping out. That is not what I had to do. But that's helping people out. How's home? Wichita good? Yeah. How often do you go back?
Starting point is 00:32:53 Not very often. Only if I have a special occasion. But I'm going home for a wedding. When? This weekend. This coming weekend. How hard is it to get there from here? It's very difficult because all the flight times you go through like St. Louis and it's either 5.30 in the morning or 10 at night.
Starting point is 00:33:07 Do you want to come and do a few songs in the Wichita shows? My Wichita shows? What? Really? Yeah. Are you serious? Yeah. You can come and open the shows.
Starting point is 00:33:18 We have. We have Carter Faith, who's going to be, like, my main support. But if you want to come and open the show, then do, like, three songs, you should come and do it. So I find a guitarist? All that's up to you. All that's up to you. You don't get paid, though, Abby, you're not getting paid. I'll get paid.
Starting point is 00:33:34 I'll pay you $200 a show. What? But you've got to donate that money because you're all about a new purpose. You're all about a new purpose. I may do that. Help someone out. Maybe she will. So you want to come.
Starting point is 00:33:44 You can do three songs each. I'm doing two theater shows up there. You ever played in that theater? No, no. I've never even been. They wouldn't let you in. My voice. They wouldn't let your type in?
Starting point is 00:33:54 No. No, that's like iconic. Like that's the Orphium theater? Yeah. That was in, what's his name? That music video? Craig Morgan is in the background. Well, if you want to come and open, those two shows on August 11th and 12,
Starting point is 00:34:07 I'd love for you to come and do three songs each show. I'll do that. You'll do that. Okay, there's she's out. Yay. Thank you. You're welcome. If you guys are listening and you want to come watch Abby,
Starting point is 00:34:18 the Saturday night show is already sold out. There are still tickets left for the Friday night show at the Orphium. Just go to Bobbybones.com. They're up there, and it'll be awesome. It's your home show. But I'm not going to be up there with this time. Now there's Eddie. Like, this is you.
Starting point is 00:34:32 You've done it with this before, but you come and sing with our band. This is you. You have to find a guitarist, but I'll pay. How much guitar I pay her? 200. I'm going to. Yeah, I'm down. I'm down.
Starting point is 00:34:43 She's down. Okay, there she is. Abby, everybody. She's changed her life. She's given back. She's parachuted. She's a whole new person. This is cool, too, because I think it's an example of Abby sharing her heart and how she wants to give back.
Starting point is 00:34:57 And she's going to work on that. And then boom, you swoop in and, you know, she gets rewarded in a way. I know. Do you want to say this? What? My heart. You got it. No, but you see what you're saying?
Starting point is 00:35:07 Like, she's putting good energy out there and she's receiving. Abby always has good energy. Abby's like the greatest energy of the whole room. Which is why everybody is like lunch. Fuck star. It'll fade away. What will fight away? Her energy's been strong for years at this point.
Starting point is 00:35:20 A voicemail from Steve in Boston. Hey, Bobby Bones. I have morning corny for you guys. From my stepdaughter, here it is. Why is dark felt with a K and not a C? Because you can't see in the dark. No, no, no. That was right.
Starting point is 00:35:41 I like that. If I had a banana pill, I would throw it at him. If he were Fossey Bear and I had a banana pill and this one of the Muppets and he were on stage, I would throw it at him right now. Waka, walk, walk, walk, a splat. Tomato. I feel for him, so I will laugh. Ken and Lakeland, Florida left this voicemail. Hi.
Starting point is 00:35:59 I'm wondering why two days ago they were playing the heck out of the Dan Shea's new song. And then yesterday and again, today I haven't heard it at all. Loved it. Really like to hear it again. Predict is going to number one. Great question. Ken, here's the answer. It was a world premiere day.
Starting point is 00:36:14 And so World Parenthood is, this song's brand new. Will everybody know it's brand new? And then it goes and then works its way up the chart. And that said, I'm close to Dan and Shay, especially Dan, but Shea a little too. And Dan was like, hey, I want to send you the album way before it comes out. This is weeks ago. I don't normally listen to anybody's music ever, but it's Dan. And Dan doesn't put weird pressure on me to go, is this song good?
Starting point is 00:36:38 I only want to twice have ever been like, nah, it ain't that good. And then I stopped doing that anymore. Ooh, that's tough. Yeah, I just either ghost the question or. So it's just not a fair place to put anybody in. But he goes, hey, if you listen to if you listen to this, can you tell me a few of the songs that you think are your favorites? I have no pressure there.
Starting point is 00:36:55 I just pick my favorites. And so I sent him one, two, and three. And the number one song that I sent him was Save Me the Trouble. And he goes, that's our first single. And I was like, thank God. Okay. Thank God. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:04 Here is Save Me the Trouble. So I predict it'll be a number one as well. And I think that the reason you're not hearing it is because now it's going to do the climb. But it was a world premiere day, and that's why. Here's one more voicemail from Darcy in California. I just wanted to say that I have a private account on Instagram, and recently I followed both Eddie and Lunchbox. I was already following the rest of the team.
Starting point is 00:37:30 Shortly after, I followed these accounts, I get a request for a follow from an Eddie impersonator account on Instagram, pretending to be Eddie. So my question is, lunchbox, how does it feel to be less famous than Eddie? Because I had no Lunchbox impersonator accounts requesting to follow me, but Eddie has a bunch of fans, a bunch of people pretending to beat him. So, hmm. Answer.
Starting point is 00:37:50 No, no one can impersonate me because I don't follow anybody, so it'd be very obvious if it was me asking to be your friend. That's why. I'm more famous. Look who has more followers. I do. End the stories. He's got a point.
Starting point is 00:38:01 The story's ended. Why do they scam? Like, why do they do that? Well, they go, I'm actually his secret account. Can I have an Apple gift card? Yeah, that's really, yeah. Okay, yeah. Dopamine news are becoming all the thing, especially on TikTok.
Starting point is 00:38:17 What? It's a dopamine menu. You know, not where my head went. No, not mine either. They should call it dope a menu. Sounds illegal. In some states, in some states you get that medically menu. Okay.
Starting point is 00:38:28 I guess because I had heard it before, my brain never went the drug route. You know, and I guess nobody even really our generation calls it dope. It was like the generation before us. It was like the 60s, man. I know. It was still dopamine. Anyway, tell me about a dopamine menu probably releasing some kind of happy chemical. Yeah, dopamine.
Starting point is 00:38:48 So it's a personalized list of activities, tasks, and experiences that make you happy. And therapists say that, boom, you give yourself that dopamine hit and then it gives you happiness to carry into the more mundane tasks. So it's not a restaurant. No, you're not eating anything. It's a list of things you want to do. Who's the waiter? I took a way literal. I took every part of this way too literal.
Starting point is 00:39:14 I thought you went to a place. They gave you a menu and you picked which one. of those that you were going to do that gave you some dope. Would it be that as a drug dealer? Yeah, I didn't know. More if we just call it a dope a list. Yeah, but where do you get the list? You make it. This is terrible.
Starting point is 00:39:27 This is terrible. I want, this is, okay, go. One of my friends literally lives this way. Like, if she doesn't have something fun to look forward to on her calendar or on her list of things to do, she gets sort of down. Yeah, I get it. I just thought someone was going to give me the dopamine menu list. Okay, I'm sure you could Google one.
Starting point is 00:39:43 Okay. Dopamine menu suggestions. Okay. All right. So credit card scammers. are everywhere now, especially at Walmarts and 7-Eleven. Authorities are saying definitely be on the lookout, especially in upstate New York. And then, I was shocked by this one, stores in Maine have also been victims of the scan.
Starting point is 00:40:01 They're coming for me. They knew I was there. Oh, no. They're closing it on me. I just thought scammers are in Maine. You said it was the friendliest, most amazing place ever. I don't believe it. I think they're trying to, because they heard me come on and say how awesome Maine was. And so now they're trying to knock it back down to even. There are no scammers in Maine when I was there. I yelled, any scammers?
Starting point is 00:40:17 Not a single person raise their hand. And by scammers, it's scammers that put skimmers on the credit card things. And you can look for them. They're overlays that will come off. So just before you swipe, make sure you know. Impossible to see. They say you touch you. I'm telling you.
Starting point is 00:40:34 I've seen them before. Like people showing me one. I've never seen one on it in action. But I've seen one. It just looks like a skimmer. You don't try to test it though by shaking it a little bit? Shake it out. Every skimmer?
Starting point is 00:40:44 Oh, dude. Every time I put my credit card, I'm like, let me shake a little bit. Not like being skim-scammed, though, or you thought so. No, no, no, no. Somebody asked me to pay for their gas. I gave my credit card. They gave me cash. That was shady.
Starting point is 00:40:57 Yeah, but also didn't you, wasn't that the one where you went in the store and they were like mess? Which one of you did that? I might have done that. That's true. That's what I'm saying. Okay, what else? Okay, also, they say that tap, if you have the tap option, that's, you can't get scam that way. Here's how you can't get scammed.
Starting point is 00:41:14 Don't leave your house. Don't get on the internet. Stay home. Just don't do that. You'll never get scammed. Elle King was on the Kelly Clarkson show, and her dad is Rob Snyder. He's a comedian. And here she is talking about how comedians are when they're offstage.
Starting point is 00:41:28 Comedians are not funny. They have, I think a lot of comedians are extremely intelligent, and they have this weird vision, and they use all of their joy to make other people laugh. So then offstage, she says, their humor is sort of not there. Most people with big personalities publicly most. Yeah, they kind of use that. Like that's what they, that's all of their energy. It's your dopa hit.
Starting point is 00:41:55 I mean, listen. Ain't a lot to, I have a lot to do when I'm off the air. I'm not the guy's going to be talking a lot or, you know, be Mr. Mr. Loud at the party. Heck, I ain't going to the party. I don't want to get scammed, ain't leaving the house. Do you know what I mean? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:08 I'm Amy. That's my pile. That was Amy's pile of stories. Time to the good news. With lunchbox. Say home there's something good. Carter Jolson has had heart problems his whole life. He's been on and off these machines and he needed a heart transplant.
Starting point is 00:42:26 Well, the community, friends, family, strangers. They've all helped the family over the years, and he's now 12 years old. He got the heart transplant. He's good. He's healthy. But he still gets a make a wish, right? So what's 12-year-old Carter going to do? Go to the Super Bowl, go to the World Series, fly on, you know, an airplane.
Starting point is 00:42:42 No. His brother mentioned, man, our high school weight rooms. really, you know, out of date, we could use a new one. He goes, you know what? The community helped me. I'm going to give back to the community. And he said, I want to get a new weight room for the high school. Dang. And so he went to the school board.
Starting point is 00:42:55 They approved it. And his dad goes, you know, like I said, you can go to the Super Bowl. That's your one wish. And the 12 year old is like, no, dad. My older brother said they need a new weight room. They got the new weight room. Wow. That's good. I love that story. My second favorite thing is how the story ended. My first favorite thing is lunchbox was listing the cool things he could have done.
Starting point is 00:43:13 Super Bowl World Series or be on an airplane. Is everything he wants to do. Flying airplane. Yeah. Flying airplane? Like actually flying? I don't know. I don't know what Make-A-Wish can do.
Starting point is 00:43:20 Well, they- Anything, right? I thought at first he was saying, like, get on a Southwest flight. I don't know. Then it was flying an airplane. I don't think you can even fly. I mean, could he sit up there with the pilot?
Starting point is 00:43:29 Maybe. I don't know. I'm just saying Make-A-Wish makes a lot of things happen. So I figure he could do anything in the world. Drive a tank in Afghanistan. Well, I don't know a lunchbox that that can be the case. Right. So your examples weren't in the story.
Starting point is 00:43:42 You just made them up. Yeah. Oh. Oh, even the Super Bowl part you went back to? You made that up again? The dad never said to the kid. Oh, no, no. The dad said, oh, wait, hold on it says.
Starting point is 00:43:52 Oh, the dad even suggested you could go to the Super Bowl. Maybe I did read that. Oh. Make a wish that we cannot grant wishes for vehicles, cars, et cetera, homes, firearms, or cash. Oh, no cash. I want a million dollars? Or no genies of an extra wish. But, I mean, that's crazy.
Starting point is 00:44:06 So the 12-year-old, he not even go there and he gets him a weight room? That's crazy. He might go there, though. Yeah, I guess he's going to start going there, huh? Yeah. It's pretty cool. All right, there you go. That's what's all about.
Starting point is 00:44:15 That was Tell Me Something Good. Tupac, Biggie, Prince, all put out music after they died. Like they kind of had it in, like a safe or something. It keeps going out. Johnny Cash now has a song that they're putting out. Okay. Which is pretty good. Right?
Starting point is 00:44:31 It's awesome. Cool for us. We'll probably play this a lot. Here you go. Here's Johnny Cash doing Barbie Girl. Hello, I'm not Johnny Cash. Barbie World. Laughing blessed.
Starting point is 00:44:50 It's fantastic. You can brush my hair. Unthress me everywhere. It's not bad. It's crazy. Wow, that's a good. Oh, come on Barbie. Let's go, Barbie.
Starting point is 00:45:04 And take my blues up. Your World Premiere, I Heart Country World Premiere, Johnny Cash, doing Barbie Girl. That's actually good. That is scary. I mean, it's straight AI. They just take all his voice and make him sing that. I mean, he says Barbie World so perfectly. Barbie World.
Starting point is 00:45:26 That's from the There I Rundit YouTube page. Wow. on Barbie, let's go party. Now time for the morning corny. The morning corny. What do you call someone with nobody and no
Starting point is 00:45:41 nose? What do you call somebody with nobody and no nose? Nobody knows. Nobody. That was the morning corny. Research from the University of Illinois at Chicago finds it husbands and wives frequently disagree
Starting point is 00:45:59 and argue after not doing it. Okay, now that's like, no way, we don't argue. But it's something I wouldn't think you would argue after. After. Oh, church. Oh. You know what?
Starting point is 00:46:13 That is a really, that's a great answer. Why would you argue against church? Satan, man. Just comes after you. The literal thing. Yeah, spiritual warfare. Oh, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:46:22 Wait. It happens. Give us a hint. Under dinner. Okay, no. I know, Hans. I'm about to tell you. In like two seconds.
Starting point is 00:46:29 Yeah, I mean, I was really about to get to it right then. Good. No, after like a party or a social event. Oh. Because you're drinking? Yeah, that's probably what it is. Interesting. So you think that maybe the wife or the husband's mad at the other person
Starting point is 00:46:40 who's drinking too much. Yeah, or you lingered in a conversation with someone too long. Like, wow. That's interesting. Anything you think there? I don't know why they would other than like these guys if they're looking at someone for too long. Like what? Okay.
Starting point is 00:46:53 Oh, these guys? Oh, not me. No, these. Because I don't even go to parties. That's true. I don't stay home. Yeah. Overall, the main reason is that men,
Starting point is 00:47:01 tend to exaggerate something about their wives for a laugh, which makes the wives mad. Oh, yeah. And so, they're like, why did you, that wasn't true. I don't want to say it then, but that's not exactly how it went down. And guys are all like, oh, do we like to exaggerate things a little bit for the laugh.
Starting point is 00:47:18 So y'all do that? Yeah, that's normal. It's called storytelling. Telling a story. Bobby, do you do that? Not really, because my, she'll call me out loud in front of everybody. You guys know my wife. She'll be like, that is not true. If I do that, she'll go, stop. That's not true. and here's what he does.
Starting point is 00:47:32 And she'll be like, wait, this isn't a radio bit. Yeah, and she'll go, this isn't a bit right now. Life is not show prep. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:47:38 she's like, everything's like, hey, we're not doing bits, okay? We're not doing bids. And then women on the other side
Starting point is 00:47:45 will flirt with other men to get an ego boost. Oh. It's a little flirt to kind of feel and then that angers their husbands. That's from the Journal
Starting point is 00:47:52 of Marriage and Therapy. So Amy, it's not us. See, Amy, you want to blame us. It's you, if you look at people too long. Well,
Starting point is 00:47:57 you said it, And then she just kind of peep back on the article. Yeah. So here's I want to say. Is there kind of a rotation of the same fight you get into over and over? It doesn't be big. It could be little, it can be leaving your dirty clothes on the floor right next to the hamper. But you never do it.
Starting point is 00:48:17 Like what is that thing? And maybe fights not even the word. But it's always brought up and there's a sort of disagreement about it all the time. Or you're just an idiot all the time. Eddie. Lately it's been my chicken. She complains about me. Too good.
Starting point is 00:48:30 It's you're selling too much? No, she complains about me doing my chicken where she cooks dinner and stuff. And she's like, you don't clean up after you. We're going to get salmonella after everything. And I'm like, I do. I'm very careful about cleaning up my chicken stuff after I'm done with the chicken stuff. But she thinks like, no, look, I found some juice right here, chicken juice. That's not good.
Starting point is 00:48:46 And it's just constant. I forget. What's that chicken called again? Oh, that's producer Eddie's smoking hot chicken. Wow. Do you want to make an order? I don't right now, but how would someone? Oh, easy.
Starting point is 00:48:55 Dude. Just DM me. text me, whatever, and then I'll DM you back. I'll DM you. I went to the farmer's market this weekend. And you saw someone making chicken? No, that's the thing. I saw no one making chicken.
Starting point is 00:49:07 Exactly. Okay. And you know what I did? We went and we were going to get some peaches. We like to air fry peaches. And because I'm a child, I always need dessert with everything. So my wife's figured out a way to air fry pizzas with honey. And I'll be like, that's dessert.
Starting point is 00:49:19 She tricks me. But we went to get some peaches and get something for like the garden thing in our house. And I looked around. I was like, this would be perfect for Eddie's producer Eddie's smoking hot chicken. I bought some Wagyu beef jerky there at the farmer's market. And it was really good. And as I was eating it, I was like, I should like some Eddie smoking hot chicken right here. And I could go get a stand.
Starting point is 00:49:42 And I'm thinking you don't have anything in the smoker because it's all pre-made so you can smell it so you can sell it. But man, that smoke fills up that farmer's market. They love that. Who told you that? Me, I told you to go to the farmer's movie. But I went and scouted it. But it's what I'm saying. Easy, guys.
Starting point is 00:49:56 Easy, easy. Easy. Lifebox, what's the fight? It's the car keys. If I borrow her car and I don't put them back in the key bowl, because I walk in, I throw them on the counter, I throw them on a chair. Why would you throw them on a chair? That's a weird one.
Starting point is 00:50:08 Like if I'm walking on. Home in the toilet. I throw them on the kitchen table, you know what I mean? Like they slide off the edge. So I just never remember to put them in the key bowl. Is the key bowl close, like near where you walk through though? No, she doesn't want it by the front door because she thinks, oh, if someone breaks in, they'll know the key bowl is right there.
Starting point is 00:50:23 Maybe you compromise on where to put it to make it easier for you. Yeah, she puts it in the kitchen. So you have to walk all to the kitchen. Well, it sounds like you put it on the kitchen counter. It's not saying. It's all off. When he goes in there sometimes. Counter, kitchen table.
Starting point is 00:50:35 I'll throw it on the couch. You know what I mean? Like the coffee table. Anywhere. I feel like he just closed his eyes as like a bouquet. Whoever catches it gets the car. But she is right. The key bowl is like it's a life changer if you can remember to use it.
Starting point is 00:50:48 We've started to implement a, it's not really a bowl, but like a key plate of some kind. It's not even really a plate. but it's when you walk in the front door and the keys are always there it's amazing yeah we walk in there I'll lay them down we walk out they're right there I never lose my keys that's the whole point of it yeah I never thought on the couch though not in the kitchen caravan sometimes I just kick it
Starting point is 00:51:06 under the TV you're carrying something you know what I mean you get your hands full you just toss it like mine is probably cut off shirts I'll wear them everywhere hey we're gonna go have some lunch with some friends and I've got on some short in a cut off shirt hey we're gonna go to the go to the mall cut off shirt we're gonna work out
Starting point is 00:51:24 Cut off shirt. If I'm not doing something for like work, the show or like TV or something, I just work cut off shirts all the time. And not because I have huge arms. I just like to be comfortable. And she's like, you just, will you just please not wear a cut off shirt this time? But like, so sleeves are not comfortable for you? I don't like them.
Starting point is 00:51:40 He likes to breathe. I like to breathe. And not only that, we have deals. And she'll be like, if you don't wear one this time, you can wear it more the next time. Just not this time. And I'm like, just something with sleeves. Yeah. That's constantly our little dumb fight.
Starting point is 00:51:57 That's funny. Oh, man. Oh, man. Oh, no. Oh, no. That was coming out. Maybe used to. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:03 No, no, there's big fights. Okay. A win is a win. A win is a win. I don't care what you're saying. Yep, that's me. Cliver Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, the reactions,

Starting point is 00:55:08 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I'm here to help you. Scam alert! Scam alert! There is a new Craigslist scam where they hire you to run errands. It's somebody just out Hey, I run some errands. Craig's List, hey, give me somebody to run some errands.
Starting point is 00:55:25 I'll pay you $15 an hour. Why not? Do that. Facebook Marketplace. Hey, can I hire somebody to run some errands? Why not? Do that? Then the scammer asks you to go to the bank and get some cash as one of the errands.
Starting point is 00:55:35 It's like to be an assistant for a day. Then they wait for, they go, hey, would you give the teller with the phone? And then they say, hey, this is a robbery. A woman in Nebraska fell for it and unknowingly robbed a bag. Wow. Robbed a bank. Here is Lieutenant Kyle Steffen talking about the scam. Well, the initial reaction, we were somewhat surprised.
Starting point is 00:55:55 After the first one, we were definitely on the lookout for. And so any time that they start asking for money to be sent online, that's the biggest red flag that jumps up. Here's what you do, though. You go and you take that phone, you'd be like, yeah, they give you the money. Then they arrest you and you'd be like, you know, I was told by someone on the phone. Right. There's never anybody on the phone.
Starting point is 00:56:13 You just scammed. The scammer? Yeah, the bang bank, yeah. Yeah, so the lady was getting trouble? No, because they found out it was a scam. Dude, you can set this out. The teller gave the woman an undisclosed amount of cash. She left thinking it was a normal withdrawal.
Starting point is 00:56:28 She didn't find out. She robbed a bank until later. Oh, my gosh. She delivered the cash? Huh? Does she deliver the cash to the big scammer? I think so. It doesn't really go to who the big scammer was.
Starting point is 00:56:39 Wow. Another woman did it too in the same, like near the same spot. A few days after that, and she didn't get any money. and so both times they asked they told them beforehand take this money and go deposit into ATM so I don't know if that first woman ever deposited
Starting point is 00:56:57 or she just had it but they're not facing any charges they didn't commit a crime but the scammers will if the cops catch them but they ain't going to catch them but that's crazy that's crazy can I be honest that's awesome that's an awesome scam
Starting point is 00:57:09 she's sitting at home on his cell phone robin banks they have no idea what if someone reacted with you end up getting innocent people hurt. Well, yeah, they don't care. Yeah, never go to a bank and withdraw money on a cell phone
Starting point is 00:57:22 from someone you don't know. Scam alert! Hey, what happened with your daughter? She's annoyed with me because I'm not letting her fall for a scam. And she brings this thing to me of like, hey, mom, look, there's this wig company. She likes to wear wig sometimes.
Starting point is 00:57:39 And she said, they'll provide me with these wigs and then pay me $600 if I post about it on my Instagram. And I said, okay, okay. Well, did they. Sure. Her following on her Instagram is, you know, that's, I don't feel like that's $600. They wouldn't get their money back, right?
Starting point is 00:57:59 So then I read the DM and it says, hey, just to get things started, I need you to send $25, but don't worry. We'll refund this to you within 24 hours. Oh, yeah. Like all these things. You never send money, never, ever send money. And it said they would pay through PayPal and just everything was screaming scam alerts. So it's funny because we do this segment and said that's in my head.
Starting point is 00:58:23 And so when she starts telling you about it, I just look at her and I'm like, scam alert, spam alert. And I can hear the sirens. But she was so annoyed because she thought she had a chance to get free wigs and $600. If anybody asked you to pay money to make money, that's a scam. Right. Unless you're like buying something like you're in that. But online, this is, no, you need to pay, or I will send you a pet cashier's check or whatever.
Starting point is 00:58:49 Scam. Never pay money. Right, which I'm in a video, you or anybody in here in a minute saying just that to her, like saying this is a scam. Does she think it's real? She's still hesitant. She thinks I'm just being a, you know. I'll just text it to her. Party pooper.
Starting point is 00:59:03 No, let me go. Yeah, I think. Hello, Stasheera. Hey, look, your mom is telling us about this wig thing. I think it's a great idea. I don't know why she's not letting you do it. All right. I hate you.
Starting point is 00:59:13 Okay, I'm just kidding. Hey, that's a scam. Never ever trust anybody that says you have to send them money for you to make money. If they were to say we're going to send you the wigs and pay you $600 and that was it, I'll be like, that's pretty cool. You can be an influencer. However, they're saying you have to send them $25. Never ever on the internet trust anyone.
Starting point is 00:59:30 This is you have to send them money for them to actually give you money. Scam alert. That's a scam. Your mom's right. For a month. All right. Okay. Good.
Starting point is 00:59:39 Yeah. That works. Also, I did a little digging and I went to. the Instagram page and there was lots of photos up there but when I clicked on each one to see the date they were all added on the same day. I'm texting to it right now. Okay. So that's that's also another tip you can do to check and see how legit the Instagram account is.
Starting point is 00:59:57 And if anybody wants to paint you, don't allow, right Morgan? Yeah, do not allow it. Because they wanted to paint you but they wanted what from you? They wanted me to like make a deposit to share my like checking numbers to make a deposit. Never pay. Yes. There you go. Scam alert!
Starting point is 01:00:13 Scam alert! We are looking out for you. Let's go over and talk to Walt, who is calling us from St. Louis. Hey, Walt, what's up, buddy? Hey, good morning. Good morning, studio. Morning. Hey, I'm curious to know if you guys are billionaires.
Starting point is 01:00:31 I don't know. We win scuba. We won the lottery. We probably won. Yeah, we win scuba. We won money when we didn't win the billion dollars. Hold on a minute. What?
Starting point is 01:00:39 Hold on. Don't say one. I'm a gambler. Okay, gotcha. I'm a gambler in many ways. I love when I say win to me to come up out more than you started with. Oh, gotcha. I think you mean like you just get money in general.
Starting point is 01:00:52 You win. You're ahead. Okay. You're in the black. No, we're in the red. Okay, cool. So you're basically saying we didn't lose it all. We didn't lose it all.
Starting point is 01:00:59 We won $16 to reinvest, which is great. And there's the new drawing Wednesday night tomorrow, and that's the one for $1 billion. It doesn't end. One billion. But how, it's more exciting. This is the worst. This is the worst siding. I was being made off for three years.
Starting point is 01:01:12 It's more exciting to win a billion than it is $900 million. I'll be honest. Scuba Madoff over here is taking us to the cleaners. $40 more, folks. I get these weird text from Scoobin, the millinite. You want in? Don't forget. Do you want in?
Starting point is 01:01:24 Yeah. Do you want in? So we did not win, Walt. Apparently, there's no winner again. No, there is. I just drove by the sign. And one of them was reduced to the normal $10 million. It must be another big lottery.
Starting point is 01:01:38 You're on a different lottery. You in America? He's St. Louis. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe you're thinking of Mega, you know, I don't know which one you're looking at.
Starting point is 01:01:47 There's two different lotteries. You got one of those masks on virtual reality. Oculus. Oh, you got punked. Got the Oculus sign. All right. Well, I appreciate you, buddy. Have a good day.
Starting point is 01:01:56 All right, boy. All right, so you. Let's do the news. Bobby's big. Stories. Story number one. No winner again. So the Powerball jackpot is one billion.
Starting point is 01:02:06 I think where Walt was confused. There are two big ones. There's Powerball and Mega Millions. Ah. For the 38th time in a row, no big winner in last night's Powerball. The Jackpot for tomorrow night's drawing is $1 billion, which will give a single winner an estimated lump sum of $516.8 million. They gave the numbers.
Starting point is 01:02:23 The Jackpot's now the third largest in the history of the game, Powerball. We could be Warren Buffett. I'm just over giving you guys money. I give you 20 more scuba. Yeah, when is it due? Tomorrow, I'll be there. Anytime tomorrow. And actually, he's just wrong altogether because Mega Millions is also up to $640 million.
Starting point is 01:02:38 Hey, give Walt to break. He said a rough money. Sorry, Walt. You ever heard of bed rotting? It's a term that younger people have started. Bed rotting refers to doing nothing but laying in bed and unwinding. That's nice. It's a way to take a step back from your busy life and just rot. That word rot is not good. I don't like rot. We need a better name. That sounds very negative. Just rot. I don't even mind the negativity. Just the grossness of the word.
Starting point is 01:02:58 It's like you're slowly dying. It's like maggots. I think of maggots. Yeah. Health experts say bed rotting is a good thing as long as it isn't permanent. Well, yeah, that would be you being dead. They left you in the bed. It can help people recharge their batteries and physically rest their bodies so they can take better care for future events. That is from Minded, a psychiatric site. Parents are buying back to school supplies already from Office Depot survey.
Starting point is 01:03:22 You bought anything? Not yet. Probably should, though. Thanks for the reminder. Eddie? Yep. Amazon, what is that, Prime Day or whatever? We did a lot of that on that.
Starting point is 01:03:30 I got some good stuff on Prime Day this year. It was really good this year. I got some AirPods for like $60. box like the gen 3 or 4 of the new ones. Did you get the little pack that you can put in your keychain? That's pretty cool, dude. Did you get a holder for your belt for your phone?
Starting point is 01:03:48 See you're making fun of me. That's dad's stuff, huh? Yeah, except for sure. A survey found that 39% of parents started back to school shopping for their kid as of July 4th. And here you go, the average household spends $200 to $300 per kid with a bulk of that on
Starting point is 01:04:05 school sports gym clothes. Teachers plan to spend about $300 their own money to set up classrooms. That's why they do the list. Yeah. And I don't mind. And I always help a few lists. But where I kind of do the Rock's eyebrow is when I look and they're like, I'm a massive fan, I only love you and nobody else. But you fill my list.
Starting point is 01:04:22 And I'm like, well, let me just go look at their page. And they send that same message to 73 people. I'm only a fan of you and nobody, I'm only a fan. And it's like, you just lied to me. And then I put the Rock's eyebrow down and I go to another page. Experts say there are those among us that don't like music. It's lunchbox. He's right next to me.
Starting point is 01:04:40 It's crazy. Just the story and the fact that he gives no crafts about music at all. And not in a bad way. It's just not for him. They're called music. Anadonics. It's people who do not enjoy any form of music, whether headphones out loud, they could just care less. They don't hate it.
Starting point is 01:04:59 But they just don't experience similar responses to pleasurable music. that other people do. This is from current biology, a research publication. Lunchbox, talk about your relationship generally with music. Music is just there. If I hear it, I listen to it. I don't go seek it out.
Starting point is 01:05:15 I don't turn it on. Like, I don't go home and turn on an album or anything. I don't do any of that. Like, I started listening to music. I guess my mom played a Tina Turner tape in the car when we were driving to Chicago. And my brother and sister were in love with new kids on the block. They would play that tape every single time we got in the car.
Starting point is 01:05:32 And I would just be like, can we just ride in silence? Can we not have that on? And you run in silence. Run in silence. I drive a lot in silence. Like, I don't have anything. I don't listen to me. The one thing you don't do in silence?
Starting point is 01:05:42 Right here. Yeah. This show. But I don't listen to music. Like, I don't seek it out. Like, I don't. It's not something that I live for. You say you don't seek it out.
Starting point is 01:05:51 But even when there's like a guest in here singing, he just gets on his computer and starts working. Put his head down. Yeah. Because I'm like, it's kind of boring. Some of them are kind of boring. But have you ever been moved? Besides Tina Turner, have you ever been moved where you like feel
Starting point is 01:06:03 an emotion, whatever it may be from a song. I'm like, oh, it's cool. That sounded good. But I'm never like, oh my gosh. What's your favorite song of all time? You've ever thought about that? Never. You never even thought about that? Never thought about that in my life. I thought it was a private dancer. I can like it, but I don't know if it's his favorite song.
Starting point is 01:06:24 Yeah, I don't know if it's my favorite song. Your winning song? Do you even have a favorite song? No, I'm trying to think of like, if you said this is your favorite song of all time, I couldn't even, I have no idea. Tomorrow, if you can remember it, maybe we go through lunchboxes top seven of all time. Top seven? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:41 Because that gives you a little room to flirt. I have to come up with seven songs. He doesn't even know seven songs. Yeah, like party music. I like castles in the sky, but that's not my favorite song of all time. Passes in the sky? Yeah, it's a dance song. Oh, please tell me why.
Starting point is 01:06:57 Why do we build castles in the sky? I can't see. I can't. Oh, please tell me why. I mean, it's so. freaking good. Because you don't like music, but I think you're going to start to think of songs and go, oh, but that one. So seven.
Starting point is 01:07:10 Lunch is top seven. Right, do we even have castles in the sky in the system? No. It's a girl singing and it's a dance song. It's so good, dude. It's really good. Yeah, they used to play at a level. Level was a club you go to. In Austin? No, in San Antonio. And it was like, it was the greatest club ever because you could show them your ID.
Starting point is 01:07:28 Even if you were under 21, they'd look at your ID. Okay, and they'd give your wristband for 21. They'd fake see it. Yep. They'd just look at it. Everybody was 20. one that went in there. Did everybody have a funny name of a club? They went to, because ours was Joe's Big Bamboo. We'd drive to Little Rock and go to Joe's Big Bamboo. And that was a big deal because I was, they would let us end at 18 or 19.
Starting point is 01:07:46 But then we started going to the electric cowboy in Little Rock. That then became the place because it was like they'd play country music and they'd turn it over and play like Nelly and like the easy hip hop, like hot AC hip hop that we liked. And so, but that was, it was Joe's Bing Baboo, Electric Cowboy. You was level? leveled it. It was awesome. And then it got rated by the feds. Dang. It was... Are you going to speculate or are you going to say what you know for sure? No, I know for sure.
Starting point is 01:08:13 Allegedly? Allegedly. Allegedly drug running? There you go. Allegedly. We use that underground. Yeah. I do not know that. They used that as a front. Didn't they like bust into a place in Austin, too? Yes. Oh, like four. That was quah, pure. I mean... They had a fish in the ground. That was like a... Sharks. Sharks.
Starting point is 01:08:31 Yeah, what kind of fish? Was it sharks? Sharks. Oh, it was sharks, dude. You go in this place and they're like, oh, it's the fanciest new club. And you go in and they had a shark in the ground. It was crazy. I used to, pure ultra lounge, man. I used to be there all the time.
Starting point is 01:08:44 I used to broadcast from there. Spiro is where I used to broadcast from. They got raided by the feds. I mean, it was crazy in the middle of the night. Bordered them up. Because supposedly, allegedly, allegedly they were laundering money? Money laundering, drug trafficking. I think that was a done deal.
Starting point is 01:08:57 I think. I just say allegedly. Allegedly. Allegedly, I'm here today. Allegedly. Allegedly, I'm here today. Allegedly. Allegedly, allegedly.
Starting point is 01:09:02 I mean, there was also weird club. I guess you have all of ours. I mean, some bars we went to in college or Carnies before you were 21. And then Tarmigan was right across the street. Tarmigan? Yeah. What a terrible name. I think of it.
Starting point is 01:09:16 We called it Pitar, but Tarmigan. Petar. I don't know, but you could go across the street once you were 21 and get in there. What about the Dixie Chicken? White Russian there once? Big mistake. What about you? Shenanigans in Huntsville in college?
Starting point is 01:09:32 The shenanigans was awesome. It was one huge club, but there had different rooms. You want to dance? Go to that room. You want country? Go to that room. Where would you go for the drug running or the money laundering? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:43 What room? Because all bars have that stuff. All those bars probably had that. You didn't have that a shenanigans? I don't think so. No. Okay. All right, moving on with the news.
Starting point is 01:09:51 Shock nurse walked into the emergency room and found a woman hooking up with somebody on the hospital gurney. Turns out that the guy's wife dressed up like a nurse to sneak in to see him because they wouldn't let her in. and then she got in there and that's awesome. Wife of the year, man. That's awesome.
Starting point is 01:10:07 Wife of the year. Like, he's not even in there that long and she goes through the hassle of the woman who was intoxicated. Of course. Had already been removed from the premises once before for harassing the staff in an attempt to reenter the premises
Starting point is 01:10:19 she stole a medic's white coat so she could slip into the ER ward. Dang. Unchallenged. She, that's, again, that's a sitcom. Yeah, for sure. Let's go out. The fake doctor.
Starting point is 01:10:27 Let's clap it up for her. The fake doctor. No, I'm not clapping for that. The fake doctor now faces charges of receiving stolen goods and the unauthorized practice of a profession and impersonation. That's amazing. Oh, come on. That's ridiculous. She's in love, man.
Starting point is 01:10:40 Yeah, love is love. She's drunk. Still in love. After spending several months lost at C.S. Saylor and his dog were rescued. Tim Shattuck, 51, and his dog Bella set off from La Paz Mexico three months ago. About a month into their journey, they encountered a bad storm. The Professor N. Mary Young. This Gilligan's Island.
Starting point is 01:10:58 And it knocked the electronics out on the boat. They spent several months. I'm surprised nobody saw that for several months. Because the ocean's huge. Don't get me wrong. Don't get me wrong. The ocean's huge. But still, nobody anywhere flew over.
Starting point is 01:11:09 Nobody looked on. This is like real life castaway. They spent Gilligan's Island. Like how big is his boat to be able to survive? Well, so that's the deal. He didn't sunburn because he said he was like hiding under the canopy. He did have a canopy on his boat. So we got into there.
Starting point is 01:11:23 A nearby tuna crawler was able to assist him when they finally got there. I don't know what a crawler is, though. Is that a boat? Probably like fish is for tuna. That is crazy. Rainwater, raw fish, and hiding under the boat's canopy when it got really hot, that boat, whatever's taking them back to Mexico and they're evaluated by doctors, et cetera, nine news. So raw fish, so what, he had a fishing pole on there? Like, how do you get raw fish in the middle of the ocean?
Starting point is 01:11:48 I don't know. You got to do some kind of bear and salmon type stream stuff like, but I wouldn't think so on the ocean. You can't really grab a fish in the ocean. Not really. You got to have some sort of, like, I mean, here's what I do. Well, I guess if I had first aid kit, you'd have to start cutting off pieces of your own skin. Oh, he'd even get his bait. What?
Starting point is 01:12:07 Or chop out of your dog. My skin. It depends what dog is. It's my dog, one of my two dogs, no weight. One of your dogs, sure. No, so can't do it. Thought about it, can't do it. You need a comrade.
Starting point is 01:12:18 I've got, like, you know, calluses and stuff. I probably fish with them for a while. That's so gross. And from, like, you know, my hands from lifting. And all you have to do is catch one fish, and then you can use that for bait. And then you can use... Correct. Okay.
Starting point is 01:12:33 Dude, we survived. We just survived, we just survived it. Me, I'm dumb. I'd have caught one fish. Hate that fish. All the way through? Yeah. So, oh, you know what I saw on TikTok?
Starting point is 01:12:44 This island, I'm not sure where it is. But it's the only tribe that we've never had communication with. And if you go near them, they come out and throw spears at you with, like, metal tips. and a couple people have gone over there and been murdered. Because they're like, no, no, no, you don't come to art. They don't know English. They come running out and they're in like little, just covering their privates. And it's full on.
Starting point is 01:13:11 They'll murder you. This is on TikTok? I've seen it a couple times. But yeah, it's like a people now just steal full documentaries and put them on TikToks. And I'm going to act outwardly like, I'm outraged, but I watch them. And so, yeah, and it's this tribe. And so only one person has ever had any close contact and communication. with them because for like 20 years every week he would go in and drops 20 years he finally gained
Starting point is 01:13:37 their trust after 20 years and got to actually and not really spend time in the water they like hey but they don't speak the same language huh where is this i'm gonna look it up it's in the ocean you don't know where no no yeah it's just the only tribe that's never yeah i bet i can be friends with them shut up oh yeah there have been a couple people go one person went to do a mission trip over there. Like, I'm going to go teach them about the Lord. Oh, I know. Yeah, I remember that. I remember that. Everybody's like, don't go over there. Now there's a ring around the island. It's not a real one, but it's
Starting point is 01:14:08 let's say, it's like the equator. You just know where it is. But you can't go in that even space because it's illegal because people keep going into it and get murder. That's amazing. Oh, here it is. Like, like the people alone. This man, the man who spent decades befriending, isolated, sentinelities. That's it. The Centales, I think, is their name. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:28 Wow. Crazy, huh? What was he doing? Was he going every week dropping stuff off? Yeah. This is great. Hold on, hold on the air. Go ahead.
Starting point is 01:14:37 Take a look. We're waiting on you. Wait on you, buddy. During our interactions, they threatened us, but it never reached to a point where they went out on to kill or wound. Whenever they got agitated, we stepped back. I feel very sad for the death of this young man who came all the way from America, but he made his mistake. He had enough a chance to save himself, but he persisted and paid with his life. He's talking about the person.
Starting point is 01:14:57 Yeah, they kept saying, don't go. Don't go, don't go, don't go. and they killed them immediately. All right, anyway, that's the news. Thank you. Those were Bobby's big. Stories. Were you going to say something?
Starting point is 01:15:08 No, I'm just saying. He would bring gifts of pots and pans, large quantities of coconuts, iron tools like hammers and long knives. How long? Every week for like years? When it like 20 years or something? Yes.
Starting point is 01:15:21 The article doesn't say it until I get buried down here to the bottom. I don't know. It's a very long article. Cool, cool. Just hold. Maybe you can do a report on that. Oh, here we go.
Starting point is 01:15:31 Do you have wigs, though? No, he comes in a little outfit with just like covering his... That's true. He needs wigs. Okay, all right, back in a second. A win is a win. A win is a win. I don't care what you're saying.

Here, the Nick Dick and Poll Show, we're not afraid to make mistakes. What Googler did that I think was so unique,
Starting point is 01:16:57 He's the writer-director. Who do you think he is? I don't know. You meet the president? You think Canada has a president. You think China has a president. Los L'Aruzette. God, I love that thing.
Starting point is 01:17:12 I use it all the time. I wrap it in a blanket and sing to it at night. It's like the old Polish saying, not my monkeys, not my circus. Yep. It's a good one. I like that saying. It is an actual Polish saying.
Starting point is 01:17:25 Yeah. It is an actual poem. Yeah. Better version of Play Stupid Games, win stupid prizes. Yes. Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift
Starting point is 01:17:32 who said that for the first time. I actually, I thought it was. I got that wrong. Listen to the Nick, Dick, and Paul show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
Starting point is 01:17:39 or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, I'm Bob Pittman, chairman and CEO of IHeart Media, and I'm kicking off a brand new season of my podcast, Math and Magic, stories from the frontiers of marketing. Math and Magic takes you

Stories from the Frontiers of Marketing on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. A voicemail from yesterday. Hey, Bobby. I just wanted to call and say that I watched your and Caitlin's video that she had cooked on Instagram. I just won't say it was absolutely adorable and happy anniversary to you guys. Thanks. We had our second wedding anniversary yesterday. And my wife maybe post on Instagram once every two months at this point. But she posted our wedding video, which she purposely not posted. She was like, I don't know. But she posted the whole, it's like a five-minute wedding video. But Eddie and I were working out yesterday. And she came over and she never comes over while we're working out.
Starting point is 01:19:14 No, because it's serious business. Yeah, we're like, we're going to, we're going so hard that people, they get intimidated. Oh, yeah, you need space. And she came over to ask Eddie. She goes, Eddie, do you care if I put it up? And Eddie goes, why are you asking me? she says because I'm crying in the video I'm like I'm not crying it was hot I was sweaty he was crying and that's okay I totally saw that part and he was crying
Starting point is 01:19:30 I was giving loving vows and you were crying no it was hot man it's just sweat going down my eyes but it's on my Instagram story also on my TikTok and they're both Mr. Bobby Bones I did post Dan and Shea singing our first dance yesterday because all those videos she was like hey we have all these we haven't only posted a lot of them
Starting point is 01:19:45 yeah the video's awesome like the whole thing yeah the well I mean the Dan and Shea singing is awesome, but the five minute one she put up. Like, I had never watched that whole thing, and I was like, wow, this is really well done, and it captures so much of the day.
Starting point is 01:20:01 I'm like giving battles in it, so I didn't, it makes me emotional too, so I just, like, I've seen it. You don't like emotion. Yeah, I do, just not in front of you. Okay, I got it. Yeah. Yeah, Caleb must have been feeling mushy, because I even said, I sent her note, like, something like that. Mushy, it was our second anniversary. She loves me. That's what it is. I know, but she doesn't normally, like you said, post certain things,
Starting point is 01:20:19 that she's always feeling about you or anything else. That's why. And she was like, I don't know what got into me. Who am I? But yeah, it's cute. So that's a we try. So we had this person who made our wedding cake and it was awesome. We really didn't get any because it was bang bang, bang. It's a bang, bang, bang wedding.
Starting point is 01:20:37 Like, it's right in that lull of COVID where for a second they were like, COVID's gone. And then like a week later they're like, COVID's back. But we got very lucky that that was a situation. We had it in our backyard. We had a few hundred people there. We have friends that are also performers. So they perform. Gary LaVox from Rascal Flats sang
Starting point is 01:20:54 Dan and Chase sang our first dance song Ronnie Dunn from Brooks and Dunn That was awesome Did Neon Moon You know we just had a lot And it was just fun And we wanted everybody to have so much fun And so we did the cake cutting real quick
Starting point is 01:21:06 And we never had a piece of cake And the woman who made our cake was like Hey every year on your anniversary For the next whatever year I'm going to bring you a new cake Well last year we waited and we didn't get any cake And we were like dang she must have got So this year we waited again and we didn't get any cake
Starting point is 01:21:19 Oh no So it's like 930 loss And we didn't even get to, we didn't have any cake. So we're online trying to order cake. We're trying to find cake anywhere. Uber Eats, postmates, cake.com. You know, it didn't matter. And so she, we get on Instacart and there's one cake from a grocery store that kind of looks like ours, like Funfetti.
Starting point is 01:21:40 And so we order it. I'm like, boom, we're going to stay up. We're going to eat this cake. Celebrate our. So, but I secretly ordered seven pieces of individual cakes from this other place down the road. Just in case the cake didn't show up. So it's like 30 minutes. This is a car.
Starting point is 01:21:52 Guy brings and shows up. He puts the cake on the porch, leaves, whatever. It's a tart. He didn't even get the cake. He just grabbed a tart. And every the message said that he couldn't find the cake. What? They can do that?
Starting point is 01:22:03 They can, hmm. Did you go in and say, do you want refund or replace? Because if you don't specify, then they'll just replace it. You replace it with a tart. It was a tart with blueberries. You probably look hard. You probably grabbed something. Grab bag.
Starting point is 01:22:18 So, we had a couple bites of tart. Okay. And then finally, the. The individual pieces of cake came, but most of them were, it wasn't even the right flavors. It was like peanut. I hate peanut butter. Oh, it's not good. So we had, there was one piece of cake.
Starting point is 01:22:30 We couldn't identify the flavor of it and we ate that and then went to bed. The whole cake situation in last night. I mean, it's still, it's a symbol. Yeah, it's like black eyed peas on New Year's, right? Yeah. You just got to somehow find the black eyepiece. It doesn't matter where they're from. We have one friend who drives around to all the friends in the group and takes a bowl of black eyepiece.
Starting point is 01:22:46 And that's a good friend. It's not you guys. Who is that? My friend Hillary. Oh. Our friend Hillary. Oh, that's cool. I thought you were quoting a TV show or something.
Starting point is 01:22:55 No. Yeah. You do that. I was like, here we go. I was like, why are you guys staring at me in a weird way? Jesse did that? No, no, no, no. It's a real one.
Starting point is 01:23:03 Not Hillary used to work here. But, yeah, she would drive around and go, hey, we put Black IPs and you better eat them the next hour. So Michael Ray, which I want to play a couple clips because that's some really juicy segments here. I'm going to play you. Michael Ray, here is, think a little less. There is one that got away. Here's all right. whiskey and rain.
Starting point is 01:23:27 So I don't really know Michael Ray that well. We've played the opera at the same time together, and that's really the only place we ever hung out. But he was married to Carly Pierce for a while, and he seemed super healthy. And we had done this interview, and I was like, I'm just going to ask him. I think if he doesn't want to talk about it, then he won't talk about it. But he was very generous with his answers. And so I was just like, hey, what's up?
Starting point is 01:23:46 And this is him giving details about his divorce from Carly Pierce. We didn't own anything together. We both signed prenups. I haven't seen or spoken her in three and a half years. I went my way. She went hers. Divorce papers sent to my manager's office. I signed him.
Starting point is 01:23:59 Get sent to her business manager's office. She signed it. It was as clean as it could be. It was a breakup with paperwork. I hate that had happened. No one gets married to get divorced. It's something that haunted me for years. You know, again, made me mad at myself.
Starting point is 01:24:11 You played things through. I did look back and go, maybe I should have done that different. He's going in. And not in, with no malicious intent, but he was just kind of laying it out there. He shared what he would do differently. in his marriage. Here you go. I probably would have slowed things down.
Starting point is 01:24:26 I wouldn't have been so influenced by fans being involved in it. I can't speak for her, but I think for me it was like, man, look at all this going right. I think she was, you know, I also, we weren't around each other a lot. We're both touring artists. Yeah, man. And so you got the one day that you're trying to cram it in to see each other and do it. You know, and you're packing and you're out again. And to be honest, I think I knew in the beginning, you know, around that time that this was something we probably should have slowed down.
Starting point is 01:24:52 It's tough to stop the train, though. Even if the train don't feel, it's a tough call. He talked about what it was like having the spotlight on him and how it really masked some of those issues they were having. Like, we didn't do counseling. We didn't do any of that beforehand. When you do have two at the same time, and it's even the same business,
Starting point is 01:25:10 and all the lives are on you, it's very easy to keep that, hey, everything's good, even when you're home. You know, you're really not addressing issues. You're not really knowing each other, honestly. It's just like, hey, we're here for 24 hours, and I kind of got to do this meeting. I just meeting going to do dinner at five, cool.
Starting point is 01:25:25 And I don't think we really just realize that, man, this is, we're opposite. Michael Ray for an hour over at the house on the Bobbycast really seems like in a very healthy place because I was like, dude, I'll be honest with you. All these songs coming out about you, one after the other, I don't know how you have restrained. Yeah. I'd have been rapping about her. Oh, did you ask about her? I'd have been in every format.
Starting point is 01:25:43 Oh, yeah. Oh, on that. Yeah. I was like, I did on every kind of song. I'd have been answering songs. Oh. But yeah, it's all there. It's cool to hear from him.
Starting point is 01:25:53 You know, we've heard from Carly a lot. A lot. So it's cool to hear this. I feel as though his voice is. Like every second week, another one. Like deeper than I remember. You've been lifting a little bit, you know. It makes your voice do you.
Starting point is 01:26:05 It's the new episode of the Bobby Cash. Check it out. It is up now. My TikTok is just inundated with videos and people commenting on the Miranda Lamber situation. Oh, gosh. Where she goes in the car goes, don't take selfies. All right.
Starting point is 01:26:18 I'm going to play it. She's playing a song. I do have some stuff to say about this. but she's playing a song. It's a Vegas residency. There's some people taking a picture. And in the middle of the song, she stops. Here you go.
Starting point is 01:26:27 Something about the song. It's pissing me off a little bit. I thought about this a lot. I just wonder what was up. I didn't talk about it yesterday because I didn't feel like I had a fully formed opinion. I needed another 24 hours
Starting point is 01:27:01 because I'll like Miranda. I know Miranda. And even reached out last night to go like, hey, if you want to come on the show, because I'm going to talk about it, you can come on the show. Just politely said, pass.
Starting point is 01:27:12 Okay. But I did say, hey, I'm going to talk about it. So if you want to. I just kind of have it at a few different levels. One, I just know Miranda, and she's not someone who's just going to yell at people on a crowd for taking a picture. Like, there's got to be something more to the story. One theory I have is there's got to be something more to the story that we don't know or see.
Starting point is 01:27:33 Now, that one, the part of the story could be, who knows, she could have had a bad day. Or they could have been talking during a ballad, but I didn't only hear the talking. That is just not who she is. to just go, hey, no pictures. So something had to be up. And if it was something that happened, like, I'm making this up in her personal life before, like, let's say a dog got sick or, and she's off,
Starting point is 01:27:59 then you just give her the grace and go, well, this isn't normally how you operate. So you had a bad day. All good. Well, so the selfie girls, some of their footage. I see their picture right now. Is them, like, literally leaving right after that and saying, like, you don't, you know, we're leaving.
Starting point is 01:28:14 We're out of here. You don't talk to your fans that way. They're like the rich seats too. Yeah, they clearly right up front. But yeah, they were, I guess they were embarrassed that they got called out like that and so they left. Second theory of three. So my first theory is she's having a bad day and we all have bad days and we go, dang, I wish I wanted to react it like that. That's my first theory because she's not a bad person.
Starting point is 01:28:41 My second theory is, I'm looking at these pictures here. I don't know. the light that it's a slow because that is a really well-lit picture is that flash just so big and bright and she's just like yo this is kind of a moment where it's dark and you're over there doing
Starting point is 01:29:01 glamour shots oh the selfie picture is really well lit yeah but again it only takes one split second get that flash going or it's like okay maybe could a theory be Miranda maybe notice like if they're trying to get that selfie just right and there's people to the right and the left of them and right
Starting point is 01:29:18 behind them and like are they distracting everything? I don't know. I mean, that's just something that popped in my mind of like, was it creating a little situation right there to where she's like, hey, we're, you know, trying to do something here. Like, yeah. But again, also, it's like people get to take pictures during the show.
Starting point is 01:29:34 You kind of do whatever you want. Unless you just shut phones down. No phones in my shows. No phones. That's because it's comedy. Yeah, but no phones, right? So you put your phone down in a way. And I don't want you recording anything because I'm not done.
Starting point is 01:29:46 We're going to shoot a special with it. So I don't want you putting any of the stuff online. Right. But you can just say Garth doesn't allow phones it is. There's no phones. Make it easy. No phones. And also my other theory is this.
Starting point is 01:29:57 Artists are so on edge right now being on stage because people are throwing stuff. They're running up on stage. Every video. Now I watched Brian Adams singing and somebody runs on stage. Brian Adams. You know what he sings? Yes. Sing it.
Starting point is 01:30:11 I got my first real six string. Oh, a month and pounds and down. I had a thousand buck a bottle of all. It was a summer of 69 So I know that one But doesn't you have another one? You know what's true Oh yeah everything I do
Starting point is 01:30:27 Everything I do I do it for you That one? Yeah that's the one I know I'll love for you Yeah all the things So maybe you're just an artist And you're on stage
Starting point is 01:30:39 Yeah that's a good point Weirdos are everywhere And people are jumping around So like it makes me nervous I'm about to go on full tour And I'm nervous that people are on just like running up on stage. So.
Starting point is 01:30:51 I mean, everybody else in there that was like, who they didn't really seem to be bothered by the comment, you know? Yeah,
Starting point is 01:30:57 I think people in there just like to cheer when people say stuff more than anything. It doesn't matter what they say. They're like, yeah, we agree,
Starting point is 01:31:01 no phones. They're all on their phone because I'd be able to report it. Yeah. So if she was having a bad day, I'd say give her the grace. It's not like this is her normal thing. If she was somebody
Starting point is 01:31:08 was constantly yelling at people, I would have been embarrassed too. But there's also nothing wrong taking a selfie if there's a phone rule. There's a, you know, So let's move on. If she does it again, then I'll be the first one to be like,
Starting point is 01:31:22 all right, Miranda, you got to chill out. I've just had bad days too. Yeah. Or off days. And I come in and I'm like, Eddie, you did not shave properly today. Right, right. You've done it out of here. But like even if there's something distracting going on, like when you're on stage,
Starting point is 01:31:36 I mean, something that's distracting you, the performer is not good. So whatever it is. Yeah, right. Maybe it's probably just a picture though, but. Yeah, it's a tough look. Yeah. I got to be honest, it is a tough look. I just know her and she's a good person and I just want to say that out loud.
Starting point is 01:31:51 Okay, so there's that. Let me talk to Stacey in Salina, Kansas. Stacey, you are on the show. What's going on? Stacey. Good morning. Good morning. Hi, Bobby.
Starting point is 01:32:05 How are you guys today? Doing pretty good. What do you want to say? I would like to hear the Tuesday song. Okay. Are you going to be distracting while we do it? Are you going to take pictures while we do? She sounds a little distracted.
Starting point is 01:32:16 I know. I think there's a little bit of a delay. I actually pulled up. my truck so I can do this. She's in Afghanistan. She's reporting from a cave. All right, to the Taliban. Okay, hold on. Let's put her on hold.
Starting point is 01:32:29 We'll do a little Tuesday song here. All right, guys. This is a song we wrote about Tuesday. We only do it if people request it because there are no songs about Tuesday. There's plenty songs about Friday and Saturday. Heck, a couple songs about Sunday. That's what I love about Sunday. Ever heard of it?
Starting point is 01:32:40 But there's not a single song about Tuesday. Heck, even Monday. Monday and not football. Ready for the football. That's right. What the heck? Nothing about Tuesday. So this is a song we did about the second or third day of the week.
Starting point is 01:32:50 The best day of the week. You all know it's my time. So I made a song about Tuesday So happens it rhymes The lowest number of crimes It's super bingo at nine Don't know how you do your Tuesday This is how I do mine
Starting point is 01:33:00 The sun comes up There's a smile on my mouth, why? Because I love Tuesday Is the first thing I shout Free Zumba this morning Every Tuesday at 5 I got my spandex on It's time to head to the Y
Starting point is 01:33:10 Tuesday H-O-A-D-Duesday Housewife's gone booze I'm just talking about Tuesday Hey It's Tuesday Is my recycling on the curb as a drive off? Yep, my recycling's on the curb.
Starting point is 01:33:25 I mean, Fridays are fine because they're casual and all. But I'm always more productive on my Tuesday conference call my afterwork plans. I got my spray tan. I'm drinking lemon water at me some cayenne. Pebbles and bam, bam, I'm watching seaspan. And then it's two for one at Sonic with a conie in each hand. I say Tuesday, HOA Tuesday, Housewife's going booze. I'm just talking about Tuesday.
Starting point is 01:33:50 Tuesday Brown cow goes Moose Day Eat some cash Tuesday I'm just talking about Tuesday Last Marty crawl On a Tuesday I go to Cromagah
Starting point is 01:34:04 On a Tuesday I'm playing Pokemon On a Tuesday Came out of my mom On a Tuesday Thank you Stacy That's for you and every Tuesday aide out there Tuesday I, you live in Tuesday
Starting point is 01:34:17 Apparently, yes It's all of us Stacey, thank you. That was awesome. That was awesome. Thank you, guys. You're welcome. Can she drive now?
Starting point is 01:34:24 Yeah, get back on the road. Get back on the open road and make it happen. Is it worth it? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Thank you. All right, bye, Stacy. That's Tuesday.
Starting point is 01:34:31 Everybody has a good Tuesday. Bobby Bone Show. Bonehead. Story of the day. This story comes with us from Palo Alto, California. A man walked into a bank and said, hey, give me some money. And he runs out of the bank. His friend's waiting for him.
Starting point is 01:34:46 He jumps in the car. They're driving off, speeding away. And what do they crash into? I gotta be a police station or police car. Ooh. Police car. Yeah. And the police car wasn't even sirens on, no lights, wasn't responding to the bank robbery yet.
Starting point is 01:35:00 They just crashed before the... Was the cop in the car? Yeah. Oh, gosh. That's easy. Yeah. Just get out and they're like, all right. Put your hands up. This arrest came to me. You didn't have to get out, maybe. Maybe you're just put them.
Starting point is 01:35:13 Hey, guys, stay there. Got him. I'm going to arrest you, so don't move. there's a cop car that's in a small town near here and we go into this town a little bit because they got like antique stores and stuff so we'll go shopping. It's an old like Barney 5 type police car and every time you drive in it,
Starting point is 01:35:28 I freak out every time I drive into the town. I'm like, we'll go to this cop. But it's like a 1950s car but still I always tense up thinking I'm speed because the speed limit's like 35. And it's hard to do 35 anyway and I don't drive fast but I tense up every single time
Starting point is 01:35:41 even though the cop car looks like again you could cut the feet of it out to be Fred Flintstone's car. Oh it's amazing. Do you guys know the car? Yes. Yeah, exactly what you're talking about. And it's super cool because it's old and that's why it's there.
Starting point is 01:35:51 But it's still, I think everybody freaks out when they see it the first time. Even in Austin, you remember there was like this structure that somebody made of a cup, like sitting on a bike. And it's really just like iron. Yeah, it's like Lark. You see it got a radar? Every time I saw that, I slowed down. Every time. Okay.
Starting point is 01:36:06 I'm Lunchbox. That's your bonehead story of the day. Is the new Mission Impossible not that good? Eddie, are you just getting old? I think I'm just getting old. I mean, I couldn't even tell you if it was a good movie, dude. I watched about 15. minutes and in the theater yes i mean look i'm on a recliner the those recliners are so
Starting point is 01:36:23 comfy i got a big bucket of popcorn it's dark it's cold dude it's just a recipe for me to pass out do you have a blanket no i wish next time next time i'm taking a blanket and a pillow you didn't watch any of the movie or i fell asleep about 15 minutes in and then i woke up somewhere in the middle did you watch the end oh i saw the end so you know how it ends yeah i don't know how it ends hey mike d did you talk about this on movie mike's movie podcast yeah that's good i I think Eddie's just getting old. He doesn't like action in movies. He doesn't like dialogue in movies.
Starting point is 01:36:50 It's good, though? Yeah, it's really good. Is it as good as top gun? Because I haven't seen that either. Not as good as top gun, but I'm also not that big of a fan of the Mission Impossible movies, but this one had a lot of cool action in it. So I forgot to tell y'all that I finished that movie air about Nike. And remember Eddie said it was horrible.
Starting point is 01:37:07 You have a dialogue. I thought it was so good. It was like Goodwill Hunting, but like. So one of the great movies of art. So I would say go see Mission Impossible. It's probably awesome. It was like Wizard of Oz meets Katsa Blanca meets Forrest Gump meets Goodwell Hunting, but it was just old.
Starting point is 01:37:21 Goodwill Hunting is like a great movie. No, I know, but like Ben Affleck and... He just don't like talking. You need fast-moving cartoons, apparently. But he thinks rope's good. Rope is amazing. Oh, my gosh. That was all talking in one room.
Starting point is 01:37:34 That is crazy. I hope you guys have a great day today. Go by, grab you some Sonic. I stopped at Sonic yesterday and got a... I get a large root 44 water. Obviously, with all the ice. and then I get real fruit and nerds put in. But this summer, Sonic's teaming up with one of, you know, a whole bunch of artists here
Starting point is 01:37:52 to showcase their favorite Sonic drinks remixed like Lany Wilson's Sprite Zero with strawberries and sugar-free peach. Lunchbox, you have one of these two? Yeah, lunchbox is lovely Lagoon. You named it? Yeah, absolutely. I did, like... But how do you name it?
Starting point is 01:38:08 Can they order it? I don't think they can order it. I just made it when I was there. And what's in it? Oh, man, it was like cherries and nuts. nerds and pineapple juice and... That was called a suicide back in the day. I did every single flavor.
Starting point is 01:38:22 Really? Yeah. Yeah. It was really good. That's called Lunches Lovely. I'm not going to say it. I'm in the middle of a commercial. I'm not going to say it. I had a nifer name and they told me, I can't say that.
Starting point is 01:38:32 Did it rhyme with rariah? No. It was... No, don't worry about it. I won't say it. All right, check out the Sonic Gap and see what your favorite artists are drinking or to create your own custom drink remix.
Starting point is 01:38:44 I would just think if you get every flavor I did There's really no room for like the drink It's all flavors All sugar Great Oh it was great It was great
Starting point is 01:38:53 Yeah Eddie has some It was good right It was kind of It was interesting Yeah It was interesting Hey knocked him right out He went to the movie
