It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat. Just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be. Right, it wouldn't be that. There's a lot of luck.
Starting point is 00:02:22 Listen to Thanks Dad on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This week on the Sports Slice podcast, it's all about the NFL draft. Starting point is 00:03:22 Steve Reddavit's trying to put you through. Mike D's writing this week's next bit. Now Bobby's on the mic so you know what this is. The top 10 most overrated films ever ranked. And I'm going to ring movie Mike into this as well because I haven't seen all these. But to be overrated, it can also be a good movie. But to be overrated means it's the greatest. And it being good.
Starting point is 00:03:52 You're going to make people mad on this segment. Not my picks. I'm going to roll through theirs from the Independent and we can see if we agree. At number 10, again, I haven't seen them all. Is it overrated? It can still be good and be overrated. Once Upon a Time in America from 1984, I don't even know what that is. Don't know what that is.
Starting point is 00:04:10 Never heard of it. I actually haven't seen this one either. Exactly. I guess it's so overrated because I've ever seen it. Very overrated. Number nine from 1947, Miracle on 34th Street. Overrated. Wait, let's go to Eddie, who's an expert in these 40s movies.
Starting point is 00:04:25 Yeah, I love the black and white movies, but out of all the Christmas black and white movies, this is not a good one. But is it because it doesn't hold up now? No, the story is just terrible. What's the story? He works, like Santa works at Macy's or something. And this little girl doesn't believe in Santa, but she sees him at Macy's and it's the real dude.
Starting point is 00:04:43 Oh, it's really him? Yeah. Spoiler. I need to watch this. No, it's not a good movie. Really? Have you seen it? Yeah, that's overrated. Even for old. Oh, yeah, even for old.
Starting point is 00:04:51 Because again, we have to give it a little consideration that it doesn't have to hold up. It's a wonderful life is where it's at. Oh, yeah, that's a good one. That's where it's at. If that's on the list, we're going to be mad. Number eight. Amili.
Starting point is 00:05:04 Amelie. Mike, you, Emily, it's a French movie. I'm out. I'm not even going to rate it. It's not rated because I can't, I'm not a home, boom, boom, boom. It's very artsy. You have to be in the mood to watch an artsy movie to enjoy it. Is it overrated on this list because probably it won some awards
Starting point is 00:05:18 and people are like, you just got awards because you ate a croissant? Yeah, it's one of those movies that, like, annoying people tell you to watch it because you need to understand it. Eddie does that with some of his old crap. Not this one, though. The Breakfast Club, 1985 at number seven. I feel like that's good. It's good, but it's overrated.
Starting point is 00:05:32 It's one of the best movies of all time. It's fine. But again, if you were watching it in 1985, that's what we got to hold on to. Yes. So what I read about it was that, I read about it, saw it on TikTok. They said that it was like new for its time because finally there was a movie about what the kids were going through at that age. So I would say I've never seen it. But I'm just again asking you guys not to rate it now, not today how good it is, but based on probably what the standards were then.
Starting point is 00:06:00 But it was pretty relatable because you're always in detention? Yes. No, for real. Because you're in detention and you talk to people in detention that you would never talk to in school. You're like, man, I'm going to talk to that. That's a nerd. Then you talk to me. Oh, that ain't bad.
Starting point is 00:06:14 Number six. Friday the 13th. Oh, that's not overrated. I don't know if it holds up, but it's not overrated. Mikey? I would say the first one's pretty overrated. They get better later down the line. The first one's kind of overrated.
Starting point is 00:06:26 Yeah, I've never seen it, but I'm going to tell you what I'll think about Friday 13th. That's crazy. In your sleep. No, no, no. You're thinking of Nightmare on Elm Street. Oh, never right, never rated. This is Jason. Nightmare on Elm?
Starting point is 00:06:37 See, that's why I've never seen him. That movie. I never even seen those either. That's not overrated. Oh, no, it's not. I never even saw it and I'll be like, I can't go to sleep. I'm going to get murdered. I'm on the wrong movie, though.
Starting point is 00:06:47 Yeah, the wrong movie. Different serial killer. He wore the hockey mask? Yeah, Jason, Friday 13th hockey mask. Freddie is with a sweater in the claw hand. Classic. Number five, Greece, 1978. That's not overrated.
Starting point is 00:06:59 No. I will say not overrated either, only because I have a personal relationship with it. in high school, I was Danny Zuko, the John Travolta character in Greece, and I probably would have never watched the musical. I would have never watched a musical probably, but I really liked it because I got to live it. That being said, I can't fairly go with this, but I will go not overrated with bias. Morgan, you spoke up? No, it's not overrated. I feel like Greece is a classic and it has held up over time every year. I watched the TikTok of the person who played Sandy as Olivia Newton-John. She was a great singer.
Starting point is 00:07:33 She had pop songs. She was also a country artist. She was so talented. She was sitting in around. What would they do now? Singing with like Andy Gibb, singing with Abba. And they were just taking turns. She was awesome.
Starting point is 00:07:43 Yeah, she's awesome. She's from Australia too. Number four. Everything everywhere all at once from 2022. I saw this movie. This is about the different timelines. I love timeline movies. I love movies that have time machines.
Starting point is 00:07:58 I love it. It was still overrated. Really? Really? I liked it. But they were acting like And now my guy, this is my kind of movie. It's Will House to me.
Starting point is 00:08:07 A little overrated, Mike. Oh, I think this is underrated. This is one of the best movies in the last five years. Whoa. Wow, why haven't I watched this? It won a lot of awards. You did in a different timeline. Oh, I did.
Starting point is 00:08:17 Yeah, you didn't like it. You thought it was overrated in a different timeline. All right. Number three, up. Oh, this is so good. Awesome. Up is awesome. Yeah, this is dumb.
Starting point is 00:08:26 This is like the first one I think I watched because I haven't seen a lot of Disney movie, cartoon movies, and watch them as a kid, maybe this one or remember me. Cool, cool, cool. Yeah, those are up. Like, I want to cry right now. So good, man.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Up is so good. How is up overrated? You're a loser if you made this list. Wait, Mike. I think that's why people find it overrated because they say if you watch it, you're just going to be bawling. And it's sad. But if you know it's coming, it's not as sad.
Starting point is 00:08:52 And that's why people hype it up so much. But it was hype to me. I watched it like 15 years later. And you cried? I don't know if I cried, but I was just moved by it. Just the story of. Like any sort of relationship that lasts and endures. I'm just like, I wish I had that.
Starting point is 00:09:08 Number two, the Shawshank Redemption. This is garbage. No, that is garbage. I'm now taking that. Thank you. I'm out of here. This is so stupid. That movie is awesome.
Starting point is 00:09:19 It's the best. It holds up and it's awesome. But I see why saying that, people can watch it and go overrated. That's what gets a movie overrated. Is everybody hyping it out? No, but Eddie hyped it up, and I just saw it two years ago because Eddie hyped it so much, and I was like, there's no way. It was fantastic.
Starting point is 00:09:35 But riddle me this. Don't you sometimes think Eddie's an idiot? 100%. So maybe you. That's stupid. What's up? Come on. All right.
Starting point is 00:09:43 And the number one, most overrated film ever ranked. The Joker. Joker, just Joker. The one with Joaquin Phoenix. Oh, that was crazy. I never seen it. I never saw it. I never finished it.
Starting point is 00:09:53 Not my favorite, but it's, it was good. Like, it's just weird. I don't feel like it was overrated. I feel like it made me feel exactly. like I thought it was going to make me feel the one disappointing factor is there was no Batman or Robin. Nope. That's not a spoiler.
Starting point is 00:10:09 Is it? No. No, there's never going to be Batman in that movie. Why are you doing your mouth like I'm spoiling something? I don't say anything. There's no Batman. There's no Batman and Joker. We've also already talked about that here before. Yes. Do we? Why are you being weird? I don't know. I feel weird. He doesn't want to be a part of a potential spoil. I feel that. Even if he showed up, how would that be a spoiler?
Starting point is 00:10:29 There's joke I thought I liked the Joker I didn't love the Joker but I felt like it was rated appropriately I loved it yeah Joker 2 Ugh terrible didn't love the plea opposite 180 didn't like anything you would add Most overrated movie of all time
Starting point is 00:10:44 Take 15 seconds and think about The most overrated movie of all time It can be a movie that's really good But it just wasn't great You can like the movie a lot But it didn't quite hit where you thought it should Morgan you raised your head first Oh yeah, it's Godfather.
Starting point is 00:11:00 You guys sit me, Canary and a Coal Mine, to watch all the Godfather movies. Yeah, I've never seen them. And I did not like them. Everything that everybody hyped up about him, it was horrible. I was bored out of my mind watching every single one of those movies. Even including the first one, the original one. Amy? What's that movie you loved and I walked out of?
Starting point is 00:11:19 Yeah, but that wasn't my favorite. That was like District 49 or something? District 9. District 9? That's supposed to be a good one? I really liked it. But Amy was like, but she's just going in. was a hater. No, it wasn't a hater. I went and I gave it a go. It's like futuristic. I left early. And then Bobby's like, I loved it. I got it. I didn't say it like I was doing a phone sex line.
Starting point is 00:11:38 I loved it. Lunchbox? Avatar. Oh, yeah. Oh my gosh. I can co-sign. I did like it, but I can co-sign overrated. Good one. Like it transcended the movie industry. It was so... Well, it did because of how it was shown, like the effects. Yes, but I agree with like the plot. It was fine. And then they took 26 years to make another one. Did they come out with another one? They did. People watch it? Is it out? Out? Yeah, they're good.
Starting point is 00:12:01 Really? Yeah, I think Avatar's good, but overrated. They can be both. Mike? Oh, I have to go with Forrest Gump. Like, you guys love that movie? Shoot them. Shoot them.
Starting point is 00:12:08 Guys, get rid of them. Shoot them off the balcony. This is dumber than Shawshank. Shoot him. How is it overrated? Because if I sit down to watch a movie, I'm not sitting down to watch Forrest Gump. When you guys talk about like any time it's on TV, I'm going to sit down and watch it. That is not a type of movie for me.
Starting point is 00:12:23 Punch him. I don't know if I'd sit down and watch it every time it's on TV. It's too long. It's so good, though. But it's really good. I'm going to say, uh, Box of Moonlight.
Starting point is 00:12:31 Stop. What's that? Stop. Lunchbox made us watch this movie once as a bit, and all it was was this dude's dong for like five hours. He said it was one of his favorites. He was like, I can't stop watching it.
Starting point is 00:12:39 And it was terrible. It was a worst movie ever since. Did I not have to watch that or something? No, it was just, you probably blocked it from your memory. Just the guys. Yeah. I made all the guys watch it.
Starting point is 00:12:47 Yeah. And it was his dom. Oh. This video he made. He edited it. Time for the news. Bobby's big. Stories.
Starting point is 00:12:56 I'll leave this one with a, bro. A Miami-Dade middle school teacher was reassigned after he was caught in a disturbing act, caught on video. The video on social media showed the unidentified teacher bending down in a classroom, pulling out an item from a backpack and taking a long whiff three times. The headline biology teacher reassigned after a video shows him sniffing girls shorts. Oh my gosh. What? Reassigned, bro. They don't say what that means.
Starting point is 00:13:21 It could be anywhere and I'm sure it's not around kids. No, no, no. It should be fired. I, they probably legally don't, can't prove what or why. Again, I'm sure there are legalities around it. I'm sure they're separating them from kids before they can figure out how they can do it. Because if they were just going, you're fired, then they get sued and they lose money, even though they were doing the right thing because it was creepy.
Starting point is 00:13:40 So you got to do things the right way to make sure they last long. Okay. I thought you were going to say whiffing glue or something. And then you said, no. No. Yeah, I think the shorts is worse than the glue. Yeah, that's what I mean. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:53 I think every single person on earth thinks that. Like I was seeing, okay, yeah. That's not a bold take. Bold take. All right, WSVN with that story. The next one is the power of sunglasses. Studies show the sunglasses can give you more self-assurance. And now it's been scientifically documented to be true.
Starting point is 00:14:10 Sunglasses make you feel more confident. The answer is your eyes often reveal emotions that you'd rather hide. So most of us feel exposed when strangers make eye contact with us. By preventing this, you feel less vulnerable. Sunglasses also make you feel attractive. And when something makes you feel attractive, you feel naturally more confident. That's from Learn to Power Think by Katarina Rondo.
Starting point is 00:14:29 It's like a cape. It's like a superhero cape. Hydez gives you special powers. I tried to wear sunglasses member for a while. We had a sty in your eye and it was disgusting. We made you. Yeah, but I tried to like wear it as like Eric Church style. Yeah, and then we can't see anything, man.
Starting point is 00:14:44 Yeah, it says here, we'll not work on some people. Yeah, they're too nerdy. Next up, a rare copy of the U.S. Constitution sells for $9 million. Wow. It was found dusty. in a North Carolina filing cabinet. Two years after the only known private copy
Starting point is 00:14:59 of the U.S. Constitution printed by Charles Thompson, Secretary of the Continental Congress was found in a filing cabinet, in a home in North Carolina, it was sold for $9 million at an auction. Fox News. How many are there? I think this is the only other one. $9 million.
Starting point is 00:15:15 Don't let Nick Cage get around that. He will find a way to own that sucker. Also, a California brewer has debuted a special seasonal logger. Eddie, what's a logger as a, Compared to a beer? It's just a style of beer. Like, usually it's a little darker. Thicker. A little thicker? Yeah. Like syrup. It's my favorite. Like some of them smell kind of like, like Christmas treeish. That's an IPA. Do you, is it, is it harder swallow? No. So it's still very, you don't drink a lot? You don't have a logger? No, I just, I just have seen people drinking loggers and it looks thick. Well, this one costs $120 for a six-pack.
Starting point is 00:15:50 Oh, what's so special about it? Worth every penny. It's what it says. Also, you know that song? She drinks a whiskey drink. She drinks a lager drink. I'm familiar. Lager. I know the lager's a term. Or an alcohol.
Starting point is 00:16:03 I just don't know the difference of that in beer. No, it's a kind of beer. Got it. Yeah, it's just a different kind of beer. But there's a difference, though, and like what you'd buy as a beer in a gas station in a logger. No, they're all different.
Starting point is 00:16:13 Like, Miller lights a Pilsner. Gennis is a whatever. So we're saying there are differences. Yeah, there are differences in all the brands of beer that you buy. Right. So a logger's different than like the normal beer. But no, no, no. You can go to the grocery store and buy a Pilsner, a logger, an IPA, different kinds of beers.
Starting point is 00:16:29 Isn't an IPA a specialty beer only made at one place? Nope. Nope. I've known nothing about beers. There's probably five different kinds of beers. Ray, why do you think I need to drink? Ray was telling me this whole thing about why I need to start drinking? I'm obviously...
Starting point is 00:16:41 So you'll sound smart in this segment? Yeah, so it's a scientific thing. It's called the Balmer effect where you're actually better at some things when you have one or two drinks. So I would say pickleball, golf. If you go over two drinks, that's when you become drunk and you... How many lager is what I need? Probably one. That stuff's pretty thick.
Starting point is 00:16:57 You got to cut it with a knife. But what I'm telling you is, for you, you're going to think better, they say, on one beer. There's so many things. It's called the Balmer Effect that you can do better by having one or two drinks. But that's the problem. Bobby, you're not just going to have one. I'm going to have a ten. Why is it called Balmer Effect?
Starting point is 00:17:15 You know? I don't know. Some scientists that came up with it and he did all these studies and data and, wow, people actually performed better when having one or two drinks. My assumption is it's because, and it doesn't have to be drinks. based or related that you're a little more free and whenever you're a little more free you perform better you're not more confident you're not tight like less nerves yeah you're you're not um overthinking physically mentally yeah anyway logger not the same thing as a beer no it's a beer okay yeah
Starting point is 00:17:41 anyway 120 bucks for a six-pack and you can buy it let me see why says it's so good that's a coal winery that makes it say people are buying it a perfect minute who cares Buy some. Try it on the show. Yeah, might as well. Here's the problem I have with that. I always have to pay for it out of my money, and I don't like that. I get that.
Starting point is 00:18:01 A funeral home apologizes after the corpse falls out. Oh. And that and the hearse falls out into traffic. Oh, oh. I thought you meant like fell out of the funeral home. It fell out of the road. So the car's driving. It's not funny, man.
Starting point is 00:18:16 And the hearse drives and the casket and the body falls out. The body fell out of the casket, too. The corpse fell out. Oh, gosh. Well, that would be corpse falling out of the hearse, right? That'd be a funny Halloween prank, though. I've seen that before on prank shows. That's funny.
Starting point is 00:18:34 Like, I think Jackass used to do it. They drive off and there's a casket. Yeah, hilarious. Uh, man to Claire, oh, listen, I was going to do a segment called, Is This in America? Okay, I like it. I like it. We can do that in the middle of the news. Is this in America?
Starting point is 00:18:48 A man who had been declared brain dead woke up while surgeons were preparing to harvest his organs. After suffering a drug overdose, he was taken to the hospital where doctors informed his family. He had no brain activity. His sister said that they had agreed to organ donation that he had. And so the hospital started. As the surgery to retrieve his organs began, somebody noticed signs of life when his eyes opened. That's a big sign of life. Hey guys.
Starting point is 00:19:16 That's a big sign of life. However, about an hour into the operation, a doctor came out and said, he's not ready and he'd woken up. Is it in America? Well, no chance. 100%. It's in America. Why do you say well? Based on the, you know, this being a fun game about it, I think it is in America because you would think it's not.
Starting point is 00:19:36 Well, I had like three of these I was going to do together. Oh. Yeah, it wasn't just going to be this one. Got it got it. That's America. So is it? I would always think it wasn't because it's always like in India where stuff like this happens when people are at their funeral and they wake up and they go, ah. But they're doing here everything like we would do in America.
Starting point is 00:19:51 You donate organs, they harvest them, all legal. This was in. Kentucky. Oh. Wow. Wow. I know. That's wild.
Starting point is 00:20:01 And then finally, Billy Joel's mansion is selling for $49.9 million. Okay. Oyster Bay, Long Island. He named the property Middle Sea, 76 acres, a main mansion or beach house, a guest house, a gatehouse, pool bowling alley. He's moving to another one of his houses. But if you have 49.
Starting point is 00:20:17 You can probably get that down to $45 million. Jeez. You go shit? Yeah, and he does piano, man. He does piano, man. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. And he's not rich? Yeah. But didn't he get a lot of money stolen from his managers?
Starting point is 00:20:30 Yeah, and I think he's also divorced. But he has so much. Dang. Just print it, man. That's from Newsbreak. That's the news. Thanks. Los word. Bobby's big. Stories. A win is a win. A win. A win is a win. I don't care which I'm saying. Yep, that's me. Cliver Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football, or my career in sports media.
Starting point is 00:20:54 Somewhere along the way, this platform became bigger than I ever imagined. And now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifford Show. I'm Anna Sinfield, and in this new season of the girlfriends... Oh my God, this is the same man. A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist. I felt like I got hit by a truck. I thought, how could this happen to me?
Starting point is 00:22:17 The cops didn't seem to care. So they take matters into their own hands. I said, oh, hell no. I vowed I will be his last target. He's going to get what he deserves. Listen to the girlfriends. Trust me, babe. On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.

Woo, woo, woo, woo. My dad gave me the best advice ever. I went and had lunch with them one day and I was like
Starting point is 00:23:02 And dad I think I want to really give this a shot I don't know what that means But I just know the groundlings I'm working my way up through And I know it's a place that come Look for up and coming talent He said if it was based solely on talent I wouldn't worry about you
Starting point is 00:23:14 Which is really sweet Yeah He goes but there's so much luck involved And he's like just give it a shot He goes but if you ever reach a point Where you're banging your head against the wall And it doesn't feel fun anymore It's okay to quit
Starting point is 00:23:29 If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat. Just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be. Starting point is 00:24:37 The family court hearings that followed revealed glaring inconsistencies in her story. This began a years-long court battle to prove the truth. You doctored this particular test twice in so much, correct? I doctored the test ones. It took an army of internet detectives to crack the case. I wanted people to be able to see what their tax dollars were being used for. Sunlight's the greatest disinfected. They would uncover a disturbing pattern.
Starting point is 00:25:03 Two more men who'd been through the same thing. Greg Alespian and Michael Marantini. My mind was blown. I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trap. Laura, Scottsdale Police. As the season continues, Laura Owens finally faces consequences. Ladies and gentlemen, breaking news at Americopa County as Laura Owens has been indicted on fraud charges.
Starting point is 00:25:25 This isn't over until justice has served in Arizona. Listen to Love Trapped podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Do you believe, quote, if it's your time to go, it's your time to go. Amy? I mean, yeah, I guess I buy into that. Also, if you, you know, miss out on dying too, I'm like, well, I guess it wasn't my time. Yeah. So I do not believe that at all.
Starting point is 00:25:52 I believe we make decisions. No, because if that were the case, you would never have to take care of yourself ever. Oh. Because you're just going to die whenever you're thought to die, meaning there would be no reason to actually. Get yourself a good health. Avoid risks. Because if there was a calendar date that you were for sure going to die, why the crap would I try to be healthy?
Starting point is 00:26:08 But you don't think like the idea in your mind would be like, I'm giving up today. Is part of the plan of you giving up and dying? I don't understand your question. Like when you decide in your head, I'm just not going to eat anymore. And then you die. That was your time. But you decided that you just countered your own. But it was your time to even think that.
Starting point is 00:26:26 See, I go back and forth because like if I'm walking down the street and someone drops a, you know, something falls off a building and hits me, there's no way I could have avoided that. But that's bad luck. That's your time to go. Your time. So you all think that there is a time already predetermined and there's nothing you can do about it and you will die at that point. Correct.
Starting point is 00:26:46 Because it's one way or the other in this argument that we have. Okay, but now that I'm hearing you talk it out the way you did about... Why would we even try if we were just for sure going to die at a certain time? Right. Because we don't want to die. Because you don't know when it is. So you still try. But that doesn't make sense.
Starting point is 00:26:59 It doesn't matter because why would you try? try trying affected absolutely nothing. If you try something but you know you're going to try forever and actually affects nothing, why would you try? So my answer, and I am not right. None of us are right because there is no, we can't go to a fact check on this. And I'm going to tell you why I'm asking the story. Like when it's your time to go, I guess it's your time to go.
Starting point is 00:27:20 I do not believe that because I believe there are decisions you can make. There are a million micro decisions a day that you make that determines how good or bad of a day, how safe or unsafe of a day. if you do put yourself in situations where you do die. So that's my belief. Okay, so I agree with what you're saying there. There's very unfortunate circumstances that happen where you're like, dang, that was super unfortunate where they may not have had control of that situation,
Starting point is 00:27:44 but they may have had control putting themselves in that exact spot at that time. But this was the reason I asked, because lunchbox gave me the story about this, and this is a freak accident, and this story sucks. But her name is Julia. She was a swordfish got her. Oh, surfing. I saw this. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:28:01 Like, there's no way, like, you're just out doing, like, that's your turn. It's your time. Correct. Because how bizarre is that? No one could even, like, what? A swordfish is going to attack a surfer? But unlucky is not the same thing as predetermined. Meaning, if you're a thrill seeker in general, the odds that you're going to be injured or die is going to be higher than someone who is not a thrill seeker.
Starting point is 00:28:20 And this is a thrill seeking activity. But sometimes, like, Tony Hawk, he's a thrill seeker. Like, he's done billions of tricks and hasn't. died. Me, I walk in my car, go to work, live a very safe life. That's because he's an athlete with like a strong body that works out that keeps it in shape. No, bones. It's not his time yet. Okay, I'm not a believer of that. Again, if you're someone who constantly jumps out of airplanes, someone who paraglides, someone who... Oh, the base jumping thing? Any of that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Your insurance is going to be higher. Why?
Starting point is 00:28:54 the odds. You're a high risk. They're high risk. And when you're a high risk, more high risk folks die than less high risk folks. But there are absolute freak accidents like this. So that's what you call it. A freak. I think accidents happen. Yeah, sure. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. But it's not. You wouldn't ever say, well, I guess it was their time. No, I wouldn't. The accident wasn't their time. I'm with the whole free will thing and we make certain decisions that impact all parts of our lives.
Starting point is 00:29:22 and we can change course. It's not a linear thing. But I guess I still use, I'm going to use that saying, though. I like it. It's our time. If it's your time, it's your time. You know, I don't hate you using it. I will not revoke your privilege to say that.
Starting point is 00:29:37 Thank you. But I just wondered how many on the show really, because if for me, if I really believe that everything was predetermined, why the crap would I spend so much time, effort, energy, anxiety, worrying about anything. I would put forth no work and just go, what are supposed to happen? He's going to happen to me.
Starting point is 00:29:49 And that's it. Boom. No, not boom. No, not boom. That's how you live life. And I wish I had a little bit of that in me. I'm jealous that I don't have more of that in me. That is true.
Starting point is 00:30:02 Boom. I think you couldn't have said it better right there. Boom. Boom. An elderly woman has been accused of, well, let me read you the story. She was joking around with this other guy and he's like, shoot me in the groin. So she did. Stop.
Starting point is 00:30:16 She didn't think the gun was loaded. And apparently he was like, I bet you won't shoot me in the groin. Ha, sick, wow. It's terrible. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. This is unfortunate. So, yeah, Westwood woman was accused of fatally shooting a man on the groin Sunday.
Starting point is 00:30:32 Kathleen Geiger's accused of shooting Arthur Osborne once in the groin on East Tower Drive. Geiger told police that she and the victim were engaged in harmless banter when he jokingly requested she shoot him. Geiger told authorities she believed the firearm was empty. She is charged with reckless causing of death. The judge ordered her to be held on $10,000 bond. that's from Local 12.
Starting point is 00:30:51 So many things went wrong here. One, you can't ever just play around with a gun. Two, if you do have a gun, you need to look inside and see if it's loaded. If you're going to pick it up, you should have the knowledge to also know how to see if there are any bullets in the gun.
Starting point is 00:31:04 Three, you never pull the trigger. It doesn't matter. You never pull the trigger. And four, hey dude, don't be asking somebody to shoot you in the nuts. Yeah, that's the number one. It's never asked someone to shoot you in the nuts. I don't think that's number one.
Starting point is 00:31:16 I don't think that's number one, but that is up there on the list. That's the worst one of all. said that. Right, we don't know. Because she only shot once and it was in the groin. No, he did die. He did die. He just fatally. He died. The reason I would say that my argument back would be she only shot him once and it was in the
Starting point is 00:31:32 nuts or the groin, wherever. And mostly you're not going to die if you just shoot somebody in the nuts. Correct. So that had to go on a hundred different absolute, well, like two absolute wrong ways. He bled out. Oh. Because you shoot me in the literal groin
Starting point is 00:31:47 like in my, like in the the side of the quad. I'm probably not going to die if you give me to the doctor soon. Okay. She shoots them five times. Like growing, growing, growing, growing, head, growing. There was something up. Yeah. Okay. Next. But I agree. One, never pick up a gun unless you know how to use a gun. Or unless you're in danger and you're like, this is a... Two, if you are picking up a gun, you're not in danger. Look, see if there's any bullets in it. See if it's loaded.
Starting point is 00:32:10 Yeah, I just feel like if you wanted to murder him and you just did, then you tell the cops, oh, he told me to shoot him in the groin and I didn't think the gun was loaded. But that's a good point, though. Like, I really... When you read the story, I'm like, there's no way he died. A groin shot, you don't die. And that's why I don't think that it was on purpose. Because if you're going to shoot somebody, you, oh, he told me, shoot him in the head. That's empty.
Starting point is 00:32:31 That would have been the story because I don't make sure to kill him that way. Okay. Well, maybe she shot it and waited to see how it played out to see if she needed to shoot him more. Well, you love conspiracies. Like, you're just building one right here. Hey. Against all, everything that probably would have happened. She's still like, no, I believe that she murdered him by shooting him in the peen.
Starting point is 00:32:48 Yeah. Oh, they said that she did render aid to him like she was trying to help him when they arrived. Well, that, Amy's going to come up with a new conspiracy. Give her a minute. She pretended. Obviously, she needs to act. After he was dead, she did, of course. She needs to act like she cares because it was a, quote, accident.
Starting point is 00:33:02 And then she was old. She was an older lady. 77, man. Oh, that's so. She's going to spend the rest of her life in jail. Old people dying and dash. Yes. Is it you who saw that?
Starting point is 00:33:12 I did. Dude, that was crazy. Well, I saw, okay, so I sat down to the restaurant and I saw them eating. And I was like, oh, they're a cute little couple, didn't think much about it. And then I saw the servers kind of freak out, like, minutes later, like, 20 minutes later. They were just, like, kind of scrambling. Like, so I asked our server, like, what happened? Like, what's going on?
Starting point is 00:33:30 Oh, my gosh, we just had a din in dash. I'm like, really? You didn't they just forgot where they were? Or forgot they didn't pay? Were they that old? No, because they said it happens all the time, all ages. Like Silver Alert, though, like they're lost. Oh.
Starting point is 00:33:41 Or if it happens all the time with all ages, they need a better plan. I'll tell you what, no, when you're older, you can use that as an extent. excuse, be like, oh, sorry, I have dementia. I will tell you, though, at this restaurant. Like, I forgot that I didn't pay. I thought I paid already. At this restaurant, it is kind of easy to do that, I see. Tell me how?
Starting point is 00:33:58 Because you pay at a different place. A different building? No, like a different room, like a room that has... See, get all your food and you pay in a different room? Yeah. After you eat? We all want to go dine and dash down. We don't even dine a dash.
Starting point is 00:34:09 On the way out, you pay. But you have to walk by the register? I mean, you don't have to. The rest room's on the left, doors on the left. So, see, they need a new system. Yeah, you know what I'm talking about? Yeah, cracker barrel. Okay.
Starting point is 00:34:23 It's a cracker barrel. Yeah, but I still feel like you have to walk to enough things where people will know that you just left your table. Dude, you get up for your table, you look at the little, like Halloween decoration. The tree gets in there and just walk out the door. That's too obvious. Because the server doesn't know where, you know what I mean? If you both get, yes, I agree, you go pay. But I'm saying, if you both get up, but you don't walk to that register and you're looking around before you pay,
Starting point is 00:34:47 I think you probably go, sir, hey, don't forget to pay your ticket. No, no, because you got to buy your items. Like, you get the trinkets, you buy that. So if you're looking at the trinkets, they're like, oh, he's going to get some extra stuff to add onto his ticket. Nope. Out the door. See, they just trust that people are honest. Yeah, especially old people.
Starting point is 00:35:01 Dang. Do you think the old people stole or did the old people forget? No, I think they stole. Because the servers were like, yeah, happens all the time. I hate it. Maybe there's just so many old people that are old. And they forget? And they're just like, did we pay?
Starting point is 00:35:14 Back in our day, you paid at the table. Crazy. Bone Show Bone Head Norrie of the day This story comes us from Webster, Massachusetts Number one rule
Starting point is 00:35:24 When you have a grow house Don't overpower the power cord Grow house Some people may not know what that is I know what that is What is it? It's where you are growing illegal substances
Starting point is 00:35:34 You can say drugs Drugs Marijuana Yeah you can get a lot of stuff Herbs I mean we talk about drugs And all the time And all of a sudden
Starting point is 00:35:42 We don't want to say the word drugs The gongja Yeah yeah go ahead So it caused a fire police, paramedics, fire, respond, put it out, find the grow house, power strip, they had too many cords connected to it.
Starting point is 00:35:55 Question. So if that all, same question. Is that probably the same question? Yeah. If that house is on fire, everybody gets high. Everybody doesn't get high. Bob Marley style? I mean, I guess unless you're going,
Starting point is 00:36:07 like taking a, you're next to it. You're not going to get a secondary. Have you guys never been like secondary high? Yeah. Shut up. You haven't. If you answer like that, you haven't. Yeah, man. You got to be close to it and be in it for a while.
Starting point is 00:36:20 You're not going to be three houses down and be like, hey. Anybody got some bongos? You're the first responder. Let's go to our guy. He says he's not a drug guy. Scooby Steve. Yeah, man. Stop.
Starting point is 00:36:33 Like the firefighters going in could probably easily get a secondary high. I don't know because they're wearing masks and they're breathing their own oxygen. Yeah, but don't you think they're not, though? Don't you think they're like. They can reverse it and pull it in. Yeah, they're going in, but they're also like taking their man. Yeah, pulled off a little bit. Like the next door neighbors.
Starting point is 00:36:47 Next for neighbors, I guess it depends on how close they are to each other. And how much. Yes, how much and how big to grow. The concentration is huge. So if it's like a grow house where they got trains moving through there with lots of different plants and stuff. Trains. Yeah, and also if it's a grow house, because most grow houses, some people just call it that, but it's just like one bedroom. True, yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:06 That's not good. Oh, and like a fish tank. But they have some houses that they will buy and they'll paint the whole thing inside black. Full, yes. Full on a house where there's a train system where it moves from room to room in different stages of growth. A lot of times, though, And how they'll spot them, though, is you can almost fly over them because of the lights
Starting point is 00:37:22 that they used to. Yeah. And they'll recognize, I know a lot about that. Why? The flyover heat? No, not just that, but when I was a kid, family members grew a lot of weed in the house. And I would learn how it was, yeah, but not like this.
Starting point is 00:37:35 We didn't have a train. That's next level. A plant. We had, yeah, we had like hot lamps and closets. And so I knew, and I did we had scales. I knew everything. We, though? Yeah, my family.
Starting point is 00:37:49 Okay, I know. You brought it to it. You know a little bit about you see it. I didn't help, but like, I didn't know what I was doing. I was young. And so would I go get a scale and like put weed on a scale? Yeah, of course. You go to school with a backpack full of stuff?
Starting point is 00:38:01 I didn't do that. And I knew it was. Hey, take this to your friends. I knew it was. Take this to Ms. Smith. And at the time, I knew it was wrong for me to be doing it because it was illegal fully. And I wouldn't want any kid to do it now. But yeah, no, I was pretty well versed in even bagging once way, once, yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:21 I haven't thought about this in a long time. That's great. Guys, I was part of the drug trade. Oh, my goodness. Who knew? We unearthed it. He's never had to drop an alcohol. I've never used it, never smoked anything.
Starting point is 00:38:31 That breaks my heart. That's a good dealer, though. You never want to get high in your own supply. That's right. I wasn't a dealer, guys. I was like eight years old. Good business, man. Still, man, you're smart, dude.
Starting point is 00:38:40 It's sad. It's sad because I was eight and I was helping. Well, because now I'm thinking of you And now I'm thinking to other kids Oh yeah Because you know this is happening all the time Heck yeah Happen to me
Starting point is 00:38:50 My grandma when she found out I was doing it It's one of the reasons That she may move out and live with her Part of it That's good though Never knew that man I didn't I haven't thought about that in years
Starting point is 00:38:58 Wow But it was just such But I'm not looking for sympathy I know you're not It's just like we're taking it in Because we've We know a lot About you
Starting point is 00:39:06 Yeah no I feel like this is something Maybe you suppressed a little bit I think I've Yeah repressed Suppressed bench pressed all the presses
Starting point is 00:39:15 yeah because I used to weigh on the little scale yeah and way before I think they did it now but it was used to weigh weed on the scale I used to bag it I know I was wondering how you knew so much about the
Starting point is 00:39:27 Me too as I started going halfway through it started like trigger me back again to where I'm like man I don't oh yeah and then if we thought a knock on the road we didn't know it wasn't always my job but mostly as my job
Starting point is 00:39:40 go turn all the lamps off immediately Ah. Eat it. No, I don't have to eat it. It's not super troopers, man. It was just because if there's lamps all over the place, there was no, like, heat,
Starting point is 00:39:53 but if there were lamps, mostly in closets and in corners and they would cover the top. But yeah, no, look at me. Or if your power bill was so expensive, they're like, why is it so expensive in that small house? Well, so, yes, but not really for us
Starting point is 00:40:06 because we only had like three lamps. Yeah. And it was just a few plants. A few plants each. So the bill was never going to be that high. And a lot of times, this is so weird. I haven't thought about this.
Starting point is 00:40:17 Forever. Let's go. Let's do it. We would not. It was a, whomever, like my mom was living with at the time if I was with him
Starting point is 00:40:25 because she wasn't with my dad because I didn't know my dad. And some pretty shady guys at times as I think back. But he would be like, don't turn the lights on for us to use it. To save electricity for that. To save electricity for that.
Starting point is 00:40:38 I thought you're going to say maybe maybe they used an extension cord and plugged in and at the neighbors. That's not bad too. Well, we'd get caught. Yeah. A generator. One of those guys, same guy, had to pull a gun on once because he'd hold my mom.
Starting point is 00:40:48 What? Oh, a boyfriend? Yeah. Okay. It's all coming out now. I thought you meant a buyer. I've mentioned this once, but like, no, not a buyer. Well, no.
Starting point is 00:40:56 Not a good dude, but he was holding it by throat, so I pulled a gun and put it on his face. Yeah. What on earth? Dude, you don't know the life I came from. No, dude. Apparently we don't know. Me either. I forget all about this crap.
Starting point is 00:41:06 And then sometimes I'm like, well, I was poor. So I'm like, I'm not going to talk about the story. I almost had to shoot somebody in the face for beating it my mom. And then I'm like, well, that's even worse, dang it. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, uh, bonehead, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:16 I'm lunchbox. And that's the saddest bonehead story. Oh, it's not sad. It's not sad. It's not. It's not sad. It was not supposed to be sad. I'm remembering things from my childhood, sharing them.
Starting point is 00:41:27 I have a bit of knowledge, maybe a little old now on how that's done. You're right, though, Amy, that is hope. Right. You can get out of it, too. Because it's like, it's hope. I'm in, I'm good. Look at you. I don't want it to be that.
Starting point is 00:41:39 Don't feel sorry for me. No, no, no, no. I don't. Hey, thank you. This is hilarious. Thank you. All right, bonehead me up. I'm lunchbox.
Starting point is 00:41:46 That's your bonehead story of the day. Not this weekend, but next weekend is daylight savings time. So again, not this one. You don't have to remember anymore. It's all done. Everything we have just about's digital. I don't know. I don't trust anything.
Starting point is 00:42:01 The alarm clock. What are you talking about? I still have an analog alarm clock. So do I. Do you listen to the AM, AM radio? The radio comes on. That's what happens when I wake up. It's the kind of if the signal's going in and now.
Starting point is 00:42:12 So you guys have an old school hotel alarm clock? Yeah. But also my stove. Okay, but that's fine. That's not going to dictate your day. Well, it's in the kitchen. But you're going to see your phone way before you see your stove. Regardless, I can't believe you two guys.
Starting point is 00:42:25 Yeah, man. 1990 Ramada alarm clock. Why would you not? Sometimes it's commercial when you wake up? You never know. Like, as in a commercial? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:35 Well, it's not. this weekend, but next weekend. So they don't really talk about adjusting your clock, so that that is done, but 95% of clocks get adjusted automatically. But number one, they say gradually adjust your sleep and wait times. No chance. It's like the first day of school back in the day. They were like slowly get ready so the first day of school, you'll just fall into it. No, you don't. You just go until the first day and you're just exhausted at school on day number two. But they say if you can gradually, like 15 minutes at a time, 15 minutes at a time, 15 minutes at a time, by the time it hits, you'll feel normal. Number one, number two, establishes,
Starting point is 00:43:06 a good bedtime routine. Number three, get plenty of sunlight during the day and first thing in the morning and then stick to your new sleep and wake times and then when it hits, your body will be fine. I have found that's way too much work. What you do, you just raw dog it as soon as it hits. Three days later, you're fixed. Instead of putting 12 days into it of a little bit of work, let it hit, be grumpy for three days, and you're good. Yeah, but we really need to stop this whole time change thing because I see more and more articles about there's increase of death anytime we do this. A little bit. I think they write those articles because people click on things that say increase of death.
Starting point is 00:43:37 Oh. Because I've never really heard of anybody dying. I haven't heard of anybody dying from Daylight Saviors time. They say. I know, but who's they? Articles that want us to click. Right. So I hate Daylight Savings Time, but it's never going to end.
Starting point is 00:43:49 So it is what it is. Unless we move to Arizona. Okay. They don't have it there, right? I don't understand that. I still don't understand how they can't just have. They don't. They're the only ones that don't have it.
Starting point is 00:44:00 They just choose not to do it. That's it. I mean, let's all choose not to do it. Like as a show, let's just not do it. Well, we're around other people in the same city, state, that do do it. So we'd be off time with everybody around us. Arizona, they don't. So like, if we're going to lunch, we'd be like, hey, guys, we'll meet you there at noon.
Starting point is 00:44:17 One o'clock your time. That would be even more confusing than living near a time zone line. Imagine if you live right near a time's online and you have to communicate with everybody. You live five miles from online. And you're like, okay, you live down the road, but you're Pacific and a mountain. That's a constant juggling. Dang, don't think about that. That would suck.
Starting point is 00:44:35 So, yeah, we can't really do our own. Okay. Or we'd start the show around noon. I kind of like that, though. Noon, your time. Not my time. All right, that's it. We're done.
Starting point is 00:44:45 Bye, everybody. Let's go. Bobby Bones. The Bobby Bones show. A win is a win. A win is a win. I don't care which I'm saying. Yep, that's me.

I felt like I got hit by a truck. I thought, how could this happen to me? The cops didn't seem to care, so they take matters into their own hands. I said, oh, hell no. I vowed I will be his last target.
Starting point is 00:46:36 He's going to get what he deserves. Listen to the girlfriends. Trust me, babe. On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I'm Ego Wodom. My next guest, you know from Step Brothers Anchorman, Saturday Night Live, and the Big Money Players Network, it's Will Ferrell. Woo, woo, woo, woo.
Starting point is 00:47:05 My dad gave me the best advice ever. I went and had lunch with him one day. And I was like, and Dad, I think I want to really give this a shot. I don't know what that means, but I just know the groundlings. I'm working my way up through, and I know it's a place that come look for up and coming talent. He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you, which is really sweet. Yeah. He goes, but there's so much luck involved.
Starting point is 00:47:28 And he's like, just give it a shot. He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit. If you saw it written down, it would not be a nice. inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat. Just hang in there. Yeah. It would not be. Right. It wouldn't be that. There's a lot of luck. Listen to Thanks, Dad, on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. This week on the Sports Slice podcast, it's all about the NFL draft. And we've got a special guest. The director of the NFL's East West Shrine Bowl, Eric Galco, joins the Sports Slice podcast,
Starting point is 00:48:10 to break down what really matters when evaluating draft prospects. From hidden traits teams look for to the biggest mistakes franchises make to the players flying under the radar. This is the insight you won't hear anywhere else. If you want to understand the draft like an insider, you don't want to miss this episode. Listen to the Sports Slice podcast on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, for wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:48:33 And for more, follow Timbo Slica Life 12 and TikTok podcast network on TikTok. In 2023, former bachelor star Clayton Eckerd found himself at the center of a paternity scandal. The family court hearings that followed revealed glaring inconsistencies in her story. This began a years-long court battle to prove the truth. You doctored this particular test twice in so much, correct? I doctored the test once.
Starting point is 00:49:00 It took an army of internet detectives to crack the case. I wanted people to be able to see what their tax dollars were being used for. Some lights the greatest disinfected. They would uncover a disturbing pattern. Two more men who'd been through the same thing. Greg Lespian and Michael Marantini. My mind was blown. I'm Stephanie Young.
Starting point is 00:49:19 This is Love Trap. Laura, Scottsdale Police. As the season continues, Laura Owens finally faces consequences. Ladies and gentlemen, breaking news at Maricopa County as Laura Owens has been indicted on fraud charges. This isn't over until justice has served in Arizona.
Starting point is 00:49:38 Listen to Love Trapped podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On the Bobby Bones Show now. Tierra, great to see you. I was thinking about you the other day. I was doing this thing on TikTok. Do you see where people go, Do Ray? Yes, yeah. Do you see that?
Starting point is 00:49:58 Is it the game? Yeah, where you try to get it through the circle? Yeah, have you done it? I did it. And I got set. I got, I got, I got like to fall. I couldn't get through it. I'm terrified to do it.
Starting point is 00:50:10 it because I think I will feel miserably. And I wonder about you, I was thinking about you, because you came up through music like you learned I play guitar on YouTube. Yeah. You were playing like local restaurants. It's not like you had this massive classical music background. No, no, no. And when I think of people that do, do re me, I think of people that are trained classically.
Starting point is 00:50:31 Yeah, no, I, like, I cannot read a music sheet to save my life. Can't do the Nashville chart system. Like, yeah, I'm just like pick up the guitar. and if it, you know, just the basics, the basics just to get me by. Did you have like a favorite YouTube teacher? Or did you just go, because I learned, and I don't really play, but I learned on a poster, I got at Walmart. Okay.
Starting point is 00:50:56 How to put your fingers on the, so I learned GCD. You learned from a poster? You know that Walmart did slap, slap, slap. Yes. I bought that poster. I love that. That's cool. Okay.
Starting point is 00:51:07 No, I didn't, I didn't have like a specific, really, I just looked up whoever. whatever the shortest video was, like get straight to the point, please. I do that now with other videos, yeah. Yeah, like, I just want to know exactly what I was searching for. So that's what I did. And then I would learn how to play, like,
Starting point is 00:51:22 specific songs, and that kind of helped me broaden the chords that I could play. What was one of the first songs do you ever learn fully that you were like, I can't believe, I played a full song.
Starting point is 00:51:31 Ooh, I should remember the specific song, but I'm pretty sure it was like a Taylor Swift. That's probably because you wanted to learn it too, so it was a mix. Yeah, so I can, like, play my covers, Because I would like, when I would play, like, at restaurants and stuff, I would, sometimes I would have, like, backing tracks, and that's just, like, not cool.
Starting point is 00:51:48 At restaurants, you were able to get backing tracks? L.O.L. Yes, I did. And then I was like, I should probably learn how to play an instrument. Oh, you mean just for the instrument? Yeah. I thought you meant, like, you had background singers on tracks. Oh, no, no, no. Oh, yeah, okay, got it, got it.
Starting point is 00:52:03 So you would sing like karaoke, basically. Yes. That's funny. It was very jank. So at some point, it was like, I should probably, either learned how to play piano, guitar, whatever. Guitar was the easiest. So, yeah, I just did it.
Starting point is 00:52:16 But, like, even so, I'm not, like, fancy. Just, you know, it's just a good underlay. No, you're good. Get me by. Like, you play, you don't look at you and go, she doesn't know how to play guitar. Like, it's part of what you do musically. I feel like it naturally fits.
Starting point is 00:52:27 I appreciate that. Did you go and just sit in a room forever and do the, my fingers hurt? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, my parents tried to put me in guitar lessons. And it didn't work because she was trying to teach me how to play, like, classically. Like, she was trying to teach me
Starting point is 00:52:40 that individual. notes and I was like, ma'am, I love you so much. I love that you're trying to teach me everything, but like, I just want to know how to play Taylor Swift. So that's when I left and I was just, you know, just learning on YouTube. What's the easiest Taylor Swift song do you think? I don't know. Like lots of G's and C's. Teardrops on my guitar, like all the OG stuff. I think I learned, I thought love was only true in fairy tales. I learned I'm a believer. Because there was a lot of C and G. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:11 The easiest ones. C and G. I actually transpose some of my songs so that it gives me the easiest chords. And those are C and G and G and D. Well, and to get totally in the weeds and extra nerdy, if there's a song with a lot of like Fs. Yeah, no. Eddie will just take and capo it down for me so I can only play C's and G's in the D's. Yeah, if I see a sharp in there, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:53:32 I'm out. I run through that. Bar chords, no, not doing that. So this is the first time that you've been in here since you have added your last name. Yeah. You've been here as Tierra, never as the formal. Tierra Kennedy. Here we are.
Starting point is 00:53:45 She's married. You added a name. Is it because you got married? I did get married. He demanded your stage name, B. Kennedy. Well, I will not say what my maiden name is right now. You can look it up, but it is not as good as Kennedy. Yeah, Kennedy's pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:53:59 Kennedy's pretty cool. It's loves too. Thanks, Sierra Kennedy. Thanks, I appreciate it. If you're not going to do this, you're going to be like a CEO or something. Let's go. Two options. Hey, I can do both.
Starting point is 00:54:09 Superstar. CEO, yeah, true. New album's out. So did you write on most or all of these songs? I felt like everyone I saw you did write on. Yes, yeah. You did? Was that important to you? Yeah. So, I mean, the album is called Ruted, and it's about my story. And so it was important that I had a hand in all of these songs. And I got to write them all with my friends. And so I feel like I got to be a little more vulnerable on this album, You know, with songs like I'm a Cowgirl, that was kind of the first time that I broke the walls down. And it felt really good.
Starting point is 00:54:47 I feel like people are going to be able to listen to this album and get to know me a little bit better. I've put your song Can't Help My Country on the women of our country, maybe the countdown too probably. Yeah, you have. Thank you. Yeah, you can compensate me later. That would be illegal.
Starting point is 00:55:03 Everybody, that's FCC. We can't do that. It's illegal. It's a joke. I love to hear. I'm a number one fan. Would you mind plan that for us? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:12 Okay, so while she's doing her finger stretches, her new album is out now. It is called Ruted, and this is the current single called Can't Help My Country, and she's going to play it for us right now whenever you're ready to hear. Oh, I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:55:26 We can't post a live performance on the podcast. Two page you can. All right. Hey, I saw, I was looking at your opera stuff. Do you know how many times you played? Oh, my gosh. Over 10? I think. Have they given you the cup yet?
Starting point is 00:55:47 Yes. I think my next one's 11. And the cup cool. You're like, why does somebody hand me a cup? I know, but it's so cool. It's so cool.
Starting point is 00:55:53 It's special. I know. I keep mine too. It's like the one cup I have that doesn't match everything because the wife likes everything to match like cups. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:59 Same. After like the 10th time, they handed me a cup and I was like, and then you look and it's the operas like, you've played the stage 10 times. Yeah, it's very cool. And I like I love stuff like that. I have, like I keep all of my stuff.
Starting point is 00:56:13 in like this bin. It's like my memory bin. And so I have like all of my special bits from there. So yeah. There was a picture that you had posted way back in the day, though, of you on the Opry stage when you're like, I'm going to play this. Opry, Wanda. How long ago was that picture? Years ago, I mean, probably like 12 years ago. It's before I moved to Nashville. I look like a little baby. My hair was black. So that was a long time ago. But man, I remember doing that. I took a tour with my parents and I was like I am going to perform here one day I didn't know when that would happen but
Starting point is 00:56:47 it's special to be here like 10 performances later that's super cool and they like you or they wouldn't invite you back right right right every time I'm like oh I please I hope they asked me to come back because it's my favorite place you have the new album rooted there's one song that's cry and I saw Justin
Starting point is 00:57:03 Timberlake and Scott Storch Scott Storch they were as writers on the song so Timberlin too was on the song right but it was a real name that I saw. He has a real name. Did you know that sort of real name? Timothy mostly. Is that like Timberlin? Oh, I didn't know that.
Starting point is 00:57:17 Yeah, who knew? I thought it was Mr. Timberlin. What's up with that? How did you guys all get on one track? Well, I met... I was about to call him Timothy. I met Timberlin. Is that his real name, Timothy? Yeah, Timothy mostly. Yeah, but we're going to call him Timbalin. I met him a couple months ago, and he was so great. We didn't actually write the song together. So I got together with Cameron Biddell and Jared Scott, two of my favorite co-writers. We just wanted to write a fun song.
Starting point is 00:57:44 We knew that we needed to add that kind of vibe to the album. And Cameron just started playing the chorus. And he's like, crack, cry, crap. And we're like, oh, my gosh, we can, like, do a little interpolation moment here. And, you know, we both grew up listening to R&B and Justin. And I feel like Timlin has such a hand and all of that music and that sound. So it was really cool to kind of merge the two. What does it feel like to have the whole record finally come out?
Starting point is 00:58:14 It feels amazing because we've been working on it for a long, a long time. It was supposed to come out last year, and then I left my label, and we kind of revamped the album. And I feel like it's a lot more true to who I am as a person. We took out some songs and added some new songs that I wrote a few years ago, but that I've always loved and wanted to put out. So it feels good for it to be out. It feels right. It feels complete.
Starting point is 00:58:45 The record's out now called Rooted at Tierra Music. I'm big fan. I appreciate you being here. Thank you so much. Thanks for having me. I hope everybody streams the crap out of it and it sets a new record for streaming in one hour. That would be awesome.
